Hello Community! This is a message to the Supercoach Gods – on behalf of the community, you can go and get stuffed! First, you take away GAJ and Rocky at the start of our seasons, then you bring Rocky back only to again take him away, then you take Sloane away not once but twice, and now you again take GAJ?! What the hell is wrong with you? Seriously, are you bored with your lot in life and want to inflict pain and misery on the good and humble folk of our great game? I ask, no I demand, that you stop it immediately. You hear me?

Can this year just stop trying to roger us every which way possible?!! Just when we think it is back on track, and the bald magical beast is back pumping out supreme tonnage, Matt Shaw’s bonce of unwashed blonde shag accidentally takes out the knee of the chosen one. Shaw should be delisted for this crime against Supercoaches. GAJ was going to be the difference for many of us, he was our ticket back up the charts and prove the winning move for our finals series as his price would preclude many of our competitors to afford the great man. No longer. The plan is broken. Stick a fork in me community, because I am well and truly cooked!

It’s been a tough round for a bunch of coaches. For the 33% of coaches who scrimped and saved for our saviour, we are now buggered, having to use another trade and losing significant points this week to rectify GAJ. If that wasn’t enough, then Beams and Buddy’s late withdrawals inflicted some more hurt. And if that wasn’t enough, we had some royal smelly turds produced by Armitage, Rocky, Maric and T-Mac who were all unable break 65. And then, if that wasn’t enough, we have Tom Mitchell starting as sub – really, Longmire, have a look at yourself and take the game seriously! For coaches, like me, who have a decent number of those players, it has been another tough week.

On the positive side, there were some premiums doing what they should like Danger, Priddis and Hodge all going seriously large pumping out scores of 140 plus and then we had some long lost premiums back to their best in Lewis and Selwood also breaking the magical 140 and thankfully the Wolfman Fyfe was back to his best. There were also some impressive performances from Jack Macrae (who has continued a remarkable run of recent form) , and some old men of the game like NRoo and Petrie! Special mention to Boomer also who turned it on in his 400th by pumping out a 107 (you may recall me mentioning him as a good inclusion in last week’s Check-In). BJ Goddard (also mentioned last week) was back to his best with a 117 – both tasty options for those with the luxury of building deep bench cover.

So what is this week’s dilemma?

For a lot of coaches, myself included, it will be dealing with GAJ and maybe Beams. The only dilemma is who I go to, it will be difficult to go past a Dangerfield or Priddis, now is not the time to get cute, we need ultra-premiums capable of bursting through the 140 barrier with ultra-high ceilings. Both Danger and Priddis qualify in my opinion. The other thought in my mind is to build some added flexibility into the team and turn GAJ into Hodge.

For those coaches without GAJ, depending on your number trades, I suspect focus will turn to the backline where (other than Shaw and Hodge) it has been quite difficult finding consistent premiums. I know a few coaches in the top 1,000 are still running the likes of Ibbotson or Brodie Smith, perhaps now is the time to look a little higher up the quality spectrum. One player to consider in this dilemma is Dylan Roberton of the Saints who produced a whopping 144 against the Dees. Before you jump to the automatic conclusion and think I have lost my mind, this guy has been in seriously hot form – averaging 115 over his past 6 games and is also a serious POD in less than 3.5% of teams. I like those figures!

So what am I thinking about this week?

Last week I ended up ditching Thurlow for Hurley (a serious POD in decent form). I was looking for a defender for less than $470k and was considering T-Mac, Houli or a cheaper option like Kelly but went with Hurley who is in less than 3% of teams. Kelly looks an absolute steal and a great option for those coaches who can afford to build bench cover down back. My plan was to save some cash and look to grab Hodge in place of Brodie Smith this week. However, with GAJ looking like his season is over, I will be trading him out – just not sure who comes in as yet.

What are you thinking about community?

Over to you community, the poll this week is, what will you do?

r2d2 · 27/07/2015 at 13:54

Bought gaz in 2 weeks ago ……. Only handful of teams in leagues had him …. Gutted about this latest inj !!! Stay out his way shaw you Muppet

Sarah · 27/07/2015 at 13:54

Gaz to Danger… but toying with the idea of bringing Sloane back in as a POD… am I crazy???

    BKW · 27/07/2015 at 14:04

Unless you have 6+ trades I wouldn’t go there – very risky

    PDAP · 27/07/2015 at 16:19

    Don't.

    Swans2012 · 27/07/2015 at 17:24

    I’m considering also….

    Skindog · 27/07/2015 at 18:25

After beating me this weekend, do what you want(field of danger?) I don't care anymore,, who's up for Supercoach 2016????

      Sarah · 27/07/2015 at 20:44

Haha, yes I'm Field of Danger!! I didn't beat many teams on the weekend! Are you B2B2B Hawks FC or Tbone 88?
I can't wait for next year either. Might just trade in Danger. Might be the last time I can have him in my team in crows colours anyway. Hope he stays or I'm going to have to change my team name next year!!

@revdobbo · 27/07/2015 at 14:01

Gaz to Danger as well

BKW · 27/07/2015 at 14:05

Gaz to Priddis

And possibly a second trade of McKernan to Bartel

MC · 27/07/2015 at 14:16

Just did a quick calculation… 17 of my 26 trades used so far have been due to injuries.

I'm sure it's similar for everyone, but boy oh boy what a season..

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 27/07/2015 at 21:19

Yeah i think i am around 18 or so. Bloody cruel, make that 19 with gaz this week

General Soreness · 27/07/2015 at 14:17

Great write up Chicko…..having dodge most of the early carnage I was relatively content, but the recent carnage has kicked me fair and square in the plums!

I have Priddis, do not have Danger, I am going to go for the biggest POD I can find and bring him in – if it fails, I went down swinging!!!

    derek · 27/07/2015 at 16:50

    you don't mean…StevieJ?

      General Soreness · 28/07/2015 at 10:12

I said going down swinging, not giving up!!! lol

    Skindog · 27/07/2015 at 18:27

Go General, POD it! take a swing, but do tell? ill go out swingin with ya!!

    Swans2012 · 27/07/2015 at 18:47

General I’ll be swinging with you, brain says hanneberry or priddis, need for pod says maybe sidey??

    Luke · 27/07/2015 at 20:07

    sideyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

    Dean · 27/07/2015 at 23:21

That carnage which kicked you fair and square in the plums would have caused some General Soreness no doubt. lol

      General Soreness · 28/07/2015 at 10:11

      Definitely mate. lol

Carter · 27/07/2015 at 14:20

Contemplating Ablett-Bennell, A.Pearce-Kelly

Any thoughts community? Leaves me 2 trades which makes me nervous for cash leagues.

The Ranger · 27/07/2015 at 14:46

Spot on as always Chicko.
The Great Ones injury is the final, hilarious, insult.
I carefully planned to bring him in and took the risk of going into finals with only 3 trades in order to do it.
Ah, well, onwards and upwards.
Like the General I'll be looking for a decent POD just for kicks.
Macrae and Treloar both looked good at the weekend….

    Rawkus11 · 28/07/2015 at 15:54

    Treloar looks a good option!

@KrazeeEyezK1lla · 27/07/2015 at 15:36

Brought in GAJ for Beams to try and get ahead, and boy did that fail haha would have been better off taking Steele's 60 odd due to Beams not playing. At least I would have saved a trade. Stupid bloody supercoach

    Swans2012 · 27/07/2015 at 18:50

It’s a brutal game isn’t it…..even though I copped a lot of carnage (beams, rocky captain, Tom Mitchell, Ablett) I sort of somehow enjoyed the shocks this round. Just one after a frigging nother…..

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 27/07/2015 at 21:43

Yeah the abs trade was meant to put me out ahead of the pack as not many could afford him well now he is going to shaw via dpp, titch to bartel or goddard liking bartel and then in 2 weeks the bont to hannas, armitage, ward with the cash i saved going gaz to shaw. Leaves me with two in the trade cupboard.

James · 27/07/2015 at 15:39

Hannebery, Priddis or Danger for Gaz?

    Ashley J · 27/07/2015 at 16:01

    danger

    Pinidu.C · 27/07/2015 at 16:56

    Priddis,much better disposal efficiency

      Marcus · 27/07/2015 at 20:22

If you have the spare money danger is th best option

    Danners · 28/07/2015 at 12:39

    Priddis, more reliable

Adam · 27/07/2015 at 15:50

How many trades is everyone taking into finals im lookn at 5 or 4 ???

    Rawkus11 · 28/07/2015 at 15:55

I'l have 5. That should be a good amount this year!

Pauly Walnuts · 27/07/2015 at 16:02

With all the carnage this year I will only have 2

    Adam · 27/07/2015 at 16:09

I have some how avoided the carnage had 6 after this weekend, done 1 trade possibly 1 more

      Nato · 27/07/2015 at 17:35

im looking at taking 3 into finals (using 4th on Gaz)

        Adam · 27/07/2015 at 17:41

Yeah think il use my 5th for cash generator which will leave me 4 trades and around 300k

    Swans2012 · 27/07/2015 at 18:51

2 if beams survives, one of not

      Swans2012 · 27/07/2015 at 18:51

      That’s if not

    randomcliche · 27/07/2015 at 22:41

Zilch. Zip. Bag if doughnuts. And no pants. Sad.

Son of Jock · 27/07/2015 at 16:38

i have 8 trades left and will be going gas to danger

should i then look to traded Tom Mitchell to a Forward under 520k or downgrade one of dale, hamling, steele to a non playing for loophole

    Pinidu.C · 27/07/2015 at 16:55

No point trading Titch. Sub will be a one off

      Tyler · 27/07/2015 at 17:18

How do you know? I think it's pretty likely

    PDAP · 28/07/2015 at 12:26

    Heeney will take his place.

    Danners · 28/07/2015 at 12:39

Wait to see what happens with Mitchell, if he is sub affected again next week, trade

    Dean · 28/07/2015 at 17:04

Seriously consider trading Titch ASAP mate, For the Horse to have made him the SUB in a game against WCE without Buddy & Tippet was the silliest coach move I have seen this year.

Alarm bells are ringing Re: Horse & Titch – You have a ton of trades left make good use of them & bring in Bartel or Delidio for Titch.
I would hate having him in my side with the finals approaching.

MOC · 27/07/2015 at 16:40

Gonna go for a left field pick in Macrae for Gaz. He's been dominating last few weeks and has pretty easy run home. Thoughts?

    Pinidu.C · 27/07/2015 at 16:54

JPK and Mundy are both much better picks and also points of difference

    LEKD0G · 28/07/2015 at 01:27

I suggested him the week he came back from being dropped, i love this pick

Pinidu · 27/07/2015 at 16:50

I have 5 trades left and my only weaknesses are Griffen and Maric. Griffen hasn't dropped below 90 for five weeks so there's no point trading him out just yet. What about Maric to Stefan Martin this week? Thoughts?

    Jazawn · 27/07/2015 at 17:13

Maric has a very easy run over the finals, only Jacobs is notable opposition. He even plays the ruckless Essendon in the SC GF. Hampson is now injured meaning he'll be their lone ruckman.
Hoping he goes back to his mid-season blistering form.

    LEKD0G · 28/07/2015 at 01:28

Maric will bounce back with Hampson out

Pinidu,C · 27/07/2015 at 16:54

Thoughts on my team?

50K and 5 trades left
D: Hodge, Shaw, Burph, Hibbo, Simmo, Newnes (Hamling, Edwards)
M: Fyfe, Danger, Pendles, JPK, Selwood, Rocky, Lewis, Griffen (Lambert, Neal Bullen, Steele)
R: Goldy, Ivan (Lucey)
F: Gray, Dusty, Swan, Buddy, Titch, Bont (Daniel, Dale)

Thinking of trading Maric to Stef Martin or Nic Nat. Thoughts?

    randomcliche · 27/07/2015 at 22:44

    Hold. Actually bang bang Bartel.

    Danners · 28/07/2015 at 12:38

    Griffen should be gone first

derek · 27/07/2015 at 16:55

I traded out Sam Mitchell last week to get Gaz in. Not going to go back to Sammy, was thinking a straight trade to Dangerfield is the best bet.

Sidebottom is tempting and so is Rocky.

    Favalinko U Beauty · 27/07/2015 at 18:03

I have gone Sidebottom to save some cash then will go Lever to Picken next week. Did you trade Motlop Derek?

      Swans2012 · 27/07/2015 at 18:52

Yep I’m tossing up priddis and sidey, brain says priddis, pod value says sidey

      Derek · 28/07/2015 at 09:05

I still have Motlop, he loopholed very nicely last weekend. Thank you

        Nifty · 28/07/2015 at 14:59

Thanks mate.. You got me with that..

brent · 27/07/2015 at 17:20

danger or priddis

    Danners · 28/07/2015 at 12:37

    Priddis

Lachie · 27/07/2015 at 17:29

Thoughts on my team?

5 trades and 25k in the bank
Do i need to trade this week?

DEF: Shaw, Hodge, Picken, Laird, Murphy, Gibson (Kelly, Pearce)
MID: Fyfe, Pendles, Priddis, Danger, JPK, Ward, Ellis, Armitage (Steele, Amon, O'brien)
RUC: Nic nat, Goldy ( Cox)
FWD: Gray, Dusty, Swan, Deledio, Wingard, Gawn (Lambert, Dale)

    Marcus · 27/07/2015 at 20:25

Hold your trades you have a good team

    randomcliche · 27/07/2015 at 22:45

    Sweet team bud.

    Swans2012 · 27/07/2015 at 22:58

Best team I’ve seen for a while, Yep let rookies fatten and then look for some more cover if no carnage.
    I like that backline…

    Lachie · 28/07/2015 at 08:24

    Thanks guys

    Derek · 28/07/2015 at 11:58

I’m not a big fan of Gawn. He has been going ok, but I wouldn’t trust him.

    Danners · 28/07/2015 at 12:36

Great team, if you wanted to do some minor adjustments, maybe move Gawn on and see how Ellis goes in the next couple weeks

    Dean · 28/07/2015 at 22:17

Awesome team mate. I do not understand why some are knocking Gawn. You would be crazy to trade him out at the moment.
Look at his scores this season: 98-118-146-66-150-105-110 – In his 7 games he has played this season, the guy has scored impeccably well. Not to mention he gives you Ruck cover also.

Sumuk · 27/07/2015 at 17:36

I have 9 trades and 555k left.

Luckily, I didn't get Gaz last wk. Now, I am thinking of trading Andrew Swallow to a Dangerfield or Priddis. Is this a good trade.

And What should I do with T-Mac with his unreliable scores down back??

Thanks Community

    LEKD0G · 28/07/2015 at 01:30

    Swallow to Danger, hold T-Mac

Mac · 27/07/2015 at 18:42

Thoughts? 4 trades with $134,000

Shaw, Hodge, Gibson, Murphy, Simpson, Newnes, Pearce, Goddard
Ablett, Fyfe, Beams, JPK, Parker, Priddis, Treloar, Rockliff, O'Brien, Steele, Adamson
Goldstein, Maric, Read
Gray, Martin, Swan, Franklin, Dahlhaus, Goddard, Lambert, Daniel

Was thinking of going Ablett to Dangerfield then Beams to Pendles, Hanners, Armitage, Wines? That would leave me with 2 trades and still 100k in the bank. Then I plan to hold trades for a couple of weeks and once O'Brien and Steele have maxed their money making, downgrade one and upgrade the other to a premium for bench cover. Maric is a pain but don't want to waste a trade.

Thoughts?

    randomcliche · 27/07/2015 at 22:46

    Yep hold Maric.

    Danners · 28/07/2015 at 12:35

    Those trades sound good

    Jim · 28/07/2015 at 15:49

Ablett to Dangerfield and Beams to Pendles sounds good.
Maric is a bit of a pain but I agree with holding him.
Once Steele and O'brien have maxed out, you will then downgrade upgrade to get a premium bench cover?
Only thing being that you will not have any further trades left incase of injuries. Maybe don't go for bench cover and hold trades??
    Just a thought.

Tulendeena · 27/07/2015 at 18:47

Gaz to Mundy and Steele to Bartel

    tom · 27/07/2015 at 18:55

Is that the trades you are making Tulendeena? Becuase I'm thinking along the same lines…

      Swans2012 · 27/07/2015 at 19:39

Just beware lyin Lyons resting strategies at year end with Mundy, but seems a good pick other than that….

        Derek · 28/07/2015 at 09:11

        WARNING

Fremantle play West Coast Round 20. Massive game for them.

Round 19, first week of SC finals, they play Saints in Melbourne on a Sunday!

The game against Saints screams Ross Lyon resting players.

        WARNING

      Tulendeena · 27/07/2015 at 20:55

      Exactly, barring Beams' shoulder surgery

I N Pieman · 27/07/2015 at 18:49

Very nicely summed up chicko mate. I’m considering a sneaky Gaz & Hamling to 2 450k odd value picks. Not sure who yet but could be a good opportunity to stock up for the inevitable carnage that awaits. If you can use this opportunity to turn a non playing spud into a value pick it could pay off

    Redgumwon · 28/07/2015 at 14:07

I've been thinking of Gaz & Krak to Sidebottom & Bartel

      I N Pieman · 28/07/2015 at 16:37

Don’t mind it at all red

Swans2012 · 27/07/2015 at 18:55

Off topic a bit, but can anyone tell me if you can access supercoach in Bali?

I know it sounds stupid but haven’t been to indo this time of year for ages and got a vague recollection of not being able to in the past. I know they bar all punting websites as that has cost me in past….

    Tyler · 27/07/2015 at 19:48

I don't know, but you should be able to get onto it thru vpn or vpn websites

    Reggie · 27/07/2015 at 21:01

You can access supercoach oversea's as its not country specific. Just log in as usual.

    Swans2012 · 27/07/2015 at 22:25

Thanks Tyler will keep that in mind, dunno anything about vpn but will give it a crack if need be.
Thanks reg, used elsewhere just know I’ve been denied access to all sorts of other gambling related websites in indo in the past, supercoach not gambling but might fall under that umbrella.

      randomcliche · 27/07/2015 at 22:48

Tunnel bear works fine on my android. Free 500mb.

        Swans2012 · 27/07/2015 at 22:52

Thanks random, will check it out, but looking below may not need to.

    RobDog · 27/07/2015 at 22:37

I was in Bali a couple of years ago during the season and had no trouble accessing SC. Every place I've ever stayed in over there has free wifi too, so no problems.

      Swans2012 · 27/07/2015 at 22:54

Exactly what I wanted to hear! Thanks rob

    Woodman · 28/07/2015 at 00:34

Bali has excellent wifi internet. I did my supercoach finals last year over there without a problem and will do it again this year.

tom · 27/07/2015 at 19:08

Any news on Beams?

    D-mac · 27/07/2015 at 20:09

He'll go in for surgery before the seasons out. Just a matter of when

    Danners · 28/07/2015 at 12:33

None yet, might hear in the next couple of days

    Dean · 28/07/2015 at 17:13

Two of the Lions' biggest names are strong chances to return against Geelong on Saturday, with Dayne Beams (shoulder) and Pearce Hanley (hamstring) both recovering well. The pair were late withdrawals from last weekend's loss against North Melbourne, but Hanley was a cautious omission and is almost certain to return. Beams is a bigger question mark still, having carried the injured shoulder for weeks, but is believed to be right in the frame to play the Cats. – Michael Whiting

Francis · 27/07/2015 at 20:41

Priddis or Mundy?

    Francis · 27/07/2015 at 20:48

    or Gaff

    Dylan · 28/07/2015 at 11:10

All good options. Look at your remaining opponents and see who they have. And then it’s going to depend on whether you want to be different, or whether you want to negate the awesome player your opponent has by having the same guy

    Danners · 28/07/2015 at 12:30

If you need a captain option-Priddis, consistent scorer-Mundy, POD-Gaff, take your pick

iamme · 27/07/2015 at 21:07

Priddis, the guys very consistent & remember he has a top score this season 0f 196

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 27/07/2015 at 22:39

Ah memories the week i brought him in again for an injury this time i think it was sloane

LongJimmy · 27/07/2015 at 21:43

Where is the promised donor podcast Jock ?

    Barney · 28/07/2015 at 16:07

Yeah-I hope Jock hasn’t forgotten about us Club Jock members

      Tony · 28/07/2015 at 19:38

      Good comment Barney. Well Jock???

My 'tinypass' account got cancelled by Jock yesterday – doesn't bode well for Donors' Podcasts. :O(

throttlefinger · 27/07/2015 at 23:28

Excellent rant, Chicko. Saved the best for almost last.

No trades so stuck with what I got. Hey, why should the pain end early?

    Wattsieesq · 28/07/2015 at 14:05

No trades? I see you have been applying the Crouching one SC philosophy lol.

I hope all's going well. I'm doing ok this year. Sitting in the top 1,000 with 5 trades after getting rid of Gaz.

      throttlefinger · 28/07/2015 at 20:26

Haha. No more like the Knucklehead one, Wattsie.

Glad to learn you are ripping it up. Keep at it. We'll have to get in a league next season, my man!

        Wattsieesq · 29/07/2015 at 12:52

Haha, you live and learn mate. I'm sure 2016 will be a lot better.

We'll definately have to get into a leauge next year. I'd love to enter the Throttledome : )

Roodog · 28/07/2015 at 00:17

Who's best downgrade option in defence this week, Goddard or Browne? Goddard got subbed last week so not sure of his JS?

    Danners · 28/07/2015 at 12:28

Browne, Essendon must be happy if they brought him in again after missing a game

Girdle · 28/07/2015 at 04:22

Stretch to Payne (loophole option) &

Steele to BJ Goddard (before predicted steep price rise).

Would leave me with two trades for finals. Whaddya think?

    Lachie · 28/07/2015 at 08:22

    good

murray · 28/07/2015 at 09:52

Only 4 trades left and need to win some big money leagues matches this round to hold my league positions
I can go N Brown to Kelly and Beams (if req'd) to Priddis this week

Sound trades? or should I hold until finals

    Derek · 28/07/2015 at 12:00

    Kelly is a great trade

Dylan · 28/07/2015 at 11:05

Venting: hodge’s 140 as VC wasn’t good enough, was it? I had to take a punt on GAJ to put score him as captain didn’t I?? AND I missed out on trading to make some cash. At least I still managed to win all three of my leagues. I’ve gone GAJ to Priddis. Hard to refuse! Nearly went Priddis over GAJ a couple of weeks ago too…

    Dylan · 28/07/2015 at 11:06

    Outscore*

    POLLY · 28/07/2015 at 11:17

That is pure greed. Glad it bit u on the ass.

      Dylan · 29/07/2015 at 00:05

      Haha, I know, right?

John · 28/07/2015 at 12:33

GAJ to Priddis or Hannebery?

both averaging the same. both priced roiughly the same. Priddis probably more reliable but has a much tougher draw than Hannebery.

decisions decisions decisions

    Tom · 28/07/2015 at 12:50

I have the same dilemma. I’m thinking priddis as he is more consistent. I didn’t think hanners would still be scoring as well as he has

    Danners · 28/07/2015 at 15:43

Priddis, more reliable, Hannebery can't handle a tag

Redgumwon · 28/07/2015 at 14:09

I'm thinking of trading Gaz & Krak to Sidebottom and Bartel as POD. What do you guys think?

    Derek · 28/07/2015 at 14:58

    Significant!

    Danners · 28/07/2015 at 15:43

    Sounds good

neil · 28/07/2015 at 15:51

bartel and selwood geelong have better draw

Starky · 28/07/2015 at 18:01

Thinking of going Lewis or Selwood this week.

Who would you take and do you think they are finding form at the right time?

    Tyler · 28/07/2015 at 18:14

Don't trust selwood yet but lewis is a good option I reckon

    Derek · 28/07/2015 at 18:40

Selwood is a gun. Can’t go past him

    Starky · 29/07/2015 at 08:51

    Thanks all

Antonio · 28/07/2015 at 18:34

Is Rance a good option?

    Ethan · 28/07/2015 at 20:05

wait a few, coming off an 81 and 99 and priced at 518k, he will fall a bit unless he goes majorly huge

min0008 · 28/07/2015 at 18:39

GAJ to Priddis or Dangerfield? And what to do with Tom Mitchell?
Have 5 trades left with 200k left over before making trades.

    Pauly Walnuts · 28/07/2015 at 20:25

Mate, I have 4 trades and the same problem, IMO Danger has a better draw but Priddis is 60k less and i want to flick Mitchel for Bartel

Gibbo · 28/07/2015 at 18:47

Hey guys, how many trades should we have after this round

I have 7 and just did

Gaz to priddis

Mitchell to bartel

So 5 left with a full premium team (worst player being jack newnes and 7 of my 8 benched players playing

Is 5 enough after this week thoughts ??

    Tyler · 28/07/2015 at 19:38

Yeah, I think most have less than 5

Juzzy · 28/07/2015 at 19:59

I have all the usual suspects in the midfield.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of trading Gaz to the forgotten man of supercoach …

Marc Murphy. Any opinions ?

    Ethan · 28/07/2015 at 20:04

no, only cause he's between ultra premo and fallen premo. for value for money we either go all out with an ultra premo or find value with a fallen premo. Unless carlton start winning it doesnt seem logical to bring in a player who does gather a heap of possesions but they dont mean as much

    Tyler · 28/07/2015 at 20:14

People always stress only trading in players that will be top 10 in their respective lines, or if they are good value. Murph is neither

      Juzzy · 28/07/2015 at 20:31

Since Round 10 Murphy has only scored below 100 once (a 97). That includes a 151.
I think he may be a safer bet that Hannerberry, Mundy or Sidebottom.
Also he's no chance of being rested to freshen up for a finals campaign …

        Juzzy · 28/07/2015 at 20:32

        *than

          Donavan · 28/07/2015 at 21:16

I bought Murphy in Round 10, and he has more than done his job. Amazing what can happen when he gets the ball pushed in his general direction a few times a quarter. Prior to Kreuzer coming back in round 10, Murphy was relying on winning the ball against the ruck tap, although Cloke tried hard.

            Derek · 29/07/2015 at 09:49

He busted his guts last week and scored 100. Very hard to score well in a poor team.

    SideBySidebottom · 29/07/2015 at 22:18

Juzzy you could become the forgotten man of SuperCoach.

Pjay · 28/07/2015 at 20:55

Fyfe to miss next game, Ross Lyons announced it on WA news

Jamie · 28/07/2015 at 21:12

How about Deledio as an option to replace Gaz? Not being mentioned all that much compared with Priddis & Danger but output looks very solid with good form, 6 scores over 120 and 4 over 130 out of 12 games played.

Tossing up Deledio vs Priddis… thoughts?

    Derek · 29/07/2015 at 09:47

Delidio is for your forward line. If there is room in forwards he goes there, midfield is for your midfield premos. Priddis for sure.

      Jamie · 29/07/2015 at 20:16

Thanks alot for the advice, Derek. Deledio would be a MID for me unless I moved Gray, Swan, Martin or Goddard up. Just after the best possible player to be honest as am trying to lock up a top 4 spot this week. Was just considering Lids as if you take out his injury influenced games (weeks 1 & 6), his average is 120 for the season. Sometjong to ponder I guess!

        SideBySidebottom · 29/07/2015 at 22:26

I thought Sometjong was a Mongolian tummy ekh.

          Jamie · 30/07/2015 at 10:38

Haha, well spotted. Noticed that after I posted but by then it was too late.

    randomcliche · 29/07/2015 at 13:21

    Hey Jamie
I proposed this to someone else privately. If it builds your flexibility in dpp terms it is an option, esp if ita your last trade or so. Although he sits in my fwd line. It’s whether you think there will be a better value mid than Lewis over the next month that you want instead (Or plane just want priddis now).
    Cheers

      randomcliche · 29/07/2015 at 13:21

      Want priddis

        Jamie · 29/07/2015 at 20:10

Thanks alot randomcliche. Only 2 trades left prior to this move, and Deledio would be a MID for me unless I move one of my FWD DPPs (Gray, Swan, Martin, Goddard) up and slide Deledio into MID. Just after the best possible player due to how low I am on trades, not too concerned with cost.

          Jamie · 29/07/2015 at 20:11

          into FWD I mean

Pumpkin Eater · 28/07/2015 at 21:21

I passed on GAJ's dodgy shoulder and had Lambert's bench score of 100+ count when Buddy pulled out. I guess some people's misfortune is another man's gold! This is what makes this game so great!

    randomcliche · 29/07/2015 at 13:21

    Well played.

FYFE NOT PLAYING IN ROUND 18

Liam · 28/07/2015 at 22:31

Field goddard, lambert or steele for fyfe??

    Derek · 28/07/2015 at 23:47

Loophole Lambert & Steele by using Fyfe on field. Lambert plays friday

      POLLY · 29/07/2015 at 09:13

      Exactly my thoughts.

Bye Week · 29/07/2015 at 00:52

Thank you chicko for giving me some much needed laughs, after what we’ve been through.

“Take the game seriously longmire” and Shaw should be delisted comments were absolute crackers

Dave2008 · 29/07/2015 at 01:42

As one of the many scers with the great man I’m thinking. Ablett and Saad out for H Goddard and Selwood this week then I will have 480 k to use wherever I need to to get that crucial first league finals win. I have 7 trades left guaranteed top 4. I also want to see who my rivals bring in

Team:

D Shaw Hodge Simpson Newness Gibson Houli Saad Hamling

M Fyfe Pendles Ward Lewis Kennedy Parker GAJ Steele Krak Boston

R Goldy Nic Nat

F Martin Goddard Dalihaus Swan Mitchell Tarrant Gray McClean

Thoughts anyone ?

    Derek · 29/07/2015 at 09:43

Good looking team, wouldn’t want to go H2H with you.

If my team, I would look at building some strong bench cover and adding some more swing sets. The more opportunity you have of creating loopholes the better you will score, get two bites each week.

I would trade Gaz to Selwood.

Hold Saad as he should play soon and he can give you loophole & bench cover in defence and midfield.

I would trade Krak to Kelly (via Saad). This gives you a very solid D7 and creates a Def/mid swing with Hodge & Newnes.

This week you can swing Hodge to mid to cover Fyfe and play Kelly on field at D6. If Saad doesn’t play he becomes your loophole if Hamling can’t.

Next week I would upgrade Tarrent to Bartel and downgrade McLean to Payne (saints DPP).

This gives you a strong F7 and a non-player to loophole with. Payne also completes you Mid/fwd swing sets.

Have a look if you have cash to do that, depends what Bartel increase by.

Having Kelly at D7. Saad M9 & Steele at M10/F8. Payne as loophole. TMitch at F7. You will kill it.

    Good luck

      Derek · 29/07/2015 at 09:53

I forgot to say, Bartel becomes F6 and TMitch become F7/M9. Payne allows you to swing TMitch.

        Dave2008 · 29/07/2015 at 17:33

Thanks Derek great advice and I agree my swings sets need to be looked at. Steele Krakouer and Knight (who I left out) all being in mids isn’t good but ill swing one forward with a trade. I’m also two premos short in the mids before I build cover so do I go with Selwood and Sidey to have money for that deep cover? I just like holding off bringing both mids in because of the element of suprise for the first final and they could get injured before then

          Derek · 29/07/2015 at 19:51

Selwood and Siddy are excellent choices. You might have to get rid of Saad to raise the cash.

            dave2008 · 29/07/2015 at 20:59

Yep that was my plan A but I like you idea of Kelly as backup d7 but he isnt a mid so he cant swing with Saad but would just be a backup. It doesnt quite work to do Bartel in for Tarrant and Kelly and Selwood in for GAJ and Krak as I dont have the cash. So it depends what the priority is either A Grab H Goddard and Selwood for GAJ and Saad this week and 480 k or bring Kelly in for D7 or bring both Sidey and Selwood in for Saad and GAJ this week..hmm decisions.

              Derek · 29/07/2015 at 23:02

Kelly at D7 works best if you have a Mid/Def swing. Then Kelly can cover 2 lines. Have a good look at your swing sets.

                dave2008 · 30/07/2015 at 04:30

Thanks again but correct me if I am wrong but isnt Kelly just listed as a Def. Im almost certainly going Ablett to Selwood at his price hes too hard to ignore and gives me a chance to finish mids next week with Sidey next week possibly. But I will have a look at my swing sets.

tom · 29/07/2015 at 07:19

DO WE TRADE FYFE?

    Derek · 29/07/2015 at 08:59

I was thinking the same thing. I was very worried about round 19, travel to Melbourne to play saints on a Sunday as being the round that Fyfe, Sandi, Neale, Barlow etc get a rest, and still think that. Round 20 they play Westcoast and Ross would want them rested for that game.

Fyfe might be out for two weeks?

Trading Fyfe now would be the ultimate SHARK move.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 29/07/2015 at 09:16

I think he will only miss one to freshen up, the general will strike some other freo mids next week. Barlow, Neale and Mundy and fyfe will come back in.

        Derek · 29/07/2015 at 10:02

The westcoast game is massive. Players will be rested for the saints game. If Fyfe is not 100% he will stay at home.

        PDAP · 29/07/2015 at 10:08

Completely agree with you trigger happy. Fyfe may be out for two weeks but I doubt it and Fyfe still has a Brownlow to win so even anti SC Ross will ponder that fact. There will definately be 3 – 4 restings against the Saints and we were so pleased thst SC concluded in round 22 to hopefully eradicte restings. Fat chance. The only reason you would trade Fyfe is if you have 10 trades, and yes, I know someone with a fair side who has 10 trades so he will frade him back in when Fyfe is ready to rip them apart.

          Flanno24 · 29/07/2015 at 14:01

Could it also mean that by getting rested now we can count on him not being rested in the last couple of rounds?

    I N Pieman · 29/07/2015 at 10:37

I'd only be trading Fyfe if you have 6+ trades & no Gaz to deal with. Gaz Beams Fyfe. Here comes the carnage. But I agree with Derek it could be a shark move if you pick off the right bloke.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 29/07/2015 at 11:51

So is that 3 trades for u this week pieman? 🙂 gaz gotta go but what about beams? Lack of trades and other must trades means I am holding fyfe. Have lambert, Steele and Smith to cover surely one of them can give good points coverage.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 29/07/2015 at 11:56

Yep old SC god is taking Em out one by one. Watch out danger u r next on the hit list.

        randomcliche · 29/07/2015 at 12:03

But I was gunna bring danger in!

          TRIGGER HAPPY · 29/07/2015 at 12:33

Danger signs are there. 🙂 maybe bring in Glenn he is well down the list.

Francis · 29/07/2015 at 11:56

Ablett to Sidebottom and H. Taylor to Laird? Leaves me with 2 trades

    Derek · 29/07/2015 at 17:06

Taylor to Laird looks sideways to me. However if you have plenty of trades and this is your most pressing problem, you are doing ok

Big G · 29/07/2015 at 12:36

Will Saad be back?

    Wattsieesq · 29/07/2015 at 16:36

    Yes, reportedly this week.

TRIGGER HAPPY · 29/07/2015 at 12:54

Let me throw this one at u community just to mull over. Totally left field but what about bringing in Nicky Dal? Next 3 games r blues, Melbourne and St Kilda. HUGE POD who should score very well against those 3 then freo who don’t tag and doggies Rd 22? Worth considering?

Stevo · 29/07/2015 at 13:40

Danger or Priddis

    Pauly Walnuts · 29/07/2015 at 14:28

Mate, thats the question i have to answer myself who is going to score – I'm leaning towards Danger as he has a better draw coming up, but he's 62k more than Priddis but at this time year its all about the points

      Wattsieesq · 29/07/2015 at 16:58

I've had Priddis all year and am really happy with his output. I'm bringing in Danger but if I didn't have Priddis, I'd still bring in Danger. Danger is in red hot form, he's out pointed Priddis in 10 of the 14 rounds that they have both played in this year and has arguably the easier draw.

        Derek · 29/07/2015 at 17:05

Same old question as before. With Sloane back in the team, and Thompson in great form, will they share the points around.

I think Priddis is the main man at WCE and can score points consistently better.

I already have Priddis so will be going Danger, but if I had a choice I’d go Priddis.

          Stevo · 29/07/2015 at 17:40

Cheers guys heaps, Priddis also plays Gold Coast this week where he scored 196 earlier this year

            Wattsieesq · 29/07/2015 at 18:09

Priddis is also playing the WB (78) and Freo (88). I'm not suggesting he's going to spud it up again, merely playing devil's advocate : )

          Wattsieesq · 29/07/2015 at 18:07

That's a really good point Derek. Sloane and Danger played the first 6 games of the year and Danger only averaged 103. It can be either put down to Sloane's presence or that Danger is known as a slow starter. In games after Rd 6 that he has played in with Sloane, Danger has scored 130, 106, 114 and 141 which is a more ultra premo average of 122. I haven't included Thompson's impact because except for the first 2 rounds of this year, he's played all the games Danger has played.

It's splitting hairs really, both are really great players.

            Derek · 29/07/2015 at 19:44

            I’m getting Dangerfield

KKP · 29/07/2015 at 14:29

Community i need your help! I have 5 trades and 44k bank. Ablett needs to go. I have Steele on field that i need to upgrade too. I've got two options.
1) Trade Ablett to a super premo (Priddis or Danger) and Cull a Rookie for cash and then upgrade Steele next week to Bartel or Dahl.

2) Trade Ablett for Lewis or Rocky and then go Steele straight to Bartell, leaving me with an extra trade

Any help would be appreciated!

Brodie Smith
Buddy
Bont
What should i do??

Smith, Bont and Neale aren't premiums.

Hold Smith, he is not worth enough $ to trade, and showed something last week, good D7.

footy · 29/07/2015 at 17:23

how do supercoach finals work??

    Wattsieesq · 29/07/2015 at 18:18

From the SC Website: "Rounds 19-22 will comprise of a top 8 finals series, based around the real AFL finals system, to find the overall league premiers. 9th – 16th will also play off for the league's minor premiership. The bottom 2 teams miss out. Note that while leagues conclude at Round 22, the overall competition continues through to Round 23 as usual."

      SideBySidebottom · 29/07/2015 at 22:15

I think this year your team is looked at, eight premiums are injured, coaches rest five, all rookies are omitted and the spud you always had covered beats you in the Grand Final.

tom · 29/07/2015 at 21:27

Any more news on Beams? I have heard he wants to play rest of season but club want him to start surgery straight away

carlashirley90 · 29/07/2015 at 22:59

Meh losing intersect in AFL games due to low scoring and high stoppages etc
But now SuperCoach is almost boring due to players getting injured a hell of a lot more or being rested due to the silly AFL rules that have changed our game it hurts the selections that you make in SuperCoach. Last year I just thought well that was a bad year for injuries ( a one off right? ) fark no

    hedski · 29/07/2015 at 23:33

    Put depth in your side.

    SideBySidebottom · 29/07/2015 at 23:44
