And while we may be licking the off wound after round 3 – we need to turn our attention quick sticks to some real opportunities emerging on the landscape
Enjoy the show folks.

Bill · 19/04/2015 at 22:07

Bartel. Need to go? Thinking straight to Gray. Already have martin/swan. Other potential trade is to Franklin

    Paul · 19/04/2015 at 22:20

Franklin has been great lately! I would go him.

    Cozza · 19/04/2015 at 22:21

The early word from Chris Scott is he is a "medium term" injury – looking like more than 4 weeks. We'll learn more in the week, but if he is more than 4 weeks I'd suggest you move him on – too long to have that much money sitting on the pine.

    @TheNoLanguage · 20/04/2015 at 18:42

I've got Buddy, seems like not many others do. Highly recommend him, huge ceiling and scores 90+ in his off games

cuz · 19/04/2015 at 22:09

wines for who??
current midfield looks like

sloane, fyfe, beams, wines, steven, CEY, heeney, parker (NVB, vandenberg, newton)

only have 6k left

    dean · 19/04/2015 at 23:20

I didnt grab bont last week as i couldnt fit him in nicely, which turned out to be a good thing, But now that Wines is down, im thinking of wines to bont, and then swaping bont to FWD

      cuz · 19/04/2015 at 23:50

Was thinking along those lines… Not 100% sure he is the real deal though.

    LoopyHermit · 20/04/2015 at 00:30

could go sideways to another port player in Ebert. He seems to be getting a fair bit of the pill and low chance of getting tagged in a game. or you could go down to a player like Rich, pocket the extra cash, and wait for him to rise in price more and then have him go to a premo.

Haz · 19/04/2015 at 22:11

Hey all, hope was a good weekend for all

Thoughts on a Sheed or Salem to Bont trade with the hope that he'll become a forward keeper. Is that optimistic thinking or will he average close to 100 from next week onwards (granted he plays). I know that those 2 rookies have a negative breakeven but need to be aggressive in order to balance out a shocking start to the season.

Cheers and good luck

    @HJ_Mitch · 19/04/2015 at 23:39

The Bont is a keeper for the foreseeable future. He is young & will recover from tissue injuries quickly.
You have to upgrade rookies to those you think will be keepers.
Remember, the only reason you buy rookies is to make cash to upgrade.
    Best of luck.

mcleal10 · 19/04/2015 at 22:13

Hey all.
What's your view on Hibberd and Newnes?

    The Roughnuts · 19/04/2015 at 22:18

Hibberd has had a slow start but you went with him for a reason my opinion is hold, I firmly believe he will end up being in the top 8-10 defenders so I would hold.

As for Newnes I'm going to hold also but I can't see him being in my team come the end of the year.

      Cezza93 · 19/04/2015 at 22:30

Hibberd is proven in my opinion. Newnes i'm not sold. Thinking Newnes to Birchall this week.

    @t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 00:49

Have to stick it out with Hibberd.

Newnes was good Friday night. His work rate impressed me, ran the game right out…..kept getting himself to contests. Was burnt a few times by team mates (especially Savage). I think he's an improver, i'm going to hold. St Kilda do play Carlton next weekend.

    William · 20/04/2015 at 18:09

I've dropped Newnes as he is hurting me and I have the cash to upgrade, gone to B.Smith

Tom · 19/04/2015 at 22:13

Do we trade griffen?

    SCaddict · 19/04/2015 at 23:00

I need to get Sloanedog in so in my case Griff is the best way to make that happen as it's too early to harvest any of the midfield rookie cash cows just yet.

After 3 weeks of close observation it doesn't look very likely that Griff will be anywhere near a top 12 mid this season so you'll probably have to upgrade him somewhere along the line anyway. Whether he will make any cash along the way the jury is still out but he's lost $20K already.

      PDAP · 19/04/2015 at 23:35

Griffen is almost a straight swap for Fremantle's Neale. He had a very good NAB series and has played three strong games this AFL season. Fremantle is a top four club and he is part of a strong midfield so he will unlikely be tagged like Griffen.

The Roughnuts · 19/04/2015 at 22:15

Have not had a chance to listen to the podcast just yet but will listen tomorrow morning.

What are thoughts on Grant Birchall community?

Lowest avg since 2011 has been 88.9 with the others being 90+. Tag will always go to Mitchell, Hill or Smith. Is 28 and in the prime of his career. Only 3% of people have him and has great duriablitly. It was only 2013 where he hurt his knee that he hasn't played over 21 games during the year. Priced at $477k, I'm a hawks supporter and have always rated birchall but he is a great POD for defence I reckon.

I'm downgrading Mummy to Grundy and then Trading Goodes to Birchall as my backline is weak and needs strengthing so I can bank some early wins in my cash leagues.

Arguments for or against Community?

    Dan · 19/04/2015 at 23:29

Was one of my first picked pre season until he hurt his knee. I think he will flourish once Lake, Frawley and Gibbo all playing.

Tom · 19/04/2015 at 22:15

Im thinking Griffen to Bont and then a few weeks down the track swing him into the fwd line for someone like Salem and get a premo midfielder?

Paul · 19/04/2015 at 22:19

Who should I get in for Wallis?

    scrofl · 19/04/2015 at 22:48

Why would you trade Wallis? He's had two ripper games.

      SCaddict · 19/04/2015 at 22:54

Because his own coach is expecting him to miss weeks. If it's more than 2-3 weeks he will probably need to go as a month or longer is too long to carry anyone really.

        scrofl · 19/04/2015 at 22:57

Sorry lads, didn't realise he got injured, I just thought he had a down week. My apologies.

      Dig Dug · 19/04/2015 at 22:54

well, without knowing anything further on his back injury and assuming the worst, he may be out for 3-6 weeks. I'm also deciding what to do with him if it is a bad injury.

        Paul · 19/04/2015 at 22:56

Very annoying! would have been a great pick otherwise!

min0008 · 19/04/2015 at 22:19

Griffen. Need to go? Current midfield looks like:
Fyfe, Pendlebury, Selwood, Parker, Griffen, CEY, Heeney, Van Berlo (Cripps, Vandenberg, Anderson)
only have 80k left?

    Flanno24 · 19/04/2015 at 22:28

I'm stuck with the Griffen dilemma as well
I just know that as soon as I trade him he'll knock out a couple of 140's

    Canardly Cee · 20/04/2015 at 09:50

I'm debating griffin too. He's had scores of 70, 118, 77 – all over the place! I think his breakeven is around 107 for this week. You could go to Lachie Neale at Freo – I've already got him and he's doing well. But, it's another trade. I'm trying to hold off trades and keep them for later. Dunno….

    BennyGan · 20/04/2015 at 14:25

If I was you I'd keep Griffen and get rid of Parker he's not gonn get his 170 BE whereas Griffens 110 is manageable, I'd go Parker to Watson

      Redgumwon · 20/04/2015 at 19:07

Oarker will come good and will be a keeper for sure

    Tofor · 21/04/2015 at 15:36

    I've got Griffen and Parker.
They've been painful early, but I'd suggest holding them both…
They should improve, especially Parker coming off the concussion.

r2d2 · 19/04/2015 at 22:20

Should have traded griff this week ,,but glad I only used 1 trade

Deesnuts · 19/04/2015 at 22:21

griffin, danger and parker all underperforming mid premos that I have at the moment… downgrade to a bont…upgrade to ultra premo…or hold hold hold. Opinions needed, thanks.

    Jye · 19/04/2015 at 22:31

I'd hold danger and parker – griffen is up for debate though

    scrofl · 19/04/2015 at 22:46

Definitely hold Danger and Parker, consider trading Griff though.

    Jacob · 20/04/2015 at 21:44

I have Parker and i am extremely worried. Jack, Kennedy and Hannebery where all on the ball for extended periods while Parker played most of the game up forward. Reckon Hannebery and Jack have jumped up above Parker in the on ball pecking order. IM WORRIED!!

    Jay · 21/04/2015 at 10:18

    Griffin's last 5 games against Gold Coast: 132, 101, 124, 145, 118. You'd be pretty ballsy to trade out a player averaging 124 against this week's opponents!!

Ben · 19/04/2015 at 22:24

Should i trade bartel to swan or the bont?

    Ryan K · 19/04/2015 at 22:27

    James · 19/04/2015 at 22:28

Swan without a doubt. Far better option.

    Canardly Cee · 20/04/2015 at 09:43

Lucas · 19/04/2015 at 22:28

Who should I trade this week out of Malceski,Goodes and Mumford…

If so who should I bring in for them

Currently have 68k in bank aswell

    Redd · 19/04/2015 at 22:47

Trade Malceski and Mumford to Hodge and Goldstein

    scrofl · 19/04/2015 at 22:58

Definitely get rid of Goodes first.

      Lucas · 19/04/2015 at 23:10

Who would I put in for him?
I already have the main 3 defensive rookies

        scrofl · 19/04/2015 at 23:16

If you've got coin, go to Simpson, Smith, Hodge etc. Maybe consider Docherty, Hunt or McDonald if you don't have quite enough. Otherwise, you'll have to downgrade someone else in order to upgrade Goodes, as there's not really any other playing defence Rookies.

          Lucas · 19/04/2015 at 23:24

I was thinking Mumford to Grundy then I’ll have around 460k for a defender??
Thoughts? Or should I be holding onto mummy for now?

      Captain Pugwash · 20/04/2015 at 22:22

With Morris out, I’d wait to see if a spot doesn’t open up on the ground for Goodes.

    Tofor · 21/04/2015 at 15:39

    I've got the Mummy.
I'd say hold for now. He's still likely to go at least 80-100 most games.
I think Malceski is worth getting rid of, I don't think he's going to average much over 70-80 all year…
Malceski to Simpson/ Brodie Smith/ Hodge? Goodes to Whitecross?

Cezza93 · 19/04/2015 at 22:29

Fair to say i've backed Newnes into a corner. Dagger in hand, young Newnes knows his fate.

    yurkins · 19/04/2015 at 22:51

he gets plenty of the pill for sure, its his Efficiency that lets him down. hold on for a few weeks to see who youre upgrading to

      cuz · 19/04/2015 at 23:06

newnes for malceski in a few weeks?

        Jayden · 20/04/2015 at 01:21

I honestly wouldn’t be looking at malceski as an upgrade target until he shows something

john · 19/04/2015 at 22:30

do i sacrifice trading salam to krakouer so then with that money i can upgrade griffen to sloane for instance ?

    yurkins · 19/04/2015 at 22:49

no hang on to trade in a few weeks. dont trade as yet

    Jack · 19/04/2015 at 23:13

Hold Griffen. He’s always been inconsistent and that’s not going to change, so you may as well just back him in and wait for him to pump out big scores.

Don’t trade Salem either, he will appreciate in value.

Jezg · 19/04/2015 at 22:31

With bartel now out for potentially 4+ weeks would a trade down to bont be a valid option with the view of getting bartel back in after his price drop in his second week back.(200+ break even) I was thinking about the cash bont could make me next week due to his late withdrawal today while still scoring well for my overall. Must mention I have only used 1 trade so far and have 100k in the kitty. My fwds are currently bartel, gray, swan,Salem,Clarke, krackour, steele

    Ethan · 19/04/2015 at 22:42

bont all the way, got a low BE

    SideBySidebottom · 20/04/2015 at 13:27

If you're going to keep Bontempelli the cash he generates is irrelevant. I'd advise against trading Bartel to Bontempelli as a cash generation exercise to then trade Bontempelli to Bartel after the latter's price drop. I'll be trading Bartel who would've been a keeper to another keeper such as Franklin, Roughead, Bennell or Dahlhaus.

Dickson Balls · 19/04/2015 at 22:32

Do I trade Wines to Pendles regardless of his high B/E or to a Jobe Watson or Selwood type?

    Cezza93 · 19/04/2015 at 22:40

Pendles is injured careful unless you hear otherwise. Watson seems like the most valid here

      Locked and Loaded · 20/04/2015 at 09:30

Injured? Havent read that. Played four quarters Friday night has 8 days to recover where have you heard that?

        Canardly Cee · 20/04/2015 at 09:53

There was some doubt last week on his ankle.

    Patch · 19/04/2015 at 23:17

I was at the game on Saturday and Watson was frolicking like he was in the Sound of Music or something. No-one went near him. Unlikely to get that freedom often. I'm liking Selwood from that lot.

    Rawkus11 · 21/04/2015 at 19:58

    Selwood would be my option

PDAP · 19/04/2015 at 22:33

If The Bont is OK for next week, he is your man.

BigDropKick · 19/04/2015 at 22:39

Wines for who??

Mid now: Sloane , Fyfe , Wines , Pendles , Beams ….

Thinking of Lewis with a fairly easy run (Not many taggers) looking for the super premos Got 240k in the bank

    Redd · 19/04/2015 at 22:49

Yeh give jordan a run i reckon

    SideBySidebottom · 20/04/2015 at 13:32

    JPK is another strong option.

Caz · 19/04/2015 at 22:40

Hi community, after watching the games on the weekend what are your thoughts on Tom mcdonald houli and birchell as season keepers. Liked McDonald as he scored 95 playing on tex walker in wet conditions. Thoughts?

    SideBySidebottom · 20/04/2015 at 13:39

Birchall has always been consistent. Houli has been a touch below. McDonald is an emerging 23 yo defender who looks the goods at the moment but may not be able to hold that form. You may be rewarded for a risky pick if you take him.

Ethan · 19/04/2015 at 22:41

should i offload goodes as he has a BE of 98
or hold till a decent player drops down significantly in value

    Cozza · 19/04/2015 at 22:52

I have the same problem – can see him dropping value this week which is not good for someone only worth $227k. If he scores like he has the last 2 weeks he will drop nearly $30k, so got to go for mine. Thankfully I have $300k in the chest after I trade Ablett, so looking like Goodes will be my first premo upgrade.

      Ethan · 19/04/2015 at 22:58

i dont have that royalty of having the cash so what is the smartest thing to do?

        Phil · 20/04/2015 at 00:11

Wait to see how much of a holiday Yarran gets for his hit on Chapman. If 4 weeks I reckon young Irish lad Byrne might be the go. Not ideal trading in after 1 game, but desperate times.

        randomcliche · 20/04/2015 at 00:22

If you have the 3 premo rookies then perhaps Hamling and loophole. Otherwise nathan ‘warm body’ brown is a poor but valid option to avoid the $ decline. But sometimes a trade is worth more than the $ decline in one week. Which brings me to option 2. Take the hit and plan a trade for next week. If it s your biggest issue your luck. I’ve got wells and Bartel. Enjoy.

          randomcliche · 20/04/2015 at 00:23

          C’mon phone work with me

            Locked and Loaded · 20/04/2015 at 09:34

Roberton or Taylor Hunt if you have don't have the coin for an elite premo otherwise just hold not worth a downgrade and wasted trade to another risky rookie

    Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 09:39

No do not off load goods. Morris went down injured and goods now will get full game time

      Canardly Cee · 20/04/2015 at 09:56

Wasn't Goodes in the vest for the last couple of games? Hopefully he'll get more game time – I wouldn't be trading yet.

        Paul · 20/04/2015 at 22:21

Started as sub, came on in the second quarter but still only managed 28.

      northernsoul74 · 20/04/2015 at 10:14

Unlikely Goodes will get that much more game time. They started Webb ahead of Goodes, plus Easton Wood, Matt Boyd, and thre Bont to all come back in. Id also put Hamling, Clay Smith and Biggs ahead of Goodes to start. Goodes is just around the squad as insurance/plug gaps in a real time of crisis. Doggies need to get games in to the younger lads.

    Daniel · 20/04/2015 at 12:58

I'm looking at Goodes being my first premo upgrade too.

Luckily have $100 in the bank, so hoping to go Goodes to a Hibberd type player, then downgrading Newton (who I think won't be pumping out too much more than what we've seen) to Krakouer and running with that.

Puts Ibbottson at D5 and then only have to play one of McIntosh/Oxley/Saad

      @TheNoLanguage · 20/04/2015 at 13:25

I have Ibbo too but atm Oxley and McIntosh are looking like better scorers tbh!

@TylerCArmstrong · 19/04/2015 at 22:47

Parker to Sloane… my minds telling me no. But my body, my body's telling me yeeeessssss.

    scrofl · 19/04/2015 at 23:18

    Listen to your mind.

    @HJ_Mitch · 19/04/2015 at 23:45

I'd aim to get both Sloane & Parker in your team if you can.

    Danners16 · 20/04/2015 at 09:00

Got to keep faith in Parker, if it was Griffen to Sloane, I would say yes

    SideBySidebottom · 20/04/2015 at 13:47

Mind over matter, mate. The effects of his concussion should be out of his system by now and he should start producing the scores you were anticipating from now on.

    Jacob · 20/04/2015 at 21:46

Anyone else concerned by the time he spent up forward. Reckon Sydney might value Hannebery and Jack on the ball more than Parker.

    Tofor · 21/04/2015 at 15:40

Just can't drop Parker just yet. You just can't.

scrofl · 19/04/2015 at 22:49

Trading B. Goodes out for Smith this week. Contemplating trading out Maric for Swan (by swapping Bellchambers into the ruck), but I'm not sure… thoughts?

    SideBySidebottom · 20/04/2015 at 13:55

I have all three of them. I wouldn't want to rely on Belch to consistently perform at R2. When I'm upgraded he'll be bench cover only. I'd keep Maric, he's a bit slow out of the blocks but gains momentum through the season as a general rule.

Nick · 19/04/2015 at 22:56

is it a good idea to do a side ways trade hibberd to Brodie smith?

    FootyFanatic · 19/04/2015 at 23:02

    scrofl · 19/04/2015 at 23:18

Nope, Hibberd will come good. Hold.

    Danners16 · 20/04/2015 at 09:00

    Keep faith in Hibberd

Jezg · 19/04/2015 at 23:01

Sorry. Add hogan to that fwd line

The Ranger · 19/04/2015 at 23:23

Love ya work Jock, some calm words needed at the moment.
Having said that I'm considering some drastic moves this week as these are most definitely drastic times.
My old man always told me that where's there's muck there's brass and I'm thinking that in amongst all this carnage there must lie some gold.

Ethan · 19/04/2015 at 23:23

was jake kelly a one off player or will he continue to feature in the adelaide side?
if so would it be smart to offload goodes straight to him.
Question 2
What would be bellchambers highest price. He doesnt look like avereraging close 80 but above 65. would it be smart to trade him now to hogan or wait a week to offload to krakour

    Juzzy · 19/04/2015 at 23:44

I am assuming you picked TBC as a forward and for ruck coverage (as did I).
Nothing has changed. I can't think of any reason to trade him to chase a few points or dollars.
If a rookie ruck emerges later in the season he will be gone in a heartbeat, but until then he may serve an important role in your team.

Jezg · 19/04/2015 at 23:30

Other than my before mentioned trade of bartel to bont any thoughts on my current side.
Shaw Higgins Kelly newnes saad Mcintosh oxley hamling/ pendles fyfe selwood Lewis Judd Heeney rich crips CEY vanders Anderson/ goldy nicnat read/ gray swan bartel hogan Salem Clarke krackour Steele
Any polishing up needed short term? Again 1 trade only used 100k in bank. Thoughts

nuggets galore · 19/04/2015 at 23:34

Ive traded newnes fof cale hooker and bartel for gray? thoughts on cale hooker ? Is it a good trade will he continue to pump out consistent 100s ?

    Phil · 20/04/2015 at 00:07

Not sure nuggets usually I'd confidently say no but Hurley seems to be taken the best forward each week so maybe Hooker will continue to get a bit of ball

    @RyanRhino14 · 20/04/2015 at 00:08

Hooker had a really good start to last year as well but then he dropped off so I'd be cautious and look at other options before bringing him in

    @t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 01:11

    Agree with Ryan.

Buyer Beware on Hooker Nuggets. Check out his scores last season. Declined like his team did.

    Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 09:52

If you look back too last year cale done the same thing last year went well at the start went up in price then pumped out 60s 70s I can’t see him being in the top 10 def so don’t waste your traded you will end up wasting 3 trades in the end.
    1 bring him in
2 have to down grade a rookie for cash to upgrade
    3 upgrade to premium

    SideBySidebottom · 20/04/2015 at 14:02

Cale is 26 yo and his highest average over his seven year career was 79 last year after starting well.

ManOvSteele · 20/04/2015 at 00:01

Have Parker, do not have Sloane, should I upgrade, also what about a sneaky Salem to Jack Martin upgrade?

    @t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 01:13

Don't need to be sneaking around whilst making trades ManO, hold Salem.

Hold Parker, he's a gun. Wouldn't have given a thought of trading him at 3/4 time v Dons Round 1. HOLD.

    Tofor · 21/04/2015 at 15:40

    Hold Parker Hold.

Matt · 20/04/2015 at 00:24

Have two players in the gun this week in Bartel and Gibson. Bartel looks like he'll be out for 4-6 and for mine it's too much cash sitting on the pine. Gibsons output this week isn't what I was expecting. With Frawley now out for around 8 it looks like Gibbo won't be playing that wheel and deal type role.
Thoughts Jock and community

    uda · 20/04/2015 at 00:38

    gibson has has to go.

    @t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 01:15

Gibson is playing, got to hold him.

    Concentrate on the Bartel trade.

      Matt · 20/04/2015 at 11:17

Yeah second guessing trading Gibson. Just thinking about the price drop he'll take next. But also I dont like chasing points.
Bartel > Roughead seems the logical move but am tempted by Buddys form.

        SideBySidebottom · 20/04/2015 at 14:05

I'm holding Gibson, If he ends up at D6 it could be worse you would think.

    Canardly Cee · 20/04/2015 at 09:59

Someone said to me with Frawley out, Gibson would not be scoring as well – seems ot be the case. Agree with @t_woof, bartel is the greater problem!

      @t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 16:30

Hawks dominated the Doggies on the weekend too. Less ball down back. Play Port next Round, Gibson will be a lot busier down back…..could easily come out with 90+

Agree with SbS, could do a lot worse than having Gibson @ D6.

    Rawkus11 · 21/04/2015 at 20:11

Gibson was one of the top 10 defenders last year with an ave of 97 from 14 games without Frawley so can't imagine too much will change this year. He'll ave 85-95 in the weeks frawley is out then could go at 100+ for the remainder of the year. HOLD

LoopyHermit · 20/04/2015 at 00:24

Ripper of a podcast boys.
Like many in the community I was decimated by injury this week. My big question is especially is who should i pickup for bartel??? looking at Gray, The Bont and Buddy. Also do I need to get rid of mummy this early?? played ok in first 2 games, is it worth to hold, been hearing people saying their getting rid of him but it seems to early to me.

    uda · 20/04/2015 at 00:39

gray will drop more in price than buddy. get buddy and gray closer to the bye rounds.

    @t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 01:18

Hold Mumford. He'll be Top 5 ruck, not point trading out.

Either Gray or Franklin good selections. Wouldn't stress if they're still dropping….as you've got to get someone in to replace Jimmy Bartel. Franklin likely to drop less.

Winter · 20/04/2015 at 00:30

Ok so just a few questions…..

1. Which rookie would you bench out of Saad, McIntosh, Oxley?
2. Would you choose either Swan or Pendlebury as VC?
3. If the one you chose gets a dud score who would you choose for captain out of Fyfe or Lewis?

    uda · 20/04/2015 at 00:40

    swan (worried about pedles ankle)

    @t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 01:23

EM Loophole them when you can. I started Oxley & Saad this week. Will likely do the same again. McIntosh's efficiency hurts his scores. You should be looking to EM Loophole McIntosh next Friday Winter.

Go with whoever has best recent record v opponent.

Jayden · 20/04/2015 at 01:14

Bloody horrible week was in top 200 last week but got skyrocketed out of that

I’ve got wines in my side who I could get rid of also got Parker and Newnes who I am considering getting rid off now not sure which 2 I should prioritise?

What’s peoples thoughts?

    @t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 01:26

It was a tough weekend Jayden.

I'd be concentrating on the Wines trade. Parker is a gun, hold him mate. Think back to 3/4 time Round 1 v Dons, wouldn't have traded him for the world…stick fat with him. Newnes, he's getting better….Loved his work rate v Pies. St Kilda v Carlton next weekend, should score well.

      Jayden · 20/04/2015 at 02:14

Just think Parker is gonna give us those 70-90 scores too much just like last year at points
Will hold Newnes for sure just needs to look after the ball then he will score well

        Marco_Polo94 · 20/04/2015 at 07:35

        Parker will come good mate

    Tofor · 21/04/2015 at 15:41

    t_woof is spot on.
Hold Parker and Newnes for now.. but Wines has probably got to go.

@t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 01:38

Enjoyed the podcast lads!! Someone may have to visit Crouching tomorrow with a Coffee and Egg & Bacon Roll…sooth that Rum Hangover.

Tough weekend. 2310 Round 2, 2100 Round 3. Ziebell 150 Pts Round 2, 4 Pts Round 3. Brutal game at times, stay strong!!

But there were positives – Hodge 177 GUN! Held Cripps, 89. Replaced Gaz with Sloane rather than Shiel, Wines or Bontempelli.

Sticking fat with Newnes, his work rate impressed me on Friday night. Kept working until the final siren, getting to contests. Could have had another 3-4 disposals if team mates like Shane Savage didn't burn him. St Kilda v Carlton next weekend, he can score well.

If i had Parker or Griffen, i'd be holding. Same with Hibberd, hold.

Hope the news re Bartel, Wines, Ziebell etc is as good as it can be. Enjoy the week ahead all.

    Marco_Polo94 · 20/04/2015 at 07:35

This weekend proved that spending the extra $100k for a safer option in Sloane is sometimes wiser than the riskier in form players like Shiel.

      Charlesy · 20/04/2015 at 10:36

Spot on Marco. That really worked for me

        @t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 16:44

+1 Agree. Worked out well. Sloane looking a MUST for all teams. Cost a trade, but happy he's in now.

    Locked and Loaded · 20/04/2015 at 09:38

Great summary! Newnes worked hard and his DE will improve. Parker and Griffen will be good POD's come end of season. Griff especially just needs time to settle he will be ok. I traded in Heppell for Gaz this week instead of Wines, JPK or Lewis. Right decision so far hope it continues

      @t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 16:47

      Heppell, not bad trade L&L.

He's become a very consistent scorer. Nice POD choice.

    SideBySidebottom · 20/04/2015 at 15:03

Well done tw. Lots of good answers to some of the questions above that we can all learn from.

      @t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 16:48

Thanks SbS! I try to help out where i can. Very interesting few weeks coming up.

Tyler · 20/04/2015 at 02:43

Heyguys, just interested in anyone's opinion in what my next move should be
Def: Higgins, Malceski, Newnes, Enright, Oxley, Saad (Mcintosh, Hamling)
Mid: Fyfe, Selwood, Judd, Swallow, Dangerfield, CEY, Heeney, Vandenberg(Miller, Krakouer, Lambert)
Rk: Goldstein, Maric (Read)
Fwd: Gray, Swan, Martin, Zorko, Salem, Clark(Hogan, Lonie)
118,600 left over
Honestly, I can't see any thing fancy to trade this week. Im facing pretty soft competition but I've been beaten narrowly both rounds, 30 points first round and 11 this week. My opponents both scored out of their skin and while I do have good players, only 1 or 2 are scoring big scores a week. So what should I do, hold the trades or is their a good option to trade for?
Cheers T

    Walto69 · 20/04/2015 at 02:54

    Malceski to Lumumba
    Judd to Sloane
    Good idea or not?

    YouBloodyRippa · 20/04/2015 at 05:20

    hold imo

    Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 09:57

Get rid of Malceski for b smith the rest of your team is good for now hold onto your trades

    judd0 · 20/04/2015 at 10:22

Probably hold Tyler, maybe trade Malceski, maybe. But i would hold.

James · 20/04/2015 at 06:45

birchall or hodge?
and who should i get or griffen can only be around 525k

    Danners16 · 20/04/2015 at 09:02

Hodge looks like he has wound back the clock. If you don't have too many out in the round 12 bye, Neale would be a good option.

    @t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 16:49

Hodge for mine. Extra weeks data for his 2015 output than Birchall, plus he is DPP.

    I'd stick fat with Griff.

nathan · 20/04/2015 at 07:03

Is it worth trading goodes to a rookie we expect to play later during the season like a goddard an co?

B/E 97 wont get near that and will continue to drop in price

    Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 10:00

Look just hold at the moment I have him too. Morris went down injured, 4+ weeks and I think that goods will step into his place

    judd0 · 20/04/2015 at 10:20

Not worth it at all. The only reason i would trade Goodes this week is if you didn't have Oxley, Saad or Mckintosh.

Marco_Polo94 · 20/04/2015 at 07:32

Thankfully my SuperCoach team wasn't exposed to the carnage of the weekend, apart from many underscoring premiums my only injury was Wallis! Dream team not so lucky….. Wines, Bartel, Wallis… And I had Mumford, Parker and griffen woo!

For my SuperCoach I'm strongly considering a mummy to Soloman Grundy move. This would give me plenty in the war chest and allow me to upgrade Wallis if I want. Speaking of Mitch, I could use either him or lambert to get in kraqouer…. What should I do community with Wallis, upgrade or downgrade? I'm absolutely stumped I've been so happy with him.

    Luke · 20/04/2015 at 12:09

I am going Mumford to Grundy also

    Luke · 21/04/2015 at 14:26

I have Wallis and was really liking the selection. Damn SC Gods!
I have relevant rooks so thinking up to Watson or JPK if over 3 weeks

Harrison · 20/04/2015 at 07:49

I have Goodes, Wallis, Bartel, Kolo, Newnes, Lambert, Griffen, all either under-performing or injured

goodes, kolo, newnes, griffen are under-performing
wallis, bartel, lambert injured

what to do hmmm. well i have 85k in the bank from last weeks Gaz trade soo…
Gonna have to stick fat with the underperfermers for one more week. Can someone please give me the B/E's of those underperformers.
with lambert im going to use him as a loophole until he gets back and makes some coins. wallis and bartel are gone (sadly) brings a tar to my eyes. WHat to do with bartel and wallis thinking bartel to franklin/bont/roughead/pav and wallis mid upgrade

Please help, thoughts very welcome

    Bellybuttonfluff · 20/04/2015 at 08:57

Just cry .. I am in the same boat as you… I think I'll just cry the rest of the year out

    Riley · 20/04/2015 at 09:30

    BE are as follows,

    Goodes = +97
    Kolo = +76
    Newnes = +90
    Griffen = +107
    Wallis = +82
    Bartel = +230
    Lambert = -11

      Harrison · 20/04/2015 at 17:05

      thankyou very much Riley

    judd0 · 20/04/2015 at 10:18

    Injuries come before under performance.
    Bartel out
    Wallis out
This is a fun time for you, there are value picks out there, you must find them. Trading is the most exhilarating part of the game.
Who do you have in the forward line?

      Harrison · 20/04/2015 at 17:04

Gray, Martin, Bartel, Swan, Salem, Hogan, Lambert and Lonie.

Bartel is gone but for who?

Sarah · 20/04/2015 at 08:10

Wow, that was a shocking round! Didn't even break the 2000 points barrier. Bartel really hurt. Was looking like the pick of the forwards preseason. Will probably pick him back up when he comes back and his price drops as a result of the 5 he scored on the weekend, but for now he's become Franklin. I'm with Jock and Higgo, reckon he'll go big very soon…

    I N Pieman · 20/04/2015 at 09:49

Bartel killed me as well Sarah. His preseason form demanded selection. Just a bit unlucky really. He must go. Agree Buddy does look ominous. That 5 will sit in Jimmy's price for a few games & grab him again later when he bottoms out.

      Sarah · 20/04/2015 at 09:57

Hey Pieman. Are you going for Franklin too? I'm definitely planning on bringing Bartel back later on, will be watching him closely.

        I N Pieman · 20/04/2015 at 10:21

Doc Larkins saying Bartel likely ACL. Geez I hope he's wrong. Buddy high in calculations despite my hatred of KPF. I have a few holes to fix. But Jimmy to Buddy very likely.

          Sarah · 20/04/2015 at 10:38

Oh god I hope it's not an ACL.

            The Ranger · 20/04/2015 at 11:11

Hi Sarah, morning Pieman, it's been a tough start to the year eh?
I like the look of Franklin but I'm with Pieman on not likng KPF's.
Generally I go for the MID/FWDS first.
Currently considering a big shark move of Bartel and Mummy out and Nic Nat and Krak in which would pocket me $545K.
All my rookies are travelling ok so that extra cash would allow me to trade up big before the byes and perhaps get the jump on the shoal.
It sounds crazy but it just might work…whaddya think?

              Sarah · 20/04/2015 at 11:30

Hey Ranger! Interesting approach. Not sure I like it though. You're doing a sideways trade effectively with Naitanui as his average is pretty much the same as Mumford. Yes he'll make you $90k by doing the trade, but I doubt he'll score you more points than Mumford in the long run. Yes Mumford dropped $42k on the weekend, by trading now you're locking in that loss of money, whereas by keeping him for the season, you've saved trades! Sideways trading is always fraught with danger. The second you do the trade, I almost guarantee you Mumford will come out and score a 150 and Naitanui will get injured, such is the wrath of the supercoach gods!! You want to also make sure you don't lower the overall scoring ability of your team by downgrading Bartel to a rookie. I realise Krakouer is an experienced rookie, but there's no guarantee he'll back up his 82 next week. While it's definitely a shark move that you've proposed, I feel it is a little too risky for me to throw my support behind it… but what do I know… it may be the move that wins you the $50k also!! No risk, no reward in this game mate!

                The Ranger · 20/04/2015 at 11:50

They're all valid points and I'm normally a lot more timid with my trades Sarah but something about this one has my gut instinct all of a flutter!
Mummy was always going to be a bit of a punt and I'd planned to drop him early if he didnt rack up big points so I'm prepared to take the hit.
It's the Bartel to Krak bit that is the real nerve jangler. Krak has only played one game!
I'd definitely take a short term hit but the upside could be huge.
Still, it's only Monday…I'll stew on it for a bit.

                  Sarah · 20/04/2015 at 11:54

See how you feel about it on Friday! If you're still in love with the idea then I say go for it!!

                    I N Pieman · 20/04/2015 at 12:26

Have to love Monday rage Ranger & Sarah. It has been a bad start, but the tide will turn. Copping a 10 last week & a 5 this week is painful. I too pondered the slaughter of Bartel to Krak. But I think in this case a premo to a premo is required. Think it's best to get another look at Krak before pulling the trigger. I have the loaded double barrel shotgun straight in front of Thumpers face at the moment. He is spudding it bad. I've loaded my mids & skimped Fwd & Back. There will be short term pain for long term gain.

                    The Ranger · 20/04/2015 at 12:41

Rage is the word for it Pieman!
Hopefully the red mist will have cleared by Friday.

                    SideBySidebottom · 20/04/2015 at 15:19

If you trade down to Krakouer, who probably won't be a keeper, you'll burn another trade on the way up as opposed to a straight swap for the LTI. Bartel will be my fourth LTI trade so I'm conserving as many as I can now.

Haz · 20/04/2015 at 08:31

Have some players i'm thinking about trading, which two should i trade this week, and who should i get in for them ? The players are: Malceski, Newnes, Lycett, Maric and Griffen. Please help out

    derek · 20/04/2015 at 09:50

wait another few weeks, you will get them cheaper plus more fallen premium options will emerge

    TOPHAWK1 · 20/04/2015 at 09:50

    Hi Haz,

I traded Malceski last week before his massive price drop this week. I took a punt getting rid of him, but I watched him closely in the first two rounds and sensed something was up with him. I reckon Malceski is the guy to get rid of unless a massive form reversal. Watch him closely over next week or two.

Newnes gets plenty of the footy but his lack of disposal efficiency has cost him points. I have him and I will stick with him. (For now).

Lycett is another serious candidate for the chopping block. IMO you need to get rid of him FAST. Absolutely useless yesterday against Freo. (48pts) Have a serious look at Brody Grundy from the pies. Average of 95 pts over first three rounds and is still cheaper than Lycett. Straight switch I reckon. And still bank 26K by doing this trade.

I have Maric. He is serviceable and will stick with him. He averages a steady 86, a bit below par, but hopefully he can improve moving forward.

I have Griffen also. This guy is very unpredictable and frustrating. I am starting to wear a little thin on patience here, but will give him 2 more rounds. He is capable of big scores. If he does not improve, he will be dropped before the next price changes.

I reckon your number one priority is fixing lycett whilst Malceski is not as urgent. Dont use up too many trades too early.

    Hope this helps.

      BlakeyP · 20/04/2015 at 13:57

Next price change? That is not the way it works mate players who have played 3 games will go up and down each week dependent on BE.

    Tofor · 21/04/2015 at 15:44

Of those I'd say Malceski yes.. probably has to go.
I just don't think he's ever going to get the job done this season.. that there's better options for cheaper.
Rest of them I'd probably hold.. Lycett is a bit of a worry..

JustinB · 20/04/2015 at 08:36

Maric has averaged 86 and Minson 83.67 but scored 95 on the weekend..I want to get Goldstein in but not sure if I should hold or bring him in.

    Jamie · 20/04/2015 at 09:21

They will possibly be the top 3 rucks for the year. I have Goldy and MInson and won't be changing. I would say hold unless your team is perfect. Goldy is still going up in value and will have to drop eventually. You will be paying top dollar for him at the moment.

      JustinB · 20/04/2015 at 09:42

DEF: Shaw, Lumumba, Newnes, Mcintosh, Oxley Saad [Brown, Hamling]
MID: Sloane, Fyfe, Selwood, Rich, Ellis-Yolmen, Griffen, Swallow, Heeney [Vandenberg, Newton, Cripps]
      RUCK: Maric, Minson [Read]
FWD: Swan, Gray, Martin, Bellchambers, Salem, Clark [Hogan,Lonie]

As you can see my team is near perfect. I have no reason to pull a trade on any of my players barring side trades due to under performers. Do you think hold onto both Maric & Minson and maybe look at doing something with Griffen or Bellchambers?

        Jamie · 20/04/2015 at 10:06

My question to you would be is using a trade worth the extra 10-15 points? That's something you must answer. I would say it wouldn't be for me, especially at Goldy's price. He will have to come down eventually.

I would keep the trade, as they are gold.

        Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 10:11

Yer hold your rucks and hold on griff I know it’s hard I have him too but with bell down grade to Krakouer and bank the cash and move hogan onto the ground

        judd0 · 20/04/2015 at 10:13

Agree with Jamie, I have exactly the same ruck and forward line as you and won't even be considering making a trade this week.

          JustinB · 20/04/2015 at 10:19

Thanks guys, really helpful stuff. I was thinking about downgrading Bellchambers to Krak and having the extra $, but might wait for Krak to be on the bubble and see how Bellchambers goes another week and hold onto that Ruck cover a little while longer.

Bellybuttonfluff · 20/04/2015 at 08:53

Sniff……*crying*….sniff.. After 2 bad weeks I thought well it can't get worse than this. Then it does….(bartel, wallis) now have worse ranking than when I first started playing 8years ago. I wanted to talk to Jock on pod but was crying too much .. I think it's over, such a short life , snuffed out in savage cruelty. Is there a group of losers like me out there? jake the snake · 20/04/2015 at 09:07

I'd hold one more week for Griffo, its only been the 3rd game for him at a new club, plus they're playing GC next weekend. I'm banking on him busting out 120+

jk1d · 20/04/2015 at 09:08

Bellchambers.. Has scored 82,61,70 and has appreciated in value by $15k. He has a breakeven of 58 next week which is likely to hit but won't appreciate much. Do I

A) Hold

B) Trade him out to Bontempelli who is on the bubble.

    Sarah · 20/04/2015 at 09:56

Remember the reason you selected Bellchambers… was it for ruck cover? If the answer is yes then you have to hold. Bontempelli wont be able to help you if one of your rucks misses a week or two.

      jk1d · 20/04/2015 at 10:01

Thanks Sarah. It was for ruck cover but I feel I could sacrifice that cover option and going with someone who can score higher and consistently.

        SideBySidebottom · 20/04/2015 at 19:39

When your team's upgraded and he's bench cover you'll feel a lot better about keeping him.

      derek · 20/04/2015 at 11:07

good point sarah if you wanted ruck cover you still need him there, nothing has changed.

I have him at R2, and just want 6-7 solid games out of him, increase in value a little bit and be able to get a fallen premium

        harbl100 · 20/04/2015 at 12:47

I have him for ruck cover, so i'm not going to be tempted into trading for a FWD or FWD/MID premium. But if he doesn't improve and Ryder hits his stride….whoooshka!

    Canardly Cee · 20/04/2015 at 10:03

I have him in my FWD and will keep as a swing option into RUC if needed.

    judd0 · 20/04/2015 at 10:08

Keep him for ruck cover, especially considering as you said he will appreciate for another couple of weeks hopefully.

Only opinion, the last couple years will have taken a toll on the pshyche of Essendon's players. Some people excel and others struggle under immense pressure. Essendon's list has continually responded positively under extreme duress over the past couple of years, The weeks that produced the bleakest news were answered with resounding victories. Now the storm has passed the relief may overwhelm their constitutions after an initial flurry. Time will tell. Jobe is only one of them.

Shannon Hurn community. What do I do?

    Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 10:17

mrfosak · 20/04/2015 at 09:17

What to do with Brett Deledio??

    Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 10:20

Trade him he is going to be in and out all year and you don’t want that headache if you don’t have dusty bring him in

Mumford to Grundy?

    Locked and Loaded · 20/04/2015 at 09:46

Stick with Mumford I know I will.

    Tofor · 21/04/2015 at 15:45

    I don't think it's worth it.

Jamie · 20/04/2015 at 09:27

I avoided bad premiums and injuries this week to score 2349, which puts me ranked 67 overall. Jock and crew, your wisdom over the last few year have helped me to get to this stage. I bloody love you blokes.

My biggest issue at the moment is Brett Goodes. What to do with him? My current option is to trade in Ramsey from Collingwood. He looks good for them and has been scoring well. What do you think community?

Or should I look for a rookie and bank the cash? He will be the only trade I make this week and don't want to hold him.

    derek · 20/04/2015 at 09:47

hold. Goodes will play enough games to keep is place as bench cover in your team. Dogs have a few injury worries, he'll get games.

      northernsoul74 · 20/04/2015 at 10:28

Really struggling to see why people think Goodes will get much more game time. When he has played he's been poor. Webb started ahead of him and did ok. Boyd, Bont, and Easton Wood all to return. Hamling, Clay Smith and Biggs all knocking the door down from the VFL team. Dogs also need to get game time in to Hrovat, Prudden, Hunter etc as well.

        derek · 20/04/2015 at 11:04

if there were other options in defence I would get rid of him, but there isn't.

    Jay · 20/04/2015 at 09:57

Mate, great job…..well done, you're scoring superbly – sitting #67 overall, if your only concerns are Goodes, I would hold from trading – no need for "luxury" trading this early in the season. Goodes will get games and will justify his place as bench cover…..I'd hold off from trading bank the trade – will come in handy at the business end of the season when you're going hard for the 50k…

      Locked and Loaded · 20/04/2015 at 10:18

I'd personally trade him as I will be doing this week. I may be wrong although I just don't see him even being good enough cover woud rather invest in a Roberton or Hunt who's JS you'll never worry about and can pump out big scores. Foos for thought

        Jay · 20/04/2015 at 10:33

Definitely food for thought!! I'm in the same boat with Goodes losing money down back – last couple of years i pulled the trigger and traded my bench cover players without realizing that players i'm bringing in will cost me another trade in upgrade later in the year (so in hindsight where i thought it was only 1 trade, it turned out 2 trades)…..and before i realized i ran out of trades heading into the last 4 rounds of the season, so thus my slightly conservative approach this season…

    Jamie · 20/04/2015 at 10:22

Thanks guys, something I will definitely need to have a think about. The vest with him is my biggest worry, so he wouldn't be much use as bench cover.

I got caught last year running out of trades so may need to keep him.

      Charlesy · 20/04/2015 at 12:16

I’ve got him too Jamie and was happy to keep him as a bench cover. Then he gave up the ball in a tackle v Hawks and the camera clearly showed beveridge saying ‘oh for f..k sake Goodesy!’ It put a chill up my spine mate. I’m waiting on selection this week and if he’s not picked I ll think of trading him. Trouble is I have all the good defence rookies so not sure where to go. Lol

        Jamie · 20/04/2015 at 12:20

Yeh I'm thinking the same thing. I have all the good rookies too, that's why I was thinking Ramsey from Collingwood. He has just had a $50k increase so may not make a lot more money.

      Swans2012 · 20/04/2015 at 17:15

Personally I reckon you need to show him the door, there is every chance he’ll go down in value with continued vest, I got rid of him last week for hunt, but that’s no longer economical imo, I’d go h Goddard, will play eventually and in the meantime is a handy emergency loophole, and banks 100k.

    SideBySidebottom · 20/04/2015 at 19:54

If you've got the main rookies and your defence line is adequate I'd hold him. I flicked him last week because the vest issue was annoying me and I wanted Oxley but if I was 67th I would bench him and conserve my trades.

Tyler · 20/04/2015 at 09:27

who to trade bartel for? I already have Gray and swan, no bont though

    judd0 · 20/04/2015 at 09:59

Martin should be a top 6 this year.

      Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 11:00

I would go Martin as well I allready had Martin so I went bartel to franklin

    Jay · 20/04/2015 at 10:00

Franklin or if you're looking for an adventurous trade – if you've got Higgins in your backline, swing him forward trade in Tom McDonald – bank the $132k for upgrading mid-field/forward rookie

Jay · 20/04/2015 at 09:47

Great podcast guys!! Absolute ripper – love the advice of holding trades……I'm also in a bit of a conundrum this week – Goodes losing money down back, Parker and Griffen stinking up the otherwise solid midfield and unfortunate injury to Bartel up forward…..have traded out Parker/Griffen and Bartel several times over already – and its only 9.45am Monday morning!!

Listened to the podcast for the second time and can hear Higgo's "HOLD" voice in my head now…….sense has come to me, and the only trade I will consider this week is Bartel -> Franklin…..BUT this will occur only after friday night Tigers v Demons game, if Hogan gets 80+, i'll take his score and keep Bartel on the pine this week and downgrade to Krakouer next week and upgrade either Griffen/Parker/Goodes if they have another stinker/sub this week!!

Thanks for all the great advice Jock/Higgo/Crouching! 🙂

Gareth · 20/04/2015 at 10:13

Any advice on who to downgrade B Goodes for (already have Oxley, Saad and McIntosh)? Should I keep on to Mummy?

    Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 10:25

Hold I have him too Morris went down injured 4+ week and goods will step into his role

Kevin · 20/04/2015 at 10:14

Should I downgrade Griffin to Rich or upgrade to Lewis or Neale
Also, who should I trade Brett Goodes for

Thanks guys 🙂

    Matthew · 20/04/2015 at 10:20

how is lewis to neale an upgrade? one score doesn't make a premium.

Stick fat to premos, they'll reward you in the long run

      JustinB · 20/04/2015 at 11:10

He isn't saying that Matthew.. He is saying do I

      A) Downgrade Griffen to Rich
      B) Upgrade Griffen to Lewis
      C) Upgrade Griffen to Neale

        MC · 20/04/2015 at 18:18

Well how is griffin to neale an upgrade, anybody that trades in neale this week is a flog. I am one of the 7% that has had neale prior to round 3 and I would like to keep it that way! Why would you pay 520k for him, he’s a straight swap to Lewis in 2 weeks

    Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 10:29

Hold onto goods. griff hold one more week he’s got the GCS this week will score big then offload to a fallen premo. Save your trades if no injurys.

    Jay · 20/04/2015 at 10:39

I'm personally holding on to Griffen – but if you are really looking for a trade, i'd go to a proven premo – J Lewis/R Sloane would be the obvious ones, I wouldn't be tempted by Neale – one score doesn't make a premo! Would probably consider Mundy over Neale…

      Nuggetty · 20/04/2015 at 12:28

I threw the C on Neale yesterday instead of Fyfe which got me the win. 170 is pretty Premium if u ask me!

        Jay · 20/04/2015 at 12:37

Again, as i said, one score doesn't make him a premo – even JJK, Tex Walker, Jarrad Waite have had scores on 170+ – i wouldn't classify any of those as premos…

Well done for taking the risk and throwing the C on Neale – all I can say is you've got bigger balls than i have!! The game is all above risk v reward……He got you bonus 170 pts this week, but the kid hasn't even averaged 90+ for a season yet its a bit premature on calling him a premo!! Good luck this weekend with the C on Neale…

          Marco_Polo94 · 20/04/2015 at 12:47

Agreed. Reason i didn't select neale in my starting line up is because he hasn't been consistent enough so far. He could turn the corner this season but so far his trend is 80-100 for about 3 weeks and then a big ton.

          Nuggetty · 20/04/2015 at 13:26

Fair enough mate. Of course if he manages 1 more 40+ game this year he’ll have achieved something that only 2 players did last year, those being Ablett and rockliff.

BTW neither Sloane or Griffin were amongst the 17 players that hit 40 disposals last year.

No player starts off a Premium..

Locked and Loaded · 20/04/2015 at 10:19

Hold Griff at worst will be a great M7 or M8 POD come ebd of year once he's settled at the Giants.

    Locked and Loaded · 20/04/2015 at 10:19

I believe in Griffen to be that M8 spot by years end
I believe in sidways trades are trading into to trouble
I believe in only sidway trading an injured player

Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 10:37

I had too make two trades this week ( Bartel, wallis)

I traded Bartel to franklin and traded Wallis to Krakouer and I have 470k in the kitty

Or if you think there is something better too do with out the trades I have 210k in the kitty

    phil · 20/04/2015 at 14:55

I'm in the same boat here buddy what a disaster!!! It's one thing having 2 players injured but going down in the first quarter just makes it so much worse.

Your trades look real good and I'm considering the same. I do have Lambert in the midfield so I can swing him forward and get either Sloane or Fyfe instead of Buddy. Don't know what I'll do yet. But in your case Buddy is defintely the best Forward to trade in for mine and Krakouer the best mid rookie

    derek · 20/04/2015 at 14:23

it was a very good podcast. Listened to it as I drove to work this morning, almost ran off the road.

Mike · 20/04/2015 at 10:47

Thanks Crouching, you’ve put my own disastrous weekend of Supercoach into perspective. Sometimes things are so bad, you’ve just got to laugh, and hearing your captain pick did that for me, thanks again.

In response I’ve gone Bartel to Bont, and Griffen to Sloane. Yes I’ll run out of trades come finals, but at least I’ll be in the finals.

Every mid-pricer I’ve picked this year is spudding it up, I’m hoping Bont will be the exception.

    Jay · 20/04/2015 at 11:22

I'd be holding Griffen at least for this week – up against the suns, last 3 scores against The Suns: 132, 101, 124

      Jay · 20/04/2015 at 11:25

Sorry, add 145 and 118 to that list as well in 2011 – giving a pretty solid average of 124 against The Suns

        @t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 17:01

Damning stats Jay! I've suggested holding him. After seeing those numbers it's an absolute no brainer now!

        Superb work mate!!

      SideBySidebottom · 22/04/2015 at 00:51

Would that be the definition of a flat track bully? The opposite of who you'd want next to you in the trenches?

Rick Grimes · 20/04/2015 at 11:13

What to do with Mummy. Feel like I should give him another week, but if he spuds out again i'm losing ranking as well as money. Goldy looks the best SC option, also reckon Stefan Martin might be an option if Leuy is on the outer.

    CJay · 20/04/2015 at 12:06

I think the biggest problem with Mummy is we were expecting more bang for our buck.
Comparing total points Goldy is a standout where those that started with Grundy have got value.
    Total points
    Goldy 364
    Grundy 285
    Jacobs 281
    Nic Nat 272
    Mummy 267
    Martin 260
    BellCh 213
Providing Mummy does not get rubbed out for rough conduct I think we have to give him another week.

      Marco_Polo94 · 20/04/2015 at 12:46

Contemplating holding mummy even if he is rubbed out, reason being i'm so reluctant to trade him because it means I'm accepting the loss on him. I have Bellchambers R2, thinking i might trade out lambert in my fwd line, swinging TBC down there then trading in grundy/goldy. Grundy has held his own against Martin, luey and jacobs so far so he is hard to ignore.

    throttlefinger · 20/04/2015 at 12:30

Tough call, Rick. I have him as well. I think the new rules change doesn't favor Mummy's game. But it does favor Grundy's sloppy ass game. Is this fair? No. Does it make sense from a gaming experience standpoint? No. But it is what it is.

Considering getting Grundy before Mummy's value goes too far under $550K. If this were happening in any other line, you wouldn't be giving it as much thought. What's good for the mids is good for the rucks.

Probably going to Grundy. Yes, it doesn't make sense but it's a bizarro ruck world we now live in where Zac Smith, Blicavs and Grundy are in the top 5 rucks. Best not to argue about it and just accept it and move on…

    @thecowza · 20/04/2015 at 13:41

Set and forget.. Don't worry about Mummy he'll average 90+ rest of the reason, trades are better spent elsewhere.

      Tofor · 21/04/2015 at 15:48

      Spot on thecowza.
I reckon Mummy will still be a top 4-5 ruck, and will average 90+.
Not worth trading someone like this out for minimal gain.

grove_street · 20/04/2015 at 11:39

Had Wines and Wallis, luckily enough i've had some extra cash from GAJ trade out so I can go straight to a Lewis or Watson, and a cheaper premium/up and comer or another rookie… At this stage I've gone Watson as I feel he's returning to career best form and has shown now Heppel isn't going to steal his points… and… wait for it… Coniglio, looking at his statistics – last year he averaged 88 if you remove his sub affected scores it's closer to 90 but here's the kicker… he's never scored over 113 and finished the year really strong, it looks to me like he's gone to the next level with scores of 121 & 136 and a a sub affected score of 18. I think the game against Sydney shows he can score big against competitors and the tag is NOT going to him… yes it's a punt but by gosh if it pays off!

    JustinB · 20/04/2015 at 11:54

    Don't do it!

    higgs boson · 20/04/2015 at 12:07

All GWS mids are a risk this year. Not enough ball to go around. Treloar, Green, Ward are all ahead of him not to mention griffen, Whitfield etc

      grove_street · 20/04/2015 at 12:15

He's out scoring all of them.

        FootyFanatic · 20/04/2015 at 16:10

But will he continue to for the duration of the season? I don't think so

    derek · 20/04/2015 at 14:22

why didn't you get him in your original team??? think about that and then think about what has REALLY changed in the last 3 weeks that would make you get him now?

I many many variations of my starting team, and I must admit Coniglio was not in any of them.

      grove_street · 20/04/2015 at 16:39

Who was to know his scoring output could jump 20+

Did some more research and last year all his poor scores were sub affected and he finished the year averaging like ~110.. I think he's done enough to avoid the green vest

        Derek · 21/04/2015 at 11:20

        Sounds good

higgs boson · 20/04/2015 at 12:02

3 players in the trading block for me this week.

Bartel – injured

Kade Kolo – rubbish

Goodes – also rubbish and doesn’t fit the youth movement at the dogs.

Two options:

1) Bartel and Kolo to the Bont and Brodie Smith

2) Kolo and Goodes to Smith and rookie (eg Byrne who I think will string some games together – this option save me price drops on the defs while Jimmys price stays the same)

Thoughts community?

    throttlefinger · 20/04/2015 at 12:26

    Hey Higgies B –

Same situation. Bartel's value isn't going anywhere, yet Goodes on the other hand has a high BE and $28K+ price drop. He needs to go. KK as well. Problem is…don't have a good rook to go down to. Byrne didn't do dick in his first game YET if you really, really feel he'll string along games, take that risk. Just know the odds are not in your favor and it's better to wait to see how he goes in his second game.

Bottom line: Option one is the most sensible yet less pleasing. Option two is more pleasing but higher risk.

Got with your gut my man which you think will serve you better. Hope this helps.

      higgs boson · 20/04/2015 at 12:43

      Thanks Throttle,

Watching the game I thought Byrne had a very solid debut when he got on as the sub. Unsure of his TOG# but got 9 possessions and was around the ball a lot.

I think he is the pick of the Def rookies who have played <3 games and under 130k.

Concern is the Bont really. A 90 average is what I'm expecting from here out, but is that good enough to bring him in…?

        throttlefinger · 20/04/2015 at 12:51

My feeling on Bont is no. Short term will make you money but won't deliver that extra satisfaction he's giving in Rds 1-2.

          higgs boson · 20/04/2015 at 13:42

Bont and Smith leaves me 1.7k in the bank. It’s either the bont or option 2 really

    derek · 20/04/2015 at 14:19

Bartel should go, but it hasn't lost you any cash. I would look at Buddy!

Hold Thumper, he is not injured and playing ok. I would wait until a few of the premium defenders have fallen in price and make the trade.

Goodes, who you trade to?????? he will get games 'cause of Dogs injuries.

baxter · 20/04/2015 at 12:38

Hello community! I have no injuries but KK and Mummy are my main concerns. I was thinking Mummy down to Grundy and KK to B Smith. What’s everyone think?

    higgs boson · 20/04/2015 at 12:46

Similar to my trades above. Trading a proven but underperformed premo and KK to a risky yet in great form mid pricer and a premium defender.

    Go for it I reckon.

    Danners16 · 20/04/2015 at 13:24

    Sounds good

    derek · 20/04/2015 at 14:14

I would hold both for now.

I have KK as well, but I'm willing to wait as I think the premiums defenders are still all over priced (including Smith), sure Thumper may drop some more value, but as long as he falls in value at a less rate than some of the premiums I have in mind I'm happy for now.

Mummy is a gun and a year long keeper. With keepers, you shouldn't worry if price goes up or down.

Gareth · 20/04/2015 at 13:14

Considering his injuries woes – should I pull the trigger on Deleido now?

    Brillsy21 · 20/04/2015 at 17:16

@Seekersupacoach · 20/04/2015 at 13:31

Whoa is me I have Bartel and Wines.

However I also have KK, Newnes, Parker, Griffen, Mumford. I can loophole Wines for Cripps, Sheed or Vandenberg

So is it better to trade one or both of my underperformers or both injured players.

My potential selections would be Swan for Bartel. But who for Wines?

I'd prefer to dump Mumford for Grundy, Tbc or Nic Nat

For god sake help…

    derek · 20/04/2015 at 14:10

sorry to hear of your woes. The good part is that you haven't lost any cash with bartel and Wines.

I would look at getting Swan for bartel.

how much cash will you have left.

      @Seekersupacoach · 20/04/2015 at 20:08

Hi Derek, Bartel to Swan leaves me $78,200. Adding Wines gives me $613,600 for a second trade, meaning I can afford any mid other than Pendles or J Selwood. I suppose I can secure a mid field keeper earlier than expected? Just not sure who (I have Fyfe, too)

Tony · 20/04/2015 at 13:43

Well, I'm doing a premium sideways this week, which is against all conventional Supercoach wisdom. But it's the price I'm paying for making a mistake. Yes, he's the reigning Brownlow Medallist, but Matt Priddis looks to be zero chance of finishing in the Top 10 midfielders this year. So, he's out. I started with Pendles, Fyfe, Sloane, Lewis and Judd so I got 1 out of 6 wrong, given original pricing.

Can afford anyone below 610k (so, can't get Selwood) and am leaning to JPK. High break-even but irrelevant if he's a keeper. Other possibles are Watson, Mundy and (Tigers supporters can help here) Cotchin. Any strong views on which to choose?

    Phil · 20/04/2015 at 14:50

Tough one buddy. I reckon JPK (or anyone for that matter) break even is only irrelevant for people who own him already so until you get him I think it is relevant because you might be able to save some coin. What's Priddis break even? If it's not outrageously high it might be worth holding him a bit longer especially since he plays the lions this week and could go alright.
Rest of your midfield looks sound, I envy you for starting Fyfe & Sloane

Nash · 20/04/2015 at 14:12

Thoughts on Bob Murphy to Tom Mcdonald, Community??

    harbl100 · 20/04/2015 at 16:39

    don't like it

Ryan · 20/04/2015 at 14:53

Hey Guys,

Any advice on my team would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for league wins more than ranking, let me know what you think.

DEF: Shaw, Gibson, Lumumba, Newnes, Oxley, Saad, (Macintosh, Brown)
MID: Fyfe, Selwood, Pendles, Beams, Griffen, CEY, Cripps, Heeney, (Vandy, Miller, Lambert)
RUCK: Goldy, Nic Nat, (Read)
FWD: Buddy, Martin, Swan, Salem, Hogan, Clarke, (Lonie, Lamb)

I have made one trade this week and have made 4 so far this year. I have one trade left and $301k in the warchest and would like to know where if anywhere you would make the trade?

The three trades I would consider this week are:
Griffen to Sloane
Lambert to Krak
Lamb to Krak

    derek · 20/04/2015 at 15:59

hold trades. Griffen will hold his value, wait for another ultra premium to fall in value and trade into them (Beams, JPK)

Hold onto Lambert unless you are thinking of putting Krak on field this week. if you just going to bench him I would wait another week, his price not changing. Same with lamb, he will get games soon.

Philthy · 20/04/2015 at 15:15

Bennell was a bit of a risky call for my FWD line but i didn't think GC would be stinking it up so much this season!! Do i swing him into my MID and bring in Sloane this week, or hang on to him and wait for a rookie to appreciate another week or 2 to grab Sloane? (340k in warchest)

Griff to Neale thoughts ????

    derek · 20/04/2015 at 15:55

don't get sucked into Ross's trap!

      harbl100 · 20/04/2015 at 16:41

you could've chosen to start with Neale but you chose Griffen. Stick with him.

    @t_woof · 20/04/2015 at 17:06

    Hell No!!

Check out Jay's stats ^ further up the page re Griff v Suns. Hold.

    @TheNoLanguage · 20/04/2015 at 18:21

    Hold mate

gillie44 · 20/04/2015 at 15:49

Got Wallis, Wines and Griffen 🙁 what to do? Thinking maybe Wines to Watson and Wallis down to Krakour. Thoughts? Or any other possible trades?

    Marco_Polo94 · 20/04/2015 at 16:15

Hold griffen for now, so those are both the correct trades to make i think. As for the players depends on your structures, Watson and krakour are both sound options, however watson was given a lot of freedom over the weekend and i doubt that will continue.

Marco_Polo94 · 20/04/2015 at 16:14

Wallis out for 3-4 weeks supposedly. Hold, upgrade or downgrade? Thinking him to krakour. Also is it silly to have Lambert on my bench? Thinking once he is fit i'll just be subbing him back into my team so why bother getting rid of him now.

    harbl100 · 20/04/2015 at 16:44

since i've been lucky with injuries thus far I figured I could burn a single luxury trade, so last week i dumped Lambert for McGrath. I figure I can bring Lambert back as a downgrade later. Extrapolate from that what you will…

Mac · 20/04/2015 at 16:24

Trade Goodes to a rookie who isn't playing but will play? Like Hamling? Already got Saad, McIntosh, Oxley.

Also should I trade Kolo?

@TheNoLanguage · 20/04/2015 at 16:52

Community! What carnage. Fortunately survived the injury plague but do have a couple of concerns going into this week. My team:

B – Shaw, Higgins, Gibson, Ibbo, Oxley, McIntosh (Saad, Goodes)
M – Fyfe, JPK, Beams, Griffen, Swallow, Rich, NVB, Ellis-Yolmen (Heeney, Cripps, Vandenberg)
R – Goldy, Maric (O'Brien)
F – Swan, Buddy, Dusty, Salem, Clark, Hogan (McGrath, Lamb)

My two worries are Goodes and Maric. Not exactly pumped about Swallow and Griff but both quality players I feel will be stepping stones to ultra premos at some point. Contemplating a Maric to Grundy trade which would free up cash to upgrade Goodes? Any advice would be legendary guys, feel free to pick my team apart. Cheers

    Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 17:57

Hold don’t trade I have the same rucks and i also have Goodes keep Goodes on the bench he will get games just hold tight

Jeff · 20/04/2015 at 17:12

Andrew Swallow up to Jordan Lewis?

    Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 18:00

No he’s not injured so don’t trade kangas have a hard start but after that the draw is good and he will get you 100+ a week so hang tight

Nicholas · 20/04/2015 at 17:15

Hello Community, right now my only problems are griffen, lambert, newnes, tbc and hamling. I have cripps and miller who i think are fine maybe for now. I was thinking maybe lamber to krakouer and griffen to a ultra premo as i have over 200k in the bank. Any suggestion? and are the trades i am thinking of good.

    Nicholas · 20/04/2015 at 17:21

And for those wondering this is my team:
B-Shaw,Saad, McIntosh, Oxley, Taylor, Newnes (Ibbotson, Hamling)
M-Sloane, Fyfe, Lewis, Selwood, Ellis-Yolmen, Griffen, Heeney, Vandenberg (Miller, Cripps, Anderson)
    R- Goldstein, Naitanui(Read)
F- Swan, Gray, Martin, Hogan, Bellchambers, Salem (Clark, Lambert)
    Bank- 254,600

Any help would be appreciated, my team is looking good so far just trying to improve it.

      derek · 20/04/2015 at 18:02

you have to keep Hamling, there is no-one else to trade to (Whitecross bit expensive)

Hold the Lambert to Krakouer trade for another week, unless you want to put Krak on the field. Neither will have a price move so you can wait and see on that one.

With griffin, you have to keep him. I had Wines in my team all pre-season and after listening to the community I changed to Griffin at the last minute. first two weeks I wasn't happy, but now I'm not that un-happy. he will come good.

HOLD your war chest and wait for a few premiums to fall

      Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 18:06

      Lambert for Krakouer yes
      Hold on griff

        derek · 20/04/2015 at 18:27

hold the lambert trade unless you going to put Krak on field. his price will stay same for another week.

MC · 20/04/2015 at 17:44

What to do with Brett goodes, I have all the good rookies under 200k except n brown. I have no other problems in my team and currently underfeated ranked 2000. Looking to really separate myself from the rest with 350k in the bank but wanna keep that for an upgrade sloane! Thoughts?

    derek · 20/04/2015 at 17:57

problem with Goodes, there is no-one to trade him to. If hamling or godard had a couple of games it would be a no-brainer. I think you have to hold him for now as bench cover and wait for the next defence rookies to emerge.

      MC · 20/04/2015 at 18:11

      Can afford any def though?

        derek · 20/04/2015 at 18:26

that is the only trade to make, up to a premium. I still think a lot of the Defence premiums are over priced, wait a bit and get them cheaper. as long as the target player is falling in value more than Goodes, you are ok.

    Swans2012 · 20/04/2015 at 21:25

Got an emergency loophole player In defense? I reckon Goddard (h) will play In the next couple and in the meantime gives you an extra 100k and loophole fodder…. Unless you need someone on field?

SJP · 20/04/2015 at 17:55

Hey Community, what's your thoughts on kolodjashnij-Tom McDonald, McDonald is looking pretty solid so far.

Also Should i keep Parker? I could trade parker to someone like beams, jpk or even david mundy. trade or not?

    Dishlickers · 20/04/2015 at 18:10

Tom is looking really good keep Parker but I would save my trades I have kk and the only time I will trade him is for an ultra premo

      MC · 20/04/2015 at 18:48

There are no ultra premise in def

    THOMASJS · 21/04/2015 at 16:33

SJP I believe that you should get Bridget naidoo instead of Tom McDonald coz she's averaging high scores

Mac · 20/04/2015 at 18:58

Not sure what trades to do this week, or if I need to do any at all.

Simpson, Shaw, Newnes, Kolo, Goodes, Saad, McIntosh, Oxley
Fyfe, Selwood, JPK, Parker, Beams, Cripps, CEY, Heeney, Steele, Miller, Vandenberg
Goldstein, Maric, Read
Gray, Martin, Swan, Salem, Hogan, Clark, Lonie, Lambert

Only used one trade and have $124,000 in the bank. Thoughts?

Stevie · 20/04/2015 at 19:07

Hello community, my trades this week look like wines to Bont then swing him forward for lambert. I feel good with the rookie mids being able to cover near enuff to wines output for a while. That was going to be my only trade until I looked at what I could do with KK and then I found Birchall, this trade seems to fit for me because I bring in 2 keepers that can average 90 by years end. My only concern is the injury history, will Birchall be the burn man we know and hate or the point scorer we all know and love??

Mac · 20/04/2015 at 19:15

If people are looking to trade someone in for Bartel, I have a nice POD selection. Roughy! The man can do it all. Can score very big against the weaker teams but can still get the 100's against the stronger teams.

William · 20/04/2015 at 19:23

Next week I'm thinking of Newton to Krakour and using the cash to upgrade Rich to JPK, though that will wait probably wait for next week. Thoughts?

Adazy · 20/04/2015 at 19:32

Priddis to Lewis
B.Goodes to Savage, Hunt or Pittard???

    Mac · 20/04/2015 at 19:36

    Don't trade Priddis.

REED · 20/04/2015 at 19:38

Thoughts on Kolo to Lumumba?

Dools · 20/04/2015 at 19:49

Ok here it is community,
You brought in Premiums for a reason , unless injury is the reason HOLD, except for Rucks I think, scoring is well poo. 200 SC points is the BE for both do not trade on the line unless he goes down…..
Jumping from round to round on SC high scorers will kill you ….I see a few coach's opting for Watson, Do you think on ANZAC day that the Pies will let him roam where ever he wants, when ever he wants!!! Holy batshit folks calm down. Back your picks …Yes even Griffin is worthy of respect and HOLD this itchy trade finger you guys have is drivining me and the Fridge NUTS, What If , When IF,
I have had the round that most of you went through in Round 1, Panic is the sacfrifice to impulse trading….Stop and think. Just because some player loses $value do se not imply a loss of SC relevance.
Paint the Fence in trades ….1 Up and 1 Down..
My trades once again brought on by injury Out Jimmy Bartel ( I love that man but this is SC) In Krakouer (Wines Injury, assures game time, Plus even if avg 50s I make MONEY) Second Trade Thumper (I cried when Bambi's Mom got shot but I shed nothing on this cull) to Shaw. $596K in the vault Result!!!!
To the Fridge Los Amigo's …Impulse bad, OK
Rant over

    Jimmy Joe · 20/04/2015 at 19:59

You're a cranky man Dools but i dead set agree with you! Would love to hit the trade button on Parker and Griffen but not worth the trades at this stage. Go grab another drink Dools. Relax knowing you've done your best.

    Jye · 20/04/2015 at 20:01

not sure karkouer is 100% locked in the best 22 yet mate. he was playing impey's role this week, time will tell if he slots into the power midfield

    Jay · 21/04/2015 at 10:32

Agree with you Dools!! I traded Parker/Griffen/Bartel out over and over yesterday morning, till sense hit me and actually did some research on both the players:

    Griffin's last 5 games against the Suns: 132, 101, 124, 145, 118
Parker's last 4 against the Dockers: 127 (qualifying final), 98, 82 (preliminary final) and 108

Both give me enough reasons to hold both of them – also I think Parker is getting managed after the concussion and he will have to be unleashed in the middle against a pretty rampant Freo midfield – he will definitely spend time in the middle this week for Swans to have a chance, so i see lot of upside to Parker.

Griffen, well, those 5 scores are justification enough to hold especially playing the Suns!!

Bartel, I have to trade out, but i'm thinking to hold if Hogan (my bench cover) pumps out a 80+ score – i'll hold Bartel and then use his cash to invest in a fallen premium after another week of data – if Hogan gets a sub 70, then in comes Franklin for Bartel…

Dools · 20/04/2015 at 20:16

G'day Jye and Jimmy J
I never trade on Sunday or Game day Monday,
If you think Jye that the Game Krakouer played on Sat night was as a fill in, your team has way too much talent not on the park, That man showed gut's , determination and had the testicular fortitude to back himself and his team mates in when the game was in the balance… But I bow to your knowledge as a Port Supporter,
JJ the hardest thing is not to NOT get P1ssed off with the amount of IF's When's Maybes that has come on site in the last 2 weeks!!
I used to love getting on here but it's the same Q again and again and this annoys me no end 1. did they read the article or 2. even listen to the POD Cast????
I'm not angry anymore I have a beer and SC plan…….

    The Ranger · 21/04/2015 at 09:11

Hi Dools, like you I thought Krak looked the goods on the weekend and think his JS is good witrh Wines going down.
I'm considering Mumford to NicNat/Grundy/Biclavs and Bartel to Krak to leave me with around $530 in the bank.
All my rooks are going ok but that leaves me with a 2/4 structure up front which is a bit of a worry at least in the short term.
The safer option is to still do the ruck move but then go Bartel to Frankiln which would still give me $200K to play with.
    Which option would you advise?

      Dools · 21/04/2015 at 10:07

      Hi Ranger
stick fast to your Rucks mate. Save the trade yes losing money is never pleasant but Hold.
Bartel to Franklin is a solid move. It was between him and Krackouer. I ve gone a riskier path but if young krack can score 20 to 35 points behind Franklin for 3 rounds . I m on the gravey train.
Good luck with your choice mate. Let me know how you went?

        The Ranger · 21/04/2015 at 11:07

        Thanks Dools.
Mummy was initially going to be my trade down option to get the little master back in so I dont have a problem trading him as it's not an unplanned, reactive move. I thought he might hold value a bit better but was always planning to wait and see who popped there head up as a solid option under the new rules and then jump down to them and free up some cash.
And my rooks are doing well enough for me to come up with other routes to full Prem mids later.
Still, I take your point that trades are gold and there is no clear evidence yet to suggest who, other than Godie will be the best ruck option.
Plenty to mull over….in previous years I've taken a more conservative route with early trading but that's not won me anything yet!

    Jye · 21/04/2015 at 17:01

Nah mate, I 100% agree with what you're saying, it's just I meant that he was in for Impey and therefore it's hard to say whether Wines' injury will increase his JS because he wasn't playing in the midfield on the weekend 🙂 But you're right, he should a lot of composure so here's to hoping he's locked in the 22 and maybe even gets a rotation in the midfield!
While I'm here, what're your thoughts on Watson as POD midfield premo? I'm liking the look of him, got a few games under his belt now and should build nicely into the season.

      Dools · 21/04/2015 at 19:27

      Hi Jye,
Either Inspired or Dangerous , I'm on the Dangerous side of that particular trade… ANZAC DAY Watson will not have the freedom given last round so his score IMO will be greatly affected mate.

Michael · 20/04/2015 at 20:21

Hi community, lots of panic on here, I'm with Dools, hold your premiums, you picked them for a reason, they'll come good.
In saying that I have Lids in my crosshairs – worried that calf will linger long….
I am planning on using both trades this week, both corrective:

OUT N.Brown IN Oxley (cash generation)
OUT Lids IN The Bont (cash generation + injury)

My team post trades, still have $559K in the bank:

DEF: Lumumba, Saad, Enright, KMac, Oxley, Newnes (Goodes, Goddard)
MID: Sloane, Pendles, Rich, CEY, Heeney, Parker, NVB, SMitch (Vandenberg, Anderson, Lambert)
RUC: Goldy, Maric (Read)
FWD: Swan, Gray, Bennell, Hogan, Clark, Bont (Saad, Lamb)

Premos I have my eye on for next week include N Jones, JPK, Danger, Beams, Boak.
Do I have too much in the bank that I should be using now, or next week?
Feedback much appreciated, deep breaths peeps!

    Michael · 20/04/2015 at 20:24

Oh and I'm eyeing off Priddis as well.

      Dools · 20/04/2015 at 20:32

Like the move Priddis is GOOD but Not for me IMO to many H/balls

    Dools · 20/04/2015 at 20:31

Where was Ox trade last week mate he increased by 70k Get him in Micheal get him in NOW!!!
Lids has missed 2 hold until teams are named……Stay away from Bonts in this case I would go Franklin I would have but Krakouer opens up stuff for me, Im sure I will regret it as Franklin will go 200 but one more week for me b4 he is in

    Derek · 21/04/2015 at 11:14

Your Defence needs some premiums. I would trade Delidio to H Shaw. Swing Delidio to mid via lambert. Then trade him to H Shaw via Saad swing to mid.

    Tofor · 21/04/2015 at 16:00

Lol yeah.. my god that N Brown is a horrid SC creature…
I mean yeah he cost nothing.. but he looks like he's going to struggle to even reach 200k or average above 40.

The Benchmark · 20/04/2015 at 20:24

Community I find myself as one if the rare ones to not get hit by this injury plague and terrible output. I want to upgrade my pod who was serviceable but didn’t quite work out rampe. 105 k in the war chest aswell after the Cripps downgrade last week so I’m looking at C.Enright. He has had some tough competition and in geelongs win on the weekend scored 95 and looks to be heading up. Talk to mule please community

    The Benchmark · 20/04/2015 at 20:24

      Dools · 20/04/2015 at 20:47

Kelly is defiantly worth the coin , He has been more involved then Enright and does not have floppy foot syndrome..

        Derek · 21/04/2015 at 11:07

Agree. With Bartel out, Kelly more important

Brad · 20/04/2015 at 22:34

What do I do with Allen Christiansen? Is he shaping up to be last years wingard? Not enough midfield time and not kicking enough goals to crack the ton?

Juzzy · 21/04/2015 at 01:42

Not sure about everyone trading out KK.
Unless you can go down to a missed rookie. I think any trade up (mcdonald, docherthy etc) may be a "chasing the car" trade.
I am in the same boat . Not enjoying what Rocket has him doing but I think we need another week or 2 to decide.

    Derek · 21/04/2015 at 13:04

Suns have got a few easier games still to play. GWS, Bris, Ade, WestCoast, Pies.

They have Hawks, Freo & Swans going into the bye, but KK will be out of my team before then.

Chi Chi · 21/04/2015 at 08:09

I have both Parker and Griffen.. should I hold them both

    Jay · 21/04/2015 at 10:14

Same here, and I'm holding both at least for this week – another stinker and both will have to go!!

Kevin · 21/04/2015 at 12:10

I'm thinking trading Hurn to Hodge or Brodie Smith

Also thinking of going Goodes down to Oxley

thoughts ? Cheers 🙂

    Philthy · 21/04/2015 at 21:50

Goodes to Oxley is 2 trades, if you're cool with that then take the cash he will generate and get your upgrade quicker than with Goodes who looks a high vest candidate and may not go up in price much at all

Get the burnman out for anyone!

Derek · 21/04/2015 at 12:43

I only have 2 Port players. Gray & Krakour. Port have got two massive games coming up against Hawks and Crows. After that they have WestVoast, Brisbane, Richmond, Melbourne, dogs leading into the bye rounds.

I would have had Wines from the start except for Ports tough draw to start, was going to get him in after tough start.

Who else should we look at from Port? Couple of tough games to drop in price before the easy run!

    Derek · 21/04/2015 at 12:45

Hawks are similar, after two tough games against Port & Kangaroos, they have – West coast, Melb, swans, Suns & saints.

    Jye · 21/04/2015 at 17:02

If you're after a fallen mid premo, boak could be your man.

      Derek · 21/04/2015 at 17:26

      Thanks. Boak is perfect

Jakesy · 21/04/2015 at 13:51

Gaz and Bartel out for who?
Gas in midfield and Bartel in forward line.
I can get anyone! Cheers

Mozz · 21/04/2015 at 15:05

Okay so here's my team after round 3:

DEF: Smith, Shaw, Newnes, McIntosh, Oxley, Saad (Goddard, Hamling)
MID: Fyfe, Selwood, WINES, Judd, Griffin, Swallow, Yoleman, Heeney (vandenBerg, Cripps, Miller)
RUC: Goldstein, Minson (Read)
FWD: Walker, Swan, Gray, LYCETT, Hogan, Salem (Clark, Lamb)
$199,700 left in the bank

SO i need to trade out the two players in caps. Wines is injured and lycett has gone horribly for the first three rounds.
My thoughts for this week's trades:

Wines –> Cotchin
Lycett –> Franklin

Any thoughts towards these trades? I'm thinking cotchin is a fallen premium and, as the men said in the poscast, Franklin is looking like he is in red hot form and will score big very very soon!
Any thoughts would be really greatful 😀

    Derek · 21/04/2015 at 15:15

I can’t believe you started year with that defence, you have got guts!

    What about Lycett to Krakour.

      Mozz · 21/04/2015 at 15:56

Now that's an interesting thought. I'm thinking with the injury to Wines, Krakour will have a better job security, but will he be able to score well enough to have a spot in my fwdline?

        Marco_Polo94 · 21/04/2015 at 16:11

I'd say his 80 over the weekend is a good indication of what we can expect from him.

Krazee-Eyez Killa · 21/04/2015 at 15:20

hey guys, keen on some input.

currently ranked 221 overall, so looking to keep up the good scores, and am thinking about ditching Newnes for somebody like a Brodie Smith or perhaps Alex Rance for example. I’ve got 120k in the bank and have only used the 3 trades so far. I know it’s kind of early to do a bit of a sideways trade, but I can’t really see Newnes averaging over 90 and am consdering pulling the pin now before he goes down in value, and I think Smith and Rance could be top 6 defenders by years end.

    Tofor · 21/04/2015 at 16:01

Generally I'd say hold a guy like Newnes.. but Smith and Rance would be mighty tempting.
You know better than me though Krazee, being ranked 221. Well done!

    Philthy · 21/04/2015 at 21:57

Smith over Rance but i'm assuming you already have Hodge…

Rance has highest season average of 88 across 6 seasons, won't keep this up IMO

Sim · 21/04/2015 at 15:59

worth considering trading Nic Nat to Grundy ( already have Minson) ????? Nic Nat's break even this week is 105, Grundy's been 10 ??? Any thoughts????….Looking to start to get some coin saved up to fix my midfield over the bye rounds.

SJP · 21/04/2015 at 16:34

yea get outta here you druggo, i dont know youu

jmy7 · 21/04/2015 at 16:59

Rawkus11 · 21/04/2015 at 19:26

Hey Fellas, lookin to upgrade 'No Bloody' Goodes. I'll have 404k. Tossing up between Pittard, Savage and Hunt. What's ya thoughts community?

Willie stroker · 21/04/2015 at 20:43

Fellas, why does Dane swan and adam Oxley have a green note icon next to their name on the field?
Cheers as

Jack · 21/04/2015 at 20:50

Oliver Wines!

I’ve got stuff all in the kitty, $8,900 to be exact. Three options are at the front of my mind but if someone has a better one, please let me know!

Wines to Neale and use his low breakeven to upgrade in a week or two – or three to fallen premium.

Hold Wines for a week or two and then sideways him to a fallen premium ie; JPK, Stevie J, Luke Parker etc.

Current midfield is:
Sloane, Fyfe, Selwood, Pendlebury, Griffen, Rich, Ellis-Yolmen (Heeney, Miller, VandeBerg)

Cheers, community!

    PDAP · 22/04/2015 at 06:48

Wait, although you will have to wait longer than a week or two. You have adequate midfield cover. Neale must be tempting for you but see if he can pump out another 100+ this weekend.

Bobbaloski · 23/04/2015 at 09:19

Has anyone used their swing / dual possie players yet? I have Said in my midfield and can trade Newnes out if need be and slot Saad straight in. Same goes for Higgins and any forward trades. I’m considering the value of dual players a lot more this year. Thoughts community? Out.

Max · 23/04/2015 at 18:25

Hey guys have still got Deledio and 500k in the bank, should I trade to Swan or Roughead

    Bobbaloski · 23/04/2015 at 20:58

    Trade in Swan.
