LekdogG’day Community! Lekdog here with some mo’ supercoach news…

Today I wrap up round 2 and discuss the fall from grace of The Great Gary Ablett

As always I’d love to hear from you as to what you would like to see in these videos, if left to me the videos will progressively get angrier as Carlton performs poorly…

Lots of love, @LekBlog.

Thoughts on Ablett > Jack

    Derek · 14/04/2015 at 23:29

Jack has been under radar. Gun.

    Girdle · 15/04/2015 at 04:43

His best average was 112 back in 2012. If you already have Pendles, Fyfe, JPK, Sloane and Lewis then go with Jack. If not, then one of the above……

James · 14/04/2015 at 20:46

Good trades?

Menzel-Gunston (would go franklin, but too expensive), (dont trust bontempelli just yet……

    Brian · 14/04/2015 at 22:31

    so Gunston > Bont ???

personally not trading Bont in this week either, but Gunston over him… BOY OH BOY WOWEE

      James · 15/04/2015 at 06:43

Cheers, feel like Gunston more mature, if that makes sense

    General Soreness · 15/04/2015 at 13:04

Is Gunston a keeper? – No imho. Is he a cash cow? – no imho. = Menzel to Bont, cash cow = yes, keeper? unlikely but maybe. Might be able to straight swap him to Franklin shortly.

      James · 15/04/2015 at 22:12

      Yeah cheers for that lads

Spifflicator · 14/04/2015 at 20:48

Nice one Lek, love the shirt!

    LEKD0G · 14/04/2015 at 21:18

    Thanks maaate

eatemalive · 14/04/2015 at 20:50

Very moving Lek, I'm having a quiet Carlton Dry myself pondering trades. Glad I took Bob Murphy on your advice ,Gulp

    LEKD0G · 14/04/2015 at 21:18

116 was looking very nice, love the man

Jacob · 14/04/2015 at 20:51

NAT FYFE INJURED!! Not playing this week and possibly out for 3 or 4. Do we hold?

    KJU FC · 14/04/2015 at 20:52

    Brad · 14/04/2015 at 20:57

Yes because he hasn’t got a break even of over 200 with a Buggerd shoulder.

    eatemalive · 14/04/2015 at 21:11

nothing on their website or AFL,where did you here this ?

    Redd · 14/04/2015 at 21:24

Cmon jacob thats just not true

    Frank · 14/04/2015 at 21:49

    Poor form jacob.

      r2d2 · 14/04/2015 at 23:01

      Very poor

    TOPHAWK1 · 14/04/2015 at 21:57

    You bloooody shiiiitt!

    Jacob · 14/04/2015 at 23:02

*Gary Ablett. My bad guys. really sorry for confusion

3. votes · 14/04/2015 at 21:01

Good trades?
Cockatoo- Van berlo or
Cripps- Van Berlo

Goodes- Oxley? thoughts

    LEKD0G · 14/04/2015 at 21:19

Lock in Goodes to Oxley, If Cripps is named go Cockatoo – Van Berlo

      SLOJOE · 14/04/2015 at 22:18

I have both oxley and saad down already anyone else worth downgrading goodes from or upgrading goodes too?

        seaford scouse · 14/04/2015 at 23:27

        McIntosh as a dg

      Crowls · 15/04/2015 at 06:09

      the lekdog is right

      Dean · 15/04/2015 at 21:55

Regardless whether Cripps is named or not, your much better off trading Cockatoo to Van Berlo because Cockatoo will be losing around $11k while Cripps wont lose anything.

    Rory · 14/04/2015 at 21:22

that's what i'm doing goodes to oxley but you might be able to save a trade and keep cripps

Hotplates · 14/04/2015 at 21:05

Bit of help here guys:

Gaz to Lewis or Sloane? Thinking Lewis as best supercoach scorer in best side who will win most of their games.

Then either:

– Miller/Cripps to NVB (Means missing out on Bont)

– TBC to Bont (Means I lose that ruck swing, but feel my scoring will be better for it – though I miss NVB as a cash cow)

Already have all other decent cash cows.

    Jack · 14/04/2015 at 21:18

I have the exact same issue! I'm going Gaz to Sloane.

    Then either TBC to Bont
or getting Oxley in and saving some cash (currently have hauling and Goddard on the bench in defence)

    What do you reckon?!

    adam · 14/04/2015 at 21:19

i have the same problem, get bont in or van berlo. I was thinking if bonts keeps going this way against good teams he's a must have. but if he gets the tag his price may go down..? I'm very unsure

    LEKD0G · 14/04/2015 at 21:20

My only opinion is if Miller plays, keep him. Will make some cash. Everything else is obviously risky. Lewis for security but Sloane is so damn consistent

CJay · 14/04/2015 at 21:10

Thanks Lekdog always quality advice with the added bonus of a good laugh.

    LEKD0G · 14/04/2015 at 21:21

    Thanks 🙂

DamonG · 14/04/2015 at 21:11

Thoughts on Shane Savage? Solid average in the first 2 rounds plus showed glimpses towards the end of last year, why is he being so overlooked as a mid priced defender?

My thoughts at the moment:
OUT: Ablett
IN: JPK / Lewis (Already have Sloane, Fyfe)

OUT: B Goodes
IN: Savage / ???

    LEKD0G · 14/04/2015 at 21:23

Look solid, the reason he's being ignored is because you tend not to bring midpricers in, if you didn't start them it's hard to justify picking them up

Riley · 14/04/2015 at 21:12

What are everyone’s thoughts on Dayne Beams? Stick fat or move on to Sloane/JPK type?

    Rory · 14/04/2015 at 21:24

    gotta stick with your prems

    LEKD0G · 14/04/2015 at 21:24

Discussing that one myself, would keep him but I don't have Fyfe so my decision is basically made.

    eatemalive · 14/04/2015 at 21:26

He's a bit stiff with no Rocky or Handley in the side, I don't have him but trading out Prems to me is not an option unless a long injury – Its a long season mate, he will come good.

    travis.batta · 14/04/2015 at 21:28

you picked him as a premium keeper so l feel you have to stick fat and save that trade for when it really is needed

    Donavan · 14/04/2015 at 21:37

keep him. You dont trade premo's unless they are injured or reported, and out for multiple weeks.

    Mac · 15/04/2015 at 07:16

Dusty went shocking one week then went massive the next. Hold him

Dee · 14/04/2015 at 21:18

Leak dog what's your SC Rankings mate? Just curious….

    LEKD0G · 15/04/2015 at 14:31

Sitting about 20,000 after a terrible round 1. Have never finished outside the top 1% though

Jack · 14/04/2015 at 21:27

Thoughts on Bont Lekdog?!

    LEKD0G · 15/04/2015 at 14:32

I think not having him is a POD now, 2nd year player will surely decrease output

Redd · 14/04/2015 at 21:31

Traded GAJ to JPK now the problems i made a mistake in starting fasolo down back so am strongly considering Alex Rance but i also have cripps and enough xash to turn salem into bont decisions decions Am currently ranked 1178 top 1% but need to make sure of these trades to keeo my spot

    Boggers · 15/04/2015 at 14:56

Cripps still has a week to play before his price changes so you can hold there .. with the added bonus that Salem should rise enough to cover most of The Bont's increase. However, Salem could also make some solid cash over the coming weeks and Bont only needs 1 bad game to keep him affordable. Offloading skinny bobby calves to the market is fraught with danger, try to let them become prime, fat yearlings to get best value. Same down back, make sure you have the good Defense rookies before hunting premos this early in the season. Good luck staying in the hunt ..

      Redd · 15/04/2015 at 20:38

Cheers boggers appreciate the feedback i like where your comon from

Benno · 14/04/2015 at 21:36

Here's my move
Gaz > Sloane
Crispe > Wallis
Cost me about 10k, boost point generation plus provide Wallis as stepping stone.
Any thoughts

Donavan · 14/04/2015 at 21:36

Love the arm-band Lek

Anyone know what happened to Wells, and if his likely to miss this week. I know he was subbed due to injury…but no more thyan that.

    Billy · 15/04/2015 at 06:54

Just a precaution. Scans revealed no damage to his Achilles. He'll play.

eatemalive · 14/04/2015 at 21:41

Yes, the armband ? whilst Carlton are dying ,their not dead yet !

Redd · 14/04/2015 at 21:43

Lekdog whats your oppinion on A.Rance and Brodie Smith. Do you think Alex can continue his good form and do you think that sickening head knock brodie received will affect his performance i hear hes exoected to line up this week?

    Donavan · 14/04/2015 at 21:45

Wouldnt be surprised if Smith is a late out. Similar to Bartel last weekend.

It was a shocking clash, i would be very surprised if he played.

      Redd · 14/04/2015 at 21:59

Yeh thats what im thinking Just not sure wich trade to make Fasolo to rance Cripps to NVB or salem to the bont. Rance up 40k should be top 5 def NVB up 70k great cash cow but not a keeper and the bont up 50k but im still sceptical about the bont and the doggies

        Donavan · 14/04/2015 at 23:03

In your position , I think I would do the Fasolo to Rance trade.

You can not have every cash cow, and the name of the game is to get to full premo as fast as possible with as many as possible tradxes remaining (for injury coverage).

Also not sure I would write-off Cripps yet, maybe getting dropped was the kick in the pants he needs.

          LEKD0G · 15/04/2015 at 14:33

I really rate Rance and Smith is obviously good but will likely miss, if he does maybe hold off and get Smith in the next week

        Tylo · 15/04/2015 at 16:10

I'm also considering Rance, Astbury's return will be the key to him scoring well consistently. Imo you should definitely keep Salem. You know you could do Cripps to Bont as he's F/M, but I share your skepticism there.

          Redd · 15/04/2015 at 20:39

Donovan Lekdog Tylo appreciate the feedback lads cheers

the sprinkler · 14/04/2015 at 21:47

hey LEKS- Im going GAJ – Sloaney, and Cripps – Bonts and leaves me 30Kish. What you think?? scored 2286 this week and hoping bonts will be more consistent than a fingers crossed heeney. Then can slot bonts into fwd when i snag pendles later on.

    LEKD0G · 15/04/2015 at 14:33

    Looks solid to me mate

Craig · 14/04/2015 at 21:47

I have all the money makers except nvb. I’m in the top 500 and don’t know if I should go for money or points. I have fyfe. Sloan. Rich. Neale. Danger. Steven. Ward. But no Kennedy. I’m trading kolojasnij in back I’m trading for Oxley. Should I trade cripps for nvb $250000 adelaide have easy draw. Or trade Steven for Kennedy $97000.

    The Ranger · 14/04/2015 at 22:25

I'd go the Kennedy option. Cripps to NVB is a sideways trade and you want to avoid them if you can.

      Vlastuin Paradise · 15/04/2015 at 11:56

This week is the week for correction aka sideways trades ONLY IF THEY ARE ROOKIES. Cripps > VB is a solid trade for cash generation.

        Craig · 15/04/2015 at 15:59

Thanks.sounds like good advice to me

      Dean · 15/04/2015 at 22:29

Cripps to NVB is not a sideways trade in this situation because NVB will increase dramatically in price.

Either way its a tough call mainly because Adelaide play Melbourne this week in Adelaide so its highly likely NVB will score close to JPK score.

However saying that, if your ranked 500 overall, your allot better getting in top premiums like JPK in your side ASAP as they are the ones that will keep you raked right up there but JPK wont go up much at all in price so you will need to bring him in the following week.

I'm sorry if im confusing you. If it were me in your situation, I would bring in NVB only because he is playing awesome and has a massive -59 break even so he should have no problem hitting $400k & next week bring in JPK as he is only projected to go up $10k

You have to trade out KK for Oxley so great move there.

Good luck in which ever way you decide to go mate.

throttlefinger · 14/04/2015 at 21:58

Brilliant advice to the Gazzalites and the trade happy.

Would hold on your Goodes and KK. Give them another week, as you it will take a bit of cash to get to a premo and, more inportatly, we STILL don't know the lay of the land when it comes to the top defenders. Wait until you see clear cut backline badasses then pounce. R3-4 is too soon.

    The Ranger · 14/04/2015 at 22:31

Assuming that you are trading this week TF….who are jumping on or off?

      throttlefinger · 14/04/2015 at 23:01

Hey Ranger. Yep, going Cripps to Vandy. Pocket the green. May go sideways Beams to Sloane. Not sure but leaning that way. Seems Lions-version of Beams not the same as Pies version.

        The Ranger · 14/04/2015 at 23:26

Vandy looks the goods eh? I want to get him in just gotta decide on the how to.
Beams to Sloane would be bloody tempting if I had that choice. Can't help but think that Beams will come good at some point tho…

          throttlefinger · 14/04/2015 at 23:30

He may. Just doesn't look encouraging. Lions not a top team so the SC points won't be as plentiful. Think Rocky coming back will help but not sure how much. Think it's more Sloane's form, much like Fyfe's, is going to another level. Rather put my money behind that rather than hope that Beams turns it around.

            The Ranger · 14/04/2015 at 23:36

            Nail, meet head.
I think you just talked yourself into that trade buddy!

              throttlefinger · 14/04/2015 at 23:39

Hahaha! Well, I spent a good amount of time yesterday going over the stats trying to talk myself out of it. Couldn't be done. Didn't have any correctives R2 so think this may be trade/money well spent.

        Derek · 14/04/2015 at 23:42

Beams looking like a fallen premium to be picked in a few weeks

          throttlefinger · 14/04/2015 at 23:46

Very true, D. May regret move. But if you don't have him, he will be cheap in the next couple rounds.

Cyril is Delicious · 14/04/2015 at 22:01

The little master is not gone, just having a rest, he will be back!

But I will be trading him down to Sloane, and should I upgarde Cripps to Rich to make some quick cash, or Miller or Cripps to a NVB??

    Donavan · 14/04/2015 at 22:58

    Well done last week.

    From Happy Hawk

      Cyril is Delicious · 15/04/2015 at 00:46

      Haha thank you!

        brucies pasted jocks · 15/04/2015 at 16:46

ooohhhh…..rioli…..there goes another set of stitches in my trouser front…..i love a big bowl of cyriol every morning……oooooggghhhh….spare-shill!

    brucies pasted jocks · 15/04/2015 at 18:26

ohhh Cyril- its Ok for swearing on the Podcasts, implying underage drinking for wayno and saying GAJ has his head shoved up his own pip (which was hilarious) but for some reason my comment saying I blew out the seams in my trouser front got deleted…. censorship is alive and well!!!!

The egg · 14/04/2015 at 22:04

I was under the impression that we are not allowed to have more than one team. But lek has the gingers. It will be a pleasent ‘gift’ if someone can tell me otherwise.

    LEKD0G · 15/04/2015 at 14:35

Just made another account mate, but the Gingers are struggling haha

The egg · 14/04/2015 at 22:06

And everyone…..stop trading in sloane, his mine, stop ruining his unique status 🙂 ty

The egg · 14/04/2015 at 22:08

….so you may aswell not trade him in seeing as he will be owned by everyone next week. Its really not a good decision;)

PD · 14/04/2015 at 22:13

Community, I need help with the all important decision of replacing GAJ. Need to decide on one of the following:

Sloane, Lewis, JPK (I’m leaning on that order as I already have Pendles, Fyfe, Selwood & Beams)

Also open to suggestions on trading Lambert up fwd. Already have Clark, Hogan, Salem.

    Hubris · 14/04/2015 at 23:51

Lonie is a FWD option that is set to make you $42k this week.

JPK is the safe bet, but Lewis I personally like and happily own. Not a bad way to save a few bucks.

Swan song · 14/04/2015 at 22:14

Lekdog need your help which def should I get with 453,000 in the bank and have lumumba and higgins

    LEKD0G · 15/04/2015 at 14:36

Short term McDonald will make cash, long term might be best off waiting until we know more about defenders

    Pauly · 17/04/2015 at 13:21

Sam Fisher is looking like he might be a good option. The ball will definitely find it's way down to the Saints backline pretty regularly too.

The Ranger · 14/04/2015 at 22:16

Nice work Lek. Thanks. Maybe don't bother with the impressions tho eh?! Just saying…
I'm fortunate enough to not have the GAJ problem so this week is all about rookie fix ups for me.
Hamling to Oxley is a no brainer but I can't decide wether to trade Miller/Cripps to Vandenberg or Lonie/Lamb to Hogan?
Or do I just hold on to what I've got?
I'd love to get your and indeed anyone else's opinion.

    Donavan · 14/04/2015 at 23:05

I would do Miller to Vandenberg.

Definately wouldnt be moving Lonie yet.

      The Ranger · 14/04/2015 at 23:16

Yeah I'm leaning that way Donavan but Hogan has better job security than Vandenberg I think.
And with GAJ out Miller will hold his place I hope.
      Decisions, decisions…

        Donavan · 14/04/2015 at 23:24

I cant see them dropping Vandenberg anytime soon. He is a big bodied mid, with some speed.

I think his JS is fine, as is Hogan's.

Melbourne are going to play some good sides soon, and Hogan may not get as many opportunities in coming weeks.

    Hubris · 14/04/2015 at 23:48

Lamb to Hogan. Get guys who are playing, guaranteed. Hogan and Dawes are the Dees’ focal points. Even if my Dees are losing, he’s the great white hope, we’ll play him.

vandenBerg has already been subbed. He does not have job security. He’s behind Jones, Vince, Tyson, Newton, Cross and Viney, plus Brayshaw looks set to feature too.

I’m thinking Cripps to van Berlo if you don’t already have him and can afford it. Cha-ching.

      PD · 15/04/2015 at 06:43

I’m a Dees fan & Vandenberg hasn’t been subbed so that’s incorrect. R1 Brayshaw was subbed out for Toumpas. R2 Vince was subbed out for Brayshaw

I think Vandenberg has good JS

        The Ranger · 15/04/2015 at 09:28

The variety of opinions here just sums up nicely why I'm unsure which way to go I guess.
I'm leaning towards Vandy because Hogan is a young KPP and historically at least they are less consistent.
Now at least the decsion is just Cripps/Miller to Vandy or hold on to both and bank the trade?

AM · 14/04/2015 at 22:20

Bennell to bont and t miller to NVB???

    Haz · 14/04/2015 at 22:34

Why would you trade Bennell ??????
One of the stupidest things I've ever read

    Girdle · 15/04/2015 at 05:31

Getting Bont is tempting but don’t trade Bennell for him. With Ablett out, Bennell has the potential to go very large. You’ve been warned 😉

      AM · 15/04/2015 at 07:55

Yeah.will need tio pass on Bont…fwd and mid well set up..if I did anything it would be sideways…

Bontemgasmic · 14/04/2015 at 22:27

Hey Lekdog

I'm considering Miller > Hogan via Swan and Cripps to Wallis

Def – Shaw, Murphy, Newnes, Lumumba, Ibbo, McIntosh (Saad, Oxley)
Mids – Fyfe, Selwood, Sloane, Lewis, Griffen, CEY, Vanders, Heeney (Anderson, Cripps, Miller)
Fwds – Dusty, Swan, Bont, Belly, Salem, Clark (Lonie, Lamb)
Ruck – Maric, Nic Nat (Read)
cash $144k

I have used one trade last week : Rocky > Lewis

    Donavan · 14/04/2015 at 23:30

Miller will go up in price, but a slow burn.

Wait and see if Lamb gets a game, maybe Lamb to Hogan would be better, and leave Swan forward.

Also, I went to the Haw/Ess game last week, and have doubts over Anderson (when the pressure came on, he was found wanting), I suspect he and O'Rouke will both get dropped. I could see the Hawks making a few changes this week.

So again wait for the teams to be declared, but I would think Anderson to Wallis, Rich or NVB.

      Derek · 14/04/2015 at 23:40

I was surprised Anderson got a game ahead of Hartung.

        Bontemgasmic · 15/04/2015 at 00:07

I'm not – Anderson was getting some games 2 years ago until he got injured. Think the Hawks rate him.

        Tofor · 15/04/2015 at 08:56

As a Hawks fan, I'm not buying into the Anderson hype, haven't been blown away or overly impressed by him at this stage.

      Bontemgasmic · 14/04/2015 at 23:49

      Thanks for feedback Donavan

will certainly be waiting for teams before I make any trades.

interesting thoughts on Anderson – my thinking was he was a part of Clarko's plans for his ever evolving team. He has a bit of class.

jmy7 · 14/04/2015 at 22:38

Great clip lekdog,Is it safe and certain money gain to go kk/thumper to tom McDonald or should hold onto kolo??

CorzD · 14/04/2015 at 22:45

Great vid Lek.
Are you sure you’re not the Crouching One? I’ve never seen a photograph of him and that was a pretty damn good impression.

    Donavan · 14/04/2015 at 23:08

And the desk was covering the feet, so who knows if the slipper was there.

The only give away is the Juddy poster, Crouchings a Tiger.

      LEKD0G · 15/04/2015 at 14:37

Haha solid boys, I'm no crouching, only in spirit

Harrison · 14/04/2015 at 23:01

im not liking every now and then i see a comment saying get in wallis, i had him in all preseason i want him to go under the radar but it seems like quite a few people are jumping on for the cash generation. Hes a gun and i knew he would make me cash, solid selection but now quite a few look to be bringing him in. please fly under the radar mate, still need sloane and JPK in the mids hes the man who will hopefully get me there. Only trades this week are Gaz to Fyfe. holding goodes, miller, lambert (fwd swing loophole), KK, cripps,I have picked good rookies only missing out on NVB and Newton who are doing good for cash. IN def Oxley, saad, and mckintosh IN mid vdnberg, heeney, cripps, miller, ellis-yoeman, and lambert. IN ruc juck cox and IN fwd hogan salem clark and lonie happy days. 29 trades left and looking foward to seeing how the like of goodes and cripps etc. go this week and see if they need to go and arent going to appreciate in price. Btw im only 14 have been doing supercoach since i was 10 or 11 and last year finished top 10,000 hoping for top 5,000 or less this year. Started great with 3,855 my current rank.

C'mon the tigers!

    Gold Rush · 14/04/2015 at 23:08

Great work Harrison, except for that tigers business.

      Harrison · 15/04/2015 at 09:30

CMON TIGERS!!!!!!!!!! Who do you go for Gold Rush??

        Gold Rush · 15/04/2015 at 10:14

PIES , hot, warm or cold prefer them hot though they are warm at the moment.

    Frank · 14/04/2015 at 23:26

Go to bed Harrison. Should be in bed by 8:30 champ.

      Frank · 14/04/2015 at 23:29

Maybe 9 if you do the dishes for Mum.

        Harrison · 15/04/2015 at 09:29

Yep i do the dishes Frank, only been up so late because chatting up the ladies and clicking the traded and reverse trade button every 5 seconds. I have been on this site for ages but rarely post. Im considering posting weekly for more super coach advice!

    seaford scouse · 14/04/2015 at 23:37

    lamberts cooked mate

      Harrison · 15/04/2015 at 09:28

what do you mean? Im assuming your saying hes been injured or whatever, i thought i heard something like that. Well i have 85k for rookie corrections, the only corrections needed are miller, lambert and the likes of Goodes and Cripps. I dont have enough cash to get in NVB miss out by about 10k, the only way on getting him in is Cripps but not worth the sideways trade. Miller wont appreciate much and lambert has only played one. Is it worth getting NVB in for Cripps, it seems like silly business. I traded in Fyfe this week put the C on him because he a gun. My dad went Fyfe and I went Ablett now wish i went with Fyfe, you just had to take the risk on Gaz because he is an absolute gun.

        brucies pasted jocks · 15/04/2015 at 18:21

lamberts out for 6-8 weeks with a shoulder buddy.

        Dean · 15/04/2015 at 22:46

        Firstly awesome work Harrison,

I think you should defiantly trade Cripps to NVB only because his break even is HUGE at -59 and he is projected to increase $70,000 just in one week, not to mention the crows play Melbourne in Adelaide this week so I expect NVB to score another 80+ so there is no reason why he doesn't end up being a $400k player by round 10 or so.

While Cripps will struggle to hit $300k

Good luck in who ever you chose mate and keep up the great work.

SLOJOE · 14/04/2015 at 23:03

i have lambert and kraq on my fwd bench, goodes in the back line and cripps n miller in the middle! i was thinking of jumping onto vanderberg and van berlo now and riding the FAT cash cows while i can as im still in the top 1% for scoring anyways scored 2333 this week, would swap lambo nek week and upgrade goodes as i have $500,000 now and i already have oxly saad and macca bck) wise or unwise?

    Girdle · 15/04/2015 at 05:26

You’re in top 1% and asking for advice? Ok, here goes……

    1. Don’t panic on Cripps. In all likelihood, he’ll go up in price, just a week later.

    2. Lambert out up to 8 weeks. Take him out for a fwd with low or negative BE (Hogan, McGrath, Lonie)

    3. Miller doesn’t look a great cash cow and might lose his spot over the next few weeks. Even with Ablett and Jager out. Personally I’d take Vandenberg before Van Berlo as I’d guess they’ll both plateau around $400-450k. Van Berlo might get there a week or two quicker but other rookies of yours should be right to upgrade by then anyway. And you save spending an extra $88k for NVB in the process.

    4. Upgrade Goodes next week directly to the best defender you haven’t already got in your team. Don’t muck around with that one……premo defender!

    5. Good luck holding your spot up there in the rankings!

Tofor · 14/04/2015 at 23:20

Lamb -> Hogan
Goodes -> Smedts

Both the latter two are on the bubble, have better Job Security and likely to increase faster than the first two.

Is this a worthwhile trade, or waste of trades. Love to hear your thoughts?
An alternative for Smedts? Max Price 239k.

Any thoughts on Jackson Ramsay and Jed Bews as well?

    Derek · 14/04/2015 at 23:34

I think Billy got suspended for a week

    Girdle · 15/04/2015 at 04:57

Smedts is completely SC-irrelevant. Even if he wasn’t suspended for a week, I would urge you to reconsider. Same goes for your alternatives. If you haven’t got Saad, McIntosh and Oxley then one of those. If you have them, then N.Brown. Won’t set the world on fire but will at least free up $100k for upgrades elsewhere.

    Tofor · 15/04/2015 at 09:00

Hey thanks for the feedback guys.
I'd love to get rid of Goodes for a better defensive rookie, but there just isn't one I don't have that has played worth less than Goodes!
I feel compelled to get Hogan in as a cash cow. Already have Clark, Salem, Lonie. Lamb will rise in price sure, but it looks like it will take a lot longer than Hogan.
I'd love to get the Bont in as well, but I'm still not convinced or sure he will be a keeper, top 8 forward or his scores will be sustainable. I've got Martin and Swan up forward who look similar. Bont better value for money than Martin?

V-Bomb · 14/04/2015 at 23:24

Nice work, Lek!

Would really appreciate the feedback on these two “post-God” options, both tactically very different:

Option 1: GAJ & Goodes for TheBont & Brodie Smith
Option 2: GAJ & Lambert for Sloane & J.McGrath

    Derek · 14/04/2015 at 23:36

    Slone for sure.

    Donavan · 14/04/2015 at 23:40

Option 2, Sloan is solid premo.

Think Smith will miss this week, maybe possible to get him next week, the Bont (and the Bulldogs) will start finding the going tough commencing this week.

    Girdle · 15/04/2015 at 04:52

McGrath’s JS looks ok for now with Brisbane’s growing injury list. Gotta go Option 2.

    V-Bomb · 15/04/2015 at 06:16

Thanks lads, didn’t know much about McGrath to be honest!

Derek · 14/04/2015 at 23:37

Anyone know much about Sinclair from the saints? What is his JS?

    Stickman · 15/04/2015 at 00:39

Not sure was the third rookie from St Kilda to get promoted, so dont think his JS is very high. Although with Schneider as late withdrawal on Saturday and Saad being subbed off he could push his way up the pecking order when players come off the long term injury list.

Jimi · 15/04/2015 at 00:11

Pick one:

1. Goodes to Oxley (Oxley will stay on the bench).
2. Miller to NVB (NVB will play).

    Stickman · 15/04/2015 at 00:34

I would go NVB I think he will be the biggest bargain of the year.

    Blueprime · 15/04/2015 at 02:02

      Jimi · 15/04/2015 at 02:25

      Cheers fellas.

Girdle · 15/04/2015 at 04:49

Love the newscast, Lekdog! Slightly disagree with Goodes though. He’s dead weight. At that price you need him going up in value (and in a hurry) or downgrading to free up the cash (possibly even to a non-playing dpp). Since his BE is 65, gotta get rid of him and use that corrective trade. Spot on otherwise!

    BKW · 15/04/2015 at 08:45

    Yep completely agree

    Phil · 15/04/2015 at 10:14

There's no right or wrong with Goodes it pretty much comes down to your structure. For me it's a hold, because I have all the rookies that have played already (so nobody to downgrade to) and I don't have any cash to upgrade (and even if I did, I'm happy fielding 3 rookies). I'd say Lekdogs probably in a similar position to me. But if we didn't have Oxley, Saad or McIntosh, then absolutely we'd trade

He could become a little nice pod now too. I'm tipping, against the Hawks he won't be sub, more likely they will want a big body in the midfield.

Nathan · 15/04/2015 at 07:30

great work leak

I’m offloading Cripps this week for hogan
Foolishly didn’t go with him to start with
And I’m also looking at trading swallow for Lewis
I would like the Bont but I think once they play good sides he will lose his scoring power

Luviboy1 · 15/04/2015 at 07:32

I'm going Scott Selwood out for NVB. It would leave me with 234,000 in the kitty. Too much to be laying there doing nothing?

    @AusSports84 · 15/04/2015 at 11:15

Plenty of time to spend it my man.
I'll end up being with the same boat if I only trade Gaz to Shiel. Happy to Wait, no need to rush I guess.

tom · 15/04/2015 at 07:42

Ablett to JPK
Goodes to Oxley

are my current trades but I also have Cripps and Miller in my team.

Should I stick with these trades?

    dellagz · 15/04/2015 at 09:01

i like it. I have been back and forth with Cripps too, but for now ill leave him and hope to see his name on the team sheet Thursday night.

      Matthew · 15/04/2015 at 17:03

ive got the exact same problem. I'm going Ablett to Sloane, and I've been tossing between Cripps to Rich and Goodes to Oxley. Since Rich would be on my field I've decided to go with him instead, and if its not too late I'll jump on Oxley next round, as then goodes and oxley would be about the same price

John · 15/04/2015 at 08:20

I don’t have GAJ problem but kept enough money in the bank should the little master prove me wrong.

This means I can go cripps to Bontomsmelly or to rich but you have said to hold him lekdog. In this position would you still hold the trade?

Thanks for the video.

ToneStar · 15/04/2015 at 08:30

Ablett to Gray.
Lambert out of the fwd.
Move Gray to fwd.
Get NVB in mids.
Only rookie I'm missing.

I'm more worried about getting all right rookies in to make $$$$

    jacob · 15/04/2015 at 13:39

Great video but how's the swoop on the hair! That's what living in Melbourne does to you!

Haydo · 15/04/2015 at 08:49

Hey Lek dog. I’ve got some cash up the sleeve. Wondering what you think of this double trade? bang! Bang!

Goodes to Oxley

Cripps to bontempolli

I’ve alreay got saad, mcintosh, vandenberg, Heeney, Ellis yolmen, Clark, Salem, Lonce and sexy texy. I can see myself making a bucket load of cash, so this makes me fond of taking a bont risk. If he plays well, sweet. If his scores go down a mile, I should have the cash gen to trade him up to a Sloane or JPK in the matter of a few weeks. I think he is worth the trade? I mean, it’s almost a POD trading him in due to everyone’s assumptions.

Thoughts LEK?

    derek · 15/04/2015 at 13:07

you can go Cripps >>> Oxley (swing Saad to midfield)

    LEKD0G · 15/04/2015 at 14:39

Look there's no danger in getting the Bont in but I won't be, I'd try and get him in the fwd line quick smart though

I N Pieman · 15/04/2015 at 08:52

Nice vid Lek. You’ve got Judd all over yor room. Don’t curse him for me

    LEKD0G · 15/04/2015 at 14:39

I'll try and get him in my room for a video

      brucies pasted jocks · 15/04/2015 at 19:07

As long as its for an interview LEKDOG.

You know Brucie thinks the same when it comes to Rioli- and the interview doesnt even cross his mind 😉

dellagz · 15/04/2015 at 08:56

guys i know its 6 of 1, half a dozen of the other… but should i bring in Sloane or Jordan Lewis for GAJ?!

    Jimi · 15/04/2015 at 13:26

Sloan for me, rd 11 bye if your stacked with rd 12 players.

David · 15/04/2015 at 09:20

Which defensive rookies do we play this week?

I am thinking Oxley (playing saints) and Saad, benching Goodes and McIntosh.

dellagz · 15/04/2015 at 09:22

I would swap Saad for McIntosh

    David · 15/04/2015 at 09:27

saad has consistant 90's, probably the main lock of the four?

      dellagz · 15/04/2015 at 09:33

Down at the Cattery compared to McIntosh against an undermanned Brisbane team who have lost the last 9 games against the Tigers.
      Just my way of thinking.

Question for you Dave, would you bring in Lewis or Sloane for GAJ?

        David · 15/04/2015 at 16:02

I have Lewis. I never had Gaz fortunatley. Lewis is going to be in a winning team all year and is the best mid fielder but for some reason is never tagged.

Everyone is going to jump on Sloane, id go Lewis for POD.

Brett · 15/04/2015 at 09:24

Lobbe out, Grundy in! Thoughts?

    I N Pieman · 15/04/2015 at 10:25

Try to minimise trades in the ruck. Couldn’t see Grundy avergaing much more than 70

    General Soreness · 15/04/2015 at 13:21

      Brett · 15/04/2015 at 16:52

Lobbe is uncertain and I don’t have a scoring sub…. Need to make a move

Ben · 15/04/2015 at 10:05

For this round, should I:

1) Miller -> NVB; or

2) Lambert – > McGrath?

1st trade committed to GAJ -> PREMO

    Jimi · 15/04/2015 at 13:27

Sana · 15/04/2015 at 10:14

Thoughts on Cripps to Rich? Is that too much of a jump to a mid pricer?

    I N Pieman · 15/04/2015 at 10:26

Prefer Cripps to NVB if you don’t have him. Crows have a very nice draw coming up

      Cyril is Delicious · 15/04/2015 at 10:43

I like NVB but won’t Thompson being coming back, will mean less points for NVB??

        I N Pieman · 15/04/2015 at 12:43

Will appreciate in price faster than Cripps regardless. And good JS

SC Virgin · 15/04/2015 at 10:28

Reasonably happy with team. Thing of doing either:

TBC – Bont, Cripps – NVB

Goodes – Hamling/Goddard as have all back line rooks, Clark – Bont (leaving TBC as ruck cover in fwd line and keeping cripps)

Thoughts? Want Bont as see him as f6, m8 keeper.

    @AusSports84 · 15/04/2015 at 10:42

I started with Bont, if I hadn't he would be the first trade I made this week. The best thing about him is his tackling power. Defence first is always a great indicator of SC scoring.

    SC Virgin · 15/04/2015 at 21:40

Anyone else have a theory on this one? Really need some help.

@AusSports84 · 15/04/2015 at 10:40

G'day Lek loved your work mate.

I'm taking a punt on Shiel this week, Gaz to Shiel actually. I see a 21 year old Chris Judd all over again and at $500K will not miss out.
Option B is either Goodes to Rance or Cripps to NVB.
Appreciate any feedback.

    Redd · 15/04/2015 at 11:16

Ya gotta risk it for the biscuit im debating over pretty much the same trades ive got fasolo instead of goodes but i think the goodes to rance trade is better as hes up 40k this week so youll only miss out on 30k by not getting NVB and youll have to trade NVB to a premo later anyway so youll most likley save yourself a trade aswell,

    General Soreness · 15/04/2015 at 13:20

GAJ to Shiel is ok. Option B's are questionable. Not sure they will produce what is required. Have you considered Cripps to Bont and swing fwd with DPP? i.e. if you have Lambert forward.

Glenn O'Grady · 15/04/2015 at 11:00

What are your thoughts on Gaz, is it unrealistic to hold him for a week and take advantage of price rise rookies and grab a premo that has dropped price next week?

    Redd · 15/04/2015 at 11:12

    Unfortunately he must go mate

    I N Pieman · 15/04/2015 at 11:15

You might find Pendles doesn’t get up this week. Can’t have them both on the pine. Must go

    youngster · 15/04/2015 at 12:24

Trade him, you need to get points on the board.

    General Soreness · 15/04/2015 at 13:17

    How disastrous are your rookies?

    Matthew · 15/04/2015 at 15:28

It would be beneficial to look at your structure before making this decision. Will having Gary on the bench severely limit your output by forcing you to play a rookie like Touk Miller, who will only score 30-40? If so, I'd look at giving him the metaphorical boot, and look at either an ultra premium like Fyfe or Pendles, or slightly lower to a Sloane or JPK. However, if you have a strong midfield with 5 premiums and 3 good scoring rookies like Ellis-Yolmen, Vandenberg, Heeney, or even Rich, you could look at the option of leaving Ablett on the bench for a round.

Relies heavily on your structure though.

@supercoach_101 · 15/04/2015 at 11:34

S trading shiel or rich a bad idea i like the look of them and price rise will be handy

    General Soreness · 15/04/2015 at 13:16

Mate, all depends on structures, purpose, other issues. Price rise is handy along with scoring output, but what value do you put on trades? every action should be to improve your cash stores or scoring output. Do you have GAJ or another must trade out?

    Matthew · 15/04/2015 at 15:25

dont go chasing previous scores. both are good but unless you're convinced they will continue pumping out 100+ then id look at more consistent options

    brucies pasted jocks · 15/04/2015 at 18:57

why do you say their price rises will be handy?

you trade people in to keep don't you?

or do you mean you will trade them in then trade them out and use 4 trades in total?

    brucees pasted jocks · 15/04/2015 at 19:02

FearTheBeard · 15/04/2015 at 11:56

Guys need a bit of advise.

Rance, Smith, McDonald, Docherty, Hooker, Savage?

Who the hell do I take in can afford any defender and have Shaw,Kelly,Newnes and the rookies.

    derek · 15/04/2015 at 12:52

have another look at Grant Birchell. it was his first game for the year, had 25 disposals (19 by foot). Hawks were looking at giving it to him to clear out of defence. $477k and only in 2% of teams. could be a big POD.

    General Soreness · 15/04/2015 at 13:15

Why so desperate to get one in? The ones you have are fine.

      FearTheBeard · 15/04/2015 at 13:31

I don't need Goodes as he is sitting on the bench and want to strengthen there as I feel it's my weakest part.

I'm leaning towards Smith but if not cleared Rance or Hooker?

      eatemalive · 15/04/2015 at 13:35

Agree with GS, I see the Mids as the line that needs correction unless you have the best Rooks,no Ablett ect

        FearTheBeard · 15/04/2015 at 14:09

Mids Sloane, Fyfe, Lewis, Rich, Watson, Vandaberg, CEY, Heeney, Miller, Cripps (willhold for is week and ass next week if no good), Lambert

        Rucks – Mummy, Minson

Forwards – Gray, Swan, Franklin, Martin, Hogan, Clark, Salem, Lamb

As I said very happy outside defenders though with either Brodie Smith or Hooker or Rance I then can put out

Shaw, Kelly, Newnes, Oxley, Saad with McIntosh & Brown as cover which makes me much more happy then Goodes on the bench and another rookie playing.

The question I am asking is who is the community convinced for Defenders?

I really am tossing up. I was locking Smith in and still is unless he isn't listed. Though Hooker, Rance are confusing me.

Then Savage and McDonald cheaper though maybe not perms? Uneasy on Doherty?

I'd love some input on who they would take?

          Tylo · 15/04/2015 at 16:21

I would narrow it down to Rance, Birchall, or Smith.

Hoops · 15/04/2015 at 12:22

What's your opinion??

Goodes to Oxley & GAJ to Sloane,JPK or Lewis
Newnes to Rance & GAJ to Sloane, JPK or Lewis
Bartel to Bont & GAJ to Sloane, JPK or Lewis

    General Soreness · 15/04/2015 at 13:14

Option 1 in my opinion provides cash and better scoring.

The reason I see it as better than the other options – Newnes to Rance too sideways without increasing cash or scoring output much.

Bartel is a keeper forward. Bont will provide cash but not a keeper. = 2 trades for cash of say $150K max. you will get $150K going down to Oxley with 1 trade.

      Hoops · 15/04/2015 at 13:17

      Thanks General

Rick Grimes · 15/04/2015 at 12:26

NVB, CEY, Heeney, Vandenberg, Sheed, Cripps (if named)

    eatemalive · 15/04/2015 at 12:33

On exposed form you would go in the order that you have written it

    Adsmeister · 15/04/2015 at 16:22

Rick Grimes · 15/04/2015 at 12:30

What risk is Shiel to cop the tag with all the midfield guns around him?

    @AusSports84 · 15/04/2015 at 15:34

IMO none. Griffen Ward and Trelor all ahead of him.
Hence I'm flirting with Gaz to him. I just don't have the guts!

derek · 15/04/2015 at 12:34

a lot of focus on players who are going to increase in value and people are jumping on. Before you go chacing a bit of a cash increase and last weeks scores; make sure you have the right rookies first. You will make a lot more from a rookie (percentage) than you will from a premium or mid-pricer.

secondly, only trade in someone who you actually want. Plenty of people are trading in mid-pricers because that is all they can afford at the moment. Hold your money and wait for the time you can get the player you really want.

Thirdly, we are so focused on players who are rising in price, we should be looking at players who are going to be falling in price, has the same net affect.

There are plenty of (about to) falling premiums to watch who will be dropping in price over the next few weeks. If you can hold onto your cash now and not let it burn a hole in your pocket, you can look at getting some falling premiums in a few weeks time:

Boomer Harvey
T Boak
Big Boy McEvoy
Dal Santo
J Selwood
M Murphy
D Beams
B Goddard
L Parker
M Priddis
J Macrae

Brook · 15/04/2015 at 13:31

Thinking of trading my R2 Minson down to the bont and swinging TBC into R2 for a few weeks. Will have $80k in the bank as insurance to go to Lycett if TBC is a no show on coming weeks. Will upgrade fwd rookie to fallen ruck ASAP to restore swing set. Feels a bit risky but only way I can really get my hands on the bont. Thoughts? Haven’t seen many others suggesting this approach

    Locked and Loaded · 15/04/2015 at 15:06

Wait one more week on Bont just really need to see how he goes against better sides. Not saying he won't do well but I think we need to be smart and see before changing the whole structure of our team.

Locked and Loaded · 15/04/2015 at 13:32

I will be jumping on NVB this week for Cockatoo. Jumped on Pendles last week for Rockliff and honestly I think he will play probably just had a lighter session today why risk him in training? Wondering whether to go JPK or Heppell for Gaz I have this feeling deep down that Heppell is about to explode

    CJay · 15/04/2015 at 13:51

Heppell is on the way up but JPK is already proven over many seasons.
    JPK for mine.

      Locked and Loaded · 15/04/2015 at 14:32

I agree JPK is the safest option although there is thus reason in particular I am leaning towards Heppell. There are striking similarities between the the Wolf and Heppell's development. In 2013 Fyfe averaged 106 and his ceiling was 138 and in 2014, well we all know what he did in 2014!! Heppell in 2014 had an average of 106 with a ceiling of 133 and this year has started against Hawthorn and arguably the next best side in the comp, Sydney in horrible conditions and is averaging 112. Fyfe exploded in his 5th year Heppell is now in his 5th year. I know they are not in the same mould although as Fyfe does Heppell is beginning to determine the outcome of games. I think I have talked my self into Heppell. I like JPK and have had him before but he can frustrate you and cost you when yo need him most. Proven premiums have alredy upset me this year a POD is what I am looking for.

    Rick Grimes · 15/04/2015 at 14:31

Heppell I really like. I'm confident he will average 115ish and be very consistent. He is unlikely to go up in value by much, if at all, this weekend, so I'm going to hold fire for another week and then reassess. If Beams stinks it up again, I may sideways to him.

G · 15/04/2015 at 13:38

Can you please explain the captains loophole

    Rick Grimes · 15/04/2015 at 14:22

Need a non-playing reserve for starters. Ideally playing late in the round. You then put that player on the field with the C on them. Make sure the reserve you have for that line is playing and has the E on them. Then place the V on a player who you think might go large – he'll need to be playing earlier in the round. If that player goes well, you leave it as is and you take the V and E scores. If he goes poorly, you take the C off your non-playing reserve and try your luck on someone else. Here's an example from my team:

On field rucks are Mummy and Lucey
    Nicnat is my reserve
Lucey has C (Cats play Sunday but he won't)
Sloan has V (he's playing Saturday)

If Sloan goes well, say 120+, I do nothing. If he doesn't I switch the C to Fyfe and hope for better. I can also move Nicnat into the field, but that is not essential for it all to work.

This trick will also work for any line where you have a non-starter. eg, my D8 won't play, but I have Oxley and Ibbottson contesting two positions. The draw works out that my D8 plays last game of the round this week, so I will put him on the field with Oxley as E. If Oxley plays well I take his score, if not I bring in Ibbotson and try my luck.

Hope this helps and doesn't over confuse.

      CJay · 15/04/2015 at 14:28

      Well explained Rick.
G – grab yourself a $3 pdf of the Jock Reynolds magazine. Explains captains loophole and much much more.

        G · 15/04/2015 at 16:32

        Thanks Rick and CJay

Nat_Fyfe07 · 15/04/2015 at 13:41

What is everyones thoughts on trading:

Ivan Maric to Brodie Grundy.

Maric will drop price, will Grundy will go up, plus will bank over 200k cash

    Rick Grimes · 15/04/2015 at 14:26

Grundy appears a much better player this year. Ruck rules seem to suit him. It's still a small sample size but you may get better bang for your buck in other lines.

northernsoul74 · 15/04/2015 at 13:47

Just read on another forum that Bont didn't train yesterday and was seen with his calf in a compression bandage. No idea if true, or how serious but keep an eye out for news.

    dallas · 15/04/2015 at 14:29

yeh my source says he will be out for 2-3 weeks strained his calf

    brucies pasted jocks · 15/04/2015 at 18:53

always check the AFL sites or clubs twitter- forums is just a whole lot advice and smoke and mirrors.

gordo · 15/04/2015 at 13:54

goodes to bruce or hunt? and is it worth going newton to nvb

    Rick Grimes · 15/04/2015 at 14:24

Goodes out = yes. The other one seems sideways and is not essential.

    Matthew · 15/04/2015 at 15:22

id get goodes out, but for neither of those options. both have had one good game, and you'd be chasing previous scores. look at rookies like oxley, saad and mcintosh if you dont have one of them. if you have all of them, think about upgrading him to a midpricer

      gordo · 15/04/2015 at 15:30

Have all of them and only have 300,000 to spend on getting Goodes out they will both sky rocket in price after a couple rounds even with scores of 60

      Girdle · 15/04/2015 at 18:45

I don’t see that as chasing previous scores. More as a quick cash grab. Bruce literally only needs 65 pts against Coll and Carlton then he’ll be over $400k in two weeks. Quick upgrade to premo defender. No risk, no reward…….

    brucies pasted jocks · 15/04/2015 at 18:52

why you getting rid of goodes? likely to come out and get some tons and 80+ quite regularly.

YouBloodyRippa · 15/04/2015 at 14:34

Thinking about parking gaz on the bench this week and getting the correctional rookie trades done as a priority. Im a leagues player and not chasing the 50k. Then next week swap gaz for a premium who has got cheaper, eg selwood, boak, priddis. Aiming to get sloan in the byes… any thoughts?

    JustinB · 15/04/2015 at 14:37

I was thinking the exact same thing.

    I N Pieman · 15/04/2015 at 14:45

If there are some glaring rookie errors then I guess you need to do that. Gaz won’t lose value anytime soon.

Franky · 15/04/2015 at 15:28

How are the must have cash cows? I already have van Berlo but not sure if there are anymore.

    harbl100 · 15/04/2015 at 16:23

The must have cash cows are going pretty well I reckon. Happy to have them in my starting lineup.

Mac · 15/04/2015 at 15:29

This week I'm doing Ablett to JPK and Cripps to NVB. Are these good trades? I feel as if NVB will gain more money quickly compared to Cripps. Thoughts?

    I N Pieman · 15/04/2015 at 15:31

    Agree with Cripps to NVB

    @AusSports84 · 15/04/2015 at 15:37

I've got the same 2 locked in.
However, alot of people in here suggest that the Cripps NVB trade is a waste.
Starting to think they might be right with all the carnage thats going on.

      Mac · 15/04/2015 at 15:40

Cripps is going no where fast. I have all other important rookies. Cripps late out is meant to mean he was dropped. NVB will earn cash fast IMO and has a good JS

    brucies pasted jocks · 15/04/2015 at 18:51

NVB to Cripps is a waste. 1 low score from NVB and say goodbye to his money increase. Wasted trade really.

Ben · 15/04/2015 at 15:30

Not sure why everyone is so surprised that the Little Champ is out/not doing what he did last year. No preseason, clearly a sore shoulder during preseason…was a massive risk picking him to being with. I can''t talk, I picked Rocky instead and got burnt there too!

Stevo · 15/04/2015 at 15:37

Ive traded out Scott Selwood to NVB, put I also want to move on Goodesy too. Im left with 470000 to play with. My situation is I have 4 above $400000 defenders already, and the two players Im looking at (McDonald and Laird), I already have 4 players from Melbourne and Adelaide. My questions are:

1) Is 5 above 400000 defenders this early too much?

2) Is 5 players from the same team too much?

3) What are some good defensive options that will appreciate nicely?

    gordo · 15/04/2015 at 17:38

mcdonald or savage at the saints i had him all preseason and stupidly trade him out just before lockout

Peter · 15/04/2015 at 15:37

I have all the good rookies except NVB was thinking Miller to NVB this week before NVB goes up in price but had a crazy thought about going Beams to NVB and storing some cash – it that too crazy of an idea?

The Patty Catz · 15/04/2015 at 16:09

This might sound a bit technical but i was fortunate to not have Gazza. and I am sitting in top 4000.

Is it an advantage to not trade this week? or is it an advtange that I can upgrade another line while gazza owners cant.

My thought is why dont I trade down goodes to a non-player, and use as a loop hole… This means I always get the best scores out of Oxley, Saad and McIntosh via loophole. The only downside is the rookie wouldnt make money, but Goodes isnt going to make much anyway if they vest him all the time.

Is anyone else using a dead cheap non player as a loop hole in the defence line? could be a winning move this year given the three rooks are firing random weeks.

Jack · 15/04/2015 at 16:17

Thoughts on trading K.Lambert to J.McGrath from Brisbane? Then possibly getting Lambert back later on in the year.

The kid looks like he can play and has a fair crack at the footy. Think he will continue to play in a weak Lions team.

I already have all the other quality rookies required to make money.

Sam · 15/04/2015 at 17:47

JPK or Pendles?!?!?!?

    Luviboy1 · 15/04/2015 at 18:24

      brucies pasted jocks · 15/04/2015 at 18:49

wait and see if pendles ankle is OK and if he's named first

    Jai · 15/04/2015 at 20:01

Mate I think JPK save money and good year

Jai · 15/04/2015 at 18:04

Hello fellow supercoaches and jock.
Before trading out GAZ for SLONE I already had 140k I now have 249,300.
I need help what should I do with it I have 1 trade for this week left.
I was thinking up-grading a Kolodjashnij to a premo-backman or downgrading him to a rooky and try to get a franklin before round 4. Or getting rid of Cripps and getting BONT. Or is there something else I should do. Please help me out jock and community thanks 🙂

Conor · 15/04/2015 at 18:17

Why not trade Ablett to a Van Berlo type

Think about it this way

Say u trade ablett down to van berlo and have 500 – 600k in the kitty for next week

Im my eyes van berlo is a must have and I am willing for my score to be around 50 points this week in exchange for the 60k that Van berlo will generate, and the next week I will have 500k to play around with and all the right rookies?

Thoughts Community

    Jai · 15/04/2015 at 20:06

Yes good idea but for him to generate 50k you have to sell him or the 50k means nothing. mate your choice I would go gaz to a Fyfe, Sloane, JPK, pendalbry or a strong 600k premo. If your want to go down grade gaz to vanberlow upgrade an no scoring rookie and get buddy in I'm seeing a good year in him.

brucies pasted jocks · 15/04/2015 at 18:41

There seems to be a lot of unrulely trading going on here fellas- remember cash cows are there for the money making and upgrading- not trading GAJ for a Shiel for extra $$ or bringing in NVB for cripps or miller or another cheapy. Remember NVB is twice as much than miller so will have to score a lot more heavily for the $$$ increase constantly- don't waste trades on rookies to increase your score!!!!!! Yes IF they get their avge this week NVB will go up 65K and TMiller will go up 20K- but that's IF they reach there avge. NVB could come out and score a 50 and Miller could score an 80 and those price changes would be a whole lot different. Remember that NVB has to score higher for longer than Miller and in the end miller will prob make more $$$- you wont have wasted a trade and he'll be ripe for the plucking at the right time. And Cripps missing a week will help in the end coz its a problem when all the calfs fatten and need to be slaughtered in the same week- theres only so much steak you can eat at once (unless you're the skin-flute who loves his tube steak)

But it is a game so we'll see what happens at the end of the next round. Just don't expect Shiel to score over 100- don't expect NVB to score over 60, or should I say don't be surprised if they don't score those totals- and also don't be surprised if Goodes scores a ton, Oxley is benched, TMiller scores an 80+ and Cripps comes out a smashes a 130 against Essendon. Anyone know how injury prone NVB is?

dave · 15/04/2015 at 20:24

What’s everyone doing about beams??? I am worried about his output, considering the attention he is getting without rocky around…trade to Sloane, or hold???

John · 15/04/2015 at 20:27

G'day community, I've got a bit of a dilemma here, is it worth me keeping Gibbo in my backline, frawley out for 4-6 could impact his output and there are more reliable options out there smith, simpson and birchall, I tend to stay away from sideways trades but the prospect of straight swapping Gibson, for a proven premo is very tempting.

jmy7 · 15/04/2015 at 20:47

so just need to see if this is how the captains loophole can work this week,
the players im working with, kpk, fyfe and ablett
# since GAJ isnt playing this week, i have him on the field as captain, gold coast play sunday
# now i have jpk on the field as VC, plays sat
# fyfe is playing on sunday after jpk so his on the bench
now what happens???
