Vince Gambino Fantasy Footy Punt Club Round 22
Yo fantasy footballers of this magnificent Jock Reynolds community!
As we head into the Preliminary Finals, a big bloody congratulations for any of youse that are kicking alive in your respective finals series. It’s been a tough year for many of us, Jock’s been raging all week (as you heard in the podcast) – so to lift the spirits I reckon we jump on the punt and try and put some dinner on the table.
SUPERCOACH HEAD TO HEAD MARKETS
Steele Sidebottom ($1.75) vs Luke Ball ($2.00)
Friday Night Footy to kick us off first. Reckon the Man of Steele Sidebottom is an absolute lock here community. The Sidebottom has caught fire over the past couple of months, averaging 116 SC points in his past five weeks. Bally has been a solid contributor for the Pies this year but he’s not really a gun fantasy footballer. Sidebottom’s average of 94 in his past three against WCE is comfortably better than Ball’s average of 81 and I’m expecting this trend to continue. Get on the Man of Steele here!
Scott Thompson ($1.75) vs Brad Crouch ($2.00)
What?! Brad Crouch at $2.00 outsider to beat Scotty Thompson? Reckon our friends at Sportsbet are being too kind to us at the moment. Thompson has been absolutely WOEFUL this year. He finally came good with 103 last week, however his this was his first SC ton since Round 15. Crouchy has averaged 99 in his last four games and is looking the goods here man. At $2.00 odds I reckon it’s just too good to resist here dudes, I’m on!
Jordan Lewis ($1.88) vs Grant Birchall ($1.88)
Birch is back baby! After a lengthy spell on the sidelines, he came out last week with 106 to show us all what sort of a fantasy footballer he can be when he’s on song. Lewis on the other hand has been solid but unspectacular this year. He’s the kind of player who you know what you’re gonna get from him – a score between 75-95. Birchall has a decent record against North and I’ve got a feeling he might be set loose this week after a very good return from injury last week – he’s only going to get better.
Charlie Dixon ($2.00) vs Harley Bennell ($1.75)
May not be at the best of odds, but I tell youse I reckon this is another straightforward one for us here. Harley Bennell has been carving it up for the Suns in the last month or so. Check out his last 3 scores – 123,122 and 142…ridiculous! He’s a bloody gun that boy Charlie Dixon, but he’s just a tad too inconsistent for me at the moment. After a couple of consecutive ton, he followed that with scores of 72 and 76. Bennell just has too many tricks for Dixon at the moment. So go on then Harley son, ride one home for the Punt Club here dude!
Matthew Boyd ($1.75) vs Robert Murphy ($2.00)
May have found a little value in Bob Murphy here fellas. At $2.00 I reckon he’s got some good potential here. How good’s Bobby’s last month been?! Scores of 147, 107, 90 and 103 make him hard to look past here. Boyd’s missed a fair bit of footy this year, and he’s struggled to get himself into form. Murphy is playing some of his best footy in a long time and I’m backing him to get the job done here.
As always, would love to hear who you’re backing this week community
