  1. bob the builder says:

Is Heeney overpriced now at 490k?
Never averaged more than 80 not sure he can keep this output up.
Its either him or Stef Martin for Butler
    Thoughts?

    • Sana says:

He's young bob. Reckon he's on the up. Plays out of the middle, plenty of pill, kicks a goal here and there, exactly what you want for consistent SC points

      • Wedge says:

Exceptional mark also. But is still very young. So I expect a few real quiet games having to compete with the gun Swans mids but he will make it up with some massive games.

    • Benjamin B says:

Hes a gun, if it worked better for bye structure i would of grabbed him last weekend

    • pod says:

I can not wait to get Heeney, star written all over him.

    • Top Gun says:

I've brought him in this week. Swans on the way up again, good draw. Midfield time. Tick, tick, tick and a low BE.

  2. Good says:

    Is Durdin worth getting

  3. Steeeve says:

My plan to pick off JPK or Cripps after their bye has taken an expensive turn… I really hope one of them (or Docherty) has a quiet game this week.

  4. Benjamin B says:

If i trade for Merrett and Myers this week ill only have 16 trades left… but ill be 5 away from full premium.

Is that too many trades used?

    • luskin Star says:

I would go for it. You should have 4 trades left after full premo. you are gambling that you wont have 5 injuries. I think the reward of getting to full premo outweighs the risk of that.

    • redherringfc says:

are you trading out players who have maxed out or need to go? If yes, then go for it.

    • Tyruddanaut says:

I'm in a similar situation this week and that's what I'm doing. I have 17 trades, 4 til full premo and that should leave me with plenty left

    • Doggy says:

I'll be at 17 trades left with 4 spots to fill. Although don't have any rookies that will get to $300 except for Newman and spp. So if I want uber premos, I'll need to go 2 down 1 up. Already brought in some value picks and need some point scorers for my last spots.

  5. jimbo says:

I think you guys should stop living in the past. The future is with players like Kelly, Mitchell and Oliver. These are the new premiums, forget Priddis, pendles etc lol.

    • pod says:

I'm not sure about forgetting Priddis, Pendles etc, you might as well stop coaching. A combination of young guns and proven stars will be the winning formula. : )

    • DaFuture says:

      Spot on Jimbo

    • whatyasmokin says:

Agreed, that's why I started with Oliver, Steele, Marchbank and WHE. Had Kelly in my team but tried my luck with George Horlin Smith instead.

Mitchell wasn't really a bargain either but he could find a spot in my final team as his price hasn't changed.

    • Derek says:

They are definitely emerging. But there are plenty of other young guns who are not. Easy to pick out the ones going well, what about Wines, Crouch, Libba, Hall, Gaff, Billings, Caddy, Lynch………

We will know who the new guns are at the end of the season, not 8 weeks in

      • Kyle says:

I wouldnt say lynch is playing terrible mate. Started the year at only 500k. He is still averaging 90 and thats gonna improve over the year. Hes a top 6-8 forward for mine still

  6. Jim says:

What should I do with Hannan, Butler, Hampton and Parfitt? Only got 30k left and my

  7. DavidSA says:

    @ Derek
    You prefer this

    Barrett > Myers
Marchbank > Oliver by swinging Adams from mid to back line.

  8. Thomas says:

Thoughts on bringing in Mutimer, Durdin, Lloyd or Mciness this week? Needing to double downgrade and already bringing in Myers

  9. Rivo says:

Weekly thereapy delivered, thanks Jock. I nearly turfed in the season after Sunday's mess.

Your podcast made me rethink the bye dilemma. With 20 trades and $169k, I've narrowed it down to 4 options. Trying to offload Houston, Hampton, etc but think option 1 or 2 is the best path. Any feedback welcome…..

    1. SPP & Houston to Heeney & Myers;
    2. Fisher & Houston to Heeney & Myers (keep SPP);
    3. Houston & SPP to Bont & McInnes;
    4. Hampton & Fisher to Macrae/Yeo & McInnes

    • pod says:

      2. looks good

      • Rivo says:

Thanks pod. Might not give me any cash but worth holding SPP for the byes IMO.

        • Derek says:

i think SPP has another big score in him. plays a good role with port and on his day i think we might see 100+

          • Rivo says:

            Agreee Derek.
Another option I'm considering is where Butler is dropped..

Houston & Butler to Heeney & Myers.

To do this means I lose DPP swing moving Pickett to forward bench alongside Eddy (asleeep on the bench). It also means fielding Parsons & Balic – which make me nervous.

Then there is the decision on which bench mid to field at M8 – Barrett or Myers. Pain everywhere.

            • Derek says:

i've been looking at Heeney. not sure he is cheap enough, plus i've got max number of round 11 byes for now. i know he will be a great player but paying just under $500k seems alot. i know plenty of the guys at the swans academy, they all say he will be a gun, but they all say that Mills is better. i still believe that Mills will push into the midfield more and more during the year, especially when Rampe is back. Will affect Henney.

              • Rivo says:

Maybe so but missed him last week and won't do that again. Pretty confident he will finish Top 6 Fwd and his price will hit $550 quickly.

                • Brett H says:

Don't think Balic will play this week, so this may influence your trades.

Apparently Balic was not sighted at training today (and Hill & Ballantyne trained flat out).

Will be a real shame for my team if Balic doesn't play, but starting to set myself for this happening.

  10. Sassy says:

ROCKLIFF OUT 2-3. Sassy Foods has issues

    • Paco says:

congrats on the rank Sassy, just had a check

    • INPieman says:

The third week is his bye. That needs to be taken into account. But how will he be with that shoulder coming back. Think strapped up orange hatted Gary. Would make me nervous. Personally I'd get rid of him if your ok for trades

  11. Becks says:

Time to drop the crouching one Jock..

We come on here to listen to SC podcast not Jennifer Hawkins & effin Myers.

Thoughts on Burton (Hawks), great job security now with injuries and scoring quite well.

    • Named says:

      Speak for yourself

    • Saundo says:

      Crouching is a legend, welcome!

    • lok says:

Mate.. Crouching is the analogy prince. Don't hate.

    • KSinny says:

I listen to the podcast for crouching one

    • INPieman says:

Listen harder Becks. His message is Myers is no sure thing to make you satisfied. And whilst he might be the best rookie option this week I agree with Crouching. People seem to think he will fly to 400K & make an easy upgrade. I don't thing he will get even close. I see him as cover only if I trade him in. If he has some great games that's a bonus

      • whatyasmokin says:

I'm getting Lloyd instead of Myers.

        • beezneez says:

Waiting for the bubble round 10 – anything could happen between then and now. My plan is to get Myers this week and Lloyd next week to get the players I want who have the round 11 bye and to add to my 13 playing in round 13 atm.

          • beezneez says:

Should have clarified the players I want having the round 11 bye to be picked up in round 12.

    • Derek says:

      You made me angry

    • Tyruddanaut says:

I love crouching one and want to die listening to his voice

    • Moustachio says:

      Sit down idiot

    • Luskin Star says:

There is always a message in Crouching One's advice. The fact that it is delivered in a unique way is a plus not a minus.

  12. Saundo says:

Too early to get rid of Witts or is he a keeper?

    • Sana says:

Hasn't given us much reason to trade him Saundo

    • Randomcliche says:

Goldy will outscore him from here…but I've got about 7 other issues to deal with.

    • Patrick says:

You absolutely shouldn't be trading him this week if you can cover him with Nank and bring a playing forward off your bench. If you are facing a donut then there is an argument for trading him this week but given he probably still has another $50K to make taking a donut and using him through the other 3 byes is a perfectly legit option too. My own plan is to eventually trade him to Gawn at some point before the SuperCoach finals.

    • whatyasmokin says:

Witts is a keeper at this stage.

    • Derek says:

If he is your R3 you should trade him. Too much cash on bench.

If he is your R2 you will have to upgrade him at some point to either of the best two ruckmen (whoever they turn out to be).

    • Top Gun says:

Butler to Myers Witts to Heeney via Nank DPP bringing him to the ruck. Bang! Bang!

    • Russty_ says:

Witts isn't a keeper by any stretch, if there are no more pressing issues, Jacobs or Martin, are actually keepers. Martin won't go up much this week, Jacobs will by 30 grand…and is on a tear.

  13. Danny says:

Zorko or Oliver? (Already have Zerrett)

  14. lok says:

    Heeney or Macrae?

Also, is it worth trading SPP to Myers. Got no other ways to get him in.

    • redherringfc says:

If you plan to bring in both then Heeney this week and Macrae when it suits. Macrae is almost at season high price. He won't go up much and will drop a little at some point. He is Mr consistency.

as for SPP he is close to max price, sc gold predicts him to go up by 25k in round 15, he may even go further, especially after a rest this week.

    • Derek says:

Macrea is about to go massive.

He has had a few games lately where his first half has been very quiet but his second half massive. 97 and 86 last two games in second half. It will happen soon when he has two halves like that and boom!

  15. Simon says:

    Any word on Rockliff?

    • INPieman says:

      2-3 they are saying. Awkward

      • TOPHAWK1 says:

2-3 means 3. If he misses 2, he will miss week 3 as it it Brisbane's bye. So 3 weeks it is. Rocky has to go as that shoulder will continue to be a problem for him for the rest of the season. Mark my words.

        • Derek says:

I agree. If he is back in 3 ok, but I'd be worried he will be like Gaz and not tackle. He gets a lot of points from tackles

    • whatyasmokin says:

Hold if nowhere near top rank.

    • Danners says:

Heard rumors that he was training with Beams and are hoping that can get up this weekend somehow. Like the others are saying though, he will probably be out of at least a couple of weeks

    • Russty_ says:

2 to 3 could mean way more than that, no one knows how his dislocated Shoulder is going to hold up until he plays. Then if they realise he should never have played, and that playing only made it worse, he could have to go for surgery, and be out for the rest of the year.
I'd dump him regardless, could possibly be ok in 2 to 3 weeks, but more likely, won't be.

As an example, how many injuries on the injury list just keep extending, week after week until 4 or 5 weeks turns into 8 or more?

  16. TigerNut says:

For those that traded Newman out, Is it worth canning a Tom Stewart to Newman? (BE -20). He could hold his spot for the rest of the year and be a nice D6. Would leave DEF very solid as Doc, Lloyd, Simpson, Marchbank, McGrath, Newman (Williamson, EVW)

    • INPieman says:

Could hold his spot for the rest of the year? Mate he's already been dropped twice! If he keeps his spot it will only take one poor performance to drop him. Horse doesn't look at Supercoach scores. We learnt that with Tom Mitchell. Keep in mind North conceded 210 to Gary, the rest of his scores have been crap by Gary standards

      • TigerNut says:

We all have our differences. In the top 1900 overall so I will stick with the gut. 35 touches, 11 marks, 4 tackles and a 151 score this week at an average of 93.6. Rest of his scores were 73, 105, 80, 59 then 151. Could well go up another $150k in a season where rookies are hard to find. Tom Stewart isn't a keeper and he's made cash. Newman expected to go up another $45-50k this week. Worth the risk I reckon. Horse looks at stats mate and those stats last week don't lie. Fancy listening to a Collingwood supporters advice haha

        • pod says:

Stats don't lie, his average is right up there with best def. and still cheap!

          • TigerNut says:

This game is all about trading up and trading down. Tom Stewart has to be traded at some point so there begs the question. When do you cull him? Might as well do it now for someone that will appreciate in coin and be a potential keeper. Big risk involved with Rampe to come back. But reward looks too good if he can be named each week. Thanks for your insight fellas

        • MichaelQLD says:

I'd get him in. Will probably make at least another $100K and could even end up being a D6/D7 keeper. Has an incredibly SC relevant game about him so still a bargain at that price especially given all our cash cow issues this season.

          • Jacob says:

Agree Michael. Too many coaches look at what price a guy started at rather than assessing whether the trade is a good move at this point in time. Heard the same dribble from Higgo on the podcast a few times but it's just overly rigid thinking for mine in a season which requires more creative thinking than ever before. Wouldn't surprise me if Newman averages 80-85 from here which makes him superb value at $300K.

      • Tyruddanaut says:

It's not just supercoach. That was a bloody gun game

    • Captain Risky says:

Risky, for me, I wouldn't. I've got him still and happy to hold for a while and see how he goes, but I would be trading him in. Can't see him averaging much better than 80-85. Good but not quite a keeper, and already gone up 198K, so not another 100K left I wouldn't think.

Happy to be proven wrong, and if you have lots of trades left by all means do it, but you've only got 3 premos in defence, so still a bit of work to do to get 6. I'd personally go 1 up, 1 down- stewart & Williamson out.. IN Rance, Laird, Williams, Adams etc

    • Billioux says:

Trade out rookie then re trade back in after one ridiculous score = Bye Bye. Good luck stays in top 10,000. 30 trades goes too quick for that. If u traded Newman bid farewell and move on.

      • TigerNut says:

his name is Nic Newman not "a rookie". He's a mature aged player, 23 years old. All my other lines are set except for the backline and it would leave him at D6. with Williamson and EVW on bench for cover.

    • Derek says:

You missed him mate, move on. Won't create enough cash to justify the trade. His 151 only stays in score for 2 more weeks.

      Has a round 11 bye

Poor JS especially as Rampe likely to come back soon

    • Dogs says:

As a swans supporter, Too risky, horse doesn't look at SuperCoach scores, and if he's not happy with his defensive work Newman will be dropped again. Titch could rack up 35-40 touches and still get dropped because horse wasn't happy with his defensive efforts. I still think this week could be touch and go just from a few mistakes he made on the weekend, including giving up an easy goal. Longmire is a strange bloke.

    • Wedge says:

Newman is not a D6. Or D7 or D8. Everyone should consider trading him in the bye rounds. I would trade marchbank and McGrath while I'm at it

    • Top Gun says:

Great cash generator but definitely not a keeper

    • Travo says:

I would disagree with most on Newman. Watching the way he plays I can see him holding his spot at the Swans and putting up consistent 85+ scores with a few 120+. He does everything right for supercoach and will only get better.
There is always the risk that if he plays a bad game he gets dropped and horse would be hesitant to bring him back in with the like of Rampe to return.

  17. NickMacMan says:

Should i get rid of WHE or Hannan?

    • Jeff says:

      Depends on your bye structures

    • redherringfc says:

Hannan isn't scoring well and he might not increase in value at all. WHE has a round 13 bye and Brisbane in round 10 might see him score ok to boast his price over the following 2weeks.

    • Clayman says:

I'd cull Hannan. WHE could be a handy hold until his Rd13 bye given how few Rd13 forwards we have. Pies also have fairly decent draw to their bye too so you should get some reasonable scoring out of him.

  18. Tommo09 says:

    Durdin or Myers?
    Adams or Docherty?
Do I get Docherty now or wait until after his bye at hopefully a cheaper price?6

    • NickMacMan says:

probs myers and would be ideal to get adams before the bye and doc after his.
if you had to chose one though id go doc

    • SF4 says:

      Myers the better option.
      Durdin hasn't got good JS

  19. Osei says:

    Hey all,
Is Josh Kelly are legitimate chance to sustain this average or potentially increase?

    • Derek says:

What usually happens when a player has a period of great scoring? What happens after that……. usually, almost every time?

      Does he:

      A) continue knocking out massive scores

      Or

      B) opposition coaches realise the danger and put a close tag on them, this gives them a crap SC score and there are a number of young supercoachers screaming how unfair this game is?

      • Dildor says:

Did you watch the game? They tried to tag him. The same levi greenwood that killed selwood had no impact on kelly, he's a very versatile player that is damaging everywhere. Hard man to tag.

    • Danners says:

He could sustain his average, but I can't see him getting any higher. I wouldn't be going out of my to get him in though

    • Alec says:

The problem with the GWS midfield and in fact their side in general is that they are so even across the board, more so than either team in the AFL. This is their great strength as they can just wear down other teams with the sheer number of quality players they can throw at you. But from a fantasy perspective it's their big negative. So many of their midfielders have purple patches and then drop away and another one of their guys step up instead. So Ward is down right now but he will likely have his purple patch at some point as will Shiel and then perhaps Kelly will drop away. So I'd rather get on the value Swan mid premos like a JPK or Parker myself.

  20. Saundo says:

Will Rocky out affect Martins scoring?

    • INPieman says:

That's actually an excellent question. It probably will IMO

    • Zach says:

I'd expect the impact to be negligible. I tend to think these things often get overstated. Wasn't the banning of the 3rd man up this season going to put a handbrake on Bont's scoring?? And wasn't Gawn out going to limit Oliver's scoring?? Well the dude just posted his highest score of the season with a 142! So stop over thinking things would be my advice.

      • Patrick says:

Also when Rocky missed 6 games in 2015 Stef still averaged 110 in that season. And even if it does adversely impact on Stef's scoring this time around (which I doubt ) Rocky will probably only miss a week or 2 anyway.

      • INPieman says:

If the lions don't have Beams & Rocky this week Zach they really only have Zorko as a gun mid. They are playing the Crows who will be out for revenge BIG TIME. And Mitch Robinson won't be there to keep Rory Sloane company. So start thinking is my advice. Sauce is also having a decent season. So Stef may not have his best week

        • Geoff says:

Well there was no Robinson to tag Titch either, Beams didn't play and the Lions were crushed and Stef still scored huge so not sure you're on the money with this one mate.

          • Thomas says:

But Rocky played geoff. Pieman is saying that without, Beams, Rocky and Robinson, he will struggle. Means Zorko is the only good mid they have

        • Tyruddanaut says:

What about no ruckman at all for Oliver. Wasn't that going to affect

          • Geoff says:

That's one of Patrick's points. Just cognitive bias at play when you boil things down. Perhaps INPieman was considering trading in Martin but doesn't want to do it so is looking for excuses why he shouldn't. It's so easy to rationalise things in SuperCoach to give us the answer we want to hear even if in the end we are only fooling ourselves.

            • Carter says:

Sorry I meant one of Zach's points.

            • Luskin Star says:

Wiser words have never been written. Wish I had a dollar for every time I reasoned something out and came to the concusion that i wanted but not the right one.

      • whatyasmokin says:

        Spot on Zach.

    • Top Gun says:

It won't matter Brisbane will still be shit!

  21. Jack says:

21 Trades – 128k. Advice re Bye planning and trades this week?
Shaw, Tuohy, Otten, Newmann, Marchbank, Berry (Hampton, Hibberd)
Adams, Danger, Pendles, Fyfe, JPK, Macrae, Merrett, Pepper, (Beams, Barrett, Balik)
    Martin, Sandi (Strnadica)
Nank, Buddy, Roughy, Dahl, Taranto, Butler (Eddy, Parsons)

    • redherringfc says:

My suggestions on a quick glance, without looking into your bye structure, you need to get Adams into your backline (Otten out, Myers in this week) and Macrae into your forward line (butler out, best mid in). Then focus on filling your mids with top premos.

    • Derek says:

      Eddy to Myers via Mcrea

  22. INPieman says:

Dyson Heppell with a microwave induced steak injury……looking to top Jeremy Howes canine frisby accident
    http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-05-16/bombers-mic

    • Russty_ says:

Sounds like a drunken incident…lol, not something that would happen if you were sober, glad he's "cherry ripe" to go.

    • Austin says:

Another very dodgy explanation. I guess we'll find out who he punched out later in the week. :)

      • Filthy Phil says:

I don't know why guys just don't stick to the familiar "slipped in the shower" line which at least has some chance of being believed. When they try to get too overly creative with their explanation like De Goey and Howe you can smell BS a mile away.

    • Whitey says:

Not a Bomber fan but completely different character you fools.

    • Junior Murray says:

      typical from a pies supporter

  23. Curious George says:

    Any news on Treloar?

  24. Simon says:

Will Zorko's scoring go up now that rockliff is out ?

    • whatyasmokin says:

Did you want Zorko in your team if Rocky was there? If not, then forget about him.

    • Carter says:

Rocky is only going to miss a few weeks more than likely. If you are getting Zorko in it should be a season long decision and how he goes during August during the SuperCoach finals not what happens in May.

    • pod says:

I can't see why not, he is a gun and ready to step up.

    • Russty_ says:

Zorko's been a solid choice for the last 3 years or so.

  25. Mike says:

This week I'm thinking of going SPP to Myers and Butler to Heeney, thoughts community?

    • Derek says:

I still think it's too early to say if Heeney is top 6 forward

    • Danners says:

Listen to the podcast, SPP will come in handy over the byes

      • Mike says:

So doesn't matter if we miss the boat on Myers, any other good rookie mids coming up? Was just looking to build a bank up this week

    • Rolfey says:

      I like it

    • Rivo says:

Try holding SPP. Can you get Myers in another way?

    • SF4 says:

Myers is pretty important due to the lack of rookies we have. Has good JS so it think we need to get him in.

Im looking to bring in Heeney for Butler this week but it doesn't go well with my bye structure, not many other options in the fwd line which is the main issue.

      • Derek says:

        What about Waite?

        • lok says:

          god no… not waite.

          • Mike says:

Not going for overall ranking just league wins and I'm predicted to win 2 out of 3 with those trades done, so thinking they look pretty good in the end!

            • hedski says:

I was predicted to get 2260 a couple of weeks ago Mike…1854

              • Mike says:

The guy I'm versing obviously gave up after the first round as he only score 1400 odd each week… I think I've got him covered aha. But I know what you mean about not relying on score predictions

  26. DEE says:

I was looking at bringing in danger for Kelly next week but after the effort on the weekend think he may be a keeper or at least till his bye.

So not sure now what to do?
Do I bring in Danger or just leave it?
    Ranked 2000.

Mids: Bont, Sloane, Pendles, JPK, Zorko, Ablett, Fyfe and Kelly.

    DANGER?

  27. Joshua says:

SPP to Myers and Otten to Adams.
Otten to Myers and Stewart to Rance?
    Option 1 or 2?

  28. Nunny says:

Is there any way I can trade a Butler to Myers if he isn't dpp? How does that work?

    • Northernsoul74 says:

Yes, I've got Balic on my mid bench so will swing him forward.

      • Nunny says:

        But Butler isn't mid?

        • Northernsoul74 says:

You're trading Butler out. If you've got a dpp on your mid bench trade Butler out, swing themid dpp forward and trade Myers into the space in the mid.

          • Russty_ says:

Aka….Supercoach 101, well done for your patience.

            • Moosehead says:

I traded out two forwards and got two mids utilising two mid dpp in Balic and Florent. No mid/fwds on my mid bench now but hopefully will get away with it for a couple of weeks.

  29. Pod says:

Why isnt anyone talking about mcEvoy been over 6/8 games and the last 5 games with a 111 against martin on the weekend must be considered averaging 100

  30. Harry says:

    JPK or Oliver? Cant chose

    • Geoff Carter says:

All the way with JPK for mine. Swans look to be finally getting their sh1t together. Oliver is likely to be a good option too but at least we know JPK has gone 110+ for several seasons.

      • Russty_ says:

JPK is a proven gun, especially in the latter half of seasons, Oliver is an unknown quantity at the moment as far as finishing a season goes. I brought him in 3 weeks ago cause I believe he's a gun and could be anything, had JPk from the start too so there was some pain there leading up to this week.
I guess you need to choose from a solid proven gun, who can go big, and a young gun prodigy who could go really big, or not, if he runs out of juice. It's a tough one if you're choosing, best to get both if you can :)

    • lok says:

JPK 100%.. Watch this bloke dish out a 157 this week and everyone will bring him in.

    • Luskin Star says:

      2018 I say Oliver. 2017 JPK

  31. George says:

Is Hibberd a good option down back?

    • Russty_ says:

Yeah if you only have $423500 to spend, I guess, until he injures his leg again.

  32. Billioux says:

Hit trade on him and then look LHS and scroll and see the magic.. if u planned well.

  33. Banga says:

Going Butler to Myers, for my second trade, should i go Hampton to Mciness or Parfitt to Mutimer?

    • Tyruddanaut says:

That completely matters on team selection. I doubt both of them will be kept in

  34. Andrew says:

I've already got JPK, Newman in my side is it too many swans if I bring in Lloyd? I'm trading Otten
Already have Laird, Shaw and Adams.
Can't afford Doch but can get anyone else

  35. Sam says:

    Durdin JS?

  36. Martin says:

Is SPP to Lloyd (GWS) then otten to laird a good move? This would leave me with 100 left so I can't get Myers instead of Lloyd..

    • frogger says:

Wait and see if Lloyd retains his spot. Greene is back this week, but with GWS' injuries, there is a chance Lloyd stays, I guess.
Who would be your alternative to Laird if you went Myers?

  37. TigerNut says:

you know what disgusts me about the Tigers? They give games to Markov, Menadue, Morris, Batchelor, Elton. Yet they leave Anthony Miles in the VFL (Racking up 30 odd touches a game).Lennon in the VFL (averaging about 4 goals a game). and Sam Lloyd playing in the VFL. Come on Tiges WTF. Miles, Lennon and Lloyd should all be in the side. FFS! Any Tigers Fans would love your thoughts

    • Russty_ says:

Not a Tigers fan but I know what you mean, Tigers decision makers seem hell bent on sabotaging themselves, best decision they've made recently is getting rid of Tyrone Shittery.

    • Dildor says:

Prestia plays the same role as miles, both in the same team is hard to fit. Lennon has had tremendous troulble converting it at the afl level, he has had plenty of chances. He also neglects to run and put on any defensive pressure, he's the liam mcbean of our smalls. Vfl and afl are worlds apart.
Lloyd is interesting, doesnt have the raw pase and pressure of the trio at this stage but is a good mark and goalkick, expect him to come in for butler this week. I think you can also expect one of the blokes you mentioned to make way for shia bolton pretty soon.

    • Rivo says:

Have to agree here TigerNut. Miles should be holding his spot in the best 22. Lloyd & Lennon play half Fwd roles that seem to compete with Butler, Rollo, Castagna & Edwards. Staggering that Miles missed out last week. Biggest issue is the lack of a a key CHF. Elton not up to it, Griffith looks gone and Chol a long way off. That said, I would definitely look at Miles, Lloyd & Lennon this week – on the proviso that Butler holds his spot for my SC team.

  38. Meph says:

Anyone else considering Hibberd down back? Might not end up top 6 defender, almost certainly top 10. 100k cheaper than every defender averaging more than him.

    • Russty_ says:

I know he's going well, for now, but for me, his history of leg injuries is too risky to consider, I don't believe he's a keeper.

  39. pod says:

Friday night VC choices aplenty. Bont, Jelwood, Danger, Dahl..

    • Tyruddanaut says:

      Danger excels against good teams

    • Terry says:

I'd go Bont. Cats are in a slump and who knows when they will snap out of this funk. Both Danger and Jelwood are carrying niggles too. Until they can show me they can produce the goods again I'm not burning VC/Cs on them if it looks like I have better prospects elsewhere.

      • James says:

Yep they were meant to right the ship last weekend against the Dons but only looked even worse on the weekend for the first 3qtrs and then the Dons began to fade which perhaps made them look better than they actually were. At least they are playing at home in the opening game of the round so placing the VC on either Danger or Selwood is not as bad as relying on them for a C score. I was feeling pretty nauseous at 3qtr time with the C on Danger last Saturday but thankfully he had a huge last quarter to get me a respectable C score.

    • Finnius123 says:

I'm going to go a smokey for VC this week. Tex Walker is playing against Brisbane, and I reckon he can do a Buddy and go absolutely huge against them. Means I miss out on Bont, Danger, Jelwood, Macrae, Dahl and co., but I reckon it is worth the risk – especially with Zerrett with the C on sunday

    • Leeds17 says:

If you have Goldy he plays Melbourne this week will hit 130+

  40. Tyler says:

Thoughts on my side and what I can do with trades this week

Got 22 trades and 19k remaining

    Adams, laird, Simpson- Stewart
    Williams, Marchbank, Newman- Hampton

    grundy, Sandilands
    – strandica

    Wingard, McRae, Dalhaus- eddy
    JJK, Hoskin Elliot, rough- parsons

Help me out new to this and ranked about 15k

  41. B-rian says:

What do we think about Dustin Martin this week guys. He is very attractively priced at 510k, but is it fools gold?
Form hasn't been good. Seemingly can't handle a tag.

    • Finnius123 says:

High ceiling but inconsistent – at least you know what you are buying. Can definitely handle a tag (best player at avoiding tackles in the game) – just in and out of matches, which can be frustrating for an owner

    • pod says:

      I think he's a gun and a bargain.

    • Rivo says:

Bargain price, super player and high ceiling. Definitely considering Dusty for next week or after the byes.

    • Captain Risky says:

Next week bringing him in. Suits my byes, good value ATM, goes huge every so often. Overdue for a big one, hopefully next week!

    • INPieman says:

He's definitely suffering from the groin injury. And it's impacting. I'll have another look at him this week

      • Merv says:

And playing at GWS this week too who usually put the clamps on their opposition fantasy scoring as we saw with Pendles and the Pies last week. So I'd be holding off this week at least and if he can ton up again only then consider jumping on board as the Tiges draw begins to open up with the Bombers and Kangas up next.

    • Rick says:

Hasn't scored well since that injury a few weeks ago. Might be playing hurt.

  42. pod says:

    Snore fest Hawks vs Pies

  43. Derek says:

Any Buldog supporters tell me about Lucy's Webb? Played first game for year last week for 77sc.

    Only $260k but has DPP.

Why hasn't he played much and will he get a decent run of games?

    • bob the builder says:

He's just a bit of a fringe player been hard for him to cement a spot but always around the mark. I really like what he brings but there are many other playrrs fighting for the same spot. Questionable JS

    • Northernsoul74 says:

Very highly rated and too good for vfl but it's a tough team to break into. Also a few coming back from injury to slot in. I prefer him as a half back as he's got a lovely kick on him but they've been developing his inside mid game. The dogs do need to get games into him though otherwise he'll likely leave end of season. Hawks really like him.

      • Derek says:

thanks. probably a bit expensive, but if he knocks out another 75-80sc this week he might be worth having a look at next week… maybe.

        • Northernsoul74 says:

Things might be a bit clearer when teams are released. If the rumours about M Moyd are to be believed I suspect the he Dogs have decided to give Williams, Webb, and Dale a fair crack at it.

    • neil demons delight says:

Seen a bit of this kid if you had to compare him it would be to newman beautifull long lefty trying to get more mid time but too many similar types jong mclean wallis Williams very hard for the kid

      • Northernsoul74 says:

That left boot is why I still see him as a half back which is what he played when drafted. Reckon the club has concerns that he doesn't have enough speed to play off the backline. I'd prefer him over Suckling but who am I to argue with Bevo.

    • Juzzy says:

Don't think he will get a decent run Derek.

Murphy, Morris, Dickson, Wallis, Cloke, Roughead all possible ins this week.

      • Derek says:

Thanks. Didn't even notice him but just caught my eye as I was looking over the weekend scores

  44. Greg says:

Pretty sure that now in light of Rocky's diagnosis that I'm just going to concentrate on league wins (and thus will hold him for the 2-3 weeks). Have 21 trades left and ranked in top 2% but amongst mates bragging rights goes to whoever wins the comp, although rank and league wins likely to go hand in hand…

If byes are not an issue (pretty much decided to tank Rd 11), is JPK the best mid option under 536k for SPP? Or am I better shipping Butler off for a fwd under 500k (N Riewoldt or Heeney)?

    • bob the builder says:

Depends on how your structure looks Greg,
If your forward line is weak i would trade Butler and snap up a fwd.
on the other hand if mids is weak JPK is a great option

      • Greg says:

Current mids: Bontempelli, Rockliff, Dangerfield, Fyfe, Pendlebury, Hannebery, SPP, Barrett / Myers

Current fwds: Dahlhaus, Macrae, Franklin, Nankervis, Butler, Balic / Parsons

    • neil demons delight says:

JPK looks the best choice but both lines need help Roo could be one that comes with a rush don't think Heeney is as good as MIlls though

  45. Jack says:

    Defence-
    Laird, Adams, Jones
    Shaw, Marchbank, Newman
    Bench- Stewart, Hampton

    Midfielders
    Dangerfield, Hannerbery, Treloar, Merrett
    Fyfe, Selwood, Taranto, Barrett
    Bench- PowellPepper, Pickett, Fisher

    Rucks
    Sandilands, Grundy
    Bench- Strandica

    Fwd
    Dalhaus, McRae, Dixon
    Nankervis, Hoskin-Elliot, Roughead
    Bench- Parsons, Eddy

    Rank/8908
I have 23 trades left but don't know what to do next :) any suggestions Community

  46. Travo says:

Trading out Otten this week. Rance and Hibberd are obvious choices due to BE's and I already have Doc, Shaw, Laird and Adams.
Seriously looking at Harbrow's numbers, price and convenience through the bye rounds. Tell me I'm crazy.

    • INPieman says:

Harbrow is a tough one. His 10 previous seasons suggest he's a rubbish pick. But he seems to be playing & scoring well. Huge risk

    • Moosehead says:

I wrote an comparison with three defenders two weeks ago. He did well again in China and his price went up again. I am getting him after this week along with another 10,000 SCers. Mark my words.

    • James says:

You don't fluke 5 tons out of 6 games so he's obviously in form and playing that juicy rebounding defender role that all teams need. Could be a decent option next week but considering that Rance and Shaw are similarly priced to Harbrow and Hibberd is even cheaper it would still be a risky play to bring in Harbrow who is averaging nearly 25ppg more than he did last season. Of course sometimes it can just click for certain players and they have a breakout season as Yeo appears to be doing so far in 2017.

    • pod says:

Rance this week, Harbrow after his bye.

    • Randomcliche says:

Bought last week bc I can cover this week and enjoy the bye round flexibility.

  47. bob the builder says:

Who to hold out of Butler and Otten?

    • TheScacman says:

Otten will bleed a little cash but Butler is really average at the moment, also definitely will not be scoring as highly. Butler out

    • LoganJosh7 says:

wait on selection – but i have to make the same choice so will probs go with butler.

    • frogger says:

Would say Butler. Think that there is a chance he won't be selected, though, to be honest.

  48. Rick Grimes says:

All plans are on hold until teams are released. I see potential for a little carnage this week. Plenty of spud rookie performers with the axe hovering.

    • INPieman says:

I agree with you there Rick. Otten & Hampton types may have to be moved down the priority list. I have Eddy Pasrons & Balic in my Fwd line. Nervous

      • Captain Risky says:

A trifecta of duds. Only need Hannan for the quaddie

      • Brett H says:

        INPieman – g'day.

As I stated above, I don't think Balic will play this week as he wasn't seen at training today (whereas Hill and Ballantyne were going flat out).

This "one week in one week out" for Balic has me thinking his issue is more than "illness" (but I hope I am wrong)!!

        • INPieman says:

I read not long again Brett that Balic was no where to be seen at training today. I'm guessing he will be no where to be seen at selections. It's starting to smell like a bad week

    • James says:

Myers is a must trade in for most coaches so it's just a question of who goes which team sheets could dictate for some. If you don't have a midfield perma-donut like Pickett or Mountford type then it's probably time for SPP to go. Some may even consider going early on another bomber in Stewart if they are faced with a forward donut this week.

  49. pod says:

Why is Shaw considered a top 6 defender THIS season?

    • Travo says:

He's not. Considered top 6 based on previous seasons. Time will tell if Zac Williams and age has impacted his scoring capacity.

      • pod says:

Nail on the head Travo. Zac Williams looks better, showing it now & probably will all season.

    • James says:

He sure doesn't look like a player who will burn you for NOT picking him right now given his timeshare role with Williams. Until he can go back to back hefty tons I wouldn't worry about him especially as most of our defences are already clogged up with round 13 bye players as it is.

    • neil demons delight says:

he's not and take his 200 out last year barely makes it plenty better adams hurley simmo

      • whatyasmokin says:

Yep his average last year was propped up by freak games. Glad I didn't get him at the moment.

  50. Ryan says:

I'm really torn and need help who should I bring in, dusty at $510 or Adams at $555 in mid and move him to def down the track

  51. neil demons delight says:

Its going to be super hard to get to your full squad this year . I certainly wont have my preferred squad and need make do players such as oliver instead of bont sandi for goldy but even so I still wont get there. I have two left after next week a forward and a defender and .the only four over 200 are STEWART berry MacGrath and Balic at present valued at 1 mill gonna be short at least one with a bench full of MENAPOOS BET I AM NOT ALONE

    • INPieman says:

I don't think you can get to full premo with all the blokes you want. Think you need to pick off value & compromise on some. If you pick off blokes at 600 youll regret it later

      • Derek says:

to make matters worse this year has been the huge number of non-playing rookies on people's benches. In years gone by it was unusual to have more than 1 or two (used as loopholes). last week i had 6 and the week before that it was 8. seriously, how are we to generate cash?

i got rid of Smith, Parfitt and Eddy long ago, but i still see people holding them

as we upgrade to keepers, we have less rookies making cash.

i feel like i'm on welfare and food stamps but still trying to buy $600k premiums. sooner or later something has to give.

I've brought in 4 keepers in the last 3 weeks, but haven't paid over $500k for any of them.

        Simmo $492k, Buddy, $464k, Shaw $490k and Rance $471k.

Now i would have loved to get Docherty, but unless he gets cheaper i will have to do without.

        • Brandon says:

That's why many were advocating more of a midpriced strategy in the preseason. Many of those who went with a traditional guns and rookies setup with a bunch of onfield rookies have really paid a price this season. Strnadica is my only non playing rookie right now so will be looking to move on SPP for myers this week. I may not need to even upgrade Oliver, Murphy, Witts, Steele or Jones who I started with this season.

          • INPieman says:

Massive win picking those blokes Brandon. I went a combo of Guns mid pricers & rookies. I agree if you went straight guns & rookies your season is well & truly over

            • DEE says:

I always go against the herd an go for a few pods.
              Started sandiwitts with nank fwd.
Started macrae over Dahl and Lloyd and Jones in Def.
Most worked out though regretting trading murphy to Ablett. Time will tell I guess on that one.

Will have 17 trades left with the following team. will upgrade Butler to dahl after his bye, Marchbank to laird and WHE to yeo maybe during the byes. Will see how Newman goes in the next little bit.
But think unless disaster strikes will get to full premo this year.

Adams, Rance, Lloyd, Jones, marchbank, Newman. (Stewart, hibberd)

Sloane, Bont, Ablett, Zorko, JPK, Fyfe, Pendlebury, Kelly. (Balic, Myers, Fisher)

              Sandi, witts. (Cameron)

Macrae, Buddy, Nank, Steel, WHE, Butler. (Parsons, Hannan)

              • Randomcliche says:

Nice work Dee. I started higgins Steele Howe Armitage…wasn't my season….but will still hit 22 keepers by rnd 12 including the likes of rough and Hodge who I started but will be cycled during the byes.

            • Brandon says:

To be fair I had a few midpricers who failed too like JOM and Beams who I traded out for minimal gain. But at least it meant I didn't have too many of those spud rookies that have been giving coaches far more headaches than most of the midpricers have in comparison.

              • Brandon says:

In fact I believe I only had two rookies onfield to start the season in Hampton and Witts, who both were really more midpricers in terms of years in the system, just at super cheap rookieish pricers. Same with Otten on the bench.

        • neil demons delight says:

4 excellent pickups allows you to pick up a more expensive player later .Your 509 limit will now look better and there are still bargains to be had. In any other year would only go Rance maybe Buddy

  52. Jimmy says:

team is as below $278,800 remaining in the bank

DEF: Laird, Lloyd, Howe, Tmac, Marcbank, Newman (Stewart, EVW)
MID: Rockliff, Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Ablett, Priddis, Fyfe, Mundy, Barret (Balic, Fisher, Fox)
    RCK: Nank, Sandilands (Strandica)
FWD: Macrae, JJK, Greene, Heeney, Butler, Hardwick (Parsons, Eddy)

what trades should i make this week

    • Hawks says:

I would look to trade out Butler, switch Balic to the forward line, and get Josh Kennedy (Syd) in to the mids, and place Barrett on the bench.

  53. kevdup says:

With a weak forward, can swing the Nank to help and considering getting the big Grundy bear $448 with 124 BE, nice and cheap, but high BE. Do you guys think he is gonna be a top 5 ruck come year end? Or is it better to target Jacobs or Goldy (Preuss threat!) ! ty

  54. ABC says:

Is it too early to dump stewart?

I need to generate 100k so I can go Butler>Heeney.

    Its either SPP or Stewart?

  55. INPieman says:

There's an article on the HS that is titled "Footy world farewells Pies great" & there's a photo of Nathan Buckley in it. I got my hopes up until I realised it's about Lou Richards. Shame

  56. Regional6 says:

Assuming these three players get selected, who to play in the field – Myers, Berry or Bartlett?

  57. Julianne says:

Can I loophole M. Hibberd, Stewart and Newman? From what I have read I probably can't because Geelong are playing on Friday. Is that correct

    • frogger says:

You can leave Stewart on bench and put E on him on Friday.
If he scores well enough, you can then put Hibberd on field (assuming here Hibberd is not in selected side) after that game and before Swans early Saturday game and take Stewart score as the E.
If not, you can swing Newman onto the field before his early Saturday game and then take whatever he scores in preference.
      Is that what you meant?

    • Randomcliche says:

Geelong Stewart (e); dummy loophole player (hibb jnr) on field; check score sat morning rotate hibb jnr and Newman if Stewart scores sub circa 55 points. Cheers

    • bigbadbrad says:

Probably a moot point Julianne. Even if Stewart scores 75 which is pretty unlikely, given it would be a career high, are you really going to leave Newman off your field after he just scored 150+?! So just whack the E on Stewart and use him as a true emergency unless somehow he cranks out a ton which is pie in the sky stuff. That's even assuming Stewart doesn't get sent back to the VFL after the Cats put in another shocker last weekend so surely the axe will fall on the fringe players.

    • Julianne says:

Thank you so much frogger and Randomcliche

  58. Stinga says:

Hey all just wanting to see what people think off the team and any suggestions.
My Round 11 Bye is going to be a problem but got a few weeks to try and fix it.

    Defence –
    Docherty, Laird, Lloyd, (Stewart)
Simpson, Shaw, Newman (Hibberd (North Melb))

    Mids-
    Danger, T.Mitchell, Pendles, (Berry, Myers)
    Selwood, Fyfe, (Balic)
    SPP, Barrett, (Fisher)

    Rucks –
    Sandliands, Nank (Preuss)

    Forwards –
    Buddy, Greene, Macrae, (Parsons)
    Dahlhaus, Heeney, Taranto (Pickett)

    $275k in bank
20 trades left (Already made 2 this week – Heeney for Houston and Myers for Butler via DPP)

Any suggestions would be great, thanks !

  59. whatyasmokin says:

How do you check what top score was last week? I got 2273 without Newman on field, just want to know how close I was.

    • Randomcliche says:

Rankings and click sort by round score. Mobile rankings then drop down box for rnd 8 scores.

    • Mason says:

Surely you can just check your round rank on your home page which will give you a fairly good idea how good your round was. It's not rocket science mate.

      • whatyasmokin says:

        I didn't want a 'fairly good idea'

If you have no input on the matter except to be a twat go away.

    • Lazza says:

And here we were thinking you knew your way around SC … no cred mate ..

  60. INPieman says:

Harley Balic did not train at all today. Plan to not have him this weekend

    • Fred says:

Good chance that parsons gets dropped too along with Hannan, with Black unlikely to get a recall, and most coaches are still carrying Eddy at F8. So the prospect of donuts in the front half are massive especially for coaches who are also dealing with a round 9 bye forward like Lynch, Wingard, Miller or even Witts and Ryder in the ruck and were planning to use the Nank as cover.

      • Captain Risky says:

I might have to cop a donut, unless Butler plays.. Feels almost the same the way they have been scoring I guess.

I need Nank in the ruck to cover Witts.

      • INPieman says:

Agree Fred. I have Eddy Balic Parsons & also Preuss at R3 with Witts. Sure many are facing similar issues. Donut city on the horizon. I don't want to bring Durdin in

        • Fred says:

Not sure I'd go a week early on Stewart from the Bombers either. We all saw what happened when those trigger happy coaches went early on another forward who scored well in their first game in Black. You just end up chasing your own tail and burning through your trades for little progress. It's been the season from hell in that regard.

          • INPieman says:

Hannan was the classic example of that. Scored 96, heaps got on board & he has been poor ever since. I'd go McInnes over Stewart if it comes to it

        • Juzzy says:

          Oh crap …

Same as you INP. Eddy, Balic, Parsons. Nank supposed to swing in ruck to cover Witts.

This may require some left of centre thinking.

    • Derek says:

I was afraid of that. Parsons will have to get dropped, I've got Simpkin down as well …………….. Pickett will save the day!

    • Greg says:

      Indefinite leave from club

  61. Jimmy says:

This might sound borderline insane but I'm thinking about pulling the plug on Sloane before he plummets anymore. My logic is that he will get tagged now every week. Thoughts community?

    • Finnius123 says:

That is so incredibly stupid. Do not do that. Please.

    • bigbadbrad says:

Let me guess you were of those guys who jumped on the bandwagon and paid max dollars for him?? Well you've made your bed now so you have to lie in it or you will burn through your trades purely trying to avoid a temporary cash loss situation on an ultra premo. That's why you need to buy low and sell high in the first place or you end up considering these sort of jackass moves when the bubble bursts as they usually do.

I can't stand these jokers who post "I have $700k and can get any midfielder I like so who should I get" and then end up paying max dollars for an overly inflated Dusty or Sloane. This season you need to make each precious dollar stretch as far as possible and pluck out bargains being fallen premos who have bottomed out not spending huge dollars on some flavour of the month guy who is currently riding the crest of their wave.

      • Jimmy says:

I jumped on Sloane as a point of difference. I loved the fact that not only did he get disposals, he kicked goals and he tackles!! Unfortunately though it seems he is susceptible to a tag. Crows have fallen apart when he has been tagged. Every team will be following this formula hence he will be tagged every game until seasons end. I am afraid this will destroy his scoring and as a result it would be best getting rid of him now before he drops dramatically

        • Goat says:

The status quo is not the rest of the season. I have him and barring injury will have him in Rs 23 if my team is still laying. Quality. He will sort it or Pyke will.

    • Ryan says:

I'm also considering offloading him too for Neale who is flying right now. Opposition have finally worked out the Crows kryptonite, although surely it was hardly a secret to begin with. Just tag their superstar to death and watch the rest of their inexperienced midfield fall in a heap. Sloane will again find more room to move in a phone booth than he will he against the Lions this week even with Mitch Robinson out of the side. Just can't afford from him to leak more cash with byes on us now.

      • Rooster XXX says:

        Wow!

Can you please explain your logic around the comment – "just can't afford him to leak more case with byes on us now."
Why is Rory Sloane price relevant when he should be a keeper in your side? All players have down games – just so happens Sloane has had a couple in a row – why the knee jerk I have to trade him? Be good when you trade out Sloane for Neale and Sloane goes on another run of 120+ scores and Neale stinks it up…..

Sloane losing value is irrelevant as he should be remaining in your side unless injured. Ask yourself this are you really that confident that from this point on that Neale will outscore Sloane for the rest of the season? I would argue there is every chance he won't and even if he does it won't be by enough to justify wasting a trade that could be used to upgrade a rookie and/or cover for inevitable injuries and resting of players come the pointy end of the season,

Seriously you people must have bigger problems in your team than Rory Sloane and the fact he has a high BE at the moment.

        Wake up to yourselves!!!

        • Mason says:

Easy to say mate when you don't have a pretender like Sloane in your side when you paid top dollar for the prick. He tricked all of us into thinking he'd be a top 8 scorer this season but now that the cursed tagger is back in vogue he will struggle to average 80 from here i'd say especially after everyone has now seen how effective a tactic it has been against the Crows over the past fortnight.

          • whatyasmokin says:

He'll struggle to average 80 from here on? Lol Sloane will be back he's a champ.

          • Notorious mac says:

Well thats your fault for paying top dollar and chasing points. You should be mad at yourself not Sloane. Rookie

        • Jimmy says:

The high breakeven doesn't worry me. It's the fear of him averaging 80 from this point

    • Babo says:

      Yep. Trade him.

      Better for all us.

    • Juzzy says:

Don't trade premos Jimmy unless one of their legs fall off.

    • lazza says:

Soane has reached his max… which is pretty good.
Every team in contention will tag Sloane.
Sloane is a class act but he will NOT maintain his current average… he will still remain a premo option ..
If you have him .. do you trade him out .. the answer is NO…
the real question is … if you don't have him ..do you wait and trade him in when his price drops .. the answer is NO.

So , if you have him then hold, if you don't, then forget him..

      • Rodney says:

Spot on lazza. He won't be a top 10 mid now that the secret is out, so at least that's one less upgrade target we have to worry about. That's why I never pay overs for some guy killing it as opposition attention invariably comes their way. Same thing will happen to all those who are getting sucked into Yeo the last few weeks – mark my words!

  62. Crows says:

    OUT Cotchin ($537,800)INRockliff ($591,500)
    OUT Martin ($510,000)INMitchell ($578,200)

    • Jimmy says:

Rockliff aint playing the next two to three weeks with a shoulder

    • INPieman says:

Another angry Tigers fan. Burn your membership in the microwave instead of your trades

    • Rooster XXX says:

There goes two trades for no good use… Seriously people these trades aren't confetti that can just be thrown around willy nilly…
Need to be using trades to make genuine improvements to your team eg upgrading and downgrading of rookies etc…

So much proposed sideways trading of premos that are just wasting trades and not providing your team with measurable and tangible improvements….

Will be hard enough as it is getting to full premo, covering injuries and inevitable late season carnage of resting of players without wasting trades via sideways trading of fit and healthy premo players.

    • W_Carey says:

      do it

    • bigbradbad says:

I used to wonder why I would soar in the rankings in the 2nd half of the season each year. It's not such a mystery now after reading so many lamebrain trade ideas here.

    • Russty_ says:

      Surely, you jest? Rockliff in?…right!

    • whatyasmokin says:

Cotchin scored an 89 lol you're an idiot.

  63. Bells says:

Surely Wigg will get a run this week for the Crows. He's been killing it in twos for about a year. Hopefully he becomes a good downgrade option over the next few weeks.

    • bigbadbrad says:

Well you'd think Pykey will swing the axe this week which could spell bad news for those coaches still holding the likes of Hampton and Otten. He copped plenty of criticism from Crows supporters last week for barely making any changes, other than a couple of injury forced moves, after they got rolled by the Kangas. So you can bet your @rse there will be some omissions this week after getting humiliated at home by the Dees which should mean a look in for some of their SANFL players like Wigg.

    • Travo says:

I've been waiting to see Wigg named. I think he's going to be a gun!

      • Cogla13 says:

Greenwood was promoted off the rookie list last week. I think he will come in before Wigg.

  64. Ken says:

JPK or Pendles? (Picking as keeper)

    • bigbadbrad says:

JPK for pure value who appears to have turned the corner, if you can handle his round 11 bye. Bit of a question mark on Pendles right now so wouldn't be trading him at the moment particularly as it looks like he still has more cash to bleed so will be even cheaper in another week or two.

    • Juzzy says:

      Have them both Mate.

If I was keeping one it would certainly be JPK.

  65. Real Talk says:

Have you seen Myers injury history? How is he a must have exactly. Low scores + fragile = pass

    Enjoy the burn

    • JoeD says:

Have you had a look out the window lately? It's a barren rookie wasteland out there and the byes are coming! So most coaches need to either patch up perma-donuts on their bench in a hurry or scrape together some cash to upgrade some other rookie who has maxed out like a Butler or Hampton who is now travelling backwards. The pickings are super slim with Myers appearing to be the best of a bad bunch right now.

    • Freddy says:

Agree. I wrote about a couple of weeks ago.

    • Filthy Phil says:

He is actually looking good out there so don't be surprised if he starts banging out 70s and 80s soon. If you don't get on this week and he pumps out an 80+ you could be one of those pathetic coaches we all see each week posting "Is it too late to get on so and so" next week about Myers.

    • Lazza says:

the only thing going for Myers is his price. Otherwise he is SC irrelevant. If you are happy burning trades to earn $130 – 150K then bring him in.

      • Filthy Phil says:

Forget his capital gain for a second, some us just need another warm body to get us through the freakin byes!

  66. Juzzy says:

Regarding INP post regarding Balic as a possible no-show.

Swinging Nank into the ruck for Witts leaves my F4-6 Butler, Balic, Parsons this week with no bench cover. Not particularly excited about that prospect. Sitting about 1400 so obviously looking to avoid any doughnuts.

I can swing Balic to the mids and trade Rocky for a premo fwd. Problem is that I don't want a rnd 11 (or 9) bye and they are all the fwds I had planned on.

Kennedy seems like the guy but considering some left field options like Waite. Any ideas ?

    • Travo says:

Wouldn't go with Waite, unpredictable and injury prone. I assume you already have Yeo? Kennedy would be the next best option in preparation for byes.

      • Juzzy says:

        Thanks Travo.

Believe it or not I don't have Yeo. Cognitive bias at it's finest. I erased the part of my brain that held Yeo information a couple of years back. He does seem like the obvious guy. Ta.

    • Just Jeff says:

You really should hold Rocky and assess the situation next week. It would be a different story if it was some spud like Treloar who popped out a shoulder and there was some uncertainty on his return date. You would then just p1ss the bastard off as many did last week. But Rocky will be a top 4 scorer this season so you should persist with him if it's just going to be 1-2 weeks plus perhaps his bye. Personally i would just take your lumps this weekend and take some comfort in the fact that plenty other coaches will be in a similar boat, so you may not slip in the rankings as much as you might think. First thing is to see what happens with the team sheets this week as you may be panicking over nothing.

      • Juzzy says:

        Ta Jeff.

Want to hold Rocky. Just setting up a few contingency plans so that when when final teams drop and the girl is trying to rush me out the door to have dinner with some people I have never met I know which buttons to click.

      • bigbradbrad says:

Yes you will probably gain any ground back later in the season that you may temporarily lose on the coaches who burn trades either dumping Rocky or bringing in dodgy rookies like Stewart or McInnes to cover any donuts they may have this week. A good chance that these rookies will either score poorly this week and/or lose their position in the side over the next few weeks so not sure I'd go early on them induced by some short sighted donut hysteria.

        • Juzzy says:

          Ta Brad.

Coincidentally "Doughnut Hysteria" is the name of my solo album. Trademarked )

          • neil Demons Delight says:

            not a bad team name

          • Swans2012 says:

I also have the fear of the doughie juzzy….you are nut alone. Surely there is another option, I don't mind waite as a left field short term crack at climbing the rankings

    • lazza says:

Kennedy is lock for top 6 … bring him in then reconsider the rest ..

  67. BlueBoy says:

    Dear Brad Scott,

    Please pick Preuss.

    Sincerely,

    Witts owners

    • Deaf Ears says:

Sorry what did you say again? I can't hear you!

    • Russty_ says:

I'm not counting on that Blueboy, have traded Preuss out for Cameron and Butler out for Heeney, will reverse obviously if Preuss is named.

      • BlueBoy says:

I'm not getting my hopes up. I've got the Rocky issue to deal with too. Had two great weeks that are about to be cancelled out by the poop served up by rookies I'm stuck with on the field.

    • INPieman says:

Been writing to Brad Scott for weeks. He keeps telling me to get f*cked. He said he's joined the "ancient secret mystical society of the Rookiecutters" with his brothers Ross & Horse

    • whatyasmokin says:

Should've kept strndica or cameron and had Nank/Ryder in forwards. tsk tsk

      • BlueBoy says:

Started with Nank and Sandi on field with Witts on the bench for cash generation. Traded Preuss in after I saw both he and Witts scoring. I didn't think he'd be banished from the team for so long.

Looks like Strnadica is coming in for Preuss this week if he isn't picked…

  68. Billioux says:

INP spot on. Just on SEN Balic granted indefinite leave. Personal reasons. Good Thanks!

  69. jordanandeddie says:

Yep – we ain't seeing Balic anytime soon guys and girls. The rookie carnage continues!

    • Filthy Phil says:

If you can't trade him to a mid like Myers then we may need to bring in Stewart or McInnes as Balic won't be seen to well after the byes by the looks. Little point wearing a senseless donut this week and laying a nasty turd on your rank if he's not going to be part of the solution in the foreseeable future.

  70. Big G says:

My dilema – Just traded in Rocky. I have a few trades up my sleeve. Do I just cut my losses and trade him immediately for the Bont and aim to get him later or hold?

    • Big G says:

      correction: or aim

    • Juzzy says:

Guess it depends on your bye structures Big G.

Bont for Rocky is rnd 11 for rnd 11 if that matters for you. Otherwise go nuts. Whoever you want.

If you have cover hold is a legit option.

    • redherringfc says:

If you just bought him, I'd say hold. I'm holding and quite prepared to wait until after his bye. Im not in the running for the money, but hopefully make finals in all leagues. If i lose a round here and there because he's on the bench so be it. If he comes back like last year then you'll want to buy him in again, costing 2 trades.

  71. Curious George says:

I see Perryman playing this week
Be a nice downgrade right on round 11 bye
    And
    DPP

    Nice.

    • Derek says:

      Love the DPP

    • Stanks21 says:

Cant believe you didnt include Oliver… he has had a ripper so far this year and is only getting better. Anyone that doesn't have him needs to get him ASAP. Luckily I knew how good he could be and took the punt having him in my team when he was like 400,000 haha

  72. Mystic Mac says:

What's everyone's read on Walters? 383k, Scoring really well in the midfield, but who knows if/when he will go back to his normal forward role = spud.

    • INPieman says:

Might as well trade Balic to him now! Jesus! This season is a nightmare

    • Juzzy says:

I think he is a thumbs up.

New role, fast, Freo winning, cheap as chips, no Balic.

    • Mike says:

Haven't we seen this before with Walters? Gets some time in the midfield, sucks a few in and then he's back to crapping out 50s and 60s.

    • Derek says:

SHill might be back this week.

Apparently Walters averages 86 without Hill and 57 with Hill. Heard it on draft doctors podcast

      • Just Jeff says:

Walters has trap written all over him for mine. The only thing really going for him is that he's a round 13 bye forward which is virtually an extinct species, now that Balic has gone the way of the dodo.

        • Randomcliche says:

Looks at team with Roughy sitting there…argh I knew there was a reason I kept you big fella!

          • Derek says:

His mate Gunston is looking a good buy

            • Randomcliche2 says:

Discounted, I'm not sure about good, I still think the Hawks have some tough days ahead with a few lean days for Gunston…unfortunately….. If I was to pick Rnd 13 Fwd there is one that stands head and shoulder over all others….J Cameron, runs both ways, kicks straight, winning team. But my fwd line is full and I've got my fill of rnd 13 bye players so alas he will not join my team this week, or probably for the season….sad face.

    • Top Gun says:

Might do well but too risky for mine

  73. Pherso says:

Will Robbie fox or Declan Mountford play again? Who to trade for Myers? Cheers

    • Juzzy says:

High hopes for Mountford. Should play soon.

    • Jacob says:

Who knows what's going to happen at either the Swans or Roos. Newman was struggling to get a game and Preuss can't even get a look in so you would need to be Nostradamus to predict what their INs and OUTs will be this week. Personally I've given up on Preuss playing again before the byes.

    • Cogla13 says:

Fox is still back on the rookie list. Wouldn't hold too much hope there.

  74. KICKITDOWNTHEGUTS says:

    Balic owners beware…..

  75. Rivo says:

Massive forward line rookie carnage brewing this week – Parsons, Butler looking fragile, Ballic out indefinite, Houston & Eddy have byes. Picket asleep on the bench warming up for a massive 30 points. Panic button early. There goes the Myers trade :-/

  76. whatyasmokin says:

Harley Balic on indefinite leave with personal issue.

  77. Jim says:

Who does everyone think top 8 mids will be?
In my opinion in no specific order:
    -Danger
    -Neale
    -Rocky
    -Bont
    -Pendles
    -JPK
    -Sloane
    -Merrett

    • whatyasmokin says:

Oliver or Tom Mitchell over Pendles.

    • Babo says:

I've done my shoulder before and I dont think I was in the mood to give a decent tackle in any less than 12 weeks. Thus Rocky I think is done for a top 10 mid from here on.

      • redherringfc says:

        Is it his first time?

Faster recovery the more it has occurred. But also more likely to happen again.

    • Lazza says:

      From now on?
If so, I'd suggest Hanners and Cripps might just feature in the Top 8, with TMitch at 9. (We need 9).
I'd replace Pendles and Rocky… and if Sloane continues to be tagged he will slip too..

    • Liam says:

Can't believe people are writing off Pendles and even Fyfe. Think they will both hit their straps. They are stars

  78. bigbadbrad says:

News that Gawny could be back as soon as round 12 i.e. straight after the Dees bye. Could be a potential Sandi upgrade in round 13 for some.

    • Filthy Phil says:

      Sweeeeeeeeeeeet!

Although I'm probably going to need to rob a bank as I'm sure as sh!t not going to be funding any such upgrade from my collection of spud rookies!

    • neil Demons Delight says:

would wait a few weeks .His BE is too high he will come down plenty

    • Moustachio says:

You'd want to wait a couple for his price to drop

    • redherringfc says:

I hope not. SC wise, I'll be happy if he misses the rest of the season (Spencer as well).

Took Jocks advice last week (or higgo) and brought in Pedersen. it paid off last week.

The longer Max is out (spencer as well) the better.

  79. Juzzy says:

Ok INPieman is officially the new seer of the community.

Called Balic hours before the press got around it.

Am pretty sure he is dabbling in the dark arts.

Best we listen to what he says.

    • Billioux says:

Hmmm .Anyone actually seen INPieman and Ross in the same room??

      • INPieman says:

When it happens it's going to be a fight to the death. Bare hands! We have history. And it ain't pleasant

  80. Chris says:

Get Merrett or pay the extra 50k and get Bont?

  81. tom scully says:

    Tom Scully? Talk to me

  82. redherringfc says:

Does anyone see any purpose in holding Parsons. Since stopped elbowing legends in the head his scoring is garbage. How many SC points did he get for that hit? If he elbows Bob this weekend does he score an extra 20, so that his price rises and we can all trade him out because his price goes up 10k and he gets a longer holiday.

    • Filthy Phil says:

I'll take any rookie with a pulse I can lay my hands on. It will be a god send if he can survive the seemingly inevitable slaughterhouse at the Cattery this week. I'd take his 20pts any day of the week!

      • INPieman says:

Agree filthy. Hang on to anything with a heartbeat. May mean holding Otten & Hampton. So be it. Bigger priorities have surfaced

    • Derek says:

      If he plays he stays

  83. Karma Bus says:

I'm actually hoping Parsons gets dropped. I went Black instead so time for you bastards to feel the pain as well. Hopefully it means Black comes in as well so that I can really shove it up your smug arses for crapping on my Black trade a few weeks back. No looking like such wise asses now are we?!

  84. finnigin says:

thinking anyone sitting outside the top 2000 , plan to win there own leagues and maybe let a donut through this week and hope your prems score enough for a win so that bye planning is a little more controlled, trying to patch up this uncontrolled carnage for a week or two will only sley us at the busy end of the year.

    • Lazza says:

Why so? … so many smarmy pricks around … we are only a third of the way through the comp … so many sucking their own trumpet …

  85. Benny says:

    Thoughts on Rockliff to JPK?

  86. TigerNut says:

A few injuries at the Hawks could open up a rookie spot or 2 this week. Dallas Willsmore and James Cousins

    • Captain Risky says:

Willsmore must be close, Perryman in this week. I think tigers may bring in Bolton, Wigg maybe for Adelaide, Cunico at Geelong.

Another week to look at Stewart, McInnes & Lloyd..

We will have a few to work with over the byes with any luck.

      • Finnius123 says:

With any luck. Like that's gonna happen.

      • Randomcliche2 says:

The rookies will show themselves, just got to be looking a week ahead, which I guess is why you are killing my Midpriced madness league with your monster score on the w/e! N1.

      • Cogla13 says:

Sharenberg and Greenwood are both a chance. Might have luxury rookie choices over the byes.

  87. Kylegrenda says:

    Thoughts.
Upgrade Powell pepper to Merrett / jpk

    Or

    Parfit to Heeney?

    Thanks :)

  88. Jordan says:

Is it going to hurt my down the track if I pick up laird this week at 560k as cash generation is difficult this year??? (Otten to laird) or do I get him?!

  89. Ryan says:

Thoughts on wines or rob gray after there byes

Wines in a slump but we know he can play good footy

    • TOPHAWK1 says:

Both very risky. Gray is playing too much forward for mine and has a dodgy leg. A role change to more midfield time is crucial to consider him. Ollie Wines is in a slump like last year. It seems like an ongoing slump. I would look elsewhere for the time being. Cheers

I'm considering….I might end up with 9 premo mids, looping Beams/Wines (every week rnd 15 onwards). He could be too cheap to ignore come rnd 11. He is in my plan….but its a risky plan….its not easy to pick breakout contenders and you'd be safer not picking him and I wouldn't if it wasn't for the pesky byes….

  90. TOPHAWK1 says:

    Hi community,

Balic out indefinately for a "personal issue". I am shaking my head in disbelief………WTF!!

The rookies are dropping like flies. The byes are looming and here we are with rooks in our sides like Eddy, Hibberd, Parsons, Hannan, and now Balic. All 5 are likely to miss or be dropped. (I have 4 of those rooks……)

I was planning to not trade this week purely as an act of disclipline to conserve trades. I may still do so.

However, now with Balic's departure it might force my hand. It is now a super fine balance between trade preservation and trading not to fall behind the curve. Behind the curve meaning, not trading enough now so you do not have enough cover (too many donuts) during the byes and thus losing crucial rank and league momentum.

I am not going to trade tonight. Whats the point. The reverse button will be flicked with 100% certainty.

Tomorrow night's team announcements will be massive, and the decisions made thereafter by coaches will make or break their season. GAME ON.

    Cheers

First year SC. Can do the Captain loophole but with this emergency loophole thing can I loop SPP, Myers, Florent, Berry and Barrett, or do I select say Myers, Berry and SPP? I have read previous explanations but I am sorry, I don't get it.

    • Brian says:

It's the very same principle mate. Put the E on someone who plays early in the round. If they score well then put a non playing rookie on the field in their position. When they don't play you will the score of your emergency.
But if you have the E on 2 players in the same position, you will be given the lower score.
For this reason a non playing dpp rookie can be very handy

  92. TBone says:

So with Balic out indefinitely i think it is a good excuse to trade him off for Myers. Just use the one trade this week and ride out another week of disappointment. Then next week will hopefully have a rookie to downgrade to (Lloyd, McInnes), and can go Butler up to Toby Greene who suits my bye structure very well. Thoughts guys?

    • Lazza says:

I'd still be looking at trading out Hampton or Otten if you have either … they drop $$ this week, Balic won't..
Trade Balic later unless you don't have a DPP swing option (Berry/Adams) to accommodate the DEF/MID trade for Myers.

      • TBone says:

Already got rid of them mate, defense looks like Laird, Lloyd, Shaw, Rance, Marchbank, Newman (Stewart, Hibberd). Forward line is gonna be the issue for me though. Have Dahl, Macrae, Nank, Petracca, Butler, Balic (Parsons, Eddy) With Butler almost needing to be traded and the possibility of facing a forward line donut this week, I feel i need to strengthen there with the most urgency

    • Top Gun says:

Indefinitely could be a long time or a few weeks. I want to find out more and the media will sniff out more information. Stay tuned.

    • Tibor says:

Toby can play . Then again we shouldn't forget that rule about not putting tools in the team. This rule is generally more about Goddard and Jack Riewoldt but unfortunately it does apply to toby

  93. TOPHAWK1 says:

Why trade out Butler now with the departure of Balic? Butler, assuming he is likely to play this week is a warm body with a friendly round 12 bye. He might drop a few dollars but he has just become a crucial point scorer in the short term to get you through the byes. Same with Otten. Another warm body with a BE of 88. He will probably drop a few dollars but he has his bye in round 13 so you have time on your side. He might even get close to his BE as the Crows are playing Brisbane.

Focus on trading out cold bodies like Balic, Eddy, Mitch Hibberd, etc for warm rookie bodies with the byes in mind. Just my take. Good luck. Cheers

  94. Finnius123 says:

This just about sums up my supercoach season: Try to go Balic and Witts to Zerrett and Myers – end up $300 short. FML

  95. Tibor says:

Fair bit of talk around about Gawn recovery ahead of schedule……I wouldn't think grabbing him straight away is a good plan but a few games in and a decent price drop due could he end up as a season saver towards the later part of the year… any thoughts

    • Derek says:

      Get Nic Nat at R2

      • Finnius123 says:

Well nic nat does have that handy rd 12 bye…

      • Tibor says:

Ta worth a thought when will he play there is talk Gawn could be back round 12 so if I went that way I'd be looking at maybe 14 or 15 I thought Nic Nat was gone all year?

    • Randomcliche2 says:

I've got a special bullet for Witts after Gawn's played 2 games, it will be sad to see the best rookie of 2017 go, but go he will.

      • Tibor says:

Gawn has a break even of 200+ and he'd need a couple of games to get going properly so his price should get a brutal slashing. Of greater concern would be if they try to nurse him a bit by putting Spencer in to help. At least any decisions on Gawn will have some exposed form to make a better call because surely no one would be silly enough to grab him as soon as he's picked

    • frogger says:

Hoping Rds 12, 13 back in and working up to speed with a view to grabbing him rd 14/15 after his price drops if he shows good signs. Witts has been great, but realistically 15-20 pts off top rucks(?), would be perfect.

  96. Undertaker says:

Hey guys, who do we think top 6-8 fwds will be this year? thanks

    • Stanks21 says:

Yeo, McRae, Dalhaus, possibly Steele, Nankervis only ones I can think of

      • Undertaker says:

        no JJK or Lynch?

        • Stanks21 says:

Forgot about JJK but wouldn't go lynch, Gold Coast are way to inconsistent and some games he doesn't get the ball down there much at all. I usually look to players that I know play MID aswell or push up the field to get touches.

    • Tibor says:

Tough call, they are all so up and down. I like Dahl and the yo yo both benefit from dpp. I keep the faith with both roo and the bud. Petracca is a bit left field and I concede a risk but I really like a lot of what I see and last week might be a break out of sorts. Waite when he is good is brilliant but super inconsistent, Maybe rough has turned the corner and current price is still ok. Josh Kennedy is a gun in a good team but he does have a few stinkers.

Hardly much certainty to any of that so I will finish with one gold plated do not touch certainty. Bloody Higgins…do not put yourself through it

  97. Stanks21 says:

    Laird, Adams, Roberton,
    Tuohy, Shaw, Hibberd
    (VW, Stewart)

    Oliver, Yeo, Pendlebury
    Zorko, Kennedy, Fyfe,Barrett, Myers
    (PP, Fisher, Hibberd)

    Martin, McEvoy

    Dalhaus, Franklin, Greene
    Steele, Nankervis, Hayward
    (Parsons, Eddy)

    What do people think??
I traded down balic to myers, then traded Taranto swung Nankervis forward and looked at a ruckman and chose McEvoy who has been tearing it up.

    Worth the trade??
Should I reverse and do something different??

Got 16 trades left and 10,400 left in the bank, will be looking to downgrade PP and stewart in next few weeks to get some cash to get a premo MID.

  98. Trent says:

    Cripps or Kelly??

  99. Damo says:

    19 trades left and 396k

Loaded with Power and Suns players, so short this week.

Trading out Balic (can be done in either the forward line or midfield)

Looking for someone from Geel/North/Rich or WCE for team balance during the byes.

    Shortlist options –
    Selwood/Dusty/Cotchin/Cunnington/S Mitchell/Priddis/Gaff etc etc mids
    Yeo/Kennedy??? fwds

Yeo being a DPP is a factor, ditto for Josh Caddy at a far cheaper price

  100. Mich says:

How many trades is everyone sitting on after this week?

  101. JoshA says:

Downgrade otten or Hampton and to who

  102. Meanie of Me says:

I had flagged Otten to be traded out this week, but looking at the teams, the Crows have dropped Jenkins and named Otten forward – the same position which produced his weekly at or near 100 scoring earlier this year.

So taking the punt and moving Marchbank on and keeping Otten.

  103. rory says:

need a premo under 520k, not jpk, thinking eityer parker or viney

  104. Hayos says:

Was listed on the team lineups in the middle in rd 6 & 7 which is gold for a Fwd option POD
