What did you extract out of the weekend community?
Marry me Jock
Gday there SC. I'd like to think I'm married to all of you blokes. Locked together in fantasy fellowship and bretherenship. Great to have you around the place mate.
love ya maaaaate
I'm shotgunning the first spoon. Nothing like a moustache tickling the back of your shoulder at night.
You are the reason i play Supercoach Jock Reynolds Community. An absolute pleasure to come home to this page every afternoon.
And it's an absolute pleasure to guide you on your path to glory Jack. You're a good egg
I'm with Jack Jock, you guys give it the xfactor that make it a pleasure to play!
Awesome jock ! I was very disappointed in Yeo , but not quite prepared scratch him after 1 nab ,,, and what everyone thoughts on Milera ? Round 1 certainty ?
Same here, Fox. He could have stood up in weak eagles unit. Not ditching him yet because it's nab and he did some good things last year which excited me. Needs to put in a solid afternoon's work though
In an Eagles team without their best onballers, Yeo's performance is no surprise. He's still a great pick.
I've scrubbed him, as a young upcoming footy pro that he is meant to be – that effort may point to an attitude problem.
Had Parker locked from the start – can play and still young – same goes for Quadzilla
Beautiful work Boomers. I've got both as well mate – love watching the young guys burst out of the blocks.
got both aswell
Me too mate and now so will everyone else…!
I agree 100% with you. I have both Parker and Wines in my side. Like you say, they are both young and hungry and at a discount price. I prefer players which are young and moving into their prime. I have Sam Docherty and Dane Rampe in my backline. Both are great value with strong SC scoring upside for the coming season. Cheers
First team will be loads of changes before round one but just want to see what people think off it
BACKS – Houli Yeo Smith Malceski Asih Brown (ess) Bench- Francis Brown (wce)
MID – Ablett Shiel Rockliff Wines Liberatore Crouch Parish Kerridge
Bench – Freeman Polkinghorne Cunningham
RUCKS – Mumford Lobbe
Bench – Grimley
FWDS – Martin Bennell Westhoff Greene Anderson Simpkin
Bench – Kommer Petracca
Too many 200k players have left you one premo short in midfield. Really think Libba is M6 not M5. Playing Lobbe brings in Crouch at M7. Being one midfield premo short also means that Ablett and Rockliff are your only captain choices.
Bennell for Barlow.
I'm liking bennell at the moment he is going to be a POD and i reckon he will come out with a bang due to the offseason he has had
He hasnt trained with the main group all preseason so…….
i thought he had returned to training my mistake might look at moving him on then thanks
Between Shiels and Parker for me, parker hurt me last year, not quiet to the levels of Daniel Rich, but enough for me to think twice.
Both have a lot of upside Gavey. Like that you've plucked Shiel out of the mix – I've had my eye on him from day dot. A lot of Chris Judd about him.
His scores last season say enough. I love the way parker goes about it, but I don't think I can go both without sacrificing elsewhere.
My current starting mid is
Ablett – shiels
Rockliff wines gibbs
Libba omeara crouch
Just give me the award already!
strewth!
Yes I reckon Shiels, Parker and Wines are all very tough to split. All 3 could take their game to the next level in 2016.
I can probably only accommodate one in my side and at this stage it's Parks but the other two look very attractive options indeed.
Can we just clarify. Are you guys talking about Liam Shiels? Or are you making a mistake with spelling Dylan Shiel?
Yeah Dylan Shiel.
The other one can take a long walk off a short plank.
Bit harsh. Liam Shiels is incredibly underrated.
My apology lads but I meant Dylan Shiel too. Love the way the kid attacks the game.
What about Dylan Shiel? Saw a vid on facebook and he looks like an absolute tank
Yes rate him highly. Will be in at least one of my various fantasy sides (Supercoach, RDT, AFL Fantasy).
Love Wayno's tip of R.Conca – Its between him and Wells atm for me for that Mid Price FWD / MID
it is between Simpkin and Conca for me. At the moment i have Simpkin, only becasue he is cheaper
hi Jock – with the sub rule gone, everyone is banging on about how previously sub-effected players will be mini cash cows. What i havent seen however is any analysis regarding the fact that due to reduced rotations, some blokes will infact spend a lot more time on the pine like the old days. Do you think it will be the rookies, or maybe back- up ruckman who will ride the pine and only get 40% TOG etc.
Hi community, thoughts on this team please
def KK, BARTEL, SMITH, FRANCIS, BROWN(ESS), COLLINS, (BROWN (WCE), HARTELY)
mids DANGERFIELD, PENDLES, ABLETT, ROCKLIFF, PARKER, WINES, LIBBER, PARISH (PETRACCA, HIBBERD, MATHIESON)
ruck NICNAT, LOBBE (COX)
fwd MARTIN, DAHL, BARLOW, WELLS, SIMPKIN, KERRIDGE (WYATT, MCDONALD-TIPUNGWUTI)
thought would be appreciated
Great Podcast guys! I'm also worried about Yeo's performance. He was lazy yesterday against the crows, but as you say there was definitely no structure to the eagles play. He did attend centre bounces, but this was dominated by the crows. Will watch closely in his next match. As a crows supporter I'm very excited about Milera's performance! He's highly likely to debut in round 1, although the squeeze will be on with Cameron and Menzel to come into the side. Very eager to see him play NAB 2.
Does anyone know where I can get he time on ground stats for the Gold Coast v Lions game? The AFL website is showing them all at 100% which is obviously incorrect!!
Yeo is in my team, but i'm not convinced. I was hopeful that he would get more midfield time with mastern getting injured, so i'm happy that happened. But i would have liked he got more of the footy, will be watching close.
Maybe at the AFL site in the game stats section but not 100% sure if they will or not
Yep it is at the AFL site. Look at TG is the time spent on ground
http://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/nab-challenge/…
No good mate.
It all reads 100% across the board as Sarah mentioned.
It's not up and running then. Sorry to have sent you on a goose chase. I thought the AFL would have had it up and running by now
Fan Footy is also showing 100% for this game whereas every other game looks ok
backlines a bitch h shaw is the only premium i trust but 600 grand is it to much jock iam starting to doubt it whats ur thought guru
anyone know a rookie defender max price around 275k already have Francis and Dea
And also a forward max 450k thinking of Jack Martin. Thoughts??
If you can find another 8k, Harwood from Brisbane looks a good pick up if he can remain injury free.
aish
Aish played wing in the Pies intra-club.
If he looks like he will play there come round 1 he will be in my side. $275k Defender playing wing will be a bonus.
Aish probably the go, but I've got Fantasia, Luke McDonald and Daniel Howe jockeying for spots as well.
McDonald-Tip……..
If you need a fwd under 450 go greene or stringer
Parker or Sloane is keeping me up at night
toss a coin maybe parker better side
Currently have Sloane but we will wait and see. My team structure is delicately poised re Jaeger O’Mearas fitness
Parker as I feel Sloane will get extra attention this year with the loss of Danger
Sloane.
Parker has so many others to share points with. Hanners, JPK & Mitchell.
It has been rumoured that Sydney plan on using JPK more up forward this year. This has come from both JPK and Sydney staff. Not sure as to why you would take one of the best contested footballers out of the middle but might be something to think about.
thatmeans parker and mitchell might be great pods
Heard that as well. Surely playing games with everyone. JPK is far too good at contested footy. If anything you would think Mitchell and Parker may rest more forward than him.
that is just silly.
I'm also feeling that Titch and Parker will spend more time up forward, especially if the swans already have tall targets up forward in Franklin and Tippett
That just means that instead of going to the bench for a rest he'll go forward for a few minutes. Not every time but often enough to allow those team mates with smaller engines to rotate more frequently. JPK will spend more time forward but he will also spend just as much time in the middle as he did last year
Crows have a tough start to the year.
North, Port, Tigers, Swans, Hawks, Fremantle, Dogs, Cats.
I'll be looking at getting players like Sloane, Jacobes etc as an upgreade. They might even drop in price.
Sloane will get tagged all year. Swans always start slow. Neither?
Parker or Quadzilla? This will be my final midfield spot.
That's a decision I'm grapling with as well. Hoping to fit both in.
I wish I could but cant unfortunately. Already have 4 premos and Liba and not wanting to adjust that. Plus if I take a premo out from another position, it leaves those positions weak. So many choices this year. I swear by the time the season starts, I'll be bald.
I think we'll all by bald by round 1!
The points aren't broken up by position mate, if you think Quadz or Parker will score more than a premo in another position, get them in!
Wines.
both
If it's windy or raining I'd consider Parker, otherwise I'd prefer Wines.
I have both.
Parker for me holty have wingard fwd and no other swans. He is a machine.
Wines
Who to go between D. Wells and J. Simpkin in forward??
Would love to hear ppls thoughts on K. Tippett beside Goldstein in the ruck and loved the Malceski call.
'He needs to remember his roots……and also where he came from' HAHA
That must be all he's doing up north
Simpkin for me, a lot have Wells but can't see him being great, has not played a lot of footy in recent years. Simpkin will love the amount of opportunity he will get at the Dons. After having a frustrating time at the Hawks.
Like Tippett, i have had him in and out of F4 for a few weeks. Just want to see what sort of role he will have. More Ruck or more Forward? Think it will be better him in forward line though. Create a DPP link with 2 premos. Then look at a Martin, Mumford, Jacobs, Nicnat, Lobbe along with Goldy.
Ruck bye schedule – Goldy,Martin,Jacobs,Sandi & Blicavs all have round 15 Byes – I've gone Goldy & Nic Nat
Jacobs doesn't
Simpkin
Here's how i see it, Simpkin pretty much guaranteed to make you 150K but also guaranteed to not be a keeper, Wells on the other hand could injury himself in the warm up before the R1 game and never be seen of again but he could also make you 200k or even do a Higgins and average 100 and be a keeper.
when was the last time wells ave over 90?
2014, last season he was fit.
2013
Tippet was in red hot form end of last campaign. Killing them in the ruck and kicking well up forward. I think he’s better in the middle than Sinclair so will spend slightly more time there than forward I reckon. If Sinclair wasn’t there Tippet would be in a lot more teams including mine. Still it’s hard to leave him out when Leuy is the alt fwd/ruc cover.
I’m wondering if I should just go with Goldy and Lobbe with no cover except a rookie who won’t play.
What I’d REALLY like is a Goldy, Mummy ruck combo. That could go 300 on any given weekend. But Mummy is so injury prone due to his awesome style of play.
jock higgo and crouching i love your podcasts every week. the first round of beers are on me gentlemen. top stuff 🙂
Thanks Sammy! Great to have you here mate
So who do we think are the must have midfield rookies at the moment?
My opinion:
Gresham and Mathieson atm.
Other i'm still up in the air – Gore, Keays, Jansen???
Not jenson.
Gore
Kerridge & Petracca are both FWD eligible, they will be starting in my team.
Mathieson seems a likely selection.
I'm keen on having a look at Maccaffer who is rookie priced at $177k.
If Caff can be released from his previous tagging role he could turn into a nice little earner with good JS.
Seems keen to play more of an attacking forward role this season, from what I've heard, but it really comes down to how Bucks wants to use him. Also not the most durable player out there.
But regardless one to keep a close eye on over the next month at his rookie price.
Clarke fro North
This community gives me life!
I love you Jock, Higgo & Crouching!
We love you Jock, Higgo & Crouching!
My trousers are stretched and my gooch is saturated.
Thoughts on R. Laird???
Seems a POD and had a very impressive year last year. Currently have him D2, going for a different pick than Bartel as plenty have him and think Laird can outscore him and play more games obviously.
Like it PJ8, he seemed to be the guy running off h/back in the first half yesterday, Smith took that over more after half time but his disposal was poor compared to Laird's.
Got Laird in my option 2 backline and im liking the look of that more then my option 1
Yeah i will be still selecting B. Smith as well as Laird so I'm going to look closely at both of their roles.
Been in my team since the start
My biggest POD this year is Johannisen. Haven't seen him mentioned ANYWHERE at all. Good year 2015 and there's some aging boys around which might mean his young legs get more responsibility. At 23/24 I reckon he could be in a significant year… I was going to go with B Smith but I have to back myself in here. If I was right about JJ and didn't select him I'd be furious with myself. Fingers crossed.
Looked good, considering him if he plays the same role when the best team is out there
Jacobs and Liberatore OR Lobbe and Bontempelli. Lobbe and Liberatore are both bound to raise in price but I reckon Bontempelli will take things to a new level this year. With liberatore returning it will bolster him even more and eleviate the tag that was laid upon him. I still remember us discussing that picking liberatore was a huge mistake (before he got injured), because he couldnt handle a tag. Once he returns and bangs out a couple 100+ scores other teams will start putting a tagger on him and limit his scoring, allowing the buffonted one to run around freely. Thoughts community?
Agree with PJ8 Patrick Jacobs and Libba, iv gone off the Lobbe bandwagon…
Agree with PJ8. with your first choice, you are potentially locking in 2 keepers for the rest of the season. Although I see the Bonts having a great year, neither he or Lobbe have ever had a premo year.
Jacobs and Libba. Can't see Libba being a mistake, he's proven. Average of 110 previously.
Also don't think Lobbe will be great, still not proven with the new ruck point allocation
How many out of Ablett, Pendles, Danger and Fyfe should we be selecting?
I currently have 3 in pendles, fyfe and gazza but not sure if I should go for someone else like wines/parker or not
If it helps my current mid is Fyfe, Pendles, Ablett, Rockliff, Wines
Would love all of them Tom as they will all potentially be top8 come seasons end. I have 2 of them but may have the 3rd if some extra defensive rookies appear on the radar. My order is with reasons:
Ablett (Need I say more)
Fyfe (Could potentially average 10 points more than the 2 players below)
Pendles (With the addition to a few players to strengthen Collingwoods midfield, he may spend more time elsewhere)
Danger (May take a few games to get settled at new club)
Only my opinion but it may help you select/not select these players.
Good luck
You're better off sticking with the proven elites if you can afford them.
However if the $100K in savings in 'downgrading' to say a Parker really makes a MAJOR difference elsewhere in your team then you should definitely consider that.
But until the rookie/midpricer picture fully shakes out over the next month you can drive yourself crazy thinking too much about these sorts of nuances right now.
Two, Fyfe and Ablett.
Sitting on Fyfe, Ablett, Rockliff, Joel Selwood, Parker, Liberatore, Rook, Rook right now.
similar to mine t woof. liba is my m6. i feel if you load up to heavily in the mids, you will be chasing your tail trying to get to full premo.
Ive gone similar
I have pendles ablett jpk shiel rocky and libba and my main mids
I think if you can get as many of yhe best of the best in you have to do it
But i was looking at downgrading jpk for parker/wines so i can use elsewhere
Not sure yet
You will get Dangerfield and Fyfe under $600k when you need to upgrade, both are risky picks
You could be right Danners.
Dangerfield is definitely an upgrade target for me. Want to see how he fits into Geelong.
Fyfe, i'm happy to pay a premium. Gives me 3 man weave of captain choice each week having him, Gaz & Goldstein in starting squad.
Currently have Ablett, Danger, Pendles, Priddis, Libba, Crouch, Rookie
I really wanna get Fyfe in but can't decide how to do it yet…I'd have to lose one of the other big guns to make it happen and can't pinpoint which one yet.
great in theory but how will you come up with the money? if your plan is to wait til the bye rounds then yes, i like it. everything needs to line up perfectly to do this though if we are planning to get them both before then.
I've got three (Fyfe, Gaz, Pendles) along with Rocky, Parker and libba with 2 rooks filling the last 2 spots. Hopefully can set and forget the majority of my midfield and my rucks (Goldy and Nic Nat) and concentrate on getting my bookends up to premo by the byes
I don't remember anybody at this site has ever suggesting that Libba couldn't handle a tag.
In 2013 (his 3rd season) he averaged 107 and was the 11th top scorer in supercoach. The following year the tag moved from Boyd to Libba and Libbas average went to 110 and he was the 7th top scorer in supercoach.
Seems that he performed better after attracting the tag and is probably the only midfielder to ever accomplish that feat
G.Ablett?
Whens the next cheat sheet out?
Gee ease up sunshine. Next one may be after nab round 2 or even round 3. Not a lot to get out of the round just gone so probably wouldn't be much to change.
Just keen mate! Surely nothing wrong with being eager?
Nothing wrong with a bit of trouser swellage! Probably next week matye
Bontempelli, Parker , Wines. I cant keep all 3 I need to get rid of 1. Thoughts community?
ive selected wines in my team but they all have massive potential. i think wines and parker will average more but they are both coming off injury affected seasons. i honestly believe you will be happy whatever choice you decide.
Bontempelli out
Bont, too big of a risk
the Bont….
Thoughts on my team?
KK, Bartel, Smith, Yeo, Broad, S.Collins, K.Collins, Brown
Ablett, Pendles, Fyfe, Rockliff, Wines, Libba, Hopper, Gresham, Cuningham, Keays, Mathieson
Goldstein, Nic Nat, Wyatt
Martin, Zorko, Barlow, Kennedy, Petracca, Kerridge, Grimley, Adams
5k left in the bank.
Can easily get rid of Smith/Yeo/Bartel for Aish and upgrade a fwd rookie to Simpkin.
Downgrade Fyfe or Pendles to Parker/Selwood/Cripps. Use cash to upgrade rookie to Brad Crouch
Thanks for the feedback Ethan, but as I said above, I'm trying to pick mids who will finish top 10. Parker and Cripps don't fit that bracket in my eyes but Selwood will come close but is under an injury cloud. Thanks for the feedback though 🙂
Love the structure of this team, Mac. Keays didn't do much yesterday and probably won't get a gig round 1. Hopefully we see Cuningham next week. Fingers crossed your backline premiums start showing something!
Forward option under 350k?? Already have Simpkin and Kerridge
Wells, Conca, Petracca and Leuey (if healthy) would be on my short list.
Degoey!!!
Dump Simpkin to a rookie and get Greene
Going BIG in the midfield this year
Let me know what you think!
KK, Bartel, B.Smith, Wigg, Brown, Hartley (broad, 102k)
Fyfe, Pendles, GAJ, Rockliff, Wines, Parker, Libba, Gore (mathieson, freeman, macpherson)
Goldy, Martin (grimley)
Dusty, Barlow, Franklin, Wells, Kerridge, Petracca (Kommer, Galucci)
rookies are subject to change and only about 8k left in the kitty
what are we thinking??
Not bad Tom, I'd change kk to Birchall & freeman won't start.
I'd look at changing one of KK or Brodie Smith. Both speculative – if neither of them fire your backline will struggle.
gee tom, im amazed you managed to get all those mids in and still look strong in other positions. Looks a strong side. i guess the only problem is generating enough cash from the rookies as there arent many in the mids. apart from that, looks great
Goldy & Martin have the same bye, you might need Nic Nac or Jacobs
I agree, you need to generate cash in this game.
Marry me Jock
If you could name 1 player this year who you believe will have breakout year ? who would it be ? I'm banking on M.Duncan @ 493k – I reckon he can be up around 590k at years end. Thoughts anyone ?
Big Duncan fan right here.
Can't give you just one but Bird, Hutchings, Z Merrett all in for BIG seasons! probably only going to be able to fit one in my team.
Like Tom's Zac Williams too, class.
like Z.Merrett,
Taylor Adams for me. Second half of 2015 was awesome. Just seems to be coming into his own. Thinking Dane Rampe also
I had Duncan in my team for a long time as I watched him towards the end of last year and was really impressed.
And with Danger and Selwood getting all the attention you would think some of the other Geelong mids might get some room to play.
Sadly I can't quite squeeze him in to my structure at the moment but I'll be kicking myself if he comes out and kills it!
Mitch Robinson anyone? Have the feeling he could go big this year.
he's my F3,seems settled now,and must be showing leadership qualities as he was captain on the weekend
Thoughts on my team
Backline
Yeo, Bartel, KK, Aish (50-50 on), Dea, Francis (Boner, Broad)
Midfield
Pendles (50-50 on), Ablett, Rockliff, Wines, Parker, Libba, Crouch, O'Meara (Jansen, Petracca, Freeman)
Rucks
Mumford, Lobbe (Cox)
Forward
Chopsticks, Barlow, T.Greene, Simpkin, Conca, Kerridge (Komner, M.Brown)
Not bad, Ethan. Mid rookies will emerge mate, when they do drop one or both of Crouch and JOM and use the cash to fix up your rucks. Neither of them inspire a whole lot of confidence
What do people think of Big Roughie as a D4 provided who gets the number 1 ruck role at Bulldogs?
Not on my watch list at all at the moment. At 347k there are much better options around. Maybe later in the season though
Nah even if he rucks, he won't rack up anywhere near as much as lobbe I reckon.
Thoughts on my team
Birchall yeo smith rich bonner m.brown Ess (hibbered k collins)
Danger Pendles abblett Rockliff wines Libba crouch parish (d.gore j.long d. Macpherson)
Nic Nat lobbe (wyatt)
Zorko wingard Barlow Greene petracca kerridge (kommer m.cox)
Good side. You are effectively running 7 mid pricers. The two in the midfield don't hurt you. Even the Defence, whilst risky, can be overcome as I suspect other mid pricers or fallen premiums will be plentiful in Defence throughout the year. But Lobbe, in my opinion, is an all or nothing play. Many think he's worth the risk. Personally, whilst I can see the upside, the downside risk is too high for me
i don't think i have missed to many of your podcasts and that was easily the best one
My Team is very midfield heavy but the only reason is because i believe these guys are at bargains prices or are going to improve.
DEF: bartel, kk, yeo, brown (dons), hartley, bonner (hibberd, broad)
MID: Pendles, gazza, rocky, sloane, selwood, parker, gibbs, libba (gore, mathieson, macpherson)
RUC: nic nat, lobbe (wyatt)
FWD: gunston, barlow, dusty, wells, kerridge, petracca (grimley, M. Adams)
only have 3.6k left in the bank but i may will probably downgrade one of the mids to milera (through petracca) and upgrade defence but atm im happy with it because i think all of them will improve and some are to cheap like gibbs and libba.
thoughts greatly appreciated 🙂
By spreading it like that, do you think you have enough captain choices? Defence does seem light. My concern with 3 def rookies is they don't traditionally score well, so delays the upgrade to full premo.
I agree keenbutclueless with the defense and may get rid of Parker and Sloan and get wines and a rook and upgrade Hartley to maybe Simpson. Though I like my mids because I think out of the 8 at least 4 will be top 10. But whole team subject to change.
For anyone jumping on Parker, Mills and even Buddy, remember the Swans invariably start pretty slow.
Thoughts on Roberton from STK?
I think he is injured atm.
Robertson did his ankle (don't know how serious) in the intra club match and I can't remember how long he's out for
Anyone else currently got Francis in mid , I'm seeing him in a lot of backlines ? Great mid def swing considering there are barely any relevant defence/mid options.
I'm going Aish Def/Mid @ 276k ,as far as a Rookie goes Francis @ 198k might in the trade window for mine only, not doubting he can't play though. M.Hibberd @ 117k is a Mid /Def also, he should play this week for Norf
does anyone know which teams have the most sunday matches this year? i guess its always handy to know for the loophole
Not the doggies Holty… Yip yeh!
It's not just Sundays but Saturday evenings as well. Both the Blues and Dees are reasonable options so a lot of coaches are considering one of the King's for R3.
Someone previously said Melbourne has a lot early doors
cheers all. The doggies were great last year for the loophole. i was looking at gold coast and melbourne but i think with your help ill go with melbourne.
I'm going with Read from Geelong.
6 of Geelong's first 9 games are either Sat night, Sun or Mon. By then everyone will have other options for loophole due to injuries, omissions or resting.
Here she is lads
My first pass team, plenty of changes to be made depending on starting rookies and injuries over the next couple of weeks.
Mids are locked/ Defenders possible change/ Fwd and Ruck looking at options still.
DEF: K.Kolo; J.Thurlow; T.Cutler; L.McDonald; J.Aish; M.Brown
(D.Tucker; R.Bonner)
MID: G.Ablett; D.Armitage; O.Wines; D.Shiel; T.Rockliff; P.Cripps; T.Libatore; B.Crouch
(C.Mills; R.Mathieson; D.Macpherson)
RUCK: S.Mumford; N.Naitanui (C.Loersch)
FWD: S.Gray; L.Franklin; R.Stanley; D.Wells; C.Kerridge; C.Petracca
(D.Hamilton; N.Kommer)
Biggest change im currently looking at is taking out Mumford putting Stanley up there and putting Choppstix in.
A team unlike any posted here. So used to all the teams looking remarkably similar. Congrats on going completely against the shoal.
agreed. nice change of scenery
Well done on the different team. Not for me though
I think you've started too far behind the pack in terms of premiums (especially in your backline) and have therefore left yourself with a lot of trading to do. You may find yourself having to burn many trades early on just to keep up with other teams that started with the right players.
On the upside, you probably have a fair amount of cash in the bank? And at least your team looks different.
i really like the Cutler pick. He has been on my watch list all preseason. I wouldn't have him at D3 though, more likely D4 or D5.
I just dont see any value what so ever in the premium Defenders. KK being the exception and maybe Bartel, though we dont know how he will be played this year.
I feel like every year that comes and goes, the higher paid for defenders always drop in price big time for mediocre starts to the year.
The only other premo Mid i would want atm is Fyfe. Though im pretty content for what i have.
Glad to have a different team than everyone else, the herd is where i went wrong last year 😉
$143k left in the kitty, but still first build.
What's people thoughts on Daniel Menzel?
We need to see his NAB campaign first as he still is somewhat of an unknown quantity having barely played any footy in the past 5 years.
Was impressive in his return game late last season with 119 SC pts but there is a lot of competition at the <$300K price range for forwards. Injury susceptibility is also a major drawback.
Probably a smokey option at best but let's see. Expected to play this Friday I believe.
thanks do you think for around that price wells is a better option or just go down to a rookie to play on field
Rather have a rookie
Anyone heard about Andrew Walker from Carlton?
Is he injured?
no but he probably will be at some point. he would be a great pickup if he reaches that form of a few years ago though.
BURNMAN! DON'T GO THERE!
A lot of Blues suffered fantasy wise under the Mick regime and 1AW is certainly one candidate that could experience a scoring hike, depending on his form and how he is used under Bolts.
But durability concerns does make him a fairly risky midpricer for the money even if he is selected for Rd1.
So I would probably look elsewhere unless you're happy to take a punt on him and potentially burn a trade if things go pear shaped.
Thoughts on Maric as my R1?
Fork out an extra 40k and get Maxy Gawn in your side.
An interesting POD, should be able to maintain a similar average
Probably slightly underpriced but doubtful he can crack top 5 in the ruck dept by season end.
So perhaps better as an R2 option with a blue chipper like Goldy/Martin/NicNat/Jacobs at R1.
I think it's a bit simplistic to say Yeo is an out because of the Eagles/Crows game. Standing up by yourself when you've got Giles as your ruckman, against Jacobs, then going against a strong side in the middle with Thompson, Crouch, Douglas etc, it sometimes doesn't matter how good you are as an individual, you'll just not be able to get anything done. The Crows had almost twice the amount of possessions as the Eagles (340 to 180), to expect Yeo to be able to pull anything out of that might be a bit unfair.
I'll wait to see how he goes in a full strength side, I think that's the only way you can get a real look at how he'll go.
Agree Barron.
It was Men vs Boys. Yeo will be better when the elite players are around him. Don't think even Priddis would of scored well in that Eagles team.
If there's one upside to the Yeo No Show is that plenty of coaches are now reassessing and even jumping off making him bit more of a POD than otherwise would be the case.
So I'm personally ok if his remaining NAB games are merely respectable rather than impressive.
For the last thing we need is for him to crank out a 130 in either NAB2 or 3 and then every [email protected] to jump back on ha ha.
Makes me wonder about picking any bombers other than the cheapo rookies
When i heard that Masten was injured, Yeo was alot more appealing as his chances of getting more mid-field time increased.
The fact that he was in the midfield on the weekend was a good sigh
Wise words Baz, I'm prepared to ignore Smith and Yeo scores from that game for the reasons you stated above. Also, it was 38 degrees, both players are locks in their respective 22's, they probably couldn't be stuffed trying.
Whats everyone's thoughts on dahlhaus?
Like Dahl Mont.
I have had him in and out. Just want to see what effect Libba coming back has on him. May take some of the midfield minutes off Dahl that he had in 2015.
Love Dahl. Been one of the main stayers in my team since the start of this season. Cant fault him as a pick.
too expensive to start with. He will score well if Dogs have another good year. I'll wait to see how the dogs are going
Gday community, brilliant work as always Jock.

Jock your intro gave me tingles, love the footy
How many leagues can be entered this year pls?
Pretty sure its 10 nifty
Thanks Hedeski..
Yes if you check out the rules for 2016 it states 10 leagues.
I also notice we are back to playing the GF in Rd23 so will have to make sure I cut back on my intake of Freo players lol.
They have the bye round before finals start this year SC, so shouldn't be a need for anyone to rest players that last round. That said, no knowing what Ross "I hate fantasy players" Lyons would do.
Yes and they do have a home game in Rd23 which helps too but with Rossy you can never take anything for granted. 🙂
594974 league code.
Looking for some good competition. Top 1% is preferable but the more the merrier.
I'm in, rank 3,101 last year.
Have joined. Finished top 600 last year.
I have also joined… finished 659 last season
Thanks Stiffy. 76th Overall last year (1st in NSW)
Thanks fellas! Keep joining community!
I'm in. I'm rubbish. ONce scored a one week ranking of 283 though.
I'm in. Finished 300 odd last year
Top 1000 last year and hoping to improve on that this year. Joined and looking forward to the stiff competition
Top 800 two seasons ago. 2015 wasn't pretty though (outside top 10000). Let me know if that is acceptable Stiffy.
Holty get in my league mate!
Cheers mate. I'm in
Hey community, bit of a pressing issue I've got.
Quadzilla/Parker at M5 and Lobbe
or
B. Crouch at M6 and Stef Martin.
My other R1 is Goldy and current MID is as follows
Pendles, Ablett, Priddis, Rockliff, Wines, Libba, Mills, Gresham, (Rooks).
Basically, do I go set and forget Rucks with Stef and Goldy and have two mid pricers in MID or increase premo concentration in the MID and have Lobbe who will inevitably be upgraded to Stef/Sauce type.
I have always been for Premo Set Forget ruck and currently have Goldy and Martin. So that's what i would say to do.
Not buying into the Lobbe hype. Scored poorly when he played last year. Cant pass up the potential 220 + each week from Goldy and Martin
