Supercoach ladies round special

More than a few of our premiums got right into the theme of ladies round this weekend.

Joel Selwood, JPK, Rockliff, Heath Shaw, Date Swan, Nic Nat, Bloody Duffield and Fyfe were a few that took things a little bit bloody literally for mine – and our Supercoach and Dreamteam scores have taken an absolute hiding this weekend.

Enjoy this week’s show – the pointy end draws nearer with every breath we take and now is the time when the men are separated from the boys (and the ladies are separated from the girls as well lets not forget that).

Remember to SUBSCRIBE ON iTUNES and while you’re there – give us a rating and a bit of a write up eh?

Hope you’re team is flying – lets get the discussion started about round 15.

    Great show jock, as always

    • Sidey says:

Great show again Jock…..but Hells Bells! update your bloody podcast feed on Sunday night! The website interface is a bit lame on mobiles and not everyone is an iSheep on iTunes.

Nothing worse than getting in the car on Monday morning and not being able to listen to the podcast.

  2. Great man !! says:

Who’s a good defence downgrade option?!

  3. Robert Paulson says:

Maybe I've watched Fight Club one too many times, but my theory is that Jock, Crouching and Higgo are all just characters made up by Wayno to relieve him of his chronic loneliness. Poor Wayno.

    • Peanutz says:

Wayno is the obvious mastermind. Like strop on The Paul Hogan Show. … But you probably don't know what I'm talking about.

Thanks Wayno. Another great show. Don't sell out too quickly.

  4. Heydon says:

    How is my team looking

Def: Goddard Shaw Gibbs Heppel Hartlett Enright(Staker Clisby

Mid: Ablett Pendels Swan JPK Cotchin Deledio Selwood Mitchell(Martin Hrovat

    Ruc: Natanui Kreuzer(Nichols Currie

Fwd: Cox Bartel Walker Martin Rockliff Franklin(Stringer Daniher

    Any trade suggestions

I have $ 220,334 in the bank and 4 trades left

    • Remy says:

    • Sleepy says:

Which Mitchell, Sam or Tom (doubt it would be Kane). Whichever one they both look the goods. Sam back in the midfield where he belongs against Brisbane and turned it on.

  5. trolollol says:

    who is date swan?

  6. Tyler says:

So guttered , was projected to get 2450 yet finished up with a weak 1956 ,
after Gibbs 120 , not ONE player of mine scored over 2 other players scored over 100 , and I had 20 premiums and 2 rookies on the ground .
    Selwood , Fyfe , Rockliff , Nic Nat , Zorko , Hanley , Deledio , Swan , Shaw , all failed , and cost me 2 losses and only won 1 .
    team looks like this :
    BK : Goddard , Shaw , Gibbs, Hartlett , Hanley , Clisby , ( Docherty,Thurlow)
    MID: Ablett , Pendlebury , Swan , Deledio , Swallow , J Selwood , Priddis , Fyfe (T.Mitchell , Hrvoat)
RK: Nic Nat , Maric (Nicholls,Currie)
FWD: Cox , Martin , Franklin, Rockliff , Zorko , Staker (B Kennedy , Daniher)
222k In the bank , only want to use 1 trade this week what should I do ?

  7. throttlefinger says:

Stuck between upgrading MID or FWD.

MID: Ablett, Griffen, Pendles, Swan, JPK, Delidio, Mundy and Mitchellson (Crouch and K. Martin)

FWD: Cox, Bartel, Walker, Zorko, Staker, B. Kennedy (Hitchcock, Curren)

Considering downgrading B. Kennedy for Daniher for cash.

Should I upgrade from Crouch to Barlow or Danger. Or upgrade Staker or Zorko to Dusty, Roughead or Rioli?

    Thoughts community?

    • Aaron says:

I’m going Crouch to Barlow myself mate, he’s a Supercoach scoring machine. I’d probably trade Martin to him instead if you can though.

      • Aaron says:

But it looks like you need a forward even more. Go the big Rough he’s on fire!

        • throttlefinger says:

Thanks. Would go Martin but don't have enough cash. Barlow is a machine. Hope the jaw surgery doesn't take him out of his groove. Leaning Rough…but no way he puts as big of numbers as Barlow and Danger.

    • Jordan says:

Barlow is flying at the moment and I don’t see too much reason not to get him other than he is 600k. If you can afford it it’s a great option.

Roughead is also playing really well and I would look to get him in.

      Hope that helped mate.

      • throttlefinger says:

It does. I'm leaning toward Barlow. Think bringing him in will cover Zorko's erratic play. Roughead has been a beast, though. Also consider Roughead and Aaron Edwards for Zorko and B. Kennedy, instead of Barlow and Daniher. Whadda think?

        • Jordan says:

Daniher will deffinately get you some cash and a good option on the bench when there is an injury. Barlow has the easy run home and could pull in some BIG scores.

Aaron Edwards is a good pod but their could be better choices. He would still score better than Zorko πŸ˜‰ but if you want roughead choose that.

If you could, can you get Barlow and roughead somehow?? If you can’t you will probably have to decide who you want more. I have Barlow in my team and he’s been great.

          • throttlefinger says:

No way to get Barlow and Roughead unless dumping Mundy or another $500K+ player.

            Thanks for your help, Jordan.

  8. Ian says:

    Great show guys.
    I’m losing my mind.
    Goodes, Duffield, Mundy and Shue!
    Lucky had some good emergencies.
Should I hold Crouch as an emergency or make some cash for my last premium?

  9. tension says:

Should I chop slow burn cash cow Dane Rampe this round Jock? Or wait another week or two? 6 trades left. Probably will upgrade to Cotchin, or Barlow/Pendles if I can afford. Cheers.

  10. Bod says:

Hi Jock and fellas, What do you all think about Robert Murphy from the dogs? Priced at 506k and averaging 98. Seems to be named in the best players every week and has been quite consistent with a few big scores recently. Is he an option?

    • Bill says:

His scores since coming back from injury have been amazing. Im definitely looking at him. Averaging 106 since coming back from injury in Round 7.

  11. Dee says:

G'day Jock and community…. Should I trade Hodge to Griffen and Priddis to Dangerfield this week? I have $430K in the bank… This trades will leave me with 32K in the kitty…. Should I consider doing these trades?? Thoughts would be appreciated… Thank you!

  12. Smittzzy says:

    FWD options?

    thinking Mcbean and Lamb?

  13. SMH says:

do i go with bartel or do i go with stokes… stokes is 50k less and everyone has bartel… stokes would be a good POD hmmm

    • Rick Grimes says:

Stokes is risky I reckon, but I've been thinking that all year and he's proved me wrong. I'd feel happier going into finals with Bartel in my forward line.

  14. Daniel says:

Hi guys my team looks like this
Def-Goddard, Gibbs, mckenzie, b.goodes, vlastuin, m.clisby (docherty, thurlow)
Mid-ablett, pendlebury, swan, Watson, Barlow, jpk, cotchin, priddis (t.mitchell, b.crouch)
    Ruck-Goldstein, kreuzer (blicavs, currie)
Forward-cox, bartel, jj Kennedy, rockliff,, staker (Mayes, daniher)
    Got $540000 in the bank
    What do I do?
    Advice be great thanks

    • Aaron says:

I'd look at treating Vlaustin to Hanley & Black to Naitanui

    • chandanrajdb says:

OUT: Vlastuin & A Black or Mayes
IN: H Shaw & Nic Nat… can actually wait for both of these premos, since they have got high BE at the same time Black and Vlastuin have high BE and will oose money…….its up to you make these trades or hold…….IMO do the trades…..

Other DEF Options you can consider are,
      1. Ibbotson – Looks like a consistent scorer ATM, but not sure if he can keep his output for the rest of the season…..
      2. Rob Murphy – has been averaging really well after his return from injury this season…..not a bad option…..
      3. Heppell – up & down, but not a bad option IMO…..
      4. Hanley – Risky, but Lions have got a easy run home from now on……might come back to start of the season form !!!……
      5. Hartlett – Too Risky IMO…and yes he is in my team……but i wish i didn't had him in my team!!!……

  15. Craig says:

    Good forward premium??

    • Rick Grimes says:

Petrie is capable of pulling some really big numbers. At worst he's gonna score a 70-80 as he gets enough touches even when things aren't flowing his way. You can't put the bank on him, but I reckon he's a nice POD.

  16. Merchie says:

    Thoughts on Kurt Tippett??

  17. Luke says:

Have enough money to upgrade Goodes to just about any premium defender. Who should I pick? Im also thinking of making a second downgrade trade but not sure who to downgrade and to which rookie.

    • Mungo Man says:

hold goodes as emergencie option look elswhere for downgrade options look to other rookies to upgrade possible, watch for yarran in a couple of weeks looked clean on the weekend and dominated at vfl level week before could be a good pick up coming into finals.

      • Luke says:

I have staker in defence and macaffer in the forward, otherwise I have no other rookies to trade. Desperate help right now

  18. Adam V says:

What do you guys think of Scott Thompson form North???

    • Aaron says:

Personally I don't like key position players, especially defenders there to inconsistent, but he has had an outstanding year and is a very good POD. I really like Hanley at 400k or even Hamish Hartlett is somewhat a POD now and reasonably priced.

    • I was watching him over the last few weeks. Has been very consistent on the whole. I went against my gut and took Duffield and Birchall over him in the last 3 weeks. Should have gone for Thomo. Might not be a bad move.

  19. Genco says:

Brought in watts for zorko. Thoughts?

    • Aaron says:

Unless you have no rookies on the field and a few trades up your sleeve than I wouldn't be trading Zorko, but if you can't help yourself then make it worth you while with an ultra premium because you would most likely find yourself in the same position with Watts.

      • Genco says:

Cheers Aaron. Just had a look at Brisbane's run home. Better than Melbourne's. Will hold trade.

  20. Jason says:

Jock, get rid of Zorko – yes or no? I've stuck with him but he is getting ridiculous. Soon he will dip below $400k.

  21. Aaron says:

Not sure weather to go Ben Kennedy to Mckenzie via Staker to complete defence, or Crouch to Barlow to complete my midfield?

I'm leaning towards the Mckenzie trade because of Tom Mitchell's output as my M8, but gee I bloody like Barlow! He reminds me of Swan under Malthouse, has the pill on a string.

    Thoughts appreciated.

  22. James says:

Thoughts on Griffen? Would add the perfect finish to my MIDs. I'll have to leave Goodes on field in DEF to conserve trades but the cash I have available means that its either this or two strong mid-pricers in both positions.

    • Aaron says:

Don't see how you can go wrong with Griffen he's absolutely flying! But I'm with Jock, I couldn't bring myself to bring him in at that price and being in such a weak side you'd think he'd get tired of busting his balls for no reward sooner or later. I personally like Barlow for 600k.

Or you could look at going Goodes to Hanley/Hartlett and look at an under priced mid like JP Kennedy or Trent Cotchin who looked good on the weekend.

I'd go the latter myself, especially if Goodes doesn't play this week.

      • footyinme says:

Mate need to think of what if, what if he only averages 105 – 110 pts for rest of season and you paid 670k for that.

  23. Heppell's BS score says:

Can anyone explain how Heppell went from 64 points to 104 points? I realise he kicked a goal with all of 1 second remaining in the game, but why on earth was that worth 40 points? Essendon was already up by 1 point so it wasn't the "winning kick." Furthermore, the game was over, it was physically impossible for WC to get the ball back into there forward line with mere seconds left. So rewarding Heppell with 40 points was ridiculous.

    • cotchandmurph says:

Dont no how but i was really happy

    • Bod says:

because instead of giving the weagles a chance of getting the ball down their end and scoring, Heppell was able to score a goal of his own and assure the win.

      • Heppell's BS score says:

Bod if that was actually the case then I wouldn’t be pointing this out. Heppell scored 40 points despite WC having not enough time for more then a single kick. His possession & resulting goal occured with no more then 5 secs remaining. The ball was well within Essendon’s forward 50. He should have received no more then 10 points for what amounted to a junk time goal.

        • Dondeal says:

Fair call. If anything Jobe should have got far more points for his big handball inside forward 50 that Heppell ran onto given that at the time of the handball Eagles arguably still had marginally more time to win ball and score.

          • Heppell's BS score says:

Watson went from being 106 or 107 with around 2 mins to go. He got 20 points for 2 possessions, that long handball you mentioned. Plus a tap on in the goal square to a teamate who scored a vital goal. Not sure of the breakdown of the 20 points though, but Watson was instrumental. Heppell on the orher, could have fallen over & it would not have mattered.

            • footyinme says:

Hibberd is far better player then Heppell!
Heppell dances around the pack waiting for anyone of his team mates to get the ball out then Heppell 90 percent of the time links up hand ball recieves. His scores this season is nothing more then glorified!

              • cotchandmurph says:

You have no idea wht your talking about

                • footyinme says:

Haha well consistent he maybe but does he get the big scores with all those disposals he gets? Answer is no and do you know why? because he gets cheap disposals like I said before or maybe you can't read that well.

                  • cotchandmurph says:

Well, I can read thanks, and actually if you were able to to go to a game, you would see otherwise, that he is a fantastic player and he wins his on ball

    • jas says:

100% correct..great post…those champion data guys are unrealistic with these massive scores late in the game

    • SCaddict says:

Did it cost you a league win or something? You seem pretty pissed about it.

  24. Josh says:

Who would be a good forward under $477,000, my forward line is Bartel, Riewoldt, Martin, Kennedy, Franklin and Black.

    • cotchandmurph says:

      • Nolz says:

Rockliff has been nothing but pain since I bought him 6 weeks ago… Tread carefully.

    • Azz05 says:

Luke Bruest at 400k, not many solid picks for that price unfortunately. If Rockliff can find some form he'd be good value but I probably wouldn't look to bring him in, some others that come to mind are Cloke, Hawkins, Westhoff.

      • Josh says:

What are your thoughts on westoff, he has found some form back and I will consider Luke Bruest. Thanks Azz05

        • Azz05 says:

I haven't seen to much of Port lately to be honest but he seems to be scoring pretty well and we all know he's potential to score big

    • chandanrajdb says:

Kurt Tippet……IMO is a very solid option…….didn't play for the half of the season because of suspension……and i think found some form…..and I don't think swans will rest or drop him for the rest of the season…..very good POD……consider strongly……..

  25. Robert says:

    how is roughy fantasy wise

  26. Tim says:

Hi guys how is my team looking:

B/ Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Shaw, Staker, clisby. Bench/ Thurlow, Webster

M/ Ablett, Swan, Pendlebury, Dangerfield, JPK, Selwood, Shuey, Mitchell. Bench/ B.goodes, Viney

R/ Nic nat, Goldstein. Bench/ Nicholls, Currie

F/ Bartel, Cox, Martin, Franklin, Rockliff, Zorko. Bench/ Macaffer, Rowe

I’ve got 7 trades left for the season with $270,000 in the bank

What should my trades be this week??

    • cotchandmurph says:

need to upgrade staker and trade out goodes, if he is stuck on your bench

    • Azz05 says:

I'd look to upgrade Thurlow to Hanley/Hartlett or a defender of your choice, I personally think those 2 are great value. Reason being I don't like the idea of Clisby on the ground. You need the back up on the bench to avoid donuts!

  27. James says:

Should i upgrade Travis Cloke to someone esle

  28. cotchandmurph says:

Is it ok to have 4 diffrent trios
    Collingwood: Pendels Swan Shaw
    Richmond: Cotchin Deledio Martin
    Carlton: Walker Gibbs Kreuzer
    Geelong: Selwood Bartel Enright.

    I also have
    Essendon: Goddard Heppell
    West Coast: Natanui Cox
    Sydney: Kennedy Mitchell
Is this to many combos or should i have had a more even spread

    • Tim says:

Nah I think having the trios works well plus all the players in your trios are premiums and they should provide with decent scores each week

  29. Azz05 says:

Would really appreciate everyone's thoughts on the best trades for my side this week.

    OUT: Ben Kennedy
    IN: Trent Mckenzie (via Staker)

    OUT: Crouch
    IN: Barlow

I'm leaning towards option 1 only because Tom Mitchell seems very solid as my M8 for now, and that would complete my defence. But bloody Barlow is a ball magnet!

    • Tim says:

I would do trade 1 but the second one is a great trade if Barlow is named this week

    • cotchandmurph says:

Yes i like those trades, as much as i love barlow i will not get him as i think he is to expensive and may still be injured, but i will get him next year.
      Maybe get

  30. @MRB37 says:

Interesting stuff about the trades, guys. I had 8 left and was panicking that I had used too many, too quickly. I've used 2 more to bring Goddard (after studying the Mad Irishmans articles) this week and so i'll have to hold for a bit now.

Here's a cheaper defender option for you guys to take a thought about. Brodie Smith from the Adelaide Crows. Last 3 scores of 94, 69 and 106. Was a guy I had my eyes on in the pre-season until he did his collarbone. Looked fantastic against the Suns and he'll have a few more opportunities down back with Reilly out. Costs 370K, so maybe one to consider if you're short of those Heppell, McKenzie 450K+ types. Think he's a solid option to average 85-90 for the rest of the year. Thoughts anyone?

  31. Gary says:

Im trading in Bob Murphy this week. Someone tell me Im not crazy. Has averaged 106 since returning from injury in Round 7.

    • Bod says:

I'm seriously considering old Bob, he is named in the bests every week and keeps scoring great. My only worry is that the dogs have had a pretty soft draw and in the next 6 after GWS next week they have Essendon, Hawthorn, WC, Sydney, Carlton and Adelaide. I think I may trade him in this week though because against North and Collingwood he scored 114 and 121, so I don't think he will have too much trouble keeping up his scoring but I think it might be a bit of a risk to pick him.

    • Azz05 says:

Always a risk with the old dogs Gary but they do say that fortune favours the brave

  32. Ian says:

Can anyone recommend which emergency I should play out of Crouch of Mitchell?

  33. Fraser says:

In a bit of a pickle.

Trading out Aaron Black and swinging Cox into the Fwd line. Have Nicholls on bench but questioning his ability if I have him as 2nd ruckman. Should I trade Black up to a Roughead or Minson or trade him down for some cash generation.

    What does everyone reckon?

  34. Bob says:

Who should I get for Brent McCaffer?

    Nic Nat or dean Cox

    • @MRB37 says:

Nic Nat has another high BE this week. Might wait 1 more and then bring him in. I'd have him over Cox at the moment.

  35. Max says:

Do you guys think I need to make any changes?

def: goddard, hanley, gibbs, mckenzie, staker, goodes (pittard, thurlow)

mid: ablett, watson, swan, kennedy, deledio, barlow, selwood, hodge (t mitchell, hill)

    ruc: cox, nicholls (rowe, grimley)

fwd: bartel, d martin, roughead, franklin, kennedy, natainui (daniher, lamb)

    • Jay says:

I would try to upgrade Pittard first before Staker and Goodes…..If you have cash then Pittard to Heppel is a no brainer…..If not enough cash, then Pittard -> Clisby, Goodes -> Heppel

  36. Smittzzy says:

    obviously if you've got the cash and trades;

    Goodes to Heppel
    Staker to shaw

    would be quite ideal

  37. Azz05 says:

Does anyone see an issue with downgrading Macaffer to Lamb to generate cash for my final upgrade next week, Crouch to Barlow. With Staker as my primary back up in the forward line. Would go the obvious Daniher but too expensive. Any other downgrade options would be appreciated.

  38. Adam V says:

Want to bring my final premium into my side but can't decide between.
Def: Hanley , S Thompson, Enright, Hartlett,
    I currently have
B: Shaw, Gibbs, Heppell, Hibberd, McKenzie Staker (Thurlow, Clisby)
Mid: Ablett, Pendles, Swan, Danger, Selwood, Fyfe, Deledio, Watson ( Mitchell, Colquhoun)
Ruc: Cox, Jacobs ( Nicholls, Currie)
For: Naitanui, Roughead, Franklin, J Kennedy, N Riewoldt, Rockliff (B Kennedy, Paparone)

    • chandanrajdb says:

Hanley and Hartlett – Both are risk but are cheap and know they can score big……either of them mate……IMO i'll go with Hanley, reason Brisbane lions draw is not too difficult from now on……

If you can afford…..I'll probably be looking at Goddard……..VERY consistent and not much of a headache……

S Thompson……I am not so sure in selecting a key position player in defence is a very good option…….

C Enright…..Proven performer…..and can expect 85 to 90 pts per game from here on and a very consistent performer…..will have bad game very rarely…..IMO not a bad selection at all…….

    • footyinme says:

    • Daniel says:

You don't even have Goddard! If you can he should be your first priority. Otherwise enright

  39. Luke says:

This is my team prior to round 15:

Remaining Salary Cap: $107,900 | Trades left: 10]

Goddard, Hartlett, Shaw, Gibbs, Goodes, Staker (Webster, Frost)

Ablett, Swan, Pendlebury, Priddis, Cotchin, Fyfe, Watson, Dangerfield (Mitchell, Hrovat)

    Naitnui, Minson (Nicholls, Currie)

Franklin, Cox, Kennedy, Martin, Rockliff, Macaffer (Daniher, Lee)

Im not sure whether to make 2 trades or 1. If I go for just the 1 trade this round, I am thinking of upgrading Goodes to a premium defender, but Im not sure which one. Please suggest the best choices for a premium defender. If I go for the 2 trades, I am thinking of downgrading someone (not sure who yet) to generate some cash, then upgrading a rookie of either Goodes, Staker or Macaffer as they are still in my forward and defence D6. Please give me suggestions. I am in desperate need.

    • chandanrajdb says:

      OUT: Goodes & MaCaffer
IN: Ibbotson & Clisby (By swinging Staker to FWD)….

Then next week you can upgrade Staker to some premium FWD…….

      • Luke says:

Thanks so much Raj! Help me nearly every week!

      • Jay says:

I might be tempted to go HepD over Ibbotson!

        • Morse says:

I agree, more consitent than Ibbo… And Heppel can break out on a day with massive score but doesn't have the low scores as regularly as ibbo.

  40. Jay says:

Got only 6 trades left, but pretty much at full premium – just considering Ben Kennedy's BE (75) and Shuey's BE (122) – considering the following trades…
    BK -> Clisby (Staker DPP)
    Shuey -> Griffen/Barlow (if selected)

Worth doing those trades this early or holding onto the trades for later part of the season?

    • chandanrajdb says:

IMO do the trades you have mentioned above mate…..and sit tight till the finals……barring injury of-course…….looks good to me……I think Barlow will be back this week as per the Ross Lyon's post match interview article on Herald Sun…….

      • Jay says:

Cheers mate! I'm hoping Barlow coming back as well…..he's been amazingly consistent all year, but Griffen's form is too good not to consider!! tough choice!! πŸ™‚

    • Morse says:

Don't trade Shuey, he is a gun and will ave 100 min for rest of year easily and with only 6 trades you can't afford to sideways trade, keep them for any emergency injuries for the remainder of the season and then finals.

  41. samuel says:

I DONT LIKE sideways trading at all but would it be worth trading in DANE SWAN for RYAN GRIFFIN?

    • Jay says:

Trading in Swan for Griffen? That doesn't sound right…..why would you trade out Griffen when is coming up against GWS next week and with a 5 week Ave of 140+ – the man is on fire!!!

      • samuel says:

sorry i meant getting griffin in and moving swan out?

        • Jay says:

Ah ok…..Umm, tough one – I don't like sideways as well, but if Buckley is adamant in playing Swan forward then his scores will definitely suffer – but I would hold this week at least….before the bye Swan went back to back 140+ with a 131 before – i think he is suffering a minor niggle and they are managing him through….I would hold for this week…..Swan will come good

          • samuel says:

well thats easy to understand now but i really want griffin i have the cash if i sideways trade with SWAN but i think ur right plus from the past griffin plays essendon next week and his average against them is only 78 lol. cheers for the advice mate

  42. chandanrajdb says:

    Hello community,

    Need your thoughts……..

Who would you go if you are choosing between Jobe Watson and Griffen???

    • Jay says:

I am also seriously considering Griffen this week – with a 5 week Ave of 140+ with GWS this week so should go BANG again…..but then Bombers, Hawks, WCE, Sydney to follow may see a slight drop in scores – at $670k he's pretty expensive, but of his 9 tons this year – only 2 below 120 and 4 of those above 140+ – the man is a SC beast!!

Watson has been good for me all year, but he's had 4 scores less than 100 and they've been in the 60's and 70's, but his upcoming draw is Port, Bulldogs, GWS and Hawks so bit easier than Griffen…

      I'm tempted to go Griffen!!

    • Luke says:

I had the same dilemma last week, instead I was choosing between Pendlebury and Griffen. I remember you advising me to go with Pendles because he is cheaper and Griffen was a bit too pricy. Scoring an odd 140, Griffen is even more expensive this week, but is playing GWS. If you have the cash, then go for Griffen, only if he is your last upgrade for the season. If you still have any rookies or non-premium players in any position left to upgrade, then go for Watson, just so that you can spare some cash for your next upgrade.

      • chandanrajdb says:

I remember telling you to go for Pendles last week mate……Pendles is worth evey $……Griffen not so sure about him…..he is currently in a red hot form but not a proven SUPER ELITE PREMO……is it really worth paying him $670k???….What if he drops his form????……very risky IMO…..

But at the same time Griffen is very tempting to jump on…..based on his average and recent SC scores…….Not so sure whether we have missed the boat and wont average the same for rest of the season……but has got a very easy run during the SC finals……..

Not so sure who to go for……and yes this will be my last upgrade……and my team will be set for the rest of the season and Just pray that no one gets injured or suspended……..will be left with 3 trades which will be used for any emergencies……..if required or will be used during the finals as required……i know I am running out of trades….but giving a good hot shot at the overall glory……ranked 663 overall ATM…….

    • CHRIS says:

    • Azz05 says:

Very hard to look past Griffen Raj, I took your advice last week and did not pick up Watson and have decided I won't be either. I'm all over Barlow mate, strongly consider.

      • chandanrajdb says:

        Barlow is in my team…..

        My Mids Currently…..

Gazza, Pendles, Swan, JPK, Barlow, Dangerfield, Fyfe, Tom Mitchell (Blicavs, K Martin)…

Thinking of Blicavs to Griffen or Watson???……

Watson 1 trade…..will be left with $67k in the bank….
Griffen 2 trades…..will be left with nearly $250k in the bank…..

IMO……it is always good to have some money in the bank if you need to some sideways trade during the finals time or if someone gets injured……what do you guys think…..????

Go for Watson and use 1 trade and save the trades or go for Griffen……????

        • Azz05 says:

If your thin on trades then go Watson. It's not Watson's scoring output that worries me its ASADA but if your confident then go for Watson.

        • Morse says:

Save the trades man, you never know what the SC Gods will serve up come finals time. theres going to b little diff in the scoring between Watson and Griffen from now on so to use 2 trades to gt same score as you would with watson is madness.

I totally agree with having $'s in the bank for finals but not at the cost of having enough trades for the rest of the year, it doesn't matter how much money you have left if you have no trades. But saying that, I worked on last year at least $200K in the bank throughout finals and it won me the coverted title in 4 of my 5 leagues..

    • Bruds says:

i just don't think you have much to loose with watson but if griffen puts up below 120 you would tend to be disappointed at $670k and if he goes below 100 you would be ripping your hair out

      • chandanrajdb says:

Thanks All for your valuable inputs above……..

OK I have decided to go with Jobe Watson and save these precious trades……

        Thank you,

    • Daniel says:

Griffen if you have the money

  43. Dazza says:

Appreciate any help. Team as follows

DEF; Goddard, Heppell, Hanley, Terlich, Vlastuin, Staker ( Webster, Clisby )
MID: GAJ, Pendles, Danger, Priddis, Lids, Omeara, Mitchell, Watson ( Goodes, Crouch )
RUC: Minson, Cox ( Nicholls, Currie )
FWD: Buddy, Dusty Martin, Rockliff, Roughy, JJ Kennedy, ( B Kennedy, Daniher )

10 trades left and $325k in the bank

    • Jay says:

Seeing as you've got O'Meara, Vlastuin and Goodes…..would be looking to upgrade Vlastuin and Goodes this week
      Vlastuin – Gibbs
      Goodes – Barlow/JPK/Swan

    • Morse says:

Spot on, totally agree with Jay.

  44. James says:

    Appreciate any help.

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Heppell, Ibbotson, McKenzie, Terlich (Thurlow, Staker)
MID: GAJ, Pendles, Swan, Dangerfield, Watson, Shuey, Fyfe, JPK (T.Mitchell, K.Martin)
RUC: Goldstein, Nic Nat (Nicholls, Currie)
FWD: Buddy, Dusty, Rockliff, Cox, Monfries, JJ Kennedy ( Oxley, B.Kennedy)

4 trades left. 34k in bank. Do i sit tight till finals?
Or do i free up cash next week to bring in bartel for monfries?

    • Jay says:

I would sit tight….4 trades only – need to account for teams resting players later in the year or any injuries….i would like to have 4 trades heading into finals…

    • samuel says:

HOLD till next week but keep and eye on shuey and Cox?

  45. Richo says:

i have 5 trades left. who should i get rid of… goodes or vlastuin
and who should i get in… hanley or hartlett??

    • samuel says:

      vlastuin OUT
Hartlett IN (hanley still struggling atm)

    • Morse says:

Hold Goodes, he will ave 90+ for rest of season, 5 trades not enough for rest of year + finals. You will need at least 4 (min) for finals and if you have some injuries or rested players for rest of year and need to trade to ensure the win then hold em.

Know when to Hold Em, know when to Fold Em…..

    • Chase says:

I agree with Morse, you need to keep those trades and Goodes will continue to perform, not as an ultra premium def but consitently good enough to warrant a spot in your starting team

  46. samuel says:

vlastuin needs to go and hartlett in cos he knows how to shake the tag now as he has just done on the weekend against collingwood

  47. samuel says:

should Brett Goodes be traded out?

    • Bruds says:

If he doesn't play this week he should be upgraded to one of goddard, gibbs, heppell, ibbotson or mckenzie if you don't have any of them

  48. Rotten Ronny says:

Anyone know what's going on with Shuey? Is he likely to be back this weekend?

  49. Tinks says:

HELP! Need to bring two defenders in over the next 2 weeks. 9 trades left and $248k in the bank. Back line is gibbs, goddard, duffield (??? hopefully he isn't out long-term), vlautsin, staker, blayne wilson, clisby, frost. Will get rid of vlautsin this week but for who? I'm not a fan of heppell so considering hibberd, enright, malceski or mckenzie, or any other options. I want to bring in shaw next week for staker once his price dips a bit. The rest of my team is set (once Stevie J comes back from his suspension!)

    • Bruds says:

Hey tinks, i would look at bringing in heppell for vlastuin this week as vlastuin has a very high breakeven and won't be consistent for the rest of the year. The duff man is not going to play so you will have to get rid of him as well for either mckenzie or ibbotson.

  50. Ian says:

Do we hold Shuey? I’ve been waiting for a good reason to get rid of him.

Does anyone think Gaff is worth a punt to generate some cash?

    • Bruds says:

Personally i had shuey and mundy, i had to punt shuey last week for pendles as i would have has to play two rookies. If he is back this week hold, otherwise look for an upgrade, there's no point looking at a mid pricer at this stage of the season unless gaff strings together 3/4 100+ scores that are extremely convincing.

  51. Luke says:

Heppel or Ibbotson? Really stuck between these two…

    • Bruds says:

Heppell should stay more consistent for the rest of the year and is that little bit cheaper but if your after a POD in your league ibbotson might be a good option especially with his finals run. Look at heppell first though!

  52. john d says:

    Hartlett or Heppel?

    • joe says:

heppel no doubt, so reliable and consistent

    • Birch's Buddy says:

    • Bruds says:

Heppell, the extra bucks will be worth it, i can't see port holding him from getting touches this week and he should hover around the 100 mark for the rest of the year!

  53. joe says:

    g'day community

is it worth holding monfries or trading and to who considering i would have
    485k ?

    • Bruds says:

I think hold and free up some cash for bartel, stevie j, nic nat, martin, walker to bring in next week or in a couple of weeks. Good luck joe!

  54. Ryan says:

    Hey all,

Trading out Black and Rockliff in my FWD, they are doing nothing for me and have massive breakevens.

With just over 1mil in cash, who should I bring in?

I was thinking Walters 'cause he is relatively cheap and should bounce back, however I'm not entirely sure, plus either Stevie J or Nic Nat?

If I bring in Stevie J it means Daniher would play this week while Stevie is out.

I already have Bartel, Stokes, Cloke.

    Any other options perhaps?

    • Bruds says:

hey ryan, i would look at martin or franklin this week and stevie j or nic nat if you can wait the week for the suspension and nic nat to come down in price.
I think you should boot black this week and hold on rockliff because he does have gold coast and hopefully can perform. Good luck!

    • Daniel says:

Wait a week and get Nick Nat, and wait till stevie J comes back and get him in. Probably also rather trade out cloke than rockliff

  55. Birch's Buddy says:

    Midfield looks like this:

Ablett, Swan, Pendlebury, Dangerfield, Cotchin, Boyd, Priddis, Titchell (Goodes, Hrovat)

Upgrading Goodes to anyone at Jobe's price or under. Was a certainty to come into my team before Higgo said he wouldn't trade him in.

Was thinking Jobe, JPK, Kornes and Montagna.

    • Bruds says:

definitely jobe over the other 3, he has richmond who he demolished last time they played in the sc grand final and he probably wont dip below this price again.

    • Daniel says:

Sam Mitchell or Kane Cornes could take the risk in getting J.Selwood

  56. Dee says:

I don't get how everyone keeps saying get Watson in!! That's a bad advice…. STAY AWAY FROM WATSON I RECKON!!! Very dangerous at the moment bringing him in considering with what's going on with his off field issues…. Would rather Griffen, Danger, Barlow or even Mundy.

  57. SMH says:

Who do i put on the field this week… Sidebottom or T.Mitchell…??

Sidebottom hasnt been in the best of form and sydney are playing melbourne this week so mitchell could be up for big points..

  58. Gilly says:

G'day community a struggling supercoach needs some assistance with his team which is

Backs, Gibbs, Goddard, Shaw, Duffield, McKenzie, Vlastuin, Goodes & Thurlow

Mids, Ablett, Dangerfield, J.Kennedy, Shuey, Deledio, Hanneberry, Barlow, T.Mitchell, Crouch & B.Hill

Rucks, Jacobs, Nic Nat, Nicholls & J.Witts

Fwds, Buddy, Roughie, Bartel, Rockcliff, Monfries, J.Kennedy (wc), Staker, B.Kennedy(coll)

I thought I was travelling ok till last week loosing Hurn and Birchell who I turned into Goddard and McKenzie.

    I have 13 trades left and 44k

Depending on how long Duffman is out for thinking this week

Vlastuin/Goodes to Clisby and then maybe

Hill out swing Vlastuin/Goodes to mids and Hartlett in.

Hoping to bring in Pendlebury but after last weeks carnage have had to put off for a few weeks while I generate some cash, which may mean just doing the first trade.

    Any thoughts????

    • Daniel says:

How could you have 13 trades left with a team like that?
      Vlastuin to Clisby
Shuey to Griffen/Pendlebury if you have 13 trades left.
Or you could do monfries/jacobs to cox

      • Gilly says:

        Thanks Daniel.

Until 2 weeks ago a good run with injuries, a bit of luck and a lot of help from the communities discussion on various topics. Got most of my rookie selections right.

Stuck fat with some early under performing premiums ie Danger, Roughie and Jacobs. Have been happy to cop the odd donut if I didn't like the trade options and I thought that I could beat who I was playing.

        Thanks again

  59. Pete says:

Hey community, looking to bring in my final premium defender thanks to Birchall πŸ™

I currently have Gibbs, Goddard, Hartlett, Hanley and MacKenzie. Who should I bring in out of:

    – Shaw (expensive, suspension-prone)
    – Ibbotson (good finals run, but who's to say Ross Lyon will change his role…)
    – Heppell (consistent, but not the best finals run for him)
    – Harry Taylor (able to pump out big scores, but also knocks out the low ones too)
    – Bob Murphy

  60. Zac says:

Community, the Birchall situation is one that has haunted many of us as of round 5. With his knee injury I'm left with no decision but to trade him out. I have $2,700 (peanuts) left in the bank. I already have Hanley. I'm looking for someone less than the value of Grant Birchall that would be a good sideways or downwards trade (will consider both). I can get in a player of any position due to dual position swings. Advice will be greatly appreciated.

  61. Hi guys,I know listing teams is a bit laborious but on paper I think I'm quite strong, except the bye's Ive only been below 2000 twice, but any advice is greatly appreciated as I'm a Supercoach virgin this year!

Def: Goddard, Heppell, Gibbs, Terlich, Goodes, McKenzie, Duffield, Thurlow.
Mid: Ablett, Danger, Kennedy, Selwood, Priddis, Boak, O'Meara, T.Mitchell, Shuey, J.Thomas.
Ruck: Leuey, Nic Nat, Nicholls, Rowe.
FWD: roughy, Buddy, Kennedy, Cloke, Zorko, Rockliffe, Daniher, Staker.

Only 5 trades left after some bum deals through the year. $114,200 left in the kitty. Thinking J.Thomas up to Sam Mitchell this week. Then sitting tight and only upgrade Staker/Thurlow/Daniher/Rowe if I can squeeze some more cash out of them.

    Thoughts folks?

  62. Dee says:

How long is the duffman out for?!

  63. Dee says:

What the hell happened to Tight Arse Tuesdays?!

  64. Josh says:

I have shuey, do I sideways trade to someone like cotchin as I have no money or do I waste a trade to get in clips by and get someone better than cotchin. I have 8 trades left

    • Josh says:

      Sorry Clisby

      • Jimbotraralgon says:

Clisby might be one of the last downgrade targets down back for the year. Grab him and pick up an elite mid. Clisby only needs to ne a backup option.

    • Gilly says:

Without knowing the balance of your team at $96 200 Clisby will provide a good cash injection, rookies worth trading in seem to dry up at this time of year so you need to grab them.

With Shuey depends how you are placed, I have him and will hold at this stage., but if you are chasing wins/points then he probably has to go.

Cotchin is a gun but must be still playing injured as he isn't scoring like one.

  65. Power says:

Ibbotson a good pick up this week or should I look elsewhere? Already have Shaw, Gibbs and Goddard.

    • Zac says:

Too expensive for mine at 512k. Ross Lyon also has a tendency too change players roles across that back line, hence why Ibbotson jumped from a score of 80 to 140 then back down to 80. Paul Duffield's return will only jeopardise Ibbotson's role in the team where in about 2-3 weeks we will see his score down to the 80-90 range. Having said that Ibbotson has played very well in the last 3 rounds and has one of the easiest finals runs of all teams. If you can bare the potential inconsistency and are willi to pay a premium, by all means, but I wouldn't look past blokes like Hibberd for around 50k less.

  66. Zac says:

Honest thoughts on Melbourne's young boy Mitchell Clisby as a potential downgrade from Birchall.

  67. JD_Cereal says:

Quick Question: I have Thurlow and Sierakowsi for my DEF benchmen, plus Staker up forward. Neither of those 2 have the greatest JS, and with the problematic nature of the defense this year I'm in need of some solid backup. My question is this: Can I put the emergency on Staker in the FWDs and if one of my backmen doesn't play have Staker's score count for him? This would save me a trade and be a massive help

    • Zac says:

Unfortunately you can't do that. However if you're making a trade, when you select the player you want to trade out, for example Thurlow – you then can sub Staker in to the back line and trade in a forward.

    • Guest says:

No, unfortunately it doesnt work like that. You should probably get in Clisby to generate cash

  68. udi says:

sorry mate it doesnt work like that. burn a trade and get clisby

how many trades have u got ?

  69. Power says:

Stevie J or Bartel a better pick up for finals? Money not an issue

    • Udi says:

      Stevie j

    • Gilly says:

It's the classic risk reward, I have had Jimmy from the start and you know you can lock in 90-110 points each week.

Stevie has a massive upside and loves playing at Simmonds stadium but is prone to having score of 75.

Stevie has only averaged over 100 once in his career but I guess he has spent a lot of time in the fwd line over that period.

Next week I am going to toss up between Stevie and Cox and it will be the same question, consistency or points.

  70. Zac says:

Stevie J is a high risk – high return player
At their current prices and BE's I'd go Bartel for consistency plus he's a very clutch player.

  71. ToneLoc says:

    Final midfielder…
Currently have Ablett, Pendles, Swan, JPK, Dangerfield, Watson and Danger…
    Who's the final one?
Looking at Griffen or Barlow… Or maybe someone else?
    Any thoughts thanks….

    • Daniel says:

Griffen if you can afford him

    • ShinbonerSpirit says:

Can't go past Griffen on current form. If price is an issue, Barlow is your next best bet. Montagna/Cornes/Prestia could be a decent PODs

  72. Mike says:

Defensive headache continues for me, I have Goddard, Heppell, Gibbs, Shaw, Duffield, Goodes, Thurlow, Clisby.
With Duffield and Thurlow OUT this week and Goodes most likely out it leaves me with a donut in the backline, what should i do? HELP

9 trades left with $199,700 in bank but i wanted to do Macaffer/Blicavs out for Bartel, McBean this week. Any suggestions much appreciated

    • Gilly says:

How is your midfield? can you trade a midfielder and put Goodes on your mid bench? Or can you swing Staker into backline?

Can you do the McBean trade to free up some cash to grab a Houli, McKenzie or Hanley?

You probably know Thurlow is out for 2-3 weeks with a fractured cheek which to me makes it unlikely he will play again this Supercoach season. I have him and I am showing him the door this week.

    • ShinbonerSpirit says:

Do you have a DEF/MID in your midfield, or Staker in your forward line?

Assuming you don't, I'd go Goodes straight up to McKenzie, and Blicavs to McBean. Macaffer to Bartel will have to wait it seems.

  73. Joel says:

I've got Mundy Barlow Vlastuin Thurlow Goodes and Maric

  74. Kerrigan says:

Thoughts on Michael Walters as F6? Good average, couple of low scores but generally gets between 80-100 looking at his stats. Great run home

    • ShinbonerSpirit says:

Would look elsewhere, especially with the impending return of Pavlich.

      SS (Birch's Buddy)

  75. cotchandmurph says:

I can bring in any ruck this week, who should i bring in

    • ShinbonerSpirit says:

Nic Nat, Minson, Cox, Leuenberger, Goldstein, Kreuzer in that order. Or wait a couple of weeks and snag Sandilands.

  76. Anth says:

Hmmm.. should I downgrade Rory Laird and keep Goodes on the bench seeing as though he's injured, or do I get rid of Goodes this week?
