Supercoach 2015

NAB Challenge DONE – and we learnt a hell of a lot in the last weekend of games.

The two major points of discussion are the Gary Ablett situation – and also the defence rookie relief that the Supercoach Gods appeared to have bestowed upon us.
This next fortnight will not be easy. I urge you stay calm – to do your research – plan for contingencies – and get stuck into this week’s podcast like nobodies business.

Heya Jock!

Will there be a Div 3 league this year??

KJU FC · 22/03/2015 at 22:08

Thoughts on James Kelly? Scored 100 today

    pauly walnuts · 22/03/2015 at 22:14

kelly 30k more than taylor , similar output me thinks ,I will use the 30k elsewhere

      Fan of Bonters · 22/03/2015 at 22:24

should be more consistent than Taylor tho

    Sarah · 24/03/2015 at 11:02

I've got him in my team!

    I N Pieman · 24/03/2015 at 13:55

Good Selection for mine this year.

James · 22/03/2015 at 22:08

Hey community,

Do we keep Nick Nat or look for an upgrade?
Looked quiet under done tonight. Thoughts?

    cow roll · 23/03/2015 at 01:47

keep but watch. good value but inconsistent player.
at his height, only Jacob and Sandi can match him.

    Danners16 · 23/03/2015 at 18:13

If you have the money, it might be worth upgrading him. He has Lycett there fighting for a spot as well

    @emhoy · 23/03/2015 at 19:15

Wise words from a friend today I am going to keep him, even if he averages 85 for first few rounds he is still good value and has a high ceiling.

    ThePunchingBag · 23/03/2015 at 19:28

I just traded him. Very much under done. Looking at Will Minson as my 2nd ruck

jim · 22/03/2015 at 22:12

Brilliant boys

sean · 22/03/2015 at 22:12

Pick 2 out of
Bartel, Gray, Martin…

    jim · 22/03/2015 at 22:12

    Gray and Martin Just

    Keaton marin · 22/03/2015 at 22:15

I had gray and dusty but have wanted all 3 for weeks. Just went swan to bartel today so got all 3 for now.

      Marco_Polo94 · 22/03/2015 at 23:13

ahaha did the same a week ago. And it looks bloody good!

    Gray and Bartel

    Danners16 · 23/03/2015 at 18:14

Gray and Bartel, seems like Bartel has wound back the clock

@RyanRhino14 · 22/03/2015 at 22:20

What do you guys reckon is the better combo?
Gray and Wells with 36,700 left or Priddis and Bellchambers with 86,300 left

    jmy7 · 22/03/2015 at 22:26

gray and wells, youll loose your money on bellchambers anyways probably

    Declan · 22/03/2015 at 22:30

Gray and wells mate, although i like priddis, bellchambers looks like he'll only average 80 odd

Jack · 22/03/2015 at 22:26

Joel Selwood, Rory Sloane or Matt Priddis. Pick 2?

    carlashirley90 · 22/03/2015 at 22:32

    Selwood and Priddis

    James · 22/03/2015 at 22:44

    Selwood and Sloane for me

      Motsy · 22/03/2015 at 22:57

Selwood and Sloane by a country mile.

      cow roll · 23/03/2015 at 01:48

      yes

    TigerTuff · 22/03/2015 at 22:55

    Selwood & Sloane

    Danners16 · 23/03/2015 at 18:15

Sloane and Priddis, I think the scaling will probably affect Selwood, could be bought cheaper in the bye rounds

Ricky · 22/03/2015 at 23:28

Boys, sorting out some sort of team structure,

What’s everyone’s thoughts on this light n easy mid?

Ablett, dangerfield, kenedy, pendles, rich, Newton, Cripps, rookie (ellis yolmen/heeny or vandenberg)

So is that mid too weak?

    PJ8 · 23/03/2015 at 09:28

Would like to see M5 stronger, see if you can re-structure elsewhere then get another premo in M5 and make Rich M6.

It's important to go stong in the MID, thats your main scoring area

Rod · 22/03/2015 at 23:47

Nic Nat or Minson?? This is for R2

    PJ8 · 23/03/2015 at 08:20

Tough one Rod. I have NicNat but not sure after watching him. Minson huge POD go him

    Redgumwon · 24/03/2015 at 13:06

I've gone for Goldy and Maric

Bill · 22/03/2015 at 23:50

    Andrew · 23/03/2015 at 00:41

    Langdon

Andrew · 22/03/2015 at 23:54

I really like the cheat sheets as they give me some food for thought for rookies, and premos (not so much mid-pricers as I don't particularly use mid-pricers), so, are there gonna me more versions released closer to the lockout?

    PJ8 · 23/03/2015 at 08:23

Your exactly right, the cheat sheets are a gold mine for people who don't have foxfooty and can't watch the NAB. By far my fav SC tool on here.
For memory over the past 2 years there has been up to 3 versions of each. I would be very surprised if there wasn't another 1 of each.

throttlefinger · 23/03/2015 at 00:10

Dementia bit was gold, gents. Spit out me morning pancakes over that one.

Leaning no Gaz. 130 is a lot to ask. If he was cheaper, I'd roll the dice. And shoulder injuries nothing to sneeze at. Easier draw makes decision easier as he won't be needed as much.

One thing I took away from NAB 3 round is that the SC Gods may grant us 3 starting DEF rooks. Have Goodes as D4 now. Hoping to kick to the curb for a rook. Make my mids even juicier.

    derek · 23/03/2015 at 12:02

the fact that Suns are playing two easy teams to start is making me keep gaz in my team. If he plays he will score 200, he just won't be able to help himself.

      Dig Dug · 23/03/2015 at 19:52

Or he'll be red vested and introduced slowly

        Dee · 23/03/2015 at 20:57

If you think he'll get vested then don't put him in your team, he'll drop in value and pick him up Round 3 or 4 for a cheaper price…. So hard to press the trade button on him tho. Eade said he should be ready to play Round 1. I bloody hope so….

Borko · 23/03/2015 at 00:27

Some serious mid priced madness taking place on SEN right now … So-called ‘expert’ from SC Paige. Misguided advice to the masses methinks … Newnes at d1, griffin at m3? #getjockinthestudio

    shezza · 23/03/2015 at 02:03

Yeah heard Damon. He picked a weak team and left Ablett out

    PJ8 · 23/03/2015 at 08:26

Wouldn't surprise me if they misguide everyone because they want to take out as much SC opposition as they can to try win for themselves.

This community is the greatest, selfless and hilarious

    Jack · 23/03/2015 at 15:41

Newnes at D1? That’s bold. Newnes is my D5 lol

      Keg · 23/03/2015 at 20:07

I’ve just traded out wells, rich and swan for wines, jimmy and heeney

Means I have 1 rookie (Ellis-y, heeney, lambert or Steele at this stage) starting each week.

      Thoughts?
Ps- swan / jimmy in forwards

@t_woof · 23/03/2015 at 00:35

Excellent podcast lads!!

Crouching's Pyan Ma stories are so good. Had me in stitches again this weekend.

Enjoy the week ahead community!

Andrew · 23/03/2015 at 00:41

Scott Selwood$433,100. Only played todays game but scored 117 with 63% TOG. That is a very, very good return game considering the TOG. Thoughts?

    PJ8 · 23/03/2015 at 08:39

Would be a massive POD. Averaged 104 in '12 and '13 then even though missed a big chunk of last year didn't start the year well with only 3 tons in the first 11 games.

So has averaged well in the past but over those 2 years scoring of 140,70,80,130,70,80 etc. was how he got there, rather more consistently in the MID and i can't see the Eagles being a great side, can see him being inconsistent throughout this year and perhaps average 90. No doubt will bob up every now and then and score big as his history shows and as he did yesterday.

No for mine, but just my take on him.

    Patch · 23/03/2015 at 10:08

He's taken the tagging role for a long time at West Coast, so be wary of that when looking at him. He scores better than most taggers, but most taggers average 70 so it isn't saying much. He presents value but much more value can be found in Rich or Wells, and even around that price range you've got Judd and Neale who I'd feel safer with.

      Jim · 23/03/2015 at 18:52

I think that was his older brother who was the tagger?

Paul · 23/03/2015 at 07:30

Newton or Cripps? Also Will Steele get early games? Who would you rather have out of Steele and Heeney?I can sub Steele forward and give Hogan the flick, since he hasn't done much.

    PJ8 · 23/03/2015 at 08:43

I have Newton and Cripps, try get both as they look to generate fast cash and have had multiple years in the system rather than first year rookies. If had to pick one i would go Newton.

Can't see Steele getting games at the moment, hope he does. Heeney over Steele by a street.

I would out Steele and keep Hogan, yes Hogan is a KPP but has great JS and will make money easy.

    I N Pieman · 23/03/2015 at 09:05

Steele not getting a game wasn't a great sign. Might be a downgrade option at some point. Also a massive vest candidate.

tom · 23/03/2015 at 08:26

JPK or Parker?

    PJ8 · 23/03/2015 at 09:01

    JPK

    Marco_Polo94 · 23/03/2015 at 09:01

    Aston Martin or Ferrari?

    I N Pieman · 23/03/2015 at 09:10

JPK for mine. But Parker will be a big POD.

The bont · 23/03/2015 at 08:44

Help please ??

Bontempelli or langford ?

2 of the following 3 : goddard, martin, bartel

Thankyou ! 🙂

    dellagz · 23/03/2015 at 09:00

    bontempelli
    Martin & Jimmy

    PJ8 · 23/03/2015 at 09:01

    Bont
    Martin, Bartel

I N Pieman · 23/03/2015 at 10:07

Great Pod gents & a huge weekend of fantasy footy. Saw exactly why Melbourne offered pick 2 for Isaac Heeney. Locked into my mids now. Cripps looks like a very solid mid pick. Kamdyn Macintosh did his chances for round 1 no harm. I like the fact Mitch Clarke pinch hit in the Ruck, he's a lock. Brett Goodes a late bolter for mid price selection down back. Little concerned his opposition was putrid. So much to ponder between now & round 1.

    Pauly Walnuts · 23/03/2015 at 10:41

Wise words Pie Man about Goodes ! Still a Rookie ?

    Sarah · 23/03/2015 at 11:28

Hi INP. Shame the crows defensive rookies are unlikely to get a gig round 1… however Ellis-Yoleman has looked awesome during the preseason. At $123k he is locked onto my midfield bench and you should get on him too!!

      I N Pieman · 23/03/2015 at 13:06

All over him Sarah. He looks a real find for your boys. Hopefully Lever & Wigg pop up during the year. Mt Walnuts I'm sure they will upgrade Goodes. They will want to blend youth & experience. He's not scoring 120 every week. I'd say 70-80 is probably more like the mark. But if he can sustain that sort of average it does make him value.

Ryan K · 23/03/2015 at 10:50

Rich or Newton?

Rich is my M6 and have Cripps at M7 already.

    Cezza93 · 23/03/2015 at 12:22

I dont see Rich being a top 15 mid this year with that kind of company (beams, rockliff, christensen, redden). And if Newton is named Rd1 he will surely go up in more value then Rich.

      I N Pieman · 23/03/2015 at 13:08

Agreed Cezza. Doubt Rich would crack the league top 30 mids. If your taking him it has to be with the view of moving him on. Personally I think he's fools gold.

Marco_Polo94 · 23/03/2015 at 11:27

Fantastic Pod, did well to cram that much information in. Absolutely lost it over jocks dementia comment aha.

I'm not fussed about Nic nats low score. However a few things concerned me. Up until Lycett got subbed off I'm pretty sure he attended more ruck contests then Nic Nat. Is this a sign for the season? Also how did he look? Was he running hard looking fit and healthy, or did he seem a little off the pace? I'm a little nervy about selecting NN now but part of me wants to keep him, because I see a lot of people jumping off him.

I love the fact Neale had an average hit out, I reckon people might not want to lock him in now. If he had another 30 possession game every man and his dog would have jumped on him. Little worried about his consistency but I'm willing to gamble that worst case scenario, he will appreciate enough to jump to a fallen premo.

Swan lock still. Love him. Toyed with a Martin Bartel Gray forward line, but I think there is too much value in swan to leave him out.

Bellchambers is an interesting case.. Who has the plums to select him? Barring asada, I think he's still a good pick as I see him averaging 80+. Can't stress how crucial that ruck/forward swing will be when one of our rucks goes down.

Don't think I'm going to start with Gaz even if he starts round one. Saw a stat on freako that said last time he was Injured his first 5 games back he averaged about 100. Might be reading too much into it, but there's enough doubt there to not risk a $730 k player.

    Phil · 23/03/2015 at 13:20

Some good points Marco and agree with NicNat and Ablett, i think they're both too risky for one reason or another and as such won't make my team.

I was never really interested in Neale but mainly because I'm a Gun/Rookie strategy when it comes to my midfield. Having said that out of all the mid pricers I like him best and wouldn't be put off by his game on the weekend. Between him Wells & Rich I believe all 3 will be okay, and not hurt you if you select (or don't select) them.

Swan is an interesting one. Sure he's cheap but he still needs to average 100+ to be worthwhile. Bontempelli has spiked my interest. He averaged the same as Wines did in his 1st year, then Wines went 100 in 2nd. Can Bonts follow?
Really like Bellchambers. I see no reason at all that he can't average 85 if fit. He's done it before, he's still young for a ruckman and amazingly he is a pod. And of course the R/F swing.

      Marco · 23/03/2015 at 13:59

Is worrying bellchambers hasn’t played a nab game tho (right?). Just makes it a risk. I mean look at nic NAT. He was locked in everyone’s team. Then a bit of unrest missing the first two nab games. One average game against sandilands and everyone is jumping ship. Part of me thinks I should just go two Premos and negate all risk

        cow roll · 23/03/2015 at 15:51

If it's too much risk, go premium then trade down to NN when he's starting to play like a premo. Or you can go with a ruck around NN's price then trade sideways.

      I N Pieman · 23/03/2015 at 15:41

Interesting Phil that Bont & Wines had a similar average. But there is a difference. Wines plays in a star stutted team that missed the GF last year by a kick. The Doggies will be a bottom 6 team & Griffen Cooney & Libba gone or unavailable then Bont is a marked man. I thought about it for a bit but I cant find a spot for him.

    derek · 23/03/2015 at 14:35

I was watching NN closely all game, I saw him skipping and dancing on his toes a lot, almost like he was tring too hard to look fit and healthy, hear what I'm saying? he did seem out of position a lot, in fact he picked up a few cheap poss as he was jogging around the park looking for his opponent. I have put a line through him

      Marco_Polo94 · 23/03/2015 at 15:17

hmmm if that's the case I'm not rolling the dice with him

The bont · 23/03/2015 at 11:31

What do you guys think of lycett as 2nd ruckman ? Or just stick with nic nat

    derek · 23/03/2015 at 14:31

don't like the idea of any of my rucks sharing the role. I want Lone wolves. I would even consider Pyke or Hickey ahead of lyctt because of that.

      cow roll · 23/03/2015 at 14:42

He will be the lone wolf but whether he has fully recovered is another issue.

        bangles · 23/03/2015 at 15:59

is it worth having lycett in my FWD line providing cover for rucks?

Luke Ellingsen · 23/03/2015 at 12:18

Is any one going to go zac smith for a ruck option

    Cezza93 · 23/03/2015 at 12:21

No for me, Nicholls and Smith are both very achieved ruckman they will steal one anothers scores through my eyes.

Cezza93 · 23/03/2015 at 12:20

Any Idea of where Birchall is at?

    Worm · 23/03/2015 at 12:43

Hawks injury list on AFL website updated today and still has him at 1-2 weeks. Guess he is still some chance for Round 1, but has me looking at other options

      derek · 23/03/2015 at 14:30

Birchall has been full training for 2 weeks, he will play round 1.

        Worm · 23/03/2015 at 15:37

        Good news! Thanks Derek

        Cezza93 · 23/03/2015 at 16:45

        Champion, thanks mate

Worm · 23/03/2015 at 12:47

Like the mention of Marley Williams, Higgo! Underrated player, excellent one on one. That said, not sure he will be used in a role where he can average more than about 80. But outside of Fantasy, think he will have a great year!

    I N Pieman · 23/03/2015 at 13:15

Would you be picking Marley Williams as a keeper? in the 360-380 range there are no shortage of possible break out guys. But know one knows with certainty who it will be. I'm sure at least one will. Williams is another maybe guy. If the weekend was anything to go by I'll be going with Swan & Pendles & that would be all. Looks like a long year for my boys. As long as Buckley gets sacked I'll declare that a successful year.

      Worm · 23/03/2015 at 13:27

Yeah just Swan and Pendles for me too… Sounds like Scharenberg a chance for return mid season and haven't crossed Freeman off my list yet either.
No love for Bucks? Surely you don't wish we still had Malthouse?

        I N Pieman · 23/03/2015 at 13:50

Really looking forward to getting a look at Scharenberg Worm. Personally I wasn't impressed by the way Maltiballs coached the 2011 GF. He refused to anything about Hawkins when clearly he was announcing himself. And it was punished. Roosy doesn't mind an open cheque book. Hopefully when he's finished lining his pockets at Melbourne Eddie can hand him another open chequebook. The only thing Nathan has given us is some decent draft picks & a one way ticket backwards.

Dwain · 23/03/2015 at 13:00

Does anyone have the go-nads to select buddy franklin as captain round 1 if the Essendon players receive a ban?

    Worm · 23/03/2015 at 13:11

have him pencilled in as VC loophole option, bans or not…

    I N Pieman · 23/03/2015 at 13:25

If your ever considering Buddy for VC check the weather forecast. Any sign of rain & he's in for 30 points.

tom mitchell · 23/03/2015 at 13:34

So im very happy with my team with 120k left over

Pendles, Priddis, Sloane, Boak
JPK, P Cripps, J Anderson, Heeney Van Den berg, freeman, Miller

Ruck

fwd:
Gray, Bennell, Swan
Bellchambers, Hogan, Salem Clark, daniel

    Gold Rush · 23/03/2015 at 13:54

Reckon 6 of your Rookies will not play round 1, that will be sorted out soon.

    derek · 23/03/2015 at 14:27

not even looking at your rookies, that will be sorted out next week.

What does your "Ablett" team look like?

Like your three RUC. solid big men.
DEF is ok, nothing to risky or flashy, honest.
MIDS without either Fyfe or Selwood you might be 1 ultra premo short.
FWD: I rekon if you have goldy and minson in ruck you don't need Bellchambers as back up, ditch him and get a proper player!

Spifflicators · 23/03/2015 at 14:08

Is Cameron at approx $320 a better target for the Bruyn manoeuvre than Jack? He has done a full preseason, has a soft start, kicked 5 against Sydney and is $120k cheaper.

Thoughts on using him at F3/4

good POD. He just signed for 5 years or something too. so nothing over his head all about the footy

    Rawkus11 · 23/03/2015 at 18:01

Great POD, wish i had the balls to do it but will stick with guns/rooks

NateCrows · 23/03/2015 at 14:43

Gaz not playing any NAB games means to me he no longer holds the lock category. 700K+ is too much for someone who hasn't played a games in NAB. Will be underdone if he does indeed play. But, then his scoring output will surely drop in first 1-5 rounds and so will $$$

This then leaves me with a choice to upgrade two players and downgrade to wells in the middle and and upgrades tom lynch to dusty and nic nat to the ivan mullet man, This slightly modifies then mid structure. putting griffen into M4 instead of 5. Looks like i will run with wells, cripps, vanden berg and broekhorst

If he plays im worried as he could be as fresh as a newborn ass and pip out a 200.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

thoughts????

    I N Pieman · 23/03/2015 at 15:25

It's a massive call either way Nate. Last time GAJ didn't play a preseason match he missed the ton 3 out of the first 5. Round 6 he was back to himself with 197. If you don't take him have some contingency plans on how to get him in quick smart. I'm unsure what I'll be doing at this stage. I wouldn't have Boekhorst on the park. He hasn't scored very well & is a maybe for round 1 & stuff all JS. He's out of my team as there are better options. Cripps & Vandenberg currently occupy my M7-8.

      The Ranger · 23/03/2015 at 15:42

      Afternoon Pieman,
      Cripps above Newton you think?

        I N Pieman · 23/03/2015 at 16:02

From what I have seen Ranger Cripps all day. If it proves to be wrong it's an easy sideways correction. I like the look of Vandenberg over Newton.

          NateCrows · 23/03/2015 at 16:03

          Yeah cripps easily

            The Ranger · 23/03/2015 at 16:11

            Thanks gents.
I havent seen any of the Blues games so good to get the tip.
I wondered if Cripps will get as much game time as Newton?
Vandenberg is sitting pretty on my bench.

      NateCrows · 23/03/2015 at 15:49

      With GAJ

Murphy, Yarran, Newnes, Higgins, Pearce Brown
GAJ, Fyfe, Priddis, Danger, Griffen, Cripps, Vandenberg
      Goldy Nic nat
Swan, Bennel, Bartel, T Lynch (adel) DSalem, Clark

      Without GAJ
Murphy, Yarran, Newnes, Higgins, Lumumba Brown
Fyfe, Priddis, Danger, Griffen, Cripps, Vandenberg, Henney or CEY
      Goldy, Maric
Swan, Bennel, Martin, Bartel, Salem, Clark

close but changes my mid prices on the backline or could keep the $$$ for GAJ and moves nic nat to maric and t lynch to martin…

both good options. Trouble is he will be named on the extended bench but not sure whether he will play….

        Sarah · 23/03/2015 at 16:09

Like it NateCrows! I've got my eye on T Lynch too… Thought I was the only one though!!!

          NateCrows · 23/03/2015 at 16:19

Thanks Sarah now what to do with GAJ…

GoonerSam#44 · 23/03/2015 at 15:19

Hey guys thoughts on my team I have $101,300 left the treasure chest?!

DEF N Malceski, K Simpson, H Shaw, J Newnes, T Langdon, S Edwards (H Goodard, A Saad)

MID G Ablett, T Rockliff, N Fyfe, R Griffen, P Cripps,I Heeney, B Boekhurst, A Vandenberg (J Anderson, C Ellis-Yoelman, J Steele)

RUC S Mumford, T Goldstein (T Read)

FWD B Delidio, D Martin, D Swan, C Salem, M Clark, K Lambert (J Hogan, N Krakouer)

I'm troubled with GAJ if I should keep him cos of being maybe in doubt for round 1?
Also I'm not sure if 4 good quality experienced midfielders like Ablett Rockliff Fyfe Griffen will be enough? So should I go with an M4 or M5? Please help me out that would be great

    I N Pieman · 23/03/2015 at 15:32

Get to at least M5. Too much spend in defence for mine. Don't expect Steel Boekhorst Goddard or Krak to line up in round 1. Suggest Macintosh Miller & Daniel more likely.

    Phil · 23/03/2015 at 15:50

i like your Forwards and Rucks, but as far as the other lines go ditch Gaz for a cheaper safe premium like Selwood/Pendlebury and then you wanna ditch Boekhurst for another premium. To fund it downgrade 2 of your defenders. Goodes (if promoted) should give you similar (or only slightly less) than any of your defenders for 200k less.

    shezza · 24/03/2015 at 18:44

This is one of the best teams I’ve seen.

Jezza · 23/03/2015 at 15:22

Looking for alternatives now that Ablett hasnt had a proper hit out during the NAB. 730k is just too much risk, and I've started planning my side without him in it. Not having him in my side actually allows me to put some more cash into my rucks and leave them almost for the entire season (barring injury).

Depending on whether or not he's named round one, here is what my non-Ablett team looks like:

MIDS: Pendles, Selwood, JPK, Priddis, Lewis, Newton, Cripps, Ellis-Yolmen

Rucks: Goldy, Maric

If he does play however, here's what my team will look like instead:

MIDS: Ablett, Pendles, JPK, Priddis, Lewis, Newton, Cripps, Ellis-Yolmen

Rucks: Maric, Minson

Thoughts?

Daniel Murphy · 23/03/2015 at 15:27

the big "russian" Mark Jamar thoughts?

    Jesse Levesque · 23/03/2015 at 15:28

I like him can see him averaging 80 – 90 this year

James DUncan · 23/03/2015 at 15:27

Daniel Gorringe? worth it

    Redgumwon · 24/03/2015 at 14:19

    No

Worm · 23/03/2015 at 15:42

Saad promoted – happy days!

Paul · 23/03/2015 at 15:42

Bontempelli or Swan? I know Swan is a proven premo, but, Swan is getting older and I don't know if he will score well. Bont on the other hand, is young, and he looks very good…

Thoughts?

    Wayne · 24/03/2015 at 16:05

been discussing this on another site. Swan looked totally disinterested against doggies. believe he will play HF and not through mids as lacking run. Therefore likely 90-95 pt player. Bont was stunning last weekend and looks like another Pendles. He will lack consistency and likely pick up tagger but his style of go and get it game and ability to shrug of the tackle will score well in SC.
I have gone Bont and dropped Swan. i figure if swan does string a couple of games together I can bring him in later,

pauly walnuts · 23/03/2015 at 15:44

W.Minson – I'm considering him at R2 but what are peoples thoughts on him getting the tap only for it to be sharked by the better midfields in the comp ? Will this will impact his score with the new scoring system ? No Libba also ? Do we go for Rucks in the stronger sides with gun mids ? The position is doing my head in !!

Phil · 23/03/2015 at 15:53

Newton reminds me very much of Viv Michie last year….Anyone else?

    Phil · 23/03/2015 at 16:00

Mature aged big body midfielder, absolute gun who couldn't break into his own side because he played for a Top4 team with a plethora of talented midfielders, dominated arguably the second strongest league in the country (SANFL/WAFL) and now he's moved to a bottom four team where he's gonna start on the ball every week and smash out the 100's. He's also had a great NAB cup.
    Deja vu?

    I N Pieman · 23/03/2015 at 16:12

Newton will get much more opportunity. Vandenberg better value & will probably outscore him assuming he gets promoted.

GoonerSam#44 · 23/03/2015 at 16:06

hey everyone I've just seen on SuperCoach that GAJ has got a little red and white cross next to his name so it looks like he is injured for a bit :/

    Rawkus11 · 23/03/2015 at 18:08

"subject to fitness test" No new news there

Mitch · 23/03/2015 at 16:07

Dont see the Bont in many teams
Im tossing up between him and T.Mitchell
If Mitchell starts round 1 Im thinking he will have a massive year but not sure if Bont can keep it up all year possibly copping a tag with libba out

Bako · 23/03/2015 at 16:10

Scooter or Coniglio?
Also is Phil Davis a decent back line option? Would 2 giants in the defence be too much? What has he previously averaged?

tom · 23/03/2015 at 16:18

PICK ONE

corey · 23/03/2015 at 16:44

who should i get Tom Mitchell Marcus Bont Tom Lynch

    KJU FC · 23/03/2015 at 16:48

would be leaning towards the Bont at the moment but if Mitchell can produce anything like his second half against GWS on the weekend he could also be a valuable option.

tom · 23/03/2015 at 16:45

If we dont pick Gary Ablett do we need someone like wallis/wells/rich in the midfield to help us upgrade to him later?
My current midfield is Pendles, Fyfe, Selwood, Parker, Griffen, Newton, Cripps, Heeney

    Gordo · 23/03/2015 at 18:32

I'm thinking the same thing of going with wallis and leaving the spare cash in the back for when i am confident with gaz, hopefully making some cash along the way

Cezza93 · 23/03/2015 at 16:47

I dunno about others, all this talk of Gaz to Rockcliff is interesting. Personally ill be going to Gaz to Fyfe.

    dognino · 23/03/2015 at 17:30

gaz to fyfe here, then upgraded M6 from a rookie to rich

corey · 23/03/2015 at 16:47

what are your thoughts on Heppell?

    Danners16 · 23/03/2015 at 18:07

Good POD if he doesn't get suspended with the drug saga

David · 23/03/2015 at 16:57

So torn, Bellchambers dosent excite me that much but can we really go in with two rucks with no cover? as soon as we have an injury thats 1 trade burned. Is everyone putting a ruck/fwd in the fwd line?

Wont put Ryder or Lycett up forward, so Bell is the option. I guess Jock is doing it. I think i will be too but i dont love it.

Looking

    dognino · 23/03/2015 at 17:16

I'm going in with 2 premium rucks. If one goes down, straight trade to whoever I want. I can't see TBC being used as cover when he has averaged 9.8 games per season over his career. He is more likely to go down before the ruckmen he's supposed to be covering . Even witha lycett or Ryder you are suffering by having to field an extra rookie in the forward if you need to swing them into the ruck. I think it's better taking the hit, use a trade and keep turds out of my team.

      Phil · 23/03/2015 at 18:25

Fair point but the average of 9.8 games per season isn't probably the best stat to rate a ruckman when we all know they hardly get used in their first few years.

        dognino · 23/03/2015 at 18:48

Even by taking out his first 3 years and only counting his last 4 he averages 13.5. I just can't rely on that as coverage. Don't get me wrong, I hope he plays every game this year, I just don't think he is SC relevant.

          david · 23/03/2015 at 22:05

Ok I’ll risk it. No TBC. Cheers

    Dean · 23/03/2015 at 19:29

I hear ya mate. I had TBC in my forward line for the last 3 months however the last week I changed strategy and took TBC out meaning I have no Ruck/Fwd in my forward line, which does concern me quite a bit to be honest because it's extremely rare for a Ruck to not get injured at some point during the season. Last year was a exception for me and all those who selected to go with Jacobs & Sandilands from day one.

I really thought id start with Callum Sinclair in my forward line after his first NAB challenge game but now im doubtful.

    Dee · 23/03/2015 at 19:32

    Agreed Dognino….

Nash · 23/03/2015 at 17:47

Need help guys. Who do think would be the best mid priced option down back this year???

    Danners16 · 23/03/2015 at 18:07

Newnes, Lumumba, Higgins are all good options. Thumper could be a good POD if Eade does play him on the wing like he said

Rawkus11 · 23/03/2015 at 17:51

I'm lovin N. Cockatoo at the moment! What are your thoughts community? I see him as a major vest candidate because of his ability to impact in bursts but can't bring myself to trade him out just wanna cheer him on all year!!

I have Newton, cripps, VDB, CEY and miler as my other mid rooks. Do you think maybe Heeney is a better option than the Cock??

    Danners16 · 23/03/2015 at 18:02

I would say Heeney would be a better option if you already have a few rookies over 200k

      Rawkus11 · 23/03/2015 at 18:05

Yeah that's where im leaning Danners but like i said having a kid like that to cheer on would be great. He's a gun!!

        Danners16 · 23/03/2015 at 18:10

Don't get me wrong Cockatoo is a good player but I don't see him generating as much points as a Heeney

          @OssieTerron · 24/03/2015 at 18:56

I worry about Heeney getting games in a side that um's and ahhs about Tom Mitchell getting a game

            dognino · 24/03/2015 at 21:01

If he plays well swans won't drop him, look at Cunningham and Lloyd last year. Titch was just unlucky with his foot injury last year and couldn't break back in

    DEE · 23/03/2015 at 19:30

    He's in my side….

Gordo · 23/03/2015 at 18:21

who is the mids is going to score above 8 over the first 3 rounds and get the biggest price rise. worried about ablett the first couple games just want to see how he goes and hopeful make some coin without him without losing to many points?

    Gordo · 23/03/2015 at 18:22

in the mids* and above 80*

Essendon saga to end on weds night before thursdays game. Is it a case of bad luck if we pick any bombers?

derek · 23/03/2015 at 18:49

If Gaz is selected to play Round 1, he is in my team.

Gaz is a 100% professional and understands the risk of playing if not ready, plus he won't want to be a liability to the team. He said to day that he will undergo a tough test to prove his fitness this week while his team mates are on leave.

Suns play Melb, Saints, Cats (he will rise for that one), GWS, bris, crows, WCE……did the Suns do the draw this year???? I want Gaz in my team for that run of games to start the season!

    Tom · 23/03/2015 at 18:58

True but as mentioned in the podcast if the Suns already have the game in the bag he might get subbed off.

NateCrows · 23/03/2015 at 18:51

    eatemalive · 23/03/2015 at 19:09

Timothy · 23/03/2015 at 18:55

I have 4 questions

1. Touk Miller? Will he get many games?

2. Also I'm running with Cripps as my M6. Hopefully, when Ablett returns, and has played a couple of games, Cripps will have generated some cash so I can get Gaz. It wont be a straight swap, but the cash will be there.

3. I'm struggling to find a D5. Do I use a rookie as D5, or go someone like Jaksch or Goodes.

4. In the event of Nic Nat not playing round 1, what are your thoughts on Lycett, Maric, Mcevoy

Cheers

    derek · 23/03/2015 at 19:12

Dean · 23/03/2015 at 19:09

Firstly sorry to post this here guys but am hoping someone here can elaborate how this all works.

JOCK community please help me understand what's the GO with this digital pass this season.
I purchase my digital pass every year, in fact this season I purchased it in late December, I only purchased it that early because I couldn't see any players listed on SC until I got this digital pass.

I always purchased the digital pass just to view the live SC scores but I joined early this season only because I wanted to start playing around with my side ASAP.

My December, January & February bills came to $12 but my March bill came to $24 which I believe is quite expensive considering ALL I want is to be able to view live SC scores.
When I called "News Limited" today they said it's a one off fee which includes the Herald Sun along with numerous other newspaper subscriptions.
I cannot believe it's so expensive just to view live SC points. Is this correct regarding the prices? Do we at least have a option here so we can just subscribe to a digital pass that allows us to view live SC points without all the other stuff?

Lastly they said if I cancelled my digital pass I would lose my SC gold privileges, which is absurd.

Any advise on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    medadsson · 24/03/2015 at 01:17

Hi Dean, Apparently you must have a digital pass for live scores. If you don't need live scores then a simple Supercoach Gold AFL Season Pass is a one of 19.95. Personally. I think the digital pass is a bit rich if all you are interested in is live scores. Last season I was getting live scores off the Foxtel Supercoach Site but not sure if this is the case this year and if you need to be a foxtel subscriber (which I am) so maybe that provides the access. Good luck either way.

      Dean · 24/03/2015 at 15:03

Appreciate your reply. Don't get me wrong as I have always loved receiving the live scores for SC but at $24 a month that figure is absurd. It's NEVER been this high as I have always been a Digital Pass member simply to view the live SC points.

I don't understand why "News Limited" don't offer certain packages as opposed to having just the one offer.
If they incorporated something such as just a SC LIVE SCORE PASS excluding any News paper subscriptions, even if it excludes the SC gold and those who want SC gold still pay the $19.95 one off fee that would be fair.
If they done this it would only allow you to view live SC scores without having the newspapers all included & SC Gold as they do now for $24 per month and charged the price to hypothetically speaking $6 per month just so SC fanatics like myself have access to view live SC scores.

If you enjoy reading the newspapers online, then fair enough those individuals will find paying $24 per month worth it that's for sure. As it stands now they are losing a TON just by not giving people the option.

I seriously believe they would make a fortune just by giving the individual a option rather then just a one off huge fee of $24 per month.

Like I said in the past two seasons, I always purchased the digital subscription but I'll be cancelling it now simply because it's a massive price to pay for those who just want to have access to live SC scores.

Thanks again for your reply. Good luck for the season mate.

Dee · 23/03/2015 at 19:21

If you are up for a challenge this year, feel free to join…. 417065, only a few spots left!

    pauly walnuts · 23/03/2015 at 21:50

    just joined mate,cheers

Mac · 23/03/2015 at 19:23

I see some people are running the D5 structure. I'm thinking of going D1?, Shaw, Gibson, Newnes, Goddard, Saad, Edwards, Hamling. Not sure wether I need a D5 like Goodes. Also, who should I have as my D1? Are Smith and Simpson worth the money?

    david · 24/03/2015 at 07:26

Personally, I think that’s suicidal. These rooks won’t be named and you will end up with a backline of zeroes. Pump some more cash back there. I’d even rather see all mid pricer which is ok this year in
    Backline.

jmy7 · 23/03/2015 at 19:27

also, are people using up the money they get from downgrading ablett?

    Marco_Polo94 · 24/03/2015 at 02:50

    yes

shezza · 23/03/2015 at 19:36

Is it just me or is anyone considering Stefan Martin in the ruck? I have a feeling Luenberger will go down. If so, would he be a tempting option?

    Derek · 23/03/2015 at 21:49

    To expensive

    Marco_Polo94 · 24/03/2015 at 02:51

Agreed, too expensive. will drop in price. and besides that, as long as luey IS in there with him they will steal points from each other.

Tom · 23/03/2015 at 19:36

Anybody interested in creating a cash league? Doesn't have to be big.

Mac · 23/03/2015 at 19:43

Thoughts?

Smith, Shaw, Gibson, Newnes, Goodes, Goddard, Saad, Edwards
Pendlebury, Fyfe, Selwood, JPK, Griffin, Cripps, Vandenberg, Heeney, Ellis-Yolmen, Steele, Krakouer
Mumford, Nic Nat, Cox
Gray, Martin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Hogan, Lambert, Daniel

Was thinking about trading Mumford to Goldy and Nic Nat to Maric. Feedback is much appreciated.

    eatemalive · 23/03/2015 at 19:50

Mate , I don't believe Goddard or Steele will play round 1

      shezza · 23/03/2015 at 20:04

Steele will play. Hoskin-elliott needs a shoulder reconstruction and Steele plays forward role. Absolute lock

    jmy7 · 23/03/2015 at 19:58

yeah i have got goldy and maric, and gotta say ive been sleeping so mush better

      Keg · 23/03/2015 at 20:40

I have goldy and big Wilbur. I had maric and was very happy but needed to free up a little bit of cash

Goldy and maric = Keeper and keeper

B-Mac · 23/03/2015 at 19:53

Quiche:

Tyson (M6) & Anderson (M8)

Or

Rich (M6) & Cripps (M8)?

    eatemalive · 23/03/2015 at 20:20

Rich n Cripps should get cash quicker to upgrade , Anderson – I can see him in the vest

      B-Mac · 23/03/2015 at 20:29

      The old green demon!

D Man · 23/03/2015 at 20:25

Thoughts on my team.
Def: Shaw Gibson Newnes Lumumba Goodes Dalgeish Saad Hamling
Mid: Pendles Fyfe Selwood Wines Griffen Newton Cripps Ellis-Yolman Heeney Vandenberg Miller
Ruck: Goldy NicNat Read
Fwd: gray Bartel Martin Salem Clark Hogan Daniel Lambert

Keg · 23/03/2015 at 20:39

I’ve just traded out wells, rich and swan for wines, jimmy and heeney

Means I have v’berg at m7 and one of my rookies (either heeney, Ellis-y, Steele or lambert at this stage) starting each week

Thoughts?

Ps- swan/ jimmy as forwards not in mids

    uda · 23/03/2015 at 22:12

think again about swan… greenwood ot for the first month

      Keg · 23/03/2015 at 22:38

Yeah I must admit I’m unsure of that one. If I keep him I will have 88k in the bank which may prove handy later

      Thanks for your thoughts

BundyBear · 23/03/2015 at 20:39

Anyone think Sidebottom is worth a spot on the team ?

    Jimi · 23/03/2015 at 22:28

    Absolutely, huge ceiling, great POD.

    jmy7 · 23/03/2015 at 22:51

yeah his crazy good, still want him, but then i can afford fyfe and selwood types so i changed to them….. for now

    PreviouslyOnLost · 23/03/2015 at 22:56

    Yes!
Huge P.O.D who will prob average around 110. If you think he can push the 115-120 mark, go for it!

Simon · 23/03/2015 at 20:48

Is a nicnat and McEvoy ruck combo a good idea or should I stick with Goldstein and McEvoy

    Derek · 23/03/2015 at 21:54

Big boy is not a good option. Not sure if he is #1 ruck at Hawks, at best he will share points and won’t score much over 90.

      Simon · 23/03/2015 at 23:17

Who would you pick as second ruck with 495,000 to spend

        dognino · 23/03/2015 at 23:21

Nic Nat, or try and get an extra 6k for Minson. Ceglars probably outrucking big boy at the moment.

          derek · 24/03/2015 at 10:22

if either Pyke or Hickey were a bit cheaper, say under $400k, I would really be tempted to pick one of them. Both are Lone Wolf rucks, Tom had his knee fixed up and is finally fit, and Pyke is the #1 ruck for one of the best teams in the AFL.

            dognino · 24/03/2015 at 21:04

I picked pyke last year thinking, hey he averaged 70 odd as a back up to mummy and now he's No1……….. still burnt

    Keg · 23/03/2015 at 22:41

Goldy every day of the week. Could well become the #1 ruckman for the year IMO

Westy · 23/03/2015 at 21:49

On a sad note, Geoff Tunbridge (ex-Melb 1950s premiership player) passed away today aged 82. Great footballer, excellent teacher.

Derek · 23/03/2015 at 22:05

People who are going for overall rank, instead of league wins, what difference is there in strategy?

Trade ass off? Guns and rookies. Ultra premise?

    Nick fucking jonas · 23/03/2015 at 23:15

Go for big scores not concisentcy

    Phil · 23/03/2015 at 23:24

Don't be afraid to throw a guy in with a massive ceiling but not so durable ie Mumford whereas going for league durability becomes more important as you want loads of trades left for the last 4 rounds.

      derek · 24/03/2015 at 08:52

so you're telling me to put Travis Cloke in my team…

Jimi · 23/03/2015 at 22:24

Need help community. Can't decide between Henderson or Shepherd.

    Phil · 23/03/2015 at 23:21

Henderson. He has better history and also scored better out of the two in NAB3 which better represents the real stuff

      Northerner · 24/03/2015 at 06:02

Shepherd took a massive knock last game that affected his score. That said, the Eagles have to get the ball in their back half and with their talls injury problem the only time he might see it is going over his head to a KPF mark from the opposition or when the umpire runs it back to the centre! Good luck with the decision

        Jimi · 24/03/2015 at 11:40

        Thanks boys.

Shepherd averaged 81.7 v Henderson's flat 60 during the NAB. I just think with the injuries WCE have he's got good job early security with the ability to put solid (yet unspectacular) scores.

However I'm a long time fan of Henderson and think he's capable of being around the top 10 defenders if fit. He just hasn't shown much yet this year (granted only NAB cup).

        Decisions decisions….

    General Soreness · 24/03/2015 at 12:01

Look beyond these two, but if forced to chose, Henderson is more a known quantity, both have good JS.

      Jimi · 24/03/2015 at 12:50

Crunched a bit more NAB data, downgraded Shepherd at D4 to Laird, allowed me to upgrade D5 from Ashby to Bugg. Both Averaged over well 80 at the NAB. Cheers General.

PS: my brother has pinched my Jack mag, plus I live overseas without decent access to live games. This has made my research very difficult, so community feedback is really appreciated.

        General Soreness · 24/03/2015 at 13:12

Mate, that is what the community is all about. Keep posting your queries and delving into the research in here.

Champ · 23/03/2015 at 22:27

Please help. Jaksch or brett goodes?

    derek · 24/03/2015 at 10:04

Brett Goodes has become flavour of the week, not sure why? He was delisted by Bulldogs at the end of the 2014 season!!! Put back on the rookie list, seriously I don't think the Dogs have very big plans for him.

      Jimi · 24/03/2015 at 12:05

Averaged over 100 during NAB cup and only costs $245k, that's probably why. Agree the dogs don't have big plans for him but everything can change with a long term injury to a defender…

BlueBallsFC · 23/03/2015 at 22:31

Abletts gone from my team

Now i'm toying the idea of not starting Pendels aswell.

Done nothing in the NAB,
With no Greenwood, Beams & Ball, a young re-building Collingwood team, and the fact Collingwood appear shit.
I just think he'll get mauled every week and his scores will suffer.

Thoughts??? Am I completely off the mark????

    Jimi · 23/03/2015 at 22:43

I'm going to give GAJ every chance to come up for round 1.

Pendles, well I try not to take too much notice of NAB form for premos, but yo make a good point he's lost a lot of players who can spread the load. Thing is he's always always smashed taggers. Tough call.

    Blueprime · 24/03/2015 at 03:00

Pendlebury and Swan just coasted through NAB. Nothing to prove. Both will comfortably be in top 10 mids and forwards respectively.

      David · 24/03/2015 at 14:53

Im not starting with either. Ablett had an incredible year last year. incredible.
There is no way on gods green earth is he going to keep his average if they are still putting him on ice for a shoulder that happeed over 6 months ago! For 700k+ thats a huge risk, surely his cost will drop early in the year when they take extra precautions. I love garry, may be his biggest fan, but if you have Gaz your causing exposure in another area. There are some incredible midfielders now who are a 100k cheaper! My midfield will have Fyfe, Beams, Parker, Danger, Wines, Wells and Cripps with Gray in the FWD lines.

    Dee · 24/03/2015 at 16:25

blaa da daa ba da…… SILENCE!!! Pendles kum my gym… he is a super elite midfielder! he in my team, he LOCK, he a bloody gun!! Whhhhooooaaaahhhhhhhhhhh…….. on the other hand, Swan is done and dusted! he look very slow, he look like a bloody pig, he not come my gym…. I fly kick him out my team! WEKUM….

Philthy · 23/03/2015 at 22:43

I reckon at 390k Will Langford can average 100+ and will generate good cash, anyone with me?

Teams that win score big and he's 100k cheaper than SMitch, I reckon he can nearly match him for points after his finals series giving him a massive shot in the arm, and he'll play all 22 without a vest

    medadsson · 24/03/2015 at 13:47

Good hard at it footballer but to me he seems to play the negating role formerly played by Lewis. I don't think he will ton up often if that is the case. I may be wrong re his role though?

Mark · 23/03/2015 at 22:52

Hey guys just wondering who to get

Cripps (211k) or newton (215k) or to spend a bit more and get rich

Help please 🙂

    Phil · 23/03/2015 at 23:18

    Cripps

jmy7 · 23/03/2015 at 22:52

who ever feels right in your heart

PreviouslyOnLost · 23/03/2015 at 22:55

Great Pod cast gents. Some quick fire comments:

1. Nic Nat is a a lock at R1. Got through unscathed. Will dominate come real time.
2. Gary Ablett is a lock. Dismiss him at your peril
3. 2-3 on field Defense rookies is the way to go.
4. Jock is a prophet with his DEF rookie predictions
5. Both Bont and T-mitch are better picks than swan given same price bracket.
6. JPK will start first half of the year with a top 5 ave.
7. Jesse Hogan will be this year's Gary Rohan… avoid
8. The popular FWD rookies will attract the vests (Lambs, steele, krak, daniel)
9. Rockliff, Beams, Deledio, Martin, Jacobs… who do you target as the big upgrade after the first round of byes?
10. Payanmanese children's story book collection, which will be release this Christmas, is set to become the fastest selling book of all time.

Bring on the 2015 season

    dognino · 23/03/2015 at 23:18

What have you seen in JPK ? I've had him in M3-4 most pre season, but starting to think Parker is actually going to out score him this year.

    Northerner · 24/03/2015 at 05:56

The WC Lamb won't get the vest. Agree with others. Still see value in Hogan on the pine as a slow burner with excellent job security and gives you a certain emergency cover if your other bench rookie gets dropped. Would chop if a cash cow emerged early though

    David · 24/03/2015 at 14:44

I disagree with your first 5 points so hard. Defensive rookies will be so unreliable this year, i think midpricers are a must in the backline.

      Dee · 24/03/2015 at 15:52

I've got 2 Guns, 2 MP and 2 Rookies in my back 6….

footysback · 23/03/2015 at 23:07

hey community, i'm wanting to vs some people that use this site, anyone willing to have me please leave your league code so i can really test my abilities as a fantasy lad!!

    footysback · 23/03/2015 at 23:18

my code is 447601, if it matters??

      derek · 24/03/2015 at 08:57

if you can get into some games that have this community in it you will find yourself with the cream of supercoach. I was in a league last year that finished 21st overall. I finished about 8,000 overall but didn't even make the semi-finals of the league.

Dan · 23/03/2015 at 23:12

Bartel, Swan or Zorko? Pick 2

    chops · 23/03/2015 at 23:28

Bartel Swan for sure…….upgrade to Zorko later…

      Marco_Polo94 · 24/03/2015 at 02:54

Safe option is definitely Bartel Swan. Though Zorko could go nuts this season with the silk running around brisbane now. big PoD

      Blueprime · 24/03/2015 at 03:04

      Agree.

    Simon · 24/03/2015 at 10:11

Bartel and Zorko due to the inclusion of beams, Christensen, Robinson and having rich back as well is a lot of players to cover and Zorko could explode plus think the lions will be a better side than the pies this season

Mac · 24/03/2015 at 07:33

With Crouch going down, does that mean Brodie Smith will have more chance to play in the midfield?

    Sarah · 24/03/2015 at 10:47

Smith is a different type of player to B Crouch, outside mid v contested mid. Crows will likely select Lyons, Grigg or M Crouch to cover B Crouch.

Rick Grimes · 24/03/2015 at 08:56

Any love for Ricky Henderson?

    Jimi · 24/03/2015 at 11:42

Yes, but can't choose between him and Shepherd ATM.

    General Soreness · 24/03/2015 at 12:00

There are better options at the price or less.

derek · 24/03/2015 at 09:02

I'm thinking that with Saad off the rookie list, if he is named on the ground for round 1, he may well be the most selected player in all of Supercoach this year.

    DavidDee · 24/03/2015 at 14:41

    agreed

    Dee · 24/03/2015 at 15:55

    102k… cheap as chips mate!

    Sarah · 24/03/2015 at 10:45

Just rested as far as I know.

derek · 24/03/2015 at 09:08

is having Ablett, Pendlebury, Fyfe & JPK all from round 12 bye too much to have?

    Jimi · 24/03/2015 at 11:43

Depends on your structure, opponent and overall plan for the bye rounds, but it's not going to make life easy.

    General Soreness · 24/03/2015 at 11:53

No if you can still get 18 on the park, but it does leave you exposed if premo's are missing.

    PDP · 24/03/2015 at 14:21

Yes. Eradicate one. Plenty of options. Best = Rocky instead of Ablett

    Dee · 24/03/2015 at 15:57

Rocky instead of Ablett? Loll…. I fly kick you! Wekum….

shezza · 24/03/2015 at 09:18

I have a dilemma, do i choose:

Pendlebury Nic Nat (goldstein is 2nd ruck)
Or
Beams Jacobs (goldstein is 2nd ruck)

    Simon · 24/03/2015 at 10:09

    1

    Sarah · 24/03/2015 at 10:45

    2

    Benjo · 24/03/2015 at 10:59

    Beams + Jacobs

      shezza · 24/03/2015 at 11:24

I have option 2 atm. I think Pendles will drop with no Beams or Ball playing and now no Greenwood.

Spifflicator · 24/03/2015 at 09:47

I have created a league for fellow Jockstera – Y Fronts 814737. All welcome!

David · 24/03/2015 at 10:04

Adams big pod in fwd line now Levi is gone. He’s going to be really relied on a lot more now in the midfield.

DigDug · 24/03/2015 at 10:07

Ollie Wines or Ryan Griffen??

I'm aware of the fixture for both players and I don't really think it will affect the scores toooo much?

Interested in the communities thoughts.

    Josh · 24/03/2015 at 10:33

    Griffen is a bargin

      David · 24/03/2015 at 14:40

Wines is only like 7k more, upcoming gun likely to play 22 games, fit as a fiddle in a winning team.

I would go Wines every day of the week, and im surprised he is going under radar. He is in my team.

    Holty · 24/03/2015 at 16:44

Wines all the way. He will probably average 110+ this year and for many years to come. Griffin has only done that once.

Simon · 24/03/2015 at 10:08

Which combo….
B.goodes and Zac smith or
Sheppard and bellchambers

    Jay · 24/03/2015 at 14:30

    I’d go shep and bell

Mark · 24/03/2015 at 13:35

B lennon or J hogan ? Hmmm

    Phil · 24/03/2015 at 15:28

I pick the cheaper guy. People are going off Hogan because he didn't score well but Lennon hardly set the world on fire either. Hogan has better security and won't be vested.

YouBloodyRippa · 24/03/2015 at 14:00

A left field idea (ok or crazy, I'm not sure which) to have some GAJ insurance…… Thinking about finding a spot in my mids for Prestia alongside gaz. He kept performing with gaz out last year, there is no denying the suns have a good early draw. I can't see him dropping in value early, and I'm happy to call him a keeper. Also IF I choose to leave gaz out, Prestia should be the highest suns scorer and might be a stepping stone to gaz later. Thoughts anyone?

    General Soreness · 24/03/2015 at 14:38

Mate, keep the mind ticking over SC is a game that makes you think and sometimes overthink. I find it easy to bring it back to basics, Will Prestia be a top 15 midfielder at years end, if you believe the answer is yes pick him, as he would be value at his current price if he achieves top 15. There will not be such a thing as GAJ insurance you will either start with or without him, if you start with him the insurance is your rooks if he doesnt play not Prestia.

    David · 24/03/2015 at 15:07

but Prestia would cop the tag if Gaz is out?

Jay · 24/03/2015 at 14:11

.Dilemmas in my team community. Got $430,000 in the kitty after the gas uncertainty, any tips?

Def: k.simpson h.shaw j.newnes h.lumumba s.higgins ibbo (hamling, saad

Mid: pendles, boak, a. Swallow, j.steven, d.wells, heeney boekhorst krak (vandenberg ellisyo Steele )

Ruck: maric nicnat (cox)

Fwd: d.martin d.swan e.betts t. Bellchambers, Salem Clark (laver de lambert)

    Jay · 24/03/2015 at 14:12

Thoughts on a laverde up to Griffey in the mid?

    Any general comments welcome.

      Jay · 24/03/2015 at 14:29

Also Bring Back Majak 584477 – new league, jock reynolders only 😉

    JoeWoolcock · 24/03/2015 at 14:44

Mids need some beefing up with a bit of that free cash mate, I'd only take one of steven/wells as a stepping stone back up to Gary if you're leaving him out. Eddie was great in NAB but will be very inconsistent come the season proper. Backs look solid but again I'd leave out either Higgins or Lumumba – have a feeling at least one will burn.

    David · 24/03/2015 at 15:11

Mids is a bit weak, and defence a bit too strong. Pretty risky going both the prince and higgins pick one and drop one down to a rook. Use that cash to get a premo or two. I reckon you also need to get swan to D3. But hey who knows, value everywhere!

    Stickman · 24/03/2015 at 15:36

For that structure I think you have picked the best players, but think you should definitely bring in Griffen. Like the POD players in Betts and Boak. Not sold on Lumumba and HIggins but not many other defenders putting their hand up between 400-450k

    Jay · 24/03/2015 at 15:43

Cheers for the tips. I mean at the end of the day it will depend on round 1 rookies a lot, but will make some changes regarding the Higgins/lumumba, thinking I’ll stick with Higgins and hope for more defense rookies to start round 1.

I see your point with keeping one of Steven/wells, but I can see Steven staying long term in my team if he can get back to 2013 standard, at worst case I have two stepping stones to elite mids which in an 11 person mid could be worth it. Gaj and rockliff for example

Stickman · 24/03/2015 at 15:32

Wondering everybody's thoughts on how many POD players is too many. Running with 3 at the moment. Cheers

    Derek · 24/03/2015 at 18:27

Will your POD’s be top 8 by year end

anthony · 24/03/2015 at 16:21

Need some help analyzing the following choices:'

Josh P. Kennedy vs Luke Parker – leaning towards Parker to step it up another notch

Maric or Minson – Maric was my first choice but Minson has entered my calculations

Gray vs Bartel – Gray has a tough early draw but his position in the team is promising whereas Bartel maybe moved around as needed during a game

    Kev · 24/03/2015 at 17:23

    1) I feel both are priced at their ceilings, anthony. I've got Parker at the moment, only because I've got a bit of a man crush on him
    2) Maric. Hugely important to the tiges. Gets around the ground well. Passionate bloke.
    3) Gray. For the reasons you've stated. I can see Jimmy going the Gia route as his career winds down. He is Geelong's Mr Fix it

    Derek · 24/03/2015 at 18:25

JPK can get a tag, but he is a beast. He is expensive but won’t miss many games.
I’d go maric purely on richmonds easy draw.
Gray will play 100% midfield this year, not sure about Bartel

    Anthony · 25/03/2015 at 15:58

    Thanks for the replies guys

I have to agree with both your comments and after a bit more research.

I feel that Parker has the potential and prefer watching him play than Kennedy. At worst Parker will still be a top 20 midfielder so I should really not lose out that much.

I think I do have to stick to my first choice and really think with the Tigers on the way up and Maric hopefully over his injury trouble he should score well. Ironically I have settled on Mumford as a potential smokey (albeit significantly higher injury risk and likely to miss games)

Absolutely love watching Bartel and am convinced Bartel will play significantly more midfield time but happy to miss out on him to bank on Gray.

Feel like I am taking a lot more risks with my player choices this year but confident that they will pay off or at worst not cripple me

Looks okay, Jimmy. i fear you've been sucked in by Lumumba's nab cup scores, he showed at pies he will be up and down, week in week out type of player. There's also some backline rookie choices who have appeared at the 11th hour, so I reckon you could do better than N. Brown and White (??)

Best of luck on the Bellyache selection. Make or break

Rick · 24/03/2015 at 16:36

Heeny or Anderson??

    Kev · 24/03/2015 at 17:16

Heeney, but only just. I don't think the js for either is spectacular, and both are vest risks.
