Before we start to drop our strides – we want to see what you got hiding in the trouser folks.

Be brave. Be strong. Lets draw on our collective wisdoms to see where you are at.

Rookies. Permos. Mid Pricers… chuck it out there and get amongst it Community. No prick is wiser than the next.

Together we will rip this 2017 a new one.

As the great Geoffrey Fenech said, “I love use all!”

Thank you.

I'm showing mine now you show me yours

    Sandiwitts, Cameron
    StNick, Dollhouse,Waite,Toby,Nank,Turner,Pickett,Eddy

    • discojim says:

Tarzan, The Bug, Warnies Hair?? Forgive me Wombat but I know not what you speak.

    • wombatsfc says:

If you do the sums you'll see that as previously stated I have again used the entire 10 million. Banks are for robbers not supercoaches

    • Kevan says:

Hi Wombatsfc. Defence similar, just the premos are different, Prefer Otten on field over Stewart, if he gets a gig. Not quite the same in the mids in order to have Gawn at R1. Swallow instead of Beams, with Taranto in the fwds and SPP on field. As said, Gawn/Sandi with Strn. Have Cameron as an onfield rookie in the fwds, did the sums and he should score better and generate more cash than most other rookies. Also running with Nank, no just cover for Sandi, but will score points and generate cash. Running Gawn means only three premos in fwds with Nank at F4. I like the Steven pick but hew seems to do better in AF than SC, have gone with Jocks pick in Matt Crouch, could be cognitive bias but he does look the goods. Waite is a good one, may look into that. Thanks for the reveal.

      • wombatsfc says:

Thanks for your thoughts Kev. I'm still undecided on who to bench and who to play, the current structure is based on the maximum possible points from the 30 according to the SC predictor. I've been a fan of MCrouch for a long time and was singing his praises this time last year when everybody else was in love with his brother but he costs 100k more this year and I didn't watch a single Adelaide JLT game to see if he still has upside so I couldn't consider him.
Gawn is a massive risk even if spencer isn't named round 1 he certainly will be in the side on multiple occaisons in the early season. Max could be a straight swap with Sandi at the byes

    • Dee says:

love the SandiWitts ruck set up…. Hope it pays off for us mate! Cheers

      • wombatsfc says:

I don't think it can do any real damage Dee. I doubt that the rucks will be posting monster scores this year and an ave of 80 will make buckets of cash. I reckon my 4 rucks will generate enough $ to become the top 2 rucks plus a top 8 defender by the end of the byes the fourth will be downgraded to a myers or some other cheapy who hasn't played

        • Jake says:

I've got the same rucks mate, but what happens if Witts loses his spot/long term injury in the first 4-5 weeks? We might be stuck with him. I'll probably start Strnadica so I have the option of trading him for Cameron.

    • Dee says:

How much left in the kitty wombat?

    • DemonCouta says:

Waite at 499K, from the Kangas I assume. In the words of Sir Humphrey " so very courageous Minister"

  2. Winter says:

DEF: Shaw, Adams, Laird, Hampton, Otten, Vickers-Willis (Stewart, Guthrie)
MID: Danger, Pendles, JPK, Hanners, Fyfe, Beams, O'Meara, SPP (Barrett, Pickett, Hibberd)
    RUC: Nank, Sandi (Preuss)
FWD: Riewoldt, JJK, Dahlhaus, Roughy, Taranto, Butler (Eddy, Strnadica)
    5k left

Pendles vs Treloar is getting to me cause may need the extra cash depending on rookies

  3. Jake says:

Hey lads interested to hear your thoughts

    DEF – S. Docherty, T. Adams, R. Laird, C. Hampton, A. Otten, M. Hibberd
    (E. Vickers-Willis, T. Stewart)

    MID – P. Dangerfield, A. Treloar, N. Fyfe, T. Mitchell, D. Beams, M. Murphy, J'Omeara, D. Swallow
    (S. Powell-Pepper, J. Barrett, B. Parfitt)

    RUCK – A. Sandilands, J. Witts
    (D. Cameron)

    FWD – N. Riewoldt, L. Dahlhaus, J. Macrae, J. Roughead, T. Nankervis, T. Taranto
    (J. Pickett, B. Eddy)

    • discojim says:

love it! is Witts the real deal?

    • Kevan says:

What a midfield point scoring machine you have there Jake! Fyfe at M3 and hospital ward from M5>M8. With a similar point scoring forward line, cash generation could be a problem. Plenty of early points though.

      • Jake says:

I'm all for a strong midfield! Yes cash generation will be a problem, but I feel as though we are all in that boat this year.

I've made a couple of changes in Murphy + Swallow for Hanners and Wigg. Lowers my risk substantially, but not sure it will make me any more money, that 4th mid rookie spot is looking very slim currently.

    • kim says:

5 injury risks in the mids is a huge concern mate fyfe, beams, murphy, swallow and omeara. Get rid of murphy as least, pre season scores were terrible, certainly not a keeper and beams will outscore him easily.Rrucks could also go pear shaped for you, nothing to downgrade to if either goes down in first 4 rounds. Forward and defensive lines are solid though.

      • Jake says:

At this stage I've swapped Murphy + Swallow for Hanners and Wigg. I think also think Murphy may sit around that 100 mark this year and not be a keeper. Rucks can go pear shaped yes, If Witts or Sandi ends their season within the first 4 weeks it could be a disaster, so I'm even looking into a slightly safer structure with Goldi and Sandi, but that would be boring!

Question, Witts will go in with a very low pick rate this year as he is incredibly hard to fit in. But does his risk outweigh his reward?

        • Corky says:

Dude great team, however being a crowd supporter, Andy Otten won't get games once Jake Lever is back in. Wouldn't count on him getting much in the way of game time

    • Big Daz says:

Exciting side. Probably no need for M Murphy.

      • Jake says:

I agree mate, he's probably the worst pick of that side, but it's just what the structure allows at the moment, I'd have Josh Kelly instead if I could afford him.

Murphy may surprise a few people though, unsure why he has received the level of public criticism he has to be honest. The fact that not many people are actually selecting him now makes me even keener on him. His injuries are also very different in comparison to someone like Beams, in that he won't need management, and is a genuine chance to play every game.

  4. Ado81 says:

Any help appreciated. Thinking I may be going too deep in the mids. Like to get Marchbank but struggling to find the $$$ not fussed by no ruck cover but that may change when lockout comes around $35,000 left.

    Shaw Laird Howe
    EVW Otten (Guthrie, Stewart)

Danger Hanneberry Selwood Teloar Fyfe Ward Beams
    Pepper ( Atley, Pickett, Hibberd)

    Goldy Sandilands (Strnadica)

    Reiwoldt Franklin Roughead Taranto Parfitt
    Butler (Houson, Eddy)

    • Ado81 says:

      Hampton missing in the backline

    • Randomcliche2 says:

I'm sure you are aware of the risks that goldy has. Perhaps swap for grundy and baseline rookie up to marchbank? Keeps your structure, lower risk.

      • Ado81 says:

I've been toying with a slightly different structure where I downgrade Howe to Marchbank only have 2 defensive premos. Goldy to Grundy and bring in dahlhaus but plenty of time to tinker.

      • SClej says:

        Why is goldstein a risk?

        • Randomcliche2 says:

Firstly, the straight up hasn't done a full preseason. (Ankle) Then have a look at the write up on him preJLT, scores better in wins than losses, knee issues, Daw/Preuss risks of not going solo. That said he is a behemoth of the game and like Gaz will not be joining my team this year.

  5. Jarred. g says:

Def: shaw adams laird z.jones Hampton EVW (smith, Stewart).
Mid: danger jpk treloar Fyfe t.mitchell beams Taranto SPP (barret, pickett, hibberd).
    Ruck: grundy sandy (Cameron)
Forward: Dahlhaus macrae Roughead nankervis hoskin-Elliot florent (parfitt, eddy).
    Please critique/analyse.

    • Randomcliche2 says:

Zac Jones vs O'mera via Hibberd? Do you prefer Jones and think would score more and/or do you see him as a keeper? Note you can keep Toranto and SPP on field with Florent off via parfitt.

  6. Moe Szyslak says:

    THE MOOPS

DEF: Shaw, Rance, Laird, Hampton, Otten, Stewart (Hibberd, Vickers-Willis)
MID: Danger, Kennedy, Selwood, Treloar, Fyfe, Beams, JOM, SPP (Barrett, Miles, Atley)
    RUC: Gawn, Sandilands (Preuss)
FWD: Dahlhaus, Lynch, Roughhead, Nankervis, Parfitt, Eddy (Houston, Strndica)
    $59,000 remaining.

Just a little excerpt from Kant's "On History" – Enlightenment is man's release from his self-incurred immaturity tutelage. Tutelage is man's inability to make use of his understanding without direction from another. Self-incurred is this tutelage when its cause lies not in lack of reason but in lack of resolution and courage to use it without direction from another. Sapere aude! Dare to know! "Have courage to use your own reason." – that is the motto of enlightenment.

Despite the obvious irony/hypocrisy in my posting here to gather thoughts from others, the message remains: Enlightenment, courage, and reason. Let us be enlightened community!

    • bubble boy says:

you're team has a good name. good work. That's as far as my analysis has gotten so far.

    • Kevan says:

Couple of questions on rooks if you don't mind. Is Parfitt going to get a game? The Strndica/Preuss move is great. Cameron will generate points and cash, if he plays, have him on field in the fwds. I have Swallow instead of Beams and swapped Stewart for Marchbank. R1/2 the same, Gawn is still the best young ruckman out there. Thanks for the reveal Moe.

      • Kev says:

There was an article on Parfitt not long ago about him being "in line" for a round 1 debut. Guess we won't know until teams have dropped. Agree with you Kevan re: Cameron, though I reckon Str is there as a non playing captains loophole

  7. Dusty's Neck Tatts says:

DEF: Adams, Laird, Marchbank, Hampton, Hibberd, EVW (Stewart, Newman)

MID: Danger, JPK, Parker, Treloar, Shuey, Fyfe, Beams, Taranto (SPP, Barret, Greenwood)

    RUC: Grundy, Sandi (Cameron)

FWD: Dahl, Buddy, Ryder, Roughy, Kanye Turner, Picket (Eddy, Houston)

Rookies are subject to change, I've just got placeholders with common rookie pricing until round one teams.
Also willing to change Beams & Grundy into either T-Mitch & Stef Martin or Swallow & Gawn, depending on RD1 teams

  8. STICKERS says:

Docherty Shaw Adams Marchbank Hampton Otten
    – Vickers, stewart

    Dangerfield Treloar Fyfe Titchell Beams
O'Meara Swallow SPP – Wigg Barrett Hibberd

    Sandilands Witts – Stridika

NRiewoldt Dahlhaus Franklin Macrae Nankervis McCarthy
    – Black Eddy

    • Marco_Polo94 says:

Very strong forward and defensive lines, will lose money most likely (especially forwards) but should score you some serious points. Hope your thin ruck line doesn't stuff ya mate, good luck

  9. GreyBradman says:

Tricky selection process for Leaners FC at the farm these last few weeks –

Shaw, Laird, Adams, Marchbank, Hampton, Otten (VW, Stewart)
Danger, Jelwood, Hannebery, JPK, Treloar, Fyfe, OMeara, SPP (Pickett, Hibberd, Atley)
    Gawn, Sandi (Strndica)
Dalhaus, Roughy, Nank, Taranto, Turner, Eddy (Houston, Parfitt)

    26k in bank

A loaded mid, thin up fwd. Will it work? Give it to me?

    • Matze says:

I'm going similarly thin up fwd to stack the mids. Except only going to F2. Then have Taranto McCarthy Pickett and eddy onfield. Brave. Roll the dice and brace. Risk it for the biscuit!

    • Randomcliche2 says:

An interesting version of gnr with only 14 keepers + O'mera as a stone… the rest are essentially rookies…some very expensive. Good luck with the cash generation machine you have created.

    • Big Daz says:

Worse forward line ever. Get Roo or JJK in now , son.

  10. Keenbutclueless says:

Def. Adams Laird Mills Marchbank Hampton Stewart (EVE, Otten)
Mid. danger JPK Treloar Selwood Fyfe JOM Swallow SPP (Barrett, Parfitt, Deluca-Carrillo)
    Ruck. Martin Sandi (Cameron)
Fwd. Dahl Gunston Caddy Roughy Nankervis Turner (Pickett Eddy)

May go back to Titchell at F6 and a rookie to replace JOM and Swallow. Back and forth on this a lot. Means Turner down to Pickett. I think Barrett might have job security but enough good judges on this site are not so sure, so I am wavering.

    • Marco_Polo94 says:

Personally I've gone deep in midfield because I don't back anymore than 3 of those mid rookies. I've gone thinner across other lines and hoping my cash generation is made in my defence and forwards, while hopefully picking correct mid pricers to sideways to fallen premos later in the season… could bite me though!

  11. meph says:

    Would love any advice first time posting my team on here;

DEF: Shaw, Adams, Howe, Marchbank, Hampton, EVW

MID: Danger, Treloar, Bont, Fyfe, Tmitch, Beams, JOM, SPP

    RUCK: Goldy, Sandi

FWD: Dahl, Buddy, Rough, Nank, Taranto, Pickett

Does anyone think im better off finding the cash to turn Shaw into Doc? Would help with the byes but not sure if it would hurt my overall structure.

  12. ekcjoe says:

Am I the only poster a bit weirded out by the constant sexual references here. (I kinda just gloss over them in my tent out front as my girlfriend mows her lawn whilst trying out a pearl necklace … blah blah)

Is anyone willing to risk not picking Danger? Geelong look set to have a rocky start to the year, and are already speaking about reworking the midfield so that a player like Horlin-Smith (a $2shop version of Danger) gets more of a look-in). Is there money to be made in waiting for his price to drop a little?

"Rookies are subject to change" actually sounds like zen-master wisdom when you think about it.

    • Randomcliche2 says:

Not really. Gawn Danger Fyfe. I think you need two of three for vc and c options most weeks. I'm not starting Gawn if spencer named.

    • Lachlan7829 says:

I don't actually have Danger, but have Dependlebury, Fyfe, JPK and even Doch to an extent as legitimate C options.

    • Loop says:

Its all a bit blokey, with dreams of the trouser stretching being noticeable, but I dont fit the standard profile (I'm old and female) so I just gloss over the references too because I love supercoach and this is an awesome community.

      • DemonCouta says:

Thank you for being understanding. Most of this community is old and male, likre myself. Most of the rest is male and "middle aged" (older than me). Trouser stretching is aspirational.

    • Kevan says:

I think Danger will just be very expensive when you try to get him in later in the season, need some serious cash generation for just one player. George Horlin-Smith, if he plays, does not look too bad as an expensive rookie, his figures for cash generation and points scoring outweigh a lot of other rookies.

  13. John says:

Someone tell me why I shouldn't or should pick roughy

  14. Coz311 says:

Def: Simpson Laird Lloyd Marchbank Hampton EVW (Otten, Stewart)
Mid: Danger Treloar Cripps Fyfe Shiel Beams Swallow SPP (Miles, Hibberd, Barrett)
    Ruck: Goldy Sandi (Strnadica)
Fwd: Riewoldt Dalhaus Higgins Nankervis Pickett Butler (Houston,Eddy)

Been too safe previous years so i have a popular risk (Higgins) and a borderline dumb pick (Shiel) to keep me entertained.

    • TheGreatBozza says:

I like this lineup. Good spread across all lines and I rate the Shiel pick. He's still improving so could be a smoky to crack top 10-15

  15. min0008 says:

Def: Shaw, Laird, Adams, Hampton, Otten, Vickers Willis (M hibberd, Stewart)
Mid: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Selwood, Fyfe, Miitchell, Beams, O Meara, Barrett (Powell pepper, Wigg, Balic)
    Ruc: Gawn, Sandilands (Cameron)
Fwd: Dahlhaus, Macrae, Ryder, Black, Pickett, Allison (Daicos, Eddy)

Does this team have one gun midfileder too many? Still got $230k in the bank

    • TheGreatBozza says:

I think your midfield numbers are fine, I'm running a similar structure. It's the FWD line that scares me as I just don't rate Ryder at F3, but that's my opinion

    • Randomcliche2 says:

With 230k black could be nank! Ruck cover at a bargain price. I am running a similar midfield as well.

  16. Troy says:

Here are my options at the moment

    Docherty D1, Shaw D2 & Adams D3

    Hannebry M2, Priddis M4

    Butler at F6

    or

    Shaw D1, Adams D2, Laird D3

    Selwood M2, T.Mitchell M5

    Hoskin-Elliott F5

Dont want to give away my POD's but PLEASE help

  17. TheGreatBozza says:

    The Tex Factor

DEF: Shaw Adams Laird Hampton Hibberd Stewart (EVW, Otten)
MID: Danger, JPK, Treloar, Bont, Fyfe, Beams, JOM, SPP (Barrett, Parfitt, Wigg)
    R: Grundy, Sandi (Cameron)
FWD: Roo, Dahl, Roughy, Nank, Miles, Houston (Pickett, Eddy)

$147,000 free for rookie adjustments to bring in Marchbank or Taranto pending selections

The questions id love to ask the community are this:
    1. Buddy over Nank? I'd swing Cameron forward and Strndica in the ruck. It'll use my bank but bring in a premo. My concern is that I'll then be stuck with the lower price on field rooks instead of a more certain Taranto or Marchbank
    2. JOM to Taranto? I think JOM will score a hell of a lot better but does Taranto present better value
    3. Adams to Lloyd or another sub 500k DEF? Again this is about value and a better defensive bye structure
    4. Bont vs TMitch vs Selwood. Go
    5. NANKILANDS! I don't know if I have the balls but it would mean a deeper FWD line or possible an extra premo down back

I'd love to hear your thoughts

    • Steeeve says:

      1. Buddy is much safer but his price shouldn't increase too much. If it does it will come back down.
      2. Barring injury JOM has much better job security.
      3. If you want to downgrade Adams perhaps consider Touhy.
      4. I'm big on all 3. Personally see Titch having the best value.
      5. If you like Grundy back him in

      • Daniel says:

        1. Buddy is a known commodity in a top 4 side.
        2. JOM is a prime mover in the hawks midfield. Taranto will rotate in and out which will effect his scoring (I have him as my F8 though).
        3. Although Adams has had a bad run with injuries he is basically a fallen premo midfielder who has a massive ceiling (like beams) and can be picked in the backline. I think he picks himself.
        4. TMitch for me given his price and new team. Put up very consistent and sometimes huge numbers at Sydney last year and he was 4th in the pecking order. Prime rover now for a possession heavy hawks side. Bont and Selwood are way better footballers, but both can sometimes have quiet stretches for no apparent reason.
        5. Personally I'm going Ryder and Sandilands. Both are great tap ruckman and don't have to do a lot to score well. Grundy has a big ceiling as he can go get his own cherry. He is a good pick and will be a strong POD.

  18. IntheNickofTime says:

    Here goes…

    Doch Shaw Laird
Hampton Vickers Stewart Newman (SYD) Ryan

    Danger JJK
    Treloar Priddis Fyfe
Lloyd Swallow SPP Barrett Pickett Hibberd (NTH)

    Gawn Sandilands Strnadica

    Roo Dahl Lynch (GC)
Taranto Black Eddy T Smith (MELB) Bolton (RIC)

All of the players who have been dumped all are coming in with niggles or injuries like Montagna, Pendles, Grundy and Sloane.

I love the wise words of Patch, but I know that my mid-pricer will come though – Lloyd was one of my first picked. Have been playing with the idea of Zilliams from day too but can't figure out if I show go Shaw, Z Williams or Kade.

Ryder, Gunston and Josh Kelly floating around as well. Thoughts?

  19. Cheap sk8 says:

Hi there community this is a bit off track but dose anybody know it it is possible to access live Supercoach scores without subscription to the Herald Sun ?

    • SCaddict says:

I don't believe so. A few of the mobile apps as well as the FanFooty site used to display live (or slightly delayed) SC scores last season until the HS clamped down. So if you don't want to pay up you will have to settle for free DT scores only.

One of the few aspects of Supercoach that blows compared to the DT comps.

  20. Marco_Polo94 says:

Adams, Laird, Mills, Hampton, Otten, Stewart, (EVW, Guthrie)

Danger, Jelwood, Treloar, Fyfe, Mitchell, M. Crouch, Beams, JOM (Barret, SPP, Hibberd)

    Hickey, Sandi (Strong-dick)

Riewoldt, Dahlhaus, Nank, Roughy, Schoenmakers, Black (Eddy, Houston)

Rip me apart community, the more criticism the better.

    • Keenbutclueless says:

I understand the Crouch call. I reckon though you should have only one of Crouch or Mitchell. I would let SPP on the ground, get Schoenmakers off and put in one more premium forward. I am starting to believe we can't carry two rookies in our forward line. In your team, you have SPP on the bench, but Schoenmakers and Black on the field. I really believe that SPP will out score both of them. Think that might be points left on the bench.

      • Keenbutclueless says:

Thinking about this more, you might even be able to leave Crouch and Titchell, but lose Beams. I think if Black goes down to Pickett, you might be able to get Caddy.

        • Marco_Polo94 says:

Appreciate the feedback mate. SPP on the bench is something I've had for a while as I'm just not sure he will score enough points on field (many will start him at M8 and if he shits the bed its a big jump for me). I'll tinker around with what I can do with the extra cash and see how it balances my team structure.

    • Randomcliche2 says:

I am running the same 16 keeper (Inc sandi/nank/roughy types) + O'mera structure but weighted a bit more forward though with spp on field. Good luck

    • Big Daz says:

Reasonable side of you remove Schoenmakers and Black. M Crouch a concern as well.

      • Marco_Polo94 says:

I've taken on the advice and now have spp on field and strengthened my forward line. It was a fair shout considering how little the forward rookies seem to be offering. Cheers fellas

  21. MOC says:

Hoping this will be the final edition of "Ninth Again" before kick-off (baring rookies/injuries). HAVE AT IT!

Simpson, Laird, Howe, Marchbank, Hampton, Stewart, Vickers-Willis, Otten
Dangerfield, JPK, Treloar, Fyfe, Beams, O'Meara, SPP, Taranto, Wigg, Pickett, Barrett
    Grundy, Sandi, Strndica
Dahlhaus, Roo, Lynch, Roughead, Nankervis, Butler, Black, Eddy

  22. WEEVZ says:

Here's my team, hoping on an improvement to last year (where I was ranked inside the top 420 players in the country after 4 rounds, before being struck by injuries)!

Here goes (bare in mind this is still a work in progress and will likely change again before the first centre bounce of Round 1)…

    BACKS: T.Adams, R.Laird, J.Lloyd, C.Hampton, E.Vickers-WIllis, T.Stewart (A.Otten, M.Hibberd)
    MIDS: P.Dangerfield, D.Hannebery, J.Selwood, Z.Merrett, A.Treloar, N.Fyfe, D.Beams, S.Powell-Pepper (J.Barrett, J.Pickett, B.Parfitt)

    FWDS: L.Dahlhaus, T.Greene, J.Roughead, J.Steele, T.Taranto, D.Butler (D.Houston, B.Eddy)

    97.4k left in the kitty.

    • Gawn out camping says:

Good POD in selwood, merrett to a pendles or JPK is a safer bet. Ablett if you want to keep as a pod even

  23. Whitey says:

Def: Adams, Laird, Thurlow, March, Hampton, Otten

Mid: Danger, Treloar, Priddis, Fyfe, T Mitchell, Crouch, Beams, SPP

    Ruck: Nakilands

Fwd: Roo, Dal, McRae, Roughy, Taranto, Miles

Tear me a new one boys.

  24. Gawn out bush says:

Def: docherty, shaw, laird, hampton, EVW, otten (hibbered, stewart)

Mids: Danger, Pendles, JPK, treloar, fyfe, beams, JOM, SPP ( wigg, milies, barrett)

    Rucks: gawn, sandi (strnadica)

Fwds: roo, dalhaus, roughy, taranto, pickett, eddy ( butler, parfitt)

    74k left over.
Be honest be brutal. Finished top 200 last year, like to push higher

    • Randomcliche2 says:

Great finish! I am running 16 potential keepers plus O'mera. You are running an equivalent of 14. You finished higher than yours truely. Perhaps I am way too optimistic of my value picks….do you have a trading plan to full premo? If so when do you get there?

  25. Danners says:

Righto, what have I got up the trouser is a different team. After listening to the podcast, I made a few adjustments to my team

DEF: Shaw, Adams, Laird, Hampton, Otten, Vickers-Willis (M.Hibberd, Stewart)
MID: Danger, JPK, Treloar, Life, Titch, Beams, Swallow, SPP (Barrett, Wigg, Parfitt)
    RUCK: Grundy, Sandilands (Strnadica)
FWD: Dahlhaus, Buddy, Macrae, Roughead, Taranto, Eddy (Houston, Pickett)
    $28k in the bank

    Few things to note:
Pendles will probably be in my team if he is 100% round 1. I can't see myself paying $645k for Gawn and have doubts over him, maybe midseason upgrade. If Sandi goes down early, I will wield the axe on Taranto and use cash to upgrade.

Rip my team apart community! Any thoughts welcome

  26. Cliffy says:

Right this almost looks close to my final team for Rd 1, certainly has been more tricky to navigate around the pre-season this time around in terms of all the mid-pricers that have presented themselves besides some rookies…

    Cliffy FC currently…

DEF: Shaw, Adams, Laird, Marchbank, Hampton, Otten (T.Stewart, EVW)

MID: Danger, JPK, Selwood, Fyfe, Pendles/Treloar (for M5), Beams, O'Meara, SPP (Barrett, Pickett, Hibberd)

    RUC: Grundy, Sandi (Strnadica)

FWD: Dahlhaus, Macrae, Roughead, Nankervis, Miles, Butler (Houston, Eddy)

With Treloar currently in over Pendles that leaves me with $61,300 remaining.

Fly kick my team, welcome any thoughts!

    • Cliffy says:

Oh another conundrum is definitely on my MID bench I think, I like Barrett and Pickett's chances of cracking Rd 1 more than Hibberd, if the later can't crack North's Rd 1 22 then I'll probably opt for Parfitt.

  27. Happy Fyfe says:

Am I just waiting for injuries to wipe out this team? YOLO as lek would say!

    • jezzahill says:

Way too much risk in the mids for mine. Oliver, O'Meara and Swallow won't finish as top 10 mids and at their elevated starting price will all need flying starts to generate the cash required for upgrades later on. I'd flick one for a rookie and upgrade another to a proven premo. Of those three, I'd probably keep Jaeger.

Your thoughts boys would be most appreciated.

    • Coz311 says:

Really rate the Shuey selection as a POD, Mitchell should help him greatly. Greene and Adams suspect but just my opinion if you rate them go for it :) Selwood over danger is interesting but i don't mind it.

North expected to lose more this year

    • Steeeve says:

I'd personally use the cash to upgrade either Lloyd or Steele.

I had Crouch as well but backed off. Won't be a top 10 mid and won't make much money. Downgraded him to D Swallow who should at least make some money, even if it is a slow burn.

Throwing my team into the wolf pack:

Sensational site btw Jock and Co. I giggle like a school boy listening to the podcasts.

DEF – Doc, heater, laird, adams, Hampson, EWV, otten, stewart

MID – Danger, JPK, jelwood, treloar, fyfe, titch, SPP, parfitt, picket, miles, hibbered

    RUC – SandliWitts, Cameron

FWD – Daul, Macrae, Rough, Nank, butler, houstan, eddy, black

    53K remaining.

I count 12 premos, and we will see how sandi, nank, rough pan out. 15 rookies which I tend to go for. I am of the opinion that sandi/rough are fallen premiums. Witts is in as an expensive rookie who I prefer over the other expensive popular rookies/midpricers. Spencer and how good he played made me very nervous on gawn.

    • fatboyfat7 says:

I like it, planning on using Black as your loophole?

      • CJ1984 says:

yea I see black as a potential loophole and slow burning money maker. He will play at some point if its not round 1.

    $74.6k remaining. Critique, Pros/Cons.

    • Danners says:

Pros-Nice structure not too many midpricers not one line is weak
Cons-Black probably will be in and out of the Cats side, look at Clark last year

    RUC- Grundy, Sandy (Preuss/Cameron)

FWD- Roo, Dahlhaus, Greene, Taranto, Miles, Eddy (Black, Begley)

Docherty will be the same as last year and although pricey will be giving all owners a point advantages pre byes and is just a gun. Adams plays mid obvious. Tuohy is there because I am saving the $100k which was originally laird but I feel laird can only average 95 which is very managable for Tuohy at his new club with his new role.

Gone deep in mids due to lack of rookies. Beams used to average 110+ and strong pre season, great value. Deluca cardildo for my floating doughnut.

Grundy Will be 1,2 or 3 by end of year/ he is a gun and I feel as if Gawn will drop with spencer in team. Sandy ex premo, no cover cos he won't get injured ;). Cameron/ Preuss whoever plays Rd1.

Roo is a gun and will remain #1 fwd. Greene bcos he plays for Giants. Taranto will get mid time.

    Cheers boys

  42. Hammer says:

Forwards: N Riewoldt, Dahlhaus, T Lynch, Gunston, The Nank, Taranto (Butler, Eddy)

A lot more mid pricers than I usually would like but overall I'm quite happy with it.

I can see Thurlow average 80-85 and while that won't make him a keeper, he should increase in value well by being a nice on field option. Similar argument for Marchbank although in truth I'm not as convinced about him…

Mids don't need to be explained. Essentially it came down to a choice of Taranto in mid and Roughy up front or JOM in midfield and Taranto up front…. I went for JOM because even though he'll require an upgrade, expecting Roughy to play 22 games is a massive ask. He's spent a year out with cancer, that going to seriously impact his body and endurance. I hope to be proven wrong though….

Rucks are very risky… Will look to move Witts on ASAP. Have The Nank to cover if required.

I've invested heavily in my forwards, hope Lynch gets off to a flyer. His early bye has him excluded from a lot of teams understandably. Not 100% sold on Gunstn, have the spare cash to make him Josh Kennedy, considering it…

Would love your thoughts, I'm expecting my rucks and mid price back line to cop some abuse!

    Good luck to all!

    • Danners says:

A solid team fatboyfat7. As mentioned in the podcast I think, you should only go one of Thurlow or Marchbank. They're not assured to make plenty of cash and to average well. The ruck division is risky like you've said, probably better off going with someone a bit more reliable. 3/4 of your forwards are KPPs, they could be inconsistent at times.

  47. Ryan says:

Why am I not seeing many people with Priddis…. I currently got him as I think he is the most underrated SuperCoach pick ever and he is too much of a beast but I want to know why no one is picking him

    • fatboyfat7 says:

Dunno Ryan, seems to happen every year. Priddis and Selwood never get the selection % they deserve. No doubting he's a solid pick though…

      • Coz311 says:

He just doesnt seem to get into anyones preliminary team probably because he is just a pure worker and isn't that attractive. Then everyone panics with their PODs and follows teams they see. I'm running with Shiel as a POD (probably too unique that it's silly) and have been considering Shuey as POD over priddis but wouldn't have an issue with either.

    • Danners says:

He is underrated a solid POD option, but for $20k more you can get one of the Sydney mids or Treloar for $10k more

  48. Stuckin1au says:

    Hello community!
    I have a few dillemas.
    1. I want ro run two mid pricers in the midfield. That leaves me 8 deep but with 2-4 in defence and 3-3 forward.
    2. Not sure with Treloar or Pendles
    3. Want to fit in J selwood somewhere but not sure
    4.Ruck structures a mess.

Would like to see anyone with an idea out of left field

    • Danners says:

      Righto Matt
      1. You'll need to cull one of mid premos
      2. I'm not sure either, Pendles probably would be preferred but if not 100% fit go Treloar
      3. Jelwood is a good POD, don't know your team so I can't say much more
      4. Seems the most popular ruck structure is a premo and midpricer of Nankilands

    —–

Obviously a risky ruck outfit but its provided me with a solid platform of keepers in every other position. The another key issue is my rookie mid bench appears to have 3 blokes who's name end with double T. Could be a major issue during the bye rounds when my nan pops on a sombrero and starts whipper snippering people's ankles standing in line at Aldi.

$91K in the bank…If Martin doesn't play as lone ruckman may go down to Nank and upgrade Steele to Roo? Had Priddis in an earlier version, but think Hall will smash it early and is good value…money in the bank allows for changes re rookies (Otten into DEF obvious, Taranto/McCarthy into FWD possibly?)

Would love to put Zorko/Rockliff into my team but feel Beams offers better value…and thinking upgrade JOM to Zorko/Rockliff eventually…still not convinced by my forwards (esp Macrae & Steele) and could easily be persuaded to put Roo and/or Buddy in…not convinced by Caddy at all yet…Greene is tempting tho'…gawd, what a mess…playing Supercoach, Dreamteam, and AFL Fantasy…it just messes with the mind… But bloody hell it makes work on a Friday arvo easier to get through! I havent been posting much community, however ive been hard at work in preparation for the 2017 season. I finished top 800 last year and have a mighty desire to finish in the top 5 this year. Here is my team.

    6K left

Def: Docherty, Adams, Laird, Hampton, Otten, Vicker-willis/// Newman, Stewart

Mid: Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Kennedy, Cripps, Fyfe, Beams, Omeara, SPP/// Miles, Hibberd, Parfitt

    Rucks: Grundy, Sandilands/// Strangledicker

Forward: Dalhaus, Macrae, Higgins, Roughead, Tarranto, Picket// Houston, Eddy

I would be 110% sold on cripps if it wasnt for his injury which had kept him out of my side for a while. However during the last JLT match he looks to be fit and have the injury behind him and am thus using him as a POD and also hoping for him to finish top 10 mids. O meara is also someone that hasnt been in my side before JLT. With the departure of hawthorn mids I look for him to finish top 2-3 inside the Hawthorn midfield which will hopefully see him get a 90 AVG and be used as a stepping stone.
    Beams locks himself in.
I was never keen on Grundy however to fit in Omeara and Taranto I had to substitute gawn for grundy. I dont see Grundy going down on his average from last year.
    Heres the big one.
    HIGGINS.
Although to many in this community he is seen as a burnman, the only time I have ever had Higgins was in 2015 when he ended up being my best selection for the year. I hope he can average 95+ with the depleted north midfield.

So here it is community, this is the team I wll be going in with and the only thing likely to change is rookies depending on Round 1.
I will appreciate any and all feedback. Good luck to everyone in this community.

    • Danners says:

Looks good Mamba. Looks a similar structure to what I have at the moment. The only problem I would have is Higgins, too much of an injury risk for mine I suppose you've gone in with him as you had Heeney before. Otherwise a solid team

  64. Kings NB says:

Doc Adam laird Marchbank Hampton Stewart ( otten, EVW)

Danger Pendles jpk jselwood Fyfe o’meara swallow SPP (Barrett, miles, parfitt)

    Gwan Sandilands (strnadica)

Dahlhaus macrae Roughead navkervis Taranto Pickett (Houston, eddy)

With $12300 don't like the swallow pick but don't no who else to pick around that price.

any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Zak Jones or Ed Vickers Willis or Andy Otten?

    Question for the community:
Nankilands and Rooey at F1 or (any forward)with at least 110,000 in the back
    OR
Grundy and Sandy with Gunston or any other forward under 502,000 with no money in the bank

    Thanks

Decided to take an opposite approach this season. What does the community think?
Backs: H.Shaw, Taylor Adams, Bob Murphy, andy otten, curtly hampton. Zach Touhy, vickers willis, steward
Mids: danger, fyfe, Josh Kennedy, zorko, shiel, dahlhaus, watson, o'meara, barrett, hibbatd, powel pepper
    Rucks: ryder, sandy, cameron
Forwards: roughy, steele, petracca, nankervis, eddy, jarrod pickett, Arron black, parfit,

    • Burnmen says:

      Opposite to what?

Mate that forward line is thin.

Let's assume Roughy and Nank ave 85+, steele and petracca play forward and you may end up with donuts by round 5 due to rookies (if worse comes to worse)

The rest is alright I guess

  69. Andrew says:

DEF: Shaw, Adams, Laird, Hampton , Hibberd, Otten (Stewart / Guthrie)

Mid: Danger, Pendles, Hannebery, Fyfe, Beams, O'Mers, Swallow, SPP (Barrett, Pickett, Foote)

    Ruck: Gawn, Grundy (Strndica)

Fwd: Dahlhaus, Lynch, Greene, Steele, Taranto, Eddy (Houston, Bayok)

Seems I am the only one going in Sandi Less.
The way I see it one 520k ruckman and a POD somewhere else (I.e Lynch) will score more than Nank and Sandi – yes a risk as I won't make as much $$.
Not willing to take Sandi without genuine cover.

Still tossing up between 2/3 of Beams, O'Mera and Swallow.

Chosen a $102k on each line to save a bit of coin and are mostly DPP.

  70. Dan says:

Always start considerably left field and get more responsible right up until my unlimited trades are taken away. Currently looking at this line up:

    MID:
Dangerfield, Priddis, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Mitchell (Haw), Beams, O’Meara, SPP (Barret, Hibberd, Pickett)

    RUC:
    Gawn, Sandilands (Cameron)

    FWD:

Couple of points of difference players in there.

G'day all I've got a league I'm hoping to fill with some of the top 1% players from this forum!
I finished 982 last year so use that as a bit of a gauge.. If you finished top 1k or think you're gonna push close to it this year then join up!

Fwd: Dahlhaus, Macrae, Roughie, Steele, Taranto, Eddy. Bench: Pickett, Begley.

Still $160k sitting there which I'll look to utilise. Would like an extra premium in the middle but I can't look past Heppell and Watson at that value. Both will average >105

As always, rookies will change. The other change I'm considering is downgrading the Bont to fill a hole in DEF or FWD made by a missing/not named rookie. I feel the MIDs have the safest options with regards to spending on premiums and guaranteed keepers, and also the weakest for rookies, hence the depth.

I think I've got the best spread I can get for the byes
