Will ‘skin flute’ Minson has to go this week to avoid another donut. I have Goldstein and plenty of cash, who should I trade in? Martin, Blivcas or Maric?

      Leon · 01/05/2015 at 08:12

If I had the opportunity I would go martin every day of the week. maric if money is a issue, not sure blivcas can keep this up.

      Matt · 01/05/2015 at 08:19

I have the same issue Chelsea. My worry with Martin is that when/if luey comes back in it will see his scores drop. I’m not sure if he’s worth that risk. I think Maric might be the safer option

        Swans2012 · 01/05/2015 at 11:28

Martin scores a lot of points around the ground so I’d think he “should” still score well with luenhamandeggenberger in the team

      Cozza · 01/05/2015 at 10:17

Blivcas is a massive POD – and has been very impressive so far. Maybe chasing the points by picking him, but they have big wraps on him at cat land. Shark move the Blivcas call.

Worth bringing in Lukas Webb for Tom Lamb? Or waste of a trade

    Lach · 30/04/2015 at 21:52

Trade lamb for Tarrant. That's my plan this wk as lamb is 8wks away

    @johnson_tragic · 30/04/2015 at 22:01

Krakouer over him everyday of the week, Tarrant as well.

    The Bont · 30/04/2015 at 23:47

Webb is looking like a great player, but not really supercoach relevant

    Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 11:45

    Shark v Shoal mate

    Same problem with B.Hartung

    youngy55 · 02/05/2015 at 08:27

Average of 57 over first to game isn't bad got a -44 BE, but I think there are better options out there I can see him quick easily being dropped or not getting games, if you bring him in this week your probably get around a 40k cash generation this week but that will slowly decrease and in 5 – 6 weeks when you want to trade him out I can only see him at best at around 250k.

    Remember Trade are Gold!

jezzahill · 30/04/2015 at 21:32

Need your advice community:

I'm using two trades this week, but stuck between three alternatives. I'm going to trade out Heeney for Krak, thats a given. But its the other two options I'm torn between. I want to get Tarrant in this week before his price goes gangbusters, but Will Minson is my R2, and I would use the cash from the Heeney trade to get Goldstein in. Do I get the two rookies in and cop a doughnut in my rucks (I did this last week and just managed to hit 2000) or ensure I get at least Krak in and turf the skin flute Minson?

    4rm · 30/04/2015 at 22:23

Tough one. If your other rookies are going well and making cash I would go the Minson trade. Taz does look pretty special, and there aren't too many rookies start with 2 tons and as much potential to make heaps,of cash. I'm bringing in Taz and Krak, I can't ignore that much money to be made. I will be selling off one under priced rookie, but I'm still sticking with my rule of not trading down unless I make $100 k, or injury. I'm either trading Salem or Sinclair just don't know who yet, I'm leading to Salem, thinking Sinclair can make another $80 k whereas Salem maybe another 50 k. Good luck on a tough decision.

    Mike · 30/04/2015 at 23:49

Unless you’ve completely missed other good rookies this is simple. Got to go with the points of Goldy. Cash won’t get you a league win or points.

    nathan · 01/05/2015 at 07:48

    I’m in the same struggle
But now minson not playing and goldy going up buy around 20k it’s worth taking the rookie this week and having a donut
It’ll hit your points this week but you get the extra cash that’ll be needed later down the track

    Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 11:46

depends if your going for rank or league wins

    Rank then trade Minson
    League then take the 0

Benno · 30/04/2015 at 21:36

Here's my dilemma. Newnes is a spud, worse, a mashed spud. Zac smith dropped but TBC as cover. Thinking both should be traded but… I want, nay, I need krak for heeney and Tarrant for lamb. Hmmm… Thoughts plz community.

    TTJ · 30/04/2015 at 22:51

Maybe you could always trade Smith for Krak by moving TBC into the ruck & trade Lamb for Tarrant & have about 300k in the bank for future upgrades.

At least Newnes is playing. Worry about him later.

What do I do. Heeney or Anderson to krak and Clark or TWalker to Tarrant?

    Donavan · 30/04/2015 at 22:35

Anderson to Krak & Walker to Tarrant.

Anderson is not in the Hawks best 22, and will get only occasional games when injuries dictate.
Walker will drop price over the next week or 2, and Clark still has cash to make once he is back.

    WombatsFC · 01/05/2015 at 00:30

You have a fit player who is team captain but an erratic scorer and an injured player with a terrible injury history.
Clarke has never recovered from an injury in the same season he acquired it. even if a miracle does occur and he's back within 2 weeks he will be subbed for at least his first game so price increase will be minimal.

Walker is fit and can go huge. Keep the fit bloke what happens if Swan and Bont both miss next week?

    Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 11:48

    Donavan · 30/04/2015 at 22:36

Cockatoo – dont think he is ready for AFL quite yet.

Heeney will return in a week or 2, and looks a great player, with more cash to make.

    Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 11:52

I'm the opposite, trade Cockatoo without hesitation. In fact, I traded after round 2 and very pleased with that decision. He's been dropped and simply isn't worth having around. Cockatoo is not a bench cover solution no matter how you look at it. Heeney on the other hand has far more potential to make you money. In any case, both will need to get the chop at some point.

        Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 12:50

yea i havent ever had cockatoo in my team

    tarrant for lamb

The Roughnuts · 30/04/2015 at 22:27

The vast majority of coaches are going Krak & Tarrant this week. Krak I'm in complete agreeance. So my comment is in reference to Tarrant. Apart from Tarrant's obvious injury risk to his shoulders, what will his Job security be like when Lachie Hansen comes back into the team most probably next week. Does he continue to get a game? What are North supporters opinions or any of the communities thoughts? He is obviously going to make a lot of cash this week but will that be it?

    r2d2 · 30/04/2015 at 22:41

Very wary of him myself ,, but his BE is maybe too good too refuse ….

      @t_woof · 30/04/2015 at 23:36

Agree, Lachie Hansen second game back in the VFL this weekend. Would presume he presses hard for selection the following weekend. He loves the marks from opposition kicks, will definitely have an impact on Tarrant's scores if comes back into the 22.

      Tough one…….

        Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 08:25

Yeah but with Taz's form he's not going to knock him out of the team at least. So he'll keep playing and make the most of that massive BE!

    Hazey · 01/05/2015 at 09:21

I reckon Hansen coming back will allow him and Scotty to switch between lock down and 3rd man up roles. There will always be a role for Tarrant and he should get the gig against the gorilla fwds.

    Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 11:55

if he keeps playing well then they wont drop him, but will need to watch carefully if he plays garbage. that said, we only need 3 – 4 more games from him so lets just get on that rollercoaster

jock mate, need a hand tbh..

is it better to trade out either a TBC, salem, clark to tarrant to gain extra cash for the warchest for next week.
or trade tom lamb out

    Rocksta · 30/04/2015 at 23:48

    It’s not Jock,
But I’m trading out Clark for Tarrant. Rather take the $78K than cost myself $27K. ( turnaround of over $100K).
I’m tipping this $100K will come in real handy in the next 2 weeks when I’m looking to bring in fallen premiums.
Clark isn’t a keeper so I say take the money!

    Northerner · 01/05/2015 at 06:10

I’ve a different view. Lamb is LTI. You get to deal with that issue by trading him now. Don’t pass up the chance to address that.

      Rocksta · 01/05/2015 at 08:25

I used Lamb for the Emergency Loophole last week to bring in Hogan’s 100+ score off the bench. I don’t mind having a couple of non playing players in my team as it opens up Emergency and Captain’s loophole options every week.
Besides, there will be many more times to get Lamb out during the season as its only round 5.

    Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 08:47

I always think trading rookies should make you money. If you trade Lamb it's more a corrective trade than a downgrade. I'm holding Lamb for now in the hopes he comes in mid-year, but in the mean time he can be my captain's loophole.

Johnny · 30/04/2015 at 22:37

Who should I bring in for Malceski? Do you think Gibson can keep up his scores.. Maybe Hooker?

    Kev · 30/04/2015 at 22:47

Still not over Rance scoring 90 from doing nothing last week. They obviously love him down at the CD offices, I'd go with him.

      WombatsFC · 01/05/2015 at 00:35

I agree mate I reckon it's a stats person of the female variety that allocates most 'influence' points. You never see busted heads like Mitch Robbo or Jordan Lewis getting 30-50 'bonus' points but pretty boys like Rance, Fyffe, Sloane get tons

        Juzzy · 01/05/2015 at 03:16

My brain is still hurting because Rivers scored more than Selwood last week.
One guy hardly touched it and the other was under every pack for the whole day.
Look at the stats if you want a good laugh.

    scrofl · 01/05/2015 at 00:16

      Juzzy · 01/05/2015 at 03:09

Apart from his first game he has been smashing it.
But … Shhh. Don't tell anyone.

Thoughts on Ahmed saad? Keep or trade. Krak and Tarrant look primed.

    SCaddict · 30/04/2015 at 23:08

I'd totally trade Saad who got dropped this week for either Krak or Taz. Wouldn't give it another thought.

jimmydowland · 30/04/2015 at 22:57

Brett Goodes to Jake Kelly?

    SCaddict · 30/04/2015 at 23:17

      Rocksta · 30/04/2015 at 23:53

      Hope you’re right SC.
He’s on the extended bench, whilst Cheney has been named on field, making me concerned that he may not make the final 22.
I brought him in last week and there’s nothing worse than a rookie getting stranded on 2 games.

        SCaddict · 01/05/2015 at 00:18

Indeed that goes without saying. If he doesn't make the cut tomorrow arvo then he's a no go for those without him.

    scrofl · 01/05/2015 at 00:17

If you've got the coin, upgrade him to a premo. Otherwise I say hold, at least til you can downgrade a rookie and get the cash to upgrade him.

    WombatsFC · 01/05/2015 at 00:43

I agree with scrofl nudenut, if youre trading a midpricer it has to be an upgrade

    Juzzy · 01/05/2015 at 03:05

Genius juzzy, I over looked that whole situation. Another quicky on field for the ox can loop hole I have a full backline

TOPHAWK1 · 30/04/2015 at 23:22

Hi Community,

A little tip for the newbies.

Cripps on the bench tomorrow night as an emergency. Heeney on the field. WHAT the f&%k are u thinking? U may ask…….

As Carlton play first in round 5, we get to look at Crippsy first. Like I expect, he will hammer out another 125+ SC score.

If he does, keep Heeney on the field. He aint playing this week. And keep Cripps as the "only emergency" in your midfield.

If Crippsy gets injured/ pumps out a turd of 50 SC points or less, then Cripps stays on the bench and you quickly take Heeney off the field and replace him with either Krak or Miller or another playing option.

The beauty of rolling lock outs.

Cheers

    dognino · 30/04/2015 at 23:27

Unless you can't log in 🙁 I have to set n forget all my lines this weekend as I don't think I'll have reception

      TOPHAWK1 · 30/04/2015 at 23:31

Well you better fix it!!! Otherwise no hope of getting the 50K!
      LOL

        dognino · 30/04/2015 at 23:37

Haha, I'm well out of the race for 50k already

    SCaddict · 30/04/2015 at 23:36

The emergency loophole is a handy exploit but it can sometimes backfire. For instance if CEY is a late out or another one of your Sunday mids you could be stuck with no emergency if it's already on Cripps with the Heeney donut on field.

Just something to consider is all I'm saying.

      TOPHAWK1 · 01/05/2015 at 00:01

I agree. That is the calculated risk you are prepared to take in order to win this thing.

My pants could get seriously "soiled" this weekend, but this is what it is all about. Calculated risk vs reward.

If Cripps scores a 70, Touk Miller will be a "back up" emergency. And if I am really desperate, I have another trade up my sleeve this round. If my situation gets to a point where everything is against me, well then I will take the globe. (donut)

If so, many other players will have similar problems.

      Cheers

        SCaddict · 01/05/2015 at 00:16

True, there are risks in every move we make or don't make. If Cripps puts in a shocker or gets injured early you could get an edge on the competition this weekend.

        Northerner · 01/05/2015 at 06:22

Miller named on the ball this week with Sexton moving to his previous lock down fwd pocket role. Expect some good output from him this week given they are only playing Brisbane. It’s pouring down like nobodies business here at the moment but they are saying clear skies by lunchtime Saturday for what that’s worth.

      WombatsFC · 01/05/2015 at 01:07

Words of wisdom SCaddict. I got bitten last year using the loophole just because I could.
If your choices are CrippsvPies, VBergVFreo, MillervBris you play cripps and try to loophole somebody else. The kid scored 119 and 106 in his two full Nab games and 78 in 3qrtrs in the 3rd. Had an injury affected score then a week off but backed it up with 170+ AGAINST ARMITAGE!!!

    Rocksta · 30/04/2015 at 23:55

It’s called ‘the Emergency loophole’ TopHawk 1!
Nothing new I would have thought?

JPK or Heppell?

    Traderlyf · 01/05/2015 at 02:18

tough one but im pretty sure JPK has a very high BE so could get him cheaper in a week or two

      Jc · 01/05/2015 at 08:14

This is why I am culling van Berlo and building the war chest. Then also get the benefit of emergency loopholes using the other two.

The Bont · 30/04/2015 at 23:54

Can't wait till Heeney and Clark rip out 100s next week. Way too early to be culling.

    Jc · 01/05/2015 at 08:16

Whoops comment above was for you mate. Culling van berlo instead of heeny or Clark for that very reason.

Nicholas · 01/05/2015 at 00:12

Who do I ditch for Tarrant. Heeney, lambert, Salem, Clark. I alrdy have Krak so that's not a problem and I think my other trade I'd tbc to franklin who looks rly ripe.

    SCaddict · 01/05/2015 at 00:23

Lambert is the obvious choice as he is on the LTI list.

Pacca · 01/05/2015 at 00:56

First time question as really unsure. Want to bring in both Krak and Tarrant, thinking NVB for Krak and Tex for Taz pocketing a few hundred k to add to my already large $440k to start upgrades.

Or do I pass up Taz and upgrade Tex to Buddy (or someone else)

Current fwds: Gray, Dusty, Swan, tex, Salem, hogan (Clark, Lambert)

    Juzzy · 01/05/2015 at 02:56

    Hi Pacca,

I am also tempted by Buddy this week but if I was you I would go Taz. I don't know when we might next find a more obvious cash generator . It seems you have the cash to get Buddy next week anyway.
Do you have another fwd rookie to trade for Tarrant ? Lambert, Clarke,Hogan. It might be worth thinking about it. I don't have Tex but I have a feeling he might go large on the weekend.

    Ethan · 01/05/2015 at 09:22

bringing in taz will force you to make 3 trades instead of 2. but if you need the cash cows. get taz

G'day community, need some guidance!

What to do with the underperforming Jack Newnes with only $26k banked??
Is he a hold and hope he comes along or take the trade, bank a little cash and bring in someone like Ibbotson?
Cheers,

    I N Pieman · 01/05/2015 at 08:34

Hold him for sure. It's not like 5-6 glaring super premos defenders are screaming out pick me. As soon as you trade him he will score 100.

    Ethan · 01/05/2015 at 09:19

if you listen to the podcast. We have no certantity who will be the top 6-8 defenders this year

Jester · 01/05/2015 at 07:57

This week I will be bringing in Tarrant for Ahmed Saad. I will also get Krak but who goes out – NVB, Heeny or Clark?

    Joel · 01/05/2015 at 08:15

Hi Jester, I have got the same problem. Gone with NVB due to his BE. It's a hard call though.

      Jc · 01/05/2015 at 08:17

Same. Also then see pod as almost everyone else getting rid of heeny or Clark.

    Ethan · 01/05/2015 at 09:21

trade out NVB, with heeney and clark not playing you are at no risk of losing cash on them

      matt · 01/05/2015 at 12:54

yes that is true but after this week nvb has MEL STKILDA GWS.. he might not lose money .. well for heeney even if he rips out a nice score he will still be cheaper than nvb… so i think heeney is time to go..

      thoughts???

meaning more likely to generate more cash from nvb

Matt · 01/05/2015 at 08:09

Which 1 should I place on the bench, Cripps, Vandenberg or Ellis-Yolmen?

    Jc · 01/05/2015 at 08:18

Loophole crips in case he has a stinker or injury tonight

      I N Pieman · 01/05/2015 at 08:31

Good advice JC. If your using Heeney as the loophole he's 2nd game up for the round. So Cripps is really the only mid loop option in that case.

        Spot on

      matt · 01/05/2015 at 13:13

I N Pieman · 01/05/2015 at 09:04

Community keep your eyes on one young Daniel Mackenzie. Pick 22 from last years draft. Has been named to play for the saints. Despite an extended bench he's named on the ground so you'd think he's playing for sure. We may well have a very significant downgrade option in a few weeks. He has the priceless Def/Mid status. Of the potential defensive downgrade options that we may have this season this fella was by far the one I was most excited about.

    Ethan · 01/05/2015 at 09:20

    Job Security?

      I N Pieman · 01/05/2015 at 09:33

As a first gamer it remains to be seen. But this guy can play. And the saints will be wanting to get games into him. Renowned for his awesome vertical leap & intercept marking

      TOPHAWK1 · 01/05/2015 at 09:54

If he plays a good debut game this weekend, then I say his job security could get pretty good.

If he struggles, then obviously his job security will be in question.

Bit like life in general really.

Scotty Thompson or Mundy?

Please help

Thanks

    Ethan · 01/05/2015 at 09:20

Play the percentages, Mundy is a proven scorer in the past and is in good form

    TOPHAWK1 · 01/05/2015 at 09:50

    Mundy.

In good form and a lot younger than the veteran Scotty Thompson.

Mundy does occasionally have down games, but overall he scores big scores more often than not.

Could you wait a couple of weeks? for those fallen premos.

Hold your trades if you can

Declan · 01/05/2015 at 09:14

van Berlo or Heeny out for krakouer?

    TOPHAWK1 · 01/05/2015 at 09:46

If you need fast cash for the warchest, its NVB for Krakouer. If you do not need fast cash, its Heeney out for Krakouer. Benefits in both.

Its a tough call though. Heeney misses this week AND with that 7 last week will now take MUCH longer to get to his breakeven price now, but if he does there is probably still 120-140K in him. Are you prepared risk sitting on him for longer in the hope he will get there, or is it simply not worth it as the game has probably moved on too much by then for that to still be a relevant option.

I reckon Heeney out, Krakouer in.

If NVB continues to under achieve, you can still get rid of him later on.

    Just my take though.

    Cheers

    General Soreness · 01/05/2015 at 09:57

NvB for mine, but I do not like NvB as an SC option so I am biased.

      Nato · 01/05/2015 at 13:26

the question with this one is whether Heeney can get back into the team now that Mitchell is in.
My worry is that i keep him and dump NVB, then we dont see Heeney again for a while and the whole point of keeping him goes out the window. Remember that the swans said that subbing him last week was not due to his ankle (take what you will from those comments though i guess)

      Thoughts?

        Declan · 01/05/2015 at 16:32

That has made my decision even harder, now that T Mitchell is back it makes things a lot more interesting

May go Heeney now, was leaning more towards NVB but i dont know now

@OssieTerron · 01/05/2015 at 09:26

    General Soreness · 01/05/2015 at 09:56

    Lambert.

    TOPHAWK1 · 01/05/2015 at 09:37

    Hi grub,

Hold for now. I have both Newnes and Lumumba. Both guys not setting the world on fire, but are still scoring and not bleeding too much cash at this stage. IMO it is important to get your rookie structures perfect so you can make the maximum amount of cash. If Newnes and Lumumba continue to perform poorly over the next 2-3 weeks, then it is is time to go bang bang!

    Cheers

    General Soreness · 01/05/2015 at 09:55

    Hold.

Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 09:35

My forward line is a disaster zone this week: Clark, Lycett and Lamb all out and Swan and Gray with possible 'late out' concerns.

I know I've been saying all preseason that ruck backup is essential this year, but Lycett is useless to me if he's not playing!
My trade options this week have become Lycett to Tarrant, and Heeney to Krakouer. The plan will be to trade in a fwd/ruck at a later date if either Goldy or Maric miss a week, rather than trade them out. These trades will generate me a ton of cash and will enable me to cover 1 late out… but not two. Please please please Swanny, please play tonight so I can relax over the weekend…

    TOPHAWK1 · 01/05/2015 at 10:04

    Hi Sarah

Hell yeah!! Get rid of that Lycett and FAST!! The guy is seriously overrated and trading him out for Tarrant is the way to go. I like Heeney to Krak as well. Heeney will take forever to get to his BE price now. (7 last week and not playing this week). He is strategically much less relevant in the game now.

Also, the cash that Lycett frees up for you will be very handy I reckon.

I have Goldy and Maric too. (Loving it….) I am pretty confident these guys will hold up injury wise. (Touch wood) Both rarely suffer injuries so with a bit of luck you may be able to get away without a back up ruckman for a week or two. Calculated risk worth taking IMO. I have TBC as my back up ruck, and I am not overly pleased with his output, but he has been serviceable and is playing, unlike Lycett. He burnman!

    Cheers

      Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 10:40

      Hi TOPHAWK1,

He sure is a burnman!! The numbers looked good in the preseason but hasn't delivered at all and has been painful to watch. TBC has been ok, as you say, at least he's playing!! Hopefully I can get by without cover for at least a few weeks.

    I N Pieman · 01/05/2015 at 10:28

Hey Sarah. I was watching the WC Brissy game last week & the commentators were bagging Lycetts work ethic or lack of it. And it was apparent. Big lazy Muppet. Obviously the match committee had enough. Get rid of him for sure. Personally I'd send him up if you had the cash. But down to Tarrant is still a good option. The beauty of bringing Kark into the mid bench is that if Gray doesn't get up you can sub krak for him & avoid a donut.

      Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 10:42

Hey Pieman, yeah he's been so disappointing to watch. Heart in mouth, shaking the fist, screaming 'get the damn ball' kind of stuff. I'll be happier with him out of my team, but hoping like hell my rucks can hold up at least until I'm able to bring in cover.
Hoping I don't need to use the Krak swing this weekend, but it will definitely come in handy down the track.

        I N Pieman · 01/05/2015 at 11:21

I only watched Lycett for a few minutes. That was all I needed to see why owners would hate him. The Mid/fwd swing will come in handy. No doubt. I'll be looking closely at Dan Mackenzie as a mid downgrade to create the Mid/def line swing as well.

          Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 11:41

I don't know about the def/mid swing. If he performs well I think I'll take the opportunity to downgrade a defender. Will be watching Josh Glenn closely for the suns as a potential midfield downgrade in the coming weeks.
Next week though is 'hopefully' (barring any injuries) going to be all about upgrading two midfielders to premiums!!
JPK/Lewis/Priddis/Parker/Treloar are high on the watchlist.

          I N Pieman · 01/05/2015 at 12:48

I think the GC will give us some good rookies this year. 2 debutants this week alone. Keep An eye on those boys. There will be some juicy fallen premos shortly. Looking forward to grabbing Rocky for a bargain price. Have you got Cripps Sarah?

            Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 14:13

Of course I do Pieman!! Loved his 172 last week. He won't be ready to cash in for at least another 3 weeks off that score.

    Phil · 01/05/2015 at 12:12

I reckon Ryder is the one to get if you're looking for ruck cover. He's probably bottomed out now and will give you a close to 100 average with or without Lobbe as he has his whole career.

      Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 14:14

I'll bring him in when I need ruck cover I reckon. He's got scope for a poor game and to drop a bit more in value yet.

ATeam12345 · 01/05/2015 at 09:38

Clark to Tarrant
or
Salem to Tarrant
Clark more money to make but not sure on injury status.
Salem's next 3 games are shite. Don't think he'll make an awful lot more.
TBC is another option but could go big this game….

Tofor · 01/05/2015 at 09:50

Like everyone else, been considering getting Krak and Tarrant in this week…
Is anyone else really concerned/skeptical about Krak's JS??? I mean, Port welcoming back a few this week (and still a few more to come) and Krak is the last named on an extended bench..? He needs to play 3-4 more games to generate worthwhile cash… Will this even happen? He's surely a doubt to play this week, or if he does to get the vest..
Looks more likely we'll see those games out of Tarrant I think. Yeah he's injury prone but he just needs 3-4 more good games.
I really can't decide who to trade out.. Can I trade out Heeney.. he's only out short term, and still has cash to make.. will he be managed? increase before the byes..? Prob not. Rich is another one.. breakeven of 65 or something.. but still providing imput too good to get rid of… If Clarke is only out short term.. how can I ditch him so early? Lonie? Salem? Hogan? Still feels too early…
Cripps, vandenberg, Sheed, Ellis Yolmen.. can't ditch them yet.
Might end up doing Heeney to Tarrant via swingset and just leave the Krak..?
Thoughts?

    Jdogg · 01/05/2015 at 10:05

Yeah I would be hesitant to trade rich out this week. He is likely to go big against GC this weekend.

    Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 10:55

Krak being listed last on the extended bench means nothing as they're listed in jumper number order.

      Locked and Loaded · 01/05/2015 at 11:19

Sarah although last on an extended bench doen't matter I agree they are not and never have been listed in jumper order unless Hinkley has OCD

        Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 11:36

Hey Locked and Loaded. Each week there are a few teams in jumper number order on the bench. This week Collingwood, Richmond, Brisbane, North, St Kilda and Port are all listed in jumper number order. I'm not making this up! I've noticed it each week as I try to determine which rookies are at risk of being given the vest! Vandenberg has been listed last on the bench a couple of times but hasn't been given the vest at all.

          Crowmagnon · 01/05/2015 at 12:41

You're right Sarah, some teams list interchange by jumper number, others alphabetically, and some in their true bench order. Bloody confusing.

General Soreness · 01/05/2015 at 09:55

Cracking podcast with brilliant work by the call in's especially Big "Walt Whitman" Ben.

I must add though, I do not think that the Rich to Krak trade is a bad one, big war chest, may result in double upgrade in 2-3 weeks. i.e. Rich>Krak….wait….Vandy>JPK, CEY>Rocky as an example. 3 trades. If you go Heeney>Krak….smaller war chest….wait…Rich>JPK. no warchest then to get Rocky need to go CEY>downtorook, Krak/Cripps>Rocky. 4 trades.

I also think that going Clark or Salem down to go TBC to Goldy is very wise. Despite Goldy's price point he is 20pts clear of next best and whilst he comes with a hefty price he will produce 40pts more at worst over TBC. Tarrant should provide similar or better output than Clark or Salem hence 40+pt gain per week.

Just my 2c.

    I N Pieman · 01/05/2015 at 10:33

Agree General Goldy is a must. He's killing the rest of them. Such a huge advantage to owners. At the peak of his powers & totally dominating games.

Community I have a dilemma. I already have 750k in the warchest, wiht the number of cash generating rookies I feel it is too much to have off the field at this stage.

I'm looking to upgrade Heeney to a super premium and I'm tossing up between JPK or Heppell. Neither is totally ideal (Hep probably at or near his ceiling, JPK is still set to drop a bit of coin), however all the other potential top 8 mids (Pendles, Treloar, Rocky, Watson etc.) will still all drop a lot of cash before the bye, and I'm not yet convinced that the early bolters like Mundy, Sheil and Hannebury will stay top 8 by the end of the season.

The other option is to put off an upgrade for another week and either trade Heeney for Tarrant, or just save the trade altogether.
What are your thoughts community?

    Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 10:53

The name of the game is ultimately points! Spend away! Maybe go for the premo option you think will drop the least in price from this point on… but you need those points.

    Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 11:40

without knowing who your top 8 MIDS are its hard to say

If you dont have FYFE, PENDLES and SLOAN then you need these 3

I've decided to give those ultra premos another week to drop in value and instead trade Anderson to Tarrant (swinging Lambert).

Leaves me skinny in the mids this week, but allows for double super premo upgrade next week.

For every trade you burn bringing in a rookie now, you will have to burn a further 2 trades to upgrade to a premo. I'm holding this week.

    General Soreness · 01/05/2015 at 10:29

    That is not correct.

Those that do not generate the cash will be left with trades but no cash. It is a balancing act.

I predict that the winner this year will most likely have traded into both Krak and Tarrant if they did not have them.

I'm thinking Heeney, Salem, Clark in that order of preference.
No guarantee when Heeney comes back, whether he'll be managed, wear the vest, and he's carrying a low score.
Salem's prob got an extra 50-100k in him, but Tarrant should make more than that if he plays just 3-4 games.

Named. High ceiling potential, scored 110 and 95 or something in rounds 2 and 3, before 39 and injured last week.
Worth keeping, could still gain 100k and have a decent output..? Prob won't be a FWD keeper though at the end of the year and likely to be inconsistent.

    Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 10:57

Maybe it's too early in the season??

Locked and Loaded · 01/05/2015 at 11:18

If you have the majority of cash cows only take a punt on one of Krak and Taz (sounds like a looney tunes). You cannot have them all and its not necessary to have them all. Towards the end of the year I gurantee you woud rather have one trade left and 20k in the bank than no trades and 200k. Be smart. Foir those struggling for the best rookies then by all means look at getting both.

    I N Pieman · 01/05/2015 at 11:28

Have you considered that Krak & Taz have round 13 byes. And assuming they are still playing that's priceless. That's still fair way away. But the way they are playing JS is not an immediate danger.

      Locked and Loaded · 01/05/2015 at 11:32

Yes I have considered that and I've also considered that Taz can struggle to string 8 games together until then. I'm not saying its silly to bring in both im just saying its not necessary to take a punt on both if you have the right rookies

        I N Pieman · 01/05/2015 at 12:00

It is kind of greedy. But I think it makes getting to full premo a little faster. I want to kill NVB & going to Krak & opening up DPP is too hard to resist. I also have Lamb sitting at M8 gathering dust & doing nothing. So Taz looks like a nice replacement

          Locked and Loaded · 01/05/2015 at 12:23

If you don't want to use Lamb as a loophole then yes I agree get him in on my side of things I only have Ahmed Saad i want to move on I will stay with Clark and Heeney for now. All of mu other rookies have cash to make not worth two trades

          I N Pieman · 01/05/2015 at 13:06

I’m not getting rid of henney either. He will be last years Lewis Taylor. Started slow. Many traded him. Then he got going & turned into the seasons best cash cow

            Crowmagnon · 01/05/2015 at 13:13

with 3 mid bench spots there is certainly no reason to rush Heeney out. I thought I'd made a mistake with Taylor on my mid bench after rd1 last year, but he turned out to be my most versatile player. Only slaughtered him during the finals.

              I N Pieman · 01/05/2015 at 14:12

I was in the exact same boat Magnon. Everyone turfed Luey Taylor. Decided to keep him cause I knew he was a gun from his junior days. Every time I needed him he gave me a ripping score. Turfed him too just before the finals & it gave me Fyfe & a spare Mid/Fwd premo. Which was handy. Just get the feeling Heeney will do the same. The Dees offered pick 2 for him. He's a hell of a talent.

                Locked and Loaded · 01/05/2015 at 14:51

Heeney is going to be valuable guys love the decision. Just don't know whether to bring in Krak or Tarrant for Saad. Very much leaning towards Krak

Chris · 01/05/2015 at 11:27

Am I the only one with serious concerns about the Krak??? He's prone to some seriously "soft" attacks on the ball. Surprises he didn't get dropped after one in the last quarter against North. Only on extended bench this week. He'll get dropped well before the byes and if Port have a good injury run he won't get back in. His job security is terrible in my view – look beyond the 82 points.

Really nervous and if he wasn't basement priced I wouldn't even be considering him. Still leaning towards a no.

Tarrant on the other hand is a lock. Injury is his concern but when he does get right he can play at least half a season and that's all I need him to do. Given his current form I can't pass him by.

    Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 11:33

If all your lines are good, then dont waste a trade. But with such a tasty BE you only need another 2-3 games out of him to gain considerable $$$
Any more than those 3-4 games are a bonus

    Same goes for Tarrant

    Phil · 01/05/2015 at 12:04

Worried about Kraks JS? Tarrant has a fit Hansen breathing down his neck, 1 bad game and he could be gonesky. But like Wheels says they only need to play a couple more games to be worthwhile and any more is a bonus so I reckon it's probably a bigger risk not taking them.

    Harry · 01/05/2015 at 12:32

I agree with you Chris. Port is super strong and Impey also to come back soon. Who goes back on the rookie list if Krakouer doesn't also? I got Tarrant in early last week and am holding my trade for Krak. I'm much more interested in 2 debutants: Corey Ellis (richmond) and Josh Glenn (GCS). Particularly the latter is mature age and is in for O'Meara who is definitely out all season

    PJay · 01/05/2015 at 13:44

Don't' pay too much attention to his position on the extended bench. Port are one of the few teams that list their interchange list in order of jersey number.

Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 11:32

I have all the rookies i need.

Heeney

Im looking at trading him to B.HARTUNG

any thoughts community

or should i hold HEENEY until other players hit the bubble next week?

cheers

Wheels
Tean Name: Pnorkle900

    JMG · 01/05/2015 at 13:01

I wouldnt get Hartung personally, too much competition for spots in the Hawks team

      Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 13:04

      cheers mate

im thinking of holding Heeney until next week and getting boekhurst

hopefully b-hurst can "burst" out tonight and score a 75 + point game

        Nato · 01/05/2015 at 13:28

        very interesting point Wheels.

how did b-hurst go last week? i didnt see the game?

          Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 13:31

          did his job
          scored 55 i think

i prefer for a 1st gamer to have a game like that. time and time again ( tarrant exception ) you see game 1 = 120 then game 2 = reduced output folowed by a steady decline until they get dropped or injured.

if "burst" can improve this week, then my arousal curve will spike upwards

    Lazy_Simmo · 01/05/2015 at 14:25

I'd be wary of Billy being rotated with Anderson/o'Rourke in the colour of snot 🙂

Nathan · 01/05/2015 at 12:15

Hey guys

Looking at an upgrade down back for Goodes

Hooker, Hodge or Smith i am thinking….any help?

    @thecowza · 01/05/2015 at 12:22

I'd avoid upgrading down back at this stage.. focus on other lines or build the warchest for the fallen premiums.

    JMG · 01/05/2015 at 13:03

Ditto. Im holding Goodes til a reliable defender emerged from the current dung heap LOL

    Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 13:05

i wouldnt upgrade Goodes yet, unless your team is perfect and you have lots of cash

to answer your question i would take Hodge

but concentrate on your DEF line last!

      demon · 01/05/2015 at 14:11

hodge will score well but is likely to be rested throughout the year, so isn't ideal if going for overall

Josh · 01/05/2015 at 12:18

A cunning (if not somewhat convoluted ) plan……….or not? VC/C/Player loophole

A) – VC Pendlebury. Cripps (EMER) Heeney on field. If they both score well put C on Heeney

B) – If Pendlebury scores good but Cripps stinks it up, replace Heeney with either Krak or CEY. Put C on Clark, with EMER on Gray (if he plays) or worst case Lonie.

C) – If Pendlebury stinks it up, but Cripps scores good, leave Heeney on field, Cipps as EMER, and put C on Sloane.

D) – If both Pendlebury and Cripps score low, then replace Heeney with Krak or CEY and put C on Sloane.

Too fanciful, too risky ????

cheers Josh

    Darren · 01/05/2015 at 12:27

    Exactly what I’m doing

    Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 13:07

    wow
thats a fanciful friday night you have here.

i always say the KISS principle applies

but then again i have never won supercoach.

me personally im playing it safe. VC pendles – C Fyfe and if pendles score 120+ i will C – Reilly from adelaide

      Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 14:08

Why do you have Reilly from Adelaide??? He's not cheap for a player who wont play. I very much doubt he'll play at all this year.

      Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 14:10

You must mean Reilly O'Brien (ruck) surely??

        Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 14:16

        Haha
        Thanks for that Sarah
        i meant o’brien

          Sarah · 01/05/2015 at 14:29

Oh good! I was very worried about your supercoach team if you had Brent Reilly in your team!!

BigDropKick · 01/05/2015 at 12:28

Minson is still out ( no back up ) ….
looking at going to either Ryder or Grundy ( have Goldy already )
? Any thoughts appreciated

    Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 13:08

Ryder is my 1st upgrade option for my FWD line so i would say Ryder.

Grundy is not a proven SC player yet, could be the next Zac Smith and be dropped

      BigDropKick · 01/05/2015 at 13:39

Thanks Wheels1987 , agree with you re Grundy not proven …. my sons advice = probably trying to stuff my team ; )

        Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 13:41

hahah theres no loyalty amongst friends in supercoach!
only within the deep walls of the community!

    Crowmagnon · 01/05/2015 at 13:24

Don't know if I've lost the plot but I'm thinking of either getting in Jacobs and never looking at that line again or trading out my R3 and getting (gulp) Ayce Cordy!

      Jimi · 01/05/2015 at 14:01

      What about Maric?

    Bec · 01/05/2015 at 14:23

I'm going Ryder this week, he was going to be in my FWD line anyway eventually. With Lobbe back, he will go bang.

Kels · 01/05/2015 at 12:28

I could either

Trade Salem for Tarrant which leaves me with $370k
or
Trade Clark for Tarrant which leaves me with $324k

who should be culled

    Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 13:09

    hold both.
surely you have someone else you can offload for Tarrant

Clark has a low BE and Salem, although not as low, still has a pretty low BE and if he scores a 75+ score you will be kicking yourself.

    Crowmagnon · 01/05/2015 at 13:20

out of those 2 I'd dump Clark.

    Tofor · 01/05/2015 at 13:38

    Agreed with Wheels.
I'm in the same boat as you Kels.
I have Clark, Jack Martin, Salem, Lonie, Hogan as rookies up forward and want Tarrant.
I've got Sheed, Cripps, Heeney, Rich, Vandenberg, Ellis Yolmen in the mids and considering Krak.
Just don't know who to drop… I think Heeney is the only one I can really justify… MAYBE Salem as the Dees have had a decent run and he still hasn't scored anything too high…
As said though, Salem could just easily get a 90 this week and you'd be kicking yourself. He's got a low B/E of 17..
Clark has a negative break even along with Hogan, so you just can't get rid of them right now IMO

      chris · 01/05/2015 at 14:33

i'm taking a bit of a risk but getting rid of TBC,
everyone will be saying to keep him, but i feel as if he is my only choice this week to get tarrant in,
not only allowing me extra cash to upgrade 2 premos next week but getting me a bit of POD by not having him in my squad seeing as he is averaging 10 points less than i expected him to at the start of the season.
i then get cash generation off all my fwd rookies, risky but could pay off..

JMG · 01/05/2015 at 12:57

I’ve got Jackson Nelson (WCE) and Heeney. Both out. Nelson being rested only scoring 50s but havent made much cash off him. B/E of 8 when he returns but won’t make tons of cash.
Heeney has higher B/E and that 7, worried about his JS.
Who to trade for Krak.
My other trade will b Mcgrath to Tarrant not making much money right now but as this is a LTI is this acceptable??
Really stuck!

    Ethan · 01/05/2015 at 14:09

Go with your gut, im not an expert but i reckon nelson will see more game time than heeney

Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 13:14

McGrath to Tarrant = good trade

The Ranger · 01/05/2015 at 13:32

One up, one down.
Judd and Salem OUT
Krak and Fyfe IN

Good move?

    Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 14:06

    keep Judd
dont get me wrong, Fyfe is a must. but keep judd and see how he goes tonight.
remember the reason why u picked Judd in the 1st place

    Ethan · 01/05/2015 at 14:07

    i would get fyfe asap
but the other part of the story is that judd is a good player to have as a stepping stone to a fallen premium

      The Ranger · 01/05/2015 at 15:10

Judd was always a stepping stone.
Trading him now leaves me with little in the kitty but I've got all the other obvious rooks except Tarrant who I'm a little sceptical about anyway.
I could grab Tarrant but I've already had to burn a few trades on injuries and getting the right rookies so would rather start using them to lock in some keepers.

Ben · 01/05/2015 at 13:34

I have Heeney and Clark.

I also already have Krak and Tarrant.

1 trade remaining, and $161k.

Is there anyone else worth trading Heeney to this week? I'm gonna hold onto Clark … for at least one more week, anyway.

Any advice, community?

    Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 14:04

    Hold Heeney and Clark

Wait and see what happens next week.!

    Ethan · 01/05/2015 at 14:06

    not at the moment

Krazee-Eyez Killa · 01/05/2015 at 13:44

Personally ditching Salem myself. Melbourne have Freo, Sydney and Hawthorn in the next 3 weeks, and then the Doggies, Port and Pies. I can’t see him getting consistenly good scores in most of those games, so he’s gone. I may be wrong, but we’ll see.

Doing what most are doing and getting in Krak(for Lambert), and Tarrant(for Salem). Will leave me with 247k in the bank with 25 trades, and all of the main cash cows. Currently ranked inside top 300, so looking to keep that up. Thinking a lot of the guys ahead of me will be doing similar trades.

    Ethan · 01/05/2015 at 14:05

bold move, Salem still potentially has one or two more weeks to bring in more cash, Plus it depends on your priorities.

Krazee-Eyez Killa · 01/05/2015 at 13:45

Also, why are people so quick to trade out Heeney? Yeah he’s not named this week because of an ankle concern, but he trained with the main squad Thursday and seemed fine. The kid is just having a bit of a spell

    Ben · 01/05/2015 at 13:50

I think it's more to do with 7 in his score rotation … even if he is back sooner rather then later, his cash generating capability will be slowed down.

    Ethan · 01/05/2015 at 14:02

his price will stall for a few weeks and that could concern some players who are trying to make as much cash as they can to build up a war chest

    Wheels1987 · 01/05/2015 at 14:05

Heeney's only issue getting back into the team is if Tom Mitchell kills it.
I strongly feel that these 2 players are linked and if one is dominant, the other will struggle.

      Krazee-Eyez Killa · 01/05/2015 at 14:15

I disagree. Mitchell plays in the guts and Heeney has been playing forward quite a bit. If anything Heeney has been playing a similar role to McGlynn, who was dropped this week.

Personally I had other players to trade ahead of Heeney, hence the holding, but I feel as though if he’s fit and available, he gets picked

    Tofor · 01/05/2015 at 14:32

Heeney is quality agreed. But will he rise much in price before the byes? Probably not. Were you thinking of keeping him beyond then? His JS is decent, but always a vest risk. There are other rookies in and out of our teams to generate more cash than Heeney will. Someone has to go.

      Krazee-Eyez Killa · 01/05/2015 at 14:46

He was averaging 85 or so before the injury and 7 in the last game. I haven’t planned too far ahead with him just yet, but if he keeps up that 85 average while he plays, then I’d be silly not to hold onto him.

My priority this week was to trade down for cash. Lambert out, krak in, and I made the decision to cut Salem ahead of his tough run of games coming up. Can’t see him going up on value too much.

Heeney may be a vest risk, you’re right, but Sydney have quite a few young blokes playing who are vest risks also. Goodesy is back this week and who’s to say the green vest won’t be his on occasion?

Dan · 01/05/2015 at 13:50

Krakouer or Salem in my starting lineup?

    Ethan · 01/05/2015 at 14:05

if you can rookie loophole you should go with either but if you cant, krakour i guess

jimmydowland · 01/05/2015 at 14:07

what do you think i should do

i currently have Brett Goodes..

Jake kelly is on the bubble, should i get him in for goodes or should i hold of trading him for now. (maybe wait for McKenzie in a week or two)

    I N Pieman · 01/05/2015 at 14:17

Depends if you need cover Jimmy. If you don't then I'd say hold off. Kelly won't be a prolific scorer at all. If you have 2 non playing bench players that would change my opinion. But absolutely keep your eye on DMac

      jimmydowland · 01/05/2015 at 14:23

very good shout mate, ive got oxley at d7 so got good cover and yes kelly wont score greatly.. thanks mate. lets hope the great dmac gets up and smashes a ton

jake · 01/05/2015 at 14:08

So who should be culled for krak?
heeney
clark
salem

and whats everyones thoughts on there output and pirce rise in regards to BE's and upcomign games?

CashCows · 01/05/2015 at 14:46

b.goodes to Kelly
Clark to Tarrant

Good call?

No cover down back with hamling on the bench and I got lambert but I feel you shouldn’t spend money (40k~) to bring in another rookie. Dont want to run the risk of bringing in too many rookies with no one to downgrade to and waste trades.

Krazee-Eyez Killa · 01/05/2015 at 14:58

Captains loophole first world problems. All of my bench players who aren’t playing are lining up in the first 3 games of the round. Have no idea what to do. I want to whack the VC on JPK but then not sure who to put the C on in the meantime

Conor · 01/05/2015 at 16:54

Who out for Tarrant? Lamb or Clark? or Heeney?

Supercoach wisdom needed!

Started with Krakour so don't have to worry about that.

    @HJ_Mitch · 01/05/2015 at 18:50

Keep your powder dry this week if you can, Conor.

    youngy55 · 01/05/2015 at 22:54

If I had to choose I would most likely get rid of Lamb depending on if you need the fast cash or not for other lines. you could always trade out NVB if you had him possibly.

But I don't see Lamb playing anytime soon

Pieman74 · 01/05/2015 at 17:23

Greetings Community.

I'm looking to make 1 or 2 trades this week. These are my options:

1) Lamb or McGrath to Tarrant
2) Lamb or McGrath to Young (PA)
3) Lamb or McGrath to Krakour (PA)
4) Newes to McGovern, Shaw or McDonald (Melb)

If I went Lamb or McGrath to Tarrant and Newes to McGovern, then I would have two dual position players which I could swap between defence/forward. Only concerns about Tarrant are injury history and job security.

Any comments, advice, thoughts greatly appreciated from the Community.

Good luck to all teams this weekend.

    @HJ_Mitch · 01/05/2015 at 18:49

Keep Newness for now is my advice, Pieman. Moreover, If I don't have to trade this week, I wouldn't because I feel that trades are going to be as valuable as rocking horse shit in the second half of this season.
I would get McGovern in if you need to make a trade.

Mike · 02/05/2015 at 11:02

Trades this week are killing me. I have Wallis and not sure if I should hold.

Which of Wallis/Heaney/NVB should I trade to krak

Which of Salem/Clark should I trade to tarrant

can anyone help?
