THE CHEAT SHEET Round 16

Is this the beginning of the end?
*uncontrollable sobbing*
Please refer to last week’s cheat sheet because those options are still very relevant in the wake of this disaster. I’ve put some more options in this week too.
Jake Lloyd is getting hard to ignore. Joel Selwood and Andrew Gaff are still reliable as ever. Sam Jacobs appears to have found some form, and Luke Breust has flown under the radar.
Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present to you, the cheat sheet:

  1. JEL says:

Damm, Heeney is out. time to look for options.

Have Moore & T Smith on the bench, one of them might have to go

    • SC_Kev7 says:

If you've got a mid swing like Ahern then Moore to Sier is an option. Moore was given games as a project player, don't see him playing again this year

      • JEL says:

I was skeptical with Moore as well, but the SC gods work in mysterious ways….. he's been named this week!!

Sier was definitely an option, good that I can wait another week to see how he goes.

  2. Josh says:

Any suggestions on what to do this week would be really appreciated

7 trades left $44k in the bank

Def- Laird, Sicily, Yeo, Webster, Hurley, Savage (Richards, Taylor)
Mid- Fyfe, Mitchell, Cripps, Kelly, Curnow, Parker, Coniglio, Merrett (Ahern, Giro, J Smith)
    Ruck- Gawn, Nic Nat (Olango)
Fwd- Heeney, McDonald, McLean, Franklin, Walters, Battle (T Smith, Keeffe)

  3. Damien says:

    Hi Damo.
What are your thoughts on Pendles to replace Fyfe, partly also because I’d planned to to trade in my final defender. Pendles rather than Selwood or Kennedy will give me more money to get a better defender next week, unless of course I get another injury!!!!

  4. SC_Sixty6 says:

Fyfe will sit on the bench and be a pod when he returns.

  5. Dann says:

    Taylor Adams for Fyfe?

    • Coz311 says:

I was flirting with this idea. Really trying to go ultra risk/POD to jump some ranks with this Fyfe trade. I've gone Murphy but Adams was up there for me.

  6. TBone_9 says:

Laird, Simmo, Yeo, Sicily, Howe, Doedee (Heron, Redman)
Danger, Titch, Fyfe, Cripps, Oliver, Parker, Cogs, Dusty (Ahern, Giro, O’Connor)
    Gawn, Martin (Olango)
Heeney, McLean, Gray, Walter, Smith, Fritsch (Battle, T. Smith)

    216k and 9 trades left.
I’m thinking Doedee to Lloyd and Fyfe to Crouch/Beams? This would allow me to go Fritsch up to Westhoff/Menegola and then slightly upgrade Dusty by about 50k.

Or I can go Fritsch up to Westhoff and Fyfe to Gaff. Then next week go Doedee up to Hurn/Ryan and Dusty to Selwood/Neale/Curnow.

Any opinions appreciated! Cheers guys 🙂

    • SC_Kev7 says:

Prefer the second option of Westhoff and Gaff, TBone. Lloyd's price is getting a bit too far far north for me right now. Replacing Fyfe I'd be chasing reliability

  7. Maverick_ says:

Am making 2 trades this week but cannot split the two players for each option..

Trade 1: Fyfe to crouch or beams ??

Trade 2: naughton to Lloyd or Simpson ??

    Any advice is appreciated

    • Russty_ says:

I'd go Crouch and Lloyd if I had to choose Mav, just cause they're in better teams, and Lloyd is younger, I'm considering Pendles too in that price bracket.

      • Maverick_ says:

Thanks russty! I am leaning toward beams and Lloyd I have a huge soft spot for dayne and would love him in my side But my head is saying crouch is going to come home strong if Sloane hangs round n takes some of the attention.

    • BlueBaggerJosh says:

Crouch by a mile, do not see the appeal of Beams, so inconsistent and scored a 37 just recently fully fit for crying out loud. Lloyd and Simpson are both very good options, id go Lloyd just because simmo is more prone to 70's scores.

      • Maverick_ says:

By a mile is a stretch. Beams has a huge ceiling and is starting to find his rhythm again. Except for that one stinker

      • DAnn says:

Decent 5 round average when you think there’s a 37 in there. Brisbane have a rough run home from memory but maybe that doesn’t matter for Beams.

  8. Corey says:

    Fyfe Replacement?
    Current Midfield
Titch, J.Kelly, Danger, Cripps, Coniglio, Dusty, Rockliff

    • BlueBaggerJosh says:

i'm probably going Neale as he is a POD, fairly consistent, has the biggest ceiling and should thrive with Fyfe out.
J.Kelly, Gaff, JPK and Crouch are very close to edging out Neale so plenty of time for my mind to change.

  9. Kyle says:

Think j kelly wilm be good for the rest of the season? These injuries are getting out of hand..

    • BlueBaggerJosh says:

Injuries can come from anywhere man, wouldn't have suspected fyfe, Macrae or treloar doing their hammies. Kelly seems to be over his groin issue so back him in

  10. BrownlowBoy says:

Whispers Matt Crouch has a broken hand

  11. Gibbs says:

Have 8 trades left, going to use one on Fyfe, should I use another to upgrade Martin to a Gaff, Selwood or ed Curnow?

    • Russty_ says:

Probably couldn't hurt Gibbs, maybe get the highest averaging top 8 mid you don't have, I'm still stuck with Martin too, still hoping he can turn it around lol

  12. Russty_ says:

How many players do you have in your side averaging 100 or more per week…and how many are in the 90's ?
    I have 16 with 5 averaging in the 90's.
Reckon I'd need more average tons to be doing really well, but trades are getting low.
Also how many trades are you down to and do you think you'll last until the end of the finals?
    I'm down to 5 now.

    • Rocksta_ says:

Snap Russty….. 16, 5 and 5 trades( after trading Fyfe to Kelly this week). Full Premo. Can’t afford anymore injuries mate.

      • Russty_ says:

Jeez Rocksta!, haven't injuries been a bugger this year!?…gotta hold and hope now…that it all doesn't just go to hell,
I hit full premo finally this week too mate…clench the buttcheeks and pray from here on in lol

    • JEL says:

14 + 7 with 5 trades left. Things looking tight for the run home.

      • Russty_ says:

You're doing alright JEL, unless you have pressing issues to take care of…I'm gonna try to hold off for a few.

        • JEL says:

Need to see what rookies play this week, hoping either T Smith or Moore get a guernsey as that would solve my Heeney issue

          • ZzZCalintZzZ says:

On field got: 11 over 105, 5 over 100, 6 over 93 with Mundy, Ahern and Mihocek on bench.
Will trade Fyfe lol leaves me with 3 trades and Mundy still on back up swing duties.

    • Rivo says:

17, 3, 6 trades after the Fyfe trade this week. One last D6 upgrade to do.

    • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Have 15 and 5 dont have heeney which is a bonus this week. Fyfe will become?? 9 trades. 8 after fyfe trade.

  13. Corey says:

15, 4 with 8 Trades Left only Fritsch yet to upgrade although I do have Rocky as M8

    • Russty_ says:

That's a good position Corey…and 8 trades left is great..is that before or after this week?

      • Corey says:

After this week, Trading Fyfe to Gaff I think at this stage I have Ahern as cover for Heeney

        • Russty_ says:

You're in a better position than most…could even afford to to a one down one up trade to generate some extra cash.

          • Corey says:

Potentially but I’m Concerned I’ll Run out of trades this season has been really tough

            • Russty_ says:

Remember though, depending on how you are positioned, and how you go in the finals, you might only need 2, 4 max in the finals…but hey if you think you'll need all 8 mate, hold by all means, this could be the year where doing ok depends solely on having trades left, doesn''t take much carnage to fall away with no trades remaining.
Injuries can be a crippling factor this year and have been for many.

          • Corey says:

This is my current team 9 Trades Left 25K in the Bank
Laird, Yeo, Sicily, Simpson, Hurley, Savage (Mirra, Ridley)

Mitchell, J.Kelly, Dangerfield, Fyfe Cripps, Coniglio, Martin, Rockliff, (Dawson, Phillips, Giro)

            Gawn, Nankervis (Olango)

R.Gray, McLean, Heeney, Walters, D.Smith, Fritsch (Ahern, Ryan)

            • Russty_ says:

Could consider Crouch, Pendles, even Shuey to make some money…for Fyfe, sometimes it's better to hang on by your fingernails and hope you survive rather than "trade aggressively", and burn out like a candle in the wind trying to impress people, this game is a long game mate, gotta go the distance, or you're just an also ran.

              • Corey says:

Hmm I really like Matt Crouch but is he fit?
I guess I could Loophole Shuey and Rockliff and bring Macrae when he returns in a couple of weeks to complete my midfield, still waiting for a forward to become a standout option right now I’m content with Fritsch

  14. Steve says:

Can not decide who to bring in for Fyfe,
    Gaff or JPK

  15. The Brat says:

Bring in Mclean or Westhoff ?
    Cheers

  16. John says:

OK, this might sound dumb. Who should I trade in for Fyfe: Kelly, Danger, Mitchell or Pendlebury?

Limited trades left so I need to choose well. 🙁

  17. Jamie says:

    Ok guys need your opinions
Current team with 19.7k and 6 trades
D- Lloyd Simpson Sicily Laird Webster Stewart (Austin Cumming)
M- Mitchell Fyfe Cripps Dangerfield Kennedy Gaff Coniglio Martin (Phillips Giro Brown)
    R- Gawn Martin
F- Robinson Heeney R.Gray D.Smith McLean Hogan (Ahern Giles Langdon)

Option 1: Fyfe to Crouch and Stewart to Yeo
Option 2: Fyfe to Kelly keep Stewart and trade Austin for someone who is playing as cover
Option 3: Fyfe to Crouch and Giles Langdon to Billings as a bench loophole
Option 4: Fyfe to Crouch Martin to Oliver

    Cheers in advance

  18. Lekdog says:

Cheat Sheet bloody good, package not.

  19. Prizza says:

Could i just say that if you look like missing the finals in any of the leagues that really mean a lot to you then trade aggressively and make sure you make it.
Also you may have the chance of the weekly prize, saving trades and winning the bottom half of the finals should not appeal to geniune supercoaches.

  20. BrownlowBoy says:

    Regarding Matt Crouch post.

It is confirmed Crouch has a fractured hand and is probable for tomorrow night.

  21. corza27 says:

I am torn as to whom I should bring in for Fyfe, I have Danger, Higgins, Zerrett, Conig, Titch, Clarry, Cripps and Rocky M9. I am considering Kennedy, but will he be tagged too heavily?

  22. murray says:

just heard crouch could be out with a broken hand
I wont go near him now

Am considering Gaff and Shuey for fyfe and guelfi
    sound advice needed please

  23. richie douglas says:

How many rounds left until finals ?

  24. FearTheBeard says:

Got Danger, Titch, Dusty, Oliver, JKelly, Cogs, Cripps and Fyfe

Tossing up between Bont, JPK, Gaff, Neale?

Thoughts? I honestly have no bloody idea and its done my head in all week 😐

  25. BrownlowBoy says:

Big Jon Patton has a suspected ACL injury which occurred at training.

Seems to be a lot of ACL injuries in the recently.

Docherty, Smith, Dunn, Black, Begely, Willis, Setterfield, Tiziani, Lever, Hayes, Hartlett, Naismith all currently out with ACL injuries.

With the likes of Nic Nat, Ceglar and Morris just recently returning.

We all know Menzel, Johnson and Woodward have all had multiple knee reconstructions, and this is Patton's third injury.

I wonder if there is anything that can be done to help prevent these shocking injuries?

  26. BigAl_15 says:

Should I go Higgins or Neale for Fyfe? I reckon Neale is gonna be tagged for the next couple of game and Higgins has got a nice run home plus he's a good POD. Or should I go Higgins, Beams or Ward? Honestly I hate having to make these decisions

    • Pod says:

Look at the past 2 yrs Neale had basically been the free no.1 mid for that period and was tagged but he still posted solid scores

  27. FearTheBeard says:

Hold Fyfe with either Giro/J Smith for a week and go for Macrae or go for JPK/Neale/Gaff/Bont?

  28. Rivo says:

Have sorted the Fyfe trade now. Assuming all are playing, which of Ahern, J.Higgins, Giro or J.Smith should I use to cover Heeney this week?

  29. The Ranger says:

With 6 trades left and only Ridley and Duman on the DEF bench what do we think of Duman – Mihocek?
Assuming neither get named of course.
Very sideways but Mihocek would seem to have pretty good job security now.

  30. PizzaSafety says:

M888888 where the bloody hell is Lachie Neale???

  31. TheGreatBozza says:

Crouch’s hand has thrown as a spanner in the works. Any sub 450k fowards or defenders we trust? Already have McLean Walter De Goey and Savage

Other option is to trade Fyfe to a sub 500k mid and get Buddy. Already have Pendles Dusty and Cogs

    • Russty_ says:

Crouch will play this week Bozza, only a minor injury, coach confirmed it.

      • Maverick_ says:

He may play russty but a hand must impact his hand balling, marking and tackling… too risky for mine I can’t afford a sub par score and a chance he may do further damage. Seriously looking at beams now I think. Unless I can Be convinced the injury is nothing

      • TheGreatBozza says:

Worried about his output. Oliver struggled earlier in the year with the broken hand.

An alternate option could be to bring in Brander for Smith or Ryan, and swing Sicily FWD this week. Making Ed Richards as my Heeney cover.

Then next week I’d have a kitty to upgrade to a premo FWD or DEF to finish my team with 6 trades left. Doing this would allow me to get any mid this week and not have to balance out between a mid and forward. Only downside is is delays me one week of a premo score

  32. r_calve says:

    selwood, duncan, jpk or beams

  33. Patcho says:

Fyfe/Ryan out and Heeney to bench.
Have 944k to spend. Plan is to get a M9/F7 cover player for the rest of the year if there is another Heeney type situation. Sitting top 400.
Was looking at Crouch combos but that's now out.
Gaff or Selwood and Lambert? Or
    Pendels and Walters?
Will mean when Heeney comes back Walters or Devon Smith become a bench cover

  34. RowdyBadger says:

    Hmmm, JPK, Oliver or Gaff?

  35. J.Brayshaw is my dad says:

Dusty is apparently set to play more time forward and along with Fyfe being injured, who should i bring in for Dusty and Fyfe?

  36. r_calve says:

    who will hewett tag

  37. Stupid Coach says:

Great job again Damo. Don't have Fyfe but not having him is probably one of many reasons I am doing so poorly this season. 8 trades left and 40k in the bank. Current team:
B: Simpson, Laird, Yeo, Savage, Ryan, Hurley, Keefe, Redman
M: Danger, Titch, J Kelly, Cripps Parker, Cogs, Martin, petracca, Phillips, Giro, Barry
    R: Gawn, Nank, Olongo
F: Heeney, Sicily, D Smith, Buddy, Gray, Guelfi, T Smith, J Battle

I have moved Heeney to the bench. I would like to bring in McLean for Guelfi but it would also require me to make another trade (downgrade to a rookie).

Appreciate any advice on whether I should make these trades or hold onto my trades.

    • Cyriledagain says:

      Option 1
Swap Heeney and Petracca and play Giro. Save trades
Your backline looks fine except no cover and missing Lloyd
As you mentioned , need to get Mclean or westhoff into forwards by trading Guelfi.

Maybe trade phillips to rookie, guelfi (be 77) to mclean (be 76)

  38. Rivo says:

J.Higgins or Ahern on field at F6? T.Smith at F8.

  39. Saundo says:

    Higgins, Gaff or Beams?
