Round 22 Supercoach Scouting Report

Published by Barron Von Crow on

Crave Designs - stunning water featuresBarron Von Crow - inner sanctum

Howdy folks, its Barron Von Crow here and we are bringing you the second last Supercoach Scouting Report for 2015. It’s Round 22, which means it’s the Grand Final in Leagues if you were lucky enough to make it that far.

If you didn’t have no fear because you still have your overall ranking to consider, so don’t go taking your hands of the wheel just yet.

There is some bad news for us Supercoachers however. The Supercoach Gods have a weird sense of humour, weird like they enjoy new Eddie Murphy movies better than Beverly Hills Cop or Coming to America weird. And what is that bad news? Well it’s that both Nat Fyfe (injury) and Luke Hodge (suspension) will be missing from the Supercoach Grand Final with both players being two of the most heavily owned players in Supercoach. So hopefully you have managed to hold onto a few trades, because you’re going to need them. And that’s not even the end of it, with both Marc Murphy and Jack Redden being put on the shelf for the rest of the year, as well as last weeks late withdrawal in Tom Mitchell also still as a potential out as well.

But all is not lost Jock Reynolds Community, because we’re still going to do our best, and part of that is ensuring we pick the best possible captain this week, and that’s where I come in. So let’s go get moving and see what Round 21 has in store for us!

Also, remember to look out for the red and green Supercoach scores, RED = bad, GREEN = good which may help you out when it comes to picking your captains for the week

captainCaptain Pick(s): This will likely come down to Joel Selwood VS Scott Pendlebury and you’d have to think Selwood would be the clear winner. Dane Swan has been pretty poor against the Cats in recent games so I’d probably skip him as a VC candidate. Selwood would be my choice here.

captainCaptain Pick(s): Carlton are slowly running out of soldiers, with Marc Murphy now on the sidelines with injury. You’d think that this would give the GWS mids such as Treloar, Griffen and Ward a leg up and one of them could potentially put up a big score. Matty Kreuzer looked to be in tip top form last week with a score of 147 Supercoach Points. He has a previous score of 122 against the Giants from a few years ago, if you feel like taking a risk, he’d be an interesting pick. And of course, Heath Shaw showed what a star he is with a Round 21 high of 164 Supercoach Points last week. The question will be will the ball get back to him enough for him to put up another big score? He’s still someone to consider though.

captainCaptain Pick(s): Both Tom Rockliff and Dayne Zorko carried a big load for the Lions last week and could be forced to do so again here, even moreso with Redden now being an out for them. You’d think they’d be reliant on Tom Rockliff especially, with his tackle count always giving his scores a boost. The Hawks will be without Luke Hodge, so that’d make you look at Jordan Lewis or Sam Mitchell, but Jarryd Roughead could also be another interesting option. He’s had some good scores against the Lions in his last 3 games against them and Taylor Walker kicked a career high 7 goals against the Lions last week, so they could be venerable in defence. Of course that could mean that Jack Gunston is the one who gets off the chain too.

captainCaptain Pick(s): Todd Goldstein looms as the best choice here. He’s been slowing down a tad in the last few weeks compared to earlier in the year, but the Bulldogs won’t have a ruckman who can hang with Goldy, so I imagine he’ll be winning every contest he goes to. He’ll be an ideal VC or C candidate depending on who else you have in your side.

captainCaptain Pick(s): The Bombers were better last week with a close game against the Gold Coast, but I can’t see them getting close to Richmond in this one. Which means if you have a Deledio or Dustin Martin on your team, you could give them some serious consideration. Trent Cotchin could be an option too, he’s been quiet lately so he should be looking to have a big game, but I’d probably stay away from that option.

Both Dangerfield and Sloane have been in tip top form over the past month for the Crows, Danger was slightly down last week against the Lions, but was terrific earlier in the year when these two teams faced. Sam Jacobs has also been in great form, but he typically struggles against the more athletic Naitanui. For the Eagles, both Priddis and Naitanui present good options too, with both having several good games in recent meetings.

captainCaptain Pick(s): The usual midfielders can be looked at here for the Swans, JPK and Hannebery, as well as Mitchell if he does line up for the Swans. At this time of the week you’d be looking at your Captain pick, so I’d probably go for JPK above anyone else.

captainCaptain Pick(s): This was originally going to be the perfect spot to pick Nat Fyfe as a Captain for the week, but he’s now out, so that honour now moves over to Mundy, Neale and Sandilands. Both of Neale and Mundy had great games when these two played earlier in the year, the Demons are struggling and I’d expect one of them to repeat the feat this week.

perfect 9Perfect 9 Pick: David Mundy

BARRON VON CROWS CAPTAIN SELECTION(S):

For me it’ll be a Todd Goldstein as Vice Captain and Dangerfield as Captain ticket. A win for the Crows will lock them in the 8, so I’m expecting Danger to put in a great effort and Goldstein should bring the goods against the Bullies.

So who are you guys looking at for your VC/C picks this week? Let us know in the comments below and good luck in the last week of Supercoach and all those who are playing in a league Grand Final!

LJB

Need a def and have 462k. Who should I get in?

Just Adcock

T-mac may have turned it around and if he can recapture some of the form he showed earlier in the year he could be a bargain then id go murphy laird gibson

Kev

Been another fantastic year of articles, BVC, cheers mate. Selwood into Gray for me this week

Lily

All you boys our there, prove your worth 😉

I need 2 midfielders this week, choosing out of: T. Boak, B. Deledio, S. Mitchell, T. Rockliff, D. Zorko, B. Harvey & S. Motlop.

Already Have:

P. Dangerfield, S. Pendlebury, M. Priddis, R. Sloane, D. Mundy and JPK (trading Fyfe + Hodge)

What combination is best? Any different players you suggest? Please help!!

hedski

Motlop and lids for sure.

BomberSam

Rockliff and Lids.

Danners

Simple, Rockliff and Deledio

hedski

Playing gf cash league against mate.
$5 side bet on our vc’s.
Motlop vs Sidebum.
Who wins?

Waco

Sidebum by a whiska

Antspies

Need a defender to replace Hodge money no problem. I have Shaw, Simpson, Tmac, Newnes, Gibo and godard and a no body on bench.

tossing up out if Houli. RANCE. HURLEY. ENRIGHT and Picken

please help in a tight gf

cheers fellas

Danners

Picken, a defender playing in the midfield

Liam

who to VC and C out of:

Danger, Priddis, Shaw, Gray, Selwood, JPK

S Man

I’d VC Selwood, seems to like playing the pies

Liam

VC selwood and C danger or priddis

S Man

Need to pick two mids. Looking at the following based on prices

Rocky and JPK/Sloane/Treloar/Titch/Bennell/Motlop

Lids and Treloar/Titch/Bennell/Motlop

Danger/Selwood and Titch/Motlop

derek

I would stay away from Danger, Sloane & Rocky based on who they have to play.

Danners

JPK and Rocketman

derek

lock in JPK. I had him as my C last week and will be thinking the same this week against the saints.

Jayden

1 Trade, gotta trade hodge or smurph

Current defence – shaw, hodge, newnes, burgoyne, simpson, docherty (peace and goddard)
Mids – pendles, danger, priddis, j selwood, m murphy, hannerby, kennedy and steven (heeney, knight, kavanagh)

With the option of possibly moving dusty, robbie gray, swan, goddard or higgins around if there is a better option up forward?

Currently thinking heeney has the highest chance of a decent score out of my bench cover, so am i best to move hodge on to another top defender? if so who lol

Jayden

Coin is no issue

Danners

Hodge-Picken, better having Heeney on the field over Pearce/Goddard

Mutombo

Who would we have on field out of Krak, Laverde, Fantasia? I need two of the three.

Liam

krak and laverde. fantazia will probably be the sub.

derek

Sammy Mitchell will miss this week. He must still have a sore knee from Fyfe running into it with his thigh.

derek

If Hodge is already out and SMitchell also missing, and they are playing Lions in Tassie, someone could be in for a massive day. Lewis? ISmith? Rioli? my guess is Burgoyne will play in the mids(like he did when Lewis and Hodge were out earlier in the year.

I N Pieman

Good luck those playing in GF's this week. Unless your one of the unlucky 5 people playing me. Apologies in advance

Smithers

In two league grand finals and currently have a settled full squad to choose from, 1 trade left and no cash. Weakest players on field would be:
Back: Saad/Ibbotson bench: Goddard maynard
Mid: Cripps/Lewis Bench:Steele, Obrien, Glenn
Fwd: Bartel Bench McKernan, Garner (Would have liked Garner to stay out so I could loophole Bartel and McKernan)
My main worry is probably Ibbo and thinking hold my trade all weekend incase a late out, then go Ibbo to Johnson?

derek

I think Saad is out

derek

Saad to M Johnson.

BomberSam

Back: Ibbo, Saad is out, right?

Mid: Lewis, no Hodge or Mitchell and playing the Lions in Tassie. Will be relied upon for a big game.

Fwd: Bartel

I have Ibbo, you never know what you are going to get.

Mister_Spock

Made the GF, but need cover for Fyfe with no trades left…

Choice of either:

1. Lambert
2. Krakouer; or
3. Nick O'Brien

Any thoughts?

gazdog

Lambert, against Essendon, it seems a good pick and has the highest ceiling.

gazdog

URGENT HELP PLEASE!!

I have Pendles, Danger, Priddis, Neale, Lewis, Rocky, JPK and FYFE (bench: steele, r.knight, dumont)
WHO TO BRING IN FOR FYFE??
Thinking of Guthrie, J.Selwood, Treloar, Mundy or Sloane???

WombatsFC

I'm thinking that Jock might actually be Warnie. Why do think that?
Is it the, wig, gambling addiction and racism crudely disguised as humour? Or is it the sexism, exaggerated claims of sexual prowess and total disregard for sponsors and supporters?

No, it's the fact that he promoted the hell out of the 'community' aspect and how it was all about the game whilst he profited from the hard work and input of blokes like Throttlefinger, Dexter, Silent Achiever, Piesman, et al to produce a book that generated enough cash for him and his cohorts to comfortably retire.
The truly Warnie bit was when he pulled the pin on the 'Community' just when the competition was coming to the business end of the season.

Jock's not really not as bad as Warnie, Warnie uses more than 83% of the donations to the 'Warne Foundation' to pay for his parties and pay management salary to family members. Lol, we called Murali a cheat.
