TRIGGA’S SUPERCOACH FINALS GAME

By TRIGGA HAPPY.

Well the home and away season has been run and won. Congrats to those of you that were able to salute in the big dance and stand on the winners dias at the end of round 23.

But what about the rest of us and what now as the supercoach season has come to close or has it?

How many of us want a Happy Ending?
C’mon mind out of the gutter as this is the JR crew this can only mean one thing:
Supercoach Finals!

Even if you had the year from hell, want some redemption or had your best season to date you can still have a happy ending. Imagine being the best performer in the finals series, you would have the all sorts of bragging rights over the JR flock and this would surely stir the tank to get you up and about and to look towards the preseason and 2019 AFL season.

So before you hire a slasher to mow that overgrown lawn, or end up in hospital from the mild heart attack you may have when you finally got to look at the credit card statement and see what the missus had been up to during the footy season. You will have to put that on hold because if the herald sun won’t come to the party then I’m going to create my own version of Supercoach Finals.

  1. So without any further ado here it is. It was a lot of fun in its first year but now let’s take it up a notch this year. Here it is – my version of Supercoach finals!

    Changes:
Blank canvas. Start again. (Every Week)
•No salary cap! That’s right you can pick whoever you like without breaking the bank as there is no bank as long as it is within the rules as set out below.
    • Can’t have the same captain each week. No vice captain.
    •No Bench
Sounds easy right? Well here are the rules.

    Rules:
    1. Maximum number of players from each team as set out in rule 8 below. (with 8 teams playing week 1 of the finals that is 2 players from each)

  2. Players must be named in the supercoach positon that they were given during the regular season (i.e. Dangerfield can’t be a forward)
  3. Captain selection. As there are 4 finals the captain must be selected from the 4 areas of the ground over the final series. So from a mid, fwd, back and ruck over the 4 weeks of the finals. Not necessarily in that order. It is up to each individual in what week they selected the captain in each position but must be from a different position every week. As per the rules of the regular season your captain pick will double their score each week. To select the captain there must a be a capt or “C” next to their name.
  4. All teams must be listed on JR site before the first bounce of the first game in each week of the finals. Teams are locked in from this time with one exception (Rule 5).
  5. If a player is named in the team but is late withdrawal before the first bounce of their match (i.e. Buddy) the player can be replaced before the game with a player from the same team in the same position. Again this change must be posted on the JR website.
  6. Supercoach points to be applied to each player selected as per the heraldsun supercoach point scoring system.
  7. The highest combined total of points for the players selected in a team will be deemed the winning team for the week.
  8. The highest total number of cumulative points from players selected weeks 1-4 in the AFL final series will be deemed the Supercoach Finals overall winner.
  9. As the finals progress blank canvas every week. With players to be selected from participating teams as follows:

Week 1 of Finals: (From 8 Teams participating – Maximum of 2 players from each team):
    •16 Players consisting of:
    o4 Back
    o6 Midfield
    o2 Rucks
    o4 Forwards

Week 2 of Finals: (From 4 Teams participating – Maximum of 3 players from each team):
    •12 Players consisting of:
    o3 Back
    o5 Midfield
    o1 Ruck
    o3 Forwards

Week 3 of Finals: (From 4 Teams participating – Maximum of 3 players from each team):
    •12 Players consisting of:
    o3 Back
    o5 Midfield
    o1 Ruck
    o3 Forwards

Grand Final: (From 2 Teams participating – Maximum of 5 players from each team):
    •10 Players consisting of:
    o2 Back
    o5 Midfield
    o1 Ruck
    o2 Forward

Depends how much interest we get on whether I put together a table of everyone’s team and results.
This may be too much work so may rely on the honesty system where you add up and keep track of your own score. Afterall if you cheat you are only cheating yourself and anyone at anytime can check to see your team total as you have posted your team on the website so big brother is always watching.

Unless someone a bit more Techy than me can think of a way to enter our teams online?

So why not have a go. It’s free and who knows you may just get the bragging rights over the rest of us.
Good luck! Gone to my happy place. Be back in a few……

    • neil demons delight says:

Would Gawn be the first captain choice. He scores well and may go out 1st round then so could Hawkins as a forward.Tough call when to use the rucks.

      • gator59 says:

I'd say it would be the way to go or even Danger might only see one week!!!!

      • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Strategy of capt choice comes into play.
        I like it. 😁

  11. BrownlowBoy says:

It was on last year BFH but only about 10 guys participated, think it will be a lot more this year. 🙂

  15. Big fact hunt says:

Gotta ask how many sherbets were consumed coming up with this. It is gold

  16. Russty_ says:

Hey Trigga, hope you don't mind but thought I'd mention if any of the Jock Reynolds crew are interested in playing a Golf Fantasy game this year and next, I usually play fantasygolf.pgatour.com and I'm gonna start a Jock Reynolds league in the new season which starts around OCT 4th I think. (after the Ryder Cup) starting with the Safeway open.
So If anyone's interested, register your interest here, it's for peeps who probably have Foxtel and follow the American PGA tour every week and like to watch the tournaments, the usual format is 4 starting players and 2 bench players in case 1 or 2 miss the cut.
It's good fun and would be even more fun playing with all Aussies who follow it.
The season usually runs most of the year…about 46 weeks culminating in the Fed Ex Cup Playoffs, season is split up into 4 segments in which you can only pick certain players in those 11 to 12 weeks or so.

Anyways, if anyone's interested, drop me a hell yeah here…I'll probably need at least 10 guys to have a decent League, hopefully a lot more!
    Cheers….Russty.

  17. dontblushbaby says:

    Hell yeah,I'm in Russty

    • Russty_ says:

Cool DBB, I'll keep you posted mate, see if you can join the league now if you like, it's private but I think I set it up without a password to enter, it's called Jock Reynolds League if you search for that you should find it. use your Jock Reynolds name so I recognise who you are…cheers.

  18. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Well JR crew after a bit of work on the weekend I have taken random's suggestion and have created a spreadhsheet where everyone can enter their teams for the finals week 1.

    Link below:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pMMaF9uEJ

There are 4 sheets as I wasn't sure how many teams we are going to get. Teams – Teams 3.
There are 3 spots to fill in the teams sheet and then 10 team spots in Teams1, Teams2 and Teams3.
If we need more I will just create more but will see how we go.

I have already added the teams posted above which was a good test for all the "smarts" of the spreadsheet.

    How it works:

In row 1 add your team name (orange text). This currently says TEAM.
The next team to be entered will go after Great Fact Hunt and then when the team sheet is full – move onto Team1 spreadsheet etc.

    To add team:

Simply start tying in your players name starting at row 2 as per rule 9 above.
i.e if you want Elliott Yeo in your team start tying elli.. and Ellliot Yeo should appear in the drop list select him from the list.
repeat the process for the 4 defenders, 6 mids, 2 rucks and 4 forwards.

    The built in smarts:
    1. Once a player is selected the team next to the player will change to the team they play for in Yeo's case – West Coast
    2. The teams are added up below to ensure that only 2 players are selected from each team
    3. You can only select a player from the drop down list in each position as per rule 2 above. An error will occur if you try and select a player who is not in that position.
    4. If more than two players are selected from a team an error will appear in red stating "TOO MANY PLAYERS"

    Captain selection:
The captain is selected by putting a "C" next to the player you want to be captain for the week.
This will then add the SC points you score for that player to your total.

    Important:
At the moment the C is sitting in row 2 next to Alex Rance for each TEAM not in the comments.
Ensure you move the C next to the player you want to be captain as whoever the C sits next to will get the captains score.

Hopefully this all makes sense but should free up some of my time so I don't have to add all the teams from the comments,.

Have a go and see how you go. If you have any problems let me know.

I think this is a kick A$$ spreadsheet and should be a great finals competition.

The spreadsheet will be locked at the start of the game on Thursday, you have until then to put in your team. I will add the SC points for each team as per rule 6 above.

Have fun gone to my happy place back in a few ….. 🙂

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

yeah mate on the left next to the team name
if you wanted grundy as capt you are all good.

    • BennyO says:

  21. Human Bob says:

WooHoo. Finally the AFL is listening to soccer and Rugby fans and introducing zones to the Aussie game. It's now only a matter of time until we get the much desired offside rule and lose those the farcical rules that require a player to bounce the ball when running with it and punch it of his hand instead of throwing it.
Well done Mr McGlachlan we all appluad your foresite in taking away the ridiculous aspects of our game that make it unlike soccer and rugby.
May I suggest that goals should be awarded no matter which team causes the ball to cross the goal line and regardless of whether it crosses the line by hand or foot?

    • DavidC says:

Zones in Soccer?? There are none. Maybe you are thinking of Netball.

  22. dontblushbaby says:

  24. neil Demons Delight says:

Surely there's a way to get it back Trigg. It should be saved somewhere. A tech head will know

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

      thank goodness for version control.
      restored 🙂

      • Russty_ says:

Nice one mate, you reckon it was Sabotage or just an error?

        • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

If it was an error wouldnt have deleted all sheets just mucked up the one they were in.

          So reckon it was deliberate.

          Boy i was p1ssed!

As i said thank gawd for version control as it would have been a shame to loose all the teams and put a real dampner on what should be a gr8 finals comp.

          Happy dayz again …

          • Russty_ says:

All's well that ends well, I noticed they left my name in there..probably hoping I'd get the blame for it, I'm guessing one of the flog twins was behind it.
Good to see 16 teams already slotted in there Trig, should be good fun 🙂

  25. Great fact hunt says:

Thanks trigga that is awesome. Give me something to follow in finals as I’m a Carlton supporter. Cheers

            • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Looks easy but it aint is it?

              Thats the genius of it.

Looks like 80% plus of teams are locking in a goliath 1st up to capt the team.

              No one going danger.
Will he be there next week?
              Strategy love it.

              • Russty_ says:

Yeah basically, if you want to change one player, you have to change 4…or just start again lol

Reckon I'll just leave it as is.

  30. dontblushbaby says:

The Tigers are going well when Brandon Ellis gets dropped ,would get a game with most teams , might be trade bait now that Lynch has nominated his new home at Punt Rd

    • Russty_ says:

Must be up and down in form too often I reckon DBB, hence his dropping, he'd be spewing though, hey you should be able to enter that Golf League now, and any of your mates who also want to join.

    • hedski says:

You have 3 cats and only 1 swan Fox.

  32. neil demons delight says:

Might save Gawn for the last game and grab an advantage with Oliver and Brayshaw

  33. hedski says:

Gday Trigga, I also can't enter info on the spreadsheet from my phone so I'll post my team here and hopefully you can help me out, cheers mate.

    GO CATTAS!! 👍🍺

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Yep cant wait for the finals mate
Everyone worthy contenders should be some fierce contests.

Pity cats had to play Dees first up but that game esp should be EPIC!!

      Your team is in mate.

Only 1 of 3 teams going with a mid capt off the bat and only one with danger as capt.
Could be a stroke of genius.

      Good luck.

Im on the NDD finals train.
Be awesome if the drought is broken once again. 😀

      • hedski says:

Thanks for that Trig, if my cats go down tomorrow night I'll be hoping the Dees can go all the way too (until then BOO Dees).
Figured I may only have one chance to captain Danger so may as well go for it, quite a few going Grundy but he'll be there for at least one more week.

        • neil demons delight says:

Gedday Hedski ii am the same if the cats win then I hope they win the G F .At least they are super entertaining and I did tip them way back preseason. Be wary of the Harmes tag, though I was told Selwood is coping him to halftime then Danger, may the best team win cheers NDD

  34. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Ok crew the finals are finally upon us.
Seems like yonks since we last saw a game of footy!
not sure about everyone else but I say bring it on – looking forward to some titanic battles.

Just a reminder that the spread sheet will be locked from the first bounce tonight so if you want to put a team for the first week of the finals you have until 7.30 tonight.

After that I will put the spread sheet in read only mode. Where you can view but cant amend.
I will update each team after the completion of each game with the SC scores for each relevant player for the match.
Will generally do this the next morning so if you want to check back in on how you are going the scores will be slowly updated over the course of the weekend,

Just another reminder about the captain. You can only select a captain each week from a different position on the ground.

To do this you need to move the C (which is on the left hand side of the team name) next to the player you want to be captain and score double points for the week.

If you look at my team the C is next to Sydney – Player Jake LLoyd – so Jake will get the captains hat this week for my team.

I realise this is a bit confusing but was a last minute thought before I released the spreadsheet.

Next week for simplicity I will set up the spreadsheet so the C is right next to the players name.

Think just about everyone has got this concept but just incase please check to ensure you have the captain (C) against the correct player.

Speaking of which it looks like over 80% of teams have jumped of big Maxy or Grundy as the captain choice this week.
    No forwards.
Only 3 mids with hedski backing in his catters and danger to give him an edge over everyone else.

we have over 20 teams which is great and should give us some fierce competition.
Most teams are fairly similar except for the Capt Obvious team which is quite unique and appears to have all the captains included in the team. Different thinking there but could this be a shark move as the captain tends to lift and lead his team into the finals. Is this one touch wonder magic?

Haven't seen the defending champ in Kev put in a team yet unless he is under an alias but he did this last year and come in last minute and outscored all of us.

    Will history repeat??

    Only time will tell.

Good luck to all and hope we have a cracking final series.

    PLAY BALL …..

    • Russty_ says:

Great stuff Trigga…hey if there's a late out can we still change a player during the round?

      • hedski says:

Gday Russty, I think Trig said in the rules a late out can be replaced as long as its posted here before the kickoff in that game?

        • Russty_ says:

Hey Hed, oh yeah ok thanks mate, heard John Ralph say Howe would be tagging Dusty but he wouldn't know for sure really..hope it's Cotch and not Dusty.

      • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

        Yep rule 5. 😏

  35. demons 2018 premiers says:

    Bring it on go DEES

  36. hedski says:

Daniel Howe a late inclusion for the Hawks, does he go to Dusty or Cotchin????

  37. Lekdog says:

    Team is in Trigg!

  38. Russty_ says:

Hey Trig do you know who donut factory is?…he hasn't completed his team yet.

  39. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

    Nah no idea

Maybe fitting name if doesnt fill out team. 😂

  40. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

My team Trigga is Davis lloyd Hurn Yeo. Mids Adams oliver Danger Mitchell Cotchin Coniglio Rucks Grundy Gawn Fwds Lambert Menegola Gunston Heeney Capt Gawn. Just seen this Trigga getting home from work. 🙂

  41. Ahmad rubas says:

    sicily lloyd yeo rance
dusty titch clarry cogs kelly treloar
    gawn grundy
    hawkins heeney jjk menegola
captaincy on yeo does this team fit the rules and am i too late?

  42. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

    both made it lads

will add your teams at half time

    • Russty_ says:

You da man Trig…thanks for putting this all together, and allowing some slight rule bending…after all, it aint for sheep stations lol

    • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

      Cheers Trigga 🍻

    • Defying_Madness says:

Hey Trigga mate I moved my captain to Lloyd a couple hours ago when the teams dropped and it seems to have moved back to Grundy. Would appreciate if you could change it for me. Cheers

  43. gator59 says:

Good stuff Trigga letting them in … Good luck to all

  44. Finnius says:

Hey trigga – just realised my C is on Grundy when I meant to have it on Gawn. Do you think you could change it for me? I'm excited for this. Wish I had checked the weather in Melbourne before selecting my team though.. the Riewoldt pick is turning out to be a bit of a dud.

    Good luck all.

    • Russty_ says:

Well done winning three grand finals this year Finn, great stuff mate.

      • Finnius says:

Thanks Russty – would have been a few more if Kelly didn't get knocked out and left me with Giro for the prelim. Went down in my cashy for that one.

        How did you end up?

        • Russty_ says:

Not so great this year, was in with a chance in 5 in the second last week and had 4 injuries, so, then was still in with one and lost by about 250 points..lol. Was out of trades in the 2nd last week so couldn't do much except play bench players.

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

      Done ✔

  45. Russty_ says:

Glad I picked Dusty 71, Titch 50, Sicily 60 so far but bummed out about Riewoldt 25..oh well, can't win em all.
Anyone who picked Caddy or Lambert are at least doing half decently.

  46. Russty_ says:

Disappointing from the Hawks, if they make it through next week, can't see em going all the way, especially if they have to come up against the Tigers again.

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

how good is Higgins? – 1st final 1st year
he is gonna be some kind of player
next couple of years will be a gun mid as well

      yellow and whack.

      • Russty_ says:

Yeah they found a good kid there…and with Lynch in their Fwd line next season, will be hard to beat again I reckon.

      • neil demons delight says:

I tipped him preseason as the best recruit which wasn't hard .Hawks will find it tough against the dees or cats but tiges are something

        • dontblushbaby says:

I still cant believe how Higgins got 17 in the draft last year , anyway who cares now ,the kid is a jet – 'BK to BK in YLW n BLK'

    • hedski says:

Very disappointing Russty, Cats should smash em next week!!

      • Russty_ says:

Yeah hedski, I think whatever gameplan Clarko had this week went out the window when the weather hit, Richmond were just tougher, scrappier and more desperate, and kept their stuff together when it really counted, in days gone by when the Hawks had more talent they would've gotten there but they just don't have the guys anymore.
Cats should wipe em off the radar next week I think.

      • neil demons delight says:

Can't do that from the stands though

        • hedski says:

Ha ha, I knew you'd bite Neil.

          • dees will do cats says:

double whammy mate I knew you would know I knew that I would bite. I think either will smash the hawks and give the Tiges a run go The MIGHTY DEES

      • Defying_Madness says:

I think Hawthorn may have got a bit ahead of themselves. Should be good to go next week and let's not forget we beat the cats twice this year already.

    • Derek says:

As a hawks fan I’m just not used to this

Breust and Silk misses were not good early but it was the Hawks young blokes who found out the hard way what finals footy is all about

      The rain didn’t help

      • Derek says:

        Shoemakers out didn’t help……… 😉

      • dees will do cats says:

You played a ripper team Derek Not over yet but tiges had too many contributers

  47. neil demons delight says:

How the heck can they fit Lynch in and where much better at the Saints where he might get a game

    • Russty_ says:

They'll slot him in alongside Riewoldt to blood him and then Jack will retire in a year or two I think Neil…Lynch could become a great forward playing in a good team for a change, and not having to carry it like he was at the Suns.
Saints are Fckd mate…no hope for them anytime soon lol

  48. James says:

Completely forgot about that game but glad I had some kind of team in! Thought I had the C on Buddy but seems I unintentionally went the safer option.

  49. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Morning Trigga, l must be going crazy l cant find were to look to find the team selection. 🤔

    • hedski says:

Gday Shake, there is a link in one of Triggas comments above, 3 days ago, your team is on "teams 2" sheet. 👍

    • dees will do cats says:

good to see you're in mate and Hedski bright and early ready for tonight Wish I could say good luck go dees

  50. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Well lads that's the first final in books.
    My take:
Press – Richmond have dropped their tackling intensity lately and are venerable.

Tigers response – We know a bit about this caper. We will look after our own backyard, you try and beat us at the G. Bring it on.
Result: Tigers get to put their feet up for a week, hawks need to regroup and get a chance to redeem next week.

    Summary:
The anointed one was at his best esp in the first half, they have added a beauty in Higgins to the fwd mix who lives and breathes the Tigers Manra"
Tackle, harass, tackle again, help out ya mate, see ball, get ball, kick goals – oh and if you like go up in the ruck – rioli the ruckman.
Wasn't a game for the big forwads esp the hawks, with gunston, rough and bruest having a quiet night. Joey was also quiet at the other end. The weather didn't help their cause.
Titch again brought his own ball but needed help against the onslaught of the tiges.

    Supercoach:

The perfect combination for this game was:
    Tigers – Dusty and Higgins
    Hawks – Titch and Shiels.

    No one had this combination.

A fair few teams had the two guns in Titch and Dusty so some fairly decent scores to start off the round.
No captain was used in last nights game,.

I have updated all the scores which can be found on the link below:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pMMaF9uEJ

After the first game – Arazyzz is leading the pack (last team entered) but there are a lot of teams breathing down his/her neck.

    onto game 2:

With this one there is no tomorrow – which is a must watch game.
Gawny and his mates against arguably one of the best midfields ever assembled.

NDD V Hedski just to add to the intrigue.

    • Russty_ says:

Well done Trig…don't be so modest mate, you and Arayzyzyzy are leading at the moment 🙂

  51. dees will do cats says:

Thought you might have been well up there Trigg Reiwoldt let a lot down.Hawkins could do the same or could be a matchwinner. Frost to get 1st go I imagine. Bring it on NDD

    • Derek says:

Melb is my second team. My grandfather played for them back in the 1930’s. Plus they are playing Geelong. Go the FUCHSIAS.

      • neil Demons Delight says:

Fuchsias going back a bit Derek except for a big hawk ruckman could have been The Melbourne Hawks. Got my vote in fact most dee members voted that way

        • Derek says:

I was at the SCG in 1996 when the hawks got beat in the first semifinal by swans (1st vs8th) and the hawks did a slow lap of honour, I remember thinking this Will be the last time we see the Hawthorn Hawks.

    • Russty_ says:

Good luck for tonight mate..Do or die, bring it onnnn!

  52. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

had a bit more a of a play with the spreadsheet and have added a graph to show everyone's score
    refer to graph tab

if you click on the little cross (explore) in the bottom right hand corner you can cut the info anyway you like

ie bottom 5 team by SC score etc

might be handy during the finals for everyone to see visually how they are going compared to everyone else.

  53. Russty_ says:

    What a clanger festival of a 1st quarter for Danger…6 Clangers! 6!

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

      Fair first half by Viney.
Who needs to play footy in the lead up?
      Tackling beast.
      9 and counting …..

      • Russty_ says:

Yeah right he's a gun..must be some serious adrenaline too, I'm nervous for the Dees, as much as the Cats are butchering the hell out of it, Dees aren't scoring enough.

        • Russty_ says:

Danger on 12 clangers and 6 frees against now, what a night for him to have a stinker. Well done Dees!

  54. neil Demons Delight says:

Great effort by the lads Commiserations to Hedski and the Cat fans a great effort by cats who are always thereabouts.Dahlhousewill help next year. Abbott is a future player. NDD

    • Russty_ says:

Great stuff Neil and congratulations ..dare to dream this year mate, Cats, valiant effort but didn't really get it all together tonight, your lads looked scary good, just need to sort the accuracy out a bit…Weideman was awesome for your blokes, hope he gets a game next season, cheers mate.

      • neil Demons Delight says:

Thx Russty remember your Saints done us a few weeks back How good will your mob be NDD

    • BrownlowBoy says:

      Well done NDD!

That is exactly why I didn't want to face the Dees!!!!

      You've gotta believe now mate.

      • neil Demons Delight says:

You said that and I said the winner could go all the way Cats didn't play too bad at all just a few stars were down. The cats could have beaten plenty in the eight cheers mate NDD

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

NDD non stop demon train gathering momentum.

      Word of warning

Get ouuta the way when the express is coming through.

      • neil Demons Delight says:

Viney was a great inclusion Trigg but one who gets under the radar is Vanda He's one of those big bodied mids that are important in finals a bit like LINGY was Go dees NDD

    • hedski says:

Way to good Neil, we were never in it.
Danger as captain is gonna hurt my team.

      • neil demons delight says:

I had a look pre game at C D 's bottom 15 players 10 were cats One of the dees was weeds so as good as the cats best are they need depth Players like O'Connor make it tough. The dees, aside from Max AND OLIVER didn't appear in the top players all were cats. I can count at least 8 casey players who could serve the dees well Both the tiges and dogs were the same.Though scott likes Lincoln Mc Carthy I can't see him playing 2019 Nex t year Hedski your cats will be right up there ,love watching them cheers mate NDD

    • Alex says:

Good effort from the Dee's you must be stoked mate. Just a heads up on Abbott mate he'll be 28 next year he's not really a 'future player'

      • neil demons delight says:

I think he has done enough though Alex and with RAV fit could be ok. That's the go nowadays Nank and Grigg Max and weeds.

        • Russty_ says:

Yeah agree Neil, Ruckmen take longer than others, even Gawny was rubbish before 2015..if a club can get 4 or 5 good years out of a ruckman that's a win I think.

  55. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Shiel and Setterfield for pick 1
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dylan_Shiel?wprov=s

    • neil demons delight says:

Would you do Hoges for Neale and freo's top pick considering he will go back.Nearly happened 2 years back when Barlow was he tossed in as the spoons

      • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Think Neale wants to go lions.

Cerra for Hogan may work but.
Dont think u need hogan u seem to play better without him. Weita has blossomed in his absence.

Found it curious the speil down the bottom on shiel on wikipedia on the link attached.

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

I see this link to the blues has now been removed.

Was it letting the cat out of the bag or a hacker on wikipedia?

  56. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Game 2 is in the books and what a display by the demons,
They came to play and if it wasn't for the inaccuracy in front of goal the margin would have been far greater.

If they want to go further the demons need to put more through the middle, same thing happened against Sydney and we all know how that turned out. But they are exciting watch, have a good mix of young and old, got big Maxy and brought in tackling beast called Viney.

For the sake of the AFL finals kick it through the big sticks as we hate to have you eliminated playing that brand of footy just because you cant kick straight!!

    Supercoach:
    The perfect combination was:
    Demons – Harmes/Neal Bulleen
    Cats – Selwood/Taylor

    No one had this combination.
Capt Obvious did have the cats combo with Selwood as Capt and Viney and Gawn so was the highest scoring combination for this game.

Cats – sheesh the clanger cats.
Most teams had danger. menegola, duncan who because of the clangers scored very poorly.

A couple of teams even had Danger as Capt.

A good strategy was to go against the norm for the cats for this game.

    All scores have been updated.

NDD just like his demons is leading the way.

As some teams had big Gawny as capt this has skewed the graph abit so have created 2 one with and one without the capt pick.

Battle of the bridge coming up.

    • Russty_ says:

Nice work mate, thanks for updating the scores so quick, much appreciated, can't wait for today's games, hopefully they'll be a bit closer than the first 2 but it was good to see the Dees play so well.
Great that there's 32 teams participating in your finals series this year, maybe we could all chuck in $10 or so next year, so there's some prizes for the top 5?…just a thought..either or, I'm not really much of a gambler lol

      • NEIL demons delight says:

Is Tich worth picking if Harmes goes to him. He has stitched up many this season. or maybe he goes to gunston and Viney gets Tich.. Mitchell has to be tagged ,surely.

        • Russty_ says:

Hey Neil, yeah not sure mate, I'm gonna see how this week pans out first and then decide whether to go against the grain or not next week.

  57. Alex says:

The only rule changes the AFL should be considering are to have the 'interpretation' during the season that they have in the finals. Caddy would have got 2-weeks for his hand stomp if it happened in round 3

  58. TeddyWhitt says:

Both finals so far have been rubbish games as far as a demonstration of the great things about AFL are concerned. I've watched juniour games with better skills. well done to the tigers and Dees but the rugby last night was a much better spectacle and demonstration of skill, if the AFL teams continue throwing up that sort of rubbish for the finals the game will die

    • NEIL demons delight says:

As a long term member of the EELS and the DEMONS I totally agree Mr FOOTBALL. the NRL has dished up rubbish games also though and I have seen plenty of great games. As Gabblett said the spectacle has disappeared NDD

  59. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

    Kelly in trouble early …

    • Russty_ says:

Wonder if Kelly will be back?…8 teams didn't select him, they won't mind, glad I selected useless Bloody Buddy Franklin..lol seems to always be second to the ball. How good is Williams doing in his return?

      • Defying_Madness says:

I never considered Franklin because last time they played I believe he was held goalless or on 1 goal before davis got injured. Unlucky mate he is a rollercoaster isn't he. Could still have a huge second half.

        • Russty_ says:

Yeah he's definitely a boom or bust player, looks like I'm a bust this week..oh well.

      • Ahmad rubas says:

Those 8 will be cruising ahead of the rest. Did anyone captain Kelly?

      • Randomcliche2 says:

I did the Kelly, Buddy double as well mate. #gameover

    • Defying_Madness says:

Kelly has been missing too many games as of late. Might scare me off him next year

    • Ahmad rubas says:

Kelly out for the game apparently no source just a tweet I saw

  60. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Im probably the oly one with Davis in my side 😉

  61. gator59 says:

What a crap final the swans a gws are dishing up.. I think i'd rather watch a saints vs blues game atm… who ever wins won't trouble who they play next week

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Yeah nothing like the finals game last night.

    • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

It is shake ur head stuff Gator!! Atrocious 💩💩💩

    • Russty_ says:

Imagine if you'd paid 100's of dollars to witness that garbage!…can only hope the next game is worth watching, finals are a bust so far.

      • gator59 says:

I think I know what Sheedy was talking about the martians all those years ago… If the martians get hold of this game out of a time capsule all they would say is WTF is this shit!!!

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Only good thing about that game was won a few bucks on draftstars. 🤫

      • gator59 says:

I couldn't get in the frame on that game on draftstars… Whats your team name on draftstars Trigga

  62. Tyruddanaut says:

    Literally everyone had Josh Kelly

    • Tyruddanaut says:

      And jake Lloyd

    • Russty_ says:

Every team on the 1st page, 7 teams didn't have Kelly..Lucky!

    • AuroraBorealis?! says:

      I chose coniglio instead

    • Finnius says:

I went Coniglio and Ward. Only because I thought Kelly would get the Hewett tag. Lucks a fortune sometimes. Not looking so great for this game though – everyone has C on Grundy which should help. Wish I'd picked Mcgovern…

  63. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Why did they start the Pies game so late! Need to start work at 4am. Wish we were the early game.

    • Alex says:

The game started before 7:00pm mate that's earlier than they start in Melbourne. Stop whingeing toothless

      • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Im working away now the game melb time started 8.10pm. Just wanted more sleep 😴 had to get up at 3am. Maybe im am toothless!

  64. TeddyWhitt says:

Well done Wedgies and Pies 1 good finals game out of four but it was good enough to make an old dead bloke forget how bad the other 3 were

  65. NEIL demons delight says:

Pies and Giants gonna be a great game Pies just that bit better Kelly needs to get up to be any chance

  66. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Not sure about that Neil! I think GWS will hold themselves in good stead. Still hope Kelly does miss will be close.

    • NEIL demons delight says:

Bit of a bummer working so early today Shake The pies won the right to a second chance and will go well Wouldn't a dees -woods G F be something -not impossible have a great day

      • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Just about impossible l think Neil. Im on the Dees bandwagon as nearly as much as ours!

        • NEIL demons delight says:

All my family are pies ppl including lovely wife so it's difficult for me to can them without consequenses but 1958 and hooker Harrison and Murray Weideman play mind games with me. Sorry shake but I LIKE to see the pies lose Without them though the league would be poorer. The silly antics of Eddie and Bucks don't help. They are still a great team NDD

  67. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

    Final scores in.
Well done WT Foxtrot winner after rd 1 with a score
    of 1718.
This round was a case of golly Josh and Buddy hell. If u avoided those 2 you moved ahead of the pack.
Poor capt obvious not only had both but also had Kelly as capt. That is terrible bad luck capt.

3 teams had the best capt pick selecting yeo with a 139.

    Working on week 2 spreadsheet
