Supercoach 2014

Lets get this bloody split round out of the way

A stain on the bog catcher of the latter part of the season – but we have a clear run at things from this weekend through till the end of the season.

Captaincy is a bit of an issue heading into the arse end of the split round – you’d be happy if you were lucky enough snag a nice loophole VC last week, but for those who didn’t captain selection will be absolutely critical this weekend.

So we have some significance left to play itself out this round

Enjoy the show folks

JPK captain – C’mon Swannies!

throttlefinger · 24/07/2014 at 22:00

JPK = VC, Pendles C. Rolling it tight but strong.

    dognino · 25/07/2014 at 12:35

That was my plan, all of my non scoring bench players played last week tho, so wouldn't have been able to loophole. Happy with selwood a efforts , 294 C score

Donavan · 24/07/2014 at 22:01

Life is great. JR Podcast. scotch and white chocolate, and wife overseas.

Just need the Hawks to beat the Swannies, and that would top it off.

Fabian · 24/07/2014 at 22:14

Didn't have any non playing players this week, otherwise would have gone VC nic nat into pendles as C. Had the VC on motlop but the flopped.

Tempted to go the C on NicNat. I had a woeful start to the round so need something to go crazy well for me to hold onto my ranking.

Jock, next time you are having a big one down at the pub, let me know. I recently moved away from Docklands but would love to have a few frothies with the father himself

Wolfy · 24/07/2014 at 22:47

Who will score more points over the next 3 rounds and then till end of rnd 23,

Miles? Or S.Mitchel?

(Last trade to replace Roughy :()

    Donavan · 25/07/2014 at 00:41

    Mitchell should out-score Miles

grugeneski · 25/07/2014 at 00:30

excellent work team :o)

I'm still in need of a bit of help too

1 trade left, $8,9k in the bank

def: bartel, malceski, mcveigh, hanley, lumumba, suckling (z jones, c cameron)
mid: boomer, stevie j, pendles, swallow, wines, o'meara, macrae, shuey (h'church, ross)
ruc: sauce, mummy (brown, thurlow)
fwd: danger, dusty, zorko, pav, bird, parker (towers, c cameron)

REALLY want to get rid of lumumba, being my weakest link, and 'upgrade' him to Carlisle, after the round is
however, he gives me much cover, on pretty much every line. Do I trade out lumumba or suckling to get Carlisle in?? If either of them don't drop too far below their BE that I can't afford him obviously? – Also, is there another 'upgrade' option I may be missing that I haven't thought of?

Help me make finals!

    Flaccid Jaff · 25/07/2014 at 08:56

Stick with Lumumba I reckon, should finish strong in a team desperate to make finals.
Suckling and Pav are the blokes I probably have the least faith in.
Sam Mitchell is a must have but you fall just short from suckling which is a shame.
If I were you, I'd trade out pav (or bird), swing boomer forward and trade in Sam Mitchell!
This opens up a defensive swing-set, and although financially it's a 'downgrade', and you'll have wasted left over cash, Sam Mitchell is the best player you can afford and should finish very strongly (they won't want to fly to Perth or Sydney for a final!
    Good luck for finals!

      Flaccid Jaff · 25/07/2014 at 08:59

Opens up def swing assuming your swallow plays for north.
But even if not, Mitchell is a champion!

        grugeneski · 27/07/2014 at 00:04

Cheers F-Jeff – My Swallow is of the GC variety – giving me plenty of swing option.

If I bring mitchell in it'd be for Bird for sure yeah. Cheers for that. Didn't even think about keeping Lumumba. he's let me down so much. After watching the hawks v swans I think Burgoyne is a better option than S Mitchell. He's proven yeah, but he struggled hard against the swans. He had a blinder 1st quarter but went missing pretty much entire game from there. What about Hodge?

Jesse · 25/07/2014 at 07:59

hanley VC massive punt

    Derek · 26/07/2014 at 19:19

We are not worthy of your greatness!

    Take that?

    Donavan · 27/07/2014 at 12:04

Hope you went with your gut instinct. If so great reward.

James Sykes · 25/07/2014 at 10:22

have to say that the split round is better than the bye rounds…..

but I suppose that is like it is better to be executed by lethal injection rather than firing squad……..

Kev · 25/07/2014 at 12:32

Jaegar O'Meara a good POD option?

Donavan · 25/07/2014 at 15:04

What is the go with the Eagles resting Lycett. Lycett has played 5-6 games this year and needs a rest after a week off.

Anyway, allows me to make him Captain and take Stevie J's 140+ score doubled-up.

ollie · 25/07/2014 at 15:34

Thinking of trading out Rioli for Mitchell which gives me 158k in the bank and 4 trades. I can then get rid of Murphy, Jaensch or Birchall depending on their form the next few weeks. Does this seem like a good plan?

    Donavan · 25/07/2014 at 17:01

This is a very good plan. Just not sure that Rioli will be back at his best before the finals.

Ron · 25/07/2014 at 18:25

Should I trade in prestia or JPK before lockout????
Trading in prestia will also free up enough cash for suckling into Hanley…

Pls reply asap as lockouts approaching'!!

    Donavan · 25/07/2014 at 19:25

I’d go JPK, can you still go Suckling to Mitchell

Morse · 25/07/2014 at 19:35

Pendles or Rocky as capitain lads????

    MightyDonsFC · 26/07/2014 at 13:46

I can smell what the rock is cooking, 140+!

David · 25/07/2014 at 22:03

Well done Cotchin 🙂

On target for a 50 :)))

    Kevin · 25/07/2014 at 23:38

Yeah tough conditions will always sort the pretenders from the players

Vidporn Terdsak · 25/07/2014 at 23:56

Hickory dickory docks…the vickery punched the cox…the cox went down…the tiges gathered round…and we all had a beer with the Jocks……… Go the Tiges! Loving Miles on my field….

Jambo · 26/07/2014 at 08:32

So glad that I went Ivan Maric a couple of weeks ago. Game-changer!

WombatsFC · 26/07/2014 at 12:45

When asked about Tyrone Vickery's courage most experts agree that it's as prevalent as Unicorns and honest politicians. It was a cowards punch that has been hailed by a coward coach as a 'tough act'. Typical tiger tough, king hit when nobody's looking and then run like hell. Suspend the coward dog Vickery and his equally as cowardly coach for a full season.

    medadsson · 26/07/2014 at 16:19

Not a good act agreed but perhaps he has Lycett on the bench in his supercoach team?

Jack · 26/07/2014 at 15:42

Trade or keep roughead?
