PODCAST: SICK AS DOGS

Filed in Supercoach by on 21/05/2018 • views: 5935

We are sick. Absolutely sick as dogs.

Patch is sniffling his way through this week’s podcast, surrounded by a bed of tissues deep in the wilds of Kazakhstan, or Mongolia, or Bolivia, or wherever the hell he is.

Lekdog is sick and tired of his time being shit. Round after round, week after week, it keeps kicking him again and again. He’s sick of Michael Hibberd, of Jack Billings, of injury news, of… well, you get the drift.

Patch and Lek are both sick as dogs, but not as sick as Jackson Macrae. Jack is – as the kids say these days – “fully sick”. Or maybe it’s spelt “fully siq”.

I don’t know. We are not “hip”, or “with it”.

What we are “with” is Supercoach. So – we talk about whether to downgrade or to upgrade, to wait to pounce next week, and value! VALUE, community! Don’t be tempted by the bright lights, head back into the bargain basement bin and pull out some gems.

So, settle down, #PutOutYourTissues for Patch and #PutOutYourRants for Lekdog and strap in for another installment of Young Men Shout At Cloud, or the Jock Reynolds podcast.

1. Murray says:

Which is the better trade
Murray and Kelly (geel) out
Phillips (stk) and darling in
Cash gain 142k

Or
Garlett (carl) and Kelly (Geel) out
Phillips (stk) and tom McDonald in
Cash gain 10k

Which is better ?

• Ahmad rubas says:

I like the second one could be useful swingset with sicily

• Patch says:

I like the first one – McDonald's had a reasonably soft run with St Kilda, Gold Coast and Carlton and I reckon he drops off. Darling's bye is also far nicer.

• Demonlover84 says:

First option. If you've kept Garlett until now you've either kept him for his swing or because of other issues, but he's not gonna make you much cash and Murray will lose you cash with his high b/e. Darling is killing it and will continue to average 100+. Tmac will score well and if you want him for his swing, why not Murray and Kelly for Phillips and Tmac? That would make you more cash too. I'd go Darling though.

• Murray says:

Thanks DL84 would have about 260k with your proposal and I would be able to upgrade to darling next week. Pros and cons but I like tmacs dpp and darling is expensive but probably more likely to score heavily. Both have low be's. Decisions decisions?

• Roger Cottrell says:

I'd like to put TMac in but already 5 Melb players.

2. Patch says:

ALSO: checking in with you, community.

1) How's your season going?
2) Who's gone well and who… well, hasn't
3) Do you like the podcasts? Like, do you -like- like them? What do we need to do more of? Less of? (i.e. more segments?)
4) The rest of the site – whadda we need more or less of?

Just touching base because you lot are the lifeblood of this place and we wanna know what floats your goat/boat/etc.

None of us get anywhere near as much time as we'd like to get into the comments, either, so shoutout to all of you that do get into the comments and help each other out. You're all the best xoxo

• Ahmad rubas says:

Ranked 52k so not going good.
Cripps has been my favourite pick so far other players have done better but almost everyone has Gawn Fyfe etc and love Cripps as a Carlton fan. Hibberd Goldstein petracca billings have been bad but by far most annoying is holding onto josh Kelly.
absolutely love the podcasts and I can't wait to listen to this one keep up the good work guys

• fcabel says:

I really enjoyed Lek yelling at Hibberd.

• Russty_ says:

Yeah, they should do more of that…like Dunstall roasting the dribble kickers haha

• TBone_9 says:

Season is off to a decent start Patchy, sitting at around 4k overall.

Billings was the biggest waste of space in my squad for 7 rounds but glad he’s just a bad dream now

Loving the pods, you blokes get more and more confident every week. Just keep doing what you’re doing, we all support the effort and hard work boys πŸ™‚

• Russty_ says:

Hey Patchy McPatchface, season's going ok I guess, ranked in the top 3% of un-nameable unknowable faces.
Danger, Titch..somewhat and Dusty haven't gone that well for me, they've lost buttloads of cash!….Gawny, Cam Ellis Yoelman, Nank, Oliver, Siciflog, Fyfey have gone ok for me.
I like the Podcasts…they're something to look forward to for the week, and get better each week, we need less arguments and stuff I guess, but there's no way of stopping people disagreeing over the interwebs. It's just the way it is.
I like it here, and will continue to come back until someone kicks me out again…lol

• Steeeve says:

1. Sitting around 3500 after slipping badly the past couple of rounds.
2. My worst moves have been starting Petracca; starting Goldstein; starting Hibberd then trading him to Bonner; bringing in Charlie Curnow.
3. Pods are good and getting better all the time, much appreciated!
4. Only improvements I'd like would be for certain users to stop with the drama in the comments, and for the mobile site to show the latest articles at the top (sometimes I refresh and it still doesn't work). All segments are great.

• Russty_ says:

Still ranked ok Steeeeeve…1500 better than me, Hopefully you've since gotten rid of Petracca, Goldy, Hibberd, Bonner and Curnow.

• Steeeve says:

I have Petracca, Goldy and Curnow still. Have opted to ride them and hope for a turnaround. No point jumping off when their price is low. Curnow averaged 90 for the run home last year so fingers crossed. Goldy showed a bit finally on the weekend. Petracca can hopefully gain some cash back now he is no longer fingered.

• Da_Boysh says:

Hey Patch
Season is good ranked 326th overall with 19 trades and 110k in the bank. Probably out of striking distance for the 50k but it is a long season so who knows!
Love the podcasts I frantically refresh my podcast list most of Monday trying to see when it has been uploaded. only suggestion might be to compare some more players? I say that not having listened to this one yet. Sometimes I feel like there could be a touch more discussion particularly with POD premiums but maybe thats just me.
The site is great all the segments are extremely helpful and much appreciated. Some bickering in the comments which is lame but to be expected. People are too sensitive and arrogant all at once.

Thanks to you and Lek for the podcasts keep it up!

• Da_Boysh says:

oh,

I do not really think I have made any great picks.. my only real PODs to start were Hurley and Merrett and we both know what has happened with those two.

My biggest stuff up this season was starting McCartin and JOM.. and letting my friend talk me out of Macrae to start.. i went with Merrett instead… oh boy I would be like top 50 if I had done that

• Rivo says:

Slipped out of the top 5000 after 3 awful weeks. Don’t have Macrae and it’s killing me.

Gone well – Cogs, Gawn, Grundy, Laird.
Gone crap – Hibberd, Petracca, Zerrett.

Like the PODS. Improving every week! Guests are good.
Enjoy the Cheat Sheets and dry humour. Keep it going!

• The Ranger says:

1. Down in the 13K range but up from 64K after starting with the wrong team
2. Starting Danger, Kreuzer, Kelly and Crouch didn't work out as well as I thought it would. Macrae and McLean did tho.
3. The pods are getting better all the time. Lek Yells At… could be an ongoing thang.
4. We all get bored of the egotists who clog up the threads with their inane drivel so a bit more use of the "this comment has been deleted by the administrator" button would be good.

• neil demons delight says:

that's all it needs Ranger. The site is too good for that dribble ;The lads have done incredibly well under the circumstances just needs more censoring please boys cheers NDD

• Wok says:

I brang in Coniglio instead of Mccrae like 4 weeks ago because I thought they would average the same till seasons end and Coniglio was cheaperπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and I started with Goldstein over Grundy because Grundy burnt me last year. I’m fluctuating around the 5000-7000 mark. But if I had of got those two right I’d be right up there πŸ™

• Steeeve says:

Grundy couldn't score with Cox in the team last year. You made a smart choice it just didn't work out.

• Pitch72 says:

1) crap 32000ish overall
2) Kicking myself over picking Petracca and Christiansen, not much upside to report.
3) Improving all the time, keep it up lads!
4) The site is fine, getting sick of a couple of bullies who 'know it all', show some leadership fellas and give em the boot!, they don't represent what this site is all about.

• Sc_Wow says:

Podcasts are really coming together well done guys. You’ve got me by 3 points now patch! Hopefully I can get my guys back on the park soon, feeling good for my bye structure though which no doubt will catch a few.
Keep up the good work boys

• Danners says:

Not gonna lie, been a terrible start to the season Patch, 14k atm, hoping for a big push soon.
Whats gone well: Not a lot, selection of Cripps and Lloyd and swapping Dahl for McLean early
What hasn't gone well: Goldy, Hibberd, Zerrett, probably more that I have missed
Podcasts are improving. It is hard to get up to the level of Jock and co, I appreciated the work that you guys put in though and trying to tie it in with your daily lives.
Content has been great, with study commitments haven't been able to interact on the website that much, but the articles have been great.
Hope all is well for you

• GreendaleFC says:

Poor start to the season, ranked at about 10000. Feels good to finally get rid of Billings, but I'm worried that he's going to magically become good again and double burn me.
Podcasts are going well and you guys seem more comfortable with them than at the start of the year.

• SamuraiPizzaCat says:

1) OK, have had my fair share of issues so rank isn't the best, ranked 23k.
2) My best starting picks would have to be Cripps, Gawn, Titch, Laird, Heeney and started the good rookies. Worst starting picks Hibberd, Petracca, Kreuzer (injury), Merrett (concussion but still held him). Regret not starting Simpson, Coniglio and Sicily who I was thinking about but didn't start.
3) Podcasts are good I listen every week. Mostly I like hearing advice on who to trade in or out.
4) Rest of the site I don't think anything really needs to change, you guys do a great job

• hedski says:

Hey Patch.
1) Ranked at a miserable 30k but was 60k after round 4 so heading the right way.
2) Starting Sicily, Cripps and Heeney = good.
Starting Danger didn't pan out as expected, but the killers were starting Kreuz, J.Kelly, Crouch and Greene, also bringing in Ryan (WC) then trading him out next week.
Panicked mid round one when Kreuz got injured first game so traded in Cox for cover only for him to get suspended and had to burn a trade to get English = bad.
Also paying top $ for Titch and Dusty before their slumps hurt.
BILLINGS = SHIT!!!! (finally cut him last round).
3) Pods getting better every week <img draggable="false" class="emoji" alt="πŸ‘" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/2.4/svg/1f44d.svg">.
4) Articles are sweet / bickering is not.
Cheers bud, keep the ranking up, bout to crack a can and have a listen. <img draggable="false" class="emoji" alt="🍻" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/2.4/svg/1f37b.svg">

• TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Patchy boy you are kicking some serious a$$!!
Macrae all the way for you wish i had taken the plunge.
Purple pods were good early in ryan and walters.
Went trigga happy on billings early trade to mclean for change, kruuz groin to nic nat $ saved did one of my best trades brayshaw to tarranto.
Kelly to dusty badddd should have gone macrae
Started all the right rooks so plenty of moo
Naughton to sicily also was a beaut.

Was around 500 a couple of weeks ago but a nic nat donut and then crouch mia after just bringing him in meant dropped a few hundred spots.
Still top 1000 so happy pappy. <img draggable="false" class="emoji" alt="πŸ€—" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/2.4/svg/1f917.svg">

Same as the other regs a bit less "neg" be nice

• Swans2012 says:

Seems a few recurring themes in these comments but I'm similar to a lot of above,
1.Hovering 5kish rank, not putrid, not brilliant.
2.Positives are mostly not starting danger or dusty or Bonner.
Negatives starting zerret and Whitfield
3.Pods are great keep up the good work
4.Less drama and niggle in the comments would be nice as per above,

• JEL says:

Ranked about the 7000 mark, scored a 2209 last week and went backwards by 250 places!!
Hibberd, Petracca & Zerret have been disappointing, but I don't think I'm alone there.
Happy with Nank as R2, also glad Fyfe is back to his old self.
Enjoying the Podcasts, glad your doing your own thing and not trying to clone the old format.

• Randomcliche2 says:

1. Poorly just in top 10% but not so far away from some private comps that things are bad.
2. a) Gone well: not many given I started with 18 non-rookies: Lloyd, Cripps, rookies, like Ronke, not
starting unproven (multi year) up and coming premos (Merritt, Crouch, Kelly (GSW)).
2. b) Gone bad/underperformed: JJ, Savage, Armitage, Kreuz*, Lids*, Petracca, Walters, Gray*
*injury
3. Pods are getting better, to the point of being pretty solid this week, I'd love a segment with a call in. Extra voices are good. Special segment. 'Lekdog's bark' – go mad at someone 'Hibbard'.
4. A couple of things I've like from other sites which are not being replicated this season include top 100/1000 ownership thread and an analysis of scores against over 125 by team.
Cheers

• TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

That idea is [email protected]!

Could start with a deep bark "woof woof" then a snarl – welcome to lekdogs bark …
Then off you go.

Simliar to what they did with higgos quantum mechanics.

Cracking idea for a new segment.

Patch, Lek get it done lads.

10 thumbs up. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ etc

• Randomcliche2 says:

Thanks Trigga πŸ–’πŸ–’ intro like that exactly what I was thinking πŸ–’πŸ–’

• T.Zantuck says:

Hey guys, first time long time. Ranked 1000. Not having a captain score over 95 first 5 weeks hurt me big time. Even with loophole. I was far too greedy!
Question – can someone please explain how the swingset works?? I see comments every week about dpp and I don't get it. For example this week people are saying trade Murray, use swing, and get Phillips. Yet they are both only allocated to one position. How does this work? Thanks legends.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Hey Zantuck, they probably have Finlayson, like I do, dpp is short for dual position player, you can swing Finlayson between defence and mids. So if you were trading Murray out and you had Finlayson in the mids, you trade out Murray, swing Finlayson to defence, then there is a opening in the mids to trade in Phillips. Hope that helps you out since it is very handy at times and why I am considering keeping Finlayson for now.

• Sandyf62 says:

John explained it fairly well, but I thought I would add that you might have a few dpp players in your team, McLean, Heeney, Spargo who I have in my fwds are Mid/fwd, so can also be played in the mids if needed. I also have Finlayson def/mid who I currently have in defence, but I could swing into the mids if I needed to.

• T.Zantuck says:

Thanks heaps to you both! It made me check around and I see now that if you go to the "trading out" section it highlights the dpp and there's the magic little "s". I've always just stayed on the "trading in" part.

Great advice. Thanks team!

• JohnDJ59 says:

No worries TZ, glad I/we could help, I should have mentioned the little ''s'' at the top of the dpp players when trading out, it would have made it even easier for you.

• Randomcliche2 says:

I'd also add that let's say you get to 23 premiums and with a swing set across each line you can cover one out on any line.

• Boris_Baconbeer says:

86k week 2 now 2450 πŸ˜€

• WillHunters says:

I've been a fence sitter over the years love the old jock croch Higgo podcasts. But you 2 have done a great job getting things going again. Haven't missed a podcast for 4 years. Keep em coming patch and Lek. My support all the way

• Mark says:

Pretty average so far. Ranked 264:(

3. KingWinter7 says:

Is Crouch a good option for Kelly or is his hamstring gonna be a pain from now on?????

• Rocksta_ says:

I’d stay away mate. Hammies are a bitch to get over.

• JugHead says:

Exactly why Im ticked off bringing Crouch and Hurley in the last frw weeks

• Whatyasmokin says:

Can't do it till he proves himself, which was why I was very hesitant to call him top ten even though he's highly capable.

4. Whats up Doc? says:

Jeremy Howe or Luke Ryan for my last defensive upgrade?
Cheers community

5. Russty_ says:

Howe, has more runs on the board and takes way more spectacular marks πŸ™‚

6. Russty_ says:

Hi lads..wondering what you think about completing your backline before your mids or fwd line?, I've always struggled with my backline in the past so it kinda feels good. Still have 4 or 5 to go on other lines.

• TBone_9 says:

Hey Russty, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that! (As long as T. Kelly is your last mid rookie) it’s all about finding the best prices at the same time your rooks are ready to cull. Good deals to be had on defenders still, Ryan, Lloyd, Simmo and Howe still fairly well priced

• Russty_ says:

Cheers TBone, I have Laird, Yeo, Sicily, Howe, Mcdonald, Ryan with Naughton and Duman on the bench.
Kelly definitely my last Rookie traded out if not keeping. πŸ™‚ Lloyd tempting but still struggling to fill my round 14 team.

• Lazza says:

Copy Cat … well not yet … but will be … guess that makes me the copy cat … copy cat..

• Russty_ says:

Great minds think alike Larry! πŸ™‚ Copycat from Ballarat.

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Thinking of grabbing McDonald this week Russty! Really nice pod. He owned a few years ago in the backline. Bit of a role change now and doing very well. Just worry about the tougher teams they come up against.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Tmac would make a great POD 66, as well as a handy swing, I just don't have the nerve to pick him.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Hey Russty I don't have a problem with it, I already know who I will be having in defence, Laird, Yeo, Lloyd, Simmo, Hurley, Ryan. Plus it gives you time to work out who you want for your last one or two mid places and the fwds as usual are up in the air. Having said that, not sure it really matters which line, more the case of getting the players as they come along, then you just have to decide which ones to get first. I will be looking at Yeo or Buddy next week, so def v fwd.

• FFC says:

I'm thinking same thing – Backline is looking more easier to complete…feel a lot more uncertain about mids and fwds, hence delaying decisions on them.

• TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Thats where all the fat calves are mate that are juicy and due a cull.

1 maybe 2 to go for me. Hurley
after his bye.

• NoLanguage says:

I think its fine Russty. Personally I will upgrade my mids and forwards first but in seasons past its been the backs, I went heavy up FWD due to lack of rooks (thank christ for Fritsch)

7. TommyC99 says:

In a bit of a predicament community. Got Murray and findlayson to cull but no real rookies to downgrade too (already got Phillips) and can’t upgrade as only got 28k. Should I just hold for a week?

• Rocksta_ says:

Murray to Ridley ( had 25 touches in his first game). That will leave you with around $228 K to upgrade Finlayson to any defender you like. Yes, best to wait for Ridley’s second game but sometimes you need to take risks in this game. If the boy is good enough to get it 25 times in his first game and against Geelong, I reckon he’s worth the punt.

• Russty_ says:

Ridley was very good, and should get a second game with Hurley out for another week, hopefully he can keep his spot after that and make bumloads of cash.

• Rocksta_ says:

Thoughts on Phillips Russty? It’s either Phillips or Ridley for me this week ( logic suggests Phillips this week and Ridley next week if he retains his spot).

• Russty_ says:

I liked him less after he scored 49 in his second game, at least with Phillips you know he'll make 57k next week, but I don't rate the Saints very highly mate or their coach, plus Ridley is more round 14 bye friendly.

• Russty_ says:

Also Rocksta, if you're considering Ridley, maybe consider Tim Smith as well?..he did pretty well.

• Russty_ says:

You could just hold Tommy…I held last week and it wasn't the end of the world, still won 7 out of 10 league games πŸ™‚

• NoLanguage says:

I'm leaning towards Finlayson or Richards to Ridley this week Tommy, he looked really good. I would probably pull the trigger depending on how many trades you got and how close to full premo you are

8. RonkeyDonkey says:

The scores were rigged this week and Ronke was given a 71 when he should of been given a 135.5 ! Champion Data better get their act together and stop rigging the scoring or I'll be very angry!! I can't believe on the nerve of the guy in the controls room in CD crane who is manipulating the scoring so that king Ronke is unrewarded! boy oh boy I'm mad!

9. The Ranger says:

English – Olango and T.Kelly – Dusty.
Do it now or hold off for a week or two?

• SamuraiPizzaCat says:

English could be useful cover through the byes, especially round 13 when both Gawn and Grundy are out.
Definitely worth grabbing Dusty now though.

• The Ranger says:

Nothernsoul74 has just given us the inside word that he's out injured.
Think I'm gonna pull the trigger.

• DavidC says:

Out for a month. Trade him.

10. Ahmad rubas says:

Imo no way curnow goes to kelly. Curnow shut down Ablett last year at Metricon and he did alright against danger last year he will go to one of the big 3 in Geelong

11. smart as s says:

last mid spot,

A Macrae or
B Danger

Basically, Will macrae keep going or will danger get back to beast mode?

12. Noah says:

Good defensive upgrades already got simpson, yeo, laird, sicily?

• nankthetank says:

Savage could be a shout if you're willing to risk being frustrated occasionally

• Dice_real says:

I like Luke Ryan's game at the minute

• The Ranger says:

Ryan, Lloyd, TMac or wait a bit and get Hurley

• neil demons delight says:

That's a tough one Ranger Depends on your byes but Lloyd makes most appeal to me but cant go wrong with any cheers NDD

• theRealPod says:

Howe is next best, or wait for Hurley

13. Dave says:

DEF: Laird, Yeo, Sicily, simpson, Doedee, murray ( naugaton, murphy)

MID: Fyfe, Cripps, mitchell, crouch, Martin, Congilio, Kelly, Coffield( Holman, Barry, Brodie)

RUCK : Gawn, Nic Nat( Cameron)

FORWARD: Mclean, heeney, Smith, Fritsch, Spargo, Keefe. (Crowden, Ahern)

17 TRADES Left 193k in the bank
need help

• taylor says:

murry out swing the dpp and get Phillips
then Fritsch to tmac or darling?

14. Jack says:

Plan was to go Cummings but he doesn't look up to it. Should I go early on; Ridley or Rice?

• Yeahnahyeah says:

Cumming is a gun, can definitely see him turning it around against the bombers this week. If I were the choose between Ridley or Rice id go Rice, mainly due to imo having better job security, Woosha has shown he likes to chop and change the young kids every couple of games so can't really see Ridley playing more than 4-5 games in a row

15. Rivo says:

Considering a crazy trade this week after falling out of the top 5000. Not having Macrae is really hurting. 20 trades & $48k.

Option 1. Hibberd & T.Kelly to Macrae & Ridley;
Option 2. Murray & Naughton to Lloyd & Ridley.

Under option 1, Ridley is on field, while Macrae replaces M8. Macrae has the Pies Friday night, very tempting VC option. Under Option 2, Ridley goes to bench cover.

should i get Macrae in mid for kelly or get another forward or defender premium
(will prob bring in fillips as a downgrade to get another premium)

• Rivo says:

Who is your second trade to afford Macrae?

• taylor says:

murry out swing the dpp and get Phillips

or fritsch out swing dpp and get Phillips

either one depending if yeo plays this week

17. taylor says:

do i get macrae or danger in the mid?

18. taylor says:

if i have 4 premo defenders
5 premo mids and kelly and z merret
5 premo defenders who do i get in?

should i look at macrae for kelly
or go downgrade up grade and get darling and phillips for murry swing dpp and fritsch

19. Finnius says:

I'm bringing in Buddy this week. BE of 136 so may not quite hit it this week, but looking at his draw in the weeks coming up to the bye he is just irresistible. He plays Brisbane, Carlton and St Kilda (three bottom four sides who I think Sydney will thrash) before West Coast, who he hit 180 against in rd 1. I expect at least a couple of big bags from the GOAT over the next couple of weeks. In regards to the rd 14 bye, I have decided to simply throw it as I am playing for league this year. Will happily win 2/3 and just cop the loss in rd 14.

• Derek says:

Andrews is a very good defender. Will make it hard for Buddy. Cash is important any savings is good

• NoLanguage says:

The GOAT?? Haha no. But good option to trade him in

20. Sellars1226 says:

Got a lot of option this week for my trades, here are the options

Murray and Kelly – Ridley and Cripp

Murray and Kelly – Ridley and Mclean

Murray and Kelly – RIdley and Dusty

Murray and Cole – Ridley and Mcdonald

21. KSinny says:

Henry to Phillip's via DPP and Kelly to Macrae, atm cant take myself to not have Macrae in my team (especially vs Collingwood this week) or I can go Dangerfield and save $125k.

• The Ranger says:

You need to look at the rest of your team and work out how you're going to find the funds to get to full premo Skinny.
Personally I don't see how anyone can afford to spend $727K on a player at this stage of the season.

• Da_Boysh says:

going macrae is not the answer he is unlikely to sit above 700k all season.. pick him up when he drops

22. Derek says:

It wasn’t that long ago that TMitch was a Must Have. Started the year with 3 massive 150+ scores and anyone who didn’t have him was doomed. He was a tick under $700k and people were getting him in as if money was no problem.

Fast forward a month, not having TMitch wasn’t the dooms-day every one thought it would be, he is $578k and people can get him cheaper than his starting price.

Now the must-have-or-dooms-day player is Macrae. $727k is a lot of k’s.

• Dice_real says:

Yep way too much coin Derek!

• The_Blacksheep says:

Agreed Derek. No way am i gonna pay 727k for him. He wont maintain that price and i feel the same can be said for Darling. He is a key fwd having a break out year. A 50-70 point game is just around the corner. I know Franklin isnt bye friendly but i would be trading him in before Darling.

• DavidSA says:

His BE will be well over 200 at some stage r12-14 but it's a pain cause season is nearly over by the time he will bottom out

23. neil demons delight says:

Yes way too dear. After my inglorious 3 defeats at your hands I culled Hibberd and Shaw who I chose instead of Macrae way back. I could have Macrae and Ridley with zero bank but your correct Derek. I went with Darling instead which gets me SPP next week. Simple really Macrae or Darling and SPP. cheers mate NDD

• Derek says:

your getting Sam Power-Pepper?

• neil demons delight says:

not yet but I am thinking of a motlop type M9 Not too early to think about cover

• Derek says:

there is only one Motlop

• Derek says:

Dalhaus might be your new Motlop, or even the Chad. they are both DPP and might be under $400k in a few weeks.

Edwards is another one with DPP who you will get fairly cheap. he had a big finish last year.

• neil harley davidson says:

what do you think of BOAK compared to SPP Derek I have enough to go spp plus 100k or Boak plus zero dpp interesting

• TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Up for a harley ride?

• neil harley davidson says:

Been thinking that .Plenty of company down Phillip Island.

• Da_Boysh says:

do yuo think Shaw should be culled? maybe i can move him to Lloyd?

24. Crowboy94 says:

Reports are that Yeo will miss this week….. SC gods why!!

• Sc_Wow says:

Hopefully just the one, at least most have him.
I’ve only seen that he’s 50/50 but I’m preparing to sit him along side Hurley on the bench

• Crowboy94 says:

I've read that he probably wont. But I can swing Sicily back and play my fwd rookies If needed

• taylor says:

bummer when you have hurley and yeo like me

• Derek says:

hopefully it is just like pendles. ok to miss one week to make sure it is ok for rest of season.

• Sc_Wow says:

Any trades on the cards this week Derek?

• Derek says:

still have 21 trades, so i should start using them.

i need cash to get anywhere near a full premium team. I'll have a look at the bubble boys who get named this week and see who i can trade down to. Phillips might be the only one this week.

Round 11, i'll be going Lycett >> Ryder. Will only need $90k to do that trade. Other trade will be a bubble boy.

Round 12, hopefully a double downgrade to bubble boys.

Round 13, looking to pick up Simpson coming off his bye. Pretty boring but he does have a great run home and should get him for around $470k. Also looking to pick up JJK after his bye if he is still under $380k, that should be enough excitement to counter Simpson.

Walters under $390k in a couple of weeks is outstanding value, but my team is already full of Round 14 bye players so i'll have to wait until round 15 to get him and/or Buddy.

• Sc_Wow says:

Looks good, eying off any port players? I’ve picked up some players for value as of late so thinking rocky for byes and then m9. Cog is gone in rd13 for Bont most likely. And should have enough cash to pick up one more mid premo.

25. Luke says:

I'm ranked 666, my advice is to cease trading until after the byes now. I repeat, hold your fire

• theRealPod says:

That's a negative Luke, I repeat, can not hold

• Luke says:

Go for it RealPod….. If there was a trading Olympics, I'd be wearing the green and gold!!

• The Ranger says:

That WAS the plan Luke but now TKelly to Dusty is looking real tempting…

• KSinny says:

Looks like Satan's after to you judging by your rank

26. Lazza says:

Need to get a premo into your MIDs ASAP..
Trade Brayshaw and one of your DEF rookies.. might need to go early on Heron $102k to max your spend for the MID

27. 3lostboys says:

I'm kind of stuck with what to do this week with byes coming up! Any help is appreciated.

Rank: 997
$$: 50k
16 trades

DEF: Laird, Yeo, Lloyd, Witherden, Doedee, Murray (coffield, o'connor)
MID: Fyfe, Danger, Cripps, Titch, Cogs, Gibbs, Kelly, banfield (Brayshaw, Crowden, Barry)
RUC: Gawn, Grundy (mcierney)
FWD: Mclean, Gray, Sicily, Heeney, Fritsch, Guelfi (Waterman, Spargo)

28. Stirlsy says:

Congrats on the rank Patch yr killing it.
Me I'm going backwards, in the 800s 2 weeks ago but 2 shockers has my rank now at 4817..
Trades this week 1 up 1 down for me Dusty just to cheap ill take him now and I'm jumping in early on Ridley.

• INPieman says:

I'm not going to be surprised if we find out Dusty is playing inured. From a Supercoach perspective of recent he's been rubbish. Better last week, but I'd wait. I liked the look of Isacc Cumming week 1 & decided to Cumm early (not the first time). Needed cash. Looks a shocking call. Waiting till a rook is named for the 3rd from here for sure. Suggest no one Cumms early in future

• theRealPod says:

I used to hold on but now pffft who cares.

• The Ranger says:

He's def looked a bit sore lately but I thought he looked like he was moving better against the Eagles

• Stirlsy says:

I'v heard some good reports on this kid Pieman from the Ess ppl, they don't expect him to leave the team any time soon.
It's not the Norm for me to go early on a rookie but the timing is right to do so now, I could of followed you last week with Cumming but kept the 3 rookie backs, 1 has to go this week Murray, Cumming didn't look that good last week and Phillips was the same ill take a punt on this kid.

29. TheGreatBozza says:

Any early trade ides for me this week? Rank = 3300, bank = $55,000, trades = 23

DEF: Laird, Savage, Sicily, Howe, Doedee, Finlayson (Richards, Murphy)
MID: Titch, Danger, Dusty, Pendles, Cripps, Fyfe, Cogs, Kelly (Spargo, Higgins, Holman)
R: Gawn, Grundy (Hayes)
FWD: McLean, Walters, Smith, Billings, Fritsch, Ronke (Giles-Langdon, English)

Early idea is Kelly > Phillips, then Finlayson up to a premo Defender

30. Da_Boysh says:

Hi All,

What do you think about Richards or Coffield > Ridley (I think I like to trade Richards because he doesnt have DPP)
Then ZGL up to Darling

Or

Kelly > Danger

Thanks

31. Northernsoul74 says:

Tim English injured so won’t be returning anytime soon.

32. Crowboy94 says:

Am I crazy considering Billings to Jed Anderson?
Anderson is now playing MID for North and is playing very well.

• Derek says:

The draft doctors were all over him a few weeks ago. Can’t fault his scores, but might have missed boat on him

33. Dunny says:

is Michael Walters worth looking at this week?

34. Hamstring Harry says:

My team of hamstring victims this year….

MID- Dangerfield, Ablett, Crouch, Shuey, De Goey, Adams, Shiels, Prestia, [Burgoyne, Grigg, Gibson]
RUCK- Roughead, Sam Reid (ok, hes a forward, but pinch hits in the ruck. [Wood. ditto Sam Reid]
FWD- Walker, Moore, Dickson, Betts, Puopolo, Wingard, [Kent, Deledio]

Apologies to all the other hamstrung forwards I couldn't fit in.

Bottom line….fitness staff…. GET YOUR SH*T TOGETHER!!!

35. DavidSA says:

36. Pattaya Pirates says:

1) How's your season going? – Good, was ranked number 1 after week 1. Now hovering around 500 overall.
2) Who's gone well and who… well, hasn't – McCrae VG, Billings poor
3) Do you like the podcasts? – Podcasts are great. Listen to it in Thailand every week. Though have to adjust volume due to shouting.

• JugHead says:

Come to think of it, I fiddle with the volume a lot, turning it down for Lek and up for Patch. But thats a first world problem. Meh.

37. Stacky23 says:

1.) How's the season going?, pretty average up until this week, 2479 this week helped me jump to the 5k mark
2) Who's gone well and who… well, hasn't , pretty much just starting Mclean, the injuries of libba, Duncan, Kreuzer after week 1 set me back and have had Josh Kelly sitting there for 6 weeks (pls be back), also starting parker over coniglio as but starting to redeem himself
3.) Discovering the podcasts have been great for my season, doing a real good job for the community

38. nc17 says:

Opt1 – T Kelly and J Henry out for E Phillips and T McLean
Opt 2 – T Kelly and J Billings (yes I still have him…) for E Phillips and P Dangerfield

Team as it stands
Def – Laird, Yeo, Sicily, Hurley, Doedee, Murphy (Cumming, Duman)
Mid – Fyfe, Cripps, Titch, Oliver, Martin, Zerrett, J Kelly, T Kelly (Spargo, Holman, Barry)
Ruck – Gawn, Naitanui (Cameron)
Fwd – Gray, Heeney, Smith, Fritsch, Billings, Guelfi (Henry, Fogarty)

19 Trades and $100 in the bank

39. TommyC99 says:

Thoughts on English – Olango and Findlayson/Murray up to a premo? Got Murray and Findlayson to deal with and with no good downgrade prospects this week besides Phillips, I need to think of other ways to move them on.

40. ByeByeRanking says:

For the first time ever I’m doing reasonably re overall rank – 1400ish. Usually I only play for leagues. So, because of the reasonable rank, I’m looking for bye advice. Yes, I know it’s late, but how many players would you want available each week? And how many of these would you like to have as premos?

• Ahmad rubas says:

Need 18 each bye round with at least 10 premos I think

• SC_Sixty6 says:

You want at least 15 premos mate! It's a good time to act NOW for byes. You get 3 trades prior to each bye round starting. Should help you upgrade a few.

• ByeByeRanking says:

Cheers. Looks like I’ll be 13, 15, 13 premos, though I could turn that second 13 into 15. Hopefully the rooks can help me through the first bye round.

41. Yeahnahyeah says:

What are people doing with O'Meara? Just flicked him to Danger and went Henry to Tim Smith

42. john says:

which do i get in

43. Dominic Haley says:

Thoughts on next move? 124k in the bank and 18 trades left. Dug myself a hole still having Hibberd and Billings but feel like I have to live with that now. Wouldn't mind getting Danger in but would have to upgrade Kelly most likely. Only 18 trades but at this stage feel like it's do or die.

$172k in the bank, 19 trades & ranked 4300

Options I'm considering:

1. Kelly to Danger and Richards to Ridley (Danger is ripe and Ridley looks the best of the DEF rooks, leaves me with $130k)
2. Finlayson to Howe and Barry to Phillips (leaves me with $40k)
3. Hibberd to Howe and Richards to Ridley (Hibberd is the only black hole in my team)

Leaning towards option 1 as my bye coverage is fairly spread, Danger I feel will explode from here on and Ridley looked great. Can anyone convince me otherwise????

Thanks heaps guys

• Dogsdik says:

Make it Dangertime. He’s ready, I reckon.

• NoLanguage says:

Just realised I can swing Spargo up FWD and trade Henry for Phillips. That and the Danger trade is looking juicy

45. NoLanguage says:

Anyone tempted to go Henry to McKernan?

46. John says:

• JohnDJ59 says:

Don't do It, I just traded him in and I've already had my fair share of injuries.

49. Noah says:

Jeremy Howe, Luke Ryan or Jake Lloyd. or others. Any suggestions appreictaec
Already have yeo,sicily,simpson,laird.

• JohnDJ59 says:

I like Lloyd, Ryan and Hurley after the byes, either of those three would work out. Looking like a lot of teams are going to have similar back lines.

50. JohnDJ59 says:

I've finally finished the cleanout from my team of spud and injured players, my only problem is I now have too many rookies on field and I'm down to 14 trades left, feel as though I will end up one short on each line, not counting the rucks, from being full premo at the end. I know I am way behind most other teams, but interested to know just how far, how is everyone else traveling.

• Drunken Dusty says:

14 trades after this week, have traded aggressive due to injuries and duds.
Need 3 premo defenders and to upgrade kelly to macrae.
should be full premo with 6-7 trades to spare.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Even though you are down to 14 like me, you are looking good Dusty.

• WTFoxtrot_58 says:

14 trades
Started zorko crouch kelly hibberd billings

Went zorko to dusty not jack
Traded paddy in at $660.

2 x def
1 x fwd

+ most probably trade kelly..geelong currently m8 at his bye

Dusty m6 and zerret m7

In a normal season would have had 2 to 3 scores over 2400 by now.
Have not cracked 2300 yet.
Overall from 65000 to about 17000 now.

• WTFoxtrot_58 says:

2x def
1xfwd to full premo..

• JohnDJ59 says:

That's a good position to be in Fox, you will have trades to spare, I was full premo at rd 16 last year and still had 6 trades left for finals, looks like you are on track for that or better.

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Got 17 trades left after punting Hibberd for Ryan and Kelly for Dustin Martin. My midfield is full premo, ruck full premo, Back needs 2 to get to full premo. And the forward line need 3 to be full premo. 5 from genuine full premo. Should be full premo by the end of the byes with hopefully 9-10 trades left.

• JohnDJ59 says:

You're in a very handy position there Top Hawk, 2 down back and 3 in the fwds seems to be the norm, full premo mid is good, most of the teams I've seen are still 1 or 2 off there. My defence needs 2-3 more premos depending on how Mills goes, 2 for the mids and 3 for the fwds, so still 7-8 to go, should be able to get five done by the end of the byes.

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Thanks John. I have been extremely fortunate with injuries. I have had to use no corrective trades there at this stage.(Touch wood) However, I started with 3 premo spuds. Petracca, Billings, and Hibberd. 2 are gone and I am hoping that the last prick Billings can lift going into the byes. Just look out for the best deals mate. Good luck.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Hey TopHawk I had the same three, Billings went rd4, Hibbo rd6, Tracca rd8, also traded out injured players Crouch, Ryan, Walters, Hurley, I could have kept the last two on the bench, but you never know if they are going to re-injure themselves. Now my team has a clean slate, so like you said I can start looking out for the best deals.

• Crowboy94 says:

Nope I finally cut billings this week. He wont come good until he gets dropped and St Kilda actually play well. Gone for a POD option Jed Anderson

• Lazza says:

I’m 800 points behind where I finished last year – inside 1% .. Started with Danger, Greene, Zorko, Hibberd, Franklin and Walters which meant I’ve only started 1 game with all my premos on the park … bunted Greene for The Hoff and Hibberd for Sicily a few rounds back.. kept Buddy and Walters and swapped Zorko for Zerrett… that last one is coming back to bite.. brought Macrae in for Finlayson and blue Garlett 2 rounds back.
Currently have 21 trades, will use 2 this week to leave me 5 premos short of – 2 x DEF, 1MID, 2 x FWD.

• Lazza says:

Forgot the RUC .. one and half premos .. I have Nank., will swap him out at his bye.

• JohnDJ59 says:

That's a great position to be in when you have only used that amount of trades Lazza.

• Ahmad rubas says:

19 trades left and 4 premos to go but that does include spuds like Goldstein hibberd petracca and billings

• Sandyf62 says:

All four should be gone from your team, why on earth would you start with Goldy when you could of had Gawn and Nank.

• Ahmad rubas says:

i think goldy was a decent pick seems like he was over his mental problems already have Gawn and didn't like nank as an option. Should of gone for stef or Nic nat over goldy I guess

• JohnDJ59 says:

I'm with Sandy on this Ahmad, the whole four of them need to be gone from your team, although Tracca still might come good.

• Ahmad rubas says:

I think petracca might be the worst out of all of them tbh. I'm working towards moving hibberd and petracca/billings as D7 F7 and will most likely trade Goldstein to Nic nat after the bye

• Sandyf62 says:

Hi John I'm down to 13 trades left after trading in Lloyd and Cripps this week. I have 3 to go in defence, 1 in the mids, 1 ruck if Nank drops off and 3 in the fwds, so 8 all up till full premo. So I would say I'm worse off than you and I can't see myself getting to full premo with only 13 trades left. Not really sure where they have all gone, but I seem to have spent most of them on no good players and injured ones. I might have to look at keeping the best rookies on def, mid , fwd to fill in the last spots.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Hey Sandy only one trade different to me and the amount of premos still needed are about the same, I think we will both be short at the end, we just need to keep that in mind when we are trading our rookies.

• Rocksta_ says:

Stop sideways trading!
17 trades left with 4 rookies left to upgrade. Will be full premo with mimimum 7 trades left ( allowing 2 trades for LTI’s)

• JohnDJ59 says:

Hey Rocksta, that's about where I was last year, a good position to be in, I wouldn't say I have been sideways trading as such.My spud trades have been Billings to Henry, Hibberd to Guelfi, Pertracca to Spargo, my injury trades were Crouch to Martin, Walters to Duman, Hurley to Lloyd. So the spud trades were to rookies and the injury trades were one rookie and two sideways, so that's not too bad. I could have kept them all I guess and saved trades, but I'm happy I pulled the trigger on the spud trades, the injury ones were a bit harder to do, but I didn't want them sitting on the pine for too long.

• Sc_Wow says:

3 off full premo, with another 2 in next week

So I've got non rookies. R Gray on bench. This week. Next week full premo with Christiansen f7. Petracca f6. Cheers http://imgur.com/iOXPNns http://imgur.com/gallery/7CXRrso
As you can not perfect.

51. Drunken Dusty says:

Finished mids (minus kelly upgrade) and forward line.

Need a D3 = Who should I take Yeo or Simpson + the cash? (Have Laird and Lloyd already)
How is Yeo going to pull up this week, is he already too expensive? (leave me with 2k cap)
Is Simpson a top 6 defender?

How long is Naughton out for?

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Yeo is only 50-50 to play against Hawthorn this week. Luke Ryan?

52. Nico says:

Murray to Heron and Barry to Buddy
Or
Barry to Ridley and Kelly to Danger

53. Steve says:

Hey community!

Which option is better?

OPTION 1: Trade Murrary and Tim Kelly for Dusty and Webster( Already have Hurley, Sicily, Simpson and laird) But leaves me with 12K

OPTION 2: Trade Tim Kelly and Brayshaw for MaCrae and Ed Phillips ( leaves me with 150k)

Let me know your thoughts community!

• Sam_01 says:

I’d probably jump on Phillips looks to be a good cash cow, jumping on dusty now is a real value trade also, looked mostly mid last game, even if he goes fwd vs saints he will kick a bag

• Dogsdik says:

I reckon paint it. Keep the bank going. Dusty’s B/E is 131, so he’s not going too far in price….if he hits it. Most likely drop some more on current form

54. Jordan says:

How long is Toby Greene out for? I’ve heard 1-2 weeks but looked on the afl injury list and it said 3 weeks. Not sure whether to hold or not..

• Sc_Wow says:

Ditch the flog. He will play one or two games before he punches someone. He’s a legit potato

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Dont bother with him Jordan. He is a walking injury and he will be frustrated thus likely to whack someone when he returns. Focus on guys like Darling, or Buddy.

55. Dan says:

Howe, Lloyd or Ryan?

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Ryan is great value still and has a low BE so will rise in price significantly in coming weeks. Lloyd is a gun but very expensive, and Howe is a decent choice as well. I am going Hibbo to Ryan this week. Nice switch. ($29K cost) If you have the cash, then grab Lloyd by all means. Cheers mate.

56. Niail says:

What is everyones thoughts on Webster?

• silkyayeh says:

rate

• HarryH says:

I got him in last week and comfortable with the decision. But there's obviously a risk factor as he's never been a consistent scorer. I'm taking the punt that this is his breakout year, similar to Kelly, Crouch and Duncan had last year. Sometimes you have to back guys in. Doesn't always work but he's had big raps on him previously and I'm sold for now

57. Will says:

Who to bring in to finish defence?

Currently Have – Laird, Simmo, Savage, Yeo and Sicily

• JohnDJ59 says:

Hi Will, you could get either Lloyd or Ryan this week before they rise in price or wait for Hurley after he comes back and drops 25k.

58. Corey says:

Cumming or Heron?
Heron gives me a loophole option in defence with Murray and Mirra

• seen_burns says:

Cumming showed us that he can score very low, Heron doesn't play this week so no certainty that he'll play again, Mirra also could be dropped so we need playing rookies.

59. DavidSA says:

K done 50 different trades this week and just cutting the mustard on Kelly to Philipps and Murray to Howe
Earns me 113k too

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Very nice David. I am now looking at going Hibberd to Lloyd (BE of 6!!) and just get that flog out of my side. Have had a gutful of him. Lloyd has the Lions too this week. Then Kelly straight up to Dusty leaving me with $15K. That just leaves me with one more flog called Jack Billings to deal with 17 trades left and 5 short of uber premo. Cheers mate.

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Why don't you seperate yourself and get some PODs in??? Otherwise your just following the pack that have had these blokes anyway. Gets quite boring if you have same team as the ppl ahead of you. Lloyd and Martin will be top 5 most traded in this week.

Martin is a pod by not having him.

• TOPHAWK1 says:

G'day 66. Trust me, the PODS are coming. Just not this week. Still removing unpleasant stenches from my side. Dusty comes in now as he is just $492K and is good old fashioned value for money. Keep you posted on my PODS moving forward. Cheers mate!

• TOPHAWK1 says:

How much cash would you have left in the warchest after those two trades?

60. BoltonsBlues says:

16 trades left, 338k in the bank, due to lack of trades im thinking Kelly becomes a keeper, Fisher and Fristch become weakish F5/6

Laird, Sicily, Lloyd, Ryan, Doedee, Finlayson (Mirra//Murphy)

Macrae, Fyfe, Cripps, Titch, Dusty, Cogs, Zerret, Kelly (Coffield, Barry, Phillps)

Gawn, NicNat

McLean, Gray, Heeney, Fisher, Fristch, Guelfi, (Sprago, Henry)

• Dogsdik says:

Hi Bolts. No guts no glory. I’m a big wrap for getting Danger in this week. Let the trades take care of themselves. Side looks pretty good btwπŸ‘πŸ»

• Sandyf62 says:

Kelly to Danger is the way to go if you don't already have him. Feel that this is the week to do it.

61. TommyC99 says:

Lloyd or Luke Ryan guys? Lloyd probably the More obvious choice but I like Ryan’s POD status, as well as the extra 60k I pocket. It’s also worth noting I have Mills also in my backline

62. Buddy says:

Thoughts on Howe?

• Sam_01 says:

Brought him in last week and I’m loving it, watch your bye structure if anything will finnish in the top 6-8 I’d say

63. Bells says:

Got to say Lek and Patch you guys are doing a great job on the podcasts.

Surely Lloyd gets tagged a whole bunch from here ? Potentially my biggest upgrade from having Coffield play this week – but I'm worried teams will put a lot of work into him now.

64. Sam_01 says:

Community thoughts on the following trades
Murray down to rice —> if he gets naked with carslile back in he will play till his bye for sure so it all comes down to this really
Tim kelly to Tom mitchell —> 60-70k left
I have mirra to play on field or rice for that matter in the backline
And it will allow me to trade fristch up to Walters next week
This will leave me with only mirra and Spargo to upgrade!
Am I going to earlynon these trades? Did like the idea of rocky but Murray being so crap I might aswell flick him

• Nathan says:

If he gets naked with Carlisle!! I didn’t realize rookies had such initiations

• Sandyf62 says:

Fristch is the last fwd rookie I would be trading at the moment. Could end up a good F6 or F7.

• Sam_01 says:

Hahah don’t know where that came from was meant to be “named”
While fristch is performing recently sandy I feel like he may have an average one this week, time will tell when he vsing a decent opposition. You can’t pass up on the value that Walters presents assuming people hit there expecteds I will be able to use my spare 60k to trade fristch to Walters. Gotta get rid of rookies eventually

• Sandyf62 says:

OK I just looked at their future projections and yes, next week the Fristch to Walters trade works.

65. Steeeve says:

Hoping yeo plays so I can downgrade Henry. I can imagine he might miss one. Then if Murphy or Mirra (likely Murphy) is dropped I'll have to trade Naughton to avoid a donut.

If I do have to trade Naughton does anyone know what Ridley's JS is like?

• Sandyf62 says:

Even though I don't trade in rookies after one game, if you end up having Naughton on the field then getting in Ridley wouldn't be such a bad idea. I intend to get Ridley next week if he has a ok game this weekend and gets picked for his third game next week.

66. Sandyf62 says:

A word of warning to anyone who has Cripps, I have traded him in on a dare from JohnDJ59, since he knows I don't like Cripps very much, I think it is really all about John not having him in his team and he wants me to stuff up Cripps scores or worse get him injured, since I seem to be having that type of luck.

• Ando says:

I don't wish injuries on anyone, so I just hope he spits out a plump turd.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Hi Sandy happy to see you took on your mission to destroy Cripps season. ha ha ha ha ha.

• Defying_Madness says:

I am bringing him in as well πŸ™‚

• Sandyf62 says:

Thought I better let you know DM, last week I brought in Yeo and Oliver, the week before that Mutch and Hurley the week before that, so you can see where this is going.

67. Ando says:

Does anyone else think that Macrae will go massive against Collingwood? The pies don't tag from what I've seen, but if they do, they do a terrible job.

Some mids' scores against the pies this year:
Titch (167)
Curnow (148)
Zorko (164)
Duncan (134) / Selwood (135)

So a few midfielders have gone big against Collingwood so far this season, and I can see Macrae doing the same. The best loophole option by far, but will Sidebottom go to him?

Thinking of doing the following trades:
Coniglio to Macrae & Hurley to Ridley

Risky I know but I don't want to fall further behind the pack.

• Sandyf62 says:

Risky yes, but if you feel you need Macrae and have the cash, go for it, I won't be since I am so far behind it doesn't matter and the price is just to much for my liking.

• Ando says:

Thanks for your input Sandy. Hopefully your luck turns around soon!

• Rocksta_ says:

One sideways trade(even though it seems like an upgrade), and one downgrade from a genuine premo keeper. Yes, Macrae will go big this week but don’t do it.

• Ando says:

Thanks for your input Rocksta. As soon as I get him in he'll throw up a turd anyway.

• DavidC says:

I wouldn't recommend trading out 2 premiums.

• Ando says:

Coniglio been rubbish past 4 weeks. Gotta know when to swing the axe.

68. Andy says:

Pick one.
Franklin, Howe, Lloyd and Ryan

• Sam_01 says:

Buddy

• Sandyf62 says:

Lloyd, you can get Buddy next week.

• JohnDJ59 says:

To hard to only pick one I'd go either Lloyd or Ryan this week and Buddy next week.

• Redpill5 says:

Howe. Lloyd had one massive score which pushed up his average. Not convinced Franklin won’t miss more games with his heel at some stage. Howe has been the most consistent, has produced 4 large 100s. Don’t know enough about Ryan.

69. Filth Wizard says:

Thoughts please guys on options.
1. Naitanui and Phillips for Jacobs and Brayshay (freo) $146k left.
2. Titch and Mckernon for Jacobs and T. Kelly $14k left.
3. Or Dusty instead of Titch and $100k left.
4. Grundy and Phillips for Jacobs and Brayshaw $12k left.

A lot of options but thinking Jacobs has to go and potentially some good rookies next week on the bubble

70. Thanks for posted this article. Very useful

Love the Hibberd rant Lekdog just like billings and jacobs have stunk up my side.Flicking Jacobs for Nic Nac but riding Billings all the way
in the dirt to see if i'm the only owner left at the last round.Great podcast fellas Lekdog was hilairious " if you were a computer " = gold

• Derek says:

Keep holding Billings. And then when he does finally have a good score we can say how clever we were to have held on to him. Even Zac Dawson scored 105 once.

72. john says:

who are the top 6 defenders at the moment?

• john says:

i need to get another player i have yeo, hurley, sicily and laird

• BoltonsBlues says:

Howe and Webster, I reckon Webster could be a trap though

• Doc says:

On average it is;

1. Laird
2. Sicily
3. TMac
4. Webster
5. Yeo
6. Lloyd

On total points it is;

1. Laird
2. Yeo
3. Lloyd
4. Simmo
5. Howe
6. Hurn

I have NicNat so unless he picks up significantly I'll be trying to do the same.

74. John says:

Any suggestions? got 18 trades and $66k. Was thinking of going banfield to Phillips and Kelly to Dangerfield.

DEF: Laird Yeo Hurley Simpson
Doedee Cole (Keefe Murphy)

MID: Fyfe Cripps Titch Martin Cogs Zorko T.Kelly Holman (Banfield Brayshaw Barry)

RUCK: Gawn Martin (Cameron)

FWD: McLean Sicily Heeney Menegola Fritsch Henry (Spargo Guelfi)

• JohnDJ59 says:

Good looking trades John, in fact your whole team is looking good.

75. taytay says:

im up to 15 trades and have 5 positions to fill is that good?

• Doc says:

Not really

• Derek says:

Better than 14 trades and 6 positions to fill

• Sam_01 says:

I’ll be 14 trades two to fill (Spargo and mirra) as of next week sitting 1799 dropped 700 spots after a sub par 2170

• JohnDJ59 says:

That's probably about the average for trades and maybe one ahead on the positions to fill. If it makes you feel any better I'm down to 14 trades and still have 7 rookies on field.

76. HELP says:

Any suggestions? got 17 trades and $193k.

DEF: Laird Yeo slicly Simpson, Doedee, Murray ( naughton, Murphy)

MID: Fyfe Cripps Titch Martin Cogs Crouch T.Kelly Holman (brodie coffield Barry)

RUCK: Gawn Nic nat (Cameron)

FWD: McLean Smith Heeney keefe Fritsch Spargo (Ahern Crowden)

• Sandyf62 says:

If you wanted to go early on Ridley and Smith you could trade out Naughton and Crowden. Or trade out any of your mid bench players for Phillips.

• seen_burns says:

Murray to Phillips by swapping Coffield back, and T.Kelly to Dangerfield

77. seen_burns says:

I want to trade out Billings this week, sick of him but there's really no value in trading him because he's bottomed out. Should I stick with him till his bye or just trade him now?

• Derek says:

I was going to go Fritsch to JJK after his r12 bye. Think it might be keep Fritsch and trade Billings

• seen_burns says:

Yeah I was hoping Billings would come good by now or at least score a few 80s but hasn't, and the Saints have a fairly hard run in the next few weeks.

• Russty_ says:

There's value in him if you trade him out to a decent Rookie…maybe Tim Smith next week.

78. TurtlesTerriers says:

Thinking of NOT trading this week. Foolish.????
16 trades and $90k in bank

Back – laird, Sicily, Hurley, simmo, savage, Doedee. Mirra & Murphy
Mids – Macrae, Fyfe, Cripps, Neale, Mitchell, McLean, Coniglio, Kelly. Coffield, Spargo & Phillips
Rucks – Nic Nat, Gawn. McInerney
Fads – Heeney smith, gray, Walters, Fritsch, Henry. Langdon & guelfi

Yep Henry has to go but not urgent so I figure I can wait a week or two for Ridley and smith to get 1 more game under belt. Keep up the great work community.

• JohnDJ59 says:

No need for you to trade with that team, you are doing the right thing.

• Sam_01 says:

If Ridley or rice gets named with Hurley/carsile coming back in you can feel safe bringing them in just an option I’ll be going early on one this week I think, rice most likely

• Defying_Madness says:

Henry down Kelly up to Danger, Oliver or Martin, or the other way around and get Menegola/Franklin. I would be going with either of those options.

79. JEL says:

Hibberd & Murray out
Lloyd & TMac in

My patience with Hibberd has finally run out.

80. Beaver says:

Looking to trade in Billings this week. Need to grab some valuable POD points and start to claw back my ranking. I'm 100% sold that these type of maneuvers make the difference between the wolves and the sheep.

• BlueBaggerJosh says:

for the sake of your sanity, wait a week and grab walters

• Richard says:

Absolute shark move that will pay dividends for you.Brilliant

• Russty_ says:

If that'll make StKilda play better I'm all for it, lock that solid 56 in there for next week πŸ™‚

• Derek says:

not bad… i guess we are all hoping he will bounce back, but Saints need to start winning games. that looks a long way off.

JJK is a few dollars more, but has a massive upside. we all know he had no pre-season and was going to take a few games to start scoring well. In the meantime, Darling has stepped up and taken all the glory. I still think at his best JJK is their go-to big man.

81. Marty says:

A mulling moment….is Harris Andrews a sneaky POD?

• Russty_ says:

Could be Marty, he might've affected Witherden's scores the last 3-4 weeks, risky but definitely a pod.

• Sam_01 says:

Quite a sneaky pod indeed ball is down there enough that’s for sure

• Derek says:

he is a gun. maybe too expensive for what he will score.

Buddy will have his hands full this week.

82. Mark says:

Any thoughts please?

Def: Laird, Yeo, Lloyd, Simpson, Doedee, Murray (Naughton, Keefe)
Mid: Fyfe, Cripps, Mitchell, Oliver, Treloar, Coniglio, Merrett, Rockliff (Brayshaw, Fogarty, Spargo)
Ruck: Gawn, Martin (McInerney)
Fwd: Gray, Heeney, Smith, Hogan, Fritsch, Ronke (Rioli, Waterman)

Have 1,700 in the bank. Thinking of going Waterman & Naughton > Webster & Phillips leaving me 45,800 for next week and 16 trades which is getting tight. Currently ranked 264

• Sam_01 says:

Yeah if you think Webster will be a top def bring him in! Nice job on the ranks by the way, Phillips is a must id say looks the goods on the ground not much good rookies coming through

83. Grant says:

HELP PLEASE>>>>>>Really want to bring in Dusty for Kelly this week, as he is just so cheap, and thinking Ridley for Naughton, but that leaves the backs and forwards light on, although would have all PREMIUMS in the middle…..

B – Laird, Yeo, Hibberd, Stewart, Murray, Cole – Naughton / Murphy
M – Fyfe, Neale, Mitchell, Pendlebury, Parker, Coniglio, Merrett, Kelly – Banfield / Spargo / Barry
R – Gawn, NicNat – Cameron
F – Sicily, Heeney, Smith, Petracca, Fritsch, Ronke – Delidio / Higgins

Thoughts please.
$201,000 in the bank / 20 trades left.

• redherringfc says:

You could trade one of your backs, Naughton or Murray. Swing Sicily down back, Spargo up front and then bring in Dusty.

But I don’t think that will help any, it will probably cause more problems. But try it out and see if anything looks good.

You’d probably still want to trade out Kelly, since he’s too much money on your bench and will lose money over the next 2 rounds.

• Grant says:

Thanks Red, very interesting, and I like your thinking. Always looking for different options.

Do I wait for Ridley, he looks solid, for another couple of weeks, or just upgrade Naughton to ?????

• Derek says:

Kelly to Dusty for only a few bucks. could be your best trade of the year.

• Grant says:

Thanks Derek, I think it's a no brainer, don't like to copy others and nullify, but this is just too easy.

Thoughts on defenders to bring in,,,,,,wait for Ridley?

• Derek says:

i think you might need Phillips this week. not many bubble boys available so gotta take them when they are there.

maybe Naughton to Phillips

• Grant says:

Cheers Derek…..

• Derek says:

naughton to phillips, via DPP, swing Sicily to DEF and Spargo to FWD.

• Grant says:

Derek, I just worked out that I can't do this…..Phillips is a mid…..I can switch Sicily to the backs and Spargo forward swapping with Higgins, but then Naughton is still a back….

….am I missing something….

• The Ranger says:

Hit the trade button on Naughton
Then hit the S to sub Sicily into defence which leaves a hole in your fwd line
Then hit the S to sub Spargo into your fwd line which leaves a hole in your mid line
Et voila! Trade in Mr.Ed.

• Grant says:

And just like that Mr.Ed has appeared in my side…..thanks for the assistance Ranger, clearly a novice at this and love the feedback from all on here…thanks again also to Derek…

• Derek says:

naughton is traded out. gone.

trade out Naughton. click the S on Sicily. click the S on Spargo. trade in Phillips as a MID. Complete the trade.

You end up with Sicily as a DEF, Spargo as a FWD and Phillips in the MID.
