Is it time to say farewell to The Great One?
Thousands of us are faced with a gut wrenching decision this week. Do we need to face the heart breaking prospect of removing Gary Ablett Jr from our teams this week?
It’s an emotion charged show this week community. And although many of us are emotional about the decision that we face – we must acknowledge that Supercoach greatness waits for no man – and may need to be achieved without the chosen one.
Enjoy the show folks.

Gary ablett – bont
Lambert- rich
Jock do these trades look reasonable?
Bontempelli looked good, but tough run coming up. Risky pick
Bont's a mid/Forward. You'd get better value out of him as a forward. Fyfe would be a better choice for the midfield, amongst others.
Wouldn't jump on Bont, reckon he's gonna get more attention. Only played 20 games and won't pump out the scores he's been pumping out so far consistently, playing in his first losing game for the year against first Hawks this weekend. good luck!
Agree with Ryan, Bonts a great player but the bloke is still young! tread very carefully, i'm almost positive hes won't continue this output.
Output will drop I reckon but could play out the year averaging 90-100 which is still a win at his price….that said I think I’ll dodge him as a bit of an anti pod
Totally disagree the Bont is a freak trust me, he wont average below 90 season end and he can handle the tag.
At his price he is a MUST grab forward keeper, LOCK and throw away the key, unless injured IMO
Anyone here reckon Bont is similar to Fyfe.. Both wear the head band
Not only that Fyfe and Bont averaged in the 70’s and in Fyfe second year he averaged 100+… I think the same might happen for the bont!
Have thought the same kenna both, look very similar in the way they play
Fyfe has averaged 73, 108, 93, 107, 122. It's taken him five years to get to an elite average for the midfield but two years as a forward.
Gotta remember Fyfe had his shoulder problems in that time as well so his average could have been better
How does he handle a tag? The tag is going to Macrae and before that Libba or Griffin. Martin played a loose run with last week and no one picked him up on the West Coast game. Will attract attention and will drop off, not entirely but considerably.
Agree – he is a F6 keeper for mine, will average 100-105 most likely
While I understand the comments about his age/only being in 2nd year, there is something very special about Bont – wins his own ball, uses it very well, always seems to have time and space (Pendles anyone?) tackles, can take a mark and kick a goal.
Also, not many teams will be able to apply a heavy tag, he’s 194cm – most teams primary tagger will be giving up too much height.
Make that 192cm
Question is, inside player or outside? inside players generally avoid tag due to not damaging on the outlet whereas outside players break lines and create scoring chains i.e stanton ess, montagna stk, griffen both gws, macrae dogs, stevie j geelong, stephen hill freo, wells North…
I’m thinking ablett-wines, Lewis or treloar and then use the cash to turn cripps into d rich
Solid, wines looking good
Solid wines are probably off.
need some advice community.
what to do with wells?
trade to rich
or
van berlo??
Van berlo for mine
I’m thinking Wallis or van berlo, maybe van berlo thanks to adelaides run to the bye….shame about wells… He was flying til being subbed
Apparently he’s looking to come back this week and not miss a game anyway
Is Tom McDonald the real deal? If so it solves the Brett Goodes situation
Gold Coast and gws a nice start to the season, be surprised to see him scoring well against top teams
Rule #2 – Don't jump on the early bolter.
again my question why start with goodes and I think tom McDonald wont get those scores against big teams like geelong hawks etc his scores will go 50 plus when Melbourne start playing big teams so I would not jump on him could be wrong but yeah
Ablett to Bont and move Bont Forward
Goodes to Smith
I'm thinking Ablett to Sloane, and then Goodes to Docherty or McDonald. Either that or hold Goodes for one more week and trade Miller to Van Berlo. Thoughts?
OR, should I keep Ablett and trade Maric for Swan/Bont (via Bellchambers in the FWD line) and use the cash to upgrade Miller to NVB?
think ablett has to go, what about Goodes to hunt(or do you already have him?)
I dont have Hunt, but I'm not really sold on him.
Yep Ablett to Sloane. Id go NVB. Goodes BE only 60ish so won't lose too much value.
Leading the country community…gonna sleep well tonight- thankyou to all who share their wisdom!! Special thanks to Mad Mick for swaying me to keep Dusty…
A privilege to be in the same sc group as you
Good job frank, keep it up
Cheers Ryab & Swans2012.
great stuff frank!!!
Thanks Jock! Cheers for all the awesome information and strategy advice o' great one.
Grundy! Cheeky pick m8 could have a huge payoff
Only a pie fan would do that hey, yeah was cheeky. Good so far.
Scored 2321…. 904th in the land! Nice work mate….
Cripps to vanderberg for the cash injection or Botempelli for the cash and long haul?
Vandenberg for mine
Thanks
Definitely Vberg!
Thanks mate
Start of this podcast is absolute gold , keep it up you bloody legend jock !
Picked trent Mckenzie, Doh. Worked well this week as a loophole to utilise oxleys score. But 440k too expensive for that. I was thinking Mckenzie to hunt, frees up cash for later. it goes against the rule of getting rid of premiums and bringing in mid-pricers. A good trade or asking for trouble?
I think McDonald's scoring will be pretty erratic this year, go with Docherty if you're looking at straight swapping. If you've got some spare coin, just go safe with Smith or Shaw.
Should I trade Goodes for hunt or Oxley?
Oxley mate
Oxley
GAJ -> Sloane
Then either
B.Goodes -> T.Mcdonald or
T.Miller -> vandenBerg
Im thinking of miller – vandenberg to get the rookies right, but mcdonald is set to go from 380 to 440 next week.
agree the vandenberg is the best option, melbourne have had a soft start to the season, when they face top teams I expect his output to decline
Yeah GCS & GWS, might wait and see with mcdonald. thanks
Definitely the Miller > VandenBerg option steve.
Very early on in the trading week but I think I'm keeping Gary, on principles. I just owe it to the guy to stick with him.
Plus, when he turns this patch around and scores 160 I want to be right there with him.
Booked to drop 55k this week and 44k next week if he keeps this up. Is it really worth it?
I agree with ya mate, although I have not seen him play this year, surely he can get back premium form, surely?
I'd strongly advise catching a replay of both games before holding or folding cam.
Zero tackles in two games, enough said. I have him but he has to go, for now
Spot on Sean. I had a shoulder reconstruction one month after Ablett last year – there's no way I'd tackle anything other than a slab of Coopers on the couch in front of the footy right now.
Ablett to Sloane or Bonts?
My thinking would be to downgrade GAJ to someone who will be a top 8 mid, then use a midpricer to get back to GAJ if he picks up. Saves a trade that way. But that depends on how many stepping stones you have, how much $$$ you have and how well theyre playing.
Fair enough GAJ to Sloane wil leave me with 170k
Definitely Sloane.
Sloane. Proven. No contest.
Actually Ablett to Sloane and Goodes to watts
Or Ablett to Bonts and Goodes to smith
I'd go with the Sloane/Oxley option.
Well, Goodes has a low BE so I don't think you need to offload. I'm going to keep, may put on bench (could be a handy cover). Smith will be out this week most probably due to concussion management.
Gaz to Sloane = gold, query mark.
Surely you're kidding with Watts?
That was a typo
hold your horses on smith just be wary, with knee to the head in the last Q against Collingwood, he'll probs be fine but wait til he's named and not last minute out.
Not watts I mean Oxley
I would go Sloane and Oxley. Oxley looked really good on Saturday
Anyone not making trades this week? Did previous SC winners not trade before round 3? Bruyn???
Make sure you have as good a rookie setup as possible, unless its already 10/10. Then there is a reasoning for not trading.
I'm trading Goodes to Shiel by swinging Saad from mid to back, then Nick Haynes to Tory Dickson by swinging H.Goddard from forward to back. Leaves me with 27 trades and $273K with a mid set up of Shiel, Sloane, Fyfe, Lewis, Kennedy, Wines, CEY, V'berg. Should have a team that can handle itself for 4-5 weeks till the rookies are ready to get upgraded and have spare cash for any running repairs. I don't think you can win without trading a few around early
Not sold on Shiel as they have only played Melbourne & Saints and think burning a trade for Tory Dickson is a waste of a trade as he will be very inconsistent.
Shark move.
Nice work Frank.
I think using 2 trades this week is a must, as you have to get your rookies right. Unless you've got all your rookies perfect, of course.
JB goes against the grain and advocates aggressive early trading if warranted to correct team setup/structures if going for the big prize which makes sense to me, remember the conclusion of this round will see the most significant price changes for the whole season so all factors should be considered before pulling the pin on any trade.
What's more important right now community!!
Crips to Daniel rich for cash generation or goodes to Adam oxaly.
If your after cash generation have you considered van berlo? Cheaper than rich and huge appreciation after next week
Cripps swinging in Saad from defence and bringing in Oxely for Saad's spot
Then Goodes out for Docherty
Thoughts?
I prefer Saad down back. Looks a very consistent 70 type player for D5-6. McIntosh and Oxley may be a little more spasmodic. Start Saad, and EM Loophole McIntosh and Oxley – if fixture permits of course.
Saad is wasted if sitting on the midfield bench.
Goodes to oxley
Bellchambers to Bontempelli
Does this look good guys, or should i hold?
If you're starting Bellchambers in your forward line, then he's obviously there for ruck insurance.
Don't think you require the insurance any more?
I've been adamant on keeping bellchambers for a rainy day. I know he'll save my bacon at some stage. That said, I'm really just after a reasonable ranking and to win a premiership, I don't really have a chance at winning the 50k so depends what your goal is.
im in a similar boat..i have tom bell end chambers as ruck insurance in fwd line…but my r1 r2 are goldstein nic nat, so pretty happy at the moment. trading gaz to sloane, i can get the bont for bell end chambers. just urks me seeing tbc stink up my fwd line…happy to take the risk with bont…big fan of docherty too..
TBC – to be concerned? Ruck insurance in fwd line after abs to sloane last week happy with that one have the coin to either go TBC to bont or cripps to rich. Have all the rookies so CEY an Vanders can go m7 -m8 so rich would push one onto bench bont would give me 4 strong in fwd line with fwd rookies last two spots. Thoughts? Thinking the bont but do we see the need for ruck cover?
Most teams I see don’t have cover maybe backing in their gut?
Got a little bit of cash and have not traded yet…thinking Jaksch to Oxley and Cripps to The Bont….seems like a no-brainer to me. Thoughts?
I don't mind that Dave.
Cripps > Bontempelli isn't bad at all. I do think up to Bontempelli is a valid option, but downgrade to Bontempelli isn't this week. E.G Ablett > Bontempelli.
Excellent Dave that should improve your score dramatically and also your future cash generation as both Ox & Bont will increase quite substantially in price. Great moves IMO
What should I do about big mummy?
HOLD.
Woof is right, if Mummy is your biggest concern you must have a really good team
I was thinking keeping Ablett and going Newton to Rich, and Goodes to Oxley. Or would it be better to go Ablett to Wines than the Newton trade?
Not a fan of Ablett > Wines.
Would prefer the Newton > Rich and Goodes > Oxley option Matthew.
Get rid of GAJ as he will bleed cash. I would personally trade GAJ out for a proven Elite premium in someone like Fyfe, Sloane, Pendles, JPK or Wines and forget about Rich as it's highly likely if you bring in Rich for GAJ at some point you'll need to trade Rich out for a elite premium later on anyway so its going to cost you 2 trades which is pointless, considering each trade is worth around $200k.
Then go Goods to Oxley, that's a must, u need Oxley as a cash cow.
Poignant. Highly personal. And at times wildly perverse. In other words, a KICKASS episode, gents.
Thinking I'm going to off Cripps to Vandy. Money will help upgrade KK if I so choose (which I'm leaning).
Resist urge for sideway trades. Back your prems. Was considering swapping Griffs last week and glad I stuck.
Thumper did alright on weekend, respectable 80, in a side that looked pretty ordinary against the saints, mid prices we can't expect the 100+ every week and his BE is only 88
Very true, Sulzeer. But was horrid against the Dees, even tagged. Feel there's a lot of unsteadiness in the Suns. So he could be moved around some more. Yes it's a guess. But moving Cripps can get me Rance or Murph. Think in the long haul, those two will be a top 8 def. Can't see that for Thumper. Better to cut string now. Keep the uncertainty and lower expectations for D4-D6.
Throttle i have cripps to but with judd going down and carlton getting smashed every week should we wait..
he will surley play the next 10 games will end up making us 150 k ? should ave around 80.
True but I don't have Vandy and I think he'll be a better cash cow than Cripps. That's the deal breaker for me, SCHawk.
KK hasn't performed as I'd hoped. I will hold for another week.
My concern is Boak. Thought he was going to be a nice POD. I know sideways trades are no good but I'm thinking of flicking him and Gaz this week to maybe Sloan and Shiel/Pendles. Thoughts??
I'm doing the same, Coady. More thought into it and perhaps he'll pick up. Sure being 0-2 everyone is getting sprayed so expect the Thumper to turn it up. 90+ this week. Makes his BE!
Mate, was looking at doing very similar trades with KK –> Rance and Cripps –> J McGrath (Bris FWD rookie – I've already got the others) via DPP.
Personally I think it's solid. Already looking at an upgrade to a keeper from a mid pricer down back. Rance is killing it down there.
Or do people think it would be better to offload Newton rather than Cripps?
Hey Tuk! I'm holding KK. Not sure he's going to tank. Seems a slow starter. Believe he'll have a fire under his Thumper so may go ton this week. (fingers crossed).
Also, wanted to wait to see how the DEFs pan out. Smith looks like gold. Rance, think so but don't know so. As Patch suggested, don't want to get caught with this year's Cale Hooker.
Don't have Newton but am offing Cripps, as I don't have Vandy.
I have all the rookies thankfully, seems the only thing I did right, so I have McGrath.
If you don't have VanBerlo why bother trading Cripps to McGrath, you'll be allot better trading Cripps to Vanberlo.
Damn, I was set on Sloane since round 1. Even placed a solid $50 for the brownlow on him. All of a sudden people have the oporutnity to snag him now and now he's no longer a POD 🙁
Such is life. Also you can wave goodbye to that $50 unless fyfe gets suspended. 6 votes and no sign of stopping. Contested freak
Did the same with Lewis, thanks for the huge first round score…
Me too! Only 1 other player in my league has Sloane and I was rock solid on him and Fyfe all pre season. But I flip flopped on Lewis and that may cost me. Can't win em all eh?
I'm exactly the same mate. Sloane and Rich were my (somewhat) POD's.
Ablett to JPK or Parker?
Miller to NVB?
Thoughts …
Or Jordan Lewis?
JPK.
Not sure with NVB……Something i need to consider myself this week. Was going to ask the community.
Not many rookie mids out there Adelaide great early draw …
Ablett to NVB
Lamb to Bontempelli
Hey guys, thinking about going Cripps > NVB and GAJ > JPK
Leaves me with 133k in the bank coming off a 2270 and no trades last week
My only question is do I go with JPK, Pendles or the Sloane Ranger?
Not Pendles. BE is high. Of the other 2 its anyones guess.
Cheers Dan. That's the reason I am leaning towards JPK, decent run too
All three are very good options. Not sure you can go too wrong with either of the three.
NVB…..Yes, he needs to be discussed. Need to consider him myself. Surprised he wasn't mentioned in the podcast, although there was a plethora of things to go through in 30-Odd mins.
i Love CROUCHING
"Subbed out for Shitness" – This had me in in stitches!! Sooooooooooo funny!
As always an awesome podcast.
So much to chew on this week. Could be the biggest week of 2015. Hold or Fold Gary, finalise those rookies, are the Docherty's, Tom Mac's, Bontempelli's types keepers……Get em in now, or not?…….Decisions, Decisions for all.
* Obviously podcast was recorded before finalised scores. Thought Rockliff > Lewis was fine. Scored 111, after having a very lacklustre first half. Showed me that he has taken his game to a new level. Pre 2014 Lewis would have scored 70-80 today.
Enjoy the week ahead, and all the best with trading for Round 3 community!
C.Peerce to H.Goddard(already got Oxley, McIntosh, and Saad)
P.Cripps to D.Rich(Already got Heeney, Vandemberg, and CEY)
Thoughts?
Oh also I didn't make any trades last week
Pearce is avg 55 and BE is 55 so won't lose value if you can hold a week. Plus Ibbotson is an injury waiting to happen I think…then bang, Pearce takes his role.
Also, you could go cripps to NVB.
Fantastic podcast as usual gents. I thought GAJ would have at least showed something this round but alas…. time to move on..
Unsure whether to hold or move cripps on… If i do, Cripps to NVB or Rich? Didn't see Rich against the roos, worried he will get attention with hanley and rockliff out. Or will the attention stay on beams? This will largely depend on whether cripps is selected of course. Cheers lads
If you don't have NVB or Rich and have Cripps then you need to trade. NVB is looking at about a 70k increase and Rich is looking at about a 50K increase.
As Cripps has only played one game you can use him to "cash-in" a rookie in a few weeks if you dump him now. Il'd go for Rich as his still scoring well when his teams is doing bad.
Looking at a half dilemma with A.Swallow, 500 thousand and wanting to know what do do with the fella, got a spare 90,000 from the cripps correctional help?
Im in the same boat. Im thinking Swallow to Rich and Cripps to NVB.
Have to forgive Swallow for Round 1 score of 69, and go off his Round 2 of 100. His Round 2 score is more reflective of the output he should provide moving forward.
Should score in the 90-110 zone for you each week. I'd say hold, although it would be tempting to use the coin to turn him into Jordan Lewis.
I see what your saying mate, but that 90k is burning a hole in my pocket. And swallow just isn't moving like I hoped
DONT & I mean don't go wasting trades from Swallow to Rich after just 2 games, he scored 100 in round 2.
Cripps yes get rid of Cripps to someone like Van Berlo, or if u have the cash and your gut says Rich then do that.
Guys I love Ablett, selected him for the last 7 seasons with the C almost every round granted the loophole.
But i tell you now community Nat Fyfe will bloody tear the AFL apart this year. A side ways trade is absolutely necessary.
BUT Gary is not done. Let's be honest when that shoulder comes good, which it will he'll come home like a freight train, Trade him in when he hits form at a cheap price. simple.
I like your thinking, except for the part where you started without Fyfe
I didn't actually mate! I'm just advising the masses to go on board! Haha.
I'll be downing Ablett to Sloane.
no trades used as of yet.. Looking to get rid of touk miller and cripps. one will go to vandenberg but the other not to sure??
any help community have 21k left
cheers
Back: shaw, newnes, Lumumba
goodes, oxley, mcintosh (brown, saad)
Mid: beams, fyfe, parker
wines, stevens, sloane
newton, cripps (miller, heeney, CEY)
Ruck: nic nat, maric (read)
Fwd: gray, martin, swan
TBC, salem, clark (Hogan, lambert)
miller-vandenberg & cripps-vanBerlo, think the cash works on that…
Ablett to Fyfe
Cripps to Van Berlo
What do you think guys?
Like it!
yeah, good.
Solid trades
Why jump off Cripps so soon? It’s not like Carlton have all these stars to come back in. Cripps will play plenty.
Mike because Cripps has a Average of 53 after 1 game, where as VanBerlo has a Average of 93 after 2 games and he is basically the same price as Cripps so VanBerlo will go up $70k
Who knows what happens with Cripps, I agree he should get a ton of games but why was he dropped in the first place, Malthouse might bring him back and SUB him. Due to the uncertanty with Cripps your much better off trading him out and getting VanBerlo because his price will hit $400k by round 5 or 6 providing he is playing in round 3 and im sure he will.
Beams….without the support of a decent midfield has he got a chance of 600k worthy output?
I have some concerns also about beams, but you picked him in your team for a reason so hold tight on him
Me 3 a little bit concerned about his output
I got A.Swallow as a hopeful quick jump to a fallen premo, but thinking trading him for Rich and Cripps for NVB as both will generate cash and will have 150K in the warchest for a Pendles/Selwood in about 4-5 weeks. Was lucky enough to get every rook so don't need to burn a trade on them.
why not go straight swap for shiels???
Hi community had a great start so far ranked 150, I'm wondering what people think about dylan shiel tempted to go ablett down to him and goodes to Oxley or up to premium defender thoughts? Thnx
"A few good scores make not an ultra premium" – Old Chinese Proverb.
Very good advice, think I might go jpk. Thnx
old Pyanman proverb " Man who go to bed with problem in hand, wake up with solution on chest!" welcome…
Ha ha I like that.
Hey mate with your ranking you should be giving most of us advice!
This is the highest I have ever been ranked, very happy so far but big decesions to be made and a long way to go.
also keeping in mind that GWS have played melbourne and saints so far
Very true best bet I think is proven prem so going that way. Thnx very much it's appreciated.
Caz firstly congrats on your ranking m8 thats awesome. To trade GAJ to Shiel is suicide especially with your ranking, don't get me wrong Shiel has killed it so far but who have they played? (Saints & Melbourne) now there draw isn't so easy.
You need to trade GAJ to a elite premium such as: Fyfe, SLOANE, JPK, Pendles, I personally am going GAJ straight to Sloane.
Goodes to Oxley is also a must as you'll generate quite allot of cash by that trade. Although because your going for overall 50k win, treat your trades as GOLD as you could easily win this if you pick right and luck falls in your way.,,
B. Goodes >> Oxley and Cripps >> Rich, Wallis or Van Berlo?
Pocket 130k by taking NVB but don't think it's quite enough to turn me away from Wallis and Rich who should hold 100+ averages.
Goodes to Oxaly or Cripps to Rich
I have the same dilemma, and I'm going Goodes to Oxley.
Goodes to Oxley i'd say.
Cripps to Van Berlo or Heeney. Is Heeney a must have?
yes. definitely in the best 21 at swans
Heeney MUST have. Got to have him mate, his cash generation will double Vanberlo's
GAJ to Sloane, JPK or Rich?
Depends on what ur midfield is and what your looking for? Sloane or JPK would stay in your side until the end but Rich won't, if it's cash generation don't think you can go past NVB
What should I do with Josh Gibson? Chose him due to his floating role thanks to Frawley, but with Frawls injured he may return to second key defender.
Same delima, think need to see what his role looks like going forward.
I had the same thoughts but perhaps they pick Spanger to replace frawley and Gibson stays as third man – hopefully that’s the way they go
So two trade, two questions!
Q1: So I want Vandenberg, who should get the chop: D Wells, P Cripps or T Miller?
Q2: NVB in for the second of above (if so which one); or Oxley in for Goodes? Thoughts?
Oxley is just about a must have I think. And wells looked very average, I'd move him on.
Thanks Marco. I didn’t see the roo’s match…At 1.2 points per minute he must have been getting serous junk to be subbed off and ragged out like this. Miller ain’t a high bar to get past.
Ok so Ablett is the no 1 priority corrective trade, who should be number 2?:
B Goodes (to Oxley) or
P Cripps (to NVB/Wallis).
Looks like my question above, happy sailing with you. If both selected, Goodes has the extra match but that 10 is going to hurt the prices for few weeks. I'm punting both I suspect, but your highest priority is Oxley IMO.
Sorry mate obviously didn't look hard enough! Thanks for the advice.
Goodes to oxley
Im in the same boat although I have Oxley so I would have to trade Goodes to someone else so im leaning towards P Cripps (to NVB/Wallis)
I'm in a similar situation Mitchy.
Goodes is not going to drop too much value so I wouldn't waste a trade on him this week however unless something amazing happens he has to go within 2 weeks.
Cripps for NVB/Heeney/Vandenberg depending on who you already have.
Yeah thanks [email protected] I will probably go cripps for NVB unless i think of a better one.
Thanks for your help thus far, community. Would love some opinions on this situation.
Thinking trades, with 30 in hand (along with $140k) here's my team:
DEF: Simpson, Hibberd, Newnes, Goodes, Saad, Mcintosh (Oxley, Brown)
MID: Fyfe, Sloane, Pendlebury, Selwood, Griffen, Ellis-Yoleman, Vandenberg, Newton (Heeney, Cripps, Miller)
RUC: Goldstein, Maric (Read)
FWD: Martin, Goddard, Swan, Bellchambers, Salem, Hogan (Clark, Lambert)
I'm thinking Cripps => McGrath (fwd via swing, to generate cash for my next trade), and Goodes => Docherty. I'm considering this because I'm really thinking Docherty is the real deal. Or should someone like Nathan Van Berlo be a priority?
Docherty output might lower with Andrew walker coming back soon
You M5 structure has 3 good point scoring/cash generating rookies for on field. Getting full premo is the aim. If you think Docherty is the go then get him in. He is not in my team though, but I wouldn't be unhappy to have him. sighs…newnes….good luck. NVB is a medium priority for mine, as anything with BE <-80 is must have, <-40 nice to have as far as rookies go.
Anyone worried about Dayne beams output with Rockliff out?
Didn't see the game, was he tagged hard or just not in it? I have him, and not looking to trade him at the moment, he can be a beast, just hasn't started as well as I expected.
He was tagged, not to concerned, he will do a Dusty and will come this week and turn it around
What should i do about leuenberger
trade or keep??
Keep for a little while at least.
Hello guys, I have decided to trade Ablett and Cripps away I have 15k already in the bank. I would have liked to go Sloane and Rich but I am 4k away. So here are what I think are my options, Rich and Josh Kennedy or another cheaper premium or I could go Sloane and Wallis. Any help would be appreciated to come to a good decision.
I want to trade Ablett to something 100% but for the second trade I could also go Goodes to Oxley or even go Cripps to NVB. P,ease give me some advice I am not sure which is best.
Hey Nicholas,
Sloane or JPK are very good selections. Perhaps go with the one that best accompanies the second trade.
Decision may be made for you at the selection table if either Goodes or Cripps aren't named. Don't stress too much, and wait until Thursday's teams are announced.
Same dilemma for me ablett to Jpk and goodes to Oxley
I have traded Beams out for Sloane. I have all the good rookies and sticking With my structures. First trade for the year
Be careful you're not just chasing points mate. Not to say it is a wrong trade, but just keep in mind why you selected beams in the first place. I've got him too and I haven't liked the look of him so far, but we just have to stick fat with our premiums and keep faith. If beams scores 150 this week and Sloane 100 you'll be kicking yourself.
He will take time to adjust to Bris game plan and doesn’t have a key forward to pump the ball inside 50 on a big forwards head. No Rockliff might actually be hurting him
Considering that's your only trade I think its a AWESOME trade even though I hate sideways trading premiums as it always bites me on the Ar$e.
If I didn't the GAJ problem which im trading out for Slone, id do the same thing as you as I also have beams.
Hey community. Need to trade ablett!!!
Was thinking G.Ablett -> D.Heppell
B.Goodes -> S.Docherty
Thinking that Heppell (and his hair) have seen the two best teams in the comp and have come up trumps. Surely that means when he plays some lesser squads he will rip right through them.
Heppell statistically is one of the most consistent midfielders SuperCoach wise, solid selection.
what trade seems better
1.out. M.johnson/ hibberd – in. Oxley
Out. Cripps- in. Lewis
2. Out. Goodes- in. Oxley
Out. Miller- in. Van berlo
number 2 for mine.
Agreed.corrective while keeping your structure.
Number 2 – Hibberd/Johnson would be guys you will be hoping can stay in your team for the year
Any love for an Ablett to Mundy trade as a POD?
Love it, was thinking of bringing Mundy in at start of year but caved.
Mundy is in a top side and I believe that the tag will never come to him.
Looking to either upgrade or downgrade Bewick
Options
1
Bewick-Mcdonald/Rampe or any other ideas
2
Bewick-Oxley or any other ideas
Thsnks in Advance
Option 2. If you are upgrading, you would want to upgrade to a keeper, otherwise you waste a trade. Are you thinking McDonald or Rampe are keepers? If not, make it a corrective to Oxley
Defence-
Simpson, kelly, Johnson
Newnes, Goodes, saad
Mcintosh, brown
Feel like I’ve spent too much on defence and not getting great outputs.. Should I drop one and upgrade a mid like miller or cripps
Goodes to Oxley and Miller to NVB
Who are my priority correctional trades? My rookies are Saad, Oxley, McIntosh, Goodes, Cripps, Heeney, Vandenberg, Ellis-Yolmen, Miller, Hogan, Salem, Lambert, Lonie,
Not sure about Scott Selwood either, if he isnt named this week, might have to get rid of him.
I wouldn't say any of them are priority, but if you were wanting to trade any I would say Goodes and Miller. Lambert is a possible trade if he injured his shoulder badly on the weekend.
That said, Goodes and Miller are still there or thereabouts. Miller has a BE of 4, so he still has money to make. NVB would be the one to go to imo. Goodes has a BE of 65 – he made 70 in the first week so he is a chance of making that. Concern is obviously the vest like he did last weekend. Problem is – who would you trade him to? You have the 3 rookies you need in the backline already and you will need cash to upgrade him.
Sorry – Goodes made 68 first week – still over his BE
As soon as lockout ended, GAJ out fyfe in . Also have Cripps , but he is only on my bench anyway, so happy to hold for another couple rounds to see if he gets a game, I've got all the good rookies and not real keen on NVB .
Fyfe is a must. Having the C on him made my round somewhat decent. Not sure on NVB, atm it's going to be Cripps to Rich for me. Goodes can sit on the pine for now.
Thoughts on Shiel? Killing it against weakish opponents. Syd this week, team will lift for that. Don’t want to fall into trap of jumping on first bandwagon tho.
Also like Heppell.
Shiel COULD continue to smash it, and he COULD be a magical selection. However if he drops off against stronger teams you'll be kicking yourself you didn't spend 50-100k more to get a proven ultra premium. I'm going to Sloane instead who I know will get the job done. Heppell is a very consistent midfielder and you can't really go wrong with him I don't think.
anyone taking byes into the equation, if so for me its a swans or giants premium…..
so which of these four? JPK, Parker, shiel or treloar….. leaning towards treloar or JPK…. but shield is tempting……
JPK, Parker isn't peforming with a 99 and a 74 and shiel and treloar are to unreliable for mind.
Agree – JPK. Shiel would be next in line, although his average against his next few opponents is fairly ordinary – did get 117 against Sydney last year though.
Can't go wrong with JPK, Parker not performing I would put down to buddy smashing his head in R1 , had 35 touches and cracked the ton by third qtr. r2 I reckon he ended up playin it safe whilst they had control of the game from early on.
G’day community what’s ya thoughts on Mitch Duncan can’t hold onto him for that price I was real hopeful I know watch him on the weekend he does not want a kick soft! Tough trade though no money to trade up so its sideways or down thoughts.
Held onto goldy = GUN
This might sound crazy but I am tossing up between Bont and Betts. He is spending a bit of time in the midfield and they have a great run for the next few weeks.
Yes, that does sound crazy.
Some great discussion on the Podcast gents. Will be very interested to see the major ins and outs this week.
Community thoughts on holding Gary for one more week if he plays??? Will drop 30-40k, but I feel that id rather trade Goodes to Oxley and Cripps to Rich, trading out ablett would leave 500k in the kitty in total, which is to much for mind
Thoughts Community
In a similar boat and likely to make a similar decision.
Conor if you trade out GAJ you must trade him for a Elite premium such as Fyfe, Slone, JPK, Pendles or Wines so you wouldn't have 500k in the kitty unless your side is very ordinary.
If your willing to risk waiting one more week with GAJ then you may as well keep him providing he doesn't get rested.
For me risking $730k with a player who is seriously only 70% at best not to mention he could be rested at any stage is pointless.
Hamling to Oxley – Trade 1
Miller – Lambert To Mid – Hogan – Trade 2
Still holding Sidebottom.
Is this a sound move?
Trade Sidebottom, out for 6-8
