Stunning work
Good onya jock
5 minutes in Jock, I know this will be good.
have a conundrum…
have Wines with no money but great bench cover….
mid premos are sloane, fyfe, parker, beams and jack steven.
hold wines and wait for fallen premo or trade?
cheers
Yes that sounds like a good idea.
Parker, Danger, Murphy and JPK will all fall in the coming weeks. Do you like the look of any of those 4?
Already have Parker mate. Dont like murphy at all (sorry Carlton supporters) but JPK looks mighty good! Could make some cash next week by trading some rookies to either krak or tarrant or maybe both. Then could get Ablett??!!
Way to early to even think about jumping on Ablett. He'll drop a fair bit of cash when he comes back to play first… then we can all jump on once we're confident in that shoulder of his!
Consider coniglio or going to bont
I am ranked 215, my highest ever by thousands. Could not have done it without you Jock and the community, so thank you.
With Bartel, I think there are more options for a keeper player in the back line rather than the forward line. I have Swan, Gray and Dusty up forward, and apart from maybe Buddy (always risky) I'm not sure if there is anyone else you could confidently say is a keeper.
I have Higgins, Newnes, and Shaw as supposed Premiums down back, so I'm going to swap Higgins and Bartel and bring in a Premo defender.
I am thinking that Brodie Smith would be the number 1 defensive priority to bring in, does anyone agree or disagree?
Smith is definitely the best defender in SuperCoach at the moment, if you can get him in, do it!
You have to ask yourself who is gonna score more over the course of the season.
B.Smith or Franklin?
I think you could throw in Goddard and K.Simpson too.
And possibly Zorko. Bit up and down but goes huge sometimes.
I'm hoping to have buddy, roughy and another premo fwd in my team come end of year
I'm going Bartel to Buddy. Think he's in for a very good year.
Thank you Jock, you are a good man.
tough question, but if you can pick one who will it be?
Hooker
McGovern
Fisher
Hunt
Hurley
Howe
Hibberd
Savage
Lumumba
Leaning towards McGovern, but undecided
Hibberd
HIbberd or Lumumba
Savage
Hurley definitely
Hibberd
McGovern if fit.
Really mate?? Ask a question with 9 different options you're going to get 9 different responses……..
Hurley for sure,
Bombers players are so under the radar this year
Jock! Wines to who? Selwood, Mundy or possibly Stephan Hill? Or any other suggestions?
Definitely Selwood (assuming you mean Joel). Jobe and Hannebery around the same price
Tough decisions this weekend on who to field 3 out of CEY, Heeney, Cripps, van Berlo, vandenberg, Newton. I want to start CEY , Heeney, Cripps , just hoping none of them are named sub tho as most of my bench would have already played
They haven't been named the sub in the first three games and have been scoring well so I think you should be pretty safe with those guys on the field. Even though he plays last, CEY isn't the sub-type. I reckon that'll go to whichever of Grigg, Lyons or M Crouch makes the final team (I'm saying this as a crows supporter).
Out: Bartel
In: Boomer Harvey
Thoughts
134 b.e and hasn't really looked likely so far. Hawks and Freo on the horizon for the Roos.
Would prefer Buddy at the same price
Harvey will drop too much value this week. Do you have bontempelli
Yeah he'll drop a bit but picking him as a top 6 fwd…as he has been for the past few years… think his best is past him but at that price… could prove a reallll smokey. Can't see the Bont being a top 6 fwd (top 10-15), but he is tempting.
could bring him in when he drops a bit more?
Jock, I’m currently having a crack at the draft format. Only have a league of four players. I really enjoyed the draft process itself but im still unsure about it overall, at this stage I prefer the regular Supercoach format. However the draft may grow on me in time once I’m more familiar with it
I reckon I'm on same camp mate – draft day is a ripper – but yet to take to the week to week.. thanks for the comment mate!
I’m in a couple of draft leagues. The research you do for preseason is highly relevant to draft leagues. I find it helps soothe the “itchy trigger finger” issues that supercoach can induce. It also allows you to take educated risks based on match ups for KPFs and the like. It’s fun to play with different strategies and if it doesn’t work you can almost change it week to week if you have no trade/waiver wire restrictions.
Dear community,
I've made some poor choices in my backline. I currently have B Goodes on the park, with N Brown and Hamling (good for loopholes) on the pine. I have a little over $130k in the bank.
Should I go B Goods into T Hunt/D Roberton/Oxley, or hold him for a little longer?
Goodes to Oxley mate
Oxley a must have. You missed his first price rise but still has plenty more to make
Oxley easily mate!
Thanks guys
I have brought in the bont for bartell. I have 140k left over and with judd out I thought I could upgrade him because I was planning on upgrading anyway. Not enough for sloane and fyfe… maybe thinking watson or lewis and neale could be a roughie
If you want to upgrade Judd don't waste your time with a roughie in Neale. Go straight to a premium keeper. Lewis slightly ahead of Jobe for mine
I have the V on Griffen I just have a funny feeling he will yo-yo and bring 150+
Was thinking swan but let's face it 60% of coaches will whack the V on him
I have to say this though if Griff does not ton up against GC then geese…. Gotta still hold him 🙁
I've got it on Griffen too Carla I have a good feeling about it……At the very least he owes us!
Absolutely agree, Carla. Gotta hold. Not sure about the VC call (as would like to see him go 130 first with his new side) but VC is for gut calls.
Going Pendles with the VC as everyone will be thinking Swan…and Pendles is due for a 130+ SC bomb.
Great work Jock, thanks mate.
Still umming and aaaghing over the same trade issues I had on Monday so need the Community's help.
Lek said it earlier in the week and now Jock himself has said that you should aim to only be trading up or down so with that in mind do I pull the trigger and go….
Mummy and Bartel out – Grundy/Biclavs/Nic Nat and Krak in (two downwards trades that raise me shedloads of cash)
OR
Mummy and Bartel out – Goldie and D.Martin/Franklin in (two sideways trades that give me keepers)
OR
Hold Mummy and just do the Bartel trade?
Leaning towards the third option. Injury trades are allowed the other two are not necessary, they're gambles that may/may not pay off.
Whaddya think?
I too have mummy and i have been in three minds all week on what to do with him. Usually when i hesitate and am unsure on a trade it is best to hold. So that is what i will be doing this week. I'd be kicking myself if he turns his scoring around and ends up a top 3 ruck by the season's end and i traded him out.
Yeah I think you're probably right mate.
It's the dollar signs from option one that is so tempting!
If it came off I'd have $530k in the bank to play with.
Need to have a strong word with myself and hold fast methinks.
Brett goodes to jake Kelly? Already got Oxley saad McIntosh. Don't wont to trade him to a taylor hunt type.
Wait a week if u can I'm not too sure about Kelly's job security. Not too sure why he is so popular yet that Harris Andrews isn't.
Wondering the same thing. Just questioning his JS. Him or big Harris Andrews for Brisbane. If Goodes is chopped tomorrow, we can hold him and get a gauge of these fellas over the weekend. Let's hope!
Have escaped majority of the injury carnage so far (knock on wood!) but have Wines in the mids. I fixed up my rookies last week so have all appropriate ones. Keeper mids are currently Fyfe, Beams, Parker, Griffen, Wines, and Rich.
I've got about 660 to spend to get rid of Wines but I've got a conundrum. Do I go:
1. Cheaper mid for Wines (currently thinking a mid 550s such as Hannebery, Barlow, Heppell, Barlow or Watson – loving the POD of Watson to be honest!) and that would give me an extra 100-200k to put into Rich to upgrade him to a fallen prem in the coming weeks. OR
2. Just bite the bullet and get one of the super premiums such as Sloane or Pendles and be done with it, taking points over POD. OR
3. Hold Wines on the bench, play a Cripps onfield against the Saints instead, and attend to other possibilities (Newnes to Hodge, B.Smith, McDonald etc)
Not sure about Option 3 as I don't usually like side trades but not loving Newnes' efficiency and don't want to miss a backline possible keeper out of those I named. Option 2 is safe and I'll miss out on pretty much guaranteed 100s by not having them but I could win leagues by using a POD. Long term and my first preference is Option 1 though, although I'm unsure about the player to bring in.
Get a keeper in. Whoever you think will be a top eight mid by seasons end.
Sloane for mine.
I'd use Wines as a loophole with Cripps on your bench. If Cripps gets a decent score like Rd3 then you could consider holding Wines one more week and reassess from there.
But if Cripps produces a rubbish score like Rd1 then perhaps you could think about going Wines straight up to Sloane who is proving a must have anyway rather than gamble on a Hanners or Barlow type generating elite output for the rest of the season.
love ya jock, good as always mate
Hey Community,
I was thinking TBC to Franklinand anderson to krak. Then if tarrent performs next week i could bring him in and get rid of lambert.
Just wondering what your thoughts are.
Nah hold your horses on TBC to Buddy at least for this weekend. TBC has been appreciating although not quite as quickly as we may have hoped. Buddy will be facing Freo's 18 man defence this weekend in the Subiaco cauldron so there is always a risk of an ordinary KPP score there.
If TBC gets another 60 then by all means upgrade him to Buddy but I'd just delay that trade at least one week. It's unlikely to cost you any significant cash waiting for one week and you might just dodge a bullet if either TBC scores big or Buddy scores low.
Same for Anderson to Krakouer. Just enjoy a week of loophole action with Anderson if you can and then bring Krak in next week when he is on the bubble and not dropped or injured.
Trading in rookies off the back of just one game you are almost inviting the Supercoach gods to dice with your plums.
What a great answer
Hey Nicholas, some of the community have talked about waiting a week before they bring in Krak as his score wont go up this week. Looks like Anderson is not playing so it probably depends whether you need to replace him to get a score. I will be bringing in Krak next week.
Hey Jock would you recommend, trading Ryan Griffen to Jobe Watson
Hold Griffen. He is in general a very inconsistent player he will score 60s and 70s and then 140s and 150s thats just how he plays. It's like having KPF in the midfield, he will average enough it will just come in peaks and troughs.
Thanks for the low down on the Bont Jock. I am a little concerned about what you said about him being tagged and you not wanting to touch him with a barge pole.
The end of Bont's season last year is set out below. (thanks for the spreadsheet with all that info!). I note the WBs have a great draw this year so think he might not bee to bad to bring in. Dooes your view change at all with the WBs' draw?
Also, what do you think of Cal Hooker as a keeper if I trade out Goodes now.
Would be great to hear the community's view also.
10 11 12 13 14 15 16 1718 19 20 21 22 23
58 63 58 91 91 129 111 6897 59 85 139 42 105
GC F BL CO PA M GL GCSES HK SK Nh SGW
The better teams will be giving more attention to the bont this year. How he handles a tag is anyones guess. A year of data isn't enough to make a solid call on him. In my view if you started with him then kudos, if not then sit and wait. Yes you'll miss out on some big scores, but most of missed on Tex/JJK/Waite going massive and I'm not tripping over myself to get those guys in.
As for Hooker, he did this last year. 6 tons in his first 8 then dropped off completely (scored above 80 twice)
I think the critical point that stops a lot of us from jumping on him is his age. At 22 he'll be a very different proposition.
Hey Jock and community.. is it worth trading in big goldy, with both maric and minson already in my team. TIA
Probably worth it. Both of them having been pretty dissapointing.
G'day community .. couple questions – 1.) what is Goldfinger doing different to other rucks allowing him to score so well? question 2 is – Does Mummy really need to go? He is still averaging 90 in a tough year for rucks. We are constantly told not to sideways trade, stick fat with your premos and don't worry if they lose money so do we go to WHOOSHKA and get rid of the tomb wanderer for Goldy or hold?
I think its the effectiveness of Goldy's tap outs that's doing it.
I would hold Mummy he has only had one poor game and should be at the worst top 5 ruckman by seasons end. I see top 2-3 more likely.
my mid consists of
fyfe
lewis
selwood
griffen
judd
heeney
parker
cripps
bench
ellis-yolmen
anderson
vandenberg
with judd out should i put him on the bench or trade. i have 272,000 in the bank. could easily go up to sloane and still have 121,000 in the bank. thoughts?
You have decent cover Sean, I'd say by the strength of your mids the $272K could be better used to bolster another line. You didn't get Judd for 3 games and he has shown he's got plenty more to give. You can loophole Vanders also so no need to trade.
Wait for fallng premiums mate.
Thoughts on Dyson Heppell? Or if not him than what other midfielder for less than 570k, thanks
Was just about to ask the same thing. As I had written off all of the Essendon players due to the lack of preseason, hadn't considered him in my initial squad but he looks pretty good at the moment and need to bring in someone for Wines.
I got him in last week for GAJ – think he'll be top averaging defender in a top 5 side this year.
You don't mean Hibberd as a defender do you, rather than Heppell?
so i decided to traded maric for grundy n with the cash made from that upgrade mitch clarke to swan any thoughts guys?
Swan is certainly worth getting in so Maric to Grundy could be justifiable if you have no other better options to make that happen.
Maric is still capable and won't be surprised if he ends up a top 5 ruck. Is he your R2? If so, he's not scoring that poorly. Just under Mullet numbers. Grundy is WAY over his average. Will that continue, even when Witts returns? Not sure.
Also, Clarke is still below 20 BE, so he will make you some more money.
Your suggestion isn't bad. Just high with risk as well as using two trades when you may get minimal gain in the short/long run.
Moving stuff Ben.
Having worked at DVA I have a heightened appreciation of the sacrifices made, but it certainly doesn’t measure up to 13 years. Well done, and thanks
Very well said Rick.
Jobe or Selwood for this weekend??
That's where I'm at too Johnny. Real tough call. My bye structure says I should go Selwood as it is the same as Wines' and I can't stack week 12 as I will want Pendles next, and maybe Ablett, if the champ is back soon. Probably going Selwood but would like them both.
Selwood
Give Deledio the flick for Selwood at a semi bottomed out price? Afraid of Deledio getting randomly rested all over the place.
Huge alarm bells over Lids. Agree he has to go
I have 600k in the kitty and have
Rich at M5
TBC at F4
Langdon at D3
G'day community, who is a must have right 'now' out of Sloane, Selwood, Buddy, B.Smith or Rance ?
looking to trade out one of the following bench warmers;
Goodes
Anderson
Lamb
not sure who to trade in.
Sloane for mine
thought that much, thanks Tubmeister and hes been in and out of my team 7 times this week. thinking his price rise wont put him out of reach for a trade in next week to focus on jelwood at a bargin price. but also thinking the potential 130-140 I could be missing out on if I don't pick him.
decisions decisions.
Smith to stengthen your backline.
Thanks Sarah. was thinking that. not sure if he's fully recovered from concussion yet but I do think he is a season keeper.
Having bartel the obvious trade would be him into swan, a riskier option would be to go bartel into bont and use the extra cash to upgrade either newnes into smith or griffen into sloane. What do you think community? When will it be time to accept defeat in the newnes and griffen experiment?
Hold some more, Tigga. Think another sub 80 round is needed before offloading. The prems in the back line are still being sussed out, so you have a round or two before that becomes clear. And there's really nothing available outside a sideways trade to TMac.
Griffen will be interested to see what he does this weekend. GCS has been playing turd ball so this is the week he could go 110+. Shall see.
Holding onto them does seem to be the sensible option, but a couple more weeks like this and im hitting that T button.
Looks like ill be welcoming swan into my depleted forward line this week.
ANZAC BOYS AND GIRLS. I NOW FULLY UNDERSTAND TOTAL RESPECT. and to the don JOCK. l have now found my home, thank you. but biggest kudos to my soul brother crouching .bung bung bung bung bung. 5 Fknen trades but flying and kept selwood. he was a dead man walking. back your constitution jock
After a lot of thought and analysis I am holding my trades this week. Ready to go Bang Bang next week when a couple of rookies are closer to being at their best price.
Brilliant call in Big Ben. Your a legend! Now who are we bringing in for Bartel. I’m still undecided
Depends on your structure I suppose. Can you downgrade to a rookie or do you need another premium replacement?
Premo for premo, Pieman. SC Gods are in a bloody mood mate so I'm not mucking about
I've gone buddy
I’m tempted to go Parker to Jobe. Thought Parker might outscore JPK but not convinced now. Got JPK in for Gaz, so now feel uncomfortable with both(and Heeney). It’s a sideways move I know, but I’m good on my rookies so think I can allow a bit of fine tuning. What to do?
Hold mate. He will come good.
No mate! Hold him! I have Sloane, Dangerfield and CEY and I can tell you I would feel comfortable with Parker, JPK and Heeney in my team. Heeney won't be there for too long!
Big Ben that opening to the podcast bought a tear to the eye mate. Thank you for your service and any others who have served or have family that have or are serving, thank you thoughts are with you and those of the fallen.
To have that opening followed immediately by the sound of a can being opened, befittingly, CHEERS!
Jock love the poddy, the call ins were first class this week. Bring on the weekend.
General – can you pls confirm that you in fact DID not make that trade on the weekend? If this is the case a prefuse apology is in order. Investigation pending
Trading Beams out for Sloane netted a 2 point gain in its first week. It will remain a sound trade for the balance of the season. Cannot judge a trade on 1 week. Beams dropped $21K is estimated to drop $61K and Sloane was looking as cheap as you will get him. Beams had come off two stinkers and will likely stink it up with Rocky back.
I maintain that the trade is a sound one long term and I would endorse it again ;P
I have to admit General, that I did the same trade last week. Sloane was playing too well to miss and will become too expensive if his form holds to bring in later. Has become a very good captaincy option therefore can be valued higher than Beams for that alone. Can only judge the trade fully at the end of the season.
Wholly agree Sarah, trades are judged at the end of the season.
Cannot judge trades or rookies after 1 week.
Happy to lop them or buy them after two though. 🙂
As my only corrective trade I fully endorse it! While it was annoying to see Beams score 138 in the same week, I think by the end of the year the trade will have been justified. Especially if you add the points gained from Sloane by using him as the Captain… I didn't have the same captaincy faith in Beams.
And you made an extra two points in your first week. This cannot be ignored. +ve points and avoided -ve cash while getting onto a cashflow +ve player. All upside.
I figure we're allowed 1 of these kinds of trades a year and this was mine!!
I look forward to our teams going head to head in the Throttledome later this year!
Me too Sarah, it is bloody tough in the Dome.
General never made that trade. It was the one armed man that did lol
Lets get back to the trade, is it not a good one? Would you endorse it?
Cmon general. We want the truth. Was Beams in your team at the beginning of round 3
You cant handle the truth!
Awesome podcast Jock!!! Agree completely with all your wisdoms… particularly those regarding Bontempelli.
Either Nathan Brown or Brett Goodes have to start on the field for me. Should I spend some GAJ cash and get Taylor Hunt or Roberton and try to do it on the cheap and get Oxley?
Yes. Personally I'd dump Brown as I think Goodes has a bigger upside and reasonable JS for the time being. Brown is going to very slowly accumulate you a little cash but his scoring is pathetic. If you have the $ go to either of the players you've listed, they'll score better and still make you cash. If you have enough for a premium I really like Birchall.
Should i do the trade danger to pendlebury ? 🙂
hey guys…. need to get Jimmy Bartel out. Can afford anyone. Already have Swan, Gray and D.Martin…. What are you thoughts on Devon Smith or Dayne Zorko?
Any help appreciated. Thank you.
Can someone please explain to me how to use the captains loophole? Cheers
Hi Lucas, choose two players as your preferred possible captain. Name the one who plays first in the round as your vice captain. You name a player who is not playing this round as captain but he MUST be named in your side not on the bench. He also can’t play before your ‘second’ captain. If your first choice captain scores well and you want his score leave it as it is. At the end of the round because your captain didn’t play you’ll receive the vc points doubled. If your first captain gives you an ordinary score simply move the c from your non playing captain onto your second choice. For example this week I will have swan as vc and read from Geelong on field and as capt. If swan gets 130 plus I’ll leave it. When read doesn’t play swan becomes capt and I get my ruck emergencies points. If swanny gets a low score I will put read back on the the bench and name Selwood capt. Of course Selwood may score lower than swan but it gives you the choice. Hope that helps mate
You’re welcome
Legends,
once again struggling to choose who to put on field for D8.
I have Heeney, with Cripps, Touk Miller and Vandenberg on the bench who all play before Heeney does.
Will Heeney be a late withdrawal? Should I have him on field or have one of the other 3?
Cheers
I have the exact same guys on my bench as well. Its a real toss up who is going to get the final M8 spot. Melbourne play the tigers tonight. I think Vandenberg could match up OK against this side. Similarly, Cripps must also be seriously looked at. Carlton play a young and inexperienced St Kilda.
Like you say, Heeney may get the snotvest or be withdrawn late because of his hard hit against the goal post late in the game against GWS. Touk Miller could do well angainst GWS, but I prefer to stick with either the more proven Vandenberg or Cripps. It really is a toss of the coin job between these 2 blokes. OK, I am gonna get a coin and if its "heads" its Vandenberg in and if its "tails" its Cripps in. Here we go……………………………ITS HEADS!!!!!! Vandenberg has been officially named as an M8 starter in the Top Hawks side this week!! LOL
(Unless Vandie gets the snotvest or is withdrawn of course)
Hope this helps,
Cheers
Haha love your work brother! Thanks heaps
Go well this week!
Goodes to Kelly,
Geary to Smith
Or wait a week?
Who has better JS out of Jake Kelly and Harris Andrews, if Goodes is playing I need to get rid of him!
I have just checked the weather forecast for Melbourne for tonight. It is going to be wet at the MCG. Showers forecast with up to 5 mms of rain expected. I need some advice about playing the Melbourne rookies. I did have salem on my bench and Hogan on field for tonight. I am having second thoughts here now. As Hogan is a marking tall kind of player, could the wet weather seriously restrict his output? Could the greasy conditions could suit Salem more here? Also, how does Vandenberg perform in the wet? I know that it will be Sunny in Wellington tomorrow for the saints-Blues match. Would it be a safer option to put Cripps on the field instead of Vandenberg?
Any thoughts on these points much appreciated
Melbourne played in the wet last week against Adelaide. They all scored reasonably well for rookies.
it was also damp when they played the gold coast and the big fella Hogan played very well
Robbie Gray OUT. Might want to rethink trading strategies if you have both lamb and lambert on your FWD bench.
Bloody hell! Just saw it on the AFL website. Got some work to do here. Cheers Marco Polo
looks like just one week
Port without Wines and Gray against the Hawks!
Wow! Really. Where did you hear this?
Gray is OUT, I saw it on a link on facebook for the AFL website
Yep he’s got a crook calf
Looked very ordinary last week as well, looks like he's carrying something
hopefully the rest will do him good.
I have either krakour, Hogan, Miller or Vandenberg to cover gray. Any one suggest one over the others?
Can you loophole Vandenberg or Hogan for tonights game to assess their scores first?
nice
Gold!
Gray in mids for Loop and Lamb in Fwd for Loop
Yep, I have also just seen it on the AFL website. This is not what I needed!! Luckily I have Salem on my bench. He will play tonight with Hogan now. Gray and Lamb now on my bench. I am praying that neither Hogan or Salem gets the snotvest tonight now. Or any more late withdrawal surprises for my 3 forward rookies.
Cheers
I'm in exactly the same boat!
Hi Sarah,
I just flicked Gray from my forward line to my midfield (And plonked him now on my mid bench) and Dustin Martin from my midfield to my forward line. That gives me more flexibility with my forward bench now.
The only way you can loophole Hogan or vandenberg is by leaving them on the bench and putting an emergency on them. For example if Hogan goes bananas you can put a non player like Tom Lamb on the field and put someone like Mitch Clark on the bench without putting the emergency on him. Then Lamb will score a zero but you will be awarded Hogan's emergency points!!
Does that make sense? You can do the same trick now with Robbie Gray on one of your mid rookie emergencies comes out and gets a huge score.
Hope it helps!
Thanks Tophawk1!
I don't have a forward/mid swing set up so emergency loopholing in the forward line isn't an option, but having Lamb does help my captains loopholing options! My mid/fwd swing will likely be set up from next week when I trade in Krakouer for Anderson.
Am happy to wait a week and watch Krakouer's second game before committing to that trade though.
Have the emergency on Vandenberg for tonight, will loophole his score in the midfield if he scores above 80.
No dramas.
I am also looking to trade in Krakouer next week unless he completely spuds it this week of course. I am not using any trades this week as I dont really have to. I always like to keep as many trades up my sleeve for later in the season.
Cheers
Who has better JS out of Jake Kelly and Harris Andrews? If Goodes is named I need to get rid of him
Do you already have Oxley?
Wait a week, if you can, then jump on the one picked to play his third game and perhaps looks like a better JS.
Any advice would be appreciated …. Thanks
Saad or McIntosh on field ?
Cripps , Heeney or Vandenberg on field ? and who the sub ?
Can you loophole any of these lines?
Thanks General ….
Only the Mid line ….. atm have , Yolmen and Cripps on field , Heeney or Vandenberg on bench ( I have Lambert sitting there too )
Have not done the loop as yet ( worried I will stuff it up : ) …. do I put Lambert on field and Van as sub ?
TopHawk and Sarah… Me too!! Got Salem and hogan playing with Gray and lamb on the bench. I was going to not trade this week and replace lamb with Krakouer next week after I’d seen his second game. Does it make sense to do it now so I have Krakouer as a playing emergency?
Id wait to see how Tarrant goes as well. Bit confused on Kraks job security as he only off rookie list for an injury.
Thanks mate. Great advice. I’ll hold that trade.
Its worth considering. Just wait until the final teams for tonight's game are announced. If either Hogan or Salem are a late withdrawal or one of these guys is the substitute this may force your hand to make the change. Like Northern soul said, Robbie Tarrant is another guy seriously worth looking at.
If both play tonight, I would not trade in Krakouer or Tarrant in just yet. Just monitor your other playing forwards as the round progresses. For Example if Mitch Clark is a late withdrawal on Sunday v North then you can still take corrective action by trading in Tarrant if you are desperate. The beauty of a "rolling" lock out!
Thanks mate. Great advice from both you and Northernsoul. I’ll hold and see how things pan out.
Currently ranked 113 thanks to the help of the community!
In a bit of a dilemma with which forward premo to bring in. My current premo's are Swan, Dusty and Gray. I have over 300k in the kitty.
Who would be a better pick out of Bonts and Franklin? Or could Devon Smith be a top 6 forward this year?
Franklin will be in my team later in year. was hoping for the Buffalo bounce. I started with travis Cloke and was hoping for a bit of an increase from him, a bit of a drop from buddy and not needing too much cash.. but Lance doesn't look like falling in value too much (maybe ross and the freo boys can lock him down this week)
buddy would be my pick out of those boys.
I do have my eye on Motlop. With Bartel being out I see him being used in the guts more.
Wait another week, might get your answer.
Saad, McKintosh, Oxley, Langon, Newnes.
Which ones to play and which to get the E?
No chance of a loop unfortunately.
the way players are going down, you might still need everyone
Gray out leaves me with 1 less players in forward line with lamb and mcgrath injured
Do i?
A- trade out one of them for Krakour or Tarrant
B- seems like it will be a 1 week injury. Wait to see how they do this week then decide who to bring in
Already had clark, hogan, salem as forward cashcows
If you have a donut trade out McGrath of Lamb (i would suggest McGrath – Lamb is tastier for looping) for Krakouer.
Worried of his job security. Already blew a trade getting McGrath in last round 🙁
Can someone tell me what those little green paper symbols are on most of the players, and why Swanny has an orange one?
It is Superfooty telling you SC wisdoms that they get from here 🙂 i.e. Swanny – "Swan is back to the Swan of old. 150 last week was great and is primed for a big score on Anzac Day. His BE of 48 shows he will rise again, so jump on if you don't have him."
I have not idea why its orange, all pies players are atm.
Hi Community, Please give me a helping hand. I am trading Shannon Hurn no matter what. I also have Robbie Gray.
2 options here-
1) Hurn, Gray OUT. B.Smith, Swan IN.
2) Hurn OUT. Birchall IN (have bench cover for Gray but hate losing premium points)
Why would you trade Gray? Likely 1 week injury. If we trade every player that picks up a knock we'll have no trades left by the byes. HOLD Gray.
I like the Birchall pick assuming you cant afford Brodie Smith if you're dead set on trading Hurn.
Yeah totally agree, just gives me a chance of getting in B. Smith with that trade option. Not enough cash for him but happy with Birchall
Keep Gray mate. One week injury and he’ll be a keeper. Birchall is a good option if you’re determined to get Hurn out. I had Birchall one year and he really struggled with a tag. But I repeat, keep Gray ! Lol
Hurn is as good as done IMO. Totally changed his role due to all the eagles defenders going down.
Ugh! Gray out has left me with a dilemma.
I had wanted to get rid of Big Boy McEvoy as he's just not performing, so brought in Grundy to generate cash. Also have Bartel and Wines, so was going to trade out Wines for Martin – swing Martin into FWD line and leave Bartel to next week when I can use spare cash to upgrade to Jelwood as well as bringing in Krakouer.
Now with Gray out, I've got a doughnut on field with Bartel and Lamb on the bench.
Do I give up on the McEvoy> Grundy trade and bring in Martin and Krak for Wines and Lamb this week?? I won't be left with enough cash to bring in Selwood in that case, would have to settle for say Bartel>Watson…
Why wouldn't you just trade Bartel for Martin and then bench Gray?
Still leaves me with one doughnut on the field (Lamb, Lambert & Gray out). Had originally swung lambert into the mids so that I could trade Wines to Martin. Up until Gray was injured, this at least gave me 6 playing forwards, and enough cover in midfield until I brought in Selwood next round.
It tells you on the key at the bottom green note is a new player note has been added to the players stat sheet and the orange 1is for a new player note posted a few days ago dont stress
Player notes and history …
Does anyone know what the story is with Minson?
No, very odd. Cordy has been awful as a forward and can clearly only play as a ruck but still nowhere near Minson's level. Some odd decisions at the Doggies this week with no Hamling either.
With Gray out and no foward emergencys, I was thinking Jed Anderson>Krak. Swing Krak in fowards Lambert. Thoughts?
I did the same thing mate, but used bartel to krak and Anderson to Watson in the one trade..
I don't know why I started with Chris Judd.
What's going on? Half my Team are either playing for Switzerland or they've joined the Red Cross!
Is this just an ANZAC day promotion by supercoach or has my team genuinely lost its best and bravest?
This is the funniest thing I have read all day.
Def: h.shaw, the gift, newnes, thumper, goodes, mcintosh, oxley, saad
Mid: fyfe, pendles, jelwood, CEY, griffen, heeney, NVB, cripps, vandy, newton, miller
Rucks: goldstein, nic nat, read
Fwd: swan, gray, martin, hogan, salem, clark, lonie, mcgrath
I have $555,900 in the warchest.
I was thinking of trading thumper up to a def premo and newton up to sloane. Would love your thoughts community
need a forward and backline premo this week who is the best pick?
Backs:
smith
Hodge
Gibson
Birchell
Rance
Houli
hooker
Fowards:
Gray
Bontempelli
roughead
Franklin
d.smith
zorko
Foward- Bontempelli ( only because grey is out)
Hands down the best options are B.Smith and Franklin
I was looking for a Defence premium this week as well and was tossing up between Birchell and Kelly.
Birchell because he is on bubble and Kelly because he will get more midfield time with Bartel out.all others you are buying at their price peak. you will get them ALL cheaper later in year.
great point i might be leaning toward birchell, do you think birchell will be a top 6 defender by the end of the year?
I don't think so. Hawks players are always a bugger to have for SC. They share the ball around a lot, especially in defence. Lewis was the only Hawk last year who averaged over 100.
Birchell doesn't play in the guts much, he is used as a running half back, but has on occasion has been tagged. but at $477k he is probably a little underpriced.
I am looking for defenders who are really Midfielders, that is why I am considering Kelly. Now that bartel is missing I assume he will be in the guts a lot more. Selwood is in great form so most tags will go to him. At $460k Kelly looks very good value and a good POD.
Birchall is 27 and has averaged over 90 three times with his highest 95 in 2012.
Smith is 23 and entering his prime with his highest average last year of 94.
Gray out?!? Had McGrath & Lamb on fwd bench and Bont on mid bench to avoid a donut last week.
How to get rid of 3 non playing Fwds?
Bont to fwd swing with Gray, and hope that will get job done.
You'll either have to trade or put the kettle on and enjoy a cuppa with your doughnut.
Actually 4 non playing forwards. In Swan – out Goodes via H Goddard swing from fwds
In Krak – out McGrath via Bont swing from mids bench
Gray to bench
Lamb on bench
No cover but breathes sigh of relief.
Which is a better or more important trade ?
Hurn to Hodge/Brodie Smith
or Brett Goodes to Oxley ?
Oxley looks really good. Nice player and should play most of the season
Definitely Oxley. Hodge's score this week was a flash in the pan.
Hmmmm Franklin or Dusty?!?!
dusty low BE and playing melb…150 perhaps…
Do i trade in Bont and Sloane or Buddy and someone like Jobe
I was going to bring Krakouer in after this round for Lamb or Anderson if he played well and wasn't sub but with Gray out it makes it harder for me to know if he would've been sub or not and I don't know if to bring Krakouer in now or wait to see how he does
Hey community bring in buddy this week for bartel or wait a week or two and bring in gray instead? will have to play 4 fwd rookies on the field if I don’t trade this week. I’m more of a league player than rank
Thoughts on Andrew Swallow community? Had him since day dot. However i'm starting to gather some serious doubt around this selection.
Swallow had over 30 touches and only managed 94. He bandpasses it to much now. I have had him since the outset but I'm going to downgrade him to Cripps this week I reckon and free up cash. The number of rookies who are scoring well means I don't think your going to lose to many points by doing it either.
what about a mid priced defender in jasper pittard started season very well and looks good
thoughts community?
i have no bench cover should i get a guy that will play instead of having a guy that dosent if so who?
get rid of godderd or hamling
Cut out my suggestion of Shane Edwards > Bontemspaghetti and the boy delivered for me last night!!! Can see him averaging 95-110 for the year.
Brodie Smith or Alex Rance both Great premos, but which is better in the long term
