THE CHEAT SHEET Round 12

Filed in Supercoach by on 07/06/2018 • views: 7391
I promised you this week I would look at Gold Coast players, and I am not one to break my promise. So I have dived into the depths that is Gold Coast’s list and unearthed some players who could help guide you through the bye rounds.
I shouldn’t have to say this, but don’t trade out Nat Fyfe.
Max Gawn and Brodie Grundy go head to head in the Queen’s Birthday clash between Melbourne and Collingwood, and it also represents a great cause. All donations are tax deductible and a donation as little as $1 helps, so get around the campaign and laugh with us all as we watch all 18 coaches go down the slide into an ice bath.
I’ve put my money where my mouth is, and I’ll be donating $100.
Back to the cheat sheet though, I’d like to hear from you!
Should I continue to recommend ruckmen, or what else should I put there?

I’m considering trading Dusty this week if the carnage is as bad as I’m expecting. Should I consider Lyons? Or just pick up a Buddy/Gray/Menegola?

  2. hedski says:

    Billings finally omitted!!!
    And Tim Smith (boo).
Good on ya Damo, great cause.

  3. neil Dees 4 premiers says:

Great st time offuff Damo and wonderful cause too.Dusty to Selwood for me just think Dusty will take more Cheers NDD

  4. neil Dees 4 premiers says:

Bloody laptop GREAT Stuff damo and wonderful cause too Dusty to Selwood for me NDD

  5. Defying_Madness says:

2 donuts for me yummy. about 7 players out this week who I thought would be playing come last week

  6. iLoveNMFC says:

    Thoughts Community?
    Play 18:
Option A- Triple downgrade Ridley, Cumming and Dom Barry to Ahern, Heron and Mihochek?
Option B- Downgrade Cumming and Barry to Ahern and Heron and upgrade Dusty to Oliver/Kelly/Westhoff?
    Play 17:
Option C- Downgrade Cumming and Barry and upgrade Fritsch to Walters/Buddy?

    Thanks!

  7. Marty says:

Carnage…Fyfe Laird Cogs Dusty T Smith …how many players do we all have on field now?

    • Defying_Madness says:

I have Ridley as well so am left with 16. Spread out my premos across all the rounds so now the weak coaches who didn't prepare for byes and have a tonne of round 14 players will be laughing. Oh well this game is all luck anyway

    • BlueBaggerJosh says:

17, could trade Martin to make it 18 but not sure if i should or if its necessary. Fyfe, Laird, Cogs should all be short term (not sure about Laird) but apparently martin might be out until round 15.

    • Ohh dear says:

      14…….

    • Steeeve says:

I can get to 18 if I trade out two players with negative breakevens. Sigh.

    • Ahmad rubas says:

17 before trades should be able to field 18 this week I'm already short for rounds 13 and 14 which is a good sign

  8. neil Dees 4 premiers says:

    Billings has been dropped

  9. The King says:

Thought this was meant to be the easy bye round. Laird, Fyfe, Martin, Coniglio all out will hurt almost everyone.

    • fono says:

…and rookies Tim Smith and Jordan Ridley…ouch!

      I'm officially screwed :/

    • theRealPod says:

Think of it this way. Just about all teams will suffer in at least one of the bye rounds, maybe all of them. Try to lessen the damage as much as you can even if all previous plans are scrapped. You might need to burn maximum trades but remember the other guy is in the same boat.

      • The King says:

At least my league opponents are worse off then I am, one positive

  10. TommyC99 says:

So no Fyfe, cogs, Laird, Ridley, Tim Smith, Dusty and billings, plus all the rounds 12 bye players. Completely ruined my trade plans and thought I was alright at the start of the week when I counted 20 playing players. Now doubt I’ll get 18 on the park. God I love SuperCoach,

  11. SCWars94 says:

Dont know about all you guys but im not even bothering with round 12 😂. What a f#cking disaster!!!

  12. johnno2908 says:

Well…What a c*nt of a round this has turned out to be.

    • Griggsy says:

Have 13 before trades. Carefully plotted but didn’t count on no Fyfe, cogs, Dusty, Laird, Smith, Ridley! Absolutely rooted

  13. JEL says:

T Smith listed as omitted, not injured?

Scraping to put 18 on the park this week with 3 premo holes in the team

    • Steeeve says:

Think I'm going to have to flick him. It hurts but he ain't playing for at least the next two weeks. I'd planned to move Spargo on but I need warm bodies. Smith out R Gray in.

  14. seen_burns says:

    rip.

  15. Russty_ says:

You'd have to think Dusty would be telling Coach he'll be staying in NZ for 2 weeks to 'heal up his calf soreness' right?..and then the bye.
I'm sure he could still get to all the Bikie parties in a wheelchair.

    • DEES NUTS R BIG says:

Haven't people heard Dusty has a clause or two in his contract – perfect timing and excuse to do as he pleases.

  16. MEK says:

Billings to Westhoff or should i do Henry or Ronke instead

    • The King says:

Billings to Hoff, or any Port FWD is a good trade

    • redherringfc says:

I was holding Billings for the Suns game, but I doubt he’ll only be out for 1 week.

If Richo has lost patience with him, so have I.

Kept trying to avoid the Hoff, but this week has been brutal. I think I need him now.

  17. Neverweaken says:

Every year I plan my byes. Hold players to cover byes. Accept some losses knowing I have good bye cover.
And then the SC Gods punish me for daring to plan for the byes. Lesson learned I think. F*ck the byes. Get who you want when you want.

    • Russty_ says:

Agree mate, you can try to plan ahead for this game but then this happens, worst case scenario is you lose all 3 but still finish ok in your Leagues cause you have the team you want, not with 3 or 4 guys you didn't really want.

  18. AuroraBorealis?! says:

any idea on how long dusty will be out for? Above, shake and bake said he wont be back until rd 15, but on an article i read the coach seems to think it'll be a one week injury. If he's out for a while i might go to phillips

    • The King says:

I'd still hold him if he's going to be back round 15, especially if you can field 18 this week and next.
For me, it would only be worth the trade if there was a 110 av GC or Port mid to bring in and you avoid a donut

    • Russty_ says:

I reckon the real question is Aurora…how long does he need off to be able to get his head back in the game, his desire to do his best, which includes tackling etc.

      • redherringfc says:

I’m hoping the answer to your question Russty is 3 weeks.

A perfect final upgrade in round 15.

    • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Did hear an interview saying if it is a calf the most likely scenario we wont see him till after his bye. But maybe its just like others are saying needs a break.

  19. George S says:

Given that the Saints expect to have Carlisle, Gilbert and perhaps Brown all available in 1 week, does that mean Logan should be steered clear off- particularly given the negative appraisal given by his coach this week.
There are similarities between T. Smith and Logan- rookies who scored really well in the first 2 games and were considered "must-haves". We all know how that worked with Smith- a lowly 26 points and then dropped the week after.

    • seen_burns says:

I am staying away from Austin.

    • The King says:

      Agree

    • CazzaRazza says:

Should we be worried about Ahern. (Apart from his knee history) I was planning to get him after the byes and his second game, but what is his JS like? Better than T. Smith and Logan I hope! I might have to trade him in this week.

      • seen_burns says:

What I've heard from Scott talking about him is that he wants to play him and thinks he'll be a star, it's just about whether his body was ready playing AFL.

    • Marcus says:

All Austin needs to do is hold his spot this week and next week and he would have gained 100k+, think he is worth it for the fast cash generation

      • redherringfc says:

I’ve thought the same thing. But I’m too worried about next week, so I’m going to hold off and wait for Mihocek to get on the bubble.

  20. BrownlowBoy says:

I now have an excuse to trade Jack [email protected]#$%^& Billings

    • Russty_ says:

Hey BB, you should be able to get a decent rookie with what Billings is worth now.

      • BrownlowBoy says:

Yeah I'm stuffed Rusty for this week. Fielding 18 at the moment, with 7 of them being rookies.

  21. George S says:

    From the AFL website……..
The Tigers expect Martin to return to Australia on Sunday or Monday and start preparing for the game against the Cats.

    • George S says:

Although (playing devils advocate, and dabbling in conspiracy theories) who recovers from a calf injury by taking a 3 hr each way flight, allowing the hamstring and calf to tighten up further? It does sound suspicious- perhaps he just needed a mental break
      ?

  22. Havin a crack says:

    HELL
    I’m fielding 6 so-called premo’s
and a had full of blokes I don’t even know how to pronounce their name correctly.
I’m now thinking stuff my rank
    stuff my league wins
    Keep my 3 precious trades
And have a punt on the pony’s for 3 weeks

  23. Rocksta_ says:

OMG, before trades I have 13 eligible players down from 20 forecast last week.
SC Gods, I give up. You have well and trully fkd me!

    • The Ranger says:

I got 17 playing. Only 10 (sort of) premos.
Think I'm gonna just award myself a bye.

  24. MEK says:

Should keep Ronke or tarde him and should i get rid of Murphy this week

    • Russty_ says:

Both are named onfield this week, depends on how many you have on the park I guess and who you're thinking of getting?

      • MEK says:

Billings to Hoff then not sure i have 16 trades and 390k

        • Russty_ says:

Could be risky but Billings to Ahern would make you some nice cash for future upgrades, Ahern looks like a good player.

  25. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Had 8 players playing in my fwd line now with Billings and Smith out makes it easy who to bench!

  26. Doc_1 says:

Need 3 forwards to round out my forward line.
(Already have Walters, Sicily, Dev Smith).

Best 3 to complete it with (irrespective of bye week)?
Gray, Heeney, Buddy, JJK, McLean, TMac

Have Taranto as my M9/F7 swing.

    • Havin a crack says:

Heeney, McLean then toss of a coin, jjk and gray have the easier games come sc finals if that helps

    • Lazza says:

I think you need 3.5… under my system DSmith is sub-premo..
I’d suggest McLean, TMac, Heeney and consider The Hoff as a replacement for DSmith.

    • Sc_Wow says:

D Smith is fine as f6 mate

      • Doc_1 says:

Agreed, particularly if I can loop Taranto’s score with him. (Assuming all mid premos playing).

      • Lazza says:

I’d rather have Buddy .. DSmith ok at F7 instead of Taranto.. if ya gonna loop IMO you need a player with a high ceiling.. neither Smith or Taranto fit that mould..

      • Lazza says:

Your earlier discussion (other threads during the week) around JJK also would play to this scenario.. and provide some cash for the upgrades.. I’m Thinking seriously about JJK as my F7, having him and Buddy as my loop options. (I already have Buddy).

        • CaptainObvious says:

With Darling gone for 6-weeks JJK is now the go to fwd at west coast again. He's still a bargain for next week and everybody should get him.

      • Jack says:

I agree Wow, I'd almost back him to outscore Hoff from here on in. Even if he doesn't it will be such a small amount it won't justify a trade and cash

    • JohnDJ59 says:

Out of that lot I like McLean, Heeney who I have and Buddy. I'm trading in Hogan this week as a value pick, since I think he will end up in the top six fwds. That will leave me with Buddy still to get after the byes.

  27. WTFoxtrot_58 says:

3 trades this week and still 5 non players on field. ..
Think I might go and sandpaper my balls in readiness for the next cricket season…gotta be more fun!!
Anyone know where I can get some cheap 120 grit??

  28. Marty says:

I would appreciate some thoughts from our wonderful community.

Weighing up worth v risk for this round. Ranked in the 900's I'm thinking of Martin to Menegola and Ridley to Austin. Both sideways trades which are against my SC rules but this round will catch many people out and the thought of a much higher ranking is tempting. Allows me to have 18 players in field. Gives me 3 players still for full premo but after trading I will have 12 trades left. Plenty of cash generation though with Holman, Guelfi, Higgins, Spargo, Langdon.

    Thoughts?

    • Swans2012 says:

I'd go hard now Marty, I'd rather use them now than wish I had…..

    • theRealPod says:

I would forget the old rules and go with ya gut. This is THE test of the season so far and how you act now will decide your SC fate. You're within striking distance of a very good finish so imo go for it.

      • Marty says:

Thanks guys. Have to also think about not running out of trades. Will go for glory and wait for the SC Gods to bend me one more time.

  29. Connor says:

My list of INS vs OUTS (non-bye players):
    IN – M. Crowden

    OUT – D. Martin, S. Coniglio, N. Fyfe, R. Laird, J. Billings, J. Ridley, T. Smith

And this was meant to be the easy one…

  30. BrownlowBoy says:

With some of those onfield being Murphy, Spargo, Langdon – doesn't fill me with confidence!

  31. Rivo says:

Dodged a bullet this week but trading to lock in 19 playing..

    Out: Keefe, Spargo & Murray;
    In: Austin, Ahern & T-Mac.

Murray on extended bench and taking the punt on Ahern.
Good luck community. It’s going to be a bumpy ride!

  32. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Thats it im moving into a cave till the byes r over!
    What a whitewash!
    And @ARK ESSENDON [email protected]@@@!!!!
Mutch and now Ridley. Bye planning so thought would select 2 rd 13 rooks rather than Ronke and Rice.
Lesson learnt select the best rookie and the byes can get stuffed. 🖕

Gr8 bye planning so had 18-20 each 3 rds just gone completely out the window.

R we trading Crusty? Ahhhhhj 😱

    • Russty_ says:

I'm thinking about trading Dusty Trigga, stuff him, not even trying and dropping so much from what I paid, and now we find out he's injured?…stuff him!, he can go to his NZ Bikie parties and I'll get someone in who does care about their Footy.

    • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

I play you Trigga l think in Rat pack. Fielding 18 myself l hope without anymore late surprises!

    • JohnDJ59 says:

I didn't worry about the byes, traded in Ronke and Rice on the bubble, didn't get either of Mutch or Ridley.

  33. Sam says:

Pick two out of westhoff, boak and walters!! I already have gray

    • Rivo says:

      Walters & Hoff for me.

    • joe says:

Boak for me. Westhoff's scoring is probably going to dip now that Ryder is back. Walters has a bye upcoming and a chequered injury history. Boak hardly misses a game and is having his best season for years.

  34. Swans2012 says:

thats it I'm doing it one last time, for old times sake and for what he's done for me in the past,

Welcome aboard Gary, Gary bloody ablett welcome to the team

(And my season is pretty well shot anyway so might as well throw a bit of Gary into the mix!)

    • theRealPod says:

With the negative opinions of some in the media he could easily hit some old Gaz form. Might be a brilliant move. I'm just hoping he stays fit for the rest of the year and helps get the Cats to the finals.

    • Russty_ says:

Good luck mate, don't think he's been this cheap for quite a few years, hopefully he holds together for ya!

    • redherringfc says:

      Don’t do it.

      The gods will punish you.

    • FotherMuckers says:

The little Master is really starting to hit form. Meters gained means his hammies seem ok, overhead marks says his shoulder is ok and higher number of tackles backs that up. I'm with you. He is worth the risk of 2 trades to get him in and then replace him if necessary through injury. His price will justify the trades if he holds up for a few weeks.

  35. KSinny says:

Flicking Dusty this week, thinking of getting either Treloar, Phillip's or Duncan. Who should I get out of these 3 or should I get someone else?

    • Russty_ says:

Treloar's been very solid, Phillips too, Menegola's been good too and is cheaper but with a couple of spuddy scores chucked in there.
Phillips is looking like a gun lately though playing on the wing. Treloar probably the safest choice.

    • Sunshine says:

I’m flicking Dusty too. I can see him having a longish rest with a ‘calf twinge’.
Is Josh Kelly out of the question? He is two games back, lots of possessions but efficiency down thus his high BE (135) but so was T. Kelly and look what a good score last week did to that.
I am assuming he is over his injury!

      • Ja191 says:

watched him the past few weeks. will finish 110-115 for rest of season imo injuries aside he's a jet

    • Swans2012 says:

Duncan is a cracking pod, rarely plays bad,but I like gary, but that's more just so I can say Gary is in the team one last time. Only so many points to go around at feeling though…..

  36. Kanga says:

11 premos out this week and currently fielding 14 before any trades.
Time to pack this SH!+ in.

Might let things role until Monday and if in a position to win the league matches I might trade in Oliver and Hogan.

  37. Ahmad rubas says:

17 playing this week before trades feeling kinda lucky
    4 defenders
    5 midfielders
    2 rucks
    6 forwards
Is midfield the weakest spot for most teams this week?

  38. Jack says:

Imagine at the start of the year someone told you the planned on 'upgrading' dusty to Phillips.

  39. Gem says:

166K – 16 Trades – Really appreciating your trade advice this week. Much appreciated
DEF: Laird, Simpson, Shaw, L Murphy, Doedee, Sicily, (Cole, Yeo)
MID: Rockliff, Danger, Spargo, E Phillips, Cogs, Petracca, Brayshaw, Holman (Fyfe, Titch, Dusty)
    RUC: Gawn, NicNat (Olango)
FWD: Heeney, Maclean, Buddy, D Smith, Guelfi, Fritsch (Billings, T Smith)

  40. Rick Grimes says:

This is the time to stay calm community. Looks like everyone is In a similar position, so don't make any rash trades you'll regret in a couple of weeks. A good captain choice or a clever upgrade will be the key this week. Not sure sideways trading of premos is the strategy to employ. Just my opinion.

    • Russty_ says:

Fair enough Rick…is trading Dusty out this week a rash trade though?…or do we stick with him and hope he'll turn his form around after his break?

    • The Ranger says:

      Spot on Rick.
Drinking heavily is also a sensible strategy over the byes.
      Just my opinion.

      • Russty_ says:

I agree Ranger..Whiskey with ice and many of them lol…and holding your head in your hands until it all goes away hahah

      • Rick Grimes says:

That's actually the best advice. And it's not just applicable to this week. Works the whole year.

    • Sc_Wow says:

      My opinion is Dusty’s cooked.

      • Russty_ says:

How long do you think he'll be hitting the Bongs in New Zealand Wow?

        • Sc_Wow says:

He will be smashing them all byes

          • Rick Grimes says:

I'll hold Dusty. After he gets his fill of the good Northland green, he'll come back with a vengeance. Will be a nice POD when he clocks up 160s.

    • Shake_n_Bake says:

Hey Rick playing in Triggs league looks like you have been hit really hard with 16 outs!

  41. HumanBob says:

    Gosh damn poo!
Even after trading in 3-500k+ players I've only got 17 on field this week.
    Thanks Messrs Fyffe, Laird, Coniglio

    • Sc_Wow says:

      You’re back!
Yep I’m missing those blokes too, managing to feild 18.
What are you doing with darling bud?

      • HumanBob says:

Back early, I don't normally appear until friday night.
6 weeks is too long, I'll take the cash and get JJK next week, now that he's the #1 fwd for a genuine contender.

    • SC_Sixty6 says:

#2 rank can only field 17 max too. Happens to the best of us.

  42. Grapes says:

Go through Damo’s cheat sheet the last few weeks and not everything Damo suggests is correct. You can do better than Miller surely.

    • SCDamien says:

If you look on Twitter the last few weeks, I actually post a checklist once a round is done ticking and crossing the ones I got right and wrong. Last week's was a shocker.

  43. Sharknado says:

Do I trade Spargo or Tim Smith out, was initially going to trade spargo but after carnage that'll only leave me with 17. Have 18 if I get rid of Smith, do we see Smith returning for r14?

    • Jack says:

I'd also like to know this. Smith out gets me 18, Spargo out gets me more cash….I'm leaning towards Smith out

    • FearTheBeard says:

      Questioning the same thing 😐

    • Sharknado says:

Ended up doing neither and saving a trade for next week, will upgrade spargo to a mid who's had their bye already

  44. Hobart says:

Someone mentioned earlier that he was trading Dusty for Kelly, GWS. He is certainly a POD being in only 7% of teams. Surely he is over his injury. He could go berserk against GCS this week. My only concern is how much did he depend on Mummy last year although his games before injury were good.

  45. Murray says:

Absolute carnage this week. I went from 21 players on field to 13. I am also now needing to burn a couple of extra trades than I wanted. With my 277k cash I was thinking :
Out coniglio, Garlett (carl) and Ridley
In T McDonald, Austin and rance ( I am 2k short of getting Walters)

If I wanted Walters I would need to trade L Murphy but low and behold he is playing. I suppose the question I have is Murphy ia warm body on the field and is Murphy and rance points going to be more than Walters?
    What would you do?

    • Randomcliche2 says:

Sacrifice a weeks score and get your team right. May not be double up with only $277. Perhaps consider building a bigger bank for next week with a rookie over Rance. There will be some better post bye players to pick up. Gray cheaper than Tmac, allow rance up to walters? just a thought without seeing team.

    • Sc_Wow says:

If you’re up there for rank trade your ass off. If not then hold I guess

  46. JugHead says:

Need a quick reality check. Is it crazy to brong T kelly back in?

  47. Russty_ says:

PATIENCE, can be a virtue fellas, those of you with less that 15 trades left, thinking about burning 4 to 6 trades in the next 3 weeks to get through the byes, and win a couple of games instead of losing them, I'd say, unless you are in with a real shot of winning the whole thing, try to be conservative.
If you have accepted the reality of your situation, (that Leagues are all you have left to play for) then maybe try to last the season by not overtrading.
You can't win any League Finals if you have no trades left, in fact, you will slide way down the ladder fast and have no chance of winning if you run out of trades…and then you will be in a world of shit, and not like Supercoach very much towards the end of the season.
So, Patience is my advice…cause it is a marathon, not a sprint, and patience can pay dividends, if you're prepared to wear a few losses along the way of your journey to number one in your League. 🙂
If you can exercise abstinence, from trading, when everyone else is, and have some in reserve for when 2 of your premos go down before your grand final, you could end up winning it all in your League and getting the ultimate bragging rights.

I tried this strategy last year and won 6 out of 10 Leagues and also ended up ranked 1500 or so…good enough for me. 🙂

    • Sc_Wow says:

But also trade dusty like there’s no tomorrow

      • Russty_ says:

Or will he be a pod in a few weeks if you don't trade him out?..:)

        • Sc_Wow says:

If 50% ownership is pod then maybe, he won’t even get that low though

    • JohnDJ59 says:

I'm with you Russty, I'm not even worrying about the byes, just trading for the best of my team, I'll be alright for this round, but round 13 and 14 no good and I'm not about to waste trades just to get a few more players on the field. A word of warning to J.Hogan owners, I just traded him in.

      • Redpill5 says:

        You bastard!

        • JohnDJ59 says:

With my record over the last month, he's bound to get a low score and then withdraw injured for the next game.

            • JohnDJ59 says:

I hope so,I was hesitant about bringing Jesse in since we are playing the Pies and I didn't want to put the mozz on him, but after Smithy was dropped it seemed the right trade.

Yes I know I am way behind in upgrading but am not sure what to do this week and am completely stuck after team announcements

    • Randomcliche2 says:

I'm not counting many green lights. Try get some more while building/upgrading s.t. cash in hand. I'd go Austin, Rocky and Walters/Hogan/Boak s.t. other byes haven't counted. Outs perhaps Mirra, not going to get a game, Tim Smith, dropped and Dow? Haven't added it up…see if works. Cheers

    I officially Quit supercoach

    J. Macrae
    T. Mitchell
    P. Cripps
    A. Gaff
    S. Coniglio
    Z. Merrett
    D. Martin

1 out of my 8 out i could cover for 4 of them but not 7!!!!!!!!!

    • Sc_Wow says:

You know macrea gaff Cripps and tich were always going to miss this week right?

      • TommyC99 says:

Yeah having 4 with the same bye in the same position probably isn’t smart, max 3 imo

        • JEL says:

          Why does that matter??

          • Randomcliche2 says:

It matters a lot for these 3 weeks. Because with one more out i.e. a non-bye player, it relies on other lines being super strong. Too many issues.

Can be alleviated with swings, but there aren't many good ones, perhaps Mcdonald and Sicily that's about it.

      • BlueBaggerJosh says:

        Carnage!

  50. TommyC99 says:

So finally trading billings this week. Grab Buddy, Gray or Hoff?

  51. SC_Sixty6 says:

18 on field this week. 6 rookies 12 premos. Laird and Fyfe out that weren't going to be for Rd 12.

10 trades left and Dusty I goneski! 17 premos next week on field and week after 14 premos on field. Looking good and even after this week's carnage still managing to field enough players.

    • Russty_ says:

I wish you luck mate getting through the rest of the year with 10 trades left now. Hope it works out for ya, but if it doesn't, make sure you hang around, cause there's a lot of blokes who'll want a piece of you haha.
Best of luck going forward! 🙂

      • SC_Sixty6 says:

Haha. You worry too much Russty! Plenty of trades mate. Do this year in year out.

I'm sure people want a piece! My plan is to walk the walk. Confident on how my team is shaping. Goodluck to you in the byes.

    • Marty says:

Similar numbers with 11 premos. Captain choice will make a huge difference.

    • Derek says:

I’m getting rid of Coniglio before Dusty.

Coniglio was always a sub-premium. Where Dusty is still top 8 mid.

Tossing up between Crouch and Kelly, prob go Crouch.

      • SC_Sixty6 says:

Although cogs has scored better than Dusty overall thus far…..each year is different.

      • Defying_Madness says:

Last two weeks Cogs looked very good with Kelly in the side. He was going huge last week until the concussion. I hope it doesn't come back to bite you

        • JohnDJ59 says:

I'm keeping both, but I guess Derek could be thinking about how players coming back from concussion have gone, thinking Lloyd last year and Merrett this year.

          • Defying_Madness says:

Thinking both of those didn't have much to do with the concussion. Lloyd had his role stolen and Merret was tagged and played in a terrible team

            • SC_Sixty6 says:

Wouldn't go off being in a terrible team as a major factor……Zorko……

              • Jack says:

Cripps, Macrae, Gaz at Gold Coast. Being in a terrible team can help, less points to share around, not that Essendon are that terrible anyway

  52. Marcus says:

Im thinking I might just hold Dusty this week, then if not named next week just trade him to a mid thats already had their bye
Gives me another week to assess and wont lose any points out of it

  53. Jeffrey says:

McDonald or Menogola? Byes no factor in decision just long term best keeper as a lock in forward top 6

  54. James says:

Any suggestions for trades got 15 left and & $91k. Got no clue who to trade this week pls help. Already done Murphy to Austin so far.

DEF: Laird Yeo Sicily Hurley Simpson
    Doedee (Cole Murphy)

MID: Fyfe Cripps Titch Danger Martin Cogs Zorko Holman (Spargo Brayshaw Phillips)

    RUCK: Gawn Martin (Cameron)

FWD: McLean Heeney Menegola Fritsch Henry Guelfi (Smith Keefe)

    • JohnDJ59 says:

Your team looks alright, since you don't have a lot of cash, you can't really upgrade and the best rookies don't get to the bubble until after this round, I would sit tight till the next round, the trade you have done, is good enough. PS if you don't want to hold Dusty, you could get Oliver or Crouch in.

  55. Trades says:

Is rockliff going to be tagging ROS?
If so I can get in Ablett, Zorko or menagola

    • Sc_Wow says:

Right now that looks like his only effective role in the team

    • Maverick_ says:

I think that’s most probably the case.
I like either of them 3 options menegola fwd though!
Ablett at 485k is serious value if he can get going like we know he can.

      • ATeam12345 says:

Zorko in red hot form, Ablett could get going or could take a break. Menegola handy to swing in the fwds

    • DavidC says:

Port said that Rocky is not the designated tagger. They just made the decision for him to tag at quarter time as he wasn't finding the pill enough.

  56. George S says:

May I ask what people think of Callum Moore's & Heron's job security? Sick of bringing in rookies who make a bit of money then get dropped well before they ripen

  57. noah says:

Is Henry and Barry for Austin and Hogan a good trade?.

  58. SCWars94 says:

Hey guys not sure what to do atm:

Laird, Yeo, Simpson, McGovern, Crisp, Duman (Murphy, Keefe)

MaCrae, Fyfe, Dangerfield, Cripps, Merrett, Crouch, Mitchell, Holman ( Spargo, Barry, Phillips)

    Gawn, Nankervis

Heeney, McLean, Westhoff, Sicily, Billings, Fritsch (Guelfi, Smith)

    14 trades and 179k

    • SC_Sixty6 says:

Looks like you may need to triple down or at least dbl down to generate the war chest into half a million ready for next week to inject premium quality into your side.

      • SCWars94 says:

Who would you downgrade and who would you bring in?

        • SC_Sixty6 says:

Judging by your side rd 13 is a walk in the park for you so I'd downgrade billings and duman to playing rookies or just downgrade duman to heron and upgrade billings to a rd 13 premo.

You're pretty light in defence this week. Could even trade billings. Swing Sicily up fwd and get premo back and heron in.

Edit… Sicily already fwd. Just get some backs in.

          • SCWars94 says:

I am thinking Murphy to Heron and Billings to JJk for next week. Leaves me with 205k and 15 playing this week. In all honesty I am not even bothering this week haha just to much carnage

  59. Daniel says:

Who should i trade out for gray this week out of mirra and billings?

  60. Whitey says:

I think my plan for the rest of the year is to be out of trades in 5 weeks, have a mint looking side and then watch everyone get injured. What a year it has been. Still love SC though.

  61. HoffGolas says:

Hoff or Menegola to average higher for the remainder of the year?

    • Jack says:

Close, probably depends how many games Ryder misses. Menegola will also benefit from any Geelong mids missing

  62. Jesse says:

    I have 540k & 16 trades.
My team is as follows. Would love any advice!

Def: laird, Hurley, Sicily Webster hibberd rice (naughton murphy)

Mid: danger dusty mitchell Fyfe oliver cogs westhoff Holman (Phillips spargo brayshaw)

    Ruck: Gawn & nicnat (olango)

Fwd: heeney McLean D.smith fritsch ronke guelfi (T.smith Henry)

Fwd line is light but will swing hoff fwd when the times right & grab two premo mids… feel like I am sittting okay with cash and trades. Everyone put ya two bob in please.

    • Jack says:

Nice looking team. I counted 20 for this week which is very solid. After this week I'd go Murphy to Yeo, Guelfi to Kennedy and maybe target Macrae when he comes down a bit

  63. Murray says:

    Horan or Walters ?

  64. Murray says:

    Hogan or Walters?

  65. BadgerHoney7 says:

well… dusty, laird, billings, smith, fyfe. all 5 of them i expected to play

  66. tommy the dees man says:

up the dees, tom mcdonald for brownlow

  67. SCrhino says:

bringing in walters or menengola this week to cover for this round… walters is a bit injury prone but cheaper.
who should i bring in to my side considering i will be good for rnd 14 bye?

  68. ATLfan says:

I need a premo defender or forward that’s less than 491k and is playing this round.

Any suggestions? Was thinking Franklin (injury risk but proven), Hurley (High BE and will be cheaper round 14 or 15) or Boak (Good for byes but lower average)

    What do people think?

    • joe says:

Boak has already had his bye and had been boringly consistently in the 90s, until last week. Plus he is DPP, which could come in handy later in the year. Picking Buddy might create headaches in round 14, and he will still be available for around the same price after his bye.

    • Jack says:

Buddy for me. Hurley's only been a premuims for 1 year, Boak averages have been declining (85 last year) but Buddy hasn't gone under 90 for years. Also, he is a cheeky VC option when playing early

    • Hawks says:

      Franklin

    • prizza says:

      boak

  69. Josh says:

    IN
    Mihocek ($102,400)
    Olango ($102,400)
    Austin ($159,700)
    OUT
    English ($287,400)
    Cole ($279,100)
    Murphy ($208,000)

leaves me with 450k to get two premos and JJk next week

    • Ja191 says:

i'd grab jones (ruc) instead of olango if he is selected this week especially if you have gawn or grundy

  70. Ben says:

Boys Smith is expected to come back yea

  71. John says:

Anyone got any thoughts on Apeness's JS?

  72. aaron says:

    thoughts on :

out: ed Richards and Charlie curnow
    in: heron and menagola

was sitting comfortable this round with 20+ players, now have 14/15.. other rounds are looking a bit better..
was hoping to keep richards through the byes but can't afford to this round, and curnow isn't delivering as much as I was hoping for in a poor carlton outfit

    • Steeeve says:

Wait on Curnow and trade out a rookie who's not playing this week

      • aaron says:

richards is my only non-playing rookie, the others Keefe (provides swing for Sicily), McInerney (not advantageous trading out at this stage as only ruck position), t smith (not enough cash generation)

might be a good time to cull an underperforming player who realistically probably won't be a keeper at the end. im looking at curnow, Nic nat, coniglio or dusty..
im probably going to trade Nic nat after grundys bye at some stage, and I think dusty will come good at the back end of the season, and coniglio, well he is averaging pretty good this season so I think he can stay for bit

    • prizza says:

move curnow on, great player but not sc relevant just yet , swing in boak or something similar,

      • aaron says:

fwd line currently: Heeney, gray, Boak, Sicily, Devon smith, curnow fritsch and Tim smith
        this week curnow to menegola
        next week fritsch to mcclean
        thoughts?

  73. Shake_n_Bake says:

Is there a risk of Laird being out till after his bye???

    • DavidC says:

They thought he would be a chance for this week so he should be back but who knows?

  74. Claire says:

Is trading Dusty to J. Kelly a sideways trade?
It gives me 18 on the field this week and suits my round 14 round bye.

    • SC_Sixty6 says:

It's a sideways trade but dusty underperforming and may not be back til rd 15. So why not.

      • Claire says:

Thanks. That gives me some confidence.
I’m thinking of going Danger into J. Kelly against GCS (Timing will be tight) or Heeney against the Saints.
        Any advice appreciated.

        • Jack says:

Danger into Kelly looks pretty good for this week. Not sure about others but I'd take about a 115 from a VC this week

  75. Sauso says:

it was mentioned that Gray has a poor record against the Tigers. Who has tagged him in the past. I am thinking of VCing him into Danger. I usually go to Gawn or Grundy but they may nullify each other to 110.
It is the worst SC week for VC/C IMO.
Good luck because we will need it.

    • Jack says:

Do you have Danger? I think he is a solid VC this week assuming Jacobs goes to Selwood

      • Sauso says:

Yes. Read my post closer! Already VC or C Danger. Who tags Gray. That’s the question!

        • Swans2012 says:

I think the danger with gray is the forward minutes rather than the tag….I wouldn't risk it, I'm buddy into gawn, I can't see gawn scoring under 110 which is a nice fallback imo

  76. Steve says:

    Who to get for Billings?

    Can get any Forward?

Already have Heeney, Walters and Mclean

  77. Jack says:

Heron vs Mihocek, who do we like?
It would be for d8 with rice @d7 if that makes a difference

    • seen_burns says:

Mihocek probably gets dropped Rd14. Not sure about Herons JS

    • Doc_1 says:

      I would take heron.
If you’re looking at D8 it doesn’t really matter if they don’t play – can’t see either playing enough to make enough cash to warrant a trade.
Gold Coast generally play later on the round for the rest of the season so Heron can possibly used as a loop option (or even D6 with rice in case of emergency).

  78. Steve says:

Is Robbie Gray a must have forward?

    • Ja191 says:

if he plays mid yes if he plays forward he will be prob still be f6 but will be inconsistent

    • seen_burns says:

Not worth getting this week imo, BE 151 and don't think he'll score to well against the Tigers.

    • prizza says:

      canoath

  79. Josh says:

Currently have 15 players out for the so called "easy" bye round and I'm very stuck with what trades to do
    I have 109 K in the bank
    Outs:
    Def: Laird, Yeo, Richards, Keeffe
Mid: Fyfe, Cripps, Titch, Coniglio, Barry
    Ruck: Nic Nat, Olango
    Fwd: Sicily, McLean, Billings, T.Smith

If I want to field a full 18 I would need to trade out 3 of these players but apart from Billings I'm struggling to justify trading any of them

The rest of the team is:
    Def: Webster, Hurley, Savage, Hibberd
Mid: Parker, Merrett, Walters, Holman, Brayshaw, Phillips
    Ruck: Gawn
    Fwd: Heeney, Higgins, Guelfi, Spargo

    • prizza says:

Start with arseholing billings and barry ,, followed by keeffe who is doing nothing for you, the inn comment around here is warm bodies so maybe try , go early on ahern-dpp , boak dpp, or gray, and maybe someone like heron , two have had byes and the kid from north looks a likely type. f… the byes good luck.

  80. Defying_Madness says:

Hey community not sure what to do this week, selections really hurt me

DEF: Laird, Simpson, Yeo, Sicily, Ryan, Ridley (Murphy, Keefe)

I have 68,100 in the bank and 12 trades

    Cheers

  81. Stupid Coach says:

Great work Damo. Another great cheat sheet. I have 22 on the field playing this week. I am thinking of not trading this week and saving them for next week when I am likely to have only 17 or 18 on the field. Would appreciate any advice on whether this is the right strategy as I have 14 trades and $169k in the bank. Team is:

B: Laird, Ryan, Hurley, Savage, Doedee, Dunman, Yeo, Keefe
M: Danger, Heeney, Parker, Martin, Cogs, Holman, Spargo, Phillips, Barry, Titch, Cripps
    R: Gawn, Nank, Olongo
F: Buddy, Smith, Petracca, Henry, Guelfi, ZGL, Smith, Sicily.

Planning to trade Doedee and Henry next week. Appreciate any thoughts/advice.

    • prizza says:

      19 if your lucky

      • Stupid Coach says:

Thanks pizza. Just checked the final teams and with Laird out and Guelfi, Dunman and Spargo playing it leaves me with 20. Should I still make a trade or leave it to next week as planned.

  82. prizza says:

Surely guelfi or murray play to give me 18 .
I pity the bye planners that thought they were sitting pretty.
Only certainty is collingwood to give the demons another packet of tissues

  83. Saundo says:

C on Franklin, Oliver or Gawn?
