Jock’s Supercoach Team Reveal 2015

Published by Jock on

AFL Supercoach Legend Jock ReynoldsLadies and gentleman – I present to you JR Brumby FC 2015.

This has been as difficult a preseason as I can remember in my 37 years in fantasy footy. A lot of this comes down to the fact that we’ve got stuff all available down back – and the fact that we only have one big bloke sitting on the pine in the ruck. I want to commend all of you for the manner in which you’ve gone about things during a stressful time. I’m one hell of a proud leader as I sit here this evening.

This is my team as it stands this evening. As is the case with all of us – a bit depends on what’s handed down to the Essendon Football club. A lot still needs to play out re: rookie elevation. And there will be a few curve balls with team selection.

Having said that community – I’m ready to field my most aggressive and attacking Supercoach team this decade.

JR Brumby FC 2015

Wayno's Supercoach War Pigs

My structure: A departure from the Guns and Rookies strategy

Many will know I’ve long been a fierce advocate for pure Guns N Rookies strategy. But to stay at the very top in this caper you need to transform yourself – just like the game transforms. The simple fact is this – I do not believe that in 2015 a true Guns N Rookies structure is achievable without exposing too many bald spud rookies on field early. The risk of carrying some early donuts is huge this season – not only down back, but critically in your ruck division.

My strategy

I refuse to load my defense to D5. I’m dead set certain that too many are trying to go too deep back there with blokes they’ve conned themselves into thinking can get the job done. I don’t want to be stuck with a basket of overpriced under performing crap defensive bloody lemons.

I want to be in a position where I can pick off the quality defensive options as they emerge in the lead up to the byes. I need Ibbotson or Goodes to provide me reasonable early output – and critically – I’ll be looking at using at least one of those blokes along with a rookie as a stepping stone to the defensive options that put their hand up as the season progresses.

Selections of community debate

Scott Lycett

My point of difference folks – could turn into Tom Bellchambers of the ASADA thing clears him.

I’ve warmed to him as an option the longer the preseason has progressed. And I’m not convinced of Nic Nat’s ability to deliver in the first half of the season or spend extended stints on the ball. I’m expecting him to spend more time in the ruck this season than some are anticipating – and he’s also got more to offer as a fantasy footballer than most realise. A massive factor in my decision to run with Lycett is his FWD/RUCK eligibility. Mark my words – don’t prepare for the worst with your rucks this season and you’ll pay the price.

Daniel Rich

Been on him all preseason and I highly recommend him as a mid priced midfield option. Will run off half back and work into the midfield from day dot – and should benefit from the likes of Beams, Rockliff and Co copping the heavy attention. Don’t forget what a weapon this kid is – he’s fit – he’s hungry and I’m expecting big things here.

No Pendlebury

I’m not to keen on Collingwood at all this year folks. Today’s news doesn’t help. Predicting a hell of a tough season for the Pies. Pendles will have stuff all support around him in the guts and I believe we’ll see a fair old price reduction into the byes here. No doubts he’s a proven fantasy monolith- but too many doubts in the old scone for me to go with him. Will look for him around bye time at a reasonable discount.

Robbie Gray

Have come around to him over the past week. I’m still concerned that his price will drop early – but with only GAJ and Fyfe as extreme top enders in the guts I’m wary of the need for some robust potential C/VC fodder early if The Great Gary Ablett ends up struggling with the shoulder.

Mitch Clark

Don’t tell him this – but will be a very likely late inclusion. Leaving him out for the time being to send a very clear message to the young man.. you need to prove yourself this season son. And you need to play at least 6 games on the trot.

Big Ivan & The Flute

Very pleased with big Ivan and Minson. As Micky mentioned in the podcast – the expensive rucks will BLEED cash early because of the changed ruck scoring system. Changed scoring system taken into account – both of  these blokes are at unders – and both are capable of finishing as top 3 2015 ruckman.

What’s nagging at me

Ibbotson. Goodes. Rich. These blokes will win me the $50K – or provide me with a big arse headache.

This is as lean a midfield as I have entered a season with. I have some concern over my underpriced midfield premiums in Griffen, Swallow and Judd – and may upgrade one of those blokes if Bellchambers is let off the hook.

Look forward to the discussion community.

Okay… ….I am really spit between Cripps and Newton. Can someone convince me who to pick?

General Soreness

Cripps had an average of 101 points over nab while Newton only averaged 68…

68 from 58% game time mate

Even then Newton's average per 100 mins is only 117 points while cripps' average per 100 minutes is 136 points

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback – although I really am still unsure. I'll just go with my get I guess…

Actually, Newton scored 55 (from86%), 84 (from70%) and 65 (from68%). Average of 68 from 74.7% game time

Actually swordfish if you look at the newtons first game he was subbed out at half time so no way he played 86% game time

gotta have both at the start IMO

kyle k

Nice jock. I too am waiting on belly to see if he’s off the hook. Looks light in the mid as you say and interesting outlook on Pendles which is interesting that you keep swan if you reckon the pies will struggle.

Agree with Jock on Collingwood and have no faith that Bucks has the group, therefore no Pendles (first time without him ever!) and no Swan either. I know Swan doesn't need much to increase in price, and is a proven fantasy pig, I know he cuts sick Anzac Day, but still think Bennell will be a better F3.

I bloody love it you little ripper. Lycett? Balls of steel.

Anyone got any thoughts or suggestions?

H.Shaw – M.Johnson – J.Newnes – J.Adcock – J.Hamling – A.Saad
(A.Oxley – K.McIntosh)

N.Fyfe – J.Selwood – D.Beams – T.Boak – R.Griffen – P.Cripps – J.Anderson – C.Ellis Yolmen
(I.Heeney – A.Vandenberg – T.Miller)

W.Minson – N.Naitanui

R.Gray – D.Martin – H.Bennell – D.Swan – C.Salem – M.Clark
(J.Hogan – K.Lambert)

3k left over

Looks a strong side Jeremy. IMO have gone off Anderson, Hawks too strong and will vest if picked, don't know if I'd go with Adcock and have gone with the Bont over Swan (will get close to giving you Newton over Anderson), otherwise same Forwards, which I think is a super strong line.

What do you guys think of hurn?

Good pick. M.Johnson should average slightly higher though. So will Harry Taylor probably who is cheaper.

cow roll

good kick but slow. will get beaten for pace in contest.
without McKenzie as a support is a factor.

Fantastic player but misses too many games lately to attract the interest of the majority of coaches. However if he can play 20 plus games in 2015 he should reward those who take the punt on him as he's one of the best kicks in the game.

It's just there are plenty of former burned Hurn buyers out there the past few years so there is a durability risk you would be assuming in picking him much like the big Mummy.

almost a lock at some point to get injured in the first 5 minutes of a game and gutted subbed out under 10 sc

thoughts on juddy this year??

Should be a good pick and earn their owners some cash with a decent shot at points production in excess of 100.

However unlikely to be a season long keeper and probably more of a stepping stone to an elite I would think.

I perhaps like Scooter Selwood a little more for similar purposes but that's my own gut feel which could prove wrong.

General Soreness

A departure from Guns & Rookies is the understatement of 2015. Lots of Mid Priced madness in the mids has me really scratching my head. Was this put together at Bairnsdale?

You have taken hold of your plums and placed them firmly on the chopping block with your uniqueness , however I fear this will result in your eunuchness!

I love the Lycett selection I've been trying to get him in my FWD line for a while

He’s been in my team for a while. Now it just looks like I’ve copied Jock. Bellchambers might be the better pick now anyway.

Nathan Krakouer is useless spend a little more and get Jed Anderson or Mitch Wallis.

I'm pretty sure Jock only has krak in the midfield to swing him with either Lambert, swan, martin or grey

Love the team Jock. Would you consider running Lycett and TBC with say Maric to free up $200k? Thoughts?

Gold Rush

Where's Clark and Higgins Jock?

Love the team Jock! You are an absolute genius. Biggest concern of mine though is the slim midfield, as the midfield is where most points are scored. And 100% agree with the backup ruck in fwd line! It would be stupid going in without one.

Not really, If Nic Nat fires early as I expect! I can always replace him with bell balls if that is the right call at the time

Dammit Jock, Lycett is my shark move!!!

cow roll

mine too. would not TBC even though he's better value for money. – he's a tool and gets injured too often.

cow roll

i have one more shark move and i'm glad every one has revealed their team.
have you got another one up your sleeves?

Don't think so. I've gone with a 4-4-2-4 structure, which has more midfield rookies than most peoples structures with no midpricers (which are all the rage this year)… maybe that's a shark move?!

Lycett was in my FWD line for most of the preseason as I do think the will be the highest scoring Ruck/FWD this year. However, as I have gone 2 premium rucks, I've decided to run the gauntlet and start without FWD ruck cover. If one of my rucks goes down for a long time I'll need to trade him anyway. If it's only a couple of weeks then that's when I will bring in the DPP FWD which I think will be Lycett. I'm not sure his price will change that much. Maybe Ryder could also be an option then at a lower price.

To have a DPP as late emergency ruck cover is a little fanciful as you'd need any late changes to be early round so you weren't locked out from making the necessary changes – e.g. not much good if your ruck DPP bench rookie's team plays early in the round.

It's the 'being rested' for a week type things that I'm hoping to cover with Lycett. Last year I traded Ryder for a 1 week ankle injury to Mumford, and then traded him out a week later due to his knee. If I'd had ruck cover, I wouldn't have wasted these two trades which would've been vital later in the season. All rucks miss a game at some stage. I think cover is a necessity.
You make a good point regarding the 'late outs' though, and that's always a risk unfortunately that you can't necessarily cover for.

Me too. But now we’ll all be jumping on Bellchambers.

Maric or Nic Nat?

Big Ivan

cow roll

great question. – Maric for consistency and he has a better team to support him.

maric is the safe option

What's the situation with the rolling lockout rd 1?

Does it count towards our 30 trades if we trade in between The Carlton game and Saturday?

Only relevant because the teams are announced an hour before the game T_T

Doesn't count until end of round 1

Surprised you didn't select Wallis Jock! Don't reckon he will cut it anymore, or is it just that you prefer Rich? Solid POD team mate, not called the Father for nothing.

surely they won't use him to tag with libba going down

Don’t think Beveridge will run much of a tagger at the Doggies & agree they need Wallis as an extractor in & under this year with no Libba.

Dyno Mite

Jock after missing last year's season I come back to the game very wary of how much things have changed….i also note that most of the successful premium defenders of last year lost their eligibility and combined with an absence of solid rookie options it's making things hard in defense. However, I will not resort to mid-priced madness. I believe that the key to success this year will be making guns and rookies work, and a bit of luck.

For me rucks must be sorted before r1 – I will be choosing two high class premiums.

I reckon you have to choose your tried and tested…..higgins and the like will only be more "burn man…welcome" as crouching would tell you.

I take the most enrichment from an article of yesteryear called "Art of Trading" from the archives. If you can learn anything from that, it is that trades and not necessarily your starting line up will determine how successful you are in the competition. POD's are important, but so is discernment.

Nice comment, every now and again I read a intelligent comment and it always has one thing in common, no one responds to it! Users here just seem to want to want advice on their team (clearly don't have own thought process) or respond to it.

But I agree, the trade of trading this season will be what wins the $50,000 with some luck along the way, all the best in 2015

That said the boys at JR are fantastic, I would just love to see some better, more insightful comments

Locked and Loaded

Making your rookies work is the same theory I have for this year. Yes they may not appreciate down back as we'd like but with smart trading they can still be turned into a reliable consistent defender. Great comment. Proven players are the way to go even fallen premiums scare me… they have fallen for a reason!

Agree Dyno, have gone for the traditional guns and rooks. Ended up with a 4424 structure and expect these 14 to be keepers. Managing rookie trades and getting early rewards is the key. Injuries are always going to throw spanners into the works and some contingency plans should be part of your strategy, but, planning for failure/injury is not the way to win this thing. Plan for success and pounce when opportunities arise.

No higgins?

Love the team Jock, absolute brilliance!
what are your thoughts on Geary? Looking to do with him what youre hoping to do with Ibbotson/Goodes.

I'd really appreciate a few people to give me some comments on the team I currently have and a few questions.

I'm running with

Shaw, Murphy, Newnes, Goodes, Oxley, Saad, McIntosh, Hamling

Pendles, Fyfe, Beams, Parker, Wines, Griffen, Crips, CEY, Heeney, Miler, Krak

Goldstein, Maric

Gray, Bartel, Martin, Salem, Clark, Lambert, Daniel, Lamb

My main questions is do I lock in Selwood and downgrade Dusty or Bartel to Swan.

Do I run Selwood over Pendles?

I'm happy with rucks, and defendes as long as 2 rookies play. Forward line I'm satisfied with other then if I run Swan or go for the 3 prems in Gray, Bartel, Martin.

Cheers guys.

Do you have enough money to downgrade martin to swan and upgrade wines to jelwood?

Because if you do, that's what I would do

Interesting idea. I think I could just though I think Wines is gonna be a good pick this year.

What about downgrading Pendles to someone else and picking up an upgrade elsewhere? I've also thought about rolling the dice on GAJ over Pendles and a downgrade somewhere like Dusty to Swan.

Yep I reckon Pendles to GAJ and Dusty to Swan. Big fan of the Wines selection

feedback please. tear it apart
DEF shaw, newness, rampe, savage, goodes, brown (goddard saad)
MID pendelbury, fife, selwood, griffen, wallis(stepping stone to gaz) newton, cripps, cey (heeney vandenberg, lambert)
RUCK maric, naitanui (cox)
FWD gray martin swan bounty salem clark (hogan daniel)
169500 left in the back for mission get gaz back in as quick as possible if his shoulder holds up, i believe he will fall bait and wallis will rise (hoping for a straight swap but highly doubting that will be possible)

Simmo, Heater or Gibbo as D1?

Jock, very poor hitout to advantage numbers for Lycett does not bode well, only 19% were to advantage, 4th lowest % of the top 50 ruckmen by hitouts per champion data. This will eat into any gain he main otherwise experience through increased game/ruck time with Cox out and Nicnat hobbled

History says lycett scores well with nic nat playing tho.

Yer not keen on Lycett at all you have two set and forgets in maric and Minson so ditch Lycett 🙂

You can't go into a season without some form of ruck cover. Ruckmen miss games all the time. You'll be forced into wasting valuable trades to avoid the donut.

Sarah what is Lycett in your forward line? F4?

F4. I used far too many trades in the ruck last year because of '1 week injuries or resting'. I'm adament I won't be doing it this year, especially with only 1 ruck bench position. The odds of picking the playing rookie are pretty slim… mostly because there isn't anyone who's put their hands up.

Any chance of you posting your team? You have some great knowledge and would love to have a squizz at your team?

Sure Brett, just for you!

Def:Simpson, Shaw, Kelly, Newnes, McIntosh, Saad (Oxley, Brown)
Mid:Pendlebury, Fyfe, Beams, Griffin, Newton, Cripps, Heeney, Sinclair (Anderson, Ellis-Yoleman, Miller)
Ruck:Goldstein, Maric (O'Brien)
Fwd:Gray, Bartel, Swan, Lycett, Clark, Lambert (Lamb, Steele)

Rookies are of course subject to selection!!

Beautiful team

Thanks Brett 🙂

No Goodes?

Has Goodes been elevated off the rookies list?

I've got the money for him, but I prefer cheaper rooks who I think will have a similar average. With Goodes's age, he isn't in the dogs long term plans, but purely as injury cover. If Hamling and Goodes are in the round 1 team I'm picking Hamling.

You'll notive that the Pies and Bulldogs are all playing Saturday night. It's the perfect opportunity to evaluate whether Hamling, Goodes, Oxley and Brown are playing and whether any of them are starting as the sub before locking anyone in. The supercoach gods have actually been kind there!!!

The same thing goes for Karnezis, Daniel and Lamb in the forward line.

I hear what you are saying about ruck cover Sarah. The same thing happened to me as well last year. Far to many trades burnt on ruckmen. I'm looking to bring in a fwd / ruck in when and if players like Ryder drop in value. It also lets me see their form before drafting them. I'll be doing the same thing for Lycett or Bellchambers.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and what other peoples thoughts are on this theory?

Agree with you on this one Redgumwon, this sounds like a much better option. Only burn one trade to get ruck cover, if needed, and put a proven scrorer in. Patience people, the rucks will last at least half a season surely?

Ryder lasted 2 rounds before missing a game, Mumford lasted 3 before missing 5 (ish). If there is a lesson I took out of last season it was this: Don't underestimate the value of decent ruck cover.

Why Lycett then Sarah, why not Zac Clark? He will play all games, $407k and will get you 80 pts per game. L

Because Cox has retired and Lycett averaged 96 when paired with either Cox or Nic Nat last year, and 52 when he played with BOTH Cox and Nic Nat in the team. He's priced at 77, so is underpriced. With Cox's retirement, he'll become the preferred second ruck. Nic Nat is also looking a little shakey from his 1 NAB game. I know NAB form can be taken with a grain of salt but he was coming off a bit of a back injury.

Anyway, that's my thoughts.

Clarke isn't a bad option either, but I can't see the same scope for improvement this year… maybe after Sandilands retires…

Lycett will be the new ruck find of the season, I agree on that one. I just can't come to terms with not putting a keeper at F4 with my 4424 structure. I need rookies to generate cash to fill the last 8 spots on the field, and with the inevitable trade adjustments, need as many trades as I can get to achieve 22 top class players by year's end. I'm going with two premo rucks and, maybe, get forward cover if required.

Everyone has different ideas on how to select their team. I'm not saying mine is the right way to go, but it is for me. I could quite easily turn Lycett into Martin, but having decent ruck cover is a non-negotiable for me this year so I'm not. Lycett will be the last one to be moved to the forward bench after my upgrades. As the NAB series closed, I'm leaning more towards the midfield rookies than the forward rookies. This also makes me more comfortable slotting Lycett in this position. It's pre-round 1, no one is right or wrong yet!!!
I've enjoyed this discussion kevwal, thanks!

That's fair enough Sarah and you're right we all have different idea's on team structure. I'm looking more at scoring mid type players that will score better than key position or rucks early. As they are needed and their price drops I'll bring them in.

Great debate gentlepeople. I was burnt later in the season last year due to slow start building some midprices into premos. Not enough points early set me back come the end of the year. Closed fast, but not fast enough You were burnt with rucks Sarah, I was burnt with a slow start.

Sarah no Salem? I think u may have missed one there

I've got Salem in my side, but with him will come great reward or a house of pain.

any feedback would be great fellas….. still few positions I am contemplating…

DEF shaw newness KK goodes brown saad (Oxley McIntosh)
Mid pendles fyfe lewis danger wines griffen rich cripps (yolmen miller heeney)
R goldy minson (cox)
FWD gray martin swan salem clark lambert ( Daniel krak)

thinking may need to sacrifice a mid for a more solid option like Gibson in DEF

Hey jock, loving the team mate and your not the father for nothing. Just wondering if you could give me some feedback on my team. Thanks mate

Def: Shaw, Gibson, R.Murphy, Newnes, Goodes, Saad (Mcintosh, Goodard)
Mid: Gaz, Pendulbury, Fyfe, Danger, Judd, Cripps, Henney, Elise- youlmen ( Vandenberg, miller, krakour)
Ruck: Goldy, Maric (Read)
Fwd: Gray, Martin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Hogan (lamb, lambet) $52,000 left over

If I could get yours or the community's feedback that would be great. Thanks

Nice looking side Nash, loving Murphy at D3. Just one question, do you see Judd as a keeper if you've already got Gaz? Vandenberg won't be elevated pre-round 1 but other than that I don't see any big holes.

Thanks joe, I have been looking at judd this whole preseason and I recon he will be a keeper for in between 5 – 10 weeks, I would be lucky to hold onto him to the bye rounds but I think I will be upgrading him to a fallen premium around round 5 – 10

Anyone else not going with Shaw?
I've gone with Simpson instead purely because I think he will play more games than shaw, and is worth the extra 15k even if his price drops a bit

I'm in the Simpson boat with ya Tyler, it's a pretty small boat though compared to that Shaw one!

I’m going with Shaw with the hope that he brings his average up now that GWS will really be up n running this year and the fact that Simpson tends to dip in price at some stage of the season so all in all I think Shaw has more potential this year but will deffaintly look at Simpson as a upgrade target

prefer simmo too. its gonna be a POD if you can imagine

Thoughts on Scott Selwood as a bit of a smokey? Should play round one and can rack up the pill, or would it be better to go down to someone like Wallis or Rich, going in without Abblett and Pendlebury at the moment which may be a concern.

I like the idea of Scooter a hell of a lot. He's always had a stopping or run with role so I wouldn't let that put you off too much as he still finds plenty of the footy himself and is a tackling machine.

At $430K he's a steal and probably $100K underpriced. He started 2014 priced at around $550K iirc and appears to be finally fit and firing if NAB 3 was any indication.

I’d find a little more coin and get Jack Steven in. Look at his TOG in the NAB series. An absolute pig

I really like your defence Jock probably because it's virtually identical to my own except I may take the punt on Prince Harry rather than Taylor. I see you couldn't squeeze one of your personal favourites in Enright back there.

In fact I can't really call you out on any of your selections or non selections but then again you are the Father of Fantasy.

I was disappointed by Rich when I picked him after a huge preseason back in 2013 and he failed to go to the next level once the real stuff got underway but perhaps his role will change in the Hanley void. He will make money though it's just a question of whether it will be $100K or $200K.

Out of rich Wallis and wells I reckon wells is the best safe option but Wallis has a lot of potential if he dosnt tag

Jock, love the look of your team. So much to go off from you boys. Do you think Rich may become Pendles or someone similar early on in the season? How long would you hold onto him? I've got him at D6 too.

Virtually impossible to say at this stage Willy. You hold on to them until they appreciate enough to move onto a fallen premium. Or perhaps you keep them if they are scoring that well. All just depends on how they go.

If they can't crack 110 they are stones bro…just a matter of time

What is your strategy to cover Heath Shaw for the 4 games he will miss this year with hamstring/betting/discipline/car crash with Didak issues? Will you look to get in 7 premiums by season's end in defence, a swing man from the midfield or will you spare a fat rookie lamb the slaughter and keep them on the bench all year?

It's a legit concern for Shaw owners as he hasn't played 20 games in over 8 seasons. It may seem not bad averaging around 18 games a season but you will definitely feel the pinch during those 4 or 5 missed games if that happens again.

He just looks in such fine preseason form it's hard to turn down especially when we are light on defensive premium alternatives in 2015.

although if he didn't get knocked out by tippett last year, would have played 21 games and be 2nd highest average for defenders

I guess that's kind of Tom's point that something always seems to happen with Heater that causes him to miss those 4 or 5 games even a Tippo KO but perhaps the fantasy gods will smile on Shaw owners this season.

I certainly hope that's the case as I'm prepared to back him in myself.

Correct, had Shaw played 20+ games even half of the last 7 years I would lock him in no questions asked, as it is I am going with Simpson who as I have previously argued averages similarly to Shaw but basically never misses games.
In the last three years, although Shaw has averaged more than Simpson (96.9 to 94.8), Simpson has outscored Shaw by 643 points as he has played an extra 8 games (63 to 55). As the name of the game is total points not average scores this makes a big difference.
Shaw has missed 30 games over the past 7 seasons, an average of more than 4 per year. Simpson by comparison has missed just 3 over the past 9 years (all as a result of a Sharrod Wellingham induced broken jaw that he took just 3 weeks to return from).

Tom mate dont forget the rookie scores for those 8 games. The differenxe is much closer than you think.

Jock.. no Mitch Clark and no room in your structures to get him in? this concerns me…

Jake L

G'day Jock. How relevant is Oxley and even Maynard now with Keefe's and Thomas' balls are in asadas vice. Out of the Pies rookies who do you see playing?

Could be wrong, but i don't think it plays a part in their selections. Different positions if I'm not mistaken to Keefe and Thomas.

Jake L

agree but those two( keefe and Thomas) are best 22. Can see potential for mew and different names bobbing up at cwood this year and names thAt have been forgotten being remembered like Karnezis and Scharenberg when he's fit

I N Pieman

I think Clark will outscore hogan & lamb chop combined. Bemused why the Reynolds folk won’t pick him. Maybe there is method to the madness. In the famous words of Pauline Hansen “please explain”

Clark my f6……locked ! Will give enough output early doors I think

Gold Rush

Sorry Jock but that team has a tad of a 'Ben Dover' feel to it! Gonna make for some interesting Podcasts!

Gold Rush

Hope I don't get to feel your pain. But good luck and I hope it goes well.

Is Dane Swan a keeper, or should you start him in your team and trade him out later on, IF he gets back to prem?

Gold Rush

Time will tell, we should know within the first month.

I certainly wouldn't be in any hurry to trade him out unless he gets injured or in the unlikely event he stinks things up.

not a keeper, if you stupidly start with him, trade out after anzac day

Yeah should be a keeper Tyler. The 6th highest scoring forward should average roughly 102, and I think Swan should reach that average comfortably.

very optimistic

Be positive hairy

The Egg

Awesome team jock, liking lycett, if you make the right trades throughout the season you may just be lucky enough to finish second overall at end of year……right behind me 🙂

top work jock would hate to think how much time you put into this for us to read

pick two wallis wells rich or newton looking for quick cash generation with out losing a lot of points currently have 169500 left in the bank with wallis and newton, aiming to bring in gaz when i know his shoulder is ok and hopefully he drops a fair chunk. am i better leaving it with wallis and newton and hoping gaz gets sub and drops 100k over a few price changes and wallis goes up the same (wishful thinking) or burn two trades and start with wallis/wells/rich

Do you have Cripps ?
If you don’t have Cripps go him over Newton
Wells is a better scorer then rich but Wallis has a lot of potential if he dosnt tag

Thoughts on jaksch? From blues

Reckon he might have too many “shut down role days” to be SC relevant

Nice team jock , am waiting on tbc verdict also ,, currently in my team

Has goodes still on rookie list?

I N Pieman

Upgraded. Lock him in

na mate still on the rookie list stay clear these guys are talking shit

You are the father of fantasy, so I take it with this line-up you are giving us all a master class on guts and plums. Because that, my friend, is a guts and plums team.

Seems to go a bit heavy on the discounts premos (well, excluding Rich would is a career midpricer). Think having Griff as your M3 and not your M4 could be the weak link, in my humble opinion. It puts a helleva lot of scoring pressure on Swallow, Judd and Rich. Man, are you going to miss the consistency of Pendles.

But again, I'm a SC son basking at his father's feet. Best of luck, old man. Keep the tinny stock extra high this season.

Love the team Jock. Is the only one so far with any ruck cover, everyone else including me at this stage has set & forget with the hope noone gets injured. You're right though, bloody big risk this year.

If the Bombers get weeks would you look at McKernan?

The Ranger

Look at those plums!
Blimey Jock, that's a lot of gambles you're taking there mate.
Or is it?
Is it bloody supercoach bloody genius?
Sticking with a slightly more GnR strategy myself but good onya and good luck.

Size of the plums on old Jock!

Quick question for the community.

Do you prefer:

a) Higgins and Lumumba
b) Gibson and Kolodjashnij

That's a line ball call for me. All these guys have some ? hanging over them for one reason or another. If pressed for an answer I'd probably go a) but only just.

Thanks SCaddict. I'll probably chop and change a few times more before lockout…
I appreciate the response mate. Good luck for the season ahead!

SCaddict nailed it as usual. All got plenty of variance both ways. (disclaimer, have Gibson, but not the other 3).

easily b for me. higgins and lumumba burnmen

None of the above.

Could easily see an argument being mounted both ways, but Gibbo and KK for mine. Think the gift will not score as well in the real stuff and Higgins is prone to snapping a heartstring.

Gibbo I think will be freed up as much as possible this year by the Hawks to create. Suns have a soft early draw and Malcho will receive defensive tag. Can see KK breaking out a little with little attention.

I would go with B as well, Gibson will be free to roam for a while at least until Birchall comes back, the only times Gibson won't score well is if he is used as a shutdown player sometimes, and KK will be in the be in the midfield a lot more

Thoughts on James Kelly as a POD?

A very decent POD. Like his bud Enright his average has been in gradual decline but he could more than hold his value with decent midfield minutes.

Durability has also been an issue lately and is a good chance of being rested at some point even if the body holds up.

Scott has said Kelly will spend more time in the midfield along with Jimmy Bartel. I've got both in my side

yep a great pod,
if your looking to slide down the rankings that is

how? Will average at least 90 this year.

Don’t think he is much of a POD seen him picked in a lot of teams

Looks decent. More midfield time which will definatelty be a recipe for at least a 90 average. 95 from 60% TOG in NAB 1 and 104 from 70% in NAB 3. Hes definately in my team.

Linford Shulman

How funny is it that phil Hughes died playing cricket, for more humorous statements hit me up on Facebook and don’t report me please

Its not funny.

Shut up, and respect a damn good cricketer.

yeah mate, start respecting greats – not laughing at them

didn't see you doing that mate

Taking the pill there mate.
Your not wanted here.

That's disgusting. Show a bit of respect.

Go away.

You are a waste of air. Phil will be respected forever, you on the other hand…

Will not.

You would not know humorous if it bit you on the arse. Sod off

Hi community,

Can you please help me out with my team. I think it is okay but there is always room for improvement. I have 26k left over.

DEFENDERS: Shaw, Newnes, Higgins, Ibbotson, Henderson, Saad (Edwards, McKenzie)

MIDFIELDERS: Ablett, Pendlebury, Fyfe, Selwood, Griffen, Rich, Cripps, Heeney (Vandenburg, Ellis-Yolmen, Freeman)

RUCKS: Minson, Natanui (Brooksby)

FORWARDS: Goddard, Martin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Lambert (Daniels, Krakouer)

I like it and I love all the guns in the midfield. You've put together a handy side there

Thanks mate

What if I told you that Minson's record without Griffen is almost as bad over the past 3 years as Liberatore's record without Griffen. Is that something that you might be interested in?
Over the past 3 years, without Griffen, Liberatore averaged 88.2 compared to 101.3 in all games. Minson averaged 90.9 compared to 101.3 in all games.
In addition, the change to the ruck rules will result in a drop of 8.1 points per game if Minson's ruck statistics match last year's.
Add to this the absence of Liberatore and it's unclear who Minson will actually be able to hit the ball to to get a hitout to advantage,
I would select Nicnat, despite recent health concerns, average 120.1 in the 5 games Cox missed last year.

Certainly some food for thought there. Still at $500K I reckon Mino is reasonably priced although he won't make my own squad.

Yum. Delicious. Thanks Tom. Makes me feel happy about not having him.

Thomas and Keeffe = Lock

Ok the whole side has been rehashed after all the new article at the site. What do you guys think of this side?
