Gday Jock,
I donated last year and i'm currently in the Donners league.. Do i get to listen to your podcast mate??
Cheers
James
I also donated earlier in the year and am also in the donor's league. Do i have to pay again?
can you shoot me an email old boys? [email protected]
Will do mate!
You legend mate
Hey Jock and community
Just want to know if Enright or Hodge are still supercoach relevant?
No and No Phil.
Disagree on Enright Horse, has strung two good scores (101,99) together for the first time this year and at $424,500 is one of few defensive bargains left. With Geelongs run home where they should win the majority of the SC points he should provide good value for those who jump on.
Fair call there Garglesnarf but his best is behind him. I think Scott Thompson is a better option, 22k cheaper, an even better run home, massive ceiling and will only score higher when Grima returns. I am however waiting on S Mitchell after a couple of games back at around the same price as my mid/def swing man off the bench.
I see a lot of people putting this trade out there, but my issue with it is that you are waiting on a guy who may come in in 2 weeks, 4 weeks or may not come back at all.
Hawthorn will want him for finals, but I would suggest that they will manage him very carefully when he returns, so that he is all set for week one of the finals. Don’t be surprised if he is vested, in green or red for his first two games back, meaning the points just arent likely to be there when you need them.
By all means consider him if one of your premiums goes down injured, but if you have upgrades to do then do them now.
I'm hoping Mitchell starts the sub and drops that little bit more, might even save me a cash generation trade to get him. I'm not looking to do any further on field upgrades, currently ranked 439 and on the rise for now… Mitchell will be my def-mid swing bench cover via J Hunt trade. Expect he'll be back in 1-2 which would work in perfectly (as long as my mid-def holds up until then).
I had a close look at him Horse. Thompson averages low 80's which is significantly down on his 2013 output. Too bigger gap between his best this year 132, 129, 122 and his worst 39, 59, 61, 71, 74, 77 for mine.
Thompson could average 115 over the next couple of months (or 85), but I think with his ceiling and Norths run home he is worth the gamble if you're looking at saving some $.
Can I download as a podcast on iphone?
Gday Ram – no she's just a link that opens up a little audio player in the browser mate
amazing podcast. Love it
Hi Jock, Love ya work mate, just wanted to let you now I donated and then tried to listen to the podcast but there was no volume, is there something I can do to make it work.
It worked on my phone, not on the computer, maybe a problem with computer. Thanks again Jock
Glad you got it sorted Craig!
Hi community, Love your work Jock!
need your thoughts I currently have 7 trades left.
backs: burgoyne, swallow, bartel, hurn, hanley, langdon (cutler, georgio)
mids: selwood, ablett, beams, pendles, ward, kennedy, k.mitchell, rockliff, (hartung, acres)
rucks: sandi, mummy (derickx, thurlow)
fwds: danger, zorko, martin, parker, wingard, mvgovern,(shenton, cameron)
Was thinking of going K.Mitchell to Honeychurch, sub him on fwd bench and sub a fwd into the middle. Then I was thinking of going Langdon to McVeigh. Thoughts community. I have $43,000 left before trading
Hi Tom, your trades are ok, but then you have Shenton the field. How about KMitch > SMartin and swing Wingard into the middle, then Langdon into Enright who looks to have finally come back into form.
Adds another swing set and two upgrades, & keeps Shentons 60’s on the bench. SMartin is set to hit mid to high $400’s and average around 100, his work rate around the ground is just fantastic, and even when his side was getting belted he kept presenting through the middle of the ground and taking marks. Get on him.
loved the podcast jock was really top notch
What's with all the 'I donated earlier in the year, send me the link' rubbish ?? With all the work they put into the podcasts surely people can afford to donate a few dollars again. Appreciate the effort Jock and Co. Looking forward to having a listen!
I'm neither 'here nor there' on this one, but I admit that I did assume that when I heard that this donors' podcast was coming out, as someone who had donated to the site earlier in the year that I would have got an email with the link gratis. I don't feel quite as 'up in arms' about it as Wombats does, but I don't think that free access to the first few podcasts for past supporters is unreasonable.
On the other hand, if Jock and the team decide that this is a new service and comes with a new charging policy regardless of past donations, then I'm fine with that and happy to support them under this new arrangement because as you say, there is considerable effort put in.
Hi Community,
Trying to get my team finished off. 9 trades left and $340k in the bank and placed 1st in my league. I think I need a backman upgrade but I am keen to hear other peoples thoughts?
B: Swallow Bartel McVeigh Hodge Suckling Langdon Laidler/Langford
M: Ablett Pendles Libba NDS Beams Gray Barlow Miles Kmitch/Zob
R: Sandi Smartin Currie/Naismith
F: Danger Parker Pav Shenton Walker McGovern Billings/Ambrose
You have a few upgrades to make, but you are in a strong position to be 1st in your league with 9 trades and cash in your pocket. You also have a couple that will keep making cash for a while. Well done.
You have a fair few dollars sitting on your benches not contributing points to your scores. I think now is the perfect time to think about who you want to finish out the season with on your benches. For example, on your forward line I would want to finish with either Shenton, Billings or Ambrose as F7 (whichever one you think has the best job security), and a rookie who has some chance of playing (eg, Honeychurch) on your last bench position. Billings or Shenton could be moved to the mid bench and form a swingset with Honeychurch who is a dpp.
As far as specific trades go, my best suggestion is for next week (although you might want to do some trading this week as well).
I'd trade Langdon out as a priority because his price is projected to drop. But if he doesn't play this week due to concussion his price stays the same. Kade Simpson should play and his price will drop substantially this week to about 450k. So if Langdon doesn't play, next week give him the flick for Simpson.
Assuming you have coverage for Langdon this week of course
Thanks Guys.
Was thinking of trading out Kmitch and bringing Shenton or Langdon onto the bench in the midfield and then bringing in a premo fwd or defender this week, either Malceski but hold off a week for Simpson. I have no idea in the fwds, who is the best sub $500k option?
Will wait for McGovern to peak in a few weeks, SMartin will stay whilst his output remains at 80+ which for the price paid is just money for jam.
you have a fair bit of cash on your benches. Look at painting fence over the next three weeks. Upgrade Langdon, S Martin, McGovern to premiums, have a great team.
Have you considered getting Mummy in for Kmitch and moving SMartin forward? Shenton or Billings then move onto your mid bench. That gives you 3 lines of cover. Langford to Shaw if you can afford him or Enright/Scott Thompson if you cant is the obvious defensive trade.
I would like to see Langdon on your bench in the mids. You would then have cover for everything, but that would require waiting on Obrien to fatten.
with Stokes out for maybe the rest of the year, who is going to get more Midfield time at the cats?
Bartell, Kelly?
I thought Stokes might only miss one as he is listed as test?
Derek, I'm really bullish on Steven Motlop. He'll venture into the midfield, is kicking goals and getting match fit. I offloaded Higgins for him 2 weeks back and he has posted 100's both weeks. He'll benefit from Stokes being out for 4-8 weeks. 378K BE only 8 and a nice fit at F6.
Hi community,
This is the first time I have ever posted on here but I really am stuck with what to do this week. Sitting 3rd on my league ladder and only $14K in the bank and 6 trades. Side looks like the following:-
Backs:- McVeigh, Swallow, Bartel, Simpson, Suckling, Docherty SUBS – McDonald, Georgiou
Mids:- Ablett, Liberatore, Beams, Mundy, Rockliff, Murph, Goddard, Cotchin SUBS – K Mitchell, Acres
Rucks – Sandi, Minson SUBS – Derickx, A Smith
Forwards – Boomer, R Gray, Danger, L Parker, Zorko, Tex SUBS – Ambrose, Lennon
I was thinking the following:- holding onto my backline as is and putting up with the pain of Docherty for now as Sammy Mitchell is due back soon and then pick him up for pennies when he drops and hope he is back to form for the last 4 games. I think I need to trade out Derickx for a cash grab this week. My dillemma is do I (i) hold my trades completely, (ii) maybe upgrade Murph to Pendlebury while he is still at a premium price as the Blues have a tough run from here or (iii) upgrade Tex to Dusty?
Any help would be amazing and going to donate right this second. Love the Podcast boys.
Just started my 3 monthly donation. Worth every cent. Get behind them community.
Hi Tony, Did it help you with re-organizing your team for the year with what trades you have left? Sorry but I have not yet paid. Why is it worth it at this time of year?
Cheers.
you have a fair bit of cash on your benches (McDonald, KMitchell, Derickx, Ambrose). I would do a last cash grab, and downgrad two of them to rookies and pocket around 350-400k in cash as a warchest for your run home.
I like your idea of SMitchell, that is a few weeks away. Murphy to Pendles is a bit sideways and I would leave for now unless Murphy is out.
Cheers Derek. Appreciate your comments and think you are spot on.
Two downgrades it is. Will wait for teams and will decide between Zac Jones, Honeychurch, Brown and Kersten.
I'd hold trades this week. 6 trades isnt much to work with so many games remaining
True, a lot of downgrades have only played the one match anyway. Maybe at least hold off this week to see how they all go in their second match first and if they are named next week. Cheers Kris
Gday there Tony, welcome to the thread mate.
I'm reading that you're in it for a league in and you're in 3rd.
Would almost certainly hold your trades mate. As you say – bide your time possibly for Mitch when he comes back in, but critically – guard those trades like buggery. In your position and with your goal thats a lock mate
Hey community
What are your thoughts on Scott d Thompson? Higgo mentioned him on the Sunday podcast and I think he could be a great POD come finals.
Don't know about his ability to score points
Gday community. Firstly Jock and the team, thanks for all the effort you guys put in each week. Not only are the podcasts and articles informative but highly entertaining. My 12 yr old son also eagerly waits for the podcasts each week. So we are more than happy to donate.
Currently ranked 95 overall with 5 trades left and need some feedback.
Backs: Bartel, MvVeigh, Swallow, Birchall, Handley, Hodge Emerg: KK and Georgiou
Mids: Ablett, Pendles, Liberatore, JPK, Beams, Selwood, Dangerfield, Cotchin Emerg: Hunt (back) Acres
Rucks: Sandilands, Nic Nat Emerg: Currie King
Fwds: Dusty Martin, Parker, Buddy, Roughy, Wingard, Zorko Emerg: S Martin (ruck) Cameron
Was thinking of one last trade of Currie to Brown in the ruck to allow coverage with Steff Martin. Waste of a trade or not??
I think if you're going to make that trade, wait at least another week to see how brown performs this week
waste of trade if Sandi & NicNat play all games.
hold trades
Gday there Huggy – thanks for the kind words mate and it really is a great pleasure.
Congrats on the rank mate – you're right in there with a crack. 5 trades left – fell premo… here what youre saying about that last trade but for me the value of the trade in the back pocket outweighs the potential value of the Brown > Stef link.. as Bro says, yeah sit on it for another week
I'd hold
Hi community, thoughts on my team and possible trades
Def: Mcveigh, swallow, malceski, hooker, jaensch, r Murphy ( cutler, clurey)
Mid: Ablett, beams, selwood, ward, Liberatore, Sloane, Cotchin, swan (Obrien, acres)
Rucks: sandilands, Mumford (thurlow,king)
For: danger, Harvey, Martin, Parker, roughy, wing are, ( Stevan Martin, Cameron)
6 trades and $6,500 in the bank
Any thoughts appreciated
It looks as though you're traveling along nicely so I'd hold the trades for as long as possible
hold onto those trades for as long as possible
My Team:
DEF: Bartel, Burgone, Birchell, Suckling, Hanley, Enright (Georgiou & Bews)
MIDS: Ablet, pendlebury, Selwood, JPK, cotchin, StevieJ, Swan, McVeigh (M Crouch & Arcres)
RUC: Sandi, SMartin (Archie &King)
FWD: Dangerfield, Martin, PAV, Cloke, Buddy, Petrie (Impey & Shenton)
11 trades left, only $19k in bank.
Ranked in top 7k and doing nice in all leagues.
I have a forward line full of Key position forwards, seems to be working for now, but…
was thinking of following trades:
Impey >>> Ben Brown
Suckling >>> Fyfe or Beams (swing McVeigh to DEF)
Suckling to fyfe, everybody else has beams and it looks like you've missed the boat
Hold on Ben brown, give him another week to see how he goes
Maybe upgrade one if your ruck substitutes to someone more reliable than Martin
pass on beams, look at Fyfe, Priddis or Goddard
AHH Welcome STIFFY MARTIN for seclet prlayer
Donors Podcast: I have been a donor for a couple of years with my wisdom and had many thanks for it. I refuse to pay for footy information because I have always been able to back up my answers with stats. (On the fly) That is what I submitted in my thoughts and was obviously in the minority again. You can afford it okay pay for it but what information are you getting from it when we are at full premium and minimal trades left? Bottom Line. BAD time of the year to start paying for something that is too late. The first Podcast should have at least been free to get people that can afford it to cough up. No disrespect Jock but I will not pay when I have contributed with my time and Wisdom. I know other people are in the same boat as me, They are unemployed and I am a pensioner I don't want free access to whatever you have in mind but it is absolutely bad timing in my opinion and you are dividing the Precious COMMUNITY In my opinion. (The Internet is a place for free INFORMATION)
Cheers Son.
Understand your thoughts Old Ocker – flick me an email and more than happy to get you access son. The unfortunate bottom line old digger is ads dont bring in much $ at all, it costs a lot of cash to pay for high traffic servers, and no money and no community. Sad but true mate

Hey Guys. Sitting 9th in league and playing 7th. He averages the same as me.
I got 7 trades and 346k. Opinions please
Def.
Mc V..Swallow…Burgoyne…Suck…Hanley…Enright..(Langdon, Cutler)
Mid.
Gaz…Ward…Jelwood…D.Beams…Danger…Fyfe…Cotch…Polec…
(Shenton, Hartung)
Ruc
Sandi…Zac Smith…(Thurlow, King)
Fwd
Dusty…Pav…Zorko…Buddy…L.Taylor…B.Brown…(Fasolo, C.Cameron)
Thinking of Fasolo out, Danger to Fwd, B.Brown F7, Pendles in.
T/U Fasolo out, Pendles in
T/D Don't move
Opinions on something else please
Hi Danny, Looks like you have problems mate.
Just an Opinion but I would be looking at trading Fasolo > L Parker. and J Polec > R Sloane. Or his price range. This will leave you with $16,200 in bank but you still have Shenton Taylor Langdon to use as upgrades to strengthen your midfield and forwards later, Or backs if need be.
Midfield seems weak but look to put Brown in ruck emergency if Cameron plays.
If you are sitting 9th and need to be in finals you have to make a move now. You maybe able to get pendles or someone else next week. Post again after this week and let us know how you get on. We are always trying to help.
Just an Opinion
Cheers bloke and good luck.
I'd leave polec this week if able. only has a be of 70. easily achievable by him.
Whereas Langdon will bleed some cash if he's named. Which he may not.
But my main focus would be on getting in another fwd so your move of swing danger down and grabbing pendles is quite sound
Need Some Help Community
Current Team,
Defence, Bartel, Suckling, Mcveigh, Hibbard, Walker, Langdon ( Bews, Aylett)
Mids, Ablett, Pendles, Boyd, Fyfe, Beams, Kenedy, Selwood, Miles ( Acres, K: Mitchell)
Rucks: Jacobs, Sandilands ( Currie, Thurlow)
Forwards, Gray, Parker, Martin, Danger, Roughead, Taylor, ( Shenton, Cameron)
35,000k in the Bank
Got a few idea what i can do?
Need your guidance community aswell
Jack
paint the fence. Langdon and K Mitchell – to a premo def and honeychurch (which opens swingset in your mid)
Fasolo to Bartel in mids, switching Dangerfield forward.
L Taylor to Motlop at F6. Lewis has played every game and will be rested.
Leaves you with 80 odd grand.
Forward line now has Buddy, D'Field, Zorko, Pav, Dusty, Motlop.
Bartel opens up swingsets with 5 defenders.
Chasing a League win only. Currently 5th but tough run home. 9 trades only 41K.
Have had sleepless nights over backline and lesser extent the fwds. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
McV, Swallow, Simpson, Hibberd, Langdon, LMac (BMartin, Georgiou)
Ablett, Pendle, Libba, Jelwood, Beams, Stevie J, Danger, Cotchin (Miles, O'Rourke (loop))
Minson, Sandi (Thurlow, Currie)
Boomer, Parker, Breust, Buddy, Zorko, Motlop (Stefan Martin, Cameron)
Thanking this fine community in advance.
Langdon is your issue. Could do a straight swap for jaensch or bob murphy?
Bob murthy is a turd waiting to retire to weribee. Steer clear like a Polywaffle in the local swimming pool.
Who’s bringing in Stevie j this week or next week. Surely he’s not getting much cheaper and has to explode soon?
And people worried about his game v freo in finals he still averages in the 90s against them
Stevie J just doesn't appear close to 100%. Bit like Cotchin, Griffen, Selwood, Swan, Montagna, Dangerfield etc. I won't be picking up anymore premos just on price alone. Had a full head of hair prior to this season.
Massive news Jock, I will be playing my first ever game for the Bulldogs this weekend, as will my good mate Sam Darley in defence. Get on board!!!
Great news Mitch – good luck son. Just dont lost your concentration on you fantasy footy
Would love to be in a position to take a nice chunk of entertainment out of this black label podbast- just like that madman Luis Suarez http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHhX11fOSJ0
But I will keep my ears propped for tonights podcast with eagerness.
Macrae or Polec? who do you think will score higher this week?
Great Podcast boys. I could really tell how relaxed you all were, it was like you knew you were talking to the elite of the fantasy world.
great value, less than a cup of coffee a month.
Thanks very much for your support Derek! Appreciate it mate
Firstly – Jock, Higgo, Crouching and Matty Mottram … frigg'n gold chaps! Cheers!
Secondly – Ryan 'Brokeback' Griffen … what to do? Any clue if this is one week or one month? I'm desperate to stuff a Def-Mid in my midfield (at the moment it's Hanley, but looking at Hodge and Burgoyne as alternates) as I have no 'swing-abiity' given all of my midfelders are 'Mid' or 'Mid/Fwd' only … I've got Bartel, McVeigh, D. Swallow, McDonald (yep), and Langdon all as Defenders. I'm tight on trades, so would rather not have to trade out Griffen at all, but a decent Mid-Def would sure be handy.
Hi Jock, I do a heap of travel with work in the car and your podcasts are the highlight of my week as part of my thanks i signed up to the donor cast tonight and listened, I love the giggles the characters and the advice. I have one question when the season finishes will they still take my money out of my account from October until March when there is no football.
Go saints
My one month no one have him no one talk him challenge selection is Curnow from cfc in 0.21% of teams averaging 100
