Port Adelaide and Gold Coast have had their bye and so they are the focus of this week’s cheat sheet, because their players could be a good constant through the bye rounds, which we should all be focusing on now.

You only need 18 playing on your field, but the more the merrier because SuperCoach counts your 18 top scoring players. So having some cover is still good.

Port Adelaide have the more SuperCoach friendly side out of the two this year, so you won’t see any Gold Coast players in this week’s cheat sheet at least, but I can assure there are players who I think are worth looking into. Jack Martin is good for a score of 85-95 most games this season, and Aaron Hall plays well when he isn’t being tagged.

At the end of every other player’s little spiel, I have written their bye rounds, because I think it needs to be in the front of people’s minds, especially if you’re considering someone like Dustin Martin who has the round 14 bye, a bye which a lot of popular players share this year.

How’s your team going? Are you prepared for the upcoming byes? Have I grossly overlooked anyone?

In the meantime, see youΒ next ThursdayΒ for the next cheat sheet!

    My nipples could cut glass.

    Let's go GSW!!! πŸ€

  3. DavidSA says:

I like the look of Boak
I would say Dixon is a steal with Ports run home and easy prey but he has been awful this season

  4. MEK says:

Westhoff Gray or Boak which ones

  5. Defying_Madness says:

    F**k Mirra dropped again
Howe injured and Yeo has survived.
    Ridley named HF though???

  6. Marty says:

Howe has bone bruising. I dodged a bullet getting Yo Yo in last week instead.

    • Jack says:

I got hit by that bullet. I preferred Yeo, Hurley or Lloyd but was worried about the damn byes. Brayshaw would have been better too

  7. hedski says:

Jeez will have to play Murphy D6 if he makes the cut…(or reverse trades if he doesn't)

    • SC_Sixty6 says:

Doubt he'll be in. Will be same lineup as last week. He wasn't even the late in with seedsman late out!

    • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

      Just play 1 short Hedski??!!

    • theRealPod says:

Reverse those trades Hedski. On a brighter note, Wylie Buzza in, and Gaz to pump out a 300.

    • Marty says:

I would say Otten, O'Reilly and Murphy would be the three players dropped. It will be interesting to see. Prefer Murphy to be in for $$ generation.

    • Swans2012 says:

      Same boat hedski, frustrating…..

      • hedski says:

Extremely Swans, if I have to bring in a Ridley/Rice means I lose money on TK and will have to pay more for Walters.

  8. KSinny says:

Got Howe in last week, gets 58 then is out injured… nice

  9. Tyruddanaut says:

    TUM Smith or Dusty Martin?

  10. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Not sure about the Freo tip there Damo!

  11. Pauly says:

Currently have 15 trades and need to trade kelly, murray or fisher i dont want to make two trades so kelly is my trade i have 99k i can do a dpp swap to foward but im not sure who to bring in.

    Option 1: kelly to rocky
Option 2: kelly heeney dpp to midfield than Walters
Option 3: kelly heeney dpp to tim smith for cash

    • nankthetank says:

Depends how you cash flow is at the moment.
If you think you'll need some high earning rookies then tim smith is perfect for that, but if you're after a keeper I'd go rocky.
His ceiling is massive as proven last year and he's cheap as chips so it'd still be a downgrade from Kelly.
Don't get me wrong though for Walters' price you can't really go wrong, as long as he stays fit.

  12. Marty says:

5 out of 8 player on the bench are playing this week so I will take that. No defenders unless Murphy gets a gig. Might have to fix that next week. How is everyone going with their benches?

    • PJs says:

terrible , mirra , murphy , Higgins , UDL , barry , rata , spargo , garlett , luckily the on field boys r doing their job , byes r gna hurt

      • Marty says:

Can be tough PJ as you don't want to keep burning trades fixing rookies.

    • Derek says:

Awful. I have one. Spargo is my only benchman getting a game

    • The Ranger says:

      4 from 8

    • Big fact hunt says:

7out of 8 playing only Crossley out hope it stays like that for all the byes. Been lucky with rookies got all the right ones. Unfortunately got all the crap premiums

  13. Ken says:

I had Brodie from the start of the season (Held him) …hopefully plays

  14. TOPHAWK1 says:

FML. Howe out. If the prick does not return until after his bye (rnd 14) he is pretty much rendered useless. Out for three weeks. Does anybody know how bad his bone bruising is? Is it likely to be a one weeker or will he sit out out until after his bye? If it is the latter, I might have to bite the bullet and use a corrective trade. Howe straight to Hurley.

    • Sc_Wow says:

Cmon mate gotta hold those premiums, you’d still have rookie cover wouldn’t you?
I’ve had hurley out the last two week and had to hold not worth the trade.

      • TOPHAWK1 says:

I can live with 2 weeks, but 3 weeks is another story. Especially with the byes coming.

        • Sc_Wow says:

Just a heads up if you hold for this week and then trade to Hurley next, he will play one more then have his bye. So you’d only be trading for the sake of one week

    • SC_Sixty6 says:

Do I smell a RAGE TRADE? πŸ˜‚ lucky you've got soooooo many trades you deadset Jet TH!

      • Rick Grimes says:

Don't spoil the good behaviour lads. No need for snarky comments.

      • TOPHAWK1 says:

No rage trade pal. If he is back next week, he stays. If He misses he goes, as he will miss 3 then. Will monitor the situation in coming days. I'll take your compliment though!

        • SC_Sixty6 says:

He's going to miss rd 13 regardless so it makes no sense to trade as he's only out 2 weeks max. Hold! Otherwise it is a rage trade….

          • DavidSA says:

Dangerous to get caught up in sideways trading before the byes anyway.
Right now it's about bolstering the bench and fatten the bank

        • neil demons delight says:

Ideal opportunity to trade Mirra to Simpson

    • Marty says:

Can vary from days to months. They can take time but too hard to tell without more knowlege of the injury

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

      Two weeks.
      So make that 3.
Back rd 14 afyer his bye.

    • Da_Boysh says:

what is your rank? if you are top 300ish i would burn a trade for him otherwise no point. assume he is back after byes

  15. Jack says:

I don't know Howe its come to this?? Any chance Murray gets named?

    • Ja191 says:

Yeah he’ll replace howe most likely

      • Jack says:

Maynard is also in and has been named back pocket. Does that change your thinking?

    • JohnDJ59 says:

I traded Murray out for Howe last week

      • Russty_ says:

You shouldn't have gone hiking over that ancient Aboriginal burial ground John πŸ™‚

        • JohnDJ59 says:

HaHaHa, I really must have done something wrong Russty, although the Howe one is on me, shouldn't have changed my plans, just because of the byes.

          • Russty_ says:

The worst part is not knowing how long he's out for yet, I guess we'll know next week.

  16. Gav says:

Should I field Smith over Billings.

    • nankthetank says:

I've been tempted to field rookies instead of Petracca all season but can't bring myself to do so in case he goes big, and then I'm the dickhead who had a (once) premo on the bench.
It's logical to bench him but I could never bring myself to do it.

      • Swans2012 says:

Same boat nank, doing the same just waiting waiting

        • Sc_Wow says:

Not sure Petraca can be listed in the premo or even once category yet. Highest average of 78 and 6 tons in his career. Looks like another 78 season for him this year

          • Swans2012 says:

Your right wow, he was speculative, but not worth the trade to remove him, fwiw I reckon he'll average 85-90 from here and be excellent bench cover.
no reason this year with the good rookies we've had you can't have decent cover on all lines

            • Sc_Wow says:

Tbh I’d rather keep some of the good rookies for cover over him

              • Swans2012 says:

Dpp important for cover, he's got much better job security and scoring potential than any of the rookie dpp's

    • JohnDJ59 says:

Yes, plus why do you still have Billings.

    • DavidC says:

      Can you loop Smith?

  17. John says:

    What's Kerr's job security like?

  18. John says:

Have to choose between getting in smith Walters or one of (rice/ridley/austin)
If I don't get a defence rookie I'll have a 0 thanks to mirra getting dropped (unless Murphy somehow plays)

    What should I Do?

    • JohnDJ59 says:

I'm getting in Rice and Smith, would have liked Walters, but no cash after two upgrades last week, need the cash generation.

  19. Jack says:

    Walters or Brayshaw?

  20. DavidSA says:

    • neil demons delight says:

      see you next year WHY?

    • Russty_ says:

You allright Dave…a few too many West Ends tonight?

      • Jack says:

I think David's been on better stuff than that. Billings was a premium and Zac Dawson was playing again last time

  21. Daniel says:

Now that mirra is dropped is there any merit in upgrading him early to yeo, as if I don't I'll be copping a donut this week, or should i trade l.murphy to ridley or rice this week instead and grab yeo after his bye?

    • SC_Sixty6 says:

Get Yeo after his bye. Get whichever rookie helps you in the byes.

  22. Jono says:

Should I trade in Heron for Naughton this week?

I've already done 1 trade this week; Billings out and Walters in!! Leaves me with $417,200k in the bank with 16 trades left!! But could be 15 if I execute the trade listed above.

    My team is;
Defenders; Laird,Yeo,Hurley,Tuohy, Witherden and Coffield. (Naughton and Redman)

    Mids: Dangerfield,Dusty,Mitchell,Fyfe,Higgins,McLean,Phillips and Spargo. (Crowden,Barry,England)

Rucks: Gawn and Nic Nat (Cameron)

Forwards; M.Robinson,Buddy,Walters,D.Smith,Stephenson and Fritsch. (Rayner and Garlett)

  23. Jack says:

What's everyone rating higher this year forwards or backs? In other words where do you plan on having Sicily end up?

    • sam says:

very good question Jack, i started and still have him down back but am tossing it up atm.

For me it's whether i believe Webster will maintain his form, if he can then i think defenders are stronger and will push sicily forward.

      What are you leaning towards?

      • Jack says:

I'm 50/50 Sam. I was thinking forwards were better, then defenders, now I think there is good value in the forwards atm, now I'm not sure. Understand, you waiting to see if Webster's up to it or a flash in the pan, that might just split it

    • Ahmad rubas says:

more forwards averaging 100 compared to defenders would rather Sicily down back

  24. KSinny says:

Since Howe is out I'm thinking of going Kelly to Smith via DPP and Henry to Webster using Keefe DPP. This will allow me to cover Howe for however long he is out and when he's back I'll have a full premo Backline. This leaves me with 15 trades and $217k in the Bank.

DEF: Laird, Yeo, Sicily, Webster, Simpson, Howe (Ridley, Murphy)

  25. John says:

Who to field ronke home against Carlton or Tim smith against bulldogs

  26. WinnerRGrinners says:

    Walters Or Rockcliff ????????????

    what do you recon??

    • Maverick_ says:

depends on ya bye structure and team in general. i was all for rocky monday-tuesday btu starting to get cold feet but would still take him over walters. Bye's passed an has a huge ceiling if can find a tank. named R/R too.

    • Rocksta_ says:

    • Ahmad rubas says:

I'm going Rockliff mainly because I haven't planned for byes really well so rocky is much more use to me than walters

      • Rocksta_ says:

        Until he gets injured

        • Ahmad rubas says:

very likely to get injured but so is walters imo i guess i should pass on both but will probably still end up making the rocky move

    • theRealPod says:

  27. Jason says:

Well i’d Been eyeing off both rocky and beams and hoping keep it hush hush for a nice low POD %.. but now it’s on the cheat sheet whose the better option both priced at unders.

  28. anthdepa7 says:

DEF (J. Lloyd, Laird, Sciliy, Hurn, Savage, Doedee,) – Coffield, Mirra

MID (Macrae, Fyfe, Cripps, Mitchell, Parker, Coniglio, Martin , Spargo) – E.Phillips , Barry, Brayshaw

    RUCK (Gawn, Grundy) – Cameron

FWD (McLean, Heeney, D.Smith, Franklin, Fritsch, Henry,) – Guelfi, Langdon,

    $10,400 in the bank.

Currently ranked 6,410 coming off the back of a nice 2,465 couldn’t ask for much more. Have 17 trades left, open to all trades options pls much appreciated.

  29. Jonesy says:

    Can I have some help.
    18 traded & 550k banked

Def: Webster Hurley laird Sicily hibberd rice (murph naughton)

Mid: danger Titch dusty Oliver cognilio kelly Holman (phillips brayshaw spargo)

    Ruck: Gawn NicNat

Fwd: heeney McLean Smith Fritsch Ronke Henry (ZGL Guelfi)

Huge bank but very rookie heavy. What do i do?
Double upgrade or paint the fence to get smith

    • SC_Sixty6 says:

Kelly into a premo mid and Henry into a fwd premo. Bye friendly inclusions.

      • Jonesy says:

        And pass on smith?
Maybe westhoff & boak/Robinson (midfield) swing forward later date

        • Liam says:

          Kelly > westhoff

          Henry > boak

After round 12 trade ZGL/guelfi to Cripps by swinging westhoff fwd.

          Brilliant? Thumbs up πŸ‘πŸΌ

          • theRealPod says:

I like it without the Boak move.

            • Liam says:

Henry to who then?? Maybe He could swing Sicily forward an grab a yeo or Simpson down back? But may as well wait Post Rd 12 bye maybe

              • Jonesy says:

I don’t mind Liam’s first suggestion at all. But maybe instead of boak go gray. Port players are gold now

              • theRealPod says:

What's wrong with Henry? If he has to go trade him for Smith the bubble boy

    • Maverick_ says:

Looking at ya side you have enough cash generation and fat cows on the horizon to double upgrade this week and pass on T.Smith.
Kelly definately upgrade and either Henry/ZGL as the other.. I dont mind the westhoff pick but i think there maybe better options for the midfield! try grab a Cripps a certain top 8-10 mid or treloar/beams as a POD. in saying that the DPP from boak an his bye passed could be huge for they byes.

  30. Marty says:

Coffield isn't named this week. You need to keep painting the fence. Naughton to Sicily?

    • Ahmad rubas says:

Any chance of coffield coming back in the side? When I saw he was managed assumed he would be back in this week

  31. FearTheBeard says:

    Yeo or Webster?

Murray, Mirra, Murphy all farked me so gonna cut Murray now.

  32. L G says:

How much will Rock go up by ? i'm thinking double down grade…

    • Browncow says:

About 30k if he plays similar to the last two weeks L G. Smith goes up 50k just by stepping on to the field.

  33. Rocksta_ says:

This new found Serenity in the Community is amazing!
Is it the calm before the storm?

  34. cashcows says:

Lloyd, Yeo, Laird, Hurley, Sicily, Simpson – Duman, Murphy
Fyfe, Danger, Cripps, Mitchell, Martin, Parker, J.Higgins Spargo – Fogarty, Barry, Phillips
    Gawn, Martin
Gray, Mclean, Heeney, D.Smith, Fritsch, T.Smith- ZGL, Keeffe
    16 trades, 307k

Already went Brayshaw -> T.Smith via DPP, hence the 300k bank
Higgins at 66BE, could go to Gaff as my R14 bye is very lopsided.
No brainer? Or is there a different combo of cashcows to cull?

    • Maverick_ says:

I know Barry hasn't made much cash but you need warm bodies for the bye's i'd trade him before brayshaw no way barry returns anytime soon meaning donuts and no cash & u have till Rd14 to cull Brayshaw… just my 2 cents mate

  35. sam says:

is it worth fielding a zero down back to get Walters and T.Smith in other lines

or should i trade a defender?

    • theRealPod says:

Walters isn't a must have imo. Smith juicy and will make you cash

    • Blakey says:

im geting those two as well

      Kelly ($401,700) –> Walters ($419,700)
      Barry ($182,400) –> Smith ($123,900)

i had a zero the week before last in order to get a premo in defence

as long as you arent top 10% you should be fine

  36. Dale says:

A lot of talk early in the week of rocky.. everyone gone cold now why?
Bye friendly and Cheap as chips.
I gamble worth taking I think.
Westhoff & rocky in for me tonight.

  37. Blakey says:

    Kelly ($401,700) –> Walters ($419,700)
    Barry ($182,400) –> Smith ($123,900)

ready to go 1 up 2 down next week and 3 premos the week after (thoughts)

  38. Russty_ says:

Playing Pieman, Derek twice, Tophawks and Neil this week, gonna need a bit of luck with Howe out….spewing Naughton didn't get up, listed as a test but not even named at all.

    • Maverick_ says:

Didn't think they'd rush him back before his bye russty. expect to see him in Rd 13.
This week off gave him 2 weeks to make sure his cherry ripe.

    • Sc_Wow says:

Think you should have most of them covered ruusty

      • Russty_ says:

Not sure Wow, prediction isn't too high and have to play Duman onfield..can loop Smith and Spargo though.

    • Derek says:

Twice! We might split it and win one each.

    • neil demons delight says:

Don't take any notice of wow Russty I am going to give you a run mate

    • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Glad Naughton wasn’t named this week Russty. He cant bleed cash not playing. Fits in what im hoping to do with trades.

  39. KSinny says:

I have 1 more spot left in my defense and can afford anyone. Who do I get?

DEF is currently Laird, Yeo, Sicily, Simpson, Howe, Ridley (Murray, Keefe) will be trading Henry and swinging Keefe forward to get this defender.

    • nankthetank says:

Hurley is the bets bet but with a high BE and the round 13 bye you might want to wait. Savage is a cheaper option if you're feeling brave and want a POD

      • Maverick_ says:

I agree on hurley. or Ryan as a nice POD. depending on ya bye structure

  40. TommyC99 says:

    Which one please community?
Rocky – shown he can score well but injuries an issue. Ideal during the byes
JJK – poor run of form but cheap as chips and playing a poor saints at home. I smell a large one
Walters – know what he can do scoring wise but the bye injuries an issue.

    • Maverick_ says:

      I like Rocky & JJK.
Rd14 bye puts me off walters.
if you have the trades for if it all goes wrong get rocky i love his ceiling and the bye cover.

      • TommyC99 says:

Cheers mate. I currently have 16 trades left and will be doing 2 this week

    • Logo says:

What about Hoffman or is he too expensive?

    • The Ranger says:

Flip a coin Tommy, I could talk myself in and out of all of those trades.

  41. anthdepa7 says:

Gray or Hoff? Gray has a be of 137 should drop 15k need your guys opinion, ill be trading one in for Fritsch round 12

    • Sam says:

Id go gray depending on how he goes this week

Hoff just doesn't seem as reliable to me

  42. Noah says:

T Smith or Henry on field

  43. Rocksta_ says:

This may be my undoing, but I simply cannot allow myself to bring Rocky into my team at M8.
    Yes, he’s great bye coverage
Yes, he has a high ceiling at his best
    Yes, he is injury prone
Yes, he has a high Standard Deviation

Unless you are flush with trades, steer clear I reckon!

    • Rick Grimes says:

I recall a similar week couple years back. Lot of talk about Rocky. Knocked out near 200 from memory. Not saying he'll do that to us again, but he's the type of bloke who will. I'm still tempted.

      • Rocksta_ says:

Agreed RG, but I’m saying No at this stage.

      • Dale says:

Would love to know what he avgd after that 200 rick. Probably injured the next game?
        Still tempting me though too

        • Russty_ says:

He got his 204 in round 11 2016, and was averaging 97 then, then he got 9 more tons for the rest of the year, ended up averaging 111.

    • Daniel Z says:

It's pretty similar to Scott Selwood last year, had a couple monster games and everyone jumped on (right around the byes as well). Ended up getting hurt, didn't play over the byes and cost an extra trade. Not saying that'll happen now but it is a bit of a cautionary tale for those that don't have a few extra trades at this stage.

    • The Ranger says:

      I'm staying away too Rocksta.
Great trade if it comes off but just too risky for me this year, I've had to burn a lot of trades already so can't afford any injury risks.
I wanna see him play ten in a row and not break.

  44. Plugger says:

Why all the hype of this smith bloke.
I don’t really wanna got him in but don’t wanna miss the boat!

Option 1 : kelly to rocky & ZGL to hoff

Option 2 : kelly to hoff (swing forward rd13) & ZGL to smith

    Tim kelly not josh thanks

  45. Sesh Lord says:

Do people think that Webster will average around 100 for the rest of the year?

  46. Will says:

Who will average more: Walters, Buddy or Gray

  47. G.C. says:

Got a bit of a conundrum community, would love your input. As it stands:

    $93k in the bank
    18 trades left
    Rank 7644

    Do I take
    A) Trade Dom Barry to Tim Smith (via Spargo DPP) getting $152k in the bank ready for the byes
    B) Trade Andrew Brayshaw to Tim Smith (via Spargo DPP), then upgrade ZGL to Walters, leaving just $58k in the bank for the byes

Getting rid of dead weight and more money is nice, but how important is it to get Walters in this week, especially with Sandi out?

    • Gus says:

Go A. Keep warm bodies and get cash generating. Walters is a pass not a must in my opinion

  48. AuroraBorealis?! says:

I'm bringing in Treloar this week, i got burnt so badly last year. PLEASE DONT HURT ME AGAIN ADAM

    • Dale says:

Burnt me last year I’d rather risk it on rocky at 200k cheaper.

    • Russty_ says:

Hey mate, Treloar's going alright this year, very solid, no worries with him I reckon.

      • Rocksta_ says:

Agreed Russty. His DE has improved significantly. He’s always been able to find the Footy so solid selection this year.

        • AuroraBorealis?! says:

Yeah thats why i'm bringing him in, had a look at all his games on fanfooty and his DE has been up around 70+ for most rounds

      • TOPHAWK1 says:

I am seriously considering going T Kelly to Tom Rockliff and going early on Jacob Heron this week. Gives me loads of bye cover, Howe cover, cash (cow) cover, donut cover, and 15 trades and $370 K in the sky rocket.

    • Finnius says:

averaged 111 in 2016. Great pick, especially now that the pies arent shit.

      • AuroraBorealis?! says:

The pies are still a bit shit, but better than last year, which is encouraging as a supporter.

    • Jack says:

Last year is last year don't let that stop you. Having said that though I don't think he is a must have. Have you considered Gaff instead?

      • AuroraBorealis?! says:

I have considered him Jack, he's ultra consistent but i just dont feel like his ceiling is there. Both him and Treloar are pods but if i pick the one that pulls out 130+ every week it'll really help my ranking.

    • prizza says:

Great choice, he is much more direct this year like the whole side, when breaking the lines he is a jet

  49. Instube APK says:

very interesting post, Thanks for sharing such useful information here, I must visit your site for more in the future.

    • Dale says:

Welcome instube to the best SC forum on the net.

    • Russty_ says:

Ok…we'll see you then I guess, thanks for posting this in 8 different threads on the whole first page by the way…I might've missed it otherwise.
      What your spambot objective here?

      • Steeeve says:

He sells us Instube APK, and let me tell you it has changed my life

        • Russty_ says:

Oh right, cheers Steve…not sure if I need one of those or not?

  50. Corey says:

    Tim Kelly to Walters
    Garlett To T.Smith
    Tim Kelly to Rockliff
    Garlett To Walters

  51. Stupid Coach says:

I am down to 16 trades and 120k in the bank. At this stage, thinking T Kelly to Heeney only. However, tempted to trade Gowers to T Smith or is that a wasted trade at this stage of the season. Any advice/thoughts much appreciated.

    • Russty_ says:

I'd get rid of Gowers, he's done making money and usually scores in the 40's, not a big loss there, Smith could be a big gain though with dosh and points.

    • Sandyf62 says:

Not a wasted trade if you are gaining points and cash.

    • Jack says:

Gowers to Smith will potentially be the best trade you'll make for the year. Go for it

  52. Lachy says:

So this week I’m gettin in two of: rocky gray westhoff & boak. 1 fwd 1 mid. Happy to get hoff or gray in the guts will swing them fwd after byes! They have a cruisey draw on the run home.

  53. Noah says:

    Walters or mclean this week?

    • Daniel Z says:

McLean has the bye next week, so would make more sense to get him after that. Plus, Walters has a much lower breakeven, so will be more expensive to get in later.

  54. John says:

$91k and 15 trades left after using 1 already. Is it worth getting Ridley if my backline has Doedee Cole and Murphy as my rookies?

  55. Defying_Madness says:

Now that I think about it it might be time to trade out Mirra even with his insanely low be. He won't play over the next 2 weeks and Birchall should be back soon making it harder for him to find a spot.
    Thoughts community?

    • Marcus says:

If you're short for either this week or next week I'd trade.
If you can afford to have him sit on pine, could be worth holding. Would have to imagine he'd be a chance round 13/14 where he would be great cover . If not named then just punt him before round 13

    • Derek says:

birchell is still a fair way off.

Mirra has a poor game last week, was undersized.

Has been replaced this week by Howe, a midfielder.

Not a good sign for Mirra. Might struggle to get back in team.

    • Sc_Wow says:

Can always hold and see if heron is named next week

  56. MacGurty says:

Damo, you certainly have given the Hoff a big tick and now you have me pondering. I was thinking Buddy because he is much cheaper and is a star but has the round 14 bye. Walters also cheap. I have not considered the Hoff until now. Apart from Damo, what do others think?

  57. Joe T says:

Mirra out has messed up my trade plans!

I'm going to get Walters in, but is it worth getting Tim Smith and fielding a 0, or Bailey Rice to cover for Mirra (and miss out on Smith all together)?

    • Finnius says:

I'd get both rice and smith this week and then walters the next. Smith is looking like an incredible rookie this year and you need him, and the doughnut will cost you more points than getting walters will gain you.

      • Joe T says:

Yeah that would be ideal but I'm also giving Rocky another week, so getting both of them next week will cost me 50k extra minimum. Which is why I was going Walters this week and Rocky the next

  58. RonkeyDonkey says:

Forward line is currently: Ronke, Ronke, Ronke, Ronke, Ronke, Ronke (Ronke, Ronke)

Is it worth trading out one of my 8 bench Ronke's for Smith so that I can upgrade one my other Ronke's to "Buddy Ronke"?

For those of you who don't know "Buddy Ronke" is McAvaney's Frankenstein combination of Buddy Franklin and Ben Ronke, who is now available for the next 3 weeks as a limited edition supreme Supercoach player (you get both scores combined).

  59. Trades says:

    Naughton to Yeo
    Kelly to Smith via Taranto
Don't like any defence rookie on field and would rather have Fritsch and Smith on field.

  60. Rick Grimes says:

    Rocky's last two scores v Hawks are 146 and 147. Just saying…

  61. Sc_Wow says:

Remember when we had players copping the vest? Those were the days

    • DavidSA says:

Too many bloody rule changes Wow
Geelong built a team pretty much for ruck dominance with 3rd man up until the AFL put a stop to that.
2 players in the history of footy have had severe injuries from sliding into the legs so they change the rule and aduticate that as any form of sliding into a player even if the ball is won well before the contact!
the vest was for covering/reducing injuries and to help keep the games fast at the back end.

I hate it when the AFL tries to find a solution to minimise injuries. They have forgotten what the brand is lol "contact sport"

  62. TOPHAWK1 says:

So fortunate to have grabbed Timothy Smith one week early last week. Now with Howe and Mirra out and most likely Lachy Murphy as well, I can trade in in Bailey Rice for Murphy if he does not make the cut. Because I already have T Smith I can still execute my major play this week. T Kelly – OUT and Tom Rockliff- IN. I reckon many coaches will have to abandon Rocky now (At least this week) because they are busy trying to get in T Smith and fixing holes in their back lines. Still 15 juicy trades going into the byes. (Planning to use 4-5 during the byes to complete my side, and then 10-11 for the run home.

    • Lachy says:

It’s either smith or rocky for me this week! Unsure if smith is a must i feel my cash generation is ticking along okay. Well done for going the week early.
It’d have to be ZGL that makes way. Henry fritsch guelfi And ronke all have extremely low BEs. Hmmmmm

    • Florence Maxwell says:

Rockliff sucks enjoy your 70odd this week or next.

      • DavidSA says:

i see a lot of people missing the point on Rockliff lol

The best thing is an extra player over the triple bye period
You only get the best 18 scores
If Hawk has 20 players and Rockliff scores high that's great but if it like sub 70 then it will probably not even register anyway!

Hawk also has trades up his sleeve so when Rockliff's price goes back up near or over 500k he will make the decision to keep or not.

I believe Rockliff will go 80-100 twice and over 110 twice over the next month.
Port have some simple games coming

        • Swans2012 says:

Agree 100% David, he looks a low risk short term play to me

          • Sc_Wow says:

Still a risk. I think if you have plenty of rookie cover there isn’t much point and I’d go for legit premos over him. I don’t see rocky pushing you up the rankings all that much

            • DiannaP says:

Wow. I have Kelly who I think will be ok until his bye when I intend to trade him to my last mid premium. However I am tempted to get Rocky in for him now. Although I am merely playing for leagues, I am also conscious of the dreaded, for me, round 14 bye. Not sure what to do.

              • Sc_Wow says:

You will lose cash on Kelly from this point fwd. If possible I’d still recommend getting in a premo now over rocky

                • DiannaP says:

What about Beams then. Round 13 bye ok for me. But will he be tagged by Ben Jacobs tomorrow? SC can be stressful sometimes. Maybe stick to plan 234 and wait until Kelly’s bye and hope he comes good and doesn’t lose too much money.

                  • DiannaP says:

Me again. I have decided (I think) to trade out T. Kelly and Dow for T. Smith and Cripps leaving me with $14K. Could go Gaff leaving me with an additional $50K. Both suit me very well with the round 12 bye. So Wow, you seem to know what you are doing, you have talked me into a premium. Thanks!
#Pleased that you are more pleasant and helpful these days like Derek, Pie, Neil, Russty Hawk etc. We newcomers appreciste your experience.

  63. DavidSA says:

    Got 14 trades left.
Did my double downgrade even b4 knowing Howe is hurt.
No matter I can loop Rice with Duman.

So does not hurt my plans but only 80 potential pts over 2 weeks

  64. KC6 says:

Is Webster the real deal or better to go with the safer option in Simpson?

    • DavidSA says:

      I say yes
Is he worth the spend? I would say no
He won't avg 108 for the rest of the year
      More like 95-100 at best
      Round 14 bye
Wait and see his next 3 games I reckon

      • Sc_Wow says:

He might need to defend the next two weeks maybe he drops in price

  65. Westy says:

    Out T Kelly, Barry
    In Rockliff, T Smith

  66. Steeeve says:

B Rice named across halfback, J Ridley named at centre-half forward. Importantly, Ridley survives Hurley's return. Both are playing top teams this week so I won't expect massive scores.
But with Ridley having the better bye I wonder if he might now be the one to choose?

    • DavidSA says:

      Depends on your bye structure

      • Steeeve says:

I'd say for every person alive Ridley is better for bye structure. Rice supposedly has better JS (and a better second-week score to stay in his rolling average).

    • Sc_Wow says:

Ridley will be in the back line bagley will switch to the fwd line

      • Steeeve says:

That might be a good thing for him to be in defence this week. Will be a lot more of the ball there than up forward.

  67. FearTheBeard says:

    Yeo or Webster?

It's really doing my head in.

I have Laird, Simpson, Sicily, Savage so either way with byes they will see me have 3 out when it comes.

Who is best bet for this week (playing my father so a win is a MUST)

    • Jack says:

      Yeo is safer

    • FearTheBeard says:

Whom do we think will go larger this week.

      Webster or Yeo.

      Playing each other lol.

      • FearTheBeard says:

Sorry again, playing my father so must beat him. lol.

        Yeo/Webster for higher this week?

        • Pod says:

Yeo will go large playing at optus stadium infront of a home crowed and the points will be skewed in favour of all eagles players so load up on them. Since saints arnt going to win this (U would hope not)

  68. r_calve says:

both similar price but webster better average, more consistent and lower breakeven so go with him

  69. MEK says:

Which two are better package Westoff Boak or Westhoff Gray or Boak Gray

  70. Jack says:

    Brayshaw +100k or Hurley?
The plan was to bring in Hurley after his bye but I'm getting cold feet on Brayshaw.

  71. Johnny says:

I’m passin on smith. Double up grades to the hoff & gray/boak. I hope I don’t regret this! :/

    • Steeeve says:

Bold move! Smith will net you 100k within two weeks.

      • Johnny says:

Don’t say that your makin me doubt myself now. Definitely the toughest week of the year!

  72. BadgerHoney7 says:

guys need help, was sold on andrew gaff early in the week, but now seriously considering rocky, who do I go with????

    • FearTheBeard says:

      I'd take Gaff personally!

      • BadgerHoney7 says:

don't want to miss out on rocky tho, he could go huge

        • FearTheBeard says:

He could. He could also get nothing special or worse….

          • Maverick_ says:

He could explode Badge, yet quiet possible he could flop.
Im in the same boat tossing up between E,Curnow, Cripps, Treloar & even Beams.
But got a little voice in my head calling out rocky. Just don't know i can trust him it's only his bye i like
If you want to bank points where you know what you will get week in week out go gaff, he will score his 100.

        • Derek says:

Hawks have recalled Howe this week. He will keep Rocky Quiet.

          • BadgerHoney7 says:

gotta feeling hawks won't tag a bloke that hasn't played well all season when their is blokes like robbie gray, ollie wines, boak etc

  73. FearTheBeard says:

Community if I can get two questions answered. If any of you have ever enjoyed a rivalry with your Dad give me two seconds please!

I play my Dad this week and he talks mass trash!

So Yeo or Webster to go larger this week?

Second who to field out of Phillips, Holman or Spargo for my M8 this week?

    Thanks guys!

  74. MEK says:

Which two are better package Westoff Boak or Westhoff Gray or Boak Gray

  75. Maverick_ says:

I know this is a gamble but i really love the look of dayne beams. has already pumped out a couple 130+ and only 492k.
should i be considering now his handed over the C? we know from previous seasons he's a jet with an extremely friendly run home…

    • FFC says:

i'm tempted too…but trying to sort out bye structures and premiums but there might be a m8 position for him once Brisbane bye is done

      • Maverick_ says:

won't be the value there unfortunately. once he hits 550k+ there is probably value elsewhere. it nearly has to be this week BE 46. tough decision. with zorko unable to handle a tag you can nearly guarantee he will get the attention over beams to which i like!

        • Rick Grimes says:

I hadn't considered him but looks another top option. As you say, Zorko getting the tag now each week and no captaincy pressure. It's just the body that worries me. But he's no worse bet than Walters or Rocky on that front.

    • DavidC says:

Might start getting tagged now that Zorko is learning how to play through one.

  76. Pod says:

The main stat about rocky the last to weeks is his had 9 and 7 tackles in those to games now looking at last years stats he had on got 9 tackles once after rnd 12 and during this time he layed a maximum of only 4 tackles per game up until rnd 8 this year so the shoulder is starting to not worry him.

  77. Scoops_McYoung says:

This Rocky business is driving me nuts. Which is the better option?

1.Higgins out for T Smith leaving $180k in the bank and 12 Trades.
    2. Higgins for smith AND Guelfi for Rocky (via DPP), $50k and 11 trades.

    With Rocky, team would be:

Def: Laird, Lloyd, Sicily, Hurn, Doedee, Cole (Ridley, Keefe)
Mid: Fyfe, Danger, Mitchell, Cripps, Parker, Coniglio, Dusty, Rockliff (Coffield, Barry, Spargo)
    Ruck: Gawn, Nank (Olango)
Fwd: Heeney, McLean, Buddy, Menegola, Smith, Walters (TSmith, Fritsch)

I feel if rocky fails, it may cost me 2 trades but I'm only 2 (3 if you don't count Doedee as a D8) away from full premo.. Plus if he fires, he could make $200k, which is the same as a rookie downgrade.

Help, anyone? Anything? I'm tearing hair out!!

    • Pod says:

I like option 2 as rocky provides u with bye cover and u are only 2 away from full premo

  78. KSinny says:

Lloyd, Webster, Hurley, Ryan, Hurn, Jonas or Savage as D6? Already have Laird, Yeo, Sicily, Simmo and Howe.

  79. TheGreatBozza says:

Passing on Rocky & a cheap Heeney this week thanks to some backline carnage.

Best DEF trade in this week? Current lineup below:

Laird, Savage, Howe, Sicily, Doedee, Finlayson (Richards, Murphy)

I'm leaning to Simpson to help my bye structure (overloaded in R14) however Brayshaw/Yeo/Hurley are tempting too.

    • Beezneez says:

      Simpson in round 13.

      • Daniel Z says:

The question was for this week. Based on what you said about your bye structure, go with Yeo or Simpson. With Simpson being 40k cheaper, I'd probably go him but you'd think you'll need both before the year is up.

  80. Trades says:

Fritsch, Guelfi or Langdon for Smith?
I'm thinking Fritsch as BE 57 and won't have much more to make. Langdon named wing and Guelfi lower be.

    • Keenbutclueless says:

I reckon Langdon. Fritsch is 47 break even and is projected to make 27k before the byes. Langdon is projected to make 6k. Fritsch is playing well and had upside.

    • Daniel Z says:

Assuming whoever you don't trade will be on field, keep Fritsch. 3-round average is around 90, compared to 50s (Langdon) and Guelfi. (60s). Guelfi should still make $ and Langdon won't.

  81. Baz says:

Who should I play out of Sam Murray, Tom Cole or Ed Richards?

    • Keenbutclueless says:

Don’t think Murray has been picked, which gives you a chance to loop the other two.

  82. Spudda says:

    Re the E loophole.
Can I put Keffee on the field and make Guelfi my E. If Guelfi performs poorly against the Tigers, I swap Keffee with ZGL. Correct?

  83. Pod says:

  84. Arnie says:

    Cripps or Gaff

  85. Jordan says:

Thoughts on ed curnow? He’s averaging 115

  86. prizza says:

Murray left as emergency ,, murphy named on bench, murray cant lose money and murphy will make it happy days

  87. Steeeve says:

    Murphy is.
Do I pass on Rice/Ridley to bring in Walters… hmmm

    • sam says:

im tossing up the exact same thing, im thinking of taking Walters, other rookies will come, but premo's at this price won't (atleast not anytime soon)

  88. Tyruddanaut says:

    Tim Smith or Dusty??????????????

  89. Damage says:

anyone else held Liam Ryan this whole time? Two weeks away apparently
