Jock Reynolds - The Father of FantasyHere’s my first revision of the 2014 rookie cheat sheet

A few additional young colts have impressed me over the past weeks and have forced themselves onto the consideration list, and one young Saint in particular has emerged as a stand out.

Top stuff Jock!

Tom.H · 02/02/2014 at 13:54

Great work Jock!
I have a question. How many rookies should there be in the midfield for round 1. I currently have 4, but with this cheat sheet i feel that i need to add a few more!

Samuel · 02/02/2014 at 14:17

Yes Jock,

Luke Dunstan will be a lock this year, he’ll play every game for us.

Saints need his type,

Him, savage and acres will strengthen our mids this year and we’ll have a strong midfield in years to come.

    jockreynolds · 02/02/2014 at 14:26

Agree made. Watched him this preseason – something special brewing

      'special' · 03/02/2014 at 13:28

      hahaha…

Davo · 02/02/2014 at 14:53

Starting with 14 rookies this year and my rule absolutely no one over 200 k

    Tom.H · 02/02/2014 at 17:46

    So no Jack Martin?

Damien · 02/02/2014 at 15:45

is there any info on Ben Ross, Alex Woodward and Mitch Hallahan, any chance of them getting a run in the Hawks seniors this season?

Give It A Go · 02/02/2014 at 16:07

Thanks Jock and the boys, into the second year, (can't wait) have gone over the rookie list and a lot of them have been in and out of my SC team through different version's, In my Def for R2 I can't decide weather to use Hodge, R Henderson or Malceski, also whats your thoughts on A Toovey, PS what do you think of 21year old Daniel Pearce of WBD as a rookie making it to R1.

Thanks Advice welcome

    SCannonymous · 02/02/2014 at 20:33

I think Toovey, given his experience, is in Collingwood's best 22. But he could get a couple of games in the VFL before being eased back. I note he didn't play in yesterday's intra club. I expect Williams to be given a chance to hold his spot in the backline and Toovey to replace Shaw after a few rounds, with possibly one of Clinton Young or Tony Armstrong (both of whom played well yesterday) to be given an early chance across half back. Seedsman is likely to miss a few early games with an injury and Adam Oxley could be out of action for about 6 weeks after injuring himself yesterday.

      Give It A Go · 02/02/2014 at 22:00

Thanks, was looking at Tooveys SC score last season, if in R1 would be good for more cash to upgrade later, was going to put him in D5, changed to Ryan Shaw

      Cheers Bud

Cezza93 · 02/02/2014 at 16:13

Quick Question Jock, not a lot of mention about old Xavier Ellis? Body no good still?

    jockreynolds · 02/02/2014 at 16:54

Yeah mate – suspect he'll be used as injury coverage… if he's not injured

Dools · 02/02/2014 at 16:34

Gold Jock , Rethinking Hickey as R3 with Nakervis as the new R3 pocket 200K and upgrade somewhere else Thanks mate…Looking forward to Podcast, I hope Wayno makes it to the studio for a decent chat!

Tom · 02/02/2014 at 16:36

Jock any thoughts on Jack Billings from the saints? Back into full training and listed as a FWD/MID

Dools · 02/02/2014 at 16:41

Done the swap old mate now I have 300 Plus K in the vault no love for Lennon in Fwds (Tigers) $162 K I think from what I have heard he is a walk up starter.

Kev · 02/02/2014 at 16:41

Quality as always Jock.
Thurlow a ruck/fwd mate.

Kev · 02/02/2014 at 16:44

Any word of Lennon from the Tiges or Clurey from Port?

    Matty · 02/02/2014 at 23:56

Odds slim for Clurey mate gonna be good but still young – they have older harder bodies as the 1 and 2 def spots that are ahead of him. At the moment.

Stevo · 02/02/2014 at 17:15

Thanks Jock,

Wondering if Xavier Richards will get a run this year? Only 123K?

    SCaddict · 02/02/2014 at 18:33

Wouldn't think so, at least early in the season unless there were a mountain of injuries.

Shaw, Johnson and LRT will all be pushing to return to that back line. Laidler is likely ahead of him too and Horse has also said he would like to trial Reid as a swingman in defence as well.

Dools · 02/02/2014 at 17:24

Nolt a blip on Clurey Kev but I read something in late Dec 13 on Lennon Ready to play was the bottom line and made it to the top 22 in a Hearld Sun article on the Tigs not as interchange but as a ready made half forward
So like you I need info on the lad as he is in my 22

    SCannonymous · 02/02/2014 at 20:57

If a key back goes down, I reckon Clurey is next in line. Went close at the end of last season, should debut this year.

BeaglieBoy · 02/02/2014 at 18:26

Clurey will be fighting out with Butcher for 2nd big guy in Ports attack….Butcher will probably be given first shot, but Clurey has bulked up and is pressing….but a big no as far as Supercoach goes

PowerPunchers · 02/02/2014 at 18:38

a question or two of my own…is Walker likely to play Rd1….Crows are usually very conservative….Crouch didn’t even get a go till about rd 8 did he?And…..any word on Broomhead from the pies….any chance to play?

    Callum · 02/02/2014 at 19:32

Word is round 2 at the moment but could change, and he will play some sanfl games before that so possibly a round 5 start in my opinion.

    SCannonymous · 02/02/2014 at 20:56

Broomhead is highly regarded at the Pies. He will get his chance at some stage during the season.
One to surprise in the practice match was Jonathon Marsh – speedy and dangerous up forward, playing on instinct, even if somewhat unpredictable and unorthodox.
I expect one of Armstrong and Clinton Young to occupy the half back line in round 1. (Seedsman and Toovey will add to that mix after a few rounds).

SCaddict · 02/02/2014 at 18:44

I think one fella who's flying under the radar beautifully right now is Jono O'Rourke.

The No. 2 pick from the 2012 draft had an injury interrupted season last year but there's obviously talent there.

Only question is can he force his way into the Giants 22 early in the season with all their latest high profile additions. For that we'll just have to wait for the NAB.

    Callum · 02/02/2014 at 19:31

You would have to think a no.2 draft pick would, he will certainly be in my team if he gets early games. GWS should still debut plenty of players this year like they have in previous years which means unless he nails down a spot early he will be in and out of their side a lot.

Pete · 02/02/2014 at 18:59

Nice work Jock, i have fitted in Impey as F8, thoughts?

    Callum · 02/02/2014 at 19:28

Yeah good idea I have too, lighting up at port apparently and expect a rd 1 debut

JB · 02/02/2014 at 19:54

Is the SuperCoach App available?

Liam · 02/02/2014 at 20:42

Would love to know how many rookies people are playing in their midfield at the moment. Right now I have 4 but strongly considering 5. At this stage I have C.Beams, J.Aish, L.Dunstan, J.O'Rourke. 2 Brisbane rookies too much?

    rhino · 02/02/2014 at 21:25

Depends Liam, I'm also considering this. How many rookies do you think you will start on the field this year?, I'm gussing you have got a strong backline and forward line, not as many good quality rookies in these positions.

Rayza Ray · 02/02/2014 at 21:32

Just a bit of mail coming out of SA fellas Riley Night of the Crows is being talked up a little some are saying could get a go early on. Wont start but could be a sneaky inclusion say round 6-7.

Disco Stu · 02/02/2014 at 21:41

Anyone have any thoughts on Bews from Geelong
Or Wearden from Brissy?

Give It A Go · 02/02/2014 at 22:04

Hi Community,

Just toying with this back line, whats your thoughts

Bartel, R Henderson, D Swallow, Suckling, Ryan Shaw, (D Pearce WBD, T Cutler and M Fuller)

Cheers Community

    Give It A Go · 02/02/2014 at 22:13

    Not Ryan But Rhyce Shaw

Eagling · 03/02/2014 at 00:05

Just trying to find somone to fit at M8 Jock; tossing up between Jack Martin, James Aish or Claye Beams. Which would you pick based solely on quality.

    Dee · 03/02/2014 at 21:15

    J. Martin….

Pieman1978 · 03/02/2014 at 12:38

I just listened to the john & jay interviews back to back. If encourage the community to do the same. The strategies the 2 great men have could hardly be any further apart. I’ll be backing John, he won it last year for a reason. I do have issues with Jays team. The most prevelant is that by the time he’s finished his corrective trades he might not have any left. The 200-350k market is fraught with danger & as John says you don’t need 8 spot fires. That could easily happen to Jay. Cheers guys

herb · 03/02/2014 at 13:43

Gold, absolute gold.
Thanks jock

Mark · 03/02/2014 at 16:14

From what I've been hearing Lewis Taylor has been with the rehab group all summer and probably isn't much of a chance of a Round 1 gig (probably not for the first half of the season either).

Cutler probably isn't a chance either.

Aish and Nicholas Robertson would be closer to Round 1 at this stage

@ryanmmurphy · 03/02/2014 at 17:32

Love your work Jock & community!
Only thing I can see is (as a Swans supporter) that the kid's name is actually Toby Nankervis, not Tony. Also, I don't know if he'll get much of a chance this year, given that we bought Tom Derickx, who has a more mature body. I don't have any inside word, it's just my thoughts at this stage.

Jimmy · 03/02/2014 at 22:06

Great work guys. What’s your opinion on Billings Jock?

Josh · 08/02/2014 at 12:46

My cosmetic doctor said that I would have no scars, I could resume my normal life right
after the procedure, and that Smart – Lipo actually encouraged
tissue tightening. The bottom line is that the cannulae, or the small thin instruments that liposuction requires, require very small incisions, usually about
3-5 millimeters in length. The procedure was initially faced
with criticism in the United States.

The choice of plants you are going to feature in the landscape is one important thing you

need to focus on. If you are growing fig trees for landscaping, then you need to use plenty of fertilizer.

Fill the trench back again up so that most of just about every brick is covered.
