A new dawn is upon us.

The Jock Reynolds podcasts are back. Lekdog and Patch have stepped up to the microphone in the wake of Jock, Higgo and Crouching stepping down.

It’s a rough one. Be gentle with us, community. We are but new at this podcast game. We’re not the men that came before us, with their talent, their humour, their insight.

But we can damn well try, which is what we’ve done.

It’s a rough one, and we’ll get better, but please let us know what you want to hear in the podcasts. What you want us to see, what (if anything) worked and what didn’t.

So sit back, relax and try not to cry as you think about the warm embrace of Jock Reynolds as Lekdog and Patch unpack the fantasty relevance from Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton and Collingwood.

Woo hoo, was down to my last handful of kibble, bring it on boys!

  2. Patch says:

    Alternative working title:

    Roses are red
    Violets are blue
    We heard you liked podcasts
So we made one for you

  3. Liam says:

    My day has been made.

    Love you fellas.

  4. Tiger Man says:

Good work lads, big shoes to fill but I think the podcast is in safe hands.

  5. Gray says:

    Great show Lek & Patch!!

  6. DavidSA says:

    You guys we be fine
Just don't try too hard or force it in a character sense.

I think do a formula that's familiar with your own flavour 🙂
Can always refer to the past if it can be tied into a topic that is relevant.

  7. Damo says:

Cracking job fellas. Can't wait for the next podcast.

  8. DavidSA says:

Oh just thought of this too btw
Should bid to get one of the magestic 3 or all 3 for that matter for one special podcast this year somewhere down the season 🙂 this time they are guests

    • Patch says:

Jock's bloody difficult to get a hold of now he's living off the land and Crouching is still on a lot of morphine, so it probably won't be an option for the time being but hearing those voices again would do interesting things to my trouser region

  9. Patch says:

He wrote a letter to the community on the weekend talking about it: http://www.jockreynolds.com.au/2018/02/11/a-lette

They've decided to step back for a while

  10. hedski says:

Great work lads, a touch of echo in the mics there but I'm sure you will smooth that out.
Got a little bit of Rocket Eade about you Patch!
Looking fwd to next week cheers boys.

  11. T_Mitch says:

Looking forward to the gin year ahead gents

  12. nickgonzalez771 says:

Seeing patch back in action makes me happy beyond words. Love you long time
    Good man!

  13. Donald Drumpf says:

Laugh tracks – really? Hmmmmm. As per above, dont try too hard or force it. Good luck.

  14. Skindog says:

Please come back Jock, higgo and Crouching😩😩

  15. gordo29 says:

Glad you guys are back up and running. Any chances yous can put a post your team link up? Always a good read through the comments

  16. Canny says:

Played against Alex Witherden throughout my juniors. Always a class above. Really like him for SC this year but he's very pricey.

    • gordo29 says:

I currently have him in my team. Going light in def to start this year with him and Howe the only two pricey ones

    • leedy says:

I think you are on the money Canny. Looked composed and a cut above in his first year. I am backing him in too. As for Lekdog suggesting burn man Rich … he must be trolling!

    • Russty_ says:

Worth the price, he's going to be a premo.

  17. Lekdog says:

I’ll say this, we’ll get better. The recording studio will get better. We’ll try and make it our own. We love you all

  18. John says:

You will be better for the run Lekdog and patch we all believe in you

  19. Stirlsy says:

WTF Dribble Dribble Dribble was what I was expecting after reading the start of the lead in but no you guys make it very informative and well worth the listen.
Just be ya self and you wont go wrong very simple a bit of banter lov it, Good luck for the season ahead Guys.

    • Lekdog says:

Love you Stirlsy but we were comparing ourselves to giants of the game, appreciate your love

  20. Keefer says:

Great start boys. Onwards and upwards

  21. Goat says:

Great effort Lekdog and Patch. Looking forward to next week.

  22. Gazza says:

What about Harley Bennel at 260k

  23. jordanandeddie says:

Good stuff guys! Can never have too many Simpsons references or Texan vitriol.
    Keep up the good work!

  24. Baz says:

Aahhh that was good. Just listening to a supercoach podcast while experimenting with my side on the laptop was a soothing experience. It's how mid February should be spent.
The flame could of burned out after Jock, Higgo and Crouching left. But you guys said No, not on our watch. Well done lads keep it up

  25. WyldStallion says:

Really enjoyed the show Lek & Patch great stuff! Well researched and some excellent advice – very much looking forward to next weeks show.

  26. Heath says:

either both be in character or both be yourself.

  27. StevoRivo says:

Rapt to have the podcasts back. Good start Lek & Patch & welcome aboard. And no I am never picking burn man Rich again Lek. Thoughts on starting with Rayner, Doedee & Murray?

    • Lekdog says:

All seem feasible rookie selections…I’ll convince you on Rich just you watch

  28. The_Blacksheep says:

    Great debut Lekdog and Patch!

  29. CrackersFC says:

Terrific debut boys. Big shoes to fill and you both did a great job!
Seemed to be a difference in recording levels at the start of the podcast between the two voices but got better over time, or I just got used to it.
Great idea going club by club.
After Club by Club move to Line by Line
    Then a Rookies podcast
Maybe a JLT pod with wisdom gained from players moving clubs etc, what's changed.
Also a stats one. What would a team look like with most popular pick and how much would it cost. Interesting because there would be a lot of Guns and also a lot of rookies to offset.
Maybe something on strategy of the game GnRs vs Mid price madness esp in the FWD line.
For what it's worth there's my suggestions bots.
Looking forward to a great season.

  30. CrouchingHiding says:

Old Pyanmese saying "when the froth is gone and no more bubbles left it's time to empty the glass and get a freshy"

  31. Dice says:

Lek can you bring that fine piece of flesh we seen from last year on the podcast?
    Video would be much appreciated…

  32. INPieman says:

I had to get myself a new phone this morning. I was listening to the podcast & I heard Lek say he had Daniel Rich in his team. I threw my phone at a brick wall & when it hit the ground I kept stomping on it until it was obliterated. The only thing worse than having him in your team is watching him play. He wouldn't register a hard ball get at Auskick. Softest laziest prick I can remember. If I was in a room with Daniel Rich I'd give him the same treatment my phone got this morning

  33. TommyC99 says:

Thoughts on Zac Smith as a POD? Has a very good midfield to get some hit outs to advantage.

    • INPieman says:

Worth a thought. He could hit it anywhere & one of his midfielders would pick it up

    • Derek says:

If he was cheaper I’d consider, but $500k is premium. Same price as Gawn!

Will be good for a late draft pickup

      • TommyC99 says:

Which other ruckman would you pick Derek?

        • Derek says:

This could be the first year I go with 2 premium rucks from round 1.

At moment I have Ryder and Gawn, but the round 10 bye for Ryder is doing my head in.

          • Shake n bake says:

If your only missing 1 player from that rd 10 bye you’ll be totally fine!! He’ll become very important in the other bye rds. I had Ryder all year last season and am strongly considering him again this year.

            • TommyC99 says:

Yeah Ryder would be a lock for me if there was a ruck/fwd swing, but the fact there isnt means people will most likely have a 0

          • Have you a playing backup I have the same two with Cameron who may play Sinclair and Naismith his opponents

    • fcabel says:

They're all a punt. Keeping an eye on Hickey

    • Lekdog says:

Risky, just wait til champion data make Lobb a ruckman…they’ll do that right? Right!?

      • Whitey says:

Lobb may miss the start of the season…welcome Dawson.

        • Lekdog says:

Have an article on him in the works mate, could be a cash generator despite history being against him

    • Westy says:

Even though I'm probably biased (Geelong supporter) I've had the same thought too (but haven't got any of the Geelong mids in my team yet).

  34. fcabel says:

Casting of the pod = outstanding

  35. Bogan Juniors says:

Really enjoyed the podcast gents looking forward to the next installment.

  36. Gav says:

Great job boys, keep up the good work.

  37. hedski says:

I smell a cats premiership (aflx) tonight. Ha ha.

  38. Imgonnalose says:

Great stuff boys, was never gonna be easy! Can't wait for the year ahead bring it on!

  39. Love the work says:

Good on ya boys, like it, only thing I would say is it's a bit similar to Herald Sun podcasts if you don't go into character and I think a lot of people come here to get away from the Herald Sun garbage, not slandering though I like it so far keep it up!

  40. DavidSA says:

  41. Tyruddanaut says:

I think there needs to be more attempts at humour. It’s what Jock did so well, he made it more about the entertainment rather than the supercoach. Apart from that it’s fantastic insight

    • Tyruddanaut says:

I think some scripted parts/lines could help

      • Lekdog says:

We'll work towards our personalities but we don't want to just try and recreate what came before us, those men are infinitely more funny than us

        • dontblushbabbie says:

Exactly , be your own men, I personally prefer 95% SC and have fun with the other 5% imo

Cheers boys, thanks for taking on the previous good work done by Jock , onwards and upwards my friends in 18

        • Russty_ says:

I'd rather hear more facts and relevant info rather than humour or putting on fake voices, a bit of humour doesn't go astray though 🙂
Hey Lek…How come all three (Jock, Crouching, Higgo)…left at the same time?
The story of Jock 'returning to the land', Crouching 'getting his legs burned off by hostile natives' and Higgo caring for Crouching is all well and good, but what really happened?

          • Lekdog says:

That's their story to tell Rusty. If they want the world to know, they'll be in touch

        • Iamme says:

Just be yourselves boys, the chemistry between you will get better and better each week.

        • Finnius123 says:

To be honest I like it the way it is. It isn't forced – it's just two guys sitting around discussing supercoach with a bit of awkward humour in there. I love it – keep up the good work xxx

  42. Imgonnalose says:

Hey community, are there any rookie priced players playing tonight? I know it's not really like afl but would still like to watch them

    • Patch says:

Dooooooddddeeeeee looked very good. A few others looked good but to be honest I'm trying not to look into it too much

  43. Scott Brown says:

I am an past avid listener of this show and you boys have done a great job here. I love the fact that you have decided to focus on what is important…and that is the players and this beautiful creature known as Fantasy football. Keep it up boys…..LOVE IT 🙂

  44. The Flying Dutchman says:

After listening to the podcast I finally registered my team for 2018, it feels like the season preparations are now in full swing – great to read the comments from so many familiar community members.

Unless I have missed it, I have not yet seen any opinion aired on The Bont. I have this feeling he will bounce back this year and leap into the top 10. Anyone think the same? Or is he flying under the radar and shaping up as a very attractive pod?

    • Patch says:

Will cover him when we get to the Doggies – candidate for a player preview but no promises!

  45. AuroraBorealis?! says:

Excellent podcast boys, looking forward to the year ahead. Any chance you'll be making a rookie cheat sheet this season?

    • Patch says:

There is a chance indeed. Not locked in, but we're keeping it in the forefronts of our frontal lobe cortex thingies

  46. Post_MaSloane says:

Love the work as usual boys!

  47. Hooks says:

Great start fellas, I'm not so sure about Crouch as a lock, I had him from the start last year so this is coming from like his biggest fan but I see a plethora of options at this range like how can you go pass Martin, Kelly, Fyfe or even Selwood at 550ish without stacking Midfield Preemos, I do have him atm just playing devils advocate its a tough one.

  48. sc tragic says:

Well done guys. Will we see your cheat sheet this year Lek?

  49. Mike says:

Glad to see you are putting forth the effort – thank christ you weren't trying to be too funny.
    Make it your own, but…
Please buy a better mic fellas.

    • Lekdog says:

When Patchy boy is back home he'll have his mic and then we can stop trying to use mine for two people, it'll sort itself out

      • Hoot says:

Yeah mate that mic a priority… sounded like Patch was on the shitter.

        Great job though.

As Mike said, it has to be your own style or it will not work.

        Good luck.

        Go Blues!

        Can only improve from here

  50. IN KELLY OUT DUSTY Why? Only just read since 2008 only 1 B /F has increased their s c output. Based on this you can expect Dusty to drop. I read this fascinating data that changed my mind on DUSTY and what everyones talking about DEREK,S article on CHAMPION DATA,S scoring system at fantasysupercoach.com a must read

    • Russty_ says:

Dusty always drops, and regains, pick him up half way through the season.

  51. Rabbits16 says:

    nice work boys yee haa

  52. TOPHAWK1 says:

Hmmm. I like the look of James Worpel. Hard at the footy, tackles with intensity, and gets his hands on the footy.

    • petracca too tophawk looks in great nick as does Burton

      • TOPHAWK1 says:

Petracca is currently a starter in my side. He is ready to go bang in 2018! Well done on winning the AFL X grand final against my boys tonight…… Its a a piece of silverware for you boys…….. That X trophy looks more like a lump of wood mind you. Hehehe

        • Russty_ says:

They only won cause your lads cheated against the Saints, they must have cause no one could kick that many goals so quick lol

  53. Luke says:

I'm still struggling with this ''new dawn''. No disrespect to Lek and Patch. I admire them for taking on the responsibiltity. Well done guys. To Jock, Higgo and Crouching…thanks for all the memories and whilst listening to your podcasts over the years I'll always remember the laughs. You blokes are second to none and I'll long for your comeback… I always remember on a Tuesday night I'd be waiting for the podcast to be posted. Almost felt like I was sitting there with you magnificent specimens. Crawling out from the depths of supercoach wisdom

    • Russty_ says:

You'll, be ok, just know that things have changed now, and if you want to seek out the best, most informed Supercoach advice, you have to seek it out.
No Point being all sentimental about things in the past, after all , it's about being able to find out the best info regarding Supercoach for your team, Not about staying loyal to a Website, if it isn't the same website anymore.
The best research is your own research.

  54. Luke says:

The official death of Nanscrevice. Menapoo. I'm going through Menapause

  55. Luke says:

A massive thank you to all involved and your efforts goes unnoticed. Cheers fellas. And best of Luck to Jock, Higgo and Crouching one. What I'll miss most is Higgo's Quantam Team Mechanics!!! Is there any chance any of you 3 can do a phone call for the Podcast like Wayne used to do with his Hot Tip?

  56. Imgonnalose says:

Hey community, what do we think of Rory Sloane this year? I started with him last year and was rewarded handsomely, why is there no love for him this year? The tag?

  57. BobLybuster says:

You're still a liar Lek "The Jock Reynolds Podcasts are Back" where's Jock?

  58. Iamme says:

Nice to see the site active again, great 1st effort boys and things will only get better….when you lose the lame ass laugh track.

  59. nbasportsandnews says:

    HAHAHAHA the "no flog policy"

  60. Dangerwoodlett says:

    Great job fellas

  61. HaRRy says:

need to stop witht the fake laughter fellas and bad jokes. early days though so plenty of time to find ya feet! look forward to your future podcasts. very informative and applaud you guys on all yas have. lets have a good 2018!!
