We spend a lot of time on the rookies you need to nail, as well as discuss players like Hibberd, Rockliff and Dahlhaus you need to flick and the players you need to bring in – if you can.

Strap yourself in and keep your hands and feed inside the cart of all time as we take you on a whirlwind tour of your Supercoach side.

What are your trades this week, community? Who’s facing the wrath of your trigger finger?

1. Super says:

Stef martin do i trade to grundy

• NoLanguage says:

Hold Stef he's a mountain will come good

• liamphillips35 says:

He's not going to be the last ruckman to struggle against Gawn

• r_calve says:

nah stef is a tad inconsestent but isnt playing on gawn every week

• Carleton says:

Do not trade to Grundy. Yes, Grundy had a great game, but that was because Mason Cox was suspended. Cox will be back next game and will halt Brodie's scoring.

2. nickgonzalez771 says:

I went in with the mindset of being ultra-conservative with trades this season but now I find myself with a very juicy trade possibility which will see Lambert and Naughton shown the door for a more promising rookie in Murphy and getting in Dusty before his price goes north. These are top priorities and I'm still left with 30K so I'm not too doubtful about them but what are your thoughts?

• NoLanguage says:

If you can get Dusty for Lambert do it. I'm pondering the other trade myself, may be a waste of a trade depending on how long you think Murphy will stay in the side

• neil demons delight says:

doing the same go for it

• b_sh3p says:

I am keeping Lambert, I have faith he'll be a keeper long term but can see the temptation.

• nickgonzalez771 says:

Definitely, there's no harm in it. I wanted to stick, but the offer was too much to not take in my own opinion. I sincerely hope he turns that workrate into a better SC output.

• THE SALTSHAKER says:

murphy had 6d (32sc) and 10d (80sc) that looks like a bit of plump in that score. He is cheap but a slow burn. Naughton should hold his spot, has played WAFL seniors will adjust. Jong and a few others be under more pressure with Wallis returning.

Get Dusty over Lambert though

3. Ameoba says:

Hi there.
What is best please.
Sicily to Gray or Sicily to Taranto
The former is to a definite premium but is the later a sideways trade?

• NoLanguage says:

Why would you trade Sicily after two weeks and a 93 ave? You got him for a reason.

• Tyruddanaut says:

Hold. It’s only a week

• THE SALTSHAKER says:

Sicily will beat up on teams keep him, avg 93 anything over a 90 is a pass for a fwd

• Whatyasmokin says:

Haha yep he will beat up on them thats why hes having a week off. I trusted my flogometer and look round frickin 2 hes already doing stupid crap…….

4. Gibbs says:

Looking to make some rookie corrective trades. Do I trade Naughton/ H. Clark via dpp to Murphy? Is it worth it and which of the 2 should I trade Is Fogarty worth getting as well?

• fcabel says:

I’d be happy to trade both out if you’ve missed one cows or can upgrade

• Whatyasmokin says:

Get rid of clarke. Neither Fogarty is a must have.

5. VFL says:

71k salary cap.
C.Rayner (202k) out

Z.Fisher (263k) in.
OR Waterman (123k), Langdon (117k), Gowers (117k) Fogarty (117k), Barry (117k).
And Pocket the cash.
(I have all the other decent rookies FWD and MID)

• Derek says:

Only two types of players, keepers and cash cows. Which one is Fisher?

• Sc_Wow says:

Watch everyone try get fisher in after this podcast

• Daniel Z says:

I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but I feel like a lot of people are jumping on him and Bonner. While they might keep up their scoring and make the required cash generation, I think there is too big a risk they have a bad game or two and they (a) get dropped; and / or (b) stop making money.

I think in the early rounds everyone has this fear of missing out on this year's big players / rookies; combined with not having hit the trade button in months, it can lead to snap decisions that end up hurting long-term.

• Tyruddanaut says:

A combination

• fcabel says:

Like fisher

• Luke says:

Zac Fisher lol

• Fabian says:

I'd go with christensen (267k). He's got a breakeven of -10

• Patch says:

Prefer a rookie over Fisher when push comes to shove. Geelong's Fogerty for mine

6. BrownlowBoy says:

Suggestions for trades this week?

Sitting on 30 trades with 107k in the bank.

Laird, Hibberd, Sicily, Doedee, Murray, Finlayson, Naughton, Murphy
Dangerfield, Mitchell, Kelly, Oliver, Fyfe, Brayshaw, Kelly, Holman, Banfield, Barry, Garlett
Gawn, Nank, Olango
Heeney, Billings, Walters, Smith, Taberner, Fritisch, Langdon, Ryan

Suggested trades or any feedback is much appreciated.

• NoLanguage says:

Good side. I'd be inclined to leave it alone and save trades unless you go Naughton to Bonner but I think he's overhyped.

• b_sh3p says:

With Bonner, pittard has to come back in soon which may affect his scoring so I agree.

• joe444 says:

Bonner has a breakeven of -41 and is expected to go up in value by over $50k next week.

He may not be in their long-term best 22 post-bye, but I wouldn't call that overrated from a Supercoach perspective.

• Patch says:

Personallt will send him packing by his bye. Elevated cash cow for mine.

• Patch says:

What are your thoughts on Hibberd, BB? Personally would turn him into Heath Shaw or Kade 'The Sleeves' Simpson with that side (which is excellent btw)

• BrownlowBoy says:

Thanks Patch, yes Hibberd is a concern. I did ask about him below on the second page I think. He isn't scoring as well as I would have liked. Could turn him into Simmo.

I also heard that Devon Smith had scans this week? Not sure what for.

7. NoLanguage says:

Would love to hear your thoughts on trades or no trades this week guys!

B – Laird, Hibberd, Savage, Doedee, Finlayson, Murray (Naughton, O'Connor)
M – Dusty, Mitchell, Fyfe, Parker, Cripps, Coniglio, Kelly, Holman (LDU, Banfield, Barry)
R – Martin, Gawn (Cameron)
F – Heeney, Walters, Smith, Sicily, Christensen, Fritsch (Venables, Langdon)

Scored 2359 – 30 trades with $20k in the bank. Questions I'm pondering are:

1) Naughton to Murphy and bank $60k?
2) Venables to Ryan?
3) Back in who I've got and save trades?

Any feedback or suggestions hugely appreciated.

• Davo says:

I would leave your side as it is. Back it in and save trades.

• Derek says:

you are looking good

very bold to start Parker, Cripps and Coniglio

• b_sh3p says:

Agree with others to hold you've got a great side. Many trading Hibberd for Simpson but I'm keeping him and unlike last year where I wanted to make 10 trades I'm keeping the faith and doing none this week…. For now! LOL. Venables to Ryan seems too sideways for me but can see the temptation

• NoLanguage says:

Thanks guys. Gut feel was to hold, trades are gonna come in very handy when the inevitable carnage hits.

8. Josh says:

Got a few issues so not too sure what to prioritise:

Laird, hibberd, savage, doedee, murray, finlayson (naughton, keefe)
Mitchell, crouch, Merrett, Fyfe, Cripps, Parker, kelly, Holman (brayshaw, Barry, banfield)
Kreuzer, Gawn (olango)
Heeney, billings, Maclean, Bell, fritsch, Giles-langdon (Garlett, ryan)

Hibberd, naughton, crouch, Kreuzer and bell are probably the main ones I’m looking to move on, but not too sure what to do

• Daniel says:

Do you have any cash in the bank? If not, dump Bell (you have the forward rookies, so you'll have to sideways (Christensen or Fisher) or upgrade). If you want to upgrade, go Crouch-Coniglio or Kreuzer-Nank (or something similar) and then bring in one of DSmith, Petracca, or CCurnow for F4. Definitely wait to see if Crouch or Kreuzer get up for this week though.

I wouldn't worry about Hibberd (yet) as 2 90's-100's will end his slide.
Naughton can wait – he's not that far off, as long as he keeps getting games (he'll just be a slower burner on your bench).

• Josh says:

78 k in the bank
If crouch and/or Kreuzer are out injured, would it be worth holding either if it will only be a few weeks?

• Stirlsy says:

Crouch said to be 4 weeks Kruz might be another 1 or 2

• Daniel Z says:

That is not good news… is that from the clubs' websites?

At 4 weeks, Crouch should go, Oliver would be almost straight-swap, or could upgrade to Dusty (or d/g to Coniglio if you don't have him).

Kreuz is a tighter call but a groin injury with a big man is troubling as it could hamper him once he is back. What are people's thoughts on replacements? Nank?

• NoLanguage says:

Not Crouch, too much cash sitting on the pine for a month. Maybe a straight swap to Sloane or downgrade him to Coniglio

• Paul says:

Kreuzer will play this week. Will smash Grundy too.

• b_sh3p says:

Agree that Hibberd is too sideways, I have him and he's sure to come good

• fcabel says:

Kreuz, Crouch & Bell. I’d be looking at downgrading Kreuz and upgrading Crouch to Dusty or Danger. Look at Bell next week

9. Freddie says:

Does anyone know what Murphy’s JS is at Adelaide. Who do Adelaide have to come in to take his place over the next few weeks?

• CalebCripps922 says:

I'm Thinking his JS is pretty decent now with Mckay and Crouch going down.

• Derek says:

he is playing for his AFL life. only 10 touches on the weekend probably not good enough, but did score a couple of goals at a crucial time.

• SW Roosters XXX says:

Job security in the short term looks okay, with a couple of injuries at Crows on the weekend on top of Murphy making a reasonable contribution.
Murphy is far from a "must have rook' though….. Would have thought his ceiling is 80 and most scores likely to be in the 40 to 60 range….. He will make some $$ but not at a rapid rate I wouldn't have thought……

• Crowboy94 says:

Good JS. Has played his role well, don't see anyone kicking him out of the team atm

• Cam_H says:

Difficult to tell, especially if they're happy to replace a small with a tall (e.g. Tom Lynch, Andy Otten).

Smaller players on the immediate horizon include; Richard Douglas (back from suspension), Jordan Gallucci's been pressing for selection, Reilly Knight's injury seems to be now fixed but they'll play him through the SANFL. Matthew Signorello may be another rookie who may move into consideration at some point. In a few weeks there will be a few other guys like Sam Gibson too.

I'm hoping he can keep up good form, as it seems he's very determined to stay in the team if 'reports' are to be believed.

10. SCDemon says:

Gday Community,

Need some advice

Laird, Hibberd, Bonner, Finlayson, Murray, Doedee (Naughton, Keeffe)
Martin, Mitchell, Kelly, Oliver, Fyfe, Brayshaw, Kelly, Holman (Banfield, Barry Garlett)
Gawn, Naitanui (English)
Heeney, Walters, Petracca, Sicily, Cox, Ryan (Giles-Langdon, Fritsch)

I have seemingly nailed all the 'must-have' rooks', and I am left with a whopping $447k ion the Warchest.
Only made the 1 trade (Ryder to Nic Nat).
My question is how do I best use my bankroll.
Assuming English will suffice as Ruck Cover (is JS ok???), I am weighing up 2 options.

1) downgrade Cox to non playing RUC / FWD to swing with English & upgrade any mid rookie to Dangerfield.

2) downgrade Cox to non playing RUC / FWD & use the $650k ish to pick off 2 cheaper options (Zerrett / Parker types in coming weeks)

I feel the points yield will be greater with option 2, however I want Danger in my side come seasons end. Option 2 needless to say prevents this from happening anytime in the foreseeable future.
Alternatively, open to other suggestions.
(Not sideways trading including Hibberd!)

Thoughts, PLEASE Community?

Cheers

• TheScacman says:

Hard not to see danger in the top 3 players across Supercoach come seasons end, scored a 130 on one leg while playing a fair bit in the forward line. Bring the man in

• Derek says:

if he has the same umpires every week, he will score 130's without any legs.

• fcabel says:

First option. Lock it

• TIGESB2B says:

Dangers BE is 181 this week.

• Patch says:

Demon, I reckon Danger will be cheap enough in four weeks to pick off at 650k if you've got some bank. I'm pro-option two with a cheap Zerrett and then Danger a few extra weeks down the track myself.

• Daniel Z says:

Doubtful you'll see Danger at 650k in four weeks. To drop that much, he'd have to average around 105 for four weeks. Can't see that happening unless he gets injured. More likely you'll be looking at him around 700k.

11. Jim says:

O’Mera for Coniglio?

12. Northerner says:

Last year if you had projections on, it would show expected price changes on your players instead of their current price. Anyone know why they've changed it or is there somewhere else it shows up? Thanks

Looking to hold trades as have all the rookies, but one will gnaw at me at week: Lobb to Christensen. Leaning toward getting one more sample size as Lobb's BE is not high and Christensen' price will be held down a little by his first round 60odd. The extra $130k is looking attractive to assist in getting Danger. Thoughts welcome.

• Daniel Z says:

If Lobb and Christensen score at their current averages (78 and 84, respectively), Lobb's price will not change but Christensen goes up around 30k (it jumps by the same amount the week after as well). So if you wait a week, that 130k becomes (probably) 100k.

• Northerner says:

Cheers. That was what I was thinking. And I don't need the cash for a few rounds yet. I think the $30k extra is worth the additional info on both and an extra week of knowing whether you need to cover for injuries or not.

• Northerner says:

BTW. I found the cash detail. It's on the analyser tab under cash cows. Gives you BE and projected price change. I have a projected $975k increase. Only Lobb and Fyfe to drop and both have achievable BEs. Hypothetically, if I traded Lobb for Christensen it'd be over a million!

Plenty of cash around. Let's hope that

• Northerner says:

….rookies emerge for downgrades and we haven't used them all up early.

• fcabel says:

Hold

13. Rick Grimes says:

Is Coniglio essential? Gonna make a sweet load of cash and scoring like a premo.

• gator59 says:

He's not essential Rick, But if it's cash your after then it could be a good option
Not knowing your structure who are you trading to make this work for you

• INPieman says:

Not essential Rick. Your not picking him as a cash cow at 450. Only if you think he's a top 10 mid. Which he might be

• SW Roosters XXX says:

Pieman has nailed it..
Cogs is not a cash cow – if you are bringing him in for that purpose you are basically committing two trades to him one to get him in and then one to get rid of him….

Appeal of Cogs is – could he potentially be a Top 10 mid? I think he can be very close to the mark. If that is the case getting a premo mid for $450,000 has a lot of appeal and could speed up the process of getting to full premo…….

• Derek says:

If he slots into M6 get him.

• fcabel says:

Get him in

• NoLanguage says:

Get the man in. He's playing like a madman and will be GWS #2 mid behind Kelly IMO. Could easily be a top 10 mid by season's end

• Valens_FC says:

Always scores well when he’s fit. He’s cheap because he gets injured a lot. That’s the risk…. and will hurt more if you traded for him vs started him.

14. StevoRivo says:

Naughton & Lambert to Bonner & Gray? Or do I persevere? Also Holding Hibberd at D2 for now. But trades are gold, they are not injured, and I can leave Naughton on bench and hope Lambert comes good?

15. Jim_bob321 says:

Hello community,
Should i be making 2 trades… Naughton to Bonner and Brayshaw to Kelly
OR
Just be making the one trade and getting Kelly
Thanks community

• Crowboy94 says:

Just trade for Kelly. Leave Naughton on the bench.

• INPieman says:

If you don't have Tim Kelly you trade your family, body parts or whatever to get him in & on field. Best rookie since Barlow

• neil demons delight says:

Forgetting Oliver PIES. finally got the team I should have started with Traded Lambert for Martin . Was reluctant and gave Gator's idea of Petracca a lot of thought and the 14 bye. Now every trade will have to be done with Round 14 in play

16. Jordan says:

Thoughts on Tim tarranto (mid/fwd 365k) scores 104, 115.
Thinking of going Rayner to him

• Sc_Wow says:

Think he’s a keeper? Or else you’re using 2 trades on him

• TheScacman says:

I'd go Rayner to Christiansen if you're going to make a trade like that, will save you 100K, and christiansen will be around the mid-high 300K range in about 3 weeks time, which makes him perfect for a downgrade or an upgrade

• fcabel says:

If you think you can keep him it’s a great trade

17. Crowboy94 says:

Should Lambert be traded? Seems to be struggling a lot.

• INPieman says:

You should never have had him in the first place. If you don't think he's going to be a top 8 Fwd then get rid of him now, I would

• Crowboy94 says:

I'm thinking of trading him to Mclean. Seems to be playing a lot of midfield.

• Sc_Wow says:

Shhhh pieman don’t tell them all

• INPieman says:

Deleted now. If they were lucky enough to read it in the 20 minutes it was up then lucky for the viewer

• Daniel Z says:

Now I'm curious just because you deleted it.

• TheScacman says:

Very happy i went with McLean at F3, even though he came at the expense of Curnow, he's well and truly performed for me Pieman

• b_sh3p says:

I am keeping Lambert. He's been racking up the k's in the midfield so he's fit, just needs to find the ball. Time will tell but holding him and Hibberd to ride out the storm

18. Kyle says:

What are your thoughts on Merrett and Zorko boys? Considering bringing Oliver and Cripps for both of them since they’ll drop in price a lot. Cheers

• Sc_Wow says:

Why does it matter if they drop in price? If you never sell them their price is irrelevant

• TheScacman says:

If you can bring in that cash before they lose value, it becomes valuable in terms of upgrading other players. Given Cripps is scoring like a midfield Premo at a reduced price, that 70K you get by bringing him in for Zorko means that it can go elsewhere on the field

• Sc_Wow says:

I think that trade is worth more than 70k. You’ve got to back your premos in. Sideways trading all year will leave you with no trades left by the byes. If you’re rookies are set you should have no issue making cash.

19. Starky says:

I’m really keen on the communities advice.
At the beginning of the season I decided that I would trade Dangerfield down to Josh Kelly and keep the money to bring him back when he showed his fitness. To be honest, I didn’t think it would be this quick but I’m content to lose a trade.
As a result I’ll trade back up this week and then trade Lever down to Bonner. Would anybody keep Lever in my position?
Bonner at the moment looks like he’ll score more points this season and would be a good stepping stone.
I have used 0 trades and have all the scoring rookies

• neil demons delight says:

Danger wont go up yet and then not much To be honest as great a pick up as he was for the dees he is pretty much irrelevant for S C

• INPieman says:

If you didn't start Danger, you wait. Despite his 130 he has a BE of 181. And that's because the algorithm used on starting price of previous years AV times 5.5 drops in round 3. I think it drop to 5.1. So unless a player significantly out performs last years Av they will fall in price. It's inevitable

• Wedge says:

Say if danger was to score another 130 in Rd 3 what would his b/e become the following week? Trying to decide if it's worth waiting for his price drop.

• Daniel Z says:

Pieman's right, the premiums almost always drop (a bit) in price as the rookies start to take more of the overall pie (sorry, I couldn't resist). If Danger puts up two more 130's, he will drop around $20k; continuing with that scoring until round 6 sees him level off just under $700k.

• Starky says:

Thanks guys

20. BoltonsBlues says:

If you consider Naughton your only problem and can get Bonner, is it worth doing?

• TheScacman says:

Absolutely. Rookies are there for cash generation, and Naughton isn't going to end up beyond around 200ish come season end if he pumps out scores like this, whereas Bonner is the perfect stepping stone to a premium, or even a D5-6 come season's end

• Derek says:

do the maths. Bonner won’t make much more than Naughton.

What do you think they will both score over the next 5 weeks?

Give me some numbers and I’ll do the maths for you.

• TheScacman says:

Bonner with a breakeven of -44, will score mid 70s at lowest you'd think given his role, which should see him score between 350-400 over the next 5 weeks conservatively. Bonner to make 100K in the next 3-4 weeks, with around 120-140 over the next 5. That has him just short of 400K (probably around 380k mark)

Naughton to score 40 points a week, bringing him to 200 over the next 5 weeks. wouldnt even make you 50K on those numbers, bringing him up to 210K

Bonner is the running defender in a team that sees a reasonable amount of the ball, and will average around 20 odd touches a game, with a high kick/handball ratio which makes him hugely SC relevant (kicks, rebounds from 50, running bounces)

Naughton is a young key back in a team with little defensive structure who are getting belted. Naughton not having the intercept role that he was potentially earmarked for preseason by the SC community (low disposal tally, poor defensive numbers)

• Pitch72 says:

Top wright up Scacman, totally agree, if you can get Bonner in do it, Naughton is a slow burner and a bad one at that, could use Bonner as a stepping stone before rd 14 anyways if his form drops of.

21. Ryan says:

Trade or keep Hibberd?

• FranklinShow says:

Hold, you are likely to trade to another premium backman who has a few ordinary weeks and Hibberd scores well. Give him a month at least then if still under performing look to move on.

• Disco says:

Disagree, he is playing a different role with Lewis and Lever in the backline, not taking kick-in which stops his link ups, and not playing the QB role he did last year and with Bombers. Unless this changes fast you're only going to be able to make a sideways trade to a mid $400k Def. Hurley/simpson playing better scoring roles currently.

• ToneStar says:

Keep. Seasons end, you’ll be happy having that trade there.

• Derek says:

Must hold

• b_sh3p says:

I am keeping him although trade to Simpson is tempting… Short term!

• Stirlsy says:

Messing it up but gotta keep him ATM his going to leak cash but ya have to back ya premo's in for more then 2 weeks…… The temptation to trade is high tho very high.

22. FranklinShow says:

Started with armitage and cyril (i know mid price madness) but took a punt. Both have failed. I dont have Liam Ryan or Bonner. So was thinking following:

Rioli to L Ryan.
Armo to Bonner via Finlayson.

Thoughts??

• TheScacman says:

big yes for both, other option is to go Armo to Coniglio

• Derek says:

I’m glad someone started with Cyril. I’d love to say hold him, he hasn’t played for a long time, missed a lot of pre season, hawks have a really great run of games after Richmond, but he not making money and he not a keeper.

• FranklinShow says:

Massive hawks man and got Rolls with my blinkers on thinking he would produce what he has always produced. Love him as a player but not sure he is SC relevant anymore.

Scacman – Already have cogs, Armo looks like he will avg around the 80 mark which means only a 50-$100k increase which isnt worth it when I could have bonner who could go up $200k in the next 3 weeks.

23. Done & Dustied says:

I am looking at trading Crouch to Cripps and Cameron Raynor to Justin Westoff, Westoff is scoring well and appears to be taking on more of the ruck duties with Ryder out for a while. Talk me out of it please.

• r_calve says:

if your looking for a forward option go for toby McLean, he is playing more midfield and is cheaper than Westhoff

• fcabel says:

I like the trade idea. Not sure on Westy. I’d go another fwd promo. If you feel him though why not

24. Cam says:

What's everyone's opinions on brayshaw (freo), will he slowly get used to the standard or stay the same?

I have most rooks apart from: L.Ryan, Bonner, L.Fogarty

I don't think Ryan is a must get so will leave him, but from what I saw of naughton he just isn't cut out for it.

So am trading naughton to Bonner. Is it worth the trade?

• Da Boysh says:

i won't be,

He will make cash eventually I dont need him on field.. wont be wasting that trade.

• Derek says:

Bradshaw can play.

He kicked a 50m pass laces out across his body at full pace yesterday (not sure who to). I thought of Patch who would have said “he is good at the kicking thing”

• David C says:

No

25. On the ball says:

Peoples thoughts on Westhoff?

26. TheScacman says:

Thinking of trading Hibberd down to Bonner as both a cash grab, and that Bonner is scoring around the same rate in the same role, and using the money to upgrade Jack Graham to Coniglio, thoughts community???

• r_calve says:

get coniglio, no matter what, he will end up scoring in the 105- 110 average

• Hegs says:

I've made the Hibb to Bonner trade and banking the cash to grab Danger in a few weeks. Long term play but I'm scarred from Shaw last year.

27. Jdjsh says:

Hibberd for Shaw
Naughton for Bonner
?
Thoughts on the trade, don’t wanna throw away Hibberd so early but heater at his price looks like he needs to be picked up

28. r_calve says:

what does everyone think about Taranto, is he a good option and should i downgrade zorko or merret to someone like whitfeild or gibbbs

• David C says:

Keep Zorko and Merrett. I like Taranto, attending center bounces and good JS now Scully has gone down. Good POD.

• Ja191 says:

Whitfield is an interesting one, without big last quarters in the last 2 weeks he could have been looking at 70-80. Hope he can maintain a 105-110 average

• fcabel says:

I’d hold z man

29. Steeeve says:

What is my best option in your opinion?

1. Hold Naughton and Andrew Brayshaw
2. Brayshaw down to a cheaper rookie and Naughton up to Bonner

I have most of the good rookies already. Don't have Waterman, Venables, O'Connor, L Fogarty… worth bringing them in so I can upgrade Naughton? And if Naughton keeps averaging about 50 from here on how much cash should he make?

• r_calve says:

hold, Brayshaw he has only had 60% gamnetim ein both the games, if that gets up which it should, then his scores will

• b_sh3p says:

Wasted trades for me

30. MRmoMAN says:

Well im trading out merret cos idgaf 🙂

31. Derek says:

I don’t have Naughton, but I say hold him. His 25 first round score will be gone next week so even if he scores 50’s and 60’s he will make you $100k.

I think he will improve. Already had a better game this week, did a few good things and his JS is good. He was even thrown forward for a bit on Saturday. You just need one good score from him to make good coin. The dogs draw is good for the next 6 weeks, 5 home games!

Bonnars big first round score will be gone next week, so his BE might be pretty high next week once the first round drops out. Might not be the cash cow people think by looking at his BE now. He is a very high priced rookie and I can’t see him giving a very good ROI. He was lucky to get over 70. If he continues with 70’s you will make a bit more cash than Naughton but not worth a trade.

If you have Bonnar, you will feel as though you need to play him, where you can just park Naughton on bench and let him slow burn.

• Liam Jones says:

Agree completely hear derek

• Raza# says:

So Derek. I shouldn’t trade Naughton to Murphy? I hope Naughton gets selected over the next couple of weeks. I am a little concerned at Murphy’s JS in a strong Crows side.
I have three high priced rookies so I am not going near Bonner.
Reading all the trading going on gives me an itchy finger but I haven’t had an injury or made a trade yet!!!!
I have read your comments before and you sound as if you know what you are writing about.
Good luck.

• Derek says:

you will see the wise old heads always talk about holding your trades. it is hard to not trade when you have 30 trades left. So to make an easy trade Naughton to Murphy and make $80k seems like a no brainer, especially when the same wise old heads are saying you need to make cash and trade to full premium asap.

firstly Murphy's JS is questionable. Only 10 touches on weekend, will do well to hold his place in the team. if he does, he won't kick two goals every week and will be a low scorer, say 40's at best. If he holds his place and gets 3 more weeks, you are looking at a $120k increase.

Naughton is a key position player, not good for SC. But every few games they will have a decent score and as a rookie player that is what you are waiting for. If Naughton can have an 80 like Murphy did and importantly have that in his price calculation for 3 weeks, that will alone get him a $100k increase. More realistic is a 60 average for him. he will get better and i saw he improved alot from week 1. at a 60 average for the next 3 games he will make $85k.

so you are looking at about a $35k difference. plus Naughton has good JS and you might want to hold him a bit longer and hope he has that one big score.

There are alot of people looking at Naughton's BE and Bonnar's BE and thinking that is an easy trade. Once you factor out of the price equation next week Bonnars massive first round score and naughton's crap first round score, the BE's after next week will be a whole lot different, Bonnar may only get this week as a price increase and struggle to make next weeks' BE.

• pod says:

Bonner not playing Swans every week

• Derek says:

he was very lucky to even get 70, junk goal late

• SW Roosters XXX says:

Maybe so… although wouldn't call it a junk goal…. Also agree with sentiment of pods post in that Port Adelaide will not be playing Syd every week….

As demonstrated in Round 1 at home v Freo – when Port get hold of teams he has the potential to score heavily….

Wouldn't move heaven and earth to get Bonner in – but I am content having started him…. Heavily contested style and slightly heavy track v Sydney in Rd 2 wasn't ideal for Bonner…..

Like the look of Port Adelaide draw in coming weeks in terms of Bonner scoring potential can see him getting plenty of ball this weekend v Lions at home, then have Essendon at Etihad (fast deck tailor made for Bonner), followed by Cats at home and then North also at Etihad, then another big deck and dry surface over in the west…..

I can see Bonner easily averaging 90+ over the next 5 weeks – which see him appreciate very nicely to the point that after Round 9 trip overseas v Gold Coast he will have made enough cash to trade out prior to his bye if he has not reached keeper status…..

• Derek says:

if you have him you are ahead of the pack. my comments were directed to people who were trading out a perfectly fit player to Bonnar just for cash generation.

• SW Roosters XXX says:

Agree mate – hence why in my comment I said I wouldn't move heaven and earth to get him in……

• undies73 says:

OMG are you serious mate – Naughton has an average of 37 and a BE of 25, add to that the injuries to Trengrove, Adams and Morris which means he won't be able to play the intercept marking role he did in the JLT, he will be lucky to make any coin!!
On the the other hand we have Bonner who has a BE of -44, is a ready made running half back flanker that has taken Pittard's spot as the designated kicker out of the backline.. its a no brainer really. If you have Naughton get rid of him now, he will be playing a lock down role until those other players return, that could be 8 -10 weeks.

• TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Yep gonna hold onto naughton as JS is good slow burn on the bench.

Started bonner as i wanted a D3 who could score 75 plus each week.
Think bonner more than capable of this. Port look for him out of defence.
Laser kick.
Reckon he can score this most weeks with the odd big one.
As for bringing him be a solid pick but not sure i would move heaven and earth to bring him in

• SCdonkey says:

Like your thinking Derek, will hold on Naughton. My gut and head tells me to move Hibbo on, somewhere in the back of my mind says one more week.

I have $219K in the bank, not sure if I should upgrade Cox now or wait a bit for him to increase some cash and then get Kreuzer when he drops in price.

I was originally gonna do Hibbo for Simmo and Cox for Witts this week. What do ya think mate?

Should I do
Simmo and Witts
Or
Just Witts this week and Cox out
Or
Wait for Kreuzer and hold all trades this week.

• Defying_Madness says:

It would be easier for me to hold onto him if I could just bench him however Naughton or Murphy have to be fielded as my D6 which is kind of worrying

• BVB21 says:

Agree with Bonner. Have been saying the same thing about him. Lots of people going to regret it if he pumps out 70’s each week

32. Da Boysh says:

Hi All,

I have the gold pass but when I press projections on my PC it only tells me the BE, not the actual cash movement.. any ideas?

Thanks

• David C says:

Click on analyser and then cash cows.

• Russ says:

How much did the gold pass cost and is it worth the money ($20)?

• Da Boysh says:

personally i think its a must have if you are serious

• Stirlsy says:

Yep $20 Russ, you can get most of stuff from other pages but its easy to be on the one where you play instead of jumping around and changing players.
Is it worth it, yes I think so but it should include live scores as well IMO.

33. flying mullet says:

Crouch for Dusty or mitchell???

• Da Boysh says:

I like Titch personally. I like hawthorns chances after their game yesterday. Although Dusty has been consistent end of last year and this year he does know how to go missing.

• Derek says:

it might just be the one who suites your bye rounds better

• johnno2908 says:

You want both sooner rather than later, but I would lean Mitchell first.

Mitchell had 40 touches and 2 goals against a Geelong side who put a fair bit of work into him early, scoring 148 points against Ablett, Danger and Selwood, maybe even chuck Kelly in there.

Apart from Dusty and Nank, Richmond players haven’t turned up in the first 2 games. There’s 3300 points that go out in a game no matter what, and Richmond only got 1388 of them, so I think that’s a big reason Dusty scored 160 from 25 touches and 5 goals. Richmond have to turn up eventually you would think.

34. Da Boysh says:

Big call here,

Merrett to Coniglio,

Will give me enough cash to turn O'Meara into a Dangerfield after one goes up and one goes down..

I am doing this because Merrett is going to burn me 70k if I hold him this week, Coniglio seems like a must have. And it means I can grab Danger.. surely this isn't that stupid. Someone convince me otherwise 🙂

• SW Roosters XXX says:

Why trade Merrett? HIs price is irrelevant, you included him as a season long keeper??
What is reasoning behind Cogs being a must have – do you see him as a Top 10 Mid at seasons end? If yes then he is outstanding value..

If not you are essentially just burning trades – getting a rid of a premium mid for Cogs and then potentially needing to trade Cogs back up to a premium mid later in the year??

Only get 30 trades!!!

• fcabel says:

Try and find another way to get cogs in

• Da Boysh says:

im going to go O'Meara to Coniglio, it means i wont have enough for Danger but oh well

• jvm says:

Coniglio will have a higher average than Merrett by season end. and dangerfield upgrade is a must…good trade.

• Johno says:

Season Average is irrelevant now. The only important thing is average from this round onwards. Of course Merrett's average will be lower because he's had a 17 but from this point forward I think Merrett will outscore Coniglio.

35. Milos says:

Hello community,
Armitage to Coniglio before price rise?

36. SCdonkey says:

I must be out my head of getting rid Hibbo for Simmo. I just don't want to make the same mistake as i did last year with Shaw. I held Shaw most of the season last year thinking yep he'll come good and will get his role back.

Hibbo(Shaw 2.0) Seemed to have lost his role like Shaw did last year. I struggled to find a way to get Doc his price just kept getting higher and higher, by the time season ended. Still had no Doc<img draggable="false" class="emoji" alt="😓" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/2.4/svg/1f613.svg">

I know it's only round 2, i have used 4 trades so far and maybe one more next week. Will set back for a while after the trade next week until all the rookies are ready for culling at around Rd 5 or 6 barring any injuries will have 25 trades until then.

• MaurieD says:

You are a donkey with no respect for trades. You will be crying into your weetbix come round 18 when you run out of trades. Show some discipline or suffer. You are out of your head and it is only round 2.

• INPieman says:

If your going to burn through those trades make sure you look back at them at the end of the season. And what you will find is the sideways trades will have proved pointless. Hold your nerve

• SCdonkey says:

Looking back at last weeks trade, if that's pointless. Then I must be doing it wrong, Ryder to Curnow and Rocky to Danger.

• Maurice D says:

They were good but hold off as you said until round 5ish.

• SCdonkey says:

That's the same thing i did held with Shaw last year, while his price dipped and Doc increased and missed out on points. Don't want to make the same mistake.

Really think Hibbo will be another Shaw of last year this season, Lever, Lewis and Vince is hurting his points

• fcabel says:

Wish I’d gone rocky to bloody anyone last week?

• fcabel says:

I’m a fan of using 4 trades early to correct team if required. I also think Hibberd to Simmo is an upgrade so like it. Not a fan of Hibberd which may make me a poor source of advice.

• SCdonkey says:

That's what i was thinking before the season started, 1st two or three rounds will do corrective on premos and rookies who i didn't start with.

Luckily I started with all the must have rookies this year, had Ryder who got injured had to move him on. Corrective trade has to be made, the likes of underperforming premos or change of roles.

I'm happy sit back for a few weeks after doing some corrections in my team this week. Unless injuries occurs.

• neil demons delight says:

I agree with you Doncs. Those two trades were must do's but Hibberd is all Australian who scored 40 in a qtr. keep him. Ryder to Curnow is a wise trade as is Rocky to Danger GOOD TRADES.but not Hibberd. Trades should be preserved but those are dead set corrective trades. I TRADED Corey ELLIS and LAMBERT FOR DUSTY and Murphy 2 corrective trades my teams better good luck doncs go with your heart then sit back

• Marty says:

Too early after two rounds to wipe out Hibberd

• Phildev says:

My thoughts exactly. Shaw never came good and trading him gets me Danger. Anyway you can get Danger in is not burning trades

• Patch says:

Would concur on moving him on but four trades down by round 3 is a lot of trades down. Pull the trigger if you back yourself to bunker down and conserve trades until we begin culling rooks

• SCdonkey says:

That's the plan Patch do my corrective trades now and sit back watch my rookies fatten up until Round 5 or 6.

If I go with
Hibbo – Simmo
Cox – Witts
This week, will have 26 trades left until the Rookies are ready for culling, barring any injuries by Rd 5 or 6.

This is my team after the trades, will conserve trades after this week.

Back
Laird, Simmo, Doedee, Finalyson, Naughton, Murray
Murphy, Mihocek

Mid
Danger, Titch, Oliver, Kelly
Fyfe, Cripps, Kelly, Holman
O'Connor, Banfield, Garlett

Ruck
Witts, Gawn
English

Fwd
Heeney, McLean, Smith, Taylor, Curnow, Fritsch
Langdon, Ryan

37. TheScacman says:

Do I trade Crouch to Dusty given Crouch has done a hammy as is going to miss serious weeks, or do I take Coniglio? Would have a bank of 234K for future weeks and the future bank of Coniglio or a genuine top 3 mid lock…..

• Soothsayer says:

I have pulled the trigger on crouch to dusty and paid for it by downsizing Dow (195k) to TKelly which will make big bucks next week. Crouch will bleed cash on return and can be picked up after his recovery nice and cheap.

• BVB21 says:

Only pick cogs if you think he is top 8 mid

• JohnDJ59 says:

I'd be going with Coniglio,he's scoring very well 129& 120 and will be going up 40k+ could be your M8 no problem.

38. Luke says:

I have hibberd and Merrett and ranked about 40k usually finish top 1000 and thinking of going Merrett to coniglio to free up some cash ready for early upgrade to try make up for lost ground I alReady have all the correct rookies and feel like coniglio will be a keeper or average 5-10 less then Merrett

Hibberd I will keep as I feel all defenders have a rough patch and drop in price and he will bounce back!

Thoughts guys

39. Harry says:

Should I swap Crouch to Oliver?

or downgrade to Parker / Cripps and bank the 60k

• Soothsayer says:

Oliver is a great trade, if I couldn’t afford dusty I would have gone crouch to Oliver.

40. Ja191 says:

Refraining from going hibberd to simmo but is O’meara to conigs worth a trade? Don’t see yaeger averaging over 80 and conigs looks like a must have

41. KSinny says:

I have 30 Trades left and 32.7k in the Bank.. Should i do any trades this week?

DEF: Laird, Hibbo, Sicily, Finlayson, Doedee, Murphy (Naughton, Murray)

MID: Dusty, Titch, Kelly, Zerrett, Fyfe, Cripps, T.Kelly, Holeman (Brayshaw, Banfield, Garlett)

RUC: Gawn, Nank (Olango)

FWD: Heeney, Billings, Smith, Tracca, Langdon, Fritsch, (Keefe, Venables)

Would love some feedback and advice. Cheers community!

• BVB21 says:

Langdon out for 4 weeks.

I wouldn’t trade him but u can’t play Venables for 4 weeks

• Nige says:

I’m keeping Langdon and using him as my only loophole.

42. Arma says:

Can someone talk me out of trading Sicily to Taranto please. If he gets suspended then it is a definite yes but if he is free to play next week?

• Northerner says:

Taranto was in my team most of the preseason, but left him out for Lobb. I think he will be best player from that draft. Knows how to find it, is a good user of the ball and knows where the sticks are. I think he's a good option. I'm tossing up on going a little more aggressive around cash generation and going Zac Fisher. I think he'll average 80-90, has the 110 in his price for the next 2 weeks and could easily appreciate $150k which would be great to get early in the season that can be put to work. Carlton have Pies and North next 2 weeks, so I expect them to be competitive in both games which will help his scoring. I think Lek nailed it when he said he looked like a young Simpson running around. Not sold on this yet and might just be some early week playing around before I come to my senses and save the trade.

• Andrew says:

Hold. He started well didnt have the best game round 2 but will bounce back!

• Disco says:

Sicily wasn't that bad, he was probably going to finish with closer to 80-90 had it not been for the Geelong come back. The scores capped out with 10 mins to go and he started losing points. He was on 70 points with 10 mins to play then scores reduced quickly due to the close game. Had he not giving a 50 metre early, his score would have been much better. He will dominate the easier teams.

• Arma says:

Thanks Disco and Andrew. I didn’t need much convincing so I will hold for now.
Would you trade if he gets suspended?

43. GAZ says:

Downgrade Zorko to Congilio or Parker or Cripps or trust Zorko to go back up and score or is the tag too much for him

Naughton to who ??

44. Simo says:

Gday Community. I have the spare cash to turn Naughton into Bonner. Hold fire, or pull the trigger?

cheers

45. John says:

Thoughts on trading Mccartin to Christensen?

• Sir Alex says:

Yes good move, depeding if you have all other fwd rookies at lower end of scale.

46. Dice says:

Didn't watch Carlton game but does Kade Simpson clearly have his old role back??
Any info appreciated..

• Northerner says:

Looks like it. He's such a good user. He scores every possie he gets

47. hedski says:

I have English F6 and Flynn (r/f loophole) at R3.
Thoughts on parking English at R3 and trading Flynn to Ryan. (W.C.)?
I'm not expecting him to score like he did on the weekend all the time but looks to have good js and will be an extra cash generator which will be handy.

• Derek says:

gee English look way off AFL level on the weekend. he might be your loophole soon.

• hedski says:

Yeah he was ordinary Derek, that's the thinking behind bringing in another money maker.

• Northerner says:

That's what I'm doing. Think Ryan's cash generation is required. I'm happy to lose the loophole for a couple of weeks for the extra cash.

• hedski says:

Cheers Northerner, now I have Crouch to worry about.

• Northerner says:

Clarry is a legend. Always gets positive scaling at the end of each game as all contested. Never has a shocker.

• Stirlsy says:

English wont be in team for long, 2 big guys to return his days are numbered.
Kid is simply not ready needs another 2 years on the weights and to grow into his body.

• Patch says:

Don't mind an extra cash generator hedski – cash is king, as they say

48. Liam says:

Should I trade Garlett to Ryan.

Ryan could make some quick cash due to that 115.

49. Luke says:

Traded crouch to D Martin, Lambert to Z Fisher, 400 k war chest plan on bringing in Danger over the next few weeks for a rookie, thoughts?? Current rank around 20,000 averaging 2,200 so far..

• Northerner says:

Solid trades.

• Darcy Franks says:

I understand Lambert isn't performing but FIsher is anything but a safe option, he average mid 40's last year can you expect him to hold his average where it is now

• luke says:

i plan on making 100 to 200 k and use as stepping stone.. thoughts?? this allows me a 400 k war chest

50. Darcy Franks says:

What do I with Tom Rockliff, projected 77 and if he hits that he loses 75k. I wanna get rid of him but don't want to burn a useless trade.

• luke says:

Must trade doesnt look the same as he was @ brisbane,

• Matt says:

If you you want to keep getting sub 50 scores keep him haha, if not trade to Parker or coniglio

• Darcy Franks says:

Got coniglio but already have a lot of people in the sydney bye round do I still get parker or go to like a wines or someone

• TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

I reckon he has gotta go.
I watched the game he was unsighted till after half time.
Cripps, parker,,whitfield, selwood all much better options for about the same price.
Or if u have cash go up to one of the big boyz
Clarey be a good pick.

• Darcy Franks says:

I want parker but already have a lot of people in that bye round what do you reckon

51. ProTravo says:

Hold my trades or pull the trigger?

Considering JOM to Cripps/Gibbs & Hibberd to Bonner…

• luke says:

i have hibberd and am holding for now

• Northerner says:

I think you've used 2 trades that are essentially sideways. JOM to Bonner and Hibberd to a premo mid (but not über premo). It could look more attractive to me if you were getting in cogs if you thought he would be top 10 mid by season's end as the extra cash bank would turn it positive IMO.

• ProTravo says:

That's a good way of looking at it. I already have Danger, Kelly, Mitchell, Cogs and Fyfe as premo mids.
I would like to get Oliver, but the only good options I see are Cripps, Gibbs and maybe Parker.
If I don't trade t one of those guys I'm probably better holding for now.

52. Darcy Franks says:

What do I community? Got Rockliff who will lose my 75k this week if he scores 77 (which is a doubt). Im on 28 trades thus-far and wanna know what you guys think.

53. Ja191 says:

Urge anyone thinking about fisher to restrain. Massive trap, a bloke doesn’t go from averaging 47 to 105. A much better pod to look at would be taranto

• Osca says:

You have me worried about Taranto with your logic. Similar average increase from 2017-2018!

• DocMartin says:

What about Oliver’s huge step up last year? Some footballers improve you know

• Ja191 says:

oliver and Taranto both averaged 70 in their first seasons. It’s more to do with roles – Taranto getting more mid time and with skully out this will increase – Oliver playing onball. Don’t see fisher with his current role being able to replicate his first 2 rounds scores

54. Ando says:

Naughton to Bonner & Fogarty to Ryan? Or just do the latter?

• Darcy Franks says:

Naughton to Bonner is good but Ryan may be a trap cos as a small forward he can easily score 30 – 40 next week.

• Tyruddanaut says:

Don’t expect Ryan to score high but I still think it’s good

• LUKE says:

I'm looking at exactly the same trades. I think it's Viable. With Ryan's score of 115 he will make cash quickly. Plus will keep his spot now for the next few rounds at least.

55. Andrew says:

Thinking about going beams to ryan via dpp. It would leave me with 3 on field rooks in the middle Kelly/Brayshaw/Holman but with 600k in the bank and the ability to turn brayshaw into anyone.

Should I make the trade instantly? Am i crazy to leave 600k in the bank while I wait for a price rise or 2 from my cows and some premos to fall???

Any help/ideas would be much appreciated!!

• Tyruddanaut says:

No it’s not crazy.
One mid-pricer comes along and out of nowhere scores 130 over 5 games and you’ll need that cha-Ching!

56. Tyruddanaut says:

My second ‘trade’ I can’t decide on but these are my options
1. Zorko to Dusty. Zorko still isn’t scoring enough and it doesn’t help that he plays for Brisbane. We could see that worse teams get less supercoach points through Gold Coast last year. $23,700 spare
2. Hibberd to Hurn. 3 new members of the defense; Vince, Lewis and Lever. Complete role change. $128,800 spare
3. Olango to English. Backup for Nic Nat or the alternative is Nic Nat to English but I don’t like that that much. $38,500 spare
4. Brayshaw to Fisher. Brayshaw just isn’t scoring enough. I got him in my team to score 70s or 80s and he’s barely got 60. $5,500 spare
5. No trade. Leave it and hope and pray

• DacZawson says:

I'd be leaning towards option 5.
Hibberd worth one more look

• Nate says:

none of the above. post your side.

1. find another way to get dusty. Zorko is a premium. good chance to be top 10 MID.
2. Hibberd was a choice you made and need to put your gun back in the holster there and hope he averages 100. he should again be close to top 6 defenders, so making that call after 2 rounds doesn't sit right.
3 – do you have another donut? if not, leave Olango, he is a great loop option.
4 – low priced cash generating rookie for a high priced cash generating rookie is a waste IMO.
5. tick.

• Tyruddanaut says:

Okay. My side is:

Def: Laird, Hibberd, Savage, Bonner (From Naughton), Finlayson, Doedee, (Murphy, Murray)
Mid: Danger, Titch, Zorko, Fyfe, Coniglio, Brayshaw, Holman, TK, (Banfield, Garlett, Barry)
Ruck: Gawn, Nic Nat, (OLango)
Fwd: Heeney, Billings, Walters, Smith, Lobb, Fritsch (Ryan, Langdon)

• THE SALTSHAKER says:

Ive got Lloyd instead of Hibberd. GAJ instead of Zorko, JOM + Armo dont have Tim Kelly. i have Petracca instead of Heeney and Garlet instead of Lobb otherwise identical

• Marty says:

No trade is your best option. Brayshaw only has to have one ripper game to make $$. Hibberd will come good. English will be a slow burner. Fisher won't sustain his good start.

57. DacZawson says:

Venables to Ryan is looking a worthy trade.
Anyone disagree?

• Tyruddanaut says:

Venables to most players is looking good

• SW Roosters XXX says:

Absolute waste of a trade… total point chasing knee jerk trade…..
Sideways rookie trade – Venables actually looked pretty good on the weekend… Both Ryan & Venables will be up and down… Won't play opposition as insipid as the Bulldogs were on the weekend every week….. Ryan is an excitement machine no doubt but will not be tonning up all that often….. Every chance that Venables could outscore Ryan over next few weeks and actually appreciate quicker……
Ryan is far from a must have………

• Northerner says:

Agree. I had Flynn as my loophole and can trade him out and swing English forward to get Ryan. No way I’d trade out Venables for him though as he will play all year and increasingly get mid time. He’s got the goods, just needs to find the pace of the game and work out how to find more footy.

58. Corey says:

Hibberd to Simpson
Hunter Clark to Coniglio
Is this a good move community?

• Tyruddanaut says:

Clark to Coniglio looks good but I’m not sure about Hibberd trade

59. jssmith4699 says:

Should I swap Hibberd to Simpson
and go Dow to Coniglio?

60. lukey says:

Opinions on Gibbs?

61. Andrew says:

Worth going Olango to English for cash generation or save the trade and keep a loophole option?

• Sc_Wow says:

Loophole is far more valuable. English won’t make much

• Stirlsy says:

Defo NO English won't be in team in a few weeks, might not be there this week.

• Mick says:

Trengrove and Roughead both injured, he’s as safe as he’s ever been.

• Soothsayer says:

I think it’s all that could save him, he could go 80 plus and make some cash, he’s not expensive.

62. D_I_L_D_O_R says:

Have 200k in the bank with a plan to get Dangerfield in early. With no injury concerns in my middle im thinking of trading Z.Merrett straight up to danger. Other options include zorko or holding the 200k (which i think probably doesnt help me) and waiting for another way to get dangerfield in

• KnowAll says:

IF Dangerfield averages 140 over the next 2 games he will only DROP in price by $9k. He was on about 84 at 3qrtr time and with a less competitive opposition and a little better umpiring he wouldn't have made 115 yesterday. I don't see any reason to rush in to buying Danger there are plenty of other keepers who will go up in price after this round that you should be targeting first

• SW Roosters XXX says:

This crap about the umpiring is very amusing…. there was one borderline holding the ball decision that Danger had go his way – was correct call in my opinion as he got his hand to the ball just…..

Danger along with Ablett was massive in the last 10 minutes of the game – the two of them basically dragged Geelong back into the game off the back of some huge one on one wins and contested possies….

If Danger wasn't stranded deep forward for so much of the second half he could have went huge….. That will be the interesting thing to see in coming weeks how much he splits time b/w mid/fwd – it will be his role not umpiring interpretations that will have the impact on his scoring….. I would certainly rather have him in my side than not… Can't see him not being a Top 4 mid come seasons end….

• D_I_L_D_O_R says:

So in your opinion worth the trade straight from Merret to Danger seeing as i have the cash saved for it anyway?

• SW Roosters XXX says:

My opinion is you will need Danger at some stage… the sooner the better… things crop up all the time in this game that can throw a spanner in best laid plans eg suspension, injury….. So you idea of waiting to get Danger in another way – may never eventuate…

Certainly don't see the point of having 200K in the bank not earning points….. If you have the correct rookies cash generation should take care of itself in coming weeks…..

• Derek says:

He was in forward line far too much for a $750k midfielder.

• Russty_ says:

Yep..42% Forward.

• SW Roosters XXX says:

Depends if the glass is half full or half empty Derek….

Fact he still scored 130 despite high forward time could be seen as a positive… especially given the biggest issue was that when he was forward there was a big lack of supply – Hawthorn smashed Geelong in terms of I50'smaking it impossible to score points.. against inferior opposition with more supply, Danger being forward could actually help scoring at times….

31 posessions (15 contested) and 2 goals – I am more than happy to have Danger in my side……

His scoring is still going to be at uber premo level and can expect similar output to other years….. He will have games where he is more mid than forward and vice versa….. As I said who's to say when he's forward he doesn't end up with 6 snags providing Cats get their share of ball inside 50 – which against most sides they will……

Don't think we need to overthink Danger – he will be Top 3 point scorer come season end regardless of role – (barring injury which we have no control over)

• Pitch72 says:

Agreed, I don't know what all the fuss is over Dangerfield, if you have him thumbs up, if your one of those that are going to 'wait' until he is cheaper then your chasing tail already. Yesterdays game was a sign of better things to come, he is a beast.

• pod says:

How good was that play with Cyril he stole it from him, never seen Cyril get robbed like that.

63. James says:

Should I trade mccartin to Christensen?

64. Cozza says:

My 3 main mistakes were Hibberd, Menegola and Beams. Nailed the rookies, so happy with that.

Thinking I'll hold Hibberd and trade Beams and Menegola. Beams to Coniglio and Menegola to a keeper – Heeney or Frankling are easy choices, but is anyone thinking Acres or Toranto will be keepers? Liking them at the moment.

65. Gazza says:

Good or Bad

Brawshaw to Coniglio
and
Hibberd to Sicily or Krewzer to Nic Nat

• Tyruddanaut says:

Keep Kreuzer without a doubt.
Brayshaw to Coniglio is good but don’t do either second trade.
Sicily is out for suspension and Kreuzer is a fantastic player

66. Brent says:

Thoughts on turning Naughton into L.Ryan and Hibberd into Coniglio?

67. Brunson says:

Trade Crouch or keep him, if trade who too ?

• JohnDJ59 says:

Hi Brunson I had the same problem, traded him out for Oliver, you need to trade him,but without knowing who you have in your midfield,it's a bit hard to know who to recommend,Dusty,Oliver or Coniglio would be good pickups if you don;t have one of them.I'm assuming you already have Titch,if not and you have the cash,go for him.

68. Gsal says:

I’ve got 123k
Should I trade
Crouch to Dusty & Rayner to Bonner

Which will leave me with 14k

69. Jon says:

QUICK MATH! Actually laughed.

70. BrianTaylor15 says:

One trade left with 168k in the bank which do i take:
1) Upgrade JOM to to Coniglio
2) sideways trade Hibberd to Simpson or Hurley
3) sideways trade zorko or duncan to Martin
4) Fogarty to Ryan

71. Tim says:

I'm only playing for finals/grand final in one league. Should I hold Ryder? I have Gawn/English on field.

72. Josh says:

Went for a pod at the start of the season in sidebottom. 2 scores of 91 but not exactly what I hoped for but I'm keen to hold onto him as he looks like he's playing well and I feel he will have a good year. This week I have 2 trade options in mind.
1) trade crouch and sidebottom for coniglio and Kelly or Ablett (or someone else over 600k)
2) trade crouch to coniglio and naughton to Bonner
Thoughts?

73. The Kernel says:

Naughton to Murphy
Fogarty to Ryan

Thoughts? Will pocket approx 80k from those trades alone plus more money to be made on the cheaper rookies. Makes sense to me? Thanks in advance for any feedback

74. ryan3315 says:

Need to trade Matt Crouch out, and want to get Dusty in before his price skyrockets.

In order to get the cash, do I trade:
Naughton to Murphy
Or
Hibberd to Simpson

Cheers.

75. Harley says:

Ellis to Bonner and Graham to Coniglio + 60k, sound good?

76. AuroraBorealis?! says:

Crouch to Oliver or Dusty? I like Oliver as a POD but i'm worried not having dusty will hurt me.

• goalpostmalone says:

Dusty for his ceiling, Oliver for consistency. I'd definitely go Dusty between the two; he's a legitimate game winner and plays a class above the rest of the league.

Also good for the vc option this year 😉

77. Crowboy94 says:

Lambert to Mclean or Smith

Clark to Oconner or another MID rookie.

Any suggestions community?

Thanks

• goalpostmalone says:

McLean over Smith.
The doggies were awful against WC and McLean was still one of the standout performers. With Libba gone for the season, McLean has been given more mid time.
Smith is still a good pick, but get McLean first.

78. Steeeve says:

Sicily offered one week

• INPieman says:

We should be allowed 1 additional Flog Factor trade per season

• Steeeve says:

I'm holding although with Langdon out as well that is going to stretch me very thin in defence.

• Steeeve says:

My bad confused langdon with finlayson

• INPieman says:

I have Sicily & Langdon in the Fwd line. Doesn't take long for serious problems to surface in this caper

• neil demons delight says:

me too pies and was all set for dusty REJIG happening F it geez he's a tool might dump him and keep lambert still gets me dusty and gets rid of that useless turd WHAT A FLOG worse than greene

• The Ranger says:

Whats up with Langdon? Been away and can't see anything on the GWS website about him.

• Patch says:

AMEN

• Pitch72 says:

Should have got an extra week for being a flog!

• Russty_ says:

Welcome Charlie Curnow 🙂 goodbye flog!

• johnno2908 says:

Part of me wishes it was 3 weeks to make the trade decision easier

• Steeeve says:

He's in my defence so it's either bring in Bonner or just wait a week. I'm leaning toward just keeping him. If not it's one trade for bonner and another back to a keeper, which i hope sicily can be.

Other option sicily to shaw…

79. Daniel says:

Savage and Clark to Martin and Bonner? Thoughts?

• INPieman says:

Savage has back to back 90's. Why would you do that

• SW Roosters XXX says:

What were you expecting Savage to score? He is averaging 94.5 why would you even have him on the radar to trade? Do you have 40 trades or 300 trades????

So essentially you are trading out a bloke in Savage who is a premium keeper if he maintains his output and a rookie who you aren't giving a chance to raise in price (all be it his breakeven isn't great) to bring him two players that will also more than likely need to be traded at a later date – given neither Martin or Bonner are likely to be keepers… So effectively you are committing to a minimum of four trades and no certainty of any points gain????

Thoughts are you a crazy!!!

• Russty_ says:

How is Martin not a keeper?

• SW Roosters XXX says:

The Gold Coast variety Martin not a keeper in my books….

Gold Coast have had a soft draw to start they will still be on the end of some beltings as the year goes…. 76 v Nth & 117 v Carlton – doesn't fill me with confidence that he will score at a level that will see him as a top 10 forward….

Just wouldn't be getting carried away with Martin getting 117 against a insipid Carlton outfit on the weekend….. The 76 v Nth is hard to get a read on given it was played in a lake…….

Martin also has a poor injury history and for mine is not a keeper – just my opinion and could well be proved wrong…..
I would like to see a bigger sample size before I was trading him in with a view to him being a premium keeper…

Each to their own……

• SW Roosters XXX says:

If I was going to take a speculative pick for a premium forward – I would go Taranto over Martin for the following reasons:

1. Is $82,200 cheaper.
2. Playing a friendly SC role in a likely Top 4 team – Scully injury further solidifies role & JS
3. Dual Position Mid/Fwd – gives some insurance if he doesn't get to premo status could still retain him and use his swing for him to be a handy M9/F7
4. Wins more contested footy/clearances than Martin which is conducive to SC scoring and more consistent points output…. Has been a regular at centre bounces and high TOG stats.
5. Gold Coast will get some smackings which potentially will limit Martin scoring output….

• SW Roosters XXX says:

My bad – I presume he is talking about Dusty Martin!!!!
Anyway still like Taranto as an option LOL

• Russty_ says:

Yeah think so haha, Savage for Bonner, Clark for Dusty he should've said..nice writing anyway mate 🙂

80. INPieman says:

Zac Langdon has a broken thumb & out for minimum 4 weeks

• Josh says:

Should we just hold?

• INPieman says:

I think so. He not worth anything to get rid of. And he will come straight back in. He has a clear role

• SCdonkey says:

I'll hold on him for a while, put Fritsch on the bench with (E) along side his name if he gets below 60 points, throw Ryan on field.

• Tyruddanaut says:

Stephenson looks like a good substitute and has DPP

• INPieman says:

If Stephenson keeps up his 63 Av he will make about 130k. And slow burn. Is it worth 2 trades for 130k. Cause you have to get him out again. Many other cows will be fattening up. I think if you have some form of cover it's best to hold Landgon

• Defying_Madness says:

Maybe I should trade him to Ryan

• INPieman says:

That is an option Defying. But expect more turds than tonnes from Ryan

• Defying_Madness says:

Yeah that is probably what I am expecting, he would just be bench cover anyway. With Sicily out as well who I kind of want to keep this is a trade I am seriously considering.

• INPieman says:

Don't trade Sicily for a week. I think he will have far more good games than turds. He has a key role that attracts points by the bucket load

• Defying_Madness says:

Yeah I won't be trading Sicily out, would still rather trade out Lobb and he is playing this week.

• Beezneez says:

You're probably right Pieman but I have him and Crouch to deal with – Sicily to C Curnow is tempting.

• Derek says:

i thought that was good, he can be a nice loophole for Fritsch and Venables. then i looked at the draw, except for this week, can't use him because of GWS early games.

• Stirlsy says:

I'm holding, might be able to do a bit of looping but not this week with Sicily out too HTF Greene gets up or im playing 1 short.

• Marty says:

Good for another loophole captain

81. neil demons delight says:

The difference between the no.6 mid and the 15th over the journey will possibly be under 200 and that.s where Coniglio sits about 15th. But to get him early will offset this but he has to be a keeper

82. EasyMoneySniper says:

Hey community,
Haven't had to make a trade yet, but i have to bite the bullet on dusty. So many points there and i'm tired of cursing the TV every time he does something amazing. Merrett or Neale will have to make way for him. Both Class mids but dusty is on another level.
Which one should make way???? Merrett losing all this cash will not affect the decision as it will be done this week.

Thanks Community

• INPieman says:

Normally I would advise against trading premiums. But I think soon if you don't have Dusty Titch or Danger you will be panicking. Zerrett is the better player to retain if you look at the byes. Danger Dusty Fyfe Neale all have Round 14

• EasyMoneySniper says:

Thanks Pieman, Do you think i should factor in that Zerrett has more of a chance to get attention from other teams? or am i reading into the job Banfield did on him this week?

• INPieman says:

You should factor that in. But it seems he can handle attention better than Zorko or Sloane. I really like Neale but his bye is painful. Now is the right time to start considering byes & trading accordingly to make sure you don't have a week of carnage

83. TommyC99 says:

Was planning on going Mills – Ryan but the Sicily out throws a spanner in the works. Can’t do the trade unless I do a rookie corrective trade. I wanted to trade either Naughton, keeffe or Dow to O’Connor/Murphy/Ryan to give me the funds. But I also have Langdon in my forward line which I want to hold, but means no Sicily or Langdon = no cover if anyone else goes down. What should I do community?

84. Darcy Franks says:

Simpson and Parker or Sicily and Dusty?

85. Tony says:

Trading Hibberd to Bonner and Brayshaw (freo) to Dusty. Thoughts guys

86. Darcy Franks says:

Is getting Seedsman and Dangerfield?

87. Steeeve says:

Everyone is panicking to get Dusty in. And I get it. But seriously he's already expensive. Won't get too much more expensive than this. One poor game and he'll be yours for $600K. History shows it will almost certainly happen. Even Danger was that cheap last year at one point. Maybe when Dusty drops in price you will have cash cows to slaughter… If you have two of Danger, Dusty and Titch that's good for now.

• Russty_ says:

Agree Steeeve, peeps are worried about getting too far behind but let's face it, if we didn't score 2400+ two weeks in a row we're already behind, I've got Danger and Titch and can wait for Dusty when he drops down to affordable, and it will happen.

88. Reillz says:

Trade or keep Dahlhaus not scoring well at all

• Pitch72 says:

Get rid of him, he sucks this year.

• SW Roosters XXX says:

Western Bulldogs are a train wreck at the moment……

• KSinny says:

Trade

• BVB21 says:

Trade

• Steeeve says:

He was bad last year and still averaged 90. Honestly I'd hold. Chances are you'll trade him and the bloke you bring in will get you around the same score from here on.
On the other hand, his form guide is bad. Really bad. The back half of his 2017 was very poor and he has continued on with that. It was enough for me to swap him for McLean just before the Doggies first game.

89. Thomas says:

Clayton, Coniglio or Parker for Crouch?

• seen_burns says:

Coniglio, seems like he will be averaging around the same as the other 2 and he is 450k

90. Harrison says:

The “G” is silent in coniglio patch & lek… just for future reference. You blokes have no idea about SC or football in general probably. My ears are bleeding

• Nick says:

Then don’t listen. Simple. Some of us appreciate the efforts the boys put in.

• Maverick_ says:

Post the link to your podcast please Harrison and we will have a listen and see how perfect you are, no? Yeah Didn’t think so! Keep up the good work Lek & patch.

• D_I_L_D_O_R says:

Also, way funner to say Coni-ig-lio, try it.

91. Mike says:

The way i look at it is . BONNER is scoring better than HIBBERD. Bonner is just shy of 300k cheaper . Why would you keep hibbered. Ill be very surprised if he is in the top 6 backs even 10 backs for the year. I cant see hibbered pumping out 145 ,157 ,132 over the year . Let alone 101 ,97 ,111. HIBBERD your time is up Melbourne a playing you in a shit role you are the Heata of 17 . THOUGHTS PEEPS

• Frankston Phil says:

I agree with you he is going to leak cash but I already have Bonner. I'm thinking down to Murphy or Z Guthrie and up grading Hunter Clark in my mid to a premo but who Danger or Dusty or possible Cripps.

• BVB21 says:

Bonner is not a keeper imo

• derek says:

i'll be getting Hibbo as one of my first upgrades.

• Marty says:

You watch the supercoach gods this week when everyone has traded Hibberd and brought in Bonner. Bonner will score 50s and Hibberd 120.

• BVB21 says:

This happens all the time.

It’s like bringing in English last week for Ryan lol

• SCdonkey says:

Throughout 7 years of his career, he's only scored 7 times over 120points, last year was the only time he scored over 120 three times in a season. And for him to pump one this week, Lewis will need to be concussed or break a leg, then he has Lever roaming around the back half and Vince running from the back half through the guts.

Good luck to those who will persist with him, and those who moved him on. Hopefully they swapped Hibbo for a better premo (keeper) not to someone who might be a keeper. May SCgods help you if ya go down that path.

• SC_Sixty6 says:

I don't rate hibberd one bit. Has never averaged 100 in a year. He was a top defender at the bombers when it was a terrible year for backs. I doubt I will even pick him up if he went below 450k

92. D_I_L_D_O_R says:

Started with Dunkley with the hopes of more midfield minutes and a big step forward, which he has done, so im not completely disappointed. a start of 87-67 will see him go up in price but i am considering a straight swap to Taranto, have 200k in the bank that im planning on using for danger in the coming weeks. Thoughts?

• SW Roosters XXX says:

Trading one midpricer to another midpricer will see you quickly waste your trades!!!!
Do you see Taranto as a keeper?? Wouldn't think so?? So by bringing him in you are effectively committing two trades one to get him in then one to get him out – is his points production going to be that much greater than Dunks to justify two trades?

Having said that if you think he can keep up current scoring and be a keeper as a forward then that is a totally different kettle of fish… Maybe he can???

Getting Danger in whilst he is still relatively unique and at low ownership to previous years could be a bigger advantage over the field than swapping Dunks for Taranto though……

But if Taranto proves to be a keeper as a forward at 365K then it is good buying….

• D_I_L_D_O_R says:

My team is currently in a good position. Started with all the good rookies, have all my trades and 200k bank, scored 2402 this week. My biggest issues are Zorkos scoring, which was okay this weeek and i think hes a top 10 mid. Zerretts scoring output, concerned that D.Smith will take some consistent points off him and he doesnt have a crazy cieling (max 141 the last 2 years) that he wont be a viable top 10 mid.

Originally planned to trade Coniglio up to danger early but Coniglio is outperforming my expectations and looks like he can actually be a keeper. Last year i got through the year without using all my trades, had like 4 left i think, because i was a bit too conservative and didnt jump on when others did (oliver for example).

If Taranto can average 85, say 13 more points than dunkley, is it not worth it for both the points and cash generation?

Thanks for your feedback SW, appreciated.

• SW Roosters XXX says:

Only feedback and an opinion mate… doesn't make it right – trust your gut and research….

For what it's worth I am starting to like the merits of getting Taranto in – strongly considering him myself.

His DP mid/fwd status could be valuable latter in the year and possibly allow him to be a swinging M9/F7 option as a worse case scenario.

Best case scenario would be he keeps his output going averages 95+ which would have him as a premium forward keeper… if that eventuates he is great buying at just over 365K.

So I guess what I am saying is if you can see a permanent role for him in your team – which there potentially is then I think go for it…

But if you think you will be getting him in (1 trade) and then getting him out again (1 trade) it is less appealing.

93. Maverick_ says:

Thoughts on trading lambert?
Just feel he may need to go but his work rate is elite, the points may come yet.
Not a fan of rage trading usually but I could go down to a L. Ryan as I do have a heavy fwd line.
Could bank some serious cash for a dusty fund!

Heeney, lambert, McLean, smith, Sicily, lobb (fritsch ZGL)

• Crowboy94 says:

I'm in the same position mate, but I think I will trade him to Mclean as I don't have him.

If I were you I would trade down to a rookie just like you said.

• Northerner says:

Lambert to Ryan makes sense in your forward line. With Fritsch on field.

94. BVB21 says:

Hi guys need some help

D – Laird, Savage, Sicily, Finlayson, Doedee, Murray (O,Connor, Murphy)

M – Dusty, Titch, Crouch, Fyfe, Parker, Cripps, Kelly, Holman (L.Fogarty, Barry, Banfield)

R – Gawn, Nankervis (Olango)

F – Billings, Lambert, D.Smith, Maclean, Lobb, Fritsch (Langdon, L.Ryan)

I have $58k and sitting in 1527 place.

I am trading out Crouch and Lambert.

I’m not sure whether to go Oliver, K.Simpson (Via Sicily DPP)

This would guarantee me two keepers but the problem is would leave me no money and also not bench coverage in forward line with Sicily and Langdon out.

Part of me says to pick Coniglio and Curnow and have $277k in the bank. Can also put E on L. Murphy and Fritsch and loophole)

This option also leaves money to upgrade some other mid pricers who definetely aren’t locks (Lobb, Sicily etc)

Other options are cogs, buddy etc

Would be appreciative of any advice

• BVB21 says:

Also should have said have 30 trades.

Think cogs could be top 10 as well.

Taranto another one I am considering.

Not sure if having two premiums outweighs a war chest

• Northerner says:

You either take Crouch to Oliver and it compromises your forward choice, e.g. you can’t get Heeney or Buddy.

Or, you get cogs. And then you have your choice of whoever you want in your forwards.

I love Clarry, but I’m also a fan of cogs so probably leaning to the latter combination.

Sicily probably just bench for a week.

• derek says:

i don't think you need to be rushing to get either of Simpson or Oliver in. i would be waiting a few weeks before you start getting your premiums in, wait for them to drop in price. Getting them now is just the same price as what everyone else paid for them. are you wanting those two because they are the ones going up in price or have they always been on your must have radar?

i am seriously looking at hibbo in a few weeks

Except Coniglio, he won't be any cheaper than he is now.

• BVB21 says:

I think Simpson won’t be this cheap again as he is getting all Dochertys points.

Oliver is pretty much straight swap for crouch. If cogs is top 10 it’s a no brainer to bring him in.

Simpson and cogs I think is good. Leaves me some room to move if I have to get rid of lobb.

• derek says:

68/70 players with a starting price over $500k in the last two seasons have fallen below their starting price at some stage during the year. simpson will be the same.

• BVB21 says:

Thanks Derek.

So you think I should just bank the cash and pick off fallen premos. Hibberd etc

95. Matt says:

I have 30 trades and 22.4k in the bank, is there any trades I should make? I’m thinking getting rid of Menegola and Rayner.
Laird, Hibberd, Savage, finlayson, Doedee, Murray,(Naughton, Murphy)

Dangerfield, Martin, Mitchell, Fyfe, Parker, Coniglio, Brayshaw, Kelly (Dow, Holman, Banfield)

Gawn, Naitanui ( Cameron)

Menegola, Heeney, Devon Smith, Rayner, Stephenson, Fogarty (Garlett, Fritsch)

Help would be greatly appreciated!

96. LUKE says:

I've been a long time listener to the Jock Reynolds podcast. Hats of to Lek and Patch for keeping the podcast and website running. Big shoes to fill but one (or two) can only try. I had a light bulb moment and thought since there is so many posts here. Why not make it a subscription site? $50 per year per person. I'm sure enough money would be raised to bring Jock, Higgo and Crouching One back. It's a tough job and a lot of effort goes into writing articles and podcasts. Editing and studying. C'mon Community let's get behind it and sign a petition and see how many subscribers there would be for next year and try and make a comeback for these Gentleman. Fine Fellas and dead set Bloody Veterans of our great game Supercoach. Jock we need you Father of Fantasy

• Tundro says:

You’re assuming its a cash solution. I think you are barking up the wrong tree. Times change, things change. We move on. Lek, Patch and co, the boys know their sh!t, what I think’s missing is a natural extrovert or two to mix things up, otherwise it sounds forced. let it evole. If you don’t like it, move on brother.

97. The Wizard says:

Hey Community. Have Laird, Hibberd, Doedee, Finlayson, Murray, Murphy, Naughton and Coffield. Wondering whether I should do the Naughton to Bonner or Coffield to Bonner? Even potentially O’shea? Mind you have been using Coffield as my loophole option.

• derek says:

i wouldn't be surprised to see Coffield get a game this week. so hold him. if not named he should be traded to Bonnar

98. Purple says:

hey communtiy

with sicily out for a week i've come to believe that this wont be the last time it'll happen, and that he's going to cause me headaches. so regardless of other opinion he's gone from my team.

now before this podcast i said to myself fisher could be a good downgrade option as a bonner type player, making some cash up to around 375-400 and hovering in that area, i feel even if he sits there for a while whilst i pick an upgrade he wont drop too much, making him easy to swing. but the other option which requires two trades is that i downgrade sicily to waterman (i know not ideal) and upgrade brodie (dont ask why i still have him) to coniglio, using 2 trades.

would like to hear your thoughts

• Jacko says:

Why did you pick Sicily in the first place. Because he was cheap.
I’m keeping him. He is averaging 92!!

• NoLanguage says:

Waste of a trade

• Da Boysh says:

agreed, he is a hold, Bonner output will decline with pittard back and you will just need to upgrade fischer/bonner anyway wasting another trade

• Tundro99 says:

Hold mate.

99. Frankston Phil says:

Dusty, Danger or Cripps?

100. TommyC99 says:

Which trade should I do?
1. Naughton – Murphy
2. Dow – O’connor (Creates def/mid swing with findlayson)
3. Dow – Liam Ryan (garlett into mids)
4. Keeffe – Murphy

• Northerner says:

I don’t think you should do any as Dow will come good. However, if you were going to make a trade, Ryan is the one who will make quick cash.

• TommyC99 says:

I need to raise a small amount of cash to go mills – Ryan, hence why I need to do a rookie correction trade. If Kruez is out, I can just use the cash I get from trading him

• derek says:

4. Keeffe is the only one not playing

• Tyruddanaut says:

As long as keeffe doesnt play then 4

101. Finnius says:

I have Sicily AND Langdon and Green (who may not get up this week). Would you be trading Sicily to Coniglio through DPP and Garlett into the fwd line to give me some extra cover if Green is out as well?

I also have Kreuzer as well though…

• derek says:

Kreuzer is playing. its on the Blues website

Coniglio is better option than Sicilly

• Tyruddanaut says:

Kreuzer will play so don’t trade. You can hold Langdon without difficulty and Sicily is going to be inconsistent. You only should worry about Greene, who is a great player anyway, but you should trade him to Walters, McLean, Franklin or Smith

102. Nick says:

Thoughts on this trade community;
Merrett to congs then Naughton to Simpson?

• BVB21 says:

Would never trade Merrett

• PeteB says:

Merrett could go down $100k over next few weeks while Congs could go up around $70k. Most of the price change will happen after this round. I’m giving serious thought about making that trade.

• Nick says:

Not worried abt the drop/ rise in cash, thinking abt rankings more than anything

• BVB21 says:

you are thinking the right way nick.

Pete is thinking short term and will prob run out of trades.

It sucks people that people will pick up Merrett cheaper than u bought him for but that’s just bad luck.

He is a keeper and will have another big year

103. newbie says:

I currently have D Beams falling flat after starting him instead of Parker.

I want to get him out this week and these are my two options. I’m thinking option 1 for now.

282k currently in the bank.

Downgrade Beams to Westhoff, leaves me with 360k in the bank to upgrade J Graham to Danger in the next couple of weeks.

Or I get get Danger his week which is a straight swap for Beams. I have the cash reserve but this only leaves me with 90k and I still have to make a corrective trade for J Graham

Thoughts?

104. BoltonsBlues says:

I never should of picked the flog Sicily
now his week off has given me a reason to trade the flog
Naughton and Sicily > Bonner and D Smith, done dusted done

105. Danny says:

Simpson or Shaw? Just keeping in mind the difference in price

• b_sh3p says:

Simpson, I wouldn't touch Shaw personally

• derek says:

Shaw does seem to be getting plenty of the ball.

i wonder with Scully going down, Whitfield will play the wing role, leaving shaw alone in defense as the loose man

• SW Roosters XXX says:

Don't see Scully injury impacting on role of Whitfield or Shaw….

106. Jordan says:

I know one is on the bubble and one isn’t but who has more potential to make a lot cash, out of waterman and o’connor

• Tyruddanaut says:

Waterman seems to have better JS but neither have it good. At least waterman will last 3 games

107. Bennmoore4 says:

Dahlhaus is killing me with a 69 avarage seeing as hes 500k, im thinking bringing in Taranto, Westoff or C.Curnow or should i back him in.

Thoughts?

108. chris says:

Thoughts on Merret to Danger?

109. Dave says:

Lambert and omeara for fischer and coniglio? Or pick up ryan as a rookie and pick up a premium mid (oliver or parker)…or ryan and coniglio and bank 200k ish…thoughts?

110. Sizza says:

Getting rid of Angus Brayshaw for Jarryn Geary? Or should I upgrade straight to Laird/Simpson.

If I choose Geary I'll have $222,800 in hand though

• Ja191 says:

Geary is a trap. Upgrade to laird or simmo

• PeteB says:

Geary’s nearly 30 years old and has never averaged more than 80 a season. Hard to see him maintaining his current scores. Has trap written all over him.

• Whatyasmokin says:

Season gone with a couple of moves like that. No exaggeration.

111. Kram says:

Beams to danger? got 200K

• Defying_Madness says:

Lock it in

• derek says:

Beams won't be top 10. even i'd do that trade.

• Kram says:

Cheers fellas. Went beams initially as it thought he'd carry on alright without rocky but he just can't seem to find the ball.

• Whatyasmokin says:

Beams is an elite midfielder when his body is right, its still a possibility hes a top 10-15 midfielder. Regrettable trades are always made early

112. derek says:

We really need Higgo and his Quantum Team Mechanics.

If he was here, i'm sure he would be telling everyone that this round is for Correctional trades only.

In the following order;

1) do you have the right rookies? ie ones who have reasonable JS and will make you plenty of cash.

2) do you have any long term injuries? especially to premium players greater than 2 weeks?

3) has there been a significant role change for a selected player that will affect his long term scoring?

unless any of the above applies, i would (pause the only way Higgo knew how to)….. HOLD.

the time will come when we can start to cull the cash cows and pick off the fallen premiums. Don't trade in premiums for the same price as what others have already bought them for, wait until you can get them at a cheaper price, therefore putting you ahead of the other players.

2 weeks is not enough time to determine if Hibbo won't be a top 6 defender. back your premiums to deliver, even if they are Lambert or Mills.

conserve your trades.

• derek says:

….. and of Course Crouching will be saying BANG BANG BANG…. you trade your ar$$ off.

• dontblushbaby says:

Yes, I'm considering on holding on Mills now, the Swans will have to make some changes of the way they play and Mills could be a beneficiary of that IMO

• Defying_Madness says:

Derek do you think Ryan is one of those rookies that we need to have?

• derek says:

he is going to make some very serious cash over the next two weeks. I don't have him as i only went with 3 rookies in forward line and changed to Z-Langdon at the last min. With langdon missing the next 4 weeks, i will consider getting him and banking the cash. What is a trade worth eh?

• Defying_Madness says:

Yeah I am tossing up the exact same trade. Leaning towards making it at the moment with Sicily out in the forward line as well.

• SCdonkey says:

1) i have all the rookies that's a must
2) don't have any injuries in this round, though had Ryder in Round 1
3) Hibbos role has changed, Lever, Lewis and Vince has affected his point scoring, i think it's gonna be a long term like Shaw last year. I'd hate it if it happens again to me this year, hoping he'll come good and get his role back. I'm at 99% of pressing that trade button at this stage. I have until Friday for that 1% to convice me otherwise.

• derek says:

i had Hibbo in my preseason team. then i heard that Lewis was going to be playing in defense and i took him out. I don't think Lewis played any of the JLT's.

i thought the same about Hurley and the talk of goddard playing more in defense. Everytime i look at goddard he is in the guts, maybe later he will affect Hurley

I must say that Hibbo is now very high on my watch list to be picked off at a fallen premium price.

• SCdonkey says:

Then it will be my loss and another mans gain if I go through with the trade. But knowing luck he'll come good this round and Simmo turds it this week. lol

• derek says:

they were talking about him on the Couch program. Roos showed vision of him hitting Hogan with a 60m bullet pass with his left foot in the last quarter. i thought to myself… interesting.

• SCdonkey says:

Don't understand why Dees letting Lewis doing the kick-ins. Hibbo has an awesome left kick and almost 100% accurate hitting his target out of defense everytime. Lewis is a flog, they should drop him in 2s unless the Dees paid too much on him to be in the 2s.

Hibberd does have a role change, though

• Tundro99 says:

Spot on Derek

113. Accibender says:

Considering making the following trades

Lobb to Curnow

Langdon to Ryan

• meph says:

I have Lobb but considering holding Round one was a good score, this week was putrid. I have him at F5 so can afford to give him a few more weeks.

• derek says:

he gave away two FA in the first couple of minutes and was -10.

was on 38 at half time, effectively scored 48 in first half.

the second half he was just beaten by a very good ruckman.

he comes up against Sinclair this week, should go ok.

remember he scored 97 the first week against English

as the #1 ruck of a very good football team, you have to give him every possible opportunity.

114. Shaun says:

Is murphy a must or wait and see on the rest coming through richards and o shae migjt have better job security

• Ja191 says:

O’shea has poor js and is only in due to kennedy injury. Murphies js looks pretty good with crouch and a few others being out

• Paul says:

Kennedy is back this week. Keep a close eye on that. Byrne will probably miss though. Darcy Lang will be back from injury very soon too, and he'll take out a player like O'Shea

115. Jimmy says:

1. Weitering and Libba out….Shaw and Curnow in.
2. As above out…..Z. Guthrie and Danger in.

Community which option

116. Shane O Mac says:

I took some risks that have failed spectacularly so far. Whos my priority to offload

28 trades, 29K – lost Ryder and Libba in R1

B Laird, Ryan, Bonner, Finlayson, Doedee, Murray (Naughton, Keefe)
M Dusty, Fyfe, Treloar, Parker, Cripps, Whitfield, Fiorini, Kelly (Banfield, Brayshaw, Holman)
R Gawn, Nic Nat (English)
F Buddy, Cameron, Lambert, Sicily, J.Thomas, Fritsch (ZGL, Garlett)

On the block:
Thomas
Fiorini
Lambert
ZGL

Im happy to go aggressive to fix up, depsite already using 2 trades. Im thinking Thomas down to Ryan, and Fiorini to a premo FWD via Garlett

• Tyruddanaut says:

I’d trade Fiorini to a premium defender imo. You don’t want to over stack your forward line, then you won’t have enough flexibility

117. LUKE says:

Merrett -> Coniglio . Sicily -> Laird. Thoughts anyone?

118. FearTheBeard says:

So I was going Nank in for Kreuz. Hit reverse. Anyone got any info on the big man? Likely to get up? Seen it on Carlton site as someone said but wondering if anyone knows anything?

119. BlueBaggerJosh says:

Will have to field Garlett for Sicily, should I just trade him to Curnow?

• BlueBaggerJosh says:

Team for reference, 12.3k, 28 trades

DEF:Laird, Hibberd, Simpson, Doedee, Finlayson, Murray (Naughton, Murphy)

MID: Danger, Dusty, Titch, Fyfe, Cripps, Coniglio, Kelly, Holman (Brayshaw, Banfield, Barry)

RUC: Gawn, Nic Nat (Loophole Lavender)

FWD: Heeney, Billings, Smith, Sicily, Fritsch, Ryan (Giles Langdon, Garlett)

120. Nick says:

Hogan or taranto? Who would you choose community

• ChewyOnYa says:

not hogan, he cant do that each week and taranto is looking great

• johnno2908 says:

Of the 2, Taranto for mine. Getting a lot of the footy, and I feel like he is a lot less likely to drop a steaming turd sub 40 score like a Hogan type will.

• Whatyasmokin says:

Hogan. Hes been talked up all these years for a reason, he actually has talent, plus will be a POD.

121. CheekyNandos7 says:

Big tick. Great cash making manoevre. Naughton may go up $20K at best, Murphy will make much more coin. Sit back and watch O'Connor this week before pulling the trigger on him.
Cheers mate.

• CheekyNandos7 says:

Thanks Tophawk. Silly pick in Clark but hopefully he hits his BE of 37 and goes up a tad which means I'll make (a little) more money on the Clark to O'Connor trade.

122. The Ranger says:

Been away for Easter and got back to find I've not had a great round again, that's two scores below 2200 for me.
Crouch is the big out for me this week and I started with a 5-0-3 structure in the mids so I feel I have to trade him.
Should I go down to Cogs?
Sideways to Oliver or Ablett?
Also considered Menegola to the mids via Higgins then trade out Menegola to another mid premo (or Cogs) and trade in Ryan for Venables in the fwd line.
This leaves me thin in the fwd line but enables me to keep Crouch.
Any other suggestions?

• johnno2908 says:

Oliver will be a top 5 mid, and a massive POD. Good choice.
Coniglio is going well at the moment, and what does the extra cash allow you to do elsewhere?
I would hate to trade Crouch to Ablett, only for him to get injured. Obviously anyone can get injured, but if history is anything to go by, Ablett will definitely miss games.

• The Ranger says:

Yeah its probably between Cogs and Oliver.
Very tempted to jump on Ryan too.
There's not many fast moving cows this year and that score at the weekend is enticing.

• Defying_Madness says:

Huh? There are a lot of fast moving cows this year

• The Ranger says:

I guess it depends how many you call a lot.
Doedee, Finlayson, Kelly, Holman, perhaps Ryan…the rest seem to be the 60-70 range point scorers which I put as averagely fast cows. Everyone is going to have that first four.
Did I miss any?

• Patch says:

Good call Johnno – Oliver an excellent choice. Personally swayed here by Cogs' price – we may never see him this cheap again in SC while Oliver will drop to 580k or so at some stage.

Cogs for mine

• The Ranger says:

Yeah the longer I look at it the more I'm liking the Cogs pick.
Having had a pretty ordinary start the extra cash might give me a jump come fence painting time.

123. The Ranger says:

And who are we listing as Must Have rookies?
I think I have most of them but it's always good to see other peoples take on this.

• DacZawson says:

Holman, Kelly, Doedee and Finlayson are probably the only MUST haves, but you can reason that you should trade for others

• The Ranger says:

Yeah that's all I can see Dac, the rest are a way behind except for Ryan maybe, and that's only on the back of one score.

124. Ahmad rubas says:

Which trade is better
1) Dow and Clark out for better midfield rookies
2) hibberd and Clark to defender rookie and dusty

• Patch says:

Rookies essential mate. Option one for mine

• Ahmad rubas says:

Which midfield rookies should I bring in? Already have Kelly Holman brayshaw banfield. Should I get Barry?

125. Jim says:

Thoughts on going Brayshaw and Stephenson to Bonner and L Fogarty for quick cash gen?

• redherringfc says:

seems a bit desperate.

Nothing wrong with Brayshaw since you started the year with him.

He’ll make around $100 to 150k as a guess, how much do you expect these other guys to make?

How much can that trade make you later in the season?

Haven’t paid attention to Stephenson, but guess similar story.

• redherringfc says:

Just checked Stephenson’s scores and he seems ok.

Sit back and let them fatten up.

126. BrownlowBoy says:

What are we doing with Michael Hibberd? Lack of kick ins seems to be hurting his score.

• David C says:

I've been telling everybody to hold hold hold, and then today I traded him.

• Cam_H says:

I'm in the same boat. "Don't sideways trade" I keep telling myself, but going to Kade Simpson is projected to yield +$100K if projections are anything to go by ($29K price difference, plus Simpson to go up $34K, and Hibberd to go down $38K), while Heath Shaw is a potential $150K gain by the same logic.

I'm going to go with Kade Simpson on 'gut feel' that Michael Hibberd may take a few more weeks at best to find SC form, while Carlton have built a plan around Simpson since November and Docherty's ACL rupture. If Hibberd does bounce back to be a bankable 95+ points per round, hopefully he'll be more affordable and our rookies have fattened.

127. Nick says:

Crouch to Coniglio?
already got J.Kelly in the mid therefore would have 2 gws mids. thoughts?
would have 500+k in the bank to get danger in future weeks if i complete this trade

128. /// says:

So i have 367k in the bank and i need to get rid of crouch who do i get and also need to get rid of J. lever who should i bring in.

129. Steve says:

Still have 30 trades, really rate my team and havent got any pressing issues.
Im going for league glory this year, so is it really so bad to trade Sicily to Charlie Curnow to give me the best chance in winning the round?

• Patch says:

Yeah, probably Stevo. Would hold.

That said, good stuff on being happy with your side! Wish I could say the same!

130. Richard says:

Thoughts on Tim Taranto community?

• Patch says:

Lek and I spoke about him after we stopped recording. Diggiry damn he could fill that void of significance. Take a huge set of gonads though

131. Bob says:

I'm really considering the risk of going Hunter clark to Fisher via garlett dpp thoughts?

132. DARREN GASPER says:

Jaeger Yay Or Nay?

• Patch says:

Lower priority to fix for mine. Make sure your rooks are good before you jump to ditch him.

Will probably improve as well. However if you can turn him to Coniglio do so!

133. KSinny says:

Tbh i think holding Hibberd is a risk.. he isn't taking kick ins which seems to be affecting his score badly as well as Lewis and Lever both in the backline now. Personally im trading him to Simmo before his price skyrockets.
Thoughts?

• Bottom says:

Thinking the same thing. My only problem is Zac Langdons injury. I'd prefer not to make 2 trades early. What is a better priority, Hibberd to a high performing simpson or an injured langdon to another rookie. I already have venables, ryan, fritsch and garlett (mid) so there isn't many rookie options worth trading in for.

• Derek says:

Exactly what I have been doing the maths on.

Trade Langdon to Ryan, get a good price rise over next 2 or 3 weeks then down grade Ryan to a bubble boy……. like Langdon!!

At the end of that, 2 trades gone, exact same team, but have some cash in the bank…. maybe $200k if Ryan has another decent game.

Is $200k worth two trades?

Maybe I’d do it for $300k, but that will require Ryan knocking out another 100pts in the next few weeks.

It’s annoying GWS have those early games not able to loophole him.

134. Sean says:

Does anyone have a PDF copy of Jock's magazine from a few years ago? I purchased the pdf but the hard drive it was on has crashed. Any help is appreciated.

135. What_Bear says:

Hi Guys,

I need some advice on my team.

DEF: Laird, Hibberd, Savage, Doedee, Finlayson, Murray (Naughton, O'Conner)
Mid: Danger, Martin, Fyfe, Cripps, Cogs, Brayshaw, Kelly, Holman (Banfield, Garlett, Barry)
RUCKS: Gawn, Nank (olanga)
FWD: Heeney, Greene, Billings, Sicily, Lobb, Ryan (Venables, Fritch)
$166/k and 30 trades

Trade 1. Naughton down to Murphy
Trade 2. Lobb to Keeper forward. Buddy? or McLean/Smith or hold (think Lobb was a bad pick)

Thanks in advance for any replies

• Derek says:

Lobb is Clear #1 ruck in a very good team. He had no pre-season and it showed in second half against Collingwood.

97 first week against a poor ruck.

He will improve and has Sinclair this week so should do ok.

He is in 2% of teams. If he comes good you are way head.

• Derek says:

If you were to trade to a buddy or any other keeper, you need to at least wait until their price falls. It always does.

• What_Bear says:

Thanks. Good advice as always. May go Naughton to Bonner instead, or have 30 trades next week

136. Billy Brainless says:

Hey please select what option is best – thanks

Forward line – Heeney, Petracca, Sicily, Fritsch, Ryan, Venables … Garlett, Rayner.
244k in the bank.
202k (Rayner OUT!!!)

Option 1 – D.Smith 439k (BE 55)
Option 2 – Z.Fisher 263k (BE -48)
Option 3 – A.Christensen 267k (BE -10)

Is D.Smith a top 6/10 forward – predicted average for the season?
Z.Fisher is now or never, can he average decent? until upgraded (100k+ cash cow) and the 183k in the bank without Smith could be spent elsewhere.

• BVB21 says:

Option 1

• Maverick_ says:

Unsure about Fischer too early to tell. Would hate to see u trade from one spud to another burning 2 trades if he also flops. But if it pays off then hat off to u billy your a braver man than I. Christenson just makes me nervous an I won’t touch him not sure why just prefer to steer clear. But Smith is a keeper will go top 6-8 easy only using 1 trade but leaves nothin in the kitty. If your fine with that then option 1 imo

• Tyruddanaut says:

Definitely Smith. Avg 97 off 2
Surely premium forward

137. Tyruddanaut says:

What do you prefer, community? Zac Langdon or Aaron Naughton.

Langdon has solid Job security, but won’t be playing until R6 at least
Naughton has to last 10 weeks minimum in the bulldogs back line due to Morris’ injury

Langdon scores much higher and is much cheaper leading to more potential growth
Naughton scores low, gradually increasing in price, but also could cover for any donuts with 40 points instead of a trade

Langdon is potentially a downgrade target, bring him in for a Garlett, Barry, Murphy or Ryan when he comes back. He can’t be used as a loophole due to all his games being early Saturday or Friday
Naughton will earn cash now, around 50k by Langdon’s return

Thoughts community, considering both are benched, or should I remove both

• StevoRivo says:

Tough one Tryud, as I also have both on the bench. While I’m inclined to hold, I have Sicily out this week. That means I am considering Naughton to Bonner. I plan to keep Langdon on the bench. I’m hoping Keefe takes Langdon’s place with his injury, generates some cash while sitting at F7, and can act as swing cover for the loose cannon Sicily who warms the D8 seat this week.

• Maverick_ says:

I have both and will hold them.
Naughton is a slow burn but he will play his JS looks rock solid till the byes & I have all the ‘must haves’
ZGL also in favour with the gws coach’s works hard and looks good out there. So He will walk back in the side in 4 weeks. There is no other fwd rookie screaming pick me so I’ll hold n wait patiently. I always run out of trades come finals. Not this year hopefully

• StevoRivo says:

Naughton to Bonner not critical as it’s a 50/50 call. Will wait to see if any more injuries from the week as I am hearing Devon Smith is in doubt?

• INPieman says:

Dev smith in doubt. Really. That would be a disaster. Already have Sicily & ZGL to deal with

• Tyruddanaut says:

He got a scan but not because he was injured. It’s just to make sure he’s fine

• INPieman says:

No mention of him on the clubs injury report

• Derek says:

I know Fritsch was injured on weekend and is in a bit of doubt for this week. Nothing about Devon.

• CheekyNandos7 says:

Im thinking of going Naughton to Murphy and Langdon to Ryan. Leaves me with $150k in the bank and some faster money making options in my team. Will probably bring Langdon back in when he returns from injury.

• Derek says:

I don’t have Ryan, so Langdon to Ryan for some quick cash is tempting.

I don’t think Higgins is far away from playing, so need to be able to downgrade a rookie when he is on bubble

138. Weirdo says:

Is it worth sideways trading Dahl to McLean???
Fwd line is billings, Dahl, mundy, smith, Fritsch, garlett, Ryan, Langdon

• Weirdo says:

No takers

• BVB21 says:

I think it’s a good trade.

Lots of people also going Taranto and Fisher but I think
Maclean is much better choice

• Marty says:

Too sideways imo but in saying that I have McLean and he will get plenty of midfield time with Libba out.

139. TommyC99 says:

Is it worth trading keeffe – Murphy? Worried that Murphy’s JS is shaky but in saying that, keeffe isn’t playing anyway. I’m planning on flicking mills so this trade goes ne the required cash, But doing this trade means I lose the link with Sicily in the fwds. Thoughts guys?

140. Jordan says:

I’m very stuck here… I need to downgrade Rayner to a 117-130k rookie.
Should I go with waterman, Gowers, Venables, or even Mark o’connor?

I’m liking Gowers and waterman out of those 4 but I’m honestly not confident with picking any of them!!
Thoughts?

• Derek says:

there was some talk about waterman making way for Kennedy when he comes back.

141. shemmistwarehouse says:

i never trade premo’s out this early but hibberd-shaw and naughton-bonner looks very juicy

• INPieman says:

I'm nervous about Hibberd as well Shem. If I can punt him this week I will

142. Cyriledagain says:

Not sure if I should hold M Crouch – 3 weeks on the sidelines.
I have Titch, Kelly, Fyfe, Cripps, Coniglio and all rookies. $257k
Thoughts appreciated.

143. MRmoMAN says:

In my opinion hibberd has to go… It's obvious he has had a role change with the limited kick ins he's had unlike previous years which would obviously increases his scoring by a fair bit. With the dees off to a good start this year i seriously dont see anything changing either? theres no need too. Lewis is there VC, and IMO will continue to be the 'leader' down back.

at 545k i can only see him avg 85 max, and at 100k cheaper i like the look off both ryan, hurn and shaw..

Seriously think if you have an underperforming midpricer for example JOM its worth downgrading to either one of the 3, and upgrading that midpricer to an uber premium.

Is it worth trading a midpricer to a midpricer like coniglio? personally i think thats just a waste of two trades. do you want him in your final 8 mids? Dont think he will keep up his current form however do see him avg 105 from here out.

The real Q is shaw hurn or ryan? would love your opinions,

Cheers MO

144. Jordan says:

Thought on English from the doggies?
Will he make enough cash?

• Derek says:

If you have him , keep him.

Trengove out for 3 weeks. Roughead concussed. He should play a few more games.

145. Jay says:

Matt Crouch out for 3, so have to trade

left field trade: Matt Crouch -> Zac Fisher (via Garlett DPP) – will put Holman on field

Midfield will be: Martin, Mitchell, J. Kelly, Cripps, Gaff, Coniglio, T. Kelly and Holman (Garlett, Fogarty, Barry)

146. Simo says:

I have enough coin to trade Fyfe to Dusty. Do it?

cheers

147. BrownlowBoy says:

Currently in unfamiliar territory here.

30 trades left and I have no reason to use any of them. Sicily misses a week, Hibberd underperforming, Naughton underperforming.
I have all the main rookies – don't have either Fogarty but have the good ones.

Is anyone else still holding?

• Crowboy94 says:

I'm probably going to Hold. In a similar position to You, just have Lambert underperforming also. But his work rate has been elite, so I'm thinking his scoring will come.

• INPieman says:

Willing to put up with Sicily for a week. But looking to made a move on Hibberd. Can't ignore the role Simmo is playing

• The Ranger says:

NIce position to be in BB! I'd hold if I was you.
I've got Crouch out, Langdon out, Kreuzer tbc, Menegola stinking it up and Naughton giving me the irrits cos I should have stuck with O'Connor.
Prob gonna move on Crouch and Langdon providing Kreuzer gets up.
Tempted to hold Langdon and dump Menegola tho…

148. steve says:

Trying to decide between Fogarty or O'Connor , both Geelong.

Who has the best JS, are they worth trading in for a rookie not playing at this point? (Shipley)

A word of advice would be appreciated.

• Derek says:

i like O'Conner as a player. He has only played one game so you can wait a week on him. He also has DPP

• Tyruddanaut says:

Fogarty seems to have better JS as O'Connor was a late-in. Fogarty also has more potential growth as a bench rookie

149. Gsal says:

Hi community,

Question. Should I trade out Crouch to Dusty and keep Naughton but trade out Rayner to Bonner?

Then my team will look like this
Simpson, Hurley, Laird, Bonner, Finlayson,Doedee (Naughton, Murray)
Dusty, Titch, Kelly, Fyfe, Coniglio, JOM, Kelly, Holman (Brayshaw, Banfield, Garlett)
Gawn, NicNat (Cameron)
Heaney, Dahlhaus, Smith, Sicily, Christensen, Fritsch (Venables, ZGL)

Thanks Guys

• Finnius says:

great idea.

• Tyruddanaut says:

Yeah

• Tyruddanaut says:

My question is: How did you get Rayner into defence without trading a Backman or using a DPP swing

• Gsal says:

Hey man,

I traded out crouch first to dusty then rayner to trade flicked garlett to mids from fwd then flicked Sicily to fwd from def which then I was able to bring in bonner 👌

150. Dave says:

Danger,Dusty, Titch, Kelly, Fyfe,Kelly,Holman,Barry (Brayshaw, Banfield, Garlett)

Billings,Mclean, Smith, Lambert, Christensen, Fritsch (Ryan,ZGL)

Need help going to get rid of lambert should I straight swap for Heeney or Coniglio via Garlett d/p

• Holty says:

How does ur midfield and forward line look? If u went Coniglio, how many rookies will you need to play onfield in the forward line?

• Dave says:

This is my current set up

Danger,Dusty, Titch, Kelly, Fyfe,Kelly,Holman,Barry (Brayshaw, Banfield, Garlett)

Billings,Mclean, Smith, Lambert, Christensen, Fritsch (Ryan,ZGL)

• Holty says:

Id go Coniglio then. You will have to field 2 forward rookies which isnt ideal but at least u can remove Barry from the midfield.

• Tyruddanaut says:

Go with Heeney, You don't have enough back-up to go to a midfield premium and it's best if you don't over-stack the midfield

• Dave says:

I was leaning that way but I have 100k in the bank if I get coniglio instead heeney for a future up in the fwd line

• Dave says:

I was leaning that way but I will have 100k in the bank if I get coniglio instead heeney for a future up in the fwd line

• redherringfc says:

If you pick Coniglio is it with the aim that he stays until the end of the season? Do you see him as a top 8 midfield player come years end?

Coniglio will probably get you more points over a few rounds, but picture your end of year team. Pretty sure you have Heeney in it. Is Coniglio in that picture?

• Dave says:

Good point heeney should be top 6, coniglio I didt thick he will be top 8 , what do u thick he can avg coniglio to be a keeper

• redherringfc says:

His numbers look like he maybe able to keep up at 110 to 120, if you look at his previous years. He was definitely on an upward trend up to 2016, when he averaged over 100. Two long breaks last year (injuries, i’m pretty sure).

If he can average 110+ and play every game then he is amazing value.

I missed that boat and have no intention of bringing him in.

151. Help me says:

Started bell instant regret, but considering the following trades this week,
Bell to Ryan allowing me to upgrade naughton to bonnar

Thoughts???

152. Banga says:

Hey guys, I’m new to SuperCoach and would love your help. Hold or trade Mills? In terms of rookies, The only rookies I don’t have are Ryan or Murphy. The problematic rookies I have are naughton, Dow and ZGL. I also have Sicily but will be holding him. What should I do. Only got 16k in the bank

• Tyruddanaut says:

I'd trade Dow first. Try to get in all you can of:
Def: Doedee, Finlayson
Mid, Finlayson, Tim Kelly, Holman, Barry, Garlett, Banfield
Ruck: English
Fwd: English, Fritsch, Ryan, Garlett, Venables

• Banga says:

Thanks for the reply mate! Would you hold or trade Mills? Mills – Ryan looking real good but not sure if it’s a priority

153. Tyruddanaut says:

Selwood, Simpson or Cripps?
I’m asking about bye structure, average and supercoach relevance

154. ProTravo says:

Thinking I might bite the bullet and give Hibberd the flick. Many probably in the same boat . . .
Not convinced he can maintain his 'premo' status and thinking he may be the 2018 Heath Shaw and just lose us cash.

• Tyruddanaut says:

A change of role has caused him this. For his old role back, Lewis must be dropped and Vince must return to the midfield

155. J.Bronson says:

Trading Kreuzer and Caddy.
–> Naitanui and Toby Greene, or Goldstein and Robbie Gray?

Or, someone else…?

Cheers

• Tyruddanaut says:

If Kreuzer plays, hold! He will be a top 3 ruck, just watch him play

• J.Bronson says:

I know he will be top 3….. IF he plays. Groin injury…. just seems dodgy

156. Ian says:

Hi Community
I’ve got Ablett and the required kitty to trade to Danger. Just after a reality check? I’m thinking of waiting until Ablett misses a game before pulling the trigger.

157. hedski says:

Looks like Tobias is in some doubt for this weekend as well. Crap.

• Tyruddanaut says:

This is why the flog rule applies…..

• hedski says:

He scored 130 odd in his first game Ty and I don't think hammy tightness is an act of floggery.
Having said that I did double up on the flog factor this year and have Sicily out this week so I guess i had it coming!

• Skindog says:

Sure is Hedski, with only Garlett and Fritch on the pine im really thinking of making the trade if hes going to be out longer,,,

158. Danny says:

Is bonner a must have?! I can't decide whether to pick him or not

• Tyruddanaut says:

I'm not sure myself… I'm hoping he is better than English, who is my alternative – and will be benched anyway-, but you shouldn't get him in no matter what. His scoring will vary

• pod says:

His probably not a must have yet but if already have him you'd be stoked. Only 2 games gone avg 97.5 so far and had 1 game against the Swans. If he reaches his 86 b/e this week he'll go up $50k. I'm betting he'll go above his b/e against the Lions in Adelaide. He then plays Bombers at Etihad, Cats in Adelaide and then Norf at Etihad. Big chance of decent scores IF they shut the fu##in roof.

• pod says:

* b/e -44, projection 86

• Derek says:

If the next three weeks he scores 72 after round 5 his price would increased by $110k and his BE would be sitting at 78.

Compare that to Naughton scoring 50’s in the next 3 weeks. He will increase $65k and BE of about 44.

159. Defying_Madness says:

If I have to field either Murphy or Naughton at D6 should I still keep Naughton as others have recommended or move him on to Bonner.

• Tyruddanaut says:

Move him on. He'll generate not enough cash, not enough quickly. I'm hoping he won't drop in price for 4 weeks but i doubt it

160. BlueBaggerJosh says:

Option 1-Sicily to Curnow (will have to field Garlett otherwise)
Option 2- Hibberd to Shaw and Naughton to Bonner
Option 3-Hold
Thoughts?

161. JugHead says:

Copied here from another thread…

Lots will disagree, but I dont like starting the season with a non playing (no cash generation) rookie for loopholing. The SC gods normally provide me with a non playing loopholer fairly quickly into the season. Usually one of my premo mids dammit. Perfect job for Danger in rd1. Now….

One of the better teams for supplying a loopholer is WCE with a fair few late games. I already have Ryan. Kennedy is due back in a couple of weeks. Any sense in getting Waterman or Venables as well (to replace Rayner who has to go), hopefully making a little bit of cash with them, then using them for loopholing when they get dropped to make way for Kennedy? The way I see it, one of these 3 WCE fwd rookies will make way for Kennedy, and if they don't, hopefully they are a slow burning moneymaker. With all that in mind….. is Rayner to Waterman a worthwhile trade? Or am I overthinking this ? ?

• Tyruddanaut says:

What is the point of that money if you're just going to keep the player anyways

• JugHead says:

I'll cull them at some point. The key thing is their value will go up a bit. Rayner's looks like dropping.

• INPieman says:

Rayner to anyone is a good trade

162. Steeeve says:

I have Laird, Hibberd and Sicily in defence (then rookies).
Should I:
A) hold
B) hibberd to Bonner and D Fogarty to C Curnow
C) Sicily to Bonner and D fogarty to C Curnow

Can't see D Fog making much cash, can't rack up possies playing deep forward.

• Tyruddanaut says:

Curnow plays similar to a key forward, so don't expect 100s every week.
Hibberd has a role change but Sicily is just a flog, who will score what Hibberd scores in 5 rounds in 4. This round you just put a rookie in his place, who will make it worthwhile.

So, either option B or A

• Steeeve says:

Yeah i was really happy with sicily roubd one. Then flogged himself in no time. Will hold both he and hibberd i think. Bonner won't gain much cash scoring 75s.

163. juddy says:

lambert > taranto
lobb > ryan

thoughts?

either of them worth holding

• Tyruddanaut says:

No.
Lobb is going to start slowly, he's just adapting to his new role. And don't trade him this week either, against one of the 5 weaker ruckmen. And GWS plays two of these teams twice. Give him time and don't expect 100s

Lambert to Taranto sounds good

164. Maverick_ says:

lobb to a taranto or L.Ryan worth some thought?
the latter would kickstart my dusty kitty nicely…
dunno why i selected lobb to begin with.

165. Ahmad rubas says:

Do either mark O'Connor or Ed Richards have any sort of job security?

• SuperCoach Roach says:

Malcolm Turnbull has better job security than the 2 of them put together. Hope that answers your question (in all seriousness I don't even know who Ed Richards plays for)

• Ahmad rubas says:

Ed Richards plays for the dogs. I didn't know who he was either until I was looking for 150k max defence rookies not named doedee Murray finlayson or Murphy haha

• Russty_ says:

Too early to tell at the moment Ahmad.

• Ahmad rubas says:

Thanks for the reply perhaps have to find another way to get dusty in

166. Marty says:

Important decision week.

I feel Simpson will be one of the top defenders if not the best. You don't get him in this week he goes up significantly.

Question is:

Is it better to go Mills to Bonner and Crouch to Danger or Crouch to Cogs and Mills to Simpson.

I thought Mills would be given more midfield time but that's not happening. Danger has a breakeven of 181 so is it better to wait three or four weeks for a cow to fatten and go mooooooo, or grab him now. Structurally my team looks better with Simpson and Cogs in but I can never underestimate the Danger factor.

• redherringfc says:

I’m sick of telling people to hold their trades, so I’ll go with a different approach.

Trade. Both look like good options, but if you’re really worried about the $$, pick up cogs and bonner this week before they rise significantly. Then go after Danger and Simpson next week and the week after, if necessary.

• Marty says:

Agree with people overtrading this week but Crouch needs to go given he is out for a month.

167. PuntRoadRoar says:

Flog #1: Toby Greene, Flog #2: James Sicily, Flog #3: Me for picking them both…what was I thinking.
Only way it could get worse is if I wake up on Monday morning and find I traded in Jake Stringer in my sleep.

• INPieman says:

Adrian Dodoro might be feeling the same way about Stringer

• PuntRoadRoar says:

Have heard that Dodoro may give up his job as list manager if he can achieve his other two objectives of getting Brendan Fevola and Warwick Capper into the Essendon forward line.

168. Crowboy94 says:

Thinking I'm going to trade Lambert to Tarranto.

Do people think Tarranto will average over 90? Just looked at his stats and they look fantastic!

• Doc_1 says:

Thinking of the same crowboy.
With Scully going down he should get a bit more mid time as well.

• Crowboy94 says:

He has already been playing pure MID and that won't change. Id rather risk him then wait for Lambert to get his ass into gear haha.

Now I just need a rookie to downgrade Clark to.

• INPieman says:

There are currently 22 Fwd eligible players Av more than 98. The number of 2nd year players that have Av over 95 you can count on 2 hands & change. If you picking Taranto as a keeper the odds are heavily stacked against you. Stepping stone only trade. If he keeps it up for the year that's a massive bonus. But the odds are against it with so many other players performing it's ballsy

• The Ranger says:

When's Hopper back?
He'll take some of those inside points.

169. Sauce says:

Buddy or Walters

170. SgtMarshallBB says:

Hey Community,
Now ive confronted an obstacle in my team and am struggling in the process of overcoming it. I have Beams at M7 at this point in time, and i am hesitant to sideways trade, these are my options:
1. Hold on to him and hope he offers some sort of premo value
2. Trade Beams down to Coniglio to make 100k so i have some extra $$$
3. Trade Beams to another big mid (keep in mind i only have 20k in the bank)

In need of some help!

• Beamo says:

My predicament too. I like coniglio or a straight swap to a selwood or cripps. Was also considering Simpson via dpp.

171. Doc_1 says:

Lads, which option do people think is best:

1. Naughton-> Bonner
O’Meara -> fisher, macpherson or Christenson (and which one?)

2. O’Meara -> Taranto.

Need to sure up my forward line (have ahern as non playing loop) and now Langdon injured. Leaves Fritsch and Ryan at F5/6 for 4 weeks which I’m not loving.

• redherringfc says:

O’meara had 27 touches in game 1, 14 contested. Better efficiency and he cracks 100. My guess is that game took it’s toll on him.

What did expect from him? You took a risk at $315k. If he doesn’t get injured, at least for a while, he’ll do exactly what you could reasonably expect from him.

172. Marty says:

Comments on Barrass. I don't remember his name being discussed but 106.5 average makes me take notice

173. Holty says:

Menegola out
Curnow in.
Thoughts?

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Bit of a sideways trade Holty. But Menegola has been absolutely putrid and will slump in price. If you have all the right rooks and have no other major issues in your team then perhaps consider. I have Hibberd, but I am not trading him to Simpson despite the obvious temptation. I want 30 trades in the bank after 3 rounds. Cheers mate.

• Holty says:

Good point tophawk. Cheers mate. Although its early i think ive seen enough to suggest he has a different roll this year with Ablett and now Kelly in the side. I hardly saw him in the mids on the weekend.

• SCdonkey says:

Tough one Holty, I had Menegola at the preseason.
What worried me, how much time will he get through the mid with the likes of Danger, Gaz, Jelwood, Duncan and Scooter then comes TK the jet in the frame now.

174. Mike says:

I had Hannabery all last year and regreted it all year. Never came good . Should have traded him out early . I wont be making the same mistake ag ain with HIBBERD. Hibberd to Simpson . No regrets just relief

• Russty_ says:

Trust your gut feeling Mike.

• redherringfc says:

I’m pretty sure Hanners was at 600k when I picked him up last year, so he must have done something at some point. He sure didn’t do anything after that.

• ProTravo says:

Is Simpson the right replacement?
Everyone's jumping on because of his good start but can he back it up all season?

175. arz says:

Naughton to murphy
Bell to mclean
1 forward rookie of fristch or liam ryan
3 mid rookies – kelly holman brayshaw

Or

Naughton to Murphy
Bell to cogz
2 forward rookies from fristch, ryan and garlett
Mid rookies: kelly holman (brayshaw on bench)

Currently leaning towards mclean as he is more chance of being a top 8 fwd than cogz a top 10mid

What do you guys think?

176. Reillz says:

Peoples thought on Robbie gray

• dontblushbaby says:

Should be top 6 Fwd IMO, I'll be looking at getting him to my team after his Round 10 bye , but most others will also

177. Nick says:

Oliver/Fisher or Selwood/Taranto which duo would you take?

• BVB21 says:

Option 2 but would like to see your midfield. Better options than Selwood.

• JugHead says:

Definitely option 2 for me. Not convinced Fisher will keep scoring like he has first 2 rounds.

178. Jess says:

Is Naughton to Christensen a decent trade?
Already have bonner.
This would allow me to swap sicily into defence and loophole murray/murphy this week.
Thoughta?

• TOPHAWK1 says:

Yes Jess! I like it. Christensen=Solid points and cash generation, and Naughton= Little points and little cash generation.

Then when you are you are ready, you can kick Sicily the hell out of your side!

• Jess says:

Cheers. Decided to punt on fisher. Minor breakout year for him with more midfield opportunity. Wish me luck tophawks 😀😀

179. SC_Sixty6 says:

http://m.gwsgiants.com.au/news/2018-04-04/the-ori

Anyone want an absolute 100% reason to trade this Muppet that can't even string a sentence together let alone answer a simple question have a listen to this podcast. Especially from 30min mark onwards. FLOG

• Paul says:

I know a bloke that used to work at a footy club and he said that only about 4 or 5 players in the whole place could be more than a brickies labourer if they weren't footy players. Whats the point? Footy players are idiots, doesn't mean they're not good footy players.

• Sc_Wow says:

Did you listen to it? Pretty much says he can’t help hitting blokes and doesn’t see it changing, getting suspended is just a thing that he can’t change in his eyes

• Russty_ says:

I won't pick that FLOG until he hasn't been suspended for 8 weeks…don't need dickheads letting us down.

• SC_Sixty6 says:

Hope he doesn't play so I correct trade him. Greene and crouch are my only real concerns so team traveling nicely.

• Soothsayer says:

Same here, crouch and Greene. “it’s just what I do”. I wonder if he’ll be playing this week, glad I don’t have Dahlhaus.

180. Paul says:

Out Weitering and Brayshaw, In Finlayson and Coniglio. Leaves me with Tom Bell still in my team though. Is he going to play this week? Or should I be getting rid of him ASAP?

181. PilMagnet says:

Tell me I am right community? Looking to corrective trade Savage to Simpson – sideways I know but going for points, good start with 2300+ and 2400+ so far.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Wrong, what the hell for, Savage has scored 92&97 so far, find another way to get Simmo.

• Russty_ says:

I think Savage is a spud waiting to happen so I wouldn't be against that, up to you if you think that is corrective or not, many guys will tell you no but I don't think Savage will maintain a good average this year. He's in a crap side, got hammered last week, and will probably continue to get hammered, that has to come into the equation.
Up to you ultimately but I'm a Saints supporter and I never even considered putting Savage in my side.

• PilMagnet says:

Simpson likely to go up in $ while I wait for "right time" to trade in – hence the correctiveness to my trade. I am pretty much convinced, just interested in feedback, appreciated.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Hi PilMagnet, interested to know what you backline is,if Savage is a D3 or D4,I didn't pick him myself, thought about it,but in the end thought there were better players, but if I had picked him I wouldn't be rushing out to trade him,you must have some other pressing problem in your team, then again going on your scores so far maybe not.

• PilMagnet says:

Sav is D3. Was looking at him as a POD to start with. Team is solid nothing really pressing, been lucky early. Hurl and laird make up d1 and 2 rookies there out. Just wasn't sold on Simpson prior to his good start, thought a young bloke would step up in defence at blues.

• JohnDJ59 says:

Why not just keep Savage for now and have Simpson as a upgrade target,it's not as if Savage is under performing.I'm only using trades for 1 injures,2 a very bad mistake, like a premium player only getting under 80 scores,3 down & upgrading players.I guess you could say yours is a upgrade, but we are only two games in and there is nothing wrong with your scores,it just doesn't seem very pressing,it's not as if we are talking about Hibberd or Mills to Simpson.Your team will be better with Simpson no doubt and you will most probably go ahead with the trade,as it is your decision in the end,but that was my take on it.

182. Andrew says:

Hey guys after some advice. Really happy with my team. Only real issue is Beams. I dont have Ryan or Murphy but have all the other main rookies. Have 3 options for my trades this week and interested to hear thoughts.

A) Beams to Cripps & Zgl to ryan/keefe to murphy- Leaves me with round 185k

B) Beams to Ryan via dpp & Keefe to Simpson- Leaves me with 193k

C) Beams to Ryan & Keefe to Murphy- Leaves me with 607k

Leaning A however with b and c it only means playing Kelly in the mid which is fine with brayshaw and holman. I only have 2 premos in defence w bonner so Simmo would be playing instead of Murray. C is risky but allows me to have another look at players/take advantage of price drops and potentially go 2 up in one week.

183. Carlton888 says:

Mills to Simpson
Menegola to Toranto
Thoughts?

184. Steve says:

I'm trading Hibberd out,
should i take Laird or Simpson?

Thank you

• PilMagnet says:

Aim for both if you can?

• Russty_ says:

You should probably have already started with Laird, but you didn't so now you need to get Laird, wait on Simpson cause he's very old for a Footy player and could crap his bowels at any moment., at least if you get Laird now, you might have a chance to still win a few Leagues.

185. Ken says:

How is Clayton Oliver with a tag on him..surely Jacobs goes onto him this week…how did he do in JLT when he versed north Melbourne?

• NoLanguage says:

He'll struggle with Jacobs wearing him like a glove. I'd stay clear of the VC option

• deeman says:

He performed just about as normal last year when tagged
Also picked up 20 odd contested possies and 3 bronlow votes last year against north

186. pod says:

Look at Patty Dows supercoach description in Supercoach it says 'His coach won't be happy with his 77 touches' lLOL

187. ChewyOnYa says:

Is naughton to bonner worth it? My team has had no injuries (other than ZGL) and only other corrective trade I am considering is Hibberd to Simpson.

Do i pull the trigger?

188. Doc_1 says:

Need to bring in some forward support.

What do people think of:
Hibberd -> Bonner (D3)
Ahern -> McLean (Pushes Dev Smith to F5).

Only other option I can come up with is Ahern to Christiansen or MacPherson. (+/- Hibberd -> Simpson).

189. HammerTime says:

Should i hold Caddy? The podcast suggests i should offload because of the suspension (harsh lol), but he has looked great kicking 3 goals in both rounds and plays mid type role for the tigers too. Only yielding two scores of 84, but with a small lift of efficiency they could easily have been 100s.

• Neverweaken says:

i got rid of him. got caught last year. hes only ever gonna be an 80-90 player i think. should have learned last year.

• Brian says:

Scores 3 goals and only 84 pts. He wont get 3 goals in every game. Then he scores 50.

• Swans2012 says:

I've got the cash so I'm going to send him up to gray

190. Placey150 says:

How do you trade player that is a midfielder to a player from another position(eg. backman) ?

191. Placey150 says:

What should I do with Hibberd??

192. Ethan says:

Thoughts on trading Will Brodie for Stephenson from the pies? Brodie is my only non playing rookie but has been named emery twice (have olango as loophole option)

• Brian says:

You’ll probably end up trading back in Brodie later so I would hold. Unless you need to get in one of the top cash cows. Stephenson is not that imo. Even waiting another week will open up the possibility of getting in o Conner who has a very handy dpp

193. Eric says:

Hey everyone just need so help if anyone can provide it.

I can bring in either Simpson and C. Curnow for Hibberd and L. Hunter

Or Dangerfield and Liam Ryan

Or Simpson and Liam Ryan and bank the money for Dangerfield

I have $213,400 in the kitty as I was always going to bring in Dangerfield for Ablett but the great master is doing too well to let him go lol.

If I Simpson and Curnow option.. I’ll only have 10k left. So no Dangerfield unless his price drops???

194. BockChoy says:

Higgins will debut for the Tigers!

195. BigM says:

Couple of risky trades am thinking of – any thoughts
Hibberd to Simpson in the backline – hibberd has me worried with possible role change
Dahlhous to Taranto in the forward – something just doesn't look right with the Hous

196. BVB21 says:

So Taranto scores well against western bulldogs and Collingwood and everyone is bringing him in.

My tip is that it will end in tears

• Holty says:

I might be taking the punt with him in replace of Menegola. He is spending time in the mids, with Scully injured should spend more time there. He tackles well and is a contested ball winner. May not be that top 10 forward but he cant be worse than Menegola right now.

• Russty_ says:

Collingwood weren't too bad last week, Taranto could end up a solid player, some guys improve into much better players..happens all the time.

197. Ash says:

Thoughts appreciated:

1. Crouch – Oliver or
2. Crouch – Coniglio and Naughton or Keefe – Simpson

Cheers.

198. Neverweaken says:

Westhoff or Taranto or neither?

199. Tim says:

Hi everyone, I need to decide on whether to trade Crouch for Oliver or Coniglio.

Current midfield: Dangerfield, Martin, T.Mitchell, J.Kelly, M.Crouch, Fyfe, Holman, T.Kelly

On one hand, Coniglio could re-injure himself or fizzle out but, on the other hand, Oliver isn't exactly a steadfast locked premium option and could have a down year.

• Swans2012 says:

Coniglio for me and bank the cash

• BVB21 says:

Damn that’s a good midfield!!!

• Locked and Loaded says:

Would love to see the rest of the team… plenty of cash spent there

• Sc_Wow says:

If you want to be competitive its pretty essential to have the 3 best players in the game. My mid has danger martin rich oliver fyfe and cogs, the great defensive rookies allowed this to be possible this year

• Defying_Madness says:

Get in Oliver, you will need him in your team eventually as he will be in the top bracket of midfielders

• Jess says:

Expecting coniglio to have a few down weeks of 70-80 odd. Also expecting oliver to have a second break out into dusty/danger/titch territory. Wish i had him

200. TOPHAWK1 says:

O'Shea ommitted
Hunter Clark ommitted
D'arcy Fogarty ommitted.
David Mirra namedon extended bench.
Braiden Ainsworth named on extended bench.
Jack Higgins named.
Nicholas Coffield named.
Ryan Garthwaite named on extended bench.

Plenty of new rooks coming through!

Dodged 3 bullets with those 3 ommitted. Dont own any of them. No trades this week. Happy days!

201. Soothsayer says:

Greene.

202. Ryan says:

Trade Crouch to Oliver?

Or

Trade H. Clark to O’ Connor and trade Crouch to Titchell?

• Ja191 says:

i'd be trading to titch/danger/dusty before you even think of anyone else

• Soothsayer says:

Either is a good move. Both get an ultra premium. O’Conner not proven though. May require an additional trade later. Option 1 is simple and good.

203. Soothsayer says:

You need Titch at some stage though

204. KingWinter7 says:

Crouch to Oliver or Cripps?
Already have the big 3

And is Bonner a must have to save me from loopholing Naughton and Murphy for D6 every week?
Would be trading either Naughton or Keefe to him

• Defying_Madness says:

Oliver out of the first two.

For Bonner I am in the exact situation with regards to loopholing Naughton and Keefe so I am making the trade. Will be moving on Naughton over Keefe as I have Sicily in the forward line and the DPP is valuable to my team. Will be using Keefe to loophole Murray and Murphy from now on instead. I wouldn't say making the trade is necessary though, there are risks for sure.

205. Parko82 says:

Considering trading Big sandii to Nic Nat, thoughts?

206. Thomas says:

With Greene, Giles-Langdon and Sicily out it seems I am copping a donut this week, anything i should do about it or just cop it?

• Jess says:

Swap sicily into defence via a trade such as naughton to christenson or fisher. Fisher is named on the ball – im taking the punt. His price rise alone is worth it for me. Cheers

207. Thomas says:

Fischer or christensen who's safer to make money? Or should I trade for the more expensive taranto?

• Jess says:

I've been stuggling with this, but have finally locked in fisher, who is currently named as a follower this week. Some big names have called him a future brownlow medallist. I cant see it yet, bit the signs are there for a breakout year. He could also score 40 for the next few weeks, but dam is he on the way to a nice price rise. Win win situation

• Borko says:

Same dilemma here, and I have Lobb in the mix as well! I actually think Taranto is a bigger risk as you need to almost pick him as a keeper due to his higher price, whereas Fisher could be a quick cash grab (hopefully about $150k) and then upgrade him to a genuine keeper in a few weeks. He should be able to hold down a F5 position in the meantime and provide a 70-80 average.

• FearTheBeard says:

Was going with same issue. Decided to run the same way.

208. LUKE says:

Call me Cupid. Geelong have named 3 new players. With T KELLY ON THE EXTENDED BENCH. Now only reason for this Tim Kelly might have a niggle from last week's game. Watch this space

• Russty_ says:

What niggle do you think he has Luke?…didn't see him get any injuries last week, can see him playing this week…seems like a bit of a false alarm.

• Tyruddanaut says:

Last week he was one or two players off a Brownlow vote! He's not going to get dropped

209. LUKE says:

Also Tiger's. This week. BRANDON ELLIS AND JACK GRAHAM dropped

• Russty_ says:

Jack Graham hasn't been dropped, neither has Ellis, they're named on an undecided bench.

210. GrodieBrundy says:

Hey Community, my team's below and I'd appreciate any feedback
Hurley, Laird, Saad,Doedee, Murray, Finlayson (Coffield, Murphy)
Dusty, Titch, Fyfe, Adams, Cripps, Coniglio, Kelly, Holman (Brayshaw, Brodie, Barry)
Gawn, Nait (Cameron)
Buddy, Dahlhaus, Lobb, Christensen, Fritsch, Ryan (Garlett, Giles-Langdon)

360k in the bank and 29 trades

Getting concerned with Adams and Dahlhaus.
1) Trade Adams to Gablett/someone else
2)Dahlhaus to Heeney
Thoughts?

• Russty_ says:

Hey Grodie, Adams doesn't seem to be doing much this year, maybe go Adams to Danger to strengthen your mids…and have a Perma-Captain. You could probably afford to wait another week on Dahl to see if he can turn things around..or Dahl to Heeney, if you could afford that?

• BrodieGrundy says:

Thanks Russ. I have enough cash to get both Danger and Heeney.
Thoughts on Ablett?

• Tyruddanaut says:

Adams has had a partial role change and you should trade him soon! I would trade him for a player like Macrae, who is fantastic at football and doesn't need his team to play well to reflect on his scoring. Other players like this are Dangerfield, Dusty, Titch, Selwood, Oliver and Gibbs.
Ablett is a bit of an injury risk. You shouldn't expect him to play 20 games this year if you bring him in and must also bring in an M9 to compensate.

I like the second trade

211. Is Don says:

My current SC team:

D – Yeo, Laird, Savage, Doedee, Murray, Finlayson (Naughton, Murphy)
M – Martin, Mitchell, Fyfe, Cripps, Coniglio, O'Meara, Kelly, Holman (Bradshaw, Banfield, Barry)
R – Gawn, Nic Nat (English)
F – Heeny, Billings, Smith, Petracca, Christensen, Fritsch (Garlett, G-Langdon)

2,340 average so far. 254k in the bank. I've already used 2 trades.

Thinking Naughton to Bonner and G-Langdon to Ryan. Leaves 163.5k.

Agreed, or should I hold off on the Naughton trade, with coffield and Cole playing first game this week?

PS, awesome community comments here. Just found this site and podcast today.

• Tyruddanaut says:

Calm down with your trades! you only have around 1 1/3 trades for each round and if you are trigger happy now, you might not have a complete team for the end of the season

212. Ahmad rubas says:

Hurley laird hibberd Bonner finlayson doedee (Murray emg Murphy)
Danger C Kelly Fyfe Cripps VC coniglio brayshaw Kelly Holman (Dow emg banfield Clark)
Gawn Goldstein (olango)
Heeney billings smith petracca Christensen Ryan (Fritsch emg Langdon)
30 trades 67k
problems: no dusty or titch underperforming hibberd, dow and Clark poor rookies
Ideal trade is downgrade hibberd and upgrade Clark to dusty but no worthy rookie to downgrade to.
Would the best move be trading Clark to Barry? I could also not use a trade if Dow performs really well Friday night

213. Stupid Coach says:

Evening Community. Trades I am considering this week are as follows:
1) McGrath to Bonner and Townsend to Tarranto/Christensen.
2) McGrath to Bonner and Merrett to Titch.
3) Townsend to Christensen and Naughton to Bonner
4) Naughton to L Murphy and Merett to titch.
5).Option 4 with Townsend to Christensen instead of Merret to Titch.
I am leaning towards Option 2 or 4 as I feel u really need to get titch into my team to have any chance of winning the cash league I am in but am aware that I will be trading out a premium who I may just waste another trade to bring him later down the track.

Any thoughts or advice much appreciated.

214. flex350 says:

Darcy Fogarty to Zac Fisher?

215. Gazza says:

Should I hold G-Langdon on bench or trade him to Billy Gowers

• Tyruddanaut says:

Not Gowers. Do you have all of English, Ryan, Fritsch and Garlett?

216. Fearthebeard says:

Worth trashing Fisher in for a cash grab over Brayshaw?

217. Tyruddanaut says:

I am really considering Cam Ellis-Yolmen

• Averaged 87, including a 97 last week against Richmond
• Has an easy line-up before R7 when I am to trade him for Lance Franklin. This line-up consists of St. Kilda, Collingwood, Sydney, Suns, Carlton
• Matt and Brad Crouch's injury means more midfield time for him

Thoughts?

• BVB21 says:

It’s no worse then all this Bonner, Fisher hype and if it pays off you this one is a real POD

218. Ja191 says:

In a bit of a pickle, Sicily and greene out which means I have to field garlett, fritsch and Ryan. Not knowing how long Greene is out, would it be worth trading him to someone like a heeney/mclean?

• FearTheBeard says:

If I had Kruez out for a second week he was gone. I'd say the same for Greene. Do we know what it is holding him out?

219. FearTheBeard says:

Can I please get a few opinions on Brayshaw – Fisher?

I know it's a bit of a side wards trade with Brayshaw having breakeven of -2. Though Fishers is -48 and with the fact that he is named as follower leads me to think he could quickly push 400k+. Earning far more then Brayshaw will. (Yes Brayshaw could have one big game and push his up) though it is also far more likely that Fisher will have a big game before Brayshaw off the bench?

I have no real trades to force so it's just a move to make some quick cash while potentially giving me better scoring for now?

Being stupid ? Some logic? Fisher worth the punt?

• BVB21 says:

Don’t do it.

If you can hold you should.

Save the trades. I wish I didn’t have to trade but I have crouch and ZGL our for 4 weeks and Lambert out.

• Baz says:

Brayshaw has started against two very good teams. I’d expect his scores to increase against weaker teams.

220. jvm says:

Hibberd to shaw and Fogarty to Gray

OR

Hibberd to Simpson and Fogarty to Taranto

221. flex350 says:

Darcy Fogarty going to struggle to get back in the team? I have cash so can trade him up to fisher / taranto.

222. CashCows says:

Hey Community,

Looking for some advice please..

Def: Laird, LRyan (Freo), Bonner, Finlayson, Dodo, Murray, Naughto, Coffield
Mid: Danger, Dusty, Titch, Fyfe, Parker, Shiel, Kelly,Holman, Brayshaw, Dow,Banfield
Ruck: Gawn, Sandiballs. King
Fwd: Buddy, Wingard, Walters, D.Smith, Fritsch, LRyan, ZGL, Garlett

Sooo..

Happy that coffield has come into the saints line up this week as I was considering moving him on, but i think i will hold.
My other problem comes from Dow to Coniglio.. if i move him in, it means i need to find 220k which could come from either Shiel, Sandi or Wingard, given they probably my least performing. that said they all are relatively proven performers with perhaps wingard my only doubt.. but given they are playing Lions this week he could pull it back, although i believe he sustained a slight injury during last weeks game?

Or should i just STFU and hold….more i think about the more i should. the only one i am concerned about is Dow..should I correct or hold?

Whats everyone doing with ZGL?

223. Locked and Loaded says:

So here’s the options… still stuck on this a tad

Crouch to Parker AND Naughton to Bonner OR
Crouch to Oliver and leave naughton as is

Advice much appreciated community

224. KKP says:

Would love to hear thoughts on trades I’m considering as I need to make up for lost ground already.

Mills to Simpson &

Zorko to Dusty

Appreciate any advice

225. Jabba07 says:

So I have no issues at the moment with my team, 31k in the bank. Ranked 3k.

My gun mids are Danger, Titch, Kelly, Fyfe. Cripps, Coniglio. Happy days, however to push for overall, should I be trading Kelly for Dusty given his + 50% ownership versus Kelly's 26%?

I'm aware this is usually a no go, however given price movements this is my last chance.

• Daniel Z says:

You picked Kelly because you thought he'd be a top 10 mid, right? Has your opinion on that changed?
If not, keep him. It sounds like you have FOMO but remember, you can't get them all (especially to start with).

226. Frank says:

Do I….

1. Trade out M.williams > R.Bonner
Or
2. Trade out J.Daniher> T.Tarranto

Can’t decide which way to go, with the spare cash I am trading M.Crouch> D.Martin

Would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

227. Dave says:

Hey community,
Have Rayner (about to lose $) & Langdon (4+ weeks injury) and i need to replace them.
Already have Ryan & Fritsch as FWD rooks. Any suggestions??? Looking at flicking Rayner for Gowers or Waterman for a few weeks cash,, and holding Langdon for a week or 2 to have a look at the next debutants coming through….

• Roger says:

Flick Rayner and with the cash you get from that look to ZGL to Higgins

228. Mike C says:

Ok is this just stupid mid price craziness…
Lambert and Rioli to Hogan and Acres, terrible trades?

229. Bells says:

It's that time of year again; giving up on my midpricer mistakes time !
I'm thinking of going Armitage to Ed Richards via Finnlayson.
Plus Lobb to Walters – I don't trust the knee and get Walters before he goes up more. Am I chasing points?
Appreciate a thumbs up if you like it, or tell me why if you don't.
