SUPERCOACH HEAD TO HEAD
Dyson Heppell ($1.78) vs. Brock Mclean ($2.00)
Heppell for me here community, I’m not expecting him to smash old Brocky Mclean but I reckon he’s just got a bit too much class for Mclean. The key to Heppell’s Supercoach season this year has been consistency. Whilst he hasn’t necessarily been pumping out massive scores, he never flops and you know what you’re gonna get from him. On the contrary, check out Mclean’s previous games against Essendon. Not good man! Just an average of 66 Supercoach points against the Dons for Brock whilst the ever-reliable Heppell averages a tick under 90 against my Bluebaggers. Don’t go throwing the kitchen sink at Heppell here, but I’m quietly confident he’s got enough in him to get over the line against Brocky.
DREAM TEAM HEAD TO HEAD
Heath Shaw ($1.80) vs Harry O’Brien ($1.95)
Simply ignore Heater’s last start against Brisbane. He was coming off a couple weeks off after enjoying maybe one too many of my ice creams and was still a little bit rusty. I was watching him closely against Brisbane and he hardly got out of second gear in a game that was over after 10 minutes. Shaw is a proven DT premium who you can rely on. I respect the man Harry O but he’s no fantasy footballer. Sure, he’ll pull the odd blinder out of nowhere but in fantasy terms he’s only a bit-part player. Historically, he’s surprisingly poor against the Dees. He has an average of a meagre 54 against Melbourne and coming off a 44 in the Queens Birthday Clash last year. Heater Shaw didn’t play against the Dees last year but performs well enough against Melbourne to give me faith to back him in here. On Shaw here dudes!
Matt Stokes ($1.75) vs Mitch Duncan ($2.00)
Hasn’t the Stokes boy come of age this year? In previous years he’s hardly ever come into anyone’s fantasy calculations, but oh man, hasn’t he lifted this year?! His DT average is closely pushing 100 and I reckon he’s gonna have an absolute field day against those depleted Giants. Mitchy Duncan hasn’t been too bad himself this year but his numbers were seriously inflated last week after some big junk time points in Q4. Hopefully he doesn’t play that similar loose role in defence this week against the Giants and Stokesy can bang in a few goals to get another win for the punt club. Get on Stokes!
DREAMTEAM INDIVIDUAL PLAYER SCORES
Joel Selwood Over ($1.85)/Under ($1.85) 99.5 points
He may be a touch out of form at the moment, but don’t get me wrong, Joel Selwood is a premium fantasy footballer and I’m backing him to turn things around this week and ton up against the Giants. As I’ve mentioned previously, the Giants are at sea at the moment. Plenty of their kids are hanging for that bye round and in desperate need of a rest. Selwood is the kind of player who won’t wanna put in two sub-par games in a row. Just gotta hope he delivers the good for us here. OVERS!
Brent Stanton Over ($1.62)/Under ($2.20) 106.5 points
One word that my ice creams and Stanton’s current form have in common at the moment: irresistible. Seen the man’s scores recently? 149 against the premiers Sydney last week and 144 against a decent Richmond team. Think our friends have been a bit generous with the 106.5 pts on offer for us here. In 7 out of his 9 games this year, Stanton has scored more than 106.5 points. The two times he didn’t achieve 106.5 pts was once against GWS (when he got injured) and against Brisbane (Essendon played poorly, Stanton looked out of completely out of touch). Really can’t see much getting in the way of Stanton tonight. And of course, who can forget his MONSTER 175 DT points against the Blues last year. On the overs again here community.
