Supercoach 2014 podcast

It was a huge round 15 for many.

Some massive round 15 scores have been bandied about like Brown’s Cows – and it’s clear that there is razor sharp focus around the joint as we round the turn and head for home. Very good signs.

We spend a fair bit of time extracting the marrow out of some options that represent cracking value this week. Many of the big premium midfielders are bloody expensive.. but there is some cracking value if you have a good look through the stats.

Enjoy the show community and look forward to the analysis below.

Lookin to score about 2650 or higher this week, hot dog

  3. John says:

On 2452 with pendubury jade Simpson n beams to go

  4. BCHawks says:

With both Murphy and Walker currently stinking me up I will be lucky to crack 2500.

  5. john fitzgerald says:

libba as captain :'( took the dog for a walk and forgot to change.

    • Michael says:

Oh man, what a time for him to stink it up! Bad luck champ, you may need to kick the dog for that one!

    • judd0 says:

      Me to mate πŸ™
      Feel your pain.
I end up with 2582, if libba had of even just scored par I would of scored 2650 atleast.

  6. James says:

Currentley on 2357 with Simpson, Pendles and Beams playing
And i will beat the top team this week who was undefeated until this point!
    Great week!

  7. Rosco says:

2682. I decided to not trade Ambrose which has cost me 2700+ but still wrapped with that score.

  8. SCaddict says:

A new PB of about 2740 that should see me break into the overall top 1000 for the first time this season. I guess these are the sorts of things possible when Cotch actually decides to produce ha ha. Finally pulled his finger out after 14 rounds of frustrating ownership.

Looking forward to now kicking back and listening to another superb poddie whilst the rankings are crunched.

    • Michael says:

      Fantastic work SC! Well done!

    • throttlefinger says:

Yeah, I had NO chance of beating you in the throttledome. Well done, my friend!!!!

      • SCaddict says:

Think you created your own monster with this Throttledome league. You just can't catch a break any round. Maybe next week it will be your turn to shine?

At least your demon spawn is ranked in the top 100 he he.

        • throttlefinger says:

Ha! More like next year will be my turn to shine, SCaddict.

Regardless, been enjoying the power scores in the 'dome. Will be extremely pleased if it finishes top 100 for sure.

    • jockreynolds says:

Fantastic SC!! Great to see you smash up into the top 1000.

      • SCaddict says:

Thanks Jock and Community. Halved my rank from 1300 odd to 661 in one foul swoop.

What a freakish round. May go to my grave with this PB of 2752 unless they change the scoring system or something. πŸ™‚

    • dannyyboyy says:

yeah well done SC, 2752!!! i got 2727 which is my PB aswell. i knocked off 2nd place for ya in the throttledome, as i try push towards the top 4 aswell. good stuff on getting up into the top 1k to. what a great week in SC!!!

      • throttlefinger says:

Congrats DB! Saw that as well. Should be glad you didn't play SC this week. Getting a PB and a L would have been sent me to the looney bin.

        • dannyyboyy says:

i only won 4 outta 5 leagues, Rage to Glory knocked me off with 2817! big round!

          • throttlefinger says:

Now THAT is a monster score! Wow.

            • judd0 says:

Spewing the league didn't go up in the ranks, looks like we will settled around 99.
Be happy if we finish inside the top 100

              • throttlefinger says:

Juddy, if we can fall within the top 100, especially with MY weakass team, I'll have to throw a post-finals Throttleparty.

                • judd0 says:

Haha it just has not been the year of the throttle has it.
We will have to organise another league of similar calibre for next season as well.

          • chandanrajdb says:

Well Done Dannyboy, The league which I Created is doing really really well with people like you in that league mate….. our league is now ranked 53rd overall…..now that is one hell of an achievement…..

Nice to see some monster scores in that league ….."Rage to Glory" 2817 this week that is insane…..

As i have mentioned on our league chat window…..tough luck to loose with that score mate……

            • dannyyboyy says:

thanks raj, its great to be a part of it! i was off to a slow start compared to last year, but i feel ive managed my trades really well. i was ranked about 40k after round 8 and im lookin at moving into the top 5k next week, i finished just inside the top 4k last year so with 8 trades remaining im lookin to beat that as a personal aim.

good luck with your pursuit for the 50k mate, you should crack the top 100 soon and you are still very much a chance, you have had a great year and many of us can only dream of doing the same.

im looking forward to getting a crack at you in 3 weeks in your league and then again the following week in the throttledome, 2 great leagues with some big matches as we head to the finals. its an exciting time of year, alright.

          • Bengals says:

Yeah the league is doing awesome I was like yes I think ill have the biggest score in your league with a 2770. BUT then i sore the 2817 and i was like damn that is a good score.

Well very happy with the score even with Chappy and Wingard not ding that well. And the league is killin it so well done.

      • SCaddict says:

Thanks Dannyboy. Your stellar efforts were certainly appreciated!

        • taylorwoof says:

Power scoring Danny and SC, amazing efforts.

Starting to heat up in the Throttledome!

          • SCaddict says:

It's going to be one helluva final series. So many killer teams it's going to be a real coin toss.

            • chandanrajdb says:

Yup…..will be really good finals in that league…..hopefully…..

              Awesome score SC……well done mate….

My team scored my PB of 2632….which I am very happy with…..and also moved up in the ranking a bit…..from 137 before this week to 108 overall…..not bad…..aim is to finish within top 100….hopefully I can achieve that…..

              • SCaddict says:

Yeah mate I've been tracking your progress during the season. So close to cracking the top 100 now.

But putting aside the $50K it's all about making the Jock Reynolds premier leagues next season and you have a legit shot at that now. πŸ™‚

                • dannyyboyy says:

what do u have to do to qualify for jocks leagues?

                  • SCaddict says:

I can't remember the specific ins and outs of what happens exactly other than the winners of both the donor and wider qualifiers groupings get a berth in some sort of 'official' Jock Reynolds leagues next season. Not sure about runners up etc.

Raj is currently running 2nd in the donors group trailing the leader "Random Breath Test" by just 195pts.

    • GarglesnarfFC says:

Brilliant scoring SC! Deserved after all your advice to the rest of us!

And well done to all the others who went so large this week. Roll on community!

    • WombatsFC says:

      Well done SCJunkie!
Guys like you and Throttle and a few others in "The Dome" have been sharing wisdom and insights for this season since October last year.
This is the reason that I also had a PB (2648) this week and the reason that my overall rank has fluctuated between 1,000 and 2,500 since round 5. L/Y 20,000-30,000

I reckon if I put in the same effort next year and avoid the feminine distractions that prevented me making last minute changes a few times I could give it a real shake.

      • The Ranger says:

        SCaddict. Wombats. Gargle. TF. Chandanraj.
And I should give a shout out to Sarah too.
You've been the people I've been following all year and after three nonsense years of trying to figure out this game I've finally cracked the top four in my leagues (currently sitting 1st in one and 2nd in the other) and had a PB of 2495 last week. Well chuffed.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

        • Sarah says:

          Awww cheers Ranger!! πŸ™‚
I'm having my best season to date too. Sitting 1st in a couple of leagues and currently 2221 overall.

  9. canman1306 says:

Someone in my League managed 2815 unscaled

  10. john says:

just hit 2778 not bad at all!!

  11. The benchmark says:

    2538 πŸ™‚

  12. The Filth says:

    2735 – shame Libba didn't score big…

  13. Jackson says:

Just got 2768 this round! Bit disappointed I traded in Libba this round over Fyfe but still very happy with that score.

    • Darren says:

that trade might have cost you not only $50,000 in game cash, but a brand new ute as well.

    • SCaddict says:

Yeah I know the feeling. if only Libba went off what could've been…. but there are already too many woulda coulda shouldas in Supercoach so just bask for a while in that awesome score and then move on to next round.

    • Peter says:

The most inane trade by a good supercoach player. What were you thinking?

      • Jackson says:

Didn't think the trade was that bad! I wanted to trade out Griffen anyway because of the injury and I thought I would rather trade him out for Libba, thinking he would average a fair bit higher then Fyfe.

  14. Dustbin Feltchers says:

    2451 with libba, mcrae,murphy and bloody wingard…

  15. Ringer says:

  16. Hazey says:

Thanks for the sanity check in keeping Zorko boys!!!! 2560 here, a pb for me!

  17. The colonel says:

Got beaten in my league by a score of 2865!

    • Lisa says:

Wow, I scored 2673 and lost in one of my leagues and lost and I thought I was unlucky!

  18. Wattsieesq says:

2507. Bloody libba and the Chad stinking it up.

  19. Jack says:

Feeling pretty good scoring 3017, seen another team with 3021. I had one of the luckiest rounds of my life I think…

  20. Josh says:

I'm surprised not many people have jumped on Luke Parker.
I had him at the start of last year and he was a lock at the start of this year.

I'm happy though with my 2452 with Shaw, Libba and Murph.

    • SCaddict says:

17% is fairly reasonable ownership. That's more than either Boomer or Robbie Gray.

Many coaches backed the wrong horse in the tricky Tommy Mitchell vs Lukey Parker preseason choice as did I, though I've had Parker since about Rd 7.

Currently underpriced at $488K with the Swans attractive remaining schedule for those who still want to get on.

  21. Matt says:

Thinking Ambrose and Llewis Taylor >> Honeychurch and JPK to complete my side with 7 trades left.

Only real problem is the lack of playing bench rookies, but i figure with 7 trades i can cover my team pretty well anyway.

  22. tom says:

I have 3 trades left (ooopsss) and I know I should be saving my trades like crazy and that was my plan but Andrew "massive turd in my undies" Walker is seriously making me consider going him to Kade Simpson for just about nothing.
Should I look to do this or save my trades even with this turd scoring in the 40's?

    Thanks community

    • Ryan says:

Hold IMO, would only take a couple of injuries for you to go into finals with no trades left.

      • scano says:

I know but Walker is going to drop a lot in price now and hasn't been great at all all year

        really tempting… :/

    • Donavan says:

Hold, your going to need those trades.

    • Wolfey says:

Simpson is still on the way down cash wise so hold for another week or two depending on simpson's score

  23. Derek says:

I hung onto daisy one week too long. He was going to go but had problems elsewhere. His 40 points cost me 3 league wins this week. Why did i ever have him???

  24. Donavan says:

Great podcast again, and would love to hear an entire match commentated by the JR team in super coach point relevant style.

Got 2633 this week, love the Grimes suggestion, could round out my team nicely.

  25. Wolfey says:

Harvey or dahlhaus???? is harvey worth the 150k???

    • Wolfey says:

360k in the bank and need a minimum of 2 more upgrades. Ambrose (f6) > Harvey/ Dahlhaus and when Miles gets enough meat probably Miles > HIgh premo )rockliff, fyfe Kennedy etc have 7 trades

  26. dean billman says:

    God I love the Coach!

  27. Azmataz says:

Only 2450 for me this week, with Shaw, Libba, Murph and Pav stinking it up. Have Rage traded Murph to JPK at the moment. No rookies on field. Will probably go Shenton to Honeychurch next week and Pav to Boomer /Parker.

Some monster scores this weekend….dropped to 778 overall..

    • Hazey says:

Same Q’s here….is it worth trading Pav out or holding? Hard to ignore the upgrade to Parker for a few $$$

      • SCaddict says:

I have Pav too Hazey but with just 5 trades left I will have to hold him and hope he can maintain at least a 90-95 average from here. I do already have Parker though so can certainly appreciate your temptation.

Bob Murphy is another player I'm 'carrying' but there are no sure things with sideways trading and it often proves to be merely an exercise in whittling down trades for negligible benefit by offloading under performing premos mid season, unless they are injured obviously.

Sure sometimes it works out but far too many times it doesn't justify burning a precious trade still over a month out from the finals.

But if you still have 8 plus trades left then perhaps its worth it as there's a very good chance Parker's average will exceed Pav's from here, though there are no guarantees of course.

  28. OzSonic says:

2634 is my highest score ever and had some real stinkers from a few players. Sadly I lost in one of my leagues with this score. πŸ™

  29. Mangrove Jack says:

A PB of 2698, a league win (12.0.1), back in top 2% overall, and looking to trade out last 2 rookies on field this week, with $474K in bank.

  30. Brandon2416 says:

    2665 pb for me

  31. TOM says:

Would anyone consider hodge as their last mid

  32. TOM says:

    Would anyone consider dalhaus

  33. Josh says:

Scored 2801. And spewin I stuffed up the loophole! Made pendlebury captain instead of Ablett. I never do loophole, and never again

    • Peter says:

So did I.I was positive that I had both ambrose and charlie cameron as my subs but- I had only ambrose so I watched captain pendles battle it out after 1/4 time. He was on target to beat Gazzs score.

  34. James says:

    Hi Community,

Is Brent Harvey worth to much money at the moment?
I am thinking of upgrading to Tex Walker instead to save cash. What do we think Tex will average from here on? 90-95?

    Appreciate your thoughts.

    • SCaddict says:

Yes $600K is waaaaaaaay too indulgent to splurge on a premo forward given how cash starved most folks are. So I'd recommend you wait at least another week if you want him that badly, as he is likely to leak more cash with a huge BE of 155, even though that's not entirely beyond him.

Think some people's expectation of Tex were unrealistically high from the get go. Hoping a KPP who missed 12 months of footy will suddenly come out and belt out regular and sizeable tonnes was asking far too much in my view. Now 7 rounds in he has only averaged 75pts which isn't premo production at all, even at the very bottom end of the spectrum. In fact fairly mediocre output really.

So yes if you have a few spare trades in your hip pocket I would seriously consider upgrading him to the likes of a Dahlhaus or Parker, or perhaps waiting another week or two on Boomer if you are really super keen on him.

      • James says:

Do you think Dahlhaus will average more than Wingard, Zorko or Bruest?
Currently I have 9 trades left so I'm not sure if I should wait a week or two for Boomer or just to go to Dahlhaus or someone similar.
I'm currently 1st in my league so I probably should just hold but it is very tempting to trade now.

        • SCaddict says:

To be honest despite me bagging Tex a little I would probably hold one more week. He has a very gettable BE of 69 and is probably overdue for a big one. Also Crows have an easier one against GWS this weekend so there is always that potential of kicking a bag.

But if Tex does spud it up again well then Boomer is almost certain to be cheaper next week and could soon be closer to $500K if he puts in another 70 type game against the Hawks.

Also Dahlhaus has a reasonably challenging BE of 95 so probably won't be much more expensive waiting another week to make your decision.

Whilst Wingard, Breust and Zorko are all respectable choices I wouldn't be uber excited getting them in myself at this stage of the game. They have all had there ups and downs this season unless you enjoy roller coaster rides. πŸ™‚

I assume you already have Parker then as he's the 'best bang for the buck' forward out there right now in my book. Sydney have a very soft remaining draw for a top 4 bound team so there should be plenty of Swannies regularly tonning up in the final 8 rounds, if the past few months is any guide.

  35. Adam says:

Time to offload ambrose to a non-playing rookie?
I won't be making 2 trades this week regardless of whether I do or not
But is he likely to go up or down this week?

    • SCaddict says:

His BE is bang on his average around the 60 mark so he's unlikely to gain or lose much cash this round except in the exceptionally unlikely event he cops the green vest.

Honeychurch is an obvious contender for his position especially with that handy DPP eligibility. Would make a sweet swing set if you also have Shenton already on your midfield bench.

In fact a trade I'm seriously looking at doing myself next week.

  36. Wattsieesq says:

Is Robbie Gray cooked? I'm upgrading my last rookie in the mids to either him, NDS or the Sloane Ranger. What are people's thoughts?

    • Beady Eye says:

I wouldn't put him in the same bracket as the top midfielders.

A top 6 forward and potentially THE top forward, but his average wouldn't put him in the top 20 mids. Grab him if your forward line needs upgrading, but there's better value in midfield.

    • SCaddict says:

Yeah Beady Eye is spot on. So much more you could do with $540K in the middle. Barlow is actually cheaper as just one example.

There's even a reasonable chance Libba could be around that mark in another few weeks after his tagging mare on the weekend. Griffen should be back soon to relieve him from that primary tag too.

      • Wattsieesq says:

Thanks guys for the response. I really appreciate both your wisdoms.

My Midfield is currently Gaz, Pendles, Jellwood, Libba, Barlow, Goddard and Beams. That's why I'm thinking of these 3. I'm not sold on Steve Johnson, and to a lesser extent Cotch or A Swallow, so that's why those three came to me.

        • SCaddict says:

If $540K was the threshold then I'd pick between NDS, Boyd and Jack (assuming he pulls up ok from the shoulder knock on the weekend) over a Robbie Gray if it was me choosing.

But you have to make your own call of course.

          • Wattsieesq says:

Thanks mate, I'm leaning towards Sloane, but NDS is undervalued and as the boys are always saying, we need to extract value. Jack is interesting but I am worried about his shoulder. NDS and Sloane both have good runs home. Thanks once again. I appreciate it.

  37. Liam says:

Need help from the community, never really post here asking for help but am Thinking about trading out Nic Nat. Have (s)martin at F6 so looking at putting him in the ruck then bringing dusty from mid back to forward. Was planning to bring in someone like Selwood, Jack, Dalsanto. But are above my available $$ now. Is Nic Nac to Stevie J or Luke Hodge considered a sideways trade. Got a feeling Hodges scores will pick up but stevie J at current price is tempting. Will then be eventually upgrading martin to mummy (well that is the longterm plan anyways!)

    • Derek says:

Hold NicNat. Especially if you Have Sandi as other ruck, he may be rested soon, you will need back up ruck in martin

    • Gilly says:

I agree I would be holding nic nat and looking at another way to strengthen your mid

  38. Cameron says:

Listening from a dingy hostel in San Francisco, this heals homesickness and jet lag. God bless you

  39. The Garbo says:

    JPK or Rockliff? And why?

    • Crowmagnon says:

JPK just. played more games and in a better team. Swans have a good run home too.

    • SCaddict says:

      All the way with JPK!

      1) Has been super reliable tonning up every round bar the 1st when the Swans were still sleepwalking;
      2) Swans have plenty of other stars to tag; and
      3) Sydney have a much more appealing Supercoach finals draw compared to the Lions

    • Derek says:

Have a look at Swans last 3 games (SC Finals)

      Swans: Saints (H), Dogs (A), Richmond (H):

Brisbane have Pies (A), Freo (H) Cats (Skilled)

      Then pick JPK

    • Gilly says:

I can't really add anything to the what the others have said so it's JPK for me to.

    • The Garbo says:

Thanks team! JPK the clear winner.
I was only enticed by Rockliffs ability to pump out those +150

      • Sarah says:

I feel I have to throw a bit of a spanner in the works by pointing out that JPK doesn't tend to go big against lower teams (which he'll be up against in the SC finals), whereas Rockliff can go big against anyone… he scored 158 against Freo only two weeks ago.

I'd almost prefer to take the Captain of a team which isn't going to make the finals, who will want to lead by example and finish off the year strongly… but that's just me and I do already have Rockliff.

        • ERIC says:

I agree Sarah. It seems the better the opponent, the bigger the score when it comes to premo players. Is it because there are more contested balls to be won?

          • Sarah says:

I reckon that probably does have something to do with it. And let's face it, they're human so if they're already in the finals, or know they're going to win, they're not going to go in as hard and try to save themselves for more important games. There'd be nothing worse than getting an injury right before finals in a meaningless match.

            • WombatsFC says:

              Love your insights Sarah.
I also have Rocky but not JPK
I am looking to upgrade Smurph or Wines this week who do you think is the best option?
I have gaz, pendle, jelwood,Beams,Rocky,Libba. I was considering Fyffe or JPK but cant decide on whether Ollie or Smurph should go.
              What do you think?

              • Sarah says:

I'd probably keep Smurph and kick Wines for Ward. I picked up Ward when he bottomed out and he's been pure gold!!

I'm sure JPK and Fyfe will continue to score well also and you can't really go wrong with them, but I just love the determination of a gun playing in a team that will either miss the finals or is fighting for a finals spot… Rocky, Sloane and Ward all fall into this category. You know each week you'll get 110% effort and they'll never coast through even when their team is winning.

  40. The Garbo says:

Who to cull, for most likely Honeychurch?

    Shenton or Ambrose?

    • Crowmagnon says:

I'd do Ambrose first, but wait a week if you can. Although I see by your previous post that you have plans for the cash.

      • Itchy Nuts Pieman says:

Yeah wait a week, unless you have ample cover! Honeychurch didn't set the world on fire

    • The Garbo says:

cheers lads – don't think I can wait another week unfortunately.
I'm only looking at honeychurch because of his DPP status. Then I can use taylor or shenton (if I trade ambrose) as cover in either mid or fwd or both when needed.
And alternative downgrades are very scarce

  41. Itchy Nuts Pieman says:

Not sure what to do about Lewis Taylor. Every time I think it's time to go he smashs it.

    • Michael says:

Def hold for the moment, only BE of 42 this week so should manage that against the toothless tiges.

    • The Garbo says:

I know what you mean. It's like he knew he was about to go on the chopping block.
      Good problem to have though

  42. TOM says:

Hi community, need your thoughts on my team

backs: swallow, bartel, burgoyne, hanley, hurn, mcveigh, (cutler, georgio)
mids: ablett, pendles, beams, rocklliff, selwood, ward, kennedy, k.mitchell (hartung, acres)
    rucks: mummy, sandi (derickx, thurlow)
fwds: danger, zorko, wingard, parker, martin, mcgovern, (honeychurch, cameron)

I have 5 trades left and $80,900 left in the bank.
I'm currently 6th on my league ladder.
Was thinking of maybe going cutler to zak jones to free up some cash or derickx to ben brown to free up some cash

    • Michael says:

I'd hold on Derickx to see if named, you'll need him when Sandy gets rested. If not named do the trade. Hold other trades for injuries.

    • RooBoy says:

      Hi Tom,

      Nice team!
Both of those cash grabs are good, If either of Derickz or Cutler return this week I'd trade them out.
Both are lookng like losing value if they play again.
If you are game to use another trade I'd upgrade Mitchell sooner rather than later.

    • Schnook says:

If your league draw looks 1/2 decent i would hold fire on trades If that's S Martin in FWD, i would do (down the track if possible) as it, frees up a good swag of cash with protection of ruck loophole.

  43. Didier says:

backs: Bartel, mcveigh, swallow, hibberd, birchall, hanley (georgiou, tippet)
mids: Gaz, NDS, Selwood, s. johnson, murphy, goddard, beams, danger (lloyd, hartung)
    rucks: sandi, goldy (lobb, king)
forward: Martin, dahlous, winged, zorko, parker, ambrose (honey church, lloyd)

I have 5 trades left and 226k left in the bank
For some stupid reason i dont have pendlebury in my team and it has cost me a few weeks!!!

The trades i was thinking are:
    Ambrose > Pendlebury
    J. Lloyd > Kersten

Would love imput from all please

    • Gilly says:

Makes sense to me, I think Kersten will get a reasonable run at it if he stays injury free. Being a KPP his scores might be a bit up and down but should be a warm body anyway. Been in their system for a few years so they know what he can do. They are looking for a 2nd key tall and he is the obvious one to me. Good luck!

      • Didier says:

cheers gilly love the feedback so thank you !!!
yer seem pretty straight forward, been wanting pendles in since round 2 !!!!

  44. TOM says:

    Sounds Good!

  45. Woodman says:

I have five trades left with $102,000 in the kitty. I need one more upgrade in the mids and my teams is done. I have Ablett, Pendlebury, Kennedy, Beams, Murphy, Selwood, Stevie J, and Shenton. Not sure which mid to upgrade to. It will take two trades. Fyfe, Rockliff or Dal Santo? Leave me 3 trades for the finals.

    • scano says:

Rockliff has a very hard finals run
I picked up Fyfe last week and would pick him up if I was in your position

I'm in the same position as you after your trades with only 3 left! :/
      Good luck brother!

    • Gilly says:

Fyfe for me if you can do it. A lot of cash but consistency is what you want especially in the finals. I had a look at NDS earlier tonight (see below) and he has scored under 100 on 5 occasions out of 13 games. That's why I am considering Sloane, only scored under 100 twice and they were 83 and 84, lets you save 50k for future trades. Tough call mate, good luck with it.

  46. Gilly says:

Hoping for some help with my team

Def Bartel, Swallow, McVeigh, Burgoyne, H Shaw, Hanley (Langdon, Georgiou)

Mid Ablett, Pendlebury, Selwood, Ward, Liberatore, Beams, Miles Shenton (Z.O'Brien Michie)

    Ruck Sandilands, Mumford (Derickx, Currie)

Fwd Dangerfield, Parker, Zorko Pavlich, Dahlhaus, Roughhead (McGovern Cameron)

    I have 10 trades and 95k

Tossing up on trading either Shenton/McGovern and Derickx for J.Kennedy and 100k ruck man. Or run with Rory Sloane and keep approx. 65k up sleeve for future trades.

Would prefer to trade Shenton but if I do I loose my mid/fwd swing but I think he has topped out in value and McGovern still has some growth.

    Any suggestions?

  47. Mebois says:

hi guys, need a win this week and not sure about my team. i have 9 trades and 241k.

DEF: mcveigh, bartel, swallow, hubberd, hanley, b.smith (kolo, langford)
MID: ablett, pendles, libba, beams, cotchin, sloane, langford, shenton (hallahan, acres)
    RUC: jacobs, sandilands (thurlow, currie)
FWD: danger, pav, gunston, wingard, tex, s. martin (mcgovern, cameron)

im thinking of making these trades:

    hallahan>stevie j
langford>jones. jayden hunt for langdon cover?
    tex> parker

    • Gilly says:

How about Langford to J.Hunt, Hallahan to JPK

    • Mebois says:

i think that stevie j will not be any cheaper and jpk for sure has to come down but that sounds like a good idea.

  48. The Garbo says:

Anyone think Hooker is a bargain worth being picked up for the D6 spot?
Was killing it up until rd 9 when I think Hurley got injured. Averaged a ton till rd 9. Ranked number 1 in marks per game. And did lead the league in intercept marks – dont know if he still does

    • SCaddict says:

Probably under priced and if funds are tight then it's an option to consider for D6.

Kade Simpson could be not much more than low 400s next week if you can stretch a little and don't already have him of course.

      • The Garbo says:

Simpson is only owned by 12% of teams. You would think that would dramatically increase after this round when he takes his final price hit most likely with a 144BE

  49. @Rem_Wah says:

Who needs to go first: Suckling or Jaensch?
Looking at upgrading one of them to a DEF premium.
Thinking Birch. History shows he plays well against the top sides. (Which the Hawks will be playing plentiful amounts in the run home)

    • The Garbo says:

Hawks players have been a bit of a pain to own. The whole team plays well for the most part and as a result their fantasy scores are very spread around. So you don't know who will score well from week to week imo

      • SCaddict says:

Yeah I'd rather spend that sort of coin on a Hibberd or Simpson instead. I've held Burgoyne since early in the season and he's suffered a similar fate to Birch and Suckers.

    • Cjay says:

Why not wait for S Mitchell especially after the price drop?

  50. Matt says:

I scored a PB of 2872! 4th highest score of the round and now ranked 2537 πŸ™‚

  51. Shaun says:

G’day fellas!! Can someone please inform me on where Mark Lecras is playing?? Is he getting more midfield time??

  52. Rayza Ray says:

    Attention all Libba owners…

I bought him in two weeks ago as some of you may have also but the burning question is with out GRIFFIN in the mix as the last two weeks have proven he just cant crack out the scores. A 65 come finals time V's a JPK 150 and she's all over WILL COST YOU A FLAG!

Im asking your considered opinion lets just say GRIFFIN is in for one out for two for the rest of the year do we HOLD and hope like heck he can fight his way out of a TAG or move him on.

You GUNS out there thoughts please.

    • SCaddict says:

JPK is the more consistent player and is surrounded by so many other guns he's seldom the primary focus of the opposition.

BUT no way could this alone justify a sideways trade from Libba. Griffen will be back soon as will Cooney to dilute defensive attention. Doggies also have a decent enough SC finals draw.

So the notion of trading out Libba after one poor showing has 'post season regret' written all over it in my mind.

  53. Rayza Ray says:

I was hoping you'd respond SCaddict appreciate ya buddy.

    • SCaddict says:

I'm also a Libba owner and have been pretty peeved by his last fortnight too. Just hang in there. Reckon you'll be glad you held on to that extra trade in the end.

  54. Donavan says:

I am trying to decide on my final moves to make my team finals ready.

    Current team-
Def – Bartel, Swallow, Enright, Malceski, Hanley, Firrito (Shoenmakers, Tippett)
Mid – Ablett, Pendlebury, D.Beams, Priddis, Goddard, Cotchin, Miles, D.Martin (Shenton, Acres)
Ruck – Sandilands, Naitanui (Derickx, Lobb)
Fwd – Dangerfield, Gray, Franklin, Dahlhaus, Roughead, Zorko (McGovern, S.Lloyd)

    7 trades & $31600 in the bank.

Looking at upgrading D6 (possibly this week), and M8 (Miles to ……, in 2-3 weeks when Miles increases).

    Appreciate the communities thoughts.

    • SCaddict says:

That sounds like a solid plan to me. Simpson is looking very tasty as either a Banana Fritter or Cobbler upgrade although Kade probably has further to bottom out if you can wait another week.

Or alternatively you could go straight up to McVeigh right away who still presents decent value at $520K, if you don't trust that Kade's midseason uber form will return. Hibberd is another to consider.

Reckon that's a reasonable use of one of your 7 remaining trades and then perhaps you could look at upgrading Miles in a fortnight or so if you aren't struck down by injuries by then.

      • Donavan says:

        Thanks SCA.

Might wait a week or 2 for Simpson, or perhaps 3-4 weeks for Sam Mitchell.

  55. oliverfisher says:

7 trades and 21,100 in the bank and not sure what to do with rioli. I have mcgovern as cover who is scoring reasonable well at the moment and 3 easy games coming up. Was thinking of swapping for Dixon which gives me a forward swing with Brown, or should i hold off for a few weeks and see how his form is?

    • big aggots says:

Big Charlie will give you some 60's, but the Suns have a very nice run home after a horror 6-7 weeks. He has 90+ 5 times in his 8 games back and low BE this week. You could do worse.

  56. Snake says:

I have Nick Reiwoeful and hes just not performing as we all know.. Given he is only 360k and I only have 20k in the bank. Is it worth trading him? if so any recommendations?? I'm stumped!.

I know there's the slight chance he could regain a bit of form, however this late in the season i need my team finalized for the run home.

    Any advice greatly appreciated

    • Sarah says:

I understand your frustration. I traded him for Miles two weeks ago and am much happier without him in my team.
I have a bit of an out-there option for you… Tom Lynch ($370k) from the Crows. His two low scores were from a sub-effected 14 and injury-effected 0. Other than that he has two scores of 128 and 79. I think he'd make a great option for someone who's a bit short of cash for a last forward upgrade… maybe one for you to consider next week when his price drops a little further.

      • Snake says:

        Thanks Sarah,
Yes Lynch is definitely a consideration along with maybe a Lindsay Thomas who is a bit up and down… I'm just finding it hard to let go of a Premium player (who is a rut) for an average player.

        decisions decisions!

Ill be kicking myself if Reiwoldt scores over 100 this weekend. Probably will against Jamieson as he is awful (I'm a blues supporter) :s

  57. Billy says:

HIBBERD OUT. what do we do?? trade or hold?
