THE STANDING ROOM Round 14

Filed in Supercoach by on 24/06/2018 • views: 5010

We’re nearly there. Just one more game to go – ONE MORE – before we’re done and dusted with the byes for 2018.

How are you faring? Did any mad bastards bring in Shaun Higgins or Benjamin Brown? They were on absolute FIRE last night in a cracking game of footy between the Dogs and the Roos.

Josh Kelly, The Bont, Clayton Oliver, BIG MAXY GAWN have all combined for good to very good scores, meaning some people out there will have a massive total at the end of lockout this week… unless you captained Tom Mitchell. (Tom, really?? How could you do this to us)

How are you travelling? Who do you need to stand up in Carlton vs Collingwood at the G? Who did you captain? What are your moves next week?

Pull up a chair, pour yourself a drink and have a good old chinwag, community.

  1. Patch says:

I'm at a 1605 with Cripps and Simpson to play. Titch C hurt, Yeo VC didn't come to fruition. Dang it.

    • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

1705 with Cripps & Simpson to come Got in Goldy made him C after Mitchell was just ok. I hope both Cripps & Simpson ton up but lose to my pies by 10 goals!!

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

100 less than u patch with cc to come.
      Cripps and crisp.
Byes have been an absolute mare! Non bye premos missing have really stung.
U werent on your pat malone yesterday with the C on Titch. Went the VC on clarry. 🙄
Good news is I am full premo so now up to the lads to stand and deliver !

  2. JEL says:

1399 with Simpson to play and Gawn's VC score to be added

Snacking on a couple of donuts this week

  3. Isaac says:

Accidentally traded in Cameron last week for Spargo. Looks like he's set for at least four weeks on the sidelines so will probably have to trade him? Thoughts on any good foward options from 430-470k

  4. Rowen says:

1570 with Howe, Simpson and Cripps to come. Should be getting 1850+ . Been a donut heavy bye period…. looking forward to having full team back next week! Weaknesses are Howe D6, Billings in F6, Walters in M8.

  5. Atrain says:

1793 with Simpson to come in today's game, so not too bad for just scraping 18 together with a few rookies scores well under par. VC on Gawn helps a lot and Holman to Kelly trade working nicely for me! Can't wait to see what a full premo side can do now.

  6. SC_Sixty6 says:

    Put the C on Kelly.

1509 with Cripps, Simpson and Grundy to go. Only fielded 17 with spargo a surprise out. Hopefully looking between 1850-1900

  7. TheGreatBozza says:

Currently on 1272 with Grundy (C), Pendles, Howe, De Goey, Cripps and Simpson. Projected mid 1900s

  8. Micky says:

Any decent streams for the game?

  9. hedski says:

Good first qtr from my guys, Mihocek 22, Cripps 50, Simmo 40 and Captain Treloar 42. 👍

    • Defying_Madness says:

I have Treloar captain as well and he has been useless this quarter. Wish I stuck with Cripps captain.
Treloar is playing full forward now damnit

      • hedski says:

Yep, would be good if he TOUCHED THE BALL in the second half. Cripps and Simmo on fire.

        • Defying_Madness says:

I have Cripps, Simmo and Grundy all which were better captain options. Hurts cause I went Treloar in over Kelly as well. Oh well

  10. Corey says:

Fritsch to De Goey next week?

  11. Tyruddanaut says:

    Cripps! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Brownlow medal for the best trade of the season

  12. Finnius says:

I don't mind the look of Matt Crouch to Cripps next week. Cripps' 98% TOG is just insane.

    • BrownlowBoy says:

Carlton are 2 down which forces him to stay on ground.

    • Matho says:

Stupid sideways move. Do it and Crouch will score 150 next week.

      • Finnius says:

You are probably right – interesting food for thought though. Crouch has a 5 rd average of 92 and hasn't shown a great ceiling this year either.

Will probably hold but could end up costing me 25 ppg (difference between 90 and 115 average).

        • Matho says:

Remember Finnius, trades from now on are gold. If you have 8 or more do it, but the way injuries are going I’d have at least six up my sleeve. Four injuries in today’s game. Anyway, you have been around for a while so you know how SC works.

  13. BlueBaggerJosh says:

Anyone got the C on Crippa? Titch C gonna keep me from a 2000+ score but I'll take a 1900's score in the byes everyday of the week

  14. Tyruddanaut says:

This is alright. We are only losing by 3 umpires…. I mean, 3 goals at three quarter time

  15. hedski says:

Another qtr like that would be nice Treloarsome.

  16. BrownlowBoy says:

    Treloar hamstring

  17. Defying_Madness says:

    TRELOAR DID A ****** HAMMY

  18. AuroraBorealis?! says:

F*ck sake, treloar gone with a hamstring

  19. BlueBaggerJosh says:

Nice transition into promoting wwe lol, can't wait I'll be going

    • BrownlowBoy says:

      How is it so big?

Don't mean to be rude or anything but to me it's just fake crap?

      • AuroraBorealis?! says:

It's just another form of entertainment, im not into it but the story lines they run make it into a sort of live tv-show

      • Jock says:

Wwe is bigger than afl will ever be mate. Maybe not in this country but across the globe has many more fans. Different strokes for different folks!

        • BrownlowBoy says:

Yeah I never really got into it, but each to their own. Will be good for the city of Melbourne.

  20. AuroraBorealis?! says:

At least i have an excuse to get Cripps in now

  21. Finnius says:

    Treloar might be back on…

  22. BlueBaggerJosh says:

1970 pre scaling, pretty happy. Lost 3000 places throughout the first 2 byes to 4000 so hopefully I can climb a bit. Cripps C would make for some big scores though, could've had a 2130 myself

    • Defying_Madness says:

Around 1930 for me, could have been higher but Treloar captain hurt me
Good work though you should climb nicely

    • SamuraiPizzaCat says:

1910 for me this week, pretty happy with that with 17 on field

  23. Horsey says:

Terrible news about Andrews. Set to miss a few weeks. Hopefully that thug Cameron gets a few weeks too.

    • gator59 says:

Cameron should get 4 to 6 weeks for that and it's not the first time he has done it… He broke Mathesons jaw back in 2016 with a similar act with the elbow

  24. Tiger says:

Anyone have any idea as to how much cripps will be this week?

  25. TBone_9 says:

Was waiting to go Brayshaw up to Cripps after this week to get him at his lowest. Wasn’t actually considering he might actually crack his BE and go up in price. Very excited to finally have him though! Hope you all have done better than my 1720 this week 🙂

    • Crow94 says:

      2018 for me

    • Finnius says:

finished with 1923. Pretty happy with that to end the byes 🙂

    • AuroraBorealis?! says:

      1918 for me, not bad

    • hedski says:

1707 from 16 playing, Treloar captain(d'oh), luckily only cramping.

      • TOPHAWK1 says:

Got one over ya Hedski! I was fortunate to have 18 on the field. Thank fark these byes are done and dusted. Undoubtedly, we shall meet again. Cheers mate.

        • hedski says:

Will be good to have 22 again, I've just shuffled the magnets around, looks good. Cheers mate.

    • Defying_Madness says:

1940 here. Treloar captain apart from that solid week

    • Steve says:

      1665 / 14 only , pretty happy with that

    • KSinny says:

      1986 for me

    • Randomcliche2 says:

1998/17 very happy, thanks fellas you really put in today, we were a man down and Cripps, Howe, Simpson you really lifted n1 fellas.

    • TOPHAWK1 says:

1926 after Cripps put on a master class as captain. The byes are over! Survived the last 3 weeks with 1624, 1852, and 1926. 3 round average 1801. Job done. Now time to wait for the re open and pull two juicy trades. Josh Kelly, you are on the menu!

  26. Baggy pants says:

Trelor ok just cramp, channel 9 news.

    • BrownlowBoy says:

      Good news for owners.
Looked terrible when he did it.

    • Defying_Madness says:

      my trades say thank you

    • Scotchman says:

Hopefully they rest him. Magpies playing GCS so he should avoid the short plane trip. I want him firing for the run home and the SC and AFL finals. I have Dow as cover so he will do. Go Magpies.

    • theRealPod says:

I'm constantly amazed how afl players still get cramps. Shows how primitive the nutrition advice is in the modern game, or it could be Treloar had a big night out recently but kept it dark. I am happy that it was just cramps but boy oh boy didn't it look bad!?

      • Cobee Bear says:

To be fair, the position he was in when he got the cramps was putting an extreme load through his hammies

    • Danners says:

Hopefully, only brought him in this week over Oliver

  27. Baggy pants says:

    Sorry Treloar typo.

  28. Jock says:

Full premo this week, cant decide on a forward. Westhoff, franklin, menegola, mundy or hogan? Thoughts community?

    • Jeff says:

I think I'd go with Westhoff of the bunch but I'm also interested in Ben Brown and waiting on Darling to come back

      • Jock says:

Yeah was thinking hoff, but already have gray so not sure whether its a smart move or not

  29. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Fixtures kill you!!! Got 1971 and lost 5 leagues!! Even thou l had 2nd or third highest score. 🙁

    • Jock says:

Know how you feel mate, sitting 13th in one of my leagues even though i have the second highest average. Fixtures are key to league success

    • Tyruddanaut says:

      1901 and won 8

    • TOPHAWK1 says:

Same here Shake! Got pumped in 5/10 leagues this week with 1926. Couldnt believe it. Hanging out for the re open. Time to finalise the Tophawks team. Cheers

      • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Was looking ok Hawk but for some reason didn’t have the luck of the Irish!

  30. poloko48 says:

1972 from 17 – pretty happy with that.
Had VC on Gawn so took that, would've gone Titch for C so that worked out well.
Jonas repaid my faith as well as Goldy and Charlie.
Spuds for the round were Gunston, Roughy, Hibberd and Hurley to a lesser extent.

My team as it stands, with 8 trades left and $131K in the kitty:

DEF: Simmo, Laird, Sicily, Hurley, HIbbo, Jonas (Ridley, Mihocek)
MID: Titch, Danger, Neale, Oliver, Cripps, JPK, Dusty, McLean (Spargo, Ahern, Phillips)
    RUC: Gawn, Goldy (Cameron)
FWD: Heeney, Buddy, Hoff, Roughy, Gunston, Charlie (Smith, Keefe)

    • hedski says:

Great score from 17 Poloko, I'd be looking at swinging McLean fwd and upgrading Roughie to Fyfe?

  31. Moosehead says:

Got one trade to make to full premium but can’t afford the person I want this week so might be stuck with Joel Smith but will he be dropped? Also have Ridley and Duman but not hopeful that either one will play.
    Thoughts @nyone?

  32. Sc_Wow says:

Last minute change of the C paid off. Treloar to Cripps gets me an extra 92 points. Got over 2000 not bad

    • Pod says:

      Nice work wow!!

    • r_calve says:

yes crippa as C worked out very well

    • Russty_ says:

Did you ever know that you're my herooooooo?

      • Jon says:

        Grow up

        • Russty_ says:

Put a sock in it Jon.

          • Jon says:

Take your own advice Rusty. I'm sick of hearing you bagging on. Just get over it!

            • Russty_ says:

Oh well, sorry you feel that way, I'm kinda sick of you telling people to Grow up, and you only just got here, go figure!

            • SC_Sixty6 says:

Don't worry about him Jon he's totally lost the plot. They are in another crappy SC site with about 5 of them whinging all day. He won't let it go and needs to be banned. Haven't seen anything constructive from him. He's just filling this great community with crap.

Just ignore the troll I say!

              • Russty_ says:

Awww…still trying to rag on the site you're banned from mate?…get over it and just stay out of there, I was posting constructive things here years before you and your ventriloquist dummy ever showed up here mate, good luck this week!
This could be a great community again if you and your goiter were finally turfed out.

                • SC_Sixty6 says:

Banned? Haha mate I don't even know what the sites called…..let me guess someone posted in my name? Like on this forum too because they get attention. Funniest thing I've heard all day. Have a good night buddy.

                  • Russty_ says:

Hehe, ok maybe not banned because you have to first have been able to post before you can get banned I guess, let's just say you were never welcome there for your past actions on this site and how much you've damaged it permanently.
Good that you've given up trying though…finally.

              • Russty_ says:

Hahahhaha…funny how things work out ay? "this great Community" is sooo much more peaceful and better now , enjoy whatever other unsuspecting site you've moved onto to infect with your negativity and hate.

    • BVB21 says:

Nice work!!! That’s an awesome score

  33. Tyruddanaut says:

Time to bust my gut getting Crisp in

  34. BrownlowBoy says:

    Supercoach open!

  35. KSinny says:

    Holman – Dawson
    Brayshaw – Kelly

Leaves me with 1 rookie to upgrade with 5 trades and $97k

  36. BadgerHoney7 says:

jumped up 10k in rankings this week back into the top 9k – if I didn't have a shocker in round 12 probably would be in top 3k but thats hwo supercoach goes.

    Full strength now with –
TMac, Sicily, Laird, Yeo, Simmo, Heater – Mihocek, Duman

Fyfe, Danger, Titch, Kelly, Cripps, Gaff, Dusty, Merrett – Giro, Ahern, Mutch

    Gawn, NicNat – Olango

Heeney, Hoff, Gray, McLean, Dev Smith, Walters – Tim Smith, Battle

hoping to come home strong with unfortunately only 4 trades remaining so I will hold for 4-5 weeks and not make any trades unless for a major injury and then when it comes to later rounds I will have a M9 and F7

  37. Tyruddanaut says:

Tossing up between TMac and Crisp. What does the community think?

    • KSinny says:

I'd go crisp just for the $$$

      • Tyruddanaut says:

Don't need the money or DPP, this is my last trade for the season including injury. Average is the only important part

        • KSinny says:

Then you'd have to go Tmac for the big scores

        • Cobee Bear says:

Maybe wait and see how T Mac recovers with the jaw injury he copped against Port? Either way, you're never gonna be comfortable because for every reason you have to select one, there are an equal number of reasons to pick the other

        • INPieman says:

Would be a good idea to save that trade for a season ending injury

          • Tyruddanaut says:

Have two trades left. This is for a D7/F7/M9 option so I won't have to use trades for the rest of the season

            • PeteB says:

TMac for DPP. Hasn’t scored below 80 and has a high ceiling.

            • Russty_ says:

Believe me TY, you will have to use more trades this year…injuries and or suspensions seem to be happening every week this year…I have 7 left and I'm nervous about it.

          • Tyruddanaut says:

            After this week

    • Crow94 says:

      Crisp!

  38. PeteB says:

Which rookie to bring in out of Redman or Battle ?

    • Jeff says:

Wait and see if Redman plays. If yes, then go him. If not go Battle

  39. PeteB says:

Final mid spot to Kelly, Oliver or Danger ?

  40. BoltonsBlues says:

Lets talk DPP and how much we value it from now on (post byes)

My team as it stands with 8 trades left

Tmac, Lloyd, Yeo, Laird, Simpson, Ryan (Austin, Mihocek)
Fyfe, Titch, Oliver, Danger, Cripps, Zerriett, Cogs, Dusty (Phillips, Ahern, Sprago)
    Gawn, NicNat
Heeney, Sicily, Gray, McLean, Fristch, Henry (Guelfi, Smith)

Factoring in DPP and potential averages from here on out, is it worth losing it by moving Tmac down to the forward and getting in Crisp? or keep it and get Walters/Westhoff or someone else?

Going for league wins/total points within my cash league

    • Russty_ says:

Think you need to get rid of Fritsch and Henry regardless, then you'll be full premo.

  41. Ahmad rubas says:

need to trade out 2 of these rookies doedee cole rice and austin which 2 would you trade out assuming the other 2 will be kept as D7 and D8 till the finals

  42. Steeeve says:

I have Fritsch at f7. Looking to upgrade and will have 469k to play with. I can bring in a forward or defence premo for him (would swing Sicily forward). Any good options or should I wait a couple of weeks then choose between Walters and Webster..?

    • KSinny says:

If you don't have McLean yet get him otherwise yeah maybe wait

      • Steeeve says:

Yep I have him. I could 0aint the fence but would prefer to keep as many trades as possible.

    • r_calve says:

tom Jonas at 444k is looking good as a pod

  43. r_calve says:

anyone reckon i should go for Higgins as a POD this week

    • Ahmad rubas says:

Hop on the Doctor SuperCoach podcast round 13 recap listen between 49:00-53:00 and your answer is there

  44. ByeReview says:

Interested to know how much people scores across the three byes, and how this impacted ranking. Put the following below: pre-bye rank; total bye rounds score; post-bye rank.

EG, pre the byes I was ranked 766. Across the byes I scored 5306. That moved me up to 637.

As an extra, chuck in whether you’re full premo and how many trades you have left. I’m full premo with 5 trades left. Have Wingard as F7/M9 (and Fritsch on my forward bench too). How high/low do you reckon I could get from here?

Anyone considering Buddy this week after his bye rest?

    • Ahmad rubas says:

I am tempted by buddy but I don't have McLean in my side still so he will be my final forward upgrade because more consistent and I like his DPP

      • Russty_ says:

Buddy won me 4 of my 7 finals last year scoring 170 in the final round…it's all a matter of opinion I guess.

        • Ahmad rubas says:

I agree buddy is amazing but McLean someone I think I need to jump on at his cheap price also buddy plays hawthorn round 23 not the greatest defender of all time Liam jones 🙂

  46. Daniel says:

Is it worth trading rocky out with only 4 trades left to Cripps or Kelly this week or to use 2 trades instead to bring in dusty this week or next and keep rocky as m9 for the rest of the year, both scenarios will leave me with 2 trades with my current bench cover being philips/giro/ahern

  47. GrizNinja says:

Wow Finally achieved a rank in the top 1000.

    • Russty_ says:

Is there a question there somewhere?

      • Lazza says:

Didn’t see one, but I’d be looking to replace Shaw in that team .. or move him to D9 and bring in another premo his Doedee.

        • Derek says:

I like Shaw. Also like the Rance selection. Need Heeney

          • Lazza says:

Why Shaw? He doesn’t rank in the top 10 under any measure.. he is a ‘bet’ selection, in that we don’t what we will get week to week.. which is ok for D7.
I’d have one or the other but not both Shaw and Rance.. ( I don’t have either)..

      • SC_Sixty6 says:

Did you go for a swim in the ocean Russty? The salt in your posts is posioning!

    • Randomcliche2 says:

Great work, good trades in hand. Get heeney swing sicily.

  48. Trades says:

Straight swap Fritsch to McLean next week!

  49. The Plumber says:

Tempted Octa, but up against Richmond/Rance on Thursday at the MCG. Still, I should look at Buddy for the rest of the year and not be put off by this week. Either Buddy or McLean for my last team spot.
Think I’ll pull the trigger for the Bud and also go to the game and hope it works out. He is so good to watch esp at the best footy ground in Oz. Weather predicted to be ok. Playing league only as I am in the early 2,000’s so I can’t win the $50K although I did gain an extra 989 spots after the weekend. Feeling lucky! Woo Hoo.

  50. The Plumber says:

My bad. Syd-Rich game is at Etihad which I won’t attend cos it is an ordinary ground.

  51. Lazza says:

Dilemma.. was planning to trade out Nank this week to Grundy .. but the timing is crap for most of the top few RUCs.. Grundy (BE 161) and Nic Nat (129) to lose coin this week!! .. is Goldstein (73) the real deal? .. is Grundy really worth $100k more than Goldstein and Nic Nat?? Nank has a 130 BE, so more than likely to lose coin anyway…
Number of trades (12) not an issue.. so could afford to make a mistake.
I’m now leaning toward Nic Nat instead of Grundy .. thoughts?

    • Randomcliche2 says:

      Perhaps. Yes. Don't.

    • SC_Sixty6 says:

Wouldn't be worrying about coin from this point on…..

      • Lazza says:

Hmm, .. but I do want loop hole premos for the finals.. so cash is important.. but to your point $10k here or there shouldn’t be the reason to compromise .. so it’s Grundy then.. 👍

  52. Steeeve says:

Very glad I reversed trades on Goldy to Kreuzer a fortnight ago!! Just hope Goldy remains a pod for me. Playing some great footy after a very lean patch earlier in the season, and (shhhhhhh) has an easy run through the final few rounds.

  53. Sc_Wow says:

    CMON ENGLAND!!!!!!!!

    • Russty_ says:

Do you really like Soccer?…seems like a sport where diving is condoned, blatant acting /faking for a free kick, couldn't really ever get into it myself, just seems like it's against the spirit of real sport…with all the fake acting /staging that seems to happen in every match.
AFL is the total opposite of that sham of a game, except for a few players here and there, but they seem to get found out eventually.

      • Jon says:

And there you go again . . .

      • Sc_Wow says:

Yeah I love it mate, England born and bred, its the world game mate!

Not everyone needs to like it though, I can understand if you don't, but for me, nothing beats it.

        • Russty_ says:

Yeah it could be a really great game if there wasn't so much cheating involved, it's a damn shame really..the way guys throw themselves to the ground holding their faces after some guy barely touches their shoulder with their finger.
          Otherwise, a really good game.

          • Sc_Wow says:

Yeah seems to happen at the top level, can't deny they are amazing athletes though will huge amounts of skill.
The world cup is an amazing tournament

Like I said though, I can understand that its not everyones favorited, just as AFL wouldn't appeal to everyone

            • SC_Sixty6 says:

Very highly skilled! Will not take that away.

They do need an Oscars for the soccer though. Hilarious going down like they've been shot.

              • Lazza says:

Yep, when the best player in the game takes a dive it says it all.. it and the over acting on ankle taps spoil the game..I enjoy it nonetheless and an avid EPL fan (tho the Gunners have been frustrating for a few years now) .. however you couldn’t pay me to watch the A-League..

              • Danners says:

That's the sad thing about the game, I've enjoyed the World Cup and supporting our country. This is the exact reason why it is not growing more in Australia, it's pathetic when players get a little touch on the ankle and they're down for a minute and walk it off like nothing happened

            • Derek says:

Do you play EPL fantasy Wow?

          • Tom says:

It's really not that common if you actually watched the sport, about as common as players like Selwood doing similar but cowardly ducking for frees. Both sports have problems like that but it's ignorant to generalise the entire code by a small aspect. Plus the nature of AFL means of course it's more physical.

        • Ahmad rubas says:

Do you play World Cup fantasy or fpl?

      • Octa says:

Hey mate it aint soccer its SAWKER!
Where kicking a ball gets in the way of diving and celebrating how small each others package is.

      • Joe says:

How to tell when someone has no clue about something and talks out of their ass

    • neil demons delight says:

Russty's correct wow Check out 'afl vs soccer' and look at the Brisbane vs Gold Coast game. I too love soccer and also born and bred Welshman and a life long EELS member supporting all three codes but the diving spoils it but so does Camerons hit. Two sides to it NDD

      • Sc_Wow says:

Yeah AFL is the only sport where knocking out an opponent gives you and advantage. Yeah I've seen that vid that you're referring to. Not all sports need to have dudes getting knocked out for it to be good, its non contact much like the NBA, comparing apples with oranges.

    • Sc_Wow says:

Again guys you don't have to like it, I understand if you don't

      ENGLAND!!!!!!!

    • Irish Joe says:

Boring game with physically weak players and often with 0-0 draws. Wowee.

  54. Marty says:

17 players averaging 100+ and 5 players averaging 90+, how is everyone else's teams going?
6 trades left and 92k with fritsch/guelfi at F6/F7 to reach full premo.

    • Randomcliche2 says:

Team is full premo plus 2 non rookie cover.
Lloyd, Yeo, Laird, Simpson, Howe, Savage (JJ, F/D*)
Fyfe, Titch, Oliver, Danger, Cripps, Zerrett, Cogs, Rocky (M/D*, Ahern*, M/F*)
      Gawn, Nic Nat (donut)
Heeney*, Sicily*, Gray, Menegola*, Smith, Walters* (Petracca*, F/D*)
      $13.14m, 2 trades, $33k.

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Team done hopefully till the SC finals.
      No rooks on field.
If u can believe the "projection" estimating 2460 this week.
      😂

    • No says:

18 and 4, 5 trades left but all for injury cover.

  55. BVB21 says:

    I’m in 57th.

Hoping to push for a top 10 spot.

Full premo with Rockliff as M9.

    • Marty says:

Well done, i would be interested to see your lineup.
Please post your team if you dont mind.

    • Sc_Wow says:

      Nice

    • theRealPod says:

      Excellent work BVB.

    • Derek says:

      Nice.

Love to hear what you think got you there.

      • BVB21 says:

My strategy was to pick players who I thought could become premos this year.

Last year I wanted to pick Kelly and Oliver but the forum told me to pick players like Josh Kennedy and Pendlebury.

I picked players like Toby Maclean and Devon Smith as they both looked to get more midfield time.

I also didn’t pick anyone with an injury concern. So I avoided Hurley, Dangerfield etc

I also listened to yourself (mainly about aggressively trading rookies as last year I lost ground waiting for them to max out)

I also think Wow and Sixty6 played a big role with their advice. I appreciate them continuing to post here even with the abuse they cop from fellow forum members.

I made some mistakes along the way. Kane Lambert and Jack Billings I’m looking at you. But I got rid of them early for Gray and Hogan and i think they saved my season.

I had a few injuries along the way which didn’t help.

I think had I picked macrae I would have been right up there close to the top 10.

    • SC_Sixty6 says:

      Great work!

    • The Ranger says:

Good onya BVB, best of luck mate.

    • onya bvb21 says:

better rank than wow and his dog, good job mate

      • SC_Sixty6 says:

He's done a great job. To hear we have been some influence means our jobs done.

  56. BVB21 says:

D – Sicily, Yeo, Laird, Simpson, Hurn, Savage (Taylor, Redman)

M – Fyfe, Mitchell, Oliver, Dangerfield, Cripps, Wines, Parker, Merrett (Rockliff, Giro, Barry)

    R – Grundy, Gawn (Olango)

F – McDonald, Gray, Franklin, Smith, Hogan, Maclean (Smith, Ahern)

  57. Adam says:

Traded in Jjk 46 now injured
    Traded Andrews now injured
Full premo 11 trades 11k in bank
Was going to go Fogarty to battle have 120k
What to do with two guys above ??

  58. Connor says:

Not surprised re Andrews suffering bleeding on the brain… As someone who has been knocked out multiple times, the fact that he was up and about so early on had me worried – just hope he's ok!

  59. BrownlowBoy says:

Andrews out for a minimum of 2 weeks

    • DavidC says:

Longer I reckon. He is scheduled for another scan in 2 weeks time. Can't see him playing again for at least 4 weeks.

    • INPieman says:

Cameron out for much longer I'd suggest. Dog act

      • BrownlowBoy says:

How'd you go on the weekend INP?

        • INPieman says:

Horror week 1800 on the dot. Dropped 400 spots & almost out of the top 1k. You BB?

          • BrownlowBoy says:

1957 with 18, so was forced to keep Ahern's score unfortunately.

            • INPieman says:

I had Ahern's score & plenty of other under performers this week. Thank goodness the byes are over

              • BrownlowBoy says:

                Agree, thank god.

Somehow the "hardest bye round" (14) was my best bye round?

      • SC_Sixty6 says:

Unfortunate hit. I know Cameron personally and in a split second decision to protect himself it's not a dog act…I don't care what anyone says he didn't raise his elbow to inflict damage to Andrews. Andrews went to intercept and these things happen so main thing is he is ok now.

        • INPieman says:

Bleeding to the brain suggests he's not ok. Cameron's rap sheet won't help him either

        • BrownlowBoy says:

I don't think "it was an accident" is going to hold up for Cameron unfortunately Sixty6. He's got a record, and he might be the best bloke in the world, but doesn't mean his penalty should be any less severe. I think they will go hard on him, and he'll cop 4 weeks minimum.

          • SC_Sixty6 says:

I have no doubt he is gone for around the 3 week mark. But as I said it's not an intentional dog act. You bring your arms up to protect yourself in split second decisions.

            • INPieman says:

No sale 66. Brain fade dog act. He didn't need to raise the elbow. Hopefully he didn't really mean to cause the damage he did. But if he gets 4+ he deserves it. If it was my call he'd be banned for the season at least

              • SC_Sixty6 says:

Good thing you're in charge of nothing. 😀

                • INPieman says:

Sucking on those lemons 66? I hope they are nice & juicy for you

                  • SC_Sixty6 says:

Na mate. I really couldn't give two hoots. Ban him for the season no skin off my nose……goes for 98% of SCers too. After all this is SC talk and no body relevant has him.

              • Holty01 says:

I think Matty Lloyd was spot on when he said that there is no forward in the comp that goes harder for a marking contest then Ben Brown but he has never raised his elbow like Cameron did. Harris Andrews was defenseless running back with the flight not knowing what was coming. Cameron on the otherhand saw the contact coming and irrelevant if its intentional or not, no excuse for what he did. He has done it b4 and with the AFL being tough on any head contact, i would not be surprised if he gets the full 6 weeks with his terrible record.

              • Russty_ says:

No one raises their elbow to "protect themself"…what a crock, he raised his elbow to do damage, and of course this thing would be the only one defending the action…typical.

                • Holty01 says:

It wasnt nice to watch. He will get his punishment. Hard to believe someone when they say it was a accident but has been guilty of the same incident before.

    • prizza says:

We have all done things we are not proud of but seriously, cocked elbow at breakneck speed he will do some serious time.
The best thing to come out of this is that he didnt hit him an inch higher as he may not be with us otherwise .
He took his space away from him and he was making a statement , 6 at the minimum for jezza good bloke or not

  60. Rivo says:

7 trades left, no much cash. One premo to go.

    Austin & Higgins to
    Hurley & P.Wilson?

Or Hold a week or 2 for cash/better options?

  61. Bells says:

1973 and beat Lek this week. Result!

  62. Cobee Bear says:

Who to VC out of Titch/JKelly into a captain out of Gawn/Fyfe?

  63. BrownlowBoy says:

Treloar gone for the year after injuring both hamstrings according to Jon Ralph.

Nothing from the club yet though.

    • Lazza says:

      Yep. SEN reporting 10 weeks..

    • Steeeve says:

      Must have been serious cramp

    • hedski says:

      FFSake…

    • Blueth says:

All the top ranks have Treloar. Bad for Adam, good for the chasers

    • KSinny says:

So glad I got Grundy instead of him this week.

    • INPieman says:

If it's ham…string off the bone he won't play again this season. I just got him in. His legs were convulsing straight after it happened. That's not cramp. In a rare event he might have done both hammy's in one play. Can't recall ever seeing that. And one of them appears to be a fatal blow for the season. Injury trade

      • Lazza says:

That’s what they are saying .. one hammy off the one the other pulled.

      • hedski says:

Tossed him and Clarry 3 weeks ago, looks like I chose wrong Pie, will have to check my options now. Trades getting low….

    • gator59 says:

When is the carnage going to end ffs… May as well give the game away… All I seem to be doing is trading premos in and trading them back out due to injury

      • neil demons delight says:

get Billings in gat nice and cheap

      • Druids says:

That is why I suggested the other day that we need more trades to cope with the increase injuries and got howled down about it. Despite what the experts say, LUCK VIP

        • Derek says:

Some people have a lot more trades than others. No luck in that. I still have 10, going to need them all.

          This happens every year.

          • Defying_Madness says:

I would argue there is luck in that, I made one sideways trade this year which was Billings to McLean and every other trade has been an upgrade or an injury. Only traded out my rookies when they were injured or had peaked just been slammed with injuries all year.

            • Derek says:

I would gladly swap one of my trades to have gone Billings to McClean. Still have Billings

          • TOPHAWK1 says:

            Hi Derek,

I have 8 trades left going into the business end of the season.

Know it is very skinny, but I play for rank every year. My current position is 5335 post byes. Very happy. (+7000)

Grappling whether to pull more trades to get Kelly, or just hold…….

        • Randomcliche2 says:

Nah mate, take it back to 24 when you really had to be judicial with your trades… so much more difficult.

      • hedski says:

Round 22 before grand final I reckon Gator.

      • SC_Sixty6 says:

Touch wood I had my bad run at the start of the season. 5 premos injured within 3 weeks. Only been rookies since then so hopefully continues for me.

  64. Ja191 says:

Should I have whitfield or coniglio as my m8, the other ones turning into crippa. Thinking whitfield but conigs hasn't been scoring well lately

  65. BrownlowBoy says:

Andrews has been told there is a good chance he can play in 3-4 weeks.

    • INPieman says:

Star. Lets hope we see him again soon. Such a great young player

      • Holty01 says:

Lets hope so. And lets hope he is still the player he is. When this happens to some players they are never the same.

  66. Michael says:

Who do I trade out for cripps? Merret, dusty, Parker

    • INPieman says:

Don't trade out a man alive at this time of the year. Unless your flush with trades

    • Randomcliche2 says:

Tough call. Assuming you've got Kelly? I like him more than cripps…. I think Zerrett outscores dusty, as he is only stinking it up every second week. Parker ain't pretty, but it's been such a long time since dusty hit a tonne, I'm not sure when he'll turn the corner, but you'll want him when he does. But I traded out Martin…. not owned parker this year….

    • Russty_ says:

Hey Mike, depends on how many trades left mate…if you still have 8 or 9, and you don't think Dusty will improve, he's probably most likely to go I think, I've held him and hoping he can turn it around…could bite me though.

  67. Defying_Madness says:

If Treloar misses I can burn two trades to get Kelly or just 1 trade and get Curnow or Gaff. Saving the trade is probably better right?

    • INPieman says:

What's your situation DM? Trades vs premos needed can determine an answer

      • Defying_Madness says:

4 trades left and sitting full premo unfortunately. Wishing I brought in Kelly last week instead of Treloar

    • Tyruddanaut says:

I’d say Curnow. He’s a good hard player who can turn on when Carlton need him the most

    • Randomcliche2 says:

      Hmmmm….depends on your cover….I like Kelly…

  68. Tiger says:

Playing for leagues. 2 midfield spots left . Cripps, Kelly or Selwood? Cripps will definitely fill one. I like Selwood's run home in the finals and that is tempting me over Kelly. Your thoughts appreciated advance, cheers.

    • Sam says:

Kelly and Cripps are almost certainties to be top 8 averaging midfielders in the remaining games, Selwood although a POD doesn't have a high enough ceiling imo

    • Tyruddanaut says:

Kelly’s average will be higher than Selwoods

    • Russty_ says:

Cripps has turned into a Beast, but carries a lot of the Blues hopes every week and cops the appropriate knocks along the way, Kelly's an absolute gun and was always going to get back to being the premo he was after he got over his injury, those two in front of Selwood for me.

      • TOPHAWK1 says:

I have the beast, and now I am after the smoking gun……..

        Enter Joshua Kelly.

Will have to play some serious trade poker to get him, but I will leave no stone unturned in order to secure his services.

        • Russty_ says:

Hell yeah Hawk, go for it mate…not sure I'll be able to afford Kelly this year which could hurt me but might have to go for a bit of an up and comer…DeGoey instead, now Treloar's out for an extended period.

          • TOPHAWK1 says:

Looks like all my traffic lights are turning green at the perfect time! Traded in de Goey last week because of his low price and extra midfield time. I needed more forward line grunt so he was a nice fit. Now that Treloar is out, he will get even more midfield time. I reckon I can get the smoking gun mate! Not trading until all teams named. Not getting ahead of myself. Cheers Russty!

            • Russty_ says:

Sounds good mate…getting De Goey in last week was a good call I reckon, I'll have to wait until next week unfortunately because of Andrews being smashed this week so I'm bringing in Yeo and Cripps for Holman.
              Degoey next week for Brayshaw.

    • Tiger says:

I guess I was worried about Kelly's groins, but thanks fellas for your input. Both will come in this week Cheers.

  69. Murray says:

Who would you trade out or rank in order between the following:
    Spargo, Fritsch, Holman and guelfi.

Is there any of these 4 that you would keep as D9 or F7?

    Thoughts appreciated

    • Sam says:

      1. Holman (has maxed out), 2. Fritsch (also maxed out) 3. Spargo (if he gets a game in, he still has a bit of cash to make) 4. Guelfi (still making cash)

Frtisch would be the only one I would consider keeping at F7

      • Murray says:

Thanks Sam, think I will trade him to make some cash

        • Cobee Bear says:

1 Fritsch (Scoring like a premo) 2. Guelfi (60+s and making $ 3. Holman (capable of a bid score but bleeding $) 4. Spargo (JS inconsistent/unreliable.

Fritsch the only one I would keep

          • Tyruddanaut says:

I wouldn’t say Fritsch is a premo. He’s about 7-8 points off average

          • PeteB says:

In order of first to trade out: Holman (losing cash), Spargo (low Js, low scoring may not generate more cash), Guelfi (still making cash), Fritsch (not premo but worth holding until last upgrade or as bench cover)

    • Tyruddanaut says:

Holman (maxed out), Spargo (low scoring), Guelfi (low scoring), Fritsch (good player with consistency for an F7

    • JohnDJ59 says:

      I'm keeping Fritsch and Guelfi.

  70. Yeahnahyeah says:

Sitting at full premo now with Fritsch F6. 6 trades left 400k in bank, is it worth upgrading Fritsch or Stef Martin or should I save the trades?

    • JEL says:

Not sure I'd class Fritsch as a premo, avg of 77, whereas the top 6 FWD are 95+.
Even his 5 rd avg is 89. If the opportunity came to either move him on for a true premo, or find a spot as F7 I'd take it.

      • PeteB says:

Yeah he’s not premo, but the last rookie upgrade to make. Or if your lucky enough to have the luxury a great F7.

    • Russty_ says:

Not sure if you mainly play for rank or Leagues Yeahnah…If I were in your shoes I'd be tempted to just get the best forward in you can for Fritsch and hold Stef for now..he should bounce back.

Hi Yeahnah, I'd upgrade Fritschy to the best fwd you can get and maybe hang onto Stef for now, 3 tons before his turdy 68, he's still a good Ruckman.

If I’m downgrading a rookie this week, would it be a good idea to trade in a non-playing rookie in order to use the VC loophole, considering all my other rookies are playing?

Ha Ha … just saw this on the Richmond board.

If Rance and Buddy dive at the same time, who gets the free?
