very similar to mine crouching one, I like it a lot. Tex is a interesting one but is back to full fitness and will tear some backlines apart.

Mike · 28/03/2015 at 19:21

Yes I’ve got a few of those players myself. Which goes to show I can listen.

On the Walker front, I reckon Cameron will average about the same for 130,000 less.

    sam siddall · 28/03/2015 at 19:32

Only way that will happen is if tex avgs 80 he has avg 100+ in past jc wont get near that

      josh · 29/03/2015 at 04:40

Cameron's Avg will go up as only fit GWS fwd and Griffin delivering to him but Tex will win the coleman this year. You heard it here 1st people.

    QCCDemonCouta · 28/03/2015 at 21:45

You may have a point Mike.

Scrofl · 28/03/2015 at 19:22

My D5 position is a tossup between KKolod, Henderson or Goodes at the moment. Goodes could save some cash, but job security isnt there. KKolod will play every game, but im worried about his scoring ability. Henderson could go big, but hes also a big injury risk. Thoughts?

    FraseDouglas_ · 28/03/2015 at 19:42

    Similar predicament to me Scroflee,
I currently have ibbotson and Henderson and D4 and 5 and it’s really a toss up between those two Koldashnij and Goodes. Would love to hear your thoughts Crouching One. Ripper team by the way!

      @TylerCArmstrong · 28/03/2015 at 22:04

Yeah having the same problem. Its a tough one

      Crowls · 01/04/2015 at 15:51

KK has plenty of upside and may get time in middle or run off backline. Ibbot will struggle to repeat 2013 due to role and other players in structure are different. Goodes JS is fine and with lack of depth at WBD will provide another 2013 year avg 90. Imagine getting 90+ from Def and only paying 245K. Crist people are paying 500K for same.

    Tyler · 28/03/2015 at 22:22

Well if you’re going to upgrade that player early, go goodes but if you are planning on keeping them for a while or even having them as a keeper, go k kolo

zane · 28/03/2015 at 19:22

Vandenberg still can anyone tell me does he need to be promoted to list or is he good to go,,, big Tex is a nice pod

    Costa · 28/03/2015 at 19:28

Needs to be promoted. Played VFL today and was pretty average, which doesn't help his cause.

Sumuk · 28/03/2015 at 19:25

Ben · 28/03/2015 at 19:27

love it crouching. Looks solid. I think you’ll regret the Henderson pick.

Anonymous · 28/03/2015 at 19:30

Can’t believe your falling for tex! Goes against everything you wrote in the book! #buffolo for shame

Jacob · 28/03/2015 at 19:32

Thoughts on my team? I'm gonna used Swan (good early draw) as a stepping stone to GAJ.

Def: Shaw, Kelly, Newnes, Goodes, Brown, McIntosh (Hamling, Saad)

Mid: Fyfe, Selwood, Beams, Parker, Griffen, Swan, Cripps, CEY (Anderson, Heeney, V'denberg)

Fwd: Gray, Bartell, Martin, Salem, Clarke, Hogan (Lamb, Lambert)

    @Seekersupacoach · 28/03/2015 at 22:30

Hi Jacob what's your reasoning behind not having Pendlebury? I'm thinking of leaving him out and GAJ too.

      jacob · 28/03/2015 at 22:35

I’m thinking teams will put a lot more attension on pendles with beams gone and greenwood injured. I still think hell have a solid year but I think he may well drop off a bit. I’m sure his scoring will also be affected by the fact that Collinwood won’t win alot of games. As for ablett he’s in and out of my side every five minutes.

        seaford scouse · 29/03/2015 at 01:16

An alternative view to this Jacob is that Pendle's has been running with hard tags for years mate and with Beams, Ball and Greenwood gone or out could mean more points up for grabs for him (being the best player in a losing team hasn't affected King Gary too much)

    cow roll · 29/03/2015 at 00:15

    Jacob. Solid team.

    shezza · 29/03/2015 at 06:50

Who are your rucks? Milli Vanilli?

    Stickman · 29/03/2015 at 09:45

Looks solid, buy you have forgotten your ruck line.

      jacob · 29/03/2015 at 12:56

Oh yeh sorry bout that. They are Goldstein and maric.

shezza · 28/03/2015 at 19:33

It is a safe, well balanced side. It looks like you are concerned about your backs and hoping for 80-85s and playing it safe. Mids and fwds are good. Still shit all over Ralphy’s side

Cotchin8or · 28/03/2015 at 19:35

Can see Swanny and Nic Nat burning owners this year. That said I have swanny but very tempted in a backline trade down to higgins (another burn merchant) and upgrade to Bennell. Just got him at the moment because everyone else does.

    SCaddict · 28/03/2015 at 22:01

Yes when to stay with the peloton or break away from the main group is always a tough call.

Those who opted for a POD by not starting with Sandilands and GAJ last season would've probably regretted it a few rounds in so sometimes it can be the wisest decision to stay with the herd rather than venture off on your own.

      Crowls · 01/04/2015 at 15:54

Good point SC. Went against Swan most of preseason as preferred Bennell. But after doing more research I see less downside risk in selecting swan. So he is back in for round 1. Currently dont have GAJ. But have done a team with him in. Will wait and see what teams are named.

billy · 28/03/2015 at 19:36

Why no rockliff? just curious to why nobody is selecting him

    CJay · 28/03/2015 at 20:30

Probably $? His tackle count wont go down so he's in my side.

    SCaddict · 28/03/2015 at 21:36

Some concern with the acquisition of Beams that Rocky may see a little more time up forward and less time on ball. The guy's a beast though so will score well where ever he plays but perhaps he may not quite average enough to reward a $700K plus spend.

However until we're a few games in nobody knows for sure whether the smart move will be to start with him or chance he will dip a little in price and pick him up mid season instead.

      throttlefinger · 28/03/2015 at 22:03

Rocky is worth a wait and see. No doubt he'll be a top 8 mid but he's priced too high given the calvary has arrived in the midfield.

        SCaddict · 28/03/2015 at 22:50

I tend to agree so I won't start him either. Hopefully he doesn't make us pay for that decision early.

Btw Throtts I sent you an invite to my league in case you have any slots spare. No worries if you are already set with all your leagues.

          throttlefinger · 28/03/2015 at 23:07

Have some slots left. Did you email or DM via Twitter?

          throttlefinger · 29/03/2015 at 00:31

          Found the invite. Thanks buddy.

Squawking_Hawk · 28/03/2015 at 19:37

Crouching very nice team mate just one query home come you took Tex instead of Jack?

    Stickman · 29/03/2015 at 09:47

Probably as Walker as averaged 100 before in his career and Jack has not.

Brillsy21 · 28/03/2015 at 19:40

Who should I downgrade Selwood to, Beams or Parker?

    Tom · 28/03/2015 at 22:12

    Parker

    sam siddall · 29/03/2015 at 01:16

    Beams

    BomberSam · 29/03/2015 at 01:32

    Parker

Rock-MAN · 28/03/2015 at 19:48

Give me a reason to keep Rockliff
Cheers community!

    shezza · 28/03/2015 at 19:53

I reckon D Beams will score more. It is a wait and see regarding Rockliff as his output may suffer with the three recruits (it could also go up). I think you can pick him up cheaper throughout the year.

      James · 28/03/2015 at 21:20

Pick up Rocky cheaper pick up GAJ cheaper we're talking about the best two supercoach players of last year. I'm looking for reasons to not have Rockliff because personally I can't see his scores sufferring turning into s POD. Beams will cop the tag he's a lot more damaging than Rockliff but Rockliffs hunger for the contast a stamina gets him so many point6s, Why would that change? Just looking for a reason!!

        Rock-MAN · 28/03/2015 at 21:36

I want to keep him, but so many people turning him down.
        1-3-4
        5-0-5
        1-1-2
        4-0-4
        Is my structure.

        dognino · 28/03/2015 at 21:39

They both will drop at some stage, I don't think it will be by much, and they will both be in my team cone the byes. If GAJ is fit round 1 I'll definitly start him, as it will be way too hard to get both him and rocky in my team before the byes .

          Rock-MAN · 29/03/2015 at 11:39

Is it okay to start with him though? Cause I starting with him.
          And GAJ.

    vinnymac · 29/03/2015 at 01:16

I have Rockliff. In my humble opinion, Beams is more likely to drop off than Rocky. I don't see Rocky dropping much before the byes and by then I feel he would have outscored Beams by 10 points per round. Worth having Rocky from the start. Good luck with your decision.

Jacko · 28/03/2015 at 19:51

What’s the go with beams in every team?, what’s he done to get the gig over, Rocky, Selwood etc?

    James · 28/03/2015 at 21:24

Agreed Jacko… Over analysis with Beams moving. Pendles' scores may suffer because Beams has gone. Rockys scores may suffer beacuse Beams is now there. I'm so confused as to peoples thought process. Rocky gets his own ball I think he may even average more with Beams there, Beams will cop the tag Rockliff will NOT suffer. As i said above he will be a HUGE POD going into the season

    Mike · 28/03/2015 at 21:26

Everyone is waiting to see what the new recruits do to Rocky’s scoring. Someone said above he’ll still tackle, good point. He’s a dead set gun so don’t worry about picking him, Beams just that bit cheaper and safer bet atm.
Selwood – personally I saw signs last year of him slowing down. Geelong are on the slide, and Selwood will have a permatag. Many are trying to pick someone who might lift their average. Not many can see that in Selwood, though many of us may have him by the end if he keeps his form up.

      RobDog · 29/03/2015 at 12:21

Duck Duck will still get his 20-30 points per game for high tackles.

    dognino · 28/03/2015 at 21:26

Playing close to home, playing with his brother , and historically midfielders that change clubs score significantly higher than their previous year. Not to mention last year he was coming back from an injury interrupted 2013. Can only get better imo

    shezza · 29/03/2015 at 09:19

    He is $100k cheaper basically

RobDog · 28/03/2015 at 20:02

Surely the Bont will outscore Walker. Love our new Captain but cant see him getting consistent scores in SC.

Chayse · 28/03/2015 at 20:10

Thoughts on my team guys? would love some feedback πŸ™‚

DEF: Shaw, Newnes, Higgins, Geary, Goodes, Saad, (Oxley), (Goddard)

MID: Ablett, Pendles, Fyfe, Kennedy, S.Selwood, Rich, Cripps, Ellis-Yolmen, (Heeney), (Freeman), (Vandenberg)

RUCK: Goldstein, McEvoy, (Reed)

FWD: Martin, Bennell, Swan, Bellchambers, Salem, Clark, (Lamb), (Lambert)

    RobDog · 28/03/2015 at 20:24

Like the Scott Selwood selection. Has had an interupted preseason but looked ok NAB3.

      SCaddict · 28/03/2015 at 21:41

Yes Scooter hasn't got too much coverage as he comes back from surgery but reckon he could be a nice alternative to Juddy as a stepping stone to GAJ/Rocky. Eagles have a fairly sweet early draw too.

        @Seekersupacoach · 28/03/2015 at 22:36

Simpson has said that S Selwood will do a tagging role during the year but is a good POD

          Chayse · 28/03/2015 at 23:38

really?? dont like the sound of that i thinks hes too good a player to be used as one
if thats the case i might change that selection

RobDog · 28/03/2015 at 20:31

FoxSport article says Ablett in full contact training, taking overhead marks and looking good. Back to the drawing board ………

    Phil · 28/03/2015 at 21:12

Great news for everyone I reckon.

    Craig · 28/03/2015 at 22:33

There's a good chance he's timed his round 1 fitness to perfection. Despite the reports from earlier today about a fresh twang of the shoulder.
    http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/afl/gary-able

    Welcome back Gary.

      Rock-MAN · 29/03/2015 at 11:40

      The God Has returned.

matt · 28/03/2015 at 20:32

I've had lewis in my mid since day one.. now I'm not sure.. anyone else keen on him

    Redd · 28/03/2015 at 20:47

    Great POD option i reckon

    medadsson · 28/03/2015 at 20:50

Jordan Lewis been in my side since day 1. Look at his finnish to 2014. No longer in a negating role and the midfield mantle has passed to him. Langford seems to have adopted the more defensive midfield role. Cant see how you can go wrong unless of course that's Carl Lewis you have selected πŸ™‚

      @TylerCArmstrong · 28/03/2015 at 21:00

      better than parker?

        matt · 28/03/2015 at 21:16

        I've got both

        medadsson · 29/03/2015 at 02:50

        Got both as well

      matt · 28/03/2015 at 21:15

haha, carl would def be a pod. but ill settle for jordon. not michael

    Phil · 28/03/2015 at 21:14

Back in your pods Matt. I've had him locked in before SC 2014 finished

    Craig · 28/03/2015 at 22:36

Yep, like him, got him. He'll average 110ish and he goes BIG every now and again. Tick, tick.

    sam siddall · 29/03/2015 at 01:19

Thats this best avg ever better picks out there jpk or beams for touch more

@TylerCArmstrong · 28/03/2015 at 20:42

I saw his team this morning on the jock reynolds youtube page.

@TylerCArmstrong · 28/03/2015 at 20:43

Hey community, tell me who you think the top 8 mids at the end of the year will be? Interested to hear your thoughts.

    RobDog · 28/03/2015 at 22:52

Ablett, Pendles, Watson, Parker, Rockliff, (Gray), Beams, Fyfe, JSelwood

    Marco_Polo94 · 29/03/2015 at 00:33

Ablett, Pendles, Fyfe, parker, Lewis, Rockliff, Beams, Griffen

    Phil · 29/03/2015 at 01:15

Rockcliff, Ablett, Fyfe, Pendlebury, Selwood, Kennedy, Lewis, Griffen

    vinnymac · 29/03/2015 at 01:20

Ablett, Rocky, Pendles, Fyfe, Selwood, Kennedy, Beams, Parker

    shezza · 29/03/2015 at 06:57

In no particular order: Ablett Parker JPK Pendlebury Beams J Steven Fyfe

If you go back to under 18s days…..someone like a Ollie Wines could improve out of sight or a Dion Prestia.

    Stickman · 29/03/2015 at 09:51

I think Sloane, Ablett, Pendlebury, Parker, Lewis, Rockliff, Selwood and Prestia. On average 4 out of the top 8 mids of the previous year carry that into the next year. But I think this year Sloane, Ablett, Pendlebury, Rockliff and Selwood can all back up last year.

Tom · 28/03/2015 at 20:45

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Simpson? Currently have him and Shaw but not sure if I should downgrade one of them to someone like Kelly.

Thoughts?

    Phil · 28/03/2015 at 21:11

I like Simpsons early draw, so I'll say ditch Shaw.

    sam siddall · 29/03/2015 at 01:21

Dont ditch shaw is only def who could avg 100 plus this yr

    shezza · 29/03/2015 at 06:58

    “He’s a Bloody L-O-C-K”…….a bloody lock…..

      Derek · 29/03/2015 at 14:02

Simpson too expensive. More expensive than Swallow, Judd, Mtichell. Doesn’t seem right to spend that much. Shaw same at just under $500k.

I’m saving money in defence and hoping Thumper and Ibbotson can get the job done and using the cash to get The Bont and Juddy in my team.

Rock-MAN · 28/03/2015 at 21:09

franklin or swan?

    @TylerCArmstrong · 28/03/2015 at 21:43

    swan

    SCaddict · 28/03/2015 at 21:53

Swan is in everyone's team for a reason. Will we all be right or will we all be wrong?? One thing for sure it would either take a very brave or foolish soul to swim against the strength of that tide.

      RobDog · 28/03/2015 at 22:56

Personally think that Bucks doesn't get the best from Swan and his pig days are over. Also backing in Eade to lift Harley Bennel's consistency so have Bennel, no Swan.

      Tyler · 29/03/2015 at 07:41

"You know what Swanny is like, he is just waiting for the season to start. He doesn't put too much emphasis on the NAB Cup." – Scott Pendlebury

He's primed to have a big year, will definetly at least keep his value Worst case scenario (Providing he isn't injured)

Worm · 28/03/2015 at 21:12

Thanks Crouching! Like the pick of Tex Walker – think he could be in the 100-105 range this year.

Would love to hear your thoughts on Ben "Johnny" Lennon for this year. Think he could score at least 70s-80s if he gets a game and can avoid the vest – surely Lambert and or McIntosh more likely snotters? Sooo… will things Come Together and Lennon Please Please Me or will I be left a Nowhere Man?

    Phil · 28/03/2015 at 21:20

    Imagine he averages 100+

Mark Dempsey · 28/03/2015 at 21:39

Looks like alot of people aren't backing Bontempelli, is an absolute must in my books. Also my opinion on people waiting for Ablett or Rockliffs price to drop is that they will miss out on some big scores early. Granted Abletts pre season is abit of a worry, I can't see their price dropping below 650k unless something tragic happens. In the meantime they could have been locked as M1 and even M2 as a safe bet for your captain each week

    SCaddict · 28/03/2015 at 23:11

It's certainly going to be interesting to see how the cards fall with GAJ and Rocky as it looks like plenty of coaches may start with neither.

    KingBlue14 · 30/03/2015 at 17:18

GAJ and Rocky are at their absolute highest price and will need to avg 130+ from r1 onwards just to keep that price even close to the 700k+ tag, pretty much all premium mids will drop a bit in price at the start of the yr unless they are starting off under priced from the previous season but I wouldn't be surprised to see Rocky have a fair few below avg scoring games as he finds his feet working with so many new mids as well as heading to the forward line and as weird as it sounds for GAJ I can see him being subbed out of at least r1 if not r2 as well as that will essentially be NAB 1 and 2 for him and Eade has said from the start that the team needs to stand up without GAJ and subbing GAJ out of early games will get some game time into him as well as making his teammates run out games without him

      Crowls · 01/04/2015 at 16:00

agree with thinking. just not sure how to get them in later.

throttlefinger · 28/03/2015 at 22:06

Niiiiiiice Crouching One. I can hear the elastic stretching from the County of Kings, Brooklyn NYC!

Love the Tex pick. And Anderson on the bench. Leaning that way as well. Vest candidate yet will get games and deliver when on the field.

Donavan · 28/03/2015 at 22:28

Community, please comment on my team, like all teams it has it's strengths and weaknesses. I am sticking to the structure, but would be interested in people's thoughts on the choice of players.

Simpson, H.Shaw, Newnes, Higgins, Saad, Oxley (McIntosh, Hamling)
Ablett, Rockliff, Pendlebury, Priddis, Lewis, Griffin, Wells, Cripps (Ellis-Yolmen, Miller, Krakouer)
Goldstein, Maric (Read)
Swan, T.Adams, Salam, Clark, Saad, Hogan (Lamb, Lambert)

    throttlefinger · 28/03/2015 at 22:37

Hey Donovan. You obviously went heavy in the engine room and thin in forward line. A bit too thin for my liking.

You want at least 2 dependable prems in each line. Def. Mid and Ruck that's covered. Forward is swimming in risk. Swan is a fallen prem and the reason he fell was mostly due to performance. Adams is not proven. Has Saad been elevated by STK?

My suggestion would be downgrade one of your top 5 mids and beef up your forward line with a Gray, Bartel, Lids or Dusty.

Otherwise, solid squad, Donovan. Good luck this season.

    SCaddict · 28/03/2015 at 23:03

I like your pick of Pridda. He flies under the radar as there is no flash to his game but reckon that's a very solid pick nonetheless.

I'm with Throtts that you're probably pinning too much on a very thin forward line but I applaud you for giving that strategy a crack.

    shezza · 29/03/2015 at 07:02

I have similar side to you. I’d ditch Higgins for a rookie, maybe a Dalgleish, hate to say this, a Nathan Brown or a Shaun Edwards and upgrade Taylor Adams to a Robbie Gray. I don’t care what anyone says, barring injury, you must get Gray into your team early on

      Derek · 29/03/2015 at 14:04

Gray to expensive. Get him later.

    Tyler · 29/03/2015 at 07:48

I don't mind the pick of Taylor Adams, especially now that levi Greenwood is injured. My biggest concern with him is if he will be the one to breakout this season at collingwood, or if Kennedy or Thomas will breakout. If you're keeping your structure though stick with this team but maybe downgrade higgins to k kolo and upgrade adams to the bont or someone else

      shezza · 29/03/2015 at 08:29

Im thinking of Ben Kennedy as well. Racked it up in VFL last year. He has pace to burn which is the knock on our (Coll) midfield. I had Taylor Adams early on but the kid can’t kick and imo, his 30 possession games won’t consistently get 100

    RooBoy · 29/03/2015 at 10:45

    Hi Donovan,
Nice team! I also think you're a bit thin up forward.
If that was my team I'd downgrade Wells to a rookie (Anderson), bring CEY on field and use the cash to upgrade T Adams to R Gray (or Bartel, Lids, Dusty etc if preferred).

Borko · 28/03/2015 at 23:24

Hi all … I have also done some work on the rookie scores posted by BVC the other day. I have factored in TOG% so we can compare players as if they had all played 100% game time. I have also done some weighting based on their NAB draw, job security, vest liklihood. I also slightly reduced scores for low TOG% and missed games in NAB. I have tried to include all of the players we are looking at, although they had to have played at least 2 NAB games and I didn't include rucks. Some players are DPPs but I have listed them under their most likely position.

This is far from scientific but may help to prioritise cash cows … I was a little surprised by some results … and please feel free to join my league, Seven's Big League (630523). Let's rip this league (and season) a new one!

    nice mate!

    craig · 29/03/2015 at 00:55

my 100% game time figures are different for a lot of these.
some examples are krakouer I have for 130pts per 100%, McCarthy 126, Saad 98, Lonie 91, Lambert 90….
But we both have Mitch Clarke for 121.6 and cripps for 136.5
    Interested in your weighting calculations?

      Borko · 29/03/2015 at 01:37

      This is what I used:
      Likely Vest = -20%, missed a NAB game = -10%, nab draw varied between -10 to -20% for some teams (eg. Richmond played dogs and depleted port in 2 out of 3 games, therefore -20%), lower js = -10%, 40s% tog = -20%, 50s% tog = -10%, 60s% = -5%
I did it fairly quickly just to get an idea of who the best rookies may be … I am also assuming that essendon players will be suspended and thus all essendon rookies have good js.
Hope that helps … Let me know if you would weight differently.
      Thanks

        craig · 29/03/2015 at 14:04

        fair call. I can understand your reasoning. I agree a weighting process does put the raw figures into another perspective. If I had to give my opinion, based on your results;
The deduction for low tog % seeing as the overall concept is based on scores with 100 % tog seems counter-productive. I'd leave that out
To weight based on the nab draw meant you gave richmond players -10% for playing the dogs, when the dogs won. (dogs also beat pies by 10 goals, pies beat hawks by 8 goals etc), so that seemed unfair. I'd leave that out.
I like the likely vest deduction. It almost goes hand in hand with job security, and therefore the deduction for missing a NAB game. Maybe merge those 3 deductions into 1? Maybe -25% for a player with either of low JS, a vest candidate or missed a NAB game would be ok.
Of course who knows who's getting the vest anyway? Or who has JS? That's why we love this game. Good luck for 2015!!

Hi community, how’s my team looking?

DEF: Enright, Newnes (MID), Lumumba (MID), Goodes, Whitecross, Brown (Viojo-Rainbow, Saad (MID))

MID: GAJ, Pendles, Sloane, Parker, SMitch, Rich, Anderson, Heeney (Ellis-Yolmen, Stretch, Lambert (FWD))

RUC: Maric, Big Boy (Nankervis)

FWD: Gray (MID), Lids (MID), Bennell (MID), Swan (MID), Clark, Daniel (Laverde (MID), Krakouer (MID))

$15.2K left – too little?

    Marco_Polo94 · 29/03/2015 at 00:51

I don't think white cross is in the best 22 at hawks. Apart from that a solid team with a few PoDs which is good.

      Kev · 29/03/2015 at 09:04

DVJ probably isn't quite there yet either. Oxley, Hamling, McIntosh, Edwards some other options. Laverde has gone out of favour as other forward rookies emerge.

Line ball on Smitch, popular thought among the community is he'll be managed this season to have him fresh for the finals.

grub · 29/03/2015 at 00:13

This may not be the best place for it, but I welcome your feedback. I’m a virgin when it comes to this.

Def: gibson newnes dalgliesh oxley edwards hamling (mckenzie saad)

Mid: ablett rockliff fyfe beams lewis parker griffin hallahan (anderson heeney ellis-yol)

Ruc: goldy nicnat (o’brien)

Fwd: gray, swan redpath salem clark (hogan lamb daniel)

40k left to massage with.

Again, I’m so grateful for any advice.

    Marco_Polo94 · 29/03/2015 at 00:52

You haven't left much room in your mids for cash generation. Plethora of rookies in the midfield that will score quite well that you should consider for either hallahan or one of your premiums. You need to downgrade your midfield to strengthen your defence and possibly your forwards too mate. F2 is ballsy but D2 as well is just ludicrous.

      newnesworldorder · 29/03/2015 at 10:55

I think you need to downgrade hallahan AND one of your premiums in mids to Cripps and Newton. Use cash to strengthen def and fwd lines. upgrade redpath to bartell, martin or someone similar. Throw a dart at the list of defenders like everyone else.

    I N Pieman · 29/03/2015 at 09:12

Smashing looking midfield Grub. Does leave you compromised in other lines as Marco has said. I’d at very least turn Hallahan into Cripps & send one of your rookie defenders up to Brett Goodes. Six rookie defenders with no job security could be a disaster. I’m looking at 4 at the most.

vinnymac · 29/03/2015 at 01:25

Hey everyone I have a few questions. Has anyone considered Sidebottom, Barlow, or Ward as a POD? Do they have any upsides over the similarly priced, popular options like JPK, Priddis, Lewis and Parker?

    RobDog · 29/03/2015 at 01:48

Barlow's been injured. Played WAFL I think but wouldn't pick him. A few have said Ward may benefit from Griffen taking some attention off him. Sidey would be my pick of the three, but think the Pies will struggle this year, especially the mids without a decent ruck and so many big names gone from the engine room, even Greewood gone now.

      Kev · 29/03/2015 at 08:59

Barlow would be a great upgrade target after the byes. Picked him last year and did no wrong. He's had some ankle issues over the preseason. I like Ward as a POD, doesn't draw the tag as often as I thought and when he does he still produces some respectable numbers

        I N Pieman · 29/03/2015 at 09:15

Agree Kev. Had Barlow for plenty of last year as well. He’s reliable. But his preseason has been interrupted with unjury. So maybe later.

    Tony · 29/03/2015 at 19:56

I think Ward would be a good choice. Think he might see less attention this year.

Ageneral3 · 29/03/2015 at 04:16

I Like no Gazza, and love McIntosh pick, thanks. But I am living life a little more safely by leaving out Nic Nat. Best of luck with SSchhhhhaunnnnn Higgins.

    Kev · 29/03/2015 at 08:52

Korza · 29/03/2015 at 08:45

Tex Walker is a great pick

Tulendeena · 29/03/2015 at 08:55

Done way too much thinking about this, and I have a structure I'm fairly happy with

Shaw, Hodge, Newnes, Kolodjashni, Goodes, Saad (McIntosh, Hamling)

Ablett, Fyfe, Priddis, Parker, Griffin, Newton, Cripps, Ellis-Yolmen (Heeney, Vandenberg, Miller)

Mumford, Maric (Read)

Gray, Goddard, Swan, Salem, Clark, Lambert (Hogan, Lamb)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated πŸ˜€

    I N Pieman · 29/03/2015 at 09:26

Nice team. Hard to fault. Think you will do well with it. Solid structures. Good luck.

    MBjdfskd · 29/03/2015 at 16:25

Love Hodge but body is too old, he is bound to be rested or spend weeks out with injury…too risky

Matt · 29/03/2015 at 09:04

Griffen, Judd, Neale or Swallow?

    I N Pieman · 29/03/2015 at 09:28

All have the ability to crash through 600k. Griffin most likely but Judd could be worth the risk. But I wouldn’t pick Judd thinking he’s a keeper. He breaks too often

    Tulendeena · 29/03/2015 at 09:46

    Griffen for sure

    all are good options though

parker/swan OR

Hi Community! Would love some feedback on my team please.

Simpson, Shaw, Newnes, Goodes, Edwards, Saad, Oxley, Hamling
Ablett, Pendlebury, Selwood, Beams, Griffin, Newton, Cripps, Vandenberg, Ellis-Yolmen, Miller, Steele
Mumford, Goldstein, Read
Gray, Martin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Lambert, Lonie, Hogan

$130,900 left.

    Derek · 29/03/2015 at 12:49

Your defence doesn’t look balanced. Two expensive players and many rookies, might need some mid-price madness to get a decent score

creeker · 29/03/2015 at 11:03

Crouching one – what's the deal here ? No Brandon Ellis. Significant, to many bloody rum cans if you ask me #welcome.

R3 man · 29/03/2015 at 11:27

Hi Guys,

A lot of people are going with two premo rucks and Read as R3 but with no link man in the forward line. What's the plan should one of you key rucks goes down for a week or two? Is it worth burning a trade to go sideways from someone like Goldy when he'll probably be top 3 rucks at the end of of the year?

    I N Pieman · 29/03/2015 at 11:52

If one falls over trade em. No point in having a TBC or Ryder in the fwd line IMO.

    Derek · 29/03/2015 at 12:46

    My plan is to trade

      R3 man · 29/03/2015 at 12:52

Thanks gents. It's a interesting dilemma. What if Goldy or Mummy get suspended for 1 week? Blowing a trade to save 1 week seems like a lot. But I guess it depends on what you're shooting for or where you're sitting overall.

        I N Pieman · 29/03/2015 at 13:11

That all depends on how many trades you have

Cyril is Delicious · 29/03/2015 at 11:42

DEF:Simpson, Shaw, Newnes, Higgins, Goodes, Saad (Hamling,Edwards)

MIDS: Ablett, Pendlebury, Fyfe, J.Selwood, Griffen, Cripps, Heeney, Ellis-Yolmen (Vandenberg, Freeman, Miller)

RUCKS: Goldstein , Lycett (Read)

FWDS: Gray, Bartell, Swan, Salem, Clark, Hogan, (Lambert, Daniel)

Also have $59,600 in the bank. Would love any thoughts, ideas, or opinions. Cheers community!

    Lachie · 29/03/2015 at 12:09

    I love this team. I wouldn't change a thing

    I N Pieman · 29/03/2015 at 12:47

    Nice one Cyril. Very solid

    Phil · 29/03/2015 at 13:20

Cyril, some might not, but I like the Freeman inclusion. Could be like Crouch 2 years ago when we all knew he was good but left him out when unnamed, only to come in Round 2 and make it do difficult to get him in. His SC score/tog is very impressive too. I reckon midifled rookies are a little awkward this year in that they're either too good for the bench, or not good enough/too expensive on it. At 123k Freeman can sit there nicely. If not named Round 1, he will carve up the VFL and be in there sooner rather than later.

      Derek · 29/03/2015 at 14:09

I also like Krackour for same reason, plus he is very cheap and has a DDP so I can swing Lambert around.

        Phil · 29/03/2015 at 14:22

Me too Derek big fan of Krakouer. I'mhoping Freeman is named and I'll pick both

Lewis · 29/03/2015 at 12:02

Judd, Neale, Swan or Steven as a GAJ stepping stone

    JoeWoolcock · 29/03/2015 at 12:52

    1. Swan, 2. Judd, 3. Neale, 4. Steven

    Bonters · 29/03/2015 at 13:02

    just pick GAJ

      I N Pieman · 29/03/2015 at 13:59

      Agreed bonters

John · 29/03/2015 at 12:59

Thoughts on my high risk, high reward team
Def – shaw, newnes, Higgins, white (Carl), Pearce, mcintosh (saad, oxley)
Mids – fyfe, beams, Parker, danger, griffen, cripps, Heeney, yol-man, (vandenburg, Steele, lambert,
Rucks – Goldstein,bellchambers (nank)
Fwd – bartel, Martin, benell, swan, bont, Salem (Clark, lonie)

I know it's a heavy forward line but that is my pod to other teams. I also think I will still make cash in other areas.

Thoughts

eatemalive · 29/03/2015 at 13:01

Bob Murphy – Def $475,700 – what's everyone's thoughts on him as a POD ? I know my man Lekdog is very bullish ( excuse the pun ) about his output this year.

Bonters · 29/03/2015 at 13:02

Im getting slightly worried about picking Bontempelli, and with 80k in the bank, does anyone reckon it would be worth picking up someone like Dahlhaus or Nick Riewoldt instead with the extra cash?

Dahl will be far more conistent and should at least hold his 92 average, if not push it up to 95-100.

    Derek · 29/03/2015 at 14:13

I’ve decided to go with the Bont, the fact that Cooney, griffin have abandoned ship and Libba is wounded, this is actually a good think for Bont. He will get attention but he will be in the guts working hard and at his price you can take a risk.

      Bonters · 29/03/2015 at 16:53

Yes agree, but you'd think missing all those players would help Dahlhaus' mid time and scoring as well. I'm just worried that Bont has the capacity to pump out the odd 50-60, whereas Dahlhaus should be able to work those lower scores out of his game.

I'm doubtless going to be swapping between them all week.

        splinter · 29/03/2015 at 19:20

        pick dahl, no looking back

Mini · 29/03/2015 at 13:28

Go on community, rip into my team! Feedback is appreciated!

Shaw, Gibson, Newnes, Kolo, Goodes, Saad, Oxley, Hamling
Ablett, Pendlebury, Selwood, Beams, Griffin, Cripps, Heeney, Vandenberg, Ellis-Yolmen, Miller, Steele
Mumford, Goldstein, Read
Gray, Martin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Lambert, Lonie, Krakouer

    John · 29/03/2015 at 13:34

Rookies in fwd line seem risky in particular both krak and lambert. Both may not get early games which could leave you exposed should injury strike. I am personally not sold on gibo in defence as you premo. Much prefer shaw. Mids are solid.

      Mini · 29/03/2015 at 13:46

I do have Shaw down there…

    Marco_Polo94 · 29/03/2015 at 14:23

Solid mate, very hard to find a fault with it

Phil · 29/03/2015 at 13:31

For a while now I've been against picking Swan. I reckon there's at least 3 premiums looking like coming out of the blocks early and at least at 3 rookies that I want starting. Plus don't like his Round 12 bye. But more importantly I'm not convinced he will average 100 this year.

But you need a plan if you're not picking Ablett. I'm not interested in a Neale or Judd type, Wells, Rich and Wallis were all in my team at some stage yesterday (I changed it a lot, Thursday come already!) but I don't like them either. Then I realised Swan is the man. You can't lose this way imo. I'll give Swan 4 games and he'll either smash it and stay, or as Im expecting, struggle and become a downgrade which will eventually be used to fund Gaz. Good plan?

    Rock-MAN · 29/03/2015 at 13:45

    Swan will Avg. 95-100.
    Top 5 FWD there.

Your either gonna fall behind everyone, or be ahead of everyone else with not Picking Swan.

    I N Pieman · 29/03/2015 at 14:12

Phil the 2 players most will have is Swan & Newnes. I don't think Newnes will hurt you too bad if you don't pick him from the start. But if swanny gets back to good form that could be painful & put you at a huge disadvantage. Almost first picked.

I N Pieman · 29/03/2015 at 14:22

Ballsy team crouching. Higgins walker Henderson. Not
Keen on any of those boys personally

Jonathan · 29/03/2015 at 14:25

Thoughts on Mitch Duncan?…

$537,800 MIDFIELDER – GEELONG

Averaged 101 over the NAB Challenge campaign…

Have NOT heard anything about him from anyone or any websites. Guess I'll be the only one picking him!

Nice work Crouching. This is by far my favorite team reveal so far. No doubt because it is the closest in structure and players to my team. I hope for both our sakes that you have a very successful start to the year.

James · 29/03/2015 at 21:34

Hi everyone,

I have been struggling with my team for the last couple of days. Come you please help me out because I feel that my team isn't quite right yet.

DEFENDERS: Shaw, Newnes, Higgins, Ibbotson, Henderson, Saad, Edwards, McKenzie

MIDFIELDERS: Ablett, Pendlebury, Fyfe, Selwood, Griffen, Cripps, Heeney, Vandenburg, Ellis-Yolmen, Freeman, Lambert

RUCKS: Natanui, Leuenberger, Brooksby

FORWARDS: Goddard, Martin, Westhoff, Swan, Salem, Blease, Daniels, Krakouer

Thanks

    Crowls · 01/04/2015 at 16:10

saw reserch showing ibbo scores linked to intercept marks.. due to changes in team not likely to score well this year. kk should get run off backline or wing. plenty of upside. imo got to have goodes

Poor Crouch · 30/03/2015 at 07:24

Hey Guys

Thoughts on my team?
My team seems to be fairly similar to most however have a couple POD's.
Ive gone Martin in the Mid to provide MPP with Fwd line.
Set and forget Ruck
Mid Priced Defence hoping to uncover a couple keepers, also upgrading to premium defenders should be cheaper than upgrading to premium mids.

DEF: Gibson, Newnes, Lumumba, Goodes, Brown, McIntosh (Saad, Oxley)

MID: Fyfe, Selwood, Parker, Dangerfield, Wines, Martin, Cripps, EYC (Newton, Heeney, Vandenberg)

RUCK: Mumford, Goldstein (Cox)

FWD: Gray, Bartel, Betts, Salem, Clark, Lambert (Hogan, Lamb)

Thanks

    Dylan · 30/03/2015 at 20:02

    Fair team.

Not sure on betts as he is inconsistent at times ( better off with swan or bontipelli

Like danger, Parker and wines as pod, maybe need to upgrade one of these to ultra premium that has a higher average. (They all could go to the next level tho).. High risk high return tho!

      Poor Crouch · 31/03/2015 at 07:13

My reason for Betts is, new coach & slightly new role. In previous years he would come in and out of games which limited his scoring. He seems to be included in the midfield rotation now when he starts missing out on the ball up forward. Figure if he can increase his scoring by 10 a game he becomes a value pick in the low 400's.
He is also my stepping stone to get Ablett in to my team. Crows have a soft start to the year with 5 winnable games

Just an observation here and having a look at my own team I noticed the same thing in CrouchingOne's, and just wanted community thoughts. I have a number of players in my team with duel position whether it be fwd/mid, fwd/def, or def/mid, but all of my starting midfielders are strictly mid (Pendlebury, Kennedy, beams etc).

Probably a dumb question, but how would you utilise the duel position effectively, if you have limited players to shift in and out in your starting line up?
