Vince Gambino’s Fantasy Footy Punt Club – RD 11

Published by Jock on

gambino supercoach punting clubIt’s here punters. The bye rounds have arrived and there’s no escaping them.

I hope you’ve been tuning into the website this week as Jock and the boys have been providing us with valuable tips on how to safely navigate through these bloody byes man! In the meantime, the show rolls on for the Punt Club as we head on into Round 11.

SUPERCOACH HEAD TO HEAD

Dyson Heppell ($1.78) vs. Brock Mclean ($2.00)
Heppell for me here community, I’m not expecting him to smash old Brocky Mclean but I reckon he’s just got a bit too much class for Mclean. The key to Heppell’s Supercoach season this year has been consistency. Whilst he hasn’t necessarily been pumping out massive scores, he never flops and you know what you’re gonna get from him. On the contrary, check out Mclean’s previous games against Essendon. Not good man! Just an average of 66 Supercoach points against the Dons for Brock whilst the ever-reliable Heppell averages a tick under 90 against my Bluebaggers. Don’t go throwing the kitchen sink at Heppell here, but I’m quietly confident he’s got enough in him to get over the line against Brocky.

DREAM TEAM HEAD TO HEAD

Heath Shaw ($1.80) vs Harry O’Brien ($1.95)
Simply ignore Heater’s last start against Brisbane. He was coming off a couple weeks off after enjoying maybe one too many of my ice creams and was still a little bit rusty. I was watching him closely against Brisbane and he hardly got out of second gear in a game that was over after 10 minutes. Shaw is a proven DT premium who you can rely on. I respect the man Harry O but he’s no fantasy footballer. Sure, he’ll pull the odd blinder out of nowhere but in fantasy terms he’s only a bit-part player. Historically, he’s surprisingly poor against the Dees. He has an average of a meagre 54 against Melbourne and coming off a 44 in the Queens Birthday Clash last year. Heater Shaw didn’t play against the Dees last year but performs well enough against Melbourne to give me faith to back him in here. On Shaw here dudes!

Matt Stokes ($1.75) vs Mitch Duncan ($2.00)
Hasn’t the Stokes boy come of age this year? In previous years he’s hardly ever come into anyone’s fantasy calculations, but oh man, hasn’t he lifted this year?! His DT average is closely pushing 100 and I reckon he’s gonna have an absolute field day against those depleted Giants. Mitchy Duncan hasn’t been too bad himself this year but his numbers were seriously inflated last week after some big junk time points in Q4. Hopefully he doesn’t play that similar loose role in defence this week against the Giants and Stokesy can bang in a few goals to get another win for the punt club. Get on Stokes!

DREAMTEAM INDIVIDUAL PLAYER SCORES

Joel Selwood Over ($1.85)/Under ($1.85) 99.5 points
He may be a touch out of form at the moment, but don’t get me wrong, Joel Selwood is a premium fantasy footballer and I’m backing him to turn things around this week and ton up against the Giants. As I’ve mentioned previously, the Giants are at sea at the moment. Plenty of their kids are hanging for that bye round and in desperate need of a rest. Selwood is the kind of player who won’t wanna put in two sub-par games in a row. Just gotta hope he delivers the good for us here. OVERS!

Brent Stanton Over ($1.62)/Under ($2.20) 106.5 points
One word that my ice creams and Stanton’s current form have in common at the moment: irresistible. Seen the man’s scores recently? 149 against the premiers Sydney last week and 144 against a decent Richmond team. Think our friends have been a bit generous with the 106.5 pts on offer for us here. In 7 out of his 9 games this year, Stanton has scored more than 106.5 points. The two times he didn’t achieve 106.5 pts was once against GWS (when he got injured) and against Brisbane (Essendon played poorly, Stanton looked out of completely out of touch). Really can’t see much getting in the way of Stanton tonight. And of course, who can forget his MONSTER 175 DT points against the Blues last year. On the overs again here community.

There it is for this week everyone. Love to hear your own tips/feedback by sending me a tweet @Vince_Gambino or simply posting a comment below.

Peace man!

@Vince_Gambino

Few toughies this week isn't there Jock man? Only $10! Spending too much time with my main man Crimmo have ya?

Matt

I'm getting on the $2.50 for Swan in the DT Groups. Should be a certainty for a ton of possessions.. threats come from Pendles & Sidebottom but if previous encounters are anything to go by..

@Vince_Gambino

Agreed Matt. I was tempted to put it in the article myself but $2.50 isn't magnificent value with Pendles, Sidebottom etc. lurking. Still reckon Swanny will do enough

@MRB37

Thinking of dropping a gold coing on Richard Douglas at $8 on the Crows v Swans Round 3 Group 1. It's a tough group with Jack, Danger, Kennedy, Thompson, Sloane, O'Keefe and McVeigh in there, but Douglas has been in top form the past month or so.

Apart from that, I went with Vince's suggestions and took both Selwood and Stanton at overs.

@Vince_Gambino

Richy Douglas, is playing some good footy at the moment. $8 is good value too – always good to hear from ya Marc

george

cheers for the tips mate, i might drop in for an ice cream if u deliver the goods this week

dabman

scott selwood to top his group @ $4.50. had a stella season so far and won me the coin last week with a 135 score on the same bet!

Jett

Great article mate

Dylan

Is Sidebottom a valid trade in option? Im looking specifically at players with Rd 13 bye and if you take out two horrid scores of 40 he's averaging 120. Great POD. Dwyer – Sidebottom very tempting. An extra player on the field this week should get me the win as well.

Dee

G’day Vince…. Heppell 108 McLean 95, you got that one right. Stanton over 106.5 is wrong, as he scored a low 59. 1 out of 2 so far…. I’ll see how your picks go for the rest of the round before I seriously look at your tips next week and maybe have a punt! I reckon you’ll get below 50% this week with your tips… Although I’m with you there on Selwood getting a ton! Almost guaranteed…. Easy money!

Dee

136 for Selwood…. 3/4 so far mate! Not bad….

@Vince_Gambino

Yo Dee! Yeah man was always confident with Selwood. Unfortunately Stanton was tagged out of the game by Curnow, but Heppell and Stokes take us to 3-1 so far. come on!

Dee

Good on ya brother…. Mite have to follow your bets next week and chuck a few bucks on them! Will wait for your next article buddy…. All the best mate and gamble responsibly ey….

@Vince_Gambino

cheers bro! always good to hear from the valued members of the JR community. I *always* gamble responsibly 😉

@MRB37

Well, I've run 3 for 5 this week. Got Stanton and Richie Douglas wrong, won on Essendon (picked -39), Sydney (picked 39+) and Joel Selwood on +99.5 DT points. End up +$7.70 for the week.

dabman

Sellwood………..

dabman

also had O'keefe in groups (always plays well against adelaide), and i took your Heppel v Mclean and Shaw v Harry O tip so sucessfull week for me! cheers vinchenzo.

Hello there! This blog post couldn’t be written any better! Looking through this article reminds me of my previous roommate! He always kept talking about this. I will forward this information to him. Pretty sure he’s going to have a very good
read. Many thanks for sharing!

You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation
but I find this matter to be really something which I think I would
never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me.
I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of
it!

I’m not going to lie, it was a pretty long process (about 2 months) to hammer out the details, but I was able to
pull it off with a few bumps and bruises. For instance, some of the doors
will open by rolling up, while others will swing open like a door.

Generally, steel doors are more inexpensive than wooden doors.
Also, unlike steel, wood does not dent and, thus,
