TRIGGA’S SUPERCOACH FINALS ROUND 3

Happy Ending – 3rd Week of the AFL Finals

This weekend was do or die, no second chance anymore. If you can’t stand the heat then maybe you are better off planning Mad Monday.

Demons v Hawthorn

The old proven finals contender up against the young up and comer. This game like most was decided by opportunity. Hawks had plenty of chances especially in the 2nd when then kicked 6 points and even late in the game when Gunston smashed the ball into the post but just didn’t make the most of their chances.

The demons on the other hand took their chances whether that be a torpedo that went so far it had frost on it that resulted in Tmac goal or big Maxy defying the time off ground bench management system and using his nouse to stay on that big longer going up against roughead giving the demons an easy clearance that gave them another goal. This team is all about pressure, risk and reward.

Umps didn’t help with some howlers on both sides but the taking the knees has to take the cake. Surely this should only apply if the guy going for the ball slides into the legs of a player going for the ball (so second to the ball) and not when a guy is on the ground with the ball and a player falls over the top of them??

The Demons were the eventual winner and travel to WA to take on WC next week – this has left many asking “Why not us”? Anywhere, anytime.

As for the hawks well we know there will be something in the pipeline (there always is) so we will wait and see….

Pies v GWS.

Memo GWS this is a final you have to turn up from the first bounce. Pies kicked away first quarter (should have been a lot further ahead if they had a better conversion rate), this would prove decisive, GWS never really recovered – Game over.

Shout out to Maynard who did is best take on a Michael Jackson impression with a twist as he wore his green glove all game.

Not sure why Victorian teams are so keen on Shiel ? Again he had a so so game with an ordinary disposal efficiency they should look at his mate in Whitfield – electric in the back half.

Pies won the game and now set up an AFL promoters dream with a final against the reigning premiers on Friday night. Good luck getting a ticket to that one.

Supercoach

Borealis joined the winners circle taking out week 2. His team finished with a score of 1,347 for the round which was 15 points ahead of Finnius in second place. Lucky that the team was locked out and you couldn’t swap out Treloar eh?

The table for the top 5 scorers for Round 2 can be found below:

Nice to see Lek in there with some left field selections. To see how your team performed be sure to check the graph and table in the Round 2 spreadsheet.

Similar tale this week – those teams that didn’t have Green who bombed with a 27 finished up the top of the leader board. Why do we suckered in by Tobias?

Best captain pick was Max Gawn with the Capt Obvious team nailing this selection. Lachie Whtifield was the highest scorer for the round – no one had the captain Guernsey on Lachie.

Well we are half way – how is your happy ending looking?

The leaders at this stage are:

Must say hats off to team Borealis who not only took out week 2 but is leading the way with a score of 3,030 after two rounds. Borealis is the only team over 3,000 points after two rounds which when taking the captain into account is an average of 100 points per player. Considering some of the scores the players have put up that is an amazing effort.

It is gonna take some serious strategic thinking to catch Borealis from here.

Again if you want to know how your team is going overall look in the spreadsheet under the graph and table in the TOTAL SC SCORES tab.

Unfortunately this week we had 3 teams who didn’t submit a team and other teams who either didn’t put in a captain or selected a captain in a position that has already been used. A couple of other teams still had JOM in their team, gotta make sure you check those final teams!

Week 3

We all should know the rules by now so I am not going to post them again, if you need to check back in the last article for a run-down of the rules.

Week 3 of Finals: (From 4 Teams participating – Maximum of 3 players from each team):
•12 Players consisting of:

o3 Back
o5 Midfield
o1 Ruck
o3 Forwards

I have created a new spreadsheet for week 3 of the finals which can be found on the link below.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jo-Xn017JKa0DndGPM8nDWFSYydwBE9jS3cWuBfZNWA/edit?ts=5b9e3515#gid=0

You have until the first bounce on Friday to submit you teams.

Please enter your team in the same spot as the graphs are linked to each team.

Please ensure you select your captain from an area of the ground that you have not used before. I have made a note on each team the captain choice used in the first two games.

A couple of mottos for this weeks finals:

Tiges V Pies – “If it bleeds it can be killed”

Demons v Eagles – “Esprit de Corps”

Gone to my happy place back in a few….

  3. Russty_ says:

Got my team in Trigg, looking forward to being in the bottom 15% again haha.

  4. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Top 4 last week top 4 this week but have made up 14pts. Maybe another 14 pts this week? 🤔

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Yeah u r within striking distance mate …
Shake move may just do the trick…

  5. Defying_Madness says:

Looking forward to the trade period. Hawks have been linked to Wingard, Billings, Shiel, McGovern and May so far and any number of these players coming over could drastically improve our team.

With regards to team selection this week, I think it will come down to getting the right Richmond players which is bloody hard to do considering how even spread they are.

  6. WTFoxtrot_58 says:

    Hey Trig

Are you able to check my captain for week 1.
In the comments I had big Maxy but the sheet has the C against Lloyd. Need to work out who I give the C urse to this week.

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

WT yep had maxy as capt rd 1
changed the comment should say ruck not back
you have a back and mid left as capt

      • WTFoxtrot_58 says:

        Hey Trigga,

Team as below. Will points for round 1 be recalculated?
        Max had 107 x 2 v Lloyd 80 x 2.

        Back – (C) Yeo , Tmac, Howe.
Mid – Cotchin, Martin, Oliver, Sheed, Sidebottom.
        Ruck – Grundy.
        Forward – Higgins, Harmes, Darling.

  7. Great fact hunt says:

Hi trigga still locked as view only cheers

  8. MadPunter says:

Hey Guys Brody Grundy @ $21 for the brownlow. Any other Pies taking votes off him this year?

    • dontblushbaby says:

Now $15, great each way bet, top 5 also

    • MadPunter says:

Grundy still @ $21 at Ladbrokes, Bet365, PointsBet, Bookmaker, Betstar and $25 at Betfair. Maybe I'll only risk a ton on the big bloke and another ton on Cripps for top 3. Can't see Max finishing top 5 but can't find anyone taking bets for him to finish 6th or lower

Basically $5 across the board for anyone but Tiges to win flag. If the Dees can get over the weagles and stay @ $5 its worth a $100 flutter.

  9. neil demons delight says:

The taggers could have a huge bearing on the W C -DEES game The Dees look likely to tag YEO with HARMES and McGovern with MELKSHAM whilst W C will employ HUTCHINS on OLIVER Too close to call go dees

    • Russty_ says:

Hey Neil, you reckon Fritschy was a bit hard done by or did he deserve to get the chop for Smith?

      • dontblushbaby says:

Smiths a gun ,son of Sean, will play 200 games imo

      • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

I reckon he is the hard luck story of the finals

if anyone wants to have smith in their team let me know as I dont think he is in the drop down at the mo .

        • Russty_ says:

Yeah heard Goodwin must be worried about all the talls at W.C hence the change, Fritsch would be a pretty good chance to play in the GF…IF they get there. Must leave a pretty sour taste though if they don't make it.

      • neil demons delight says:

It was either him or Spargo and for team balance Bayley had to go . I would have had an unchanged team.

  10. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Clovelly Sharks – your team used a mid captain last week please select a captain from fwd or back position

  11. neil demons delight says:

Just seen a video of Aaron vanderberg's goal from a metre on the wrong side of the mid cicle. it bounced 1 metre out for a goal. Never seen one longer maybe Blighty's

    • MadPunter says:

Back in the day when footy was played by footballers and they used the same ball all game there were heaps of monster goals at the MCG. Jeff Fehring or Ferring kicked at least one from from defensive side of the centre. John Nicholls kicked a couple from frees at centre bounces 1 of them in the final quater with a soggy ball. I think even Fred Swift kicked a drop-kick goal from near centre and he was a full back.
Blights was at princes park which was a fair bit shorter than most grounds except scg.
Vandenbergs was a good kick but remember it was a brand new ball in very light air.

      • neil demons delight says:

I seen Fehrings That was a monster Nicholls also was huge.Must be remembered Blight's went thru post high but I agree Fehring's was the longest NDD

  12. Kiwisrule says:

Hey can someone change my team, I can't at the moment, team name is kiwisrule
    Yeo hurn Howe
    Adams dusty Sidebottom Oliver redden
    Grundy
    Riewoldt Lambert harmes

  13. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

    Pendals Oliver Redden Sidebottom Cotchin
    Grundy
    McDonald lambert darling
    My capt Yeo.
    Tnx Trigga 🙂🍻

    • hedski says:

      Massive game tonight Shaker!
Can the pies play out the full game and cause an upset? 🍻

      • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Wont be long b4 ill be on my way! All thing even l dont hold to much hope need to many things to go our way l think Hedski. Just hope the Dees get up in Perth because l dont give much hope to the eagles either if they make it.

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

      done
though cant see a shake and bake fake in that lot 🙂

    • Neil Demons Delight says:

Yeo will be tagged by Harmes Shake Hope your Pies win 2 nite mate Nothing I would like better than a G F win over the PIES That and my lovely wife will talk to me tomorrow Cheers mate NDD

      • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Will find out very soon Neil!! Dont hold much hope tonight buddy but think the Dees can be a better opponent then the eagles against the tigers!

  14. hedski says:

Moved into 5th overall last week, happy with that.

    HEDSKIS BURNMEN – Week 3.

    Howe, Rance, Yeo.
    Treloar, Dusty, Sidebum, Redden, Oliver.
    Gawn.
    Caddy, T-Mac, Darling (C).

Cheers Trigga, might be a rash captains call but need to do something a bit different.
Big games this week, love the prelims 👍🍻

    • neil demons delight says:

Don't do it Hedski go Tmac the great

      • hedski says:

Might need him as my def cap next week if your Dees get thru Neil.

        • Neil demons delight says:

You're going OK Hedski I thought if I am close enough a mid capt for the last may help and there will be plenty available. good luck

  15. Derek says:

Can someone put the bunnies in

    Howe, Yeo, McGovern

Oliver C, Pendlebury, Adams, Cotchin, Shuey

    Gawn

    Lambert, DRioli, TMac

  16. PremiershipEagles says:

I hope the AFL let the umps call the first 1 or 2 quarters fairly tonite. The mental head start that AFL's 'preferred winner' gets from those early dodgy calls and 'unseen' non-calls is massive if they leave the interfering until the final quarter at least the players wont be second guessing themselves everytime that they go near the ball. 4 umps can't miss so many surely
I'll be very suprised if any free kicks are paid against Dusty and I'm almost positive that he'll get a couple of gift goals from the umps, tha AFL have been really pumping him up in the media as a likely back-to-back brownlow winner despite his very average 8-game streak mid season, something fishy there.
Bad luck to the Dees but they were never gunna win a final this year without the umps help and that wont happen in Perth

    • Russty_ says:

Seeing as how Shaun Ryan, a Barrister from Warrnambool and a 6 time grand final Umpire, Matt Stevic, from Leongatha Vic, 4 grand final games, came up in the Gippsland Umpires Association are both not from W.A, I think your Dees theory is a bit thin, Brett Rosebury is from W.A but has Umpired in 7 grand finals…I'm guessing he wouldn't have got the gig if he was a corrupt cheat as you suggest.
All 3 Umpires have over 300 games of experience each.
I did hear though that the real Headquarters of the AFL is actually in Area 51 and is run by the smoking man…who is also an Alien from another planet. Their master plan is to splice Human AFL player dna with Alien dna to make stronger and faster players, and the mating process is made easier with their designated Alien Wag wives.
Fox Mulder is still trying to expose this truth but him and Scully are getting a bit older now so it's getting more difficult.

I'll be looking to enjoy this week's finals regardless of if a few Umpire's calls may be incorrect or not, because the team who plays better and scores more goals will inevitably win the game, go figure!
But you enjoy your little theories…must be hard to enjoy a game though when you're convinced there's some higher power at work looking to sabotage an actual fair result, anyways, to each their own.
      Go Dees!

      • flagpies says:

Dusty has a great chance of winning the Brownlow again for the same reason that he won by so much last year.
Ever since his Dad was deported for being a rubbish AuPair Dusty has generated more news in NZ than any other AFL story eg more stories in NZ media about AFL (mainly Dusty and his Dad) after brownlow win and premiership than the previous 5-YEARS combined.
Don't be suprised to see Tiges play an Anzac Day game in Wellington soon, NZ is the next expansion target and the AFL will do whatever it thinks is best to break into that market. If that means Dusty gets 6-brownlows and Premierships over next 7-years that's what will happen. sorta sux but its for the good of the game apparently.
I'm wondering how long until Big Cox gets his AA nomination for being American 🙂

      • flagpies says:

Bit gullible mate. Umps are employees and do exactly what their bosses tell them to do.

        • Russty_ says:

It's not about being gullible mate, it's about reality, Umpires do their best to be impartial, if it were really proven that Umpires are tainted and are being "told" what to do, it would destroy the game as we know it.
With all the money at stake, I don't think the AFL would risk that kind of corruption (match fixing). The game would never recover.

      • Neil Demons Delight says:

Go get some players to the saints Actually Russty Scully would be excellent down Moorabbin Totally agree with you NDD

  17. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

If you are not at the G
    settle in

    Gonna be EPIC!!

  18. PREMIERSHIP DEMONS says:

The two best teams IMO ,play tonite with the Tiges being a cut above. The other game is a coin toss so I disagree Premiership whatever, the Dees are well in it regardless of umpiring Just remember son –the cream will rise to the top ,GAWN VINEY TMAC and co. GO THE MIGHTY DEES NDD

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

      hard to argue PD

      going early arent we??
good on ya – are you catching the red eye or happy to watch the game at the local tomorrow?
      why not embrace it eh?

best 4 teams in 2018 playing this weekend hawks a bit unlucky to have two bad ones in a row but think they peaked a bit early and had a couple of youngster who spooked during the finals.

So much for mitchell and priddus retiring didnt impact the team from the west – others got their chance and grabbed it with both hands.

      yep should be EPIC!

      • Neil Demons Delight says:

Hawks and CATS close to the others though north and doggies will go close 2019 trouble is those top 4 will improve too Watching the 64 game a few times to get set we won that one

    • Russty_ says:

Good luck to the Dees for this week mate..if they want it bad enough, they'll go and get it, regardless of any of the ficticious theories about Umpire corruption.

  19. Ahmad rubas says:

    yeo tmac brayshaw
    dusty oliver treloar cotchin redden
    grundy
    jjk lambert de goey

  20. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

    Hot pies 🥧

  21. hedski says:

Jeez did Lekdog bang Cox in his side again??

  22. Russty_ says:

It's the Umpires guys…the Umpires I tell ya, if not for them, Richmond would be winning….:)

    • PremiershipEagles says:

Not yet sort of. Bizarre game, so far no over-rules by an ump 50-metres from the action. I only counted 3 dropping the ball by tiges players in their own fwd in the 2nd quarter that were ignored by the 4 umpires but sadly for the tiges they couldn't capitalise on their luck. A couple of holding ball by tiges in their backline also overlooked by all 4 umpires lucky for tiges or they'd be 10 goals down by now.
I predict the umps will give a good 10-minutes of favourable calls to tiges in 3rd and maybe another 10 in the final quarter

  23. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

    Cmooooon 🙏😬🤦‍♂️

  24. PremiershipEagles says:

I suppose there's always the possibility that the AFL didn't have a preferred winner in tonights game. Similar membership numbers with each team and no real fairy-tale regardless of who wins. That's obviously the recipe for an un-influenced game of footy.

  25. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Wow l just cant believe it 😭

  26. Russty_ says:

Bad luck to all the Tigers fans…congrats to all the Pies fans, should be a great Grand Final no matter who they're facing.

  27. Defying_Madness says:

The one week I didn’t start Crisp. RIP

  28. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

    Flagpies?

    Scary.

  29. AuroraBorealis?! says:

I am in absolute shock, can't believe we actually made a grand final after all the shit years we've had. My father was a huge collingwood supporter and he passed away 3 weeks ago, i hope the boys can do him proud next week

  30. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

    How about that lads?
It did bleed and its finals hopes r dead.
    Scores updated.

Shake pulled a shake move the only 1 with vlastin and leads with a score of 608.

Ahmad picked grundy as capt. Nice 146 ×2 there.

Kelly gang nailed all the magpies top scores.

Good luck to all for the rest of the round …

    • hedski says:

I'll be dropping down the rungs this week, shocking start.

      • neil demons delight says:

same here Hedski Lambert and Dusty let me down as per normal in 2018. Interesting to see Lambert hearing footsteps and dropping a mark late Not a good look

        • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Going all right at half time in this one Darling Redden and Yeo capt. Brayshaw McDonald and Oliver.

          • Defying_Madness says:

Anyone who dodged Viney would be pretty happy. I picked him though unfortunately

          • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Reckon we may have a new clubhouse leader after today…

  31. AuroraBorealis?! says:

I hope your Dees can get over the line today NDD, would be a great grand final if you did

    • neil demons delemma says:

Good luck to you next week AB I am sure your father will be looking down with pride

  32. Defying_Madness says:

Darling and captain JJK off to great starts. Hopefully this works out

  33. Russty_ says:

Wow Eagles off to a fast start, these turnovers are really hurting the Dees, hope they can get back into it.

  34. PremiershipEagles says:

We'd be 6 goals up if the umps weren't carrying Melbourne. Pitiful from the AFL

    • Defying_Madness says:

Yeah the umpring is atrocious. Margin flatters the demons

    • Russty_ says:

You should just keep pishing and moaning about it…maybe something will change

  35. PremiershipEagles says:

Who said Melb wouldn't have won a final without the umps support? Me and it's being proven this game coz even with the benefit of the doubt and 4 or 6 unlikely calls in their favour the dees are getting smashed.

  36. PremiershipEagles says:

look out Flogpies coz we're coming for ya and even with the obvious ump support that you'll get we'll still smash ya.
Go eagles even when we play against 26 we win.
Brayshaw drops ball cold but gets a free for holding the man, Hibberd smashes ball away after OOF but no 50mtr penalty, Kennedy pushed under with both hands in his back but all 4 umps miss it but yeo barely touches a dee who drops an easy and its paid for in the back

  37. Defying_Madness says:

    JJK <3

  38. PremiershipEaglesyay says:

If we weren't so far in front we'd be absolutely furious about the amount incorrect disposal the Dees are getting away with. seems like 2 totally different interpretations of the rule depending on the colour of your jumper

    • Russty_ says:

Would you like some cheese with your whine…all you ever seem to do is whine, this forum is only about the end of year game.
Surely you don't want everyone to just think you're a pathetic whiner?

  39. PremiershipEagles says:

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha suck that afl

  40. neil says:

Watch out PIES this mob are just too good Umpiring is poor but lets hope next week is better.

    • AuroraBorealis?! says:

WCE are a good team neil, but i think this is more a case of Melbourne making them look good. They've been horrid today

      • neil says:

Spot on AB both the Tiges and Dees had forgettable games. They are better than that.

    • PremiershipEagles says:

I agree about the umpiring mate if they'd been calling it the same for both teams your mob wouldn't have a goal yet

      • neil says:

good luck next week west coast deserve it

        • Defying_Madness says:

Dees will be better for it in the long run one would think. Should be up and about next year and hopefully learn from the finals experiences.

        • Russty_ says:

Commiserations for today Neil, your boys just didn't show up unfortunately, nothing to do with Umpires as that obsessed nutjob keeps banging on about, as DM said, they'll be better for the experience, even if it is a humiliating one…and they'll come back stronger next season.

          • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Imagine if u were one of those poor souls that drove from Melb to watch the game.

            Be a looooonggg trip back.

            • Russty_ says:

Yeah it'll be a tough trip back, and then the arrival, but the Dees have had a great year compared to where they were a few years ago…they'll learn and get better from this painful experience.

          • PremiershipEagles says:

hahaha yeah fall into line with business direction dopey. The Dees wouldn't have gotten to this game without the obvious umpire favoritism. I have been highlighting how they are corrupting the great Australian game for financial benefit and you're defending them. All I want is an fair competition in every game but it seems all that you want is whatever the afl says. You're a sheep without eyes or courage

            • Russty_ says:

You're a complete nutjob, who's obsessed with every decision the AFL or Umpires make during a game, you are completely separated from reality…but you wouldn't know that, because you are obviously insane.
The only thing you've been highlighting is what a complete mental case you are, and then posting those mental thoughts in a public forum….LOL…way to expose yourself.
All your ridiculous theories about all the alleged corruption and favouritism are purely conjecture, coming from a an obsessed very unhealthy mind.
You are so obsessed with the thought that everything is fixed that you have lost a solid grasp on reality, even when your team was winning by 9 goals, you were still crapping on about all the extra free kicks paid to Melbourne.
Hey maybe try this, try watching the game, and enjoying your team winning, without having to whine about every single decision made?… just makes you look like a complete nutbag.

          • neil demons delemma says:

Thanks Russty you are correct the DEES finished 3rd What an effort. Just didn't turn up to the big dance. May may help and Pruess. but really they have the personnel except RUDI WEBSTER for those with good memories Thanks to all the forum gems for making this year FUN . retain your trades you will need them cheers fellas NDD

            • Russty_ says:

Yeah mate…retain your trades all right!…I thought I'd be ok this year but still ran out…in the worst possible week.

  41. PremiershipEagles says:

Melbourne already got another afl record, most frees for as a % of total possessions in a team beaten by ten goals

  42. PremiershipEagles says:

Melbournes best four are all wearing yellow/green and grey shorts again. Go figure

  43. Premiership2018 says:

    LOL at Channel 7
According to them Mason Cox's game last night was the best individual performance in finals history!
    GGF

    • Derek says:

They made such a big thing about Cox being from USA. Have they forgotten the efforts of Pyke from Canada?

      • BobtheHuman says:

That's a great point you make Derek and Pyke could actually play football to.
Channel 7 convieniently overlook the fact that the USA has had a Dual conference National Aussie rules competition for almost as long as Australia has had a national comp AND their National womens comp has more teams than Australia's and has been running for almost a decade longer.
Maybe if Cox came from a country like NZ where Australian footy is almost outlawed he could be considered 'special' but more than a dozen yanks far better at footy than him have done preseasons with AFL clubs he only got a gig because his Dad's actually a giraffe.

    • neil says:

Don't think W C will bother putting their best defender to hlm. De goey is more dangerous and cox is poor below the knees. A lot of those marks were on the lead as well wont happen against a good team

Rusty you can call me all the names that you want to but that wont change the facts. Go and watch the replays of the finals that Dees won mate and count how many first half decisions were totally different depending on which jumper the player wore. The same thing happened today but the eagles were good enough to overcome that obstacle.

I'd like to be gracious in victory but the fact is that Melbourne didn't deserve to be there and wouldn't have been there if it wasn't for the blatant support from the afl/umpires in their other games. The unfortunate result was a one sided game where a team that deserved to be there faced a team that didn't and it resulted in a terrible spectacle for everybody except eagles supporters. Hopefully the afl have learned their lesson and wont try to manipulate results for commercially favourable results/games in future.

    • Russty_ says:

Oh you've changed your name for the tenth time today…very respectable, bearing in mind before SC 66 was banned he was busted by Lekdog for impersonating no less than 9 different identities…go figure!
You have no idea what a fact even means pal…your paranoia as real as it may seem in your mind…isn't actually real, it's all just inside your head…which is quite sick LOL
All the conspiracy theories, you've been spamming this forum with lately…are all constructs from your mind, they're not actually reality…sorry, but get some help, you need it.

      • Flagpies says:

I don't believe that you've already watched the replays that were suggested. You're holding on to a dream Rusty read my short analysis of the result

        • Russty_ says:

Do you mean you..or Adamsimpson, or Eaglesforpremiers…or Eaglesforpremiersyay, or Flagpies. or scwow or sc66..no one cares about your replays pal, only about the result.
You..and or your friends (or all one person)…not sure, are the only ones who care about replays, we're all just here trying to enjoy our end of year supercoach game. I'm not really sure why you felt the need to come here and push your paranoid agenda onto everyone…(who really don't care)…about how the entire AFL and Umpires etc are all corrupt.
No one gives a shit mate…and no one believes that's true…except for you and your multiple personalities.

          • neil says:

Every team has a down day Today was ours .All the things we were number one at all year went out the door. Contested ball inside 50's clearances were poor In the 2 other finals we were on top of these and deserved to win even though both the Hawks and Cats played great football.I would suggest if there was an agenda by the AFL then like the NRL and Storm they would support WA not Melbourne. As Russty says no one believes that's TRUE umpires do their best without compromise. Congrats pies and eagles may itbe a great G F.

            • Russty_ says:

Just a bad day mate, nothing to be ashamed of although I'm guessing they will be a little bit embarrassed about what happened but shit like that happens sometimes, once when I was playing grade Cricket we got bowled out for 19, and I made 13…lol, it was just an unmitigated disaster and there was no way to explain how it happened, it just happened.
The good news is, the Dees are competitive again mate and will be next season also…no doubt.

    • The Duck says:

      Hi Adam.
How's your wife going mate? Does she miss me?

  45. Flagpies says:

Well done eagles bring on the GF.
In response the repeated accusations of afl/umpire interference I want to point out that the eagles appeared to prefer a rushed clearance to a 50-50 or 40-60 rather than keeping the ball in a close contest where the umpires could interpret things negatively for them. That was the difference

  46. Great fact hunt says:

Hi mr Simpson you must love your footy. You spend the whole game watching the umpires.

  47. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

    Hey fellow enders.

Complete domination by the eagles. Super impressive. Is there a better fwd line in the AFL?

    Scores are updated

Dontblushbaby was the top scorer and with shakers scored over 1300 for the round.

Dusty and viney quicksand. Much like their teams.

Shake n bake making a late run for overall.

    Grand final next week.

Might spice it up and put in a norm smith selection for an extra 100 points?

    • neil says:

Thanks for your efforts in this ENDING Trigg it's only a bit of fun and bragging rights. Articles like yours make it fun. I can only hope the site continues the way it finished. You will always get the odd the goose like the current AFL/ UMPIRES friend but they move on—- No need for this or 69 ./ Waste Of Words

    • AuroraBorealis?! says:

      I like that idea Trigga

    • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

      • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

        Luv the comparison. 😊

      • Russty_ says:

Both would be good shake but the Pies bringing it home for you would have to be the ultimate prize right? 🙂

        • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Definitely Russty, cant stop thinking about everything that might happen before and after!!

    • neil demonsdelight says:

thinking a Shark move myself IF selected Kirby as captain NO one will have him

    • Russty_ says:

Well done Trigs, appreciate all the effort you've made mate writing all the leading articles and setting this whole thing up, has been fun even though I've fared terribly …lol, only blight on the whole thing was the escaped mental patient that felt the need to insert himself in here..but it's probably just someone we all already know trying to exact some kind of revenge or something…rather pathetic really.

      • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

        thanks mate
was wondering if it was appreciated but on the whole seems to be the case.
just wrote a rippa closing article for the final game – has been a bit of fun have enjoyed writing the articles and extending the season that bit longer

treat it like a fire rusty.
don't feed it or give it any oxygen and it will go out soon enough.

        • Russty_ says:

Oh yeah hahaha I get it mate but you know I can't let an injustice go unpunished, but we all really do appreciate all your efforts mate, it's been great fun and I realise how much effort went into what you've done..writing anything is never easy if it's for public consumption and yours has always been engaging, informative and entertaining, so great job bud!
And I've seen first hand, how long it takes you just to enter those scores, I saw you doing it live in week 2.

  48. neil demonsdelight says:

Do we have some sort of forum for the trade period and off season and the BBL

    • dontblushbaby says:

That would be good with the trade period , I play BBL in Draftstars, but some leagues would be good also

    • BannedDob says:

You can't beat Ricky Nixon on Twitter for trade and draft info Neil it's where all the 'experts' get their inside info
