Formidable outfit this season Crouch. Formidable.

    Heytman · 16/03/2013 at 13:15

Hey Jock, made my team a week back using the same strategy as Crouch after seeing that 'midfield madness' strategy in analysis. What do you think of it?

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Hartlett, Grimes, Vlastuin, Goodes B. SUBS: Stevensen, Colqohun.

MID: Ablett, Pendlebury, Shuey, Moloney, Whitfield, Wines, Mitchell, O-Meara SUBS: Viney, Crouch

RUC: Jacobs, Leuenbigburger (for now) SUBS: Rowe, Currie

FWD (set and forget): Franklin, Zorko, Bartel, Rockliff, Johnson, Karnezis SUBS: Macaffer, Neade

    jon nash · 17/03/2013 at 02:02

hello … should I have any money in the bank at kick off time …… spend or save b4 rd1 …. cheers

sam · 16/03/2013 at 11:33

great team mate yeah mine is better

Marc · 16/03/2013 at 11:37

Looking pretty good, Crouching! If the rookies fire for you, it'll be a tough team to beat I think. Probably the only person I've seen who's gone deep down back, but it makes does make a bit of sense to spend an extra bit of money and get a known performers like Grimes and Newman, rather than a riskier mid priced proposition like Shaun Atley or whoever who has a greater chance to flame out.

It's neck and neck between Crouching and Vinny Gambino for mine, tough call indeed. Look forward to seeing how my side goes against yours in the Premier League!

Ben · 16/03/2013 at 11:38

Not a big fan of that team too defence heavy not a fan of jenkins either

Rate my team please guys

Who should i trade i have 40K left over

DEF; Goddard, Gibbs, Birchall, Heppell, Vlaustin, Goodes (Stevenson, Terlich)

MID: Ablett, Pendulbury, Cotchin, Kennedy, Moloney, Wines, Crouch, Stevens
(Viney, O'meara)

RUCK: Jacobs, Currie (Witts, Rowe)

FORW: Roughead, Rockliff, Cox, Zorko, Varcoe, Macaffer (Dwyer, Neade)

Josh · 16/03/2013 at 11:38

Shaw outscore Goddard? Insert flying porcine animals here…

@Da_Mad_Irishman · 16/03/2013 at 11:46

Look forward to matching up against CrouchingTiger FC during the year. Great team old wise one ! I come to your gym later and you teach me exercise to have turtle shell stomach

SCaddict · 16/03/2013 at 11:59

That's an exceptionally clever and well thought out team Crouching so you get my vote. I'm quite impressed especially around your forward ruck strategy. I too am going with 6 midfield rookies (well if you say me Lucas-san in new Mick dojo = bloody white belt rookie!).

Also good to see a different look backline which looks perfectly justifiable to me.

Gee there's a common theme emerging here with the gun Frenchman up forward. I reckon that is hidden genius all right. But I wonder if this theme will continue through with Team Higgo and Team Jock???

Wazz · 16/03/2013 at 12:03

Alrighty Guys, any suggestions will be strongly considered.

Team

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Duff Man, Hanley, Vlastuin, Goodes, (Stevenson, Terlich)

MID: GAJ, Pendles, Danger, Gaff, Mundy, Stevens, Crouch, O'Mera, (Mitchell, Viney)

RUC: Roughead, Zac Smith (Currie, Moller)

FWD: Buddy, Zorko, Rockcliff, LeCras, Karnezis, Macaffer, (Neade, Rowe)

Hanley or Heppell?

Roughie or Sammy Jacobs?

Cheers Guys

Brendan Floggard · 16/03/2013 at 12:09

Haha! The hobbit Lord of the trouser ring.

Like your team Crouching – got my vote just because it is very unique.
Love your R4 dead ruck concept also.
Thanks

Tom · 16/03/2013 at 12:14

"Who this man? Who give bloody shit who this man is" :')

Poor Moller.

tim · 16/03/2013 at 12:24

Hey Crouching One how is my team looking??? its most likely the team for round 1 now

B/ Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Heppell, Vlastuin, Goodes,(Stevenson, Terlich)

M/ Ablett, Pendlebury, Dangerfield, Shuey, Moloney, Stevens, Wines, Mitchell,(O'meara, Crouch)

R/ Cox, Currie,(Rowe, Osbourn) going with you crouching with the doughnut 4th ruck

F/ Roughead, Zorko, Rockliff, Martin, Karnezis, Varcoe,(Macaffer, Neade)

with $44,000 in the bank

i have been tossing up between Heppell and Grimes but i decided Heppell for the time being.
Also how much roughly should you have left in the bank for the start of round 1??

How does my team rate against CrouchingOne's, Crimmim's & Gambino's??

    Eagle · 16/03/2013 at 16:35

As much cash as possible on the ground, minimal elsewhere.

GJI · 16/03/2013 at 12:29

hey boys,
I have Zorko but wondering whether to have:
Rockcliff/Mccaffer/Viney or Lucas/Karnezis/Varcoe

what you think?

Nicko · 16/03/2013 at 12:38

Looking for some feedback on this team. A bit of a different one with most rookies in the middle. I've forgotten about the lines and focused on the team as a whole. Any feedback is appreciated.

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Hartlett, Hanley, Goodes, Stevenson, Terlich,

MID: Ablett, Swan, Stevens, Vlastuin, Mitchell, Crouch, O'meara, Viney, Colquhoun, Kavanagh,

RUC: Jacobs, Currie, Rowe, Witts

FWD: Franklin, Cox, Pavlich, Zorko, Martin, Broughton, , Macaffer, Lee

$261,700 in the bank.

    NoSecondPrizes · 16/03/2013 at 12:53

Change Duffield to Heppel and Pavlich to Rocky. Plus dont like Lee… dont think he has AFL in him so look elsewhere there. Nice team and very different.

      Nicko · 16/03/2013 at 13:06

Thanks mate, still abit of tinkering to do with final selections. Just looking for feedback on overall team and strategy. Thanks for that.

    McFog · 16/03/2013 at 12:56

Get rid of Ablett and Swan, and put 2 rookies in

Mac · 16/03/2013 at 13:06

Voted crouching one but only just – Vince's weak rucks and Crimmin's midfield put me off them.

banz · 16/03/2013 at 13:47

I think Shaw is a good pick, problem is, Goddard will most likely play 22 and Shaw will most likely play 18, sure about that Crouching?

James · 16/03/2013 at 14:10

Hey Crouching One,

Just put your team into the Higginator and found that you will have 13 players not playing in the 1st bye and 11 not playing in the 3rd bye.

Is it best we forget the bye and tackle it as it approaches?

Apart from that it looks an excellent team.

Great stuff man.

    @PeterHiggo · 16/03/2013 at 14:42

I too did this check. Given Rookie upgrades and degree of trade change, I feel that this is not of great concern.

Crouching has always been one to ignore the bye round.

Still analysing ths team….. Surprised no Vlastuin, but then again, this suits his mid strategy.

      James · 16/03/2013 at 16:10

I think i'm going to into the season with the same approach as Crouching and just forget about the bye. As you say Higgo the degree of trade change and rookie upgrades should see me through the bye weeks.

Is your team reveal next Higgo?

Ando · 16/03/2013 at 14:12

Can i get a second opinion anyone
Def-Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Heppell, Vlaustin, Goodes (Stevenson, Terlich)

Mid- Dangerfield, J Selwood, Shuey, Montagna, Fyfe, Moloney, K Mitchell, O'Meara (Viney, Crouch)

Ruck-Bellchammbers, Currie (Witts, Rowe)

Fwd-T Walker, Rockliff, Martin, JJ Kennedy, Varcoe, Karnezis (Mcaffer, Lee)

Still have $405,900 left but i dont know where to spend it
tempted to get Yarran after last night but i dont know who to take out

    Brick · 16/03/2013 at 14:26

    GARY FRICKEN ABLETT! Ditch Montagna.
Upgrade Martin too – Taylor Walker and the crows have a superb opening run.

Nick · 16/03/2013 at 15:54

Nice team Crouching though I'd still take Goddard over Shaw.

Any advice guys on my team:

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Hanley, Vlastuin, B.Goodes, Pittard (Stevensen, Terlich)
Mid: Ablett, Swan, Pendlebury, J.Selwood, Lucas, Stevens, Wines, K.Mitchell (Crouch, O'Meara)
Ruck: Cox, Kreuzer (Rowe, Currie)
Fwd: T.Walker, Rockliff, S.Johnson, Hawkins, J.J.Kennedy, Karnezis (Macaffer, Dwyer)
Cash: $100

Thanks in advance

Deanbartel · 16/03/2013 at 15:59

I like the backline Sensei. Very very good man

Help me out someone;
Need to pick 3 from:

T. WALKER, D. ZORKO, S. JOHNSON, T. ROCKLIFF, D. MARTIN

Prepared to let my bench (Macaffer) take over for Stevey J in round 1.

    Nick · 16/03/2013 at 16:07

I'd take Walker, Johnson and Rockliff out of that

      Deanbartel · 16/03/2013 at 16:08

Not as impressed by Zorko's form as I am? I know it was the NAB cup but vsing a full strength Carlton lineup racked up 120+ last night

        Nick · 16/03/2013 at 16:14

I am a fan of him, but I think the other 3 will average moer. Once the real stuff starts I think he'll start copping hard tags to limit his influence.

          Deanbartel · 16/03/2013 at 16:21

Cheers mate. I agree that the other 3 should score more consistently.

Would you advise AGAINST having 3 GC players in my MID? (Ablett, Bennell, O'Meara)

            Nick · 16/03/2013 at 16:27

If you think they will all end up with the average you want out of them, then go for it. Team is almost irrelevant for me when selecting players. I only go by what I think they will average and byes.

            Marc · 16/03/2013 at 17:13

Should be fine, it's what i've gone with. O'Meara won't be starting every week for me, so i'm not worried about it.

    Eagle · 16/03/2013 at 16:28

Tex , Zork n Rocky are in my Fwds

Lochie · 16/03/2013 at 17:25

Alright guys here is my team!

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Birchall, Vlastuin, Goodes, Stevenson, (Docherty, Terlich)

MID: GAJ, Swan, Kennedy, Dangerfield, Lids, K.Stevens, K. Mitchell, O'Meara, (Crouch, Viney)

RUC: Roughie, Rowe, (Currie, Witts)

FWD: Cox, Walker, Zorko, Stevie J, Varcoe, Brynes (Macaffer, Lee)

$22, 900 left over. Any suggestions please make. Negative or positive. Thanks!

The Filth · 16/03/2013 at 18:00

Here is my team guys – comments welcome!

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Heppell, Newman, Vlastuin, Goodes, (Stevenson, Terlich)

MID: GAJ, Pendlebury, Kennedy, Dangerfield, K.Lucas, K.Stevens, Wines, K. Mitchell, (O'Meara, Crouch )

RUC: Jacobs, Currie (Rowe, Daw)

FWD: Franklin, Cox, Rockliffe, M Wright, LeCras, Karnezis (Macaffer, S Dwyer)

Backs: reasonably happy. Decided on Newman as D4 rather than a cheaper midprice or rookie

Mids: Lots of tinkering with the mids. Had Moloney who will do well, but changed to high price rookies plus Lucas. Left out Viney but not sure on this yet. Which rookie to leave out?

Rucks: Had Z Smith but decided on a premium in Jacobs with Currie a R2. Have Daw on bench as I figure he will play if Currie doesn't. Rowe as a DPP to bring Cox into the ruck if required or if Macaffer plays.

Forwards: Same problems as most but extra midprice allowing Macaffer as a bench player so I shouldn't score a doughnut in the forwards. Hoping Dwyer gets promoted for the Pies, may play when Macaffer doesn't too.

Not sure with the last of the forwards combo's – ideas?
M Wright / Lecras
D Martin / Lecras
Stevie J / Varcoe
Any other FWD $583k to spend / varcoe

Luke · 16/03/2013 at 18:44

Is shuey worth having?

@timbzy91 · 16/03/2013 at 20:12

Crouching your team is very nice, prefer it over Jocks. I was tempted to put 6 midfield rookies too but couldn't bring myself to do it. Roughed and Franklin will burn you big time

Luke · 16/03/2013 at 21:27

B – Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Heppell, Goodes, Terlich ( Stevenson, Docherty)

M – Swan, Pendles, Danger, Shuey, Fyfe, Stevens, Wines,Crouch (O'Meara Viney)

R – Jacobs Currie (Rowe Witts)

F- Cox Zorko Bartel Rockliff Karnezis Maccafer (Kerridge Dwyer)

$141,000 left

Do you like my side?
Any helpful tips?
Would it be worth getting hartlett instead of heppell?
Please give some feedback

Josh · 16/03/2013 at 21:53

I like it! My only concern with the 6 mid rookie strategy is, will there be dirt cheap, playing rookies to downgrade to? I fear getting stuck with that many rookies. I've posted this question a few times around here but haven't got much feedback. Thoughts? Let's discuss this! It seems like a major risk to me or am I missing something? Cheers 😉

    Josh · 17/03/2013 at 00:30

I reckon it's 50-50 with Hep and Hartlett. I think Heppell will be consistently pushing the 100 mark with occassional big scores and I don't know enough about Hartlett but sounds and looks like he'll be around that too if he doesn't get injured again

Sam · 16/03/2013 at 22:20

Hey guys, any thoughts on my team. Have 91k in the bank.

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Heppell, Goodes, Stevenson (Vlastluin, Turlich)

MID: Ablett, Pendlebury, Watson, Cotchin, Moloney, Stevens, Wines, O'Meara (Crouch, Viney)

RUC: Cox, Longer (Rowe, Currie)

FWD: T.Walker, Rockliff, Johnson, LeCras, Karnezis, Macaffer (Kerridge, Neade)

If Luenberger doesn't play round 1, I'll play Longer until Luenberger returns, where I'll trade Longer for him. I was tossing up between Cox and Jacobs for a while but eventually chose Cox who will score 120+ until Nic Nat returns. Also, stuck between Karnezis, Varcoe and LeCras, i can get two of them but which ones? With the premium mids Ablett, Pendlebury, Watson and Cotchin, I wouldn't mind Dangerfield, but who would I trade him for?

All thoughts appreciated, cheers 🙂

Dom · 16/03/2013 at 23:15

This is my team:

DEFENDERS: B.Goddard, B.Gibbs, P.Duffield, D.Heppell, B.Goodes, N.Vlastuin (L.Stevenson/D.Terlich(E))

MIDFIELD: G.Ablett (C), S.Pendlebury(VC), P.Dangerfield, S.Sidebottom, N.Fyfe, K.Stevens, O.Wines, J.O'Meara (K.Mitchell(E)/B.Crouch)

RUCK: S.Jacobs , D.Currie (J.Witts(E)/M.Daw)

FORWARD: L.Franklin, T.Walker, D.Zorko, L.Jetta (Syd), P.Karnezi, B.Macaffer (S.Rowe(E)/S.Kerridge)

free lance · 17/03/2013 at 10:17

me likey your team clouching one but why you say me Moller don't matter? i sink he matter, i sink he inwolve in captain loophole, i hab same idea…welcome…

Polar Bear · 17/03/2013 at 11:01

Gday Crouch,

Ive gone the same midfield strategy startup with four Prems the rest rookies. Will equal lots of $$$ later on to upgrade to the best performers of 2013 and some wins. Put the saved money from the midfield into my forward line since not many rookies to choose from this year up forward. Hopefully pays off or may crash and burn early

clinnywinny · 17/03/2013 at 18:15

ahh master crouch….
very good. One cant help but be impressed by your wealth of wisdom. One may even go so far as to say
'THE ORACLE OF KNOWLEDGE'
Yet, let me pose you this. While not giving too much away, I have gone a complete rookie midfield. And completely gunned all other positions. Like my chopstick to a fly, when my rookies are ripe and either the gun mids drop in price (and they will) or the cheaper mids rise in value, One will POUNCE upon them. leaving almost all of ones team a POD.
One is aware of the controversial tactic, and many may not receive with open arms. BUT listen closely grasshopper……. p………o……..d……. embrace it

team changa · 18/03/2013 at 18:55

lake and rocky or zorko and moloney ??
