Jess · 09/04/2015 at 21:31

Thumper, is he the new GCS tagger?

    Kev · 09/04/2015 at 21:37

I don't think so. Smashed it in the first quarter (8 possessions from memory) Then sacrificed his own game and was moved on to The Gift.

Glorin · 09/04/2015 at 21:40

Thinking of trading Griffin to Swan with the idea to switch him forward once my first fwd rookie ripens. The extra cash will allow for a single upgrade trade to ultra premium mid in next few weeks. Swan also becomes F5.
Alternatively I can use current bank to upgrade Griffin to Ultra premium this week.
or hold.

    LEKD0G · 09/04/2015 at 23:21

    hold Griffen

cuz · 09/04/2015 at 21:40

touk miller to vandenberg this week?

As i am looking to do 2 trades next week.

    jacob · 09/04/2015 at 23:25

seems a good trade. Miller JS isn’t all that flash and neither is his scoring ability.

      lm11 · 10/04/2015 at 16:23

Trust me.. Miller is one talented player. Don't underestimate over his debut.

    Dean · 09/04/2015 at 23:43

Just wait a week, WHY do people keep asking the same old questions.

If Miller doesn't end up with the snot vest, which I understand is quite likely this week.
But if he doesn't get the vest and plays who's to know maybe Miller might score 80+ and Vandenberg could end up scoring 30 odd.
Your getting a extra free week to look at these rookies before the price change, think of it as TRY BEFORE YOU BUY…

Even if Miller doesn't play it's not worth bringing Vandenberg this week as he could get injured and a new rookie such as Lambert comes in this week and could score 80+ If you don't have Lambert either then you have both to chose from.

All im saying is wait until round 3 and in your case then DEFIANTLY burn 2 trades to bring in those must have rookies, such as Vandenberg, McIntosh and so on.

      Frank · 09/04/2015 at 23:47

Exactly what Dean said. Bring in new rookies after they've been picked to play a 3rd game – wait until they break the banner if possible.

        cuz · 10/04/2015 at 08:12

I know what you boys are saying but if cripps and salem spud it up this week i want to go cripps to van berlo or brayshaw and salem to mcgrath leaving me with miller to go this week. Also melbourne play before gold coast so i am unable to see if he gets the vest before melbourne play.

          Frank · 10/04/2015 at 08:49

Miller is a talent and worth holding on to I think. There's lots of "ifs" in your plan, Cripps and Salem to spud – VB/Brayshaw and McGrath to back up. Round 1 scores only last a week, don't give them too much weight when deciding on rookies. But if you feel confident go for it.

      killakombo · 10/04/2015 at 16:44

he may need to save trades for next week as he stated, there no reason you cant trade aggressively early to correct your team.. JB a supercoach winner advises it mate. i know i am. im going miller to vberg so i still have 2 trades next week.

Josh · 09/04/2015 at 21:46

if ibbo gets Another sub 80 score this week should I do a sideways trade geary or hunt or go for a rookie like dalgiesh who’s playing this week???

    kurt · 09/04/2015 at 21:51

id rather upgrade ibbo to a premo rather than go down to rookie (unless you dont have saad or macintosh yet) or sideways to another mid pricer.

darren · 09/04/2015 at 21:46

lol @ every one tradin

    killakombo · 10/04/2015 at 16:47

mate, they are corrective, trade if absolutely neccesary, John Bruyn advises aggresive rookie corrcective trades early and so do I. only if you have the wrong rookies.. sodeways is a diffeent story.. dont need to be a smart ass to others.. JB has won supercoach and you havent.. dont be a sheep.. go your own way n makes the trades if needed. just not sideways on premos

kurt · 09/04/2015 at 21:48

i have lambert and lamb on bench, lamb has been dropped and lambert looks set to get the vest. uncle jock is it time to move on either lamb or lambert to mcgrath. he looked good round 1 and is a likely starter week in week out. advice??

    Phil · 09/04/2015 at 22:02

Lambert absolutely not! He could probably where the vest and still out score McGrath. And what makes you so sure he will wear the vest and McGrath not?
Lamb to McGrath wouldn't be the worst but I'd still wait a week. For what it's worth I think McGrath scored around his best last week and I wouldn't be rushing to get a 50-60 point scorer into my team, unless if it was to cover a donut.

      Phil · 09/04/2015 at 22:04

        kurt · 09/04/2015 at 22:10

        cheers phil, well said

    jacob · 09/04/2015 at 23:28

Im moving lamb onto McGrath on this week but wouldnt move Lambert on if you have him. Don’t think lamb’s JS is too good and when he does get a game he’s a big sub candidate. Only doing this trade this week because I’ll be looking at sneaking in 2 next week before price changes. And I am confident is mcgraths JS and scoring ability. Apparently Brisbane coachin staff love him.

    Harry · 09/04/2015 at 23:34

Mcgrath did absolute shit after quarter time so best to have another look at him this weekend and see how he goes. V Risky

    Declan · 10/04/2015 at 12:05

Lambert is named on the field, he can't get the vest this week

      JJ · 10/04/2015 at 14:19

Not true mate. Sub could be anyone in 22.

luke · 09/04/2015 at 21:54

when do the prices change for the players

    Simo · 09/04/2015 at 22:01

    after rd 3

      CashCows · 09/04/2015 at 23:02

After playing 3 rounds, not round 3

Simo · 09/04/2015 at 21:59

is it a wasted trade to go Lamb to C.McCarthy???? Traded Rocky to Lewis, so have got some free cash but he is a more expensive rookie. What are Lamb's chances on getting back into the West Coast team and should I just hold him???

    LEKD0G · 09/04/2015 at 23:21

risky, i'd be holding off for now

    jacob · 09/04/2015 at 23:32

Not a bad move I reckon. Wait untill next week unless youre looking at making two trades next week. I don’t really rate Lambs JS. He was replaced by tunbridge who is more experienced and will give more to that eagles side. I’m moving lamb on this week espacially knowing that even if he does get a game hell most likely attract the vest

    yurkins · 10/04/2015 at 00:05

why not wait a week or two till its clearer who to select?

      jacob · 10/04/2015 at 01:09

Yeh I think I will do that, bit I was looking to make a couple of trades next week.

Jono · 09/04/2015 at 22:13

I have Sidebum amd considering trading him to a j.lewis or wines. But then again I really don’t want to trade, 1) if I do trade him, who is better option, Lewis or wines? And 2) is it worth holding him on bench for this week and bring heeney onfield instead to get a better idea of who to trade in next week?

    LEKD0G · 09/04/2015 at 23:22

Lewis is the better option, holding might not hurt, should give you the lat of the land

      Jono · 10/04/2015 at 00:43

Thanks for your thoughts lekdog! Might hold off a trade … Depending on which rookies play

        JJ · 10/04/2015 at 14:21

Free look at some emergency loophole options in the early games if you hold him. Lots of points lost every week in bench him though.

Jye · 09/04/2015 at 22:17

Who should I start Saad or B. Goodes?

    CashCows · 09/04/2015 at 23:01

goodes should see more of it…but Saad has the saints which could mean a little more run and better DE out of defence due to less pressure….

I say Saad, played well last week!

      Jye · 09/04/2015 at 23:10

      Thanks for the reply mate!

    Alex · 09/04/2015 at 23:11

I would start Saad as B. Goodes is listed on the bench & could wear the vest

      Frank · 10/04/2015 at 00:13

Pretty confident Grant will wear the vest again. Goodes not really an impact player.

    judd0 · 09/04/2015 at 23:23

Saad got the higher score this week, and against the saints you would expect him to do that again.
Which ever one you choose the other one will score more, that's usually how it works. Good luck mate

    phil · 10/04/2015 at 13:57

Just to confuse you i reckon Goodes. More likely to go 100+ and hurt you

    Bonters · 10/04/2015 at 17:07

Jez · 09/04/2015 at 22:40

Thanks for the advice Jock, sage as always! I suspect I will end up doing what you suggested, whacking the VC on Gray and going with Fyfe as captain with the loophole if Gray doesn't go big enough.

Sulzeer · 09/04/2015 at 22:47

Got rocky, looking to trade in Sloane but not 100% sold! other mids Lewis, Fyfe, Judd, Mitchell, griffin and rookies, Adelaide has a good run up to the bye rounds.. But wondering what other options community think, probable pendles…

    Sully321 · 09/04/2015 at 23:05

I would consider wines, gray, JPK

      Sulzeer · 09/04/2015 at 23:22

Got Gray up fwd, would you consider Wines a top 10 mid? Sort of wanna keep this trade a permanent thing, JPK I like but I've always had him in my teams so looking for a bit more pod too

    LEKD0G · 09/04/2015 at 23:24

Sloane won't disappoint but others may go bigger, for consistency i'd look at Sloane

      Sulzeer · 09/04/2015 at 23:27

That's my line of thought Lekdog consistent performer

        LEKD0G · 10/04/2015 at 00:17

I'm looking to get him in ASAP

nick · 09/04/2015 at 22:58

I had rocky and Sidebottom bought in ebert and lewis think ebert for me could be a good move he always gets 30 plus postions against the swans and might make a bit of money what u guys think

    LEKD0G · 09/04/2015 at 23:24

I like it, Ebert will get off the leash this year

CashCows · 09/04/2015 at 22:59

What the f should i do with Scott Selwood, do i go down to vandenberg/newton/rich/jong? if i trade him out i have $501k,
my rookie mids are miller, cripps, nelson, heeney, CEY

or do i swing robbie gray to mids, bring in tex?

news say it is only precautionary rest due to the 6 day break….but i probably don't need an inconsistency in the engine room…

    LEKD0G · 09/04/2015 at 23:25

i'd hold onto him mate, should have the rookies to cover him

      CashCows · 10/04/2015 at 00:08

even if i am chasing overall position? currently ranked 1200

        LEKD0G · 10/04/2015 at 00:19

yeah mate the 20-30 points you might lose by playing yoleman are worth it, overall rank is a marathon. Have to conserve trades and wait until you see a player of real value worth picking up. Tex won't score 170, will suck people in. If you didn't start him there was a reason

          CashCows · 10/04/2015 at 13:42

          cool head!

    Matt · 09/04/2015 at 23:27

In the same boat brother. Im holding onto him, but Im praying that ankle of his is alright.

      CashCows · 09/04/2015 at 23:31

I would like to hope his ankle is safe, only problem is if he doesn't play next week and need to make corrections..if in doubt hold.. talked sense into me..hold!

    derek · 10/04/2015 at 10:50

    bang bang!

james · 09/04/2015 at 23:01

who should i start on field?

goodes or saad
cripps, vandenberg, ellis-yolmen
salem hogan

    CashCows · 09/04/2015 at 23:03

    Saad,Cripps, Salem for me

    Motsy · 09/04/2015 at 23:21

    Goodes, CEY, Hogan

      CashCows · 09/04/2015 at 23:34

Phil davis perhaps on hogan this week, not much output from saints KPF last week and Dawes back in..

    LEKD0G · 09/04/2015 at 23:25

    Saad, Cripps, Salem too

    dkm · 10/04/2015 at 10:36

    im going vandenberg

Frank · 09/04/2015 at 23:09

Goodes, Vandenberg, Hogan for me

KJU FC · 09/04/2015 at 23:13

VC/C is going on Griffen this week for me.

Going up against Melbourne at his home ground.

could go massive!

    LEKD0G · 09/04/2015 at 23:26

VC is a good call, would have been ripped to shreds by the coaches after last week

      Frank · 09/04/2015 at 23:42

Mad Mick had a different theory
"What happened in round 1 was Griffen got a hard tag from Weller and smart coaching moved him forward. The tag went with him and the Giant’s midfield dominated through Sheil, Ward, Greene and Treloar".

If anything Griff might have given himself a spray. I like him for VC this week also, regardless.

    Bowski · 10/04/2015 at 02:43

How is everyone doing the VC loophole with a full side?? My only non player is Cox from Collinwood and his game is Saturday arvo. Gray & Fyfe ply after him? How you all doing it??

      Spifflicator · 10/04/2015 at 07:40

I am using Blakely from Freo, I also have Fyfe. They make an excellent pair. Play Sunday's most weeks so he is the perfect donut for loopholing. I have to choose if I use him as Emergency loophole with Cripps or Captains loophole with Heeney/Yolmen

      derek · 10/04/2015 at 10:48

most people have a non-playing rookie at R3

      T-mitch · 10/04/2015 at 12:47

Cox was wrong selection, I went with Reid from Geelong who play a lot of Sunday games

James · 09/04/2015 at 23:15

Not much talk about Heppell?

    LEKD0G · 09/04/2015 at 23:27

No preseason, will drop in value

      Locked and Loaded · 10/04/2015 at 09:59

Lekdog he looked solid against last years GF's ans scored a 117 to boot. He did have pre season was just his last month that was interrupted wasn't it, correct me if i'm wrong?

nick · 09/04/2015 at 23:18

I have lamb and he played poorly might not get a run again. is it worth using a trade to go to another rookie like McCarthy from gws?

    LEKD0G · 09/04/2015 at 23:27

    not yet mate

      Jye · 09/04/2015 at 23:37

What about to someone like McGrath? Still too early?

        Motsy · 10/04/2015 at 00:20

We have another week to look at McGrath mate. Have a gander and see how he goes first.

        LEKD0G · 10/04/2015 at 00:20

too early, don't trade rookies in until you know you will see their 3rd game price change

    CashCows · 09/04/2015 at 23:38

It wasn't poor it was raw..he will get games on and off like lambert..he will be dropped probably due to wet weather in perth and Carlton have some quicks..darling is still out and will be for a while!

Nutz · 09/04/2015 at 23:20

Lets pretend this is the last week, any the only game that matters, for me I do not care about any other round this year except for winning this one.

Ablett and Cripps to ~600k premium and Wallis.

Do I do it or take a punt on Ablett to be magical?

    CashCows · 09/04/2015 at 23:36

Problem is the amount of trades you normally have last round and the circumstances are different..punt on ablett being magical

brandon · 09/04/2015 at 23:27

thanks for the reply jock, love ya work!!

LEKD0G · 09/04/2015 at 23:28

Hold Gablett, loophole Cripps score if you can

    BigDropKick · 10/04/2015 at 13:36

    Loophole Cripps ?

    Crowls · 10/04/2015 at 13:43

lekdog. i take it i need a nonplaying rookie to do this. lack of dpp is hurting when we need to do this stuff

      LEKD0G · 10/04/2015 at 15:57

Yeah, Lambert not playing last week made it easy, not so much this week

tom · 09/04/2015 at 23:29

say ablett comes out this week and scores 100-110

do we trade him or keep him?

    Bowski · 10/04/2015 at 02:45

I dont think you can. You'll just have to trade him back in later, waste of trades.

    Spifflicator · 10/04/2015 at 07:50

I think he is likely to score 64 from 22 possessions, and could drop $200k by round 5. Wish I had Waynos time machine to confirm :). I may late trade him this week to either Pendles or Treloar.

Stevo · 09/04/2015 at 23:30

Can someone explain to me how the Emergency Loophole works?

    Frank · 09/04/2015 at 23:36

Need a donut on the line in question – say Hugh Goddard in backline. Put McIntosh on bench with the E. He plays Sat 2pm. If he gets injured 1st quarter on 5sc points, put say Oxley on the field and Hugh on bench. Then you get Oxleys score. If he scores 90 points put Hugh on ground leave Oxley on bench without an E on him. You get McIntosh's score.

Jaden · 09/04/2015 at 23:47

Hey guys i accidentally picked Tom Mitchell in my team. Should i trade him down to a Jaden Mcgrath or is there anyone else i could get for 410k?

    Frank · 10/04/2015 at 00:00

    Strange accident!
I’ve been keen on Jake Stringer all pre-season and wish I’d started with him after watching his Round 1 game a couple of times. His 95 could easily have been a 130. Was impressive tonight on The Footy Show not that it means much, except to say he’s a pretty impressive unit all-round.

      Jaden · 10/04/2015 at 00:13

Cheers Mate. Yeah i assumed he might be playing and didn't bother checking the teams. Haha. Great POD!!!!!

        Frank · 10/04/2015 at 00:17

He is indeed… just keep it quiet!

          derek · 10/04/2015 at 10:04

I accidently picked Travis Cloke 😉

NathanDee-troit · 09/04/2015 at 23:47

Made and reversed trades about a dozen times in the last couple of days. Then some words of wsidoms floated into my head…. CALM THE F%#@$ DOWN! Unless you have an injured player that is going to miss 3weeks plus, hold. Stick to your structures, trust your preseason research. I for one will not be trading this week.

    Sarah · 10/04/2015 at 10:03

    Same here!!

    derek · 10/04/2015 at 10:45

what if TBC is injured? no cover!

Cyril is Delicious · 09/04/2015 at 23:55

Community, all the talk about the cheap ruckmen Leuy and TBC, I would love to hear the community’s thoughts in Brodie Grundy around that price? His cheap, a breakout contender, and the only ruckmen at Collingwood. Thoughts on his selection?

    Frank · 10/04/2015 at 00:05

I have one-eyed bias being a Woodsman but I’m pretty happy with him in my team. Had a few real unlucky clangers and some rubbish free kicks paid against him. His 73 could have been much higher. Was in the votes on Sunday Footy Show as BOG.

Jonesy · 10/04/2015 at 00:13

If your strategy includes value rucks or you have TBC at R2 get on Mckernan… TBC will TBA this week and more no doubt ! Mckernan and TBC will give you FWD and RCK cover also… Not mention they will grow in value.

Bontemgasmic · 10/04/2015 at 00:44

Lamb to Hogan or wait ?

    Bontemgasmic · 10/04/2015 at 01:06

to expand – I also have TBC at F4 – worried he could be a late out and I would be forced to field Lonie.

      Spifflicator · 10/04/2015 at 07:55

Wait. Like you I am worried about TBC, after his great start McKernans inclusion is a worry, is he injured, or is Essendon trying to combat the Hawks talls?

May need to hold a trade in the cupboard ready for Sunday.

        Motsy · 10/04/2015 at 08:58

He’s had some minor work done on his knee. Could be a late out or sub candidate. Have a look at the team’s for Sunday tonight. If mckernan is in it could be a bit of a worry.

        Bontemgasmic · 10/04/2015 at 18:06

Doesn't help when Lamb plays in first game.

PJay · 10/04/2015 at 01:16

If you're playing for league wins, keep in mind that we hypothetically have more trades this year than last year. That's because the league competition only goes for 22 rounds this year, compared to 23 rounds last year.
This year we have 1.3636 (30/22) trades per round, compared to last years 1.3043 (30/23) trades per round.
I hope that makes us feel better if we've already blown 2 trades.

    Bowski · 10/04/2015 at 02:48

Too early to trade no matter what mathematical equation you come up with!!

      Spifflicator · 10/04/2015 at 07:56

That is a SC myth Bowski. Winners have always traded in round 1, and more often 2 trades rather one.

Daniel · 10/04/2015 at 02:40

Im considering something, im going to put Cripps and ibbotson on the bench this week, i do believe my rookie cover (vandenberg, saad) can outscore them. What do you think?

    throttlefinger · 10/04/2015 at 06:43

Can you loop either/both, Dman? I'm going to with Cripps, which will be easy as he's playing first.

The danger of what you're considering is that Cripps and Ibbo are capable of going much higher and Vandy and Saad could very well underperform. End of day, go with your gut. But loop if you can.

      BigDropKick · 10/04/2015 at 13:40

what is the " loop " ( excuse my ignorance ) …. like capt' loophole ?

        throttlefinger · 10/04/2015 at 19:40

Yes, BDK. Loop=loophole. I have Krak in my midfield. So I was going to loop Cripps and if he got a good score, keep Krak on the field. If not bring in CEY. But seeing as Cripp is a late out, that won't be going on. Joy!

          Ty · 14/04/2015 at 11:23

          To do the Loophole ….
Do I put Captain on a someone not playing , then put Vice Captain on someone playing in an early game …. take score if it's good , if not then switch Captaincy to Someone else playing ?

    Ben Bretel · 10/04/2015 at 11:30

mate you don't want 340 thousand dollar players on the bench if you don't trust him trade him. you picked him for a reason

thewhale · 10/04/2015 at 06:56

is D,martin to inconsistent after watching him last week reminded me of him last year lazy in some games other games super star

    Motsy · 10/04/2015 at 09:00

We all knew this when we picked him up. Unless you’re going for league wins avgs is all that matters!

Bill · 10/04/2015 at 08:00

Is it worth trading around Rookies? I have all the main ones (Heeney, CEY, Saad, McIntosh) but I have Krakouer and Hamling who both didn't play.

I only have $9,500 in spare cash, but was thinking, should I downgrade Sheed to a cheaper rookie (e.g. McGrath via DPP movement), and use some of that cash on upgrading Krakouer to say Vandenberg?
I'm happy to keep Sheed for another week, but I'm concerned Krakouer won't get promoted and won't play much this year.

    Doc2Drej · 10/04/2015 at 08:06

Keep Sheed, give him a chance to show you what he’s capable of

    derek · 10/04/2015 at 10:14

I kept Krakouer as a loophole in the fwd and mid (via DDP). gives me an option to bench a rookie in fwd line and mids and if they do well I can have krakouer on field to take.

If you don't have Vandenberg you should try and get him, but you don't have enough cash.

Doc2Drej · 10/04/2015 at 08:04

Which 2 do I start out of Hallahan, Cripps, Vandenberg, Heeney and CEY, and who should be my emergency? Am thinking of starting Hallahan and Cripps with the E on Vandenberg. Thoughts?

    Jdogg · 10/04/2015 at 08:29

I am going Cripps as emergency and vandenberg, CEY and Heeney all starting. Will see how he goes tonight though.

      derek · 10/04/2015 at 10:15

I will put cripps as E, but I have Krakouer as loophole if needed.

Jack · 10/04/2015 at 08:12

I’m not usually one for round 1 trading but I have this week and I need some reassurance.

Kolodjashnij OUT – N. Brown IN (will sit on the bench with Goodes, Macintosh and Saad on field)

Maric OUT – Sloane (via a few DPP’s)

I think I’m gaining enough points to warrant trading in round 1. Someone tell me I’m doing the right thing.

    Jdogg · 10/04/2015 at 08:28

Thumper is out for me too mate. I really like the two rooks from last week.

      derek · 10/04/2015 at 10:18

at quarter time last week I was feeling very happy about my Thumper selection, I think he was on about 30SC. If he is left alone to do what he does best, he will score very well.

        Jdogg · 10/04/2015 at 11:59

Derek I know what you are saying and being at the game I can tell you they were awful.

Concern is that Eade is going to send him on a tag as son as times get tough. This means inconsistent scoring at best and we now have two rookies scoring well in the backline (one for his team).

    Frank · 10/04/2015 at 09:01

I'd give Goodes a spot on field myself, was around the ball all game, big chance to improve on 68 this week. I think he'll outscore both Kmac and Saad. But your call. Big decisions regarding who to play/rest this week; will be interesting round. Good luck

      derek · 10/04/2015 at 10:20

well done on your score last week Frank. Nice start.

I'm not a Goodes fan, didn't put him in my team even though he looks great value, just don't think he will get that many games. the bloke was delisted by the dogs last year!!

        Jack · 10/04/2015 at 10:46

Sorry, poorly worded. Goodes is on the field.

My backline now looks like this:
        H. Shaw, J. Newnes, S. Higgins, B. Goodes, K. Macintosh, A. Saad (N.Brown and A. Oxley)

I think I’m feeling good about the trades now. I really rate Rory Sloane and I see Maric and Bellchambers having similar output. I’ll just have to wait and see if round 1 trading bites me in the rear. Hopefully KK doesn’t go big!

        Cheers for the feedback!

        Frank · 10/04/2015 at 10:57

Cheers derek. Hopefully my boys can back it up.

Jdogg · 10/04/2015 at 08:27

Not too unhappy with Lamb not playing this week as it allows me to use loophole to have a free look at him (and replace if he spuds). I am a big believer in holding the line usually but I have decided to move to a two rook backline after watching Saad and McIntosh play last week. Thumper is out and Dalgliesh is in. Spare cash will be used to upgrade Salem or Cripps (potentially).

    Jdogg · 10/04/2015 at 08:43

Sorry by him I am referring to Lambert

    derek · 10/04/2015 at 10:30

Lamb plays Friday night, can't use him as loophole

      Jdogg · 10/04/2015 at 11:56

Bugger! Don’t know what I was thinking there! Call it a Thursday night panic move.

BigDropKick · 10/04/2015 at 09:18

Should I put Cripps or Vandenberg on the field ?

    I N Pieman · 10/04/2015 at 10:01

Little concerned Vandenberg may get the vest. But I’d still go him. Can’t trust Cripps after last week

DigDug · 10/04/2015 at 09:23

Is Taylor Hunt worth having a look at as a downgrade target? (assuming that I am definitely making a trade in my defence) looks like he's playing in the midfield and fits in with Richmond's playing style.

Interested in the communities thoughts on him?

    I N Pieman · 10/04/2015 at 09:59

Will have a close look at him this weekend

sean · 10/04/2015 at 09:35

would it be a bad idea to hold rockliff? i have this as cover in my midfield. thoughts??

7. Ablett, G
8. Judd, C
9. Vandenberg, A
10. Parker, L
11. Heeney, I
12. Ellis-Yolmen, C
13. Griffen, R
14. Selwood, J

25. Rockliff, T
26. Cripps, P
27. Anderson, J

    Sarah · 10/04/2015 at 10:08

Your call, but 4+ weeks is a long time to have that kind of money on the bench.

    derek · 10/04/2015 at 10:23

if it was two or even three weeks I would hold, but I think they are talking 5-6 weeks.

I would get in Fyfe or JPK

      sean · 10/04/2015 at 10:42

      thanks. just grabbed fyfe.

Kevin · 10/04/2015 at 10:02

Hey guys, should I trade Brett Deledio or Tom Lamb ??

    derek · 10/04/2015 at 10:24

Deledio is only out for one week, so I would hold him, althought I believe he would have most likely been rested this week because of his leg, which is a bit of a worry.

Mac · 10/04/2015 at 10:16

I don't understand how you loophole someone like Cripps? Can someone please explain?

    I N Pieman · 10/04/2015 at 10:38

First if all Mac you need a someone not playing in your midfield. If you put the emergency on Cripps & Cripps scores well then you out the non playing player on the ground & you get the emergency score.

derek · 10/04/2015 at 10:42

I have Bellchambers at R2 (no swing) Goldy is R1. if he is a late out, what should I do? I only have $32k in bank.

1) Take the donut
2) Trade to Grundy (best I can afford with just one trade)
3) Downgrade Goldy (Nic Nat) and upgrade TBC (Z Smith)
4) Trade in Mckernan

    Mac · 10/04/2015 at 11:20

I would look at who you are versing in your league. If you think you can get the win with keeping him, don't trade. That's just my opinion anyway. I guess that's if your going for league wins as well…

SuperCoach Cup is open EXCLUSIVELY to participants who have a digital subscription to one or more of the following websites: http://www.heraldsun.com.au, http://www.couriermail.com.au, http://www.theadvertiser.com.au, http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au or http://www.foxsports.com.au.

what is a digital subscription?

    Frank · 10/04/2015 at 11:08

Online newspaper. $3 a week I think. Click on the Find Out More tab right at the bottom of your team page beneath My Latest Achievements

    SCaddict · 10/04/2015 at 11:33

You can get a complimentary digital subscription if you are a Foxtel subscriber (some conditions might apply).

I used to have to pay $16pm to get the digital pass to access Supercoach live scores but this year now that I already have Fox Footy I get this free which is better than a kick in the pants.

      derek · 10/04/2015 at 11:38

thanks SC, I have fox footy, i'll investigate.

      Josh · 10/04/2015 at 16:14

How does this work I've being trying to find out details. Thanks

        SCaddict · 10/04/2015 at 16:30

Just follow this link and click on the button at the bottom of the page "CHECK ELIGIBILITY"

I then think you have to login with your Foxtel account iirc. It took a little bit of frigging around but it was worth it to get free live SC scores.

Seb · 10/04/2015 at 11:15

If Bellchambers isn't playing, who is the better option, Ayce Cordy or Shaun Mckernan

    derek · 10/04/2015 at 11:27

I'm in same position, I am looking at Grundy if I had to make a trade.

    Fluff · 10/04/2015 at 12:41

What's the probability of him dropped. Has there been any news?

Rawkus11 · 10/04/2015 at 11:19

G'day community!
Was thinking if Mummy doesn't score much better this week do you think it's worth getting on the skin flute and taking the 130k?

These new ruck rules are doin my bloody head in!!

    derek · 10/04/2015 at 11:31

I'm predicting the rucks are going to have a better week. I think there was none of the big ruckmen had a 120+ game because they didn't play well enough.

If a few of them come out and smash out 120+ scores, then we will all be talking about getting them back in, especially if the second tier rucks have a few poor scores.

a week in SC is a long time!

I have Goldy and he is a season long keeper, so I don't care if his price falls or goes up. TBC though was a steppingstone to a fallen premium, I need to get 5-6 games out of him at good output, fatten up and pick up a fallen keeper.

    SCaddict · 10/04/2015 at 11:39

I wouldn't sideways to another ruck premo as they all will be affected by these new changes to some degree.

So I'd either hold or downgrade to a likely underpriced Leuey/Blicavs type if Mummy again can't tonne up this weekend.

Normally It's an anathema to consider downgrading a premo to a midpricer but this is an exceptional circumstance.

Still the best thing to do In this particular situation is to give things one more week before you make a call there just to confirm we are not jumping at shadows here.

tom · 10/04/2015 at 11:37

next week could be a disaster for me.

I'm looking at 4 potential trades.

Griffen if he scores under par again.
Ablett if he's shoulder still looks no good.
Hamling to Oxley or other rookie.
Lamb to McGrath or other rookie.

If both Ablett and Griffen underperform or Lamb and Hamling are not named again I'm going to need to make 4 trades in a week where we can only make 2.

Should I take the risk on trading Hamling/Lamb to another rookie this week or go early on trading out Griffen?
Or should I just stick fat and hope that Griffen and Ablett perform or Lamb gets named?

    SCaddict · 10/04/2015 at 12:25

I'd leave your rookies alone there as there is too much uncertainty how that will play out right now. Lamb could very well be back the following week and Oxley has to show us more before we all jump on.

I also think we have to hold on Griffen for now and hope for the best there as there is no indication that he is injured and his scores have fluctuated a fair bit in the past.

Gaz is another kettle of fish though. Didn't look at all right so I'm more concerned there. Perhaps we never get another whiff of this shoulder problem again and he pumps out a 150 this weekend but I have my genuine doubts there.

I'm considering making a huge call and trading him myself this week, although the extra $120K generated going to Sloane/JPK would allow me to implement a necessary structural fix elsewhere in my team, so there is an additional motivation to do this in my own situation.

    derek · 10/04/2015 at 12:29

i'll be watching Ablett very close this week. If he is carrying his arm he may not be in my team next week before the price changes.

He has Geelong week 3, worried about that.

Andy Bull · 10/04/2015 at 12:23

Goodes or McIntosh for F6 this week?

    derek · 10/04/2015 at 12:30

Goodes has been named as interchange, he might get vest.

      KJU FC · 10/04/2015 at 12:33

He has been named interchanged but so has Grant who I'm pretty sure was sub last week?

would be disastrous if he is named sub for my team.

I'd wait a week though Andy unless Goodes is named sub. You never know if McIntosh will come out and score 4 points or get injured.

        @Seekersupacoach · 10/04/2015 at 13:11

I think Grant will get the snot vest again this week

    Andy Bull · 10/04/2015 at 13:24

Cheers. I have both and think KMc will get the start over Goodes this week in my team.

Dave · 10/04/2015 at 12:33

have downgraded newnes to t.hunt after watching him against the blues, massive pill gatherer off half back.
was thinking of downgrading d. swallow to van berlo, but i think that's just a case of itchy fingers. Thoughts community?

    Kurt · 10/04/2015 at 12:36

Downgrading newnes is a case of pulling the trigger too early Dave. Save the trade, the kid will come good

      Dave · 10/04/2015 at 17:52

have reversed hoping hunt doesn't have plenty of kicks again and that newnes puts some points on the board this week (Y)

Kevin · 10/04/2015 at 12:34

Hey guys which trade is better:

Deledio to Bartel, Roughead or Tex

Tom Lamb to Jesse Hogan

    SCaddict · 10/04/2015 at 12:49

My own personal preference is Bartel although the only issue is that he could be a late out coming back from that concussion.

Whether you hold or trade Lids you definitely need to have Hogan in your team so you have to bring him in somehow either this week or next.

      derek · 10/04/2015 at 14:41

Hogan is a dead set GUN. must for your team.

Hazza_08 · 10/04/2015 at 12:35

Thoughts on Maric > Nic Nat to go cockatoo > Van Berlo. Cheers community

    Frank · 10/04/2015 at 13:10

    keep cockatoo, keep maric

      derek · 10/04/2015 at 14:42

      keep cockatoo, keep maric

Tuk · 10/04/2015 at 12:50

Dear community,

Looking for some advice if TBC is a late withdrawal. I have him as R2 and of course there is no bench cover. If he is a late withdrawal, Is it worth a trade to cover the zero of do I cop it on the chin and stick with him? Additionally, who to trade in? Im only able to straight swap (only got ~ 15k in the bank). I don’t see it viable to swing him to the FWD line as I’d have to trade out a Swan, Martin or Bartel to get any ruckman who is playing. Ruck dramas starting early, could be a long year in that department.

Cheers in advance

    Sarah · 10/04/2015 at 13:04

This is why I was advocating starting with ruck cover all preseason. If you've got a little bit of money in the bank, and don't want to cop a zero this week, then Grundy or Leuenberger might be the way to go. This would however, still leave you vulnerable in subsequent round to ruckmen missing games. Another option would be to trade either bartel or Martin to a premium ruck (Nic Nat or Maric) and move Bellchambers to the forward line where he can be covered by a forward bench rookie. This will at least ensure you've got ruck cover for the remainder of the year and mean you 'hopefully' only have to trade in that department once.

      BundyBear · 10/04/2015 at 14:08

I like your way of thinking Sarah

Sarah · 10/04/2015 at 13:00

Maric to NicNat doesn't even make you $50k… hardly worth even thinking about imo.

Super_Freak · 10/04/2015 at 13:18

Hey JR community, after peoples opinions on Mr Eddie Betts. I know he has never been SC relevant, but he was the highest averaging player in the NAB. I know the NAB doesn't mean a lot, but he seems to be running more through the midfield, and he came out R1 and smashed it with a score of 155.

Just a bit curious that no one seems to even be mentioning him.

    Kev · 10/04/2015 at 13:51

Would take the scores in a 13 goal win with a grain of salt, SF. Crows are pretty well stocked in the middle. Will watch with interest though this weekend to see if it is infact a role change. 4 goals, 7 tackles, 8 marks, and 21 possessions is nothing to sneeze at

    Sarah · 10/04/2015 at 14:28

Hey Super_Freak. I'm a massive crows fan and am watching Eddie's scores closely for 1 more week too. He played through the middle or off the back of the square more often than not against North and during the NAB, getting centre clearances and midfield possies, and importantly, getting him into the game early. It should be noted that he started off the back of the square in the very first centre bounce of the North game… before we'd established a winning lead.
As you say he's never been supercoach relevant before so I think watching him for 1 more week is prudent before potentially bringing him in as a POD. I'll also point out that Brad Crouch and Thompson are missing from the team at the moment, so it does remain to be seen whether he'll continue to rotate through there as much when they come back but my gut would say yes given he did throughout the NAB when they were also in the side.
Massive POD, massive risk and potentially massive reward…

      Super_Freak · 10/04/2015 at 15:21

Exactly my thinking Sarah. His average over the last 4 games he's played is a whopping 133. He did have a sub 100 score in there but, but 81 is still above his 2014 average. Remember Lekdog mentioning a few weeks back that he also averages above 80 when Tex is playing. Very tempting!

Rick · 10/04/2015 at 13:21

Watch griffen score 110 this week, your welcome 🙂

    Sarah · 10/04/2015 at 14:28

    Hope so!

BundyBear · 10/04/2015 at 14:07

I am confused now. I know how the captain loophole thing works. But now Im hearing about player loopholes. Can someone please explain to me how that would work.

    Sarah · 10/04/2015 at 14:29

Same as the captain loophole without putting the captain tag on the player scoring zero.

      BundyBear · 10/04/2015 at 14:37

Thankyou for the reply. I am too dumb to work all that out. So I think I will play it safe and hope that Cripps goes large tonight. Any score is better then a mistake
