Hold Parker? or trade

    min0008 · 26/04/2015 at 21:58

    KJU FC · 26/04/2015 at 21:58

ill be holding him brillsy but thats based on the fact that I need to assess other areas of my team.

im hoping he can continue his form from his second half against freo and start to get back on track.

    Hazey · 26/04/2015 at 21:58

Same dilemma here. 2nd half was better last round and the run gets a bit easier for the Swannies, so I’m leaning towards holding.

    SCaddict · 26/04/2015 at 22:01

Reckon the worst is over for Parker holders. The worm looked like it turned in the second half last night. Swans have a good run now so those tons are probably not far away.

      @TheNoLanguage · 26/04/2015 at 22:05

What about people that don't have him addict? I'm considering a Rich upgrade to Parker this week as I think Rich has done his job.

        SCaddict · 26/04/2015 at 22:10

For those without him just wait for him to post his first ton for the season and then go bang!

Probably has more cash to leak for those who are interested to snap him up.

      JJH · 26/04/2015 at 22:06

Lets hope he turns it around, dropped 80k so far!

    Marco_Polo94 · 26/04/2015 at 22:17

Hold mate he will come good. Showed signs of getting back into it this week.

    scrofl · 26/04/2015 at 22:18

    Hold, stick by your premiums.

    Jackybluch · 27/04/2015 at 08:27

    Jackybluch · 27/04/2015 at 21:25

gday fellas . got any ideas on upgrading a defender rookie to a premo defender. i have nathan brown and 500 K in the bank. Have players to decide on. Brodie Smith, Alex Rance, Hooker or Hodgey. any thoughts???

    @themisfitsSC · 28/04/2015 at 16:06

tom · 26/04/2015 at 21:56

is it worth trading down brown to kelly/harris andrews?

and should we pull the pin early on salem/hogan/clark to bring in webb?

    Danners16 · 29/04/2015 at 13:04

Brown to Kelly, and Clark to Webb sounds good if you have Krak and Tarrant

@TylerCArmstrong · 26/04/2015 at 21:58

I want to bring in Tarrant, but I don't have anyone to trade out!

    SCaddict · 26/04/2015 at 22:07

Fortunately I still have Bartel so that's an easy $400K for the war chest!

But yes all our forward rookies that are playing are flying!

    @johnson_tragic · 26/04/2015 at 22:13

It might not help you specifically however I'll be trading him in via bellchambers…

    Chris · 26/04/2015 at 22:14

Getting rid of Bellchambers for Tarrant. Upgrade Goodes to premo down back

      Canny the Manny · 26/04/2015 at 23:31

Yeah, I really like this trade, although I assum you’re sacrificing that ruck backup in TBC, big risk.

        Mr chan · 27/04/2015 at 07:47

Well I have goldy n Nic Nat in ruck. Bell at front for cover but I’m happy to take that risk as I’m leaking points bad

          Mr chan · 27/04/2015 at 08:07

By the way, this means I can still hold heeny in mids for loopholes. Have a feeling he will be back earlier and can generate me more cash

      Bye Week · 27/04/2015 at 13:39

I've moved on TBC for tarrant as well. Sacrificing my ruck swing.
But having over 300k tied up in a player producing 60-70 each week just for that off chance that one of my rucks will miss a game is too much. Especially when fwd rookies are matching or outperforming his output. So having that much money sitting on the bench seems like a big waste

        Mr chan · 27/04/2015 at 14:12

Yeah I’m pretty confident that is a good move and not wasting the $$ on rookie players score from tbc. But it’s so difficult finding a premo defender or $500+ mid. Won’t be moving on heeny yet. Goodes to hooker/hibberd sounds good to me

    scrofl · 26/04/2015 at 22:23

I'm trading out Van Berlo for Tarrant, by swinging Krakouer from my forwards into my mids. Oh the joys of DPP players!

      Jacko · 27/04/2015 at 00:19

      How will that even work

        CrackersFC · 27/04/2015 at 09:28

Trade NVB out, swing Krak into the mids, giving you space in the Fwds and then trade in Tarrant.

    Josh · 27/04/2015 at 07:51

That’s my issue to! I think I’ll trade out Salem

    MC · 27/04/2015 at 12:24

Trade van berlo for Tarrant swinging with the likes of bont Martin swan or gray, and when the likes of hogan Salem and Clarke Tarrant have ripened swing your mid/ fwd back to the fwd and upgrade your ripened rookies to an ultra premo in the mids! Hope this makes sense! Hahaha

tom · 26/04/2015 at 21:59

time to trade Newnes? If so, to who?

already have simpson and shaw and will wait for Smith as he should drop.

    splinter · 26/04/2015 at 22:04

    gibson or murphy, solid choices

      Josh · 27/04/2015 at 08:03

    carlashirley90 · 26/04/2015 at 22:05

Who to trade out for Tarrent? TBC, Salem, Hogan, Lonie or M.Clarke?
I am thinking of Salem but would love your thoughts thanks guys

      aussiekid · 26/04/2015 at 22:10

i would go clark but thats just me only cause he relys on 1 big quarter for most his points.

      SCaddict · 26/04/2015 at 22:12

Out of those guys TBC would be the one as he's appeared to have plateaued in price and an injury risk anyway.

      @johnson_tragic · 26/04/2015 at 22:13

Bellchambers. Salem still has cash to appreciate. Bellchambers will begin to fall as essendon does I worry (coming from an essendon fan)

      Mic · 26/04/2015 at 22:39

      I would trade Lonie

        Motsy · 27/04/2015 at 13:58

Lonie has a – BE do not trade!

      Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 08:33

I'm probably going to trade out Salem as I didn't really want to select him in the first place and the demons are about to hit a very difficult few weeks with games against Freo, Swans and Hawks.

      Seaford Scouse · 28/04/2015 at 09:06

I’d expect TBC (like most Bombers players) to improve given their completely under-done pre-season is clearly having an affect on their overall fitness, especially in final quarters. When he’s up and running I’d be expecting 80-90 from TBC, also haven’t seen him with Giles in yet which may give him greater goal-scoring ability. I’d hold him personally just for insurance purposes, he could prove very valuable later in the season when trades are at a premium and your r1/2 goes down. Of the others mentioned salems done an ok job so far but has shown rookie inconsistencies so he’d probably be top of the list for me.

      @themisfitsSC · 28/04/2015 at 16:10

yes salem would be the one there for sure

    scrofl · 26/04/2015 at 22:25

I think so, yes. Last week his stats were great, but his DE% was awful. I was convinced he'd step up his game this week and have a big one, but no. He's just going to keep losing value, trade him to a proper premium while there isn't as big a gap between their prices!

    MC · 27/04/2015 at 12:27

    Enright is a rock

noob · 26/04/2015 at 22:05

I'm disgusted at my team… I'm embarrased to say I only scored 1804

I'm stuck!..
What can I do with my team? Please help as I am in a time of need.

def: shaw, lumumba, newmes, saad, mcintosh, oxley (brown, goodes)
mid: fyfe, sloane, beams, parker, steven, CEY, NVB, vandenberg (heeney, wines, newton)
ruck: maric, nic nat (read)
fwd: swan, dusty, TBC, hogan, salem, clarke (gray, lambert)
have no money but 28 trades left.

would love to get in krakour and tarrant but I might have to sacrifice one of them to trade out an under performing premo
please help community.

    aussiekid · 26/04/2015 at 22:18

put gray back on field for clark trade clark for krak thats about 120k than upgrade one of lumumba, newnes

    Matt · 26/04/2015 at 22:47

Trade Heeney for Krakour opening up a loophole.
    Trade Lambert out for Tarrant.
This will give maximum cash generation for bye round fallen premium trade frenzy

      Mike · 27/04/2015 at 13:26

    scrofl · 26/04/2015 at 22:50

Trade NVB to Krak (NVB has a breakeven of 64 this week, and I don't think he'll reach it), and then trade out Lambert for Tarrant, seeing as how Lambert won't play for another 6+ weeks anyway.

      Vlastuin Paradise · 27/04/2015 at 17:04

Van Berlo’s BE is getting very close to his average because of two poor showings in a row, but I don’t think he will score sub 50 too often. Crows draw coming into the byes is tasty and if he averages 70 from here will stil generate another 50k or so.

Injuries to rookies may dictate your outs, and Lambert needs to go. If Heeney is out for 4+, I think Matt’s suggestion is the way ahead.

        Liam · 27/04/2015 at 20:04

Heeney should be good for this weekend

    SOOnami · 26/04/2015 at 23:09

NVB out for Krak. Wines needs to go but if you wanna keep him, you could move swanny or dusty over to MID position and pick up tarrant. You can always move swan or dusty back later when your forwards mature.

    Pat · 27/04/2015 at 10:58

dont panic. you have a team who under performed last week, no need to panic.

If i were you I would swap Goodes to J.Kelly and pocket yourself 100k, then swap Lambert to either Tarrant or Krakouer.

My mindset is not to trade out people who are still getting a game each week and generating cash (ie Heeney – pending he isnt injured longer than 2-3 weeks etc)

    Wombattered · 27/04/2015 at 11:55

Wines to Krak – Ollie is gone for 4 more weeks and will score sub 100 first couple of games back. Getting Krak opens up your mid-for swing.
    NVB to Pendle
    TBC/lamb to Tarrant
    Goodes to TMac

    Ethan · 27/04/2015 at 12:02

if you really need krakour and tarrant down tbc and wines. its way too long to hold such a valuable player

    MC · 27/04/2015 at 12:30

Heeney for krak, van berlo for Tarrant banking you plenty of chest. See my above post if unsure how to turn van berlo to Tarrant

    Epidemick · 30/04/2015 at 20:44

Van berko to krakour. Lambert to tarrant

Nathan · 26/04/2015 at 22:05

Parker out? Newnes out? Or walker out?

Only one

I’m trading lamb for Tarrant

I’d like krakour but trading a premo out for a rookie doesn’t seem great but worth doing at this stage coz my team is struggling

    scrofl · 26/04/2015 at 22:51

Parker will come good, not sold on Walker yet but he has potential.Give Newnes the flick., he's not playing anywhere near good enough to keep.

      Bye Week · 27/04/2015 at 13:45

Newnes has been playing rubbish…. But picking a top player in defense is just guess work. Has been no real standouts in def.
      I'm holding Newnes (an hoping)

    nick · 27/04/2015 at 00:52

would keep newns just for one more week always stick with the the best players but get rid of players like harry o he is crap

Harry · 26/04/2015 at 22:06

Mumford? Newnes? Kelly? Bellchambers? Walker? Wallis? All my underperforming players, should I trade any?

    nick · 27/04/2015 at 00:53

keep mummy he is getting warmed up I bought Ibbotson in for lumbia and Kelly in for ramsey

    Bye Week · 27/04/2015 at 13:46

The only thing saving TBC from being mass traded is a lot of people brought him in for the ruck swing

Thomas · 26/04/2015 at 22:06

What should I do with the skin flute

    SCaddict · 26/04/2015 at 22:17

If he doesn't play again this week he has to go in my view especially if it's costing you a donut.

Buddy tex · 26/04/2015 at 22:07

Sandi out or hold????

    Danzo · 27/04/2015 at 22:51

Just hold, don't burn a trade

    cow roll · 28/04/2015 at 00:09

Trade. —Sandi has too many helpers so he doesn't need to contest for balls.

AUSSIEKID · 26/04/2015 at 22:08

surely if heeney is on your bench downgrade to krak theres 130k

    SCaddict · 26/04/2015 at 22:20

Kraks needs to come in plain and simple so if Heeney is your best option then pull the trigger. I'm prepared to be patient on Heeney myself as I reckon there's still at least another $150K-$200K in the kid.

      aussiekid · 27/04/2015 at 15:54

thanks for advice, thoughts on devon smith ?

        Bog rat · 27/04/2015 at 22:13

Had him in all preseason wish I kept him in

        SCaddict · 27/04/2015 at 22:20

Really like him but I still prefer Buddy at that price point. But that's just a personal preference so if you're keen on the talented GWS youngster I'd say go for it.

    Ethan · 27/04/2015 at 12:05

unless you have no one else to downgrade, then sacrifice heeney but remember, heeney has still a decent cash cow and will continue to make cash

Caz · 26/04/2015 at 22:08

Hi jock is heeney down to krakour and someone like salem down to robbie tarrent with doing this week.

    aussiekid · 26/04/2015 at 22:20

yeah but would only do 1 of those downgrade trades

      Canny the Manny · 26/04/2015 at 23:26

      Why only one?
Both their breakevens will be around rock bottom meaning huge cash generation. The only reason you should even consider using the one trade this week is if you’ve used 6 trades already this season. BANG BANG.

        Youngster · 27/04/2015 at 07:59

You can't jump on every kid that looks like he's going up because trades are too valuable at the tail end of the season. Every single week there are good reasons to use 2 trades and come the bye rounds, you'll have a good reason to use all 3. But you simply can't trade like that. Sometimes you just have to pass. To use the money they make, it's two trades to get them in and two trades to step up/down. But if you have a plan and using 2 trades on two cash cows is part of it, then BANG BANG.

          Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 08:40

I agree you can't jump on every kid but you need to take the good ones when they come along as the options dry up as the season progresses. There are a few in each position to consider this weekend but I will be jumping on Tarrant and Krakouer… banking about $400k and then starting my upgrades to fallen premiums next week.

          Caz · 27/04/2015 at 14:17

Ok have decided to go McGrath to tarrent instead and heeney to krak. This leaves me with 500k to start upgrading next week.

    Ethan · 27/04/2015 at 12:07

Salem will continue to generate cash, its way to early to be spamming trades in order to get the new rookies in

    MC · 27/04/2015 at 12:33

Do not trade any playing rooks in fwd for Tarrant still making cash

Ryan · 26/04/2015 at 22:09

Scored 2311 so not too many problems at the moment, one possibly being trent Mckenzie, might hold for a week or two.
I was thinking Tarrant for McGrath and krakouer for heeney, along with trades I've made previously I'll have a bit over 400k in the bank to upgrade mckenzie and possibly Walters. Good trades or keep heeney and miss out on krakouer?
Thanks community

    Hazey · 26/04/2015 at 22:27

Sounds like yr in a solid position with great strategy Ryan!

    I’d do it.

    @TheNoLanguage · 26/04/2015 at 22:46

Coming off 2223 I'm pulling the trigger on NVB to Krak and Lamb to Tarrant. Gives me 300k to beef up my mids the week after.

anthonyc12 · 26/04/2015 at 22:11

Only scored 1880, went from ranked 200 to 2000 but must remain strong…

Do I double downgrade Goodes to Tarrant and Salem to Krakour, or do I go downgrade to Krakour and then upgrade Goodes to a defensive premium? (lets be honest there is no defensive player you could consider a premium)

    Ryan · 26/04/2015 at 22:13

I'd consider hooker a premium defender

      anthonyc12 · 26/04/2015 at 22:15

Yes you may be correct, Hooker is probably the defensive player I would bring in as an upgrade to Goodes.

And I think Heeney to Krakour rather than Salem to Krakour.

      SideBySidebottom · 27/04/2015 at 11:38

A 27 year old defender who's only averaged above 70 three times and has a highest annual average of 79 is not a premium defender in any way, shape or form.

    Booma · 26/04/2015 at 22:55

Harry Taylor & Bob Murphy also ones to consider.

Peter Dobson · 26/04/2015 at 22:19

I’m thinking it is time to say goodbye to Hurn. He was a risk that didn’t pay off and is leaking cash. What do you think community hold our hurl.

    SCaddict · 26/04/2015 at 22:29

Yeah Shannon Burn has just never worked out for fantasy purposes. At the start of every season he looks great but he can never really deliver for fantasy coaches.

The only problem is which premo to swap him for as consistent elite defenders have been non existent this season.

      Redgumwon · 27/04/2015 at 20:56

      Enright or Hibbert

jimmydowland · 26/04/2015 at 22:21

sunday podcast on me birthday, cheers jock !

aussiekid · 26/04/2015 at 22:21

thoughts on d. smith and buddy ? or any other suggestions
have swan, gray, martin

r2d2 · 26/04/2015 at 22:22

Has rich nearly done his job ?? Or 1 more ?? And thinking flicking tbc for Tarrant , or working out a way to get Ryder in for tbc in 2 weeks time

    SCaddict · 26/04/2015 at 22:33

Yep Rich has served his purpose and close to plateauing with a BE of 78 this weekend but you could leave it a week or two if you have other priorities.

Tarrant is definitely a priority this week for ALL coaches that don't already have him.

My trades at this early stage will be Bartel –> Tarrant and Newnes –> WhiteX as I already have Kraks which will leave me with a sizable war chest of $1M for upgrades over the next month.

      ATeam12345 · 26/04/2015 at 22:55

      a million already!?!

        SCaddict · 26/04/2015 at 23:09

Yeah I'll have to rename my side Addicts Cashcows as after these trades I'll have 18 players less than $350K all likely to appreciate in price not including TBC who appears to have reached his ceiling more or less.

Will probably take some hits in league matches over the next month but should be a beast by the byes. Given how flaky premos have been this season it probably makes sense to invest in rookies right now as most of them are performing superbly anyway.

Eventually the waters should settle around the byes on which premos should be our upgrade targets. That's my strategy in 2015 fwiw.

          jewels · 27/04/2015 at 12:44

hey mate how many trades you expect to have after byes?

            SCaddict · 27/04/2015 at 22:23

Hard to say jewels. The plan is to be fully upgraded by the end of the byes. Hoping to have about 6-8 trades left at that stage although that will depend on how many more major injuries I cop between now and then.

      @TheNoLanguage · 26/04/2015 at 22:58

Good call. I'm gonna leave Rich one more week and get Krak and Taz in for NVB and McGrath.

      SideBySidebottom · 27/04/2015 at 11:42

Won't be touching Tarrant due to his continual injuries in the past.

        Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 12:17

Only need him to play 2-3 more games to make it worth while. He was never going to be a season long keeper anyway.

          SideBySidebottom · 27/04/2015 at 15:08

Yes, I'm hearing you Sarah. He did manage thirteen games in a row in 2012. As long as you're aware of the risk and take it on I'll be happy to congratulate you later if it pays off. I like the way he plays and hope he stays in one piece this year.

            Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 15:42

There is no way he'll still be in my side in 13 weeks!! 4-5 will be enough.

      Trab Pukcip · 27/04/2015 at 15:59

Assuming with that type of $$ on the bench you are only going for head to head?

Marco_Polo94 · 26/04/2015 at 22:25

Have $540k community. Not sure I'm keen on upgrading any of my rookies yet tho as they all have low B/E. Is this the right move? Or should I be bringing in a fallen premo for larger point generation? I do have Brown out back who won't score much higher than his B/E, and I have lambert on my bench because I was thinking I would want him in my team once he is back. And I have Heaney. Should I upgrade these blokes?

    dognino · 26/04/2015 at 22:40

Out of those I'd go brown, you would have your pick of defenders, the big decision would be who.

    Juzzy · 27/04/2015 at 01:03

Upgrade Lambert for sure. He will be out for weeks. In the meantime you can grab your pick of the forwards.

    dannyyboyy · 27/04/2015 at 11:15

    yeah upgrade lambert this week

chris · 26/04/2015 at 22:26

2 trades this week. only used up 2 so far..

1st. heeney to krakour
2nd. should i go bellchambers or lamb to tarrant?

    Hazey · 26/04/2015 at 22:28

I’m Keeping TBC for a Ryder upgrade when he bottoms out. Something to think about.

      SCaddict · 26/04/2015 at 22:43

I like the Ryder idea too Hazey. Once he drops below $500K he will become more appealing that's for sure but not a major priority right now.

thewhale · 26/04/2015 at 22:27

OUT Lamb ($117,300)IN R,Tarrant ($144,700) yes or a bad trade at moment have Isaac Heeney and $233,000 left
OUT Lambert ($102,400)IN L,Webb ($117,300) GOT THE KRAK

    Danners16 · 29/04/2015 at 13:03

    Sounds good

Mic · 26/04/2015 at 22:31

Thoughts on getting Lukas Webb in this week?

    Patch · 26/04/2015 at 22:36

Tarrant is the go this week.

      SideBySidebottom · 27/04/2015 at 11:48

      Until he suffers another injury.

        SideBySidebottom · 27/04/2015 at 15:09

        Actually, ignore that comment.

    Tony · 26/04/2015 at 23:39

Unfortunately he's a forward – could probably get him in if a defender.

Brillsy21 · 26/04/2015 at 22:36

Upgrade Brett Goodes to premo or downgrade to rookie e.g Kelly/Andrews?

    scrofl · 26/04/2015 at 22:56

Depends on your backline's structure. Personally I'm upgrading him, but that's only because I have the spare money to do so.

foxy · 26/04/2015 at 22:36

Thoughts on these trades would be appreciated

Out NVB and TBC

In Tarrant and Zorko (via dpp krak)

    SCaddict · 26/04/2015 at 22:50

Tarrant needs to come in but I wouldn't abandon NVB just yet. Crows as a whole had an absolute shocker today which always distorts plenty of scores.

Reckon the Crows will bounce back vigorously in the Showdown next weekend. Still has a very gettable BE of 64 but yes if he spuds it up next weekend then it's time to go.

Lach · 26/04/2015 at 22:38

Had tex walker from the start, thoughts on getting rid of him for Tarren?

    Dutch Oven · 27/04/2015 at 10:31

I'm thinking exactly the same thing

Sub vest · 26/04/2015 at 22:39

Manchester United just went 1-0 down and I scored horribly not a good weekend.

    SideBySidebottom · 27/04/2015 at 11:50

Following soccer is almost the definition of a bad weekend.

Matt · 26/04/2015 at 22:40

Podcast was good tonight but you left out the biggest bloody spud of the all. F***n NEWNES. We all got sucked in should I trade down to Kelly(ADE) or JK(GEE) type or upto a McDonald/Shaw/Hooker.
Thoughts? Please and Thankyou

    Pumper · 26/04/2015 at 22:45

If you've got Mcintosh, Oxley and Saad, i don't see why you couldn't downgrade but only if you're going to upgrade another rookie to a premium.

KINGYS · 26/04/2015 at 22:42

Who do i trade Robbie Tarrant in for? One of Salem, Hogan, M.Clark, Lonie to go out for tarrant

    Pumper · 26/04/2015 at 22:44

Clark would be the main one but you wouldn't get much money lefted over unless you have a lot of extra cash anyway. Salem you'd make around 130k but his still making a lot of money.

      Luke · 27/04/2015 at 14:27

It doesn't really matter, because you bank about 80 to 130k plus what Tarrant appreciates! I would go Heaney if you can link

    cow roll · 28/04/2015 at 00:25

Lonie coz his easy games are over and his team is woeful.

Pumper · 26/04/2015 at 22:42

Advice please guys
Def: Enright, Fisher, Higgins, Newnes, Oxley, Saad (Mcintosh, Hamling)
Mid: Fyfe, Sloane, Selwood, Dangerfield, Swallow, CEY, Vanderberg, Krakouer (Heeney, Miller, Lambert)
Rk: Goldstein, Maric (Read)
Fwd: Swan, Gray, Martin, Zorko, Salem, Hogan (Clark, Lonie)
9.500 left over so not a lot of money left over.
Im not to sure what to do. I do want to keep trades, but i want to build up the extra money.
I know a lot of people want Tarrant in but Trading him for Clark will still have me under 100k and Salem is still making money. Thoughts on the Webb kid? Im thinking maybe holding and letting some of the rookies earn a bit more coin then downgrading and upgrading maybe a newnes to a hodge? My big plan is too get enoguh money and upgrade a Vanderberg or Miller to Rockliff once his price dips down.

1tsm0nty · 26/04/2015 at 22:45

Top work as always.

JJH · 26/04/2015 at 22:49

Is it wrong of me to swing in a Premium FWD in to the MIDs so that I can trade Heeney to Tarrant?
Doing so will make my MIDS run to M7, and will leave me with 3 on-field Rookies…worth it for a couple of weeks till they get slaughtered?

    dannyyboyy · 27/04/2015 at 11:11

its fine just keep in mind to swap him back, no problem with this move while we all have so many rookies on field

min0008 · 26/04/2015 at 22:52

Who do i trade Robbie Tarrant in for? Heeney or Van Berlo (via dpp Krakouer)?
Is Newnes to Kelly a good trade or keep him?

    SCaddict · 26/04/2015 at 23:00

Probably NVB out of those two although I'll be keeping both myself for now.

    @TheNoLanguage · 26/04/2015 at 23:01

I'd go NVB. Higher B/E and I think unless he's injured Heeney has a lot more cash to make.

    Jase · 27/04/2015 at 12:13

Depends on the length, if any, of Heeney's injury. If he plays, NVB if you have to. I reckon Heeneys got more mooing to do. Im keeping both. Had Anderson still so traded him out for Tarrant via the Kraken.

ATeam12345 · 26/04/2015 at 22:57

Rocky is going to be tasty in a few weeks!

    SCaddict · 26/04/2015 at 23:14

Yeah as per the title of this week's podcast there will be an unprecedented amount of premo bargains this season given how up and down their scoring has been. Rocky is probably the best example albeit injury induced.

GAJ will also be on the menu whenever he gets that shoulder right.

    Donavan · 26/04/2015 at 23:23

Yes, have plans to get him in around the byes.

Hope to get a full premo midfield around byes, or whenever Ablett is ready to buy-in.

Have – Fyfe, Sloan, Lewis, Priddis
Looking to add – Rocky, Ablett, Watson & Kennedy in the next 6-7 weeks, although may need to wait on Ablett.

Winter · 26/04/2015 at 23:04

Out: Van Berlo & Minson In: Tarrant & Goldstein?
Also have Newnes who's really annoying me and i have Lambert on the bench who i want to get rid of for someone who's playing but because of my salary cap of about 1k, i am forced to trade down Van Berlo to Tarrant to allow me to get Goldstein from Minson who was omitted which really worries me…. I'm not really in the mood to face another doughnut this week so i really want Minson out!
Cheers :))

    Tony · 26/04/2015 at 23:43

I reckon Lambert is worth definitely holding. Bottom priced so will cost you $ to trade him, plus his DPP makes him a perfect candidate for the emergency loophole and/or VC loophole.

Marco_Polo94 · 26/04/2015 at 23:07

Terrific podcast. Absolutely licking my lips at the amount of premos cropping up. All my rookies being prepped for slaughter. Next month or so is going to be FUN! Not sure I agree on moving Heeney on yet, so I will wait on him. Lambert is a different story, was planning to hold but seems like the best option for me to snare Tarrant. Shall be very interesting to see how many lose patience with Newnes this week. I'm going to hold myself as I have to keep faith. Have a good week everyone!

    throttlefinger · 26/04/2015 at 23:14

With you Marco. Think he still has some cash to make for us. Will be a slower train with that 7. Doing the same trade as you.

    @HJ_Mitch · 26/04/2015 at 23:22

Wonderful advice and summation, Marco! The GOLD is coming for those that are patient. sluicing is the key! We have to sort the nuggets from the crap that wafts through our selections each week. The key this season for success more than any year before will be timing. When to upgrade, when to upgrade, when to pick your keepers. Sift through the pickings each week, don't react too early and time your run. It's early days yet! Trade numbers in the mid to late season are going to be most important this season.

Josh · 26/04/2015 at 23:09

Who do I trade out to bring in Krakouer in the midfield?
Heeney (232,500) OR Van Berlo (293,400)

    SCaddict · 26/04/2015 at 23:23

Be patient with Heeney I say. The kid's a star in the making and any rookie is entitled to at least one time out especially at the Freo cauldron. Could also be a useful loophole too if he misses a week or two.

L. Gibbs · 26/04/2015 at 23:09

who should I get in for newnes? Looking at smith and which rookie should I trade for Krakour, Heeny or nakia cockatoo

throttlefinger · 26/04/2015 at 23:14

Fantastic podcast. Always love when you talk about the golden age of fantasy football.

Keeping it simple this week. Goodes out for Kelly. Lambert for Tarrant. Rest just need to pull their weight more.

Traderlyf · 26/04/2015 at 23:14

Touk Miller to Krak
Heeney to Krak

Obviously hedging towards miller to krak but heeney has the low score to his name now affecting his BE

    Traderlyf · 26/04/2015 at 23:23

just saw millers break even is -48…. might have to ditch heeney

      dannyyboyy · 27/04/2015 at 11:08

      good choice

Canny the Manny · 26/04/2015 at 23:21

Gday lads, what a weekend!
I managed to score 2287 this week which got me a weekly ranking of 272 and got my overall ranking back into the top 10,000.
Yeah, I’ll personally be going Heeney to Krackers to give me a handy fwd dpp in the guts then go Tommy Lamb to Robbie Tarrant.
I’ll be targeting Tommy Rockliff in the next few weeks with Van Berlo looking the prime cash cow to execute at this stage. Also might have to paint the fence with Newnes and Goodes down back (1 up, 1 down).

Also want to thank you Jock and Co for the morale boosting motivation and comfort, especially in the podcasts these last couple of weeks. It was a dark time and I was considering giving up all together, but it’s paid off so thanks lads!

Paul · 26/04/2015 at 23:30

Keep or trade tex and if trade, who to?

daddyotoole · 26/04/2015 at 23:31

FWD:Gray, Dusty, Goddard, Swan, Salem, Hogan, Clarke, Lonie.
Who, if anyone, should make way for Tarrant?

    Canny the Manny · 26/04/2015 at 23:34

Lonie or Clark. But they will all still rise and you’ll be using a valuable trade to bring Tarrant in. Ask yourself what a trade is worth.

    Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 10:07

I'm cutting Salem. Don't like what I've seen from him and Dees have Freo, Swans and Hawks in the next 3 weeks.

@t_woof · 26/04/2015 at 23:44

Superb podcast as per usual.

Although i'm a little surprised Jack Newnes wasn't mentioned, as he's been the subject of hefty discussion on The Standing Room this weekend. Will be very interesting to see how much his ownership drops after Round 5.

Right now, i will most likely hold him. Krak and Tarrant appear the Round 5 priorities.

A few wanting give Salem the chop already. I'll be holding for at another week minimum.

Enjoy the week ahead all.

    SCaddict · 27/04/2015 at 00:43

Indeed there is no hurry to get rid of Salem posting a very respectable score against the Tiges.

With Freo this weekend the ball could be in the Dees backline heaps.

      Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 10:09

He scored most of those points late and the Dees have Freo, Swans and Hawks in the next 3 weeks. I'm culling Salem this week. Haven't seen anything in him when he plays to make me think he can stand up against those teams. Having said that, now that I'm trading him out I'm sure he'll come out and score 90+!!!

Tony · 26/04/2015 at 23:44

Everyone who's thinking of trading Newnes – be warned that I will be starting him on the bench next week. Virtually guarantees he will ton up.

    Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 10:10

Thanks Tony! That's very selfless of you!!

      Lazy_Simmo · 27/04/2015 at 11:26

Yep bloody good of you Tony. Cheers for the heads up mate 😉

dognino · 26/04/2015 at 23:45

I'm looking forward to picking up Rockliff early once he has dropped in price. I only have 6 rd 11 byes so I need to look to pick a couple up to even out the bye rounds for me

Derek · 27/04/2015 at 00:08

I started with TBC at R2, hoping to get 6 games from him, bit of cash gain and be able to trade up to a fallen premium. The premiums have fallen faster than I thought and Tom isn’t killing the scoring.

Should I wait or trade up now. I would have $545k to spend

Goody is my R1

    Traderlyf · 27/04/2015 at 00:10

id wait a little longer for the premiums to drop

    daddyotoole · 27/04/2015 at 00:21

Mummy and Sauce both have 160+ BE's so I am probably going to wait another round (at least) to trade TBC to them

      derek · 27/04/2015 at 11:11

Sauce has one more week before his big round 2 score drops out of his 3 week average. Leave one more week for him.

Mummy has one more week with his poor round 3 score before that drops out.

So both players will be ripe to be picked after one more week.

Paul · 27/04/2015 at 00:15

Trade tex to Goldstein while putting tbc in the forward line?

    SCaddict · 27/04/2015 at 00:46

Sounds a reasonable move. Whilst it's usually not advisable to trade out your uninjured premos I think we can safely say Tex won't be anywhere near a top 6 forward this season after a month of data now.

Goldy is the must have ruck this season and it could be a long time before he is sub $600K for those waiting patiently to pick him up on the cheap.

stevie · 27/04/2015 at 00:52

Hello community,
In this time of forsakedness I have remained calm, made logical trades and backed in my premo selections. My reward is my current rank of 643! A rank I could never have reached without listening to the many wisdoms of the father of fantasy, Mr Jock. In years gone by sure I might have traded out a player like Cripps but not this time, i held firm, I even 'backed my gut' and played him on field! This is just one example of my personal growth as a supercoacher which I give all credit to jock and the inner sanctum.
With that being said, I need some thoughts on my trades this week.
Which is the higher priority between bringing in Tarrant or getting rid of Goodes?

    SCaddict · 27/04/2015 at 01:01

Taz is the must have cash cow this week. All other considerations are secondary.

Are you planning something else with your other trade as you could use that to do something with Goodesy as well?

    derek · 27/04/2015 at 11:01

I don't think even Higgo could work out a wiz-bang trade move to be able to trade Goodes to taz, you might have to use both trades this week and deal with both.

    Lazy_Simmo · 27/04/2015 at 11:40

I'm with ya Stevie (albeit I only scored 2176). Having a pearla start to the season myself and all kudos go to Jock and the entire community. I too used the community ordaned wisdom to hold Cripps and managed to loop hole JettsAnderson for his score. I too still have Goodes warming pine but dont think he is a massive risk. If isn't named again (shouldn't be too many changes to Doggie lineup after giving Crows touch up) then no concerns for another week there.
Thinking at this stage I'll be axing Jed >Kraks & Klambert >Tazz leaving me 26 trades. Might be short on the scoring but can't ignore the early cash to chest. Huge thanks again community.

    stevie · 27/04/2015 at 12:15

I'm using one trade on the krak, the other im leaning towards bringing in Tarrant. I have lambert and lamb and doing a straight swap will leave me with $26k or I could pull the pin on heeney and bank his cash. I think I'll deal with Goodes when a better downgrade comes of age.

nicholas · 27/04/2015 at 01:21

Was thinking tbc to franklin and lamber to Tarrant. The only problem with this is that I have 50k left in the bank and I still have newnes and Heaney. I alrdy have Krak so that's nor problem. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Donavan · 27/04/2015 at 09:17

    Sounds like a good plan.

Don't worry about Heaney, if you can just hold him on the bench for a few weeks, there is more $$$ in him.

Newnes will have to wait 1 more week, but I think getting Tarrant & Buddy this week makes sense.

    SideBySidebottom · 27/04/2015 at 12:16

If you have Belch in the forward line as ruck cover I wouldn't trade him. You'll be able to upgrade to Ryder later and maintain your structure.

James · 27/04/2015 at 01:28

T Miller, Heeney, or Salem out for Tarrant?

    dannyyboyy · 27/04/2015 at 11:03

heeney if you can swing someone into the mids temporarily.

    Danners16 · 29/04/2015 at 13:02

Heeney, other two will still go up in price

Juzzy · 27/04/2015 at 03:38

Similar dilemma to most. Double down to Krak and Tarrant or ….
I can go Van Berlo to Krak and TBC to Franklin
This is difficult. I want Krak and Tarrant, But I can get Buddy now and I think with his draw he will go nuts.
Also reluctant to let go of TBC. He was a forward line solution to ruck issues but 60's won't cut it.
Will sleep on it 🙂

    Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 10:14

You have to grab the cashcows when they present themselves… no ifs, ands or buts! Franklin can wait, Tarrant can't . Just bench TBC if you're not happy with his scores and start a rookie you are happy with. TBC is there for ruck cover. Better scores would be nice too but what was the main reason you selected him?

      dannyyboyy · 27/04/2015 at 11:02

double down man, sarahs right buddy can wait, get your base structure and cash generation sorted first

Tyler · 27/04/2015 at 07:16

Should I hold Wines? Got plenty of cover and got a solid 2100+ score without him, plus can use him as a loophole

    dannyyboyy · 27/04/2015 at 10:57

sounds like you can save yourself a sideways trade right there

Josh · 27/04/2015 at 07:56

Scored an avg 2074 with sloane as my captain.

Was thinking along the lines of these trades
Newnes to McDonald

Salem to tarrant

Nelson to krakour
Which of those three trades would you suggest doing?

    Donavan · 27/04/2015 at 09:13

    Definitely do Nelson to Krakour.

Glorin · 27/04/2015 at 08:00

Have had Harley bennell in from start as point of difference, but his 89 ave is quite underwhelming. Am thinking of downgrading him to Tarrent allowing me to move TBC to Goldy. ( leaving me 100k) Hate paying so much for goldy but also hate missing out on those points!

Right time to make the move or hold and hope he stinks it up against the hawks, with Bennell playing Brisbane?

    Donavan · 27/04/2015 at 09:10

If your bringing in Tarrent it needs to be this week before his price increases.

Goldy will perform well against the Hawks even if the North team get smashed (which could happen). The Hawks haven't got a top ruck to oppose Goldy.

I say do it this week in relation to Tarrent, and anytime is a good time to bring in Goldy, as I see him continuing to score between 110 and 140 most weeks.

    Danners16 · 29/04/2015 at 13:01

Hold Bennell, he has scored that badly, he is a consistent scorer, someone that you could rely on in your forward line

Matt · 27/04/2015 at 08:29

I have goodes on bench with hamling, should I downgrade goodes to kelly or wait for another rookie to emerge?

    Traderlyf · 27/04/2015 at 13:33

id ditch goodes as soon as possible. Kelly looks like a good option.

    Danners16 · 29/04/2015 at 13:00

Goodes to Kelly, you need reliable backup that won't be the sub

Luke · 27/04/2015 at 08:54

Who are the best defender options, mid-price verging on premium?

    derek · 27/04/2015 at 10:56

Simpson should do ok. cheaper than start of year and looking pretty good.

tom · 27/04/2015 at 09:09

should we be bringing in Jake Kelly/Harris Andrews this week? or wait for better rookie options?

    Pat · 27/04/2015 at 11:00

im going with Kelly. Downgrading Goodes and pocketing 100k

SupercoachFreak · 27/04/2015 at 09:27

Who should I get after trading Newnes out? In other words, who is the top defender below 460K

    SideBySidebottom · 27/04/2015 at 15:14

I don't think we'll know for a couple more weeks. Consider holding.

    Danners16 · 29/04/2015 at 12:59

I'm getting Hibberd in for him, an underpriced reliable premo

Gregory · 27/04/2015 at 10:53

Bartel to Tarrant. Is this a good move or do i need to bring a premo (gray/franklin) for bartel. I think the huge cash generation could help my other lines though.

Thoughts community?

    Tyler · 27/04/2015 at 18:47

Good move, tarrant isn't a must have, but with his breakeven he is looking mighty fine and bartel has to go he's out for 2 months+

Avzmo · 27/04/2015 at 11:17

This week I'm thinking Bellchambers out to Tarrant or Krakeour, like Tarrants security a little more, may also trade out NVB as he has become a very slow burner (if Heeney is alright to keep going)

    Ethan · 27/04/2015 at 12:09

Bellchambers has 300% job security. I would hold. he only has a BE of 60 so and facing a weak st kilda midfield.

TRIGGER HAPPY · 27/04/2015 at 11:26

Avoided most of the carnage this weekend though low scores from Def rookies hurt but that is the risk with rookies and don’t think I was alone there. Trades this week – McGrath – Tarrant and Anderson – Krak. Make a bit of cash but upside from there huge. Big thanks to Sloan for spudding it up as looking at Rich – Sloan in two weeks once the 60 drops his price. Tasty.

    JDogg · 27/04/2015 at 11:47

I thought the price corrections occur week to week now? No need to wait 2 weeks it dropped this morning.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 27/04/2015 at 11:53

True but that 60 stays in his rolling 3 round Avg so will affect his price in Rd 5 and Rd 6. So he will probably be around $50k cheaper come the end of Rd 6 unless he goes ballistic in next 2 weeks. Ie b/e 169 this week to stay at the same price. Will probably be around $575k at end of Rd 6.

Zak · 27/04/2015 at 11:29

Hey community, tossing around a few ideas.

What do people think of going –

Heeney > Krak
Swing Krak into the forward and Lambert into the midfield to have a strategic donut?

Or I could just go Lambert > Krak or Tarrant.

Ultimately I would like to ride Heeney through. But I think having the loophole
is important this year.

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 27/04/2015 at 11:35

Loopholes only good if that player plays late in the round. Tiges only play on Sunday twice up to byes best team to loop with is WC or lions as they have 5 Sunday games up to the byes IMHO.

      Zak · 27/04/2015 at 11:44

      Thats true.

        derek · 27/04/2015 at 14:39

loopholes are ruining my weekends. Friday loophole, means I have to check every game for late outs in case I need to get another E on a bench player…exhausting.

          SCOTLAND THE BRAVE · 27/04/2015 at 22:58

Download the footyalerts app. Sends you late outs and subs, so does the work for you. Hard enough as it is this app makes it a bit easier.

TOPHAWK1 · 27/04/2015 at 11:58

I was planning to give Newnes the boot this week after his recent insipid performances. However, his breakeven is manageable at 113, and his scoring despite being low, has not been an absolute disaster.

The reason Newnes may get another reprieve is that after watching the Adelaide- Bulldogs and Geelong- Kangas matches, a much more urgent problem/opportunity has arisen.

1- The problem: TAYLOR WALKER
* After his round one heroics, his form since has been ordinary to say the least. And yesterday, he was nothing short of disgraceful with only 26 SC points. Perhaps the responsibility of being captain is sinking in and the pressure is starting to show..
* His breakeven now sits at 147.
* There is a possibility he will lift, but after the last 3 rounds (Especially yesterday) I can see him cracking the ton against Port.
* Very high probability he will drop in price significantly.

2- The opportunity: ROBBIE TARRANT
* Ran riot for North with 121 SC points and averages 114 SC over first 2 games.
* Still priced at $144 K till his price reset after round 5.
* Has a current breakeven of -147. The highest of any player currently.
* His price will skyrocket with even an "average" game next round. (approx $90K or more with another 100+ score)

As conserving trades and cash generation/preservation this one trade move on my part could tick all 3 boxes.

1- Getting rid of Taylor Walker is a calculated risk and is likely save me $30 K in his potential price reduction.
2- Getting in Robbie Tarrant is all upside. Current cheap price and huge price rise expected after next round.
3- This one trade will generate me $275K for the war chest right now in the trade itself and hopefully another $125K in price revaluations after the next round. That is a $400K net gain for my team in just 1 trade.
4- The $275K now in my war chest can be used to upgrade to a premium forward,(Eg Franklin), fallen premium mid (Rockliff, JPK, Parker, etc) in coming weeks, and getting rid of Newnes (Unless he lifts in the meantime) for an in form defender. (Pittard, Hooker, Seedsman etc)
P.S Got Krakouer already
Other than that despite a shocking score this of 1928 after 2237 week prior I have to keep faith in my structures and plan carefully for important player moves as the season progresses.

Gotta look forward to the next round and filing memories of round 4 into ancient history.

    I N Pieman · 27/04/2015 at 12:40

One of those weeks TopHawk. Seen many a quality coach slip under 2k this week. I like that trade. Immediate cash injection, & you'll get another from Tarrant. But the way things are going at the moment he'll probably get run over this week.

      TOPHAWK1 · 27/04/2015 at 12:53

Yeah, the Hawks will probably squash Taz this week and Walker will grow another leg against Port. Still has to be worth the risk this move. I cant see Walker being a keeper this season as his form has been all over the place. I need the cash to go to a Franklin or Roughead at some point anyway. Might as well start planning for that now and bank some good coin.

        I N Pieman · 27/04/2015 at 13:24

I wouldnt see walker as a keeper either. Buddy is a lot more mobile & a better option for mine. Theme of the season is trade someone & they turn it around. After back to back 30’s I traded miller to NVB. Wish I could take that back! NVB was putrid yesterday. Lucky he was on the pine

          @t_woof · 27/04/2015 at 14:03

I did the same trade INP, Miller > NVB before NVB went up. Tossed up Miller or Anderson too….hahahaha

Only upside was holding Anderson allowed me to get VandenBerg's score last weekend.

          I N Pieman · 27/04/2015 at 14:18

It looked like a good trade T woof. But the SC gods said no it isn’t!!! And thine shall be punished. Might have to get rid of NVB this week. His BE is too high

            @t_woof · 27/04/2015 at 14:45

It sure did INP!! Miller was battling to hit 40, then comes out and goes bang, bang & Jed cops the vest…..brutal.

Contemplating the same with NVB. Made quick fire cash, could be time to give him the chop for Krak.

          Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 14:55

I did that too. Worst trade of the year so far. Spent $100k to do it and then Miller has ended up scoring more and making more money… damn you VB!!! Now that I've traded him for Krak I'm sure he'll win the Showdown Medal this Sunday and score 150!!!

          Charlesy · 28/04/2015 at 11:21

Lol. My hand is raised here and my head bowed. I too did this trade. Now I’ve got rid of him to krak I know that I’ll be crying with Sarah when vb slaughters it this week!

    derek · 27/04/2015 at 14:36

I would hold Tex unless he gets injured. This was your Shark move, your Bruyen move all rolled into one, and you have to see it through.

I started with Cloke. I have had to put up with snickering around the watercooler but I am staying the path. Just need one monster score to roll through his average for 3 weeks and I can walk proud again. The problem with Tex was he did it week 1 and wasn't able to get as much of a price kick as he would have later in year.

You must have someone else who you can trade Taz to? one of the lamb's?

      TOPHAWK1 · 27/04/2015 at 17:55

      Hi Derek,

I have traded Lamb out already for Krakouer last week. Besides Walker, my other forwards are Hogan, Clark, Salem, Gray, Bontempelli,( DPP) D Martin,(DDP) D Swan (DPP), Bellchambers (DPP) and Krakouer (DPP).

The only other one I see as an option instead of Tex is Salem (271K) as a sacrifice to get Tarrant.

      your thoughts would be great.

TRIGGER HAPPY · 27/04/2015 at 12:24

That’s the risk with KPP. Can go big but can go scary low if they don’t get near the ball.

Guest · 27/04/2015 at 12:31

Can you stop mentioning that shit limousine business every week, and Wayne bringing in goldstein what an idiot, absolutely no idea

    I N Pieman · 27/04/2015 at 12:45

Bit harsh guest. The prizes the Limo boys have put up are awesome. Certainly worth a shout out. I already have Goldy. Bringing a ruckman is this year over 600k is fraught with danger. Goldy's opposition this week was very ordinary. Securing Krak & Tarrant far more important.

    Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 13:59

Do you think this page just magically funds itself? It needs sponsors, so good on em.

      BundyBear · 27/04/2015 at 14:23

Im with you sarah, Well said. Go get a life Guest

    SideBySidebottom · 27/04/2015 at 14:32

    Are you Wayno's father, guest?

BundyBear · 27/04/2015 at 12:36

I have NicNat and TBC as rucks. Am not worried about trading them. As long as they play. Not spending more for the sake of 30 or 40 points. Other more important issues to sort out elsewhere. As long as rucks play then its all good. Just my opinion thats all

    I N Pieman · 27/04/2015 at 12:51

Nic Nat was unlucky. He finished the game on 91 & was scaled back to 83. Which doesn't happen often. No need to move on warm bodies unless they are super spudding it like Malcheski.

I N Pieman · 27/04/2015 at 12:49

I can't remember ever having a worse week from 6 defenders. Combined average of 54 each. James Kelly 35 Um what. Thumper was my best defender with 83. Oh the pain! The problem is it's too early to work out who to go to. And believe me that day can't come soon enough.

    BundyBear · 27/04/2015 at 13:22

Yeah its been crazy so far. Everytime i think I made a good move I get bitten. Ahead on last year though. When they said that its a long term goal. I didnt think 10 years LOL. Every year I start of with good intentions but then the supergods decide otherwise. im begining to believe there is no supergod. its all just luck and chances. Chances I like. Luck should be reserved for lotto. The only thing chances and luck have is in common is that there is always next week. Having said all that, My biggest problem is the same as most. That damn backline. It looks good on Friday afternoon. Then it all goes downhill from there, The drug free policy just isnt working LOL

      Locked and Loaded · 27/04/2015 at 13:32

Pieman I honestly don't believe we'll be able to rely on any and that is why sideways trading down back especially is nuts just stick with what you've got and upgrade those rookies to those you think will be most consistent

      I N Pieman · 27/04/2015 at 13:33

Plenty of luck involved Bundy. Gary to Sloane last week looked good then bang a 60. What! Just when you think you’ve made a good move the gods slap you across the face & say not so fast buddy. Bartel looks amazing coming into the season then whack. All you can do is keep throwing punches & hope one connects

    Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 14:01

Same here Pieman. Defence was woeful this week.

    Caz · 27/04/2015 at 14:29

What do you think of mcgovern from westcoast dual position intercept marks, he looks good

Locked and Loaded · 27/04/2015 at 12:50

If Goodes is not named I will keep him agan and wait for a fallen premium. Do people think Harris Andrews or Jake Kelly will be there saviours for Goodes? Honest question.
Trades this week
Ahmed Saad > Tarrant or Krakouer
If Krakouer I will be swingin Bont forward and using Krak as another midfield cash cow.
Or should I go Heeney > Krak and Saad > Tarrant??

    Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 14:05

I don't think either of those boys (kelly and andrews) have very good job security.
My trades this week are VB to Krak and Salem to Tarrant. Think Salem has been lucky to make as much as he has and I'm happy to jump off the rollercoaster at the first opportunity!! Dees have a tough 3 weeks coming up.

      Locked and Loaded · 27/04/2015 at 14:14

Hmmmm Salem still has a little more to make where as for me Saad is done. In that case would you trade Saad or Salem?

        Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 14:19

If we're talking Ahmed Saad, then I would agree. I don't have him so for me Salem is the one who's making way. You can't miss out on a rookie who has a BE of -182!!!

      I N Pieman · 27/04/2015 at 14:22

Can’t help but think Of the preseason game between freo & Melb. Salem was awful. Pine this week Id say or I might even get rid of him.

        Locked and Loaded · 27/04/2015 at 15:24

Can't see him scoring well at all Pie man i'm considering saad salem double downgrade to krak and tarrant!! Goodes survives another week

          I N Pieman · 27/04/2015 at 15:35

Goodes had a good game in the 2’s. I actually hope he doesn’t play. A BE of almost 100 is nasty. Krak & Tarrant appear good options

            Locked and Loaded · 27/04/2015 at 15:55

Let's hope he's not named. Bulldogs beat an in form crows can't see too many if any changes being made!

      Matt · 27/04/2015 at 16:58

Hi Sarah, do you think it’s worth trading goodes to Kelly or just hold him a bit longer?

Mike · 27/04/2015 at 13:22

Jock if you are the father of fantasy football then I’m going to have to call child services on you.

I’ve been getting flogged every week by Supercoach this year.

    I N Pieman · 27/04/2015 at 13:35

Careful they don’t send Al Clarkson around.

BundyBear · 27/04/2015 at 13:29

I traded Heeney for Krak. The benches are made of pine. No need to have dead wood on a pine bench. Worked out I needed a swing in the middle. Krak fills that need till he goes to the slaughterhouse and replaced by a fallen premium in a couple of weeks. be it forward or mid. Just glad i never got Tex. Spuds belong in market garden.

Eric · 27/04/2015 at 13:40

getting ride of newnes this week… not sure who to bring in?

Cale Hooker, Brodie Smith or Alex Rance?

I have 708,000 in the bank..

and my defence is…. Gibson, Johnson, (newnes trade), mcintosh, saad, oxley, brown and andrews.

any help would be great thanks.

    Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 14:07

I'd go Smith. Crows were shocking on the weekend and shouldn't be that bad again. Smith will be the pick of the defenders this year in my opinion. Maybe wait a week though as he'll come down in price this week.

      Eric · 27/04/2015 at 14:57

Yer I was thinking on waiting a week for Smith's price drop.. so maybe I'll wait this week and see what happens.

The only thing is this years supercoach is so up and down I just want to get in the premo's sooner rather then later.

      But thanks for your advise

        Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 15:45

We all want to get to full premo as fast as possible. The thing is, that $20k (or however much) Smith should drop next week could be the difference in being able to afford your next upgrade. It's worth waiting this week. His BE is 153.

    SideBySidebottom · 27/04/2015 at 14:57

I'm holding Newnes specifically due to the lack of premium options. McDonald is firming but a few more weeks of consistency is required to earn his spot in my side.

      Locked and Loaded · 27/04/2015 at 15:26

Holding Newnes also will take one good week for him to start generating some decent scores the only way is up for him

DigDug · 27/04/2015 at 13:58

could someone explain the bye strategy. What would one normally go for? spreading the points evenly through each round? trading in and out on those rounds?

What should be the main objective?

    Dave · 28/04/2015 at 00:17

My strategy is to try and get a reasonably even spread early in the season, so you don't need too many trades at bye time to get a team on the field.

A couple of weeks out from the byes, I'll start only bring in players who are out in Round 13 (or 12 at a stretch), cutting rookies who have the Round 11 bye first. As soon as the first bye passes, grab a premium or two who've already had their bye by trading out Round 12/13 rookies, and repeat the next week.

Hopefully by this point you'll have a decent team to play Round 13 and have collected 4 or more extra premiums for your side for the run home.

Hi guys,

This season I picked in Fyfe, Griffin, Dangerfield as started mids, with grey, swan, bontempelli to link into my fed line! Had no confidence in midfield value this season!

My starting rookies are Cripps, Heaney, CEY, van den berg, miller, combined with Salem, Clark, hogan! All scoring well, next 4 weeks should be fun trading!

Good luck to all

holty · 27/04/2015 at 14:51

great podcast again lads. ive dropped from 270 after rd2 to 13000 due to injuries and more importantly not listening to you boys with your fine wisdom. ive reluctantly held tight not trading in Goldy trying to keep trades but after his weekend score and Wayno’s rant, cant hold off anymore. he is smashing all rucks and averaging more than 30 points to them all which is huge.

enough of my rambling, question is:

who out of Tarrant and Krak should i get in?

    Gordo · 27/04/2015 at 15:04

I'm prefer tar rant out of the two reckon he has better js

    Locked and Loaded · 27/04/2015 at 15:30

David · 27/04/2015 at 15:13

If I have TBC in the ruck I can’t trade him for say tarrant a fwd unless I somehow get TBC into my forward line right

    @t_woof · 27/04/2015 at 15:48

Pretty much, or trade a forward out at the same time using 2 x trades.

Would need to be trading in a ruck to allow that to happen.

E.G. Trade out Lamb and Gas Chambers. Slot Tarrant into the fwd vacancy, then you'd need to trade a ruckmen in to fill the ruck vacancy.

@dimSIMpson · 27/04/2015 at 15:19

Looking at the respective break evens of Tarrant (-141) and Krakour (-100),
I think every coach worth their salt will look to get them in.

Problem is, Midfield looks like
Fyfe, Heppell, Neale, D Beams, Griffin, Bontempelli,
CEY, Cripps (Vandenberg, Heeney and Miller)

Swan, Franklin, Martin, Ryder
Hogan, Salem (Clark, Lonie)

Not sure what to do!

    Locked and Loaded · 27/04/2015 at 15:31

Trade them in for Salem and Clarke canot miss out on pumping up that warchest and the cash you'll make from them

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 27/04/2015 at 15:35

Fairly simple if u want them trade in your rookies. Heeney – Krak. Or Salem/Lonie – Krak & Tarrant. You may make an extra $40-50k on your current rooks at the end of Rd 5 but will get $150k plus if u bring in the money makers to probably sit on your bench

    The Bont · 27/04/2015 at 22:55

I'd say you'll have to just miss out on them. Not worth the trades to jump off your rookies when they've hardly gained any cash. All of your rookies are scoring very well and have plenty more to give.

      The Bont · 27/04/2015 at 22:56

The way I'm trading them in is through Kane Lambert and Jed Anderson – neither playing at the moment, not prepared to get rid of my other rookies.

Sam · 27/04/2015 at 15:20

Is Bartel to Tarrant worth the huge cash $$, or do i need to be bringing in a ultra premo for bartel?

Bailey · 27/04/2015 at 15:26

Can someone please explain the scaling rule

I N Pieman · 27/04/2015 at 15:40

Interesting news that Isaac Heeney is not injured. Horse said he subbed him for tactical reasons. Despite the 7 Id rather get rid of NVB

    Tom · 27/04/2015 at 16:25

    Same here.

Trading in Cripps and Tarrant looking for cash, everyone Premo i have traded in has turned to crap.

I'm just hoping to get ahead after the byes with my cash generation.

max · 27/04/2015 at 15:55

Hi everyone who to trade bellchambers for?

Ryder, Nic Nat or smokey Grundy?

I already have Goldy as my number ruck.

And $290,000 in the bank

    Bailey · 27/04/2015 at 16:07

In the same situation, leaning towards Blicavs. I don’t plan on spending anymore than 100k extra

      max · 27/04/2015 at 16:34

I'm not sold on Blicavs but with this new rule it's really hard to chose the "Right" ruckmen

I like how Blicavs gets around the ground but not sure on he's long term output.. Coz if I'm upgrading Bellchambers I won't a keeper!!

That's why I was thinking Ryder coz he plays forward as well.. But in saying that I don't really wanna pay 500k for him lol

I'm so torn hahaha.. Bloody supercoach!!

    yurkins · 27/04/2015 at 16:43

i am aiming at stefan martin as i think he is the real deal

      Bailey · 27/04/2015 at 17:28

TBC(319k) > Martin (558k) not exactly in my price range

TOM · 27/04/2015 at 16:00

Tarrant or Krak for Lambert? Or I could downgrade Heeney, Miller, Salem to one of them and Lambert to the other.

Harry · 27/04/2015 at 16:11

Is this a good trade. Swing Krakour into middle then trade out Anderson for Tarrant

    Danners16 · 29/04/2015 at 12:56

Yes, swing sets are vital in Supercoach

Tom · 27/04/2015 at 16:27

Mine is 100k SALARY + $11,150,000 TEAM VALUE.

= $11,250,000

SuperCoach Kid · 27/04/2015 at 16:33

Is having Lonie/Clark/Salem/hogan/Tarrant all playing on the field to much risk? (thats providing Gray doesnt play this week again, if so ill drop one to the bench)

i traded NVB and Tex to tarrant and krak, 650k in the war chest

luke · 27/04/2015 at 17:34

Strongly considering Daniel rich to scott thompson in the midfield. Only Adelaide bloke who came to play on the weekend. Breakeven of around 30, and looks like he has turned the clock back to the years he averaged 110. Only problem is he has the round 11 bye, but so does rich. Currently only 509K, 2 scores in the 130’s. Would be interested to hear people’s thoughts.

    luke · 27/04/2015 at 17:34

    Already have krak and tarrant

    @themisfitsSC · 28/04/2015 at 15:54

im a crows man scott Thompson long term is not a good option mate. if your upgrading rich it needs to be to a good younger option

    Danners16 · 29/04/2015 at 12:56

Wait one more week on Thompson, if you are looking for a POD, Brandon Ellis is around the same mark and hasn't scored under 90 yet and won't get tagged

Josh · 27/04/2015 at 18:10

Gray for Bont or Dahl
And newnes for who????

    TOPHAWK1 · 27/04/2015 at 21:41

Van Berlo or Lamb to Tarrant?

I won't have any loopholes if I trade Lamb

    Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 19:32

Van Berlo. You need loopholes this year as the captain is so hard to pick.

      Disco Stew · 28/04/2015 at 11:03

Should I trade Heeney or Lambert to Tarrant

        SideBySidebottom · 28/04/2015 at 13:45

    Danners16 · 29/04/2015 at 12:54

NVB, he has maxed out in price

Mike · 27/04/2015 at 18:15

what to do? i want to trade in krakouer and tarrant this week, but I want to keep Lambert and Lamb as loopholes options who should i trade out from my team?

Mids – Fyfe, Pendle, Sloane, Griffen, Rich, Cripps, Ellis-Yolmen, Vandenberg, Heeney, Anderson, Lambert
Fwd – Gray, D.Martin, Swan, Bellchambers, Salem, Hogan, Clark, Lamb

    Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 19:33

I'd go either Salem, Clark or Anderson.

    TOPHAWK1 · 27/04/2015 at 22:51

Exactly Mike. You have to play "loopholes".

Well, keep Heeney as will be your mid loophole and Gray your fwd loophole this week.

    My advice is this:

    Lamb >Tarrant.
    Lambert> Krakouer.

The best investment trades right now.

Rick · 27/04/2015 at 18:48

I have 150 k in the bank. Next round I will be looking to trade out vandabgerg OR yoleman with breakevens of -20 and -14 respectively. And trade in rockliff when he dropps massively in price. I am predicting him to score a 70-80. Thoughts?

    Sarah · 27/04/2015 at 19:34

If he scores only a 70-80 then he'll drop in price a few more weeks, so wait til he bottoms out in price.

    Ryan · 27/04/2015 at 19:40

Trading out vandenberg or cey is ill-advised, both will go up in price for several weeks

      Dee · 29/04/2015 at 15:39

      I agree with Ryan…

I don't go a season without it. Totally worth it.

      TOPHAWK1 · 27/04/2015 at 21:35

Are SC scores "live" throughout matches if subscribing to SC gold? Currently I watch free live fantasy scores and use these for a rough guide as an indicator of player performance in Supercoach.

        Sarah · 28/04/2015 at 07:53

I think the 'live' scores come with the Herald Sun subscription but Gold gives you all the break evens and predicted scores. Also tells you who everyone else is trading in and out of their teams. I find it particularly useful in identifying the cash cows too, although these days I keep my own spreadsheet for that, but it's still very useful.

        luke · 28/04/2015 at 19:41

If you have Android, download this app: http://www.footyinfo.com. has dream team and supercoach scores live and pretty accurate.

Heeney's BE is still only 36, should play this week, and has shown he has the potential to keep a strong average. Hold.

    Nato · 28/04/2015 at 08:41

yeah my thoughts too Bont. My question then becomes who to bring in for Lamb (Krak or Tarrant)?
Krak looks very solid, but tarrant has shown he can go big. But can he keep it up?

    Thoughts community?

had both from the start, Tarrant will have the odd low game but believe he will stay around the 90 mark as the year goes on, and he is always and injury concern…..

    @themisfitsSC · 28/04/2015 at 15:49

    yup spot on mate

Brent · 28/04/2015 at 08:54

Looking at holding one of P. Hanley or B. Crouch in my draft league until they are fit. I'm assuming they wont be good to go before the end of the bye rounds.
Which one should i choose?

Brent · 28/04/2015 at 08:56

Would you rather Treloar or Parker in a draft league?

Adam Bailes · 28/04/2015 at 09:49

I have a bad head

Holty · 28/04/2015 at 12:06

Does anyone know how long R Gray is out for?

    SideBySidebottom · 28/04/2015 at 13:51

He's reported as "in doubt" for the showdown. So potentially could play this week but unlikely. Not too far away by the sound of it.

      Holty · 28/04/2015 at 14:07

      Cheers bud. Definately holding then

Rick · 28/04/2015 at 15:16

I find it funny how this is only my second year in supercoach and last year I finished in the top 1000 and at the moment I am sitting on 5000th with not a big difference in points between 1000-5000. The reason I tell yuo this is last year I had no bloody idea what I was doing, the reason I finished so well in my first year was because I went with my GUT. Dont forget to BACK IN YOUR GUT. Dont do backflips on players who had a couple bad weeks. HOLD HOLD HOLD

@themisfitsSC · 28/04/2015 at 16:05

people talking to many trades learn from previous weeks and talk, ppl cut cripps – scored 172, ppl bought in roughead.. enough said….. let the teams and players settle in don't get excited by a big score or hit the trade button due to a score lower than you wanted

    Holty · 28/04/2015 at 17:23

    Just like Walkers first week.

TheRedFox · 28/04/2015 at 21:27

With Minson omitted last week. With an available 590k, I can go after anyone, but who?

    TheRedFox · 28/04/2015 at 21:35

    Already got Goldie.

    Danners16 · 29/04/2015 at 12:53

Maric is consistent and Nic Nat also. If you can wait on a week, maybe look at Mumford

      TheRedFox · 29/04/2015 at 15:32

mmm. Not keen on a donut. Grundy? Is Witts a threat to him?

    Jambo · 30/04/2015 at 19:46

    Stefan Martin.

JimmyWay · 29/04/2015 at 14:59

In a real pickle here community!! I’ve gone lamb for Tarrant this week and not sure if I should use my other trade for wines who remains on my bench to Cripps or Krak. I’m more turning towards Krak for more cash to upgrade but Cripps is looking good.

Thoughts much appreciated.
