Gary ablett – bont
Lambert- rich

Jock do these trades look reasonable?

    Ryan · 12/04/2015 at 22:22

Bontempelli looked good, but tough run coming up. Risky pick

    SideBySidebottom · 12/04/2015 at 22:33

Bont's a mid/Forward. You'd get better value out of him as a forward. Fyfe would be a better choice for the midfield, amongst others.

    Apocalypse · 12/04/2015 at 23:00

Wouldn't jump on Bont, reckon he's gonna get more attention. Only played 20 games and won't pump out the scores he's been pumping out so far consistently, playing in his first losing game for the year against first Hawks this weekend. good luck!

    Cezza93 · 12/04/2015 at 23:27

Agree with Ryan, Bonts a great player but the bloke is still young! tread very carefully, i'm almost positive hes won't continue this output.

      Swans2012 · 13/04/2015 at 07:59

Output will drop I reckon but could play out the year averaging 90-100 which is still a win at his price….that said I think I’ll dodge him as a bit of an anti pod

        Dean · 13/04/2015 at 16:55

Totally disagree the Bont is a freak trust me, he wont average below 90 season end and he can handle the tag.
At his price he is a MUST grab forward keeper, LOCK and throw away the key, unless injured IMO

          Kenna · 13/04/2015 at 19:11

Anyone here reckon Bont is similar to Fyfe.. Both wear the head band

Not only that Fyfe and Bont averaged in the 70’s and in Fyfe second year he averaged 100+… I think the same might happen for the bont!

            Bog rat · 13/04/2015 at 23:42

Have thought the same kenna both, look very similar in the way they play

            SideBySidebottom · 14/04/2015 at 11:27

Fyfe has averaged 73, 108, 93, 107, 122. It's taken him five years to get to an elite average for the midfield but two years as a forward.

              Bog rat · 15/04/2015 at 23:30

Gotta remember Fyfe had his shoulder problems in that time as well so his average could have been better

          Cezza93 · 14/04/2015 at 13:22

How does he handle a tag? The tag is going to Macrae and before that Libba or Griffin. Martin played a loose run with last week and no one picked him up on the West Coast game. Will attract attention and will drop off, not entirely but considerably.

          BKW · 16/04/2015 at 08:02

Agree – he is a F6 keeper for mine, will average 100-105 most likely

While I understand the comments about his age/only being in 2nd year, there is something very special about Bont – wins his own ball, uses it very well, always seems to have time and space (Pendles anyone?) tackles, can take a mark and kick a goal.

Also, not many teams will be able to apply a heavy tag, he’s 194cm – most teams primary tagger will be giving up too much height.

          BKW · 16/04/2015 at 08:04

          Make that 192cm

          mungos men · 16/04/2015 at 09:48

Question is, inside player or outside? inside players generally avoid tag due to not damaging on the outlet whereas outside players break lines and create scoring chains i.e stanton ess, montagna stk, griffen both gws, macrae dogs, stevie j geelong, stephen hill freo, wells North…

Seamus · 12/04/2015 at 22:16

I’m thinking ablett-wines, Lewis or treloar and then use the cash to turn cripps into d rich

    Ryan · 12/04/2015 at 22:23

    Solid, wines looking good

      SideBySidebottom · 13/04/2015 at 21:22

      Solid wines are probably off.

splinter · 12/04/2015 at 22:20

need some advice community.
what to do with wells?
trade to rich
van berlo??

    Ryan · 12/04/2015 at 22:23

    Van berlo for mine

      Swans2012 · 12/04/2015 at 22:31

I’m thinking Wallis or van berlo, maybe van berlo thanks to adelaides run to the bye….shame about wells… He was flying til being subbed

        Motsy · 12/04/2015 at 22:51

I was at the game, avid roo's supporter, Wells was looking horrible, was barely moving all game.

          splinter · 12/04/2015 at 23:02

he was dominating till he subbed

            Haz · 13/04/2015 at 00:25

just because he picked up a few sc points, doesn't mean he looks good

          Swans2012 · 13/04/2015 at 08:01

Maybe it looked different on the box cause he was looking ok to me, but either way van berlo for 100k+ cheaper looks a better stone now even if he only averages 80 from this point

    Tyler · 12/04/2015 at 22:29

Apparently he’s looking to come back this week and not miss a game anyway

Lloyd · 12/04/2015 at 22:20

Is Tom McDonald the real deal? If so it solves the Brett Goodes situation

    Ryan · 12/04/2015 at 22:24

Gold Coast and gws a nice start to the season, be surprised to see him scoring well against top teams

      Apocalypse · 12/04/2015 at 23:01

Rule #2 – Don't jump on the early bolter.

    nick · 14/04/2015 at 14:08

again my question why start with goodes and I think tom McDonald wont get those scores against big teams like geelong hawks etc his scores will go 50 plus when Melbourne start playing big teams so I would not jump on him could be wrong but yeah

Bender · 12/04/2015 at 22:21

Ablett to Bont and move Bont Forward
Goodes to Smith

scrofl · 12/04/2015 at 22:21

I'm thinking Ablett to Sloane, and then Goodes to Docherty or McDonald. Either that or hold Goodes for one more week and trade Miller to Van Berlo. Thoughts?

    scrofl · 12/04/2015 at 22:23

OR, should I keep Ablett and trade Maric for Swan/Bont (via Bellchambers in the FWD line) and use the cash to upgrade Miller to NVB?

      Ryan · 12/04/2015 at 22:25

think ablett has to go, what about Goodes to hunt(or do you already have him?)

        scrofl · 12/04/2015 at 23:01

I dont have Hunt, but I'm not really sold on him.

    Dan · 12/04/2015 at 23:44

Yep Ablett to Sloane. Id go NVB. Goodes BE only 60ish so won't lose too much value.

Frank · 12/04/2015 at 22:25

Leading the country community…gonna sleep well tonight- thankyou to all who share their wisdom!! Special thanks to Mad Mick for swaying me to keep Dusty…

    Ryab · 12/04/2015 at 22:28

A privilege to be in the same sc group as you

    Swans2012 · 12/04/2015 at 22:34

Good job frank, keep it up

      Frank · 12/04/2015 at 22:58

      Cheers Ryab & Swans2012.

    jockreynolds · 12/04/2015 at 22:47

    great stuff frank!!!

      Frank · 12/04/2015 at 22:56

Thanks Jock! Cheers for all the awesome information and strategy advice o' great one.

    steve · 12/04/2015 at 22:48

Grundy! Cheeky pick m8 could have a huge payoff

      Frank · 12/04/2015 at 22:57

Only a pie fan would do that hey, yeah was cheeky. Good so far.

        Dee · 13/04/2015 at 18:51

Scored 2321…. 904th in the land! Nice work mate….

KRUZEY · 12/04/2015 at 22:29

Cripps to vanderberg for the cash injection or Botempelli for the cash and long haul?

    Ryan · 12/04/2015 at 22:35

    Vandenberg for mine

      KRUZEY · 12/04/2015 at 23:16

    scrofl · 12/04/2015 at 23:01

    Definitely Vberg!

      KRUZEY · 12/04/2015 at 23:14

      Thanks mate

Wildy · 12/04/2015 at 22:30

Start of this podcast is absolute gold , keep it up you bloody legend jock !

Ryan · 12/04/2015 at 22:32

Picked trent Mckenzie, Doh. Worked well this week as a loophole to utilise oxleys score. But 440k too expensive for that. I was thinking Mckenzie to hunt, frees up cash for later. it goes against the rule of getting rid of premiums and bringing in mid-pricers. A good trade or asking for trouble?

    scrofl · 12/04/2015 at 23:21

I think McDonald's scoring will be pretty erratic this year, go with Docherty if you're looking at straight swapping. If you've got some spare coin, just go safe with Smith or Shaw.

Bloob · 12/04/2015 at 22:34

Should I trade Goodes for hunt or Oxley?

    Ryan · 12/04/2015 at 22:38

    Oxley mate

    @TheNoLanguage · 12/04/2015 at 23:20

steve · 12/04/2015 at 22:43

GAJ -> Sloane

Then either
B.Goodes -> T.Mcdonald or
T.Miller -> vandenBerg

Im thinking of miller – vandenberg to get the rookies right, but mcdonald is set to go from 380 to 440 next week.

    Ryan · 12/04/2015 at 22:47

agree the vandenberg is the best option, melbourne have had a soft start to the season, when they face top teams I expect his output to decline

      steve · 12/04/2015 at 22:52

Yeah GCS & GWS, might wait and see with mcdonald. thanks

    @t_woof · 12/04/2015 at 23:01

Definitely the Miller > VandenBerg option steve.

Bonters · 12/04/2015 at 22:47

Very early on in the trading week but I think I'm keeping Gary, on principles. I just owe it to the guy to stick with him.

Plus, when he turns this patch around and scores 160 I want to be right there with him.

    Steve · 12/04/2015 at 22:59

Booked to drop 55k this week and 44k next week if he keeps this up. Is it really worth it?

    cam · 12/04/2015 at 23:00

I agree with ya mate, although I have not seen him play this year, surely he can get back premium form, surely?

      @t_woof · 12/04/2015 at 23:30

I'd strongly advise catching a replay of both games before holding or folding cam.

    Sean · 13/04/2015 at 00:45

Zero tackles in two games, enough said. I have him but he has to go, for now

      Josh · 13/04/2015 at 08:38

Spot on Sean. I had a shoulder reconstruction one month after Ablett last year – there's no way I'd tackle anything other than a slab of Coopers on the couch in front of the footy right now.

??? · 12/04/2015 at 22:48

Ablett to Sloane or Bonts?

    steve · 12/04/2015 at 22:52

My thinking would be to downgrade GAJ to someone who will be a top 8 mid, then use a midpricer to get back to GAJ if he picks up. Saves a trade that way. But that depends on how many stepping stones you have, how much $$$ you have and how well theyre playing.

      ??? · 12/04/2015 at 22:58

Fair enough GAJ to Sloane wil leave me with 170k

    Motsy · 12/04/2015 at 22:59

Sloane 100% look at Sloanes run coming up compared to Bont.

    @t_woof · 12/04/2015 at 23:04

    Definitely Sloane.

    throttlefinger · 12/04/2015 at 23:07

    Sloane. Proven. No contest.

    The Bont · 12/04/2015 at 23:22

Sloane. Doggies have had two great wins and our players are scoring well but we've got Hawks in Tassie, Adelaide at home then Sydney at the SCG in the next 3 weeks. Probably the three form teams of the comp at the moment.

??? · 12/04/2015 at 22:49

Actually Ablett to Sloane and Goodes to watts
Or Ablett to Bonts and Goodes to smith

    @t_woof · 12/04/2015 at 23:05

I'd go with the Sloane/Oxley option.

    throttlefinger · 12/04/2015 at 23:08

Well, Goodes has a low BE so I don't think you need to offload. I'm going to keep, may put on bench (could be a handy cover). Smith will be out this week most probably due to concussion management.

Gaz to Sloane = gold, query mark.

    scrofl · 12/04/2015 at 23:24

    Surely you're kidding with Watts?

      ??? · 12/04/2015 at 23:31

      That was a typo

    yurkins · 13/04/2015 at 00:37

hold your horses on smith just be wary, with knee to the head in the last Q against Collingwood, he'll probs be fine but wait til he's named and not last minute out.

??? · 12/04/2015 at 22:50

Not watts I mean Oxley

    @TheNoLanguage · 12/04/2015 at 23:19

I would go Sloane and Oxley. Oxley looked really good on Saturday

Sam · 12/04/2015 at 23:00

Anyone not making trades this week? Did previous SC winners not trade before round 3? Bruyn???

    Steve · 12/04/2015 at 23:03

Make sure you have as good a rookie setup as possible, unless its already 10/10. Then there is a reasoning for not trading.

    Frank · 12/04/2015 at 23:21

I'm trading Goodes to Shiel by swinging Saad from mid to back, then Nick Haynes to Tory Dickson by swinging H.Goddard from forward to back. Leaves me with 27 trades and $273K with a mid set up of Shiel, Sloane, Fyfe, Lewis, Kennedy, Wines, CEY, V'berg. Should have a team that can handle itself for 4-5 weeks till the rookies are ready to get upgraded and have spare cash for any running repairs. I don't think you can win without trading a few around early

      Dean · 13/04/2015 at 21:13

Not sold on Shiel as they have only played Melbourne & Saints and think burning a trade for Tory Dickson is a waste of a trade as he will be very inconsistent.

      The Ranger · 13/04/2015 at 22:26

      Shark move.
      Nice work Frank.

    scrofl · 12/04/2015 at 23:25

I think using 2 trades this week is a must, as you have to get your rookies right. Unless you've got all your rookies perfect, of course.

    seaford scouse · 13/04/2015 at 22:22

JB goes against the grain and advocates aggressive early trading if warranted to correct team setup/structures if going for the big prize which makes sense to me, remember the conclusion of this round will see the most significant price changes for the whole season so all factors should be considered before pulling the pin on any trade.

Nash · 12/04/2015 at 23:01

What's more important right now community!!

Crips to Daniel rich for cash generation or goodes to Adam oxaly.

    Sulzeer · 12/04/2015 at 23:36

If your after cash generation have you considered van berlo? Cheaper than rich and huge appreciation after next week

David · 12/04/2015 at 23:01

Cripps swinging in Saad from defence and bringing in Oxely for Saad's spot
Then Goodes out for Docherty

    @t_woof · 12/04/2015 at 23:36

I prefer Saad down back. Looks a very consistent 70 type player for D5-6. McIntosh and Oxley may be a little more spasmodic. Start Saad, and EM Loophole McIntosh and Oxley – if fixture permits of course.

Saad is wasted if sitting on the midfield bench.

dean · 12/04/2015 at 23:03

Goodes to oxley
Bellchambers to Bontempelli

Does this look good guys, or should i hold?

    @t_woof · 12/04/2015 at 23:37

If you're starting Bellchambers in your forward line, then he's obviously there for ruck insurance.

Don't think you require the insurance any more?

      harbl100 · 13/04/2015 at 00:41

I've been adamant on keeping bellchambers for a rainy day. I know he'll save my bacon at some stage. That said, I'm really just after a reasonable ranking and to win a premiership, I don't really have a chance at winning the 50k so depends what your goal is.

      Dustbin Feltchers · 13/04/2015 at 00:42

im in a similar boat..i have tom bell end chambers as ruck insurance in fwd line…but my r1 r2 are goldstein nic nat, so pretty happy at the moment. trading gaz to sloane, i can get the bont for bell end chambers. just urks me seeing tbc stink up my fwd line…happy to take the risk with bont…big fan of docherty too..

      SCOTLAND THE BRAVE · 13/04/2015 at 09:22

TBC – to be concerned? Ruck insurance in fwd line after abs to sloane last week happy with that one have the coin to either go TBC to bont or cripps to rich. Have all the rookies so CEY an Vanders can go m7 -m8 so rich would push one onto bench bont would give me 4 strong in fwd line with fwd rookies last two spots. Thoughts? Thinking the bont but do we see the need for ruck cover?

      SCOTLAND THE BRAVE · 13/04/2015 at 09:27

Most teams I see don’t have cover maybe backing in their gut?

Dave Ruddick · 12/04/2015 at 23:04

Got a little bit of cash and have not traded yet…thinking Jaksch to Oxley and Cripps to The Bont….seems like a no-brainer to me. Thoughts?

    @t_woof · 12/04/2015 at 23:39

    I don't mind that Dave.

Cripps > Bontempelli isn't bad at all. I do think up to Bontempelli is a valid option, but downgrade to Bontempelli isn't this week. E.G Ablett > Bontempelli.

    Dean · 13/04/2015 at 21:22

Excellent Dave that should improve your score dramatically and also your future cash generation as both Ox & Bont will increase quite substantially in price. Great moves IMO

Riley · 12/04/2015 at 23:04

What should I do about big mummy?

    @t_woof · 12/04/2015 at 23:40

      Sulzeer · 12/04/2015 at 23:47

Woof is right, if Mummy is your biggest concern you must have a really good team

Matthew · 12/04/2015 at 23:05

I was thinking keeping Ablett and going Newton to Rich, and Goodes to Oxley. Or would it be better to go Ablett to Wines than the Newton trade?

    @t_woof · 12/04/2015 at 23:41

Not a fan of Ablett > Wines.

Would prefer the Newton > Rich and Goodes > Oxley option Matthew.

    Dean · 13/04/2015 at 21:32

Get rid of GAJ as he will bleed cash. I would personally trade GAJ out for a proven Elite premium in someone like Fyfe, Sloane, Pendles, JPK or Wines and forget about Rich as it's highly likely if you bring in Rich for GAJ at some point you'll need to trade Rich out for a elite premium later on anyway so its going to cost you 2 trades which is pointless, considering each trade is worth around $200k.

Then go Goods to Oxley, that's a must, u need Oxley as a cash cow.

throttlefinger · 12/04/2015 at 23:07

Poignant. Highly personal. And at times wildly perverse. In other words, a KICKASS episode, gents.

Thinking I'm going to off Cripps to Vandy. Money will help upgrade KK if I so choose (which I'm leaning).

Resist urge for sideway trades. Back your prems. Was considering swapping Griffs last week and glad I stuck.

    Sulzeer · 12/04/2015 at 23:43

Thumper did alright on weekend, respectable 80, in a side that looked pretty ordinary against the saints, mid prices we can't expect the 100+ every week and his BE is only 88

      throttlefinger · 13/04/2015 at 00:00

Very true, Sulzeer. But was horrid against the Dees, even tagged. Feel there's a lot of unsteadiness in the Suns. So he could be moved around some more. Yes it's a guess. But moving Cripps can get me Rance or Murph. Think in the long haul, those two will be a top 8 def. Can't see that for Thumper. Better to cut string now. Keep the uncertainty and lower expectations for D4-D6.

        schawk · 13/04/2015 at 17:48

Throttle i have cripps to but with judd going down and carlton getting smashed every week should we wait..
he will surley play the next 10 games will end up making us 150 k ? should ave around 80.

          throttlefinger · 13/04/2015 at 19:59

True but I don't have Vandy and I think he'll be a better cash cow than Cripps. That's the deal breaker for me, SCHawk.

    coady82 · 13/04/2015 at 10:27

KK hasn't performed as I'd hoped. I will hold for another week.

My concern is Boak. Thought he was going to be a nice POD. I know sideways trades are no good but I'm thinking of flicking him and Gaz this week to maybe Sloan and Shiel/Pendles. Thoughts??

      throttlefinger · 13/04/2015 at 20:01

I'm doing the same, Coady. More thought into it and perhaps he'll pick up. Sure being 0-2 everyone is getting sprayed so expect the Thumper to turn it up. 90+ this week. Makes his BE!

    Tuk · 13/04/2015 at 16:52

Mate, was looking at doing very similar trades with KK –> Rance and Cripps –> J McGrath (Bris FWD rookie – I've already got the others) via DPP.
Personally I think it's solid. Already looking at an upgrade to a keeper from a mid pricer down back. Rance is killing it down there.

Or do people think it would be better to offload Newton rather than Cripps?

      throttlefinger · 13/04/2015 at 20:03

Hey Tuk! I'm holding KK. Not sure he's going to tank. Seems a slow starter. Believe he'll have a fire under his Thumper so may go ton this week. (fingers crossed).

Also, wanted to wait to see how the DEFs pan out. Smith looks like gold. Rance, think so but don't know so. As Patch suggested, don't want to get caught with this year's Cale Hooker.

Don't have Newton but am offing Cripps, as I don't have Vandy.

      Dean · 13/04/2015 at 21:43

I have all the rookies thankfully, seems the only thing I did right, so I have McGrath.

If you don't have VanBerlo why bother trading Cripps to McGrath, you'll be allot better trading Cripps to Vanberlo.

lm11 · 12/04/2015 at 23:10

Damn, I was set on Sloane since round 1. Even placed a solid $50 for the brownlow on him. All of a sudden people have the oporutnity to snag him now and now he's no longer a POD 🙁

    Steve · 12/04/2015 at 23:14

Such is life. Also you can wave goodbye to that $50 unless fyfe gets suspended. 6 votes and no sign of stopping. Contested freak

    Sulzeer · 12/04/2015 at 23:40

Did the same with Lewis, thanks for the huge first round score…

    Harry · 12/04/2015 at 23:53

Me too! Only 1 other player in my league has Sloane and I was rock solid on him and Fyfe all pre season. But I flip flopped on Lewis and that may cost me. Can't win em all eh?

    Luke · 13/04/2015 at 09:08

I'm exactly the same mate. Sloane and Rich were my (somewhat) POD's.

JB · 12/04/2015 at 23:14

Ablett to JPK or Parker?
Miller to NVB?

Thoughts …

    JB · 12/04/2015 at 23:31

    Or Jordan Lewis?

    @t_woof · 12/04/2015 at 23:43

Not sure with NVB……Something i need to consider myself this week. Was going to ask the community.

      JB · 12/04/2015 at 23:51

Not many rookie mids out there Adelaide great early draw …

        Anonymous · 13/04/2015 at 05:59

        Ablett to NVB
        Lamb to Bontempelli

@TheNoLanguage · 12/04/2015 at 23:16

Hey guys, thinking about going Cripps > NVB and GAJ > JPK
Leaves me with 133k in the bank coming off a 2270 and no trades last week
My only question is do I go with JPK, Pendles or the Sloane Ranger?

    Dan · 12/04/2015 at 23:37

Not Pendles. BE is high. Of the other 2 its anyones guess.

      @TheNoLanguage · 13/04/2015 at 14:36

Cheers Dan. That's the reason I am leaning towards JPK, decent run too

    @t_woof · 12/04/2015 at 23:44

All three are very good options. Not sure you can go too wrong with either of the three.

NVB…..Yes, he needs to be discussed. Need to consider him myself. Surprised he wasn't mentioned in the podcast, although there was a plethora of things to go through in 30-Odd mins.

harry · 12/04/2015 at 23:17

@t_woof · 12/04/2015 at 23:20

"Subbed out for Shitness" – This had me in in stitches!! Sooooooooooo funny!

As always an awesome podcast.

So much to chew on this week. Could be the biggest week of 2015. Hold or Fold Gary, finalise those rookies, are the Docherty's, Tom Mac's, Bontempelli's types keepers……Get em in now, or not?…….Decisions, Decisions for all.

* Obviously podcast was recorded before finalised scores. Thought Rockliff > Lewis was fine. Scored 111, after having a very lacklustre first half. Showed me that he has taken his game to a new level. Pre 2014 Lewis would have scored 70-80 today.

Enjoy the week ahead, and all the best with trading for Round 3 community!

gillie44 · 12/04/2015 at 23:21

C.Peerce to H.Goddard(already got Oxley, McIntosh, and Saad)
P.Cripps to D.Rich(Already got Heeney, Vandemberg, and CEY)

    gillie44 · 12/04/2015 at 23:27

Oh also I didn't make any trades last week

    Dan · 12/04/2015 at 23:34

Pearce is avg 55 and BE is 55 so won't lose value if you can hold a week. Plus Ibbotson is an injury waiting to happen I think…then bang, Pearce takes his role.

    Dan · 12/04/2015 at 23:35

Also, you could go cripps to NVB.

Marco_Polo94 · 12/04/2015 at 23:21

Fantastic podcast as usual gents. I thought GAJ would have at least showed something this round but alas…. time to move on..

Unsure whether to hold or move cripps on… If i do, Cripps to NVB or Rich? Didn't see Rich against the roos, worried he will get attention with hanley and rockliff out. Or will the attention stay on beams? This will largely depend on whether cripps is selected of course. Cheers lads

    [email protected] · 13/04/2015 at 15:11

If you don't have NVB or Rich and have Cripps then you need to trade. NVB is looking at about a 70k increase and Rich is looking at about a 50K increase.

As Cripps has only played one game you can use him to "cash-in" a rookie in a few weeks if you dump him now. Il'd go for Rich as his still scoring well when his teams is doing bad.

juddsbaldhead · 12/04/2015 at 23:22

Looking at a half dilemma with A.Swallow, 500 thousand and wanting to know what do do with the fella, got a spare 90,000 from the cripps correctional help?

    Dan · 12/04/2015 at 23:33

Im in the same boat. Im thinking Swallow to Rich and Cripps to NVB.

    @t_woof · 12/04/2015 at 23:55

Have to forgive Swallow for Round 1 score of 69, and go off his Round 2 of 100. His Round 2 score is more reflective of the output he should provide moving forward.

Should score in the 90-110 zone for you each week. I'd say hold, although it would be tempting to use the coin to turn him into Jordan Lewis.

      juddsbaldhead · 13/04/2015 at 06:15

I see what your saying mate, but that 90k is burning a hole in my pocket. And swallow just isn't moving like I hoped

    Dean · 13/04/2015 at 21:53

DONT & I mean don't go wasting trades from Swallow to Rich after just 2 games, he scored 100 in round 2.

Cripps yes get rid of Cripps to someone like Van Berlo, or if u have the cash and your gut says Rich then do that.

Cezza93 · 12/04/2015 at 23:24

Guys I love Ablett, selected him for the last 7 seasons with the C almost every round granted the loophole.

But i tell you now community Nat Fyfe will bloody tear the AFL apart this year. A side ways trade is absolutely necessary.

BUT Gary is not done. Let's be honest when that shoulder comes good, which it will he'll come home like a freight train, Trade him in when he hits form at a cheap price. simple.

    Matthew · 13/04/2015 at 00:16

I like your thinking, except for the part where you started without Fyfe

      Cezza93 · 13/04/2015 at 18:28

I didn't actually mate! I'm just advising the masses to go on board! Haha.

I'll be downing Ablett to Sloane.

jewels · 12/04/2015 at 23:26

no trades used as of yet.. Looking to get rid of touk miller and cripps. one will go to vandenberg but the other not to sure??

any help community have 21k left

Back: shaw, newnes, Lumumba
goodes, oxley, mcintosh (brown, saad)

Mid: beams, fyfe, parker
wines, stevens, sloane
newton, cripps (miller, heeney, CEY)

Ruck: nic nat, maric (read)

Fwd: gray, martin, swan
TBC, salem, clark (Hogan, lambert)

    @randomcliche · 13/04/2015 at 00:23

    miller-vandenberg & cripps-vanBerlo, think the cash works on that…

@BrandonMing19 · 12/04/2015 at 23:26

Ablett to Fyfe
Cripps to Van Berlo
What do you think guys?

    Dan · 12/04/2015 at 23:32

    Like it!

    @TylerCArmstrong · 12/04/2015 at 23:43

    yeah, good.

    harbl100 · 13/04/2015 at 00:39

    Solid trades

    Mike · 13/04/2015 at 09:37

Why jump off Cripps so soon? It’s not like Carlton have all these stars to come back in. Cripps will play plenty.

      Dean · 13/04/2015 at 22:04

Mike because Cripps has a Average of 53 after 1 game, where as VanBerlo has a Average of 93 after 2 games and he is basically the same price as Cripps so VanBerlo will go up $70k

Who knows what happens with Cripps, I agree he should get a ton of games but why was he dropped in the first place, Malthouse might bring him back and SUB him. Due to the uncertanty with Cripps your much better off trading him out and getting VanBerlo because his price will hit $400k by round 5 or 6 providing he is playing in round 3 and im sure he will.

Beams · 12/04/2015 at 23:28

Beams….without the support of a decent midfield has he got a chance of 600k worthy output?

    Nev · 13/04/2015 at 00:15

I have some concerns also about beams, but you picked him in your team for a reason so hold tight on him

      Jayden · 13/04/2015 at 01:11

Me 3 a little bit concerned about his output

Dan · 12/04/2015 at 23:31

I got A.Swallow as a hopeful quick jump to a fallen premo, but thinking trading him for Rich and Cripps for NVB as both will generate cash and will have 150K in the warchest for a Pendles/Selwood in about 4-5 weeks. Was lucky enough to get every rook so don't need to burn a trade on them.

    jmy7 · 13/04/2015 at 19:48

why not go straight swap for shiels???

Caz · 12/04/2015 at 23:37

Hi community had a great start so far ranked 150, I'm wondering what people think about dylan shiel tempted to go ablett down to him and goodes to Oxley or up to premium defender thoughts? Thnx

Hey mate with your ranking you should be giving most of us advice!

      Caz · 13/04/2015 at 01:56

This is the highest I have ever been ranked, very happy so far but big decesions to be made and a long way to go.

    demon · 13/04/2015 at 01:13

also keeping in mind that GWS have played melbourne and saints so far

      Caz · 13/04/2015 at 01:54

Very true best bet I think is proven prem so going that way. Thnx very much it's appreciated.

    Dean · 13/04/2015 at 22:17

Caz firstly congrats on your ranking m8 thats awesome. To trade GAJ to Shiel is suicide especially with your ranking, don't get me wrong Shiel has killed it so far but who have they played? (Saints & Melbourne) now there draw isn't so easy.

You need to trade GAJ to a elite premium such as: Fyfe, SLOANE, JPK, Pendles, I personally am going GAJ straight to Sloane.

Goodes to Oxley is also a must as you'll generate quite allot of cash by that trade. Although because your going for overall 50k win, treat your trades as GOLD as you could easily win this if you pick right and luck falls in your way.,,

The Bont · 12/04/2015 at 23:42

B. Goodes >> Oxley and Cripps >> Rich, Wallis or Van Berlo?

Pocket 130k by taking NVB but don't think it's quite enough to turn me away from Wallis and Rich who should hold 100+ averages.

Nash · 12/04/2015 at 23:44

Goodes to Oxaly or Cripps to Rich

    Matthew · 13/04/2015 at 00:14

I have the same dilemma, and I'm going Goodes to Oxley.

      harbl100 · 13/04/2015 at 00:38

      Goodes to Oxley i'd say.

Phil · 13/04/2015 at 00:03

Cripps to Van Berlo or Heeney. Is Heeney a must have?

    Matthew · 13/04/2015 at 00:13

yes. definitely in the best 21 at swans

    The Bont · 13/04/2015 at 01:19

    Dean · 13/04/2015 at 22:20

Heeney MUST have. Got to have him mate, his cash generation will double Vanberlo's

Was Soft...Goddard · 13/04/2015 at 00:08

GAJ to Sloane, JPK or Rich?

    Sulzeer · 13/04/2015 at 00:11

Depends on what ur midfield is and what your looking for? Sloane or JPK would stay in your side until the end but Rich won't, if it's cash generation don't think you can go past NVB

Matthew · 13/04/2015 at 00:19

What should I do with Josh Gibson? Chose him due to his floating role thanks to Frawley, but with Frawls injured he may return to second key defender.

    BAF · 13/04/2015 at 00:54

Same delima, think need to see what his role looks like going forward.

      BKW · 13/04/2015 at 07:52

I had the same thoughts but perhaps they pick Spanger to replace frawley and Gibson stays as third man – hopefully that’s the way they go

@randomcliche · 13/04/2015 at 00:21

So two trade, two questions!
Q1: So I want Vandenberg, who should get the chop: D Wells, P Cripps or T Miller?
Q2: NVB in for the second of above (if so which one); or Oxley in for Goodes? Thoughts?

    Marco_Polo94 · 13/04/2015 at 13:16

Oxley is just about a must have I think. And wells looked very average, I'd move him on.

      randomcliche · 13/04/2015 at 13:52

Thanks Marco. I didn’t see the roo’s match…At 1.2 points per minute he must have been getting serous junk to be subbed off and ragged out like this. Miller ain’t a high bar to get past.

Jimi · 13/04/2015 at 00:30

Ok so Ablett is the no 1 priority corrective trade, who should be number 2?:

B Goodes (to Oxley) or
P Cripps (to NVB/Wallis).

    @randomcliche · 13/04/2015 at 01:08

Looks like my question above, happy sailing with you. If both selected, Goodes has the extra match but that 10 is going to hurt the prices for few weeks. I'm punting both I suspect, but your highest priority is Oxley IMO.

      Jimi · 13/04/2015 at 02:21

Sorry mate obviously didn't look hard enough! Thanks for the advice.

    cow roll · 13/04/2015 at 01:52

    Goodes to oxley

    Mitchy · 13/04/2015 at 13:06

Im in the same boat although I have Oxley so I would have to trade Goodes to someone else so im leaning towards P Cripps (to NVB/Wallis)

      [email protected] · 13/04/2015 at 14:19

I'm in a similar situation Mitchy.

Goodes is not going to drop too much value so I wouldn't waste a trade on him this week however unless something amazing happens he has to go within 2 weeks.

Cripps for NVB/Heeney/Vandenberg depending on who you already have.

        Mitchy · 13/04/2015 at 19:08

Yeah thanks [email protected] I will probably go cripps for NVB unless i think of a better one.

harbl100 · 13/04/2015 at 00:37

Thanks for your help thus far, community. Would love some opinions on this situation.

Thinking trades, with 30 in hand (along with $140k) here's my team:

DEF: Simpson, Hibberd, Newnes, Goodes, Saad, Mcintosh (Oxley, Brown)
MID: Fyfe, Sloane, Pendlebury, Selwood, Griffen, Ellis-Yoleman, Vandenberg, Newton (Heeney, Cripps, Miller)
RUC: Goldstein, Maric (Read)
FWD: Martin, Goddard, Swan, Bellchambers, Salem, Hogan (Clark, Lambert)

I'm thinking Cripps => McGrath (fwd via swing, to generate cash for my next trade), and Goodes => Docherty. I'm considering this because I'm really thinking Docherty is the real deal. Or should someone like Nathan Van Berlo be a priority?

    Jayden · 13/04/2015 at 01:09

Docherty output might lower with Andrew walker coming back soon

    @randomcliche · 13/04/2015 at 01:17

You M5 structure has 3 good point scoring/cash generating rookies for on field. Getting full premo is the aim. If you think Docherty is the go then get him in. He is not in my team though, but I wouldn't be unhappy to have him. sighs…newnes….good luck. NVB is a medium priority for mine, as anything with BE <-80 is must have, <-40 nice to have as far as rookies go.

Jayden · 13/04/2015 at 01:07

Anyone worried about Dayne beams output with Rockliff out?

    dognino · 13/04/2015 at 07:40

Didn't see the game, was he tagged hard or just not in it? I have him, and not looking to trade him at the moment, he can be a beast, just hasn't started as well as I expected.

    Favalinko u Beauty · 13/04/2015 at 10:14

He was tagged, not to concerned, he will do a Dusty and will come this week and turn it around

luke · 13/04/2015 at 01:19

What should i do about leuenberger
trade or keep??

    jacob · 13/04/2015 at 12:27

Keep for a little while at least.

The Bont · 13/04/2015 at 01:24

Exactly. The only issue is if we're forced to trade him out if the Suns do decide to give him a few weeks rest.

Another way of looking at it though is that if he continues to score 100s-110s, it's not the most efficient way to spend 730k.

Nicholas · 13/04/2015 at 01:52

Hello guys, I have decided to trade Ablett and Cripps away I have 15k already in the bank. I would have liked to go Sloane and Rich but I am 4k away. So here are what I think are my options, Rich and Josh Kennedy or another cheaper premium or I could go Sloane and Wallis. Any help would be appreciated to come to a good decision.

    Nicholas · 13/04/2015 at 02:04

I want to trade Ablett to something 100% but for the second trade I could also go Goodes to Oxley or even go Cripps to NVB. P,ease give me some advice I am not sure which is best.

      @t_woof · 13/04/2015 at 10:34

      Hey Nicholas,

Sloane or JPK are very good selections. Perhaps go with the one that best accompanies the second trade.

Decision may be made for you at the selection table if either Goodes or Cripps aren't named. Don't stress too much, and wait until Thursday's teams are announced.

Caz · 13/04/2015 at 02:28

Same dilemma for me ablett to Jpk and goodes to Oxley

shezza · 13/04/2015 at 04:32

I have traded Beams out for Sloane. I have all the good rookies and sticking With my structures. First trade for the year

    Marco_Polo94 · 13/04/2015 at 13:21

Be careful you're not just chasing points mate. Not to say it is a wrong trade, but just keep in mind why you selected beams in the first place. I've got him too and I haven't liked the look of him so far, but we just have to stick fat with our premiums and keep faith. If beams scores 150 this week and Sloane 100 you'll be kicking yourself.

      shezza · 13/04/2015 at 16:20

He will take time to adjust to Bris game plan and doesn’t have a key forward to pump the ball inside 50 on a big forwards head. No Rockliff might actually be hurting him

    Dean · 13/04/2015 at 22:35

Considering that's your only trade I think its a AWESOME trade even though I hate sideways trading premiums as it always bites me on the Ar$e.

If I didn't the GAJ problem which im trading out for Slone, id do the same thing as you as I also have beams.

LoopyHermit · 13/04/2015 at 05:17

Hey community. Need to trade ablett!!!
Was thinking G.Ablett -> D.Heppell
B.Goodes -> S.Docherty

Thinking that Heppell (and his hair) have seen the two best teams in the comp and have come up trumps. Surely that means when he plays some lesser squads he will rip right through them.

    Marco_Polo94 · 13/04/2015 at 13:22

Heppell statistically is one of the most consistent midfielders SuperCoach wise, solid selection.

Jacko · 13/04/2015 at 05:19

what trade seems better

1.out. M.johnson/ hibberd – in. Oxley

Out. Cripps- in. Lewis

2. Out. Goodes- in. Oxley

Out. Miller- in. Van berlo

    LoopyHermit · 13/04/2015 at 05:24

    number 2 for mine.

      randomcliche · 13/04/2015 at 09:37

      Agreed.corrective while keeping your structure.

    Cozza · 13/04/2015 at 10:23

Number 2 – Hibberd/Johnson would be guys you will be hoping can stay in your team for the year

Any love for an Ablett to Mundy trade as a POD?

    Conor · 13/04/2015 at 09:06

Love it, was thinking of bringing Mundy in at start of year but caved.

Mundy is in a top side and I believe that the tag will never come to him.

Bewick-Mcdonald/Rampe or any other ideas
Bewick-Oxley or any other ideas
Thsnks in Advance

    Cozza · 13/04/2015 at 10:25

Option 2. If you are upgrading, you would want to upgrade to a keeper, otherwise you waste a trade. Are you thinking McDonald or Rampe are keepers? If not, make it a corrective to Oxley

James · 13/04/2015 at 06:01

Simpson, kelly, Johnson

Newnes, Goodes, saad

Mcintosh, brown

Feel like I’ve spent too much on defence and not getting great outputs.. Should I drop one and upgrade a mid like miller or cripps

    Bloob · 13/04/2015 at 09:13

Goodes to Oxley and Miller to NVB

Luviboy1 · 13/04/2015 at 07:23

Who are my priority correctional trades? My rookies are Saad, Oxley, McIntosh, Goodes, Cripps, Heeney, Vandenberg, Ellis-Yolmen, Miller, Hogan, Salem, Lambert, Lonie,

Not sure about Scott Selwood either, if he isnt named this week, might have to get rid of him.

    Cozza · 13/04/2015 at 10:34

I wouldn't say any of them are priority, but if you were wanting to trade any I would say Goodes and Miller. Lambert is a possible trade if he injured his shoulder badly on the weekend.

That said, Goodes and Miller are still there or thereabouts. Miller has a BE of 4, so he still has money to make. NVB would be the one to go to imo. Goodes has a BE of 65 – he made 70 in the first week so he is a chance of making that. Concern is obviously the vest like he did last weekend. Problem is – who would you trade him to? You have the 3 rookies you need in the backline already and you will need cash to upgrade him.

      Cozza · 13/04/2015 at 10:35

Sorry – Goodes made 68 first week – still over his BE

dognino · 13/04/2015 at 07:38

As soon as lockout ended, GAJ out fyfe in . Also have Cripps , but he is only on my bench anyway, so happy to hold for another couple rounds to see if he gets a game, I've got all the good rookies and not real keen on NVB .

    Marco_Polo94 · 13/04/2015 at 13:27

Fyfe is a must. Having the C on him made my round somewhat decent. Not sure on NVB, atm it's going to be Cripps to Rich for me. Goodes can sit on the pine for now.

Rick Grimes · 13/04/2015 at 07:52

Thoughts on Shiel? Killing it against weakish opponents. Syd this week, team will lift for that. Don’t want to fall into trap of jumping on first bandwagon tho.

Also like Heppell.

    Marco_Polo94 · 13/04/2015 at 13:26

Shiel COULD continue to smash it, and he COULD be a magical selection. However if he drops off against stronger teams you'll be kicking yourself you didn't spend 50-100k more to get a proven ultra premium. I'm going to Sloane instead who I know will get the job done. Heppell is a very consistent midfielder and you can't really go wrong with him I don't think.

Leon · 13/04/2015 at 07:53

anyone taking byes into the equation, if so for me its a swans or giants premium…..

so which of these four? JPK, Parker, shiel or treloar….. leaning towards treloar or JPK…. but shield is tempting……

    Conor · 13/04/2015 at 08:53

JPK, Parker isn't peforming with a 99 and a 74 and shiel and treloar are to unreliable for mind.

      Cozza · 13/04/2015 at 10:39

Agree – JPK. Shiel would be next in line, although his average against his next few opponents is fairly ordinary – did get 117 against Sydney last year though.

      dognino · 13/04/2015 at 17:52

Can't go wrong with JPK, Parker not performing I would put down to buddy smashing his head in R1 , had 35 touches and cracked the ton by third qtr. r2 I reckon he ended up playin it safe whilst they had control of the game from early on.

BackYardPunter · 13/04/2015 at 07:54

G’day community what’s ya thoughts on Mitch Duncan can’t hold onto him for that price I was real hopeful I know watch him on the weekend he does not want a kick soft! Tough trade though no money to trade up so its sideways or down thoughts.
Held onto goldy = GUN

Jdogg · 13/04/2015 at 08:43

This might sound crazy but I am tossing up between Bont and Betts. He is spending a bit of time in the midfield and they have a great run for the next few weeks.

    Mike · 13/04/2015 at 09:33

    Yes, that does sound crazy.

General Soreness · 13/04/2015 at 08:58

Some great discussion on the Podcast gents. Will be very interested to see the major ins and outs this week.

Conor · 13/04/2015 at 09:00

Community thoughts on holding Gary for one more week if he plays??? Will drop 30-40k, but I feel that id rather trade Goodes to Oxley and Cripps to Rich, trading out ablett would leave 500k in the kitty in total, which is to much for mind

Thoughts Community

    SideBySidebottom · 13/04/2015 at 21:47

In a similar boat and likely to make a similar decision.

    Dean · 13/04/2015 at 22:48

Conor if you trade out GAJ you must trade him for a Elite premium such as Fyfe, Slone, JPK, Pendles or Wines so you wouldn't have 500k in the kitty unless your side is very ordinary.

If your willing to risk waiting one more week with GAJ then you may as well keep him providing he doesn't get rested.
For me risking $730k with a player who is seriously only 70% at best not to mention he could be rested at any stage is pointless.

Captain Pugwash · 13/04/2015 at 09:07

Hamling to Oxley – Trade 1

Miller – Lambert To Mid – Hogan – Trade 2

Still holding Sidebottom.

Is this a sound move?

    Nev · 13/04/2015 at 09:21

    Trade Sidebottom, out for 6-8

      I N Pieman · 13/04/2015 at 09:32

      Agreed Nev. Much too long

Nev · 13/04/2015 at 09:22

What to do with Tom Lamb community ?

    I N Pieman · 13/04/2015 at 09:32

Hang onto him. He will come back in

I N Pieman · 13/04/2015 at 09:25

Paid a huge price this week. Was busy with the kiddies & logged in a minute to late to shift Goodes to Oxley. 106 points lost. Ouch. And as much as an advocate I am for Gary I'm just a worried about his team as I am about him. Back to back losses to Melb & St Kilda is terrible.

    Tom · 13/04/2015 at 09:41

Same as me Pieman. Have you seen the banner on the right of screen for "footy alerts" sending you a notification of all subs before their games? Could be a saviour.

      I N Pieman · 13/04/2015 at 10:06

Ill be checking that out Tom. Those 106 points would have led to a very good round score.

        SideBySidebottom · 14/04/2015 at 11:21

The illicit drugs issue may be having a negative impact.

    Donavan · 13/04/2015 at 10:04

Must re-assess your priorities Pieman, seriously it's footy season, time to send a message to the kiddies….lol

    Sc newby · 13/04/2015 at 10:32

Cost me to pieman, pure luck of Brisbane and beams getting slaughted won me my league match (by 2 points mind you) work on Saturdays is gonna be a killer for me
Gaz is a major concern, not interested in winning the pill hopefully comes good around the byes

nbro2 · 13/04/2015 at 09:32

Should I trade Ablett to Sloane or Shiel?

Then should I trade….

Nelson or Miller to Van Berlo

Or Ibbo to Hooker

Please help.

    Mike · 13/04/2015 at 09:46

    Miller to VB
    Ablett to Sloane
Though I have no idea who Nelson is, but if he’s not had a game yet you’d have to consider. But if he’s due one soon he could hardly go worse than Miller.

      Cozza · 13/04/2015 at 10:43

Is that Jackson Nelson from WCE? If it is, unless he is named this week I would trade him to NVB – Miller has a BE of 4 so at least he will make you some money. Nelson is not making you anything with his DNP scores.

      Agree Ablett to Sloane.

Leave the Ibbo to Hooker trade – Hooker burnt people last year with a great start and slow finish.

        Marco_Polo94 · 13/04/2015 at 13:32

Hooker would have got bulk points for the game winning goal too, which definitely won't happen every week. Wasn't that like his 8th goal in 113 games?

Tom · 13/04/2015 at 09:43

Which defensive rookie do i bring in? I already have McIntosh, Saad and Oxley.

Could I bring in someone to use for the emergency loophole? If so who.

Is there any rookies who could get game time later in the season eg Goddard?

    Donavan · 13/04/2015 at 09:58

Think Goddard and Hamling will both get their opportunities.

I think Hamling may be closer to selection.

Donavan · 13/04/2015 at 09:52

Cripps to Rich or Van Berlo. Either player is for cash generation purposes only, not keepers.

I'm leaning towards Van Berlo and keeping the $170k in the war chest.

Appreciate the communities thoughts.

    SCaddict · 13/04/2015 at 11:17

For maximum cash generation and war chest I'd go NVB. He's well down on the Crows pecking order for opposition attention but should still score his 75-85 given the Crows form and favourable draw.

There's always the risk that oppositions sit someone on Rich given that damaging left foot which could mute his scoring in the coming weeks.

      Marco_Polo94 · 13/04/2015 at 13:53

Rich looks like value and a half atm with his output. This is the same toss up I have atm and I've still got no clue

Charlesy · 13/04/2015 at 09:59

Hi Pieman and community, some of you will already have it but there is a free app called Footy alerts which you can grab. It gives you great info regarding every teams starting bench, late selection changes and who is sub. I only just discovered it. Hope this helps you all.

    I N Pieman · 13/04/2015 at 10:33

Thanks Charlesy. Weekends are usually busy. Keeping up with rolling lockouts can be tough. I need a solution for it so this sounds like it. Thanks again.

Kevin · 13/04/2015 at 10:05

Bewick to Oxley, docherty or Pittard

Ablett to Barlow, lewis, wine or sloane

I've got 1.2 million, who should I get ??

josh · 13/04/2015 at 10:34

hi community, need your help with some tough decisions

at the moment my thoughts are
trade goodes to oxley
trade ryder (forward line) to bontempelli
but then i have the issue of GAJ, thinking of trading to fyfe but its just im not sure whats more important at the moment.
also not sure what to do with cripps… do i go to van berlo?

please, help would be great

    Jdogg · 13/04/2015 at 10:51

Ablett out and Fyfe in is priority 1 there and then Bont would be second but not essential as I think Ryder is fine. Oxley is a good selection (I have him) but I doubt he is going to throw that type of score up on a regular basis.

      Marco_Polo94 · 13/04/2015 at 13:54

Dunno with collingwoods performances so far their defenders will be getting a lot of the ball aha!

Andy · 13/04/2015 at 10:42

Hey Community,

Is anyone considering trading Mumford to NicNat? I know it’s early but NicNat is looking good for under 500k. The argue about the rucks not scoring high was contradicted on the weekend with Goldy and Jacobs scoring big so I’m unsure what to do. My other ruck is Goldy.

Also, NVB or Wallis?

Thanks and good luck for the year.

    Holty · 13/04/2015 at 13:04

NVB for me but dont get to hasty with the rucks. In my opinion, Mumford will be a top 4 ruckmen by seasons end so dont think you should waste that trade. Plus Mumford did score 108 on the weekend and only had 4 at quarter time.
I have him and I'll keep him as I doubt there will be many rucks that will have that same scoring capabilities as him

    Marco_Polo94 · 13/04/2015 at 13:55

Hold mummy I think. He scored 97 points in 3 quarters on the weekend.

Cozza · 13/04/2015 at 10:48

$1.2million!! Originally I was thinking upgrade Bewick to a keeper because that is too much money to have sitting in your bank. However, if you don't have Oxley he is worth getting in – will generate some nice cash in the next few weeks and you can use the cash to make some nice upgrades in the next few weeks. Ablett to Sloane.

Cozza · 13/04/2015 at 10:54

Hi community, tossing up no trades or two correctives this week. Issues are Ablett, Goodes and Wells. Have Cripps, but if he is named I'm happy to sit on him. Have all of the rookies that you need. Thinking Ablett to JPK/Sloane and Wells to NVB/Wallis (probably Wallis).

My mids are hurting me – have Ablett, Fyfe, Lewis, Swallow, Wells, Rich, Heeney, Vandenberg on field with CEY, Miller and Cripps on bench.

Are those trades too sideways or worth the cost?

Bobby · 13/04/2015 at 10:57

Should I get rid of ablett or keep him

    juddsbaldhead · 13/04/2015 at 11:06

Bang bang, he has to go. Nat fyfe, Rory Sloane. Personally I started the season with both and I'm very happy

    SCaddict · 13/04/2015 at 11:07

He has to go mate. If you hang on to him he looks set to lose anywhere from $100K to $200K.

Whilst that is only a paper loss if you keep him the problem will come if Rocket eventually gives him a month off to properly recover and then you'll be forced to trade him at that point and you will then have far fewer options than you do right now.

juddsbaldhead · 13/04/2015 at 11:04

KK to Docherty? Anyone feel ing it? I started the season with saad and Oxley on my bench so I'm thinking of taking KK up

@TylerCArmstrong · 13/04/2015 at 11:08

For those who are trading out Ablett, will you be trading him back in?

    Cozza · 13/04/2015 at 11:15

Yes – if he returns to decent output. However, if bringing him back in will do so at a much reduced price – expecting somewhere around the $550k – $600k mark. Will make it a lot easier to bring him back in and have saved $150k or so in the meantime.

    B-Mac · 13/04/2015 at 11:30

Not the way he's going at present. He's playing like an old mole. Won't tackle, won't go and get his own ball = won't score well.

IMO, there are now plenty of others who put their hand…no, two hands up for selection, unlike poor old Gaz who can only manage one.

Unless his absolute confidence returns, he won't be in the top 20 players come season end.

Kim · 13/04/2015 at 11:13

I'm one of the lucky few to have not had to trade yet, and see no REAL corrective trades for my team, I have all the rooks and a nice average. However Beams….

Beams doesn't seem to have a 620k output with the sub-par surroundings he's now working in.

As I have no other trades to make, do you think a sideways trade to a Sloane/Pendles is still a bad call?

    I N Pieman · 13/04/2015 at 11:40

Well done on your sections Kim. Beams is a quality player. Just had a bad day. I don't think it's necessary. If that's the worst of your problems your sitting pretty & keep those trades for later.

sealion · 13/04/2015 at 11:19

Fair dinkum, that podcast was hilarious…and confirmed what I was thinking about Ablett. Community, I'm living on the other side of the planet in South America so would love some advice for those living closer to the beautiful footy grounds of Australia!

So like most people, I'm going to trade out Gary Jnr. and looking at bringing in Sloane. If I do this I could bring in Alex Rance for Ibbotson because I really like the look of Rance and think his price is going to go up a fair bit in coming weeks.

BUT…Bonts and Wallace are going to make a lot of punters heaps of coin this week so other option is to keep Ibbotson and trade Cripps for Wallace as a stepping stone to ultra premium as well as the Ablett/Sloane trade.

So basically it's a choice between Rance or Wallace??? Appreciate any advice!

    juddsbaldhead · 13/04/2015 at 15:24

Doggies have had a soft draw and won both there games, wait till they play a team and need to tag, Wallis is the perfect tagger I'd worry on that note. I'm looking at rance also

      sealion · 14/04/2015 at 11:16

Thanks mate, good advice re Wallace.

Matt · 13/04/2015 at 11:21

Already have Saad, Mcintosh and Oxley in DEF, do I downgrade Goodes to Brown then upgrade Miller to van Berlo?

    I N Pieman · 13/04/2015 at 11:30

Don't mind that move Matt. Brown is purely insurance. If goodes cops the vest again he's leaking cash. Which for a cheap mid pricer is no good. Miller's scoring isn't flash & neither is his JS. NVB on the bubble needs to be considered.

      Matt · 13/04/2015 at 11:59

Would Hamling or H. Goddard be better options? Would allow me to loophole in DEF too.

Hotplates · 13/04/2015 at 11:25

Like most here getting rid of Gaz –

Options are:
1) Sloane/Lewis + Miller to NVB
2) Lewis + TBC to Bont

Thinking option 1 with Lewis as already have Danger and CEY in mids, plus Smith – not overly keen on having 5 Adelaide players. Plus Lewis the bets mid in best side in comp.

Also want to keep TBC as swing player, cover for rucks – and don't know if Bont will keep up that output to be a top 8 fwd.

    Holty · 13/04/2015 at 12:51

My opinion is the Bonts is a gun. He will get the tag and maybe the occasional low score but he will be in the top 8 forwards come seasons end. FYI, he was tagged in the first game and was still one of the best.

Lach · 13/04/2015 at 11:27

Would it be too much having Sloan, Danger and Ellis-Yolman in the centre? Bit worried if Adelaide have a poor game it would effect my SC scoring.

    I N Pieman · 13/04/2015 at 11:46

At home to Melb this week no worries.

    @OssieTerron · 13/04/2015 at 11:58

I have Sloan, Danger, Ellis-Yolman & thinking about Lambert to VanBerlo as well… Adelaide in good form &both rookies will generate good $$$

    Lach · 13/04/2015 at 12:55

Thanks guys, trading God to Sloan and thinking maybe Cripps to Rich. May change my mind 10x before Friday's game

Sana · 13/04/2015 at 11:50

There's been a few comments about Dayne Beams, I'm also concerned. Whilst he isn't playing injured, he is possibly about to bleed a similar amount of cash to Ablett. Clearly didn't enjoy the tag with Rockliff and Hanley out. For those advocating an Ablett trade, would you suggest similar for Beams?

    T.J · 13/04/2015 at 11:55

I agree with you as well. Will be interesting to see how he goes this week

    nick · 14/04/2015 at 15:51

I have say this dayne beems used get all the ball at the pies as of swan pendles mcaffe no tag on him and know has gone to a shocking team

G · 13/04/2015 at 12:03

Jock Higo crouching

I have goldy and Maric in ruck. What are your thoughts on downgrading maric to Bellchambers and using the extra cash to upgrade Cripps or Goodes in the back line ?

Love to know your thoughts

Love the podcasts

Matt · 13/04/2015 at 12:27

Hi community, here is my dilemma.

Hold GAJ and trade cripps to vanders or

GAJ to Sloan and miller/krakouer to vanders.

    Lach · 13/04/2015 at 12:59

Another option may be GAJ to Sloan, Cripps to Rich.

      Matt · 13/04/2015 at 13:17

I’m about 15k short of being able to go cripps to rich

        Matt · 13/04/2015 at 14:17

Alternatively I could trade GAJ to lewis and then cripps to rich

You BloodyRippa · 13/04/2015 at 12:28

Another GAJ question…… Iam in 2 minds here.
1. DON'T mess with my structures. Trade GAJ for another elite, eg Sloan. Then swap Cripps out for another cash generator, eg NVB (I have all the other mid cash cows).
2. Trade out GAJ and Cripps as planned, then bring Bont and Swan in. I would see them both as fwd line keepers that can sit in the mids until a slot opens in my fwd line. That way, I gain 2 players who I see as keepers before the price rises.

Which is the better option?

don · 13/04/2015 at 12:35

Thinking of trading gaz for Sloane, JPK or Lewis or maybe even Wines. Thoughts please

    ToneStar · 14/04/2015 at 09:07

    JPK easily.

General Soreness · 13/04/2015 at 12:45

As the General, thought I would chuck in some General advice. Players can only lose cash if/when you trade them out. Therefore people trading premo's out before the "price drop" consider why you picked them in the first place, has anything changed other than 1 or 2 below par scores, would you be trading them if you were guaranteed they would score at their average next week? Is the person your trading to on the back of 1 or 2 good scores, why didnt you pick them in the first place, what has changed other than the scores. For mine, GAJ is the only trade out premo. Presuming you are not holding Sidebum or Rocky from last week. The rest are HOLDs!

    I N Pieman · 13/04/2015 at 12:57

Spoken like a man who doesn't have Gary lol

      throttlefinger · 13/04/2015 at 19:58

Ahhh, the warnings General and I gave you, Pieman. Only to be laughed at and attacked with memes. Oh how the worm has turned…

      throttlefinger · 13/04/2015 at 19:58

But you do know I love ya, buddy.

    throttlefinger · 13/04/2015 at 19:57

And yet, still considering tossing Beams for Sloane. Was on the fence (yes, yes, same ol' Griff story). No correctives in my other lines other than Cripps. So why not treat myself to a vanity trade? Get it out of ye merry ol' system.

But wise words, General. Even though I may not end of following them. Ha.

      Dee · 13/04/2015 at 21:13

Is it okay to HOLD Gazza?

        throttlefinger · 13/04/2015 at 21:42

Sure, it's okay to hold Gaz. If you think chances are he'll recover and regain Gazza form, then keep. Suffer through a couple rounds of value pummeling with hopes he turns it around in a round or two.

My opinion is that he doesn't look even near 100% form. At best will return to form around the byes. Worse case, he's a 110 scorer for the year.

Don't worry about burning trades in this matter. You have 30 and this is a critical decision that can help build your team for the finals run. As Gaz has earned a right to make you believe that he's good enough for R1, he's also good enough that when he is ready, he's worth 2 trades to bring back in.

          The Ranger · 13/04/2015 at 22:20

          Spot on General.
Correctional trades in the rookie department are the most important thing this week in my humble opinion.
Hamling is getting the flick for Oxley and then I have to weigh up who to ditch from Sheed, Cripps, Miller, Lonie and Lamb, none of whom are featuring on the arousal curve.
Leaning towards Miller for Vandenberg but tempted by Hogan for his better job security.

SCOTLAND THE BRAVE · 13/04/2015 at 12:50

This SC caper is crazy. After two weeks Sloane has gone from a POD to a must have and Ablett had gone from a must have to a POD! Gotta luv it.

Mac · 13/04/2015 at 12:51

What are peoples thought on Beams, seems to be struggling

    I N Pieman · 13/04/2015 at 12:58

He's not impeded by injury so HOLD. He will come good.

    Tylo · 13/04/2015 at 21:33

Rocky out will be hurting him

Mitchy · 13/04/2015 at 12:59

GAJ–>Lewis or other premo (I have Sloane, Fyfe, Bont, Griffen)

Cripps–> NVB or Rich or Wallis

This is what im thinking great to have some feedback 🙂

    Mitchy · 13/04/2015 at 13:01

Still have B. Goodes that im thinking to trade out (have Oxley, saad and Mcintosh)

Ty · 13/04/2015 at 13:03

Hey Community, Need some help on options.. Also is 2229 a good score for round 2 considering I had Brayshaw and Clarke on field…

My team right now is:

Def: Shaw , Newnes , Hibberd , Ibbo , McIntosh , Saad , Goodes and Hamling

Mid: Gary , Fyfe , Pendles , Wines , Beams , Ellis Yolmen , Heeny , Vandenberg , Brayshaw , Miller and Lambert

Ruck: Goldy , Bellchambers , Read

Forward: Bont , Martin , Gray , Swan , Hogan , Salem , Clark , Lamb

My trades this week were going to be Gary to Sloane and Goodes to Oxley thoughts?

I am very worried about Beams because he is copping a heavy tag….. Who should I play on field rookies wise this week? Cheers

    Dingo · 13/04/2015 at 13:42

Good team but I would trade GAJ to Sloane or similar premium and use cash to improve your M5 by bringing in NVB or Rich, otherwise leave as is. 2229 very good score especially while your nurturing a number of rookies into cash cows.

      Dingo · 13/04/2015 at 13:43

      Should be M6

        Beams · 13/04/2015 at 17:30

Why? Rookie mids are outscoring all other lines at the moment. With similar point generation in smith, bont, gray, laird etc in the other lines it makes more sense to have more rookie mids.

Mike · 13/04/2015 at 13:18

Do I need both rich and van berlo? If not which one would i be better off with?

    ToneStar · 14/04/2015 at 09:02

I don't see Rich as a keeper, NVB will make you good $$$ later and save you $$$ now…

TRIGGER HAPPY · 13/04/2015 at 13:45

Isn’t it funny not one mention of trading Griffen this week? A week is a long time in footy. For those who stuck fat u were rewarded and saved a trade those who didn’t was the trade really worth it? Always trust your instincts.

    randomcliche · 13/04/2015 at 14:09

Dusty Swallow and more! Watch Cripps belt it this week….

      The Filth · 13/04/2015 at 16:13

Cripps can only “belt it out” if:
      (1) He plays
& (2) Malthouse plays him in the guts as an in-and-under mid (like he was in the NAB) instead of a forward.

Seriously thinking Cripps to NVB or Rich.

        randomcliche · 13/04/2015 at 16:24

Thanks Filth. I should have chosen more wisely in my analogy…Minson maybe? Anyways you just made day much better by convincing me that Cripps must go. Wells and Miller live to fight another day. Until your next post no doubt. Thanks again!

          The Filth · 13/04/2015 at 17:22

Ooh…didn’t know you also have Wells!
Good luck to you RC on whatever you decide to do.

Dingo · 13/04/2015 at 13:48

Community, trading GAJ to Sloane and thinking of Cripps to either NVB or CEY. Will CEY generate more cash for me? – I hesitate to go for another mid-pricer as I already have Rich at M6.

Any thoughts?

Ando · 13/04/2015 at 13:54

Goodes into T.Hunt and Maric into Goldy. Thoughts anybody
I know i should've had goldy from the start.

    randomcliche · 13/04/2015 at 14:11

Goldilocks is getting into many beds this season.

    Motsy · 13/04/2015 at 14:50

Hunt is a trap and will not be consistent as can be seen already, I would consider Laird over him with Adelaide's run in to the byes. You want consistency on a cash generator.

In saying that I would avoid players at this price range completely in DEF this year and downgrade if I were you.

      Ando · 13/04/2015 at 16:10

I reckon Hunt's got a bit more to show still though. Admittedly he was quiet this week but he still holds a spot in the midfield and will based on that alone get more of the pill than most other backs

Riley · 13/04/2015 at 14:44

Is four players from same team too many in one position? Started with Danger and CEY and last week when Cripps was late out I quickly moved him on to NVB. Looking at Gazza and I reckon a downgrade to Sloane is my best option. I am just unsure if 4 Adelaide players in the mid is too many? Looking to move CEY and NVB on around rd 6-9 when they have generated cash so I will only have 2 come byes.

All thoughts appreciated!

Thanks Riley 🙂

    randomcliche · 13/04/2015 at 16:51

If Adelaide keep averaging 1878 points per game it will be a stroke of genius. Each of those players are justifiable in their own right. Sloane + Danger shouldn’t be a problem. Many teams have run Swan and Pendles successfully for years.

    Cezza93 · 13/04/2015 at 18:30

I highly doubt you will have CEY and NVB still in by the byes mate. Run them now, watch them grow, cherish them. By round 7-8 whip out the axe and bloody slaughter em $$$.

    BomberSam · 13/04/2015 at 19:54

Absolutely not Riley! Just look at Freo on the weekend… Fyfe (162), Mundy (150), Hill (136) and Barlow (136).

    nick · 14/04/2015 at 15:48

have a look at the byes if u have a lot of players missing in your midfield u might get a bad score in the bye round

    nick · 14/04/2015 at 15:50

and I agree with cezza those players will be out come the bye rounds for big time players etc

lolattack · 13/04/2015 at 15:51

what does everyone think about these trades?

goodes -> oxley
cripps -> k. jack (had 562,200 to spend on a premium midfielder)

Kevin · 13/04/2015 at 16:00

Hey guys, heres my team

DEF: Hibbo, Newnes, Hurns, McIntosh, Saad, Bewick (Goodes, N.Brown)
MID: Ablett, Fyfe, Jobe, Griffen, Swallow, Ellis-Yolmen, Vandenberg, Heeney (Anderson, Cripps, Miller)
RUCK: Goldstein, Bellchambers (Cox)
FWD: Gray, Goddard, Deledio,Swan, Hogan, Clark (Lamb, Lambert)

I'm looking to trade Ablett for a Sloane or a Lewis etc.
Also looking to trade Bewick to Oxley or upgrade to Docherty or McGovern.
Thoughts ??? cheers 🙂

    randomcliche · 13/04/2015 at 16:54

    Pendles/sloan and Oxley for mine.

    cow roll · 13/04/2015 at 18:06

Ablett to Sloane as he's harder to tag than Lewis
Berwick to Oxlley. McGovern's role can change rapidly so his scoring is risky

Tuk · 13/04/2015 at 16:16

Dear JR Community,
Thoughts on these 2 trades;
1. K Kolodjashnij —> A Rance
2. P Cripps —> J McGrath (Lions FWD Rookie) – via DPP.

Thanks in advance.
I know the week is only young and will change my mind multiple times before lockout. Just thought I'd put it to the community.

Nickdon4 · 13/04/2015 at 16:28

Gonna get rid of ablett for fyfe and bring in oxley for dalgleish. To buy back gazza in 4 weeks should I use swallow. I will have 100k left over so it should be safe

Willy · 13/04/2015 at 16:38

Jock & crew, a lot of time was spent in the podcast on correctional rookie trades this week. Although not a rookie Nathan Brown's price is certainly in that section. His poor 34 seems like a score his will score for most of the year. Is it worth trading him down to Oxley?

Thanks guys, terrific podcast again.

    Swans2012 · 13/04/2015 at 19:48

Yep, reckon that’s a good trade

mart · 13/04/2015 at 16:44

ablett- shiel

Goodes- Smith

    jimmy · 13/04/2015 at 16:45

good idea! shiel = gun + money

NickyV · 13/04/2015 at 16:45

G'day Community! I may be wrong but what I got from this podcast and reading everyones comments is that we must make two trades this week. One trade being GAJ to either a 300k or 580k-660k, the other being a corrective trade. The corrective trade will be either getting one of the must needed rookies or trading out someone to get in a rich, wallis or van berlo type. Am I correct? Cheers Community!

    Lach · 13/04/2015 at 21:08

yeah mate but are you a shark or in the shoal?

Rick · 13/04/2015 at 17:02

Salem to Bellchambers/Melksham. Or cripps to rich

    The Filth · 13/04/2015 at 18:09

Why would you trade Salem? He will make you 200k+ as as cash cow rookie.
Cripps to Rich is a good trade, of course it depends on what other priorities there are for your team.

    BennyGan · 13/04/2015 at 21:36

Definitely keep Salem, TBC wont make much cash, cant see him averaging much more than 70. So if you are gonna make one of those moves I'd do the Cripps to Rich.

Dee · 13/04/2015 at 19:02

I'm thinking of keeping Ablett and not trading him out this week…… Is that insane?

Jimmy · 13/04/2015 at 19:47

Is it worth getting rid of kade k? And if so who, BE of 90

Dripps · 13/04/2015 at 20:05

Goodes – Oxley then later trade jack Steven up to gary Ablett once fallen in price

jmy7 · 13/04/2015 at 20:06

great listen jock, higgo, crouching
FRANK and community, would love your thoughts
ok, so im going to get rid of ablett, pocket the money,
then is it more important to go cripps > van berlo
or kk/thumper > t.mcdonald

    Pom · 16/04/2015 at 10:25

Im in the same spot. Though mines a Bewick not a thumper. Was looking at mcdonald and the st kilda bloke Bruce as his BE is -50 or something ridiculous. Can squeeze in Rance too. Cripps wont drop coin this week so I reckon more important to ship out dud defender.

billyt · 13/04/2015 at 20:09

GAJ -> Mundy

Cripps -> Rich

uda · 13/04/2015 at 20:10

PENDLES has had ankle scans!!!!

    @randomcliche · 13/04/2015 at 23:43

Good man uda. Thanks for the heads up. Also of significance, Wells Achilles scan. If named stays in team, if not….hmmm

Redgumwon · 13/04/2015 at 20:11

I've got GAJ but I'm going to hold him. However I am looking at two options

Option 1. Trade out A Swallow & Cripps for Sloane and McGrath (Bris) then move Lambert to the midfield and McGrath goes forward.

Option 2. Trade Maric & Cripps for Goldy and McGrath (Bris) and move Lambert to the midfield.

What do you guys think?

Ryan · 13/04/2015 at 20:29

With 100k left I can go ablett to bont… Move him to fwd for lambert and then I can trade cripps for basically anyone I want… Should I got the money making option by getting rich or VB or get a premo and if ablett to bont a good idea

Rascal · 13/04/2015 at 20:30

Cripps -> Van Berlo

Gavin · 13/04/2015 at 20:49

Gaz out for J.P Kennedy — Cripps out for Rich

Ty · 13/04/2015 at 22:17

Hey Community, Last week I traded Crips to Brayshaw when I could have waited one week to get Van Berlo . It did not work out with a score of 32….. But it allowed me to trade Gary to Sloane and Goodes to Oxley this week Thoughts?

Dean · 13/04/2015 at 22:25

Pointless keeping him. Why keep a 730k player who is struggling to score 110 and has only played Melbourne & Saints thus far.

I seriously once he starts playing the better sides he will either be rested or they will put him in the half forward so his out put will be allot less.

His price is way to high for the risk.

3. votes · 13/04/2015 at 22:46

which rookie should I get out first, Cockatoo or cripps and should I downgrade Goodes to Cripps?

Redd · 13/04/2015 at 23:45

Ranked in top 1% @ 1178 and in top 60 in Jocks sc group traded out GAJ for JPK as i already have fyfe sloan lewis not sure if i should trade cripps to NVB cripps isnt gonna cost me any NVB up 70k this week or salem to the Bont worried if he can continue form or fasolo to T.Mcdonald again dont wanna jump on a bandwagon any of those 3 any1 think are worthwhile?

ToneStar · 14/04/2015 at 08:57

Thoughts on this trade…
I’m downgrading Ablett to Gray. Remove Lambert, switch Gray to forward line and then put up NVB in the mids… I have nailed all rookies apart from NVB…
Correct rookies now, makes a stronger team later…
Bonts looks tempting, but I can’t see him giving me good scores at the pointy end of the season, where it matters most… Reasons, I can’t see Bullies keeping this up and he is a second year player… Strong teams will figure him out…

Nick · 14/04/2015 at 09:16

Wild love your thoughts lads, trading Ablett to Fyfe and Goodes to either laird or hunt??? Wild really love your feedback

Jay · 14/04/2015 at 10:21

Seriously considering trading out Joel Selwood, his BE over 200 and Not much support in the Geelong team as previous years, predicting that he will no longer be acceptable as a super premium this year. Convince me otherwise please before I do something stupid!!!

    Blueprime · 14/04/2015 at 16:00

Selwood will be a top ten mid by finals time. Not that difficult to work out whether to trade him out or not.

      UDA · 14/04/2015 at 17:01

No support for pendles but still does the job for. Dont worry about super premos

    derek · 16/04/2015 at 14:27

148 Bownlow votes over the last 7 years! Welcome.

@SeanySamp · 14/04/2015 at 11:46

Great podcast fellas!
What does the community think: Is it worth trading Cripps to Van Berlo? This would be my only trade for the week.

George · 14/04/2015 at 12:19

Should I go Ablett to Lewis or sloane ?

    George · 14/04/2015 at 12:22

And should I trade goodes to Brodie smith or McDonald ?

      derek · 16/04/2015 at 14:17

Smith Yes if he is well enough to play this week. McDonald you are chasing last weeks scores.

    George · 14/04/2015 at 12:25

Or even laird for goodes ?

    derek · 16/04/2015 at 14:16

I would take Sloane ahead of Lewis. I'm a big Hawks fan, and I'm surprised at how well Lewis has scored in SC, I keep waiting for his scoring to fall. Sloane I'd be a little worried about Thompson's return, might take a few points away from Sloane, but he has been super consistent.

Don · 14/04/2015 at 13:06

Ablett to d.sheil Goodes to Oxley the. Later trade to gary from jack Steven and hopefully have a shit load of cash left over. Thoughts?

Zac · 14/04/2015 at 13:10

Ablett to either Lewis or Mundy
and Cripps to Rich

CVT · 14/04/2015 at 14:35

This whole gary situation has given me an idea. I’m not sure whether to use the extra cash to upgrade lycett into the bont(I know it’s risky, but he would average 90 at least) or whether to upgrade lycett into nic Nat and set my ruck for the rest of the year.
So basically lycett->bont or lycett->nic Nat
Or am I rushing into this trade?

    derek · 16/04/2015 at 14:12

both trades too sideways for me. not really getting much more scoring output. I would hold trades

Charlesy · 14/04/2015 at 15:10

Community, our decision has been made for us. Gazza is out ‘indefinitely’ as reported on sen today. Even if it’s only a week or two, it’s a lot of cash to wait for Gary’s return, especially when he may take a while to start scoring well again. Our only decision now is who to replace him with. I’ve got Fyfe Lewis Pendles Selwood so for me it’s jpk or Sloane. I’m not sure if I trust Bont yet!

Tofor · 14/04/2015 at 17:18

Lamb -> Hogan
Goodes -> Smedts

Both the latter two are on the bubble, have better Job Security and likely to increase faster than the first two.

Is this a worthwhile trade, or waste of trades. Love to hear your thoughts?
An alternative for Smedts? Max Price 239k.
I have McKintosh, Oxley, Brown, Saad in defence already.
Forward rookies: Salem, Mitch Clarke, Lonie.

Among others, have Cripps and Sheed in the midfield which are a concern.. I could downgrade one of them?
I have vandenberg, heeney, Ellis Yolmen, Rich already.

Or should i Just sit on trades for now?

    Tofor · 14/04/2015 at 17:20

Any thoughts on Jackson Ramsay and Jed Bews as well?

Pitch · 14/04/2015 at 20:28

Gaj – Sloane, Lewy – Nic Nat,
Not putting up with shite scores like the 27 dished out on sunday…

    Filthy · 16/04/2015 at 19:09

Neither are the Lions apparently….Leunberger dropped this week.

Vic City · 16/04/2015 at 02:07

What's the best option this week community?

Goodes -> B. Smith
Cripps -> Shiel/Rich?

    Vic City · 16/04/2015 at 02:25

Edit: Alternatively Cripps to NvB should leave me enough to do Goodes -> Smith next week

      derek · 16/04/2015 at 12:53

I'd hold off on the Smith trade, not sure he will play this week.

Gary who? · 16/04/2015 at 07:12

Ok Jock I love the site and the work your crew do, but if 45% of ppl have gary, that means the majority of ppl DONT have gary…basically all articles this week are saying the same thing about what do with Gary – seems fairly lazy to me or not quite planned out properly. Would rather see some different issues discusses in more detail.
Not trying to flame, just giving some constructive feedback from someone who doesnt have Gary (why anyone would pay over $700k for an underdone injured player is beyond me, i thought our community had more supercoach nouce than that), and can see its a pretty basic solution to trade him to a premium if you do have him.
Thanks Jock

Luke · 16/04/2015 at 08:27

Hi Community,
Couple of questions here. After having JPK in my team the whole preseason, I decided to go to Parker last minute, the exact same thing happened last year. Parker in my team all preseason, last minute got sucked up in all the Mitchell hype, and swapped him to Mitchell!
Anyway, having picked probably the 3 most underperforming mids to date in Ablett, Beams, and Parker(albeit injury affected both games I feel), my team has struggled through the first 2 rounds with 2000, then 2154 points respectively.
Having got most of the rookies right, excepting Oxley, I am tossing up on 2 different sets of trades.

Ablett -> Mundy with Cripps -> Bont, swinging Lambert on to the pine in the mids and Bont on ground in the forwards. Should equal more points with medium cash generation and I feel 2 keepers.
Ablett -> Sloane and Goodes -> Oxley for the cash generation. 1 Keeper, 1 cash cow.

I was going to leave Ablett in this week and get 2 rookies in for cash gen, but my premo mids are just not pulling their weight at this stage, excepting Fyfe.

    derek · 16/04/2015 at 09:46

    option 2 for mine

    Frank · 16/04/2015 at 13:53

Mundy has had consistency issues forever. His ceiling is high but his floor is low. Option 2 for me also. Option 1 is still valid but it is a case of risk vs reward. From memory Mundy has always had a niggle which may be the reason for his low 100's averages. With no real chance of being tagged it may be his year to shine. Being over 500 behind it may be a risk worth taking. I'm taking a risk this week also by going Haynes and Goodes -> Shiel and Tex. Hopefully it doesn't burn me. Whichever you choose hope it works for you.

derek · 16/04/2015 at 12:58

the first two weeks it has been a case of a power forward kicking a bag of goals. First it was Tex, then is was Kennedy. I hate to even mention it, but what do you think of Travis's chances tomorrow against the saints? I have him in my team (that was my big Shark move). I was $300 short in getting the Bont….oh well. He might pay me back Friday night, won't put the VC on Pendlebury because of his injury, but might go VC on the million dollar man.

    Frank · 16/04/2015 at 13:55

I have him in Moneyball for that reason…(am I allowed to talk about that here?)

    SideBySidebottom · 16/04/2015 at 16:22

Assuming your captain is dependable you could afford to take a huge risk on your vice captain. It probably won't pay off but if it does, happy days.

    Squawking_Hawk · 16/04/2015 at 18:43

Only concern is the pies depleted midfield. Is Cloke going to see enough ball and then is it going to be decent ball. I would steer clear of Cloke

Corey · 16/04/2015 at 13:40

would brodie grundy be a good pick up?

    derek · 16/04/2015 at 14:01

I would put TBC ahead of grundy at the moment, but he seems cheap and a reasonable option.

Witts should be back soon, so maybe he will score less?

jim · 16/04/2015 at 14:14

JPK for parker?
Rory sloane for parker?
dylan shiel for griff?

    Derek · 16/04/2015 at 15:20

    No no no

      CashCows · 16/04/2015 at 17:46

I'm with Derek on this one!

        Squawking_Hawk · 16/04/2015 at 18:39

Agreed why are you wasting trades on side swapping premiums with very little point difference and form exposure

Mac · 16/04/2015 at 15:44

Cripps to Krakouer? He got elevated?

    CashCows · 16/04/2015 at 16:58

Use as a downgrade target later on when one of your cows has fattened up

Dean · 16/04/2015 at 15:58

Kennedy or Sloane?

    CashCows · 16/04/2015 at 17:08

    flip a coin…JPK for me

Luviboy1 · 16/04/2015 at 16:00

S.Selwood and Cripps -> Bont and NVB
S.Selwood and Goodes -> Wines and H.Goddard

BundyBear · 16/04/2015 at 16:06

What people think of Heppel ?

    SideBySidebottom · 16/04/2015 at 16:25

    I don't think of Heppell.

CashCows · 16/04/2015 at 16:53

So problems just like most..any help would be fanbloodytastic

I have GAJ and S.Selwood with pendles and cripps ( hopefully these fellas will get up) and 68k warchest 30 trades

I was thinking maybe a double down of GAJ/SSelwood to Vandenburg/Hogan with a DPP swing, this would only be for cash generation but burns a couple of trades.

The next would be to keep structures to a fyfe or sloane (ablett) and rich/ NVB/Vandenburg (SSelwood)
or possibly go something like fyfe and mundy?

My mid setup is GAJ,JPK,Pendles,Lewis,Griffin,SSelwood,Cripps,CEY,Heeney, J.Nelson, T.miller?

Any thoughts would be great..

Shezza · 16/04/2015 at 17:47

My mids are: Fyfe Beams JPK Parker Griffen Ellis -yolmen Heeney Anderson Cripps Krakoeur

I have 30 trades.Am thinking of trading Beams, should I? Thinking of Sloane or Lewis. Should I trade or just wait? I got over 2200 last week.

dean · 16/04/2015 at 17:57

Hmm, confused as to what to do,
TBC > bont
Goodes > oxley
Goodes > oxley
Krakor(0) > NVB
banks 200k~

    dean · 16/04/2015 at 17:58

Actually both leave me with same cash in bank.

      Steve · 16/04/2015 at 18:15

Think Krak is named for this week

        Derek · 16/04/2015 at 19:00

I liked having Kracker as a swinging loophole. He is named this week

Rawkus11 · 16/04/2015 at 17:58

Better JS fellas. Lonie or McGrath?

    Squawking_Hawk · 16/04/2015 at 18:37

Ryan · 16/04/2015 at 18:39

Hi guys, was planning on trading out trent Mckenzie, scored 44 in round one and was dropped. Been named for this round, stick with him, or trade in Docherty?

Nathan · 16/04/2015 at 18:57

Is NVB a must have? Because Im in a position where the only possible way to get him in is to trade out Cripps. So do I hold Cripps or drop him for NVB?

    @cafosk · 16/04/2015 at 19:17

Same position, Van Berlo has much better job security at the moment, and will appreciate faster, if you're going to trade him out earlier would be worth burning a trade. I dont know how Cripps will respond now, but that 1 week could be handy if you're looking to downgrade to Krakour just before his price changed.

    I'm tossing up!

    NutSack · 16/04/2015 at 19:49

I wouldn't even consider trading out Cripps. You wanna miss out on his 100+ this week?

jason · 16/04/2015 at 19:38

ablett > wines
k kolo > b smith

140k left in bank

smohkey · 16/04/2015 at 20:01

Need a hand here community

GAJ to Ellis-Yolman or Van Berlo?
& Caleb Daniel to Bonts?

or something else/better options?

jim · 16/04/2015 at 20:04

JPK for parker?
