The Standing Room – Round Two Chat

Filed in Supercoach 2018 by on 31/03/2018 • views: 12033

Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in.

A half-dead, screaming and bleeding attempt at a game that has flashes of blue, white red and black. The North vs Saints game was supposed to be the highlight of a thoroughly uninspiring day – devoid of having anything open, not being allowed to eat meat… Good Friday had one thing going for it in a game of footy and it was pretty much ruined.

It was just the sort of thing a cat would drag in.

We had a few hiccups today with Matt Kreuzer and Toby Greene both late outs – how did you fare dodging those donuts?

(Shoutout to Lek for calling me while I was halfway up the Hume to get me to pull over and trade The Kreuz out – not all heroes wear capes.)

How are you tracking this round, community? Did you get the Dusty VC? What do you reckon Danger will score? Roll up, roll up, come one, come all and have a good old chinwag in The Standing Room.

  1. Patch says:

Special shoutout to Broomhead and Scully as well – poor buggers have broken various bits of their legs and that's never something you like seeing.

    • Russty_ says:

Hey Patch, yeah tragedy for those two poor buggers, can be a hell of a cruel game, good to have friends like that who give you the heads up!.
I'm travelling ok so far, no donuts, hopefully get over the line somewhere around last week's…2300 ish, but that could all go horribly wrong, have Danger as C

  2. Moosehead says:

That is why you trade only if you have too. It will be a long season with only 30 trades. Maybe one or two corrective trades this week. Be careful or else you will be out of trades by round 18.

  3. BrownlowBoy says:

    I love Clarry

  4. Bob says:

Went fisher as a POD and is paying of great so far!!

  5. Finnius says:

Imagine being the bloke who traded out Nat Fyfe and Zach Merrett this week…

    • Northernsoul74 says:

You’d be an idiot if you did.

      • Russty_ says:

Would you though Northernsoul, or would you just be a novice..with not much supercoach smarts? It's easy to attack people without a thought from their perspective.

        • Tyruddanaut says:

It depends. Last year in my ‘rookie year’ (technically) I traded out Hanners and it payed off big time. Only difference is that I did it in round 2

    • Russty_ says:

That's a bit cruel Finn, many would have because they're novices, and might've rage traded. I Don't think you're that kind of guy..that would rub it in.
You're only a youngun but you have a lot of smarts, don't get jaded too early my young friend, there's plenty of time for life to do that to you yet lol.

    • Rick Grimes says:

Merrett did stuff all in the end. Can't handle a tag. He might become Danger this week.

  6. Harry says:

What do people think of Hibberd…two mid-70 scores, would you consider trading him out?

    • Dogs says:

Only if he has an LTI

    • Whatyasmokin says:

If you have the luxury of a brilliant performing team other than him, then maybe. Otherwise hold, only round 2.

    • Patch says:

Haven't been able to watch either of Melbourne's games but unless he's changed role drastically I'd hold. Will turn it around. Lek and I will discuss him in the pod no doubt.

      • Tyruddanaut says:

What if you can get Dusty for him though

        • redherringfc says:

I still think it’s a waste of a trade. He was picked as a premium.

Last year he was very inconsistent but averaged just under 100. I haven’t watched either of Melbourne games, but looking at last years numbers he’s due a big one.

If he pops out a few more 70’s then he’ll be one of the first players I bring in.

    • redherringfc says:

Hope he can pop a few more duds out and really drop in price. Last years numbers say he will be close to a must.

  7. Donga says:

    Petracca? An ordinary game.
It was thought that this was going to be his breakout year but although we are only two games in, that familar pattern of a good game, ordinary game, who knows game, in other words he is a frustrating yo-yo player with so much talent.

    • Russty_ says:

Could go straight from him to Curnow or Taranto if you don't believe in Petracca.

      • Whitey says:

I'm always the first to say don't get excited in round 2 but Taranto looks brilliant. Very tempting, very…

        • Russty_ says:

Could also be one of those, posts 2 tons in a row guys Whitey, and then proceeds to spud it…time will tell I guess.

        • smart as s says:

Trade how u feel or follow the advice of more 'experienced players' or wat I call follow the sheep. Got taranto and acres last week #YOLO

      • Whatyasmokin says:

Devon Smith, Walters, Buddy or Heeney possibly? I wouldnt go for early season bolters but more likely/proven scorers.

    • Whatyasmokin says:

I said Hogan over Petracca! 145 woohoo. (Also said avoid Bonner and talked up McCartin……..haha win some lose some, corrective coming up)

Can breathe a little easier this week after Merret and Ryder last round. Things change quickly

      • Russty_ says:

Didn't avoid Bonner but hope you're not right about that!…I think Riley is a genuine young gun. McCartin is definitely not gun material yet though.

      • Tibor says:

I think there might be a bit of this from Petracca and Hogan , Smokin. Both moving into a high fwd midfield role but not at the same time as each other. Petracca was actually pretty good and his score was not that bad. Did the right thing taking his opponents well out of the way when Hogan and Garlett had things working well. There will be plenty of times for Petracca to be the main man. What he did do was pretty good score could have been better but a couple of howler free kicks against didn't help his cause. Currently a 90 average for a 430 k player reckon I might just stay patient on this one

    • Russty_ says:

85 ain't ordinary by any stretch Donga…next week could be 105, or 95 or 75, all of those aren't too bad over 3 weeks.

      • Whatyasmokin says:

True, petracca should score fairly consistently, my hogan risk could be 50,70,130 type scoring patterns.

    • Donga says:

Sorry forum. I was premature re my criticism of Petracca. Someone told me he scored in the 70’s but he scored mid 80’s so an ok game.
Unfortunately I don’t have SC gold this year.

    • Patch says:

His role doesn't help with his scoring – I see him as a Boomer Harvey style player for now, not enough mid time to explode.

What to do with him now you've got him? Hate to trade him and see him rack up two 130s but if he was your biggest problem you're doing pretty well.

    • PuntRoadRoar says:

Petracca 4 FA didn't help. Wouldn't expect him to give away that many frees every week.

      • Tibor says:

A couple of them were shocking howlers too. I get it that it is a tough game to umpire consistently but there is simply no consistency now. My new pet hate is where the controlling umpire makes the decision or non decision and the " look at me" style umpire runs in with the over rule from 50 metres away. Petracca copped the rough end of two of these on Saturday night.

  8. Julz says:

Rayner getting the arse next week!!!

  9. Derek says:

It’s like playing Rookie Roulette this year.

Pot luck, but they are making or breaking people’s scores.

  10. hedski says:

I'd hate to be an epileptic at Perth stadium after a game. That lighting is gonna cause mass fits.

    • Whatyasmokin says:

Bit over the top that lighting array I reckon lol

      • Rabbits16 says:

hahahah had a laugh at this. Survived a real circus last night on a date with the GF…. then got home cracked a beer to see the last quarter of another circus.

        • Tibor says:

Give them a break Rabs, they live in a very isolated city and march to their own beat a little. It looked like they were over excited having just cracked the technology of having electric lighting.

The gf didn't come in for a drink mate….. plenty of fish in the sea…

  11. Post_MaSloane says:

I've almost scored as much this week as I did last week, and I've still got 5 to play… Oh what a rollercoaster ride Supercoach is

  12. Jack says:

should i take fyfe's 120 as vc or go with danger as captain?

  13. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Oliver as capt Ryan played well. Greene out late hurt.

    • Finnius says:

Yeah I could have had a really good score if Green had put up a 100-120 for me.

Oliver will average 120 this year – I can't believe he only has 6% onwership! So glad I picked him.

      • Finnius says:

why are you in such a d1ck mood mate

      • Crocadoc says:

I picked Danger, Titch, Dusty, Kelly, Fyfe and Parker.
Which one of those don’t you have?
Simple. You can’t fit them all in.

      • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Thought we were going to see a different Gawn this year and with another year in the system for me Oliver was always going to be in my side. Greene l thought with a pretty soft draw early days might put up some big scores. Just needs to play!

    • SCdonkey says:

Nice one Shake, I said Oliver will have leather poisoning early in the week swallowing the pill from Martin and Gawn tap down. Kelly almost pulled it off 14 tackles but possies were low, would've gone big.

  14. Chief says:

I’m thinking going these trades next week….Hibberd & Crouch out & bring in Simpson & Oliver?

  15. Stirlsy says:

After opening up with a great 2439, the shyt started to hit the fan, as I traded Billings in and the Sainter's forgot to play footy the hard way and played a soft brand including Billings 79 but I knew he would be a rollercoaster ride.
Then today Greene's a late out covered by ZGL who put up a nice 65 but that hand scare before he had scored had some of that brown stainey stuff running down my leg, I could smell a bad round coming.
But then the SuperCoach GODS started to smile at my team once more with Cripps Finlayson,OLIVER,Fyfe, and Smith all toning up to join Laird and The Bird so far passing that mark.
14 Played 1326 pts 8 to play Danger with the C,,, Kelly,Titch, JOM, Sicily, Nic Nat, Heeney, and Bonner…. Projected 2295

    • Rabbits16 says:

lets hope danger is ready to play. i got him in this week for Adam Saad caase via finlayson swing…. so i presume im winning

  16. James says:

Thoights on trading in English for L.Ryan this week to play as f5-6 onfield alongside fritsch, or wait and see how he goes this week?

    • Rick Grimes says:

Maybe wait a week. He's certainly on the radar but like all rookies best to have a second look.

    • Wattswrong says:

Great question. Considering the same to cover the loss of Greene, will probably hit trade this morning

    • TheGreatBozza says:

I’d hold if you don’t have a donut. I brought in English this week as a cover for Krooz, so I’m hoping he goes well

    • Stirlsy says:

It's a risk to bring English in, The Dogs have talls in the wings and the coach isn't a ruck friendly type, he will play anyone there, When Roughhead returns English will be the tall going out IMO…..

    • L.Ryan says:

      Hope you didn't

  17. dontblushbaby says:

Put the C on Oliver was 135 at games end ,then rounded up to 146 ,saved me after not putting the VC on Dusty, big sigh of relief

  18. Tony says:

Mitchell, Parker or Franklin as C?? Thoughts guys

    • Frankston Phil says:

I'm in the same boat except I don't have Franklin. ATM I'm going titch but I'm a bit shaky.

    • TheGreatBozza says:

Line ball between Titch and Buddy. I’d lean to Buddy as a Hail Mary, hope for 160+

    • Stirlsy says:

Out of that lot it's Titch the safe bet, either of the other 2 could go off and go big ….its a risk reward with them or play safe on Titch.

      • Tibor says:

Good call very tempting to take the Budwar the top end could be anything

    • redherringfc says:

Go Buddy. It’s not head to head this week. If he knocks out a 200 you can brag, if he spuds it, who cares.

    • Rabbits16 says:

reckon mitchell safer bet. buddy do 2 in a row massive i dunno?! Please dont take my advice but id feel more comfortable with mitchell for sure

  19. Borko says:

Is Cognilio a must have? Not sure, has only played one full season for 100+ avg. I would need to make a few sacrifices to get him into my team (Thouy -> Bonner today then get him in next week). I suppose you can't get em all!

    • TheGreatBozza says:

He looks good. I was at Pies vs GWS yesterday and he’s so classy around the ground. I think he’s their 2nd best mid behind Kelly and could easily go 110+

    • Stirlsy says:

Always had a big opinion of Cogs but his not in my team and I don't see him as a must have, was perfectly priced but if you didn't start with him I wouldn't go chasing him now.

    • Rabbits16 says:

def get him in. make you money as well as pump out 100s.

  20. TheGreatBozza says:

Luke Ryan and Nank looking good this year. Wish I stuck to my gut instead of trading them out pre lockout.

Anyway I’m pretty happy with this round. Sitting on 1700 with English, McLean, Kelly, Sicily, Mitchell plus 160 from a Dusty loophole. Hopefully Krooz is back next week too

    • Jam says:

Agreed, had luke ryan but swapped him to hurley. Still if he is a top 6 by mid year we just have to pay more.

  21. Vinny says:

Was having a shocker with Garlett, crouch and and billing, Hibberd scores.
Somehow turned it around with great scores from Fyfe, Walters and Devon Smith.

Sitting on 1513 with Johannisen, Nic Nat, Parker, Heeney, Dangerfield (C) and Tim Kelly.

Looking okay at the moment. How is the rest of the community doing?

    • Holty says:

1308 with 8 to play. Ablett captain.

    • Dogs says:

1614 with 8 to play. Had dusty as VC. Still have danger, titch, Sicily, Lloyd, Heeney, bonner, Kelley and English to play

    • Derek says:

1722 with: Mills, Parker, TMitch, TKelly, Heeney and (gulp) Lycett to play

I can put Mills on bench and take Murphy’s 80.

I’ll be really happy with 2250

    • johnno2908 says:

1898/18 with Titch (c), Heeney, Sicily and Tim Kelly to play. Have the VC on Fyfe, I am tempted to take the 120 and be safe. Although Mitchell did go full beast mode last week. Can he back it up?

  22. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Going ok so far this year.
Only small problem i see is F6.
Rookies scoing about 60 (which is all i expect from a rook each week)
But could ramp that up as have the cash to go brayshaw up to tarranto or a rookie up to fisher.
Then plan is in about 6 weeks turn them into crouch in the mids once he drops down in price.

1600 so far with 6 to come capt still to play.

Once again loving the purple pods.

  23. SCdonkey says:

Please tell me, I made the right move. (Pls SCgods don't punish me)

Went early on bringing Danger in for Rocky, which i went against my plan. Just not confident on Rocky still being named at HF and that knee of his. Danger could go big, even if he doesn't he'll easily get a 100 minimum.

With Danger, Titch, Heeney, McLean, Kelly and English to play and score is sitting at 1727 hoping to get around the same score as last week 2200-2300

  24. JugHead says:

Who is the priority to get in before price increases……
    Cogs, McLean or Smith??

    • SCdonkey says:

All good picks for mine, i started with Smith and McLean, Cogs seems to be the better one out of the 3 so far. If my mid wasn't so pack with premos, would pick him up.

    • Browncow says:

McLean not due for an increase Jughead unless he goes big this afternoon. The other two both playing pretty good footy.

    • Holty says:

I have none of them but im backing my preseason selections to all score better then these 3 by seasons end. Id only bring these in if you feel they are keepers and you have serious doubts on some of your current selections.

    • Stirlsy says:

One of the 2 FWDS ….. Smith would be my pick.

    • Tibor says:

Scully out long term impact on Coniglio ??

  25. Mike says:

  26. Mike says:

1654 . With .Titch,Buddy,Heeny,J Mcgovern,T Kelly And either Waterman or L.Ryan from Westcoast still to go . Hopfuly get to 2200 . Then downgrade hibberd to bonner get the cash and get smith into my foward line which will give me 5 keepers in the fowards . That will leave me wth 28 trades . Ps smith could be sicily depending on monday

  27. TOPHAWK1 says:

    Hi community!

Touch wood, it has been a steady round so far without getting stung by Kruezer and Greene late outs. That said, Michael Hibberd is starting to become a headache down back. With guys like Shaw and Simpson tonning up consistently, I am bleeding a few points there, but thanks to Bonner, I can live with it. Lift HIBBO, I am not planning to trade you out, (For now) BUT LIFT!!

On the flipside, Zerret is coming good after that head knock disaster last week, and Allen Christensen is starting to get back to playing footy we know he is capable of. (101 SC) Finlayson and Doedee= GUNS. If you have neither, use your two trades this week to get them in. No ifs, no buts.

Sitting on 1534 (proj 2378) with Dangerfield (C), Mitchell, Parker, T Kelly, (on field) Bonner, and Heeney to play.

I am just going to grit my teeth and run with Dangerfield as captain. There is a risk he could play a lot up forward, he might be cautious and not going in too hard because that hammy is in the back of his head, or he could even be subbed out mid match if he feels any tightness in his hamstring. BUT this is Paddy Dangermouse we are talking about here. You deserve to be captain because you are top dog in the AFL. Do me proud son…..but I am a little nervous…..

Good luck for the rest of the round all.

    • Tyruddanaut says:

Don’t worry, Dangerfield has already shown he can kick 5 goals with a broken leg (and 6 behinds but that doesn’t matter)

      • TOPHAWK1 says:

Hehehehe. That's right, just a repeat of that effort last year is good enough for me!

    • Stirlsy says:

Yes the C is the big Key TopHawk, to a good score in the same boat with Danger lets hope its a great ship by the end of Mondays game.

    • hedski says:

Got stung by Kreuzer and Tobias outs but I have cover, Matty Crouch going down hurts tho.
Running with the captain on Danger too, should be a cracking game Monday Toppa, go cats.

  28. BadgerHoney7 says:

1652 from 15 players (C on Dusty) and only have one rookie left, he score 120 odd last week so Tim Kelly, provide again and I will be loving it.

  29. pod says:

Latest news amazing!! Bucks has just announced will be stepping down from senior coach position effective immediately!!!!!

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Will this be the same news tomorrow?

      • Mike says:

Blah blah bla . Wish i was 16 again post up shit

      • pod says:

Too good Trig although wouldn't be a real shock if he left the job.

        • Tibor says:

Might not be a joke in a months time.

They look terrible, they have injury issues, and he just ain't a great coach. No shame there plenty of star players fail as coaches.

I reckon Eddie is already working out how he moves on and everyone saves face.

Mick already rehearsing the ' I told ya so routine' with feigned humility

If they get rolled by Carlton next week the drums will be very noisy

          • Finnius says:

Give them some credit – they put up a really good fight yesterday. All his players need to improve their skills slightly and I see his game plan working – turnovers was what killed them yesterday.

            • Tibor says:

That's the problem. A feeble acceptance of an honourable loss. No doubt his players like him, respect him and. Play for him but they just don't win enough and there has been no real turn around and improvement in years. No good blaming injuries all the time, every club has them. Jamie Elliott is pretty good but not great and what did they honestly expect fitness wise from Daniel Wells.

Even in SuperCoach you wouldn't have Elliott because he's not that great and not even close friends and relatives pick Wells because they know he'll be out injured

        • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Pie would be doing cartwheels in the street.
Could be a crouching celebration on steroids.

    • Mr.Britgt says:

      Who’s the April Fool ,

  30. Mike says:

    Danger out .not playing

  31. Tibor says:

Any word on whether Toby the flog really has a hamstring injury that may impact next week or is late withdrawal with hamstring tightness just a euphemism for something bizarre he has done.

Maybe save answers till after midday

    • JugHead says:

I'm tipping he supplied Bancroft's sandpaper. Its the only sporting scandal at the moment, and it takes a special talent like Toby's to shoot yourself in the foot from the other side of the world.

    • neil demons delight says:

He was too busy writing flog Warner's speech

  32. FearTheBeard says:

Anyword on Kreuz and length out?

    • JugHead says:

Thats a good question, and its a worry for Kreuz owners. Groins can be awkward. One week can become 3.

      • Daniel says:

My biggest concern as well, especially because he's a big bloke.

As I've hit most of the rookies (I think), I can go Kreuz next week down to anyone but Gawn (leaning to Nank).

        • Daniel says:

The thing I'm tossing up on is whether or not to bring in English this week (I have Olango) to avoid the zero.
Problem is, if I do that, I won't have a captain's loophole any longer.

    • Tibor says:

I haven't got him because it occurred to me that he might be a massive injury risk given he gets injured pretty much every year except last year and the chance of a continued injury free run seemed a bit of a long shot for a 600 k plus player.

Not really I only say that because I know how popular it is to be clever with the benefit of hindsight.

Hope he plays this week but only because I want to see Collingwood get pumped but that won't happen if they can't compete with Grundy

  33. FearTheBeard says:

Cogs score likely to improve with Scully gone?

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

      And tarranto

      • FearTheBeard says:

hrmmm who do you take then lol

        • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Got cogs and giving serious consideration to going brayshaw to tarranto next week.

GWS gonna hurt some sides this year

          • FearTheBeard says:

yeh i got neither and ditching brayshaw this week. can afford either. who you reckon?

cogs more likely to continue those scores safer bet?

            • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Depends if you need coverage in the mids or fwd?

              Both got some serious talent

Cogs may well b an m8 all year.

              • JugHead says:

GWS selections give me headaches. Same as Sydney a few years back. You pick JPK, he stinks it up and Hannebury fires. You pick Hannebury, he stinks it up and Parker fires etc etc.

    • Tibor says:

Does it change what they're doing with Whitfield I've got him and he has had a good start

  34. Macca says:

1817 including captain with 6 to play .. 2400's realistic.

    • KSinny says:

Looking good, I'm 1860 including captain with 5 to go.. Looking for a 2300-2350.

  35. Jam says:

I have a spare 115k after upgrading coffield to bonner, next week. Downgraded kreuzer to nic nat this week… only player i am unsure about is taberner, he has scored well and shown potential in games to avg 90, good for a forward. Do i keep him or downgrade to a Christensen and pocket more cash? All rookies are playing and "premos"perfroming otherwise.

    • Johnno says:

Keep him, save the trade, you got taberner in to make you cash and average 90, trading him to Christensen is essentially burning 2 trades because you’ll have to trade Christensen at some point.

  36. Borko says:

Thouy to Bonner at D3? Will free up some cash to upgrade Rayner to a breakout contender next week, maybe Petracca at F5 plus get another rookie. Good move or hold and get another games info?

    • Finnius says:

      Who is thouy?

      • Borko says:

Zach Thouy from Geel .. the irish man. I picked him as a hopeful keeper but think Bonner can go close to his output. Will redeploy cash to FWD line to keep my overall structure

        • Finnius says:

          ohhhh touhy ahahahaha

I would be holding him as I think he can average 95 this year. Trades are valuable when we see how many premo injuries there are. Although scrapping Rayner isn't the worst option. I would wait till next week to do this if you are going to go through though – one more game sample size will be very important.

    • Derek says:

      Hold thouy.

Let’s see if Bonnar was just a flash in the pan

      • Borko says:

his six games are all pretty good … minimum of about 18 possessions I think at good DE … but I agree the sensible option is to hold!

      • Borko says:

Didn't trade in Bonner … watch him rack up 30 and 2 goals!

  37. neil demons delight says:

with the potential 1 .3 mill offer to Lynch and LEVER 1 m Hogan 1 mill ,,, I imagine gawnie's pist off big time He only got 850 grand.. Would think a trade to Collingwood for Weideman and Dean Kent should raise the dough particularly with the spoons THE Demon doorman to replace Bucks

    • Hellish says:

      All overpaid Neil

      • neil demons delight says:

Not the doorman he 's gonna look after the cup in sept BIG JOB that

        • Tibor says:

Easy does it Neil. I'm with ya brother but keep the bloody lid on it please

        • JohnDJ59 says:

We need to make the top 4 first.

        • hedski says:

          Who is the doorman Neil?

          • neil demons delight says:

I actually have met him and Sammy Allica for those with good memories and I really do believe he is a better coach than FIGJAM Going to be really something to see ablett danger and selwood not to mention TICH ONE HELLUVA GAME COMING UP

            • Russty_ says:

Yeah but who is the Doorman, and who is Figjam????

            • hedski says:

OK, that's just confused me more.
Yeah will be a cracking game tomorrow, go cattas

              • Russty_ says:

When did Neil start speaking in code?

                • neil demons delight says:

Russty Russty FIGJAM is what buckley was called in his playing years .. It stood for Fark I'M Good Just Asked Me. .. The doorman is a demon relic ( like me) who has been manning the door to keep the riff raff out after the game for half a century People like him and Sammy allica and bootstudders property stevards all more knowledgeable than FIGJAM when will Collingwood wake up

                  • Tibor says:

Beautiful Neil, Keeping the "riff raff" out. That is pure Melbourne. A bit more of that and we really will be on the path back to past glory

  38. James says:

    Who to captain?

    • Rabbits16 says:

if it was me id go Mitchell but i'm not giving you my home address haha

  39. Tibor says:

Not happy with Dean Kent and the doorman Neil??

    • neil demons delight says:

No mate the doorman is ok It worries me if Buckley can handle opening the doors though maybe Kent can do it

  40. Rabbits16 says:

cmon nic nat off to a slow start here

    • Defying_Madness says:

Kreuzer to Nic Nat not looking too good for me right now

      • Defying_Madness says:

At this point I am just pretty screwed because of this ruck situation.

    • SC_Sixty6 says:

Nic nat is a better inclusion than English. Next week you'll see with comparing kreuz score with nic nat.

  41. Mr!Btprightside says:

    Zak Jones out

  42. Finnius says:

Tim English on 0 points at quarter time…

  43. Sc_Wow says:

Pretty sure I told you English would spud it up. Well done to everyone that ignored me

    • TommyC99 says:

Bit of humility wouldn’t go astray….

      • Sc_Wow says:

You know what suck it up tommy, sick of whiners like you. Start listening to me and this stuff won’t happen

        • Borko says:

I jumped on board the Lobb train and that derailed yesterday … long way to go, but you can't get em all right!

    • Skinny McThin says:

You say a lot of stuff Sc_Wow most of it is incorrect or assumptive which is probably why you're ranked outside the top 20,000. Now and again you get it right with an obvious call and straight away you come here to tell everybody how much of a genius you are.

The 20,000 that are already hundreds of points in front of you include most of the people who comment here. So, pull your arrogant head in until your rank isn't such an embarrassment

      • Sc_Wow says:

Rival me and see where we end up. All my calls are backed up and I’d like to know which have been wrong

      • Sc_Wow says:

Don’t know where you’re pulling 20k from btw

      • SC_Sixty6 says:

It's a marathon sweet heart. No one wins in rd 1 or 2. Don't get your knickers in a knot.

      • Swans2012 says:

seriously rank means nothing until after round 5-6 imho, until then it's just the world sorting itself out

    • BVB21 says:

Almost brought him in for Liam Ryan today.

Thank god I didn’t do that lol

  44. Finnius says:

    Liam Ryan is a JET

  45. gator59 says:

Geez this young kid English is really good at football..

  46. Finnius says:

Update: English is on Zero at HALF TIME

    • hedski says:

I should have just taken a donut with Kreuz…

      • gator59 says:

Same here Hedski.. Waste of a trade

        • Defying_Madness says:

At least you didn't trade him to Nic Nat like me…

          • Tyruddanaut says:

After seeing English’s 0, I’m not regretting the trade even though I have had this planned for 2 weeks since Wnglish was named round 1

        • neil demons delight says:

          what about Longer Gat

    • redherringfc says:

Footywire says -1. hope he increases his output in the 2nd half and gets to -5 or even -10.

I felt like an idiot last week when I brought in Lycett to cover Kreuzer. Feel much better now.

  47. Rocksta says:

I know many have similar stories, but I reckon I’ve cost myself some 130 pounts this week by having the wring rookies on field ( Murray instead of Finlayson, Giles Landon instead of Ryan(73 at half time), Fritsch instead of waterman (55 at galf time)).
The bright side is they are all making money.

    • Great fact hunt says:

Don’t feel bad rocksta I left 260 on the bench last week had every wrong rookie on the ground. Doh

  48. Rocksta says:

    Try Again:
I know many have similar stories, but I reckon I’ve cost myself some 130 points this week by having the wrong rookies on field ( Murray instead of Finlayson, Giles Landon instead of Ryan(73 at half time), Fritsch instead of Waterman(55 at half time)).
The bright side is they are all making money and will appreciate in value quickly.

    • Tyruddanaut says:

Same here but to a lower extent.
Ryan is off field for Fritsch
      Banfield is off for Brayshaw
      Murphy is off for Finlayson

In hind sight would I change anything?

  49. Macca says:

Tim English zero at half time

    • Tyruddanaut says:

I was regretting not bringing him in and following my game plan for a Kreuzer late out. Nic Nat is only on 30 but probably will get scaled up due to his sheer impact

  50. Jack says:

Played Ryan last week, benched him this week. FMSC

  51. Defying_Madness says:

I don't think I will ever recover from my switch from Parker to Merret 5 mins before the bounce for the rest of the year.

  52. BlueBaggerJosh says:

Ryan over Garlett is gonna cost me 100pts at the rate he's going πŸ™

  53. Defying_Madness says:

Think I might go Lobb to Ryan and Naughton to Lloyd/ Simpson next week.

    Thoughts community?

    • Swans2012 says:

Yeah, fair call, although lobb may still come good……

      • BVB21 says:

        Giving him one more week

        • Defying_Madness says:

Then it will be too hard to move him on due to other players price changes. Trading him to Curnow is also something I have considered.

    • Russty_ says:

Bear in mind that Ryan scored 38 in round 1.

      • Defying_Madness says:

Yeah good point. The week the 38 rolls out should leave him making huge amounts of cash, however the possibility of him putting out another stinker is still there.
Will have to give this some thought.

    • Russty_ says:

Lobb to Christensen..if you don't think Lobb is worth keeping?

  54. DavidSA says:

My article on Rockliff is correct
But still had him 97-107. After round 1 and this first half against Sydney is not good though.

  55. JohnDJ59 says:

Not having Buddy in my team like the last two years,is killing me,should have just kept him there, instead of Billings.

    • Russty_ says:

Hey John, to be fair to Billings, he only averaged 5.6 less points than Buddy last year.
Both are a bit up and down though.

      • JohnDJ59 says:

Hi Russty, not really a slight on Billings, just me still being annoyed with myself for not sticking with Buddy.

        • Russty_ says:

I know mate, Billings will be ok, Richo won't stand for them playing that badly next week, I did the same with Heeney, traded him in last minute over Buddy, but Heeney's doing ok now.

  56. Holty says:

Had some cash spare so bought in gray as i had no faith in the forward rookies. Oops, nice having Ryan on the bench. 😣

  57. Jim_bob321 says:

Wtf is happening with Bont… sheesh

    • JohnDJ59 says:

      He's in the 100s

      • Jim_bob321 says:

Just scraped through and last week 60….

        • JohnDJ59 says:

Yes last week was really disappointing,to make it even worse,I traded him in for Oliver when Clarry had the injury scare.

    • Tibor says:

Sat through this game. An absolute Easter classic. The Bont getting 100 points for that garbage is a bigger miracle than Jesus making the Sunday come back after the Friday complications put him in such doubt

  58. JohnDJ59 says:

Might be trading out Mills for Bonner next week, make some cash in the process.

    • Rabbits16 says:

me too he is on 40points half time

    • Rabbits16 says:

      and maybe not :/

    • Derek says:

Mills again will be my first trade out. Dissapointig effort, zero midfield. Gotta go. Not sure if I go up to Simpson or down to Bonnar

      • Defying_Madness says:

I think I would prefer up to Simpson. Maybe even have a look at Ryan for a player at a similar price.

        • JohnDJ59 says:

Ryan was the player if I decided to upgrade instead of downgrading,I might not even be able to do that trade since I have Crouch and Naughton to deal with.

      • dontblushbaby says:

I have Mills also, I don't understand why he isn't getting any Mid time especially when they were getting beaten today ???

        • Dogs says:

He’s going to be the future general in the swans back line . They love him for they way he already directs traffic back there, don’t see him playing any major midfield time .

  59. Tyruddanaut says:

Next round Naughton is projected to go up 8k. Where’s the trade button amirite

    • Tyruddanaut says:

Bonner is going up 73 grand (as off half time) in comparison

  60. Jim_bob321 says:

Naughton to Bonner asap i guess

    • dontblushbaby says:

L.Murphy is another option for the ones that don't have him ,might generate more cash quicker ?

      • Tyruddanaut says:

Projected to generate 20k less cash in the first week*

*based on averages from this years two games

  61. DavidSA says:

Port would almost have to drop Rockliff when Hombsch and Pittard come back. He is adding nothing

    • dontblushbaby says:

Yep, don't have Rocky but thought about it earlier on, he's been on the bench most of the time and not listed as injured ??

      • DavidSA says:

He is not fit this year
Probably won't be match fit come round 4-5 but he should be doing better than this

  62. TOPHAWK1 says:

What a goal by Franklin!!! That was insane. Talk about a team lifter!!

  63. BlueBaggerJosh says:

Projected 2400 on the dot, spewing I fielded Ryan over Garlett but the small Fwds are so unpredictable

    • Russty_ says:

Why are you spewing about that?

      • BlueBaggerJosh says:

Other way round lol, didn't notice

      • BlueBaggerJosh says:

        How are you tracking Russty?

        • Russty_ says:

Oh ok,haha sorry, 'prediction' says over 2400, but I think I'tll end up being 40 short of that, heeney and bonner haven't met their quotas lol

          • BlueBaggerJosh says:

Both with very good scores considering their respective price tags, I have Heeney like most. really thinking of going Naughton to Bonner but would have to trade a hibberd down to someone like Shaw, considering I have 28 trades I don't think it's worth it. What do you think?

            • BVB21 says:

              Good scores boys.

Would not trade hibberd if I was you especially to Shaw.

Also don’t think Bonner is as good a trade as everyone thinks.

              Might be proved wrong

              • Russty_ says:

You could be right about Bonner BV, could be a 76 every week…just have to wait and see as he's my D3

    • Russty_ says:

Nicnat did ok today for you Josh, I think it's a good trade, will get better over the coming weeks if he stays healthy.

      • BlueBaggerJosh says:

Definitely, scores around the 110 and 90 mark are brilliant considering his TOG, can only get better. Hoping Kreuzer can go well for my Blues, will need him up against Grundy but groins are tricky business

  64. SCdonkey says:

I'm now confident to do these following trades this week,

    Naughton to Bonner
    Cox to NicNat

Liking how my team is travelling, first time in 7 years to have two decent score in the 1st two rounds.

    • FearTheBeard says:

Confident on Nic Nat? Didn't he get like 80?

      • Josh says:

Off less than 70 minutes game time, his scores will increase as his TOG goes up

      • SCdonkey says:

At less than 60% TOG, and a decent 80 points. He's moving well, with TOG is surely gonna increase and so does the points.

    • TOPHAWK1 says:

      Hi Doncs.

I dont mind those trade options. As long as you have Finlayson, Doedee, and Holman as your cash generation engine.

Lycett is playing the dual ruck role with Nic Nat at the moment. Lycett had a good game today, and Nic Nat started very slowly but came home hard with his 85 SC. I doubt Lycett will be dropped and will ruck alongside Nic Nat unless either one gets injured. Keep that in mind.

      Cheers mate.

      • Derek says:

Not hearing too many people talking about how crap Lycett was today.

        • Russty_ says:

87 is very serviceable Derek. Lots of knee jerk reactions on here week to week.

        • TOPHAWK1 says:

Agreed. He played very well. I remember you also looking to start with Lycett. Did you start with him?

I seriously entertained starting Lycett, but ended up going Nankervis and cough up the extra 200K cash.

At 277K, I reckon he is a bargain for any coach who needs to corrective trade this week.

          Cheers Derek

          • Derek says:

Started Lycett. Took plenty of crap over it last week

            • Russty_ says:

Don't worry about the opinions Derek, you ended up in the top 1000 after week one, let all the naysayers suck the big one.

            • Patch says:

Plenty of mud being slung round preseason around sides. Good to see you stuck to your guns mate. Hoping Lycett goes well until the byes for you!

        • SCdonkey says:

Always happen mate when someone has a left field pick and has bad score. People will jump on your throat and give you crap.

      • SCdonkey says:

I'm not concern with Lycett and NicNat playing together. NicNat was not affected when Dean Cox was still around, Nat will score points at other areas, his marking, tackling, goals and hitouts the man is a beast.

    • Derek says:

Can you go Cox to Bonnar

Do you have Garlett in Midfield? Swing Garlett to forwards and finlsyson to mids

      • SCdonkey says:

        I have all Rookies that's a must,

        Doedee, Murphy, Finlayson, Holman, Kelly

        Other Rooks are
Garlett, English, Langdon and Naugton who i was to trade for Bonner for quick cash and stepping stone to either Simmo or Hurley.

I wanna keep O'Connor and Mihocek as my loophole and swing between back and mid.

        • BVB21 says:

          Bonner is good trade.

I don’t think it’s a must trade as people seem to think.

Nic Nat is a risk obviously.

Has a lot of potential but can’t really see him being top 3 rucks this season

          • SCdonkey says:

Not a must trade agree, atm I'm running 4 rooks on field down back. Bonner seems to me a perfect player that has JS and will score 60+ each week until i have enough cash to turn him into a premo.

            • Russty_ says:

No offence donk but you were defending the Cox choice quite vehemently last week, he's coming back in next week, don't you think he's a good pick anymore?

              • SCdonkey says:

I have no use for him anymore, as I have traded out Ryder and English became my cover this week.

I wasn't defending him, i was explaining of why i picked him.

        • SCdonkey says:

Oh forgot to put in Ryan(WCE) and Bandfield(Freo)

    • SCdonkey says:

This is what my team will look like after the trades and will set back for a while, watch my rookies fatten up.

Laird, Hibbo, Bonner, Doedee, Finlayson, Murray
      Mihocek, Murphy

      Danger, Titch, Oliver, Kelly,
      Fyfe, Cripps, Kelly, Holman
      O'Connor, Banfield, Garlett

      Gawn, NicNat

Heeney, McLean, Smith, Taylor, Curnow, Fristch
      Langdon, Ryan

Happy of how it's shaping up.

      • BVB21 says:

We have a very similar team.

        Like the use of dpp.

        Very strong team.

Consider Lachlan Fogarty if he plays well today.

Guy is a ball magnet. JS only concern

    • Jay says:

What's with all the fuss surrounding Bonner?
$257,300 & only scored 76. Not much cash generation & certainly no keeper. Gotta admit, I didn't watch the game though.

      • SCdonkey says:

Not sure about the other people of why and the reason they want to bring Bonner in. But he fits right in my structure, Naughton is gonna be making slow cash and JS is getting slim. Bonner has a better JS, i think he'll give you 60+ points each week and is likely to make more cash than Naughton.

While other rookies generating cash and Bonner getting points and making cash at the same time. By Round 5 or 6 he's ready to be move on to a premo.

No fuss from me, just a strategy for my team.

  65. Dean says:

Corrective trades next week for mine are – Hibberd OUT – Shaw IN

Depending what Menengola does tomorrow but if he plays ordinary he will end up being Robbie Gray or Boak but Gey played well today.

  66. Josh says:

Why am I looking at Parker on 105 and heeney on 110 when Parker has 10percent more efficient had five extra touches an extra tackle and 8 extra clearances???

    • Holty says:

U have both i guess? If so look at it as a glass half full instead of a glass half empty. Instead of looking at Parker being ripped off, maybe you should look at Heeney being lucky to have scored what he did. I know thats how im looking at it.

    • Russty_ says:

Yeah it's hard to explain, Parker seems to have better stats than Heeney in most departments, maybe it's got something to do with that mythical..'Important time in the game' thing that Champion Data do, that none of us now what it really means.

  67. Dean says:

What scores are you all looking at this week and who was or is your captain. I'm on 2030 with Menengola, Titch & T Kelly to play.
    Dusty my Captain.

I am projected to score 2379 however I doubt it as the projections have T Kelly scoring 118

Let us know. Good luck to all.

    • Russty_ says:

Hey Dean, sitting on 1821 with Danger (C), Mitchell, Sicily and Kelly to play, hoping that goes ok.

      • Patch says:

1738 with the same four to come. Titch with the orange C however. Hoping for 500 from them at the least.

    • Stirlsy says:

1597 With 5 to play Danger with the C ….Titch, Sicily, JOM and Kelly are the 5 ….2260 projected and ill take that now if it was offered to me.

    • Dogs says:

1904 with danger, titch, Sicily and jelly to play. Projected for 2360, that’s probly still a bit high

    • KSinny says:

2019 with Sicily, Titch and Kelly to go.

      • dontblushbaby says:

2362 with Titch & Kelly , will be happy with 2330 though

        • dontblushbaby says:

          Soz, Projected 2362

        • Derek says:

I have same 2 left. Only 2306 projection.

          • Dean says:

            Thanks guys.

It seems as though the average this week will be quite high after your feedback, im guessing the average this week will be between 2350 to 2450

            Good luck to you ALL.

    • Holty says:

1620 with 5 to play and captain. Projected 2284 but will be happy with 2220

    • CheekyNandos7 says:

On 1786 with Danger, Titch, Telly and Sicily to come. VC on Billings so captained Fyfe neither worked out overly well obviously. Coming off a half decent score last week, 2346 playing 5 mid rookies (benched Danger) and have a projected 2242 but reckon I'll get 2150 (hope I get that anyway lol). Need to try and fix the Clark, Brayshaw, Naughton and Hibberd selections

    • johnno2908 says:

2008/19. Mitchell (c), Sicily, Kelly to come.

Lots of rookie points in the bench again.

  68. Petrus says:

    Danger or Titch for cap???

    • Dean says:

Because we haven't seen Danger play this season and with Gazza back in the side I would choose Titch mate only because there is a decent chance Danger & Gazza will spend time in the forward line.

Its a tough call and I dont want to miss lead you just in case Danger ends up scoring a 150+ because if Danger doesn't play in the forward line at all then he should score you 130+ with ease.
My only reason for recomending Titch is because you know he will be playing right in the guts which generally is where a lot of the SC points add up.
Prime example is Buddy today he spent his time just in the forward line and kicked 4 goals yet only scored 87 points, last week he moved up the ground also, although he did kick the 8 goals last week which obviously helped a huge amount.

Its a tough call and just follow your gut mate.

Depends on if you lean towards safety, or you're a gambler, either way, make the call yourself, it's your team, trust your own decisions, and not other people's.

  69. AuroraBorealis?! says:

Ok community, who wins from here?
    Team 1:
1671 with Titch (c), Sicily, Dangerfield, Kelly still to play.
    Team 2:
1838 with Duncan, Sicily, Dangerfield, Kelly still to play.

    • Finnius says:

Its gonna be tight but team 2 I think

      • AuroraBorealis?! says:

Yeah i think it'll be team 2 too. I'm hoping titch goes huge, its pretty much my only option.

    • Jack says:

Basically Titch has to out score Duncan by 84 points, right? Titch might have to break his own record to win that one

      • AuroraBorealis?! says:

Unless i've screwed up the math, if duncan scores 95 and titch scores 131 we tie. So Titch has to outscore Duncan by 37 points or more in order for me to win. It'll be a tight one, just have to hope duncan gets pushed out of the midfield with the inclusion of Danger, Ablett and Selwood and that Titch goes big.

    • Noirlust says:

      Duncan out

      • AuroraBorealis?! says:

Wow, that is incredibly unlucky for him. I almost feel bad but it is a cash league so i've gotta take wins where i can get them. His emergency is LDU who scored 77. So if titch scores 114 or more i win, im sure he can do that.

  70. dontblushbaby says:

My first thought of trades this week are :

    Naughton – L.Murphy
Mills – K.Simpson, with some thought of H.Shaw

    • TommyC99 says:

I’m thinking along the lines of the same thing mate. Although I don’t have bonner sonkight need to make him a priority

      • dontblushbaby says:

Don't have Bonner, we can't have them all, I look at who will be keepers, Bonner won't be a keeper imo

  71. Patch says:

There's still one more game? But I wanna Rage trade NOWWWWWWW

  72. Macca says:

2222 with Kelly to come. Wingard score didn't help.

  73. BVB21 says:

    Scored 2426 last week.

2008 this week with Titch, Sicily and Kelly to go. Need some luck to get to 2300.

Lobb, Crouch, Lambert and Billings hurts me this week.

Billings and Lobb both played well last week so can accept an off day.

Crouch has to go and also Lambert time has run out.

    Thinking Oliver and Heeney.

Could go Coniglio and bank the cash which would help me get Dangerfield in once all my rookies start making money.

Have Sicily as well so can swing him into forward line and get Simpson, Hurn (don’t laugh he only just missed out for savage, I run an algorithm for fantasy sports before I choose my teams. Then I do stupid stuff like pick lobb)

    Anybody got any suggestions?

    • Finnius says:

Like Oliver and Heeney as picks.

    • Russty_ says:

Yeah Coniglio or Taranto if you want to save some serious cash. Forget about Hurn I think.

    • Tyruddanaut says:

Hurn is a fabulous cheeky pick and I would get him in if I got a chance

Only do one luxury trade. Lambert or Crouch?
Lambert might get midfield time, has forward eligibility and costs 470k
Crouch is a pure midfielder, Gibbs taking the ball away, costs 600k

    • Blueth says:

      Here's my algorithm
      Hurn + old = burnman

      • BVB21 says:

He is only 30 years old.

Missed one game in last three years

Averaged 107 in last 9 games of last year.

Improved scoring by at least 10% last two years.

Ball will be in west coast backline a lot

Thanks for the feedback though guys.

        Won’t go Taranto. Too risky.

        Curnow is an interesting choice.

Finished last year off very strong

  74. Russty_ says:

Wonder how soon Cricket Australia will be rushing back the disgraced Steve Smith and Warner, Bancroft after the way this Test match is going.?..The replacements didn't exactly deliver…will they stick to their guns or get sick of losing badly pretty soon?…I know this isn't Footy but don't bag me for it, we're all Sports minded people.

    • gator59 says:

Well said Russty..Not sure about Warner and Bancroft but I can see them getting back Smith

The door is now ajar for Darcy Short and Matt Renshaw……..Short can be another Warner for sure

We have Travis Head and Alex Carey there also and I think they will be good combatants for us

      • Russty_ says:

Renshaw didn't exactly succeed, they need someone in there who can score some runs.

        • Finnius says:

One innings is a bit rough to judge off – I actually think that he fought pretty hard. Has been pretty good in the shield this year as well. Give him a few matches to get settled and I think he is a good pick.

          • Russty_ says:

You're probably right Finn, sorry about my comments last night by the way, I apologised to you earlier in your English quarter time report but maybe you didn't see it, I was out of line and am sorry about that.
Renshaw is a good player and was probably jetlagged and in shock.

    • Holty says:

Its pretty simple. Cricket Australia stuffed up. I would not be at all surprised if the players sue Cricket Australia and would probably win based on the penalty they gave as they simply made it up. They were so worried about what the world thought they felt they needed to give the penalties. I understand the ICC stepping in and giving a penalty if they were not happy with what Cricket Australia gave. But to come in over the top of what penalty the ICC give astounds me.

      • Russty_ says:

Yeah tend to agree Holty, penalty was way higher than what most other players had received in the past for the same kind of Ball Tampering.

    • Goaled Finger says:

Both openers were jetlagged, then had to spend 130+ overs in the field before batting. The rest of the team have just endured one of the most emotionally draining weeks of their lives. I'm actually amazed they're performing as well as they are.

    • Skinny McThin says:

I'm sure that Cricket Australia can teach the new guys how to use sandpaper Russty. The real problem is finding Australian sportsmen who understand that the rules are rules not guidlines

  75. CrippBoy says:

I have a few issues with my team.

    1. Matt Crouch – I think he has to be traded. I’ve got cash so could put him rob Danger pending his performance.
    2. Kane Lambert – spudding it up. I’m worried about him, he’s not really a premo. Trade him?
    3. Matty Kreuzer – I want to hold. Have English on the bench. Hopefully Kreuz comes back ASAP.
    4. Michael Hibberd – spudding it up. Willing to hold as he’s a premo. Wouldn’t mind getting in Laird though.
    5. Andrew Brayshaw – willing to hold. Shouldn’t have started him.
    6. Aaron Naughton – not going to make much coin. Think I could turn him into Laird if I trade Crouch to Coniglio.

What should I do!!!!?!?! I’m so lost.

    • Russty_ says:

I'd go Crouch to Danger and Lambert to Taranto or Curnow, and hope Kreuz plays next week, the others can stay as they are, many guys have em…just let em fester on the bench for awhile. They could start scoring points and making money.
Hibberd will be ok, he's a premium, will bounce back,

    • Tyruddanaut says:

      I would have first priority as 6 & 1

Dangerfield is a must have and a POD at that! He will score a bare minimum average of 120 and is likely to be the top scoring premium

Naughton is projected to rise in price 8k. Fantastic 5% ROI!! But actually make sure you have as many of you can of:
      Bonner, Doedee, Finlayson, Murray, Murphy
      TK, Holman
English (Your choice of him or Olango)
      Fritsch, Ryan

    • CrippBoy says:

      Thanks fellas.

What I could do is trade Naughton to Bonner and Lambert to Curnow or Taranto this week. Bonners the only rookie I don’t have.

Then trade Crouch to Danger next week. Added benefit of seeing how Danger goes for the two weeks. Any potisitional changes/how his body holds up.

      • Jack says:

I'd trade out Crouch before I traded out Naughton even if it means getting creative and putting a D/M into the midfield until you get Danger (Finlayson maybe)
Naughton might be projected to only rise 8k, but that 30 will only last 1 price hike. He will still make 100k, all it takes is 1-2 good weeks which he will have at some stage.

    • Derek says:

How much cash do you have?

    • Jack says:

Brayshaw is not a big problem. If he was priced 123k you would be happy, and you wouldn't be trading him out for 200k like he is now. He will get to 350k

    • Derek says:

Wait on Crouch. He didn’t look in too much pain. He is a gun and you would hate to trade him out.

Lambert is going ok. Just not getting the scores. He is running hard and doing a lot of work. It will come. Be patient.

Kruzer must have been close to playing this week. Hold and wait for news.

Hold Hibbo. Should be a top 8 defender. Don’t chace points.

Brayshae looks a good player. You have him now, keep him for some cash gain. You just need one big game out of him in the next few weeks. He looks likely to improve a lot.

Naughtons JS good. Same as Brayshaw, looks good and you just need one big game from him. He looked better today and will improve.

The idea now is to Mae some cash, hold your premiums, build a war chest and pick up the fallen premiums. Don’t pay full price for Laird and Dangerfield, get Zorko and Merretts cheaper.

    • Dean says:

Hibberd isn't a top 10 defender if he continues to keep this up. I have Laird but I'm getting rid of Hibberd and bringing in Shaw.

I really think you should Pi$$ Hibberd off ASAP and bring in Laird or at least Shaw as you will end up 30 points better from this and if you choose Shaw the cash generation can then go Crouch to Danger should you wish to do that, I wouldn't be rushing on Danger because I can see both Gazza & Danger roatating into the forward line and if he does his price will drop so pick him up later.

    • paul says:

Looking at 2,500 this week but have Lambert too .I really like Zac Fisher at 263 this will give me 658 cash left to bring in Danger when he drops after round four. What i need to look at tho is would i be better off bringing in two premo"s and wait on danger mmmmm .Lambert is the only one who will drop in price tho.

      • Derek says:

no caddy next week will help Lambert

        • paul says:

Yes Lambert break even is 116 not impossible would be happy with 100.I said too myself at the start not to trade out good players too early as it always happens to me they come good after a few games.Lambert is one that may just do that.but to get rid of him pocket the cash and bring in a kid who may average 90 is a better key strategy i feel.

  76. Jockwin Phoenix says:

Pretty happy with rookies this year. ( bench scores better than on field guns)….picked most of them but missed bonner. Thank christ i have laird..cos hibberd and my pod Rampe ( 160 odd in a jlt game) are really stinking up my back line. Anyone else have Rampe??

    • Russty_ says:

Doubt it Jockwin, JLT should be ignored when it comes to picking your starting team, maybe go Rampe straight to Ryan from Fremantle? Could be a good keeper this year.

      • Jockwin Phoenix says:

Yeah..cheers rusty..ryan looks the goods, and a better bloke than sicily..currently have laird, hibbo, rampe, seedsman ( doing okay) and 4 rookies. Should have stuck with 3 guns/ bonner/ 4 rooks rather than mid price madness. Oh well..have dodged injury thus far. Gonna be a tough season. Danger missing that first game mixed it up.

        • Russty_ says:

I was contemplating Seedsman seriously preseason, even wrote an article on him on a different website, now folded unfortunately, he's done pretty well so far, hope he can keep up the good scores for you !
Consider Rampe to Bonner also…could be a good one this year.

          • Jockwin Phoenix says:

Yeah..good advice…rampe to bonner..pocket the cash and upgrade a mid ( bound to get an injury soon) to danger if he starts smashing it..Everone has the juicy cash cows this year, the winner this year will upgrade them correctly. Gonna be interesting in 6 weeks..

  77. allen says:

with the late news of Kreuzer not playing, I traded Darcy Cameron to Timmy English for cover, wish I had not have wasted that trade, watched him play, looked ordinary.. wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play another game this year with Boyd and redpath off the top of my head 2 talls that will slot in..
dogs looked ordinary today which makes me sceptical with the Bont, but I think the dogs will find a gear :/

    • Daniel says:

I was in a similar position but decided not to trade him out after someone mentioned all the Dogs' talls still to come back. Plus they looked laconic in round 1 and didn't seem to have realized the season started this week either…

    • TheGreatBozza says:

I offloaded Cox to English to cover Krooz. Probably would’ve been better off with a donut. Only plus side is it opened up $170k in salary to fix up next week

  78. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

So rookie week this week b4 price rise.

    Potential ones i dont have:

Barry, ryan and potentially fogarty if goes ok 2mrw.

Any of those 3 worth bringing in?
Ryan tonned up this week and looked quite good but no real pressure coming from upstream.

Think im just gonna sit naughton on the bench in def as no one else screaming pick me. Have bonner, doodee, finlaysen, murray and murphy.

    • Dean says:

Good idea u have defence covered regarding rookies. Here's a tip stay well away from high priced rookies.
My only high priced rookie is Naughton.

Depending what rookies you have in your forward line but I think you should get Ryan in your FWD because his average is 76.5 after todays 115 that score is going to see him increase quite a lot for a cheap rookie.
I would also consider Barry if you have a high priced rookie that is underperforming as his average is above the 50 – currently at 53 after two (2) games. It all comes down to who you have in your forward line.
Cash generation is important every year however this year even more so, so you want to make sure you have the best cash cows you can get.

  79. Tyruddanaut says:

Does anyone know the Supercoach price change determinants?
    Atm I’m just using:

Where ‘a’ is the original price of the player
‘B’ is the average of the past three games
‘C’ is the “magic number”, which I’m using 5500

    • Finnius says:

If you have SC gold you can see projected price changes – I have no idea about an algorithm though.

      • Tyruddanaut says:

That only works for rookies. Some players can be projected to score 50 difference from their average

      • Hoppy says:

Finnius. Is SC gold, SC stats this year? And is it a one off $20 annual fee.

    • Lazza says:

      The magic number is 5497..

    • frank says:

      I go with ((3 week average x 5) – current price))÷4.
Gives a close enough approx price rise/drop and you can work it quickly in your head.
Eg merrett scores 120 round 3 for 3 wk ave @77
      ×5 =385
      -600 = -215
      He'll drop about 54k
      Scores 120 week 4.
      3wk ave 112
      x 5 = 560
      – 546 = 14
      He'll rise again about 3-4 k

      • Tyruddanaut says:

That works, except I think it’s /5 instead of /4. Makes it easier to calculate too

  80. Benj says:

Oliver or Dusty? Who will average higher?

    • Lazza says:

You need both ., so work out a plan to get them.. doesn’t matter which one you take first at this time in the season.

    • therealsharkmove says:

      Dusty easy higher

  81. Jeff says:

    Is Hibberd finished for 2018?

    • Lazza says:

Maybe a 1 year wonder .. did nothing before last year .. has done little this year and playing a different role .. i’m looking at his projections vs others .. if I can find ia ~$150k swing I’m trading …

      • Jeff says:

I'm going Simpson – age doesn't look like holding him back – and Docherty out all season an extra plus for him πŸ‘

      • therealsharkmove says:

Done nothing? He averaged 95~ a couple of times, no? Can't really count his last year before suspension as a guide as most Essendon players had terrible years then, so basically he had 2 write off years during his peak age and then backed it up with last year. He CAN play

  82. Joey says:

    Bloody Rockcliff 🀦🏼‍♂️

    • Theoriginalforce says:

I have rocky. If everyone else trades him out. He goes huge right? Right…

  83. Demons 5th 4 2018 says:

Cant be too long before J.Lewis is dropped – an absolute coaching failure having him in defense. Undisciplined giving away free kicks for goals and the complete opposite of what you want from a loose man in defense.
    Is he quick – NO
    Is he disciplined – NO
Penetrating kick out of defense – NO
    Calm under pressure – NO
Spoiling every contest that is nearby – NO
A team needs a classy sweeper or a spoiling machine not a slow past his prime midfielder down there.
If Lewis can no longer cut it in the midfield and giving him more rest on the bench he is of no use to us.

    • therealsharkmove says:

Good call Demons. How about bringing in a key position player (for.Lewis) to play on the 2nd tall, that way you could play Lever in that loose man role and he will look like a 1mill player again.

  84. Demons 5th 4 2018 says:

People complaining about Petracca – expect 90's, if you are banking on 100+ you will be disappointed.

    • BVB21 says:

He is averaging 90. That’s pretty good for him.

      • Daniel says:

It's also pretty much in line with what I was expecting from him. For what it's worth, an average of 90 would have been the 15th ranked forward last year (including a few guys that only played 16-18 games for the year).

  85. Pauly Walnuts says:

Not sure where to go ,want to trade out Naughton as imo he will be a slow burner ,who out of Bonner or L.Murphy is going to generate the most cash over the next 4 weeks ? please help

    • INPieman says:

Because L Murphy is 102k he should generate more assuming he holds his spot. An 80 for a 102 player means a big spike

    • Daniel says:

In 4 weeks? My first thought is it would be Murphy but after running the numbers, maybe not.

Bonner (at current average of 97) – would be around $390k after round 6 (nets you around $130k).
Murphy (at current average of 56) – would be around $212k after round 6 (nets you around $110k).

I think Bonner will be hard-pressed to maintain a 97 average, more realistic would be in the 85 range (which is still great value and good to have those points on the board but will only net you $100k at the end of round 6). If Murphy continues to get games, I can see him easily pushing his average to 65 (net of $130k). The other thing to keep in mind is that if Murphy puts up a high score (above 80, even once), it pushes his cash generation a lot higher.

  86. neil demons delight says:

Not really confident with 4 forward rookies just yet But who to get in .Must be an almost keeper otherwise trades becomes an issue.Heeney Hogan Petracca are the probables leaning to Hogan with no confidence

    • redherringfc says:

Has to be Heeney doesn’t it? 105 and 110.

    • JugHead says:

Similar situation here. I already have Heeney. Going after Smith first. Looks a keeper to me.

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Maybe go for the non demon NDD.
Heeney started fwd yesterday and hardly touched the pill in the first qtr.
Went into mids after that and started to get his hands dirty.
Thought long and hard about starting either petracca or hogan. Both will score well this year with gawny back.
Gonna have no rooks on field up fwd next week unless you call christo a rook.

      • neil demons delight says:

R 14 bye is a huge problem otherwise Heeney is a no brainer trig

    • Tibor says:

Heeny is the genuine premo currently and that is reflected in his price. I thought Petracca was good against Brisbane Neil. He did the right thing and took his opponent out of the way when Garlett and Hogan had a good thing going. He had four free kicks against which is unusual two of which were very unlucky. Didn't hit the scoreboard which is also unusual for him and score was still ok without being great. His opportunities will come. Hogan is the really interesting one, so cheap in sc. 145 for a 5 goal 1 behind 1 out of bounds game. He is going to have days a fair bit better than this. If he stays fit and gets continuity of games we might finally see what all the hype is about. I'm running them both and expecting 200 combined scores from Petracca and Hogan, I don't care how those points are divided I like the set up and reckon it works.

  87. gator59 says:

You gotta go tracca neil.. c'mon you know you want to

    • neil demons delight says:

You know what Gat I think right but is he a keeper smith might be though

  88. TommyC99 says:

Thoughts on Mills to Luke Ryan?

    • gator59 says:

Yeah I like it Tommy… Ryan looks right at home in freos defence with Wilson .. They seem to work off each other well

      • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Gator/pie did u guys start him
I was big on him all preseason.
        Part of the 2%.
How much u reckon that is gonna increase this week?

        • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

I have him to Trigg l know how much Freo like to free him up and get the pill in his hands. Likes to kick the thing thing to. Hope he continues his form.

    • INPieman says:

      Like it Tommy

  89. scrotum says:

hey trippers, tell me im not mad , zerret – another knock away from a rest doesnt like the hard tag, zorko same as previous only prem that can give you a 20 or thirty without being injured, now gonna drop in price prob 60-70 each , i have 2 hungy in kitty and have all the rooks,im thinking if danger plays without restriction go BANG-BANG mitchell danger for zerret zorko, what you think.

    • gator59 says:

You certainly got nothing to lose trading those players in… but side ways trading i'm not so sure i'd be doing that
You probably should've at least had one of them from the start

      • scrotum says:

correct gator but sat back with danger injured and was going to wait to see if i could get him cheaper, maybe i still could if i go cogs mitchell instead and bank the 150 and could always bring him in later

    • Holty says:

Im amazed that you didnt start those 2 if you actually had the cash already. But having said that ive done the same. 😒Anyway, I understand the Zerrett trade as once u have been concussed its a worry. I wouldnt trade Zorko though. Is a proven premium and as soon as you trade him out he will score 150. You started him for a reason so dont waste a trade.

  90. TommyC99 says:

Need to raise a few funds to trade out mills next week. These are my rookies on each line.
Def: doedee, findlayson, Murray, naughton, keeffe
Mid: brayshaw, kelly, Holman, banfield, Dow, Barry,
    Ruc: English
Fwd: Fritsch, garlett, Giles – Langdon

Which trade should I do to make the funds? I only need around 5k. Keeffe – Murphy looking the obvious decision but got Sicily in forwards as the swing.

    • Ben says:

    • SC_Kev7 says:

Naughton or Dow would be the next two on the chopping block. Disappointing as high priced rooks. You could trade either to Murphy, swing Fin into your mids if chopping Dow

      • TommyC99 says:

Yeah like it Kev, but only problem with swinging fin into the mids is that findlayson is a walk up start in defence but if I play him in the mid, I would be leaving better rookies on the bench. Probably 1 of Holman or brayshaw. Compared to in defence where currently have naughton and keeffe on the bench. If O’connor Plays, could bring in o’connor For Dow to give me that def/mid swing

    • INPieman says:

Agree with Kev. Naughton & Dow don't look like they will make much. The article BVC wrote on high priced rookies was on the money. None of them have been worth it so far

      • TommyC99 says:

Which one would you trade pieman? Pls look above as to my thought processes surrounding which one

      • Loonfan says:

What about Davis-Uni, NM. He is a high priced rookie ($189K). If he does ok again next week he should be considered, because his JS is ok.

    • dontblushbaby says:

Naughton to Murphy ,I don't think Dow will lose cash but Murphy will make cash imo

    • neil demons delight says:

      Naughton for mine Dow second

    • Derek says:

      Who are you trading in?

  91. Skinny McThin says:

Second Funniest statistic of round 2
9,101 coaches started Tom Rockliff onfield.
    Funniest Statistic of Round 2

    • SCdonkey says:

I started with Rocky in Round 1, after seeing him play traded him out yesterday just before ports game to Danger. His knee is just not right atm and don't know how long that knee of his will get better.

    • SC_Sixty6 says:

Sounds like somebody isn't happy with their team and didn't take advice. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

      • Sc_Wow says:

Getting a bit worried now Skinny you seem to be getting a little obsessed with me. For someone who says everything I write is incorrect (which you can’t back up) you seem to write a whole lot of bs on here. I’ve never gone near rocky.

    • Tibor says:

Have you ever heard the expression, "Don't poke a dumb animal with a stick " skinny man.

  92. Holty says:

Seriously worried about my selection of Menegola. Hopefully he scores well today but with only a certain amount of SC points to be given out a game, how many are left for him when Geelong have so many high scorers already.

    • Daniel says:

This is the team they started the year with – if it didn't bother you pre-season, why does it bother you now?

      • Holty says:

Good point Daniel. I was just very undecided who to start in the forward line. He seemed the best from a group that i was very unsure of.

    • Dogman says:

Are you assuming Cats will win?

      • Holty says:

No not at all. What im saying is every game has a set amount of points to give out for a game. Geelong will have danger ablett selwood duncan who will all average high. Not everyone can average 100. Thats why people like Titch will benefit at teams like Hawthorn. They dont have many who will average large numbers so points will have to go somewhere.

        • Tibor says:

You seem to have a very high level of understanding about how points are allocated Holty. Personally I don't get it.

Can you shed some light on how The Bonts points are allocated

          • pasta stRayner says:

Points are allocated based on how the possession impacts the game (different to DT which is irrelevant if it is an effective or ineffective possession). More points are allocated thus, for effective and contested v uncontested possessions. Points are allocated to a certain amount every game (I believe it's a total of 4,200 points spread between both teams) and that is why scaling takes place at the end of a match.

The Bont often rakes up the points for minimal possessions as his touches are often contested/effective and he's involved in a lot of score assists (+1 for point assist, +3 for goal assist). Points in Supercoach simply revolve around how the possession impacts the game, if your player kicks the winning goal you can guarantee some extra points will be whacked on!

Hope that gives you a better understanding, good luck for the season Tibor

            • Holty says:

Lol well explained. Funny how we both mentioned The Bont. But i think you will find 3300 is the number. Just checked 3 games during the week and they came to 3300 3302 and 3303.

          • Holty says:

Im hopeless at explaining things but here it goes. Each game is allocated a certain amount of points (if anyone thinks differently please let me know) which is shared between both teams. I think the number is 3300 give or take a couple every game. You have a scoring system where people score for effective kicks, hit-outs to advantage etc but if by games end if those points dont add up to 3300, thats where players get marked up or down. Like Oliver this weekend, at the end of the game he was 135 but was marked up to 146. Last night Parker imo had a better game than Heeney but Heeney scored more. Champion data needed to issue more points out and felt Heeneys influence was more impactful on the game. I think this is where Bont benefits with his scores. The Doggies dont have many players who impact a game so when added points need to be allocated, The Bont seems to benefit. Hope this makes sense.

    • TommyC99 says:

Duncan being out should help him a bit

  93. yaboyazza says:

Do you reckon I should captain Danger or titch? (My opponent also has Titch captain and it's pretty close)

  94. Shaun says:

Please help . What to do with tom bell and is keefe to murphy a good trade.

    • Steeeve says:

      You need Murphy imo

    • seen_burns says:

Few options for Tom Bell are Zac Fisher(93,110), Christensen, McPherson, Dunkley and maybe Taberner.

    • JEL says:

I went Bell to Waterman (WCE), hoping he stays for at least 3-4 weeks until JJK gets back and has increased in value.

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Got $ go up to a keeper.
If want $ trade down to a cheap rook -fritsch, ryan etc.
Straight trade for fisher (nice pod)

  95. Steeeve says:

    So far… the good:
    . Started coniglio
. Traded Dahl out for T McLean just before first Doggies game
. All my forward break out contenders selected are doing okay
. Backed in Oliver despite his knee worry
. Held Fyfe (duh – but many did not)

    The bad:
. Wanted Shaw over Hibberd but wimped out
. Brought in English for Cameron (hate non playing r3s) and he was just awful
. Had Dusty instead of Danger but wimped out of that too and started Danger — don't think I'll pick up Dusty too cheap!
. Naughton and D Fogarty won't make me money

How does everyone else assess their starts?

    • JugHead says:

Mostly ok. My main mistake was a couple of high priced rookies who haven't fired a shot (Rayner and Dow). Shoulda taken more notice of BVC's article. So now I have some work to do.
One thing I'm patting myself on the back for is not rage trading after round 1. Rookies are often inconsistent. You can't judge them on one game, and I didn't try to. My corrective trades are now clearer.

    • dontblushbaby says:

Didn't trade this week, Mills is a concern ,might become Simmo or Heater next week as they will both rise in price, Naughton will become Murphy, Dow will be looked at the following week, some of the high prices rookies still might come good, projected to get 2362 with Titch & Kelly but will be happy with 2330

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

      Yeah pretty happy.
Started this backline so stoked with how they have come out of the blocks.
Laird, Ryan, Bonner, Doodee, Finlaysen, Murray. Naughton, Murphy.
Mids very solid with cogs at M6 and holman and kelly on deck..
Rucks started Kruez who was killing it until and i quote "lost power in his groin" that one line was enough to trade to Nic nat before the carlton game. Would have loved nank but wanted to see if Kruez played. Damn Thursday night game!
Went heavy up fwd with Chisto at 5 and fritsch at 6.
This week money saved on nic nat will turn brayshaw (who is on the bench dont see any point having $200k on the bench) into tarranto putting fritsch on the bench.
I think scully out is just gonna help him.
      So yeah pretty good
Might also bring in rookie ryan up fwd as could be a nice little $ bench earner.
Didn't start Dusty but cant have them all.

    • SC_Sixty6 says:

Only regret is not starting cog. But when you have Danger, Dusty, Titch…..something has to give. Cog will come in for crouch this week though before his price rise.

      • Derek says:

Coniglio was in and out of my team all pre season. Decided to pay the extra and get Kelly. Can’t fit him in, will reluctantly pass.

    • Marty says:

Rookies all right except went Waterman instead of Ryan because Ryan was on the extended bench at the time. McLean and Smith were good picks. Mills and Lobb were the risks and are not panning out well. No Danger may hurt me. Time will tell.

  96. fcabel says:

Is Oliver a level above premos like Cripps/Parker and as such value at his current price?

    • Ja191 says:

definitely value, without injury (oliver) he will make top 5 mids easy. Parker and Cripps also have the potential to make top 5 if not 10 aswell. All are very good value picks

      • Tibor says:

Oliver and Cripps look like being SC premos for a very long time. How old is Parker now, Still looks to be an absolute gun sometimes forgotten a bit out of sight in Sydney or just hidden amongst some other talent they have there.

        • Sc_Wow says:

Parker is only 25, he’s a gun. Only think that makes him hard to get in is the rd 14 bye

  97. Westy says:

1895 with Mitchell (c), Kelly and Roughead to play.
Zorko, Deledio, Fyfe improved significantly on last week. Missed captain loophole – vc is on Martin.

  98. Novastar says:

Maybe one trade this week. Dow to ? Have Kelly, Holman, Brayshaw and Banfield.
Any suggestions or wait a week to see how Davis-Uniacke goes, but he too is a priced rookie like Dow.
Maybe Dow might come good next week and then I’ll still have my 30 trades for what appears to be an injury riddled year.

    • Tasky says:

You have the best mid rookies atm so wait a week for D-U if he does ok again.
But, Dow had wraps on him and he will come good if Bolton preserves with him.

  99. Ja191 says:

Duncan out with a hamstring issue

  100. Jarryd says:

Went to torquay for the weekend after putting the VC on Dusty
Forgot to loophole Stoddart, got the big C on Finlayson lol atleast he tonned up

  101. sc tragic says:

Is Naughton to Bonner a better trade than Naughton to Murphy, tossing up thinking maybe option 2 then swing back the other way.. Will hold Dow 1 more week , maybe.

    • Apocalypse says:

Naughton to Murphy… better off always going cheaper IMO, once that 120 rolls out of Bonner's three round average you'll be trading him out almost as fast as you traded him in.

      • Dean says:

Naughton to Murphy is your best option as cash generation this season is more crucial than ever before. Good Luck

  102. Mike says:

  103. Apocalypse says:

I'm not sure if I'll do any trades in the upcoming week, I've missed out on Cogs and Murphy are the two I'm tinkering with. Is it worth downgrading Brayshaw to Murphy (via DPP swings) and then upgrading O'Meara (stepping stone) to Cogs (keeper)?

Besides from that, I haven't used a trade and look to be sitting in the top few hundred overall after this week.. I had my VC on Oliver but my rucks locked out (idddiot) so rocking with Mitchell (C) today. Sitting on 1,784 with O'Meara, Mitchell (C), Tuohy, Siciliy and Kelly to go. Hoping to go back-to-back 2,400's to start the season, the first time in my ancient supercoach career!

    • Apocalypse says:

Laird, Tuohy, Savage, Doeedee, Finlayson, Murphy (Naughton, Keefe)

Mitchell, Oliver, Fyfe, Parker, Whitfield, O'Meara, Kelly, Holman (Brayshaw, Banfield, Barry)

      Goldy, Gawn (Cameron)

Greene, Billings, Mclean, Smith, Sicily, Fritsch (Ryan, Garlett)

      Any trade suggestions?

      • frank says:

Can't see a single reason to trade. Nice squad. Hold Brayshaw. Joel Selwood went 14, 53 in his first 2 games then tonned up 7 times that year to ave 77.

      • Dean says:

You would be crazy not to go Naughton to Murphy and pocket the $64k and also generate a lot more cash from a cash cow perspective with Murphy as Naughton will lose cash.

Think you scored closer to 2500 with Jelwood's 140 this week well done and a great mix of players with many POD's – Nice team.

    • TommyC99 says:

Brayshaw hasn’t looked too bad in his few games. JS looks good and only needs the one Big game to make us some cash. So i’d Be holding him. Do you have rookies such as Dow, Clark or naughton?

      • pasta stRayner says:

I have Naughton… could just do a correction trade from him to Murphy, and bank the $60k.

I wouldn't have enough money to jump on Cogs.. perhaps the one sole trade will be the best bet next week. Always a predicament if I do Naughton over trading out Keefe though.. I do like the Keefe/Sicily swing.

  104. Armonk says:

Who is more important to get in this week before price jumps, Cripps or Parker? Could grab both but keen to make 1 move in the forward line given the lack of scoring rookies…

    • seen_burns says:

Both Parker and Cripps are good picks, maybe look at your bye structure to see which player is more suited to your team or toss a coin…

    • BVB21 says:

      Parker is better I think

  105. Shaun says:

Thoughts on zac fisher from Carlton.Good start to the year or am i just chasing points. Can any Carlton supporters tell me if he is getting any midfield minutes.

    • BVB21 says:

Not a Carlton supporter but wouldn’t recommend him.

    • INPieman says:

Matera had 2 blinders in a row last year & thousands jumped on, only to be burn to a crisp. I smell a similar fate with this move

    • Paul says:

I am a Carlton supporter and his improvement from last year to this year is about as big a jump as I've ever seen in 1 preseason. He'll play every week and get some good scores but he's a second year player so unlikely to be consistent enough to be worth getting in. Go for a bottom dollar rookie

  106. Beezneez says:

Was expecting Crouch to miss some weeks now, this morning, the Adelaide Advertiser says Crouch will miss significant time with a badly strained hamstring. Like to get some thoughts on the best move out of the following: I have $25K.. It all boils down to saving a trade, getting some $$$ or getting a player with a high ceiling but losing one trade.

    1 Straight trade to Oliver.
    2. Trade to Coniglio and have $172K. or
    3. Trade to Dusty after either a trade of Naughton (to,say, E Richards) – already have Finlayson, Murray, Doedee and Murphy or a trade of Brayshaw (better to have a lower priced rook to L Fogarty or Cerra (depending on Fogarty's score today). Have T Kelly and Holman on field with Barry and Banfield as backup.

Already have Danger, T Mitchell, J Kelly, Cripps and Fyfe.

    • BVB21 says:

      I have the same problem.

We know Oliver and dusty will be top mids.

I personally think they are safe options and good for winning leagues.

If you want to win overall need to take some chances with mid pricers like coniglio, curnow etc

Look at last year. If you had Oliver or Kelly you would have huge advantage.

      • Beezneez says:

Thanks for your reply BVB21. Had Kelly last year and my wife had Oliver – was spewing I didn't pick him and was never able to get him. I guess we can't go wrong with any of those players. Last minute decision methinks.

    • JohnDJ59 says:

I like the straight trade to either Clarry or Coniglio.

  107. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

    Duncan a late out.

  108. JohnDJ59 says:

What do people think of these trades for this week. Mills to Bonner and Clark to Oliver. That way I don't have to trade Crouch out, just have him on the bench till he comes back.

    • INPieman says:

Sounds like a bad hammy according to Beez in the comments. Too much money to have Crouch on the bench for an extended period. Get rid of him. Mills to Bonner ticks multiple boxes

      • JohnDJ59 says:

Thanks for that INPieman, wasn't sure how bad the hammy was,if it was going to be longer than two games,I was going to trade him to Clarry, still need to get rid of Clark though.

        • INPieman says:

If it's more than 2 weeks & sounds like it almost certainly will then that's a forced injury trade. Did the same with Ryder this week. Clarry looks a good option. Clark can wait

    • Derek says:

Bonnar is a bit expensive for me. Got 76 yesterday that included a junk time goal that bumped him up

      • JohnDJ59 says:

I might have to look at a straight swap Mills to Luke Ryan from Freo.

    • SCdonkey says:

If you're looking to move Mills, imo I'd either upgrade to a keeper(premo) or downgrade to a rookie you don't have that's on the bubble. There's no point of trading a mid price to another mid price who you will trade out again later.

      • JohnDJ59 says:

Hi SCdonkey,I can see where you are coming from, was looking at Bonner as my downgrade or Simpson as my upgrade, then I thought Ryan could end up a keeper at either D5 or D6.

  109. Derek says:

I think I’m going to be 100pts off par for this week. A couple of poor decisions with who to have on field cost 100pts.

So far I have avoided the injuries. To have a good year you need to get lucky with injuries.

My Hero’s are Oliver, Dusty, Holman, Doedee, Finlayson and Heater.

Redeemers are Fyfe, Lycett and Devon

Villains have been Billings, Lobb and Mills.

Lobb was on 39 at half time and managed 5 for the second half. Was beaten by a good ruckman. He has Sinclair next week, should do ok.

Mills was 20 in first 5 mins, then dissappeared behind McVeigh and Lloyd. He was my first trade out last year and could be my first trade out this year. Dam cognitive bias I have. I have cash to go to Simpson, but I prefer to get him cheaper.

I’m particularly pleased with Lycett, he played good and should have scored better than 87.

Gawn as C was not great, had it on Oliver until just before bounce.

Looking at 2270 if TMitch and TKelly can get 200 between them.

Ryan is only rookie I missed. Went with Z-Langdon instead.

    • Shaun says:

Nice start derek. What would you do with tom bell if you owned him?

    • INPieman says:

I wouldn't be too disappointed in missing Liam Ryan Derek. He's going to give you 2-3 turds for every blinder. And he won't play a Dogs team with no hunger every week. If you make it to 2270 I'd suggest that might be a little better than par

      • SCdonkey says:

Agree INP, i have Ryan 115 sitting on the bench. Not corncern of missing that juicy 115 points, we just never know which rookies that will score better than the other. More importantly is the main blokes you pick that will score you points and keep you in the pack.

    • dontblushbaby says:

Same with Mills to Simmo, I'll get him this week as his price will rise, I would have had him my starting team but he played a different role in the JLT for some reason

    • SCdonkey says:

Not a bad return Derek, considering a few low score. Anything over 2200 is a good score in my book, I'm currently at 1995 with Danger, Titch and Kelly to play i don't know and don't care about what's my projection score is. All care is for my last 3 players to hit over 300 points between them. Should push me up the ranking this week.

Oh! Just noticed we're in the same league, didn't know that's you. Played in the same league with ya in past.

      • Derek says:

The Bunnies struggled last year and didn’t make many finals. I’ll be looking forward to a good battle against you this year.

    • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Had Gawn as capt last week Oliver this week Not a great record Gawn has against Bris and Robbo out swayed me to Oliver. Your score if you get 2270 you will take that. I went Langdon instead of Ryan aswell.

    • TOPHAWK1 says:

Solid side and start to the season Derek. I like the Heater and Lycett picks, but not too sure on Mills. Mills to Simmo is a must IMO. Dont wait and do a Docherty mate. He aint going to get any cheaper. I dont have Simmo either but I do have Bonner. I am hoping to upgrade Bonner to Simmo in the not too distant future. Bonner averages 98 SC over his first 2 games, so he should appreciate nicely after the lock out. Good luck today!

      • Dean says:

Derek nice score seeing Titch and Kelly scored 265 between them, you'll be greatful of that as this means you should score around the 2335 mark which is a decent score.
I was on 2029 with Titch, Menegola and Kelly to play, so I ended up scoring 2351 – Unfortunately Menegola didn't preform and I see him struggling in the side with Danger & Gazza sharing rolls up forward so I am certain Menegola will not finish in the top 15 or 20 forwards also it wouldn't surprise me if Scott drops him next week.

I'm trading Menagola to Robbie Grey which I am set on doing.
My other trade will be Hibberd to Shaw and will pocket myself $134,600 by doing this.

I admit I am a little reluctant about trading Hibbered as its still early, however Heater looks the goods this season and for his price I feel a lot more convinced that Heater will finish being a top 10 defender come season end, where as for Hibbered I am not sure whether he will finish in the top 20 defenders as he is way to unpredictable his scores of 74 & 72 have been very disappointing to say the least considering his hefty price tag of $545k

        Good luck mate.

  110. inNout says:

do you have the bont in your team ? Hold or trade ?

    • INPieman says:

The Dogs got Boyd & Schache for a reason. And when they play they will want quality ball users delivering to them. So I'd hang onto him

  111. StevoRivo says:

Of all my starting picks, Lambert at F2 has been a big letdown. Then the frustration of replacing Ryder with NicNats 85, going with Langdon at F6 instead of Ryan.

I guess the call now is whether to trade or hold Lambert?

    • pasta stRayner says:

You're often better off just simply holding for a few weeks, If Lambert is your number one concern it's not too bad.

I normally say jump off ship with premiums early if:
      1) they are playing a different role to what you originally anticipated for based on pre-season/JLT
      2) long term injury
      3) missed the boat on an under-priced premium that looks to be top 10 in the position (in your case, Smith, Mclean I'd be jumping ship)

Somethings to consider, good luck! I'd almost consider hitting that trade button.

    • Derek says:

Caddy out next week might help

      • neil demons delight says:

Great start Derek I have Lambert and seriously considering Smith or petracca as a corrective move.

  112. TOPHAWK1 says:

Any more news on Dangerfield? Have there been any whispers out there with regards to his hamstring? Any intel on whether he will spend much time forward? Even the smallest snippet of intel would be very helpful!

Hey, Hedski! You are a big cats fan, you got anything on Danger for me? LOL

    • dontblushbaby says:

An interview not long ago on Triple M with I think it was Scott Sellwood said that the team wouldn't be putting too much pressure on him as he's only played 1/2 a JLT game

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

      Was only a slight strain
He has had ample time to recover.
Be no sign of it today he will be back at it 100%

      • TOPHAWK1 says:

Thanks Trigga! The C is firmly planted on Danger. No guts no glory!

        • Shake_n_Bake_ says:

He would have ants in his pants!! If you have Dangerman u go with Dangerman.

    • Tyruddanaut says:

He was limping towards the end but he was fine while running.
Just had a huge meltdown I think

  113. dontblushbaby says:

    ****** Mark O'Connor is a late,late in for Ratulogea

  114. Finnius says:

two minutes in and I am VERY happy I started with Dangerfield

  115. Marty says:

Danger on 32 after 7 mins. Wow.

    • Steeeve says:

Ends the quarter on 35. Rested forward… still a massive quarter but hopefully he doesn't spend too much time forward

  116. Russty_ says:

    Oh Sicily…Stop being a flog!

  117. Tibor says:

Gaz really looks like the old Gaz, running around the back for the handball and turning it into the one, two the scores might be very big.

Sicily will challenge Toby for the Flog title pretty soon. The fifty to Selwood was absurd.

  118. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Cats first 3 goals Danger Selwood then Ablett whats the odds?!

  119. Defying_Madness says:

Selwood is such a protected species

  120. Defying_Madness says:

Selwood is the one true flog. Sicily should have done more to him

  121. Steeeve says:

T Kelly looking sublime again rookie selection of the year.
Glad i have Danger (and the C on him).
Sicily owners are in for an absolute rollercoaster ride this season.

  122. Jim_bob321 says:

Is it worth downgrading anyone to Tim Kelly? Literally looks unstoppable!

    • Defying_Madness says:

It doesn't matter how you do it just get him in!

    • Russty_ says:

Yep get him in Jimbob, will go up 100 grand + next week, can't believe only 52% of coaches have him.

    • Multi_ says:

      Absolute guaranteed must have

      • Jim_bob321 says:

Would u downgrade Brayshaw for the extra cash or Banfield?

        • Multi_ says:

Jim I personally would watch the teams next week I am sticking with Brayshaw as I think Freo will as well

    • Maverick_ says:

lol why would u not have started him before rd 1?? he was the biggest lock of the preseason for rookies… my goodness

    • Dean says:

      Jim-bob321 are you serious mate?

If this is a serious question and you have Brayshaw who scored a 58 & 62 and costs $198k – You would be stupid not to downgrade Brayshaw to Kelly not only because T Kelly looks as though he will be the highest earning Cash cow for season 2018 but also because you will be getting $83,000 back into your war chest.

FFS mate just do it if you're being serious…

  123. JohnDJ59 says:

Have a feeling I should have taken VC Fyfe's 120 instead of the C on Titch.120 is usually my cut off score, but raised it to 130 this season.

    • Russty_ says:

Looking allright for you now John, should ton up ok, I've got Sicily spudding it at the moment, bit of a worry.

      • JohnDJ59 says:

Yes I feel better now Russty, that first Q score of 19 had me worried, but in the second Q he was back to his best.

    • Defying_Madness says:

Titch is a gun, should pump out a massive score

    • NoLanguage says:

      Sit back and relax Johnny!

  124. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

    First time Ive watched kelly

    One word: wow!

  125. SCdonkey says:

With Holman and TKelly playing the way they are, won't be in a hurry getting any premos in mid. Will give me a chance to concentrate more at other area.

  126. BlueBaggerJosh says:

Kelly is this years menegola, talking about that the latter isn't looking great. Gonna drop in price exponentially could be an upgrade target?

    • Dean says:

Stay clear of Menegola mate. He hasn't had an impact scoring 74 & 54 and I feel a lot of it has to do with Gazza being back in the side. I also think Scott wont hesitate to drop him if he doesn't improve.

Don't get trapped into Menegola unless he avrages 100 between R3 to R12

  127. neil demons delight says:

For those like me without s c gold you can get most of it on TOO SERIOUS CHECK IT OUT FELLAS

    • Bazza says:

Thanks Neil for your interest. I know about Too serious and although it is a good and free SC tool it lacks many features that SC gold provides. Do you know if SC gold is the same as SC stats which is available for about $20. Are SC gold subscribers happy with the service. I am a new SCer and am hopeless scoring 1901 point last week.

  128. Defying_Madness says:

The umpires are trying to win the game for Geelong as usual. This is an absolute disgrace

  129. Finnius says:

Tim Kelly captaincy option next week?

  130. NoLanguage says:

Tim Kelly on 60 10 min into the 2nd.

If you don't have him don't bother playing this game.

  131. Tyruddanaut says:

Anyone who said that TK won’t score 118 again shouldn’t have rights to free speech

  132. Holty says:

This Kelly kid is a gun. How does he slip through the system and wait until his 23 to debut

  133. Holty says:

I have no idea how Roughead is on 49 but ill take it. And Menegola…….. not really sure what i can say

  134. DARREN GASPER says:

Thoughts on trading Lobb this week would like to get Taranto in

    • Davo says:

Thinking same, a risk for sure but that is what this game is about.

    • AuroraBorealis?! says:

Give Lobb one more week, He's up against Sinclair and should score ok. Taranto wont go up in price that much either, if Lobb does well keep him, if he doesn't, trade him.

    • David C says:

Yep, Scully out. Only Hopper to come back in. Taranto is a good get.

  135. TOPHAWK1 says:

Sam Menegola's price is going dooowwwwnnnn. 74SC last week and 7 SC at half time today. Owners must be spitting chips at the moment.

    • Holty says:

Yeah Hawk ive seen enough. Just dont see him playing the midfield time he needs now to be SC relevant. I will be traded him this week.

    • Dean says:

TopHawk there are pro's and cons when selecting a high priced spud.

Granted I wish I started Boak over Menegola but I didn't as I chose Menegola hoping he would be a POD as only 7% own him and if he didn't work out which seems to be the case then I always had in mind that I can trade him to Gray providing Gray played well enough and while doing so pocket myself $47k to put towards the Danger fund as I really wanted Gray from the start.

I always feel as though having a high priced player or so called premo that ends up being a spud is a lot better then having a underperforming mid priced player because its easy to go for example from Menegola to R Gray, Boak, Westhoff or Buddy or whoever else and by doing so adding cash towards your bank.
Id rather have Menegola as opposed to say someone like Sicily which 23% own at a awkward price of $403k who will be quite inconsistant I feel and if you dont have the cash to upgrade to whoever then its a real pain and thats when silly trades start to take place because those without the extra cash will do uncalled for trades just to generate the cash to bring in players that are more consistant and pricey OR they end up doing sideways trades which ends up being a wasted trade anyway.

I personally wanted Gray in my forward line and would have chose Gray from the start if my Forward bench rookie Emergency scored well enough but that didn't eventuate. Im not perturbed by Gray playing only 8 games within 10 weeks.
So now Menegola becomes Gray + $47k to the Danger collection kitty.

      • TOPHAWK1 says:

        Hi Dean,

Menegola is in "no mans land" .

Not forward, not midfield, just somewhere in between. Menzel is kicking goals up forward and ABLETTDANGERWOOD are taking care of the midfield.

        Just my take mate.

  136. Holty says:

Wow. Danger 16 Selwood 16 Ablett 14 at the half and Hawthorn dominating the scoreboard.

  137. neil demons delight says:

Hey GATOR Saints could use McEvoy another that slipped thru

  138. gator59 says:

Yeah Neil, Why in the hell would a club give away there # 1 ruckman… St Kilda would

    • Russty_ says:

Yep Gator, and we've never had a decent Ruck since, did get Savage though..whoopee

      • gator59 says:

The way we are recruiting Russty it's gunna be a long time before we have another one

  139. Steeeve says:

GET DANGER BACK IN THE GUTS. Hes gonna ton up but nothing like we've come to expect. If this continues (Duncan still to return) those who started without him will love snatching him up at $620k.

  140. NoLanguage says:

TMitch just casually tonning up with 3 min left in the 3rd. Never mind Dangerwoodlett!

  141. BlueBaggerJosh says:

everyone today tearing it up for me except Sicily, lift mate!

  142. Maverick_ says:

what a treat it'll be if ablett can stay fit for 23 rounds. he is truly magnificicent to watch! Looks to be enjoying his football again

  143. DavidSA says:

Mitchell is a freak and a must have in SuperCoach for the next 10 years
    He is a 120-135 player

  144. hedski says:

    Great last qtr coming up.
    Come on cats!!!

  145. Parsons Mum says:

    Lift Parsons

  146. BrownlowBoy says:

Said it last week but jeez, Kelly is class.

Geelong have been very very good at plucking mature agers out and turning them into quality players with the likes of Pods, Menegola, Stewart all being mature age recruits

  147. SCdonkey says:

C'mon O'Connor lay some tackles to boost your points. I'll be happy with 70 from ya..

  148. BlueBaggerJosh says:

    What. A. Game.

  149. TOPHAWK1 says:

    DANGER!!!!! What a last quarter!!

  150. Dogs says:

No regrets in starting danger, dusty and titch

  151. Kyle says:

    Boy oh boy wowee!

  152. Ja191 says:

    #freekickgeelong the umpiring was ridiculous

    • gator59 says:

Get Danger in the guts more and BANG.. Why in the hell was Zac Guthrie playing on Roughie…He beat him hands down in the air way to many times

      • BrownlowBoy says:

No genuine tall defender for Geelong really hurt them. Guthrie got caught out a couple of times but it was to be expected.

      • neil demons delight says:

And why did the Saints dump McEvoy

        • Russty_ says:

For Savage and a first round pick apparently Neil, plus Ben wanted to go and play in a good team lol

      • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

        Reckon danger was 50/50 fwd/mid.
Has a say when he is in the guts.

  153. DavidSA says:

unbelievable how much Danger got a free pass in that last qtr
Probably the worst umpuring in a qtr I have ever seen

  154. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

    How good was that?
    Finals like game.
Thats how u do it saints.
Great comeback by the cats and rough having the final say.
Big 3 were great but titch even better adding a couple of snags to his repertoire.

  155. hedski says:

Fantastic game to watch even tho my cats lost.

  156. Defying_Madness says:

    • DavidSA says:

      Calm calm πŸ˜…

      • Defying_Madness says:

Sorry a bit emotional here, the worst umpiring I have ever seen. Was really frustrating to watch. On top off that a bit of history between Hawks and the Cats. I can't help but hate all three of them

    • BrownlowBoy says:

Selwood is a champion. One of the best players in the past decade.

      • Derek says:

He should become an umpire when he retires. He is always telling the ump he should have got a free

        • Defying_Madness says:

Whenever I look at him he's waving his hands around for the free

    • hedski says:

Bit harsh calling him a dog DM, plays the game tough and hard (maybe ekes the odd high free).

    • Bulldog boy says:

You need physiological help pal. It is only a game and what a ripper it was.
Mitchell bog and Danger will only get better. Many SCers behind the ball already and will not be able to afford to get him in.

    • IntelDesign says:

      Why the hate?

  157. Tyruddanaut says:

    J. Roughead 3 Votes

  158. KSinny says:

    UP THE HAWKS!!!!

  159. Jim_bob321 says:

    Naughton to Bonner
    Brayshaw to Kelly

    • Vinny says:

Do whatever you can to get Kelly in!! That’s the definite first step!
      Otherwise looks like solid trades.

    • David C says:

Kelly yes, I wouldn't be doing the Bonner trade.

      • Pitch72 says:

Yeah, do the bonner trade, his b/e is -57, naughton is +25, he’ll make more cash and he is a better scorerπŸ‘πŸ»

    • Dean says:

I like those trades and I would be bringing in Bonner also but I gotta get Shaw & R Gray as my priority.

  160. neil demons delight says:

Wow what a game pity about the umpiring Is Danger the new Bont I counted 5 frees given to geelong that were suss in that last qtr .Best team won sorry Hedski but top game

    • hedski says:

No apologises needed Neil, great game.
We had our chances, let the Hawks have there way a bit in the first half.

    • LittleBoyBlue says:

Plus 3 or more that weren't paid against Danger and GAJ in the last quarter mate. Looks they have immunity to incorrect disposal frees against, how do you get tackled to the ground drop the ball and then flick throw the ball off the ground to a teammate without giving away a free kick. Worst umpiring I've ever seen, they were starstruck and too scared to pay frees against Danger or Ablett, I hope they don't get a finals game

      • JohnDJ59 says:

Always the way with Geelong, you can add Selwood to that lot and they weren't even playing at the cattery.

  161. DavidSA says:

So what are the people gonna do with their premium rookies
    Rockliff and Mengelola πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    • BrownlowBoy says:

Those two have flopped big time. Huge price drops I would think?

      • IntelDesign says:

Looks as if his role's changed and not for the better. With Kelly cementing his midfield minutes, Duncan still to come back, Ablett in there, it was suicide picking him – on reflection. Heeney, Buddy or a switcheroo in that order, perhaps.

        • DavidSA says:

Yup I think Franklin, Heeney, Petracca and even a sneaky Lynch would be better
All 4 of these guys will be well over 90 avg

Forward line is a headache every year but this is the worst ever

          • BrownlowBoy says:

            I like Walters too

            • Derek says:

              Gray is top 6

              • DavidSA says:

Derek Gray would be easily top 6 this year now we have seen how thin the fwd line is after 2 rounds. Billings and Dahlhaus are in a stinking team and Mengelola is getting squeezed out.

Still Ports greatest strength is rotation of its mids and small forwards. Just gotta hope Gray does not have them games where he is a small forward and goes missing like last year

                • DavidSA says:

                  urgh Menegola*
Damn iPad had it locked on a auto correct for a Italian soccer player lmfao!

            • DavidSA says:

Looks like he is part of the mid hub?
I think he is relevant too but under Ross is scary

          • hedski says:

            Lynch, no just no.

            • TommyC99 says:

I think it would be better waiting until he’s 300k to bring Lynch in

    • redherringfc says:

The way Rocky is going he might pose some very serious value as a midfield bench player so we can loophole him if ever gets his mojo back.

      • DavidSA says:

yeah it's a possibility to grab him cheap after he has a spell and gets his act together before coming back into the best 22 for Port. Reckon he might bottom out around the 390-400k mark maybe lower?

  162. Tyruddanaut says:

Had a decent week and I think I’m on par with 2314 points and a very lucky Dangerfield as captain (seriously, he didn’t deserve any free kicks there
But like everyone, I had my heroes and villains

Laird with 120, better than expected! 2018’s Docherty
Doedee is a must have and a legend
Coniglio keeps on providing even though two weeks ago I didn’t think he would average 105
Smith has blown up in the same game that Walters started in
    Heeney scores well, 110
I’m glad I held Danger as captain and Mitchell looks the goods. He is close to, or even, going to get three votes in that spectacle. Ball magnet but uses it well
TK is rookie of the year without a doubt! Now averages 120
Holman and Finlayson are legends too

Billings only scoring 79 against North Melbourne. Ugh. Can’t blame him though, not his fault his team were rubbish.
Lobb with 58 but against Grundy and a stacked Collingwood midfield. Can cop it but I don’t want to
Hibberd two weeks in a row in the 70s. I hate it!! Almost willing to use a trade on him
Brayshaw is not scoring enough for his price tag and same can be said of Naughton
Ryan, in the rookie category, is on this list because he was benched. Dear god

    Fyfe πŸ™‚
Zorko still isn’t up to par, but I will continue to cope with it

  163. Connor says:

    Danger 80 point last quarter??
In comparison to others he didn't have that great of an impact… oh well maybe won't be as cheap as I hoped

    • Derek says:

Why didn’t he play in the guts earlier?

    • Russty_ says:

      More like 50 points.

    • Worble says:

Dangerfield. Me, like many are rueing that I didn’t get him. What a player. He willed himself in the last quarter. How was that takeaway from Rioli in the last quarter!

  164. Vinny says:

    Par score for this week?

    • Tyruddanaut says:

      Low 2300s

    • Kyle says:

Depends on who you had missing. Im happy with my 2160 considering i had kreuzer and greene that i had to cover with subpar rooks – if i had ryan on for green wiulda gone 2200+ tho so about par i guess

  165. Northerner says:

Thoughts on par score – top 5% – this week? 2350??

    • KSinny says:

I ended up with 2350 so I hope so

    • Tyruddanaut says:

      5% would be 2320 I reckon
10% would be 2180 around abouts

    • johnno2908 says:

Could be big. I managed 2482 with 5x blokes on field between 58 and 62. Holman, Ryan, Murphy on bench. Leaving lots of points on the bench already, but still happy with the 2482

  166. Russty_ says:

If Sicily gets suspended this week I'm trading him out..the guy's a moron, can't control his emotions.

    • BlueBaggerJosh says:

      why would he be suspended?

    • BrownlowBoy says:

What did he do? I missed the first quarter.

    • Nutcrack says:

At Least it is a good week to trade him out. A silly billy but I think he will be ok.

    • Tibor says:

It was a shocker. Did not appear to actually do Selwood any damage but it was very ugly. Hard to imagine him not getting a spell for that. He behaved like a total flog all day. Was he making up for Toby's absence this week. He has gone past Toby in the flog stakes I reckon. I actually have him because I felt that after last years behaviours the hawks would get him under control but he is clearly just a total tool.

I'll be trading him out when he gets suspended and cop my right whack for putting a flog in in the first place

      • Russty_ says:

Couldn't agree more Tibor, I might trade him anyway just for the floggery, if he doesn't miss this week, it's just a matter of time before he does something serious and gets rubbed out for weeks.
        I don't think it's a sideways I'd regret if I get Curnow.

    • Sc_Wow says:

A week for that? You’ve got to be kidding

  167. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Cmon scaling need 5 to hit the magical 2400 mark.

  168. Shake_n_Bake_ says:

Went with Selwood instead of Danger at the start of the year not bad yet!!

  169. AuroraBorealis?! says:

Par for this week? I think im a little bit under at 2275.

    • Maverick_ says:

2370 for me. i think im about par

    • redherringfc says:

      Followed up my 1850 1st round with a 2330.

No trades, just put the right rookies on and had Danger, Zorko and Merrett actually get me some points.

      • Russty_ says:

        Nice comeback Red!

      • johnno2908 says:

Great fight back. That’s the issue with the POD’s I suppose. Extremely unlucky to have 2 blokes get 50 in week 1, when realistically you would except 220+. But they are very good players, so hopefully more of the 2300+ coming for you!

  170. BrownlowBoy says:

Kelly has the potential to be a keeper.

  171. Paul says:

    Weitering *facepalm*

    • BlueBaggerJosh says:

thank god i traded him to Simmo after his 55. Do yourself a favour and trade him out quickstat. could even be dropped. Go to a premium if you have the cash, if you're looking for a cheap option Marchbank is 28k more expensive with scores of 105 and 81

      • Paul says:

I'll get Bonner I think. See if I can sneak Robbie Gray in up forward

        • BlueBaggerJosh says:

Just assumed you had him, that's definitely the best plan

  172. Alex says:

Pat is 2250 this week, you’re hearing it from an expert

  173. dontblushbaby says:

I didn't , but I hope no one got burnt with the late inclusion of O'Connor ? I had him sitting on the bench, good start with 62

    • Lazza says:

I got burnt by the late outs .. had him on field as my loophole in case Franklin (VC) did a repeat.. had Danger as Capt .. had Luke Ryan (106) on the bench as my E. Also copped it with Greene on field and had wrong E.. ended up with Zac Langdon (65) but had Liam Ryan (115) sitting there twiddling his thumbs.. The Ryan factor = 94 points..

  174. Rocksta says:

2353 this week, off the back of a 2422 last week. Reasonably happy given I left around 90 points on the bench this week. That said, I’m sure everybody will experience this. By the way, still 30 trades left.

  175. TOPHAWK1 says:

I thought I was cooked at 3/4 time with Danger on a measly 84SC. Big last quarter got him to 130 SC. Ended up with exactly 2350. Will take that after 2250 last week. Hopefully I can build from here. How did everyone else fare?

    • Defying_Madness says:

Scored 2380 this week. A few dispointments in the forward line such as Lobb, Sicily and Billings but apart from that pretty happy with the round. Was forced to trade Kreuzer to Nic Nat so hoping his TOG increases quickly. Merret is a bit worrying as well maybe I should trade him to Danger.

      • TOPHAWK1 says:

Nice score DM. Sicily is a nutter. Needs anger management classes. Dont have Sicily but also got bitten by Billings and Hibberd, had Ryan on the bench and Fritsch onfield and had Murphy on the bench and Murray onfield. So left 77 SC on the bench. But you get that. Cheers mate.

        • JohnDJ59 says:

2252 for me and everything you said plus Mills and Crouch.

          • TOPHAWK1 says:

Thats solid mate because Mills was sheize and Crouch was the Merret I had last week. Cheers

    • Russty_ says:

Hey Hawk, well done mate, nice improvement!, I started with 2308 last week and got 2407 this week, very happy with my start, my best ever I think πŸ™‚

      • TOPHAWK1 says:

Sensational start Russtyy! I am bloody envious. But its still early days and the leagues start next week! haha I have not used any trades yet, I have Danger and all the right rooks. (Murphy, Bonner, Murray, Doedee, Finlayson, Murphy, Kelly, Holman, Ryan, Fritsch and even Brayshaw. Dom Barry, Banfield, Giles-Langdon, and Naughton are the 4 rooks that will be looked at as trade bait. That O'Connor from the Cats looks pretty good. Not sure if I need to trade this week. I want to save my trades for as long as absolutely possible. Cheers mate.

        • Russty_ says:

Cheers mate, I'm not that sold on Ryan, he did get 38 week 1, I have Keefe in there too to swing with Siciflog, who I will be punting this week if he gets suspended, so maybe I'll punt Keefe too for Murphy.. O' Connor only came in cause that Ratugalea guy didn't get up, wonder if he'll get regular games or not? I might just let Naughton rot on the bench, he has pretty good JS I reckon.

          • TOPHAWK1 says:

Yep. Naughton has been condemned to the bench. He will be about as effective as Nathan Brown from the Saints. Possibly the worst SC scorer who gets regular games. Zac Dawson is lucky as he has been de listed.

            • Russty_ says:

Hahah yeah I believe Zac is now trying to sell commercial real estate, won't sell much to any Saints Fans lol

      • Defying_Madness says:

I think this might be my best start as well. Always great to see some improvement on previous years, great job Russty. Looking forward to versing you in some leagues over the year.

        • Russty_ says:

I noticed Deafness was right up there mate, well done to you too, Leagues are gonna be tough this year!

    • Rocksta says:

      Please see above

    • Derek says:

The Bunnies dropped a bit this week in overall rank. 1,199th after 2 rounds.

  176. FearTheBeard says:

2330 with Kreuz out and English as cover.

    Gawn as captain.

    110k in the bank too.

2343 last week too so won't complain.

  177. johnno2908 says:

$2k short of going Brayshaw and Lobb to Simpson and Bonner. Probably not a bad thing, as looks like the war chest will be required to get Danger in the next couple of weeks. Shame he had that 48 point last quarter to keep that price up.

  178. Munster says:

How quickly is SC runn8ng now. Fabulously organised with so much info. Who needs SC gold?

    • Russty_ says:

I especially like the part where you have to wait 5 to 10 minutes for the 'Live' scores to come in, Fanfooty is much quicker.

  179. Sc_Wow says:

    SuperCoach is open

  180. BlueBaggerJosh says:

Holding trades, sticking fat with Hibberd, naughton on bench and sicily but if he gets suspended (unlikely in my book) he'll turn into Curnow.

  181. FearTheBeard says:

Thinking might be best to trade Kreuzer after holding. He is clearly not right, groins can be tricky. He has a breakeven over 200 right now.

Would people go Nank or Nic Nat?

I was going Nic Nat though i'm curious did he get more minutes this week or not really? Nank might be the safer option even if he is a lot less likely to smash 100+ then Nic nat can.

    • Russty_ says:

Hey Beard, I heard them say during the game that Nicnat's being managed by only being put on for 11 or 12 minutes per quarter, so that could last a few weeks yet, until he gets stronger and more stamina.

      • FearTheBeard says:

Thanks mate. What are your views on Kreuzer?

I held last week as I thought he might be ok if named.

Now Im thinking it's obviously not great.

Nank the safe option and pocket 120k+ no 200 breakeven.

        • Russty_ says:

I'd be worried about holding him but you can wait and see till teams are released, Groins are a bit of a bugger injury and can drag on, I started with Nank so pretty happy with how he's going, don't think Soldo will affect him much if he does get games.
          Witts could be ok too.

        • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Kruez "lost power in his groin"
To me that doesnt sound too good and not a short term thing
As playing Friday night dont think he will play again this week

    • Ja191 says:

I’d go nank. Cheap and looked good so far. Nic nat is getting limited game time which will limit his scoring whilst also the potential to get injured/rested at any time. Risk isn’t worth it imo

    • Finnius says:

As he almost got up for last weekend I assume that he is pretty close to being fully fit – in that case he should be fine for this weekend. As they have the friday game if he doesn't get up then you can trade to whoever you want.

    • FearTheBeard says:

Just wanted to thank you all for your help and views.

As a Tiger fan Nank is looking like my option if Kreuz is out.

  182. gator59 says:

Has anyone heard any news on matt crouch and how long he will be out for

  183. FearTheBeard says:

Anyone able to help me pick a decision lol.

Go Nank & Ryan (purely for cash cow in) have 300k+ in the bank for the week. Go for DANGER asap.

Sinclair (can't afford Nank and he's the next ruck that's affordable) & Conglio with peanuts in the bank and slaughter some cows for Danger later and most likely upgrade sinclair in the coming weeks to someone who demands the spot (Nank isn't going up much but Conglio IS though I would be burning a trade on ruck again and missing Ryan as a cow?) Hard as it is to swallow skipping Conglio might be best for the week .Worst case if he

    • FearTheBeard says:

      Bloody accidentally hit enter.

If he kills it I go for cogs as the stepping stone in week 3 with the 300k left over!

    • Finnius says:

You don't want Sinclair in your side. He won't be a keeper, and so then the next best thing is Nank. Although COniglio will make money, if you don't think that he will be a keeper then there is no point picking him, whereas if you bank the cash you will be able to pick a definite keeper in Danger ASAP, whilst also getting a solid cash cow in Ryan after his ton on the weekend.

      • FearTheBeard says:

        Thanks for the help Finnius.

I do believe Cogs could well be a keeper.

Though there is no chance Sinclair is.

The logic is i'm losing one I was hoping was a set and forget in Kreuz (even if I go for him again he will be substancially cheaper with a 200+ break even already!) plus the groin issue hovering.

Nank could well do for months/season.

Ryan will fatten my bank quicker too.

350K+ in there next week when I likely cull Naughton to O'Connor.

Started with Dusty,Titch, Oliver, Kelly, Fyfe so adding Danger in there is going to be more important then Cogs one would assume especially with Kelly & Holman holding their own for us on field.

        Agree with my logic?

    • Rocksta says:

I can’t comprehend much of what you say.
What I can devulge from from your rambling is that you want to slaughter some cows?
You won’t be able to do that until rd 4, and even then, they willbe corrective trades!
      Chill the fk out!

Just looking at early trades that have been done , Josh Kelly and Doodee traded out ?? seriously ?

  186. Ja191 says:

any updates on the toby greene injury?

  187. Whitey says:

Hi guys, making 2 trades this week. Is trading Garlett for Ryan (fwd rookies) a waste of a trade?

    Thanks in advance.

  188. TOPHAWK1 says:

Titch averaging 157.5 after first two rounds, with 94 disposals. This bloke is going to be diagnosed with leather induced toxicity syndrome!

  189. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Did anyone watch the GWS game?
    Seriously considering Tarranto this week.
    Scored well first 2 weeks
Has he taken it up a notch or two?
With scully to miss weeks thinking may provide more mid time?
    Kid can play.
Oh and whitfield has moved out of the midfield giving a spot to timmy.
    Feedback on his game?

  190. Froglet says:

Hmmm. Interesting. Might do if Sicily goes!

  191. Mongoose says:

I’m trading Naughton for Murphy. That gives me $545K.
Sicily will probably get suspended. Yes, I took a risk but he hasn’t learnt his lesson yet. Very undisciplined act in the first quarter.
So, I’m going Robbie Gray. His round 10 bye suits me and he will be in the best 10 fwds.
Taranto at $365 is cheap. How much will he increase in price this week? He round 13 bye also suits. But will he be in the best 6-10 fwds?
Heeney’s round 14 bye is dreadful for my structure at this stage.

  192. Dean says:

I scored 2351 so in the top 5% of scoring and went from being ranked 9971 to 5186 – So in the Top 3% overall thus far..

    My team is as follows:

Hurley, Laird, Hibberd, Doedee, Murray, Finlayson (Naughton, L Murphy)
Martin, Titch, Jelly, Fyfe, Cripps, Armitage, T Kelly, Holman (Banfield, Garlett, Barry)
    Martin, Gawn (Olango)
Heeney, Menegola, Smith, Petracca, Christensen, Fritsch (Ryan, Giles-Langdon)

Menegola OUT – R Gray IN
Hibberd OUT – Simpson IN or H Shaw

    • Tyruddanaut says:

You need to get Naughton out. He will make you a maximum of 40k and you can get better.
Try to make the money for Riley Bonner and maybe Zac Guthrie

  193. Minnie says:

Keep Hibberd but I like the Gary trade.. PA are a strong team. How much midfild time will he get? That would be my only concern.

    • Dean says:

Minnie Hibberd is far to inconsistant mate. Last season in his first two games he scored 124 & 90 – I cannot see Hibberd being a top 15 Defender.

  194. AuroraBorealis?! says:

Should i trade Crouch to Dusty or Oliver? Im leaning towards Oliver because he's cheaper and a POD, but at the same time im worried that not having Dusty will hurt me.

  195. Marty says:

Mills to Bonner and Crouch to Danger. Can't afford not to have him. In a few weeks with top match fitness will go nuts.

  196. Marty says:

    Sicily out for one match…damn
