Supercoach 2014

Very interesting long weekend of fantasy footy ahead community!

Langford’s out, Enright’s back, Lloyd looks like he’s on the outer at Tigerland, we’re weighing up whether to blow a few more trades or whether we should start to tuck a few away in the back pocket…

Essential time of the season this. Those with less than elite mental endurance start to get sloppy. Those with cold hard balls of steel and rock solid discipline excel.

Let’s get stuck in!

  1. Big Ben says:

    In like Flynn

  2. scano says:

Libba should absolutely dominate with Big minson dominating in the ruck agains an inexperienced brisbane ruckmen! watch out for a crazy score

    • The Garbo says:

I've been switching between ablett/Pendles and Libba/Ablett all week. An hour ago i finally decided to stick with ablett/pendles.
But now that you've made me realise that martin is going up vs minson ive switched back to libba/ablett for nearly the 4th time this week

  3. Tomjy says:

Pick Barlow up this week or wait for Johsnon

  4. Dom says:

How many trades should we have?

  5. Turls says:

16 trades left but still a while away from as close to an all premium team as possible.

Defense still has Langdon, McDonald, (Langford)
Mids still has Tyson, Polec, Dunstan (Hartung)
    Fwds has Shenton (Steven May)

    Ie.. still running rookies at D5, D6, M6, M7, M8 and F6

    $168k in the bank. Thinking:
Cashing out on Polec given his BE -> Hanley (via McDonald or Langdon)
    May -> Tex Walker

    Bit lost, Any suggestions?

    • Rocksta says:

      Yea, start trading!
6 On field Rookies is simply too much for this Stage of the season.
Polec must go this week……………..Turn into Goddard or Swanny or Barlow or Sloane ( or Seve J, even though he will be much cheaper next week).
Perhaps downgrade Dunstan to Zach O'Brien, and then turn Polec into Barlow.
This should still leave you with enough cash to turn Tyson into Steve J next week after his significant price drop this week.

      • Pompous Git says:

        +1

        • Azmataz says:

Trade ass off Turls! I would trade Tyson straight up to Rocky. Bring in O'Brien next week and trade Langdon for either Malceski, Swallow, Simpson, McVeigh, Hibberd etc (whoever you don't have).

Keep Shenton for awhile up forward.

  6. Hazey says:

Yr not on yr own being lost old mate!

I think I’m just going to back in Polec, hold Wingard n wait a week or two for a bit more fattening, premo falls n fresh meat to present?!?!

    • Cratzy says:

Polec has just signed up for Jenny Craig and Wingard is half way through the biggest loser. Both need to go ASAP.

    • The Garbo says:

Glad to know if Polec's ship sinks – im not the only fool aboard.
As I'm also going against general concensus by holding him as my M8.

  7. Joey Joe Joe says:

    Can't make up my mind…

Lloyd out for Walker and have $200k in the kitty (but have to potentially trade up again later on). OR Lloyd out for R. Gray, no kitty, but finalise the forward line and (bar injury) no additional trade required.

12 trades left – would love some guidance!

  8. Tim says:

Hey Jock, thoughts on bringing in a non-playing rookie to use as a loophole for the rest of the year? I've got a premo fwd line with Tex coming in this week.

    • Bruce says:

I would bring in M Honeychuch from bulldogs as they have most late round games. He also has mid/fwd swing that could be useful. I am using both J Hunt from melbourne mid/def swing and Honeychurch. You could also use Thurlow with his fwd/ruck swing if you are going to suck the cash out of R3 later on.

    • Cratzy says:

That's an oxymoron. Having Tex in your forward line stops it being premo. He's a KPF with one big score and two shockers. Wasting trades.

  9. Mike says:

    Best Option?

    Option 1. W.Langford > J.Bartel & A.Polec > T.Walker (DPP Swing)
    Option 2 A.Georgiou > G.Birchall & A.Polec > T.Walker (DPP Swing)
    Option 3 A.Georgiou > S.Hurn & A.Polec > T.Walker (DPP Swing)
    Option 4 – A.Georgiou > J.Bartel & A.Polec > C.Shenton

  10. Gab says:

    first of all J. Polec
And secondly option 4 for me

  11. Gab says:

    option 1 sorry

  12. Matt says:

Guys would love some thoughts on Polec. Hold or trade? I’m leaning more towards trading him to a Barlow. Thoughts? Cheers

  13. Hazey says:

I’m thinking of backing him to get close to his break even then it’s a one trade move to Johnson or a 2 trade move to a super premium elite kick ass mid….namely JKH…

  14. D Man says:

Iv got 2 Mids premos to go and Stevie J is one of them.
I need to bring in the other this week for Polec.
Bring in Fyfe or Barlow. (I can afford either)

  15. Matt says:

What do people think of BIG BOY Mcevoy? Missed two weeks with a corked hamstring, which means I'm gonna get another zero this week unless I trade him. And regardless of zeros, I dont think I want the type of bloke who misses two and a half games from a corked hammy in my side. Straight swap to Mumford? Cheers

    • @jimbeard18 says:

Consider Nic Nat, we know he can produce premium output and at only 388k odd with a BE of 40 make 74K to spend elsewhere and avoid Mcevoy's 142 breakeven!

    • julz says:

I'm in the same boat Matt. Sick of the 'Big Boy', keeps missing games over what should only be poxy niggly injuries, I'm thinking of punting him although I have Dericx at least as back-up.
With only 12 trades left not sure if I want to use a trade to get rid of him though. And if so not sure if I can trust a NicNat/Sandi ruck combo when NicNat burnt me last year. Thinking of going to Minson, not sure if I trust Mumford either (been burnt by him too in the past!)
      Interested in others thoughts too.

  16. @jimbeard18 says:

I'm really keen to bring in Treloar this week, low BE and huge POD in only 2.92% of teams. And I think he will avg 105-115 for the rest of the season !

Need the communities opinion on whether to cull Tyson (attainable BE this week) or Cotchin?

Is Cotchin still a premium even though he's dishing out trash week in week out?

    • Cratzy says:

Cotch is gone from premium ranks. Punt him.

    • WombatsFC says:

Cotchin is a serious leak in midfield that must be fixed but so is Tyson. I'd consider turning one or both of them into a def or fwd (90 ave on these lines is ok) and swinging Danger, bartell, gray, or mcveigh into the middle to plug the leaks.

      • Pompous Git says:

Great strategy Wombats old boy! Might have to run with it myself!

IMO Cotchin is bigger headache than Tyson, at least the Demon is scoring the odd ton and cost bugger all to begin with and this year it’s the Tigers looking to be the biggest problem child.

They are both almost a straight swap to Parker or Bird, but Gray is well worth paying a few extra shekels for.

    • Jimbo says:

I've had Treloar from the start. Grab him. He is a very consistent prolific scorer. I'd hold onto Tyson. Do the same with Cotchin for now.

    • LukTon says:

I think at this point in the season (and assuming a lack of abundance of wasteful trades) you'd be best off to back Cotchin in for the rest of the season. Why?

Think where trades can be BETTER spent elsewhere. Bar a few very low scores, Tyson's scoring has been very good round by round. What is the guarantee this will continue? Cotchin has shown in the past that his current scoring is basically close to recent career worst form. What is the guarantee that this will change?

I'd say that both of these players should be of little concern for trading, especially if you have other areas of your team that you could address to gain some significant scoring from, such as maybe a rookie F6 or D6 (or even 5 if you're running with two rookies in these positions).

Honestly, out of the two of Cotchin and Tyson, I'd be dumping Cotchin. It seems that Cotchin has been identified as a player of most importance to contain, and is attracting the best tag week in and week out. Tyson on the other hand seems to be a player of a lesser elk, and is attracting far less attention because of it, allowing him to have a greater overall impact on a game of football (and hense the great scoring).

TL:DR – Cotchin is a much better player, yet Tyson is having a greater impact the outcome of a match. Touch call who to trade out!

(As a final note, I can see Cotchin in your final midfield, but not Tyson…dunno why and probably just my opinion)

      • Azmataz says:

Both are around the same price. Definitely trade Tyson over Cotchin! Cotchin is a premium and will come good. I am considering trading him in when he has bottomed out. Tyson is a rookie and has made you cash. Time to go.

  17. Mozz says:

With 12 trades left i'm really trying to conserve my trades, but i'm being lured into Tex Walker after reading tight arse tuesday.

Is it worth going Taylor –> Walker. Will leave me with 50k and 11 trades left for the season.
IS TEX SOMEONE TO HAVE FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON!?
    someone please help

    • Cratzy says:

No, Tex is fools gold. Scores of 55, 55 and 150 lures you in. If he went 150, 55, 55 would you still want him? Didn't think so.

    • Jimbo says:

I considered him too but there are plenty of better options ahead of Taylor Walker. If you don't have him already, grab Robbie Gray or Brent Harvey.

    • LukTon says:

      Hey Mozz,

I'd say its a little too early to tell, but based on previous years, he could be.

I say when picking ANY forward in Supercoach, imagine if they kick two goals in a game. WHERE ELSE are they going to get their scoring from?

Will they kick 5 goals every weel? If not, are they the type of player to rack up possessions, or tackle a whole team by themself? Are they going to take 5-10 marks a game? If they don't, are they good at getting the contested ball, or intercepting opposing kicks and handballs?

I honestly don't know enough about Tex to answer these questions, but maybe ask yourself if you think that Tex can provide consistent scoring when he doesn't do what forwards are supposed to do? (which is quite often taking into account key pos forwards this year)

      • Azmataz says:

Beautiful insight there LukTon son. Couldn't of said it better myself. Just because he is cheap doesn't mean you should trade him in..

  18. Bruce says:

Trade asap. lock in the cash gained for a premium and move on.

  19. Tommy says:

    Is there any defensive rookies?

    • Daniel says:

      Maybe Litherland

    • Pompous Git says:

I dont think either of those have decent JS.

As soon as Lake is back at Hawthorn (not sure when), Litherland will go, and Christensen is back for the Cats in the VFL this week, and will walk straight into Bews spot if he gets through.

  20. Turls says:

Steven May. Don't know why I've got him. Want to bank some coin to afford a Dunstan -> Steve Johnson upgrade next week.

    1) Downgrade May to a FWD cheapie (and who?)
    2) Straight swap him for Tex and find the cash for Johnson next week using one up one down strategy?

    15 trades

    • julz says:

It depends how much cash you need. With option one there are no real FWD rookies on the bubble but C Cameron from Adelaide is still only about $160K, or you've got Lennon at Richmond around $200K and Shenton at a bit over that.

Option 2 you could do a straight swap, bearing in mind that you will have young O'Brien from Brisbane on the bubble in the midfield next week. Like some people on here though, I am not sold that Tex will be a premo

      • Azmataz says:

Mate I had May for awhile too. Don't know why…was a bad idea. Traded him out a few weeks back.

If I was you, I would bring in a FWD premium and downgrade a mid rookie to O'Brien, ideally next week as May won't drop in price much as his BE is only 60.

15 trades is alot mate how many players are you away from full premo?

  21. Bruce says:

    Dan,
Sorry love to help RE: Inca Trail(Trial!), but I'll be playing finals!

  22. Captain joc says:

    My dilemma

2 upgrades needed in the next month

Trade Langdon to Goddard leaving just a fwd spot to upgrade with shenton warming for the next couple of weeks or hold trades I’m going for highest overall rank possible as I’m 610th

  23. scano says:

Do people think jaensch and hurn can become in the top denders by the year? are we picking up a bargain or should we wait for others?

    • Itchy Nuts Pieman says:

Been torched by Hurn in the past. Gets injured a lot. Jaench looks like a solid pick. I’ll be grabbing him this week & trading out Langford.

    • Pompous Git says:

I’m not totally sold on either. If you still plenty of trades, then go either one of them as it might pay off. If cash is tight, go Carlisle as Bomber seems to have finally accepted that he’s not a forward and has named him at full back again. He is a $139k discount on his round 1 price.

If money is not an issue for you, then take Bartel, Simpson, Malceski, Johnson in that order.

    • WombatsFC says:

Jaensch had a couple of real stinkers in addition to his injured score and Hurn rhymes with burn. If you already have simpson, bartell, mcveigh, swallow and another def averaging 100+ with proven consistency then, either of Jaensch or hurn would be a viable speculative pick for D6. But you need to consider what it may cost you if they don't go on to average like a Hibberd or Johnston

  24. Jimmy says:

Is pendles a lock? or should I be looking at getting Stevie J instead of him and use the extra money to get a parker instead of tex

    • Itchy Nuts Pieman says:

Stevie j is going to be nicely priced. But he has Crowley in week 1 of SC finals. Crowley towelled him a few weeks ago. Crowley is the reason he’s cheap. Buyer beware

    • WombatsFC says:

Pendle is THE lock at M2

  25. Brandon2416 says:

    Hi community,
Going for the league win and am in 1st place by a win.
    My team is :
    Def: Swallow,Simpson,Bartel,Burgoyne,Enright, Mcveigh (Gardiner, Vandeleur)
Mid: Ablett, Pendles, Beams, Selwood, Watson, Dal Santo, Murphy, Taylor ( Hartung, Roberston)
    Ruck: Sandi, Jacobs (Derickx, Currie)
Fwd: Dangerfield, Parker, Martin,Zorko,Dahlhaus,Shenton (Ambrose, Llyod)
12 trades and 354k in the bank.

OPTION 1: Roberston OUT(via mcveigh DPP) Hibberd IN. Would leave me with 92k in the bank and only 1 fwd premo to have a full premo team.

OPTION 2 : Enright OUT Hibberd IN
If you have any other trade options please comment
    Thanks

    • Itchy Nuts Pieman says:

If this was my team I would go Ambrose to tex walker. Then use Lloyd to loophole between walker & Shenton. Then upgrade Taylor to a 500k mid. Team done

    • scano says:

      I like option 1 better.

You could just upgrade Taylor to someone like barlow and I think you would have enough money to get Hibberd for Enright?

    • WombatsFC says:

Dericx to thurlow Taylor to R.Gray is another option

    • Jimbo says:

Option 2 is a sideways trade and Hibberd is a miss for mine. I would leave your defence and look at trading Derickx for Nic Nat or Charlie Dixon.

  26. Derek says:

I'm happy to see Rohan on Swans extended bench this week. I doubt he will be named to play, but he must be in consideration. He is still a great FWD downgrade option if/when named

    • BCHawks says:

I personally don't think that he is when he plays his scores have been terrible.

      • Pompous Git says:

        Agreed, and too expensive.

I see Collingwood have named Broomhead on an extended bench at $123900, he is at least an option. The Pies should be very keen to get a look at him as he was drafted at 20 in 2012 and they will have to decide wether to re-contract him at the end of the year.

One to keep an eye on anyway.

        • Porcelain says:

I also am holding Lloyd and waiting for the next increase or 2.
Unless you will have a doghnut or Lloyd's cash is desperately needed, better to trade out other cows that have little fat left or are losing money

  27. sharker4 says:

I have been banking on Lloyd coming back into the side and considering he's not I think I need to move him on despite his negative breakeven. My forward line is lacking and I need to start to fix it up. I have 12 trades left with 147k to play with. Here is my side

Swallow, Bartel,Burgoyne, Hooker, Suckling, Enright (Langdon, Langford)
Ablett, Beams, Selwood, Liberatore, Jones, Tyson, Swan, Goddard (Hartung, Acres)
    Sandilands, Jacobs (Derickx, Currie)
Dangerfield, Martin, Zorko, Dalhaus, Shenton, Ambrose (Lloyd, Cameron)

    Thoughts?

    • Jottie says:

maybe hold mate, let the cows fatten :) although I have already traded Lloyd your not making a heap of cash.

      • sharker4 says:

Maybe you're right, im just worried having 4 rookes in the forward line. Which is my own fault for not planning accordingly. Maybe I will just downgrade Langdon for a bit of cash to upgrade one of these forward rookies in the future. Issue is I've got a hard league match coming up and I really need to win it if Im going to playing finals.

        • Jottie says:

I think if you rush those rookies you won't be getting the best result in the long run, maybe do a dbl downgrade (langdon, langford) for (bews, Obrien) or you have enough cash to go lloyd > Tex Walker and downgrade langford > bews? upgrade ambrose in a couple of weeks?

  28. Kerrigan says:

Backs: mcveigh, swallow, Thompson, walker, suckling, Langford, cutler & georgiou

Mids: ablett, pendles, Goddard, beams, selwood, Libba, Mundy, Shelton, crouch & acres

Rucks: sandi, Ryder, derickx & thurlow

Fwds: danger, Martin, dalhaus, gunston, Higgins, fasolo, ambrose & Cameron.

15 trades $350 in the bank. Where should i target my upgrades community?

Thinking cutler to bartel but leaves me with only $30k left over.

    Fasolo – tex walker?

    • Pompous Git says:

Just Cutler to Bartel. Next week you go Crouch to Obrien and do a forward upgrade of Faz or Amber with that cash.

  29. Nik says:

Thoughts on a Langdon to docherty downgrade? Has shown some real form in his first three games?

    • Pompous Git says:

Depends on the rest of your squad old boy, he is scoring well and doing a bit of a Jaensch on us. Also consider going further down to Carlisle saves you another $70k to spend elsewhere. If that helps you to gain an ultra mid premium like JPK/Pendles etc then worth considering.

    • WombatsFC says:

Based on his 3 games so far Docherty is a solid option for D6. He spends time in the middle, gets a lot of the ball, bounces it, kicks long and accurately, and also scores goals. Nobody else at Carlton seems able to kick goals regularly so his position is secure.
However Langdon has dual line eligibility which will become invaluable as you run short on trades and injuries mount up.

  30. Mathew says:

    Look out mumford owners
Lobb has been names in this weeks GWS side
This could mean that mummy plays forward this week

    • Ole Biscuit Barrel says:

Hoping that Lobb could become a good Derikx downgrade in 2 weeks, great story.

      • The Garbo says:

My thinking is Lobb is only getting a game atm because of camerons suspension. But will definately be keeping an eye on him

  31. Pompous Git says:

Should I play Wingard or Shenton on the field? Very tempted to put Shenton there, and stick the E on Chad.

    Good or bad idea people?

    • Jottie says:

if your going to do that , then get rid of wingard , you have to back your premiums …

    • The Mullet says:

With Wingard getting concussed last week, I think there has to be some risk that he will be a late withdrawal anyway.

    • Pompous Git says:

That is my concern Mullet. Happy to keep him, just concerned that his output will be low this week after the big knock he took. TBH I am surprised he is even playing after being out cold last week.

    • WombatsFC says:

      Loophole him.

    • Shook says:

Will not work as both are playing each other.

  32. @TVardon says:

My back line is stuffed. McVeigh, Swallow, Burgoyne, Enright, Langdon, Bews, [Georgiou, Clurey(!)]
I've got $229,000 in the bank. Georgiou has to go. So I've got $414,500. 15 trades left.

Do I take Dempster, Docherty or Broadbent?

Or should I go Sam Lloyd to McGovern from West Coast to generate enough cash to get Malceski, Michael Johnson, Hibberd or Pearceoff Hanley?

  33. Jarrod05 says:

Ablett, Libba or Watson for captain this week?

    • wat says:

libba could dominate with big will tapping it down his throat going against an inexperienced ruckman in stef martin this week

    • WombatsFC says:

Blues are crap at shutting down midfielders (rocky 180+ lw) put the VC on Joel and on Sat morning if you think his 160+ isn't good enough put the C on libba

  34. Simon T says:

I have 15 trades left and two highly winnable games in my leagues without needing to trade. However, I am still an outside chance to make finals. I have the following players who are either not getting a game and/or about to drop/peaked in value – Cutler, Langford, Polec, Dunstan, Currie, Lloyd.

    Two questions
    1) Should I make any trades?
    2) Who out of that list should I trade this week.

    Any thoughts/comments greatly appreciated.

    • Ole Biscuit Barrel says:

Polec to Obrien Langford to Bartel?

      • Simon T says:

Thanks Ole Biscuit Barrel. I was thinking of keeping Polec as they playing the Saints and might score big and already have Bartel (ironically in the midfield). If I was going to trade anyone in the midfield it would be Dunstan and hopefully for a MID/FWD to take advantage of DPP but I don't have the cash to do it to get Gray or Harvey.

I could improve my cash flow by trading Langford to Litherland but not sure about his job security or was thinking of trading Langford for Docherty but does not leave me with much cash.

  35. bigjanks says:

I've been screwed all year at ruck. Started with Mummy/Sandi and had Currie and King as backups. Perfect ruck combo to begin the year with Currie making some money early on and king was my loophole.

Mummy gets injured and I get stuck with him for 3 weeks before deciding to pull the trigger on Big Boy. Now he is injured and Currie doesn't get a game anymore. I think I've had 5 or 6 weeks where I've fielded only 1 ruckman.

Since Big Boy is still out again this week, I have a couple options…(plenty of money and trades left)

1)Trade Currie for Nic Nat (cheap as chips and still has potential to be a 100pt/game guy) keep King as loophole
2)Trade Big Boy back to Mummy (risk more injuries) or another premium.
3)Trade Currie for Lobb or Lowden and stay with Big Boy as my ruck #2

After typing this out I think my best bet is to roll the dice with Nic Nat and I can always play the first Ruckman for the weekend as my Emergency and if they score well I throw King in as a starter over the other ruck I think will score less.

Unless someone knows whether Lobb or Lowden will be selected for the remainder year meaning that I can just roll the dice on 40-50 pt games if Sandi or Big Boy were to miss games.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

What would you guys choose to do?

    • Derek says:

McElroy will be back next week. Option 1 looks GOLD!

    • sdl says:

How long is Big Boy looking to be out for? If ya got plenty of cash Nic Nat at that price is definitely a viable Ruck backup option, considering it myself.

    • WombatsFC says:

I'd go Mac to Minson. Once a ruck breaks he is broken for the whole season you need a safe solid ruck option not speculation.

  36. Jarrod05 says:

I’d definitely look at getting Polec out!! He has a high break even.

Maybe Lloyd if you need some cash?

    • Matt says:

Things arent looking good to Polec, u could always upgrade to the still cheap ryan griffen

  37. Steve says:

    Morning all,

Looking for some advice with regards to my team. I have $211,000 and 15 trades.

B : Bartel, McVeigh, Hibberd, Swallow, Langdon, McDonald (Webster, Georgiou)
M : Ablett, Pendles, Beams, Selwood, Gray, Cotchin, Zorko, Shenton,(Robertson, Hartung)
R : Sandilands, Lobbe (Currie, King)
F : Dangerfield, Martin, Bruest, Dahlhaus, Roughead, Ambrose (Lloyd, Cameron)

I'm looking at a trade of Robertson to O'Brien and then Lloyd to Parker but it just doesn't seem right. Any others you can advise on?

    Cheers.

    • wat says:

could upgrade mcdonald for a premium or even ambrose for riew

      • scano says:

you could downgarde webster and gain about 200k then swap zorko the magnificent to ambrose and upgrade him with money you have

    • Derek says:

your team looks unbalanced with Zorko & gray in the guts.

I would trade Lloyd to Hanley (swapping Zorko into FWD), swing Hanley to the DEF via McDonald.

    • WombatsFC says:

I'd go Roughy to Rocky put Zork fwd. Cotchin to JPK

    • Steve says:

Thanks guys for the advice – cash unfortunately wouldn't allow me to bring in both Rocky and JPK. I settled on Parker and Libba. I've moved Zorko forward and Parker is in the Mid for the moment but Iguess down the track he'll go forward when Ambrose etc is upgraded.

      Thanks again for the advice.

  38. Jarrod05 says:

Steve, Upgrade Zorko to a premium.

    • wat says:

why would you upgrade zorko? Had a gastro affected score of 16 and still averaging 91? I’d keep him and if you didn’t have him maybe even look to bring him in

  39. Mike says:

    gray or buddy ?????
Factors – Buddy has an amazing run home, Buddy can kick a big bag, Buddy can get 50's

    • wat says:

depends if you want the extra 100k to put towards another premium. Buddy has been back to form and looks the goods but gray is very consistent and is just like having a quality midfielder in your forward. Up to you!

  40. BCHawks says:

my podcast question wasn't answered. Oh well. If anyone could answer this question it would be greatly appreciated. Who is the best defender under 130k. thanks.

    • Derek says:

I don't think there is anyone. Bews at $148k is the cheapist Defender playing. If you were looking into the future I would suggest that Fuller should one day get a game

    • Schnook says:

J Hunt from Melb at $117k prob won't play but has def/mid swing to enable emergency loophole on either line if have swingset in mids.

    • northerner says:

Litherland ($165k) if you need cash generation as he will appreciate,Clay Cameron ($168k) if you want job security

  41. Kingmen says:

    hi guys,

need some help trying to figure out trades this week with only $98000 in the bank.

Def: Swallow, Simpson, Bartel, Malceski, Hooker, Enright, (Langdon, Langford)

MIds: Ablett, Pendlebury, Beams, Selwood, Watson, M Murphy,Barlow, Hallahan (Billings, Acres)

Rucks: Sandi and Mumford (Derickx, Thrulow)

Fwds: Danger, Parker, Matin, T Lynch, Fasolo, Shenton (Ambrose, Cameron)

first option was trade out Billings and Lynch swap Langdon n the middle then bring in litherland and r gray

second option was trade out Billings and Lynch swap shenton in the middle and bring in tex and zorko.

any help or other suggestions would be great!

    • Branks says:

      first option is better

    • BCHawks says:

Hi, I would trade out Langford for a defensive rookie and then I would sub Billings into your forward and put Shenton into your midfield and play him on field instead of Hallahan and then I would trade out Billings for Premium forward of your choice, then next round I would trade out Acres and swing Langdon to you midfield and then trade him out for a premium.

  42. Josh.F says:

Who should I trade in Jaensch or Hurn?

  43. Phil says:

In a bit of a pickle guys was wondering what i should do
Def: Swallow, Simpson, Bartel, Mcveigh, Langdon, Docherty (Gergiou, Tippet)

Mid: Ablett, Pendlebury, Beams, Selwood, Rockliff, Fyfe, Dangerfield. Treloar (Hartung, Acres)

    Rk: Sandilands, Hampson (Currie, King)

Fwd: Parker, Martin, Pavlich, Zorko, Higgins, Lloyd (Ambrose, Cameron)

    46k in the bank.

I'm not sure if i should trade or just hold because my rookies haven't got really enough cash to kill so i was thinking either holding and wait for more cash to free up or possible trade Lloyd to a donut of Honeychurch who has a MID/FWD and then upgrade Langdon to Malceski .
Another option is just downgrading Lloyd to Honey, giving me 150k in the bank and then having a look at O'brien from Brisbane and if he does well, Trade Hartung for O'brien giving me roughly 230k if Hartung reaches the 200 thousand price.
Thoughts would be much appreciated :)

    • Wattsieesq says:

Your defence looks solid. I've got Langdon and although he'll probably lose money this week, he's been punching out 90s and 100s since the bye. For that reason I'm holding him for another week.

  44. Dave says:

    G’day community,

Need a MID, FWD and DEF upgrade to complete my team. Getting Stevie J or Fyfe next week. Money restrictions leaves me with 2 options.

Jaensch and Gray or Bartel/McVeigh and Franklin. Which is the better combo?

  45. spinnerau1 says:

    G'day community!!!

Tossing up between mcviegh, simpson or bartel into my defence……who does the community feel is going to be the better long term performer for the rest of the year?…..for me its a pinch between mcveigh and bartel with bartel I think just in front with geelong aiming to prove that that 110 drubbing was a bump in the road.

thought as always are greatly appreciated

    • Derek says:

they are all expensive. If you can afford them, great. I just can't justify spending that much money, if you wait you will get them cheaper or you can look at the fallen premiums now on offer.

Hanley is $170k cheaper than Simpson, Hodge is $130k cheaper, Mitchell (when he come back and has the 9 out of his average) will be $420k. H Shaw is $441k!!! plenty to chose from and leave you cash to spend in the guts where the points are made.

      • Wattsieesq says:

I've got Bartel and McVeigh and both are great. Both of their teams remaining games are equal in difficulty so flip a coin. McV and the swans are on the rise while the cats have stuttered. That may be a factor that splits them.

  46. Hien says:

which premium def should i pick up simmo, mcveigh or someone else?

    • Matt says:

Bartel is always a safe option. But from the choices above Simpson although more expensive has a lower BE and better form to date than McVeigh

  47. Mozz says:

    Really need someone's advice please!
    This is my fwd line:

Danger, Parker, Martin, Zorko, Taylor, Lloyd (Shenton, Ambrose)
12 trades left and $97k in the bank

    WHAT SHOULD I DO!?
I really don't want to be fielding two of Taylor, Shenton and Ambrose although they are all cash cows and have not reached their full potential yet. I also have Langdon in DEF and Hallahan in MID which i'm also thinking could be traded off.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • Wattsieesq says:

Hallahan still has money to make, but if you need cash and want to upgrade a forward, perhaps trade Hallahan down to Obrien and upgrade Taylor with the $190k that you make of the first trade.

  48. Derek says:

I think LLoyd has been given every chance to get back in the Richmond team, it looks unlikely. He does have a negative BE so if he does get a game there is cash to be made, but when????

Langdon still has some cash to be made (has a high BE this week because still has the 53 in his average but will be gone next week), and is playing well. If you can I would hold him for a few more weeks and maybe upgrade him to Sam Mitchell when he comes back.

    • Mozz says:

But i'm thinking that Lloyd can be used as a FWD loophole option. Used that last week and was able to snap up Shenton's 100.
It's just that my FWD line is looking really bare and i don't know if i should bring in someone like tex for taylor?

    • Pompous Git says:

Mitchell is not due back for another 4 weeks! Then 2 for his price to drop, shouldn’t we be getting to full premium well before then?

      • Ole Biscuit Barrel says:

I think SMitch will be a handy trade option for injury cover, cant wait 6 weeks for him when Shaw is going ti be 410 next week!

      • Derek says:

I am playing for League wins. As long as I have Sammy before the finals i'm happy

  49. Pompous Git says:

Shenton is fairly acceptable as an F6 in the medium term, and it wouldnt be a total disaster having Ambrose on the field this week.

Not sure if Hallahan has maxed out, but him down to Obrien could free up the cash to upgrade Taylor or Lloyd into Buddy?

    • Mozz says:

I think i'm going to just hold all trades this week.
Hallahan hasn't maxed out just yet, his BE is 19 so easily another 30k+ there. Don't like Obrien just yet, would like to see another week out of him.

I'm also sitting ontop of my league and versing 4th, so it will be a close game, but i'm not expected to lose. Here's hoping that Ambrose, Shenton and Taylor do not get the vests!!!

  50. sss says:

what do people think about Claye Beams as a possible downgrade option
On the bubble, good JS been a bit scratchy but will score enough to go up in price well
Not to keen on O'brien he want ton up again so what do people think

  51. Wayno's cousin says:

Qik question community. If I have a Geelong player who scores a donut tonight can I move the Captaincy off him later in the round to make use of the captains loophole ?

  52. ben says:

i need to replace big boy……

deciding between the safe and steady big will or taking a risk on the fig fijian

    thoughts??

  53. sdl says:

Does anyone feel either Wines or Macrae are keepers in the long run?

Mid: Pendles, Rockliff, Beams, Libba, Goddard, Selwood, Wines, Macrae (Senton, Acres)

Defence is full premo but still have 1 upgrade to do in fwd line.

Obviously looking at Ablett either next week or week after. Have $370k in the bank but only 9 trades due to injuries and corrective trades (in hindsight putting my initial team together whilst intoxicated was a bad idea!)

    Thoughts community?

    • Mozz says:

With 9 trades left, I would be holding onto Wines and Macrae for now. You really want 6 trades going into the finals but they are a whopping 9 weeks away. So my advice for you is to just stick fat with them until you think it's the best time to bring in Ablett.

    • Schnook says:

Hold, just keep looking at Wines/MacRae and seeing Gaz next week!

  54. Nick says:

Anyone considering graig bird? He's been scoring huge since Sydney got their full team together. Avg 123 last 3 games

    • Mozz says:

too risky. he is not a proven SC player. Could just be going through a good spell.

    • Big Ring says:

yeah i'm gonna take the risk and grab him – figure he'll make about as much cash as a rookie in the next couple of weeks in case i regret the decision – and if not he might be a valuable forward!

  55. Garglesnarf FC says:

Yes, but only because I cant afford a better option. Will do Polec to Bird if named (currently on extended bench), and consider moving him forward in the next week or two when I have the cash to turn a forward into a mid premo.

    • Garglesnarf FC says:

In fact i’m also considering Bartel. Just the one trade this week. Polec to Bartel or Bird? Proven premium or the new Swans midfield jet at $60k cheaper?

  56. WombatsFC says:

Matty white out injured Sam Gray straight into the centre. Could be a way to get to some cheap points and $

    • Garglesnarf FC says:

I think you may have your 50 shades of Gray wrong and over excited the Arousal Curve :). Robbie Gray is 540k and playing in the forward pocket, while Sam Gray is cheap but an emergency?

      • WombatsFC says:

Quoting team as named at afl.com.au

        • Garglesnarf FC says:

Well ill be stuffed. The Herald Sun has Boak in the centre and SGray is listed as emergency!

          • GarglesnarfFC says:

Right you are Wombats, Boak out SGray in! Matt white out, Ben Newton in. I a
Hadn't seen the updated team sheet.

      • Porcelain says:

Wombats FC is correct – Sam Gray named in the Centre (I have been carrying him for a few weeks waiting to make some more $$)

      • The Garbo says:

Good pickup. But I don't want to waste a trade on him when theres a good chance he doesnt have many games left in him

  57. Lloyd says:

Would trading out Dom Tyson this week be over-exciting the arousal curve? I doubt he will go up in price by any more than 10k and he has horrible fixtures in the next few weeks (COL, ESS, NTH and Freo). I have the money to bring in an elite like JPK, is this a good trade or should I finish the season with Tyson and he hope he can keep his average of just under 100.

    • Mozz says:

only trade him out when his Break even is above his average.

      • Oracle says:

Sometimes in supercoach u have to be be proactive not reactive like the famous Brewin maneuver. If u can predict Tyson spudding it up this week then u have an extra week of premium output while everyone else trades him out next week.

  58. Dos22 says:

    Hey all,

Any thoughts on whether i should hang onto Suckling???
    Currently have : J. McVeigh, D. Swallow, K. Simpson, M. Hibberd, J. Bartel, M Suckling. (W. Langford, T. Cutler).
Got 11 trades left and really love the look of Jaensch but not sure if its a wasted trade.

    Please help!

    Cheers

    • Mozz says:

you have 11 trades left, I would definitely hold onto him for the moment.
Just don't over excite the arousal curve and wait a few weeks

      • Dos22 says:

        Haha cheers Mozz.

Is 11 trades too few at this stage?

Got 7 premium mids and 2 ug's to make in the fwd line and I'm sweet.

        • The Garbo says:

I have one mid and one fwd to upgrade. with 11 trades left.

But I would like to upgrade MaCrae late in the season

  59. SC dilema says:

Have 15 trades at $63k in kity with following team:
    Def – Swallow,Bartel,McVeigh,Janesch,Suckers,Enright (Langford,Cutler)
    Mid – Ablett,Pendles,Beams,Selwood,Watto,Rockcliff,Langdon,Dunstan (Hallahan,Acres)
    Ruc – Sandi,Jacobs
    Fwd – Danger,Martin,Zorko,Pav,Wingard,Fasolo (Impey,Shenton)

Considering Langdon to Hanley. (Will then swap Suckling to the mids for Hanley in 2 wks & buy Johnson)
Fasolo to Tex (was thinking more upside with Tex re: Cash generation)

    Thoughts

    • JX20 says:

On afl.com.au Sanderson tipping Tex to be rested in coming weeks as they have quite a few six day breaks to come. Still think Lecras has more to offer as F6.

  60. Michael says:

    Hi Community,
I need some advice. My team as follows
DEF Swallow, Simpson, Bartel, McVeigh, Hibberd, Langdon (Langford, Georgiou)
MID Ablett, Beams, Selwood, Libba, Murphy, Fyfe, Tyson, Shenton (Hartung, Acres)
    RUC Sanilands, jacobs (Derickx, Currie)
FWD Danger, Gray, Martin, Buddy, Wingard, Taylor (Lloyd, Ambrose)

I have 18 trades and 170K in bank.
I want to bring in sloane for Tyson this week or next and complete mids with pendles once other mid cows fatten
Not sure what to do with Langford/Langdon. Thinking of trading one of them to Hanley or Malceski. Any thoughts on that? Could possibly make langdon a keeper as MID bench cover and swing man, just not sure how to get him to the MIDS
Will finish FWD when Taylor fully fattens

    Any advice would be great.

    Cheers

    • Donavan says:

Good job building this team with so many trades remaining.

I would be looking to Upgrade Langford to M.Johnson.

Also wouldn't wait for Taylor to fatten. Look to trade him perhaps to LECras who will make plenty of cash this week (more than Taylor would over 3-4 weeks).

  61. HouseofDarsh says:

Hey community, can anyone see any faults, or areas of suggested improvement with my team?

    DEF-
Swallow, McVeigh, Bartel, Burgoyne, Hibberd, Hooker (Gardiner/Tippett)

    MID-
Ablett, JPK, Pendles, Selwood, Swan, Beams, Goddard, Shenton (Hartung/O'Brien)

    RUC-
    Sandilands, Jacobs (Currie, King)

    FWD-
Dangerfield, Gray, Martin, Zorko, Higgins, Franklin (Lloyd, Ambrose)

    • JX20 says:

Great team. Although Jacobs looked really sore and has to be in doubt which leaves a donut.

  62. Jarrod05 says:

Hey Wat, What about zorko’s 46, 59 scores?? He is too inconsistent for my liking! And he plays in a shit team.

    • The Garbo says:

Excluding his score when he was ill. He still averages a ton. Plus priced at 400k reduces the risk if your worried

  63. Porcelain says:

What do people think about Enright tonight – play the full game, or a chance to be sub'd out ?
Coach Scott was slightly non-committed earlier this week.
He said something about being certain Lonergan would be back this week and almost as certain that Enright would.

  64. JX20 says:

I have Minson and Sandi but no playing emerg thanks to Currie. If Sandi gets a rest I’ve got a definite donut. Was looking at a left field idea with Stefan Martin trade in for Sam Lloyd at F8. This allows Thurlow & Martin swap as insurance. Martin scored well as their only ruck a few years ago. Is this wasting a trade?

    • The Garbo says:

Martin is a pricey player to take a punt on at around 250k. Would wait to see how he goes in the next two rounds first.

  65. Josh says:

Want some feedback if I am crazy doing two sideways trades.
Plan is Wright -> Tex Walker and Pyke -> NicNat.
I have Langdon at D6, Polec at M6, Pyke is second Ruck, Higgins, Wright and Shenton are F4, F5 and F6
Would like to get rid of Polec and Langdon but I can only do so much.

  66. Gab says:

    thoughts on these trades please

    Langford > Hanley
Dericks > Lobb (New kid from GWS)

Before trades i only had 24k

    • Jottie says:

Langford> hanley looks good, I would hold derricks

    • Derek says:

Great trades. Derrickx done his job, cash him in

      • Gab says:

cheers guys, i actually made a mistake because i can afford swallow which is even better!
My def is : Hibberd, Macveigh, Birchall, M.Johnson, Bartel and suckling.
Do i get hanley and pocket the cash or go to swallow and only have 10 k left ??

  67. Sully321 says:

    Hi community,
Now that Langford is out I don't have 22 players this week. Is he just getting rested? I think I've got four options this week I have 18 trades left at the moment and about $240,000 in the bank
    1. Out Joel tippet and bews in just so I have 22 this week and polec to JPK, rockliff, Libba, Stevie J, jack or hannebry
2.out lanford and in docherty and then polec to everyone on the previous list except JPK
    3. Out Joel tippet and bews in
    4. out lanford and in docherty

    Thoughts would be appreciated thanks

  68. blake says:

best backline downgrade option under 200k? Unsure on Litherland's job security

my weak points at this stage, maybe hodge and frawley(be only 46)
    shenton is my M8
    fwds: pav,fasolo

I think langford down back could move as BE is 47, Hodge is 155

Hallahan Be is only 19, but not named..

    Thoughts?

  71. Mark says:

Struggling to make a decision between swinging Danger to the midfield to bring Franklin in to the forward line or to just bring Libba into the midfield and forget about Franklin.

Def: Swallow, Bartel, McVeigh, Birchall, Hanley, Enright (Langford, Langdon)
Mid: Ablett, Pendlebury, J.Selwood, Watson, Swan, Goddard, L.Taylor, Hartung (Crouch, Acres)
    Rck: Sandilands, Goldstein (Currie, King)
Fwd: Dangerfield, Gray, Martin, Zorko, Pavlich, Wingard (Lennon, Cameron)

  72. Derek says:

Enright or HShaw? If you had to choose

    • GeneralSoreness says:

For me depends on the current volatility of your backline, if already stable, go Shaw if needs some stability go Enright.

  73. IRL says:

hey guys, if i make no trades tonight, can i still makes trades tomorrow?
i.e because i want to get rid of langford but i want to wait until tomorrow to see if he is a late change again?
    Cheers community

    • GeneralSoreness says:

      Yes

    • CraigN says:

Yes, but not anyone who plays tonight.

      • IRL says:

cheers guys, last week it paid off by not trading out langford so hopefully 2 in a row !!

    • julz says:

Yes can trade players in or out right thru to when their game starts under the rolling lockout.
NOTE u cant reverse trades after a round starts so if u do wait til tomorrow to trade Langford u won’t b able to change yr mind after trades done
      Hope this makes sense: )

  74. Jayden says:

Would love to hear your thoughts community..
This week I am bringing in rocky for billings.
Trade 2: will be tom langdon to either Malceski or hanley
Based on current funds, next week I will be able to get robbie gray if I choose hanley, parker if I choose malceski.
I know a lot can change between now and then, but the above trades is providing Fasolo doesn't drop in price.
    13 Trades remain.
    Thanks,

    • Jayden says:

Forgot to mention, I have suckling on my def bench, so would it be worth bring him on and getting rid of langdon for a defence rookie? just can't see any that I like tho…

    14 trades and $46k

    Who to trade Daisy to?

Have I got to many key forwards. Have Rioli in mind?

    • Itchy Nuts Pieman says:

Your doind well to hae Langdon & McDonald on the bench. Personally I think you need to cah 1 in. Maybe even to a non playing Mid/Fwd. Melbourne has one at about 120K. Use that money to uprade Daisy t whover you like, then next week upgrade Cloke to Parker or Dahlhaus. 3 Key forwards is too many.

  77. TigerTuff says:

Who are your captaincy choices this week guys?

  78. Dave says:

Premium forward? Have gray, parker, martin and danger already

      Wow, a bit harsh Cratzy!

Based on the coaches plans to rest Tex over the next few weeks, I would pass on Tex. I have NRoo and he not exactly setting the world on fire, but he is cheap. Zorko & Bird present better value than either IMO.

    trade options would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    • Itchy Nuts Pieman says:

Upgrade Ambrose & Taylor. Ambrose to Tex Walker & use Llody as loophole with Shenton. Use the rest of your cash to upgrade Taylor to Swan, if you want full premium this week.

      • Azmataz says:

Taylor to Rocky since you have the cash. I would be happy enough keeping Shenton on the park for now and Ambrose has a BE of 5 so still has cash to make.

Nice looking side there mate – nearly full premo

  89. Jack says:

    Def: D.Swallow J.Bartel J.Mcveigh M.Hibberd G.Birchall C.Enright (W.Landford A.Georgiou)
    Mid: G.Ablett S.Pendlebury J.Kennedy D.Beams J.Selwood C.Ward L.Taylor C.Shenton (B.Hartung B.Acres)

    Fwd: P.Dangerfield D.Martin S.Higgins J.Roughead C.Wingard P.Ambrose (S.Lloyd J.Impey)
13 trades and 371k in the bank

I was thinking about trading Taylor up to Rockliff in the midfield using all my cash but i'm not sure any other trade options would be highly appreciated. Thanks!!

    • Azmataz says:

Yeah mate good trade. I think Rocky is a must have. He will be one of my first selected players next year.

      • Fabian says:

Great trade to get rocky in but looking at your forward line, it might be worth taking a cheaper option (barlow/Goddard or wait a week for steven johnson/fyfe) and save some cash to upgrade Ambrose.

  90. Dazza says:

    What's happened to Higgo's punt machine ???

    Have i missed something ?

  91. David says:

    Jaench vs Hanley

Who will average more at the end of the season.
    Cheers

    • Jesse says:

      hanley

    • Azmataz says:

Jaensch is a bit of an unknown. I have looked at both of them and have opted to spend an extra bit of cash and get in Malceski instead. I just don't think Hanley is consistent enough.

  92. Aaron says:

    Hanley or malceski

  93. Fabian says:

    Fantastic Podcast.

If I was to share wisdom it would be to not rage trade Langford unless you need to. Still low BE and I think he will only have the one week off.

Hoping to get some wisdom from the community regarding a few potential trades.
At the moment I'm almost at Full Premo with the following exceptions:

    My team is:
    D: Swallow/ Bartel / Hanley / Janesch / Hurn / Langdon (langford, gardiner)
    M: Ablett / Pendles / Watson / JSelwood / Ward / Fyfe / Beams / Cocthin ( Hartung. Acres)
R: Sandi / NicNat (Currie, King)
F: Danger, Dusty, Buddy, Zorko, Higgins, Wright (Shenton, Ambrose)

I Have 11 trades and 151k in the bank and considering the following options:

    Option 1:
    Langdon -> Hibberd
    Wright -> Lecras
Gives me full pemo but massive injury risk and Lecras isn't a proven premo.

    Option 2:
    Wright -> Parker
(with Langdon or Langford to Hibberd next week via another downgrade)
Gives me a safer premo side with the downside of a week to wait for full premo and less cash and down gradable options for remainder of season.

    Option 3
Langdon or Langford (to use Langdon as a better emergency)-> mcveigh orHibbered
(Use Shenton as F5 and upgrade Wright to Premo in upcoming weeks)
Gives me a safer final team but am relying on Shenton for a decent score and will lose money on wright.

Would love to hear your thoughts

    Cheers

    • Wattsieesq says:

Hibberd has a reasonable break even, so may come down by 5k or so therefore you can afford to wait for him. Option 2 seems pretty good with that in mind.

  94. Jay says:

For those with Lloyd hold him. Rolled his ankle last week in the vfl and basically just played deep forward to fill a spot. Will come back into the seniors, I can guarantee that, I'll be keeping and using his cash around finals time.

  95. David says:

Should i take Corey Enrights 63 or play Brodie Martin from Adelaide?

  96. Chris says:

Final premo in midfield… JPK, Rockliff or Goddard?

  97. MightyDonsFC says:

Bank selwood 122 or roll the dice with Libba?

  98. Hazio says:

    libba

  99. Hazey says:

Am I crazy for looking at switching Wingard to Barlow this week, then Polec to JPK next week?

  100. DJ C says:

Hi all need wisdom please… i'm confused… too many to fix… not sure where to start…

14 trades left $121,500 bank ranked top 5% but going for league

    D: D.Swallow / Simpson / Bartel / McVeigh / Suckling / McDonald (Laidler / Georgiou)
    M: Ablett / Pendlebury / D.Beams / J.Selwood / M.Murphy / Fyfe / Polec / Langdon (Crouch / Acres)
    R: Sandilands / Jacobs (Derickx / Currie)
    F: Dangerfield / Martin / Dahlhaus / J.Roughead / Ambrose / Shenton (Llyod / Cameron)

have 15 options I like but not sure … unless you have one better:

    #1 – Laidler > O'BrienPolec > JPK$43,900 bank
    #2 – Laidler > O'BrienPolec > Liberatore$59,600 bank

    or

    Laidler > (a) Litherland / (b) O'Brien

    &

    #3 Polec > Rockliff(a) $10,100 / (b) $73,400 bank
    #4 Polec > Watson$54,900 / $118,200
    #5 Polec > K.Jack$55,600 / $118,900
    #6 Polec > Priddis$73,000 / $136,300
    #7 Polec > R.Gray$78,500 / $141,800
    #8 Polec > Sloane$83,800 / $147,100
    #9 Polec > Goddard$105,500 / $168,800

    #10 Polec > Malceski$126,100 / $189,400
    #11 Polec > M.Johnson$142,800 / $206,100

    #12 Polec > Tippett$154,900 / $218,200
    #13 Polec > Franklin$194,800 / $258,100
    #14 Polec > LeCras$209,800 / $273,100
    #15 Polec > T.Walker$304,200 / $367,500

Thoughts please… also maybe next week:
    out – Langdon & Crouch
    in – "premo-upgrade" & O'Brien (if not already in)

  101. piewood1 says:

    My 2 cents
Laidler > Litherland – Litherland will make you some cash this week, whereas O'Brien needs another week before he is on the bubble.

Polec > Rockliff – Out of those guys I see Rocky is the most capable with bringing out the really big scores as his 182 last week sure proved that!….. However if you want to bank some cash I'd go for Goddard.

    • DJ C says:

      Thanks …

Was planning on going the Litherland option this week n bringing O’Brien in next week (was only entertaining him this week if I must)…

I agree with you on the Rocky bit and the only reason I have’t gone him straight away was the cash generation…
After some thinking was actually leaning towards swininging McDonald into the Mid for Polec and bringing in Malceski / Johnson (POD) this week and then off loading say Langford or McDonald next week for maybe R.Gray… Eventually moving him Fw and leaving room for another Mid…

      Your thoughts?

  102. Mitch says:

    Hi All,
Hoping to get some last minute advice on trades for this week. 13 / $9,700.

D: Swallow, Bartel, McVeigh, Hibberd, Hanley, Langdon (Kolodjashnij, Langford)
M: Pendles, Beams, Selwood, Watson, Murphy, Swan, Cotchin, Mcrae (Shenton, Acres)
    R: Sandi, Mummy (Currie, King)
F: Danger, Gray, Martin, Higgins, Roughy, Fasolo (Ambrose, Cameron)

Really need a def rookie in the week or so to have enough cash to go Mcrae to Ablett.

This week considering Langdon to Jaensch as a straight swap to finish def but also thinking either KK or Langford to Litherland for the cash grab for ablett in the next couple of weeks….
    Thoughts? Suggestions?

    • piewood1 says:

Imo go the cash grab as Jaensch is unproven as a Premo & if he does start to taper off you have wasted a trade.

    • DJ C says:

I’d go Litherland as his going to generate some cash this week.
Next week off load Fasalo/Ambrose/Cameron, swing Shenton into you Fw and bring in O’Brien for more cash.

You will be left with plenty of cash to grab Ablett who will go down after his high break even … N you will have change left over .

So this week one tade … Next week two trades and you have ablett.

      • Mitch says:

cheers for the advice guys…the community always delivers! should I stick with offloading Langdon for Litherland? or consider Langford?? Langdon seems maxed out but does have a few easy games coming up. Langford has more to make but JS may be questionable…

  103. Jimmy says:

Fellas who would you rather in your team

    a) Pendles and Malceski/Hibberd
    b) Barlow and Johnson

  104. Shane says:

Upgraded to Parker and Barlow this week. Happy to leave as is for a while after cracking the top 1000.

Backs: mcveigh swallow Burgoyne Hanley suckling Langdon (McDonald bews)
Mids: Ablett pendlebury beams libba selwood ward dangerfield Barlow (hartung acres)
    Rucks: sandi cox (detricx currie)
Fwds: gray Parker Martin zorko roughead Higgins (impey Cameron)

I'm top on points in my league, but 10th on the ladder!

    • Tom says:

solid team, im in the same boat with second for most points but 8th on the ladder. It might be just about time to offload suckling in the coming weeks though. If you need the cash you could go hartung to zac o'brien from brisbane.

  105. Jimmy says:

Fellas who would you rather in your team

    a) Pendles and Malceski/Hibberd
    b) Barlow and Johnson

  106. Wes says:

    Bloody stevie J!!!
    I trusted you!!!!
What do you think community…. Stevie to jpk?

    • Azmataz says:

Steven Johnson is going to bully the weaker teams coming up. I am trading him in next week.

      • Wes says:

        Carlton wasn't a weaker team????
I kept him this rd thinking he would go ok…

That said, half my team has sucked this week.
        Danger… Crap
        Swallow… Crap
Hooker, dahlhaus, Higgins, choppy, tex… Crappo!!!
        Lucky to crack 1800.

  107. Rowdy says:

Why does Priddis get no love from champion data? His score from today is not justifyable surely

  108. Trotty says:

    Quick guys Rockliff or Kennedy!!!!!

  109. Jottie says:

Congrats all roughie owners 180 points !

  110. Sully321 says:

Charlie Cameron or JKH on the field?

  111. Corey says:

Do i take Enright and Shentons 63 or play Brodie Martin and Charlie Cameron?

  112. Cyril says:

Watson quad injury. They can really drag out! Who will b trading him out?

    • The Mullet says:

Not me. What I might do is look to trade up a non-playing rookie into a midpricer or fallen premium with good JS to strengthen my bench coverage. I've got plenty of swing sets in play. Eg get rid of Georgiou/Michie/Lloyd this week and bring in Wingard to plug holes and finish out the season as my F6.

This situation is why I'm not a big fan of using trades to bring in non-playing spuds purely for loop-holing. They clog your team when you get a significant injury. Better to use your injured player for loopholes where you can instead. Having said that, I'm only chasing league wins, not the $50k.

  113. JX20 says:

Take Stefan Martin’s 112 or play Sandi?

    • Leighroy says:

The way I would look at it is what do you think sandilands will score against big sauce. If you said say 120 I would take martins score as risk of injury or sandilands being subbed off if Freo are well in front out ways a 8 point increase in your score. I took impeys 117 over zorko last night knowing zorko can score a 130 or a 60. Depends on how much of a risk taker you are if sandi flops you have a massive pod for the week if sandi plays well you don’t really loose much. I would take martins score hope this helps

      • JX20 says:

Appreciate your thoughts. I’ll take Martin’s score.

          • Leighroy says:

I know I feel bad now but that’s how this game works. Failing that to put a positive on things if I had of said you would get 112 from sandilands you would have taken it so it’s not the worst result. I just hope you don’t loose your league games but 40 odd points.

  114. Brad says:

Take Kennedy's 127? Or put captain on either pendles or beams? I reckon beams will have a big game thinking jones will go to pendles?

  115. BCHawks says:

2165 with Martin Pendles and Beams to come. Should get a relatively good score

  116. Gab says:

hows everyones scoring looking this weekend?
all the people ive talked too reckon its a tough week with 2100 being a good score?

    • Pat says:

haha i was very lucky as my 2 ruckmen combined for a fair score:
      Goldstein (166) + Sandilands (154) = 320 :)

    • piewood1 says:

2117 with Pendles & Beams to play.

    • Aaron says:

2182 with beams and pendles left

    • Marcus j says:

2258 with swan and beans to play

    • oliverfisher says:

1957 with Pendlebury, Beams, Tyson and Langdon to play. Should hopefully crack 2400. Was helped out by monster scores from Roughead, Goldstein and Sandilands. Just a little dissapointed i had Rockliff as captain

    • Michael says:

2303, slightly disappointed given 13 players over 100. O'Brien on field hurt, plus some players down such as Simpson, Enright, Hibberd, Swallow (GCS), Murph, Bartel & Danger, all of whom I expect 100+ as premos. Rucks the big winners this week I think, had Sandy & Sauce for a combined 270, well done to those who have finally got the big one with Lobbe! No trades this week for me given I've only got 6 left! Very nearly got Buddy this week – went for Parker instead, glad I did!

  117. Aidan says:

My opponent has a 55 point lead and Fasolo left to play. Where as I only have Tyson left to play. We both have Ablett as VC. Should I take a risk to win by having Pendles as C or stick with Ablett as VC hoping Tyson scores 56 or higher than Fasolo

    • Billy says:

Huge risk putting C on Pendles but could pay off. Remember melbourne are a better defensive team now so dont expect all the pies guys to pump out 150+. If you have sizeable testicles i would put the C on pendles. Otherwise Tyson has been averagin 100+ over the last few and i reckon can outscore faz by 55 as long as faz doesnt go forward and kick a bag IMO

    • Leighroy says:

If you believe Tyson will out score fasolo by 55 leave the c on Ablett. If not then you should put the c on another player to try and make up the difference. I know that’s stating the obvious but really the decision is up to you and what you believe the two players will score. I would also look at the last say 6 melbourne games and look at what their opponents best player has scored. If it’s high the odds are pendles score will be high. If they do a job on the best player then you might be more inclined to keep the c on Ablett and hope fasolo struggles and gets subbed out as I think broom head will start as sub

  118. Hazey says:

    Poddy out tonight?

  119. oliverfisher says:

I have a few week links to fix in my midfield, namely Cotchin, Shuey and possibly Tyson to get rid of though he has been dong well lately. Thinking of downgradng Derickx this week and upgrading one of them to Ablett, which one should it be, leaning towards Cotchin at the moment.

    • Leighroy says:

If you plan to upgrade all three then I would upgrade the one with the highest breakeven. In relation to Derrickx who do you plan on drown grading him to and do you have ruck cover would be my only issue

      • oliverfisher says:

I have Sandilands and Goldstein, with Currie and Derickx on the bench so no real cover. Was thinking Lowden but then he is unlikely to stay in. Ideally would like to upgrade all three at some point, however it will depends on injuries, i've had a lot of injuries this year forcing me to make trades and so only have 11 left.

        • Leighroy says:

Lowdoen may have passed ceglar but both will be out when big boy and hale are back. The only real downgrade I see with JS is Martin from brisbane after his performance this week but not much money to make from the downgrade. If I had to upgrade one of the mids you have listed I would upgrade shuey as his only hit the 100+ points in 3 of his games this season. Take out tysons 49 and 50 which were back to back his lowest score is 83. I think you need to hold on cotchin even though his having a poor year by his standards I believe he does have the ability to turn things around and is a proven scorer in the past. You don’t want to trade him and then see him pump 3-4 100’s in a row.

    • john snow says:

Ive been thinking of downgrading Derrickx for a cash grab but I cant see anyone cheap enough who is going to play much footy. I think i'll keep him. Ive had Mcevoy from the start so Derrickx has proven excellent cover.

As mentioned Lowdon is going straight to box hill as soon as mcevoy and hale are fit which could be next round

      • Tom says:

        stefan martin?

        • WombatsFC says:

Give him another week Tom, remember O'brien started with a 100 and backed up with 20 something. Stefan could produce the same and/or break again. If I had Derricx I'd downtrade to Thurlow and put Stefan on the FWD bench and loophole all season

        • john snow says:

yeh hes an optin but your not going to gain much cash, use a trade and Derrickx ouput much the same

  120. The Mullet says:

I think this round might have just handed us a big lesson. A lot of us were looking at trades that were not really necessary last week ( I'll admit I was very close to booting Roughy out). Maybe it was just the enthusiasm of bye round trading still carrying through. Fast forward a few days and I can hear the SC gods snickering. Now we have Watson, M.Johnson, and possibly Buddy, Tippett, Higgins and others not available for next week. If anything happens to one of the pies guns today, I for one will be in deep sh*t.

    • WombatsFC says:

It was a good lesson. I almost traded Ollie Wines to Tippett this week for no reason other than thinking that I needed to trade. Looks like it might be Ollie to Boombust this week:)

  121. john snow says:

If Buddy gets rubbed out for that bump the game is all but f****d…. Free kick that's all. It's hard to bump when your that size… nothing in it.

  122. The Mullet says:

Any thoughts on whether Brisbane now using their number 3 ruckman will affect Rockliff's output?

    • john snow says:

Maybe a little, he's shown he can find his own footy though. Good players know how to read the oppositions ruckman when theirs is getting beaten

  123. john snow says:

To take Ambroses' score of 78 or roll the dice with Fasolo? Got a couple of league games in the balance

  124. The Mullet says:

Flip of the coin really. If it were me and I had my nose in front I'd bank the 78 points. If I were behind, I'd roll the dice on Faz.

  125. BundyBear says:

How the hell did Dane Swan get less SC points the Beams . How pathetic

  126. Porcelain says:

Thought I was gone, but managed to win by 12pts.
Was 400 in front, with Beams a common player. Opponent also had Pendles (Capt), plus Swan and Langdon.

  127. Adam says:

Wow, 11 spuds to make sure I lose 3 league games

Swallow, Jaench, Bartel, Birchall, Simpson, Goddard, Dal Santo, Danger, Fasolo and Walker

    …………………….

  128. Leon says:

    Andrew swallow or stevie j

stevie j coming against saints, will have to turn it around and almost under 500k. When is a player cheap and when are they just out of form, never to be seen again??

Or swallow. Good score against tigers, will not get tag as he is now fourth or fifth midfielder. Gun in past but injury might top the spread.

Any other premium around 500k worth getting?

    • The Mullet says:

I think Dane Swan's price is starting to look attractive……..but he will give you stress.

  129. Anthony says:

Should i trade out watson for zorko and dochery?

  130. Gab says:

    podcast out soon??

  131. john snow says:

i'll be swapping dom Tyson into stevie j I think. Around $40K can't go wrong

  132. Will says:

hey guys, does anyone know the extent of michael johnsons injury??
    Cheers
