Jock Reynolds Fantasy Footy Podcast – pre round 3

Jock Reynolds Father of Fantasy podcast

Gather around my beloved fantasy footy community and take heed. The two trades that you make this week are two of the most critical that you will make all year.

Player prices will change after this week so now is the last chance you will get to snag a bargain before prices go through the bloody roof. It’s also your last chance to offload any bludgers before their price drops.

We look at the must haves this week and also at the blokes that we reckon need to be scrapped from your teams after another ball tearing round of the best game in the planet.

The strategy this week is simple my friends. You need to trade your ring off.

Would love to hear your stories from the weekend’s fantasy footy –

  1. Shannan says:

Just replaced Roughead with Mike Pyke and Jonathan Brown with Jimmy Bartel ! Should be scoring pretty high now 😛

    • Chris says:

Not to sure about that… Roughhead v mike pyke is a bit sideways I reckon.. How bout leunberger, get a bit more cash.. And I had had jimmy last year and for his price I felt like I got burnt a bit

    • koko says:

Watched The Rough closely last week and hes got the Mojo Back. With Bailey and Hale doing the ruck and using Rough as a sweeping Attacker, I think his score will remain around the 80 to 100 range for the few and then go crazy in rounds 8,9 10.Might pay to lose him now and bring him back later if you dont make many trades?. good luck

    • Dave Rudders says:

With all due respect Shannan in my humble opinion this is not a good trade. Roughead will average more than Pyke for the rest of the season…you can take that to the bank. I have a huge amount of respect for Pyke and what he has achieved but Roughead is beginning to work his way back into form. Just my opinion and I wish you the best of luck.

  2. Lachie says:

g'day Jock, pulled out a personal best, getting in the top 1000. Scored 2387.
What ya reckon on Jobe Watson, looking the goods!

  3. Ben says:

Hey jock this week I got 2307 backed up from last weeks 2400 I’m ranked 670. This is my 4th year in supercoach ur tips have really helped me cheers brother. This week in having trouble trading I’m thinking of downgrading duffield to pittard and trading karnezis to rockcliff this will also give me $200,000 is this a good move or should I look elsewhere. Thanks jock

    • SCaddict says:

Excellent effort Ben! You're putting many of us to shame.

Yes those are two very solid trades mate, especially with the way your team is scoring you obviously don't have many other problems to deal with.

    • jockreynolds says:

You bloody champ Ben! My hearty congratulations. To be honest I'm not completely sold on getting rid of the Duff man.. but having said that the switch of your cash into the FWD line to strengthen Karnezis to Rockliff looks a valid move…

  4. Danny Atkinson says:

Bennell gone, young libba is in….More points, more free cash

Zorko the bloody craptastic is out on his arse, neade is in – same average, frees up cash for later upgrades.

Bottom line is I have no room for non performers and I'm sure as buggery not going to drop 200k odd on two players after the price jumps. Still put up 2300 but could have been far better…bless your heart Jamie Elliott

    • EvilUmpire says:

Lib has been doing well agreed and could take off but faces richmond next week so might be limited?

Great podcast fellas. Ryder gone for nick reiwoldt who should kick a ton against gws i hope and karzenis to kennedy (WCE) against melb next who should also kick a ton. Don't have dwyer but see how i go.

      • Danny Atkinson says:

They'll put a hard tag on griffin and libbas a contested ball winner and tackling machine – hard to tag those players out of the game. Might not put up another 130 but won't be far off the pace. Either way he's a bloody damn site safer bet than bennell at this point who can't break a tag tomsave himself

  5. jeremey says:

234 this round mate! 519 overall got 2431 started the best going to be a big season for me!

  6. JJFYZZ says:

    1439 overall!! Very excited. 2361 week 1, 2301 week 2.

Thanks to Jock and the Team and the community for all the help, tips and advice.

Jock I'm sure the podcast will be a cracker as always. Will listen to it in the morning.

    • jockreynolds says:

You are very welcome mate and I am very proud of you son.

      • JJFYZZ says:

Thanks Jock. Had a listen this morning and as expected it was a cracker!!

Having a bit of a play at the moment. What do you think??
Trade 1) Ryder out Dwyer in. Dwyer may only be in a few weeks due to JS but want to generate some cash and his points till he’s upgraded.
Trade 2) Kane Mitchell out Cotchin in. 1st of the premium elite upgrades done

  7. SC Legend. says:

Worth keeping Karnesiz and what to do with Lecras?
Maybe a downgrade Karnesiz to Neade and Lecras to Rockcliff?

    • The Old Dylan says:

Dwyer could be worth a look too if you don’t already have him. Looked great today, and if jolly is out for a few it might improve his JS if Collingwood need to move a tall from the forward

      • Lachie says:

I'm guessing he already has him..

        • SC Legend. says:

Correct, already had Dwyer since round one so I'm a happy man.

Maybe just do a downgrade from Lecras to Neade, or is Kennedy or Monfries worth their money?

      • Sam says:

Ben Hudson will probably be coming in

    • Eagle Boiii says:

Lecca was just on the news here in WA, he said he wants to play against the Dees

    • jockreynolds says:

Yeah the latest is that Lecca will play this week or next.. reckon keeping him on the pine is the way to go this week. And yep – Karney to NEade looks the goods

  8. Tom says:

    Thoughts on Kane Cornes people?

    • James says:

No mate. Kane Cornes isn't as much value as say a murphy, or a Sam Mitchell or even the players around the 600,000+ mark if you have enough cash.

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Don't Forget he has played Melbourne and GWS In the opening rounds… Perhaps the reason for his big scores.

    • munnyman says:

Lets not forget kornes was a scoring machine and on the must have list until primus took over

  9. Jon says:

I've traded bennell for crouch and currie for leunberger, team is shaping up nicely.

  10. @maxwills13 says:

Went Karnezis to Dwyer and M.Murphy to Watson.
Hoping to snag Leuenberger next week with 208k in the bank currie to make way. Then put cox in fwd line for Rowe. 90+ and Leuwy is straight in!

    • Chris says:

Yeah that's exactly what I'm doing! I've got mummy and Jacobs as main ruck, then Rowe and currie with coz in the fwd line, then I'm happy with my rucks and won't change them all year as of they get injured the replacements are adequate!

    • Lachie says:

Murphy to Watson looks pretty pointless. I'd consider keeping him and upgrading a rookie to Watson later on.

  11. Marc says:

Great stuff guys, certainly needed all the help I can get after a terrible Rd 2!

Biggest problem is now Taylor Walker. He is getting mauled out there, but the forward line is so bloody thin after 2 rounds out there I'd just feel like I'm chasing scores which is never a good tactic. People say Bartel, but his big scores were situational (goals to win games always big point winners). Only real move I can think of is the one Higgo mentioned with trading him for down to Dwyer and then go from there. Makes me sad though, my head told me not to go with Tex, but I love the guy, so I put him in my team. There's a lesson there for all you SuperCoach youngsters out there.

Agree somewhat between Jock and CrouchingOne regarding Port Adelaide. Reckon they'll be the 9-11 range, just a game or two out of the 8. They've beaten Melbourne and GWS, nothing to be beating your chest about there. Definitely improved from last year though and I'd rate them a serious chance to beat Adelaide next week.

    • jockreynolds says:

Mate.. let's just say that Crouching is a very short priced favourite to reveal his rig up here on the site later in the year!! Good luck with correcting Tex Walker mate

  12. Matt says:

    Karnezis > Dwyer
Robinson > Bartel (Robbo loses 50k next week has BE of 182)
    Yes or No?

    • SCaddict says:

Karny to Dwyer sounds solid but I would leave Robbo where he is. It's mainly because he was knocked out in Rd 1 that he has a massive BE.

The main reason JimmyB exploded was because he kicked the winning goal but he can have his quiet weeks as well that may leave you scratching your head in coming weeks.

Virtually every coach will have a few players that will drop in value. It's the nature of the caper so don't get too concerned by that. More important are the reasons why for any decline in value.

If you posted your team I reckon I could offer a few alternative trade suggestions as surely Robbo to Bartel wouldn't be your second best move after two rounds??

      • Matt says:

I get what you're say about Robbo just see the 50k drop as alot that could be spent on a more stable player( he'll get KO'd a few more times before the end of season).
        My Team is as follows:
Backs: Gibbs, Goddard, Goodes, Hibberd, Atley, Pittard (Stevenson, Terlich)
Mids: Ablett, JPK, Danger, Heppell, Fyfe, Viney, WInes Crouch (O'Meara, Hill)
Forwards: Buddy, JJK, Robbo, Martin, Varcoe, Karny. (Macaffer, Neade)

Would like to strengthen my fwd line for now as cant really do much in the middle until the cows fatten. Varcoe has more of a chance to make his BE whereas Karny… well who knows….

        Your thoughts are appreciated.

        • Matt says:

          left out the rucks.
          Cox, Mcevoy (Blicavs Currie)

          • SCaddict says:

Gotta say your team is looking in very decent shape there mate. So perhaps moving on Robbo wouldn't be such a bad idea.

But have you perhaps considered Rocky? The Lions have a very favourable draw over the next 3 weeks including GCS and the Dees.

I guess Danger Zone is the other one to look at who is expected to have a similar price drop. Watson, S.Mitchell and A.Swallow all look very cherry ripe right now or even a downgrade to Parker or Moloney to generate a bucket load of coin for upgrades over the coming weeks.

However I'd say Robbo to Rocky would be the move I'd recommend the most.

            • Matt says:

Damn Mitchell is cheap! Fun and games for the week it looks like. Cheers for the input.

  13. Jack says:

what to do with j toumpas…, projected to go down in price, thinking upgrading him to boak/corns/liberatore?, already got viney, wines, omera and crouch as mid rookies. also trading karnezis down to dwyer to free up cash

    • @MRB37 says:

Sounds like a good move. Reckon Boak or Libba would be your best two bets out of those 3.

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Yeah OUCH over Toumpas, could be the first I've ever seen to go down in price over the first price rise…

  14. Fabian says:

Easy decision is OUT Carnagezis and Newman
Hard decision is who to bring IN.

Rookie DEF in heath and a prem FWD in rockliff/bartel
Rookie FWD in Dwyer/Neade and a Prem DEF in Shaw, Waters

But Hanley and Dixon as mid prices do look very tempting

Will be a long week of contemplating

    • Lachie says:

If you don't have Rockliff you must get him. Everyone should also have Dwyer or Neade so I'm wondering what you have done with your team.

  15. SCaddict says:

Higgo you're normally spot on with your stats but you've got yourself a little confused on this occasion with Berger's value. He's actually $234K in DT no SC. In SC he's actually $301K.

Also whilst we are at it I'm not sure where you got your BE for Dusty. It's only 99 which is very gettable so you're quite right he's a definite keeper especially against the Doggies this week.

    • @pluggers_guts says:

G'day m8. Any idea of L Plowman's BE? I can't find it anywhere. Need to fix it up. He's stinking up my bench, but I've also to Gwilt out injured, so trying to sus out which one to downgrade for Brown from Adelaide. Cheers!

      • SCaddict says:

Yeah sure mate Plowman's BE this weekend is only 25 which should be very easily attainable assuming he plays and is not vested which is unlikely for a key defender I would've thought.

Still it's certainly worth considering a sideways trade to a lock Port defender or Brown from Adelaide as you mentioned and freeing up a little bit of cash.

Btw can't you just click on his name in your team line-up to get this info? I've had Supercoach gold for a few years now but thought you could still get all the basic info like BEs for free by just clicking on the dude's name??

If not I reckon it's worth getting a gold subscription for only $20 for the entire year as it's essential for anyone who loves fantasy footy.

        • @pluggers_guts says:

Thanks for getting back to me. I had to get SC Gold to get that info, but glad you let me know with lots of valuable info there. I've already got Pittard & Stevenson, and I reckon Brown from ADE has got the job security over Heath from PA. Would you suggest downgrading to Brown from Gwilt, or from Plowman. I'm leaning towards leaving Plowman on the bench for a bit while his price increases and freeing up some cash with Gwilt in the meantime considering he's out for a while yet. I've got the same issue with the Frenchman and Karnezis in my fwd line. Thoughts? I'm pretty happy with the way it's going so far with a solid score of 2391 ranking me at 820 for round 2, 3483 overall. Cheers m8 for your help.

  16. EPR says:

Sammy Dwyer… I really want to bring him in (for Ryder) because i want in on that 80k price rise, but will he be a regular fixture in the side or will he have to make way for the likes of Thomas when they return? Am i better off switching to a Rockliff instead?

  17. Luke says:

Would you keep Daniher from the Bombers? He hasn't played yet, but he keeps being among the best on ground in the reserves. Should I get rid of him or keep him?

    • Danny Atkinson says:

They're gonna nurse the big fella through this year, he may get games here and there but I'd be stunned if played even half the season- especially given the teams strength at the moment. That said if touchy stu crameri is injured he may get a run in the next couple of weeks. I'd trade him outnif you don't have cover.

    • Matt says:

Bombers will ease him into the season. Injury dependent after the byes rounds you could see him come in.

    • Lachie says:

I'd use him for a rookie trade in later in the season before his 3rd game mate.

  18. Chris says:

What to do with vlastuin? Is he going to get a game soon

    • SCaddict says:

I would convert him to one of the Port lock rookies (or perhaps Terlich) especially if he is not named again this weekend.

Petterd who is ahead of him performed nicely last Friday and should retain his spot in the team. Even if V gets a guernsey on the bench I reckon he's a strong candidate for the green vest as Ellis who was vested in Rd 2 would probably get the starting nod over him too.

He will no doubt prove be a good player for the Tiges during the course of the season but don't believe he offers the best value to Supercoaches at this point in time.

      • Gamble says:

Dude I ditched the Vlaustinator and went for Pittard this week. He's gonna jump up a fair whack after this round and the big V ain't going no where fast. In the next month Port have 3 tough fixtures and GC so I'm hoping there will be a fair bit of work for their backline to do. Plus we know that Pitts is going to be a higher value than Vlaustin until he's chalked up 3 starts, at which time you can trade Pittard for him and turn a crappy mid fielder into Watson. BAM, and the dirt is gone!

    • Stan says:

Reckon he wil get more red jumper time than full game time

  19. Patch says:

I think Zorko the Magnificent hasn't been quite so magnificent. Trade him out and then have him become an upgrade target between rounds 6-8?

    • Lachie says:

No. You must think of a long term selection for your team. Wasting a trade to bring the same player in the future is quite pointless. I'd only consider trading to Rockliff if you don't have him.

      • SCaddict says:

Yes I pretty much agree Lachie. You really don't want to be burning trades on the same guy just to save a little bit of cash. Trades are generally too valuable for such purposes.

For all we know Zorko might have a blinder against GCS this week and get close to to his lofty BE.

  20. jimbotraralgon says:

    Another great call guys.

Early doors but looking at one trade karny to Rowe. With Dyer and neade playing well its worth the punt.

If gray is selected will also consider varcoe to gray but probably give gray a week first.

Will stick fat with danger and zorko, especially zorko as no other forward has really put their hand up yet at the top end.

  21. Jake says:

what do i do about bloody sam kerridge from the crows and karnezis??

  22. Tim says:

Need to get rid of Roughie; Bailey has really hurt his scoring. Also need to offload the injured Gwilt. I have cover for him but would rather not rely on yet another backline rookie.

Looking at going Roughie to Leuenberger and Gwilt to Hanley. Will leave me with an extra 100k in the bank, as well.

The other option is Roughie to Goldstein, and then Gwilt to Hibberd or a similar price player. Safer ruck option, but not as good for the backline.

    • SCaddict says:

I prefer the first option Tim especially if you have most of the lock rookies already.

  23. TheTurtleman says:

    Roughhead out for JJ Kennedy
    Walker out for Luenberger
I have burnt 4 trades but have $900K in bank
I have Omeara, Vines, Wines, Dwyer, Viney, Crouch, Blicavs, Pittard, Stevenson, Goodes, & Rowe for cash generation

  24. BPP says:

Didn't use any trades in round 1 why would i with 2410 HAHA, but 2180 got me a little disappointed this round. Should I trade out Macaffer for Dwyer, and Matt Jones for Crouch? Also, a little down on Jack Steven but probably going to keep him in for a while longer, hoping he'll really breakout. Thought?

    • Justin says:

Crouch only played 1 game so wait.

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Yeah you can wait on Crouch because his price will be changing in round 4.

    • Spifflicator says:

Jones is one of the best scoring rookies, so to trade him to Couch is a bad sideways trade, assuming he plays this week.

McCaffer to Dwyer I am also unsure about as the issue of Dwyers job security remains problematic, yes he will go up $80k IF he gets picked, but McCaff also goes up around $20-40k as well. Do you have any spuds to trade out?

      • Saltysalts says:

Stevens had 'hamstring tightness' in round one, round two he was vested possibly in precaution from round one, BUT when he came on apparently he dominated.

I'm going to be keeping him, but anyone you can downtrade to Dwyer to generate cash like a varcoe?

        I smell another 2012 Zorko in Dwyer…

  25. Monty says:

What is the mathematical formula for BE higgo?

  26. Ben says:

    Monfries, Moloney or Parker????

    • Justin says:

Moloney has the best opponents next few rounds.

    • John says:

Moloney may have better opponents for scoring but Parker is the best player of the lot. Lots of tackles and contested posessions. Have been on Parker for a while, and is ready to become the 2013 Dangerfield.

  27. Tim says:

    So fardone 4 trades

    Shuey to Wines

Jabobs to Luke Brown (pod rookie 130k 97 points)

    Hale to Leunberger

Karnezis to Dwyer 943 k left

    Ranked 8,000

  28. Justin says:

Pure GOLD Jock if podcasting has ever been better, I've never heard it.

Trading down to a couple of rookies that slipped through my net earlier, banking cash and ready to storm.

  29. SCaddict says:

Finally got rid of two problem children in Roughy and Rich and in comes Dwyer and Moloney which frees up nearly $600K. Good riddance you fellas are now someone else's problem!

Zorko gets a reprieve of one more week to beat up on GCS and prove his worth but if still can't get the job done then in will come Leuey and another $200K to the war chest.

Looking forward to picking up Pav and Buddy in the bargain bin in the next 3 or 4 weeks so gee it would be lovely if they had a couple more quietish weeks between now and then. 🙂

This will then leave Karny as the only sore spot left on my team but hopefully he can hold his value until either Pav or Buddy becomes cherry ripe and then it will be sayonara sunshine.

    • Carl says:

      Trading Rough ahead of Karnezis?

Is that due to Roughs BE? What is it?

      • SCaddict says:

Yes his value drop is a consideration probably at least $40K in just one week by the looks. But the main factor leading to this decision is that I've seen enough to indicate that Bailey's inclusion each week is really hurting Roughy's scores as he barely gets any ruck time any more.

He actually had a pretty good game for a forward on the weekend but even then could only manage 89pts, well shy of the 105 average he needs to generate to justify the $550K investment. He may prove me wrong of course but it's a move I feel compelled to make before more damage is done.

Karny has been horrid too but was affected by the vest so prepared to give him one last go. If he doesn't perform ok he will be traded out next week for Leuey.

    • bridgman35 says:

I feel like you should give Rich another week, he's got GCS, North, then Melbourne coming up. Could easily av. for 120 over the 3 games.

      • SCaddict says:

I had a choice of keeping Zorko or Rich for one more week and I'm choosing to give Zorko one more go. It's a tough call I know and will just have to see what happens on the weekend.

It seems that Rich starring in the NAB campaign has put the target on his back even more than usual. So I expect oppositions to continue this trend at making it their number 1 priority to shut him down as the strategy has delivered the Lions no wins thus far.

So I'll let Moloney take advantage of the favourable Lions draw you mentioned instead as his value is certain to rise markedly and it's all about producing a decent stepping stone to another elite mid anyway.

I believe it's a move Higgo supports as well if you've heard last night's podcast and I agree with him on this one.

    • Dean says:

I'm in the same situation regarding ROUGHEAD, I have not made any trades yet but I will make 2 trades this week. So far I have only scored 2166 & 2091
My ROOKIES so far are: DEFENCE: L Stevenson, B Goodes, J Pittard, D Terlich
      MIDFIELD: O Wines, J O'Meara, J Viney, N Kommer
      RUCK: M Blicavas, S Rowe, D Currie
      FORWARD: J Neade, B Macaffer

I am wanting to trade out: LeCras and bring in Kennedy and also trade out Roughead and bring in Dwyer. This will give me $538,100 in the bank.

If I do those 2 trades as mentioned above, my team as a whole would then be:
      +$538,100 in the bank

My thinking is then, after round 4 is completed I can trade out KOMMER for CROUCH and can consider trading out CURRIE for LEUENBERGER
This will still leave me with approximately $370,000 in the bank depending how much KOMMER goes up in value.

I can then use J JENKINS as a DPP FORWARD/RUCK and then look at upgrading to better players between rounds 6 to 9

My only real concern is would I be better off trading out ROUGHEAD for someone like MONFRIES or even someone like BARTELL.
If I chose to get BARTELL or someone around that price range will only leave me with about $100,000 and if I took the chance to bring in MONFRIES for ROUGHEAD that would leave me with around $270,000 in my bank.

Your advice would be HUGELY appreciated. Good Luck to ALL.

      • SCaddict says:

I would trade Roughy for Dwyer unless if Dwyer isn't named in which case it's probably worth going Monfries. Generally the more cash you have spare over the next 2 or 3 weeks the better I reckon.

I have over $700K in the war chest now and could increase to over $900K next week depending on whether Zorko performs or not.

I expect to start upgrading to premiums by as early as Rd 5 or 6.

  30. Cold Pies says:

how far away is stevie j…he seems to be a forgotton premo

  31. Dylan says:

Hi Jock what should I do with Callan Ward from GWS. Averaging 90 with a breakeven of 153, and has got in the next 3 weeks St.Kilda, Melbourne and Gold Coast. Should I trade or stick with him? Scored 2405 with him as captain also.

  32. Chris says:

My dilemmas that i needhelp with

What should I do if I have a rookie who is not playing and doesn't exactly look like playing? Eg currie, Tom lee (also vlastuin but ill hold him for a while)

Ruckmen: so I have sauce Jacobs and mummy, I also have cox in the forward line to swap with Rowe if one of those 2 ruckmen gets injured.. Should I worry about making a trade such as this or old it be pointless.

Out zorko and varcoe: in Dwyer and someone like fyfe, thus freeing up enough cash to snag leunberger next week or is it just a waste having so any ruckmen?

    • Chris says:

      Thoughts on Haneberry

      • Smittzzy says:

I have him mate hes had to average games, but the blokes a ball magnet and kicking genius… should average atleast 90-100 Worth a keep as a Point of Difference

  33. Chris says:

Leunberger for currie would be the trade**. Forgot to mention

  34. Callum says:

Any roookies i could trade for bennel, need to generate cash, i have omeara, wines, viney, crouch who should i get in? OR i could get sam mitchell

  35. john says:

who should i get for Lecras monfries jkenedy byrnes

    • SCaddict says:

Probably JJK. Should have his wicked way against the Deeplorables this weekend for a massive price rise next week.

    • Dean says:

Get in KENNEDY that's a no brainer, I will be doing the same thing.

  36. Tom says:

Can I please have someone's opinion on Dangerfield? With a break even of 201, he's expected to drop nearly $50k! I've already used one trade (Lecras–> Kennedy) so what's a better option for my second trade

    A) Dangerfield –> Watson/Swallow/Ablett/Parker/Mitchell

    B) Karnezis –> Dwyer

I don't know which one would be more beneficial for my SCORE in rounds 3,4 & 5. Already have $300k in the bank so am sitting pretty nicely there..

    Help anyone please?

    • EPR says:

Surely you have to back in Dangerfield. He will hold his value for the rest of the year so you will probably get more good then bad from this point forward.

Karnezis to Dwyer is a much better option especially as Dwyer is set to increase big time, unless he gets dropped next week for one of collingwoods returning stars, then I don't have a clue 😀

    • Smittzzy says:

Danger is a football genius mate, he'll average 110+ come seasons end.

      • Tom says:

Yeah, come season's END. I need cash generation and high scores now. I would upgrade a rookie to Dangerfield later in the year.

    • jimbotraralgon says:

      Option b mate

    • Dean says:

I have Dangerfield and think he is a MUST HOLD however considering you dont have ABLETT the great, IF you had to make a trade I would be getting ABLETT.

Your other option for trading out Karnezis for Dwyer is a definite MUST.

    • Alex says:

I would say Danger to Watson, Mitchell Or Swallow, those players are all likely to undergo hefty price rises

    • Mendo says:

try mullet or parker with cash in hand

  37. Ben says:

    hey community
Firstly should i trade out roughy, his scores have been heavily effected by the inclusion of
Bailey and Hale leading to his poor average of 73.
I've got two options up my sleeve they are to

    1. Switch roughy into forward line for cox into the ruck. Then sell roughy for bartel or another premium.

    2. Downgrade roughy to Leunberger and then upgrade Karnezis.

I would love some feedback guys bear in mind option 1 uses 1 trade

  38. chandanrajdb says:

    Hello Community…….

Firstly Podcast was really good and i loved it………great work guys…..

I am a 2nd year student to Supercoach and would like to thank Jock, Higgo, Crouchingone and rest of the community for helping me out in sorting out my team to start with……and yes i know its a long journey its not finished yet……..

My score in the 1st 2 rounds are,
    1st Round Score…….2,260
    2nd Round Score……2,342

    Currently ranked 3,372 overall…..

I did use couple of trades last week…….

    Trades Last week….

    Out LeCras In Dwyer
Out Currie in JJKennedy by swinging S Rowe into rucks…..

I have got 3 off the premiums and couple of mid priced players who are not performing for what they are worth…..thinking of using 2 more trades before the prices shoots through the roof…….

The Premiums who are not performing,
    1. Dangerfield……i know he did alright but up to his standards….BE of 201 and a projected price drop of $43,000 (and yes if he scores more than his projected score of 105 the price drop will also reduce!!!)…..

    2. Zorko the Magnificent……Is he really "Magnificent"???….BE of 169….and projected price drop of $35,800 (and yes if he scores more than his projected score of 89 the price drop will also reduce!!!)…..

    3. Roughead…..BE of 177….and projected price drop of $42,200 (and yes if he scores more than his projected score of 82 the price drop will also reduce!!!)…..

    1. DEF – J Russell (Collingwood) – $266,000…….he is not going to drop in price……but is he worth keeping in the team when you have likes of L Brown & H Campbell as a rookie options…..???

    2. P Karnezis…..thinking of trading him out definitely this week……..not sure though…

    Trading options below……

    OPT – 1:

OUT….Russell & IN….L Brown or H Campbell (not sure who to go with, please help….)
    OUT….Karnezis & IN…J Neade

    OPT – 2:
    OUT….Zorko & IN…Cyril Rioli
    OUT…Karnezis & IN….J Neade

    OPT – 3:
    OUT….Zorko & IN….J Neade
    OUT….Roughead……& IN…..Leuenberger

    OPT – 4:
    OUT….Dangerfield & IN……J Watson
    OUT…Zorko & IN…..Cyril Rioli…..

Which option do you guys think is worth going for…….Please help…..any help would be highly appreciated…..

    Thank you

  39. wags says:

jock what are you doing or would you do with greg broughton?? whens he back

  40. KOKO says:

Zorko next 3 games are against GC ,North Melb and Melbourne . Is he worth keeping or beat the price drop and used my 2nd trade?. Ive use my first trade trading H, bennell OUT and Rockliff IN?. AnY suggestion out there from my SC family. TThanks

    • SCaddict says:

Yes I'm hanging on to him for at least one more week as the Lions have a very favourable draw coming up as you've indicated.

If he has a stinker again he will be goneskies next week though so will need to hit at least 95 to likely remain in my team.

  41. James says:

Hey boys just wondering what my two biggest issues are with:
    – J Roughead
    – L Plowman
    – J Toumpas
    – P Karnezis

I will most likely look to downgrade two, into two rookies to generate cash.

    Cheers, James

    • SCaddict says:

Definitely Toumpas who needs to go for another lock rookie. Toumpas like nearly all Dees players (perhaps Viney excepted) should be avoided like the plague as the clobberings are likely to continue against the Eagles desperate to get their first win of the season.

It's tougher after that. I'd say Roughy would probably be next on the list as I've seen enough now to know that Bailey's impact is going to continue to hurt Roughy's scores.

However Plowman to a Port lock rookie defender is certainly worth considering as well before the big price jumps. At least he is playing each week and should easily achieve his BE so perhaps not as pressing as moving on Roughy imho.

Karny is probably worth giving one last go as the Lions do have a tasty draw over the next 3 weeks. But if he gets vested again or better yet omitted (i.e. no price drop) than he has to go the following week too.

      • James says:

Cheers appreciate i agree with you ill look into trading toumpas this week and most likely roughead. Thanks

      • Spifflicator says:

I have these four as well (& Newman). Given Plowmans role he just won’t score, so I will trade him for Pittard.

The next trade is the difficult one. Yes roughy will drop but given that there are no other viable FWD options, I will keep him and expect 80-100pts out of him.

Karnezis still represents value in an under performing squad, who play GCS and Melb over the next three weeks. Keep also and see he travels over the next 3 weeks, hopefully without the dreaded vest.

That leaves me trading out a playing rookie for the first time ever! Melbourne are shambolic and will get another roasting this week in Perth so the second trade must be Toumpas out, and Wines in narrowly ahead of Whitfield (although given GWS play Melb and the Aints in the next 2 rounds, he maybe the better bet)

  42. Legend123 says:

Please help. I don’t know what to do with karnezis. I have Dwyer neade and macaffer. So I don’t know what to do

    • Panda says:

Have enough cash to upgrade him to J.J Kennedy?

      • theazzyg says:

Could always do a small trade down to ricky petterd, similar scoring potential

      • Legend123 says:

No I don’t but I’m trading lecras down to him so I don’t know who else

        • SCaddict says:

I don't suppose you have a DPP FWD/MID in your midfield such as Neade or Dwyer perhaps??

If you do then you could always swing that guy into your forward and replace Karny with one of the plethora of lock rookie mids.

  43. @Popey_99 says:

Watts to Monfries and Karnezis to JJ Kennedy for me.
Looking at those couple of mid pricers to turn into premiums by years end. Thios leaves me with Danger, Zorko, Kommer and Duffman to some extent with underperforming averages.

  44. matteus says:

what do you reckon about Dixon jock? worth putting him in over watts?

  45. Charlie says:

Bannell and k Mitchel out for molony and wines? Gives me 122k. What do you guys think? Any better options?

    • Smittzzy says:

Don't trade Mitchell he will generate enormous cash as soon as he gets a full game!

      • Charlie says:

Alright thanks for that, how does Bannell and Karnezis out for Watson and Neade?

  46. zach says:

thoughts on Ben Howlett. I know not to chase scores but surely he cant be ignored?

  47. Fraser says:

Hey Jock just freed up some cash after a horror week by trading Karnezis for Sammy Dwyer. Now should I trade out Taylor or Varcoe?
If Taylor probably well not sure yet.

If Varcoe either Liberatore or Moloney
    What are your thoughts?

  48. Jo says:

Also considering trading in Howlett for Zorko, or is Moloney a better option to top up bank account? Cyril for Tex?

    • Fraser says:

I wouldn't jump on Cyril just yet for Tex. I'd go for Rockliff instead he's playing some good footy. Hewlett for Zorko could be the goods too.

  49. BPP says:

Hey guys, how does Karnezis to Dwyer, Varcoe to JJK sound?

    • BPP says:

Forward line is : Rockliff, Cox, Wright, Zorko, Varcoe, Karnezis (Neade, Macaffer)

    • SCaddict says:

Seems like a reasonable thing to do assuming Dwyer is named this week of course.

  50. Sean says:

Very happy with how my team is performing, consistently scoring 2250 over two rounds however looking at the top teams this year I believe that once these rookies' prices are higher enough to cash in I hopefully will be able to make a strong push to hopefully go inside the top 1000.
HOWEVER, my only problem is that I am stuck with Dangerfield and don't have one of Josh Kennedy or Watson which is pushing the top teams away (especially seeing as Watson will score MONSTROUS scores over the next 10 weeks as Essendon makes their usual early season run) and also stuck with the high priced Vlastuin on the bench who is only likely to get a sub vest if named.

Is it worth trading Vlastuin down to Luke Brown to just get enough cash to upgrade Danger to Watson?? I am a strong beleiver in NON sideways trading but in this case Dangerfields short run may put me too far behind the leaders by the time he gets anywhere near Watsons level OR by the time the cash cows can be traded in for Watson.

    • Tom says:

Keep dangerfield, he won't be tagged this week

Watson in WA against fremantle, expect Crowley to tag him like there's no tomorrow

  51. Eugene says:

The only department I have to fix this week is my forward line.
I am looking to trade Watts out (100% sure) and maybe Karnezis.
Question is, who do I go for?
Already have Mcaffer, Rowe and Neade…

    • Charlie says:

Karnezis for Dwyer?? The kid can play!!

      • Eugene says:

        Only concern is Dwyer's JS.
If I went on with this trade, probably just for the money…

    • Big Will says:

im making the exact same trades. I already have Dwyer so im leaning towards getting in Walters and JJK

  52. Gedransom says:

What do you think of the trades.
    M. Robinson for j. Kennedy of the west.
    Karnezis for Rockliffe.
Kept Zorko for another week as Brisbane have a run of 3 easy games to come.
    Fingers crossed.

  53. James says:

Hey guys not sure what to do this week have all the rookies i want except for maybe wines my problem players are karnezis, shuey, zorko, robinson and danger not sure what to do. any tips?

    • BPP says:

Yeah, get wines in. What are your MID rookies? Shuey will be fine, Zorko will be fine, Robbo, not sure how much his concussion affected him yesterday, we know that concussion wears on for a fair while. Danger will be fine.

  54. Charlie says:

    Karnezis out, Neade in
Bannell out, Watson or Maloney in??
If I bring Watson in i only have 26k left, but if I bring Maloney in I have 311k. I need someone else’s opinion please!?

    • Marc says:

How are you scoring with your current team? Maloney is looking like he'll be a 100 point scorer, so if you feel OK missing out on the extra 20-40 points a game Watson might get you i'd go Maloney as it'll leave you with an extra 300K and Maloney will also make money for you too.

  55. Zac says:

Traded out Dangerfield for Moloney Danger goes down about 50k round 3 just wondering if this is a smart move the week after i'll trade out Kane mitchell the dud and bring in watson or mitchell. Thoughs??

    • Lachie says:

Mitchell isn't a dud. He just hasn't had game time.

      • SCaddict says:

Although I wouldn't be trading in K.Mitchell if you don't have him I reckon you need to hang on to him if you do and hope Hinkley finds someone else to vest.

  56. Tom says:

Is Sam Mitchell a good POD prospect? Or too risky??

    • Zac says:

      He's fairly consistent

    • SCaddict says:

I think it would be a low risk acquisition especially with his price set to explode. It may be a long time before you can get him below $600K again if you don't pick him up this week.

Of course the main thing this week is to ensure you have all the rookie locks as well as key premiums like GAJ and Rocky. But if you do then and you have no other bad premium or mid price performers then I say go get him son!

  57. Ross Was Lyon says:

Higgo in the Pod Cast, you bring up the idea of trading out Tex Walker for Dwyer from Collingwood for a cash injection. Good in theory but how secure is he in the Pies line up? Dale Thomas is to return not to mention other senior players. I also don't recall any mention of him be elevated off of the rookie list so his time could be limited. Thoughts?

  58. Jt15 says:

T.Lee out Neade/dwyer in? who do i take because dwyer with the pies will get a rough run an neade with port will have more security? THOUGHTS ?

  59. Tom says:

    Varcoe out Kennedy in??

  60. Carl says:

    2 trades to do:

Gwilt to L Brown – should have done that last week 🙁

K Stevens to Crouch Wait till next week?

Blicavs/Rough/Ryder to Berger – Cant decide who. Next week? Ruckman I have are Cox, Kreuzer, Rough, Ryder, Blicavs, Rowe.

Karnezis to JJK – This seems to make the most sense off the lot. Or stick with Karnezis due to easy draw next month?

Dangerfield, Varcoe, Newman other problems but I think I’ll stick fat with them

    • Big Will says:

Dont trade K Stevens, Round One he was playing really well but only played about 2 and a half quarters, unlucky to be the sub Round 2 but dominated once he came on. Doubt he'll be the sub again this week.

      Karnezis to JJK sounds good.

Stick with Danger, played very well on the weekend.

      • Carl says:

Cheers Wilba makes sense. Gwilt to L Brown the other trade then? If not Stevens will be hard to get Crouch in 🙁 he looks the goods!!

  61. Tom says:

    Lee out Dwyer in?

  62. ollie says:

I have Zac Smith, Karnezis, Rich, Gaff and Watts. Which 2 should I trade out, my team is a disaster zone.

  63. @MarkVassett says:

    Watts (OUT) Dwyer (IN)
    Karnezis (OUT) Kennedy (IN)

My first 2 trades for the year.

    • Muneem Alam says:

Am doing the exact same champ, only problem is really with the likes of didak, beams, daisy and clint young, dwyer will not really be getting regular games

    • Knave says:

I was looking at Dwyer for Watts earlier i had no idea if it was a good move it would give you about 250k though
I think you should get Karnezis a down grade to Dwyer and get Watts an upgrade

  64. Knave says:

Could some please give me a reply about this
    Fwd: Watts -> Westhoff
It will give me about 30k
    Westhoff's average is 131.50

    • Big Will says:

Keep in mind Port Adelaide have played Melbourne and GWS, possibly the worst two teams in the comp. I doubt Westhoff will be able to score that well every week.

  65. Big Will says:

    Michael Walters anyone?

  66. Big Will says:

Not sure why everyone's still considering trading out Danger? He got a solid 107 and should only get better

    • Tom says:

Because his break even is 201 and 107 is not good enough for someone who is at $636k. He should be getting 120+

      • Big Will says:

Its not as if hes been scoring consistent 107's for 10 rounds. Its Round 2. Are you trading out GAJ because he scored a 99?

        • Josh says:

Yeah totally agree… I would have considered trading him if he scored another 50-70 but not with a decent score like that. He'll come good and his price should go back up pretty quickly when he does. On the other hand, who knows what the hell will happen so it could be a good move

  67. Zimmer says:

I've got a few problems I want to sort out over the next couple of weeks. Question is, which do I deal with first?

Bennell out (BE 180)- thinking of bringing Howlett, Liberatore or Fyfe in.
Karnezis out (BE 86) – can bring J.Kennedy in with first two, but not with Fyfe.

Or other than Karnezis, there is a twofold ruck/forward issue:

Ryder and Roughead have break evens of around 180. Going to loose out. But both have the potential to come good (I think). Had Ryder last year until he was injured and he scored well. Bellchambers improvement is effecting his scores. Similar case with Roughy and Bailey.

May have to take the hit with them, and deal with one or the other next week, as there are some cheaper rucks scoring well.

Any advice as to what I need to deal with first?? Would be appreciated.

    • Carl says:

If you downgrade rucks, Berger is the only option cheaper than Kruezer I’d consider.

Of those mids I’d only choose Fyfe. Highest ceiling by an mile.

So with Karnezis I would downgrade to Neade/Dwyer/Macaffer in that pecking order if you don’t have them. Other option is back him to improve over next month against weaker teams or find cash somewhere to get JJK – he’s the best Karnezis trade option if you can afford him.

      Hope that helps

      • Zimmer says:

Yeah, thanks for that. It's opened up my thinking either way.

For example: Could go Ryder to Kruezer, and Bennell to Mitchell

or else: Ryder to Burger, and Bennell to Watson (or anyone else for that matter).

Deal with Karnezis next week, as against GC, he could pull his finger out and reach his break even of 86. (I've got Neade, Dwyer and Macaffer already btw.)

  68. PINQ! Makeup & Beauty says:

what do we think of taylor walker to monfries

  69. Carl says:

Gwilt downgrade to L Brown vs Heath?
JS similar probably Brown in front.
Scoring similar so far Heath slightly in front but have played 2 weak teams in good wins.

    L Brown $135k
    Heath $115k

    I’m leaning to L Brown

  70. JJFYZZ says:

So after 2 rounds and scores of 2361 and 2301 I'm sitting at an overall ranking of 1439.

    Team is this

Backs: Gibbs, Goddard, Heppell, B Goodes, J Pittard, L Stevenson (Heath, Terlich)

Mids: GAJ, Pendles, Kennedy, Dangerfield, Moloney, O'Meara, Viney, Wines (K Mitchell, K Stevens)

    Rucks: Jacobs, Jenkins (Blicavs, Daw)

Fwds: Rockliff, Cox, JJKennedy, Ryder, Dusty, Neade (Macaffer, Karnezis)

My thoughts are this I will use 2 trades this week and your help with the T/Up T/Down would be appreciated

T/Up Ryder downgrade to Dwyer and Upgrade K Mitchell to Cotchin Leaves me with $20K in the bank
(Then next week move K Stevens to Crouch)

T/Down Ryder downgrade to Dwyer and swap K Mitchell to Crouch now. Leaving me with approx $520K in the bank
Then next week upgrade K Stevens to Cotching/Watson/Swan or Karnezis to Franklin)

I'm leaving the cash generating rookies in and want to remove the others as there's no need to hold for another 3 weeks for more cash if I don't have to.

    Love to hear your comments

    • Carl says:

I’d be trading K.Mitchell over Stevens. See Big Will’s post @ 1:13 re Stevens

      Trading Ryder over Karnezis, Jenkins?

      • JJFYZZ says:

Jenkins I'm happy with at the moment – Ave 87.5 with a BE of 37 this week. Will hold for another couple of weeks before swapping to Leuy and taking the cash to upgrade to a premo elsewhere.

Ryder is set for big price drop ($46K) and given that I'm looking OK at the moment for scoring an looking to generate as much cash as possible by missing out on the price drop and bringing in Dwyer at $96K it's almost like I'm getting him for half price.

Karnezis has 3 easier games coming up so as long as he's playing then he should do OK but if he sits on the pine again this week then he may go too!

  71. Tim says:

How are you calculating the break even scores needed?

Also, considering trading out Vlastuin for 400-500k midfielder. Any suggestions?

  72. Jack says:

I have a huge dilemma, i was one of those stupid ones who picked byrnes and karnezis in the forward. now i am going to trade this week do i downgrade both or downgrade one and upgrade the other?? i also need help because i picked bloody ben jacobs in my defence, I need the wise words of JOCK REYNOLDS or anyone else!

    • Josh says:

It depends on the look of your FWD line, have you got cover on the bench? (Mcaffer, Neade, Dwyer?) I'd be looking to get at least one of them out but again it depends on your team and cash available. If you do't have Dwyer then maybe bring him in for Byrnes and upgrade Jacobs. Could even downgrade Jacobs to a firing rookie as there are a fair few in DEF at the moment and upgrade Byrnes to Monfries or Kennedy or if cash allows it go for a higher performing/reliable FWD. Just some options from what you've said there. The dilemma's never end do they! haha gotta love it

  73. Carl says:

With 1 trade to go: (Already done Karnezis-J Kennedy)
    $39k left
    Team atm is:

D: Gibbs, Goddard, Goodes, Pittard, Stevenson, Newman
    (Gwilt, Terlich)
M: Pendles, JPK, Swan, Fyfe, O’Meara, Wines, Danger, Stevens
    (Viney, M Jones)
    R: Kreuzer, Ryder
    (Blicavs, Rowe)
F: Rockliff, Cox, JJK, Dwyer, Rough, Varcoe
    (Neade, Macaffer)

Happy with all my rookies, only real ones I’d like to add in next week or 2 are Heath/L Brown and Crouch. Thinking Gwilt to the Def rookie and Jones to Crouch next week

I’d like to add Berger for Ryder/Rough?
Think trading Karnezis for JJK is a no brainer but I’m happy to be told otherwise

Thoughts? Feel free to give whatever advice you have community! 2 Very important trades this week

  74. Josh says:

I'm sitting just out of the top 1000 after round 2 without any major issues, finally! The only one is Karni which may not be much of a problem at all with him as F6 and Mcaffer, Neade on the bench, it seems like the obvious move to trade him out for Dwyer and make a nice and early high mid pricer to elite trade. Looking good and a lot of thanks goes to hours of research here at JR! Cheers men 😉

Just trying to get my head around the projected price changes and it seems a bit odd to me that Hibberd who averaged 73 last year and should go into the first price change with an average around 90, yet by the looks of it will only go up about $15,000? Seems criminal! Any insight would be much appreciated.

  75. Carl says:

    Or another option:

    Gwilt – Heath/Brown

Karnezis – Berger (Move Ryder FWD) Still have R/F swing with Rowe as R4

So really the question is JJK v Berger

  76. Scott says:

Not sure who to trade this week..

    RUC: Cox, Leuenberger, Witts, Currie

FWD: Rockliff, Zorko, Karnezis, Macaffer, Neade, Roughhead, Rowe, Kerridge

Im thinking Karnezis definitely has to go this week… Thinking J.Kennedy will be a good replacement.

Then im not sure if i should get rid of one of my rucman who arent playing and possibly move rowe to the ruc and bring in Dwyer?
Get rid of Zorko or Roughy and bring in either a Premium Forward or possibly move Cox up to the FWD and get another Rucman…

    Any suggestions? Cheers

    • JJFYZZ says:

Get rid of Roughy, move Cox across to the Fwds and bring in another ruck like Goldstein, McEvoy, Bellchambers or Minson (although not sold on the last 2)

Karnezis gone for JJK is a good move. I currently have both so Karnezis has 1 more week.

      • Scott says:

What do u think about trading roughy for someone like riewoldt, chapman or bartel?

  77. Unknown says:

2247 round 1 not a bad start. 2004 round 2, bit disappointed in my skipper (gazza) but traded smith for leuenberger and karnezis for Kennedy (west coast)

  78. Kirstiano says:

Birchall, Pearce Hanley, Gibbs, Goddard, goodes, Stevenson (pittard, terlich)

Watson, pendlebury, Ablett, Sam Mitchell, liberatore, O'meara, viney, wines (crouch, Dwyer)

    Cox, leuenberger (blicavs, Rowe)

    Forwards –
Bartel, rockliff, Elliott, josh Kennedy, Hawkins, neade (macaffer, tom lee)

    $100,800 cash remaining

  79. jimbotraralgon says:

Hey guys. Been watching all the posts and suggest that we don't panic trade.

I too have felt the pain of danger and zorko but been thinking.

I chose danger over Watson, zorko over barlett and swan over pendlebury.

But I chose these guys as my keepers so figure I will hold fat on those guys and just focus on the miss and rookies.

Suppose just suggesting that we don't sideways trade.

I hope this helps with the trade concerns. Just a thought, hopefully might help 😉

    • SCaddict says:

Yes agree that most sideways trades should be avoided unless for obvious reasons e.g. LeCras to JJK etc.

But if you have poorly performing premiums or mid pricers and you expect that trend to continue then they need to be moved on this week before big price adjustments occur.

Don't think there are many coaches that shouldn't burn both trades this week.

  80. johnny says:

do i downgrade danger to the likes of a monolney then use the money get rid of new for birchell or get lunberg instead??

    advise pplease

    • Mr_Consistent says:

I think you should keep Dangerfield in your team, he is an absolute gun… Just had a slow start to the year. If you were asking if you should get Leunberger in your team I would suggest waiting on him one more round, his price changes in round 4 don't forget!

  81. Josh says:

Should I replace Marc Murphy with Jobe Watson and Sam Mitchell?

  82. Lachie says:

I got 2,314 in round 1 and 2,180. I had Gary has captain. I got 30 trades and 100,000 in the bank. Should I trade Murphy to Watson? Or trade Zorko to Monfries? Or Varcoe to Monfries?

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Murphy to Watson is to much of a sideways trade for my liking and I'm sitting on Zorko the magnificent for one more week before I make my mind up .

  83. Phil says:

    Ryder > JJK
    Rich > Mitchell
Thinking Mitchell good bet considering Hawks have played WC and Cats and still averaging well what will he do against a poor opposition or should I go for another elite already have Ablett, Kennedy and Danger.

    • G Harbl says:

Mitchell is a very good call. Consistent scores, currently underpriced and set to go up. Sans a long term injury I'd lock him in if I could!

  84. Mr_Consistent says:

    Trades this week

    Watts –> Cambell Heath

    Karnezis –> Sam Dwyer

Wondering what was going on when I decided to put Watts into my team, I think Crouching needs to deliver a fly kick…..

    • G Harbl says:

you know exactly what you were thinking! 163 in that nab cup game vs GC…surely this is finally going to be his year…? so many of us got sucked in, myself included.

      • Mr_Consistent says:

Yeah sadly I have to agree with ya their mate, why do I always go with nab cup form… AHHHH!!!

    • jockreynolds says:

Not a lone Ranger Mr Consistent! Like the trades – already got NEade?

      • Mr_Consistent says:

Course I do Jock, when rookies are few and far between in that FWD line Neade is a must!

  85. Bolter says:

Who would you suggest as a good replacement for Harley Bennell? really tempted to let him go, just doesnt seem to be able to cope with the extra attention from opposition. Absolutely lost as to what to do with him. please help

    • Mr_Consistent says:

I reckon you put in Dwyer, Moloney, Parker, Libba or one of the midfield rookies, if you're looking at generating cash look at trading him out ffor a rookie

    • Marc says:

I went Bennell to Maloney before the Rd 1 lockout. Libba looks good, but I imagine his scores might dip a bit when Boyd comes back soon. Either one of those two will generate cash for you though.

  86. Beau says:

    Thinking of these trades.

    Out- walker. In- Bradley hill.

Out- k Mitchell. In- Jobe Watson.

    Any advice??

  87. dools says:

Great advise Jimbo, I feel the community are looking at price drops instead of Locks
Dangermouse Is a Lock for the season why trade him out because he drops 40K to plan to pick him up later? The Footy Gods will conspire to throw injury/suspension and just not selected or Gods forefend, Rested !!! in yoyur SC journey.
I have Zorko not trading him short term pain over short term gain.
I have a rule 'Never Trade on Monday'

  88. gghfhf says:

    what to do with roughhead

  89. Dean says:

  90. miz says:

should i trade zorko or roughed?

    • Mr_Consistent says:

I reckon Roughhead, lack of time in the ruck is going to hurt him this year…

    • Dean says:

I Personally would trade out Roughead. I'm in the same situation, Hawks have a tough next 5 rounds compared to the Lions, I would expect Zorko to at least score extremely high against Gold Coast & Melbourne so his B/E of 171 in round 3 you would expect Zorko to score much higher then Roughead especially considering Roughead has a poor record against Collingwood.

Hawks next 5 rounds: Collingwood, Fremantle, North Melbourne, Adelaide (away) & Sydney Swans.
Brisbane next 5 rounds: Gold Coast, North Melbourne (away), Melbourne, Sydney Swans (away) & West Coast

      Good luck either way mate.

  91. Callum says:

My 1st trade this week: Colquohon TO Heath. The rookie trades must take first priority over any other of your potential trades. 2nd trade: Zorko TO leunberger (switch cox to FWD) OR Bennel maybe s.mitchell or preferably a cash generation trade. Already have viney, crouch, wines, o'meara, dwyer, neade. OR i could possibly get rid of roughead for leunberger or do something with karnezis. Need some HELP!!

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Agree with your decision on Colquohon to Heath, and believe that out of roughie and Zorko you should trade out roughie, but if Karnezis is named sub you need to get him out

      • Callum says:

I am thinking bennel must go this week, with a BE of 179 he’s price will drop dramatically. Might bring in wingard to generate cash and in a few weeks currie out leun in. Because personally I think roughead will bounce back, but your right if karnezis is the sub he must go.

    • Michael says:

I would wait another week on Leuy to be sure if you can, his price won't go up until next week after Round 4 and if he gets injured again this week you'll be kicking yourself. Depends how you're travelling though I guess, just my opinion if you can hold off for another week.

  92. Tom says:

    Will dwyer play every week?

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Hard to say, got Thomas, didak and fasolo coming back.

Buckley said he hates to say it but Dwyer could to out of the side when broomhead recovers from glandular something or other…

    • Adam says:

For the time being, he was one of the pies best on the weekend and Fasolo and Didak are coming back but still not for a few weeks.

  93. Dave says:

Stevens to Watson or Komer to Lukey Parker? Looking to sure up my midfield before the first head-to-head.

    • Mr_Consistent says:

I don't know if you should be looking to trade up so early in the season but I would probably go with Kommer to Parker.

  94. @pluggers_guts says:

Cool m8. Thanks heaps. Good luck with rnd 3 🙂

  95. Lachie says:

If I downgrade Shaw for more money who should I get?

  96. Guest says:

Hi Jock, love your work. Thinking of trading Ryder to Kennedy and Bennell to Mitchell. Thoughts??

    • Mr_Consistent says:

I love the Ryder to Kennedy trade and think that you could maybe go down from bennell to someone like Moloney, Parker or Libba

    • Guest says:

      Thanks for that. Cheers.

    • jockreynolds says:

Reasonable mate.. Ryder is one of those 50/50s but love the look of the move to Kennedy especially pre Melbourne. Not sure enough about Mitchell in the guts with his vest antics.. you'll get him cheap for another cuppla weeks

      • Guest says:

Thanks Jock. I should have specified that Bennell would be traded upwards to Sam Mitchell. Cheers.

  97. brad says:

    Daniel rich to A mullet
    karnezis to kennedy worth it?/

  98. Phil says:

Thoughts on Lecras & Dangerfield OUT for Rioli & Watson

    • jockreynolds says:

Gday there Philthy… reckon you hold onto both LeCras and Danger old son – talk now is LeCras will be back in town sooner rather than later and Danger will bounce back 😉

  99. JJFyzz says:

    Real short question

    Who do I keep?

    T/Up – Kane Mitchell
    T/Down – Koby Stevens

  100. Cold Ass Honky says:

Ranking 6,019 atm, so a bit disappointed. Had an average round 2..

Anyway, wanting to bring Leuenberger in for Karnezis (by swinging cox into fwd line).. To do this though, i need to generate 10k cash.

    Am i better trading:
Danger down to Cotchin (danger looks like he's going to struggle immensely with a hard tag this year.

Tex Walker down to someone 526k or below (already have rockliff).

    Varcoe into Petterd or Rowe

If whichever of the three i don't trade plays average again, they'll be out next week regardless..

    Cheers lads

  101. Luke says:

Hey guys. Loved the podcast. I was laughing through most of it. I know you've got some great footy wisdom but your humour and fighting keeps me interested more than anything. I'm looking forward to a fully fledged punch on during a future podcast between Jock and Crouching!

I have one gripe about the podcast. You blokes need to cut the pretentious gimmicks and get rid of that effect you have on Wayneo's voice. I can hardly understand a word he says! We all know he isn't really calling in on some dodgy phone line to a pre-recorded podcast so please, cut that frickon reverb so we can hear what the man has to say!

    • Big Will says:

How dare you speak about Wayno like that! Remember hes the nephew of popular panel member of The Supercoach Show and Father of Fantasy Jock Reynolds.

      • Luke says:

How dare I say what about way no?!?! I didn't say anything about wayno, just the effect on his voice. Oh wait… you really thought he was calling in from some distant corner of the footy universe didn't you.

  102. ivan says:

2240 4,000 overall have chris newman thoughts ? Charlie Dixon smokey .. heppel scared they have fremantle this week ? maybe Dixon watch his price rise for few weeks

    • Mr_Consistent says:

I think you have to downgrade one of those defenders to the likes of pittard, terlich, Heath, Stevenson, Goodes etc….

  103. Peter says:

Read all the comments nobody else is considering trading H Hartlett, disappointed he couldn't break the tag this week?

Was thinking of swapping him to the mids and trading to Libba or down to L.Brown?

    • Mr_Consistent says:

      L. brown looks the goods as a rookie defender a solid 97 over the weekend And looks to have cemented his spot in the defensive pocket…. I have him in my team… Should you…?

    • Zimmer says:

Wouldn't be ditching Hartlett after one quiet week. He had a minor injury and they rested him much of the last half.

      • SCaddict says:

Yes Hartlett is a gun. Every player has their ups and downs. Expect him to bounce back in the Showdown.

  104. Bridgebuff says:

    Hi guys

I am a newbie. Pretty unhappy with my forward line:
Def: goddard, gibbs, hartley, pittard, goodes, heath, stevenson, brown
Mid: ablett, j selwood, cotchin, a swallow, wines, omeara, viney, kommer, m jones, rampe
    Ruck: roughhead, jacobs, cordy, blicavs
Fwd: zorko, rockliff, sylvia, jetta, lecras, neade, dwyer, macaffer

My biggest worries are jetta (be 149) and sylvia (be 160). Hope roughhead and zorko will come good. In no rush about lecras as rookies are doing ok. However may have to dump rampe if he gets no more games.

Have $436k left and need to look at getting some premiums. Here are my options:
Westhoff, kennedy, elliott, monfries, bartel in that order.

And next week i want to go for dangerfield (for kommer or jones) and franklin (for macaffer) after they drop in price.

Looking for some expert advise. Thanks a lot.

    • Mr_Consistent says:

      Alright Bridgebuff,

Melbourne is on the way down and last thing you want is To go down with them by owning a few of the Melbourne boys. So I'd first look at getting out Sylvia and replacing him with Josh Kennedy from the Eagles who is averaging over 100 and has the Dees next week.

Then I would look at using that spare cash to upgrade Jetta or even Macaffer to Someone like Cox, Bartel or Rioli. The reason why I would advise against Monfries and Westhoff is because they have started their season with some fairly weak sides ( GWS and Melbourne) and they will both be very up and down, unlike some of the more expensive, consistent premiums…

      Hope this all helps 🙂

      • Bridgebuff says:

Thanks for your thoughts. Why i considered westhoff is because he gets switched around (eg is where the action is) and i think this may be his break out season. And with his average of 123 he is going to skyrocket.
Why are you considering using macaffer (who is set to increase after rd 3) rather than lewis jetta (who averaged under 50 – less than macaffer – against gws and gold coast) and is going to have a massive price drop.
But really want to trade in a keeper, so really considering bartel who will be going up in price rather than cox who will stay around the mark.
        Any more thoughts?

        • Mr_Consistent says:

I considered Macaffer because I thought that if you we're looking to make a strong forward line full of players with consistency, job security etc… You would want to leave him in your side, but after reading you reply I guess you should take Jetta out for one of those FWD premiums you mentioned that you liked.

        • dan says:

westhoffs been around for donkeys years and all these years hes been a donkey trade him in at your own risk

    • Mr_Consistent says:

And may I ask which Jetta that is in your FWD line

  105. Adrian says:

who should i go captain? Ablett cos he is beast, or big cox as he is versin melbourne??

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Probably Ablett Brisbane don't really have a notable tagger (that I'm aware of) and should get free roam which we all know he thrives on and as for Cox, what can I say…. Big risk… Big reward!

      • SCaddict says:

Raines is their tagger and will likely to go to Gaz.

Nonetheless would still make Gaz the main captain consideration although the captain's loophole should always be exploited where appropriate to give you a double chance at posting a decent captain score.

    • Marc says:

Does the lockout go away during the afternoon and night games on Saturday? West Coast play before Gold Coast, so you can use the captains loophole and make Cox VC if it does.

Brisbane have Raines to tag, whether he goes to Ablett or Bennell, or if he's even in the side at all remains to be seen.

      • Gillie says:

Andrew Raines tagged Dangerfield on the weekend and he still managed about 24 possessions and two goals. And he doesn't really handle tags well. So Gary should go well.

      • Bridgebuff says:

Only make sure when you use the captains loophole you dont make my mistake. Had ablett as vc. When he only scored 99 went to selwood (140) as captain. Worked beautiful and was set to gain an extra 41 pts. However during my trade on the iphone clicked the captain button accidently and ended up with wines (51pts) as captain. Oops

  106. Gillie says:

I have made 1 trade so far this season and it was this week I traded Varcoe for JJK. My team is at the moment:
Defence: Gibbs, H.Shaw, Birchal, Heath, Stevenson, Pittard Bench: Pitt, Vlaustuin
Midfield: Ablett, Pendlebury, Murphy, Moloney, B.Goodes, Viney, O'Meara, Wines
    Bench: Neade, K.Mitchell
    Ruck: J.Griffen, Cox
Forward: Zorko, Martin, Rockliff, Franklin, Pavlich, Kennedy bench: Dyer, Macaffer
    Thoughts?? Trades??

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Well I think you need a back up rookie defender… You can't just have the 3 Port boys, take your pick of Vlaustin and Pitt and trade one of them to Terlich or Brown

And maybe consider trading down one of Franklin, Pavlich or Zorko to the likes of Neade, Monfries, Lecras ( if he's coming back)

  107. Josh says:

Thoughts on who Crowley will tag against the dons this week?

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Don't think Watson can be tagged, so probably an outside player like Goddard or Heppell

      • Josh says:

Yeah I was thinking the same, Howlett unlikely to gain attention yet?

        • Mr_Consistent says:

Hard to say. But has had a huge impact in both games so far…. but would Ross Lyon be thinking he was as important as Heppell/Goddard… Like I said, hard to say

    • Gillie says:

Most Likely Watson seems he played great the last two games and had a great season last season. But the tag shouldn't effect his scoring.

      • Josh says:

Like Mr. Consistent said, it's almost not worth tagging him especially now that he rests in the FWD line regularly

  108. adel taarabt says:

howlett for rich and josh j kennedy for roughead ? thanks,

    • Josh says:

I like Howlett at that price but will be interesting to see if he can keep it up. Moloney could be safer and generates a heap more cash but I expect higher scores, though possibly not as consistent, from Howlett. If you don't need Roughy for ruck swing, I'd go for it

    • Lachie says:

      Fantastic POD. love it

  109. Hawkfan says:

I am trading Karnezis for Dwyer.

I have $328k left after that trade, which other trade should I do-

    Currie for Luenberger
    Kommer for Wines

    • SCaddict says:

Probably Kommer to Wines. it will take at least another good 3-4 weeks for the first wave of cash to fully fatten and Wines JS is all but assured. Players like Winderlich and Jetta are pushing for selection after big games in the VFL so Kommer's spot in the team is less certain and ongoing vest risk is high. Also reckon Quadzilla's ceiling is a fair bit higher too playing on ball.

You can always bring in Leuey next week as his price won't change after this weekend's games.

  110. Big Will says:

I can buy any forward, but I already have Bartel Rockliff and Zorks. Who should I get? For dreamteam please

  111. Vinnie says:

Might be worth considering a Melbourne defender seeing as the ball will be spent on their backline often against WCE.

    • Mr_Consistent says:

So long as it isn't WATTS…..

    • SCaddict says:

No no don't like that idea at all Vinnie. The less Dees players you have (Viney and Terlich excepted) the better.

Most coaches should have much bigger fish to fry with regards trades this week than bringing in a Dees defender unless it's perhaps Terlich and you already have all the Port lock rookies.

Defenders on bad teams aren't necessarily better than defenders on good teams. Just look at Birchall on the weekend with the Hawks humiliating the Eagles. Or yes Watts for the Dees.

      • Zimmer says:

As we saw last week, the ball being down there a lot doesn't necessarily equate to them getting touches. Avoid the Dees other than the rookies.

  112. Scott says:

I need some advice plz community !

    My team is:

DEF: Heppel, Gibbs, Goodard, Goodes, Duffield, Pittard, Stevenson, Terlich

MID: Pendlebury, Ablett, Sidebottom, Moloney, Wines, JP.Kennedy, O'meara, Dangerfield, Viney, K.Mitchell

    RUC: Cox, Leuenberger, Witts, Currie

FWD: Rockliff, Zorko, Karnezis, Macaffer, Neade, Roughead, Rowe, Kerridge

    Don't know who to trade…
Thinking Karnezis for J.Kennedy (WCE), and Roughead for Dwyer and then i will be left with like $500k

Or I was thinking instead of Dwyer, Opt for a premium forward, or even move Cox to FWD and get some1 like Kreuzer

Or even use a trade to swap Dangerfield with some1 like stanton/swallow/ebert…

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    • Scott says:

What does everyone think about Quinten Lynch.., wont he be in the ruck a bit more now that jolly is injured meaning he will score a bit higher

    • Lachie says:

This team is identical to mine! I'm going with J Kennedy in fwd

      • Scott says:

        haha crazy

yeah im definitely going with Kennedy up front but not sure what other trade to use… roughead has been poor and i kind of want to get rid of him..

i was thinking of swapping cox and rowe and then trading roughead for dwyer…

so my ruc would be luenburger and rowe, and dwyer can go onto my bench to generate some cash

this all depends on whether rowe is selected or not

        what do you think?

        • Scott says:

thinking about it, you dont even need to swap rowe and cox… lol duur

        • SCaddict says:

Yes I'm making the same move discarding Roughy for most likely Dwyer. If he's not in the Pies final 22 this weekend with Daisy likely to return and may be a few others then will look at other options.

  113. Tom says:

Guys, after some advice. Team is pretty good, sitting 650 or so overall after 2 rounds, although not after the big prize, just want to win my leagues. Thinking of a corrective trade, Vlaustin from Pittard, then Karnezis for Leuenberger (moving Rowe into the fwd line). Positives- it'll shore up rucks with Sauce Jacobs and Leuenberger with Currie and Blicavs as backups giving me extra scoring power. Negatives- Leaves my fwd line a little light on with only Buddy, Bartel, Josh J. Kennedy and Varcoe as my main scorers with one of Macaffer, Neade and Rowe to play F6. Any thoughs would be much appreciated guys.

    • Lachie says:

How do you trade Karnezis to Leuenberger? I can't figure it out! If Leuenberger and Karnezis don't share the same position then how?

      • Mr_Consistent says:

Ok what he did was hit trade on Karnezis, that means there is one free spot in his FWD line, so he moved Rowe ( Ruc/Fwd) player into Karnezis spot. this means there is now one spot empty in the ruck area meaning the trade can be used on putting a ruckman ( Leunberger) into his side… Hope this helps

  114. Pete says:

I'm one of the few that doesn't have J. J. Kennedy & Dyer in the forward line – given that they're both due for some hefty price rises, should I trade:

    – Karnezis OUT, Dwyer IN

    and either

    – Varcoe or Zorko OUT, Kennedy IN

Thoughts? Will Dwyer have enough JS? Is Kennedy's ceiling better than Varcoe? Is it worth holding onto Zorko as people are suggesting, even though he may suffer a massive price drop?

    • dan says:

probably worth it we are al crossed fingers that dwyer will start on the field yet hes he same sort of player as thomas so i wouldbnt be suprised to see him start with the vest.
as far as cieling prices go it doesnt matter the name of the game is average prioces so you can forget about somone who has a great game one week and scores 50 the next they will destroy you consitency is what you want, so far varcoe has been consistently low kennedy has been consistently high he had one possession halfway through the second quarter and one sc point and ended with 100 points for 11 possessions and 5 goals imagine what he would have scored if he was awake for the whole game

  115. @pluggers_guts says:

Hey community. I love the old Crouching, I really do. Has he gone too far over the past few podcasts disrespecting our Father of Fantasy, the old boy Jock Reynolds? I'm all for for a bit of fun, but the old boy is getting kicked in his ample guts while he's down. Show some support for the old m8 community. I sense he's needing a bit of love right now. Sincerely @pluggers_guts

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Have to agree with you here plugger, Jock is an absolute legend… In the coming weeks I believe he will and soon be looking down on Crouching…. Welcome :p

  116. snake handler says:

Does anyone who whats the go with S.Docherty from Brisbane. Is he injured?. Will be be in the team soon??. Thanks

  117. snake handler says:

P.S Thanks for the podcast. Highly recommended for everyone to listen to. A lot of our questions are answered and some really got tips as usual. Thanks Gents

  118. Adam says:

    Out: Bennel and Walker
In: Leuenberger and J Kennedy (WCE)

  119. elM says:

on average, how many trades do we have per round?

    • Bridgebuff says:

      30 in 22 rounds = 1.36
Max would be 47 (2 per rd plus 1 extra in rds 11-13)
So you have to restrain yourself 17 times

  120. Bartel Flop says:

Thanks JockHiggCrouch – Hampson out, Kennedy In.

  121. Bridgebuff says:

    Good morning all,

Can somebody please explain how the new prices are worked out after rd 3? Eg what price can we expect for the following players:
    Westhoff ($431) expected score 80, rd1 100, rd 2 186, expected new price if rd 3 80?
    Bartel ($527) exp 98, rd 1 88, rd 2 157, exp if rd 3 98?
    Jetta ($427) exp 79, rd 1 37, rd 2 65, exp if rd 3 79?
    Sylvia ($433) exp 80, rd 1 73, rd 2 23, exp if rd 3 80?
    Kennedy ($300) exp 56, rd 1 109, rd 2 96, exp if rd 3 56?

If somebody could tell me the formula to calculate new prices or give me estimates from experience. Thanks in advance.

  122. Tom says:

What are people's thoughts on the trade:

    Dangerfield –> Moloney?

    • Mr_Consistent says:

If getting dangerfield out of your side is the least of your worries you must have a sound team… I personally would hold dangerfield. He had the flu going into the Round 1 clash, then scored 107 without looking at his best last week, I think he is just waiting to bust out a big score in the next couple of weeks!

      • Tom says:

Well look at it this way. What if i downgrade him, then I trade him back when him and Moloney are at an even price?
Otherwise i really wanna trade him to S.Mitchell

        • Mr_Consistent says:

I think that trading someone out so you can get them back later isn't the best thing to be doing. But then again your decision could payoff, if dangerfield scores bad in the next couple of weeks, you'll be laughing!

  123. D man says:

    Hi guys,

I’m thinking of keeping lecras after latest news he could be back this weekend.
So I’m thinking of trading down karnezis to Dwyer and roughie to Jj Kennedy.

    What do u think?
I have zorko, cox, rockliff, macaffer, neade,

  124. Eugene says:

Need some expert opinion here on who to trade out this week.
3 players I am looking at:

Which of these 2 should I get rid first?

    • Tom says:

Only Watts, the other two you need to HAVE FAITH IN MY FRIEND

    • Mr_Consistent says:

WATTS, WATTS, WATTS…. And Karnezis If named sub, Roughhead if Karnezis isn't named sub.

      • Eugene says:

What's the rationale of trading Karn out if he's a sub and vice versa?
Sorry first time player here =)

        • SCaddict says:

A couple of reasons. Firstly the sub's score is likely to suck if you play him on your field as he will likely only get a small percentage of game time unless there is an early injury. This is the first weekend of league action so every point counts

You may also need to use him as an emergency later that weekend even if you don't have him in your starting 22 and again that would be bad if your emergency ends up being a sub in the real games.

Secondly poor scoring leads to price drops so you effectively lose cash which restricts your ability to upgrade to premiums or otherwise manage the composition of your team during the course of the season.

That's why stats like break evens (BE) and projected price changes are so important for coaches to consider as they make their trades.

  125. Jono says:

I would like some thoughts on who I should get rid of and who I should try and get in.

I was thinking LeCras for Kennedy and Mitchell for Neadle and then try and get Luenburger and Crouch the week after, but then I miss out on Monfries, Libratorae and Dixon? Are those players worth considering?? Do I hold on Roughead?? Will Bailey keep playing? Also what do people think of Wingard and Stokes as a POD?? Thoughts please.

  126. Kane says:

Going to trade Karnezis to Dwyer definetly but what are your thoughts on Robinson to Rockliff as the premium or go Robinson to Kennedy of the Eagles instead saving $220k?

  127. taggath says:

So, community… Which West Coast player is going to be your captain this weekend?

    • The Old Dylan says:

Haha nice! Very cheeky! Mr. Dean Cox has the V slapped on him, I’ll put a spud on if he rips it up otherwise I’ll leave the C on Gary

  128. Big Will says:

Anyone think Jeremy Howe or Michael Walters are good replacements for Jack Watts?

  129. Phil says:

HELP, had shocker rnd 1 but improved rnd 2. Important tweaks to make before the price changes…..
    $203,900 in the bank.
DEF: Gibbs, Goddard, Duffield, Atley, Goodes,B, Stevenson,L (Terlich, Docherty,S)
MID: Swan, Fyfe, Heppell, Dal Santo, Zorko, Wines, O'Meara, Viney,J (Stevens,K & Crouch,B)
RUC: Cox & McEvoy (Rowe & Currie)
FWD: Rockliff, JJ Kennedy, Roughead,J Martin, Neade, Varcoe (Macaffer & Karnezis)

    Opt 1.
    OUT Docherty – IN Pittard
    OUT Karnezis – IN Dwyer,S

    OUT Docherty – IN Pittard
    a) OUT Zorko – IN Watson (lose only DPP Mid/Fwd in midfield)
    b) OUT Dal Santo – IN Watson

Opt 3 – Swing Cox into fwd line for Roughie then; OUT Roughie – IN Leuey
    + another trade from above.

Think I’m best to ride out Zorko & Roughhead for now, or do I try something like trading Zorko for Dwyer to free up cash for a premium like Franklin (or Ablett) once he hopefully drops in price in coming weeks.
Unless the community can come up with a smarter solution for me….

    • Jimmy Rickard says:

I’ve been betting on Supercoach with Sportsbet and cleaning up with Jocks tips. I got a FREE $250 bet for registering online using this link –

      • Saltysalts says:

Hmm I'm no super trade expert mate but I don't like option 2…hang in there with Zorko for the time being – no use burning side trades that may come back to haunt you!

Option 1 seems to be your best for generating potential cash to spend later, hence best trade keeping your future in mind.

Your option three seems pretty tempting, trading roughy for leuey to generate cash for well priced premium, then maybe generating cash by trading karnezis for dwyer

If it was me, I'd probabaly go with option one – you're not going to lose a potential premium that could potentially explode once hes out of your team.

This is a game of risk and reward though mate hope I helped a bit, would be interesting to hear what other people have to say…

        • Phil says:

Thanks Saltysalts, you have solid advice and you are correct – stay away from sideways trades! I'll see how the teams go tonight and pull the trigger accordingly

  130. Garry Spencer says:

Hi jock and others. I’m recently new to this site and have a dream team, no supercoach. I have karnezis but would like to hang onto him. Any ideas of his break even price? I want to trade Armstrong for pittard and Kennedy forswan. Any thoughts

    • SCaddict says:

Karny's BE for DT is 64. Yes those trades sound fine. Swanny is a must have for DT and JPK isn't as good scorer in DT as he is in SC due to the inside contested brand of footy he plays.

  131. Buffo says:

Ok, long time reader, first time poster. Just sitting outside the 1000 rank and my only dilemma(s) I'm facing is whether to:
    (a) Trade out Zorko for Monfries
    (b) Sideways trade under performing Mundy out for Libba in (who will have a much larger price rise.

    Appreciate the opinions.

    • SCaddict says:

Would hold on to Mundy for sure. Probably should give Zorko one last go and check to see how Monfries fares against stiffer opposition in the Showdown although I realise this may cost you some cash in waiting.

You're in fantastic shape and will have the benefit of making trades later in the season when many other coaches will be out of them if you can hold firm here.

      • Buffo says:

        thanks for the response,

Will hold on to Mundy, deep down I knew I shouldn't burn that trade… just needed the re-enforcement.

Still umming and ahhring over Zorko, is he likely to cop a tag this week against GC?

        • SCaddict says:

It's too hard to say. There's no question he's been a disappointment in the opening games so don't blame you for considering trading him out. Suffice to say if he can't get the job done and score at least 90 against the Suns then there will probably be few coaches who keep him on beyond that.

I assume you already have JJK as I'd be much happier with that trade down to JJK than to Monfries who I'm still not sure about as Port has had a very soft draw so far.

If it's any consolation I'm hanging on to Zorko for one more week like many other coaches so you'll be no better or worse off than many of us and will have an extra trade up your sleeve.

  132. Rhys says:

Just out of curiosity, how many of our bench players should be playing AFL and generating us supercoaches cash? At the moment I have 5 out of 8, I’m thinking that’s about normal, but I don’t want to be left behind in terms of cash cows and upgrading starting 22 in the future! Help?

    • .... says:

Every single one of my players played last week including the bench players

      • .... says:

because they are the players that make you money and can swap them with other rookies on field but don't worry about it to much

      • Mr_Consistent says:

Just out of curiosity… Who are your two rookie ruckmen that scored?

        • Josh says:

I've got Blicavs and and Rowe. Seemed the obvious decision before round 1 to me. Also had all players scoring last week. Surely getting the rookies right at the start of the season is priority

          • Mr_Consistent says:

Smart man, sadly my ruck rookies didn't score 🙁 but I have blicavs in the mid and Rowe up FWD.

    • Buffo says:

I would say at least 7/8 should be making you cash on the bench. The only hole should be on the ruck bench.

      • SCaddict says:

Yes and it's a good hole to have as it allows you to exploit the captain's loophole virtually every week.

        • Rhys says:

Well I have colqhoun and Frost who aren't really playing, as well as some spud ruckman for captain loopole every week, thanks for the feedback, may have to drop frost for terlich next week, I like Colqhoun for DPP, and hoping he can break into their line up at some stage

  133. Pete says:

How to trade karnezis for leuenberger??

    • Buffo says:

You cant unless you have a ruckman that has dual position into the forward line

  134. Ben says:

Hey guys need some help! I'm considering either:
-Jack Watts and Kobe Stevens for Aaron Mullett and Josh Kennedy or
-Jack Watts and Bachar Houli for Will Minson and Charlie Dixon

  135. Tom says:

problems: Shuey, Rich, Karnezis, Dangerfield, Zorko
players i want in: Wines, Goddard, possible dwyer for karnezis.
    what trades would you recommend?

    • Mr_Consistent says:

      Keep dangerfield and shuey
      50/50 Zorko
Get rid of rich and Karnezis if he is named sub

      Rich for Wines
      Karnezis for Dwyer

    • taggath says:

Shuey will kill it this week! He scored really well against Melbourne in Rd 2 last year and just about the top 5-6 scores against Melbourne last week were midfielders.

I think we'll find that the young midfielders on West Coast's list (i.e. Shuey, Selwood, Masten, Gaff) will all find another gear when it's Kerr that's copping the hard tag.

      • Tom says:

already have 2 rookies in the middle and kommer is one.. thinking kommer to wines and karnezis to dwer

  136. miz says:

I would love your opinions on these trade options. I currently like the first option but am still undecided.

    Option 1:
OUT: Roughead, Bennell IN: Kennedy, Watson (202k left in bank)

    Option 2:
OUT: Bennell, Karnezis IN: Moloney, JJ Kennedy

    Option 3:
    OUT: Roughead/Bennell/Karnezis for anyone else?

Definitely will trade harley bennell and roughead has a bad record against the pies and seems to be struggling with the likes of bailey and hale effecting his ruck time.
    Thoughts anyone??

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Well you don't really have to worry about Karnezis unless he is named sub.

Bennell out for Moloney I think is a good trade
Maybe roughhead for Dwyer/Neade/Macaffer for some cash generation, but then again I think you should get Kennedy in your side so trade roughhead/Karnezis for Kennedy

    • Zimmer says:

I have been thinking about the first option as well. It's so tempting.

Other than that I was thinking of straight swaps from Bennell to Fyfe, and Karnezis to JJK.

Will not make the move until Friday, but would be pretty handy to have Watson in my team.

      • Mr_Consistent says:

Have to agree with you on Watson, he has come out firing this year and looks unstoppable! Yeah I do like the straight swaps, both players your trading have played well so far.. However, do you really want to be sideways trading so early…??

        • Rhys says:

You will be spewing if Bennell comes out and scores 193 in a couple weeks, I'd personally hold him if it was me, but I understand your frustration, I have the same dilemma with Greene.
I'd go option 1, Watson too good to pass up and Kennedy a must given his price! Plus you're pocketing valuable cash in the process!

  137. matt says:

jock would you agree on trading scott selwood to barlow?

    • The Old Dylan says:

Not this week mate. Have a look at the scores the bombers chalked up against Melbourne, expect similar from west coast this weekend

      • matt says:

cheers mate agree with you scott selwood will probally get over 100 although throughout the year he will be up and down and with barlows brake even of 58 odd ill miss his price mmmm

  138. dools says:

What da ya mean Wayno ain't calling in…Your right up their with the Santa Claus busters. Thanks Man now you have ruined Trade Tuesday too. LOL

  139. womp says:

S.Martins ruck/ fwd from Brissie, will his price drop? ave :59

  140. WOLVES says:

    Thinking of trading

    Franklin > Rockliff
    Karnezis > Q.Lynch or ??? ($600K)

I know its risky trading franklin but it feels like the right thing to do? Am I crazy?

    • Mr_Consistent says:

No you certainly aren't, franklin to rockliff is good, maybe trade Karnezis for one of the rookies if you don't already have all of Neade, Dwyer and Macaffer,

  141. Carl says:

VC on Cox or JJK this week??

    • Mr_Consistent says:

If this is for the captains loophole I would definitely say Cox.

  142. Gillie says:

How do you do the Captains Loophole? Im pretty sure i know but i dont want to mess it up.

    • Josh says:

You need a player that won't be playing. Put him on the field, make him captain and then the emergency on the player you would have had on the field. Then put your Vice Captain on a gun that plays before your captain does. If your happy with the Vice's score, leave it as is and you'll get the score of your emergency, covering the captain's zero.

If you're not settled with the Vice's score just change your captain and bring the emergency back on the ground for the stand in captain : )

I was counting on Rowe being my loophole player and thought at least one rookie would probably miss a game each week, but had all players scoring last week. Haha it's good…but it's not good…but it's good

  143. Saltysalts says:

need to trade out cameron schwab i hear he's been dropped

  144. Eefto says:

G'day Jock, love the podcast. Made a few big trades this week. Had enough of Ryder as I think he wont score enough points considering the form of Tommy Bellchambers, so I took out Paddy and put in Cox so I could keep that Duel Position. Also had to swap Zorko out for Rockliff. Thoughts?

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Both of them are sideways trades, however rockliff is a must-have in your team, maybe Ryder to Leunberger.

  145. dannyboy says:

will lecras play this week? i still have him in my team i was originally gonna dump him for jjk but if he is playing this week(or even next week) ill dump karnesis for jjk instead. my other trade is vlastuin for heath for cash. need some thoughts on this one people

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Well you don't have to make this trade for awhile so why not wait until Thursday when the teams are announced and make your decision then…..?

  146. Dave says:

    What's better –

Dangerfield > Watson, leave Mundy to gain cash for a couple of weeks, then Mundy > Dangerfield at a lower price, and hopefully grabbing enough dollars to bring another premium in later
Mundy > Watson, leave Dangers in and save the trade

Basically, is the cash gained going to be worth the extra trade?

    • dannyboy says:

i would save the trade. you can make twice what u will off that by using it on getting the right rookies. set yourself up for later in the season. its a marathon, not a sprint

      • Dave says:

The only cash cow rookie I don't have is Campbell Heath. K Mitchell is my only underperforming rookie. Worth swapping those two?

        • dannyboy says:

i bought heath in because he is going to go up quickly and can be turned into cash for premiums quicker. if you dont have crouch maybe hold onto mitchell one more week as he will still rise a bit, then make that trade. mitchell will still go up a fair bit it just might take a touch longer

  147. JonahHELP says:

    Please Help – OUT : Siposs & T.Walker … IN: Monfries & Bartell — w/ 30k remaining
OUT: Siposs & T.Walker… IN: Rowe & Bartel —– w/ 230k remaining and then sub on neade for Rowe????

  148. Michael says:

My trades for this week: Zorko out, Jake Neade in
Currie out, Leuy in, swap Cox / Rowe Fwd / Ruc, bench Rowe, Leuy on field. Only thing is I'm torn on 2 counts: fear of Zorko exploding into form this week against GC, and fear of Leuy getting injured the week before he goes up in price (lol). What do you guys think?

    • Mr_Consistent says:

I like the Zorko for Neade trade, however I think you could wait the one extra week on Leunberger just so you can be sure he is the right pick.

  149. Spud says:

Hey Jock, new follower here. Love the work. Unfortunately I made the mistake of going Bennell and S. Selwood this season.. was expecting them both to break out. I've got rid of Selwood for Liberatore.. what are your thoughts on trading Bennell for Kane Lucas… or do I trade him out for Wines/Crouch? Thanks mate

    • Jimmy says:

Yeah I had Selwood myself and traded him in for little Libba. I think Selwood will come good this week though playing against the Dees so I would maybe even hold on to him if you could. Plus Kerr coming into the side in the next few weeks will also help his scores I believe. I needed to do the trade in order to get some cash up to use on my other trade which fixes up my structure. I then would trade Bennell for little Libba. Dont forget you still have one more week for Brad Crouch as he didnt play round 1.

      • Spud says:

Thanks heaps mate! Great advice. I might hold Selwood and just give Bennell the boot. I'll give Wines a miss and just get Crouch in next week. Cheers

  150. Sam says:

trading K.mitchell and Bennell out this week just not sure on which of these two options:
Watson and Dwyer or Moloney and Wines

    • Scott says:

I think you should go for Moloney and Wines. Moloney has been getting scores around 100 points and both players will increase in value quite nicely 🙂

  151. Bobby says:

Hey jock, love the podcast. I too am being laughed at by my fellow supercoachers and need some community assistance.
None of my smokies have performed and I need to make some changes. Just under 500 k in bank. Have Duncan, Steven and bennell and big tex and roughy up front. Am thinking Walker to Kennedy or Dwyer and bennell up to pendles? Have nearly all the rookies already. Any assistance would be appreciated. Cheers…

  152. Tim says:

    Hey the beloved community
    Which trade should I do
    Out of these 2
    1. Vlastuin out Heath in
    2. Karnezis out Dwyer in

    Please help!!!

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Probably wait until teams are announced, but probably Vlaustin to Heath, if Karnezis is named sub then Karnezis to Dwyer.

  153. killerKool says:

I am swinging cox into the forward line and trading Roughead to Minson and also trading Zorko to Neade

  154. Jimmy says:

Anyone know what I should do with Siposs? I think Sean Dempster getting injured will help his scoring but losing sleep over the fact that he got subbed

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Siposs has a Breaveven of 56, Wait for the teams to be announced and look if he's on the bench, if he is trade him for Kennedy, Dwyer, Neade or Macaffer….?

      • Jimmy says:

Yeah really good point about seeing if he is named on the bench or not. I might just have to wait and see for a week because ive used my trades:

1st trade is Selwoood for Libba
I had additional cash in the bank plus what I made from that trade, so I then swapped dean cox from my forward line to the ruck with sam rowe.
I then moved Sam Rowe on to the bench, brought in Tom Lee and then traded Tom Lee for Josh Kennedy.

Structurally I had to do it as before I was starting Blicavs in the ruck

  155. StevensJ says:

Hey guys any suggestions on what trades I should do:

    1) T. Lee out, D. Neade in
    2) K. Mitchell out, B. Crouch or O. Wines in
    3) N. Vlastuin or S. Colquhoun out, J. Pittard or L. Stevenson in

I should have made one of these trades last week.

    Any tips are greatly appreciated

  156. John says:

does anyone rate Lynch as a sub for Knesis?

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Lynch Has a BreakEven of 7 and is expected to raise by around 30k, if he continues to play a fair amount of time in the ruck I like the pick, but a little to inconsistent for my liking… maybe trade Karnezis down to a rookie?

  157. C-JAM says:

Buddy or Zorko out for Cox? Makes me feel uneasy but could pick them up later in the season at a discount. And cox will have a blinder this week.

    • Mr_Consistent says:

I wouldn't suggest trading any one of them out but if you did I think you should get franklin out, hawthorn have a much harder draw then Brisbane who have both Melbourne and Gold Coast in their next 3 games.

      • Scott says:

Buddy does have a good goal scoring record against the pies however. Could pick up big points this weekend 😉

  158. Stevo says:

What do you guys reckon about downgrading Delido to Mullett to generate some cash to fix an issue I have with my forward line ie Karnezis & Varcoe??

Do you reckon Mullett looks the goods to continue his form? From the two games I watched, i was bloody impressed. Can you see him averaging 100ish for the season?

    • Mr_Consistent says:

I can't see him averaging 100 maybe about 80ish, don't know why you would be wanting to trade away Deledio but if I was trading him I would put in Moloney.

      • Stevo says:

only reason for trading is to generate some cash. can always upgrade one of the rookies to lids in a few weeks. Im not going for outright winner, going for a league win.

        • Mr_Consistent says:

Fair enough mate, if you reckon that's the right decision and it could give you an edge over your competitors than click the trade button!

  159. Riley K says:

Hi guys Please help me with this one, its been doing my head in for the whole week so far.

    T/U: Trade Karnezies to Kennedy
    T/D: Dont do the trade.

    • Mr_Consistent says:

Kennedy is a must have I think, However if Karnezis isn't named sub it would be a shame to of traded him out. Is there anyone else under performing that you could trade out for Josh Kennedy?

      • Riley K says:

I had Roughead in the rucks, but traded him for Goldy and took the extra 60k. I'll post my team if you like?

        • Mr_Consistent says:

Sure, read my comment below….might change your mind???

          • Riley K says:

            Headaches Headaches…
DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Heppell, Goodes, Stevenson, Pittard (Terlich, Heath)
MID: Swan, Pendulbery, JPK, Jelwood, Cotchin, Wines, O'Meara, Viney (Crouch, K.Mitchell)
            RUCK: Goldstien, Luenburger (Blicavs, Currie)
FWD: Franklin, Cox, Rockliff, Bartel, Kennedy/ Karnezies, Neade (Macaffer, Rowe.

            $76,600 left.

            • Mr_Consistent says:

You have a great team, Karnezis to Kennedy is pretty much the only trade you'll need to make for a while if their is no injuries… Your decision???

  160. Mr_Consistent says:

Wow! Just found out Claye Beams has possibly done his ACL, Big news for those with Karnezis, possible that this could mean he is no longer one of the players on Vossy's sub list…… Thoughts???

    • Selwood says:

hmmm, does that mean this will bring back similar scores from the NAB Cup?!

      • Mr_Consistent says:

Probably not, but it does give him a much better chance of not being named the sub

    • Stevo says:

Doesn't look like it! Dropped from the team completely this week!

  161. Callum says:

Bennel TO: Wingard OR Roughead TO: ???

At this stage i think bennel to wingard. Bennels BE is 179 and roughy's is 173. Roughy will get closer to that than bennel PLUS although wingard has only played dees and gws, BUT he is 276,500 and a BE -71, and the other option being liba with a BE of -4, in terms of generating cash wingard is the better option. Port have the crows this round but history says that has not been a smashing each time.
    Any Thoughts?

      Bennell to Wingard/Wines/Moloney/Parker/Libba

      • chandanrajdb says:

Mullet from North Melbourne is also a very valid selection….averaging 112 approx…and played against 2 good teams (collingwood and geelong)…..BE of -69 (approx)…..

        • Stevo says:

Mullett looks to be set for a more consistent run.. can't judge Wingard on the first two games, plus his first game score wasnt all that flash anyway.

  162. Josh says:

Luke Brown or Heath? Who's the better downgrade option? I hear a lot about Brown playing a lock down role that restricts his scoring?

  163. Chooka says:

Can Leuenberger swing into the forward line? I want to trade him in for Roughead but dont want to be caught with four ruckmen that cant swing forward.

Currently have Pyke, Roughhead, Blicavs, Currie in ruck and Rowe and Cox in the forward line. If Leui goes in it might lock up my ruck department. Cheers

  164. Selwood says:

Roughead – Kennedy, Rowe – Dywer and 332k
(Swap Cox to RUCK and Roughead to FWD)

Roughead – Goldy, Karnezies – Kennedy. and 70k

    either way im doing it

Licking my lips at stevie j if named

    • The benchmark says:

And also because everyone is very much ablett orientated wouldnt it be smarter to put the vc on him and the c on someone who plays afterwards (keeping in mind gold coast dont play on a sunday arvo ect) that way u are not cursed when he does occasionally have that bad round and you have someone to fall back on. Got to me last week when gary scored poorly. Eg. This week swan plays a day after ablett.

  167. Blair says:

Trade Bolton for Kennedy wce or Dwyer????

  168. footyinme says:

    Have 286,400 banked

what should I do with my 2nd trade?

DEF – Goddard, Gibbs, Hanley, Roberton, Goodes, Pittard, (Stevenson, Terlich)

MID – Ablett, Pendlebury, JPK, Dangerfield, Mundy, Wines, O'meara, Crouch, (Viney, Kommer)

    RUCK – Jacobs, Rowe, (Blicavs,Currie)

FWD – Cox, Zorko, Rockliff, Martin, Kennedy, Macaffer, (Neade, Dwyer)

  169. Andrew says:

G'day gents, keep up the good work! I'm a little conflicted as to what to do with my last trade for the week… I've made my first trade (Rough out/ Leu in) and now looking at getting Howlett in and Bennell out. The problem is: do I use this as my last trade or look at getting Heath in at the expense of Terlich? I'd appreciate any advice the community can throw my way on this one…

  170. Jacob says:

    Hi community,
I am going to trade out Watts and Bennell but I don't know who I should trade them out for!

Here is what my team looks like at the moment:
DEF: Heppell, Gibbs, (WATTS), Goddard, B Goodes, L Stevenson, C Heath, Terlich.
MID: Pendlebury, Ablett, (BENNELL), Moloney, O Meara, Dangerfield, Viney, Shuey, Kommer, Wines.

If I trade Watts and Bennell out, I will have $805,000 (DT) left.
Any suggestions? Who should I trade in?

I would appreciate help very much!!!!

  171. Matt says:

Hey Jock, who gets your vote on replacing Karnezis , J.Neade or A. Monfries?
Keep in mind I already have Josh kennedy and Sam Dwyer in my side…

  172. Jon says:

Viney or Wines on the ground this week?

  173. Matt says:

Hey Jock, who gets your vote on replacing Karnezis , J.Neade or A. Monfries?

  174. Michael says:

Vacant spot in my forward line, q lynch or monfries?

    • Dish says:

Monfries out of those two, but if you havent already JJK (WCE) would be a top pick, price rise, shd get a decent score against Melb and the for the next 6 odd rounds.

  175. Tim says:

Who DEF rookie should I downgrade to out of Heath and Brown? Will brown play lock down roles?

    • Dish says:

Brown, as he is a certain starter most rounds and is coming into some good form.
Heath is starting on the Interchange bench to often, hard for him to get a game with the likes of Pittard and Stevenson playing so well.

  176. harry says:

hey jock, should i trade karnesis > dwyer and watts > cyril

watts > dwyer and terlich > birchall

then trade karnesis out next week. thoughts mate? cheers

ok so jobe sucked tonight, i hope danger scores 150 and all the people who sideways traded those two learn a lesson for next year

  183. Dom says:

Got 528 points from 5 players in the first game! That is including be rookie! Set for a big round this week!

  184. tommy says:

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  185. dannyboy says:

its a big round for all supercoaches i presume. im 1028 from 7 with captain played. on track for my biggest score this early in the season. just hope the rest of my team performs

  186. Podsi says:

"BRENT Macaffer's return has been stalled with the Collingwood goalsneak dropped from Nathan Buckley's side to meet Hawthorn on Sunday."

Tell me this is good enough reason to put the CAPT on Macaffer so that I can grab COX's SC points!

  187. Podsi says:

Brent Macaffer (Omitted) – can this be a good enough excuse to place the big C on him and take on COX's SC points…

  188. Jimbotraralgon says:

    Very happy all things considered.

Very happy with cox and jpk particularly.

Good to have leagye rounds here.

Just kicking back at the barossa valley with a couple of bottles of plonk and a few beers. None of that west end rubbish!

Day 3 of our trip around the country for 5 months. Doesnt get any better than this. Just hope the van picks of tv reception for tonights game.

I fear my supercoach will suffer shortly!

  189. Sulzeer says:

    Zorko replacements?

    • SCaddict says:

Yeah he's flat out killing us isn't he the little bugger!

Sunday night can't come soon enough to hit that T button although the pleasure will cost us $50K.

He's the last spud I have to get out of my team along with Karny who thankfully didn't play tonight so at least he didn't drop in value. Also allowed me to use the captain's loophole to double up on Big Cox so he wasn't totally useless unlike Zorko.

Zorko just can't seem to deal with a hard tag and every opposition has a focus on shutting him down now so we need to get off and get off NOW before any further damage is done.

      • Sulzeer says:

The upside was Rich hit some form, it was looking like they were both on their way but Rich gets a chance til round 6 now, varcoe and Zorko are gone! But for who… I've got plenty of cash just need to get creative, maybe GAJ

  190. James says:

Does the loophole work for an emergency or does it have to be a player who was not selected at all?

    • EPR says:

As long as he scores 0 then it will work. Be careful because if your emergency is brought in with a late change, ala Kieran Harper, you will be left with a premium on the bench.

  191. Harley says:
