THE STANDING ROOM Round 9

Filed in Supercoach by on 19/05/2018 • views: 6856

This is more of a sitting room this week.

We’re all sort of sat here, in stunned silence, unsure of what exactly is going on.

It’s a stunning performance from Meghan Markle on debut. She’s pulled out a 300 point debut, with seasoned veteran Queenie having a stinker and… I’ll just drop it. I don’t know anything about the royals, and the sooner we can elect Jack Macrae as our head of state the better.

I’m not just saying that because I picked him out at the start of the season as a top eight mid when most scoffed at me. I thought top eight was pushing it. I didn’t quite expect… well, this.

This will be a round of two scores: those who captained Macrae who are in line for a big one, and those who didn’t – and subsequently aren’t.

A lot of guns stinking it up this week – Gray, Coniglio, Menegola, Gablett, Fyfe – Nat mate, what’s going on here? – and, of course, it wouldn’t be a standing room without shouting at Jack Billings.

Even wunderkid Tim Kelly had a poor round, which is rough considering the performances he’s put in so far this season, but it stings a little bit more with Holman’s 120 on the bench, tantalisingly out of reach.

Aside from Holma, The Bud is back and he’s also BACK, Jake Lloyd is having a blinder, and so begins the two week contemplation of if we go to Rockliff.

How are you travelling, community?

1. Patch says:

Fyfe adding 40 in the last giving a bit of respectability to what could have been a very ugly score from the Great Man-Bunned One

2. Russty_ says:

Hey guys, travelling pretty well actually this week, some nice surprises in my scores this week, as it stands, predicted for over 2300 fingers crossed, maybe I'm doing something right after all?…hahah..and Fyfe ended up not terrible which is a bonus, even though his team was.

• HumanBob says:

Hey Russty I reckon 2300 might be a par score. I don't have Macrae or Danger and so far my top scorer is Bont with 120.
I'm currently 1145 from 12 played and my predicted score has dropped by 98 to 2422 (Max C), Considering I'm ranked outside the top 1500 I reckon 2300 might send you backwards mate.

• Russty_ says:

It all depends on where you are Bob, and how close you are to the top, the closer you are to the top, the harder it is to get closer to the top. I don't think I'll go backwards this week with 2300 +

• Patch says:

Could all go pear shaped today but reckon 2300 is looking to be par. On track for it myself with 1400 from 13 (Macrae C) but a 50 from Sicily or Oliver could throw it out of whack

• HumanBob says:

I started second guessing myself and took the C off Max to put it on Oliver and now Smartin is spudding. I'll struggle to 2300

• HumanBob says:

Sicily spudding as well. thank beer that I bought in Darling

3. Jack says:

I've been trying to think who D6 is for a while now but boy oh boy did they all stand up today.
Howe, Lloyd, Ryan…even Tuohy. Maybe 2 of these guys will be in top6
Fwiw I have top5 Laird, Yeo, Sicily, Simpson, Hurley

• HumanBob says:

I reckon Lloydy is the safest Jack, it's a shame that he had to get a monster, instead of another zero, before I could buy him. He'll be close to 500k now

• JugHead says:

He isnt fashionable this year, but I'd still throw Rance into that mix. Plenty will disagree.
Quietly scored over 90 5 times this year and hasn't dropped any absolute turds. Current price is 462k and ranked 8th best defender.
In 9-10% of teams and can ton up.

• JugHead says:

8th by total points. 12th by average.

• Jack says:

Agree Jughead, Rance should be in there too purely on the fact that he's been there before and has a big ceiling

• Randomcliche2 says:

Swing Sicily forward and take both Howe and Lloyd in that order. Not Tuohy, nor Savage who is on my team :-/. I agree with your other top 4.

• Whatyasmokin says:

Agree based on current stains in the forward line, Sicily needs to be there and load up the defense with the proven reliables.

• Finnius says:

So glad that I picked Jezza Howe at the start of the season. Top 6 defender last year and I was shocked that he had such a low ownership.

4. DANGER1VDUSTY2 says:

The StKilda football side suck footballs! They don't play football, they play handball – disgusting losing brand of footy!

5. JohnDJ59 says:

Going about the same as I have since round four, which is not very well, averaging 2,135 this year and that will be close to my weekends score, so far my best score is sitting on the bench and my best on field scores are by the two players I brought in this week Danger and Grundy, so looking at another wipeout of a weekend.

• Sandyf62 says:

I think most of us had Holman on the bench John, plus it's turning into a who has Macrae v who hasn't, the ones without him ie me will fall further behind.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Right on both counts Sandy, if we had still been able to have him as a fwd/mid like last year, he would have been my first picked in my fwds, but being only a mid, I had to pass, as I thought there were too many ahead of him as a pure midfielder. One of the few times I haven't had Holman on the field, but I brought Danger in this week, so that I would only have one rookie (Kelly) on field in the mids, bad timing on my part. Holman's 122 is still my best score at the moment, so annoying that I couldn't use it.

• Sandyf62 says:

Not as annoying as just bringing in Yeo to cover the loss of Hurley, who I have sitting on the bench, who I only brought in a few weeks back and I'm already low on trades due to trades to cover injures.

• JohnDJ59 says:

It all worked out in the end Sandy, Yeo scored you 113 pts, I will be getting him in for next weeks round, was thinking about him for this week, but decided I needed Danger first.

6. Stirlsy says:

Treloar the spud bring him in and sure enough he bombs.
I may as well have left JOM on the ground.
Or paid the extra 70k and taken Macrae, just paying 675k for a player in round 9 was thought to be a silly move now im felling a bit silly.

• Whatyasmokin says:

Agree, especially as treloar was highly likely to bleed with a 150be. Ah well live and learn.

• Patch says:

Of bloody course he has. Really rate him as a pick this year mate – he should reward you on the run home

7. nvol says:

If dusty doesn't score 120 this week I will be one depressed man.

8. PeteB says:

Ed Phillips disappointing..is he still a downgrade option ? Definitely time to move on Finlayson & Murray for one up and one down.

• DANGER1VDUSTY2 says:

Yes (he's ok but nothing special) I brought him in this week. Midfields are being upgraded now anyway so he will only be a M10 who earns cash averaging 60's. Holman earned a reprieve at M9 so I will keep him longer now and Naughton/Murray hit the chopping block this week.

• Whatyasmokin says:

68 Average is reasonable going into his third game. 49 is not the worst low a rookie has given this year and at 123k you cant expect any more than that realistically.

9. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Geez gettng smashed all kinds of silly this week.
Rooks on ground – killers
Traded out 200 points typical. Yeo better go huge 2mrw.
Once doodee made his break even Friday night knew i was in for a tough ride
There is always 2mrw. <img draggable="false" class="emoji" alt="😲" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/2.4/svg/1f632.svg">

10. Jeffrey says:

Who to Captain – Gawn or Titch?

11. Ahmad rubas says:

first bye next week hows everyone bye structure looking for main bye rounds

• Patch says:

Important question here Ahmed! I've been keeping half an eye on the byes with trade ins – Cripps and Yeo headlining that, so i'm looking okay! How about you?

• Ahmad rubas says:

well done on keeping half an eye on it cause i certainly havent been my current team has only 15 players for round 13 oops

12. Big L says:

Fyfe 5Rd Avg. 126 and toned up not to upset.

13. Big L says:

Kelly to rocky after ports bye

14. SC_Sixty6 says:

Each week I grow to hate what Macrae is doing to SC. Not even GOAT Ablett did this in his prime. 174 3 round avg IS ridiculous because he doesn't deserve it…..not just because I didn't start him but purely the stats don't stack up.

The people that have him move ahead especially with VC and that's what makes it disappointing.

Two weeks time the smart people will make Kelly into Rocky and the people that need to make up ground will trade pods in to make a surge for the top tier. It's a long season so I hope for the that the top 10 fall from grace hard to make it interesting.

Moral of the story it's about Macrae this year for who did and didn't start him or have him. Another top 100 finish for myself and wow coming up and the difference in points between top ten and us is Macrae. Yuck.

• Jack says:

A top 10 SC coach would have identified Macrae as a must have, not necessarily at the start of the year, but definitely after the Carlton game. Thats what separates the best from the next best it seems.

I didn't catch to much of the game Friday night but going of raw stats I'd say he had some game.
Has a player ever had 36 possessions and not a single clanger? 22 of his 36 were contested! Add to that 14 tackles. That is some game, you gave to admit

• Sc_Wow says:

Those stats are incorrect though. Definitely didn’t have 14 tackles and they were very kind not giving him a Clanger

• Help me says:

I watched the vast majority of this game and macrae was streets ahead of every one else on the ground… efficient, contested player who racks then up… doesn't kick backwards and tackles well
Im not surprised at his score and i certainly don't think he gets the love of cd as much as other players in the past
If danger or bomt had a game like that last yeah it would of been 200+

• Sc_Wow says:

You’re delusional mate. He’s averaging more than Gaz and Danger in their prime. To say he has just as much influence on games as those guys did is ridiculous

• Help me says:

I actually never said that mate, or maybe I wasn't clear enough in what I said… if danger was the one playing in that game and has those exact stats he woukd have scored 200+… we have all seen games were the numbers don't seem to add up but at the end of the day he was the most influential player on the ground and a night were there was points to go around
Am I for one second saying he is influencing games as much as ablett or danger in their prime, definitely not… I find it funny how you's are sour on 1 player who just so happens to be going apeshit in sc and you's don't have him
If danger does the same thing next week will you complain??? Highly unlikely

• Sc_Wow says:

So you’re saying Macrae got under scored?

What I’m saying is he’s averaging more than a prime gaz and danger and I don’t think it’s deserved.
We can agree to disagree

• Help me says:

It's quite clear what I'm saying mate…
I'm saying he was the best played on the ground and got a great score
You're saying he was over scored just like many in the past say bont and danger were… swings and round abouts

Do you think he will continue on with this scoring and finish with a higher average than gaz in his prime or danger last year??? I can't see it happening but if you do i suggest you find some coin for him otherwise the road to #1 has some serious traffic

• Boris_Baconbeer says:

Totally agree with you Help! I think they missed a few stats. He was everywhere in everything. It was his team mates that kept turning it over not McCrazy.

• Tibor says:

This is nothing we haven't seen before. He is a good player who has been a good player for awhile and he is having a hot streak. Could be for many reasons he is the form player of the comp. has tougher games coming up so should cool a bit but it's not as though he is some spud who is throwing up absurd scores. For those who picked him up from the start well done and for those who saw early signs and jumped on that's an even better pick. For those who had no clue and want to whinge suck it up……

• zerowins says:

Simple answer is get him in and apply for a job at champion data if you believe those stats are incorrect and could do a better job yourself

• Patch says:

We've seen Danger and Gaz go through periods where they've averaged 160-170 over three games, and they'vr both pulled in high 130s averages over a season.

Even Goddard and Deledio did back in the day.

He's had an easy run of games and conditions suited him to a T on Friday. As much as I hope he does, I don't think he keeps it up – as you've said, surely he can't.

I assume you won't look to bring him in unless his price drops?

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Missed the boat at 576k because I wanted to sure up my fwd line 3 weeks ago. Bugger. His scores help but in the past few weeks I've seen people captain macrae and my team is still outscoring them. So there's still hope.

• PizzaSafety says:

Do you believe in the 9/11 conspiracy as well? You do realise they provide these stats to sides live during games and afterwards for money and CD guys with binoculars monitor the stats in every match. They might make the odd error but to suggest bias purely on stats in silly. Bont bias makes sense because the stats weren't there but they were for Macrae.

• Errol says:

They can only give him points off how many stats the offical afl stats give hi

• BVB21 says:

I have to say I think this will be my last season of SuperCoach.

The scoring is ridiculous.

Macrae getting overscored.

Ronke 7 goals, 10 tackles , 120?

Even last night Webster was overscored massively.

Totally agree with wow too about what he said about macrae averaging more than GAJ and Dangerfield in their prime. It’s a joke.

Dangerfield is also getting massively overscored this year as well.

• Sc_Wow says:

Yep just looked at Webster’s stats, doesn’t add up does it?
Feel like there is some sort of extra attention being given to players ‘inform’

• DavidSA says:

I get annoyed with sc when this happens – example:
My Murray (DT 71 SC 56) vs My mates Geary (DT 63 SC 87)
Fun fact Geary (frees 0/4) "πŸ€”
This is my problem Also Jelwood getting outscored by Stringer lmfao

• JEL says:

Are you looking at the difference between SC & DT scoring?

Check out the rules section for each, SC has double the number of things it uses to award points, and a lot more options to score negative points.

Plus there are differences in the number of points awarded for the same thing, ie a goal in SC = 8pts while in DT = 6pts.
eg Geary in SC loses -4 pts for @ FA, while only -3 pts in DT.

There is no point comparing the 2 scores.

• JEL says:

Why are people so upset about Ronke's score?
7 goals = 56 points
10 tackles = 40 points

That's all he did on the night.
The only extras are 2 kicks, 2 handballs and 2 marks + 3 clangers.

Seams 120 is pretty reasonable.

• Whatyasmokin says:

They are upset with a scoring system they don't understand, happens year after year and people like me just bang my head against a wall.

• theRealPod says:

A good tradesman doesn't blame the tools if a mistake is made.

• Boris_Baconbeer says:

I cant help it. I have to ask. Was it bad luck not to have picked up McCrazy earlier or bad strategy?

• Northernsoul74 says:

He’s just not fashionable. I started Macrae and McLean. Why? I’m a massive Dogs fan and most Dogs fans would tell you how great Macrae has been looking for a number of seasons. Was clearly our best midfielder last season and you could see from JLT he was being given more and more responsibility in the middle for us. It’s no surprise to us he’s proven to be elite. Only knock on him is he doesn’t back himself in front of goal. Some very bitter sooks on here blaming CD etc.

• Sc_Wow says:

You’re missing the point. No doubt he’s a great player but he didn’t deserve 177, just as much as Webster didn’t deserve 100+. Cripps should be averaging 180 based on his performances if macrea got 177 for Friday night

• Patch says:

Hard to compare across games as they've all got to add up to 3300 points. If Macrae had that game when it was dry and everyone else was using it well, he scores maybe 140. In the wet with clangers everywhere and the game playing out like it did, I though Macrae deserved 160-odd.

It's an odd game when two players with the same stats can have 30-40 points different with nearly identical stats, but that's why I play Supercoach and not Fantasy or Dream Team – it rewards (in theory) the impact on the game more than the stats.

That said my god I'd love some more transparency from Champion Data to figure out how the numbers get to the final scores.

• Northernsoul74 says:

Very diplomatic Patch.

• Whatyasmokin says:

Not really diplomatic, more just has a huge understanding of how the system works, which is why he is one of the brilliant sources on this website πŸ˜‰

• Whatyasmokin says:

Well said Patch. The transparency has always been a bit of a pain, I remember when they changed the hit out scoring rules that was MASSIVE!

• JEL says:

I get the straight out scoring bit, but the points re balancing at the end of the game to make the total 3300 is a bit of Black Magic.

I understand why they do it, just doesn't help when trying to compare apples with apples.

It's the system they've always used though, so we should be used to it.

• PizzaSafety says:

That's just not true patch. Break down his score

25 contested possessions = 100 points
13 tackles = 52 points
2 Frees for = 8 points
2 Marks = 4 points
0 clangers = 0 points

= 164 points

Then he had 12 kicks and 24 handballs at 72%. According to AFL pro he had 8 effective kicks, which is worth 32, meaning he had another 18 effective handballs worth 27 points. So in theory he had another 59 points from effective disposals.

That is a total of at least 223 points in theory. The only thing anyone can blame is the recording of the stats and that you can only blame on CD guys at the games with binoculars who get paid by the clubs to give them live stats and weekly stats.

If anything everyones score was scaled down (and their CP's were scaled down) because there were so many CP's in the game. Greenwood's score being another example.

• Whatyasmokin says:

Champion data work on a complex scoring system, you are free to your opinion of who 'deserves' a certain score. Im glad scoring is accurately done using a system though, not just based on what an individual feels someone should receive.

There will never be a system everyone loves 100%…………

But surely you agree that a more complex system that rewards the little things that the dream team scoring doesnt reward is superior……..the Dream team system is more suitable to amateur sports management players there I said it.

• Defying_Madness says:

Cripps and Danger are two players who are benefiting from getting more points than they should and you have both I think so I don't think you should be complaining unless you are willing to complain about them as well

• PizzaSafety says:

Conspiracy theory zone. Only player really getting more than they deserve is Bont, sometimes danger.

• PizzaSafety says:

Also people on here saying GAJ or Danger is better than Macrae, who gives a f$%^, so is Alex Rance, so is Buddy Franklin, so is Eddie Betts………SC is about stats with CP's and efficiency that helps to make it more accurate in showing who is actually good, but it's still about stats.

• Northernsoul74 says:

So your saying the top 10 are better than you for identifying and backing a player about to enter the elite bracket and who was also unfashionable and a POD. Sounds about right.

15. Rivo says:

Which 3 are best to have on field today?

Pertacca, Fritsch, Higgins, Spargo?

16. BoltonsBlues says:

1531 with NicNat, Titch, Dusty, Cripps, Fisher, Gawn, Sprago, Sicily, Fristch to go, hopefully the kids can belt out a decent score and the premos can return to their big scoring ways (looking at your Titch and Dusty)

Lloyd, Ryan and Macrae all coming in hot this week!

$338k for upgrades next week, liking the look of Tuohy for Finlayson or should i just go to uber premo in Simpson/Hurley/Yeo?

17. James says:

Put the C on Titch, Cripps or Gawn?

• Randomcliche2 says:

I went Gawn. Lowest downside risk for mine.

• Patch says:

Titch for mine. Gawn's never gone massive against Kreuz before. Cripps not a bad choice though.

18. TOPHAWK1 says:

No whispers on Nank yet community? The prick better play, or else I will get in my car and drive to Optus stadium to give the Nank a personal spray!!!

• theRealPod says:

I still say he'll play. Nank is a Tank!!

• Ja191 says:

He’ll play th, soldo played in the vfl

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Thanks boys!!! Soldo didnt even make the trip across then! Nank the tank should play then. Still be nervously hovering around the late changes announcements at 1.20 pm Perth time mind you. Fingers crossed.

• Tibor says:

There's been whispers about him for a few weeks now but surely this is an important game for the tigers to win and they need him. Do they play him with Soldo against West Coast?. Do they flirt with red hot form and rest him, some of them on good terms with themselves at the moment signing autographs during games….

19. Boris_Baconbeer says:

The Crazy McCrazy poll.

Was it:
1. Bad luck not to have picked up McCrazy earlier?
2. A bad strategic decision not to have picked up McCrazy earlier?

VOTE NOW HAVE YOUR SAY!! πŸ˜€

I think it was a good move and I have been very lucky it is paying off.

• Mick says:

I brought him in at $596k and was tossing up between he or Dusty. Got lucky. Hoped he keep the 115avg he had at the time, never dreamt he go so huge 4 weeks running. Likewise I watched the game and can’t agree with those who say he was over scored, had 25 contested posies, in pouring rain, at 72% eff. All the other mids who had high possession counts went around 50%. Kids a star, let him shine

• Pointschaser says:

Gutted that I didn't chase those points

• theRealPod says:

You didn't vote. Which do you think, 1 or 2?

• Boris_Baconbeer says:

Well if i had to choose, since I am one who did pick him up, I'd say I was lucky. So 1.

I had Crouch and had to swap to someone else. I chose Crazy over Oliver, Cripps and Zorko (So lucky). That was week 3. Chose because I wanted POD. Had to catch up from my worst start ever.

But I could have chosen a complete tard I suppose so wasn't a total random luck event.

• theRealPod says:

You chose Macrae over Oliver & Cripps after Crouch went down, excellent selection.

BTW I vote 2. I don't have him and I only have myself to blame. The signs were there early and I did have him last year (sigh) so I knew he could go the next level. I guess listening to the advice on this site can have a detrimental result at times, chasing Dusty, Oliver etc. instead of the bleeeeeding obivous!

• DavidSA says:

I would say 1) bad luck
Reason is history shows not to chase points in this case "a rare one" it was wrong not to chase points
It's not like he went crazy in his first 5 games and the 141 against the Blues was his 3rd score over 130 pts out of 6 games. After that his next 3 have been insane 189, 156, 177 – 100% of people would not have seen that coming.

Simple way to put it if he scored 149, 116, 137 he would not be talked about as much as he is now

• theRealPod says:

Well said David.

• Patch says:

Well said mate. As someone who started him I'm pinching myself. Was expecting 115-120 average and a solid POD, not 174 over three rounds.

Argument to be made that people could have picked a soft run coming up but I'd be tickled pink if anyone expected the run to be quite this good

20. TOPHAWK1 says:

Murray and T Kelly are the two rooks on the chopping block for me this week. It would give me close to a million bucks to go shopping. Looking at Ryan down back for Murray, and TKelly for ?? Any suggestions? It wont be Macrae……darnit. He will have to wait. Can afford Dustin Martin?

• AuroraBorealis?! says:

You'd probably want to see him score very well against WCE before bringing him in, but then again its Dusty, so maybe you can just count on him turning his form around

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Exactly. Dusty is Dusty and he will come good alright. Going into today with a BE of 162 and even if he produces a modest score of around 100 today, I can snaffle him for $500K. That is a gift. Rocky straight after his bye at $375K is starting to look very tasty too.

21. AuroraBorealis?! says:

I didn't manage to catch the game yesterday because, well, f*ck watching port v GC in china. Can anyone tell me if Rockliff is looking the goods again? He scored pretty decently but did he look like the contested beast of old? Kelly to Rocky after his bye is looking enticing

• theRealPod says:

nǐ hǎo. I was listening to the game was easy to get distracted. I have Robbie Gray so was frustrated.

Rocky is improving and at his price will be tempting but I can't go there with his injury history, look what happened with Lids.

• AuroraBorealis?! says:

Yeah good call, ill wait to upgrade kelly to an actual premo i think

• JugHead says:

His injury history is a worry, but he played 20 games last year which isnt bad.
I'm gunna find it hard to pass on him for two main reasons.
His potential scoring vs his current price looks very good.
He is very bye friendly, and the dpp will make him extra useful.
If he stays healthy he will be a cheap, good quality M9. Also, if it turns sour you only have 375k sitting on the bench. Some of the standard cows are approaching that price.

22. Derek says:

You are far too modest Patch. A lot like the great Jock Reynolds himself.

Sure you could sit here and remind everyone that you identified Macrae for a breakout year, and you had the guts to put that out there for all the world to mock and laugh at you, but no, you don’t need to do that. And you certainly don’t need to remind everyone of your rank based on starting with Macrae, because that isn’t the type of bloke you are. Your a humble ‘uman bean, and deserve all the akola, arkolad, accoladde…. recognitions that are coming to you from this great community.

Thanks Patch, thanks fellas.

• Neil demons delight says:

Could'.t agree more Derek . I know of one other too who is well up and modest but one hell of. a player and the same deal with Macrae

• Whatyasmokin says:

πŸ‘

23. Ando says:

Put the C on Oliver or Titch?

• Ja191 says:

Oliver, won’t get tagged and don’t seeing him going under 110 at worst. Still not confident in titch

• Mick says:

with no Ed Curnow you’d think Oliver would be a lock for 120+

• Beezneez says:

Ive gone Gawn opponents have Titch but no Oliver. Changing c to Oliver. Will Titch get the Robertson tag?

• r_calve says:

maybe but robertson might not do mutch cos the umps are on to him after getting suspended for the 50th time

• Beezneez says:

Changing Gawn to Oliver was a good move – NOT!

24. SpudFarmer says:

Oliver or Max with the C?
No curnow so no good tagger and Kreuz looks back in form so max might suffer.
OR is Olivers ceiling too low?

25. David says:

Is it silly to try to bring in Macrae before next round?

26. KSinny says:

Vc Oliver, Cripps or Gawn? If my Vc doesnt produce should i stick the C on Titch or Dusty?

27. Mike says:

Standing ovation billings standing ovation 21 touches and 1 goal and still cant get 80 omg . Xac dawaon scored better than you

28. DavidSA says:

I'm having a POD spud week Shaw 54 and Mundy 83
Also Gray being fwd is a worry Rockliff looks relevant after his bye for cash gen, bye cover and bail out card for Billing owners.

• DavidSA says:

can add Hogan to that list too by the looks of things. I'm going to my cave now

29. Steeeve says:

Had planned to bring in dusty for Kelly next week. If dusty doesn't produce a ton today it's very tempting to wait and grab rocky. Ride him through the byes.

• DavidSA says:

Make coin picking Rockliff for the trade alone and also make up to 150k if he can keep pumping out 90-100 scores while scoring his trade mark 150 some time

• JugHead says:

Agree. I was going to bring Dusty in for Kelly too. But I see Rocky as a higher priority, seeing as Dusty hasnt turned his form around yet. The people who have waited on Danger with the same approach haven't been burnt (yet).

30. Corey says:

Cripps or Gawn as captain today?

31. Trades says:

70 points + Simpson, Fritsch & Nank
Vs
Cripps, Hogan, Christensen & Higgins

32. TommyC99 says:

Gawn, Dusty or Titch captain community?

33. BundyBear says:

Spargo or Higgins ? any suggestions ?

34. r_calve says:

should i upgrade tim kelly to danger this week

or murray to a better defender

• BundyBear says:

I didnt start with Danger. Am gona wait another week for him. Just isnt doing it at the moment. His BE is slowly coming down though

35. Holty01 says:

My captain choice was between Gawn Cripps and Titch. The way this game has started, i better hope Titch scores big.

36. AuroraBorealis?! says:

Hmm, looking like going Oliver over Gawn as C was a mistake.

• DavidSA says:

yup made same mistake too

• Whatyasmokin says:

Last two times they met Gawn racked up +10 hitouts over Kruezer. Was always likely to score reasonably Im not sure why people are so worried about Gawn in this game especially if anything Gawn is in similar form to 2016 and Kruz is underdone with a poor preseason etc.

• PizzaSafety says:

Yeah and Kreuzer was never even that good of a tap ruckman last year, got less points from hitouts to advantage per game than Gawn did.

37. Beezneez says:

I changed the c from Gawn to Oliver at the last minute. Why don't I leave things the way they are and go with my first instinct. Oh well still 3 quarters to go. Gawn did slow down a little last week and Oliver picked up – here's hoping for my sake.

38. JugHead says:

T. Kelly. After his first ordinary score, when his whole team looked garbage, what do ppl think?

A. Time to trade him. Points and cash generation have been great, but he's done his job. Time to go.
or
B. Are you kidding? He will go back to scoring what he has all year and i can squeeze at least another 60k out of him yet.

• Ahmad rubas says:

im leaning more towards B because i only have 6 premo mids at the moment so when i bring dusty in this week or next week i will need kelly to stay at m8 until his bye well thats the plan anyway

• Ahmad rubas says:

i change my mind A didnt realise he would have a breakeven of 120

• seen_burns says:

I'll be trading him, I don't have Dangerfield and trading Kelly is the easiest way to get him.

• HumanBob says:

A
He only ave 94 and has a high of 118. Sure that's great for a rookie but it's not enough to hold him when you can get someone better.
No wonder Archie gets the girls

• smart as s says:

Definitely B, best rookie of the season, one week of poor score is understandable and forgivable, roll on next week!

• Redpill5 says:

Cats have blues at home this week. Should bounce back.

39. DavidSA says:

anyone else see Gawn 55 down to 45 at the end of the 1st qtr. then gets 1 HO starting the 2nd qtr now is 42?

• gator59 says:

Yeah I seen that .. wtf

• Whatyasmokin says:

Did the hitput get sharked? Thats negative 5 points.

Did he then score from a % like a shepherd or bump, maybe a tackle? Did he handball the ball? Was it contested? Was the kick or handball effective? What part of the ground was it in?

Ffs

• DavidSA says:

I added the ? Because I'm watching the fanfooty sc scores while washing dishes. Ipad leaning on the kitchen window. Slap you in the face and knock you out, don't need to close a fist

• Keenbutclueless says:

I think he gave away a double 50 metre penalty

• Boris_Baconbeer says:

Speaking of Fanfooty. Anyone on pc using it?. Seems to be dishing out a lot of Malware last few days

40. BlueBaggerJosh says:

Fark u Hibberd, definitely out next week

41. Defying_Madness says:

Do something Oliver you shit

42. Steeeve says:

Happy with petracca so far today. Hope he can at least go back up in value before I trade him to a real premo.

43. sc tragic says:

Why the orange socks ?

44. SpudFarmer says:

Tim Smith looking good. How many fwd rooks do the Demons have?

45. BrownlowBoy says:

Higgins out for those with him onfield!

46. DavidSA says:

Higgins a late out

47. Defying_Madness says:

First week this year I haven't gone Titch VC or C so expect a 200 point game

48. TheGreatBozza says:

Worth dropping Dusty to loop Holmans 120? I can field Higgins

49. Yeahnahyeah says:

Well thats my season over. Dropped 150 ranks to 200ish last week and Captain Oliver should get me a score of around 2100 this week. can see myself dropping out of top 1000. gg boys

50. Boris_Baconbeer says:

Anyone going to complain about Cripps getting 148 in a losing team with 3 clangers 71 % efficiency? Unlike McCrazy, probably not when they have him in their team.
;P Don't get too upset just stirrin.

• JohnDJ59 says:

I am since I don't have him and keep coming up against ones that do.

• Boris_Baconbeer says:

Haha! πŸ˜€ I hope you have a good score anyway mate.

• SpudFarmer says:

Nah Cripps points were all genuine

• Defying_Madness says:

About as genuine as Macrae's and Danger's points so take that as you will

• Holty01 says:

In the end the points have to go somewhere. There is the same amount of points to give out every game. By the end of the match if there is 50 points to still give out, CD give it to who they feel are deserving. It would be so much easier if they evened it out over all players.

• Northernsoul74 says:

Well played Boris, well played.

51. BrownlowBoy says:

Oliver played today with a broken finger. Supposed to have surgery this week.

• SpudFarmer says:

That's probably why he couldn't pull it out

52. BadgerHoney7 says:

So much for Nank being a late out, for those who traded him, I feel sorry for you, I said it all along.

• dognino says:

That’s me, gotta stop listening to everyone who has the inside word.

• Neil demons delight says:

'Yup he will be out didn't train '' 66

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Don't know why people listen to posts over the internet. Haha. Don't go blaming others for pressing the trade button.

• BadgerHoney7 says:

Exactly NDD, Wow also stated this, was wrong and I challenged him but said still said he had inside news, I reckon if the coach doesn't say it, they're alright – coaches are pretty honest these days

• Keenbutclueless says:

I traded him out. I did expect him to be a late out, based on the AFL website. Just the talk of it was enough to make me have a look. Came to the conclusion that even if he played, trading him down to Kreuzer and pocketing cash was a good move. Genuinely believe Kreuzer could match the top dogs on the way home. So, all in me. Whilst it hasn’t worked out well, I guess we won’t really know until the end of the season whether it was right or wrong. Feeling mightily p&&&ed off that’s it all gone pearshaped last two weeks – Crouch and Mutch last week, Lobb and Kreuzer this week. But will remain philosophical and try pick myself up for next emeeej.

53. Steeeve says:

Brought in Simpson and Yeo this week. Ugh.

54. DavidSA says:

If everything I do is wrong then trying to avoid bringing in the one premium i seek for another is also going to be wrong
Quote: Sir DavidSA 2013

55. Defying_Madness says:

Hawthorn are giving me the shits. Playing like they don't even care

56. Crowboy94 says:

Yeo has the injured sign on him on Fanfooty?

• DavidSA says:

Yup he died. I'm on my last toe with Supercoach this year. Not joking

57. BrownlowBoy says:

Yeo now limping off the ground. Just as I traded him in.

58. BrownlowBoy says:

Yeo back on!

59. dognino says:

Nankervis playing, going to cost me about 70 points and a wasted trade , fml

• Northernsoul74 says:

Why did you trade him when he was named?

• dognino says:

Because Grundy played yesterday and he was the only option worth considering

• Monty says:

Exactly what I did because I can’t trust the lying coaches. Not happy

• dognino says:

Yep, was going to trade Finlayson to McDonald , but held off on that and now nank bloody plays

60. PointsChaser says:

Kelly to Dusty or Finlayson to TMAC?
I can't do both this week

61. Flandingo says:

What a flog Sicily is. Terrible efforts at tackling when put into forward line. He will be cheap IF I decide to get him after the byes.

• Defying_Madness says:

Calling him a flog for the sake of it now are we?
Robinson is the real flog

• Flandingo says:

Oh, sorry madman. You obviously didn’t watch his insipid efforts.

• Tibor says:

Did he just have a shocker or is there some flog tantrum we are yet to see

62. BoltonsBlues says:

What’s par this week fellas?
I’m going to make a nice steady climb up the ladder and should improve my 3k ranking, sitting on 2374 with NicNat and Dusty with still a half to go, my projected has me pushing 2500, I’d be over 5 moons if I get that

• Ja191 says:

that's massive will be top 200 scores of the week easy feeling like par is around 2250

63. BrownlowBoy says:

Jeez we have 2 players on separate lines who are in insane form in Macrae and Darling

64. Defying_Madness says:

Lost 60 odd from captaining Oliver over Titch and around 70-80 from fielding Phillips over Holman. Could have turned my measly 2100 into a semi decent score.

• BrownlowBoy says:

It's all luck Supercoach. Yes some skill comes into it with loopholes and trading but choosing who to field onfield out of rookies is all guesswork.

• Defying_Madness says:

Yeah I figured Holman would score poorly as all his big scores have been against weakish teams. Guess I was wrong there

65. Neil demons delight says:

The demons looking good Could go all the way

• Tibor says:

Keep the lid firmly on Neil at least til we beat someone like Adelaide Swans or West Coast…They did a great job today but Carlton are average and very depleted of some stars today, We are nearly full strength for the first time in about 20 years

• BoltonsBlues says:

Yeah because saints, Carlton, bombers and gold coast are top teams
You’ll be making up numbers at best

66. Crowboy94 says:

Richmond πŸ˜‚.
Flat Track Bullies

67. Stressed says:

Does anybody know how many points Nank has so far

68. poloko48 says:

The perils of loopholing – had Charlie on field with E on Guelfi, decided to keep Guelfi's score, then Higgins late out and no E on Stephenson FML. Donut time.

69. HumanBob says:

15 of my players scored 100+ 3 of them 150+ and I had the C on an overrated Ranga who couldn't get 90 in a 20 goals win.

70. AuroraBorealis?! says:

What a dreadful week, Oliver as captain and barely reached 2000. Ah well, will just have to move on and focus on the future. How did everyone else do this week?

• Sc_Wow says:

1800

• Holty01 says:

Rubbish. What u really get?

• Sc_Wow says:

Like 2100 or something not sure, wasn’t the best week. Still trying to figure out some of the scores, not sure how Stef went so bad

• HumanBob says:

Wrong Captain choice mate? that's an unusually low score for you

• Sc_Wow says:

Oliver, just found out his finger was broken. Scores from gray and Stef didn’t help. Hopefully scores get back to normal next week

• HumanBob says:

I had Stef too. Concerned for his output for the rest of the year and might swap him for NicNat during the byes.
I was going to get Gray but Rocky is impacting him, Robbie may not be top 15 fwd from this point fwd if he doesn't get the midfield minutes

• Holty01 says:

Same. I thought Stefs influence in that midfield was huge. I guess Titch was scoring so well they had to start taking points off others.

• Holty01 says:

And not that bad of a score this week although where you are ranked i assume u would have wanted a little more

• TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

As richie would say all the twos

2 for twenty two 2

Not bad considering the rooks i had on field

1200 yesterday with 8 to come inc capt.
Super Sunday.
Phew.

• FFC says:

Similar Score mid 2000's – the more premo's the worse the score. In head to head league – all my unique players bombed vs opponent. Tough Times.

71. Marty says:

How did we all go? Just didn't happen for me as much this week with so many premo players scoring 70's -Smith, Simpson, Sicily, Martin S, etc.

2236 thanks to Titch. Higgins a late out was fortuitous for me giving me Holman's 122.

Some big scores this round so expect to go down a 100 or so.

72. Crowboy94 says:

How did everyone go this week?

73. TOPHAWK1 says:

What a round!! I think I am BI-POLAR after Yeo today. From utter despair to feelings of euphoria in the space of 1 hour!! What did we all end up with? 2174 for me. Well played Trigga. Just too tough again. Got one back over ya Hedski! Only just. Great slugfest as per usual.

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Sorry shake, got lucky again this week. Great battle. Mirra saved me.

• hedski says:

Tight TH, that s one a piece πŸ‘

• Neil demons delight says:

sorry also 2178 just good enough like toppa. Geelong have them weeks Scott would be better off forgetting it and move on My early tip to win it was and still is the cats cheers NDD

• TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Was worried billings probably saved me as scored the same as my rook
Still come down to final match nic nat v nank
Thank truck u had holman on the pine!!

No idea how we get maccrae?
πŸ™„

Get crouch back next week (fingers crossed) and trade finalyson to another premo

Was on the money with rocky and boy was i worried on yeo early. Came home like a freight train.

WC real deal. Darling.

• TOPHAWK1 says:

West Coast destroyed the tigers. Darling is turning into an absolute monster. I have two upgrades on the cards. I might just fall short cash wise, but if I can pull it off it will be Murray to Ryan and T Kelly to Dustin Martin. Then Rocky next week for $375K as he has comes out of his bye. Then Rocky and Holman will hopefully keep my mid field machine going during the byes.

74. SamuraiPizzaCat says:

How do I bring in Macrae, Lloyd and Darling??

75. poloko48 says:

Shocking – 2008. Story of my round:
– 10 of my on field players contributed an average of 60.5. Murphy, Keefe, Guelfi, Oliver, Hibberd, Sicily, Kelly, Murray, Coffield, Fritsch.
– missed Holman loophole
– copped donut from Higgins no show

76. BoltonsBlues says:

2486 this week
PROs – Macrae captain, Lloyd, Zerrit back to form and Ryan proving why I started with him!
CONs – TKelly first poor game but I have faith, Gray had some bad noodles the night before and what to do with Zac Fisher, doing decent but this time of year we need more (side not to Finlayson, you look shot mate, time to go I think)

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Massive score Bolton. Congrats. Expect a massive rocket up the rankings tonight. I won 8/10 leagues with 2173. Hope that puts it in perspective.

• BadgerHoney7 says:

That's a huge week

• The Ranger says:

Nice score Bolts

• HumanBob says:

I'm holding Fisher until his bye. might even keep him for F7 it's between him, Fritsch and Ronke atmo
Gray issue wasn't noodles it was Rocks

• Holty01 says:

Bloody hell. That is massive. I would think you would be in the top 50 this round. Congrats mate

Hey guys, been out golfing today…what happened with J.Higgins today?…injured or omitted?

79. Dogsdik says:

Two year follower of you blokes and decided to join the community tonight. Got to 15th last year and then smashed by the SC gods when i didnt realise it was a fluke. • Russty_ says:

Hey Dogs, yeah the drama is boring as Batshit, but the trollers usually get bored and go away after a little bit of time, otherwise a pretty good crew in here, welcome and have fun πŸ™‚

• Dogsdik says:

Thanks Russty. I might contribute something useful st some stage. I’m about 2270ish this round, not rank, just points. How’d you finish up?

• Russty_ says:

2199, not terrible but won 7 out of 10 Leagues, didn't trade this week because of the Nank scare.

• Dogsdik says:

I started with ‘ol mate, Sandi in the ruck with the bearded god. Been kind so far, but he with the tucked up long locks is the goal

• gator59 says:

Welcum Dogsdik

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Make an account. Good work on the rank.

• dogsdik says:

• welcome says:

You don't have to make an account, only if you want. Don't listen to that rude bloke.

80. BadgerHoney7 says:

2213 for me this week – hopefully that puts me up a little in the rankings. Heaps of underperforming premos this week (Shaw, Smith, Sicily, Walters, and Dusty just can't seem to go huge yet) and they all have been in pretty good form (other than Dusty and Walters. Again Billings (and Saints) were awful and I can't wait to flick him off during the byes. Finlayson (will be gone this week) and TK Kelly were average but I expect him to be back. So with all of this I'm pretty happy with my score this week. And Yeo – he's a freak to score 100 in a half after an injury

81. HumanBob says:

I might have to go early on TSmith so that I can double downgrade this week without buying a 2-4 games spud. and generate the $ to get jackmac
NielDemonsDelight if you're not in an alcohol induced coma can you advise me of the MFC opinion of the lad? His 2-games last year ave 26

• BadgerHoney7 says:

Got injured last year in one of his games early

• gator59 says:

Think it was in the first round when Nick Riewoldt drove him into the turf and stuffed his shoulder

• HumanBob says:

I did a little research and Geez he was robbed in his 1st game 5kicks, 3marks, 3hitouts, 3 tackles and 1goal for a meazly 29SC. Got dropped for a week and then Copped a knee in the ribs that ended his season @ round 5.
Seems a bit soft 17 games missed for sore ribs.

• Russty_ says:

Nah that was Joel Smith with the Shoulder.

• gator59 says:

Yep it was too Russty

• Russty_ says:

He got 45 in the first quarter and then out for 14 weeks or something, then came back and got hurt again…unfortunately.

• Russty_ says:

Nah didn't miss it Bob, meant to respond to Gator who thought it was Joel Smith with his Shoulder injury last season.

• Neil demons delight says:

These Saints supporters think they know everything. Are you two sure it wasn't NORM

82. Simon says:

2213 with Hurley and Curnow on the bench..
And Holman on the bench

Rough week..

83. Bells says:

Had given up SC in disgust this year after seeing Yeo went off injured in the first quarter – I'd just brought him in. It was curtains for making the finals after a rough few weeks. I was done with the SC Gods community.
Checked in just now and not only did he come back but scored 113 and won me all my league games. 2318 not a monster score but at least….
I'M BACK BABY ! (Costanza voice)

84. Frank says:

Too many bad scores from premiums just keep sinking my team.

85. Neil demons delight says:

Hi Bob Melbourne love him Don't forget he got injured in one of those games. Played a great game 2 weeks ago against Box hill which got him the gig. Now Fritsch is playing wing smith slots in and will go well . My round 13 is bad otherwise he would be in congrats to the mighty Gator 2358 killed me and Derek beat me 3 times and the others but I did manage to pip Hedski sorry mate just got lucky I guess Super coach makes me cheer for the opposition too much. Found myself cheering every time Cripps got the ball

• BadgerHoney7 says:

Have been guilty of cheering for my SuperCoach players against my team also NDD

• Derek says:

Something weird happening here. I played you in 3 leagues this week and managed to beat you by 33 in all of them. Amazing.

• HumanBob says:

That's funny because you're actually a numbers autism candidate

• JohnDJ59 says:

That's why I would never have players in my team that I can't stand (Cripps) wouldn't be able to bring myself to cheer for them.

• Sandyf62 says:

I'm the same John, although I'm starting to think that next year I will try and not let emotion get in the way of a good score. I'll just look at the stats and not think about whether the player is a [email protected]#he#d or not.

• gator59 says:

Cheers Neil .. I had some luck and some bad ones too like many others…..The only mistake i made was taking the VC off mcrae before the game when i thought it was going to be a struggle for him to score heavily

The other mistake was not having the E on Holman and couldn't loop him

• Neil demons delight says:

wish I had your bad luck Doing something I don't like this week Sideward premo trading. Just so sick of Hibberd . Lewis has taken his role now so its welcome Tom McDonald and your boy Gat Phillips cheers mate

• HumanBob says:

Thanks Niel. He's a big bloke he'll be a monster when he fills out πŸ™‚ where does he come from?

• hedski says:

My cats killed me Neil, well done, next time I'll get ya.

• neil demons delight says:

That's what it's about mate forget the crap fun and good ppl cheers NDD

86. BadgerHoney7 says:

anyone have a genuine idea when we will be able to make our trades on these 4:40 games??

• Russty_ says:

Normally about an hour and a half to two hours after the last game finishes.

87. Yeahnahyeah says:

Disaster week scored 2029. where to begin… traded doedee and christensen who both scored 90+, finlayson, coffield, tim kelly, oliver (c), stef martin, sicily, coniglio, murray all underperforming…… holman on the bench too, dont even want to look at my ranking

88. DavidSA says:

Mundy, Shaw, Gray, Kelly, Hogan, Simpson, Sicily and Captained Olive lol not a score worth telling hey

• Russty_ says:

Hey dave, hang in there mate, all those guys could ton up for you next week.

• DavidSA says:

Yeah sticking to my plans till full premo then will have a hard look at Shaw first. Lots of monster defenders raising their hands over him.
Hogan is a worry too he is now playing the perfect decoy for Melbourne which is no good for my team.

• Russty_ says:

Yeah agree about Hogan, seems up and down, and we need solid players now, might pish him off to Darling, another sidewaysy haha

89. hedski says:

So that's 9 weeks gone now, I feel like what I imagine an icehead would be like after 9 weeks on the gear…
Every weekend blending into the next with an almighty rage building up. Ha ha.
2150 odd this week, not bad, not good.
I've burnt half of my trades already so its flat out now, teams OK but not gelling atm.
Bang bang πŸ‘πŸΊπŸΊπŸ˜

• DavidSA says:

Did better than me… I'm searching for my soul because I think I'm a husk after my last 3 rounds

90. Ahmad rubas says:

Jack macrae 727k anyone jumping on?

• Russty_ says:

I wish, can't afford the crown jewel

• Ahmad rubas says:

me neither im looking at dusty 492k this week depending on the BE

• HumanBob says:

It's attractive price isn't Ahmad. I'm considering getting Dusty and Rocky to loop through M8/9. Combined they're not much more than Macrae

• Ahmad rubas says:

yeah both dusty and rocky are good value would you trust rocky as an M8? ive currenly got 6 premo mids 7 after dusty i like the sound of rockliff at M8 or is he better as a M9 loophole?

• DavidSA says:

Almost impossible to do so unless you have bank 280k and looking to go Kelly to him. Or do an insane paint the fence move

• Ahmad rubas says:

yeah i agree with you i think we have missed the boat on him but i also said that at 628k

• Russty_ says:

I have the money but I'm thinking more value options, maybe Zorkonator?

• mick says:

I wish

91. Derek says:

Crowden, Garlett, O’Connar, Barry, Murphy, Langdon, Spargo & Venables.

This is my crack money making machine.

Oh dear, they may have actually lost value this week.

This is my biggest problem right now. Getting the cash to get to full premium.

Still have 22 trades, but team value not even to $12mil yet.

Desperate times made me bring Tuohy in this week and hope he can be a half decent D6. Gulp.

Couple of downgrades next week and Lycett to Ryder the week after.

Will be sniffing around for a bargain or two.

• Ahmad rubas says:

tuohy was a good pickup this week brought in lobb as a bargain this week and i think he will be a good pick once patton is back so keefe gets dropped and lobb is the main ruck round 13 bye isnt ideal but an upgrade for under 400k is really good value imo

• dontblushbaby says:

O'Connor must get a game soon, his numbers been have good, I share your pain with Crowden,Garlett, Barry who I have , however like most & I'll be painting the fence over the next 4 weeks , Ridley – Bombers, Rice – Saints look the best of the Rooks who played over the weekend

92. Steeeve says:

Hell Patchy boy if you started Cripps you'd be RIGHT up there.

93. HumanBob says:

1 from 9 in Perfect 9. I'm now outside the top 28%. Sort of emphasises that my captain choices have been crap

• Holty01 says:

What is perfect 9?

• HumanBob says:

a game in the top menu of your supercoach homescreen. about 270k prizemoney now goes up 5k every week that nobody picks the highest scoring player from each and every game in a single round

• Russty_ says:

It's a game that no one will ever win but is still fun playing πŸ™‚

94. HumanBob says:

Lockout ends at 9 yeah?

• DavidSA says:

Supposed to but can be 15mins early or late

• Russty_ says:

It's open now Bob

• HumanBob says:

Thanks Russty. I moved up exactly 600 places after a score that was exactly 100 higher than last week. How'd you go?

• Russty_ says:

Dropped off the pace 715 places but only scored 2199 and not the 2300+ was predicted, still in the top 5000, but pretty average really

95. HumanBob says:

Well done. what was your round Rank for that monster score?

• HumanBob says:

No way Your round rank for this week was 2785. I scored 2376 and my round rank was 1912 you must have been in the top 50

96. Trades says:

Man, that supercoach app is so buggy. Takes at least 2-3 hours for the trade page to populate properly. The home page says I've got 30 trades and I'm ranked 0.

97. Ahmad rubas says:

anyone with SC gold could you please tell what dusty BE is

98. Marty says:

Fritsch worth more $$$ than Billings now. How the mighty have fallen.

99. BadgerHoney7 says:

Tuohey – protender or contender ??

• Derek says:

I got him this week, mainly because of his price, but also liked the look of Cats playing Essendon, Carlton, Suns and North. Teams who don’t apply as much forward pressure as others.

• Redpill5 says:

His season average was 88 last year, his highest ever. Pretender

• Russty_ says:

I'd be happy if my D6 ends up with an 88 average for the year..just sayin.

100. TOPHAWK1 says:

SC Wow ended up with 2173 and a new ranking of 123. (-87)

I had the same score.

Move over mate, you are slowing down and you are being overtaken.

The silence is deafening………….

• HumanBob says:

He was lucky to get that Tophawk, relied on Mirra and a few others that were way over their averages. I've said it before and I'll say it again
I've been playing this game long enough to have seen THOUSANDS of top 200 teams in May finish outside the top 10,000

• DavidSA says:

Munch munch…. Dave sits down, front row in front of boxing ring with popcorn

• Jeff says:

To be fair, the tiny decision to put the C on Titch instead of Oliver would have made his score look a lot different and he'd be in 65th.
Also you can't really say someone relied on players that were way over their averages because in order to rely on that you'd need players performing way below their averages which is a bit of a double standard.

• DavidSA says:

I would have scored 151 more pts if I Captained Titch over Olive and fielded Holman over Kelly.

• Jeff says:

I was just putting some perspective on it. To say he is slowing down after one rough week is a bit harsh I reckon

• HumanBob says:

Same boat with Oliver instead of Darling or Titch, Sicily, Cogs etc and still outscored him by 200.
If you have players averaging 90 who get 85 it's below their ave but a player averaging below 60 who scores 85 it's WAY above their ave and Lucky

• HumanBob says:

"…Bob is confused by the non-appearance of the anticipated opponent and takes a swing at some joker in the crowd.."
"He'll get weeks for that"

• Jeff says:

Yeah exactly but he had 7 players who scored 20 less than their average and another 2 who were 15 less so can't that be considered unlucky?
And by your logic, you were just lucky with darling who was 80 points above his average

• Wedge says:

Didn't we already have the luck contributing to sc scores and dismiss its importance?

• HumanBob says:

we all have players every week who spud it up that why predicted scores go from 2500 to 2200 over the weekend. My spuds equaled his and I outscored him by 200 without Macrae or Lloyd. But I do have seedsman
Kelly 46 below,
Sicily 30 below
Oliver C 25 below
Fyffe 22 below
SMartin 22 below
Cogs 18 below
Finlayson 18 below

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Look out everyone. #1 coming through. Just a jet that has it in the bag. 9 rounds in Muppet. Only reason you scored well was because of darling and your cap.

• HumanBob says:

ooh mummy look at the red faced jealous troll

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Jealous? Lol mate when you win the 50k then I'll be jealous. Your inside top 1k. Clap clap. Don't get too ahead of yourself or you'll be back where you started at 20k lol.

• HumanBob says:

even going up 10 places is a lot better than going backwards two weeks in a row

• Cpt says:

Like a good Thriller, I want to look away but I can’t!

• Russty_ says:

I don't like the idea of us as a community kicking someone when they might be a bit down due to one week's results, we're better than that.
He had a few players this week who scored poorly, Gray, Oliver as Captain, as did I, Witherden, Stefan Martin, 2173 isn't terrible, I got 2199..and dropped in rankings also.
Going 30 odd to 120 odd isn't a disaster, can easily be made up next week, The stakes are a lot more, the closer to the top you are…for sure.
Anyways…Go you good things…and do the best you can, and let's support eachother ! πŸ™‚

• DavidSA says:

My popcorn is all gone now

• HumanBob says:

In cricket they call it banter.
When you put yourself on a pedastal and dismiss others as inferior you're gunna cop it when your luck runs out

• SC_Sixty6 says:

He will rise again Russty. Fair few poor performers for Wow which can easily be 2300's with correct captain. Pretty sure he's still top 10 in this community and it was 1 week.

This week reminds me of the first 2 weeks of the year. People that struck it lucky and had everyone perform. All of a sudden Bob comes in running his mouth because he's risen in rank. Was quiet until now. He's put himself in the spotlight. Better keep it up Bob……

• interested peep says:

Who cares what you cry over. This banter is gold!

• SC_Sixty6 says:

What's your rank Hawk? Only takes a bad captain choice!

Not to mention he had hurley on the pine so I think you need to sit your ass down and focus on your team and less worrying about other rankings of community members. There is a thread coming for people to post their own respective rank.

• Sc_Wow says:

Good to know what you guys consider ‘banter’ I won’t hold back in the future.
Tophawk you had the same score as me, and you’re telling me to move over? Can’t all of these comment be directed to you too? We had the same score

Humanbob, you have to rely on Mirra when a premo (Hurley) is injured so couldn’t you say I in fact lost points on having to play him? You brought Darling in an don’t seem to factor in his 180 into your good score, have fun once he drops down. I’m still well ahead of you and I’m 3 off full premo. I wouldn’t expect to have such a rough week evertime.
Your team is shit bob

• zerowins says:

Are grown men really arguing about whos better at supercoach. Quite comical really. Until you actually win it it or at the very least finish top 10 you dont really have a leg to stand on

• Sc_Wow says:

Isn’t this community about SuperCoach? I’m just defending myself agiain. Find it funny how all of you gang up, and I’m still ranked higher than all off you after two bad weekday

• BadgerHoney7 says:

pretty ridiculous zero.

• Sc_Wow says:

I saw your unedited comment too mate. You’re pathetic

• BadgerHoney7 says:

i don't need to create arguments like you, but it seems like everyone agrees with me.

• Sc_Wow says:

Well done you’re one of many sheep πŸ‘πŸΌ
Bet I’m still flogging you and the other sheep

• BadgerHoney7 says:

not here to create arguments, just here to have fun. but you don't know my rank so don't talk

• BVB21 says:

I also had a shocker and dropped back in the rankings through a few poor decisions.

Should’ve rolled the dice on rank, he scored the same as Grundy.

Then would have had Dangerfield instead of Kelly’s score.

And changed captain from Mitchell to Oliver last minute. Didn’t realise he had a broken finger.

But have to say so disappointing people starting a thread like this when one of the best contributors who has helped so many people has a bad round when they had a genuine chance to win.

If this is what the forum is coming to I don’t blame the top players from not posting and then we all lose.

Such irony people asking for wow and sixty6 to be banned all the time when they are the ones who cop so much abuse from jealous wannabes.

• theRealPod says:

C'mon Wow no time for softness. You're way ahead of most on here so back yourself and keep up the "banter".

Webster:
Banter refers to a form of jesting or to the act of exchanging joking repartee. Although the word once meant "ridicule".

• Ahmad rubas says:

are you considering kelly as a premo? i think its best you jump off or move him down to M9 dont think he is good enough for M8

Lek/Patch time to give a few of these guys a rest from the community I think! Let them come back after the byes

• daisy says:

Including you. Looking through your past posts all you do is whine and scream profanities when things don't go your way. See you after the byes.

1: I'm not trolling like you
2: I dont carry on about rank every week like a flog
3: make a real account or go away

• daisy says:

1. How am I trolling?
2. You don't go on about rank, true, but you do go on sometimes.
3. Show me where it says an account is mandatory.

• Sc_Wow says:

What’s your rank Tophawk

• BVB21 says:

It’s 7787 (he is in my league)

• SC_Sixty6 says:

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ thanks BVB. You'll smoke him. What rank did you slide down to BVB?

• BVB21 says:

170.

Coming 2nd in my league.

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Solid rank mate. Keep it up! I can see you got a few pods unlike the sheep that may as well call their team 'community side'

• Mystic_Mac says:

Easy does it boys

• Jack says:

Everyone lay off Wow he has had so many injuries it's not funny anymore. This week he was missing Hurley as well as losing Venables earlier on in the season. Chin up buddy, you can get it back. #roadto1continues

• Boris_Baconbeer says:

'Ftumch' nobody ever says that – The Young Ones.

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Wow! Looks like I have ruffled a few feathers. I know I was a bit harsh on Wow, and his ranking is far superior than mine. Currently ranked 7787. The point I wanted to make is that it is fine to talk it up, self promote, and gloat if you are doing well. But at the same time, you have to be prepared to cop a bit of flak if you had a bad round and suffered in the rankings. If you dish it out, you have to be prepared to take it. Judging by the 23+ likes after my post, I reckon there are plenty of coaches who enjoyed me stirring up Wow a bit. Anyway Wow, no hard feelings mate. Good luck next week.

• Mystic_Mac says:

game.set.match

• Sc_Wow says:

Like you said I’m far better in the ranking than you are. Once I found you were ranked 7877 I found it comical that you could write something like this.
Then after looking at your team it wasn’t surprising. A team full of the most owned players with your only pods being players that smart coaches were smart enough to jump off.
Congratulations on getting the sheep to like your comment mate, at least you’ve achieved something this year.
I’m still ranked 123, with a team much further ahead than most. You sheep will keep following each other and won’t get close to top 100. Sorry that I tried to inspire change on this website, seems that you’re all happy picking the same team year in year out. <img draggable="false" class="emoji" alt="πŸ‘" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/2.4/svg/1f411.svg">

• Rick Grimes says:

All this d1ck measuring. The discussion thread has hit an all time low. Still a good effort to bed top 1000, now or whenever. I play for fun mostly. Pretty infuriating otherwise.

• Crowboy94 says:

Hey wow
Who is a good POD pick for the FWD or DEF atm?

• Connor says:

WoW's POD's (players under 10% ownership):
S. Martin
A. Witherdon

TopHawk's POD's:
L. Parker
T. Nankervis

Furthermore, after looking at their squads WoW and TopHawk have 20 players similar (and only 10 unique).
After looking at this I would suggest, WoW, that you have a very similar team to TopHawk and have merely made some well-timed trades, correct on-field rookie / captaincy calls, and had a bit of "luck" go your way πŸ™‚

• Sc_Wow says:

Started with McLean, had Gray since rd2 Oliver since rd 2
I’ve looked at hawks team. I’m well ahead

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Connor it's rd 9 and everyone has jumped on all the Pods. Guys that we started with hence why further ahead. Most trade to keep up while we trade to get full premo.

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Cheers Connor. His team almost looks like my side. I have some more new PODS planned in the coming few weeks.

• smart as s says:

I used to support you, but calling 23 people on here sheep is only going to make you less popular, good luck on your slide down! It will give me great joy to see thousands of people overtake you because no one likes an arrogant overconfident lowlife like you.

• Sc_Wow says:

Simply defending myself. Lowlife? Settle down mate you know nothing about me

• Valens_FC says:

What a thread! Not going to bake a guy ranked 123rd but a valid point to say all well and good to call out the good scores but going quiet ehen it goes the other way. Trump did the same thing with the share market. All down to him when it went up, all Obama’s fault when it went down!

• Sc_Wow says:

I didn’t even have a chance mate haha, had a look and someone had already done it for me

• Valens_FC says:

Lol fair enough and I suspect this news service will be on offer for you all season when the ranking falls! A few issues to sort out but your team still in great shape, look forward to how you navigate the bye weeks and of course, your growing fan base in the community!

• Sc_Wow says:

Yep 3 premos away now with 14 trades and 109k in the bank. Should be quite set for the byes. Yep I’m sure they will stick around lol

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Damn! Wow is quiet over the weekend because he has a life…..not to mention he would have gotten that notification when someone posts about him. Hilarious.

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Cheers Valens! I don't care where anyone is ranked at this time of the season. Just over a third of the season done. I posted what I posted last night to call out Wow. He loves to talk it up when things go well, but then goes a little quiet when things go against him. His "defensive" reactions to most other coaches expressing their views, including mine was gold. Let's see if he can walk the walk from here. If he can and he is #1 at season's end or at best inside the top 100, I will be the first one to congratulate him.

• Valens_FC says:

I think of it like the Christmas pantomimes… they all need a villain, we enjoy booing them, but maybe at the end we finish up giving them a pat on the back and appreciating the role they played!

101. FearTheBeard says:

So serious question. Is it worth trading D Smith out to get Macrae? Can't make it work any other way.

Otherwise I get Yeo in this week and continue to build the warchest for Macrae?

• HumanBob says:

Definitely. That's like a 50 point increase p/game

• FearTheBeard says:

Well let me re word.

Cull Murray this week, get Yeo in. Bank 110k. Go for Macrae in next week or 2? While holding Smith in the f6?

or Hold Murray. Get Macrae via swings and cull Murray next week for Yeo?

• FearTheBeard says:

Actually to make it easier.

Anyone know Murray/D Smith & Macrae/Yeo BREAKEVENS? lol.

Thanks again for help and thoughts lads.

• HumanBob says:

Macrae 106 Yeo 99 murray 81 smith 101.
You might be better getting Darling for smith and Waiting for Macrae rnd 12 bye

• FearTheBeard says:

Thanks Bob.

How about Murray?

What would your move be?

• HumanBob says:

Smith to Darling
Darling b.e 33 and 3-game ave 146

• HumanBob says:

JacMac has rnd 12 bye and I'm really skinny in rnd 12. If I get Macrae now I'll only have 10 players averaging 100+ on field and only 18 players in total. Round 13 I've got 15 averaging 100+ and 20 onfield

• HumanBob says:

Maybe go off piste and swap smith for McKernan and Murray to Yeo or Webster
McKernan b.e. -24 thats minus twenty four 2-game ave of 104 tipped to increase by 100k over next 3-games if he ave 92.6

• Fearthebeard says:

I wouldn’t dump d Smith if I wasn’t getting Macrae. I could almost leave him as f6 for the year really.

It’s just he’s the only way I can get Macrae.

Otherwise it’s go yeo in for Murray and in a week or 2 I can afford Macrae and leave d Smith in forwards

• Marty says:

I would get Yeo. Otherwise your forward line suffers. Build the warchest for Macrae. Other teams may paying him more attention from now on.

• HumanBob says:

Yeah I just don't like smith. I think that he's susceptible to injury and not a top twenty fwd for the rest of the year.
He's 12th fwd for overall points but he's 23rd for overall average and it gets worse, 35th fwd for 3-game ave and 26th for 5-game ave

• The BONT says:

Yeo BE is 99 Macrae BE is 62

• Cpt says:

Big fat Yes!

Your conceding too many points each week. Like me.

102. HumanBob says:

Did anybody pay attention to Jordan Ridley? 16k, 9hb, 7mks @ 80% is great for a 1st gamer. Only 76 SC but a very solid 76

• Sandyf62 says:

Yes if he backs it up next week, he will be coming in the week after.

• HumanBob says:

I need to cashout some calves with eating disorders ZGL Garlett Richards Finlayson and I want to get rid of two this week. I don't like saints rookies they all play 1 good game then 3 spuds but I did like TSmith's game enough to go early. Uuurrghh! I might have to watch a replay of a Bombers game where they win.

103. BoltonsBlues says:

My 2486 was good enough for 55th weekly ranking and moved from 3.3k to 897 for the yearly ranking, the highest I’ve been in a long long time, now to make a change, goodbye Finlayson, hello Howe

104. Cpt says:

I’ll be bringing in Macrae this week, can’t bleed points and “C” each week. I have the cash, Trades and cows. It’s burn time…

105. Boris_Baconbeer says:

I've just made it to rank 2450 after ranking 86k at round 2

106. Tim says:

Can I use a player that has a bye (goldcoast / port) for captain loophole this week?

107. The BONT says:

Is it worth it

Kelly and Doedee for Macrae and someone who is 102,000

• Jack says:

Definitely that GC 102k player that played on the weekend. He is a Defender too and will be handy bye coverage if he keeps his spot

• Jeff says:

When MacRae is outscoring those two put together in the past few rounds, it could be a good idea. I'd probably wait till after the dogs bye though

• Jeff says:

Actually make that after rd 13 because both Doedee and Kelly have byes in Rd 14

108. Derek says:

Ryder $502k BE 99.

A weeks rest.

Welcome.

• Jack says:

I'm in the same boat as you with Lycett Derek, but I think I'll just get the extra 100k out and go Grundy.

• Derek says:

Have a look back on who Grundy has been up against. No one too great. Kruger when he was injured.

He has a nice match up this week and then he has the big boys. We’ll see how good he is.

• HumanBob says:

DogDog $469,500 b.e. 73

• Jeff says:

Yeah and surely he'll be on the ground more soon. He's averaged 98 with less than 60% TOG

• Derek says:

I don’t think they will change what is working.

Dog dog gets to come in fresh and jump jump.

If it ain’t broke……….

• Jeff says:

Good point. If I was in your position I would def go for Ryder too cause they might actually rest Natinui even more come supercoach crunch time cause they won't want to risk injury for finals.

• HumanBob says:

I'm sure that they will build him up to be able to play a full game comfortably just in case he has to when it's important in the finals.
The only way to be match fit for a full match is to play a few full matches.
It's not fixing anything it's called building towards the main prize.

109. BlueBaggerJosh says:

had enough of hibberd, can trade to any fwd or def i dont currently have , LLoyd, yeo, Darling, Mclean heading the list. Who should i bring in?

• Marty says:

Depends on your bye structure. I wanted Lloyd but because of round 14 I will bring in Yeo.

• DavidSA says:

I'm starting to think this rd14 is a farce
I think if you have got 16 minimum for rd14 and over 19 for rd12 and 13 with the best of the best playing over the first 2 bye rounds you are looking at 2×2000-2100 scores and 1×1700 score you'd be over the moon surely

• JohnDJ59 says:

I'm stuffed for both rd13 and 14. I have over 19 for rd12, but only 14 for both rd13 and 14. I'm usually alright for two of them and don't worry about the third, not this year, sums up how I am going at the moment.

• HumanBob says:

Lloyd and Darling will increase by most even if they spud their next game = will be harder to get.
Darling is predicted to score 120 against Hawks and a price rise of 38,900 and then another 23,000 if he scores 113 against the Saints the following week.
Darling has 6×100 (4×120+) 90, 89 and 42
His 5 game ave is 118 three round ave 146

Lloyd predicted to rise 48k this week if he scores 113 against Lions and then another 26k the following week if he scores 111 against the lues.
Lloyd has 3x 100 (2×120+) 2×90 3×80 and 71
5-round ave 113.4 Three round ave 127.7

• BlueBaggerJosh says:

very interesting stats thanks for that, ive narrowed it down to them two for sure, thinking darling. Suits my bye structure much better

• HumanBob says:

I reckon Darling is the better bet Eagles are the real deal this year. I might even jump on JJK in a week or two as my F7/looper

110. Defying_Madness says:

Anyone know Danger's and Kelly's BE this week? 1k off bringing Danger in for Kelly
Could bring in Cripps or just wait

• The BONT says:

Tim Kelly 55 . Danger 119

You can google it by the way – website it called footy wire

• HumanBob says:

Danger 112
Kelly 120
from SC Gold

• Defying_Madness says:

Yikes don't think I will be able to make the trade next week either, maybe I should just get Cripps

• Ahmad rubas says:

What's your team looking like? There should be a way to bring in danger with kelly

• Defying_Madness says:

Laird, Simpson, Yeo, Ryan, Finlayson, Mirra (Keefe, Murphy)

Fyfe, Titch, Oliver, Martin, Coniglio, T Kelly, Merret, Holman (Barry, Phillips, Spargo)

Grundy, Gawn (olango)

McLean, Sicily, Menegola, Heeney, Smith, Fritsch (Henry, Guelfi)

Only got 1k in the bank and a measly 16 trades. Injuries have killed me this year.

Was looking at downgrading Henry and upgrading Kelly

• Ahmad rubas says:

can you go henry to smith a week early and kelly to danger

• Defying_Madness says:

that is the trade that left me 1k off

• Ahmad rubas says:

if you think cumming has JS maybe finlayson to cumming 16 isnt great but apparently he is a good player and once the 16 rolls out he will make money

111. TommyC99 says:

Got Murray, Kelly and Findlayson all to deal with this week, and only 28k in the bank. Other than Ed Phillips, any other rookies to downgrade to?

• Whatyasmokin says:

Doubt There's any…..what's wrong with phillips?

• HumanBob says:

Maybe think from left field Tommy and downgrade an under-performing 420-500k player to somebody about to increase by more than phillips who is probably also outscoring your under-performer. McKernan is an example ave over 100 only 300k about to increase by 50k. It's a 3-4 week gamble that could pay off hugely. He played 2 full games last year for 92 and 97 and has a 94 and 114 in his 2 games this year. keep him til his bye for the same profit as phillips but potentially double the points then easily upgrade to a genuin fwd premium

• Ahmad rubas says:

You could try cumming if you back him in as a player. Seems like he is a solid player and should stay in the side and once the 16 rolls out he should rise quite nicely

112. DANGER1VDUSTY2 says:

Darcy Slow-Burn Fogarty 204k – 48, 44, 44, 55, 45. (BE 23)
Thats consistent, consistently p!ssing me off!

J.Garlett just keeps sucking, got to 218k, now at 199k with a bust even of 59.

17 trades left with Murray and Naughton to kill, how many does everyone have left?

113. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Just gonna throw this one out there if u really want macrae.

Most of us have cogs and kelly.
Trading kelly to a rookie (phillps?) gives you enough to go cogs to macrae.

Trading two 100 avg players for a guy who is off the charts and a solid 60 pt rookie?

Hmmmm food for thought.

Is he gonna slow down or drop even a 110 so he falls a bit in price?

Was impressive the other night looks unlikely based on his current form.

If you are gonna pull the trigga better squeeze it now as he is heading over 750k soon.

• SC_Sixty6 says:

MACRAE reminds me of bitcoin. The higher the rise the harder the fall. He will come down. It's just a matter of how your team is compensating without him.

• DavidSA says:

Agree with 66 bringing him in now at that price tag will only be securing headache for getting full prem. We have missed the big scores and probably one last to come against Collingwood.

• The Ranger says:

More interested in shark moving him out Trigga.
Macrae down to Dusty is tempting.

• DavidSA says:

after Collingwood mate. That will be an insane move and one I would recommend to anyone in the top 500 who have him. Man the cash made and a high chance they both score similar after round 10

• The Ranger says:

I probably won't but gee it's a nice trade…grab Dusty and bank 200K

114. HumanBob says:

Here's some perspective for those thinking of giving it all away for the year. And a bit of self promotion.

I had a rubbish start to the year and after a low score of 1,929 in round 4 (1st game of leagues) I was ranked 22,150

Over rounds 5-9 I used 7 trades and my rank has increased to 636.
5 rounds and an increase of 21,000 ranking positions was easy (I had Buddy on the bench and chose the wrong captain every week)

so, if you can get yourself within 20,000 of number 1 by round 17 you're in with a genuine chance of winning the whole thing. Endurance and committment to the cause will get you there.

• RobDog says:

Well done on the ranking Bob, but looks like you might struggle over the byes.

• TommyC99 says:

That’s really good stuff mate! Although there’s a slight difference in making a run now compared to during SuperCoach finals. By round 17. The gap in points difference between rank 1 and 10k would be significantly bigger to the gap between the same 2 ranks early on. They have consistently scored higher than you over the course of 17 rounds as opposed to 4-5 rounds, thus making the gap larger.

• HumanBob says:

Nah I went from 30,000 in round 15 to 86 or 87 at the end in 09 or 10

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Hot shot! Everyone just quit now.

• Sc_Wow says:

Superstar!
So kind of the reverse of my scoring, maybe the luck will swing again who knows. Wouldn’t be expecting darling to keep this up

• Rick Grimes says:

Why do 66 and Wow alwsys comment immediately after each other? Split personalities?

• Sc_Wow says:

Grimes shut the f up. You go on about negativity yet I swear you’ve written that exact comment 10 times. Again we are mates. You call 17hrs 8hrs and 3hrs immediately after each other? Does no one else have a mate on this forum?

• Rick Grimes says:

Such an amazing coincidence tho. Maybe you and your "friend" have a telepathic connection. Forgot I'd asked that already. Seems to be a touchy subject, sorry. I'm not keen in negativity, but big noting is almost as bad.

• HumanBob says:

Luck has a habit of evening out the good and the bad. I've had a fair amount of good luck so far so I could be getting a knock back soon. BUT, I ended up in hospital twice over summer due to some ridiculous bad luck so maybe winning something is SC is the payback.

• Derek says:

Inspirational stuff. Well done.

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Thank god Bob! SW Rooster is still a chance while currently ranked 51k. Hope he can turn it around. Miss him.

115. Ahmad rubas says:

Murray out Phillips in via coffield DPP Kelly out dusty in good trades?

116. AFC1886 says:

Finlayson to Yeo
Or
Kelly to Danger?

117. HumanBob says:

Wow Thanks Russty
You put me onto this bloke in Feb (via your article) Seedsman is now Ranked 13th defender.
That's higher than Hurley, Sicily, Webster,Tuohy,Mills and McGovern
He was only 300k at the start and has now made 130k and he looks like a genuine D7 keeper and emergency M9.

• Porpoise says:

Interesting HB. He didn’t pick him????? Russty very quiet as he is licking his wounds.

• Russty_ says:

Hi Bob, no worries mate, I thought he might have a good season IF he stayed fit, because he's pretty talented, plus he's had plenty of opportunities to stay in the best 22 with all the Crow's injuries.
Porpoise, just because I wrote an article on Seedsman doesn't mean I had to pick him does it?
Not licking my wounds but for sure it would've been better to invest in the Seed over Bonner, cest la vie! πŸ™‚

• HumanBob says:

Yep most starting team selection decisions usually come down to the toss of a coin.=C2=A0 I also had Bonner for a few weeks, I don't have any patience at all with spud games in the first 4 and I had a shocker in round 4 this year. After a round rank of 560 in round3 my round 4rank was 117,402. When you consider that there are only about 156k active teams that was almost enough for me to quit. I had a rebuild instead and dumped everybody who spudded

• Russty_ says:

Well hell!, your rebuild has paid off I must say…I actually was tossing up between Bonner/Seedsman in the backline…or Armitage/ Seedsman in the mids, went Bonner to save money, and Armitage over Seed in the mids, and opted for Ellis Yoelman after 2 weeks of spuddy Armitage and then he got dropped.
Ellis Yoelman's been ok, is still averaging well and is now worth $460K, Him and Seedsman should probably be moved on soon though..for higher scoring premos.

• HumanBob says:

CEY was a great get. I considered him as M7 and Hogan F5 to start but instead I got Jack Steven and another rookie (Garlett) the points miss has been huge

118. Will says:

Thoughts on bringing in Darling?

• Finnius says:

too expensive now for me. Will chuck in a 40 one time soon enough then pick him up there.

119. JohnDJ59 says:

My rank is so terrible I don't think I will comment any more, since I can't seem to help myself, not sure how I can really give out any good advice.

• JugHead says:

Don't let rank bother you. All points of view add something to the mix. It might just be an observation that sets off a new train of thought for someone.
Nobody gets it right all the time. Case in point are the hotshots who said get rid of Nank because he would be a late out.

• Derek says:

Rank, schmank!

• Sandyf62 says:

Hey JohnDJ59, I know I am doing worse than you as far as rank goes, since we are in two leagues together, your team is better than mine, I would say our main problem is too many rookies on field compared to other teams. Looking back the main difference between us and the better teams was our starting lineups. Injuries have stuffed me this year, yes I know everyone has injures, but they seem to just keep coming, so that means using more trades, or putting them on the bench and losing points, so either way it affects your team. What I am saying John is just because your rank is crap doesn't mean you don't know what you are doing, so keep commenting, it's up to people if the take any notice or not.

• theRealPod says:

Well said Sandy.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Thanks for that Sandy, I feel better now, just that my rank is now what it was in my first season, when I didn't know what I was doing, yes it would be nice to be able to have our starting teams over again, although looking at it there isn't much I would change, my structures were about right, I nailed most of the rookies, mind you, I would have three different players, Hibbo, Billings and Tracca wouldn't be there and are no longer, but the rest were good picks, like you injuries have really damaged my team this year, had them last year as well, but seemed to manage it better, this year I seem to be on the back foot most of the time and now my trades are down to 14 and only have 100k in the bank, so not looking good.

• Russty_ says:

Hi John, don't worry about your rank mate, it'll improve, still over half the season to go, I enjoy your comments cause they're constructive and you don't get involved in the bickering negative stuff, cheers mate.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Hey Russty thanks for the endorsement, I just stay away from the negative stuff, no need for it, if I think I can help someone out I will. The rank part is a bit harder, when I've been going down since my best score for the season in round three and nothing I do seems to help, but like you said it's a long season, so just have to hang in there.

• Russty_ says:

Yeah bud don't stress about it, I played for about 7 years before I had half a clue haha, it was only after discovering JR's website I started to improve, before that I was the definition of insane, making the same mistakes over and over again, and expecting a different result..lol

120. Defying_Madness says:

I just realised why did bloody Oliver have to play today. Could have rested so his finger could heal I would have went Titch captain and Holman's score would have been the emergency.
He would be in an even better condition for next week as well grrrr

• DavidSA says:

Its the little things hey.. like GC playing Port so could not even loop Holman with Barry lol

121. FearTheBeard says:

Hi Community.

Can I get some opinions please.

Macrae, Fritsch (then has to play F6), Murray (D6)

OR

Play Philipps for a week, D Smith, Yeo (with money in the bank to upgrade a mid rookie to Macrae the following week)?

122. Rivo says:

Do we continue to hold spuds like Hibberd & Petrappa?

20 trades & $47k with 5 on-field rooks to cull. Macrae our of reach unless I do something crazy.

On-field rooks…

Finlayson, Murray, Fritsch, Higgins & T.Kelly.

Then there’s Henry, Garlett, Naughton on the pine.

So who goes first and where’s the value? Do we trade this week of hold for a bye frenzy?

123. Dan says:

Bring in Lloyd or Yeo this week?

• Rivo says:

Tough choice, Lloyd BE of 6 means he will go up $45k I be reaches projection. , while Yeo is about $30k more and close to his BE this week. Sydney has an easier run of games next couple of weeks. On that basis, go with Lloyd.

124. DavidSA says:

Hard decisions to make this round. Not moony rooks to look at

• Ahmad rubas says:

Phillips cumming if you think he can bounce back and have good JS

125. martin says:

Parfit back this week fellas???????

126. BadgerHoney7 says:

Byes have costed me past couple of years how many premos or players do you want playing each week??

127. Derek says:

Lack of cash is my main problem this year. I’m sure many others will be thinking the same.

As a result I’m sniffing around for a bargain or two. Looking at teams with Round 12 bye.

Now don’t laugh, but I am thinking about Josh Kennedy WCE. He is $366k. Darling is taking all the glory at the moment but we all know that won’t last. Kennedy had no preseason and is starting to look good.

There is always The Chad.

• JugHead says:

I can see the the attraction with Kennedy at that price. Risky for sure, but there is certainly value.
Chad on the other hand, is on my blacklist. He has burnt me to a crisp more than once.

• Mystic_Mac says:

I'll be looking at him after West Coast's bye.. has a lot of upside. Darling will not keep up this scoring imo. Kennedy fully fit is a proven premo forward.

• TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

I happy for fritsch to keep doing his thing at f6 at least up until his bye as change of roll onto the wing has done wonders for his scoring.

• Mick says:

Wait another week then get Walters at under $400k he's a bargain.

128. JugHead says:

Why do i have this nagging feeling that one of my premos who has been playing sore will get 2 weeks off during the bye period to freshen up for the business end of the season………….

129. FearTheBeard says:

Pieman my old mate, or anyone else who usually chips in some useful insight to help a fellow SCer!

Predicament I face!

Playing one of my best mates this week so keen to give him a touch up though same stage trying not to be stupid.

Do I go for Macrae this week if it means I must cut D Smith (in forwards) this week to get Macrae in! It would also mean I must hold Murray this week as D6!

OR

Do I get Yeo in for Murray. Keep D Smith as my potential F6 for the year and add 113k to the bank to go Macrae NEXT week or week after bye.

I have tried to break it down overall the keeping D Smith allows a potential F6 (average of 90+ isn't bad). Gets Yeo in for Murray (should be +40 for this week) .

Miss Macrae which means no doubt -70+ in the mid spot for him this week.

Though would Yeo over Murray & D Smith over Fritsch/Guelfri cover it?

OR

Do I cull D Smith, run with Fritsch as F6 , get Yeo NEXT week for Murray and get Macrae in now?

• BoltonsBlues says:

Yeo having scans this week for his knee, doesn’t sound good judging by his post match interview, wait till later this week to decide

• FearTheBeard says:

Thats BB.

Could then say same thing instead of Yeo/Webster…

It's more is it worth culling a potential F6 in D Smith to get Macrae NOW before he goes anyhigher.

Or is it better to lock in another premium over Murray and bank more to watchest and keep D Smith?

• INPieman says:

The MacRae train has well & truly left the station. Too much compromise involved to get him. Murray to Yeo is the move to make

• FearTheBeard says:

Thanks Pieman.

You heard anything about what BB said about Yeo's knee? If no go Webster?

• INPieman says:

Yeo's knee looked pretty good in the 2nd half. He can score big quickly

• Sandyf62 says:

You could do worse than having Fritsch at F6, 90, 65, 98, 87, in his last four games.

• FearTheBeard says:

Hi Sandy,

I get that. Though I don't think he is a perm F6. D Smith could well be…. Would you agree?

I want to convince myself to do it as I want Macrae badly lol. Though just can'tget my head around culling D Smith to do it! Yet anyway!

• Sandyf62 says:

Hi FTB, this is what I think and you can take it with a grain of salt, I personally will not be chasing Macrae, those who started with him or brought him in three weeks ago, well done, It has burned me so far, not having him, but them the breaks, I also have D.Smith, like most people and I think he will make a good F6.

• RobDog says:

I think that the smart thing is not worry about your mate, but concentrate on the season. Better to lose a round and beat him in the finals. Macrae is due for a couple of sub 150 point games and has the first bye. Depending on your trade situation I would be stacking the cash with a couple of downgrades and grab Macrae after his bye. Also, Devon Smith is a good D6, unless his wheels fall off I'd be keeping him.

130. Unknown says:

What should i do with crouch?
362k in the bank 24 trades left.

131. BlueBoy says:

At this stage of the season, how close in terms of points would you have to be to the top rank to have any chance of winning this year?

• Finnius says:

500 I reckon to be in with any shot.

• Boris_Baconbeer says:

I went from 86k in week two to 2.4k So I'm going to be very very angry if I dont win ;). Might blame CD then ;p.

• BlueBoy says:

Nice work Boris. I'm in a similar spot but started my run in week 4. I'm too far off the pace though to have any real chance though.

Haha yeah I've noticed a fair bit of CD bashing here. Pretty standard every year though.

• Boris_Baconbeer says:

Yeah It's a tough gig. It feels impossible when you get a rough start. But Im happy to see how close I can get.

I was guilty of CD bashing myself last year when I had Treloar and didn't have Bont. Kept thinking Treloar was being gimped and Bonts was the the mafia's sure thing. But I was wrong in hindsight. I was extremely frustrated which can cloud vision.

• Marty says:

I'm the staying type so I will be bide my time πŸ˜›

• RobDog says:

Can often make big ground over the byes if you set up right, but agree, any more than 500 behind now would be an amazing effort. I'm about 750 behind and haven't given up hope, but will take a lot of luck from here.

132. Hello? says:

murray for who? i already have loyd, laird, and yeo and doedee and murphy i have 300k in the bank.

• Steve says:

Luke Ryan

• Derek says:

Simpson for around $460k round 13 looks ok.

• Beezneez says:

I have the same dilemma. I have Laird, Hurley, Yeo, Doedee. Murray and Appleby on field. Torn between Simpson, Howe, Webster, McDonald and Lloyd. At least we have plenty of options. Simpson is cheap but leaves me one short in round 12 whereas the others don't make too much difference to that. Maybe look at what fits better with the byes in mind.

• Mick says:

Webster

133. SC_Sixty6 says:

As long as Rocky is fit he keeps Gray out of the midfield. I've enjoyed Gray's output since rd 2 but it's time he moved along. Cheers gray. Shark move!

• Mick says:

Gray to who tho?

• redherringfc says:

I wouldn’t do that. I’m bringing in Rocky, so he is sure to do something terrible and then Gray will be back in the points.

Look at what happened when I got rid of Zorko. I haven’t checked his numbers, but averaging about 120 and increase in value by about 100k, so far.

The SC gods are vengeful and they do not like me.

• Ahmad rubas says:

I agree but Rockliff is an injury prone player so every chance he gets injured and gray is back in the midfield

• prizza says:

Thought you new what you were doing , my slab is starting to look good

• SC_Sixty6 says:

My 1000$ is looking even better. 2 weeks and full premo. Train is about to storm home full steam ahead.

• DacZawson says:

I’m not one to join in the useless egotistical arguing, rather just to provide points of view on various questions asked by the community.

Sixty6 despite what other people think I’m loving this move for someone who’s right at the pointy end of the comp. Not gonna win anything going along with the pack.

Out of interest who are your forwards currently?

Best of luck

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Current premo fwds are McLean, Gray, Heeney, Sicily, Smith.

Sicily may or may not stay in fwds. Not quite sure yet.

Started McLean and had gray rd 2. Produced good scores until everyone jumped on.

This week I plan to bring in a fwd…..haven't chosen yet.

134. Andy says:

Thoughts on Howe?

135. TBone_9 says:

Hey guys, any rookies out of Ridley or T. Smith you’d go early on? Could just bring in Phillips this week on the bubble instead. Next week both trades with be used on bringing in Rocky and Walters. Cheers!

• Crowboy94 says:

Bring in Phillip's. He didn't get a great score on the weekend but he did still have 19 touches so if some other areas of his game improve he will score well and make cash.

• TBone_9 says:

Cheers Crow, I liked what I saw from the kid in his first game, just couldn’t get round to watching him this weekend!

• Macka says:

Be careful of Smith as he is injury prone.

136. Crowboy94 says:

What do people think if Murray to Crisp?

• BadgerHoney7 says:

not too sure about crisp, seems to show potential in a couple of games then produces some stinkers.

• Redpill5 says:

I’m doing exactly that this week crowboy. I like him as a pod. Howe had 5 frees for on the weekend and crisp has topped 30 posies the last 2 weeks. Collingwood has a pretty easy run over next 5 weeks except for the dees.

137. Sandyf62 says:

Looking at getting in Lloyd and Ryan this week, out of Kelly, Henry, Murray, Finlayson, Brayshaw and Hurley, which two would be the ones to go. I've tried all the different options and cant decide which way to go.

• seen_burns says:

Henry BE 87, and Murray or Finlayson both have slightly dropped off.

• Sandyf62 says:

Hi seen_burns, Henry and Murray were my first picks, then I saw Kelly had a BE of 120 and I'm also sick of having injured players on the bench, so I looked at Hurley who is set to drop 25k, I don't mind keeping Finlayson for now due to his dpp. I'ts really doing my head in.

• seen_burns says:

Also keeping Finlayson, might be D7 or M9 at the end of the year for me. Agree with theRealPod won't be rushing to trade Kelly but he'll be traded at his bye. So you should trade out Henry and Murray, hold on Hurley he's a premo.

• Sandyf62 says:

So pretty much go with my first plan, Murray > Lloyd and Henry > Ryan. I guess I should have just done that in the first place, but it doesn't hurt putting it out there.

• theRealPod says:

Don't rush to dump T Kelly, his b/e is not out of reach and he'll atone this week vs Blues. He is a potential M9. All Cats played below best.

• Sandyf62 says:

Hi Pod, yes you would expect Kelly to go big against the Blues, it was mainly how much he was worth, would give me a few dollars in the bank.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Hi Sandy, they are both good in's for your team, that's a few players you have there, all a bit different, three from defence, two mids and a fwd. Kelly has the highest BE, Henry and Murray have both maxed out but are getting games, Finlayson also but has dpp, Brayshaw isn't losing money, but not making any either and Hurley is injured and will lose cash when he comes back but should be classed as a premo. I can see why it is doing your head in, I'd go with your first idea of Henry and Murray since the other four have something going for them. Hope that helps you out Sandy, sometimes we can over think things.

• Sandyf62 says:

Thanks for that JohnDJ59, I like the way you went through the players I suggested, it did make it clearer for me, Murray > Lloyd and Henry > Ryan was my first plan of attack, but I found myself looking at other options as well, even thought about getting Cripps in, even though I cant stand the bighead, for some point generation.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Hey Sandy no worries, funny that you can't stand Cripps, neither can I and I also don't have him in my team for that very reason, though sometimes I wish I could bring myself to trade him in since I always seem to be up against teams with him in it. If you can bring yourself to do the deed and trade him in, it probably wouldn't be such a bad trade. I won't be though since I knew the eight midfielders that I wanted at the start and he wasn't one of them.

138. DavidSA says:

Out of Lloyd, Howe, Webster, Hurn and Tmac I can't decide tbh… all are capabel 97-103 for rest of the year.

Have Laird, Yeo, Sicily, Simpson, Shaw & Murray turns into one of the above stated… will fix Shaw later when full premo

• BadgerHoney7 says:

defense is same for me but instead have appleby over murray, shaw killing me sometimes, will also fix him in the byes along with JOM and Kelly.

• BadgerHoney7 says:

I'd say Lloyd/Webster your choice.

• DavidSA says:

Thanks mate I have had a look with both of them in my side and Howe. I'm wary of the 14 bye, makes it harder to choose

• BadgerHoney7 says:

the round 14 bye will make it much harder for a lot of us unfortunately, go for howe mate.

• Sc_Wow says:

I wouldn’t listen to this prentender Dave. Webster will drop off, Howe looks the best pick, and will suit your byes

• BadgerHoney7 says:

i dont know if you're just upset or you really think he will drop off. has scored 81, 106, 95, 112, 105, 132, 107 – hasn't showed any sign of slowing down champ.

• Sc_Wow says:

Scoring won’t keep being so favourable towards him, was lucky to get close to 107 on the weekend. Pick him up though mate. You’re obviously much better at SC than me

• BadgerHoney7 says:

i don't think any of us are here to be better than one and other, but to really be better than ourselves and attempt to beat our rank year after year.

• Sc_Wow says:

And to join sheep packs that bash on people ranked higher than them πŸ‘

• BadgerHoney7 says:

no ones here to gang up on you mate, but if you are going to be egotistical, unfortunately you're not going to have much supporters.

• Sc_Wow says:

25 comments on a post directed towards me. Before I’d even replied. Seems like ganging up to me. Also highly hypocritical, as much of what was said is far worse that what I say. πŸ‘

• BadgerHoney7 says:

the one thing I can say is I will never gang up on someone just because they're higher than me, they should be respected, but maybe some don't like the way you go about it, your ranking though is insane and is something that should be respected.

• Beaver says:

Don't worry about him Badger. He putting too much figjam on his toast these days.

• neil demons delight says:

Totally agree Badger Leagues are a big reason why many of us do it. To beat your yearly PB is also big. I am here for fun and to enjoy real banter not this rubbish . This site used to be just that loads of laughs not now

• BadgerHoney7 says:

this site has to much rubbish, needa get back to everyone trying to better than their own selves rather than everyone else

• theRealPod says:

Howe definitely the one out of that bunch.

• Sandyf62 says:

Hi DavidSA, it would be out of Lloyd, Howe and Tmac for me, I would feel safer with Lloyd, but Tmac would be a good POD, plus he has dpp.

• FFC says:

How about T.McDonald from Melb? Swingman with Sicily also.

• FFC says:

scratch that…already on the list – bad reading on my part…but looking to bring him in.

• BadgerHoney7 says:

thoughts on t mac, haven't been able to watch him the last 2, scoring big but if its a rough day for the dees how do u reckon he scores??

• Dice_real says:

No love for Luke Ryan?

• DavidSA says:

Would be love for Ryan if it were not for the 14 bye and thinking he will be 89-95 range for rest of year

• DavidSA says:

Not the worst D6 if you started with him

• Dice_real says:

Ah buggar. I'm getting him in this week, risky but I think he'll be a top 6. He joins laird yeo lloyd simpson and savage @ $450K.
Should never get the tag and is a good user. Howe very tempting though

139. Noah says:

Where should i upgrade first? I have to non premos in defence and 3 in fwd>

• DacZawson says:

Forward definitely

• Lazza says:

Hey Noah,
I'd go DEF first … reasons being:
There are a good number of downgrade options coming in DEF e.g. Ridley, Heron, Rice..
And the rookies, depending on who you have, are now fat for the slaughter e.g. Doedee, Finlayson, Murray, with others soon after.
There is more 'certainty' around the top DEFs than there is for the FWDs.
I doubt the Top 6 FWDs will be obvious for a few more rounds yet … and picking a wrong one now will be a critical mistake that you might not be able to fix ..

• Noah says:

Thanks Lazza. i will do that. Who do you suggest i upgrade to?

• Lazza says:

Depends who you have already and how your cash/trades fall… I’ll assume you have 4 of these already, so I’ll list in my order of preference…. Laird, Yeo, Sicily, Ryan, T McDonald, Howe, Lloyd, Webster, Simpson, Andrews,
I will have 4 of these in place this round, so you will be one ahead of me..
Switching either Sicily and TMac between FWD and DEF offers a good deal of flexibility too..

140. prizza says:

The banter is much better on a sunday when a few quiet ones are consumed,
66 you are on the slide and dont forget my slab, and rusty yours is a hungy.
And Wowzer if you had said you had a ounce of luck leading up to now and not dismissed it completely , well some would be a little easier on you, l

• Octa says:

Yes, much better than listening to show offs spewing advice.

• Sc_Wow says:

I forget if you have a decent team/rank or not? πŸ‘

• prizza says:

Ranking much worse than yours, but have been around yours in the past, not this year luck has deserted me.

• Doc says:

In light of recent comments and it being hard to tell what is sarcastic and what is not without facial and/or verbal cues I'd jut like to say before I ask this, I'm not trying to be sarcastic and am genuinely interested in your opinion, what do you classify as a decent rank? Cheers

• prizza says:

Hey Doc your probably asking wow but for myself i would say that if you have some years of experience most would look to be in the 2% bracket and be fairly happy. Others would be looking to win it of course but for that to happen lets just say you would have needed to be kissed on the backside by a fairy

• Jack says:

Oh c'mon thats unfair to say Wows been lucky. I mean he had Hurley out this week on top of losing Venables 4 weeks ago. Also, he doesn't have Macrae….which isn't exactly inlucky but must suck nevertheless

• Sc_Wow says:

Think you have my team wrong. Never had vena. I’ve had Greene kruser Zerrett however

141. Noah says:

Where should i upgrade first Defence or Forward? I have 2 rookies in defence and 3 in forward.

All suggestions appreciated!

• Sandyf62 says:

Who do you have on those lines ? then we might be able to help.

• Noah says:

Ive got finalsyson and naughton in defence and fritsch, higgins and henry in fwd.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Hi Noah I would be trading one from each, Naughton and Henry need to go. Finlayson and Higgins have dpp so are handy and Fritsch could end up a good F7, so keep for now.

• TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Bit of value on both lines to be honest.
Depends who you have on field to upgrade, cash available, bye structure etc.

142. KSinny says:

what are everyones thoughts on Shaun McKernan? has played 2 games with scores on 94 and 114, is priced at $305k and has a BE of -24. could pretty much do a straight swap for Henry. Thoughts community? not to mention a huge POD

• seen_burns says:

I'm thinking about it but not sure if he can keep it up and score enough to be a keeper or make enough money.

• JugHead says:

Just had a look at his stats. He is 27, so there is a fair body of history to look at and judge what a normal year looks like for him. The worst part is it doesn't look like he plays many games. Not what you want going forward.
History is… year/games/finishing average.
2009/1/42, 2011/16/50.3, 2012/6/57, 2013/9/67, 2014/2/47.5, 2015/9/83.7, 2016/6/51, 2017/3/79.3, 2018/2/104 so far.

Based on that, it looks like he is playing out of his skin at the moment and will revert to lower scores unless the Dons have a new pharmacist.

• JugHead says:

I wouldn't recommend anyone get him, but if you needed a ruck/fwd swing you could get Cox for a similar price. The Pies seem to have decided to play him every week this year.

143. Neverweaken says:

About 3 weeks ago I posted on here thoughts on getting Redden and Darling and got slammed. I hate everybody!!!!!

• DavidSA says:

News to me at least so I can walk away?

• Davo says:

Don't always rely on this place with all the sholl fish, Darling would of been a great pick up, in fact I am still bringing him in this week.

144. DavidSA says:

This still goin on? I said I ran out of popcorn darn it!

• BrownlowBoy says:

It just clogs the feed.

Think I'm gonna take a break from the site.

• DavidSA says:

just crazy cause it's only 9 rounds in lol
The last 9 rounds are x10 the difficulty

• BrownlowBoy says:

It's so unnecessary.

The comment section has just gone downhill on this website unfortunately.

• theRealPod says:

And can you guess what the common denominator is?

• DavidSA says:

I would say more like lost the plot. 40% of the feed is not even constructive or relevant to current issues of all things Supercoach that we can draw together and work on our next best moves and possibilities for our season.

Macrae is playing Collingwood… oh boy help us if he scores 160+

145. redherringfc says:

Buddy has a very achievable break even of 136. Playing the Lions.

I think 490 might be as cheap as he gets.

I’m going to welcome him aboard with the Vice Captaincy and hopefully I can reward Holman’s outstanding effort last week with the captaincy.

• Starky says:

I think you'll find Buddy will continue to reduce in price. Longmire has already stated that with his injury he'll be managing him back to full fitness over the next few weeks (so reduced game time). The lions went well against the Hawks but if Sydney do manage to get on top expect him to be used sparingly

• Sc_Wow says:

Yep spent last 10 on the bench vs freo.

• redherringfc says:

I might put him on hold for a week or 2.

I might go with Dusty this week, Rocky next and then, hopefully a not too expensive, Buddy.

• Derek says:

Have you seen Andrews play? Buddy won’t score 100 against him.

146. Hawks says:

Community appreciate your thoughts, my team is as follows-

Laird, Yeo, Hurley, Sicily, Mills and Cole, Murray & Murphy

Fyfe, Cripps, Mitchell, Kennedy, Martin, Coniglio, and Kelly, Spargo, Holman, E.Phillips & Coffield

Gawn & Nankervis

Gray, McLean, Heeney, D.Smith and Fritsch, Waterman, Ratugolea & J.Higgins

My plans include bringing in Simpson after his bye, to finish off the defence, Dangerfield into the midfield (once he bottoms out) and Oliver, Bont or Josh Kelly to finish off the midfield. But I am lost in the forward line, with 2 more to upgrade I am thinking 2 of Boak, Franklin, Menegola & Mundy.

I have $70k in the bank, and appreciate your thoughts on my next moves.

Prefer to trade out Kelly & Murray who have both hit their top price.

Thanks in advance

• redherringfc says:

Danger may have already bottomed out. SC gold has him dropping another 25k, but that is on the back of him only scoring about 110 per week.

Give it a few weeks and your other mid will become clear. Oliver will drop a bit after his lower score. JKelly will be a big POD and should drop a fair bit over the next few, if he ever gets over his injury.

I think Kelly still may have a roll to play in your team. He might even go close to his 120 BE this week.

Of the forwards you listed I can’t go past Buddy. BE of 136, playing Brisbane and only 490k.

I’d get Buddy this week and Danger next. But I can’t advise on who to trade out.

• JohnDJ59 says:

I agree with redherringfc as far as players to bring in go, but I would go the other way around, Danger this week, Buddy next.

• redherringfc says:

Yep, I was wrong. Buddy in a couple of weeks.

Of course he will now pump out a 170.

147. Holty01 says:

Welcone to my team Laird.
Been a long time coming
Now i know how Derek felt when he waited for Docherty's price to drop for 2 years and never did. I feel so much better now

148. Gav says:

Is Dusty's form about to turn? not sure what his break even is but he can't get much cheaper.

• redherringfc says:

He’s got a break even of 131.

Last year he scored 74 against the Saints, when Richmond got towelled up. (Ahhh, the glory days. Round 16, 2017, the memory will last a long time)

And he scored 146 in the return fixture, when the Saints were formulating their tactics for this putrid season.

Unless you see a miracle occurring, I’d say he may have already bottomed out.

• Gav says:

Thanks mate, I'm not a Richmond man, havent seen their past couple of weeks, was there any signs that make you think he's about to claw his way back into some form. I want to pull the trigger on him but don't want to trade in 70s to 90s purely to have Dusty on the team sheet.

• Ahmad rubas says:

breakeven is 130 and i think he should be top priority if you dont have him and you are trading kelly he may drop a little more but that will be offset with the kelly drop and more importantly round 11 and 12 will be rounds that you need to bring in any gold coast or port premos for bye structure

Coaches votes (1-5 from each) from Adelaide vs Bulldogs on Friday night:

ADELAIDE v WESTERN BULLDOGS
10 Eddie Betts (Adel)
7 Paul Seedsman (Adel)
6 Cameron Ellis-Yolmen (Adel)
4 Hugh Greenwood (Adel)
2 Rory Laird (Adel)
1 Bryce Gibbs (Adel)

Notice how Macrae isn't didn't pull even 1 vote?? Yet he was scaled superbly by Champion Data…

Sincerely,
Disgruntled (non-Macrae) Owner.

• redherringfc says:

Looking at those votes, you’d think only one team was playing.

• BadgerHoney7 says:

can't really say that though when both coaches vote, bevo obviously didn't think his performance was amazing either

• redherringfc says:

They got 26, he was probably too embarrassed to give his players any points.

Having said that, if you look purely at the score, only 1 team was playing.

• Sc_Wow says:

I’d agree with those votes

• Boris_Baconbeer says:

"isn't didn't" is a double negative which means he did deserve them. Conspiracy debunked with expert precision. ;P

150. Rick Grimes says:

Naughton and Kelly to Danger? Seems legit on paper but boy oh boy I haven't got many things right this year.

Also, any def downgrade options this week?

Many thanks.

• Sc_Wow says:

Rice and Ridley, but would be optimal if you could wait an extra week on them. 2 rookies for last years top scorer seems good to me. You’re welcome

151. Beezneez says:

Might seem like a stupid question but need confirmation. Any Port/GC players can be used as C loophole at any time during the round?

152. Andy says:

Too late for Macrae?

153. Dean says:

Trade Doedee or Murray?

154. THE SALTSHAKER says:

2399 ranked 827th for rnd, my 2nd top 1000 in a row after 2307 last week which was 555th for rnd.

Moved up from 20,000th 3weeks ago to 9600th to 6000th, to 1923rd overall

My last trades were Billings > Gray, GAJ > Macrae, Armo to Danger, Walters > McLean, Murray Sicily, Holman > Zorko, Petracca > Yeo

• Derek says:

Tick tick tick tick tick and tick. Nailed them all

Well done.

• THE SALTSHAKER says:

starting Nank over Grundy cost me about 300sc so far even though he has been solid…hoping to Nank > Grundy rnd 14

• The Ranger says:

Nice work Shaker!
Keep it up mate.

• THE SALTSHAKER says:

cheers boys, my mate moved from 80th to 26th, about 3 players different atm….i stuffed the start building Danger warchest early so had $369k then $507k just sitting there i had to take Dang early at $700k rather than wait another week where was gonna drop $40 to 50k as was killing my side. Also had 2 weeks with bad capts i had GAJ vs WCE who was on top 104 at 3/4 time then got inj. The following week i had titch first tag so both 90 odd cap scores rnds 3 & 4.

My mate thought everyone chasing Danger was going to cost them, better to fill out team first get him later, well i think he getting him this week.

155. Dan says:

What are peoples thoughts on Pendles in a week or two?

• JohnDJ59 says:

I traded him in a few weeks ago, just in time for his injury, bad timing on my part, if I didn't already have him then yes I would be looking at him in the next few weeks.

156. DavidSA says:

Rockliff tore a quad

157. BadgerHoney7 says:

where are u heroes, villians and the damned need u back

158. Crowboy94 says:

FWD or DEF POD?

If I trade Billings who should I go to?

159. Russty_ says:

Haven't heard anything about Oliver not playing next week with his broken finger..has anyone heard any news on that?

• dognino says:

He had the surgery last week and got up for the game, don’t see why he’d be out if he’s already played post surgery.

• redherringfc says:

He broke it the previous week. Had surgery on it last Monday. So he should be fine.

• Russty_ says:

Cheers guys thanks, hopefully it's not so sore this week.

160. Tommo says:

Thinking Murray and Dow for Lloyd and Phillips this week
I’m a swans supporter and I love Lloyd’s role. Lots of possies and the swannies love playing through him

Thoughts?

161. Tiggers Footy Hunt says:

Need to bring in a keeper at DEF 5 this week. (Cant afford Naughton to Yeo in 1 trade though)
Option 1 – Murray – Yeo (cole d6) bench Naughton + Duman
Option 2 – Naughton – Simpson (murray d6) bench Cole + Duman

162. Tiggers Footy Hunt says:

Rockliff are people serious?
Not worth the headache, guys like him and Wingard, Hall, Shaw, Ablett (injuries) etc are blacklisted forever – they are who they are.
How did Deledio work out?

163. Marty says:

Kelly you have served me well. Welcome aboard Danger time to kick some a$$

• Russty_ says:

Nothing wrong with that call Marty…if Kelly goes low again, you're losing money.

• Marty says:

Agreed. 120 BE but I understand other people in holding him or as a keeper. Kelly's efficiency was down so expect better scores next week but losing him gets me Danger who looks to have a good draw coming up (Carlton this week). It also means I can keep Holman and Spargo who will make much more money.

164. Marty says:

Anyone see the Bombers game or barrack for them?
What is Ridley's js and can he pump out other good scores? Tossing up between going early on him or going Phillips using Finlayson. Would assist round 14 but I would have to play him on field and I'm not sure I want to take that risk.

Feedback appreciated fellas.

• DavidC says:

He was good and they won but you would have to worry about what happens when Hurley comes back in.

165. FearTheBeard says:

So cull Kelly & Henry for Danger & Phillips?

OR

Cull Murray & Kelly for Yeo & Phillips & bank 113k for an upgrade in coming weeks go Danger or Macrae in?
