Supercoach 2015Two down. And one to go.

And didn’t big Max Gawn put his hand up against the Cats on Sunday!
He features this week, as does discussion around the likes of Joel Selwood, Ryan Griffen, Patrick Cripps and Jack Newnes. We whack some of these blokes under the microscope this week and ask a very important question. Are they keepers? Which should we keep? Which should we slaughter?
Proud of some of the results coming through after a shocking round. Let’s get stuck into the show my friends.
Jock Reynolds.

Ooh can I be the first comment? I actually like Christensen, not just for numbers but for flexibility. Rotating him and Steele may be integral to ultimate success

    @Rem_Wah · 21/06/2015 at 21:47

Zorko would be a better pick IMO – And he has the identical FWD/MID swing

      Jacko1998 · 22/06/2015 at 09:24

i agree. ive had zorko since the start and hes finally repaying the faith

    Jacko1998 · 21/06/2015 at 21:55

    never

    Adam · 21/06/2015 at 21:55

Love him as well. thinking Boomer as a M9 instead.

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 07:59

im looking at Steele and Lambert for the same thing

JOHN · 21/06/2015 at 21:35

Picken or rance?

    Hazey · 21/06/2015 at 21:38

Picken or Houli it is for me… Am thinking Picken. Doggies draw looks good.

    MC · 21/06/2015 at 21:49

    Picken

    Youngy · 22/06/2015 at 07:58

Neither… Simpson, Houli, Shaw, Enright, Hodge. One of those.

    Danners · 22/06/2015 at 12:49

Picken, he is playing as a midfielder

Hazey · 21/06/2015 at 21:36

Thank god Yr OK Jock! I wasn’t sure if the interweb in Timor was broken, but I heard nothing from the community since last Sunday. Did yourself, Crouching & Higgo nominate yrslves as round 12 byers and head away on a little boys retreat perhaps?

Josh · 21/06/2015 at 21:37

Looking for some advice this week community, 10 trades left, 402k in the war chest and one upgrade to be done. Currently ranked 800th.

I'm looking to bring in Montagna, but can only do so, trading out Heeney who's meant to be back this week (and great bench cover),
OR
I can trade out Anderson to Sloane (unlikely to play another game) and have Heeney, Boston and Glenn as bench cover in the mids. Thoughts/ideas?

Defence:
Shaw, Enright, Simpson, TMac, Picken, Lever (Brown, Pearce)

Midfield:
Fyfe, Pendles, Beams, Ward, Danger, JPK, Wallis, Boston (Heeney, Anderson, Glenn)

Ruck:
Goldy, Nic Nat (Brooksby)

Forward:
Dusty, Gray, Lids, Goddard, Swanny, T.Mitchell (Steele, Read)

    Josh · 21/06/2015 at 21:37

As always, look forward to the podcast Jock. Highlight of a sunday night, just stressing out over this decision this week!

    Luke · 21/06/2015 at 21:53

Sloane and Montagna should score pretty much the same. Just depends if you want to spend an extra 100k for a POD.

With Mitchell and Goodes unlikely to be dropped, does Heeney get a game without a sub?, even though he's a gun, not sure if he's an automatic pick in their best 21.

      Josh · 21/06/2015 at 22:08

How highly do you rate Boston's job security?
Reckon it's worth chipping out Boston/Heeney for a POD in montagna or pocketing the coin and going Sloane?

        Luke · 21/06/2015 at 22:30

Not sure on their injury list, but short term he's a lock in their team. Personally i'm deciding between Sloane, Steven or Hannebery this week and leaning towards Sloane purely because he's to cheap to ignore.

        Tyler · 22/06/2015 at 07:09

Gold coast have a lot of players on the brink of returning. Harley Bennell, Josh Glenn, Steven May, Jack Martin, Alex Sexton, David Swallow and Rory Thompson all listed between 1-2 weeks off. Then I think I heard Gazza is thinking of returning to playing this week. So I don't rate his js right now

      Mike · 22/06/2015 at 10:18

Heeney will very likely return through the 2s given his time out, and is not a certainty to fit back in the team. As you say Goodes is firing and if Mitchell ditches his over the shoulder hoist when he feels pressured then he’ll also stay in the team. Heeney is a big vest risk at best imo.

    Phil · 21/06/2015 at 22:36

Is sloane 100k cheaper than Montagna? If so, it's an absolute no brainer Sloane for me

    hedski · 21/06/2015 at 22:39

Get lambert on your mid bench as swinger

      hedski · 21/06/2015 at 22:40

      Sloane!

Dean · 21/06/2015 at 21:55

I always planned to bring in Smith in round 13 but im now second guessing myself.

    Ethan · 22/06/2015 at 07:50

    He’s bottomed out in price
Should only go up from here

    scrofl · 22/06/2015 at 10:52

He got 22 touches this week, it was only his disposal efficiency that hurt his score. Once he gets back into the swing of things, he'll be a 90+ averaging defender.

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 08:16

    get him in !

Luke · 21/06/2015 at 21:58

gday community, who should upgrade lumumba for, already got shaw, burgoyne, newnes, smith, simpson on field

    @KingWinter7 · 21/06/2015 at 22:01

    Hodge

    Youngy · 22/06/2015 at 08:00

    Agreed Hodge is your man.

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 08:17

im looking at Malceski next week
this week you could look at Andrew Walker as a POD

Harry · 21/06/2015 at 22:01

Tarrent to Gawn

Or

Tarrant to the Bont

Which is better? Please comment!?

    amon · 21/06/2015 at 22:06

neither, both are bad trades. bont and gawn are not going to be top 10 in there respective lines

      Harry · 21/06/2015 at 22:14

      Who should I get then?
Already have swan, Gray, Dalhaus, franklin and Martin
I need one more to complete the forward line

        Enrage! · 21/06/2015 at 22:31

Goddard for sure..Or Mitchell but still have some concerns with him!

      Tyler · 22/06/2015 at 07:12

When you're trading a player in, Don't worry if they'll be top 10 come end of year, just worry about if they will be top 10 from here on out. Which if Gawn can keep this scoring up he will be

      Danners · 22/06/2015 at 13:29

You don't need the absolute best players to win Supercoach, Amon

    Luke · 21/06/2015 at 22:32

Stupid to trade Gawn in this week. Alot of better fwd's to pick then Bont.

    Danners · 22/06/2015 at 12:41

    Bont, Gawn isn't a keeper

      dean · 22/06/2015 at 13:07

Whilst i tend to agree. Steff martin was in a similar position las year. And didnt miss a 100

        Danners · 22/06/2015 at 13:29

He was a bit cheaper though, you're paying a bit over $400k for a risk remember, it could go right or wrong

          dean · 22/06/2015 at 15:40

Yea this is true, but could certainly be a decent option for those still with reed at M3? could provide some great cover coming towards the end of the year.

    Redgumwon · 22/06/2015 at 20:10

Don't forget that Geelong don't really have what we'd call a regulation ruckman. Will Gawn play that well against Goldy or a good regulation ruckman? I'd pass on Gawn

Mr chan · 21/06/2015 at 22:05

Do you think josh Kennedy will be a top 10 mid by seasons end?

Deciding btw Kennedy, Hannebery, Mundy or Deledio

    SCaddict · 21/06/2015 at 22:10

I seriously doubt it. Hope I'm wrong as I started with him. Reckon Hanners is worth the money. Of course Sloane is the bargain buy mid premo this week which I'd be advocating all coaches get him in this week who don't already have him.

      Mr chan · 21/06/2015 at 22:42

Thanks guys. yeah I’ve got Sloane already last week. Can afford $600k. I was leaning toward Hannebery too but at $486k, Kennedy prepresents great value.
And will complete full premo this week with Cripps m8

      Derek · 21/06/2015 at 23:19

      Sloane or Parker?

        Mr chan · 21/06/2015 at 23:24

        Both

        SCaddict · 21/06/2015 at 23:39

For most coaches I still reckon it's hard to go past Sloanedog for sheer value. Currently only owned by less than 10% of teams although no doubt that % will increase significantly this week and next.

I obviously rate Parker highly too so that could be a sneaky shark move for some whilst everybody else is trading in Sloane, JPK or Pendles.

As you know I already have both in my side so thankfully not a decision I have to wrestle over this week.

    MC · 21/06/2015 at 22:12

Possibly, but I'd prefer Hannebery over him

    Luke · 21/06/2015 at 22:34

Out of those 4, i'd pick Hannebery!. JPK's a bargain, but i'd rather Selwood or Sloane at that price. WIth Hannebery, Parker and Mitchell all having career best seasons, think it's taking away from JPK.

      Mike · 22/06/2015 at 10:21

      AGREEED.

    Dean · 21/06/2015 at 23:17

I cannot see JPK finishing in the top 10 especially at the rate he is going, however I wouldn't be trading him out.

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 08:18

at such a bargain its hard to say no to JPK

Rob · 21/06/2015 at 22:09

Just listened to the podcast and Jock said you should nearly have a full premo team.

I have4 or 3 rookies still in the side.

With 140K how would i downgrade to make money and then upgrade Rookies to Premos

BACK: Shaw, simpson, newnes, Hibbered, Lever,Saad ( Pearce and hamling)
Mid: Fyfe, selwood, Brandon Ellis, D.Mckenzie, Kennedy, Shiel, Cripps, Priddis( CEY, Dumont, Blakely)
Ruck: Blicavs, Nicnat( read)
FWD: Roughy, Martin, Bont, Gray, Franklin,Dahlhausl( Steel and lambert)

Any suggestions?

    Dean · 21/06/2015 at 23:46

Not easy you'll need to wait a few weeks and hopefully your rookies fatten fast. Look to trade CEY out and bring in Sloane as this will be the cheapest you'll get him.

Look to trade out Mckenzie and get Beasley in to start.

    Tyler · 22/06/2015 at 07:14

Downgrade Saad to H Goddard maybe

Skindog · 21/06/2015 at 22:10

Bont out for Sloane?? or is Bonts next heap of games going to see him score well???

    Ben · 21/06/2015 at 22:35

Mav Weller will tag him next week.

    Crowmagnon · 22/06/2015 at 16:41

If you have a full premium team, go for it.

      Crowmagnon · 22/06/2015 at 16:40

Sorry, that reply was for skindog.

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 08:19

    if you have bont hold

      Skindog · 23/06/2015 at 09:29

Reason Wheels?? talk me into it!!!

        @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:32

when u got the bont you would have expected him to be a keeper premo… you should stick to this plan and find another way to get Sloan. your team will be better for having both players, rather than one

          Skindog · 23/06/2015 at 21:08

          Cheers Wheels, nuff said,,,,

SCaddict · 21/06/2015 at 22:14

Love the call in Pieman!

No doubt a very cathartic experience for you. 🙂

In fact superb podcast all round gents and was worth a second listen for sure.

Josh · 21/06/2015 at 22:20

Sloane or Montagna this week? Currently ranked 800th, lock in a POD?

    SCaddict · 21/06/2015 at 22:38

Can't go past Sloane for value. Monty had a purple patch last season but then that dried up with many coaches ultimately ruing the decision to make the POD trade in there.

Of course no reason history must repeat in 2015 but you would be paying top dollar for Monty right now so you need to be pretty sure about him to pull the trigger there if you ask me.

    Skindog · 22/06/2015 at 10:11

Sloane for me Josh, cant go past the price tag, for me its Bont out Sloane in! but then theres JPK as well??

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 08:23

    Sloan

SELLWOOD NOW · 21/06/2015 at 22:20

Jelwood is playing like bellchambers at the moment! pull your socks up mate! by the way… should i still hold rockliff? i could go rocky- sloane, harvey, N Jones (POD) or even Dal Santo, thoughts?

    SCaddict · 21/06/2015 at 22:54

Since you kept Rocky this far you should definitely hold him now. Will likely be back in a fortnight and may even be a sneaky chance of getting up this week.

    Youngy · 22/06/2015 at 08:02

Ye Agree with SCaddict, you have kept him this week only 1 or 2 weeks longer until he plays.

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 08:24

    sideways trade selwood to griffen

Luke · 21/06/2015 at 22:23

whats the news on ablett?

    Mike · 22/06/2015 at 10:25

The news is you’d have to be mad to risk it.

    mcleal10 · 22/06/2015 at 17:07

he could be back this week or next. I'd consider saving a premium spot in the midfield for him.

cam · 21/06/2015 at 22:27

Selwood-Sloane?

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:32

    hold selwood

SCNEWS · 21/06/2015 at 22:28

Should I bring in Kade Simpson as a premo? or someone like Bachar houli? who should i get? (Already have hodge and Shaw)

    Luke · 21/06/2015 at 22:36

Have a lot more faith in Simpson than Houli

    Danners · 22/06/2015 at 12:41

    If you can afford him

Nicholas · 21/06/2015 at 22:34

I have lewis griffen and selwood. Should i go griffen to pendles? Only problem is he just got a 120. Any thoughts?

    SCaddict · 21/06/2015 at 22:49

That's exactly what Jock is planning to do this week if you heard the podcast so you know you will be in good company if you make that call.

Griffen is too consistent to be a premo keeper after 12 weeks of data, as an 88 average just doesn't cut it for your midfield.

So you will probably need to upgrade him to a proper premo at some point and his Rd13 bye this week will present the perfect opportunity for many.

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 08:25

griffen to pendles = lock trade

      Locked and Loaded · 23/06/2015 at 13:24

would rather let selwood go Griff will step up

l. Gibbs · 21/06/2015 at 22:51

my midfielid is- Lewis, selwood, fyfe, pendles, jpk, beams and danger. Who should I get for my 8th midfield spot? not worried about byes and cash who do I get?

    hedski · 21/06/2015 at 23:17

    Sloane or Parker?

    mcleal10 · 22/06/2015 at 17:08

I'm personally waiting for Ablett and seeing if he recovers. Other than that you should look at Hanneberry, Sloane and Pridis

      @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 08:26

silly waiting on ablett, with his BE so large you wouldnt bring him in for at least 3 weeks. in that meantime your missingt out on a m8 premo score.
get full premo then look to upgrade a rookie to ablett or your current m8

3. votes · 21/06/2015 at 22:55

Is bont a keeper as a F6? If not who do I get in? already have Franklin, Swan, Daulhause, Martin and gray!

    SCaddict · 21/06/2015 at 23:04

Would keep the faith for now especially with the Doggies favourable upcoming draw. If he can't average at least 90 over the next month then I think he's probably outstayed his welcome at that point and you could look to move him on for a Floghard or Lids type.

      Crowls · 22/06/2015 at 23:54

hope it works as i am looking at same trade option

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:33

    hold the bont

    Youngy · 23/06/2015 at 22:52

    Hold, not worth a trade.

Mourney · 21/06/2015 at 22:56

Have 13 trades left, want sloane but thinking of holding cripps as will be 500 k soon. I might sideways to him, who out of Jpk, selwood and leiws should I sideways with? or just a no?

    mcleal10 · 22/06/2015 at 17:09

    no

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:34

Cripps has a BE of 41
Hold him this week, as soon as he stinks it up then trade him out

Nick · 21/06/2015 at 23:06

Do we need to be getting to full premium as quick as possible or should we be looking to save trades by waiting for our rookies to fully fatten?

Cheers community

    Mr chan · 21/06/2015 at 23:15

Yes but depends on your goal.
Some are going for rank and have been trading aggressively. For league, you can wait til they flatten but sometimes you just don’t know if they will go up more.
Eg. Dumont and Bailey dale- vested a lot and can’t trust.
Hogan, Cripps- can wait for sure as they are scoring well and could be in your final team as well

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 08:27

    full premo

Antonio · 21/06/2015 at 23:10

Smith, Hannebery and Dalhous in for Griffen, McIntosh and Ellis-Yolmen.

    hedski · 21/06/2015 at 23:19

    Nice trades. Ditch t griff

    Youngy · 23/06/2015 at 17:26

Good trades. I will be holding Grif though.

Dean · 21/06/2015 at 23:13

As always I loved the Podcast guys. Hope you all had a great weekend.
im currently ranked 2444 so realistically im most likely out of the contention for overall rank right?

I have 11 trades left and 263k in the war chest. However if I stick to my bye strategy structure this would require me to traded out CEY, Lumumba & Krakouer to bring in Hodge, Sloane & Lambert or Steele in this week, which will leave me with 8 trades left over and my team will be as follows:

DEFENCE:- Hodge, Shaw, Houli, Simpson, Saad, Hamling:- (Pearce, Lever)
MIDFIELD:- Fyfe, Danger, Priddis, Pendles, Beams, Sloane, JPK, Parker:- (Boston, Stretch, Lambert)
RUCK:- Goldy, Blicvas:- (Read)
FORWARDS:- Martin, Gray, Dahlhaus, Swan, Edwards, TBC:- (Dale, Clark)

I still need to upgrade TBC to Goddard and in defence I need to upgrade Saad & a rookie before my team is really full premo.
I would only have $117k left over after these trades if I took that route.

I need a little advice community as what you think is best, as I am not really sure what I should do, should I trade the 3 this week or only play for league and trade cautiously. Lastly are there better trading options you prefer. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

    hedski · 21/06/2015 at 23:21

Id waste 3 trades on belch

    Josh · 22/06/2015 at 17:30

Looks like BC has to go now, out for 8-10 weeks, should make that decision even easier.

    BC to Floggard,
    Clark down to Steele.
Saad up to your choice of premium defender.

Looks good man, keep it up.

      Dean · 22/06/2015 at 19:41

Cheers mate but I think its more important bringing in Sloane this week before Goddard because Goddard has a break even of 132 so chances are he will go down in price this week as opposed to Sloane who has a break even of 77 so he should go up in price.

As for SAAD I think he is still worth keeping in defence as even the top defenders are scoring inconsistently.

      Your thoughts?

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:35

i reckon lambert will be named this week so get him in
i am going to get him this week regardsless to free up some cash then get Steele next week

Jack · 21/06/2015 at 23:15

Got a full premium team with 11 trades left going into round 13. Am I ahead of the pack?

    Mr chan · 21/06/2015 at 23:17

It’s about right on. About 10 left for full premo

      Crowls · 22/06/2015 at 23:55

full premo 9 trades left. time to look at loopholing and saving trades

    Jack · 21/06/2015 at 23:18

Also have 20 on field this week

    Youngy · 22/06/2015 at 08:03

Ye your probably a touch ahead of the pack

    Dean · 22/06/2015 at 19:42

Jack whats your team look like mate?

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:39

    yep
can you post your team up?

Rob · 21/06/2015 at 23:17

Who do i Get for Selwood and CEY?

I have 1,077,200 to get 2 players.

Any suggestions?

    Derek · 21/06/2015 at 23:22

Unless you put your team up, can’t help

      Rob · 21/06/2015 at 23:33

BACK: Shaw, simpson, newnes, Hibbered, Lever,Saad ( Pearce and hamling)
Mid: Fyfe, selwood, Brandon Ellis, D.Mckenzie, Kennedy, Shiel, Cripps, Priddis( CEY, Dumont, Blakely)
      Ruck: Blicavs, Nicnat( read)
FWD: Roughy, Martin, Bont, Gray, Franklin,Dahlhausl( Steel and lambert)

        Mr chan · 21/06/2015 at 23:38

Keep Selwood unless you had enough.
You should work on upgrade in defence and Also one In mid.
        Ruck n forwards looks good

          hedski · 21/06/2015 at 23:39

          Bang bang

            hedski · 21/06/2015 at 23:40

Not selwood. Go with mr chan

          Rob · 21/06/2015 at 23:47

any suggestions who i should upgrade down back and Mid?

            Mr chan · 22/06/2015 at 08:31

            Houli, hodge

            Pendlebury

        Youngy · 22/06/2015 at 08:12

        Pendles for sure.

        Mike · 22/06/2015 at 13:07

You gotta follow the herd and get sloane in this week. Too cheap to pass up.

    Dean · 23/06/2015 at 00:05

Rob you have over $1 Million in the bank mate. Forget about Selwood for now mate he wont lose you any cash this week coz he has his bye.

You need to upgrade your rookies to rising premium's. The number one trade would be bringing in Sloane this week as he has a low break even of 77 or Pendlebury as his break even is 101 – So I would go Mckenzie to Sloane or Pendles, Lever to Houli and SAAD to Hodge..
If you do these 3 trades then you will still have $382,000 in the bank with Sloane – Or $306,800 if you chose Pendles.
When you do this then you will have a full premo side by round 14 by trading out Selwood to who ever you wish and also Cripps to whoever you wish.

Or rather then trade out McKenzie you could trade out CEY to Sloane as he has peaked in price. Doing this will leave you $542,500 if you chose Sloane, or if you chose Pendles this would still leave you with $467,300 to change Selwood to someone like Beams maybe and you'll then have a awesome full premo side. Just think about it first coz u might be able to keep CEY as your M9 in case someone gets injured so if you can do all this by keeping CEY as bench cover going forward you have yourself a awesome side mate.

    Hope this helps. Good luck.

      Rob · 23/06/2015 at 17:00

Dean i Have 1 Million when i trade CEy and selwood out not 1 Million in the war chest

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:39

    hold selwood mate

Johnny · 21/06/2015 at 23:24

Hey fellas thoughts on Jack Steven? Been scoring consistently well all year.??

    judd0 · 22/06/2015 at 00:11

Awkward price, if he was 50k cheaper, he won't be a top 10 mid so unless you've got a very strong mid already. For a similar price you can get Ward, i know hes got the bye this week. Also for 50k cheaper you can get Heppel which I think he represents some value.
But Steven would be a good M8 no doubt about that.

    Danners · 22/06/2015 at 12:42

    A good POD option

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:40

    has a BE of 128
    hold this week

Francis · 21/06/2015 at 23:31

Time to trade out Dumont? Been the sub the last two games, breakeven now 78

    SCaddict · 21/06/2015 at 23:54

Hasn't made enough cash to be really worth moving on yet. He's played quite well when he's come on in the 4th qtr so it probably won't be long before he gets full game opportunities. I'm certainly hanging on to him in my AFL Fantasy side.

So try and carry him a little longer if you can even though I realise it's been quite painful through this bye period. I did the same thing with Lonie when many dumped him after he get KO'd early against the Crows and am now reaping the rewards of holding longer than others did.

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:41

if you need to trade him this week to get 18 on the park then do it
Lambert might be back for the tigers as a trade down

Ryan · 21/06/2015 at 23:31

Pendlebury @ 558k…. are we getting on?

    General Soreness · 22/06/2015 at 11:21

If you do not have him, you should.

    Danners · 22/06/2015 at 12:42

Agree with General, that is a bargain if you don't have him

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:41

    everyone should have the pendle

    Youngy · 23/06/2015 at 22:53

At that price and after his bye he needs to be in your team this week if you don't have him.

Owen · 21/06/2015 at 23:34

Hey community can you help me out;
Need to pick two out of: Brodie Smith, Bachar Houli and Shaun Burgoyne
Thanks,
By the way great podcast Jock, had me in hysterics

    SCaddict · 22/06/2015 at 00:07

Houli I'd give the tick. Definitely has the rebounding running defender all role sewn up at the Tiges and has had an excellent half a season. Still not sure on the other two so can't recommend them just yet.

Burgoyne can have his huge quarters but is really too much of a role player nowadays (as are many of the Hawks) to be super fantasy relevant. I'm feeling this pinch myself as a Lewis holder who as an aside has been rubbish lately.

I realise Smith is dirt cheap and likely underpriced but I wouldn't trade him in until he could show me that he can ton up at least once if not twice, even though it would cost you more to wait and see.

It's just that you'd hate to be stuck with a 70-75 average defender for the rest of the season with rookies like Saad and the Ox performing better. Laird has possibly pinched his role and a chunk of his SC points this season.

    judd0 · 22/06/2015 at 00:08

    1. Houli
    2. Smith (At that price)
    3. Burger coin

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:42

    Brodie Smith = so cheap

TyS · 22/06/2015 at 00:04

Anyone in my boat of going Goldy down to Gawn for cash reasons…? In a few weeks time I will get Goldy back. Doing this allows me to get Tom Mitchell for Clark and I will get Brodie Smith next week with 90k I will upgrade McKenzie.. Full premo….

    judd0 · 22/06/2015 at 00:07

Hmmmmm, I wouldn't be doing but if you have thought it through go for it. How many trades do you have?

    PDAP · 22/06/2015 at 09:06

    Don't be stupid.

    Ethan · 22/06/2015 at 09:37

your essentially wasting a few trades here, you will have to be hoping goldy scores poorly if your getting him back in. If you really need gawn, go Clark to Gawn and Get in brodie smith in this week. Has completely bottomed out and has a be of arount 50

    scrofl · 22/06/2015 at 11:23

That's the dumbest thing I've read all season… There's still half a season to go, and if you only need one more upgrade to be full premo, why not just wait? There's no rule that says you must be full premo by round 13.

    Josh · 22/06/2015 at 17:32

Agreed. Probably the worst trade idea I've heard on this thread, but ditch Clark.

    BigDropKick · 22/06/2015 at 19:36

I do not see a problem TyS …. the operative idea here is that you do not have the $ to upgrade two other lines and Gawn could and has gone big . ( small sample but very good )

If it is your only option go for it ! …. Far from the dumbest thing that has been suggested this year ; no body is an expert here .

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:43

    Is this a joke question??
you wouldnt be considering this for real i hope!

Steve · 22/06/2015 at 00:12

Kavanagh < what are your thoughts of bringing him in this week?
Have Boston and Steele already, any other rookie worth having?

    Tyler · 22/06/2015 at 07:26

H Goddard should get a game soon

      scrofl · 22/06/2015 at 11:26

Goddard is probably a better option. Kav's job security isn't the best, and Goddard is highly touted at the Saints. Plus Goddard has that FWD/DEF swing.

        mcleal10 · 22/06/2015 at 17:24

Who's to say Goddard's job security isn't bad? Hasn't proven himself at all since he hasn't even played.

          @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:43

          this is true ^^^

chris · 22/06/2015 at 00:29

thoughts on my team and what i should do/ trade?

def: shaw, murphy, rance, hodge, higgins, smith, hamling, lever
mid: fyfe, pendles, priddis, beams, JPK, sloane, wines, CEY, boston, mckenzie, anderson
ruck: blicavs, nicnat, read
fwd: martin, gray, dalhaus, swan, goddard, franklin, steele, lamb

did 2 trades this week to get dahlaus in for lumumba (via higgins), tarrant to steele

realistically next week will be full premo.. hoping gray isnt out for this week so i have 18 on field. who would be the next choice of midfielders for CEY

    luke · 22/06/2015 at 08:11

Gray has the bye this week…

Dunny · 22/06/2015 at 00:29

Toby McLean or Orazio Fantasia as a forward downgrade for someone already with steele?

    SCaddict · 22/06/2015 at 01:00

Lambert would be the optimal option if he gets a game this week. Had a great game in the VFL on the weekend and with the Corey Ellis injury surely is in line for senior selection this week.

      @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:44

      agreed ^^^

Caz · 22/06/2015 at 01:29

Hi all, this week I will be going mcintosh to houli griffin to sloane and tarrent down to toby McLean thoughts? Thnx

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:44

    all good
    except tarrant
look for another player then McClean
    possible Lambert as an option

      Caz · 23/06/2015 at 19:09

Already have lambert and steele, need to downgrade to get cash.

Mac · 22/06/2015 at 07:19

Thoughts on my team? 80k in the bank. 13 trades.
Simpson, Shaw, Gibson, Hodge, Newnes, Hamling, Pearce, Lever
Fyfe,JPK, Beams, Selwood, Parker, Treloar, Priddis, Rocky, Steele, McKenzie, Dumont
Goldy, Maric, Read
Gray, Swan, Martin,Franklin, Dahlhaus, Tarrent, Lonie, Goddard

    Youngy · 23/06/2015 at 22:55

First thought's are maybe Tarrent down to a rookie maybe a S Edwards and Lever up to B Smith?

Adam · 22/06/2015 at 07:27

Thaughts please

Van d to Sloane

Tarrant to fwd 400-500

Grundy out or hold

Thanks in advance

Lookn at zorko roughead riewoldt elliot ?

Ivan · 22/06/2015 at 07:47

What happened to Jesse Hogan? He was green lit and then wasn't even in the side on the weekend…..

    I N Pieman · 22/06/2015 at 08:01

He was withdrawn on Friday. They didn’t think they’d need him

      Ivan · 22/06/2015 at 08:05

So is it time to move him, on then?

        Mr chan · 22/06/2015 at 11:10

Got the bye, I’ve moved him on as he’s made good cash

    BKW · 22/06/2015 at 09:17

    Hamstring tightness apparently

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:45

time to say goodbye to hogan

I N Pieman · 22/06/2015 at 07:53

Just finished cleaning up the Griffen mess in the backyard. Reloaded & now hunting for Selwood. Pair of them are complete spuds & needs to be blown away

    PDAP · 22/06/2015 at 09:04

Do that and get bitten on the bum.Griffen was good without Mummy and Selwood usually does better the second half. Most people would not have bought Selwood at the start of the year. Don't let your frustration get the better of you.

    Sarah · 22/06/2015 at 10:02

Do it Pieman. It was the greatest relief when I finally traded Griffin out of my team and it was locked in. Can't remember why I selected him in the first place and will never make that mistake again.

    Skindog · 22/06/2015 at 10:22

First year I haven't had Selwood and got rid of Griffen last week!!! and a question for you Pieman,, do you think Roughy is going to turn it around? very cheap atm and could be the POD im looking for for F6?? Good day sir,,,,,

      I N Pieman · 22/06/2015 at 11:21

G’day skindog. Roughy does this every year. Has some monster scores & twice as many rubbish scores. Wouldn’t ever consider him. Only KPF applicable is Buddy for mine. Sarah the assassination of Griffen is a wonderful thing. It’s just a matter of who to. JPK looks nice

        Sarah · 22/06/2015 at 11:33

JPK has been frustrating as hell this year. It's so annoying that he doesn't go big against 'easier' opponents. If I had my time again I'd have picked Danger over JPK back in round 6… but hindsight is a wonderful thing!

          The Ranger · 22/06/2015 at 12:46

Woohoo! I just traded out Griffen!!
          God that feels good.
And for Fyfe too (yeah, yeah I know I should have had him in earlier but you should see the year I've had).
Now then, Daniel Rich, if you could just stand over there…

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:45

    hahah funny as

Tony · 22/06/2015 at 08:04

Maric b/e this week is 171. Probably have 20 playing week without Maric. Thinking of trading out Maric this week to either Nic Nat or Blicavs (both not playing) before a potential big $ drop of Maric. What do you guys think???

    Sarah · 22/06/2015 at 09:24

Why does it matter if Maric drops money? He's in your team for points. So he had 1 bad game… it's not worth trading him. Would you trade Fyfe as well if he score 50 this week and drops $50k??? No. So why would you trade Maric? He's averaging over 100 for the year. He's doing his job.

      @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:46

      i agree with sarah
if you have a "keeper" in your team it doesnt matter what they are priced at.

    Ethan · 22/06/2015 at 09:34

would be the biggest waste of a trade in your team this year. One poor game does not reflect the season he has had

    Jel · 22/06/2015 at 16:21

I've had Goldy & Maric since the start of the year.
I wouldn't trade either unless they had a long term injury.
One bad week is just a blip.

    BKW · 22/06/2015 at 16:56

As per other comments don’t do this – I’ve owned goldy and Maric all year and happy with the combo, just need to be aware they will both struggle against Sandi or Nic Nat – Maric plays Sandi round 17 but has a very nice run of games in the finals (suns, pies, bombers) – Hold

    mcleal10 · 22/06/2015 at 17:25

    useless trade

Jackie · 22/06/2015 at 08:10

What do we do with Ibbotson? Keep him for the rest of the year or wait till he peaks and get rid?

    Flaccid Jaff · 22/06/2015 at 15:44

I would wait. In my opinion he has the potential to be a top 6 defender. just depends on what role he gets. I think when silvagni & dawson return, ibbo could be put back into his 2013 role of rebounding & cheap possession gathering & could average 100 for the rest of the season, especially with duffield in the doghouse! But ross might change his mind yet again. Definitely wait on him though!

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:46

    just hold him
DEF is so fickle this season

Youngy · 22/06/2015 at 08:22

Here is my team community http://gyazo.com/879087ac812c01c9b68b6263ade0953a What should my trades be this week?

Thinking of Hogan to S, Edwards (Essendon)
Clark to Dahlhouse ( Swinging Higgins and H. Goddard )
And then maybe no third trade.

Thoughts Community (Got 6k in the bank and have 14 trades left)

    mcleal10 · 22/06/2015 at 17:34

Assuming that you have no war chest, I'd definitely do those trades. If you don't have Steele I'd consider getting him this week or next instead of Edwards
Swinging Higgins down back is definitely the right move since your defence is lacking a player.
You could also consider trading down Hogan to a rookie and then trading Clark into Luke Hodge by swinging Hugh Goddard into the fwd line. I'd do that trade if you don't feel confident with Dahlhaus.

      Youngy · 22/06/2015 at 17:54

Didn't even think of that… Thx Hodge is in!, Don't feel confident with Dahlaus.

Only problem is that Steele has the bye…

        randomcliche · 24/06/2015 at 23:40

Not sure how much cash you've left after the hodge trade, but cripps to a premo def, (via mckenzie), through you could pick up gibbo…yeah, cripps is playing well, but he'll tire at some point…and you want to be at full premo asap.

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:48

you need to swing higgins down back asap, bring in a rookie FWD and upgrade Hogan to a full premo FWD

Rick Grimes · 22/06/2015 at 08:47

I’m gonna dump Selwood. He’s no SC relevant anymore.

    carlashirley90 · 22/06/2015 at 10:12

    For this year agree
If Dangerfield goes to Geelong next year OMG!!! Get both in your team

Iam a Crows supporter but cannot see Danger staying 🙁

      Sarah · 22/06/2015 at 14:40

Hey Carla, I didn't know you were a crows supporter!! I was in Adelaide and went to the game on Thursday, it was great for 3/4s!
I really hope Danger doesn't leave, but if he does I want the crows to match his offer so the cats are forced to trade for him.

    Danners · 22/06/2015 at 12:47

I think it is wise, he can't get it done with the 3rd one up

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:49

    im gunna hold selwood
had him all year, might come back all guns blazing after the bye

Sarah · 22/06/2015 at 09:22

Ok, 3 more trades this week and my team is complete!! Bringing in Houli and Murphy as a POD! Think the blues have turned a corner. May as well take a risk as my team is currently ranked 12k-ish… not what I was hoping for this year!

Ah well. Here is my final team:

Def: Shaw, Simpson, Houli, Hibberd, Newnes, Smith (J Kolojashnij, Hamling)
Mids: Fyfe, Pendlebury, Priddis, JPK, Sloane, Wines, Murphy, Rockliff (Dumont, Boston, Kavanagh)
Rucks: Goldy, Maric (O'Brien)
Fwds: Gray, Goddard, Martin, Franklin, Swan, Dahlhaus (Steele, Lamb)

Looks better on paper than it's been performing. Hopefully it can pick up a bit after the byes.

    I N Pieman · 22/06/2015 at 11:24

Nice finished team Sarah. How many trades left?

      Sarah · 22/06/2015 at 11:31

Only 6. I've identified some mistakes I made for next year. Hopefully 6 is enough to cover injuries for the rest of the year. I'm reasonably happy with the rookies I've ended up with and they should be able to cover any short term injuries.
      How's your team looking?
Haven't heard any news on Wigg, Knight and Atkins… may be 3 rookies to look out for next year.

        I N Pieman · 22/06/2015 at 13:03

Team is going ok now Sarah. Was 21k a month ago. Crawled back to 6k. Last minute call to take the c off Goldy & onto Selwood in a desparate attempt to win my main league game failed badly. Only in field rookie left is KMac. He’s out this week. Full premo this week with cripps as a spare. He’s filing the role till rocky is back. I’ve carried him as well as Sloane. 11 trades heading into this week. Considering the guys I’ve lost I’ve made the best of a bad situation

          The Ranger · 22/06/2015 at 13:58

Good looking team on paper is a recurring theme this year eh Sarah?!
Good luck for the rest of the year.

            Sarah · 22/06/2015 at 14:13

Thanks Ranger! Good luck to you too.

          Sarah · 22/06/2015 at 14:12

You've done well Pieman. I've carried Sloane and Rocky as well. Been hovering just outside the 10k for most of the year.

Nickf · 22/06/2015 at 09:34

What are peoples thought's on Higgins, hold a D6 spot? Or will Dal Santo being back hurt his output?

    Kev · 22/06/2015 at 10:47

I've held onto him much longer than I intended, gonna keep riding him till he drops off/injured

      Nickf · 22/06/2015 at 10:52

Always planned to trade him out with north's bye but… I'm just not sure who I would even want to replace him at the moment! Got Shaw, Hodge, Simpson, Houli, McDonald… Smith offers value I guess? But I think Higo has deserved a spot

        Crabb · 22/06/2015 at 13:30

I like Higgins. Playing the Wingard role from 2 seasons back.

    Flaccid Jaff · 22/06/2015 at 15:51

My plan is to keep higgins for fwd & def bench coverage with hugh goddard at the other end! Swingsets are VITAL come finals time! He’s a goal kicker & will have a big game every few weeks, but is unreliable, so wouldn’t have him d6 if you can help it.

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:49

im holding until he gets injured

Jacko1998 · 22/06/2015 at 09:39

brought nic nat in at the right time. 4 straight scores of 120+ very very happy with my selection up from tbc to nic nat 🙂

thoughts on these trades community?

Newnes –> Houli
CEY –> Parker
One rookie downgrade: Mckenzie –> Beasy or Anderson –> Kavanagh

Cheers guys!!

or could go anderson –> steele. i am fine with players for this round

    Kev · 22/06/2015 at 10:46

Love the first 2 trades, Adrian. If you can do them without the 3rd then go for it. Agree with Sam that Steele is the better option, but will he hold his place?

carlashirley90 · 22/06/2015 at 10:08

Pendlebury or Mundy for last spot in my midfield? Trading sideways from Griffen

My Current midfield is: Fyfe, Hannebery, Dangefield, Beams, Ebert, Treloar, Sloane and Griffen

Had a look at Fremantles games for the rest of the year and Mundy could finish strong no?

My final team is
Houli, Shaw, Rance, Higgins, Pittard, Smith
Fyfe, Hannebery, Dangerfield, Beams, Ebert, Treloar, Sloane, ?
Goldstein, NicNat
Gray, Swan, Dalhouse, Franklin, D.Smith, Zorko

At the right time I will trade Pittard or B.Smith to a proven premium

    Kev · 22/06/2015 at 10:42

Awesome looking team, Carla. I looked long at hard at Mundy earlier in the year when my midfield was falling apart and talked myself out of it because of the "will he be top 10 in his position" mantra, and I reckon that's just about gone out the window this year! Get him in

    Danners · 22/06/2015 at 12:45

You're comparing someone that has averaged 120+ the last four years to someone that has only had a good start. Pretty simple, get Pendlebury in!

      mcleal10 · 22/06/2015 at 17:39

Pendlebury. I don't think Devon Smith is a trusty forward. Would be looking to chop him asap.

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:50

    Go Pendles
Just such an elite talent, in my opinion a slightly better pick then Mundy

in afl fantasy Mundy is a DEF/MID
i would LOVE Mundy in my SC DEF line

Ethan · 22/06/2015 at 10:09

Got some ideas but no execution of trades
should i go with Tarrant/Dumont—>Steele
Mcintosh-Laird/Smith
Dumont/Selwood-Sloane?

Team is
Def: Houli,Shaw,Murphy,Newnes, Saad, Mcintosh (Hamling, Pearce)
Mid: Fyfe, Pendelbry, Priddis, Parker, Wines, Steven, Selwood, Cripps, (Dumont, Mckenzie, Lambert)
Ruc: Goldstein, Nic Nat (Cox)
Fwd: Gray, Martin,Goddard, Swan, Bont, Gawn, (Tarrant, Mclean)
Before trades have 188k in the bank

    Kev · 22/06/2015 at 10:35

North and GWS have their bye this week, so first option is a no. If you need it to generate cash, get rid of taz
Laird over Smith. In great form.
    Sloane over Jelwood.

PAPA · 22/06/2015 at 10:43

Best Premo Defender? Cant afford Hodge and already have shaw, gibson and brodie smith

zeesus · 22/06/2015 at 10:49

Team complete for those interested:
DEF: Shaw, Gibson, Murphy, Docherty, Kolodjashnij, B Smith (Hamling, Pearce)
MID: Fyfe, Pendles, Beams, Parker, Neale, Boak, Sloane, Lewis (Boston, McKenzie, Steele)
RUC: Goldy, Maric
FWD: Gray, Franklin, Martin, Roughead, Swan, Bennell (Lambert, Dale)

    Josh · 22/06/2015 at 17:35

Looking good mate, some interesting picks in defence though with Murphy/Docherty/Kolo/B.Smith all mid-range premiums?

I'd be looking at upgrading Hamling to a proven premum and downgrading Pearce to a loophole rookie in a couple of weeks and you can loophole Kolo and Smith and leads to bench cover.

      zeesus · 23/06/2015 at 14:42

Yeah thinking the same. Back line is obviously not the strongest but no one has sold me on being proven premo except Shaw. Houli has backed off a bit but will keep an eye on him. I was really hoping Docherty would step up.

Phat Man · 22/06/2015 at 10:52

Have 5 trades left after using the 3 for this final bye round, at the start had around $340k and finished with $150k

downgraded Kmac to H.Beasley
Traded M.Clark to B.Goddard
Traded H.lumumba to Buddy (by swinging H.Goddard from fwd to def)

Where these the best fowards to bring in, and should i have enough trades to upgrade to more defenders to make a full premo team

    Josh · 22/06/2015 at 17:36

If you've got 5 trades left, you'll be in struggle street in no time man,.. I'd give up on the hope of getting a full premium team and conserve them for injuries for now.

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 09:53

    5 trades left?
    nearly time to give up!

Brilliant work on the Podcast as always gents. Pieman, brilliant contribution, I do feel however that Griff will take the hits and defy death and take all before him on the run home. Either that or you have mortally wounded him and he continues to spud it every second week.

    I N Pieman · 22/06/2015 at 11:26

Sorry to say but he has some sizable holes in him after he met with me shotgun.

Rob · 22/06/2015 at 11:14

Is downgrading saad i good idea?

My backline is one of my weakest points of my team.

BACK: Shaw, simpson, newnes, Hibbered, Lever,Saad ( Pearce and hamling)

If i downgrade saad to Beasley I will have around 400K which will allow me to go Selwood to Pendels and CEY to Another Premo.

BACK: Shaw, simpson, newnes, Hibbered, Lever,Saad ( Pearce and hamling)
Mid: Fyfe, selwood, Brandon Ellis, D.Mckenzie, Kennedy, Shiel, Cripps, Priddis( CEY, Dumont, Blakely)
Ruck: Blicavs, Nicnat( read)
FWD: Roughy, Martin, Bont, Gray, Franklin,Dahlhausl( Steel and lambert)

This is my teams and as you can see my FWD and Ruck are done My Mid needs 1 more upgrade in CEY ( i am going to keep Cripps)

Any suggestions?

PAPA · 22/06/2015 at 13:02

Had Seelwood from the start of the year and have stuck with him, scored 72(?) this week and wouldv'e been lower if he didn't score that late goal. Is it time to go? Copping the tag every year and he can not handle a bloody tag!
Maybe next year if dangerfield goes to geelong then selwood might get less attention. thoughts?

    zeesus · 22/06/2015 at 13:11

He scored an 89 last week and 122 the week before. It's not all bad. I would hold him until your team is complete then look at what you want to do. I agree he is not performing how we had hoped but holding him as M8 won't be too bad.

    xav · 22/06/2015 at 22:51

Dangerfield will go to geelong friends with Liam Pickering the player manager and he says Dangerfield will probably be traded for Motlop if he can't go for free

Hibberd. He'll come good after the bye

Brett · 22/06/2015 at 14:20

I have made two trades this week have 9 left and $48k
Tompus to Kavanagh and McIntsh to Martin thru Higgins

Should I trade out Lumumba or keep and look at someone next week have 21 playing this week depends on Lever and Grundy

My team
Def: Shaw, Newnes, Hodge, Higgins, Lumumba, Lever (McKenzie, Hamling)
Mid: Fyfe, Dangerfield, Priddis, Parker, Lewis, Cripps, Wallis, Griffen (Rockliff, Boston, Kavanagh)
Rucks: Nic Nat, Grundy (Read)
Fwds: Martin, Gray, Swan, B Goddard, Franklin, Roughhead, (Bontempelli, Bellchambers)

Also why is everyone bring Steele already he is not on the bubble yet and has a bye anything can happen in two weeks.

    George · 22/06/2015 at 14:39

why do you have bont and bellchambers on bench? its a waste

      Brett · 22/06/2015 at 14:43

Bellchambers as ruck cover as can loophole with Read, depending on Gray's neck looking at downgrading Bont to Steele when on bubble

The Ranger · 22/06/2015 at 14:29

Just for laughs, can I get everyones "worst decision I've made this season so far" moments?

I'll start the ball rolling with my hilariously wrong decision to take the VC off Dusty and put it on Lewis last Thursday.
Just to make that even better I then had the big C on Gray

Honestly, if i wasn't an atheist I'd think the Supercoach Gods didn't like me…

    PDAP · 22/06/2015 at 14:42

I almost did a similar 'wrong decision' Ranger. Took the VC off Martin and placed it on Grey with the captaincy on Goldy. Things were not looking good when Goldy went off early with ' an eye' early in the first quarter and with only having 50 points to half time.
AS they say in the classcs 'SC and DT – 90% luck and 10 skill'

      The Ranger · 22/06/2015 at 14:53

If I could just get that 10% I'd be happy mate!

    Sarah · 22/06/2015 at 14:46

My worst decision was to trade Beams to Sloane after round 2. Backfired much?!!!
Also, trading in JPK over Dangerfield in round 6 was another 'I love hindsight' moment.

      carlashirley90 · 22/06/2015 at 15:15

Your team name needs Dangerfield in your team!!

        Sarah · 22/06/2015 at 15:22

I know! This is the first year I haven't had him since I've had this team name. Not a good decision.

    zeesus · 22/06/2015 at 14:58

I had the same VC and C as well mate. shattered!
Starting the season with Ablett was painful.. wasting a trade on getting him out hurt.

      The Ranger · 22/06/2015 at 15:12

Maric 57, Tarrant 37, Gibson 79, Simpson 76, Rich 55, Selwood continuing to be rubbish…it was just another normal weekend in Rangerworld zeesus!

      carlashirley90 · 22/06/2015 at 15:13

Mine was starting with Rockliff then traded to Lewis when he punctured his lung, then Traded Lewis to Ebert after Lewis was a thug no regrets seeing Lewis lately, then traded Rockliff back in by culling a fattened cow only to have Rockiliff traded again! for Sloane last week

Holy hot damn no amount of planning can save you from having to burn trades

Bloody premium midfielders this year dancing around the fire at camp Krusty
      Selwood
      Watson
      Rockliff
      Lewis
      Griffen

        The Ranger · 22/06/2015 at 15:21

Hahaha! Thats my favourite so far Carla! Feels good to have a rant about it eh?!

        Glorin · 22/06/2015 at 17:29

I made a rule for myself a few years ago. Never bring a player back in that you have traded! Have stuck to it and have had less mental trauma as a result. Always more fish in the sea!

    SCaddict · 22/06/2015 at 15:48

Thought I was being disciplined holding Pops Kelly through the squished plum tragedy. He actually comes back a week or two earlier than the initial prognosis so I was thinking how good is this!

But no sooner had I got used to him back in my lineup he then goes and blows out his ankle in the first 5 minutes of the Port game and is sidelined indefinitely over the crucial byes. This also 'gifts' me his putrid jersey number as a score together with a sizable cash drop for my own personal kick in the plummage.

    Oh the humanity!

      The Ranger · 22/06/2015 at 16:24

Who'd have thought that James Kellys plums could cause so much pain to so many?!

    Flaccid Jaff · 22/06/2015 at 16:02

I really liked touk miller, watched him through the draft and snapped him up when he was named rd 1 instead of van berlo. Then after 2 tiny tiny scores from miller and 2 big scores from VB, I made the switch. A sensible option I thought. Immediately after that trade their forms reversed. so I ended up spending a precious trade to MISS OUT on miller’s precious cash!

      Jackson · 22/06/2015 at 20:08

did exactly the same Jaff cost us 100k to get nvb and he only made 100k. Bloody touk made 280k.

        Paul · 22/06/2015 at 22:45

I went Miller to vandenBerg who was good but not as good as Miller.

    derek · 22/06/2015 at 16:02

This isn't really a decision, but my worst moment in SC this year:

Forgetting to put the "E" on CEY in round 2 and having Sam Mitchell as a late out on Sunday and getting a Donut instead of 98SC points (I would be in the top 100 overall if not for that mistake).

Worst decision was starting with Griffin.

      The Ranger · 22/06/2015 at 16:26

Ah, the misplaced or forgotten E.
      We've all been there Derek.

        derek · 22/06/2015 at 17:49

the worst part of that was that Cripps was a late out on Friday night, but I had the E on Miller to cover Cripps. I decided not to put another E on CEY because I would then get the lowest of the two E's, so I let CEY's game start without an E. Then Sam was a late out on the Sunday and I was stuffed.

    Krazee-Eyez Killa · 22/06/2015 at 16:18

Trading in Selwood. Currently a big regret. Just get a bloody kick would ya mate

      Krazee-Eyez Killa · 22/06/2015 at 16:19

Also, I’ve mentioned this before, but stuffing up my captains loophole and not having the E on Nic Nat the first time he got 150 odd points. Was pretty enraged for a bit there

    Phat Man · 22/06/2015 at 17:31

Trading Cripps to NVB before round 3 back fired massively

      derek · 22/06/2015 at 17:49

I think a few people did that one.

      BKW · 23/06/2015 at 08:50

      Yeah that’s horrible

      Cam_H · 24/06/2015 at 11:21

At the time it wasn't an unreasonable move – VanBerlo under a new coach, new lease on life after a long term injury, and allegedly a free-er 'non tagging' role led to him to scores of 82 and 103 in the first two weeks for an instant $50K jump with more to come the week after. Cripps seemingly out of favour and dropped in Week 2 after a modest 53 in Week 1 did seem to present as a fair chopping block option. I also made this trade, and while it did backfire in hindsight, it wasn't in my view the dumbest decision based on the circumstances. I was mindful that VB has never been a particularly great SC scorer, but at a starting price of $215K, a rise to $400K-ish or more seemed quite feasible.

    Swans2012 · 22/06/2015 at 18:02

How about that last starting decision, thought this year I’ll only take premo midfielders that WILL finish top ten. Last decision chop jack Steven for sellwood by chopping goldy for belch at r2. Ranked 105 overall….what could have been.

      The Ranger · 22/06/2015 at 20:16

Ouch, that's a bad one Swanny!
My last minute one was to go with Griffen rather than Fyfe so that I could spread that extra cash around on my other promos.
Those other promos I got were Selwood and JPK.

        Swans2012 · 23/06/2015 at 17:50

Started with sidebum, first week gets injured
Traded out tarrant to rockliff, next week gets injured
Traded out griffen to mumford, next week gets injured, but still no regrets there

      The Ranger · 23/06/2015 at 11:53

Swap the names around and your post could be mine Tyler.
Injuries have been a killer this year. I'm down to 9 trades and still 3 short of a keepr team.

        Tyler · 23/06/2015 at 18:40

Yeah I’m down to 7 and still need to trade out mummy and get another fwd in. Hopefully I don’t get too many injuries from now on

        TRIGGER HAPPY · 24/06/2015 at 09:57

Yeah dont think anyone has avoided injuries. Killed us this year. Mine reads like:
        Ablett – Sloane (gets injured)
        Bartel
        LAMB
        Lambert
        Salem
        Wines
        Rocky (still holding)
        Kelly
Grundy/Bennell out when I needed them in the off bye week

Etc through necessity trade cupboard looking a bit bare.

Only real trades not caused by injury Griffen no idea why I started this guy) to Martin Rd 3 almost straight swap, krak to wines and rookie downgrades!

But Sloane went to Priddus for the same price before Priddus went 190
Bartel – bont jury still out on that one
Lamb – tarrent made cash time to trade in
        Salem – tmitch
        Wines – pendles
traded wines back in for krak
Grundy – Goldy Rd 11 (Goldy has since gone bang bang)
Bennell – holding but if doesn’t play this week might have to go.
So even though forced to trade most trades turned out OK so still might be able to salvage something but goes to show injuries can play a massive part in your SC fortunes.

      Nifty · 23/06/2015 at 18:30

      Ablett
      Rocky
      Bartel
      Sloane

Who you trading to this week Tyler?

        Tyler · 23/06/2015 at 18:38

I’m trading in Hodge, houli and roughy. Hodge is a gun, houli is killing it and roughead is underpriced.

          Nifty · 23/06/2015 at 20:36

          Cheers mate.

Gareth · 22/06/2015 at 15:29

What about trading in Josh 'what is his name' Glenn – talk about a complete waste of a trade?

    Youngy · 23/06/2015 at 23:12

We all make at least one bad trade throughout the year

PAPA · 22/06/2015 at 15:46

Thoughts on Lever to Edwards, Tarrent to Lambert, Lonie to Titch?

    BKW · 23/06/2015 at 08:52

Don’t hate it although I’m considering keeping Lonie a bit longer as bench cover and Lever still has at least $70k to make once he returns (-4 break even)

Pino · 22/06/2015 at 16:12

Which option:
Rich>Priddis
Tarrant>Zorko

OR

Rich>Sloane
Tarrant>Goddard/Dalhaus
Thanks

    Liam · 22/06/2015 at 17:18

    Rich to sloane
    Tarrant to dahl

    is ideal

      BKW · 23/06/2015 at 08:53

      Agree

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 10:05

    option 2

Pino · 22/06/2015 at 16:13

Who is the best forward option out of Goddard, Dalhaus, Titch and Bennell?

    mcleal10 · 22/06/2015 at 18:05

    God

    xav · 22/06/2015 at 22:38

Tich and house seem more consistent and less chance of injury Bennell might pick it up if Gazza comes back and he gets come a easy handballreceives and uncontested possessions

Goddard is soft good for SuperCoach but can trade someone you don't respect av

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 10:05

    Titch
    pure gun

derek · 22/06/2015 at 16:14

I can't decide between Sloane & Parker. Anyone else tossing up between the two. Would love to hear your thought process as to who to bring in.

I like Parker, but the extra $60k lets me get Delidio instead of Buddy.

Choice is Parker & Buddy
or Sloane & Delidio?

    CashCows · 22/06/2015 at 16:26

I'd lean Sloane + Deledio, just.

SC wise it's safer, with them playing closer to the midfield. Rather than having buddy as kpp.
Both being syd players might be something to think about. The point sharing might lower their ceiling.

But sloane's little head clash and lids' ankles(?) might be an issue.

      The Ranger · 22/06/2015 at 16:38

You can't do Sloane and Parker?
That would seem to be the safer option with Lids being a bit injury prone and Buddy being a KPP.
If you can't then it might depend on how many trades you have left.
You may have to account for trading Lids out if he misses a few.
Tough call either way but I'd go with Parker and Buddy.

        derek · 22/06/2015 at 17:45

I like that option Ranger. If I bring in Parker & Sloane, then I would have to get rid of Griffin……. is Griffin to Sloane sideways?

          Swans2012 · 22/06/2015 at 18:05

Semi, personally if I had griff I’d be trying to get him to an m9 loopholer, I don’t see a problem with buddy and Sloane if that gives you a greater chance of being able to slap a griffin type player to m9

    Mike · 22/06/2015 at 20:30

Look at Buddy’s run home. Roll the dice.

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 10:06

    go sloan
    such a gun

Jacko1998 · 22/06/2015 at 16:14

my team is NOW full premo

Backs: Murphy, Oxley, Newnes, Kolodjashnij, simpson, saad (A Pearce, Hamling)
Mids: Fyfe, danger, pendles, cotchin, selwood, beams, parker, cripps (Boston, Dumont, D Robinson)
Rucks: Goldy, Nic Nat (Cox)
Fwds: Martin, Gray, Mitchell, Zorko, Franklin, Dahlhaus (Krak, Lambert)
7 trades left, just kept trading til full premo. what does the community think of my team???

    CashCows · 22/06/2015 at 16:21

Rather loose translation of the term premo there.

You need to hold off on trading. 7 is way under. Other than that, decent.

      Ben Bretel · 22/06/2015 at 16:45

good team though saad oxely cripps premo ?

        BKW · 22/06/2015 at 17:12

I wouldn’t class Zorko premo either – or KK – lots of solid mid pricers in there

      Jacko1998 · 23/06/2015 at 10:16

      yeah lol

    Josh · 22/06/2015 at 17:39

best joke I've heard all day acko. Cripps, Saad, Kolo, Oxley even Newnes and Murphy are borderline premo. But hey, if that keeps you happy mate.

      Barney · 22/06/2015 at 17:45

They all scored very good last game. Better than Jelwood Maric etc

      Jacko1998 · 23/06/2015 at 10:17

saad and ox producing premo like scores though. defs rookie keepers this year

        mcleal10 · 24/06/2015 at 21:04

        No.

    derek · 22/06/2015 at 17:41

pretty good, would be better if you had some DPP players in your mids. At the moment you don't have any swing-sets across any of the lines. the next trade you make, see if you can swing either Krak or Lambert into the mids.

how much cash you have. If you have a few dollars, I would spend it on upgrading either Saad or Oxley to Shaw.

      Jacko1998 · 23/06/2015 at 08:10

      got 35.7k in bank

    mcleal10 · 22/06/2015 at 18:07

Definitely not a premo team.. you don't have many trades left which is a massive concern. In order to develop your team further you will need to be cautious with your trades.

    Glorin · 23/06/2015 at 09:31

Id say you might have 2 top ten defenders. As others suggest, play the cards you have with only 7 trades left.

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 10:08

if you plan on not trading for a few weeks thats an ok team
    not full premo though
Saad and cripps need to be upgraded Krak should have been downgraded ages ago and Dumont probably needs to go too

    Ethan · 23/06/2015 at 10:44

The likes of oxley, saad, kk and cripps can't really be counted as a premo.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 24/06/2015 at 13:34

Scoring like premos over the last month and the back line is so fickle besides r u shaw and hodge so staying in my team at the moment but may not be there at year end. So far have surpassed expectations for starting mid pricers or rooks.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 24/06/2015 at 13:37

Cripps going at 100 and with Judd out finding even more of the pill more premo than jelwood at the moment! Wouldn’t have thought I would have said that ever.

T.J.M · 22/06/2015 at 16:31

Can anyone suggest what trades I make this week? I have 80k in the bank.

Shaw, Hodge, Simpson, Gibson, Newnes, Hamling, Lever, Pearce
Fyfe, Beams, Priddis, Selwood, JPK, Parker, Treloar, Rocky, Dumont, McKenzie, Steele
Goldstein, Maric, Read
Gray, Swan, Franklin, Martin, Dahlhaus, Tarrent, Lonie, Goddard

Was thinking going Tarrent and Lonie to Krak and Titch. But not sure.

Anyone can suggest a trade? Much appreciated

    Krazee-Eyez Killa · 22/06/2015 at 16:36

To be honest I think you’ve missed the boat on both Krak and Titch. More so Krak

      T.J.M · 22/06/2015 at 18:24

Holy ****!!!!!! I was actually reading about Krak above and while listening to the podcast while the boys were saying it I just wrote his name in. I meant Lambert.

        Lambert or steele yeah

Henry · 22/06/2015 at 16:36

My team is almost full premo now!

Backs: Hodge, houli, hibbered, newnes, shaw and oxley.
Mids: Fyfe, armitage, wines, parker, heppell, wines, sloane and wallis.
Rucks Goldy, Blicavs
Fowards: Gray, bont, dusty, zieball, titch and swan.

Need some help with who to trade oxley to?
and who to trade wallis to in a few weeks thoughts would be appreciated community.

    Xavier · 22/06/2015 at 22:32

Two wines precious did you mean Wallis and could trade Oxley to a Harry Taylor type

    Luke · 23/06/2015 at 10:07

Where are you ranked? 190,000th? I would suggest oxley to simpson but your team is already deplorable so i can't really help. Sorry mate

      Everyone · 23/06/2015 at 11:43

Henry, ignore Luke, he's not representative of this community as a whole.
Get Simpson into your backline and wait a few weeks to see if you can get GAJ into your mids.

            Budstar · 25/06/2015 at 01:26

Well done Henry, nice team doing well in the rankings. Hold on Oxley low break even, a few tough matches coming up but if he does well could be worth keeping. Either Newnes or Ox though for Simpson. All depends who you have on the bench, trades and cash left though.

Ahhh yeah ignore tool of the week Luke, absolute goose!! All the best

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 24/06/2015 at 14:24

Geez Harsh. Can’t see too much wrong with your team Henry. Nice pods. Armitage killing it, biclavs the same, good defence probably upgrade ox Rd 14-15 as made his cash.

Zeibell and Wallis again pods, Wallis could smash it the next few games and zie can do anything so worth riding the roller coaster. Pretty good based on current form. Going better than most teams with jelwood, Lewis, jpk or rocky in the midst at this stage.

Barney · 22/06/2015 at 16:47

Hey Jock. Bellchambers out for 8. He’s Gawn from your team now.

Youngy · 22/06/2015 at 17:57

Is 560k to much to pay for Hodge?

    Swans2012 · 22/06/2015 at 18:09

Only if you can find a better option cheaper, seems a lock for top 6 defender barring any resting shenanigans. Should get cheaper at some point but……

      Swans2012 · 22/06/2015 at 18:09

So that’s basically a pay the money, get the player

    mcleal10 · 22/06/2015 at 18:11

I don't think so. He seemed to be playing with vindication last week and his points suggest that. Has a 110 breakeven this week which I think he will surpass. I strongly believe he will be the highest average by the end of the year.

    Bye Week · 22/06/2015 at 18:53

How many defenders avg over 100pts?
    3?
So yes he is definitely worth it. But like all defenders he will drop in price at some point

Locked and Loaded · 22/06/2015 at 18:37

Will have to keep Griff until finals need to be wary of trades and as an M8 it could be much worse. Laugh all you like but against the roos he looked good roamed around between back and on ball and with the injuries will start to get more of the pill.

    Barney · 22/06/2015 at 18:41

    I’m with you

    CoachDamo · 22/06/2015 at 19:00

I'm holding him for now too – I will hopefully have trades up my sleeve so come league finals time I will re-assess then.

Bye Week · 22/06/2015 at 18:46

I am currently planning to trade
kmac, saad and tarrant > Hodge, Simpson and steel

Would leave me with pretty much a full premo side

Good move or should I look at other defenders or trade Jessie Hogan instead of tarrant (one of them will be kept for bnch cover)?

Can afford any defenders I want.
Have Gibson, Smith, Shaw, mcdonald, saad, kmac (hamling, Pierce)

Cheers team

    CoachDamo · 22/06/2015 at 19:06

I'd definitely keep Hogan and trade Tarrant – his scores have been disastrous over the past 5 weeks.

All good trades though – I brought in Simpson and Steele last week.

Hodge has been great, but I worry about him at the end of the year. In the last few years he has missed a game late in the season (Rd 23 2014, Rd 20 2013, Rd 19 2011) so I'm not going there in case the same thing happens again. They play Brisbane in Rd 22 in Tassie – might be one for him to miss if he needs to freshen up before finals.

      Bye Week · 23/06/2015 at 20:42

Cheers Damo, Was only looking at hodge as there are only 4 defenders averaging over 100. So its hard to not have them

Tulendeena · 22/06/2015 at 18:52

Titch or Deledio?

Also, 2 of Beasley, Kavanagh and McLean?

    Marcus · 22/06/2015 at 20:13

Titch if you need money if you dont deledio.

    Tyler · 22/06/2015 at 20:54

If you got more than 12 trades get deledio in. Just keep a trade ready for if he goes down

Mitch · 22/06/2015 at 18:55

Is Edwards from Richmond a Keeper at f6?

Took a chance last week to bring him in as a POD but he really let me down. I do have 12 trades left

    Tyler · 23/06/2015 at 06:33

see how he goes for a few more weeks, maybe 2 more then re-evaluate

    Bye Week · 23/06/2015 at 20:45

I like Edwards as a keeper. hes broken a ton 6/9 times. Expect him to bounce back.

    Xavier · 22/06/2015 at 22:27

Hi guys I am upgrading Robbie Tarrant this week to complete my forward line, already have Gray, Dusty, Swan, BJ and Dalhaus.
I have $460k to upgrade him which doesn't leave me with many options or should I downgrade a rookie like lever so I can afford a buddy, titch or lids?

    Crowls · 23/06/2015 at 04:07

get titch or lids for dpp status so lever goes

      Marcus · 23/06/2015 at 15:46

Marcus · 22/06/2015 at 19:14

I have 16 playing this week 17 if lambert plays and i am wanting to trade tarrant. I only have 434k to buy someone though so i go for max gawn even though hes got the bye or get someone like tom bell? Im not holding onto tarrant any longer thats for sure

    xav · 22/06/2015 at 22:26

Motlop is around that mark isn't he he is a good m9 f7 with swing ability a good pickup

    Tyler · 23/06/2015 at 06:42

Bellchambers is out for around 8 weeks. The best players in your price range are devon smith, eddie betts, motlop, zorko and gawn

      Marcus · 23/06/2015 at 09:43

Motlop and devon smith have the bye and so does gawn. But id rather have a 0 one round than bad scores all year so who do you reckon out of the 3. Idk about zorko

to get Tmac instead of the likes B.Smith????
Cheers

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 10:12

DEF line is so fickle this season, i have more faith that Smith will go up in price compared to Tmac. both will probably score similar

markstar9 · 22/06/2015 at 21:37

Hey guys what do you reckon… is it worth it to bring in danger this week or get more value out of sloane? danger has a 150 be and sloane will start to rise now..?!

    xavdog · 22/06/2015 at 22:24

Groan go for Sloan a definite keeper he is ridiculous value prodded he does not get injured

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 10:12

If you have neither you MUST get Sloan based on value and price

@boltie_monster · 22/06/2015 at 21:56

My upgrades over the coming weeks look like either
Hannebery and Houli or
Heppel or other fallen premos and Shaw
Which One?

    Brooke Richards · 23/06/2015 at 07:45

Shaw is a gun so id say get him in with someone like Heppel who is great value, maybe look at Sloane if you don't have him already.

    heath Shaw, BE of 94
going by his avg he may not come much cheaper than he is atm
i always look for value so B.Smith is a clear choice
Malceski and Rance both have high BE and about the same price

xavdog · 22/06/2015 at 22:21

Nice podcast jock
Facing a major dilemma with my team with no money in the bank and still needing a d2 &3 plus dusty or lids as f2 with Gray I'm at a loss as to what to do also with only eight trades I am wondering how to get the cash.
I have Steele lambert stretch Boston Pearce lever and hamming for cash generation but might run out of trades with only eight left

Questions
Who are good options for D2&3 have shaw and Higgins already Brodie smith and newnes are d 5&6
And who is the best option for my last forward spot have Gray swan tich buddy and Bont
How much are we expecting each of the rookies to go up to ( mentioned above) love to hear what the community thinks
Cheers keep it up jock
Selwood is a prick

    derek · 23/06/2015 at 09:05

you might have to bite the bullet and trade a fyfe for a rocky to make some cash. Everyone has Fyfe, but few have Rocky. they have similar potential. Just a suggestion.

xav · 22/06/2015 at 23:02

Have lachie Neale worried he might be rested at the end of the year with Fyfe it is the Ross Lyon way so do is save trades to swap for finals or finish the team now

    derek · 23/06/2015 at 09:05

I worry about Ross lyon. I only have Fyfe from freo for that reason

Luke · 22/06/2015 at 23:19

Is it worth going Hogan to Bont? Only cost $50k and Bont has only had 1 bad score all year really that is now out of his price cycle. BE of 73, pretty comfortable draw.
If not Bont, who would be a better F6 under $500k. Current forward line is Gray, Martin, TMitch, Swan, Franklin, *Bont* (Motlop, Steele)

    Crowls · 22/06/2015 at 23:31

good call love the bont, however he looked listless last week. not sure if he has stamina to last season. had him since start of year look at ziebel, higgins, zorko, bennel as options. goddard is other option

    Ethan · 23/06/2015 at 10:46

i think a ruc/fwd in your F6/7 is a must in your team

      derek · 23/06/2015 at 11:27

      yes, but who?

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 11:58

i think theres better options. do some more research and see who else you can get but that said the bont is a class act

naice · 22/06/2015 at 23:52

Swan, Titch or Dahl?

    Locked and Loaded · 23/06/2015 at 09:30

Tough I have Swan and Dahl just cant trust Titch but thats me

      Glorin · 23/06/2015 at 09:50

I agree. Why dont I trust tmitch. There is no logical reason to not have him but there is something saying dont touch about him.
Also, when people use titch do they mean tom Mitchell or Shaun Edwards ( who’s nickname is titch). Have seen a lot titch, but not a lot in teams with edwards.

        derek · 23/06/2015 at 13:39

I don't think TMitch will get a game once Heeney and McGlynn are back next week

          Swans2012 · 23/06/2015 at 17:58

Kidding yourself, tmitch well ahead of Heeney, as secure as buddy is, won’t be rested and will continue to score… Now watch me eat my words as it all goes horribly wrong

            Youngy · 23/06/2015 at 23:19

I could see Heeney being in and T mitch being out, quiet easily.

Might be a bit biased cause I don't have him and want him to get dropped.

              Swans2012 · 24/06/2015 at 07:18

Yep biased (I am too though), different roles, and t Mitchell has locked himself in. Bird would come in and replace someone before heeney imo

naice · 22/06/2015 at 23:54

Or Goddard? ^

    Youngy · 23/06/2015 at 16:50

    Goddard or Swan

Outsourced IT · 23/06/2015 at 04:49

Is it worth holding of full premo for a couple of weeks
to get Tmac instead of the likes B.Smith????
Cheers

    Glorin · 23/06/2015 at 09:42

Hold off getting smith. As long as the trade out player wont lose money and you can field a side (18) this week. Smith will bottom out next week and you get to see if he will increase his output. He looked a shadow of a man last week.

    nathan · 23/06/2015 at 10:56

Smith has a b/e of 54 so jump on him this week if you are gonna take him
He still got a heap of the pill just was struggling to hit the target
Id go smith out of the two if i had to choose but i bought both of them in last week

Locked and Loaded · 23/06/2015 at 09:40

Houli or Simpson?
Hanners or Priddis?

    naice · 23/06/2015 at 12:52

I have both Houli and Simpson. Both have their days and can surprise you with big scores, I just feel Simpson will come home stronger, both guns.

Tough. I'd personally go Priddis due to his strong consistency but toss of the coin. Neither will let you down

    Youngy · 23/06/2015 at 23:19

    Simpson and Priddis

Liam · 23/06/2015 at 09:59

S.Edwards or T.McDonald next week??
If you chose Tmac that means i will have to keep Higgins in my forward line.
Cheers

    Luke · 23/06/2015 at 10:02

Tmac is a much better option and about 40k cheaper to

nathan · 23/06/2015 at 10:53

So my team is pretty much good to go

10 trades left

Looking at moving on selwood for sloane

I know its a side trade but he just isnt getting the job done

Still not sure if ill do it or not

my only forward im concerned about is ryder… what do i do with him?

But besides that should i upgrade my backs

I have Mcdonald, shaw, smith, newnes, ibbotson and higgins

I bought in smith and Mcdonald last week but the rest ive had all year and just seem to be in form

@wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 11:22

MOST TRADE OUT PLAYERS IN MY TEAM

SELWOOD
GRAY
ROCKLOBSTER

Would not have thought i would have seen this at the start of the season.

I appeal to all SC players

HOLD ON YOUR PREMOS!!!!!!

even rocky. he will back soon

    Youngy · 23/06/2015 at 16:51

Completely Agree with ya Wheels. I believe these players will get back up.

      Swans2012 · 23/06/2015 at 18:00

Agree agree agree although I’m considering something a little left field….

SC Virgin · 23/06/2015 at 11:28

Selwood to sloane

Rocky to JPK?

got a few port players so probably need to upgrade. Selwood just going I feel carrying the midfield.

Thoughts?

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 11:59

    no sideways trades
    hold

      SC Virgin · 23/06/2015 at 16:16

Isn’t it only sideways if it doesn’t improve your team and u have to trade again to get a premo? Both these guys are fallen premos and i intend to keep them for the remainder of the year and can see them outscoring jelwood and rocky? Sounds OK to me or am I missing something?

    Derek · 23/06/2015 at 12:55

Selwood is a gun. I watched him try and lift his team on Sunday, the goal he kicked showed how good he is.

Last week he was tackled everytime he touched the ball and usually before he touched it.

He was 12SC at half time and scored 60 in second half

      SC Virgin · 23/06/2015 at 16:18

Exactly has to do it all and gets sat on every week by the opposition. Can’t find space any more.

    Favalinko U Beauty · 23/06/2015 at 13:40

Have to hold Rocky now since you held onto him this long. He should be back round 14

Joe · 23/06/2015 at 12:08

Whats better community?

Newnes –> Houli
Oxley –> Houli

Thoughts??

    Locked and Loaded · 23/06/2015 at 12:37

    Ox

    Derek · 23/06/2015 at 12:49

I’m keeping Newnes. I like his DPP and I like he is a genuine midfielder and plays plenty of time in the guts

    @wheels_1987 · 23/06/2015 at 15:12

    hold both for now
    Newnes = keeper
    Ox = Low BE

    Youngy · 23/06/2015 at 16:51

    Get rid of The Ox

Jono · 23/06/2015 at 13:10

Franklin or Reiwoldt? Similar prices, similar ceiling. Thinking Reiwoldt for POD. Community change my mind…..

    derek · 23/06/2015 at 13:37

im just worried that Reiwoldt's teeth are so long they will be dragging in the dirt.

    Joe · 23/06/2015 at 14:06

Both of them should give you 85-120 output every week, however reiwoldt is much older than buddy and recent injuries and head knocks are worrying. The amount of attention he needs on that knee just to get up for each game is enormous i've heard.

      northernsoul74 · 23/06/2015 at 15:23

I assumed he was referring to Jack Reiwoldt. I wouldn't take Nick but Jack could be tempting as a POD.

        Jono · 23/06/2015 at 17:14

yeah referring to Jack. Need a POD in the forward line.

Liam · 23/06/2015 at 13:50

Zorko or Edwards

    Youngy · 23/06/2015 at 23:20

    Zorko

Brooke Richards · 23/06/2015 at 15:36

Should I bring in Buddy or Titch as my last forward?
Or I could trade into Maxy Gawn and use him until another nice option crops up and leave him as ruck cover for the rest of the year?

sam · 23/06/2015 at 17:54

Is this a good finished team?
Def: Hodge, Shaw, Simpson, Newnes, Lumumba, B.Smith (Lever, Hamling)

Mid: Fyfe, Priddis, Pendlebury, Kennedy, Shiel, Swallow, Barlow, Sloane ( Dumont, Steele, Mckenzie)

Forward: Gray, Martin, Goddard, Swan, titch, dahlhous ( Tarrant, Lambert)

Please comment!!!!

    Swans2012 · 23/06/2015 at 19:21

Looks good, midfield might be a little light without danger beams rocky and co is all. Trades left?

      Swans2012 · 23/06/2015 at 19:22

      And lumumba is a concern

      sam · 24/06/2015 at 16:53

      11 left

        matt · 25/06/2015 at 07:42

        rucks also: Goldstein, naitanui

T.J.M · 23/06/2015 at 18:39

Thoughts on my team? 80k in the bank. 13 trades.
Simpson, Shaw, Gibson, Hodge, Newnes, Hamling, Pearce, Lever
Fyfe,JPK, Beams, Selwood, Parker, Treloar, Priddis, Rocky, Steele, McKenzie, Dumont
Goldy, Maric, Read
Gray, Swan, Martin,Franklin, Dahlhaus, Tarrent, Lonie, Goddard

Not sure what trades to make. Can anyone suggest some please?

    Donavan · 23/06/2015 at 21:26

I think you need to look at trading Tarrant as a priority, and also need the last piece of the backline solved, I think that should be Brodie Smith (maybe for Lever).

Also be ready to move Rocky, depending on how his ribs hold-up.

Rawkus11 · 23/06/2015 at 19:23

Gonna give Griffen the arse this week!
Who does the community feel would be better to pick up: Pendles, Montagna, or Hannebery?
I'm leaning towards Joey M

    Liam · 23/06/2015 at 19:51

    Pendles for sure

Donavan · 23/06/2015 at 21:36

Suggested trades please.

I have 10 trades remaining and $43,300 in the bank.

McDonald, Shaw, Ibbotson, Hibberd, Simpson, B.Smith (Saad, Hamling)
Fyfe, Pendlebury, JPK, Priddis, M.Murphy, Lewis, Shiel, Selwood (Boston, Steele, Glenn)
Goldstein, Maric (Cox)
Gray, B.Goddard, Franklin, Motlop, Gunston, Hogan (Dale, Lonie)

I am erring on the side of not trading for a while. My targetted upgrades are –
Mid – Ablett in 4-5 weeks
Fwd – Dustin Martin (in for Hogan) in 2-3 weeks.

Thoughts?

    SammyBoy · 23/06/2015 at 22:04

Definitely saving a mid spot for gaz, would hate to go into the battle of finals without the magnificent man!

      Dee · 23/06/2015 at 23:24

You just gotta fit him in your team… Maybe in 2-3 weeks, when he hits form and is fit…

SammyBoy · 23/06/2015 at 22:01

9 trades remaining, 2 spots away from full premi with only $11k in the bank, am I in a good position community?

    Dee · 23/06/2015 at 23:22

not bad mate, who are your rookies that will generate cash for your last 2 premium selections?

      SammyBoy · 24/06/2015 at 07:03

I believe so, still have can Ellis-yolmen, but all other have been brought in fairly recently and will still generate cash

        SammyBoy · 24/06/2015 at 07:07

A.Pearce, T. Dumont (if he’s not sub) has money to give, Dan Mackenzie, J.Steele, #krakisback and J.lonie

Dee · 23/06/2015 at 23:27

What do I do with Selwood? I feel like he is just hanging on in as my M8, I think of better selection at the minute…. Will he come good lads? Or is this just a bad year for him and will continue to be so…. Would love your thoughts community!

    hedski · 24/06/2015 at 00:00

Have a bit of faith. Just got him cheap.

Brewmaster · 24/06/2015 at 00:21

Community,
Should I?
Out – Bellchambers, Hogan and CEY
In- Gawn, Steele and Pendlebury
Leaving me with 11 trades, one premo away and top of my main league. Ranked 14k so only going for league premiership.
Thoughts please.

Brewmaster · 24/06/2015 at 01:37

As my last midfield upgrade.
Who's better value, Sloane or Pendlebury?

    Swans2012 · 24/06/2015 at 07:13

Sloane if the extra 60k saving lets you do something else, pendles if it’s all about the points.

    derek · 24/06/2015 at 09:23

Pendlebury is a dead set gun.

    chandanrajdb · 24/06/2015 at 09:26

Both are value picks at their current price….I will be going with the Rolls Royce of the game DEPENDLEBURY…..

    Cheers,
    Raj

    carlashirley90 · 24/06/2015 at 09:52

Pendlebury is the most consistent premium player ever though many believe he can still average 120 at years end like the 3 previous years I think this year is very different especially the Collingwood team having a lot of young midfielders but yeah reckon Pendles is good for 115-120 avg from this point on.

Sloane is hungry just signed another 3 years and will want to show why Adelaide has to have him. Sloane does not get effected as much as Danderfield does when they both play, SC wise having Danger playing in the midfield helps Sloane even more so and I would expect 109-114 avg from this point on.

Both good options, your team hope this helps

    papa · 24/06/2015 at 17:16

even without consideration of the price difference i would definetly go sloane, that's just me though

Kinnas · 24/06/2015 at 08:52

Thoughts on Watson vs Sloane?

    chandanrajdb · 24/06/2015 at 09:29

Sloane for me…..I do not have any confident in picking Watson….

    Cheers,
    Raj

    carlashirley90 · 24/06/2015 at 09:48

Watson is in the same basket as Selwood this year sadly don't bring in a problem
Sloane still the best priced midfield player to bring in for scoring output

    Youngy · 25/06/2015 at 21:59

Sloane in a blink of an eye

lolattack · 24/06/2015 at 09:05

thoughts on my completed team?

Backs: Shaw, Gibson, Hodge, Simpson, Yeo, Smith (Pearce, Hamling)
Mids: Fyfe, Pendlebury, Parker, Selwood, Jack, Sloane, Cripps, Griffen (McKenzie, Glenn, Amon)
Rucks: Goldstein, Naitanui
Forwards: Gray, Martin, Dahlhaus, Swan, S. Edwards, T. Mitchell

    derek · 24/06/2015 at 09:22

I like your POD – Jack, Edwards & Yeo. Rest of team looks a lot like many others.

Although you don't have any MID/FWD swing set, that is always handy.

    carlashirley90 · 24/06/2015 at 09:47

Have to keep Selwood don't listen to what others say I know it's hard
Back line looks real good and Cripps can be up graded to Ablett in time stay away from Rockliff!!!

carlashirley90 · 24/06/2015 at 09:43

Heard on MMM radio this morning that Leaver from Adelaide most probably will be playing back into the SANFL

My trades this week are Hogan, Griffen and Leaver out
Bring in : Lambert, Pendlebury, Houli
Or
Bring in : Bont, JPK, Docherty

If I choose 2nd option I get my Mid Fwd swing set from Steele on my mid bench and F7
Why F7? Because I have Zorko still

    derek · 24/06/2015 at 10:43

Lever is a really nice player. I'm going to hold him as bench cover as I do believe he can score ok, and it might just be when I need him.

I think having a M9/F7 swing player is essential. I brought in Motlop a couple of weeks ago (when he was $388k) with the plan to have him as my M9/F7 swing. I'm also considering having Hodge in my midfield instead of Sloane. This way Motlop can cover my Mid, Fwd & Defence (via Hodge). Zorko is of similar type to Motlop.

      carlashirley90 · 24/06/2015 at 13:14

Yeah that will prove to be a handy player

    Donavan · 24/06/2015 at 17:22

    Lambert, Pendles & Houli.

I am guessing that Lambert will be on the bench as back-up.

Ted · 24/06/2015 at 10:38

thinking of trading hogan to P.Ryder when he returns.
I know he wont score absolute premium but im banking on about a 90 av from when he returns to the ned of te seaon. This also gives much needed ruck cover via swing, so i can ue the rest of my trades to uprgradeto full premium lines. I rate ryder over gawn on past years performances as well as the fact gawn is yet to play a decent ruckman. Thoughts?

hey guys – struggling to make decisions this week so thought I would throw my team up and take some suggesstions.
13 Trades left $12k in the bank as I upgrade TBC to Martin last week.

DEF: Shaw,Murphy,Laird,KK,Oxley,Lever – Hamling Goddard

MID: Fyfe,Shiel,Parker,Danger,Lewis,Gray,Selwood,Cripps – Boston,Mckenzie,Glenn

RUCK: Goldy,MNartin – Read

FWD: Dusty,Franklin,Mitchell,Bennell,D.Smith,Swanny – Lonie,Tarrant

cheers

    Jdogg · 24/06/2015 at 12:18

Look to downgrade Tarrant and Glenn and use the money to upgrade Oxley (next week) to T Mac and then you could upgrade Lever to B.Smith.

    Donavan · 24/06/2015 at 17:26

I would keep Oxley whilst he continues to perform well.

Lever to Smith is a good option.

    Also downgrade Tarrant to Steele.

Jdogg · 24/06/2015 at 11:36

Need Some advice ($40k in the bank and 9 trades left):

Def: shaw, Houli, Rance, Smith B, Higgins, Lever (McKenzie, Dalgleish)
Mid: Fyfe, Pendles, Wines, Armitage, Beams, JPK, Cripps, Sloane (Boston, Amon, Anderson)
Ruck: Goldstein, Nic Nat (Read)
Fwd: Dusty, Dahlhouse, Swan, Gray, Buddy, Zorko (Dale, Steele)

Gareth · 24/06/2015 at 12:38

Is Dahlhouse a good upgrade from Hogan or could I find a few cheaper options (Edwards, Riewoldt) that can give me just as good as output but for 50 grand less.

    Locked and Loaded · 25/06/2015 at 11:44

    Dahl great option

    Youngy · 25/06/2015 at 21:58

to do so I need to trade out either Newnes or Saad

Thoughts please.

    Jdogg · 24/06/2015 at 19:43

Saad for me. Newnes could be a decent D5/6 depending on your cashflow.

The Ranger · 24/06/2015 at 21:22

Gotta trade in a FWD or MID rookie this week to make my other trades work.
Seriously considering Lambert if he's named but would like the Community's thoughts on who else I should be considering in order of preference?
Edwards? Neal-Bullen? Kavanagh? Anyone else?

    The Ranger · 24/06/2015 at 22:18

    Oops….Fantasia not Edwards.
    Already got Steele too.

Tiger · 24/06/2015 at 21:34

I’m ranked in the 2500’s overall so doing okay. I’m in a competitive league for $100 buy in. Need help deciding on who is the keeper as a bench player out of Tarrant or Krakouer to keep? I’m bringing in Jack Steele this week I know it’s a risk but a risk I see paying off jumping on early even though he has his bye. He will play and at least be named for the next two games. Get on board early for the perfect one up one down combination trade. Always back your gut and it’s worked for me this season. So if I keep Krakouer instead of Tarrant I have that all important mid/fwd swing for Steele and Krakouer. Krakouer on the benches if needed to play. Although Tarrant probably has higher job security. Tough one. HOGAN or TARRANT? Please community

    The Ranger · 24/06/2015 at 22:27

DPP's are gold at times mate. Tarrant is unlikely to ever be gold.

cant split Dahlhaus and Goddard. maybe Dahl because of Dogs easy draw.

    Pendlelbury by a long way.

luke · 25/06/2015 at 13:54

Considering gawn as f6/7/ruck cover. Is it stupid to trade him in this week so that I will still have 2 trades available next week? Would be trading from Hogan and would still have 19 playing this week. The other alternative is bont. Bont will have an extra game on gawn, so more chance to score points. But is that ruck backup worth it?

How am I looking with 10 trades left and 210k in the bank y’all? I’m thinking I’m probably going to need to get a few POD’s and some ruck cover, but other than that I think i’m going okay. Currently ranked 2172. Am hoping I can look at turning somebody like Wallis or Cripps into GAJ depending on how low he drops.

DEF: Shaw, Hodge, Newnes, B. Smith, Simpson, Ibbotson (Pearce, Hamling)

MID: Fyfe, Pendles, Beams, JPK, Sloane, Selwood, Cripps, Wallis, (Boston, McKenzie, Glenn)

RUCK: Goldy, NicNat (Cox)

FWD: Gray, Buddy, Martin, Goddard, Titch, Swan (Lonie, Steele)

Would love some feedback if anybody has any. Always open to ideas

Hey Guys,

Need your advice?

I have 18 Trades Left with $131,000 in the Bank and currently sit within Top 5%

Backs: Burgoyne , Ibbotson , Newnes , Hibberd, A.Saad, Heath Shaw ( Lever / McInstosh)
Mids: Fyfe, Danger, J.Kennedy, Goddard, Griffen, Shiel, Wallis, Bonti ( T.miller / D.Sheed / J.Glenn)
Rucks: Goldy, Nic Nat ( M.Cox)
Fwds: Martin , Swan, Motlop, T.Mitchell, R.Tarrant, J.Lonie ( Hogan/ T.Lamb)

What should I do? Still have 3 Trades for this week too!!?

Move miller on for Steele and use upgrade money on your forward line. That needs some work.

I would look at trying to bring in Robbie Gray at some point soon. Has a high BE so you could hold off a bit, but is priced just under 550k at the moment. He had 63 points before he got knocked out prior to half time on the weekend.
