Chicko’s Check In – Mmmmm donuts…

Published by Jock on

Chicko - elite fantasy analyst

Dear Supercoach God, I write this open letter to beg for your forgiveness. You have taken many a good man, be thy named Lewis or Hodge, they did not turn the other cheek, and they were taken. This week you have sacrificed Sloane, Cripps and young lambs Salem, Lonie, B Smith and B Brown. I am not sure what sins I have committed, but please do not take thy Fyfe away via his reporting for a random trip. We all slip sometimes our dear SC lord. As Lekdog has said, Fyfe Is Life. Through my open mocking of your disciples (players) with an abundance of hair and those that have been christened with ginger pubage, it seems I have personally angered thy Champion Data Lord Up High. Would all be forgiven if I spent some alone time in the confessional and said the great prayer? Would all be forgiven if I said ten Hail Garys? Please dear Supercoach lord, I beg of your mercy. Your humble servant, Chicko.

Apologies community, I had to start with that letter to the SC gods as it appears I  have poked the bear. You may recall my shaming of players with too much hair, (okay, mainly Cotchin) and players with ranga heritage, and it has come back to bite me like a snake on the nurries. Just this weekend we have seen men with Solomon styled bouffants rack up monster scores – check this out: Curling Wand Priddis 196, Manicured Bangs Cotchin 162, Wolfman Fyfe 146, Magnificent Mullet Maric 139 and then you have the red tinged variety with Orange Roughy 145 and Sauce Jacobs 130! That is a two fingered salute of the highest order my dear friends.

It’s been another weekend of absolute carnage and those who have dodged bullets will undoubtedly shoot up the rankings. It looks like scores of barely 2,000 will be quite common, but those with scores of 2,200 or 2,300 and above will rocket up the rankings. One of the inner sanctum and JR pre-season contributor, in the great man General Soreness, smashed out a 2,389 and is now at the very sharp end of the rankings at 38. Well done General – go you good thing!! For me this weekend, I had $1m of prime midfield meat sitting on the pine (Sloane and Lewis), so knew I would be in for some short term pain, in the hope for some long term gain but then came the news that Cripps was a late withdrawal thus this weekend witnessed my first  sampling of an on-field Krispy Kreme donut….hence the title. Let me just say, it wasn’t at all pleasing to the ol taste buds.

So what is this week’s dilemma?

After lambasting myself last week for trading out Salem, his hamstring went ping and he scored a lowly 16 for those coaches who kept him. Then we saw the clash of heads from Saint Nick and Brodie Smith who scored 22 and 16 respectively. I have Smith firmly on my radar to pick up in a few weeks if he can get a good run at it. Young lamb Lonie also out with his score on 3 and sadly it looks like Jaensch and Mitch Duncan will be in for long lay-offs.

Last week I went Heeney to Dmac and, as per the central topic of last week’s Check-In, I went with Barry Mitchell’s-son. I traded Hogan to Titch and at this early stage it looks like I may have pulled the right rein as Hulk was a late out whilst Titch pumped out a rather pant swelling 128. I had a tweet during the week asking if Sloane to Priddis, Heeney to Dmac, or Hogan to Titch would be good trades. As I just mentioned, I went with the latter two trades for the Chumps……apologies Jedd! Didn’t Priddis absolutely light it up with his 196. I’ve decided to hold Sloane but am re-visiting that decision after this week’s rectal examination.

We have plenty of plump  cows ready for the axe, the question is will you downgrade or upgrade or both? For me, it looks like the time has come to say farewell to Vandenberg (a breakeven of 98) whilst the clock is ticking for the likes of  Oxley (breakeven of 95), Mitch Clark (breakeven 39) and K-Mac (who may survive another week whilst Saad remains injured). For those that kept Salem, it may now be time to say goodbye. Lonie may also have run his race.

I suspect there are a lot of coaches with decent warchests and there will be some upgrading going on this week. This is the nub of my dilemma this week – which players should we be looking at to bring into our squads and boost our scoring power?

So what am I thinking about this week?

This week, I am simply focused on upgrades. For the past two weeks I have mentioned both BJ Goddard and JPK and will be bringing one of them in, if not both of them. Just need to think about the balance of the squad as my back line is giving my sphincter some vice like tightening – Tom McDonald might be the answer to all your problems down back! Read the Dex Files on Tmac right here.

Other notable big scores this week included: Luke Parker back to his best with a 148, Beams a salivating 141, Lids The Barometer for the Tigers at 133, T-mac another 120+ score, JPK had another ton with 122, Buddy 119 and BJ went at 114. There are a couple of very tasty fallen premiums on the horizon with Selwood at $532k and a breakeven of 125 and Rocky at $447 with a breakeven of 79. HOWEVER, depending on how Rockliff scores, he may be available at under $400k come Round 10 – that is unbelievable buying right there! It’s all about balance fellow supercoaches. Lever is the only downgrade target of any note on the bubble this week, just not sure he is worth it. Lots of dilemmas, but I am focused on upgrades this week. I have a warchest and I am willing to spend it!

Over to you community, the poll this week is, who will you upgrade to this week?

Liam · 18/05/2015 at 13:20

Love your work Chicko

    Chicko · 18/05/2015 at 16:15

Thanks Liam old mate, hope the gods have been kind to you.

Johny · 18/05/2015 at 13:21

Rocky;s role seems different this year. It seems Beams and Redden have taken his job and he is spending more time up forward. Should buyer beware?

    Blackie White · 18/05/2015 at 14:47

Given the freakish injury run Rocky’s had, we probably can’t draw too many conclusions on his role for now.
But pretty sure Leps & Lions cannot afford to not have him playing midfield, if he is fit enough.
Still though, may be a slow recovery from two concussions, as with Brodie Smith, so slow recovery back to gun scoring?

      Luke · 18/05/2015 at 14:58

1 concussion, other was ribs for memory

        Swans2012 · 18/05/2015 at 17:33

Ever broken a rib? Sore for ages, reckon it'll be coming good any day now

    Willys Guns · 18/05/2015 at 17:23

Only playing forward for fitness, 3rd wk back jump on, I am

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:42

with his price i think you just have to have him.

    Tyler · 19/05/2015 at 20:51

Rocky played most of his U18s as a forward due to a bad broken leg he suffered the season before, so don't be surprised if he bags a haul of goals, hes a very good mark overhead too.

General Soreness · 18/05/2015 at 13:22

Chicko, great article as always mate, love the open letter mate reckon you have captured the thoughts of many a supercoacher.

    Chicko · 18/05/2015 at 16:14

Thanks General! You have managed to escape the wrath and I hope you keep on that wave mate! Massive chance is the General!

Lime · 18/05/2015 at 13:25

mcintosh >>>> Yeo? Quite keen on this trade because of the Eagles Form and Yeo's new role for the Eagles generating much higher scores for him

    r2d2 · 18/05/2015 at 13:29

Do you have Oxley ? If so could go ox to Yeo ?

    Youngy_ · 18/05/2015 at 14:33

I still think Yeo needs to prove himself.

      BundyBear · 18/05/2015 at 23:01

I think yeo has proved himself. There are others that need to start playing. I think Yeo is in great form and very worthy of a good look. Im getting him in. Lots of upside. Playing like a premo for midprice value. But what would i know. Eagles for the flag. Dockers going down. Just saying

    Danners16 · 18/05/2015 at 15:03

McGovern wasn't playing, I wouldn't be looking at Yeo just yet, probably look elsewhere

      Swans2012 · 18/05/2015 at 17:35

Doesn't McGovern play in defence? Yeo is a hard out midfielder now, if I had the space this week I'd bring him in….

        BundyBear · 18/05/2015 at 23:02

I have watched Yeo for the last 3 weeks. No more looking. he is in.

      PreviouslyOnLost · 18/05/2015 at 19:16

If anything, McGovern not playing bodes better for Yeo. Yeo played through the middle and didn't get stuck as a key defender with McGovern (and the others) out.

        Danners16 · 19/05/2015 at 10:21

Sorry guys I thought Yeo was still playing in the back half, might be worth a look then

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:43

i would hold Kmac for now
look for others to trade out

and beware of Yeo, not a proven SC player yet

r2d2 · 18/05/2015 at 13:27

Vandenberg to lever (via saad ) and Oxley upto y Mac …. Thoughts ???

    r2d2 · 18/05/2015 at 13:29

    T Mac

      Luke · 18/05/2015 at 14:59

Keep Isley to the bye has easy run, he will reward you

    Rodger · 18/05/2015 at 20:48

I cannot understand how u can go vandenburg to lever?? Can u pls explain

      Jack · 18/05/2015 at 21:24

      Sub Saad into the midfield.

        randomcliche · 19/05/2015 at 22:35

Du ring the trade there are s buttons down the side. Try em out bud.

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:44

    Big spend for Tmac

If you can pull off Vberg to Lever good trade.

Spend your warchest on a FWD or DEF

too many players burning trades in DEF

Kyle · 18/05/2015 at 13:30

Hey Guys, 189 in the bank and looking to get rid of someone for rocky this week. Does anyone know how long Ellis Yolmen is going to be out for? Don’t have enough to upgrade from Heeney but can from Ellis Yolmen.

Or should i ditch A. swallow or griffin to rocky?? Or is this stupid trading un-injured players?

🙂 please help 🙂

    Marco_Polo94 · 18/05/2015 at 13:55

No way you can downgrade elsewhere to upgrade Heeney? I'm holding CEY he won't be out much longer.

      Kyle · 18/05/2015 at 16:30

Cheers mate how long is heeeney supposed to be out do u know?

        Marco_Polo94 · 18/05/2015 at 20:07

Errrr 4-6 off the top off my head

    Youngy_ · 18/05/2015 at 14:36

Should be back next week, but you never know.

Hold CEY he still has cash to make.

      Luke · 18/05/2015 at 15:01

You want loose much with CEY, only has extra 70k to make, rocky at 450k at some point will be 600+

You are sacrificing $70k to make 150 and a possible 110 ave from here on out

    Danners16 · 18/05/2015 at 15:02

Check if CEY is in the teams this week, then make a decision. I'm sick of Griffen and I will be getting rid of him

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:45

    hold Swallow and Griffen
i have Swallow but we must hold.

Griffen is the same. he will pull out a 130+ when you trade him out.

Rocky is so cheap with your warchest you could easility upgrade a rookie.

If you have held Ellis-Yolmen, rumor is that is will play this week so if you still have him. HOLD

Muzz · 18/05/2015 at 13:30

thoughts on Oxley to Yeo? and cash in on Vandenberg to someone for some money in the kitty…

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:46

avoid Yeo at this stage, not a proven SC player yet

Marco_Polo94 · 18/05/2015 at 13:33

What's the go with Joshua Glenn? Valid downgrade option this week? Or is that a long term injury? Love the article I'm upgrading 3 and downgrading 1 over the next two weeks.

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:46

He is a good player. wait and see if he is named this week

Mozz · 18/05/2015 at 13:40

This week i'm going
Oxley –> McDonald
Sloane –> Rocky

    Youngy_ · 18/05/2015 at 14:32

That's what I would be doing if I still had sloane.

    Good Solid Trades

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:46

    Sloan – Rocky good
    Oxley – Tmac bad

Liam · 18/05/2015 at 13:49

is it worth bringing in a ruckman like mummy or goldy,
or saving a bit of cash and going with blicavs?

    Marco_Polo94 · 18/05/2015 at 13:54

I reckon you've missed the boat with Blicavs. And goldy for that matter. Bringing in a fallen premo in Mummy could be your best bet.

    Youngy_ · 19/05/2015 at 11:06

    Agree with Marco.

    Mummy is your best option

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:47

    i agree with marco polo

      randomcliche · 19/05/2015 at 22:39

Jacobs and mummy play each other this week. Jacobs has the lower breal even. I’ve gone Jacobs But think the two are virtually substituteable. Both are better than goldy for the price.

Youngy_ · 18/05/2015 at 14:11

Have we missed the train on players like McDonald, Goddard, Priddis, Titch

I wanna bring these players in, but don't want to lock in a loss.

    Deesnuts · 18/05/2015 at 16:23

Goddard and Priddis are being traded into my team this week. If they can keep up the scoring for that price they are both top 6 in there position and should stay there for the whole season.

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:47

    look for value elsewhere

sorry to say but you missed the train and you dont wanna lock in a loss against the rest of SC

look at someone like Keiran Jack

Ethan · 18/05/2015 at 14:55

Should I aim to get Tom McDonald next week

The only way I could get him is going a double downgrade this week ( Lonie–>de goey via dpp and Macintosh to lever) then upping oxley to McDonald

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:48

Mcdonald is a train you have missed mate.

    look for other options

      Ethan · 19/05/2015 at 17:23

is lever worth jumping on still?

        SideBySidebottom · 19/05/2015 at 17:31

Lever's on the bubble. This is the time to get him if you want a defence downgrade.

          Ethan · 19/05/2015 at 18:13

so out of mcintosh and oxley who should go?

            SideBySidebottom · 19/05/2015 at 21:26

Most are selling Oxley, but I'm keeping him for point scoring and selling McIntosh.

        Wheels1987 · 20/05/2015 at 08:07

Crows have some injury concerns so if he gets the green light jump on

Luke · 18/05/2015 at 15:08

That's not a good thought process you have, if you saw a car for sale worth $30k for $20k, would you buy it, even if other paid $10k? Of course you would because it is still under the market value!

In essence your not loosing anything with players that you perceived are under there market value, buy them and they will reward you for your trade

    General Soreness · 18/05/2015 at 15:30

Luke I understand your comment which is totally correct for that scenario. But add into that scenario that there is likely to be another car or two also worth $30K for $10K in the near future. Thus the thought process is fine.

scrofl · 18/05/2015 at 15:32

Thinking of going for a double upgrade this week.
VDB > Rocky, and Lumumumba > R. Murphy.

    Mr chan · 18/05/2015 at 20:00

Same, except I’m getting t Mac
Seen him at it and he’s the real deal

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:49

    hold the prince
just as likely to go big next week

BCHawks · 18/05/2015 at 15:35

Only 1 trade for me this week because I have used to many Oxley to Rocky via Saad.

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:50

im holding Oxley. he has a decent average compared to most DEF players. as long as he keep scoring the way he is, im happy to hold, even if he dont make no more money

josh · 18/05/2015 at 15:43

is rocky definatley worth getting this week?
i would prefer to get him next week for cripps but just wondering if he will go up this week?

    Traderlyf · 18/05/2015 at 16:25

    thinking the same thing

    @KingWinter7 · 18/05/2015 at 16:35

I'm probably gonna wait until after his bye

      The Bont · 18/05/2015 at 17:24

If he maintains an average of 110, something I'd expect at the very least from him, his price will be around 520k. Not worth waiting

    The Bont · 18/05/2015 at 17:22

breakeven of around 80. Price will increase by 10-15k this week

    Tyler · 18/05/2015 at 18:01

Yeah it’d be fine to wait a week to pick him up. No garuntees he will even hit his BE this week so he might even go down more

      josh · 18/05/2015 at 21:17

i was thinking of getting sam mitchell this week then rockliff next week for cripps

        John_Q_Smith · 18/05/2015 at 22:18

Not sold on Smitch as Lewis is back his week which will eat into his ball with Hodge back soon too. If you want a R11 bye player then Rocky is your man this week. You can always hold Cripps for another week or two as he should definitely make his BE of 68 against the Cats.

foxy · 18/05/2015 at 15:50

Gone Vandenberg to rocky and hogan to buddy. Thoughts? Think buddy is about to explode in the coming weeks

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:53

i personally prefer FWD / MID players in the FWD line. but buddy is a good choice, cheap and only in 20% of teams

      randomcliche · 19/05/2015 at 22:44

Ashley J · 18/05/2015 at 15:52

Is Ibbotson to Tom Mcdonald or another back premo a good trade?

    Ethan · 18/05/2015 at 20:31

flip a coin. you cant deny mcdonald's form, however those with him will be hoping he continoue's this way.

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:53

    hold ibboptson

      Ashley J · 19/05/2015 at 16:25

      What about Oxley then?

        SideBySidebottom · 19/05/2015 at 17:02

Oxley's a popular rookie to cash out this week. I'm holding him longer due to his scoring ability.

        Wheels1987 · 20/05/2015 at 08:09

        hold all defenders
theres no urgency there and even though ox has a high BE he can reach it this week. hes as good as any other DEF

    MKS · 21/05/2015 at 20:51

I'm holding Ibbotson and Trading out the rookies first. Ibbotson has scoring ability, has been scoring well in the last couple rounds. Worth Holding.

I N Pieman · 18/05/2015 at 15:54

Certainly was a massive rectal examination Chicko. Copped a mauling from the gods on Saturday. So many pricks to trade but I can only get rid of 2. Vandencrap first head to be chopped.

    Chicko · 18/05/2015 at 18:31

Believe me Pie, I feel your pain! Vandy out the door for me, closely followed by Oxley.

    Skindog · 18/05/2015 at 18:55

Vandencrap(as you put it) is gone for me to Pieman as well as Hogan for two upgrades for I have $524,000 in chest,, now who's it gonna be????

Rob · 18/05/2015 at 16:02

Hey community!

I have 249K in the bank and I am looking to downgrade Oxley to a rookie. Can get any position Due to DPP Any suggestions?

I will have around 400k after that trade which will be used to get any Midfield player ( maybe Titch, Priddis, Heppell, Lewis etc.)

Next week might have 150k in the bank which will allow me to go Cripps to Pendels

    @KingWinter7 · 18/05/2015 at 16:35

Only rookie that we can look at this week is Lever. He's around 160k though which is a bit annoying

    Traderlyf · 18/05/2015 at 17:21

levers really the only player on the bubble, also glenn if he is named but his JS isnt the best

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:54

    hold oxley if you can.

    i went

    Hogan and Vandenberg OUT
    Rockliff and K.Jack IN

$20 k left in the warchest.

    Rocky speaks for himself

Kieran Jack on the other hand has bottomed out in price and is a huge POD.

    thoughts community???

      Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 16:46

      I like it.
      Went Vandenberg to Rockcliff myself.
I wonder if K Jack can get it done this year..?

        Wheels1987 · 20/05/2015 at 08:08

        im hoping he can
dnot think hannebry will keep it up and JPK is up and down

Liam · 18/05/2015 at 16:04

Vandenberg to Rocky or Selwood??

    @KingWinter7 · 18/05/2015 at 16:32

Selwood. Still not sold on Rocky

    Tyler · 18/05/2015 at 18:05

Rocky is better value. Think about it
Start of the season Rocky was at 720k while selwood was at around 620k. Now Rocky is UNDER 500k while selwood is at 530k. Rocky for me

      BKW · 18/05/2015 at 21:42

Rocky this week, Selwood next week

        Jacko1998 · 20/05/2015 at 10:30

im going watson up from vandenberg next week.

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:55

Get Selwood next week as he has a BE of 125

Trab Pukcip · 18/05/2015 at 16:06

Has anyone given any thought to Bryce Gibbs? I know it might be mad to even contemplate looking at carlton players but he has been known to bang out a big score and is currently $125K under his starting price tag! Risky pick but is better than a $445k player that's for sure!

    @KingWinter7 · 18/05/2015 at 16:33

Playing for a shocking team and very inconsistent. Surely you'd go to Rocky over him

      Trab Pukcip · 18/05/2015 at 16:51

Naturally but thinking of those that have a heap of injuries that may be looking at 2 trades! Will be pretty easy to make 2 trades this week and wont cost much $$ Could go Brodie Smith and Griffen to Rocky and Gibbs for the price of a few bag of skittles!

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:55

i was going to get him this week

    I have gone with
    Hogan and Vandenberg OUT
    Rockliff and K.Jack IN

$20 k left in the warchest.

    Rocky speaks for himself

Kieran Jack on the other hand has bottomed out in price and is a huge POD.

    thoughts community???

    Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 16:48

    Don't do it.
I have him in my SC Draft side..
He makes me sick.. he's been putrid this year by his standards/ ability. I keep offering trades to other teams but nobody will take him. Carlton are in trouble, doubt he can get the job done.

    randomcliche · 19/05/2015 at 22:48

Agreed that there could be value there. He did start to lay a few tackles this week. Will he avg 110 from now to seasons end??? I’ve gone rocky.

Liam · 18/05/2015 at 16:19

Thoughts on de goey community?
Not many rookie options.

    @KingWinter7 · 18/05/2015 at 16:33

    Too expensive. No for me

    Swans2012 · 18/05/2015 at 17:42

Great name, bad price! That's a no de goey!

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:56

    $202 k
    BE of 22

    = NO NO NO

Tom · 18/05/2015 at 16:30

Who needs to go first?

Oxley, N.Brown, V-Berg, Hogan?

only have 70k so what would you do?

    Tyler · 18/05/2015 at 18:07

vandenburg first, hogan second, brown next then oxley last

      SideBySidebottom · 18/05/2015 at 18:50

Yeah, agree. I don't actually want Oxley or Saad to go at this stage. Averaging over 80's almost enough for a D6 or even a D5.

    Sam Loy · 18/05/2015 at 18:47

If all of those players get their average next week, Vandenburg will lose the most, then Oxley, Brown, and Hogan would stay about even. Depends who you think is more capable of hitting their average given the opponents and their form.

    Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 16:50

    In My Opinion…
V-Berg, Hogan, N Brown, Oxley in that order.
I just wouldn't get rid of Oxley..? He has averaged over 80. I'd keep him for now as there's few defenders averaging better for an affordable price.

Tom · 18/05/2015 at 16:34

Thoughts on Burgoyne?

    Sam Loy · 18/05/2015 at 18:50

Had him since R1, and I picked him because of his durability (2014, 22 games; 2013, 20; 2012, 21; 2011, 21) and consistency. However, he has had a few shockers this year. I imagine the return of Lake will free up Gibson a bit, and this could affect Burgoyne's scoring.

    Emma · 18/05/2015 at 18:56

I have had him from day 1, but with Lewis and Hodge back week after his scoring will slow down. I don't think he will be top 8 defender.

MOC · 18/05/2015 at 16:46

Who would be worth getting out of Glenn (providing he gets up) or Lever?

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:57

crows have taken a DEF hit this week so Lever could have Job Security but Glenn is clearly a good player, but will struggle to hold his spot. i just want his bubble to burst at least so he makes a little coin

Liam · 18/05/2015 at 17:10

Need your thoughts on these trades community.
Oxley down to Lever
Salem to Tmich

    tom · 18/05/2015 at 17:55

    sounds good

    Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 16:51

I wouldn't trade Oxley out. He's averaging over 80 which is good for a defender, and had a few huge scores. Any other options in defence?
    Not sold on Lever either.
Missed a big price jump in TMitch.. but prob still worth it for one more week! Still obviously a risk there.

Francis · 18/05/2015 at 17:10

Titch, Buddy, Parker or Rockliff?

    Ethan · 18/05/2015 at 19:34

    Youngy_ · 19/05/2015 at 10:00

there all good options but I feel Selwood is a good option if you have him probably Parker

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:58

Tom · 18/05/2015 at 17:19

whats Levers Job security like?

    Brad · 18/05/2015 at 17:42

    Hopefully good!!

    jacob · 18/05/2015 at 17:48

Good but scoring potential is the issue especially with a slightly elevated price of 157k.

      SideBySidebottom · 18/05/2015 at 18:52

At D8 scoring shouldn't be too much of a problem too often one would hope.

        Emma · 18/05/2015 at 19:21

Yep I want him to generate some cash so hoping he can play at least 6 games but will be on my bench and cover during byes, He is only the real downgrade option this week

    Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 16:52

Decent. Scoring potential slight concern. Should still make you money. I'm tempted by him… slightly.

bob · 18/05/2015 at 17:21

is bryce gibbs a good pickup?

    SideBySidebottom · 18/05/2015 at 18:52

Not in any way, shape or form.

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:58

    he is cheap.

    Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 16:52

    No. Just don't do it.

Danners16 · 18/05/2015 at 17:26

Hey guys
Not really too sure on what to do this week, I thought Griffen got subbed out for no real reason, but he did his knee. Is it still worth giving him the axe and who to? Not really to sure on where to go this week on my team at the moment it looks like this (Lineup will change)
Def-T.McDonald, H.Shaw, L.Hodge, J.McGovern, B.Smith, A.Oxley (A.Saad, H.Schade)
Mid-N.Fyfe, S.Pendlebury, JPK, D.Heppell, D.Beams, R.Griffen, T.Miller, N.Krakouer (D.McKenzie, K.Lambert, J.Steele)
Ruck-T.Goldstein, I.Maric (M.Cox)
Fwd-R.Gray, D.Swan, M.Bontempelli, T.Adams, TBC, R.Tarrant (M.Clark, T.Lamb)
$50,000 in the bank

    sammy primos · 18/05/2015 at 19:01

    boomer harvey !!!!!!

    jezzahill · 19/05/2015 at 12:42

Rockliff looming large this week, and I reckon you must consider. Rest of your team looks solid enough

    Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 16:54

Wait and see what the deal is with Griff. I've got him too.
If he's gone long term I'd go for Rockcliff.
For me, I've gone Vandenberg to Rockcliff so I might even go Tom McD for Griff via MID/DEF swing if Griff is gone..

Brad · 18/05/2015 at 17:38

Thinking vandenberg to Glenn (pending selection) and lonie to Gray. Thoughts?

    sammys primo's · 18/05/2015 at 19:07

no job security for glenn his stuck on his bubble didnt get named last week for his third game very risky all those teams with him at the moment are trapped and wasted a trade risky dont go near him unless you can afford to wait and not have him play aswould have adequate bench cover hoping that eade may give him another gam next week or the next couple of weeks who knows?? for me it would be a no just to much risk and hope

      SideBySidebottom · 18/05/2015 at 20:16

Can I lend you a full stop Sammy?

      dognino · 18/05/2015 at 20:18

He didn't get named because he injured himself at training. Think it was an ankle. Should still be a decent downgrade option when named again.

Gareth · 18/05/2015 at 17:48

Is Stevie J about to explode without Duncan or well past his best?

    SideBySidebottom · 18/05/2015 at 18:57

Maybe spontaneously combust or melt down, not sure about exploding though.

Tom · 18/05/2015 at 18:00

upgrade Vandenberg to Defender via DPP around 500k or upgrade to rocky

if I upgrade to rocky I will have to field Oxley, McKenzie and Saad and have Lever as my only bench cover?

    SideBySidebottom · 18/05/2015 at 19:02

Happy trusting Oxley and Saad if the latter's playing. Loophole McKenzie and Lever.

Disclaimer: This advice cannot be relied upon if Oxley or Saad are not named or are late withdrawals.

Rob · 18/05/2015 at 18:14

Hey community!

Which Midfielder would you pick besides
Fyfe, selwood, Gray, D.Mckenzie, Kennedy, Shiel, Cripps, ( CEY, Krak, Blakely)

I am trading Vandenberg and not sure who to get

Any suggestions

    sammys primo's · 18/05/2015 at 18:54

rockcliff makes the most sense but risky, you might jump on the boomer harvey boat before he becomes out reach not many teams have him if your looking for pod . i brought in priddis last week now no ones gunna bring him in too expensive now he bottomed out last down to 541k week now his up to 591k and only5.9% of team have him.good luck pal im doing the same this vanderberg gone

    sammys primo's sc team name

    Emma · 18/05/2015 at 18:57

Heppell is underpriced for what he can produce if you don't want to go rocky.

    derek · 18/05/2015 at 19:55

Pendlebury would be my choice. But Sidebottom should be back this week. No-one has him.

Pies have got a dream run up to the byes.

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:59

    Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 16:54

    Rockcliff is a cheap alternative.

      Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 16:55

Having said that, I heard rumbles Pendles pulled up sore against the Tigers on Sunday..

        SideBySidebottom · 19/05/2015 at 17:33

Looked fine on the track and he's got his 200th this weekend.

    Hungry Hawk · 18/05/2015 at 19:20

Tom · 18/05/2015 at 18:33

Burgoyne or Rance?

    sammmy priomos · 18/05/2015 at 18:59

tough choice do you a go proven sc scorer or do you hope alex rance has a break out yea for me it would be rance as rances best sc yea last ait far off burgones best but risky as rance may not keep scoring like this

Dools · 18/05/2015 at 18:42

G'day Chicko and Community,

Thoughts on Salem and Vandenberg to Goddard down back and Lewis?

    randomcliche · 19/05/2015 at 23:00

    Lewis should be well rested.

Is mcintosh to lever a good trade?

    Tyler · 18/05/2015 at 19:06

Yeah if you have enough trades and no other problems. Tell ya what you're lucky if that is your biggest problem

      derek · 18/05/2015 at 19:50

Lever should get a few more games with the Crows defence problems.

I personally am going to keep McIntosh and sell Oxley. ox has topped out in price where McIntosh has some yet to gain

      Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 16:56

      Completely agree.

        randomcliche · 19/05/2015 at 23:02

Keeping Richmond pigs for culling rnd 11.

@KingWinter7 · 18/05/2015 at 18:58

My Supercoach team so far:

15 Keepers (Shaw, Smith, Simpson. Fyfe, Pendles, JPK, Lewis, Selwood. Goldstein, Maric. Gray, Bont, Swanny, Dusty, Goddard)
2 Mids/Maybe Keepers (Newnes. Griffen)
5 On-field Rookies (Saad, Lever. Krak. Tarrant, Clark)
8 Bench Rookies (McIntosh, Brown. McKenzie, Glenn, Anderson. Read. Hogan, Lambert)

Thoughts on the structure at this time in the year?

    Tyler · 18/05/2015 at 19:07

    Solid, keep it up

    derek · 18/05/2015 at 19:48

pretty solid team, rucks very good.

not much to help with except to keep painting the fence, one up and one down until the byes. Hopefully the rookies will appear soon.

    roger rufosski · 18/05/2015 at 22:18

Nice team- how many trades left? Surely youve used more than 7?

    randomcliche · 19/05/2015 at 23:08

I’m 4 onfield rookies after trades this week. Assumes Newnes Griffen J.Steven and T.Mitchell are keepers. Been bang banging…long way back I am. Seems pretty solid Keep up the good work.

TOM · 18/05/2015 at 19:00

Hi Community would love some advice on what trades I should be doing this week. First time commenting so hoping to get some help. This is my team:

Shaw, Simpson, Gibson, Newnes, Oxley, Saad, McIntosh, McKenzie
Fyfe, JPK, Selwood, Beams, Parker, Cripps, Vandenberg, CEY, Krak, Steele, Miller
Goldstein, Maric, Read
Gray, Swan, Martin, Tarrent, Clark, Salem, Hogan, Lonie

$127,800 in the bank. Few injuries, but not sure which players to trade out and for which players to trade in

Feedback is much appreciated.

    Tyler · 18/05/2015 at 19:14

    Salem and vandenberg out
Then just depends who you want to bring in, you should probably paint the fence and go one up and one down. I would swing mckenzie into the mids (Gives you the mid/def swing), trade lever in, then swing krak (or any fwd/mid swing) into the fwd line and bring in another player like Rocky, Parker, Titch

      derek · 18/05/2015 at 19:34

      I'd agree with Tyler,

Vandenberg to Lever via McKenzie. Gives you cash generation plus a good MID/DEF swing.

salem to parker or Rocky via Krak. Gets you a premium and a MID/FWD swing.

        randomcliche · 19/05/2015 at 23:12

    Wattsieesq · 18/05/2015 at 19:20

Pretty decent team Tom. I have a similar team to you and am upgrading Vandenburg. I think he's peaked in price. I've got enough to bring JPK in, so I'm doing that. With my second trade, I'll wait and see who's named. I'll either downgrade Oxley to Lever or Heeney to Glen depending on selections. Looking at your rookies, I'd be either getting rid of either Salem, Hogan, Lonie. Hogan is coming back, so you could hold as he'll probably come close to his BE. The other two, can be culled for cash, bringing in either Lever or Glen using your swing sets. Hope that helps. Cheers

    TOM · 18/05/2015 at 19:41

Thanks guys! What are your thoughts on Jordan Lewis, Heppell, Priddis and Treloar as a couple of possible midfilders to bring in?

      randomcliche · 19/05/2015 at 23:13

I think Trelor is the most awesome of PODs thus week. Though I’m going Rocky.

Nicholas · 18/05/2015 at 19:14

Hey Community I have a dilemma this week with only scoring a 2,101 last week and I currently have 21 trades.
Here is my team, not sure what to do this week.
Back- Shaw, Taylor, Oxley, Ibbotson, McIntosh, McKenzie (Lever, Hamling)
Mid- Fyfe, Priddis, Selwood, Griffen, Lewis, Miller, Cripps, Krakouer (Vandenberg, Saad, Ellis-Yolmen)
Ruck- Goldstein, Naitanui ( Read)
Forward- Swan, Goddard, Gray, Martin, Franklin, Tarrant ( Hogan, Clark)
I am currently ranked 8,879 and would really appreciate any advice what to do this week.
Was thinking of Rocky or Parker this week but I only have a lousy $150,300 in the bank.
Thanks for your help.

    derek · 18/05/2015 at 19:37

I really like your forward line. Who is going to be your F6?

You should have the cash to go Vandenberg to Rocky.

      Nicholas · 18/05/2015 at 19:44

im lacking on players in round 11 bye and have a tonne in 13 so rocky is good for me. Would I also make another trade like a downgrade to a rookie? my f6 is still undecied maybe deledio if he comes good

        derek · 18/05/2015 at 19:59

no-one to downgrade to. Save the trade.

          Nicholas · 18/05/2015 at 20:36

what bout oxley he is gonna drop and pearce is on the bubble

      Nicholas · 18/05/2015 at 19:48

also is rocky or mitchell more of a priority right now. Was looking at maybe pearce as a rookie not sure about js tho.

        BundyBear · 19/05/2015 at 02:18

Rumour has it that oxley will score 150 this week

Adzy · 18/05/2015 at 19:23

Whats you thought on this guys.

Oxley – Lever or Alex pearce
Vandenberg – rocky
with 230k ish in the bank for another premo next week

    Adzy · 18/05/2015 at 19:26

def – shaw, newnes, hibbo, saad, kmac, kelly (Brown, OX)
mid – fyfe, pendles, priddis, beams, danger, parker, cripps, miller (Vanders, cey, mckenzie)
    ruck – goldy , bellchambers
fwd – swan, gray, martin, bont, mitchell, tarrant (krak, salem)

      derek · 18/05/2015 at 19:41

Think about upgrading TBC before Rocky. the premium rucks all had good games on the weekend and are all about to get more expensive, where TBC is going nowhere and costing you points.

Your rookie mids will score better than TBC and their price increase will match or better Rocky, so you can do that trade next week.

Jaydos · 18/05/2015 at 19:33

Thoughts on Thurlow and is his role going to produce consistant scores?

    Dann · 18/05/2015 at 20:02

15 game player so HUGE risk but he's comfortably in the best 22, has elite efficiency & has had a 2 season apprentership in the VFL, don't see why he won't avergae 90+ He's a gun

    Cozza · 19/05/2015 at 15:31

The big unknown is what will happen to his role when Mackie comes back into the team. They've been using Thurlow to distribute from the backline, but the cats love using Mackie for that as well. I can see Mackie taking some of Thurlows points unless Thurlow plays more MID time now with Duncan out. A lot of unknowns with Thurlow – enough to question whether he would be a top 8 defender from here on.

Jim · 18/05/2015 at 19:35

Which premo mid should I get for 605,000? Was thinking Lewis or Priddis. Already have Selwood, Fyfe, JPK, Parker, Beams

    derek · 18/05/2015 at 19:57

Sidebottom, big POD. Pies have some easy games.

      Jim · 18/05/2015 at 20:00

      isn't he injured?

        derek · 18/05/2015 at 21:18

will be back this week I think

          SideBySidebottom · 18/05/2015 at 23:30

          He's $608,200.

      General Soreness · 19/05/2015 at 10:05

Round 12 to go with Parker, JPK, Fyfe

    Ethan · 18/05/2015 at 20:33

i think you missed the priddis boat, even though you have cash it would be wiser to find another fallen premium

    Youngy_ · 19/05/2015 at 10:03

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:00

wait for Sidebottom to play his 2nd game and have a look then
    otherwise Rocky

@t_woof · 18/05/2015 at 19:37

Voted for Other – looking long and hard at Treloar 490K.

    Ethan · 18/05/2015 at 20:32

has to compete with shiel, griffin, ward and maybe coniglio. someone will suffer points wise

      @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 01:40

      Valid point Ethan.

      80-90K drop from starting price.
Take away the 40 odd score v WCE, when they were smashed he's averaging 113.

I've been crucified with injuries and suspensions, so searching long and hard for value.

        Jambo · 19/05/2015 at 18:12

Treloar averages mainly between 90-100 most weeks. I find that if he dominates for two weeks, then he has two poor weeks. Be wary.

    Rocksta · 19/05/2015 at 00:21

At $490K, I think just too good to ignore.

I went Vandy to Rocky, and Ox to Trealor ( by subbing DMak into the backline).
Still leaves me with around $150K to hopefully get me from Cripps to Pendles next week.
    I’m stoked with my trades.

      @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 01:35

Very nice trades Rocksta, really like both the in's and outs there!! Then Cripps > Pendles the following week the cherry on top!!

I'm looking at VandenBerg > Treloar.

Then, couple thousand short for Oxley > T.Mitchell via H.Goddard swing from fwd to def. So looking at Ibbotson > T.Mitchell instead. Oxley has averaged more over the past three weeks, so think i'll hold him and offload Ibbo who's done his job.

throttlefinger · 18/05/2015 at 19:42

Powerful prayer, Chicko. Fyfe has been saved.

Given the potency of your invocation, I will be saying a version of this before every round. Hope its miracle effects can stop the massive smiting my team takes each week.

Tom · 18/05/2015 at 19:50

Hey Community,

Just need an insight into who to take out of Parker and JPK?

All thoughts appreciated!

    Ethan · 18/05/2015 at 20:32

parker coming off 2 100's and cheaper

    Swans2012 · 18/05/2015 at 20:37

Parker for potential, jpk for proven output, swans midfield is hard to pick, I think the value of Parker over Kennedy but only due to the $$$ savings. If they were the same price it’d be jpk for mine. Parker was bloody majestic though on Saturday. If I had to pick a swan midfielder, I reckon it’s hanneberry’s year, He’s the only swan mid I’m considering and I don’t normally like taking any of them, despite being a supporter. (I do have titch as well but he doesn’t count as was too cheap to refuse and is a gws)

      Swans2012 · 18/05/2015 at 20:38

Alex Pearce from Freo. Im at the stage where its him or Lever. Slightly cheaper price tag. What do we think of his JS?

    Ethan · 18/05/2015 at 20:31

    Cozza · 19/05/2015 at 15:28

He is the likely exclusion when McPharlin comes back, which is this week apparently. Even if named this week his JS will be questionable

    Jambo · 19/05/2015 at 18:13

Very low. He'll come on the chopping block with McPharlin coming into the team.

Liam · 18/05/2015 at 20:20

Thoughts on getting Tich this week or too late?

    sc newby · 18/05/2015 at 21:00

    Sounds good

    Rob · 18/05/2015 at 21:01

tich should be a top 10 forward – considering hogan to tich myself

    @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 01:48

Liam, I'm going to trade him in.

Wanted to see one more good score. Cost an extra 50-60K but happy to pay that premium with an extra weeks worth of data at hand.

    Youngy_ · 19/05/2015 at 10:19

I feel it's to late to get him in. my be get Buddy in instead?

    Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 16:57

    Not too late yet.

Aaron Harvey · 18/05/2015 at 20:31

Is hibbeard a top 10 defender also who is the best premo defender to bring in?

    Jonesy · 18/05/2015 at 20:35

    Tmac is looking the Goods

    Tyler · 18/05/2015 at 20:58

I reckon if hibbo gets in the top 10, he will be #10. Good chance of him being there end of year but if you are looking at bringing him in, don't

      Tyler · 18/05/2015 at 21:11

Woops I was thinking of Hooker, Nah mate hibberd should find some form eventually and he will get better, but not a top 10 mate

      @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 01:46

Have to remember lads, it doesn't matter or not whether he finishes in the Top 10 defenders…..all that matters is the points that Hibberd would accumulate between the time you trade him in and season's end.

He may finish, say the 12th top scoring defender for the season. But could be number 3 or 4 for Rounds 8-23.

Must remember it's not always what the player has scored so far for the season, or their current rank….it's what they can score for your team for the remainder of the season.

In regards to Hibberd, i have no doubt he has the ability to be a Top 10 defender for Rounds 8 to 23. But appears out of form.
Personally i'd like to see two good scores in a row from him before i'd jump on board. Happy to pay that little bit extra to see a fortnight worth of good form.

He has been very disappointing. Was in most of my pre season squads. Fortunately missed the final cut. Watching him closely now.

        Swans2012 · 19/05/2015 at 08:41

+1 twoof, just glad I got spooked by the Asada thing and didn’t put him in. Two good scores now though and I’m all over him

          r2d2 · 19/05/2015 at 13:48

Couple good scores and I will swoop on hibberd ,,, and likewise Brodie smith

            @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 16:48

Agree lads. Back to back 90+ from Michael, and it' swoop time!

Supercoach Diva · 18/05/2015 at 20:37

Hi Community this is my first time posting, im really not sure as to what to do.
I have enough money and want to upgrade either Oxley or Ibbotson, who should I out of these two?
Also, I was thinking an upgrade to Tmac, already have Heath Shaw and Rob Murphy, who could be another suggestion?

Any help is appreciated greatly thanks guys 🙂

    derek · 18/05/2015 at 21:29

hi Diva, Both Oxley and Ibbotson will eventually need to be upgraded, so it doesn't matter which one first. they are similar price at the moment. it comes down to a few things. The byes don't matter as they both have a round 12 bye. Collingwood have an easy next 4 games Suns, North, Melb & GWS. Freo games are fairly good as well North, Crows, Richmond, Suns. JS is both good.

    Almost toss a coin.

I have both and will be keeping Ibbotson longer than Oxley. I think Oxley has overachieved and could easily have a few stinkers.

    @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 01:52

    Hey SC Diva!

derek has hit the nail on the head, agree with him…it's a toss of the coin.

I have both, and looking at the same decision…which one to trade out.

For me i'm trading out Ibbo, as trading Oxley would leave me a couple thousand short to make the trades i want. The decision simply made to accommodate my trades. Hope this somehow helps.

      Supercoach Diva · 19/05/2015 at 07:44

      Thanks guys it sure does,
Just wondering if you are getting in Tmac?

        @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 16:55

        Tmac, not at the moment.

I'm still rolling with a makeshift defence of: Hodge, Higgins, Newnes, Ibbotson, Oxley, Saad, McIntosh, Lever.

As jezzahill has mentioned below, agree Tmac has peaked in price. Better value for money elsewhere.

Trading out Ibbotson, i plan to swing H.Goddard from Fwd to Def and trade in T.Mitchell and cover Saad with McKenzie DPP. Defence not my highest priority right now. Will be during the byes.

    jezzahill · 19/05/2015 at 12:51

Oxley has to go first, has overachieved and that 148 is still in his price calculation. Now that score will go out of his rolling average this week he will lose value. BE is 95 and realistically I don't think he'll get that. If you're looking for something a bit left field, I would consider Elliot Yeo. Has played lots in the midfield recently and is looking good. TMac is obviously a good selection, but I think he's peaked in price and if you get him now you're locking in a loss to those who already have him.

Tom · 18/05/2015 at 20:46

reports saying that griffen could miss upto 2 weeks

if so, do we hold or finally trade?

    derek · 18/05/2015 at 21:22

I just saw that he will need a test this week, scans showed there was no tears, just a strain. they might rest him for one. two seems to much for a strain.

    Youngy_ · 19/05/2015 at 10:22

For me if he is out for 1 I hold, via he is out for 2 I trade.

But it will be hard because I feel that we might not know if he is out for one or to

    Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 16:58

Hah.. ffs… 2 weeks?! That awkward time frame..
I've been dying for an excuse to cull him, but I'll just hold if that's the verdict.

Tom · 18/05/2015 at 20:49

Hey community!

I can get Any midfielder because i have 790k after trading Vanderberg.

Option 1:

Vandenberg out and a decent midfielder which I am unsure about( this is my current mid Fyfe, selwood, Gray, D.Mckenzie, Kennedy, Shiel, Cripps, CEY, Krak, Blakely)

After I get a premo it will allow me to get Pendels in and get Cripps out

Option 2:

I get Titch for Vandenberg

This will leave me 330K for next and could let me go Hogan and Cripps up to Premos

    Liam · 18/05/2015 at 21:08

Vandenberg to Rocky and Hogan for Titch.
Then you can get Pendles for Cripps next week.

      Swans2012 · 18/05/2015 at 21:12

Don’t spend big just cause you can, Rocky is the solution

        BundyBear · 19/05/2015 at 02:14

Rocky isnt the Rocky he was last year. Dont know why its so important to have him. other players playing way better then him. Just as a midpricer has to prove his worth i feel that rocky has to as well

          Swans2012 · 19/05/2015 at 06:13

You ever broken a rib? Surprised he even played last couple, that’s the difference, add a concussion as well, rocky WILL come good. (But I will eat my words and trade him out QuickSmart if he doesn’t). Rocky is priced as a mid pricer, but he isn’t he is a proven ULTRA premo, you wait till he proves himself, I won’t be. (Then again if I was always right id be ranked 1 not 1400)

Shane · 18/05/2015 at 20:54

Vandenberg and the ox to go this week.

Lever and Treloar in.

$266k in the war chest to upgrade Cripps/Griffen to Fyfey the following week.

    @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 01:53

    Like those trades Shane!

Liam · 18/05/2015 at 20:54

My team:
DEF: shaw, simpson, higgins, newnes, saad, mcintosh (goodes, hamling)
MID: Fyfe, pendles, gray, griffen, swallow, vandenberg, miller, ellis yolmen, (krak, mckenzie, heeney)
RUC: Maric, Nic nat (cox)
FWD: Swanny, dusty, goddard, wingard, clark, tarrant (hogan, TBC)

I have 226k in the chest and 20 trades left.

I really need some help on what trades to do.

I was thinking either:
1. Vandenberg to Selwood
2. Vandenberg to Rockliff and Kmac down to lever.
3. Hogan to Rockliff or Selwood via gray dpp.

Would love to know your thoughts on what trades I should do

    Tyler · 18/05/2015 at 21:14

2, although you don't have to trade kmac for lever if you want to save some trades and wait for a better downgrade option

Swans2012 · 18/05/2015 at 20:57

Gotta say I am amazed at the doubts everyone seems to have on rocky, comments such as hasn’t hit 100 yet this year, want to see him produce something, might average 105 from here. Here’s something, have a look at his scoring last year this is round 11-22

And just so you don’t think I’m hiding something, averaged around 113 from his first 8 games. This was in a side that was getting flogged so NOTHING has changed except those banged up ribs and melon both of which should now be better. I was going to get tricky dicky with it and leave him till next week so I could fluff around with my rucks and ruin my structure, but no the obvious path is sometimes the right one. At 450k keep it simple and lock in the biggest Lockety lock since locks locked the lock.

That is all

    derek · 18/05/2015 at 21:21

the guy is playing with a couple of cracked ribs, a punctured lung and a giant headache, he's doing ok and will only get better.

Now they have won a couple of games, get on him.

      Paul Walnuts · 18/05/2015 at 21:35

Agree, coaches have said Rocky n Teen Wolf are untaggable, get on now, next week get on J.Sellwood as the the next fallen premo at a bargain price

      Swans2012 · 18/05/2015 at 21:39

I reckon those ribs will be just sore enough to make him angry now, an angry rock lobster, I’m expecting 130+ this week….

        Derek · 18/05/2015 at 23:23

I want to get Rocky this week, but I need to get rid of TBC as well. Decisions!

          Swans2012 · 18/05/2015 at 23:29

I’ve decided he’s my season long r3 f8 cover letting me use current r3 read as forward loophole. This unfortunately means keeping him at r2 for another week or 2.

        craig · 18/05/2015 at 23:56

Have to go back to this Swans…. "keep it simple and lock in the biggest Lockety lock since locks locked the lock." Funny sh*t mate.

          Swans2012 · 19/05/2015 at 06:14

Thanks mate, some of my finest. Seriously though, he really is a lock!

            derek · 19/05/2015 at 12:17

I can justify the price difference in getting Rocky this week and keeping TBC. The increase in sauce's price maybe less than what Rocky goes up, and therefore I can get rid of TBC next week without a net cost to me. But it is the difference in having TBC & Rocky's points score, compared to Jacobs & Cripps

              Swans2012 · 19/05/2015 at 14:39

It’s more complicated than that for me, I’m keeping bell as an r3, so to trade out vandy to sauce I end up with too many forward dpp’s in the midfield and have to play Tarrant and Clark down forward on field and yolmen or cripps stuck on bench, whereas if I go rocky I get Rocky’s score, loophole one of Clark and Tarrant, loophole one of yolmen(if playing) and cripps. Just messes up my structures too much. If it was a straight trade out of bell I’d be doing your trade I think. Does that make any sense? I think I’ve even confused myself but it makes sense when I look at it on the field.

                Swans2012 · 19/05/2015 at 14:44

So basically in my case it becomes Clark Tarrant and sauce vs rocky, one of Clark and Tarrant loopholes, one of cripps and yolmen loopholed. All this for what might only be a few points but anyway makes sense to me…..

    Girdle · 19/05/2015 at 06:52

I heard similar arguments for Ablett before the season as well……fact is, he's playing injured. By his own admission, mind you (post-match interview). Of course I want him in my side, but with BE of 79, it can still wait another week. Worst case scenario, he hits 120 and I gotta pay a little more next week.

      Swans2012 · 19/05/2015 at 14:47

Nearly right except ablett actually was injured and running around with one ape like dangly arm, Rocky had rooted ribs, which are NOT a career or season threatening injury and would be dam close to cherry ripe now. But Yeo no real harm in waiting a week. Unless he comes out with a 170

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:03

    Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 16:59

I feel I have no choice but to get him this week.

Vandy to Rocky is locked in for me this week, but Im wanting to get Lever in. Who to drop out of Lumumba, Oxley or KMac?

    Swans2012 · 18/05/2015 at 21:51

If the dreams alive and your playing for overall k Mac is the one, least potential for on field scoring, if the dream is no longer alive oxley is probably at his peak but will provide better scores than the others. And Harry O Harry I just don’t know, it hurts my brain just to think about him.

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 18/05/2015 at 22:25

Vanders to rocky a given this week.

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:04

    Hold all 3
not sure what your DEF line looks like, but i would wait for Kmac to max out then downgrade him. Prince and Ox have good Job Sec and have good output

Just because Ox is a rookie, he is scoring as good as most DEF players

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 18/05/2015 at 22:32

I’d hold the ox sure he had an off week this week but going at over 80 and besides the top couple of def no one really doing much better def is so on and offthis year and pies have an easy draw to the byes not gonna loose much money but probably at his top price unless he comes out and smashes it this week

    BundyBear · 18/05/2015 at 23:05

Girdle · 19/05/2015 at 06:45

Everyone jumping on Yeo. Not a word about Jackson Thurlow? Three 100s on the trot and bound to get more midfield time with Duncan out. $406k with BE of 20. Can he keep it up? We asked the same question about Tom McDonald four weeks ago.

    Swans2012 · 19/05/2015 at 07:10

Hadn’t thought about him, but yeah he looks good, has he been running through the middle? Don’t have the space for a defensive upgrade this week but have added him to my watch list, projected to go up 30k to 430 if he scores 90 odd this week so might be worth holding a week to see how he goes without Duncan in the side, I’m happy to pay 430 for a bit more certainty about his role

I want to see Rocky pump out a 100+ before I jump on. I know it means I’ll pay more for him, but there’s just a few doubts for mine.

            derek · 19/05/2015 at 12:09

he has a BE of about 80 this week.

Can anyone tell me what his price will increase to if he has 100SC this week, and what his new BE will be for next week?

          General Soreness · 19/05/2015 at 12:35

Straight on mate. Cannot ignore that sort of value.

Tom · 19/05/2015 at 10:25

if Griffen isnt named this week should we trade?

I think he's too much of an underperformer to be taking donuts from.

    derek · 19/05/2015 at 10:28

if he doesn't play, he won't lose any value 🙂

      derek · 19/05/2015 at 12:10

I'm expecting him to miss this week but be back the following week.

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:05

    Hold if you can.

Bye rounds coming up need to save trades

      derek · 19/05/2015 at 13:53

if I didn't have him in my team (I had Wines most pre-season and jumped on griffin in the last days), I would be looking at griffin as a "fallen premium" and thinking seriously about getting him in. I'm holding, at least until round 13 bye.

        Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:56

he has a BE of 115, so i agree, he is a fallen premo, but i would wait for one more game from him.

    Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 17:01

Got him too. Sadly.. if it's just a couple weeks You've got to hold until at least the byes..

Bucky · 19/05/2015 at 10:35

Looking at Vandenberg to Rockliff and Lumumba to Yeo this week. Was considering Oxley to Yeo, but have finally lost faith in Lumumba.

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:05

dont loose faith in the prince

Chuck · 19/05/2015 at 11:48

Anyone know how Cripps' ankle is? even if he does come back has a BE of 68 surely not too much cash left to generate for him with a few tough games coming up before the bye… Possibly a straight swap of Cripps > Rocky ?

    derek · 19/05/2015 at 12:04

All reports are he is ready to play this week.

Cripps has been doing ok. He hasn't had a massive high number of disposals but scores well in supercoach because of his contested ball and tackles. He plays a lot of time in the guts for Carlton. he is near his top though and i'll be getting him out before the byes.

      Chuck · 19/05/2015 at 13:51

      Cheers Derek!

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 19/05/2015 at 21:36

The guys going at 100 and is the only one having a go at the blues. I’ll take that from a m8 at the moment.

        howie feltersnatch · 21/05/2015 at 20:00

Take out the outlier of 172. Stick a fork in him he is cooked

    Tofor · 19/05/2015 at 17:02

Try hold til the bye if you can!

NateCrows · 19/05/2015 at 11:48

Lovely work Chicko!

Thoughts on holding Sloane and B smith? I don't see the point in taking a loss if i can cover them.

Smith brought in then starts turding it up but had a lot of good scores out of sloane.

Theres no point trading smith at $365k and Sloane at $513k. I have been aggressive in trading so far and trying to upgrade only rookies or mid pricers this hurts my strategy to sideways both and take a hit. Or is there?

Option 1:
Bringing in Priddis for VDB and down grading oxley to lever. $135k

Option2: Yeo for VDB (dpp swing to backs next round) and oxley to Lever $285k

other option is i reckon Harrison wigg will be brought in this week for matty Jaensch. JS looks ok with him out but might see J pod back in or Reilly OB

    derek · 19/05/2015 at 12:07

I don't have either, but I would have traded Sloane as soon as I knew he was going to be out for 4+ weeks. Put it down as a correctional trade.

Smith I would hold. I'm looking at getting him in round 12 after his bye.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 19/05/2015 at 21:41

Went sloane to priddus last week and yep can nearly go dmac to Smith with about a $20k change over come the byes. Tasty.

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:06

If you can hold them guys and not loose too much output then thats awesome and hold. i traded out ablett for sloan and now i have traded sloan out last week for Titch. 2 trades on sloan hurts

    SideBySidebottom · 19/05/2015 at 14:45

Not worth trading Smith at that price but Sloans'e BE is 168 so he may drop a little in price when he returns. This could justify Sloane to Rocky and then upgrade back to Sloane after his return for a possible discount.

NateCrows · 19/05/2015 at 12:17

reckon Sloane will be back earlier

    @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 16:59

Hope so Nate, as still holding onto him.

AMERICANMAGPIE1 · 19/05/2015 at 12:21

What's the community think of Yeo?? Is he worth trading in?

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:06

    not a proven SC premo

      AMERICANMAGPIE1 · 19/05/2015 at 13:23

      Ok Thanks!

        Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:28

ive had a good look at Yeo just then and i still feel a strong NO
low BE, good last 3 weeks
I really feel like Yeo is a Rookie Supercoach trap

i say hold until after bye rounds. we will see his avg come back to more 70-80 regoin then snap him up cheap if hes still fit

    Jacob · 19/05/2015 at 19:44

Im taking the risk on Yeo. Yes it is a bit of a risk, but he is definately going to be playing far more midfield and foward. This guy really knows how to play and is finally getting the opportunity to show it.

papa · 19/05/2015 at 12:33

Franklin or McDonald
Jacobs or Mummy or Mullet Maric

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:07

    Franklin and Mummy

      Derek · 19/05/2015 at 13:31

I can’t split Mummy, Maric or Sauce.

They all tick the boxes for a lone wolf ruckman. Play for good teams with good draws.

      All about same price.

My gut says Jacobs only because he is less injury prone

        Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:38

Actually i am leaning with you

        Get Jacobs

He is 10K cheaper and lower BE than mummy

        brook · 19/05/2015 at 13:41

i have the same dilemma and am also leaning toward sauce due to previous durability. his three sub 80 scores are a concern though, as mummy only has one. both are slightly ahead of maric imo. must admit i am tempted to go for mummy, but only as i have tbc as backup. overall, jacobs is safest option

    SideBySidebottom · 19/05/2015 at 14:55

Sorry to round this out to all three ruckmen but I'm a Maric fan. He gives effort, almost always. He usually starts his season slowly and builds and that's exactly what he's done again this year. After he started with 82 , 90 and 86 he was very unpopular but since then 124, 78, 123 and 139 have improved his esteem.

Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 12:41

I have gone with
Hogan and Vandenberg OUT
Rockliff and K.Jack IN

$20 k left in the warchest.

Rocky speaks for himself

Kieran Jack on the other hand has bottomed out in price and is a huge POD.

thoughts community???

    NateCrows · 19/05/2015 at 13:21

I was going to bring in Parker but have opted against because i have JPK and titch.
I also have a lot of 12rnd byes hence why i brought in Priddis so far.

Jack is a good in depending on your mid structure

      Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:24

JACK fits in great with my team re: byes and the only other swan i have is Titch in the FWD line

        Billy · 19/05/2015 at 20:14

Don't like the jack pick. Will struggle to be top 20 mid let alone top 8, meaning he will waste another trade down the track

Antonio · 19/05/2015 at 13:23

If Lonie is named surely now’s the time to get rid of him especially with that 3 he got last week. Am I right community?

    Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:33

    If you can

It will take another 2 weeks to get that 3 out of his calculations, however if he keeps playing then post byes he will start generating $$$ again.

If you have heaps of trades ( more than 22 ) then trade.

If you have less than 22, then consider holding. short term $$$ lost wont hurt

      Antonio · 19/05/2015 at 13:44

Thanks heaps. I’m a little bit baffled on what to do next. What do you think?

DEF: Shaw, Higgins, Oxley, Newnes, Lumumbu, Saad (McIntosh, McKenzie)

MID: Fyfe, Pendlebury, Priddis, Dangerfield, Griffen, Miller, Cripps, Ellis-Yolmen (Vandenburg, Krakouer, Heeney)

      RUCKS: Goldstein, Mumford (Read)

FOR: Swan, Goddard, Gray, Walker, Tarrant, Clark (TBC, Lonie)

I have 22 trades and $91,800 in the war chest. I’m a little stumped on what area to focus on next.

        Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:48

for this week you could trade higgins into your FWD line, and downgrade Lonie to Lever.
Then next week or whenevr suits, you could swap Higgins back to DEF and upgrade a rookie DEF into a premo FWD

          Antonio · 19/05/2015 at 13:59

I’ve got nobody to swing Higgins with.

            Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 14:06

            One option could be

            Click trade on Lonie

then subsitute Higgins into the FWD line

you can then trade Lonie for Lever

        Wheels1987 · 19/05/2015 at 13:48

Or. Trade out Heeney for Lever and bring Saad or McKenzie into your MID line

          Antonio · 19/05/2015 at 14:00

          Isn’t Lever defence?

            Rick Grimes · 19/05/2015 at 14:33

They are talking about doing a positional swing. What you will see when you go to trade a player is a 'S' on any players in another position who has dual eligibility, and you can swing that player into another position whilst trading. So for example, you click on Lonie to trade, you can then bring Higgins into your forward line by clicking the S, and trade a defender in to replace Higgins. It's very handy. Just have a play around, look out for the S and you'll see what it's all about.

              Antonio · 19/05/2015 at 14:43

Oh sweet. It worked. I didn’t even know you could do that. I haven’t played SuperCoach for long. Cheers boys!

                SideBySidebottom · 19/05/2015 at 14:59

That's the value of this site Antonio.

derek · 19/05/2015 at 13:55

Ollie Wines will be named to play this week.

brook · 19/05/2015 at 13:56

currently have 5 keeper fwds (gray, dusty, swan, dalhaus, bont). saving last spot for proven premo during the byes, eg. goddard, buddy.

but tmitchell’s form is hard to ignore … thinking my only option is trading out bont (they are like for like) and, given that i got him at his starting price, i am effectively avoiding mtichell’s price rise but will be using a trade.

is this chasing the car or is mitchell worth it? i suppose that is the question ..,

    Swans2012 · 19/05/2015 at 14:49

Chasing the car, similar output between the two I think, keep bont, worst case he can become f7m9 cover….

    SideBySidebottom · 19/05/2015 at 15:08

I think the only knock on Mitchell is his job security whereas Bontompelli looks solid baring injury. The trade could put you in a worse position but could be really worthwhile.

      brook · 19/05/2015 at 15:25

will prob focus elsewhere this week but its one of those now or never moments. thanks for the advice

    @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 17:03

    Hey brook,

Don't trade out the Bont. Also, have you thought about trading Tom Mitchell into your midfield?

Due to injuries i currently have Robbie Gray in my midfield. I'm planning on keeping him in there for as long as possible. It's providing my team with added flexibility.

      brook · 19/05/2015 at 19:08

did think about it but that will effectively make him my 6th fwd … when i swing him down later in the season. can totally see how it is working with gray tho. think i will hold and back bont to outscore tmitch … not super confident tho

Jono · 19/05/2015 at 13:57

Who is a higher priority to bring in this week..Rockcliff or sauce Jacobs?

    derek · 19/05/2015 at 14:16

I have the exact same question.

I am going to trade TBC >>> Jacobs.

Main reason is that my rookie mids CEY/Cripps/Krak/Saad/Miller all have good cash still to make, where TBC won't. That is my only reason, your team might have different structure.

I'll be doing Cripps to Rocky next week in one trade, as long as Rocky's price doesn't go up more than Cripps price goes up (with $16k to spare).

derek · 19/05/2015 at 14:02

Cripps has a BE of 68, but his massive Round 4 score will drop out of his 3 week average after this week.

This means that this will be the last week of price increases for Cripps. his BE next week might be 130+ even if he scores 100 this week.

    SideBySidebottom · 19/05/2015 at 15:11

I'm hoping to trade him last, for Ablett. A potential average of 100 at M8 in the meanwhile is very attractive. If Ablett's not back for four weeks his price could end up anywhere but the points makes that risk palatable.

      @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 17:06

Trade him for a DPP, and sit that at M8.

Plenty of coaches could be waiting for something that never arrives, Gaz.

      SC Virgin · 19/05/2015 at 21:53

Agree sbs with cripps but not sure on abs. Unless he gets back on the park and blitz for weeks on end may do the unthinkable and pass on abs this year.

CJay · 19/05/2015 at 14:11

Is anyone else getting concerned about down grade options for the coming rounds especially R11? Lamb maybe a good downgrade to in R13 if he's back after Richmond bye but other than that I can't see much on offer.

    Swans2012 · 19/05/2015 at 14:50

Can’t plan downgrade options, just gotta hope and if not appearing get creative…

    Baggy Pants · 19/05/2015 at 16:26

Steele for GWS has been ripping it up in the reserves BOG this week, can't be long before he gets a game.

      CJay · 19/05/2015 at 17:40

hi community..

thoughts on.

oxley to T.Mcdonald or H.Shaw?

and Vandenberg to Rocky or T.Mitchell??

I'm thinking H.Shaw and T.Mitchell because of he's mid/fwd swing and I would be looking to bring in rocky for cripps next week but I just want a second or third lol opinion on it?

    Jacob · 19/05/2015 at 19:41

Shaw and Rocky for me, but if you wanna take some risks go Macdonald and Titch.

cooky · 19/05/2015 at 14:45

Community advice please.

Vandenberg/Salem out this week to A Pearce(via duel pos)/ Luke Parker or Rocky. Parker still cheaper enough to get now but more expensive, Rocky is bottom dollar and gives me a bigger war chest for coming weeks, thoughts?

    Swans2012 · 19/05/2015 at 14:52

Rocky for mine. Less money more upside. But it comes down to personal opinion….

      I N Pieman · 19/05/2015 at 15:18

If you want Parker this is the week. You can wait another week for Rocky, he won't sail off into expensive land this week.

        @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 17:08

Agree with INP, Rocky won't sail off too far.
Too Serious calculator – if scores 150 this round, he'll go up 30K. Still a bargain at that price.

Redd · 19/05/2015 at 14:49

Alright getting rid of Kade Simpson and Jesse Hogan got a few options the 2 i like are

1. Tom Mcdonald and Eddie Betts 90k left
2. Jackson Thurlow and Jack Ziebell 283k left

    I N Pieman · 19/05/2015 at 15:16

Simpson is listed as a test. I wouldn't get rid of him. Hogan time to go. I'd look at going someone else to TMac if you can. Don't mind the Ziebell selection at all.

    @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 17:09

If you have the cash, i'd trade Hogan > Ziebell and hold on Simpson.

I've had Ziebell from the start. Take out the game he was concussed, and he's averaging 100+. Still a very good price.

Jezg · 19/05/2015 at 14:56

Anyone got an opinion on how many trades we should have left leading into this week. Thinking vand down to dick and Judd sideways to tmitch then pushing him fwd. That would leave my war chest at $243k. Taking a gamble on rocky not making BE this week then jumping on him. Currently have 22 trades. Sitting in top 9%. Was top 5% 2 weeks ago. (Ouch!)

    I N Pieman · 19/05/2015 at 15:05

The answer is as many trades as possible. Really depends on your circumstances. Rocky not essential this week. Won't go up in price too much if he goes large. I don't think much of Dick's JS. Dick will be in & out at best.

      brook · 19/05/2015 at 15:27

so true, he really finds it hard to keep his head as the pressure mounts …

Jim · 19/05/2015 at 15:50

Thoughts on Treloar?

    @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 17:11

Taking a good look at him this week, possible trade in.

80-90K down on starting price. Take out the Subi game where GWS were smashed and he's averaging 113. At 490K he looks very decent value. Possibly him this round, Rocky the following.

Rick · 19/05/2015 at 15:51

All you guys jumping on rockliff…. Why? Yes he has performed very well in the past. But has he really shown anything this season? I dont think he will improve and maybe average 90 a week. Not the 110 we are looking to get from him

    NateCrows · 19/05/2015 at 16:05

hes not fit yet. Think it's too early to get him in. 2-3 weeks

    Phil · 19/05/2015 at 17:42

He'll nearly get 90 points on tackles alone some weeks. I'd say he'd be more likely to average 130 from here than 90. But upto you I guess

Ben Bretel · 19/05/2015 at 16:25

happy with how im going only 14 and 3rd year of supercoach ranking 2000. 19 trades left after this round but teams looking good plan on having 10 trades after byes
def : shaw rance simposon newnes saad mctionish /goodes brown
Mid fyfe pendels priddis kennedy lewis beams rocky griffen/ krak henney mckenise
Fwd: gray swan martian goddard tarrarnt clark/ lamb mcgragh

Guys as I said last week PARKER is about to explode I feel the same about Ziebell for the long run. It’s time he realises his potential and adds that bit of consistency to his game. What are everyone’s thoughts on the former burnman?

    I N Pieman · 19/05/2015 at 16:49

Stevo · 19/05/2015 at 16:41

Griffin to Rocky or Pendlebury then?

    I N Pieman · 19/05/2015 at 16:50

Pendles will carry the 80 for a couple of weeks & drop. Rocky rock bottom bargain

      Jambo · 19/05/2015 at 18:23

Absolutely. Pendles could go as low as $545,000 with his 80. Joel Selwood is another who could come in between $495-505,000 in a couple of weeks.

    Tophawk · 19/05/2015 at 19:16

Rockliff is your man. He is on sale big time right now. Hurry! Dont miss out.

    Stevo · 19/05/2015 at 17:49

    Yeo, Clancee Pearce

    Jambo · 19/05/2015 at 18:21

    Robert Murphy, Josh Gibson.

    Geo · 19/05/2015 at 22:42

Thurlow at the cats – Ave – 93. 406.000 must consider

Matt · 19/05/2015 at 17:00

Is it worth downgrading to A Pearce from Freo instead of J Lever, as Pearce will allow me to trade VDB to rockliff where as lever leaves me a few $ short

    @t_woof · 19/05/2015 at 17:14

With Adelaide's current injury list, Lever's job security looks far superior to Pearce's.

    derek · 19/05/2015 at 17:17

Pearce was lucky to get a game last weekend. Was a late inclusion. not sure we will get many games out of him. lever should play fairly often.

    Phil · 19/05/2015 at 17:34

If anything Schade might be a better pick, albeit he is a little more expensive

Bailey · 19/05/2015 at 17:11

Is there a problem with me having 3 swans mids in my team. I currently have Jpk and Barry Mitchell and was thinking about bringing in Parker this round.

    Locked and Loaded · 19/05/2015 at 17:20

Go for it the way they share the ball and get their own ball should have you feeling quite comfortable. Just be careful of their bye round

    derek · 19/05/2015 at 17:22

that's the problem with swans, they bat very deep. You could add a few more to those three if you wanted. mcGlynn, Jack, McVeigh, hanaberry.

they can share the points around a bit, but as long as they are winning games there should be points to go around.

Collingwood, you always know the points will go to pendlebury, swan & Sidebottom (and formally Beams), win lose or draw.

    SideBySidebottom · 19/05/2015 at 17:37

Sydney, Fremantle, Collingwood and Essendon share the same bye.

The Ranger · 19/05/2015 at 17:35

In the midst of a SC season to forget so far going Heeney to Parker and Cripps to Rocky has at last bought a smile to my face!

Stevo · 19/05/2015 at 17:49

Parker or Rocky?

Dean · 19/05/2015 at 18:02

I have 23 trades left, my priority is to bring Parker in this week as his break even is only 48 so his price will increase $20+k However to do this means I need to use 2 trades this week. I am Currently ranked 3470 overall
My defence is very week but I will fix that last as all rookies in my defence still have low break evens apart from Oxley

Here is my current team

Shaw, Oxley, Lumumba
McIntosh, Geary, Saad
McKenzie, Goodes

Fyfe, Pendles, Priddis, JPK
Beams, Dagerfield, Cripps, Miller
Vandenberg, Ellis-Yolmen, Heeney

Goldy, Blicavs

Swan, Gray, Martin
TBC, Krakouer, Clark
Hogan, Lonie

Option 1 Trade out Cripps & McIntosh & bring in Parker & Lever. This will give me $93,700

Option 2 Trade out Cripps & Vandenberg & bring in Parker & Glenn. This will give me $187,300 (Glenn is a concern obviously)

Option 3 Trade out Cripps & Lonie & bring in Parker & Dale. This will give me $130,700 (Personally I'm leading towards this option ATM especially if Lonie is playing and I also loved the debut of Dale)

IF Lonie plays this week then I have to get rid of him as his B/E is 101 so he will lose most of what he has made in no time.

Then in round 9 I will trade out a midfield rookie to bring in Rockliff as I don't think Rocky will increase dramatically this week as opposed to Parker.

Regarding Bye rounds IF I chose option 3 this will leave me with the following
7 players out in round 11
12 players out in round 12
11 players out in round 13
However in round 9 I will most likely trade out Miller For Rocky, which will mean I will have 8 players out in round 11 and 11 players out in round 12 and 11 players out in round 13
After this my midfield will be complete, so I can then work on my Forward & Defence as I know these areas are week, predominantly my defence.

All your advise will be greatly appreciated.

    Jambo · 19/05/2015 at 18:32

Forget Parker, bring in Rockliff (breakeven of 80 and playing Essendon this week [will probably go HUGE]). Yes, you may say, "Parker won't come much cheaper and Rocky's done stuff-all this year". However, Parker's scoring capacity is lower than Rockliff as he is a proven ultra premium in a team that is starting to get going this year. I would not look at trading out Cripps as Carlton play Geelong and from memory, Carlton always play well against Geelong so, I expect Cripps to knock out a 110. Thus, his price will continue to skyrocket.
I like the Lever selection. I would trade out Hogan and Vandenburg for Rockliff and Lever or Glenn (if named).

      Swans2012 · 19/05/2015 at 20:28

I question Parker as a top ten mid, is cheap and gun but top ten? I dunno….

        Swans2012 · 19/05/2015 at 20:28

        Rocky locked for mine

    Liam · 19/05/2015 at 20:21

Trade Cripps and Vandenberg and bring in Rocky or Parker and Lever via Mckenzie dip

    Tophawk · 19/05/2015 at 20:48

    Hi Dean,

You are travelling very well in the rankings! Perhaps you can give me some advice as I am currently ranked 9644.

Your "bye" strategy is excellent IMO.

That said, I have traded in Rockliff this week in front of Parker and Priddis. (Yes I wish I traded in Priddis instead of Goddard last week but so be it)

I just think Rocky at 447K is a no brainer this week. His ribs are getting stronger as the weeks pass, and the lions have won their last 2. With a b/e of 80, that is as cheap as you will get and his upside is absolutely massive. (Barring another injury).

    Its the rockster for me!

      Dean · 20/05/2015 at 22:37

Tophawk I think the rankings this year is due to luck to be honest, the reason I say this is because the vast majority of teams have very similar team structures the only difference between you and I or me and say someone ranked in the top 500 to 1000 is they selected the rookies that pumped out the big scores while yours may have been on the bench, I know for certain that had a HUGE difference in my ranking especially in the first 3 rounds as I didn't have the high scoring rookies on the field.

Also this round hurt me as I had Hogan on the ground and my emergency was Lonie so I only scored 3 points as opposed to 104 had I selected Krakouer.

I totally agree that Rocky is a must, however his price will not increase in value much because Rockys break even is 79 as opposed to someone like Parker who has a break even of 42. Only because of this I believe Parker will increase by at least 25 to 30+k as I think Parker is back to his best. It's vital to follow your gut and don't let others change your mind..

Even if Rocky scores somewhere near his highest against the bombers which is 133 – Rockys price won't increase more than $25k even if he scores a 133 to 140 this is why I will wait until round 9 before bringing Rocky into my side.
I also think they will play Rocky in the forward for one more week like they have been just to give his ribs that little extra time before they throw him at his best role in the midfield and if im right then he will struggle to make 100 which means his price could still decrease slightly or increase very little.

In this scenario I don't like telling anyone who to bring in because when it comes to scoring & injuries no one knows.
However if you want Parker in your team at some point then last week was the best time or this week OTHERWISE you will be paying close to his starting price. It all comes down who you want in your side, if you want Parker in then do NOT wait another week simply because statistically his price should increase allot higher then Rockys price will in round 8.

      Hope this helps mate

Daniel · 19/05/2015 at 18:06

I trade in Brodie Smith last week, do i hold him, i have dmac and lever as cover after trades.
I am doing vdb to lever, Which of these options is better?
1. Nicnat to mumford/jacobs/maric
2. Griffen to priddis, selwood or rocky
3. Tarrant to Mitchell (Finishing off my fwd line)
4.Oxley to Mcdonald
5. Just make the one trade this week

    Jambo · 19/05/2015 at 18:39

If you traded him in, then you should stick with him. He will miss this week though.

Of your options, I don't like options 1-4 at all.
1: Nic Nat is the lone wolf ruckman and will only get better.
2: Griffen may miss this week but hold a little longer as Pendles and Jelwood will come cheaper soon.
3: Mitchell needs to continue performing to stay in the team and I don't think that is likely.
    4. McDonald has been fantastic so far but I think you may have missed the boat with him. I reckon Elliot Yeo or Robert Murphy are better options.
Maybe consider trading Oxley to Rockliff. That's my suggestion, best of luck this week.
Look at your team and try to upgrade where your team is weakest. Otherwise, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

    Dean · 19/05/2015 at 19:23

I would be getting rid of Griffen as of weeks ago the guy is crap, trade out Griffen and bring in Priddis. I brought him in last week for sloane

    Tyler · 19/05/2015 at 19:33

I disagree with Jambo, I think 1 and 2 are good options, provided you have the trades.

Nic Nat is losing money and losing points for your team. I would definitely consider trading him out for Mummy, sauce or maric.

Griffen is way underperforming. He is also losing money and it would be great if he starts belting out 120+ every week from here on out but the chances of that is very low. Trade him to rocky, parker, selwood or another must-have premo.

Stevo · 19/05/2015 at 18:15

Parker or Rocky

    Jambo · 19/05/2015 at 18:40

Liam · 19/05/2015 at 18:43

Just the one trade this week.

Vandenberg to Selwood

Or should I go Vandenberg to Rockliff??

    Dean · 19/05/2015 at 19:15

Out of those two id go Rockliff because he has a better chance of going up in price although I don't think he will go up much this week.
However Selwoods break even is 125 so it's more likely that his price may drop

Tom · 19/05/2015 at 18:43

I have traded out Oxley for Lever which leaves me with 472K

I am trading Vandenberg out for a midfielder. I will have 791K to work with

My current midfield is Fyfe, selwood, Gray, D.Mckenzie, Kennedy, Shiel, Cripps, Vanderberg( CEY, Krak, Blakely)

I will pick up Tom rockliff next week.

Any suggestions?

    Dean · 19/05/2015 at 19:10

I think picking up Rocky next week is a wise move as he won't sky rocket in price this round, even if he scores a 133 which is his highest score against the bombers, even if he scores a 130 odd, his price will only increase by approximately $30k

Leon · 19/05/2015 at 19:37

Hey guys, was wondering if I could get some help with my team this week.

Def: Shaw, Smith, Newnes, Oxley, K Mac, Saad [Kelly, Mckenzie]
Mid: Fyfe, Selwood, Dangerfield, K Jack, Griffen, Neale, Cripps, CEY [Krak, Boekhorst, Dumont]
Ruc: Maric, Blicavs [O'Brien]
Fwd: Gray, Swan, Martin, B Goddard, Bontempelli, Tarrant [Clark, H Goddard]

Have 20 trades and $98,000

Players I'm thinking of bringing in: Rocky, Parker, Treloar, Shiel, McDonald
Players I'm thinking of trading out: Griffen, K Jack, K Mac, Cripps, Oxley, Clark

Would be great if people could help out.
Thanks 🙂

    derek · 19/05/2015 at 20:47

hold griffin and Jack. they are Premium players and you need to hold them.

Cripps has one more week of price increase and then he is done (his big round 4 score drops from his average). So it looks like Oxley, KMac or Clark are on the chop this week for you.

      Traderlyf · 19/05/2015 at 20:54

oxley vs suns so i would say kmac and clark

      Leon · 20/05/2015 at 08:27

who would you suggest bringing in?

T.J.M · 19/05/2015 at 19:44

Which 2 need to go first. Salem, Hogan, Vandenberg, Lonie, Oxley, McIntosh

    Matt - Dejong · 19/05/2015 at 20:20

vandenberg and lonie for me T.J.M

    Liam · 19/05/2015 at 20:23

    Salem and vandenberg

Jim · 19/05/2015 at 19:48

Ollie Wines may be back this week. Good trade in option?

Traderlyf · 19/05/2015 at 20:24

Option 1

Oxley -> Yeo
Sloane -> JPK
and hope rockliff doesnt score too high so i can go cripps -> rockliff next week

Option 2

Oxley -> Rockliff vis mckenzie
Sloane -> JPK
miss the boat on yeo

    derek · 19/05/2015 at 20:36

option 2, by a fair margin

      Traderlyf · 19/05/2015 at 20:43

how about oxley to treloar and cripps to rockliff next week

    Ben · 19/05/2015 at 21:17

Definitely option 2! Rockliff should easily average more than Yeo

      Traderlyf · 19/05/2015 at 23:03

ill be getting in rockliff next week anyway? I would just like Yeo to better my defence.

        Dean · 20/05/2015 at 23:17

Traderlyf How do you bring Oxley -> Rockliff vis Mckenzi To do this you must have a mid/def & a Def/Mid right? I'm confused…

TommyD21 · 19/05/2015 at 20:40

Heres my team the moment community, not entirely sure what I should do this week
135,000 in the bank,

H.Shaw S.Docherty H Taylor
A.Oxley A.Saad J.Newnes (Lumumba, Goddard)

Fyfe, Pendles, Beams, Selwood,
Ellis Yolman Danger Krak Cripps (McKenzie, Anderson, Steele)

Goldy NicNat

Gray, Martin, Swan
Hogan, TBC, Clark (Tarrant, Lonie)

Lumumba out> Upgrade to a buddy, roughy or titch?

Deesnuts · 19/05/2015 at 21:00

vanderburg > beams
lonie > beams

    Ben · 19/05/2015 at 21:15

Vandenberg. Lonie to Beams likely means you lose your Mid/Fwd swing set which is useful, especially for the byes

Alex · 19/05/2015 at 21:05

Priddis or Rocky?!?

PLZ help community!!!

    Ben · 19/05/2015 at 21:12

If you want to waste 150k and pick Priddis instead of Rockliff, be my guest.

    derek · 19/05/2015 at 22:11

priddis this week, Rocky next week.

sc2015 · 19/05/2015 at 21:27

which trades should i do?
firstly i'm looking to get these players in: Buddy, Jacobs, McDonald and Rockliff
Which should i do this round

I dont think Rocky will rise in price much and neither will buddy, B/E of 100 v Hawks… but McDonald is %99 going to increase a fair bit and so is jacobs

    derek · 19/05/2015 at 22:11

TBC >> Jacobs. TBC is costing points and cash.

Buddy will get cheaper – Buffalo Bounce

McDonald has outperformed himself and won't be able to keep it up.

Do Cripps >> Rocky next week. they should both increase in price the same, so no loss of value.

Traderlyf · 19/05/2015 at 23:13

This weeks trades are-

Mcintosh -> Yeo
Sloane -> Rockliff

Would of liked to go sloane to JPK but was 10k short :/
