Thoughts on Claye beams ? And Bewick

    r2d2 · 17/03/2015 at 23:17

    And danger

      Bog rat · 18/03/2015 at 00:19

I currently have Bewick, think he played off half back towards the end of last season & went ok so with Patfull at the Giants & Pearce Hanley injured for a few weeks he could be the main man for run & carry out of defence for the lions this season & hopefully he scores ok, I think he's scored a 90 & 100 in the last 2 nab games if you can take anything out of them

        r2d2 · 18/03/2015 at 00:50

He has gone ok in both matches so far , if he goes well again this Week , think I may take the chance , cheers and good luck to your side

      General Soreness · 18/03/2015 at 11:12

would be good in any team

      LEKD0G · 18/03/2015 at 13:09

POD, massive ceiling. Will still be a good selection this year for those who can fit him in.

    General Soreness · 18/03/2015 at 11:12

The wrong beams, there has only been one good Bewick and he is retired. Both picks are highly speculative avoid both.

    LEKD0G · 18/03/2015 at 13:08

Claye Beams is a bit of an injury risk but my Brisbane people tell me he could hit an average of 80 this year, solid fwd option i'd say. Bewick might be used as a bit of a negating role I fear, if NAB 3 he runs free he's a nice cheap DEF option.

curt · 17/03/2015 at 23:19

Good stuff Lekdog!

    LEKD0G · 18/03/2015 at 13:10

    Thanks mate

markstar9 · 17/03/2015 at 23:23

good work mate!

    LEKD0G · 18/03/2015 at 13:10

    Thanks Mark

    General Soreness · 18/03/2015 at 11:13

    Says MUM!

    LEKD0G · 18/03/2015 at 13:10

😉 thought someone would pick that up

throttlefinger · 17/03/2015 at 23:34

No love for Beamsy? C'mon!

Excellent vid, Lek. Part of me would really like to see the unedited "shitte talking" 45 minute version.

Can't wait for Pies through Freo.

    LEKD0G · 18/03/2015 at 13:11

You know i love Beamsy. My Brisbane man reckons tag will go to Rich so Beams is back in the picture.

Danny · 18/03/2015 at 00:00

Thanks guys,

    jack · 18/03/2015 at 00:07

Smith won't play rd 1 so u need another ruckman is suggest doungrading a premo fwd into a premo ruck and Biggs is injured in your mid

    sam siddall · 18/03/2015 at 01:01

Half ur rook defs wont olay rd1

    @Seekersupacoach · 18/03/2015 at 10:02

MacMillan has been in and out of my side. Think he's probably best 22 when fit but his price $270k might be a little steep. There are some Nth backline injury concerns too, interesting to see the club is spruiking R Tarrant for HB line. Anyway, MacMillan is currently in my team with an eye to NAB Challange 3

      @Seekersupacoach · 18/03/2015 at 10:07

I'm also looking at Jaksch and Bewick with MacMillan for my D5

    Scrofl · 18/03/2015 at 10:17

You've stacked the forward line, which is advised against this year, given the ton of forward rookies that will get games.
Having Archie Smith as your second ruckman, not sure what you're going for there.

      BundyBear · 19/03/2015 at 02:30

Hmmm . Whats this advised against ? Thats the beauty of individuals. everyone has their own team. Listen to peoples ideas but make your own mind up

    General Soreness · 18/03/2015 at 10:44

Danny – good first crack mate but still needs some work. Keep reading and obtaining all the SC wisdoms. Positives – Mids M1-M5, Def D1-D4, R1 and F1-F6 all solid selections. Biggs is injured consider changing to Cripps or Newton at similar price of dg to rookie. McKenzie unlikey to play round 1 and backline eligible therefore move him back if he plays. A. Smith (who is this and why is he there), Drop one of either Gray, Buddy or Dusty and upgrade him to a real ruckman. Then move either Krakouer or Lambert forward and bring in another mid rook.

    Rawkus11 · 18/03/2015 at 14:25

Do you mean Z Smith at R2???

Leighroy · 18/03/2015 at 00:08

Great work lek, I’m also looking at jed but not sure his a keeper. I’m 50-50 on him. I’m with throttle I would love to watch the 45 min version

    LEKD0G · 18/03/2015 at 13:12

Haha maybe I'll do an uncut version

DramaLlama · 18/03/2015 at 09:34

There appears to be a catapillar asleep on your upper lip.

    LEKD0G · 18/03/2015 at 13:12

    Thanks for the warning mate

Jezza · 18/03/2015 at 10:12

G'day community, wanted some feedback on my team to date. The rumors that Ablett won't play round one scare me a little and I haven't got him in as a result, but can get him back in if necessary.

DEF: Smith, Shaw, Hurn, Newnes, Edwards, Goddard (McKenzie, Saad)

MID: Pendles, Selwood, Kennedy, Priddis, Lewis, Griffin, Newton, Ellis-Yolmen (Heeney, Boekhorst, Steele)

RUCK: Maric, Bellchambers (Cox)

FWD: Bartel, Goddard, Swan, Salem, Clark, Hogan (Daniel, Lambert)

Got $46,700 left over, any feedback appriciated!

    General Soreness · 18/03/2015 at 11:11

Jezza – nice work there and yes GAJ throwing all into chaos. Team looks solid with one exception TBC – ASADA might take care of his selection for you so better to prepare now, consider Goddard down to rook Bellend up to someone good.

      Jezza · 18/03/2015 at 11:35

Cheers, just made some adjustments which allow me to fit Minson in as second ruck alongside Maric. Any suggestions on who to downgrade Goddard to? I thought of Walters from Freo but concerned about fitness/consistency.

        seaford scouse · 19/03/2015 at 22:03

        Big Mac from GWS

derek · 18/03/2015 at 10:17

I'm not sure how this happened, but there have been three risky picks crept into my team over the past week, not sure how they got there, I must have been sleepcoaching!!!!

Tom Hickey (RUC), Travis Cloke (FWD), Chris Yarren (DEF) have all magically appeared in my team as significant POD's.

the rest of my team are the usual suspects. What do people think about these selections?

    mick · 18/03/2015 at 10:29

yarram the best others no way and yarram injury prone so no 4 all

    General Soreness · 18/03/2015 at 10:36

Sleepcoaching ROFL!! Check Hickey;s HOA stats, you will then be a NO. Cloke – bruyn manouvere 2015? Ballsy but not without merit. Yarran is a Spud Gun! One week a spud next week a gun will remain at his current average = No.

      Derek · 18/03/2015 at 13:31

Hickey was a mid price option because his chances to be a lone wolf. Plus he said recently that he has played injured last three years but had knee operation last year and it is 100%. He has bulked up to 100kg. I could see value there.

        derek · 18/03/2015 at 13:56

I have changed Hickey to Nic nat (but if Nic is not fit I'm going to think about Tom again). Yarren has become the Gift (lummmummmbbba), and at the moment big Travis is still there….Bruyn manouvere!!!!

      derek · 18/03/2015 at 13:57

year, I sleepcoach a bit…late at night with the ipad in bed, I wake up in the morning and look at my team and think…what was I thinking…

mick · 18/03/2015 at 10:31

yarram to m johnson cloke to swan/martin hickey to z smith

@TylerCA16 · 18/03/2015 at 11:17

Ibbotson OR Langdon

    I N Pieman · 18/03/2015 at 12:57

Langdon. There's too much uncertainty over Freo roles at the best of times. Throw in the Crowley disaster & it's considerably worse. Ross is a prick.

      seaford scouse · 19/03/2015 at 22:07

agreed! Not a single freo player in my start, Fyfe will be needed at some point but other than that im resisting the urge on walters, neale, ibbo, pearce etc…mostly due to Ross as other more predictable role options available.

I N Pieman · 18/03/2015 at 12:44

For those of you starting with Chris Yarran I suggest obtaining a nice pretty photo of him. Then see how long it takes to make it's way onto your dart board.

    seaford scouse · 19/03/2015 at 22:09

LMFAO! He's been on mine for 2 years now INP, what was I thinking!!!

Jack · 18/03/2015 at 13:51

Hey Guys, Thoughts On My Team, Feedback Would Be Great;
Backs:Shaw, Taylor, Newnes, Lumumba, Edwards, Goddard, – Saad, Rainbow
Mids: Fyfe, Selwood, Beams, Parker, Griffen, Hartung, Cockatoo, Boekhorst, – Heeney, Vandenberg, Ellis-Yolemen
Fwds: Gray, Martin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Hogan, – Lamb, Lambert
Rucks: Naitanui, Sandilands – Cox
340,800 K Left Over
Rookies are not finalized yet!

    Rawkus11 · 18/03/2015 at 14:29

Hartung and Taylor good picks! I like this team

      Dean · 19/03/2015 at 21:05

Having extra cash sitting in the bank doing nothing is just CRAZY I believe especially so this season.

You have Hartung & Cockatoo in your side when you could swap Hartung with someone like ZORKO, BENNELL, O'MEARA or SHEILS or any other player you like if you don't like the players I mentioned.

I personally would get rid of Hartung and put in ZORKO, I have him in my side.

Apart from that your team looks solid. Good luck mate.

Marco_Polo94 · 18/03/2015 at 14:51

i can't stop looking at yarran. it's him or gibson for D2. could be a breakout year? seems on the up and has looked good both NAB games.

    Marco_Polo94 · 18/03/2015 at 14:59

jeez im in a strange mood today. I'm looking at blokes any super coacher in his right mind wouldn't select….. Lekdog mentioned him as a joke, and i too laughed at cameron wood. but if he is the number 1 ruck…. 390k…. averaged 88 in 2012 before his injury…. if i select him is this pure craiziness, or pure genius!?

      General Soreness · 18/03/2015 at 16:21

If he averages 88 what price does he achieve? is he then a stepping stone? keeper? Personally if your going to take risks do it on a known 100+ player like Luey, for a small amount of money more you can have Dog Dog. It is Madness thinking C Wood.

    General Soreness · 18/03/2015 at 16:20

7th season breakout? Unlikely Yarran is a a 70-80 average player. Or in Gibsons case a 31 year old, 11th season breakout. Definitely not.

      Marco_Polo94 · 18/03/2015 at 16:28

cheers general. i think I've lost the plot with all this gary nonsense. needed to be steered back to safety

      seaford scouse · 19/03/2015 at 22:14

Not tempted by Gibsons potential role change with Frawls back there and a fit Lake General? Worked very well in nab2, if its the same again nab3 with similar outcome Gibbos a lock for me, should be top 10 defender regardless so v.limited risk as well and of course a champion team.

TJM · 18/03/2015 at 15:37

Anyone for Lumumba?

    General Soreness · 18/03/2015 at 16:23

The Gift, is firmly at the end of my ten foot pole, will not touch!

Danger · 18/03/2015 at 16:36

My team feedback would be great !

Backs- Burgyone,Shaw, newnes, adcock/yarren, goddard, edwardes (vojo rainbow, saad)

Mids- pendlebury, fyfe, selwood, kennedy, dangerfield, newton, heeney, vandenberg ( steele, lambert, krakour)

Rucks- naitanui, luey (cox)

Forward- gray, franklin, martin, swan, salem, clark (hogan, daniel)

Please let me know what yous think 🙂

    Marco_Polo94 · 18/03/2015 at 16:47

    hey danger,

Would not be touching luey, looks to be struggling with martin in the same side. not a fan of KPF either so i would much rather a bartel or zorko over franklin. Gray will score points no doubt, however port have a tough early run and he has a good chance of dropping in price. for a team without ablett i'd much rather go to m6 or m7, newton has good job security i think however heeney and vandenberg are high vest candidates if selected.

      Danger · 18/03/2015 at 16:59

Thanks heaps ! Who would you recomend as a downgrade option for one of my premium forwards ?

        Marco_Polo94 · 18/03/2015 at 17:23

depends whether you go to F3 or F4. I've gone to F3 so my F4 is a rookie. If you're after a mid pricer look at your tom mitchells, bontempellis, bellchambers etc.

      Danger · 18/03/2015 at 17:39

What do you think my rucks are now paddy ryder and naitanui and i now have rich at m6 and got a rookie for franklin and put hogan on my ground

        Marco_Polo94 · 18/03/2015 at 22:12

keep an eye on ryder. he has some tough early fixtures, and could possibly face ASADA punishment i think. i like Newton over Rich but i like him as an M7. I'd bring in a rookie for your F4 coz i think there is a plethora of good rookies available down there. Tom Lamb, Lambert, Krakouer take your pick theres a bunch. Then with the cash generated from that i'd upgrade a midfield rookie for a premium player.

    General Soreness · 18/03/2015 at 16:47

Mids fine, rucks very risky, forwards fine but heavy given rooks available, Adcock over Yarran. I would trade down a premo fwd and strengthen ruck.

Brillsy21 · 18/03/2015 at 16:38

Thoughts on my team? Salary cap $6,200
DEF: H. Shaw, M. Hibberd, J. Newnes, S. Hurn, B. Goodes, S. Edwards (H. Goddard, A. Saad)
MID: S. Pendelbury, N. Fyfe, J. Selwood, JPK, R. Griffen, A. Swallow, N. Cockatoo, I. Heeney (B. Boekhorst, A. Vandenberg, J. Steele)
RUCK: N. Naitanui, M. Leunburger (T. Read) (Going for the Bruyn Manoeuvre or whatever haha)
FWD: D. Martin, B. Goddard, D. Swan, C. Salem, M. Clark, J. Hogan (K. Lambert, C. Daniel)
THANKS. Only will keep goodes if named in Round 1 side.

    General Soreness · 18/03/2015 at 16:49

Looking much better Brillsy, risky rucks I would consider down grading a premo to enable you to upgrade ruck. Other lines are fine.

    Marco_Polo94 · 18/03/2015 at 16:50

    hey Brillsy,

Be weary of hibberd, hurn a nice POD, midfield looks very solid, dislike luey, forward line looks good too. If it was my team i would downgrade hibberd to kolodashnij or someone of that price, and upgrade luey to a proven premium.

Brillsy21 · 18/03/2015 at 17:02

who would be a good pick in the ruck? Martin, sauce, mumford?

    Marco_Polo94 · 18/03/2015 at 17:20

      FootyFanatic · 18/03/2015 at 17:22

      I Second Mumford

        Brillsy21 · 18/03/2015 at 17:23

Apparently his average is gonna go down heaps due to the new scoring

          Marco_Polo94 · 18/03/2015 at 17:27

good chance most rucks will go down in average due to that, wouldn't think too much about it. Mumford is a super premium and if cash isn't a problem he is the one to pick. has some nice early fixtures too and a massive ceiling.

            Brillsy21 · 18/03/2015 at 18:12

            okay thanks mate

Joey · 18/03/2015 at 17:10

DEF: Shaun Burgoyne, Dane Rampe, Jack Newnes, Steven May, Shaun Edwards, Hugh Goddard (Saad, Whitecross)

MID: Ablett, Sidebottom, Luke Parker, Ryan Griffen, Brad Crouch, Lachie Neale, Cockatoo, Heeney (Vandenberg, Freeman, Lambert)

RUC: Goldstien, Naitanui (Read)

FWD: Gray, Dustin Martin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Hogan (Caleb Daniel, Laverde)

$108,700 left

How's this?

    seaford scouse · 19/03/2015 at 22:23

v.solid looking Joey, not sure I have the same belied in neale asmhe is subject to ross the boss' whims also unsure of cockatoo's js perhaps change him for newton but these are just preferences really, nice structure and overall a good balance. all the best mate!

      Joey · 20/03/2015 at 11:59

Cheers seaford scouse! What do you think of my Midfield? Parker and Crouch good POD?
I also downgraded whitecross and salem for cheaper rookies allowing me to add in Tom Langdon to my defence!

        Joey · 20/03/2015 at 11:59

Also, rookies are subject to change pending round 1. Newton may get into my side if Cockatoo isn't named

        seaford scouse · 21/03/2015 at 00:03

Parker the bigger POD, quite a few likely to go with Crouch, but also Swallow and Wines available at the same, most going with Swallow myself included but prefer Crouch over Wines and I'd love to go Crouch as well but i'm trying to heed my mistakes of last year and listen to John Bruyn so not taking all my risks in round 1, a great pick though. __Parker is more interesting, can he go the next level after such a breakout last year? Possibly but will take some effort. imguess the question you need to ask yourself is what role is he playing in my team, a keeper, stepping stone? As long as your comfortable with his role then happy days (hopefully). TBH I think Sidebottom is likely to be a big POD also and yeah youe rookies will work themselves put once rd1 named, saying tnat i'd look at alternatives to Goddard in he backline as I don't think he'll get a gig, Edwards too but he's probably more assured as the Bombers getting the news a few days before the start of the season does not bode well in my book (look at last seasons late decision re:finals)

          Joey · 23/03/2015 at 10:51

DEF: Josh Gibson, Jack Newnes, Heritier Lumumba, Steven May, Kolajashni, A-Oxley (Saad, Hamling)

MID: Ablett, Fyfe, Sidebottom, Luke Parker, Ryan Griffen, Daniel Rich, Cripps, Heeney (Vandenberg, Ellis Yolmen, Lambert)

          RUC: Goldstien, Naitanui (Read)

FWD: Dustin Martin, Bennel, Swan, Clark, Hogan, Laverde (Caleb Daniel, Steele)

Happy with Parker as a keeper. Also wanted in Josh Gibson as I think with Frawley there he'll be able to roam a bit and go for some intercept marks. Wanted to downgrade Lachie Neale and add Nat Fyfe (esspecially with Crouch looking like his foot is sore).

I went Harley Bennell as he just dominated against the Lions and I think he can continue on throughout the year. I will upgrade to Robbie Gray when his price drops.

Morse · 18/03/2015 at 18:10

Similar to Priddis, no one seems to be looking at hodge in defence????

The guy is a freak yet no one seems to want to go near him?

Your thoughts community would be appreciated

    Injury and resting risk.

Captain Awesome · 18/03/2015 at 18:34

Another good show Lek. I’ve read all the hype about gaz and went and looked at my team to see what I could do without him. I too must have been sleep coaching cause my team had a few different to what I remember it (beers don’t seem to help the memory the next morning though). But for some reason it let me in my drunken state to go 387,000 bucks over the salary cap and now I’m 387k in the negative. Has this happened to others and is it a good or a bad thing. Great site by the way jock and community!

    LEKD0G · 19/03/2015 at 22:39

This is insane, might wanna fix it up so you don't get locked out at season start

I know people are jumping off Gary, but at this point in time, he will stay in my team until I hear more information. Thoughts on my team?

DEF: Smith, Shaw, Gibson, Newnes, Jaksch, Edwards, Goddard, Saad
MID: Ablett, Pendles, Selwood, Priddis, Griffin, Newton, Boekhorst, Laverde, Ellis-Yolmen, Steele, Kraouer
RUC: Mumford, Nic Nat, Read
FWD: Gray, Martin, Swan, Clark, Hogan, Lambert, Daniel, Lonie

I feel Jaksch is weak, but cannot afford anyone better. Any suggestions?

    Phil · 18/03/2015 at 20:08

I'm not a fan of Edwards, not sure why he is in so many teams. If Essendon players are free to play Round 1, he won't play. If their suspended he will play but I reckon Dalgleish is a better pick

      LEKD0G · 19/03/2015 at 22:40

      Edwards won't play

jmy7 · 18/03/2015 at 21:23

would like to know if people would go jaench or hurn, or suggest someone esle for d2?!
great listen lekdog!!

Bonts · 19/03/2015 at 09:22

Hi who do yous think is the best mid price backman under 415 thousand ?? Thinking rampe but please let me know thankyou !

    Blueprime · 19/03/2015 at 10:47

Nato · 19/03/2015 at 14:04

Thanks LEKDOG, great work mate.

Interesting point about Adcock. I had Harry O in my team at D5 and they are priced exactly the same.
Adcock has been pretty consistent over the past few years, except last year (around 90 odd).
Harry has generally averaged in the 70's up into the 80's, but not quite as high.

What im not sure about is whether Harry's move to Melb will allow him to run around half back and get more cheap kicks

What are people's thoughts about the two?
