Jock’s Midpriced Cheat Sheet v2

Published by Jock on

Jock Reynolds Supercoach GodPlenty of midpriced activity over the weekend – especially down back.

Especially down back. As I mentioned in last night’s massive podcast – I’m getting very bloody worried about the number of midpriced selections I’m seeing in a lot of teams so don’t get carried away with these cheaper pricks.
I know it’s hard this year back there – but please select very carefully my friends.

Jock’s 2015 Midpriced Cheat Sheet v2

Enjoy folks! Very keen to read your thoughts below.

@TylerCA16 · 10/03/2015 at 21:53

How many DEF rookies are on the field in all of your teams?

    Jimi · 10/03/2015 at 22:03

1, such a tough line this year.

    pauly walnuts · 10/03/2015 at 22:08

2 ATM, but a lot can happen over the next few weeks

      Tom · 10/03/2015 at 22:23

1 rookie with clancee Pearce at d5

        seaford scouse · 10/03/2015 at 22:36

Same atm, Saad the only convincing option for me so far from NAB, very dire back here this year and coupled with all the other factors likely to be the defining line for the year. Makes it interesting though.

    Derek · 10/03/2015 at 22:35

Defence will all change if Whitcross gets selected round 1.

    @SeanySamp · 10/03/2015 at 23:25

    1 plus Pearce

      carlashirley90 · 10/03/2015 at 23:48

      2 plus Pearce

    t_mitch · 11/03/2015 at 02:13

2, pearce and macmillan, 1 rookie, 3 set and forget on the field for me, a common structure amongst the community i think

      vinnymac · 11/03/2015 at 12:39

Macmillan is an interesting choice! Best 22? What do you think he will average this year?

        t_mitch · 11/03/2015 at 13:21

macmillan was named in norths leadership group this year hence my desicion to put him in, think he will avg around the 80 mark before being upgraded down the track

    OldOcker · 11/03/2015 at 02:16

Three at the moment with no pearce or Newnes.

      derek · 11/03/2015 at 11:02

      No newness???

        General Soreness · 11/03/2015 at 14:00

Maybe he is working on the theory that No Newnes is good Newnes?

    Wozzapop1700 · 25/03/2015 at 11:33

    hey tyler

pauly walnuts · 10/03/2015 at 22:00

Excellent write up Jock, loved the Thomas comment, but on a serious note Lycett is becoming a major factor as my info from the West is that NIc Nat is struggling big time.

    Tom · 10/03/2015 at 22:22

Not good news for my team at all. Can I ask where you have heard this?

    The Ranger · 10/03/2015 at 22:36

Jeez I hope you're wrong mate.
It's gonna mess with a lot of people's teams if you're right, mine included!

      carlashirley90 · 10/03/2015 at 23:49

      Minson or Maric then?

        cow roll · 11/03/2015 at 12:25

        Maric for sure

    cow roll · 11/03/2015 at 14:07

Lycett makes much better decisions than Nic and is more consistent, but he's not a player who would throw himself into contests. He won't score very high or low.

Jimi · 10/03/2015 at 22:03

1, such tough line this year.

Timmy · 10/03/2015 at 22:48

Dear Jock,
Love your work mVIII.
Cheers, Timmy.

carlashirley90 · 10/03/2015 at 23:42

So Franklin averages what 5-6 goals against Essendon right?
So what happens if Essendon have a 2nd rate team round 1?

Franklin 19 kicks 6 handballs 11 marks 4 tackles 12 goals 4 behinds?
250 super coach points?

    OldOcker · 11/03/2015 at 00:58

Are you drinking that Vodka again?
Do not over complicate things that are simple.
Do not touch alcohol whilst doing Super Coach team.
NAB Cup is only for looking at rookies.
Political decission will allow Essendon to play round one.

      OldOcker · 11/03/2015 at 00:59

PS: Your team is looking pretty good.

        Damo · 11/03/2015 at 01:03

Stop flirting with Carla OldOcker she's bloody mine!

          OldOcker · 11/03/2015 at 01:19

I was not flirting. Just going by the photo she does not appear to have a walking stick.
I am old and wise. I have learned my lessons in life.
Her team looks pretty good, I was not referring to her looks.
If she would rather a young inexperienced bloke then good luck to you.

vinnymac · 10/03/2015 at 23:42

Hey everyone! What are your thoughts on Brett Goodes, will he get consistent games this season? 13 games in 2013 averaging 91.2 and at $245,200 he would be an absolute bargain if playing!

    carlashirley90 · 10/03/2015 at 23:47

IF and don't know if he has been elevated off rookie list but yes would be in my team 100% if he does.

    General Soreness · 11/03/2015 at 08:49

Rookie listed, purely as a stop gap measure, will be surprised if he plays.

    vinnymac · 11/03/2015 at 12:46

Thanks guys! My structure in defense is to go 3 premiums and 3 players around $200,000-$350,000.

OldOcker · 11/03/2015 at 01:36

Just like Jock said previously that rookies in the back-line will appear during the season.
Dimma said at the Richmond Family Day that if you want a pick for Super-Coach his words were "I would pick Kamdyn Mcintosh"
Defender $123,900.

He will possibly be in next Richmond NAB Cup game. Keep an eye on him. If he does not play round one he could be a good pickup later in the season. (No mention from Crouching one yet)

Crouching must be too busy training his greyhounds and playing possum.

t_mitch · 11/03/2015 at 02:31

great write up jock, i think your bang on with evey player there except 1, i wont be putting any trust into tom mitchell at 400k, i just cant do it and will go a rookie instead as we are blessed with fwd rookies this year so ill be taking advantage of that and strictly guns and rooks in my fwd line

Jayden · 11/03/2015 at 03:17

Nice article jock

Anyone got any news with how Ablett is going?

And if nicnat goes down would make things easy and just go down to lycett

I’m very unsure about my backline

Atm my backline is

Simpson, Smith, Hibberd, Newnes, Pearce and 3 rooks but I’m thinking of downgrading hibberd to Langdon or Shepard and upgrading Steven( love the look of steven but just think it’s gonna be a tough year for him with the tag coming a lot

Cheers jock

    vinnymac · 11/03/2015 at 13:00

Ablett has been doing full contact training, but I doubt he will feature in any nab cup matches. Hoping for around 18+ games from him. Getting langdon and upgrading stevens sounds like a decent idea! I’m feeling langdon will average around 85 this year.

      Jayden · 11/03/2015 at 13:18

      Yeah watching him very closely

Tyler · 11/03/2015 at 07:26

Thoughts on Scott D thompson from North? Priced at $422,300, started every home and away season game last year and averaged 98 in 2013.
Worth considering?

    Jayden · 11/03/2015 at 11:44

Watch him in the next nab game could be a good option

Beerz09 · 11/03/2015 at 07:40

What does everyone think of Hibberd in the back line? He has been in my D3 all year but he does not get a lot of mention in the threads; should he stay or should he go?

    I N Pieman · 11/03/2015 at 08:37

Hibberd’s hammys bother me. Good player

      Jayden · 11/03/2015 at 11:45

Great potential but with asada hanging over his head he isn’t talked about too much otherwise I reckon he would be the talk of the town

    Redgumwon · 11/03/2015 at 14:45

I'm wait and see on most Essendon players are waiting for ASADA. If he is clear to play he'll be in my side.

I don't know how many times I've change my backline now with injury and form. My backline looks like this at the moment

Hibberd, Kelly, Newnes, Macmillan, C. Pearce, Edwards, Goddard, Saad.

What are people's thoughts on Jacobs (Nth) he might be a cheap option that scores 70- 80 points?

Hometime boiz · 11/03/2015 at 10:27

Natanui and Bellchambers in ruck?
Goldstein and Natanui in ruck?

    t_mitch · 11/03/2015 at 10:38

goldy and bellchambers an option? whispers out of west coast are nic nat is not right, hard to gauge but he scares me a little and my gut is telling me to steer clear

    Redgumwon · 11/03/2015 at 14:46

If you can Goldy and Nic Nat. But I'd love to see Nic Nat play first in the NAB Cup

derek · 11/03/2015 at 11:05

ummmm………I might…..ummmm……..I think………….second option. 🙂

Sana · 11/03/2015 at 11:36

Anyone considering Harry Taylor?

    vinnymac · 11/03/2015 at 13:04

Shhhh. I’ve got him in my side at the moment. He is rhe boss in defence at geelong and has trimmed down…hoping he will reduce his inconsistency!

Benjemima · 11/03/2015 at 13:19

I currently have 3 Saints in my back line (Newnes, Geary and Goddard). I don't like it, but with the lack of quality backline players i'm finding this difficult to get around. The rest of my backline is as follows. H.Shaw, T.Langdon, C.Pearce S.Edwards and A.Saad.

    Redgumwon · 11/03/2015 at 14:49

You can always trade some or all out down the track at the byes to upgrade players. I think you may keep Newnes all year if he fires

Swans2012 · 11/03/2015 at 13:42

Anyone else considering Michael Walters? 383 000 good in 2013 (90ish average I think)before injury ruined last year. Has been mentioned as spending a bit more time up the ground this year, I’ve just got a good feeling…
Unfortunately I’ve also got a good feeling about jack Steven, the belch, clancee, wells, savage and luey = mid price madness

handsy mcpansy · 11/03/2015 at 14:03

NIC NAT GONE. His o.p has flared up and the clubs not sure what to do. Lycett will struggle being the number one option I see him just plodding from contest to contest. Sinclair will be a good pick and should be back for round one, broke a finger in the first nab game.

    cow roll · 11/03/2015 at 18:16

Sinclair is a clangger machine -55% DE. How's that new kid they have been training for ruck, Fraser McInness?

cow roll · 11/03/2015 at 14:41

Sheppard or Henderson?

    t_mitch · 11/03/2015 at 14:44

if i were to pick one at this point it would be henderson

Redgumwon · 11/03/2015 at 15:02

If Tom Michell has to go out of my side Walters might be the go to man or Belchambers

Simon · 11/03/2015 at 17:12

Who should I choose as second ruck
Zac smith
Brodie grundy

    Jimmy Joe · 11/03/2015 at 19:51

Your guess is as good as mine mate. I currently have Maric as R1 and Nic Nat as R2 but I'm getting scared off Nic Nat with all this potential injury talk. I'd love to be able to afford another promo ruck alongside Maric but realistically can only afford a mid pricer. From the three you mentioned my gut says Smith.

Caley · 16/03/2015 at 17:48

One spot to fill in my team, Sam Mitchell, Andrew Swallow or Luke Hodge? Thoughts?

Nick · 30/03/2015 at 16:43

When is the premium Cheat Sheet coming out????
