The Gambino Fantasy Footy Punt Club – round 6
Welcome once again punters to the Vince Gambino Punt Club. In amidst this injuries and suspension crisis that has struck our fantasy footy teams, I reckon we all need to relax, ignore the stress of assembling a team this week for a moment and win some cash on the punt thanks to sportsbet.com.au! Last week was a good week for the punt club – going 3-1 in tips meant I could shout all the boys an extra coffee down on Lygon St.
If you jump over to our great friends at sportsbet.com.au, along with the usual head-to-head battles you’ll see they’re also offering some markets on individual player’s over/under scores – found some great value in these ones dudes! I’m having a look at Dream Team this week. click here for all the markets
If you don’t have an account with the dudes at Sportsbet click here and they will match your first bet up to $150. That’s mad man.
Brent Stanton – Over ($1.85)/Under ($1.85) 122.5 points
It’s to no one’s great surprise that Essendon’s brilliant run of form has coincided with Brent Stanton playing some of the best footy of his career. His DT scores this year read 115, 114, 109, 130 and 142 – impressive numbers by anyone’s standards. And as good a player Stanton is, we all know he LOVES beating up on the lesser teams; and he won’t get many better opportunities to do that than this week when Essendon host GWS. My mail is that Toby Greene – who attempted to tag Ablett last week – will go to Watson leaving more space for Stanton. He should have an absolute field day. 122 points is obviously a lot, but I’m happy to take that on this week…jump on the OVER markets everybody!
Dane Swan – Over ($1.80)/Under ($1.90) 126.5 points
It’s never easy to back against the great D.Swan, but at $1.90 I’ll be having more than a little nibble on the UNDER market here. As we all know, Swanny’s a proven performer against all opposition – but 126 points is a lot and out of the last 13 encounters between St. Kilda and Collingwood, Swan has only got more than 126 points three times. For the sake of our bet, I’d love to see Clinton Jones go to Swan. Jones has successfully limited the point scoring to under/around 100 points of Jarryd McVeigh, Harley Bennell and Jobe Watson when he’s played on them this year; so if he gets the job on Swan it’ll definitely enhance our chances of landing this one!
Andrew Swallow – Over ($1.92)/Under ($1.77) 112.5 points
Won’t be telling youse this tip with 100% certainty but I’m liking Swallow to score OVER 112.5 points in this one. I reckon $1.92 is good value here and it’s got me licking my lips! Swallow averages 118 points at Blundstone Arena with two previous scores of 123 and 134 at this ground. I appreciate Port Adelaide are playing out of their skins at the moment but with no experience playing in Hobart I’ve got a sneaky feeling they could be in for a bit of a reality check from the Roo boys this week. My dough’s on the boy Swallow to crack 113 points…just.
Joel Selwood – Over ($1.70)/Under ($2.05) 105.5 points
Over, Over, Over! Selwood may have flopped against a resilient Nick Lower last week but his wonder game against Sydney two weeks ago remains large in the memory. Selwood was unbelievable that night, racking up 123 DT points. If he plays as half as well as that against the Tiges he’ll have absolutely no problem cracking the 106 point mark here. His record against Richmond is also good – in Selwood’s last three games against the Tigers he’s scored more than 105 DT points. When Selwood’s at his best he’s virtually unstoppable; taggers become irrelevant. This is a big game and we all know Selwood LOVES a big blockbuster at the G. Got good faith in Selwood to crack 106 points. Jump on!
