  1. Tommo09 says:

    Need a mid under 496k
    Who should I pick?

    • jockreynolds says:

Gday Tommo! We chat about this in this weeks podcast mate, I like Menegola with Selwood out for the season & Duncan gone this week

    • Mgrosso says:

Tommo09 I've liked the look of Dayne Beams over the last few rounds. He's been trying to pump up the lion cubs of the club and has averaged 115 over the last 3. He would be ur best option in my opinion

    • ahmad rubas says:

      treloar or jpk if back

    • ProTravo says:

I like Hannerbery. Most are overloooking him because of his underwhelming season, but he played well last week and has two easy games against Carlton and Freo at the SCG in the last three games of the season which I think he'll score well in and could be huge if you are in finals.

  2. Josh Kelly says:

I've got 1 trade left with 3.1k in the bank, I'm playing in a semi final this week.
I've got Brodie Grundy out for 2 weeks and Tom Lynch out for the season.

I'm thinking of using my last trade on Tom Lynch to get in Nankervis, to avoid the Brodie Grundy donut via Strnadica.

    What are everyone's thoughts?

    • Tyruddanaut says:

If he's all you can afford then do it. Don't expect too much from him

    • ahmad rubas says:

well with 3.1k in the bank no other options are there?

    • B rian says:

What about trading in Gawn for grundy. You are holding grundy for just one week of scoring, But Gawn will easily outscore nank. Have you any cover in the forwards? If not then you will have a donut for the next 2 weeks anyway
Getting Gawn gives you more chance of getting the the grand final and anything can happen then.

    • redherringfc says:

Any chance you have a mid/fwd on field in the mids? Maybe Witherden or Greenwood.

If you do, then grab Rocky.

  3. Rorzizzle says:

Need to replace Jelwood, can afford anyone. Currently have: danger, zorko, fyfe, sloane bont, r.gray, z.merrit (will swing t.adams into the guts to cover merrit this week) – tossing up between dusty or tom mitchell.. they are the obvious choices, i'm learning towards mitchell as i reckon scott selwood will tag dusty and the cats will stir the sh!t out of him this week. Thoughts? Thanks guys.

    • Tyruddanaut says:

I'd look at Kelly too but Tom Mitchell is hard to go past if you don't already have him

    • 63200406113093 says:

Lachie Neale could be the man?

    • Billioux says:

Coniglio for me. In 0.2% of teams. Can play numerous roles and still score 100 +. ultimate POD.

    • bUCKET__ says:

Not sure you've seen people try to tag Dusty lately (hint, it doesn't usually work)

As an Eagles fan, I am still scarred by the attempted Scooter-on-Dusty tags that inevitably see him rack up 30+ and a couple of snags.

But Titch is a beast this year! Not much separating them from a SC perspective.

    • ahmad rubas says:

      titch or dusty

  4. Tyruddanaut says:

Haven't heard the podcast yet, but can't wait to! I need severe selection help this week with Grundy, Selwood and apparently Lynch out. Aye, aye, aye. I'm facing a donut in the ruck for two more weeks or I am without a trade and injured English as my backup.

So community, in order, who should I bench out of Dixon, Greenwood, Ryan or Lloyd? My other option is Sharenberg but I think I will use him for loophole purposes at best.

  5. Sambillbombers says:

Ryan on the field or Lloyd

  6. Tyruddanaut says:

Actually, I can't find anything on Tom Lynch. What's the source?

    • Stirlsy says:

PCL suffered on w/end his goneski for year

    • NovemberFoxtrotIndia says:

GOLD Coast's season has taken another hit with star forward Tom Lynch to miss the final three matches of the year.

Lynch suffered an injury to the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee against Fremantle on Saturday night and has been ruled out for remainder of the season.

The 2016 All Australian has played sore for much of the year, and despite being below his best, has kicked 44 goals.

Lynch was at Gold Coast headquarters on Tuesday morning with the rest of the playing group to be told of the sacking of coach Rodney Eade.

His right knee was heavily strapped.

The Suns have a lengthy injury list ahead of Saturday's QClash against the Brisbane Lions, with the likes of David Swallow, Jarrod Witts, Jarryd Lyons and Callum Ah Chee all facing fitness tests.

  7. CrackersFC says:

Very excited just saw that I'm sitting at 12 (439 overall) in the JR Community!
Thanks Jock, Crouching, Peter and the community.

  8. Stirlsy says:

No trades, up shyt creek lost the paddle Jel Zerrett and the one i hoped would cover 1 of them Witheryman playing 19 it looks like.
Just gotta hope my 2 opponents haven't got trades or cover either, as they look like they will be missing 2 each at least.
Not great for the 2 semi's this week.

    • hedski says:

I'm there treading water wit ya Stirlsy, no trades, Jelwood Zerrett Mummy Witherden Lynch out, Rooey iffy, Junker Strnadica Cousins on the bench doin sweet FA. Need both of Bolton and Deluca to get a gig this week. Not holding my breath for long….I can see a light, feeling calm.
      DS keeping me alive now.

      • SC_Kev7 says:

Having a look over this weeks contest now hedski and I'm struggling to find many value selections. Keen to see Higgo's take on things

  9. Crow says:

Splendid news guys with the suspensions.
Teams officially on the brink with me having a week off in my 1st league and having to play a semi final, i was hoping that i'd win both because i knew the carnage this week was going to show but just missed out. So if anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated.
DEF : Docherty, Adams, Laird, Howe, Lloyd, Shaw (Ryan, O'Connor)
MID : Dangerfield, Martin, Duncan, Merrett, Bont, Ross, Rockliff, Kelly, (Witherden, Bolton, Cousins)
    RK: Gawn, Martin (English)
Fwd : Yeo, Dahlhaus, Macrae, Nankervis, Greene, Heeney (Parsons, Strnadica)
    1 Trade 21k.
My opponent somehow avoided all the carnage, so will have a full team heading into the this week so i've decided on 2 things
1: Swing Dahl into the middle for Bolton if he doesn't play, Put Duncan on bench, Put Parsons on the ground for Bolton, but problem is that if Witherden doesn't play, im down 1 man (Merrett) So as much as i don't want to, i might have to trade Merrett if Witherden doesn't play. or
2: Keep the trade for the league i won in and have the week off and just roll the dice and hope that my players actually play out of their skin and that my opponents team has an off week.

    • SC_Kev7 says:

You can field a full team this week by doing the Dahl/Bolton swing, playing Parsons, and by swinging Lloyd/Witherden, playing Ryan

      • Stirlsy says:

        Yep that's an easy fix.

      • FEARTHEBEARD says:

        SC_Kev7

Thanks for reminding me of this. Just did it with Taylor Adams & Witherdan. Put Adams on field in the mids and Ryan in the ds.

        Cheers mate!

        • SC_Kev7 says:

No worries! The importance of swings in the spotlight with the rubbish that's been heaped on us this week

  10. TigerNut says:

Rolling the dice on Oliver Wines to Clayton Oliver. is this crazy or should I spend the $120k elsewhere

    • Don't Blush Baby says:

So Tiger you have 6 trades to burn ? I would have that you might have other issues to worry about like most of us ? Good luck if you don't

  11. Jess says:

3 Trades – 20k. Scraped through my elimination and now when all should be good, Jelwood and Merrett out!
Can someone help me set up my time for maximum return? Have tried to set up as is before trades
Hibberd (melb), Doch, Newman, Tuohy, Ryan, Adams (Hibberd – Nth, Shaw)
Danger, Sloane, Dusty, Neale, Fyfe, Bont, Greenwood, Witherden, (Jelwood, Merrett, Cousins)
    Gawn, Martin (Strnadica)
Dahl, Nank, Macrae, Buddy, Lynch, Ryder (Eddy, Young)

    • Jayd says:

Basically you need to trade out Jelwood and Lynch since they are out for the season. Leaving you with 903 to get two players of your choice. No use having two donuts for the season GL

    • redherringfc says:

As Jayd said, Jelwood and Lynch out. Swing Greenwood forward, get Rocky for 377k -buy of the season. (also a risk, but if he gets his mojo back he pumps out huge scores)

leaves you a good chunk of cash for another mid, maybe Parker or Treloar. Hanners is only 460k, but not scoring well.

    • Randomcliche2 says:

      Rocky and R Gray

    • B rian says:

As the others have said, bring in the 2 best players you can for Jelwood and Lynch.
Then put the E on Shaw. If you like his score on fri night then sub Witherden with Adams which will get you Shaws score and give you another option in the mids. you can probably set up another loop here using cousins.
      Good luck

  12. B rian says:

    Hi all,
Im in to the the prelims in both of my cash leagues and have 3 trades left and 33k in the bank. My question is do I make a trade this week with the idea of having my team cherry ripe for the prelims, or hold off this week meaning I can only make 2 trades the following week and have 1 trade left for a potential grand final.
Im leaning towards trading this week, but the danger is that the player I bring in gets injured or suspended or rested. I have jelwood, lynch and witherden to deal with. Im thinking of bringing in either JJK or billings for jelwood this week. Then bringing in a mid the following week.
    Interested to hear peoples thoughts

    • SC_Kev7 says:

Congrats on the prelims mate. I'd put my feet up this week, as you say, you'd hate to see JJK/Billings get rubbed out/injured this week.

    • The Ranger says:

Wait until we hear how long Witherden is out for.
He might be back in time for the granny and a DPP player that can ton up is bloody handy.

    • Randomcliche2 says:

I'd fix one this week (Jelwood to R Gray), you are more likely to catch another injury or suspension to your team than have that one new player injured…

    • B rian says:

Thanks for the suggestions. I tend to agree with you Random. One change this week gives me the best chance to make the final where im guaranteed a pay cheque.
As for Witherden, Il be keeping him as a non playing looper if I can. Chances are ill pick up another injury or suspension next week anyway, hopefully its not the bloke I trade in this week. probably Billings

  13. Joshua says:

Week off in all my leagues but gonna have to cover Lynch with Greenwood, witherden with Lloyd possibly the rest of finals and gotta trade Selwood to neale this week also, will then have one trade left for prelim or granny. Won't have a lot of money in the bank tho so the trade will probably be for an injury or last roll of the dice if i look defeated (mid price forward with a favourable game for example)

  14. GaryR says:

What are people s thoughts I have 2 trades left am through to the prem final next so no oppenent this week but am currently ranked 495. I have Joel Selwood and grundy with no ruck cover but do have cover for Selwood should I trade grundy this week and Selwood next to try and max score for rank or any other suggestions?

    • SC_Kev7 says:

You shooting for overall or league glory, Gary? Should clear things up for you

      • GaryR says:

Hi Kev with two trades and Grundy, Selwood problem most likely will try to win league but hoping to keep rank as high as possible?

        • SC_Kev7 says:

I reckon with all the outs this week of popular guys those that have gone hard will struggle to field a full team. Stick with your plan to trade Grundy and have a full team on the park.

  15. Doc says:

Have one last trade (Jelwood out).
Can bring in any forward, mid or def under 494k.

Thinking Billings, Menegola, Beams or even Luke Ryan.
    Thoughts ?

    • bUCKET__ says:

Depends on how loaded you are in all four of your lines, Doc.

Billings with DPP if you're playing for league and short on coverage. Go a mid if going for rank!

Considering Beams too with same last trade but unsure if he'll last three games.

  16. Pete says:

    sittn 260th ,
600 pts off top 10 which pays $1000
    3 trades left
    $60k bank
week off in all 10 SC finals
    selwood to Sloane ??
or double trade selwood n witherden n get a zorko or neale ??

  17. Rivo says:

No trades left but swing sets to get me through the weekends final…just. Carnage – Carrying Jelwood, Witherden, Cousins & Lynch (GC) on the bench.

So here's to another roll for luck…

    1. Lloyd to M8, Witherden to D8 bench. Ryan to D6 with Scharenberg at D7.

    2. Greenwood to F5, Bolton M9 (bench), Young to F6 to cover for Lynch (GC). Danger back to M1.

That's all before late outs. What a season.

    Good luck Community.

  18. bUCKET__ says:

Wonder if Hinkley has remembered how good Gray is in the guts? Surely he stays there for the rest of the year, he's only bloke who worked his heart out for Port last week.

I'd be goin Jelwood -> Gray in a heartbeat, if Wingard wasn't due back in. Makes his role a bit iffy

  19. iLoveNMFC says:

Best options for Selwood under 489k? Didn't leave enough in the bank for Sloane and season is going down the drain… I'm thinking JJK or Roberton through DPP or Gibbs/Rocky/Whitfield?

  20. Jacko says:

Can a commentator please mention Jackson Macrae and that he is in all Australian contention. He is a deadset gun and been so consistent for all of us.

  21. Lazza says:

Dilemma … have Jelwood and 1 trade and enough cash to choose anyone from Oliver down. I'm in 4 Prelims. Ordinarily I would hold my trade until the Prelim in case of more injuries/suspensions. The dilemma is that my likely opponents in the Prelim and the GF have Oliver. I have plenty of PODs compared to them, but wanted to neutralise Olivers score. Oliver will be out of reach after this round. So do I hold the trade and get any of Neale, Bont, Zorko or Parker the following week. Or bite the bullett?
Logic is telling me holding the trade is better option compared to the potential score differences with Oliver.

    • Rocksta says:

Given the carnage and suspensions in the last couple of weeks, I'd hold on to that trade. I'm assuming your potential opponents in the prelims have issues to deal with this week and as such will need to use trades.
If you don't get Oliver, you'll still have plenty of good players to choose from. You may even find that some of your opponents won't have any trades come next week and thus potentially be incurring Donuts.

    • The Ranger says:

      Yeah you gotta hold Lazza

  22. Reillz says:

Who to bring in for JSelwood beams or Gibbs

    • Joshua says:

      Beams

    • The Ranger says:

Depends how many trades you have left.
Don't bring in a Beams/Rocky type that are injury prone at this stage of the season unless you have trades to burn.

    • INPieman says:

The issue with Gibbs is taggers. He could face the triple H threat. Hutchings Howe & Hewett in his last 3 games. All do good tagging jobs

      • Cogla13 says:

Gibbs should go to Adelaide. Teams won't tag both him and Sloan so one will be able to run free.

  23. Winter says:

    Kelly or Zorko

  24. WightysWarriors says:

Both Selwoods have killed me this year. Knockout this week..two trades and $1.7k after getting Macrae as "final prem" week 1 of finals and two trades left…so I thought. Gibbs looks best option if one trade for Jwood. Other option is any of durdin, fisher, white (port) for cash downgrade, freeing up cash for either titch or Dusty. Would have no trades left though. Thoughts would be appreciated.

    • Lazza says:

I'd be more inclined to go for Will Hayward or Brennan Cox (DPP) for cash down grade … better scoring and JS.

      • WightysWarriors says:

Thanks Lazza…I have cover on every line so whoever comes in also sits on the bench. Maynard is dpp and gives me cash to get anyone I want. Will look at your options cash wise though as any further further disasters will need pts generation from whoever I bring in.

    • The Ranger says:

I'd strongly recommend you hold one trade Wighty.
Players are dropping like flies at the moment.

  25. WightysWarriors says:

I have bench cover though Witherden if out complicates things. I'm thinking use em or lose em at the moment. hate to lose by 30-40 and gibbs 100 with titch or martin 130+ Oppt has Jwood too.

  26. Corey says:

My season is cooked with Selwood, Witherden, Lynch, Mumford and Merret Out and 2 Trades left

    • The Ranger says:

At least Mummy and Merrett are gonna come back Corey, Witherden might too.
Trade Lynch and Selwood and pray like hell mate!

  27. Rick Grimes says:

No nursery rhyme this week! Still good times, thanks lads.

Got one trade left, need to rid myself of the horrific undie stain that is Tom Lynch. Possibly looking at Prestia or Acres for a bit of a POD. Both in teams with plenty to play for. Was impressed with Acres in the weekend, was into everything. Or could go for Rocky and hope he blasts a mammoth one across the collective chests of our SC community.

  28. The Ranger says:

Nice casting of the POD gents thanks. Got you in a Semi this week Jock so good luck mate.

I'm thinking I might have to keep Grundy as I also have Selwood, Lynch and Witherden out and only three trades.
At least Grundy will be back for the GF and Ryder can cover for him.
Selwood – Menegola and Lynch – Greene for me. Today at least.
It wouldn't surprise me if the SC Gods have still got a few more thunderbolts to hurl at us yet…

  29. Rick Grimes says:

Was just doing some sums. Fyfe while I owned him to round 15, averaged 98. Since I sold him, 126.

His replacement, Merrett, to round 15 averaged 114, after I purchased him, 97. Baaahahaha

That one really hurts. My bad tho, Fyfe is life.

  30. INPieman says:

Add witts to the scrap heap. Done for the season. Still in 16% teams

  31. oscar says:

how long is witherden out for

  32. Stinga says:

Who to bring in to replace Merrett community.

Zorko, Kelly, Bont, Fyfe, Neale or Adams?

  33. Dojo_Warrior says:

Absolute carnage! Last week I copped Witts and Cameron, now Selwood, Grundy, Merrett, Witherden and Lynch.

Last week went Witts to Gawn and Cameron to Ryder, which has left me with 1 trade and a whopping $700. Just scraped through into this week of finals by 9 points.

This weeks match is looking close, however is a possibility for me to win. My options to move forward:

    a) Selwood > Hanners, leaving me with 2 donuts for the rest of the year in Grundy and Lynch, with SPP playing in my midfield this week, before being benched for Merrett should I get through

    b) Grundy > Jacobs, leaving me with the Selwood and Lynch donut this week, however should I get through to next week I will be looking at only the Lynch donut with SPP covering.

I'm thinking B seems like the way to go, however either way I'm sure I'll get an extra handful of outs next week!

  34. The Ranger says:

Be interesting to watch how this carnage plays out at the top of the overall rankings.
The Big Kabosh is in the hot seat and only has Merrett and Witherden out with a 419pt lead.
Tyrannosaurus Tex in 2nd place has Merrett, Grundy, Selwood, Lynch and Witherden to deal with. Ouch.
The Hyphen in 3rd has Selwood and Grundy out and Aydan in 4th seems to have avoided all the outs but had Glass onfield last week so must have some issues.
After those four there's a bit of a gap but it could all change at this rate.
Leader of the JR Community Group Hutto's Hitmen is in 12th and will probably have to pull out some mighty scores to win it but good luck to ya Hutto!

    • Derek says:

i remember last years winner came from no-where in the last weeks to win

      • neil Demons Delight says:

Roos 197 helped him maybe again He also was down to 1 trade early great effort wonder how he is going this year

        • INPieman says:

Round 23 he used his last trade. He traded Slaone to Treloar who scored 150 in the final round (Sloane was suspended). And NRoo went 190+ who he grabbed a few weeks earlier. Giant Killers knocked over poor Shemmist by a handful of points at the end & came from the clouds

          • INPieman says:

For what its worth Giants Killers (Graeme) is ranked 20k & Shemmist Warehouse (Shemm) is ranked 15k. Backing it up year after year is impossible. Believe me I've learnt that the hard way. I haven't challenged for the title but I have been within striking distance a few times only for it to all go pear shaped. Supercoach should be renamed to "The Murphy's Law Game". And all you can do is bank knowledge from the failures & pray for luck

            • The Ranger says:

Thanks Pieman. I wondered how Shemm was doing, haven't seen or heard from him this year.
He got bloody close to it last year, Treloar and Rooey did for him in the end which no one would have seen coming.

  35. Ole United says:

    love some advice community!

2 trades left, is it a waste going merret and witherden to danger + a mid/fwd sub 300k?

rest of my team is playing this week… so far, also playing for league not rank.

    Thanks!

  36. pieinghigh says:

    I am thinking of trading:
    S Martin > Gawn and Jelwood > R Gray

I just don't think my current team is good enough with Martin in it to win my league overall.

If i wait another week I will not have the cash to get Gawn.

This leaves me with no trades, Scooter/Shuey at M8/M9, no defensive cover as witherden is injured and Greenwood/higgins as cover in the forwards.

Worth rolling the dice on S Martin > Gawn? I reckon I might be gooone if I don't…

  37. neil Demons Delight says:

Obvious lower clubs will mothball players and carnage will happen late in the year but is this year the worst. just goes to show the value of all trades

    • INPieman says:

Trades are more important this year than last Neil. The recent carnage has been ridiculous

  38. Jono says:

    Trading out Lynch and Selwood
Option one: in danger and non playing dpp
Option two: in Hurley and rocky. Will loophole rocky and Lloyd. Lloyd on field in option 1

  39. Steeeve says:

Seriously what is wrong with the Gold Coast medical staff? You'd think with all the coin the AFL has thrown at that place, even though about 200 people on the Gold Coast actually want an AFL team (and they're all visiting), they could afford some proper trainers.
Gold Coast has been a huge swing and a miss so far. There is time to fix it, but what a disappointment. And it's only going to get worse because if I was a veteran looking for a club to join (and lord knows they need a few decent veterans up there) I'd avoid the place at all costs.
Current injury list has 16 players and most are clear best-22 players for the Suns. Some are freak accidents but even then the management has been terrible. Jaeger's career is almost cooked. Swallow not far behind. Lynch now done for the season and they say he's been sore for ages. WELL THEN FIX HIM. YOU'RE NOT MAKING THE EIGHT ANYWAY!

    • INPieman says:

When they said to Rocket your inheriting a shit sandwich were they referring to the players or staff? Clearly the AFL was too busy casting there eyes over the Giants

      • neil Demons Delight says:

what kind of coach do you need for a shit sandwich club Think I know one gonna be available soon perfect fit

    • Rick Grimes says:

I blame Rocket. Doesn't know how to work with young players. The team doesn't play for each other. Gaz as much as I love him is probably not great for the culture. He doesn't want to be there. They don't need more veterans just clipping their ticket.

  40. Whats up with Rocky? says:

    What's everyone's thoughts on Rockcliff?
His SC scores of late look very average. Is he injured, he's still averaging 6 tackles but possessions down alot.
Can he score big this weekend againfs GC?
If I trade in allows me to FINALLY grab Docherty for Shaw next weekend.
Cheers for your replies in advance.

    • Randomcliche2 says:

Me and Rocky have had a supercoach marriage for the ages. But he is going through a rough patch that all we can do there is to support him through it, I'm not convinced I'm finished supporting him through these rough times yet.

    • B rian says:

He is a good option at the price if you can loophole him, but if he is onfield then I would pass until we see another good performance

  41. CheekyNandos says:

Got Selwood, Lynch and Grundy out and I have Witherden/Maynard, Ryder (through Strn DPP) and Greenwood as cover. My question is which two should I trade (if i should trade at all) and who should i get in? Have $128k and 2 trades.

DEF: Doch, Adams, Laird, Simmo, Lloyd, Rance – Ryan,Schaz

MID: Dusty, Titch, Oliver, MCrouch, Macrae, Fyfe, Selwood, Treloar – Witherden,Cousins,Maynard

    RUCK: Martin, Grundy – Strnadica

FWD: Yeo, Dahl, Ryder, Franklin, TJLynch, JJK – Greenwood, Keilty

    Thanks in advance community :-)

  42. TOPHAWK1 says:

Tom Rockliff……………….. That is how you spell his name OK!

Rockcliff, Rockcliffe, Rokcliffe. Bloody hell, it gives me the scheitz!

Now, listen up community. Rocky is coming good. If you have a trade or two left, seriously look at him this week. At his current price and his ability, the bloke can win you a big f

  43. AuroraBorealis?! says:

I've got both Selwood and Merrett. This week im trading Selwood to Neale but i've decided to hold Merrett, instead im using my second trade on Witherden to Rockliff.

  44. Choice says:

You pretty much had to go against the grain on everything you had learnt over the years with super coach to be successful this year.
I hope this year is just an anomaly or it's a case of severe turnover the likes most could not fathom. So many popular and great players from over the years just gone in one single season.
    2017, just crazy.

  45. Noah says:

who should i loophole with danger ? macrae or oliver

  46. Paul says:

Trading Merrett and Selwood this week, have 1.088m in the kitty. Thinking of going for Mitchell and Gibbs, any other good options out there? Could go Dusty instead of Mitchell, or am I better off getting 2 mids around 550k?

  47. JohndJames says:

I know this isn't SC related but I always thought that the season was too long, and with all the injuries happening just proves the players bodies are agreeing with me,every team should just play each other once and rotate the home ground advantage each year.

    • Randomcliche2 says:

Clubs have a pretty big incentive to keep players uninjured…but some make stupid decisions…just this week we saw a player continue to play on with pain killers at sig risk and another one who hasn't been afforded the chance of a proper rehab…I don't think it's the bodies but the culture and advice.

    • neil Demons Delight says:

Seems to me when we had the under 19s as well as the reserves this wasn't a problem I can recall the dees selecting 6 in one year boys under 18 this took pressure off the list because champions like LYON AND WATSON appeared even at age 16 and could be relied on

  48. Randomcliche2 says:

Oh and Gaz says nah I don't wanna play this week, gotta wash my hair….

  49. Chief says:

    Selwood to Sloane or Murphy?

    Can afford anyone under $518k

  50. JDP says:

Would love to hear thoughts on Gibbs V Hanners for my last trade

    Any feedback appreciated

    • Rick Grimes says:

Hanners less likely to be hindered by a tag. But he is equally frustrating. Has looked a bit sharper last couple of weeks mind you.

  51. iLoveNMFC says:

    Gibbs or Rockliff for Selwood?

  52. BigBadBustling says:

Through to the Prelim in my league with three trades left up my sleeve so this week isn't a worry for me although a few issues about the coming weeks.
I have Selwood and Grundy who need to be traded but no cash in the bank.
Thinking of trading Scharenberg to a rookie (possibly Max Spencer, $102,400) to free up some cash and going Selwood > Mitchell, Grundy > Kreuzer next week. I have Luke Ryan as bench cover down back.
This would leave me with no trades if I do happen to win my Prelim but cop an injury.
    Wise move?

    • Rick Grimes says:

Got to risk it for the biscuit. Those trade up options look good. If you have at least one player to cover on each line, should be fine. Emphasis on should…

  53. Northerner says:

Spencer will play rest of year so he's a good cover option.

However, trade to give yourself bench cover on all lines and look to max DPP flexibility.

  54. Dean Swan says:

Carnage! Selwood, Grundy, Zerrett, Lynch, Witherden and possibly JPK out.

I need the communities wisdom to deploy my last 2 trades!

Option 1. Selwood and Grundy – Neale (or anyone except Dusty, Titch and M.Crouch) and Kreuzer. (already have Gawn).
    Option 2. Selwood and Grundy – T. Mitchell / M.Crouch and P Ryder.
    Option 3. Selwood and Lynch – T. Mitchell / M.Crouch and JJK.

    Help!

  55. Greg says:

Dusty v Mitchell, which one to go with? Mitchell POD against my opponent but could also be handy to have Dusty to cancel each other out.

    • Rick Grimes says:

Dusty is the one that could really hurt you. Mitchell is doc solid but probably good for 125 most days. Dusty with a spring in his step is a 170 player.

  56. neil Demons Delight says:

looking back on my trades makes me shudder.Eleven unnecessary trades. I traded newman in 3 times and more ridiculous got him in 9 and out in 10. Admittedlly some trades were wrong personnel but at least 8 were totally totally crazy. I took a leaf out of 2016 winner who traded aggressively pre byes with good dpps then a lot of luck post byes he won . I had a great team after the byes on top in many leagues but down to 3 trades r14 when most had 9 or 10 .. I didnt trade for 5 weeks but it caught up with me as players got deleted for whatever. I had no trades on top in finals Shake had 6 he killed me when danger etc went missing The conclusion for next year is obvious.

    • Shake n bake says:

I have Selwood Merrett Mummy Lynch Witherden all out this week and l have 4 trades left and 480k in the kitty and most likely even when l do 2 trades l will still be1 short! Unless port either bring in Eddy or Atley or Hawks give Cousins another crack. Can't believe my luck! I think come finals time if you're lucky enough to save trades it should be like bye rds and have 3 trades to use!!

    • Russty_ says:

Hey Neil, as much as I was an advocate of hanging onto trades for the finals I'm now down to none having made my last one this week getting rid of Selwood.
I have a full team to field but the rest of the finals are in the Supercoach God's hands for me.
I think this year's been different from most in the past in that we've all had to burn so many trades just on injuries.

It was super difficult to have a strategy this year that didn't end up getting thrown out the window…now I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy whatever happens, win or lose, and look forward to less carnage next season, hopefully!

      • neil Demons Delight says:

Hi Russty would you have made finals if you conserved more .I am sure I would have just and now I could beef my team up but hey mate I am still there like you zero left but suspect my opponents are low also Got a break this week so they may loses more or I might cheers

        • Rick Grimes says:

I traded aggressively early on and for the most part had luck. But down to 1 trade this week and my team looks weak against others. My rank is better but I'm petering out. Just throws up so many questions going into next season. This one has been fascinating, but I reckon next year will be a real head scratcher.

  57. Nicko says:

    is swollow back

  58. Cogla13 says:

    Ablett is confirmed out.

    • The Ranger says:

Grrr…sorry Little Master but that's you added to the never again list…
Adams into the mids, Newman onfield, running out of premos now…

      • Russty_ says:

Yeah agree Ranger, thanks for your service Gazza but…never again. Sad how age catches up with the best of champions.

  59. ian says:

Doing my head in. No cash but two trades. Oppt and I both have jwood as only prem out…dodged bullets both of us. So, Swood to Gibbs and keep a trade, or downgrade Witherden to say a Maynard (melb) with dpp, and get Martin or Neale ? That would leave no trades, cover on every line, and nank as ruck switch if needed. Thoughts ?

    • Devrstated says:

Been doing the algoraythmics myself Ian. How about jwood to rocky then switch witherden and adams. Then trade witherden for Williams/McVeigh/Rance. Almost two prems for one !!

    • Randomcliche2 says:

Jelwood to scooter/rocky. Upgrade witherden or hold the trade depending on how your other lines look.
