That’s what we require community as we focus with laser like precision on building a team full of top end premiums as quickly as we possibly can.
And that takes discipline. That takes patience. That means at times letting a bloke who is soiling the underpant of your team STAY in your team while you attend to the priority of building a robust structure.

Hey community, have 410k in the bank, thinking Bellchambers to ryder, keeps the ruck cover intact and has looked good with lobbe playing. And Walters from freo to ziebell who is now 389k. Averaging 100 if you take the 4 out of his scores. Good trades or ziebell too much of a risk? Thanks guys

    jack · 03/05/2015 at 22:04

I like the ziebell one , only the one bad score due to him being a idiot

    Swans2012 · 04/05/2015 at 08:58

I like Ziebell, not sold on the Ryder trade only because it seems a fairly big spend for a relatively minor increase in point scoring potential…
Belch to average 70-80, Ryder 90-100.

    Just_Genetics · 04/05/2015 at 09:10

i say still with bell till after the bye rounds as in the third bye round wce nm port and gws the home of some of the best rucks in the comp are on a bye

    Jackybluch · 04/05/2015 at 09:34

What to do with Judd ? Keep or trade?

      Bye Week · 04/05/2015 at 18:21

      hold him

    zeesus · 04/05/2015 at 09:56

I have had Ziebell in the past. He is pretty consistent with his 80-90 scores. You are simplifying things by removing his score of 4. If you break it down he has actually scored: 89, 80, 4, 150 and 82.
Yes he will have some big games but they will be few and far between. You will get 80s from this bloke. And he is priced accordingly.

      Swans2012 · 04/05/2015 at 12:20

80-90 with the occasional big one may still = 100 which is a win.

        zeesus · 04/05/2015 at 14:25

For a midfielder? You honestly believe you can find better.

          demon · 04/05/2015 at 15:33

not the mention the niggling injuries and suspensions, I'd stay clear

          Swans2012 · 04/05/2015 at 17:18

For a mid fwd future f7/m9 loophole @ 390k with the ability to go 150. Wouldn’t consider as a mid but as a fwd 100 is likely top 8 by year end. That’s IF he averages 100, which my gut says he might

          Swans2012 · 04/05/2015 at 17:18

I think your forgetting he’s mid fwd this year

          Ryan · 04/05/2015 at 21:40

Yeah, as a fwd i forgot to mention

Brad · 03/05/2015 at 21:29

My team is f*****! Bring on next year

I’m sick of underperformance promos!

    Motsy · 03/05/2015 at 21:31

I know that feeling mate, 7 premos in the mids at the moment, avg BE of 119 between them!

Hold strong! they will come good.

KJU FC · 03/05/2015 at 21:30

Rockliff priced at $579k with a BE of 290…

boy oh boy woweeee

    Ryan · 03/05/2015 at 21:34

Looking like he could drop to 450k

      Swans2012 · 03/05/2015 at 22:05

Might be able to downgrade Cripps to Rockliff in a fortnight!

        Just_Genetics · 04/05/2015 at 09:11

        thats the plan!

      Spifflicator · 04/05/2015 at 13:27

Will drop another $200k over 3 games!

    @t_woof · 04/05/2015 at 00:44

    No worries BT.

    @thecowza · 04/05/2015 at 11:17

Dropped 130k that has to be a supercoach record?

tom · 03/05/2015 at 21:31

should I upgrade Mcintosh to Enright or someone else under 500k or sideways Griffen to the Bont?

    Dylan · 04/05/2015 at 00:00

You should still be able to earn some coin from McIntosh, while I would expect Enright to come down a little. Try to hold a couple of weeks, but take a look at the break evens and make a call from there

      Just_Genetics · 04/05/2015 at 09:12

id wait till next week to trade griffen out as both rockliff and sloan are set to drop and could do a sideways trade for one of them

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:27

hold on the DEF line upgrades.
    money to be made elsewhere

Harrison · 03/05/2015 at 21:32

25 trades 120,700 cash. Carnage round. Current rank 10,841. Only scared 2196
Duds: shaw, saad, oxley, fyfe, pendles, CEY, gray, vandenberg, cripps, miller, goldstein, nicnat, martin, tarrant bont, lonie, swan
Spuds: smith, simpson, newnes, lewis, griffen, krak, hogan, salem
Injuries: Smith (is he injured?) wallis, lewis (not injured i know but geez wizz i expect 4), Salem (?? subbed), Clark
Holding the premos, starting to upgrade rookies soon
Hahahah "i need a premo"

    Poloko48 · 03/05/2015 at 21:49

Doing a lot better than most Harry old son – 2196 is a decent enough score. Good ranking this early too.
Interested in some of your spuds – a few rookies there, can't expect gold every week from them, they are there to make you $$$, a big score is simply a bonus. Good luck!

      Harrison · 03/05/2015 at 21:55

thanks Poloko48, i agree with you about the spuds. Yes im asking too much from those melbourne boys against freo. Does anyone know when Wallis will be back have been holding him. Is salem injured? How many weeks will Lewis get? soo many questions to be answered

        Just_Genetics · 04/05/2015 at 09:18

wallis should be back in 2 weeks salem is not injured and lewis should get 3 + weeks

Robert · 03/05/2015 at 21:32

Hey community!

Quick question.

I have 240k in the bank and would like to get rid of Griffen, Kade simpson or Newnes

In my opinion i think they are under preforming plus a big BE.

Would like to try and get Fyfe or Pendels in.

Any suggestions?

    Ryan · 03/05/2015 at 21:35

Griffine to pendles/fyfe for mine, defenders too unpredictable at the minute

    Ethan · 03/05/2015 at 23:01

simmo would/could be the top 8 defenders in the this season

      Spifflicator · 04/05/2015 at 13:29

He looked awful on Friday, I would stay away from him for now.

    BT · 03/05/2015 at 23:15

don't trade griffen unless is to pendles or fyfe, maybe wait for rockliff.
Keep simpson and newnes, high chance they'll outscore whoever you bring in for them

    Just_Genetics · 04/05/2015 at 09:20

id say keep all till next week unless it is to fyfe or pendles – as next week sload is set to drop and so is rockliff could be a sideways trade to either of them

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:28

find another way to get pendles and fyfe, even if you have to wait

Pumper · 03/05/2015 at 21:33

Trade Salem for either Mckenzie orGlenn from GC who scored over 100 in his first game
then Trade either Hogan or Clark to Barlow?

    Ryan · 03/05/2015 at 21:37

the rule is wait till the rookies are on the bubble, but if you're confident they will keep a spot in the team and a productive role, by all means trade in Glenn. Think he will be a popular selection next week

    BT · 03/05/2015 at 23:13

with gold coast's injury list, glenn should atleast play until the bye, big bodied tough player, what gc need

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:29

right now i would be looking at McKenzie.
Hold one more week on Glenn. McKenzie has more job security then Glenn

In a perfect world you would be holding on both until they play 2 games but for cash generation and Salems bigger BE i would go McKenzie

      Bob · 04/05/2015 at 22:26

What team does McKenzie play for?

        Wheels1987 · 05/05/2015 at 08:02

    @themisfitsSC · 04/05/2015 at 18:44

mcintosh 100 first round remember, just hold on glenn

      Dee · 05/05/2015 at 18:35

tom · 03/05/2015 at 21:33

do we trade griffen?

    Ryan · 03/05/2015 at 21:37

I'm starting to think maybe we do

    judd0 · 03/05/2015 at 21:50

Did you listen to the podcast?

      Just_Genetics · 04/05/2015 at 09:21

      the podcast isnt always right

    jockreynolds · 03/05/2015 at 21:53

Gday there Tommy – I'd stick fat with the Griff old mate

    Just_Genetics · 04/05/2015 at 09:21

id say wait on him till next week when sloan and rock drop

    jacob · 04/05/2015 at 10:30

I’m pulling the trigger on Griff to pendled this week. I’ve persevered with Griff for the past 2 seasons and I’m sick of what appears to be a lack of effort. Don’t think he’s worth holding onto.

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:30

PreviouslyOnLost · 03/05/2015 at 21:36

needed a bit more from salem and a bit less from robbie gray… only about 10k shy of the straight swap 🙁

    judd0 · 04/05/2015 at 13:26

Should be able to get in next week as long as gray doesn't go over 120.

Nicholas · 03/05/2015 at 21:36

Hey Community,
Thinking of newnes to a rokkie and griffen to pendle is this a good move community and which rookie would i bring in. I currently have 50k in the bank.

    Nicholas · 03/05/2015 at 21:38

instead of pendle i could even go mundy or thompson. Thoughts?

    Ryan · 03/05/2015 at 21:39

Mckenzie from saints debuted today, looked ok, would like to see him play again before bringing him in though

      TOPHAWK1 · 03/05/2015 at 22:24

      Ahhhh I like him…Wecome!!

A def/mid swinger is gold running into the byes.

    jockreynolds · 03/05/2015 at 21:52

Dan McKenzie played his first today mate and I reckon he'll play a stack of footy. Could be a good DEF rookie option

      Nicholas · 03/05/2015 at 23:31

      Ok thanks jock

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:30

    hold newnes

Brilksy21 · 03/05/2015 at 21:37

Who to trade Lewis to. Already have Pendels, Fyfe, Parker as premos in the guts

    Ryan · 03/05/2015 at 21:39

    Hannebery looking very good mate

      Mark · 03/05/2015 at 21:55

I was considering Hannebery very strongly in the pre season. Went with wines instead (FMSC). I'd get on him straight away. Hes looking very nice.

        Traderlyf · 03/05/2015 at 22:11

    Canny the Manny · 03/05/2015 at 22:23

    Just_Genetics · 04/05/2015 at 09:24

id try hold him for 1 round if i could to get sloan in next week when he drops another 40k

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:31

    hold Lewis if you can

    Tofor · 06/05/2015 at 16:21

Hold Lewis. Only 2 weeks, and should score well enough on return to be a keeper.

tom · 03/05/2015 at 21:41

Harry Taylor, Corey Enright or Grant Birchall?

looking to bring one of these three into my team.

do we think they will be in the top 8 defenders come end of the year?

    midzy · 03/05/2015 at 21:48

    jockreynolds · 03/05/2015 at 21:51

I'd go Enright as the more consistent of them and most likely to crack the top 8

      Poloko48 · 03/05/2015 at 21:56

Have had him from the start – the way def has been this year you need your tried and true locked in.

    Redgumwon · 03/05/2015 at 22:05

    Enright or Taylor

    BT · 03/05/2015 at 23:12

    shake n bake · 04/05/2015 at 09:37

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:31

    I have TAYLOR
    he is a gun

but upgrade FWD and DEF lines 1st

noob · 03/05/2015 at 21:41

Have a few problems with the team. I believe it is to late to ditch lumumba, newnes and parker so i'm unfortunately going to keep them. Depending on injuries i'm going to be trading out some rookies.

NVB went down in $$$ this week he needs to go. Also Ben Newton looks done. Have 400k in the bank.

current midfield looks like this… Fyfe, Sloane, Beams, Parker, Steven, CEY, Krak, Vandenberg, (Heeney, newton, NVB)

Also have 26 trades left.

Cheers community.

    Ryan · 03/05/2015 at 21:44

Nvb to pendles looks like a good move

      jockreynolds · 03/05/2015 at 21:51

Agree with Ryan Noob – Almost lock NVB to DePendles I reckon

    Derek · 03/05/2015 at 21:50

    Pendbury, get him in now

    SideBySidebottom · 04/05/2015 at 00:00

It's never too late to ditch Lumumba.

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:33

    bring in Pendles and McKenzie
    for NVB and Newton

Caz · 03/05/2015 at 21:43

Hi community, I have both sloane and lewis do I trade one of these 2 and bench the other as I want to get rid of griffin or keep both and use rookies as coverage. Please help.

    Ryan · 03/05/2015 at 21:45

3 or more weeks and I'd get rid of Lewis, wait and see with sloanes injury

    TOPHAWK1 · 03/05/2015 at 22:29

    Sleep on it.

We will know more next week.

Griffin is the guy that is holding teams back IMO.

    He is OUT

      Caz · 04/05/2015 at 02:17

I agree griffin is killing me.

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:33

    hold both

Jamie · 03/05/2015 at 21:48

Slipped down to 119 overall which was a bit disappointing. Had 2227 this week with a couple of wrong selections on the field and Sloane cost me a 2300+ score.

Have Hodge as well and will most likely hold as I'm guessing 2-3 weeks?

Am thinking of bringing in some premiums this week in Bob Murphy for Goodes (so I have coverage for Hodge) and Rich for Mundy as he just isn't scoring anymore.

Hopefully can get back into the top 100 next week!

Cheers Jock

    jockreynolds · 03/05/2015 at 21:50

Great season so far Jamie! Great stuff mate! I reckon he could be a three week break for Hodgey – esp with Swallow getting concussed and all. Hope to see you up the 100 🙂

      Jamie · 03/05/2015 at 21:57

A brain fade that I'm confident will never happen again, and he's far too good to get rid of.

Getting to the fun part of the season now!

      Derek · 03/05/2015 at 22:05

Swallow was concussed by stratton’s hit.

Hodge might get 1 week, same Lewis

        Girdle · 04/05/2015 at 04:33

One week each? You having a laugh?

          Mitch · 04/05/2015 at 09:28

Should be 1 each but knowing what footy is like these days..

      Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:35

      hodgy is gone
      but hold if possible
DEF line is as reliable as a woman telling ya she will be ready in 5 minutes.
Use rookies as bench cover for Hodge. any more than 3 weeks suspension get him out

    Danners16 · 03/05/2015 at 22:43

Great stuff Jamie! In your position, I probably wouldn't fall for the Mundy trap. Could save yourself some cash by going to a Priddis, Dangerfield, JPK who are proven cheap premiums. If you want a POD Steven and B.Ellis could provide you with some value.

      Davo · 04/05/2015 at 07:45

Can you explain the term POD

        Charlesy · 04/05/2015 at 08:10

        Point of difference mate

      Jamie · 04/05/2015 at 09:21

I've heard people say Mundy is a smokey for the Brownlow this year. You don't think he can keep it up?

        Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:36

he has always been really good but almost too consistant, never breaking a 110+ point game
has taken it up a level this season.
problem is when he plays well, so does FYFE so l would be holding my bets. if FYFE gets suspended then i will be betting on Mundy

Connor · 03/05/2015 at 21:50

G’Day All,

I know it’s a straight swap but should I go:

J. Newnes > T. McDonald

Or I can Upgrade/Downgrade. Pure and simple, I am not happy with his performance…

    Danners16 · 03/05/2015 at 22:34

The trade I did last week, I did my research and it is a good trade. I believe he can be a premo this season

    BT · 03/05/2015 at 23:11

current form yes, however very risky, mcdonald surely can't maintain a 110 average, where newnes can't be any worse and has to improve

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:37

    sideways trade

      @dimSIMpson · 04/05/2015 at 15:36

      2014 Average;
      Kicks: 11.1
      Handballs: 8.7
      Disp. 19.9
      Marks: 5.5
      Tackles: 3.8
      Frees against: 1.0

      Kicks: 11
      Handballs: 8.4
      Disp: 19.4
      Marks 6.6
      Tackles: 3.0
      Frees against: 2.4

Easy to see the frees against are the difference between last year and this year. He'll only cost you another 25k before he bottoms out in the next few weeks. Bit more discipline (coach will get stuck in) and his disposals back up to 85-90 (Like Sunday) you'll see him scoring what we were hoping. No real downside now! Might as well see if he improves to the byes?

dejong · 03/05/2015 at 21:50

heeny and rich out, in comes JPK and some rookie(average of 103) forget his name
now got 16 keepers, dependiong on injury

    Danners16 · 03/05/2015 at 22:38

    Wait a week on JPK

      Sarah · 04/05/2015 at 10:17

Why wait? JPK's BE is only 104. He shouldn't drop much, if at all! The game is about points, not just money. For the sake of maybe $5k if he scores only 90… I'd get him in… and am getting him in this week!

    BT · 03/05/2015 at 23:09

solid, perfect time to get JPK

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:38

Your talking about Glenn from Gold Coast.
    JPK good pickup
Hold Heeney if you can, maybe swap out Salem instead, Heeney still got coin to make

mcleal10 · 03/05/2015 at 21:54

Who's the captain for loophole this week folks? Might go Goldy again or Pendles

    BT · 03/05/2015 at 23:08

pendles is a genuine captain option, goldy isn't

    Rawkus11 · 05/05/2015 at 20:04

    Pendles for sure!

Poloko48 · 03/05/2015 at 21:55

Only 1 trade this week – Lamb to Mundy via MID/FWD swing with Krak.
In only 4% of teams could be a good POD to Fyfe, he's only averaging just under 5pts less per game but is $64.6K cheaper.
BE of 93 means he will only keep going up in price, currently #2 ranked overall behind Fyfe.
Have never really considered him in the past but it seems like this is his year.
What do you all think?

    Harrison · 03/05/2015 at 21:57

Havent looked much into Mundy but gee wizz he looks good atm. Not sure what role he is playing you'll have to ask freo supporters. Im not sure he can keep it up be he is a very god POD. i like your thinking

    Derek · 03/05/2015 at 22:03

He is over-achieving. I doubt he will keep it going.

If you are thinking about Mundy, it means you haven’t been tormented by Ross Lyon.

I could see the glint in Ross’s eye today, he is 5-0 and already thinking about resting his gun players. Beware with all Freo players

    Danners16 · 03/05/2015 at 22:35

Too much for Mundy, if he is not going to be your captain, take a look at Jack Steven if you don't have him. $100k cheaper, only gone under 100 once so far

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:39

just be aware that there is ALOT of falling premos
If you have SC GOld go to the market watch and see who is cold.
Mundy is awesome, but so is value

    Damian · 04/05/2015 at 19:41

This is such a noob question, but how do you trade Lamb who doesn't have DPP eligibility, for a MID via a single trade?

      Scott · 04/05/2015 at 19:54

Trade out Lamb and switch a DPP Mid/Fwd into your fwd line, then trade in a mid.

    Damian · 04/05/2015 at 20:48

Never mind. Found out via the help:

DUAL POSITION PLAYER TRADES – You'll now have more flexibility with how you trade, by being able to move dual position players within your team during the trading process – without having to have a 'matching' dual position player in the other position. For example, you may:
    a) elect to trade out a Forward who is not a dual position player.
    b) If you have a Defender who is also a Forward, you may substitute them into the Forward spot left vacant by the player you elected to trade out.
    c) You'll now have a vacant Defender spot on your team.
    d) In effect, you are therefore trading out a Forward for trading in a Defender.

Thanks for the suggestion and making me look into it.

Derek · 03/05/2015 at 21:55

With so many rookies still fattening, do we wait until they are plump, or do we go early on some of them?

Fallen premiums, who are at their bottom this week?

Goddard looks at low point, who else?

    Derek · 03/05/2015 at 21:58

Won’t have enough trades (only two each week) to sell cash cows and get fallen premiums. I’m thinking players with a big war best will have a big advantage over the next 3 or 4 weeks as premiums hit their low prices

      Swans2012 · 03/05/2015 at 22:07

I think it’s a year for aggressive trading. Especially with Rockliff now almost a free hit top 8 mid

        Swans2012 · 03/05/2015 at 22:10

looking at Ziebell for Salem this week, will be f5 for now but eventually m9f7 loophole fodder. At $390k is cheap!

          Ryan · 03/05/2015 at 22:27

I'm bringing him in for Walters, will only cost me 23k for a guy who, apart from the 4, is averaging 100

    judd0 · 04/05/2015 at 09:47

I think I'll double downgrade next week if Glenn and Mackenzie play there 2nd game and are named for there third.
Probably trade out Salem and Mcintosh.

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:39

Salem is a def out this week.

the rest i would hold for another week

Josh · 03/05/2015 at 22:01

Newnes to Mckenzie then Vandenberg to Pendlebury?

    Danners16 · 03/05/2015 at 22:36

    Good trade

    BT · 03/05/2015 at 23:07

hold on mckenzie, wait atleast another week, poor j/s and sub risk

      Swans2012 · 04/05/2015 at 07:50

Hold on vandy, scoring well and more $$$ to make

Jess · 03/05/2015 at 22:07

Are there any downgrade targets at all this week community? With some DPP's I can downgrade anywhere.

    Traderlyf · 03/05/2015 at 22:20

yeahh id like to know whos on the bubble

    Danners16 · 03/05/2015 at 22:38

Glenn, McKenzie, Boekhorst, Hams, Webb, Karnezis, Kelly, McInnes are all good cheap options

    Cozza · 03/05/2015 at 22:40

Not a whole lot this week that you probably haven't already got in your teams. Lowest BEs this week are:
    Tarrant -55
    Cripps -37
    Webb -36
    Lonie -31
    Krakour -30
    Picken -26
    T Miller -26
    N Brown -20
    McInnes -16
    M Clark -13
    Duggan -12
    J Kelly -10

McInnes is the only one of these that has only played 2 games – prices at $123,900 with avg of 45. A couple of good rookie could be up next week though – J Glenn scored 103 and is priced at $120k, McKenzie scored 63 and is $117k

    BT · 03/05/2015 at 23:06

    no viable downgrades

Poloko48 · 03/05/2015 at 22:09

Priddis might be the one this week, BE 109 av 96 $535.2K (-$71K)
Or JPK, BE 104 av 108 $547.1K (-$65K)
Mundy still cheap for his average, BE of 93 av 126 $593.2K
Selwood, Beams, Ward, Nathan Jones, Boomer, Parker in a few weeks will be ripe.
Barlow might be a nice POD although it looks like Neale, Fyfe & Mundy are taking some of his points away.

    BT · 03/05/2015 at 22:23

I'm personally getting JPK this week.
I started with Priddis last season but don't think i'll go near him this year.
I rate Mundy but think its to late to get on him, most likely finishing the year averaging 105-110 and completely unrealistic for him to keep up a 126 average.
Barlow playing a lot less in centre bounces and more of a half forward role and once Rockliff returns to form,
Beams could be a nice upgrade target. S
elwood, Parker are good, Boomer and Ward probably not.

    hope that helps

    Girdle · 04/05/2015 at 04:39

I’m with BT, ship has sailed on Mundy. He has his good streaks but always ends up around a 105 avg. Would rather look at a fallen premo like JPK or Dangerfield if you want one this week. Nathan Jones can’t stay down for too long either, usually comes good

Simo · 03/05/2015 at 22:27

Gday community….midfield was a train wreck this week. My backs outshone most of them.
Currently have Fyfe, Sloanne, Lewis, Parker, Griffen and the usual rookies most people have. Any suggestions???…Lewis could cause a few headaches pending how many weeks he gets…..Parker and Griffen are starting to wear a little thin

    Traderlyf · 03/05/2015 at 22:29

i think youd have to hold on most of them, theyve lost too much money to trade out and we can only hope they hit form soon… im in the same vote

chris · 03/05/2015 at 22:31

thoughts on these trades

griffen to JPK
salem to goddard

    Danners16 · 03/05/2015 at 22:46

Good, could wait a week on JPK

      BT · 03/05/2015 at 23:06

got a b/e of 104, probably won't go down anymore

min0008 · 03/05/2015 at 22:31

Trading Van Berlo to Josh Glenn and Salem to Goddard

    Simo · 03/05/2015 at 22:46

Had Glenn on my watchlist this week…scored well anyone see the game…what role did he play???

TOPHAWK1 · 03/05/2015 at 22:34

Hi community,

Flog 1- Griffin (Too much baggage)
Flog 2- Newnes (Too much expectation)
Flog 3- Walker (Too much pressure as captain)

    Danners16 · 03/05/2015 at 22:46

Cull 2, 3 Griffen doesn't necessarily need to come out yet and he has the most 100s out of the three of them

    Youngster · 04/05/2015 at 12:21

I have all these of these blokes and this week it's Walker to JPK when I swing Gray back into the FWD line. The way I see it, Tex needs to be emergency loopholed because he's all over the place and no certainty to outscore some of my rookies and is definitely not a top 6 forward this year (I don't care how high his ceiling is). And wouldn't it be good to trade Griffen to a real performer… but I can't justify the trade at this stage.

James · 03/05/2015 at 22:35

Is stefan Martin a viable option?
If not who do the community reckon will be the top 2 rucks this year?

    Danners16 · 03/05/2015 at 22:45

He would be a good option. Could be him and Goldstein as the two top rucks

    BT · 03/05/2015 at 23:04

is leunberger stays out of the team, he'll probably be the best ruck

Traderlyf · 03/05/2015 at 22:56

Option 1-
Bellchambers -> S Martin
Salem -> Mccines

Option 2 –
Salem -> Mcinnes
Sheed -> Pendles

    BT · 03/05/2015 at 23:04

option 2, but is McInnes really a good downgrade option???

      Traderlyf · 03/05/2015 at 23:11

could put krak up forward and get josh glenn but dont want to trade him in until his 3rd game

        BT · 03/05/2015 at 23:24

if Mcinnis is a key forward (i think, don't follow West Coast), Glenn would comfortably outscore him and has pretty good JS given Gold Coast's injury list. Safer to wait a week. Salem won't lose money this week and if he does;t play, he'll be a good loophole option.

          Traderlyf · 03/05/2015 at 23:33

          yeah good point, cheers

Chefs Arsse fc · 03/05/2015 at 23:08

Did I read that correctly?? We need to get the premis in as quickly as possible but we require patience???

    SideBySidebottom · 04/05/2015 at 16:34

Upgrade rookies that have peaked in price to premiums as quickly as possible but be patient with under performing premiums already in your team,

Big Boy McEvoy · 03/05/2015 at 23:19

PSA: Everyone knows that Rockliff will be cheap as chips in a month or so, but keep an eye on Stevie J. In a few weeks trading Ellis-Yolmen and Cripps to Rockliff and Stevie J should end up in making money. Worst comes to worst, would be a pretty handy M9 if his form doesn't turn around.

    derek · 04/05/2015 at 09:02

Steven Johnson is not a top 10 mid fielder anymore.

      mcleal10 · 04/05/2015 at 18:36

Doesn't have to be. If his price reaches near 400k, he could easily jump in price from a couple of good scores. Going from a immature rookie to a proven player in SJ for a cheap transfer is decent. Sometimes it's better to go with risks and achieve those POD players coming into byes.

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:55

    oh boy oh wow wee

Ethan · 03/05/2015 at 23:21

Salem To Goddard or Dalhhaus
or should i wait later cause it uses up all the war chest money

    AMERICANMAGPIE1 · 04/05/2015 at 01:16

That's tough? Goddard has the DPP is probably why i would go with him.

      Davo · 04/05/2015 at 17:05

      What’s DPP mean anyone?

        Ryan · 04/05/2015 at 22:42

Dual position Player, can play in fwd line or mid, comes in handy when trading

    Girdle · 04/05/2015 at 04:50

On what we’ve seen till now, I’d go with Dahlhaus. Seems to finally have some consistency about him. Think he’ll finish ahead of Goddard on points this year.

      @dimSIMpson · 04/05/2015 at 15:54

Look at Goddard's career, Averaged 100+ EVERY YEAR (bar #2, hampered by injury).

      Go with what you know.

        Girdle · 05/05/2015 at 04:07

Like most coaches I’ve had Goddard in just about every season (including last year as MID only). Right now though, I have Dahlhaus ahead of him. He has profited most from Griffen’s departure and Libba’s absence. Looking at the Dogs fixture, it also opens up nicely for them. Can’t see why Dahlhaus can’t continue on. Man’s entitled to his opinion.

    SideBySidebottom · 04/05/2015 at 16:37

Dahlhaus is reflective of the Bulldogs early performances, If you think the team can continue to perform at this level then lock him in.

      Girdle · 05/05/2015 at 04:12

It’s not uncommon for a young team like this to exceed expectations. When Hinkley took over at Port, no one expected much there. Two years later, they’re a big chance to finish top four. Bulldogs are this year’s surprise team.

Traderlyf · 03/05/2015 at 23:40

would salem to picken (via krak) but worth the trade? picken is sky rocketing in price and could even be a M8 at the end of the year plus a POD

    Traderlyf · 03/05/2015 at 23:42

    wait picken is defence…

      Swans2012 · 04/05/2015 at 08:05

I haven’t looked at him until now but certainly looks viable on his last two games which have seen a rocket up in possessions and score. Has he been let loose in the middle or something? Can someone fill in the gaps? Maybe playing Mitch Wallis role while he is out?

    Girdle · 05/05/2015 at 04:14

Had a couple “spike” games, don’t get sucked in there.

mcleal10 · 03/05/2015 at 23:46

Whos the best forward option for upgrade? Im heavily contemplating going to Dahlhaus or Franklin. Who else?

    Traderlyf · 03/05/2015 at 23:55

im guessing you have gray, swan, martin

      derek · 04/05/2015 at 08:56

      I'm going with goddard

        @dimSIMpson · 04/05/2015 at 15:54

Antonio · 03/05/2015 at 23:48

What to do with Minson?

    Traderlyf · 03/05/2015 at 23:56

    downgrade to grundy/blicavs?

    judd0 · 04/05/2015 at 11:59

I'm in the same boat and I'm quite torn.
Don't know whether to do what Traderlyf suggested or not

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 13:56

i traded him to Lobbe 2 weeks ago
would have been better to hold and take the donut.

    Scott · 04/05/2015 at 20:04

I traded him to Grundy last week, wait for the teams and keep him if he gets picked, I don't know how he went in the VFL, but I do know that Cordy got subbed

Peter · 04/05/2015 at 00:22

What's everyone's thoughts, Salem up to Benell or Goddard?

    derek · 04/05/2015 at 08:56

Salem to goddard is my trade this week

Alex · 04/05/2015 at 00:34

Both the Josh Kennedys have the exact same score.

Jack · 04/05/2015 at 00:56

Newnes is done. He's no good! Who is the best bet in defence? T.McDonald, Bob Murphy, Rance, Hooker or Houli (POD)?

    AMERICANMAGPIE1 · 04/05/2015 at 01:00

    I dumped Newnes for Houli

      AMERICANMAGPIE1 · 04/05/2015 at 01:01

      I already have Murphy

      BT · 04/05/2015 at 01:27

      sounds like your chasing points

    Juzzy · 04/05/2015 at 04:14

Newnes scored 72. He can stay for the moment.
I can't see anyone obvious to dump him for. I hope to upgrade my backline starting with the rookies up.
If you are hellbent on trading him check out Harry Taylor.

    Girdle · 04/05/2015 at 05:08

You people picked a player with an 81 avg from last year. He scored 72 on the weekend, is that so bad? He’s talked about as if he starred with a 110+ avg last season. Deal with any underperforming rookies first. Backline is unpredictable anyway, which reliable scorer simply has to come in for Newnes?

      derek · 04/05/2015 at 08:56

he didn't play that bad. He had a quiet last term. holding until the byes.

    Mike · 04/05/2015 at 14:30

Savage has been way worse. He’s out!
I got Savage about 4 weeks ago, he had a 5 game average (including end of last year) of about 93. Since I got him his average be lucky to hit 60 culminating in last week’s 30.
Might be chasing more points bringing in Houli but other than McDonald I don’t see who else I could bring in.

    Jambo · 04/05/2015 at 14:46

How about Brodie Smith, he's 451k at the moment. Hibberd is cheap too.

Jayden · 04/05/2015 at 02:34

What to do with Bellchambers

    Ethan · 04/05/2015 at 07:24

unless he's in your ruck then do a down up trade.
but if he's in the fwd, then you have some flexibility

    SCaddict · 04/05/2015 at 14:04

He seems to be steadily improving each game as he builds up his match fitness base. If he can get us 75-80 each week I'd be more than happy to keep him til the byes and maybe upgrade him to a Sauce Jacobs in Rd12.

    Mighty_Hondo · 05/05/2015 at 00:03

TBS will be a good trade up for a premo midfielder in due course. In the meantime will also cover current rucks and not lose any signifcant money although he has Freo this week so hit-outs might be tough. I've still got Lambert sitting in the mid…When the time is right I will drop TBC, move Lambert down to the Fwd and trade up the Belch for a premo mid..At least that's the plan at the moment. Lambert is proving useful to swap in a fdw/mid whilst Lewis is on holiday for 2 weeks. Hoping Lewis will come back highly motivated and kick arse.

Girdle · 04/05/2015 at 05:04

He’s not making cash, he’s not providing much cover And his ceiling Iis about 83. Upgrade to Martin or Blicavs (assuming you already have Goldy), they seem to have profited most from new scoring system

    Girdle · 04/05/2015 at 05:10

Or Ryder! Champion Data gave him 95 pts from seven touches and three goals. Explain that one to Jordan Lewis owners.

Gold Rush · 04/05/2015 at 05:49

Jesus, Kelly tore himself a new one!!!!

Ollie · 04/05/2015 at 06:55

Thinking of going with 2 trades this week,

Van Berlo and Salem out, Goddard and Priddis in. As jock said priddis seems to fly under the radar a bit and is usually very consistent.

    derek · 04/05/2015 at 08:53

    good trades.

    SCaddict · 04/05/2015 at 14:08

Sounds good Ollie. Looking at the same trades although upgrading to Hanners instead of Pridda.

Brett · 04/05/2015 at 07:34

Grundy or Blicavs? I think Goldstein has become too expensive, so its out of these two.

    scrofl · 04/05/2015 at 12:07

Definitely Blicavs. Grundy's scores will drop significantly when Witts comes back into the team to share the workload.

    mcleal10 · 04/05/2015 at 18:47

Blicavs is one hell of a player. Go him.

Johnny · 04/05/2015 at 07:42

What do we do with Goodes & Newton?

Sam · 04/05/2015 at 07:45

What to do with Rohan bewick in defence, don’t know why I picked him to start with but he is stinking it up nd looks to be on the outer as sub.

Thinking either

->bewick to Houli

->bewick to macdonald

Thoughts? Any better options?

    @TheNoLanguage · 04/05/2015 at 13:39

Houli will be a top 6 mid I'd go him

Luviboy1 · 04/05/2015 at 07:48

My current spuds are: Walker, Parker, Newnes and Lumumba. Who gets dropped? Didnt start with Fyfe (silly me), and I would like to get him in this week.

On another note is Daniel Rich ready to be slaughtered?

    mcleal10 · 04/05/2015 at 18:47

I'd hold all. You should definitely be looking for a way to sneak in Fyfe. If you have a slippery DPP that you can swing, I'd try that.
Daniel Rich to Rockliff in a week or so would be the most suitable option. If you can't find a way to get Fyfe in, go Rich to Fyfe and then wait to get Rockliff in via rookie. Also, If you want to be impatient like most of us, trade a Newnes or Lumumba to a trusty Defender like McDonald or Murphy.

Jack · 04/05/2015 at 08:06

Trading out Lycett, who is the best ruck to bring in? Can afford all except Goldy.
Options are: Martin, Blicavs, Grundy, Mumford, Ryder, Jacobs.

    Traderlyf · 06/05/2015 at 21:32

Sean · 04/05/2015 at 08:09

Who is the best ruck to bring in out of:
Blicavs, Grundy, Mumford, Ryder, Jacobs

    Ethan · 04/05/2015 at 09:10

my pick would be blicavs. followed by ryder depedning if you have bellchambers for the swing

jimmy · 04/05/2015 at 08:12

What is going on with Brodie Smith?

    SCaddict · 04/05/2015 at 14:14

Getting nice and cheap for those who don't have him is what's going on! Should be sub $400K in another fortnight.

Just one of many afflicted by 'curse of the premo defender' this season.

nathan · 04/05/2015 at 08:54

Bringing in jpk and goldy this week using most of my warchest
But next week out goes mcintosh and Salem
Both should make B/E this week and have a high one next week that will stretch them
Both downgrades

Swans2012 · 04/05/2015 at 09:10

Spending some $$$ this week….

T hunt to McDonald- reckon he might be the real deal this year, has scored well even with small disposal numbers, cannot deny him any longer.

Salem to Ziebell- will eventually be an m9/f7 loopholer as a worst case scenario, at best continues his 100 average (not including injured 4) and is a good cheap f5f6.

Leaves 80k in the kick to be added to by the Mckenzie / Glenn double downgrade next week.

    derek · 04/05/2015 at 10:45

I don't consider either McDonald or Ziebell to be premium keepers. I think for both, you will need to make a further trade up later in year, thus burning two more trades.

      Swans2012 · 04/05/2015 at 12:03

Time will tell, I think at some point you’ve gotta start putting some faith in this years form for the defenders, McDonald is scoring big numbers from small disposal numbers (suggesting to me that he may be able to keep this up). I like that he is not relying on ridiculous high mark quantities or unsustainable tackle numbers, just plain good quality footy. he’s in the right age bracket, and well, to me he is the best defensive option this week. Last chance to get him less than 500k for a month or two imo and will be top 10 at worst.

        Swans2012 · 04/05/2015 at 12:04

And Ziebell as I stated, best case f5f6, worst case m9f7 loophole fodder. Just too cheap to ignore and I honestly think it might be his year.

      Swans2012 · 04/05/2015 at 12:06

And one last point, at some stage if you want to have a crack at a high ranking you need to try to pick some of these sort of guys rather than wait with the masses for the “true” premos to appear.

      Swans2012 · 04/05/2015 at 12:07

Now after that tirade watch them both score 27 and be suspended for 6 weeks

        derek · 04/05/2015 at 13:38

I had a place in my starting team at F4 for a mid-pricer. I had considered Ziebell for that spot, not sure why I went off him, maybe NAB form. I should have gone the Bont, but was $300 short, so I went for (and I'm almost embaressed to say this0 travis Cloke. So I'm no expert 😉

McDonald reminds me of terlich from a few years ago. Stayed in my team all year!

          Swans2012 · 04/05/2015 at 13:58

Geese I think your selling him McDonald short, I don’t remember Terlich banging out 5 scores over 95 in a row, not to mention three of them over 120. And Ziebell who knows I just hope he stops using his body as a battering ram.
But yeaH this is the week I either make ground or fall further behind. Haven’t had a decent score yet and hovering in the 8ks so gotta try something.

Jdogg · 04/05/2015 at 09:27

Looking at the following this week:

Griffin to Pendles

Heeney to D.McKenzie

    jacob · 04/05/2015 at 10:32

Solid trades. Though wait on heeney to mackenzie untill McKenzies on the bubble. And by doing that you can use loophole on heeney who I doubt will play this weekend.

      Jdogg · 04/05/2015 at 11:11

good points. I need to do a double trade though for cash reasons. Will get rid of Salem instead. I think that fruit is ready to be picked.

        mcleal10 · 04/05/2015 at 18:49

Yeah seems alright mate. Hope the Griff doesn't turn around and bite you.

General Soreness · 04/05/2015 at 09:33

Podcast was mint gents.

Not only for the sage advice delivered at the appropriate thyme.

But for providing enough sage advice for people with teams that are peppered with underperforming premo's to mustard up the courage to have one fennel crack.

    Sarah · 04/05/2015 at 13:41

Hi General, we might have to concede soon we got the Beams to Sloane trade wrong…

      General Soreness · 04/05/2015 at 14:24

Let those who judge, judge in the light of a full season. 🙂

Sarah · 04/05/2015 at 09:35

Almost falling out of the top 10,000! Not where I'd hoped to be after 5 rounds.

So after two downgrades last week, it's two upgrades for me this week:

Salem to Goddard

Hopefully, that can get me rolling up to the top 100… fingers crossed!

While I'd love to get rid of Griffin, I think he'll become my Ablett fodder if and when the great man returns to the field and returns to form.

    TOPHAWK1 · 04/05/2015 at 10:08

I am ranked # 11363! And I am not impressed. LOL

My team is not far away from clicking I think. I have Newnes and Griffin and want to desperately move them on right now but I know it would be a wrong move in the grand scheme of things. Griffen will be Gaz or Rocky fodder allright. hehe

I am going to watch Daniel Mc Kenzie (DEF/MID) and Tom Mitchell as they are both playing their second games this week. Mc Kenzie scored 63 on debut and he could be a handy def-mid swingman and cash generating rookie going into the byes.

Tom Mitchell played a great game in the wet and scored 114. If he cranks out another 100+ score this week he would be a steal at only 405K.

I can afford Franklin if I dump Walker. One trade this week. I dont see this as a sideway trade. Franklin is a keeper from here. I think his price has bottomed and could go big from here. Dees next round. It just makes sense to make the switch now as I dont see Walker going on with it.

      derek · 04/05/2015 at 10:49

Mitchell is a trap! his game was perfectly suited to last weekends wet weather. His JS is still poor.

Franklin is a keeper, but I think you can still get him cheaper. I am getting in goddard this week, he is at a low point.

        Swans2012 · 04/05/2015 at 12:10

Agree Mitchell awkwardly priced for a fringe player….

      Sarah · 04/05/2015 at 11:25

I wouldn't trade in Mitchell either at this stage. Burnt me badly last year. The guy has only played 20-odd games and has very poor job security. He looks tempting, but like Derek said, it's a trap!!

Keep an eye on Glenn from GC too next week. I'm thinking next week might be another double downgrade week.

        Locked and Loaded · 04/05/2015 at 14:57

Im ranked about 6000 and lucky to be there my backline looks like Hurley's hairstyle (Im a dons fan loll). Toug trades are needed back in your knowledge and your gut and do what you think is right. Walker is still a great POD in my opinion. Griffen as an M8 is fairly solid and I watched Newnes closely yesterday I am making a big call in saying that he will average 90-100 second half of the year and as a D6 thats priceless. Watch this space

      Girdle · 05/05/2015 at 04:20

You’re still ahead of Jock and Lekdog

tom · 04/05/2015 at 09:59

is McIntosh to Birchal/Enright/Taylor a good trade this week?

    tom · 04/05/2015 at 10:02

is it too early to upgrade McIntosh? BE of 40 I dont think he will make much more cash

      derek · 04/05/2015 at 10:52

good trade. We are going to have to start culling the cows, and there are a lot fattening up at the same time, can't kill them all at once, so not a bad idea. McKenzie has come along at the perfect time as well for us to downgrade to.

Honky · 04/05/2015 at 10:03

T. Mitchell scored well even with 50% disposal efficiency.

Griffen to Mitchell save 90k.

    derek · 04/05/2015 at 10:53

    he is a trap.

    Holty · 04/05/2015 at 11:34

If he keeps his spot I'll grab him soon but to early to be certain of his job security. There is obviously something about him that Sydney's coaching staff doesn't rate as he would of started at the beginning of the season. He has always been a gun and would start in any other side. The question is, 'If Sydney rated him, why didn't he start at the beginning of the season?' I'd hold fire just for a bit longer.

      Wayno's cousin · 04/05/2015 at 14:11

      no job security…..

Jeremy · 04/05/2015 at 10:09

Looking at three options this week.

1. Hold and give the cows another week to fatten

2. Bellchambers out for Blicavs/Grundy

3. Salem out for Taylor Adams.

Going pretty strongly so I have no other glaring issues. Hesitant on the trade options above as I can’t see Adams quite being a top-8 mid, or Blicavs/Grundy top-3 rucks.

Someone want to convince me otherwise?

    derek · 04/05/2015 at 10:55

you will have to start killing your cash cows soon, and we don't have many trades to do it.

I have at least 8 cash cows I want to cull over the next 2-4 weeks, that will take all my trades, so hoping there are no injuries/suspensions etc to get in the way for some fence painting

    Brad · 04/05/2015 at 12:35

Do you see Adams being a top 6 forward? Remember he is fwd/mid

      Jeremy · 04/05/2015 at 12:59

Whoops I meant forward, not mid as obviously there is 0% chance of him being a top 8 mid

        Brad · 04/05/2015 at 13:05

Personally I wouldn’t be looking to get him in now, I got him in before his price jumped and he will be one of the last upgrades I do to my team as he is playing very well

      derek · 04/05/2015 at 13:45

my top 6 Forwards would be, Gray, Buddy, Goddard, bartel, Dusty, Swan.

I only have 3 of them, plan is to get the others later, starting with goddard this week, buddy over the Byes and Bartel once he is back and fit.

        Deadly · 04/05/2015 at 17:45

Maybe Bonts/Ryder same as Bartel as F6

    Youngster · 04/05/2015 at 12:35

If you're trading up, make sure he's a season keeper that you expect to be in the top bracket of players for that position. No point trading a player you don't fully trust, no point stuffing around. Premos or cash cows, it's that simple.

    mcleal10 · 04/05/2015 at 18:29

Adams isn't top 8 for me.
Gray, Martin, Buddy, Goddard, Swan, J Kennedy, Bennell, Dahlhaus and Harvey are my predictions.

Pinidu.C · 04/05/2015 at 10:14

I have 200K in the bank and R.Griffen and D.Rich in my midfield. Also I have only 23 trades left. Rich has a BE of around 90 and Griffen 111. Should I trade one of them or both and if so…who to? I already have PENDLEBURY, Fyfe and Lewis in my mids and Swan, Martin and Gray in my forward line.

Thanks for your help

    Andy · 04/05/2015 at 11:00

I’m considering going Rich to Hanners. We paid mid 300k for Rich and he has made us some money with not much more to make.

Griffin has been up and down (like he was in his breakout SC year) and in theory should score above 100 this week going by his performances this year. So I would hold Griffin and trade Rich.

I wouldn’t be trading for the sake of trading. If you need to eg injuries, upgrading or a bargain is to be had, then yes trade. But remember how valuable those trades are at the end of the year. Trades essentially won me a premiership last year when others had used up their trades.

      Pinidu.C · 04/05/2015 at 12:30

      Thanks a lot Andy

Bailey · 04/05/2015 at 10:20

who is the one person we should be trading in this week?

    derek · 04/05/2015 at 10:56

Goddard is ready for my team.

      Youngster · 04/05/2015 at 12:38

Who are you trading out for Goddard?

        derek · 04/05/2015 at 13:47

I started with Cloke, he has shown some good signs, but the longer he is in my team the closer he is to a 23Sc week.

    SCaddict · 04/05/2015 at 14:22

I agree with Derek. If you need a forward this week look no further than BJ Floghard.

I'll be upgrading Salem to him this week and then probably bringing in Gray next week as I start making good use of my $1M war chest.

Matt · 04/05/2015 at 10:35

Thoughts on Dangerfield? only 522 K

    derek · 04/05/2015 at 10:57

too much talent in the crows midfield with Thompson there taking points from Sloane and Dangerfield.

crows have a great run coming up though

      Rosy · 04/05/2015 at 11:13

Danger leads Sloane and Thompson in contested possies, clearances and goals kicked. His disposal efficiency is killing him right now at sub 60%

        derek · 04/05/2015 at 13:48

Thompson is probably effecting NVB and B Smith as well.

CEY is taking points as well.

          RooBoy · 04/05/2015 at 18:30

I like the Danger selection and if Lewis gets an extended holiday I'm seriously considering a straight swap.
Crows have a dream run from here including Rds 20,21 and 22 (league win), he got plenty of the ball at the weekend, we already know he can go big and R Douglas out for 6-8 now means he plays more in the middle.

Rosy · 04/05/2015 at 10:38

Griffen is simply not the player he used to be. He is now surrounded by other young premos who are dominating the pill. He may just reach his BE this week but that is all he'll do for the rest of the season: just eek his way through. Dropping him for a real premo IS NOT a sideways trade and you'd rather do it now rather than later when he's cost you more games. HE WILL NOT BE FINALS WORTHY.

    derek · 04/05/2015 at 10:59

you know what is going to happen as soon as you trade him out don't you??!

      Rosy · 04/05/2015 at 11:06

Hehehe yeah he'll go large. But it will be an outlier on his graph, an exception. There are many other players who going large regularly this year so far. Some of them in his team.

        PADP · 05/05/2015 at 16:51

Griffin =189 points in final game of 2014

          Rosy · 07/05/2015 at 12:03

Mate seriously, how is that a relevant statement? He's playing for another team this year and has a completely new role within that team – which is clear from his output. He's is running in completely different patterns than last year. He wont be going 150+ at GWS unless they are missing numerous other key midfielders and has to shoulder their load.

Pinidu.C · 04/05/2015 at 10:38

What do I do with DANIEL RICH!!

    derek · 04/05/2015 at 11:01

take the cash! Brisbane are not a very good football team, even with rocky. They will struggle to Supercoach score points this year. Beams and rocky are good enough to take the SC points on offer, but Rich will be a 80-90Sc scorer from here on.

    mcleal10 · 04/05/2015 at 18:29

    Hold one more than Rocky.

Rosy · 04/05/2015 at 10:55

I'm holding him until his bye round. He's got the woeful Blues this week and his last two games leading into his byes are the Saints and Giants. Could be big games for him. BE of 86. I think he could be around the $450k+ mark by round 11.

Bluetackle · 04/05/2015 at 11:03

Nic Nat and Maric are hurting me every week, i've got 27 trades atm and 450k in the bank, should i just go for it and trade them both for Goldy and Stef Martin just so i don't have to think about my rucks again all year. Only other issue in my side is Newnes and none of the premo backs appeal to me yet.

Liam · 04/05/2015 at 13:09

Great stuff boys
Just want to hear your thoughts on these trades
Newnes to d.Mckenzie
heeney to priddis

    CashCows · 04/05/2015 at 13:39

I’m gonna say these are bad trades.
Mckenzie can get dropped any week, at least wait till he’s on the bubble. I know you might be trying to get ahead of the curve and bringing him earlier which is fine but at this point you have to stick with newnes, he’ll play and get you that 70 odd.
Instead if you need the cash, burn maybe mcintosh if you want mckenzie.

Heeney can still make his breakeven and a loophole option if he’s not playing. With no real downgrade options, might just need to hold onto him.

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 14:15

    Heeney to Priddis = like
    Newnes to McKenzie dislike

    hold newnes
    trade someone else out

think why you brought newnes in the first place.

      Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 14:15

further to that. if you can. hold and wait on McKenzie / J.Glenn

Dilemma, conundrums and a general case of NFI what to do………………….I currently sit at 683rd overall in the AFL DT comp (484 points off 1st) In the league that matters I along with one other sit undefeated!

Add to that I have Jordan Lewis and Luke Hodge, both of whom IMHO will each receive a minimum 2 week expenses paid holiday! I have Newnes and Treloar both of whom I was intending on moving on. Looking at a consensus of opinion what are community thoughts on which direction I should take…….Chase the points and maintain/improve current ranking or, I'm too far away from top anyways, focus on the league? (financial and reputation investment at stake)

Appreciate the wise words of the community. Actually i'd love to know what Peter Higgo, Jock and Crouching One would make of this?

Cheers all

Go for glory…overall glory that is… Still early days.

    CashCows · 04/05/2015 at 13:42

Go for rank. Still early in the season, there’s plenty of time to move up even if someone was in the 10,000s. Having said that, don’t do stupid trades. May need to take a hit or two in the ranks for a couple but hold if you can.

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 14:10

    Hold all 4

wait and see the tribunal result but regardless unless someone gets more than 3 weeks hold hold hold

    Harry · 04/05/2015 at 14:32

I have Treloar too and whilst a shocking output last week, I plan to hold. He's still winning a lot of the football which is the good sign so if he improves his efficiency he'll be back up in the numbers. I'd be more worried if he couldn't get a kick

Jayden · 04/05/2015 at 13:13

I don't have fyfe, is he a must to bring in for vanberlo, or do I look for value in JPK?

    derek · 04/05/2015 at 13:52

I watched him play on weekend and he is very close to a must have. he spent almost the entire 4th quarter on the wing or full forward, he should have gone 150+

The only doubt is Ross Lyon. Freo are 5-0 and I can almost read Ross's mind…..give the lad a rest!

    craig · 04/05/2015 at 14:02

Yes, Fyfe is a must have. If you can afford to bring him in for Van Berlo then do so. You'll probably be using all your $$$ which would be the only down side, but injury aside, Fyfe and Pendles will probably be top 3 players at season end.

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 14:07

    Shark V Shoal mate

Is your POD not having FYFE?

If you can justify it then do it

But if you have no plan then get him in.

would waiting on Rockliff and say Priddis to bottom out = more points than FYFE?

    or have all 3

whatever you do stick to your structures and no sideways trading

    Harry · 04/05/2015 at 14:33

Guys need some advice on my mids.

I have Griff, Swallow and Rich with 305k in the bank and 26 trades. Not sure whether to hang onto Griff and Rich because of their draws and it could be premature to get rid of them now. Swallow I'm not so sure but even after being subbed out and knocked about still managed an 83. Mids are currently Fyfe, JPK, Beams, Rich, Swallow, Griffen, all the right rooks. Do I…

A – Go Swallow/Griff and Rich to Pendles and Gray to beef up my mids
B – Hold Rich and just go straight swap Swallow/Griff to Pendles
C – Hold and save the trades for Salem, Hogan etc in the coming weeks?

Cheers guys

personally the round 13 bye is more a killer for me

      derek · 04/05/2015 at 15:08

in previous years, I just sacrificed 1 week of the byes as a loss in all leagues, as long as I did ok in the other two weeks. My strategy this year is overall rank, currently around 4k, so will have to worry about byes this year.

2: what to do with Salem? Could go to a goodard but really want money in the bank. Who else is there.
Need your help community

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 14:23

    Keep Newnes
Look to trade SALEM down at this stage to a rookie

    build up the warchest

    SCaddict · 04/05/2015 at 14:56

I got rid of Newnes for the rookie Kelly last week but given there are no appealing rookie defenders on the bubble this week I reckon you have to hold him now.

Probably only has another $20-30K to lose now anyway.

Brodie Smith could be about Newne's Price in another fortnight so you could potentially consider a sideways then.

Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 14:22

I am thinking the following
Swing HIGGINS into the FWD line.
Trade SALEM out and bring McKENZIE into the DEF line.

Then wait till Thursday teams and if GLENN is named again trade out someone like HEENEY if he is still injured or J.NELSON who has only appreciated 50k but wasn't named last week.

Should HEENEY and NELSON play, hold out on any other trades until next week.

My reasoning behind pulling the trigger early on MCKENZIE is i believe he has good job security.

also, having HIGGINS in my FWD line will allow me to swing him back into DEF when i want to upgrade a FWD line player to RYDER.

any and all thoughts welcome

    SCaddict · 04/05/2015 at 14:45

Give Glenn another week if you can. Always best to wait for all rookies to be on the bubble no matter how impressive their debut.

Heeney should be a strong chance of playing this weekend. He was only rested last week to make sure that ankle tweak fully recovered for their prize recruit. Horse loves the kid.

      Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 14:48

thanks for the word on Heeney
      fingers crossed he gets up

    Sarah · 04/05/2015 at 14:45

I'd like to know why you think McKenzie has good JS when he was only able to get into the team in round 5?

      Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 14:50

      hey sarah
i like McKenzie because he tested at the draft combine as one of the best athletes.

St.Kilda will be doing a lot of defending and if he keeps fit, he is the sort of player they will need rebounding out of defence / in the guts.

Can be played in a tagging role too, which wont = as many points but warm body on field and used as a downgrade = win.

just have to wait and see if he gets selected this thursday night

        Sarah · 04/05/2015 at 15:01

        Cheers Wheels.
All good reasons. I sure hope he stays in the team.
I personally will be waiting til he's on the bubble!!

          Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 15:03

i would like to do the same

just cant think of who to trade for Salem

unless i hold salem and make no trades this week?

            derek · 04/05/2015 at 15:12

webster played on the weekend as well. Was this his first game of the year?

              Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 15:15

Jimmy Webster for St Kilda pleyed. scored 60 but is 355 k = too expensive
              Zac Webster for Hawks DNP

                derek · 04/05/2015 at 16:10

I was just making comment about McKenzie JS.

            Sarah · 04/05/2015 at 16:05

Holding isn't a bad option. Salem's BE is 42, he should get it.
I've traded Salem for Goddard this week.

              Wheels1987 · 05/05/2015 at 08:01

              im thinking Salem for Ryder

          SC Virgin · 05/05/2015 at 14:49

Sarah I thought u said u were reading Salem last week?

            Sarah · 05/05/2015 at 15:12

            Hi SC Virgin,
I was absolutely trading Salem last week, that was until Clark and Lycett were dropped from my forward line. With Lamb already on my bench it meant I couldn't afford to trade Salem as he was playing and I already had 3 guys out. So ended up trading Lycett and Heeney which wasn't the initial plan.
Hopefully this weeks plan doesn't have a spanner thrown into it come Thursday night!!

          SC Virgin · 06/05/2015 at 21:02

Ahh I see we r nothing if not adaptable, gotta roll with the punches.

Locked and Loaded · 04/05/2015 at 14:24

I understand about upgrading backs last although… If you are in a position to upgrade a defender i.e. Mcintosh and your rookies in other areas are not yet fat enough to cull wouldn't you upgrade where it makes most sense to at present??

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 14:26

No DEF line rookies have fattened up enough.
why trade Mcintosh when he could easilly pull another 80+ game??

    Wheels1987 · 04/05/2015 at 14:27

plus wait one more week and you could downgrade Mcintosh to McKenzie, then get a full premo MID or FWD

that should relieve your point scoring worries

      derek · 04/05/2015 at 15:13

Not jumping on McKenzie yet. Wait another week, we might find Goddard or Hamling get named in the next two weeks.

Locked and Loaded · 04/05/2015 at 14:36

Theres a certain defender I want now before they raise in price again thats all it is and by upgrading Mcintosh now I won't miss on him. In saying that defenders have been so inconsistent I could hope for an off week from Bachar.

    Locked and Loaded · 04/05/2015 at 14:37

But I do hear ya Wheels and it makes most sense yes

Charlesy · 04/05/2015 at 14:50

Hi Community, if you have time to consider this idea for my team id appreciate your thoughts. In short : out Goodes in McKenzie then I want to slaughter Salem and bring in a 5th forward Premo. I have two ideas. 1. Salem to Goddard or 2. Salem to Ryder. I have goldy and Bellchambers in the ruck so this opens up the Ryder/Bellchambers ruck coverage early in the season. On the other hand having Goddard locked in with Gray buddy Martin and Swan means with a little luck my forward line is nearly full premo already. Thoughts? There is a prize of a $300,000 yacht for the best answer! ( maybe)

    derek · 04/05/2015 at 15:20

Are you really serious about getting Ryder in your team. Effectively he will be your R2. There are better options than him! You need a lone wolf ruck. Sauce or Mummy?

I assume you have a RUC/FWD DDP player at R3, you can trade Salem for Mummy by swinging TBC into forward line. Still have cover via your R3 DDP.

    Sarah · 04/05/2015 at 16:08

I agree with Derek, Upgrade Salem to a bonafide second ruck, allowing Bellchambers to be benched in the forward line eventually purely as backup. Mummy is at a nice price!

      derek · 04/05/2015 at 16:11

I'll share the yacht with you sarah !

        Sarah · 04/05/2015 at 16:17

        Cheers Derek!!

          Charlesy · 04/05/2015 at 16:32

A yacht each! Thanks Derek and Sarah. This is my third season and I keep improving mainly due to advice like this. Cheers

Tom · 04/05/2015 at 14:52

pendlebury or shiel?

    Charlesy · 04/05/2015 at 15:04

Dependlebury mate. Always plays and super consistent scores. Good captain option too

    derek · 04/05/2015 at 15:21

    Pendlebury by a fair margin

    Sarah · 04/05/2015 at 16:08

    mcleal10 · 04/05/2015 at 18:17

Pendles is too consistent to overlook. I have Shiels, whom is a great POD but you can't not have Pendles.

Rick · 04/05/2015 at 15:20

I have decided to trade newnes to enright and lamber to glenn. I will keep lewis and have the Emergency on Vandanberg, Heeney and Glenn. One of those rookies will score over 90 so I should be good. I only have 300 dollars in the kitty though with these trades. I am hoping steve johnson will score 100+ against collingwood so I can downgrade rich to stevie who has been flying under the radar. I then might dispose of mcintosh and put a rookie in. Maybe mckenzie. Then upgrade salem to a premium. Thought for this 2-3 week plan?

SuperCoach Kid · 04/05/2015 at 15:57

thinking of doing the double sideways trade this week due to injury and lack of scoring

350k in the bank
Newnes >>> Tom Macdonald
Kelly >>> Bob Murphy or Harry Taylor

Marco_Polo94 · 04/05/2015 at 16:31

Terrific pod full of wisdom and humour, always makes my Monday seem better! Happy I backed seedsman in last week and picked him. Scored 90 in something like 2 and a half quarters of football and his sub vest was only precautionary. I too will be jumping on the Salem – Goddard train this week. After that it will just be stick to my trading plan until the byes. When creating my plan i did however run into a little bump and was hoping someone could clarify what i should do. When downgrading a cash cow, would we downgrade to either a) a donut, b) a slightly elevated priced rookie or c) rookie yet to go up. Obviously finding c's would be stupendous and make my life easy but surely there won't be that many rookies like that. Most good ones will have already played and shot up in price. So do we bring in cheap donuts or 150-200 k rookies? Or should we just downgrade even before round 11 to types like McKenzie who offer some decent job security? I'm really confused about this as the only rookie i see myself bringing in who will score points is Lambert when he is fully recovered. Cheers community!

    Darren_Bewick · 04/05/2015 at 23:13

There will be more juicy cows my friend. Remember Zorko in his rookie year! Josh Glenn hit the ton for the Suns this week so could be on the bubble with a huge breakeven next week. The teams that are going poorly will blood more and more rookies as the season progresses and the injuries mount up for teams good and bad. You're right that there won't always be succulent beef available just the round you want to but this can be helped by remaining flexible with your warchest and DPP's.

Great call on Seedsman. Contemplated Goddard but ultimately think i'm going with JPK in a forward/mid swap. As a Dons fan I don't like having too many players from my team. Only Bellchambers so far this year.

Mac · 04/05/2015 at 16:33

Goodes to McKenzie and Salem to Bont?

Jai · 04/05/2015 at 16:34

Jock, community I need your help what do I do with rookies that arnt playing I have Goddard (stk) read(Geel) lambert(rich)

    Ryan · 04/05/2015 at 22:44

Keep read, no ruck rookies, lambert may come back after injury so hold, maybe goddard to Mckenzie also at Saint swould be the move

Liam · 04/05/2015 at 17:32

Is rich to heeney a good trade?

Would still have 100k in the warchest

    Liam · 04/05/2015 at 17:34

    Meant rich to priddis sorry

      mcleal10 · 04/05/2015 at 18:16

It's definitely a strong POD. I'd personally hold for another week or so and wait for Rockliff and do a straight swap.

Jack · 04/05/2015 at 17:42

what to do with hodge and lewis????

    Papa · 06/05/2015 at 17:41

I would say trade both hodge and Lewis (if you're willing to spend two trades and have nowhere else to cover eg:injuries) I would get rid of hodge To get in Shaw, Rance, Bachar
As for Lewis I would go Lewis-Lauchy Neale, hannebry, Mundy or Shiel.
If you want to hold you could probably go Lewis-rocky in a few rounds and make a bit of money

Mister_Spock · 04/05/2015 at 17:57

Is it time to dump the Newnes experiment and bring in McDonald? TMac looking like a top 5 defender early in the season

Billy the kid · 04/05/2015 at 18:19

hey all would love a hand for my next few trades please !
def : shaw, oxley, mciintosh, saad, newnes, henderson (goodes, hamling)
mid: fyfe, heppel, kennedy, griffen, beams, ellis yolmen, cripps, vandenberg, (miller, heeney, kraker)
rucks: goldy, mummy (nankervis)
for: gray, swan, salem, bennel, hogan, christensen, (tarrant, clark)

i have 198k in the bank and 26 trades left !
thank you all in advance

Rick · 04/05/2015 at 19:22

I had hugh goddard on field with mcintosh and oxley as emergencies. I tried to use this strategy because I thought if you have 2 emergencies, it would give you the one with the highest score. Giving me an edge. I am really confused. Does it give you the lowest?

    Bradc · 04/05/2015 at 19:35

Yeah, if you have more than one emergency listed for a position, it will use you lowest scoring one.

Danny · 04/05/2015 at 20:06

Can Ziebell hold down F4-F5? I'm thinking he can

    SC Virgin · 05/05/2015 at 14:54

Nah Gray, buddy; Martin, swan, Goddard, perhaps even the boat on current for all ahead of him

BennyGan · 04/05/2015 at 21:18

Hey lads, I'm upgrading Salem to JPK this week, but I'm considering moving on Newnes or Hibbo as well. Just like to get some thoughts on whether I should hold these two because to be honest there isn't really a premo defender at the moment I trust. I still don't believe in MacDonald, anyone have any proven defenders that I should consider.

    SC Virgin · 05/05/2015 at 14:59

Think u answered your own question. HOLD

Dee · 05/05/2015 at 00:14

JPK or Parker??

    SC Virgin · 05/05/2015 at 14:56

On form JPK but hoping Parker as I started with him but don’t discount Hannas either

    Papa · 06/05/2015 at 17:29

Definitely jpk, could finish one of the best mids this year same as last, I wouldn't look at Parker until he can show some form, so far he hasn't ever broken the 100 barrier. I've been very tempted to trade out Parker to someone like Shiel or hannebry with my extra cash in the bank. But I do have faith in Parker and think he might even get past the 100 barrier V melbourne

Tom.McV · 05/05/2015 at 09:09

who do I trade in for Sloane?
mid is Pendles, Fyfe, Parker, lewis, Sloane, rich, CEY, Vandenberg

    SC Virgin · 05/05/2015 at 14:58

Why trade sloane? Would go Lewis before Sloane to Ward or JPK

    Danners16 · 07/05/2015 at 13:00

Hold Sloane he will get better

Jono · 05/05/2015 at 15:48

Thoughts about getting in patty ryder as my second ruckman ??

    Jono · 05/05/2015 at 15:57

Or even sandilands down at 470 k ?
    Help would be appreciated thanks

Brett · 05/05/2015 at 19:27

Build up the warchest and go BELLCHAMBERS to BLICAVS?
Have 450k in the bank.

    Traderlyf · 06/05/2015 at 21:29

    definately goldy

Tim · 06/05/2015 at 14:47

Going crazy about whether or not to trade this week
Appreciate some help
$17,600 in bank / 25 Trades Remaining
Def: H Shaw, Oxley, Lumumba, Saad, Gibson, Newnes (McIntosh, Hamling)
Mids: Fyfe, Shiel, Dangerfield, Priddis, Rich, Griffen, Gray, Ellis-Yolem (Vendenberg, Miller, Krakouer)
Rucks: Blicavs, Bellchambers (T Read)
Fwds: Swan, Roughead, Martin, Bont, Hogan, Tarrant (Salem, Clark)

Going down: Roughead to drop about $38,800, Swan $19,000, Lumumba $18,000, Newnes $15,000, Griffen 6,000, Rich $1,000

    Kev · 07/05/2015 at 08:41

Looks fine to me, Tim. Your "going down" section is nothing to worry about, Roughy and Swan are season long keepers, I hate saying it but so is the Prince.

Newnes/Griff/Rich aren't setting the world on fire but they aren't facing big drops. I'd look at moving Rich on soon as he was always a stepping stone player. If you downgrade him to a rookie (Glenn maybe) use the cash to upgrade Newnes to a keeper

      Tim · 07/05/2015 at 18:05

      Thanks Kev.
I pulled the trigger on two trades:
      Rich to Pendles; and
      Lumumba to McKenzie.
      Next week Salem to Goddard.

Flynn · 06/05/2015 at 17:07

Hi Community. I am currently ranked 60th overall and am looking to improve on my rank or at least stay in the top 100. I have Jordan Lewis, who is suspended for two weeks. Should I trade or keep him? I only have heeney as back up. If so, who should I consider?

    H bomb · 06/05/2015 at 20:14

You need to trade him. If you’re going for overall take this opportunity to either trade down or move sideways. Pick the best mid you don’t have in my opinion. Points = rank at the end of the day.

      H bomb · 06/05/2015 at 20:18

      Pendlebury or Gray.

    SCOTLAND THE BRAVE · 06/05/2015 at 21:10

AGREE 60th if u r a chance overall you gotta go hell for leather – Imoa if you have Pendles, fyfe etc in the mids a sneaky POD would be Heppell. But you are 60th so go with your gut but Lewis has to go if you are chasing number one

Papa · 06/05/2015 at 17:25

Hello community, does anyone know when I should pick up Rockliff at his cheapest and what roughly will he drop too? Will he drop to around 400/450k. If so I could do a trade eg: cey-rocky Or. Cripps-rocky

    Kev · 07/05/2015 at 08:34

Keep an eye on his breakeven, Papa. He is projected to lose 108k this week based on his average of 42 so far. If he comes out and scores 150 the drop will obviously be less and that 150 will be in his 3 week rolling average. IMO he will drop to around the 480-500k mark

cmcg1960 · 06/05/2015 at 19:34

is TBC to Ryder a good trade?

    Kev · 07/05/2015 at 08:36

It's not bad cmcg, it's not essential either. You could squeeze a bit more cash out of TBC as Ryder b.e is slightly higher than his average this week. You won't lose out on much if you hold off

    Danners16 · 07/05/2015 at 12:59

Yes if he is your backup ruck

Jordan · 06/05/2015 at 20:07

Has anyone noticed Mitch Golby? 314,000 with an average of 90. I need to get rid of Hodge so do I get Golby to make some cash or a premium defender?

    Kev · 07/05/2015 at 08:28

If you have the right rookies the cash will come mate, be patient. Go premium to premium if you can

Brookesy · 07/05/2015 at 00:02

Would love to get some thoughts. My original plan was to not trade this week (I have 24 trades left thanks mainly to LTIs), and then bring in MacKenzie and Glenn next week for Newnes and Salem, then do a double upgrade (possibly Sloane and a forward) the following week.
However, it seems Newnes will drop in cash and I am sorely tempted to go Newnes to Mackenzie (jumping the gun, but I have Saad, Oxley and McIntosh as D6-8) and Salem to Dahlhaus this week, which will let me go Hogan to Glenn (through swinging Gray to the fwds) and then Vandenburg (or Lonie, if he makes enough cash), through swinging Krakouer into my fwds, to Sloane (as long as he has played and dropped in value).
I know that I am not maximising my profit potential for my rookies (especially Vandenburg) but maybe this is being offset through bringing in two keepers, potentially scoring better and creating a stronger team more expediently.
What do you think?

Supertroopers · 07/05/2015 at 10:06

Ryder or goddard? I have no ruck back up at the moment with Nic Nat & goldy. I’m considering bringing in McEvoy in a few weeks as ruck cover. However Goddards price I believe has bottomed out

    Danners16 · 07/05/2015 at 12:58

Ryder if you don't have ruck backup

Holty · 07/05/2015 at 10:37

I think I'll bite the bullet this week and make the risky trade to bring in Picken. I know he isn't proven but I cant ignore 2 x 30+ posession games. It seems he has taken Libba's job and hopefully has lost his tagging role. Who to trade out though.
Hunt, Lumumba or Newnes?

    Rosy · 07/05/2015 at 12:14

I've traded out Newnes because six rounds in and he's not doing the job of a B1-3 and he's not a cash cow either. So really has no place in my backline. If you're holding him just to save trades then fair enough but now is the perfect time to go sideways to backmen who are showing something. Picken is a very ballsy move though. Historically Picken has never been worth it.

      Holty · 07/05/2015 at 13:50

True Rosy, thanks for the advice. It is a risk but if I want a crack at the $50000, I need to take that risk. None of the top teams have him so POD. No point grabbing Mcdonald and co at present bcos all the top teams have them. I'm just hoping he will be left to run free like the last 2 weeks. If he goes back to his tagging role, well back to his 70-80s and a very silly trade I've made

God · 07/05/2015 at 11:29

Need to get pendles in my team and have lewis and sloane, but they are keeps so i dont want to trade them out. surely upgrading griffin to pendles is a valid trade. I dont think griffen is finals relevant any way? Who should I upgrade out of Griffen and Rich? or should i hold on for upcoming rookies to trade out?

    Rosy · 07/05/2015 at 12:24

I'd trade Griffen. He's clearly not doing the same job that he had at WB. He's surrounded by gun youngsters and is running in totally different patterns. If you're keeping Griffen, you'll need him to be a top 10 middie – which he wont be. if you're keeping Rich, you'll need him to retain his value until the bye rounds – which he can do.

      God · 07/05/2015 at 12:27

      Cheers mate appreciate the feedback

    Tofor · 07/05/2015 at 13:50

I'm in the exact same boat as you. Got Rich (ready to trade) and Griffin (never going to be ready to produce desired output).
Got Lewis on the pine, so need premium output and Pendles is the answer.
I traded Rich out (thinking he's peaked), but may reverse and go to Griffin out. Tough call…

Krazee-Eyez Killa · 07/05/2015 at 17:18

Open to opinions.

Have decided to move on Rich and Griffen and bring in Pendles and J Glenn. Banking 400k in the process.
Got fyfe, Sloane, gray, JPK etc. plus all the cash cows.

I figure Rich has peaked price wise and Griffen is just annoying and surrounded by gun kids who are outplaying him.

Currently ranked 1797 after dropping 1500 spots last week thanks to Captain Sloane
