PODCAST: WE NEED MORE TRADES

There are too many options this week. Too. Many. Options.

We’ve got blokes coming off their bye – your Tommy Rockliffs, your Justin Westhoffs, your Robbie Grays. We’ve got blokes we need to fix up our bye structures in round 12 – your Kade Simpsons, your Toby McLeans. We’ve got the cheapies – your Michael Walters, Dustin Martins, Angus Brayshaws. We’ve got the essential rookies – your Tim Smiths, your Bailey Rices, your Jordan Ripleys.

WE NEED MORE TRADES.

We just can’t do it all this week.

So, Lekdog and Patch try and figure out what to do. They try to prioritise, they try to figure it out, they get down and dirty to throw some mud around and sees what sticks.

Chuck in some earbuds, crack open a beverage of choice and get ready for the chaos that is round 11.

1. Connor says:

Unrelated to SuperCoach but is it just me or did Darcy Gardiner just get away with blue murder??? IMO he managed to punch Hayward in the head twice in the scuffle in the last quarter – escaped with a $1500 fine…
Thoughts on the footage community!

• Bells says:

Should be a week. This system basically consists of 'What one bloke reckons.' It's a joke.

What is the go with T Smith at the Dees? Haven't seen him – but his scores look good. Is there someone back to take his spot or should I lock him in Community?
Thinking of OUT: Stephenson, ZMerret IN: Danger, T Smith

• Jack says:

I believe Smith has taken Weidermans spot Bells and you would think with Melbourne pushing for a top4 spot they would be looking at the best short term option, which is clearly Smith

• WTFoxtrot_58 says:

Saw that in a brief bit of footage about the game…waiting to hear more about it.
Your comment is the first mention of it anywhere.
The glimpse I got I was expecting it to be Mitch Robinson..

2. Tyruddanaut says:

I have looked so much at bringing in R12 byes, I have neglected the R13 players. None on my watchlist

3. Andy says:

Robinson and Stewart or
Franklin and Simpson

4. Sc_Wow says:

Might want to edit the pod boys, around the 29 minute mark

5. Jordan says:

Dom Barry to Rockliff
Or
Guelfi to Mitch Robinson?

6. Derek says:

Put a line through Ryder. Read he isn’t even training during the week.

Haven’t had to look at other Rucks, so thought I better have a sqiz.

Grundy is $620k. That is a big number. I had a look at his scores, they also are very large. Very impressive and clearly top 2 rucks in game.

Or is he?

I will play the devils avocado again.

Looking through his numbers, he has beat up on the little blokes. Scored massive against GWS, Geelong & Buldogs, but everyone does, they don’t have any decent ruckmen.

He got Carlton when Kruzer was injured, and everyone knows Jacobs isn’t much spit.

If you look at his games against the half-decent ruckmen, he has scored 95 (Mceroy), 113 (TBC), 115 (Nank), 110 (Stef) & 109 (Hickey). I use the term half-decent very loosely. Averages 110 against the B graders.

Hasn’t really come up against any of the A Graders.

That is about to change. Have a look at his next 7 matches.

Sandilands, Gawn, Kruzer, Witts, TBC, NicNat & Goldy.

I’m not expecting him to average even 110.

Staying away at his price.

• dognino says:

I’d think a majority of his points aren’t scored from ruck contests themselves. Avg 22 possessions a game , nearly 10 of the contested, nearly 5 clearances a game, nearly 5 tackles a game and an average of 220 metres gained per game. Him and Gawn, clear top 2 ruckman in my book.

• Derek says:

Good point Dognino.

• Jack says:

It's a good point but also your point still had some merit. His hitouts to advantage will drop against quality ruckmen.
It's very possible that Grundy & Kreuzer both average ~110 from here on. Can't really see another option, unless NicNats tog increases

• Derek says:

WCE arnt going to change a winning formula. NicNat TOG of about 60% is working really well. Won’t change.

Vardy will be back soon as well

• Russty_ says:

No love for Nicnat Derek?…he's going ok with limited gametime, will probably have a few crazy big scores too.

• Derek says:

I’m worried that WCE are going well and won’t go away from what is working well for them. NicNat starts each quarter and plays about 10 mins, then has a rest and comes back for the last 7ish mins of the quarter as fresh as a daisy. It is working. Plus Vardy is close to returning.

• Jack says:

So we wait 2 more weeks Derek, he plays 2 of the best big bastards in the business. If he averages 100 the next 2 it's enough for me, I'll bring him in after his bye.
It sucks that Lycett has his bye before him though
Who is your alternative now that Ryder is not?

• Lazza says:

Sandilands unlikely to play this week..

• fcabel says:

I've come to the same conclusion with Nank on board. Kreuz coming into form may be the answer.

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Have a look at his around the ground stats. Speaks for itself. Even if he has a tough time against Gawn/Sandi he WILL get possessions and tackle. He's the 4th midfielder.

• easy 1 says:

Just grab the Hoff

• SC_Sixty_6 says:

I've got 1 rookie upgrade left (Fritsch to McLean after round 12), but also got Goldspud to trade out during the bye's. Would love Grundy but Kreuz or Nic Nat 100k cheaper is a lot easier to trade to, especially a round 13 bye ruck for a round 12.

Love your Grundy analysis Derek, more food for thought

• Brissy bombers says:

Sandy officially ruled out by freo.. gee whiz

• prizza says:

Gee whiz grundy along side gawn would have to mean jackpot surelyl

7. Ryan says:

Travis boak or westhoff ? Both pods! Both very consistent this year.. thoughts

8. Defying_Madness says:

My problem with regards to Rocky without mentioning his injury history is that he is a mid. My midfield is fine for the byes and I think I have only 1 donut in the midfield over all 3 weeks. I am in need of a forward premo from port/gc so if Gray tonnes up this week and plays enough midfield I will be bringing him in next week. I will be watching Hawks vs Port very closely considering I will be at the game.

9. Rivo says:

Considering a somewhat safer play this week.

T.Kelly & Garlett to Boak & T.Smith.

10. Josh says:

Is Walters a must this week?

11. Steve says:

Would anyone consider Ed Curnow to be a good pick up?

Carlton have the softest draw in the comp after the bye and he averages 117 without Murphy in the side this year.

Or would you rather go for someone life Dusty, Gaff or Treloar?

Cheers community

• Lazza says:

Great POD .. he and Gaff are incredibly consistent, but ceiling not as high as the other two.. I guess it depends on how many boom/bust players you have… the consistent scorers underpin your team.

• Dale says:

Fantastic pod. I can’t split rocky and ed curnow been eyeing him off till his bye for 2-3 weeks now. The suspension was handy

12. Jordan says:

Rockliff or Mitch Robinson?

• theRealPod says:

Both have huge ceilings but Rocky hasn't reached that height for awhile. Both injury prone but I would go Robbo out of the two.

• Skindog says:

Robbo over Rocky for me, Rocky looking half the man he used to be, soft like Pie (dog) but im going a massive pod thats on the rise in Lever!!

13. nutsack says:

OUCH!!! Did anyone see Ratugoleas ankle injury? His foot was pointing down beyond a straight line with his leg. Check out the footage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNtFoQfGer4

14. nutsack says:

2 bubble rookies in the hand is worth more than a fallen premo in the bush

15. Jack says:

Rockliff had 68% tog in China. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing. Nice PPM, but is he still carrying injury?

16. Dale says:

Is T.smith really that much of a must? It wouldn’t be the first time a rookie has scored big till his bubble then flopped? I really don’t know much about his playing role & JS. Feel free to fill me in.

I want Walters and rocky but don’t wanna miss smith if his a must.

• neil demonsdelight says:

Definitely the real deal Helps gawn out as well j.s is ok injuries the problem NDD

• Mick says:

His BE is -118, coming toward the pointy end of the season many of us will only trade down a handful more rooks to fill out the team. A guy who even if he avgs 65 from here on that will be $350k is pretty damn valuable imo.

• paul says:

He is 27 a ready made player and in a team going to score big on the way up. The probability of him averaging 80/90 with the variables in place is very high.

17. TommyC99 says:

Thoughts on Findlayson/Duman – T Smith (keeffe into defence) and Kelly – Rockliff?

18. Nick says:

!!!! HELP !!!

ROCKLIFF OR WALTERS???

Who should be first priority? I want walters but already have 2 premo forwards and 3 premo mids with the round 14 bye.

What are your thoughts community

• Russty_ says:

Hey Nick, unless you're ranked right up there, and you mainly play for rank, I reckon just get who you want and be prepared for one bad bye round, if it's mainly Leagues you play for, why bring a bunch of guys in you wouldn't normally want just to get your score up there?
The byes don't affect you too much if it's mainly Leagues you play for, you might cop one or even two losses in the byes and can still win your league at the end of it.
Cheers.

• Derek says:

Rocky won’t be a top 10 mid.

Walters is very likely to be a top 8 forward.

Easy choice, but need to think about the byes, so will look at him again after his bye if he hasn’t re-injured his knee again.

19. Ando says:

Fritsch to T Smith & T Kelly to Treloar

Yay or nay?

20. Russty_ says:

Naughton should be back this week, if anyone's interested, saw an article and video on the Bulldog's website.

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Damn it!!!!

• Lazza says:

I traded him last week.. had to.. to field back line.. bought in Yeo and Ridley

• Babanna says:

I hope he plays. Good rookie who lost cash because he went off after one minute.

• Russty_ says:

Hey mate this was part of the Bulldog's Press release on Monday titled 'Naughton in the mix to return'

The Western Bulldogs could welcome back first-year defender Aaron Naughton this weekend, while fellow backman Zaine Cordy faces a test to face the Demons on Saturday.

Naughton rolled his ankle during latter stages of the Dogs’ 14-point win over Brisbane in Round 8, but has been cleared to return to full training this week.

“Aaron has made a really good recovery following his ankle injury, medical services manger Chris Bell told westernbulldogs.com.au on Monday.

“He ticked off a really good footy session over the weekend and he's in line to return to full training this week. If he ticks the boxes as we expect, he returns to playing this weekend.”

21. DEES NUTS R BIG says:

Supercoach defenders on the cheap
Rice VS Ridley (this week), Heroin VS Austin (next week)
Who ya taking?

22. DEES NUTS R BIG says:

Tommy Rockliff Supercoach SlapNuts – Trade him in suckas!

23. ROB14 says:

Tom Phillips? What are people's thoughts? Looking at him, Heppell or Selwood as a cheap POD

24. Doc_1 says:

Judging by the feed, NOT taking Rocky is going to be the POD
(and probably not too risky a POD given his injury history).

25. Can says:

I would like everyone's opinions on who they think the top 6 forwards we going to be.

I'm thinking of picking up gray or Walters this week (i know significant difference in price and breakevens) but am concerned about whether Walters is a top 6 forward.

Also should I lean towards gray because I already have fyfe and mundy? (Don't care about byes cause going for league)

Cheers in advance

• Jack says:

If byes don't matter I'd go Walters cos he is cheaper. If I didn't have Gray I'd wait and see. He looks like he has gone back to a forward role, if he does he is still good enough to average 95ish, but I reckon Walters could do that for cheaper.

As for top6 it's hard for forwards but I'd say:
Must haves (ave100+) Heeney & McLean

Gray a must have ONLY IF playing midfield
Then I'd say any of Smith, Westhoff, Boak, Franklin, Sicily*, Darling
Or if you want a cheaper more risky yet proven player then Josh Kennedy is your man

• Ja191 says:

remember previous scores are irrelevant it's what they score from now on. Gray with rockey in the side will see a similar output to last year scoring poorly some weeks and some good others (played forward more). Walters averaged 100 until he got injured, absolute bargain for his price. Will finish top 6 if he doesn't get injured, lock him in.

• Derek says:

in the injury report, it said that Walters hurt his knee in the 3rd quarter but was able to finish the game. i didn't see the game, anyone see that?

26. Cam says:

Youve convinced me boys, saves me an extra 120k can use to maybe get macrea after bye or gray in a few weeks if I still feel confident.

Will mean I have:
McLean heeney smith mundy Walters.
Can decide who's best to fill last spot later on

27. DavidSA says:

Best case senario for Rockliff:
1) he does not get injured
2) he stays in the midfield
3) Ports draw gets easier so expect him to stay Mid and Gray to stay Fwd
4) averages over 105 on the run home
5) if all of the above happens he will be 550k give or take thus made you over 170k

The upside far exceeds the risk
Don't compare the risk to previous years. Pat yourselves on the back you all did not start him this year and reward yourselves with a triple bye cover player who can score way above his current price

• JugHead says:

Even comparing the risk to previous years, I'm fairly positive. I put a lot of weight on recent history.
Last year Rocky played 20 games. Although he didnt have a fantastic average, it was his last year at brisbane and funny things happen with players who are leaving. The year buddy left the hawks, they played him way up the ground to try out gunston etc as deep forwards. But I digress…..
I think a few people are remembering a couple of years previously when rocky yo-yo'd in and out with injuries, burning quite a few along the way. That is now ancient history. He played 20 games last year, by his own admission didn't have a good preseason this year, is 28 years old (ok, a high kilometer 28yo) and is very nicely priced. I think he will work into the rest of the season fine except for pure bad luck.
Lets compare that to someone like Lids, who I wouldn't go anywhere near even before his latest calf injury.
Lids hasn't played 20 games since 2013, is 31 years old and is 100k more.

• DavidSA says:

Good insight

• The Ranger says:

Hehehe…this one is gonna run all week isn't it David?
I genuinely hope he does well cos I love the way he plays but I've just got too many scars.

Jughead, he had surgery on his shoulder after 2017 so I would suggest you can't regard that as ancient history. and he averaged 78 over the last 12 games of 2017.

• Swans2012 says:

The 78 average involved the bung shoulder though didn't it? Mid season injury? Can't quite remember

• JugHead says:

Yep, it will run all week…lol. Rockliff is banged up for sure, and the shoulder op no doubt had a lot to do with his preseason.
But as he gets games under his belt now I think he will improve. If you believe his average last season was affected by playing injured, you have to believe he will average higher from now on if he is right. Assuming he continues to play as a mid.
Incidently, this isn't necessarily a recommendation to take Rocky over Walters.
Derek made a good point earlier, that Walters should finish a higher ranked forward than Rocky's mid rank.
I think if you pick Rocky, you are doing it mainly for his price and bye coverage.
If you go Walters its because of that high rank as a fwd and his current price. Also, Walters would make a very good M9/fwd swingman at the pointy end of the season.

• Derek says:

even with the best case, he isn't a top 8 midfielder, therefore he should be traded out at some point.

comes back to the question i ponder a lot…. what is a trade worth?

• redherringfc says:

Say we aim to increase team value by 4 million, divide by 30 trades. You end up around $135k.

But some of the increase (like decrease) is from your initial picks.

If he makes $135k, I’ll be happy.

• Johnny says:

Depending on your cash generation and trades left come finals he could be an M9 for most if he isn’t firing properly . If he goes nuts then happy days….

• Marty says:

Totally agree with all comments and your question Derek. Is this year a little different as many rookies have made us money? We might have a little more luxury to trade Rocky in and keep him as a M9. I have weighed it up and would prefer one more week to make up my mind and jump on someone else first. Yes that might cost another 20-30k but I'm willing to take that risk.

• Ricardo says:

Armitage Mark II

• Ricardo says:

Averaging 42 if you count the 0's he's scored while missing games. Not close to SC relevant.

• DavidSA says:

he is bye relevant and cash gen relevant and relevant to those who will struggle to have full premo.
You know the ones who held onto Hibberd, Billings or Tracca

• JohnDJ59 says:

I had all three David, they are long gone from my team, but I traded Hibbo to Hurley, who then got injured, Hibbo would have been handy for my team on the weekend, with two donuts in the backline.

28. Lazio says:

Rockliff will be injured within the next 3 weeks, take that to the bank.
Enjoy a spud score of a 70odd in the meantime.

29. Gibbs says:

Josh Kelly needs to be discussed more, personally after his bye I think he is someone we should all consider.

Averaged 114 last year hasn't reached those heights yet due to his groin, but should be priced 530-550 round 14 Ripe for the taking!

30. anthdepa7 says:

Ridley or Rice? #askingforafriend

31. SC_Sixty6 says:

I see alot of people trading in Walters and wonder if they really take into account that he isn't 100% and won't be until he has surgery on his PCL that he injured a month back.

From personal experience having done my ACL, PCL and Meniscus it will only take 1 awkward tackle or a twist or a knock and his knee will blow up like a balloon again with the swelling that has already occured. But that's only from personal experience so just my two cents.

He may be cheap but is he another trade waiting to happen. All pre season we look at who are the injury prone player's and try minimise this and so far this week I see ROCKY & WALTERS as inclusions. Think long and hard guys.

• BrownlowBoy says:

He didn't have surgery did he?

• SC_Sixty6 says:

No. That will be last resort because it would put him out for alot longer than 2 weeks.

There was damage and swelling to his PCL. I'm just waiting for it to go again like last year.

• BrownlowBoy says:

ah sorry my mistake.

Who are you bringing in this week?

• SC_Sixty6 says:

This week I will be doubling down ready to upgrade in byes. I'm fine with watching rocky prove me wrong this week for not much of a price rise. He's still cheap enough so if he goes well they have all the byes at home.

• JugHead says:

For players in that situation, even if his knee holds together, at some point the club can decide its time for him to get the op done anyway to give him a good start for the next yeaar. Lyons has said he wants to keep getting games into the kids.

• Derek says:

i read the injury report from the weekend and it said that he hurt his knee in the 3rd quarter, but was able to finish the game. i didn't see it, was he limping on it?

• Derek says:

talking about knee injuries… how is Lobb's knee going?

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Lobbs knee is no good. Good enough to play but with the injuries GWS have he's putting in. He's getting fluid constantly drained from it. No ligament damage so that's the main thing.

• Keenbutclueless says:

Interesting for me was that Keefe did a lot of the ruck work a couple of week’s ago. Then dropped when Patton came back. Lobb rucked and tonned up. I threw the Hail Mary and picked him up, will throw another one with Rocky. Both most likely to end badly, but goddam its more exciting than meandering along eying all these far superior teams to mine.

• Ahmad rubas says:

I brought him in as well mainly because I'm tight on cash tho and seemed a good value option happy he scored the ton this week and has very low ownership

• SC_Sixty6 says:

He was fine. He did repeat efforts and lost so starting limping….the ball came back quick and he was running again.

• DavidSA says:

That shows he is mindful of it off the ball but when involved in the play that footy brain kicks in. This will be a defining moment this season. 1) he breaks down again and we all say "see" or 2) he run home 110+ and we all say "gee" lol

• prizza says:

So you dont have sony, lol , he is slightly built which is an advantage, a good healer as well proven in the past which is an advantage, he will cop his fair share because now in the mids and he has got lets say a bit of mongrel in him and open to big hits but , i already have him and i can take his high ceiling every couple of weeks even if it means looping.
Stay away from him lol.

• SC_Sixty6 says:

I hope for your sake he stays on the park. But he went down like he was shot on an awkward twist with someone just holding him last time.

• seen_burns says:

I agree, feel like he is a bit to fragile especially playing more midfield minutes, may drop off or get another injury later in the year, also having the Rd 14 bye is killer for my team. Even though he is dripping of value, I'll pass and get someone like a Westhoff.

32. BlueBoy says:

What are Mirra's chances of getting another game this week?

Have Murphy and Keeffe on bench so I might have to think about cover…

• Derek says:

i thought he had a poor game last week, didn't have the height against WCE. But somehow managed a decent SC score. Port is a better match up for him and i expect him to hold his place.

• theRealPod says:

He did look out of place early in that WC game but did improve. He's a work in progress and I think he'll keep his spot for now. Frawley listed as a test with his shoulder and Birch 4 weeks away (has that list been updated?)

33. Sc_Wow says:

Had another look at the rocky situation. Not going to risk it

• Doc says:

Reasoning? Too injury prone for you or do you have some contacts at Port with the inside scoop?

• Sc_Wow says:

Lack of trades if he does get injured. I rather just bring in a premo mid this week instead

• JugHead says:

Despite me pumping up Rocky, I wouldn't blame anyone for that point of view either. I hate bringing in stepping stone players.
IF I bring in Rocky, its to keep him, and to be honest, I'd prefer a dpp M9.

• Doc says:

Fair bump. I'll be looking at trading in Treloar or Gaff after their byes anyway so he'll be what I hope is a decent M9 looper. Then again though not trading him in is probably beneficial to you because you are ranked so high and are aiming to be higher

• DavidSA says:

Seems like a lot doing a 180 on him
Community strategy or as the week gets closer peeps letting the history of burn from him settle in.

I know it's different in your situation… you have to consider how many will jump on him who are ranked in the top 1k
Would be more benificial for you to pass on him I think

Rockliff is a great selection for those who are struggling with byes and can foresee that they are struggling to get full premo

• Sc_Wow says:

Yep if I pass on him I can get smith and a legitimate premo midefeilder to finish my 8

• Whatyasmokin says:

Flipside to the struggling to get full premo reasoning is that Rocky could just guarantee that failure for many. Better off just continuing to paint the fence with reliable premos. I see Rocky as a bonus option for those doing well and could even be their M10.

• Sc_Wow says:

I think he’s going two ways, people using him as a luxury player in the byes, which is fine if you have plenty of trades, and plan to still have plenty of trades afterwards.

However I think there are just as many out there that are running low on cash and see rocky as a bargain m8, this is too big of a risk for me.
If you have plenty of cover in your byes the trade to rocky may not be necessary as we have seen a lot of rookies who can pump out 100’s this year

• Derek says:

Rocky is for those who are short on cash and ready to throw their ‘hail Marry’ for the season.

Short on cash he is a good option

• Moosehead says:

Yes Derek, I’m short on cash and The Roc is too risky for me, then again, I probably don’t take enough risks. Now resigned to just playing for leagues after getting off to the best start I have had in eight years of playing SC. Injuries to key players and also traded out Nank for expensive Grundy a couple of weeks ago when I figured he would be a late out but no, Nank scored 115.

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Yup good meeting this morning Wow! Take a step back and get out of that tunnel vision!

• neil demons delight says:

congratulations to wow and 66 for these recent posts This is the wow/66 that we all want. As I have said before your knowledge is football fantasy is second to none. and that post about walters knee was a delight. Keep this up and forget all the crap and you wtll wen ppl back .Well done lad//s

• gator59 says:

A very wise move

• prizza says:

Wowzer you just made 100000 supercoachers hit the reverse button lol.
Might wait one more week myself and see how the rocky gray thing works as there may not be room for both.

34. Crowboy94 says:

Interested to hear what you guys think of my team:

Laird, Yeo, Sicily, Simpson, McGovern, Crisp (Duman, Murphy)

Dangerfield, MaCrae, Mitchell, Fyfe, Cripps, Crouch, Merrett, Holman (Spargo, Barry, Phillips)

14 trades and 179k

Gawn, Nank (Cameron)

Heeney, Mclean, Westhoff, Fritsch, Billings, Smith (Guelfi, Keefe)

35. JugHead says:

For those who use footywire to get a lot of their info (for those that don't, you should, its very handy)…. footywire lists Rocky as dpp. He isn't. He is mid only in SC site.

36. Wayward says:

I’m taking a punt of Tim Kelly to turn his form around after his 10 possession last quarter. If he fails, out he goes. Anyone else doing likewise?

• Sc_Wow says:

Traded him last week, he's a rookie who is now losing cash

• theRealPod says:

If he loses 20k-25k won't be that bad. If he can regain his early form it would be a brilliant move and will become a POD as a bonus. You could then trade him out before round 14 when Cats have their bye.

• Beezneez says:

Forced to keep him on account of other trades. That also rules out a trade to Walters and I didn't want to trade him to a rookie. I read that he may be playing sore. Think his game time was reduced early. He's too good a player to dismiss atm for me. Will reconsider after this round.

• DacZawson says:

I believe that he's had a slight role change, causing him to be at less centre bounces than he was in the first few weeks where he tonned up. Cats still experimenting with their mid/fwd mix given their plethora of options but for the moment I'd be giving Kelly the flick.

• Russty_ says:

I'm just going Kelly to Smith this week so far, and to cash up before Kelly loses much more cash.

• Marty says:

Does he have a different role? Done a great job for everyone but think you need to listen to him mooooooooooing and hit the trade button

• JohnDJ59 says:

I was going to trade Kelly out last week, but had problems in defence, he has now been traded to Rice, plus I needed some cash after two upgrades last weekend.

• Whatyasmokin says:

Waste of cash I reckon. Could bleed another 30k

37. John says:

Hey boys would love your thoughts on my team

Laird Simpson Lloyd Sicily mirra (Keefe murphy)

Danger fyfe Mitchell Martin cogs cripps merret Walters (spargo Barry Phillips)

Gawn Martin (cameron)

McLean heeney smith mundy Fritsch Henry (Smith zgl)

15 trades left 330k in the bank

Thanks in advance

• Sam_01 says:

Need to fix up your backline next week or you will cop a few 0s in first bye potentially mirra to Hurley if he is back next week? Or hope you can gather some playing rookies
Also second bye you cop a double 0 in the ruck and your fwd you will have 2 0’s with current structure look to trade fristch in the coming weeks could go fristch to yeo after his bye via sicily swing then when you upgrade mirra you can grab a backman or swing Sicily back to finnish defence and grab a fwd

• SC_Sixty6 says:

I would trade Henry and ZGL swing Walters fwd and get Smith up fwd then get an Uber premo in mid to finish it off!

38. Steeeve says:

I'm bringing in Smith for Dom Barry.

Then can't decide whether to bring in Walters for Petracca or Rice for Naughton.

If I choose not to take Rice or Ridley, I will be hoping Heron and Austin are worth picking up the week after for a defensive double downgrade.

• Dice_real says:

I wouldn't miss Walters at this price

• Steeeve says:

That's how I feel.
I have Petracca and Charlie Curnow (who has not exceeded 86 since I brought him in after round 2) so Walters is going to help me cut a fake premo.

Hope those defence rookies perform well again next week.

Would you trade out Petracca (352k be45) or Curnow (402k be103)?

• Dice_real says:

I'm keeping Petracca till his round 13 bye then gonna trade his arse, All goes to plan he's my last upgrade, the last 2 weeks he's been ok.
Depends on your coin, if struggling give Charles the flick with that b/e

39. Keenbutclueless says:

See Kobe Mutch is likely to be missing for a number of weeks. Headaches apparently. Was surprised he was dropped. Guess we know why.

40. Johnny says:

Any love for Mitch Robinson? Or Dayne beams?

41. Doc says:

Any particular reason why the podcast aren't available on the podcast app? Click on them and says it's temporarily unavailable? Is there a reason or is it just One Of Those Things™?

42. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Just a thought.
The next bye is rd 12 not rd 11 so if u are looking for coverage aka rocky you don't need him till next week.
Sure he may go up $30k but so will one of your rooks.
Give him another week and reassess.
Thats the plan.

• Russty_ says:

Hey Trig, was thinking the same, normally wouldn't touch mr glassbody but if he whacks out another ton this week I might be tempted.

43. BlueBaggerJosh says:

Will be in an awkward position next week, still don't have Yeo or McLean but can't trade them in yet, will probably have to settle with the hoff and hope they both get cheaper in time for me to trade Doedee and Mirra to them

44. Juzzy says:

I know I shouldn’t but …
Open letter to SC and 66.
G’Day Community. In years gone by I have been a regular reader/poster here. I left that alone after the two self-appointed geniuses appeared. My 15 minute smoke and coffee break turned quite less pleasurable.
Supercoach is simple … pick a decent team, buy low, sell high, have a strategy, and enjoy the games on the weekend. It is Grade 3 maths. Also , and here’s where I find this interesting, it’s subjective. Anyone in life who will belittle or judge others for a subjective opinion immediately exposes themselves as ignorant and narcissistic. Hence … Every time I read one of your inflammatory posts I picture a child screaming “Everyone should know I am better than them at Grade 3 maths !” You are not curing cancer.
I would not have bothered had you not gone out of your way to chip away at community members who have been contributing for years. I cannot for the life of me figure out what you are hoping to achieve. Whatever that goal is you seem close. If it’s worth burning down a happy place then go at it.

• Dice_real says:

Love it Juzzy. The funny thing is they don't realize we all have this opinion

• Mystic_Mac says:

Bang on.

• Jack says:

My 2 cents.
Alot of their posts at the start of the year I didn't agree with. Mainly ones directed at the admin and writers of this site. I recall Kev copping it for rank last year, which I didn't like because I really enjoy reading his panic room article. Lek & Patch copped a bit early on (from more than these 2 tbh) for their podcast which I though was way out of line.
However, to be fair of recent times their only posts which seem to be upsetting people are when people have a go at them first and they stand up for themselves/each other.
So my advice would be everyone continues along being positive to each other for the best of the community alike.

• Rick Grimes says:

They have improved, but typically the post will read as follows;

Joe bloggs: "what do I do with billings?"
66/wow: "can't believe you picked him the first place.
Joe bloggs: "thought he'd keep up his 2017 form.
66/wow: "rookie mistake. Terrible pick".
Joe Bloggs: "steady on, mate. What makes you such an expert".
66/wow: "look at my rank. Top 100 soon. Flog".
Joe Bloggs: ***closes page***

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Yeah you shouldn't have. Pointless post just trying to dig up something that's already burried.

Was a cute story though. 😘😘🙊🙊

• smart as s says:

I totally agree, i reckon wow and 66 are two oversized keyboard warriors who dont have much going on in this beautiful lives of ours. Looking back at articles, their comments are everywhere attacking others or boasting themselves. Looking back in the next few years, they will ask themselves where did time go and how much more they could have done for themselves, their family and friends#YOLO

45. Red pepper says:

Tim Smith. Melbourne did well recruiting him. Talented player but I hope he is not injury proned like some unlucky players in years gone by. In his first year (2017) he broke his ribs after playing a couple of games then sustained a dreadful foot injury that kept him out for the rest of the year. Fingers crossed for him. Still umming and arring whether I’ll trade ZGL and grab him.

• Russty_ says:

We all hope that but you'd be mad not to get him, you'll make money both ways ..and hopefully he continues with his scoring as well,
Giles Langdon ain't exactly setting the world on fire.

• Jack says:

Broken ribs can happen to anyone. Foots more of a worry, but surely the bigger risk is not taking him

• neil demons delight says:

They chose him over McInerney and chose correctly. ZGL to Smith is ideal. Strong whispers Balic is close They love his contested ball NDD

46. stevo says:

Jimmy Webster gonna be busy this week.

47. INPieman says:

SC Elites league ranked 28th overall. Well done fellas

48. Russty_ says:

Saw this on the AFL website…not included is that Darcy Parish is also ruled out for 2 months..

In a further blow for the Bombers, a calf injury will see defender Patrick Ambrose ruled out until at least until round 14.

Michael Hurley is expected to be back after missing the past two weeks with a hamstring injury as Essendon faces reigning premiers Richmond on Saturday night.

Youngster Kobe Mutch is unlikely to play again this weekend after a series of headaches in recent weeks.

Could mean Ridley keeps his spot for a bit longer for those who have him.

• Sc_Wow says:

All I see is HURLEY is back yewwww

• Dildor says:

Ridley is a gun. Watched him play a VFL game last year where he had 29 disposals at 100%. His ball use is out of this world. Came first at the draft combine for kicking too. Hope essendon keep playing the kid, he's a 100 ave of 18 touches player just waiting to happen.

• Kane says:

Russty_ I'm pretty unlucky with that Cripps captain pick last round that we agreed on. I got 2457 and lost head to head by 30points. He had M. Robinson…. like wtf.

49. Rivo says:

Looking at he thread of comments on trade options, it appears that trading in a mid/fwd premo is wiser. Can bring Rocky in next week if needed. Thoughts please???

Option 1: T.Kelly & Higgins to McLean & T.Smith
Option 2: T.Kelly & Garlett to Boak & T.Smith
Option 3: T.Kelly & Garlett to Walters & T.Smith

• Rick Grimes says:

Option 1 for mine.

• gator59 says:

Option one for me too

• JohnDJ59 says:

All three are good in their own way, but for quality, option 1, for not sure what to do, option 2 and for value, option 3.

• Sam_01 says:

Gartlet needs to go he is basically a donut won’t make any cash Higgins maybe has a tad left! You have missed out on most the post from mclean now so I reckon it’s better to jump on Walters and snag him while he is cheap he was averaging 110 at the start of the year and your gonna get him for 400k. Does depend on your bye structure though and who you thing will finnish in the top 6-10 mclean is a lock in the top 10 need to have him but Walters for mine at current valye

• Rivo says:

Thanks Sam. Walters had a high ceiling & allows me to keep Higgins longer and have $100k heading to the byes. Would love to get McLean, but the upcoming byes mean focus on value. 👍🏽

• Dildor says:

Option 1 IMO. Every week without McLean seems to leak points. He's a pure midfielder with forward eligibility.

50. Sam_01 says:

Curious on people’s
1.rank and trades left
2.how many premos to fill on field
3. How much cash on the bench/bank and how much is needed to finnish the team

I’m sitting 978 13 left after bringing in Walters and smith this week, was forced to trade a none playing bench rookie down to smith made minimal coin for it but I will just need blokes on the park come the byes. Have mirra and Spargo to go gonna need roughly 500k got stuff all rookie stocks on the bench need a bunch of freshies to rise

51. Maverick_ says:

After sleeping on the rocky trade I am starting to get cold feet. I had ed curnow penciled in until I started gettin sucked into the rocky hype as tempting as the bye cover & price is ed will be a much safer selection.
But still plenty of time to be swayed back to rockliff! :/

• BlueBaggerJosh says:

a lot of people leaving the rockliff thought process to a mad monday phase, ed curnow is a good pod mate, expect at least 1-2 130+ scores whilst murph is out. I'm contemplating Rockliff v Curnow as well.

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Go Ed. Then you can sleep easy night before the game. Rocky we just don't know. You didn't put him in pre season so why now? The price? Maybe for bench cover but not a premo slot.

• Skindog says:

Rocky is a watch, not going to go up hugely in price this week, about $20k, if he scores above 80, but cant see him going big so if he hits the tonne again then consider, and even then id be wary AF, very risky considering how hes been, ballsy to get him in after a 90 and a 100, put on hold like those Telstra dogs do !!!

• Whatyasmokin says:

Rocky has to be an M9 or even a donut on the bench. If you can handle those possibilities then lock him in.

52. Marty says:

I know Zuohy 'on ya boot' has been discussed last week somewhat but any love for him at 414k for an M6? Much better than putting Riddler on the field this week.

53. hadad says:

OUT
Kelly ($401,700)
IN
Rockliff ($374,900)
OUT
Barry ($182,400)
IN
Smith ($123,900)???

54. BeenHereBefore says:

Trading Kelly to T Smith this week via spargo swing.

Unsure on 2nd rookie to cull from the list below:

Doedee, Richards, Duman
Barry, Phillips, Spargo, Holman
Guelfi, Fritsch, Ronke, ZGL

Thoughts?

• Whatyasmokin says:

Hold Holman he'll now serve you well through all bye games. Barry may be recalled not sure.

Wait for whos named and make the call.

55. neil demons delight says:

Off topic but for our NRL ppl who follow AFL also could BILLY SLATER ever have played AFL .He looks a natural let alone CAM SMITH NDD

• dontblushbaby says:

Yep, Slater as an attacking 1/2 back, Smith in the Mid , I played both codes for 10 years but didn't set the world on fire

• neil demons delight says:

Thanks Blush looked like they could, Both codes give me enjoyment but as a long long time member of both the mighty demons and the mighty EELS I haven't seen much joy. Doesn't work the other way though AFL boys playing NRL maybe Danger or Tich could play halves cheers NDD

56. Duce says:

I noted in an earlier post that Tim Smith helps out Big Max in the ruck. Is he that tall?

57. George S says:

Hey Guys
Just a plodder needing some advice please on 2 options I'm foolishly considering….
1. Kelly & Holman/Langdon to Walters/Rocky & Smith, or
2. Kelly and Holman to Walters & Rocky?? (using ~ 130K cash reserves)
Thanks for any advice

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Hi George.

These are not foolish options my friend.

Option 1 combo is my pick. Kelly and Langdon to Rocky and Walters would be ideal. But looks like you will fall short cash wise.

Save a trade and just punt Kelly to Rocky.

Or, perhaps use that second trade to go Langdon to Smith. Walters will have to wait. Good luck mate!

• JugHead says:

I'll be keeping Holman through the byes. Very good bye cover and has a BE of 12. Can squeeze a bit more cash out of him with luck.

• George S says:

Thanks TopHawk and Jughead- good advice

58. Pod says:

Ur wlcm footywire go to source for everything afl related

59. TOPHAWK1 says:

Coaches who have 16+ trades at this point of the season and are playing for rank, like me, Rockliff is a no brainer. He has had a week off, his form and confidence is building, and with him playing throughout the byes, you have to be mentally defunct not to trade him in.

Like Lek said, it's a free hit!

If you are down to 12 trades or less, than you might want to look at other options. Just my take of course.

Guys like SC Wow and 66 might be running light on trades?.. 🙂

• Doc says:

I think they are down on trades but they're also 2-3 (correct me if I'm wrong) players off full premo by trading hard and obviously getting lucky with a few starting players as well

• TOPHAWK1 says:

No doubt Doc. They have had a good run with their starting side, had few injuries, suspensions, and have traded hard early in the season to get to their respective rankings. I am 4 short of full premo, with 17 trades and bringing in Rocky this week.

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Nice insight TH!

Good for you that you're grabbing rocky. We were in your position 3 weeks ago in terms of premos so had rocky been available back then I would have got him like you are now. But as we are further progressed and now only 2 off full premo it's a different story.

Rocky isn't a keeper, only cover for byes and bench. So goodluck.

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Hey buddy. I have a mate who is ranked 96 this week and is considering bringing in Tom Rockliff. He is 2-3 off full premo and is ranked higher than you and Wowser combined.

• Sc_Wow says:

Congratulations to your mate. I back my bye plans, maybe he works out for you two though <img draggable="false" class="emoji" alt="😊" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/2.4/svg/1f60a.svg">

I just had quick look at their team and it probably would be a good idea for them to bring in rocky as they have a number of non playing rookies so cash generation might be difficult, so a smart move on their behalf

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Tell your mate great work from me!

Maybe you can ask him for some advice seeing as he whoopin yo ass. Haha. Na it's a long season. But when he has Styles, Cameron, Keefe, Frampton, Worpel, Barry and Ratugolea…..no doubt his only option is to bring in rocky and he will stay at 2 premo to go as that is 0 cash generation.

He has had a VERY lucky run boy o boy wowee

• Sc_Wow says:

Cmon mate, as one of the respected members of this site surley you can post something constructive without having to have a dig at 66 and I for cheap likes.
Yep I have less trades than you and I don’t have the luxury of seeing how rocky goes. Good luck though we all have different straitigies

• TOPHAWK1 says:

"surley" is spelt like this: SURELY

"straitigies" is spelt like this: STRATEGIES

I hope your spelling lifts in coming weeks as your SC side is well ahead!

Good luck mate.

• Sc_Wow says:

Thanks mate had a few celebratory wines tonight so may be a tad drunk 😊

I hope your SC side can rise to match your exceptional spelling standards 😉

Just a question in regards to rocky, is it you plan to have him as an m9 or 8

• neil demons delight says:

Is SPP even worth considering as an alternative to Rocky who I wont touch Both 373k both mids both have a high ceiling both have recent tons both play for the Power but only one doesn't have a need for sticky tape Surley SPP has to be considered as a mighty M8/9 cheers boys great stuff NDD

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Celebrating early! I love your confidence.

For me Rocky is a floater at this time. Too early to call.

Cheers mate!

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Grammar police is a last ditch effort for a pathetic post. He has rocky as M8. I've checked his team. He won't reach full premo. Unfortunate but happens!

• Claire says:

I have enjoyed your comments (And advice) Tophawk. I have 16 trades, but now playing for leagues after a terrific start but still five off full squad and of course one needs 6-8 trades for the inevitable injuries, and I have had my fair share this year.
I traded Buddy out when I heard he had a heel problem because they are a bugger of an injury to shake off. I have one spot left in my mids and won’t be getting Macrae because he is too expensive for me now.
I am tempted to give Tim Kelly another week because he did have a good last quarter. If I trade him, in your opinion, should I get Rocky or Buddy. Buddy, who won’t get any cheaper could go berserk leading up to his bye but Rocky suits my bye structure better.
Derek et al also free to comment if possible.

• TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

As always look at your byes as buddy is rd 14

But if you r gonna get him grab him this week the blues r his his playground and he is the biggest kid who is gonna have the most fun.

He could go huuugee on Friday night.

• BrownlowBoy says:

Hi Claire,

Is this your first season of Supercoach? I feel I may have read a post earlier in the year from you saying you were new but I could be wrong?

Do you mind sharing your team?

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Hi Claire,

Glad you are doing great in your leagues. I had a shocker this week! Won only one and had a draw in another out of the 10 leagues I am in this week.

But as we know, a week is a long time in footy. I reckon that Kelly has to go. He has that nasty round 14 bye, and is now in freefall in losing cash. He just dropped $28K this week and has a BE of 136 going into round 11. (Could drop another $20K next week)

Kelly to Rockliff for me! Rocky will play through the byes, he is cheap, and a proven gun. (Yes he can breakdown tho) Buddy can wait as he is now rolling into his round 14 bye without any real momentum.

You have the trades, so why not take a chance on Rocky!

Good luck Claire!

• Claire says:

Hmm. The advice has got me pondering. Firstly, I’m not going great in my four leagues but hopefully I will improve.
I think? I’ll put Heeney in the mid for my last mid spot and when I get some dosh in say four weeks I’ll move him back fwd.
When I get Josh Kelly, a guy I like watching and who I traded out when I discovered he had OP. This will enable me to get Buddy this week because he is my favourite player. The great SCers play with their head but I sometimes pick players because I like them and until I eradicate that mentality I won’t be a top SCers, but you know what, I play for fun as well as wanting to win. Thanks for your comments everyone.

• neil demons delight says:

Hi Clare amazingly I agree with all you said Macrae too dear, I traded buddy and will get him back Kelly worth another week too good a player not to,but with 5 left you may have to consider keeping Kelly longer especially with 16 trades. I don't trust those players with injury concerns Lids, Ablett, Rocky that's why I am leaning towards SPP (power-pepper) He has a b.e of 17 coming off 128 and a great game at that ,and goes up 40 k next 2 weeks .No brainer to me .Good luck for the rest of the year Claire NDD

• gator59 says:

I grabbed Buddy last week Claire and even though he didn't perform he's a big chance to go huge this week

Sometimes you just gotta go with your gut and do what you think is right … GL whatever you decide

• Steeeve says:

I have 18 trades. Problem is my mids are full. M8 is Crouch.

Hey tophawk, big fan of what you bring to the community but i think it's time you stop with the constant digs at 66 and wow. Yes, i understand that in the past some of their comments could be taken as narcissistic and others as downright rude, but it's clear (at least in this article) that they are trying to be less inflammatory and generally more constructive. This is a fantastic community, and the only way to not ruin it is for both parties to grow up and (virtually) shake hands. Lets end the bullsh*t and the snide comments and focus on supercoach, like we used to back in the day. Cheers

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Thanks mate. I just call it as I see it.

• SC_Sixty6 says:

I commend you on standing up to TH, Aurora! At least you have the guts to say something as no one else seems to as the constant sarcasm and digs at us has come for a while now. Cheers mate. Keep it up

• AuroraBorealis?! says:

I wouldn't necessarily call it standing up to him, merely stating something i felt needed to be said. Both parties are in the wrong in this scenario and i feel it would better serve the community if this little "spat" were to cease.

60. KSinny says:

Thoughts on what trades I should do over the next few weeks. I have $180k and 17 Trades.

DEF: Yeo, Laird, Howe, Sicily, Simmo, Ridley (Keefe, Murphy)

MID: Titch, Fyfe, Cripps, Oliver, Cogs, Dusty, Zerrett, Kelly (Spargo, Holman, Brayshaw)

RUC: Gawn, Nank (Olango)

FWD: McLean, Heeney, D.Smith, Fritsch, Ronke, Higgins (Henry, Guelfi)

Your thoughts and ideas would be most welcome community. Cheers

• Whatyasmokin says:

Higgins and Brayshaw out Tim Smith and Walters in, Walters can hold a midfield spot until a reshuffle later on.

Both rookies I mention have made their cash, and Walters an absolute bargain considering scoring potential. Smith might be the last must have rookie this season.

61. Will says:

What's everybody's thoughts on bringing in a discounted Pendlebury rather than an Andrew Gaff?

62. BrownlowBoy says:

Sandilands won't play this week. Look for Grundy to go large again.

63. Jack says:

No love for Angus Brayshaw community what is going on?
Number 3 draft pick playing in the midfield, 420k duel position defender, just had 40 touches & 3 goals, playing in the midfield in the most inform team in the competition…
Surely people aren't put off by a head knock or 2?
If this was Callum Mills, people would be going wild
Neal talk some sense into these people already??!!

• dontblushbaby says:

Yes Jack, excellent value IMO for someone who needs a POD , DPP a bonus ,Cheers

• EricR says:

Too many other much better players. I hope he continues to shine.
You pick him and tell us what you think after the byes.

• neil demons delight says:

Hi Jack ( sorry couldn't resist mate) Too many good dees at present If not for byes you could easily have 10 Think I am kidding Gawn Oliver Hogan Fritsch Spargo McDonald Brayshaw Smith Petracca and Hibberd all warrant thought .That's pretty amazing really. Balic will come in shortly and perform well tearing it up at casey If you had BRAYSHAW from the get go then well done His DPP could prove invaluable linked with Oconnor Cheers NDD

• TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Had brayshaw right up to rd 1 but when wasnt named mad scramble turned into bonner which didnt turn out too bad.
Last def spot saved for Hurley after his bye but do like brayshaw just needs a clear run at it.
Viney is another only so many points to go around no surprise some of those hta from gawn now go to viney instead of oliver and olivers scores have been reduced.

• neil demons delight says:

Problem is too many good Dees Next year I am going to field the Melbourne team bugga it and I hear GATOR'S going to field the Saints squad Gator only a joke mate I know you won't have BILLINGS NDD

• Whatyasmokin says:

Brayshaw always on my radar since he made his mark a few years ago but the concussion risk too high with low trades left for me.

• prizza says:

If he gets a good run at it could be anything, natural footballer

64. Steeeve says:

So the thinking seems to be Rice has better job security than Ridley. Why?

• Doc says:

Mainly because people are scared of Hurley returning and pushing The Riddler out of the side. With the injury to Ambrose though I think Ridley should be pretty safe to at least his bye

• BrownlowBoy says:

Because Saints are trash and need to play kids.

• neil demons delight says:

Gator said he is good and they will play the kids Why not.All they need is a top ruck and a kicking coach.A couple of the young boys are very good Coffield Rice and Phillips are the future. Time for your membrey types to go NDD

• Whatyasmokin says:

It just makes more sense when one team is at ground zero the other is highly competitive when at their best.

• Shake_n_Bake_ says:

And with Brown out and the 2 week suspension to Carlisle only helps.

65. Doc says:

Henry or Fritsch to Smith? Henry is a massive yoyo but trading Fritsch would bank more money?

66. Phil says:

Which three?

Option 1: Gaff, Walters and Buddy
Option 2: Rockliff, Gray/Walters/Buddy and Webster

And also who out of Gray/Walters/Buddy to bring in if I do option 2 (would bring them in next week)

67. DavidSA says:

I JUST WOKE UP!

68. Ja191 says:

Thoughts on jjk instead of Walters as a pod?

• Tyruddanaut says:

You should grab Walters. Don’t look for players just because they’re a POD, it’s pretty obvious that’s what you’re doing. JJK has been going shocking

• Dildor says:

If youre after a decent POD, Caddy is shaping alright. He's an important part of the tigers lineup and with no prestia and maybe an injured reiwoldt he should be the benefactor of both more midfield time than isolation 1 on 1 deep in which he excels. He's kicking bags averaging 2 goals a game and 19 disposals. Looks the goods.

69. Jack says:

I know rucks change alot from year to year but who is gonna knock Gawn & Grundy off as 1-2 in the next 3-4 years given that Sandi, Kreuz, Goldy, Ryder are all on the wrong side of 30 and NicNat is fast approaching? Nankervis maybe?
Also, Melbourne & Collingwood are always going to have the same bye because of the Queen's birthday game.

70. Dildor says:

Im in a weird spot where next week i'm planning on bringing in Rockliff (providing he backs up with a ton), then one of Gray/Westhoff/Boak basically depending on which one scores best this week. Is this madness?

• DacZawson says:

No that seems fair, if you're set on picking up Rocky.
Although I wouldn't be just picking who scores highest this week. I'm sure you can make a logical decision about those three.
All have reasons for picking them.
Eg. Gray has highest ceiling
Boak adjusted to his role well this year and has high floor plus a good run coming up at Adelaide Oval
Westhoff looking like getting more ruck/mid time with Ryder carrying an injury

71. SC_Sixty6 says:

Perfect 9 in the bag!!!!!

72. TheGreatBozza says:

Had my sights set on Rocky for 2 weeks but I'm thinking of passing him up now for one of Heeney or Simpson. Who is the better pick?

B: Laird, Howe, Sicily, Savage, Doedee, Finlayson (Richards, Murhpy)
M: Titch, Fyfe, Danger, Dusty, Pendles, Crips, Cogs, Kelly (Higgins, Phillips, Holman)
R: Gawn, Grundy (Hayes)
F:: McLean, Smith, Walters, Billings, Fritsch, Ronke (Spargo, ZGL)

As you can see both my FWD & BACKS need work to bring in more premos. I've got 23 trades left

73. Sully321 says:

what should I do with JJ? ive been stuck with him since the start of the year and I've just about had enough
and also what do we think of tom mcdonald? could be very handy through the byes with his fwd/def dpp especially since I have sicily and keefe in my side

• FFC says:

i am considering but Melb have had an easy run of late. so keep that in mind. Other support through byes is considering Port/GCS players depending on who is in your side. is McDonald top 6 def/fwd's…not so sure.

• Filth Wizard says:

Watch out for his toe reportedly still got issues with it.

74. Filth Wizard says:

Kruzer or Nic Nat finally getting rid of Jacobs forever.

• Derek says:

WCE have kept his TOG around 60%. I cant see that increasing much because it is working. He gets to come on fresh and dominate. They also have Vardy back soon.

He looks injury free.

75. Tyruddanaut says:

Dusty Martin or Tim Smith

76. hadad says:

t cole – k simpson (finish my defence off)
t kelly to t smith (generate some cash)

next week
out Matt Guelfi swing sicily forward in webster
out spargo in rokkie
out ????(worst mid price player) in rokkie
in two best mids for medium priced players

thoughts (i have 13 trades and 4 premos to fill

77. Tyruddanaut says:

Also, Fritsch or Holman for on field

78. hadad says:

OUT
Kelly ($401,700)
IN
Smith ($123,900)
OUT
Fogarty ($217,400)
IN
Rockliff ($374,900)

79. frigate says:

Good podcast guys! 2 thumbs up, a guitar sticker and a matching pair of googles to snorkel in.

OK, so rucks are a dilemma for me. I have Gawn, Sandi and English. Sandi needs to go. He has made 55k. and is at $536k. I have lots of cash, but need to start getting some more points. I am thinking going to Grundy. I can not see a better reliable option. I am not looking at Ryder, as my trades will be at 14 after this round, and I cannot afford another ruck trade.

Thoughts community?

• Glenn says:

Hey, I have Sandi too. Been looking at Witts. Has similar average, will play all bye rounds and is $70k cheaper.. If you have the cash though go for Grundy. Hang on to English for now. Hope that helps frigate?

• Derek says:

Grundy has some very tough match up over next 7 weeks. Although it looks like he has dodged Sandi this week.

80. smart as s says:

Paul ahern to debut…perfect timing for a rd 14 downdrade!

81. ROB14 says:

What are people's thoughts on Pendles?
pretty cheap..

82. r_calve says:

kelly to boak and barry to Smith,
good or bad

83. Monitoring says:

Hi guys I am a long time lurker very rare poster.

I was going quite well last week until Finlayson being out, L Murphy being dropped really messed up my plans.

I've got the following players who could be traded out:
finlayson, duman, naughton, L Murphy
Tim Kelly, Crowden, Holman
Fritsch, Stephenson

I am thinking I should trade out Duman and Tim Kelly

both have terrible byes and Duman hasn't even been playing.

My first option is to go
Duman > Tom Jonas
and
Tim Kelly > T Smith (via stephenson)

Second option is:
Duman > Ridley / Rice
T Kelly (or stephenson) > T Smith

What do you think community?

I am leaning to option #1 as it fixes me up through the byes a bit and Tom Jonas is a massive POD at 93 average, only 1% ownership.

84. Mark says:

Hey guys, thoughts on the team and what to do would be great.

Def: Lloyd, Webster, Yeo, Laird, Simpson, Doedee (Murray, Keefe)
Mid: Fyfe, Cripps, Mitchell, Oliver, Treloar, Coniglio, Merrett, Rockliff (Brayshaw, Spargo, Phillips)
Ruck: Martin, Gawn (McInerney)
Fwd: Gray, Heeney, Smith, Hogan, Fritsch, Ronke (Rioli, Fogarty)

Looking at going Fritsch & Rioli > McLean & Timothy Smith.

Have only 1,700 in the bank. Would leave me with 9,600 afterwards. Currently ranked 104.

85. LEKDOGGIE says:

HOLY MOLY NICE TEAM

86. Instube APK says:

very interesting post, Thanks for sharing such useful information here, I must visit your site for more in the future.

• Russty_ says:

Ok…we'll see you then I guess, thanks for posting this in 4 different threads by the way…I might've missed it otherwise.

87. Daisy says:

Lek could you please please stop raising your voice into the mic without a condensor, it's deafening mate and takes away from the impact you're looking for.

88. Paule says:

Hey community, do I bring in Heeney or Walters. Walters price is hard to go past. But I think Heeney is a top 6 forward, Walters is a maybe top 6. Thoughts?
